They're all the same and I wanted the Safe Step shower. The installers got the job done, but they didn't fill in where the drain went in the floor and there was a hole. They also need to watch the caulk on their fingers when they touch other stuff. They got it on one spot on my dryer, but it's all right. I got it off. I'm too big for the tub though. We got it so that I won't fall down and the door hits my knee.

The salesperson was knowledgeable, and he was very courteous. He worked really hard and made sure we got what we needed. We had a little trouble right after we got the tub though. The next day the electricity hadn't worked and they sent another guy out. With what was going on with the state shut down, he wasn't able to get here until about three weeks later. Anyway, when I get in the tub, my husband supervises me if I'm okay. I'm a chronic pain patient and when I get done, I'm very much relaxed.

The Safe Step salesman, Mike, was a great salesman and a good guy. He kinda convinced me it might be the way to go. The only thing that bothered me was that it was pretty expensive and it wasn’t something I was gonna use a lot. But my girlfriend convinced me that she would like it and that had a lot to do with the purchase. The thing that I like most about the tub is my girlfriend loves it. She soaks in it by the hour and she's satisfied that I bought it. I've used it a couple of times and it’s complicated to get it going the way I want it. I love to shower and it’s not a great shower facility. I wanted something simpler so I could stand up and take a shower and maybe sit down. I have neuropathy. My balance isn’t real good. I wanted to get something where I could kinda hang on when I take a shower, which I can do in my shower downstairs. It’s good quality. I just think it’s a little too complicated for me.

The sales rep was great. He had all the information there and he was good in demonstrating the walk-in tub. The installation was great too. It took a couple of hours and it was easy, professional and a good job. The two people cleaned up after themselves as well. I recommend Safe Step. Using the tub, the microbubbles are great and I’ve got a thing I put in my face down in the water so I can breathe.

I had a tub installed last year. After a month the tub started making a loud grinding noise when no one is using the tub and the water didn't stay warm. I have called, emailed, chatted and messaged for the past 5 months trying to get service to contact me and come out. NO ONE will call me back, they just say they will forward my information and nothing. Don't trust them. They are NOT worth it!

The Safe Step Walkreps was decent. He had his routine and stuck to it. And ultimately, even though it was more money than I wanted to spend, I still did it, because the product seemed a little better than a couple of others that I already looked at. The installers left a couple of rough spots here and there, but for everything that they had to do, things came out pretty good overall.

I had a couple of features that didn't quite work right. When the installer left, I called him about a problem that I was having and he never got back to me. I wound up having to call the main store and telling them what the issue was. I waited for several days and didn't get any response from them. But they finally came back and straightened everything out for me. Safe Step pretty much upheld everything they said they were gonna do. The area they had to get the tub into was tight. They really did the best they could to get it in there and accomplished it. Salespeople looked at it but it was nothing the actual installer coming out and saying, "Uh-oh, what are we gonna do here?"

My wife wanted the Safe Step because she was no longer able to step up over the tub to get in. She couldn't even get in to take a shower. She has used the Safe Step several times and enjoys it. No matter whether she's sitting in it, taking a bath, or taking a shower, she's able to enter and exit it okay. The only drawback is that when you're taking a shower you have less room to maneuver around than when you had a tub. We wish we could have a little more room there.

We had different people come and talk to us about tubs and one of the Safe Step salesmen came and caught us at the right time because I still don’t see the basic difference in them and a couple other ones then. The installers did a pretty good job. When we had a problem I fixed it because they never came to fix. I have nothing against the way they put it in but it’s just not what I thought it would be.

When I found out the cost of Safe Step, I figured it was probably on the high side compared to some of the others. But then, it had some different features so I just went with it. The rep seemed to have all the knowledge. He went through the whole brochure and told me about all the features, which ones most people went with and why some people didn't go with all the features. He seemed to have the answers and I didn't doubt him.

But when it came with the installation, I was a bit on the disappointed side. I knew from the sales rep that when they came in, they were gonna have to take off the door jamb to go in through the bathroom. But I didn't think that that would be a messy job. I didn't go in there and watch them do it because it was a crowded space with two technicians and there was no room for me. So I wasn't aware of exactly what was happening.

But after the fact, I realized that they had to do some cutting and get the tub fitted in after they took down the old tub. So, when all was said and done and they appeared to do some wiping, I saw the tech sweep. But after they left, I looked around and my whole bathroom was a mess with a layer of dust. I have open shelving where the tub was installed. I have five shelves full of linens, medications, shampoos and toiletries. Adjacent to that is an open-door which was my walk-in closet. Everything was totally covered in dust, including my clothes and all the boxes I have stored in there.

I also noticed that they had something on the floor because they did that throughout the house as they were dragging things in. But they did not put up anything and if they did, it was totally ineffective. I'm not physically capable of cleaning up that mess and it's not all cleaned up now 'cause I didn't wanna take all the boxes down off the shelves. It was a horrible mess. All they had to do was say something and we could've worked something out but they didn't say a word. Also, the floor in the bathroom has laminated wood on it. When my daughter washed the floor, it's not as shiny as it used to be and it doesn't wash up even. I'm totally disappointed and if somebody asked me about Safe Step, I would tell them of my experience with the installation. It was not cool at all.

I also had a little problem with the remote. The sales rep told me it's waterproof. But when my grandson took a bath, he dropped it in the water and it did not work. There was orange stuff dripping out of it. I called the company and they sent me a new replacement one, which I got in a timely manner. Then when they were installing, the technician had forgotten the cushion that fits on the feet. He said he had one in the truck and he would bring it in before he left, and he did not do that. I told Safe Step about that and they also shipped it with the new remote. They rectified the problem right away. The product itself is fine and I have no qualms with it. But it's hard to get the whole tub filled with warm water and twice, while somebody was in there using the tub, the breaker shut off. So, all of a sudden, I'm getting there in the dark with no action on the tub.

Everything was fine with the salesman. When I was talking to him when he came, I told him that I wanted the water to be the same temperature so I wouldn't have to mess with it at all. I can turn the water on and it would be hot enough but not boiling. They said they could do it and when I went to use it and turned it on, everything did come out fine. The tub works great. The heater is in the floor and the sink and they adjusted the water so that it’s the same temperature all the time. The installers were in and out. It was much less time than I thought it was gonna take and they installed everything perfectly as far as I can see.

I have pretty bad arthritis. The salesman told me that before Safe-Step designed the tub, they went to an arthritis place and talked to see what was more needed for people with arthritis. The installation went pretty good and the quality of their work was fine. The crew was here for a part of two different days. They seemed very nice and they did their part. I checked with them every once in a while and then they had started putting something down that I did not order. The surround was a different color than what I’d ordered so that stopped everything. They had to reorder that for me but they were fine with it. We got it back to exactly the way I ordered it.

The Safe Step tub was very expensive. But it's a good unit. I have everything that's supposed to come with it, the color, and then it has the heated seat. I was under the impression that it had a heater but it's not the heater exactly. It heats up the tub and it keeps the water from going cold. But it just barely warms because of my water heater. I need more hot water and I have a hot water heater ordered but it hasn't come in yet. There are also two grab bars on it.

The sales rep was a nice guy. The first week and a half that I had the tub installed, I didn’t use it at all because the drain part was busted and the water wouldn’t go out very quickly. They tightened it up too much and it busted. But somebody came and replaced it. So far, I’m the only one that’s seen the tub and I can’t really enjoy it simply because of the 55-gallon that goes into it. So much water goes in it that it doesn’t hold the heat. But it has nothing to do with the tub. My water tank is too small. By the time it gets halfway up, the water turns cold and I almost freeze to death. So I gotta get a bigger tank. I've only used the tub twice and if the water was warmer instead of getting kept chilly, it would be great.

The salesman was so professional and he was able to describe each single feature and why that particular feature is done superior to other brands. Not only comparing to other brands, but how they came across developing the improvements over years and how they would go to different places and get their opinions and they would prove on things. He was so knowledgeable in his product. We were just wanting to get a tub, but the things that they had with their microbubble thing would be perfect for dad’s skin. We bought it for my dad. With the videos that they showed us, they really, really sold the product and we’re very happy with it. Whereas the salesman from Kohler, they were mainly selling the brand. We wanna know if Kohler is a good brand, but he didn't really sell the tub, and it was twice the price of Safe Step. So it was almost like they were skating on their brand.

The installation went smoother than we can have imagined. I thought it would end up being a two-day job, but they got it done in about six hours. My father is very, very particular. He was the kind that would buy homes, fix them up and sell them. He’s really knowledgeable and you don’t want him looking over your shoulder. But he was very, very impressed with the installation. He couldn't believe they did what they did so cleanly and there wasn’t a scratch or nick on the wall.

My father was scared to take a shower and we kind of were guessing that he might’ve fallen and he did not tell us. So now that we have the walk-in tub, our comfort level is so much better because now we’re not afraid of him falling and not telling us. As far as his comfort level, he is like a little boy. The first time he used the bath, he had me sitting right outside the bathroom in case he needed my help because he was a little unsure. After that, he would call me up every day to tell me that his skin had never felt better. He was so excited. So I know he is definitely comfortable.

I saw that Safe Step had more attachments and I liked the big rain shower so, that drew me towards them. Then the salesman came here and presented me what it was like. And then I said, I wanna give him a chance. The only problem I had with it was when I saw the rain shower, I thought that extended towards the seat where you sit but it doesn’t. I’m handicapped a little bit, so I can’t stand up for an amount of time. So, that rain shower really doesn’t do me any good. And that’s the reason I bought it. If a pipe came out another five inches, then it would be fine. But other than that, it’s worked okay. The rest of the shower is nice. How we get in and out of it is fine too.

Safe Step's sales rep, Darius, was great. He's a nice guy and he answered all the questions. The installation guys were also great. I like the idea of the shower being in the tub. The only thing I don't like about it is they give you the small pillow to put your head against and it gets saturated with water, and it has to be constantly wrung and it won't get moldy. They could have an attachment or something on suction cups that would go on the back of the tub so you could put your head back on it. But other than that, my wife is happy. She had double knee replacement and she couldn't get in the other tub without help. With the walk-in tub, now she can get right in there with no trouble at all.

The door had to be changed to get the tub in. Also, we’re gonna have to get a new water heater because it’s not large enough. That would be a “nice to know” beforehand. The salesman should have said something. Moreover, the installers broke a glass door down at the carport, and I had to clean that up. The tub has a door that doesn’t fit too well. At the bottom on the entrance side, you can see the gasket and we just don’t trust that much. Other than that, the tub is working out well. I had an American Standard walk-in tub and the door leaked. They said they were gonna come out with a new door, but they can't even do that because the thing's out and there's no electricity hooked up, plus there's no plumbing. The whole unit is warped and I don't even think it's a tub. And it's been four months but they never came out to fix it.

Now, I purchased a Safe Step and my experience with their rep was excellent. And when the tub was installed, the contractors did it in one day. Their work is good quality and I had them add the safe water ozone cleaning system feature on the tub. No other company had it and it's my favorite feature so far. When you have sores, they condense oxygen molecules into tiny molecules and they're positively charged. As the skin is negatively charged, when it goes right into your skin, it goes pop and takes the germs out. All in all, I was very satisfied with Safe Step

I also like the convenience and the therapeutic value of how it feels so good when you can sit in the hot water for an hour at a time and have water moving around. I'm very satisfied. But the installers had a rough time on the day of the installation. It was pouring rain and they had to set up in the garage then come through the house to get to the upstairs bathroom. But they did a good job. They stretched a tarp all the way from the garage to the kitchen, to the dining room, to the hall, up the stairs, and around the corner to the bathroom. That way, they didn’t track in any dirt, dust or sawdust or anything. It turned out to be a very clean installation.

My husband and I are both enjoying our Safe Step walk-in tub. But we’ve taken more showers than baths. The installation team were some super guys. They did a really great job and were very, very thorough. They did everything in the same day. They left by 4:00 in the afternoon. Quinn, the sales rep has also been wonderful. I’ve called and he talked to me. And there’s a couple of things I want. I didn't get the cushion that goes in my seat. He said he’s gonna get that to me and then he gave me the liquid. But I don't think I'm gonna use a lot of that because I have asthma and I don’t like a lot of scent. But he said he thought I could. He’s very sweet.

The only thing is the time when you get in. You get the bottom jets going and you wait for the tub to fill up for about 20 minutes, and then the time letting the water out. That was when I would stand and have a shower. Also it says you gotta fill it up once a week to clean it with some Clorox. I haven't done that yet. And we haven't used the tub that much, but I am planning on getting on it. Old people just don’t move as fast as the young people do. But my daughter loves it. I have nothing against the tub. It’s just my time frame.

I’ve told everybody, “You need to get one.” And I said, “Let me know if you wanna check it out because I’ll give you a paper and we’ll send Quinn out.” We also had Kohler come out, and I said, "It’s just the difference between the sales rep and the performance and then taking you out to the van." Kohler is just no comparison, and I wouldn’t recommend them at all. But Safe Step I would.

Very nice rep; tub was made, delivered in an acceptable time frame and was installed in a day. Installation mess was fairly well cleaned up, but for the basement area, where I had to clean up from the drain installation and the electric work. All in all things are okay.

The installation person demonstrated tub but never suggested that I do it. Also he DID NOT turn on the big shower. HAD HE, I WOULD HAVE NOTICED THAT THE TOP OF THE TUB DOES NOT have a drain channel to run the water into the tub, instead the water follows the tub’s caulking of the installation and runs onto the floor. I think the shower deal was an competition, second thought. I had to fix a ”dam” to stop the runoff from going onto the floor. For the most part, I had to buy one and this relaxing. Other companies were much more expensive and not ready to comprise pricing. Safe Step’s price was satisfactory.

I needed to speak to the installer and he told me to look it up on the contract. He wasn't there to provide me phone numbers.

I have a fill-in piece behind the faucet to the wall, because my space is larger than normal. And the way that it is installed, I have to put a towel because water then drips on the floor because of that extra piece that is caulked into place to cover up the empty space. The installer is going to come back and recaulk when he is back in the area. Other than that, I love the tub.

My mom was very pleased with the rep. He did a very nice job and they were very pleased with that. And then, the installation went perfectly. The only thing that could be improved would be that Safe Step might want to advise people a bit better about water heater capacity in the actual sales of it. It needs to be a bigger water heater. But other than that, my mother loves it. She had a knee replacement. The tub enables her to have a nice normal bath and she likes it very much.

The installers got here at 7:30 and were gone by 11:15, and you couldn’t even tell they’d been in the house, except for the new tub. I purchased a Safe Step tub due to my age and my need for a safer bathing experience. I like the tub's ease of use and the quality is very good.

The sales rep was also great. We got Safe Step just in time. Bill had a stroke the next day. So, it came in real handy. If we hadn’t had it, he’d be in the hospital. He thought he’d wind up in the nursing home if we hadn’t had that. We’re satisfied. Bill keeps falling all over the place and it’s a safe thing for him. We had to go to the lawn closet and get a tub stool for him to sit on. This way, we have everything right there. We also like the shower.

Safe Step has been out there long enough to have cleared up any kind of problems so as far as any kind of working apparatus, we thought we'd go with them to get a walk-in tub. The rep we had was great and he answered questions for us that especially pertain to our family. Then the installers came early and finished quickly. There was one part that was broken so they had to bring another. When the tech came out with the part to fix it, I asked him where the shut off valves was. and he showed me. He said there was only one and that I needed one on each line. They came out again and installed one.

The installation was pretty exceptional as far as making it look like it fit in that area so we were pleased with that. Also, I've used all the features but the air bubbles really relax me. I can feel my skin. I have sinus problems and I don't know if it had something to do with it but I can sit there with the air bubbles around and it feels like I'm surrounded with something that's generating my skin. I've enjoyed that. The jets are very effective too. I do my Safe Step in the morning. I care give to my husband and my son so I get up in the morning and I spend 30 minutes in there at times just for myself.

The man that came out who we bought the Safe Step from was super nice and so was the crew that put it in. They all were perfect gentlemen and just as sweet as they could be. They set the tub in the living room when they got it. My husband is a large man and they made us get in it to make sure it was gonna be comfortable and everything. Then, they left the house perfectly clean. They cleaned up after themselves and took care of everything.

The only problem with the tub that I have is that I run out of hot water before it gets as hot as I want it to be. I had someone turn the hot water heater up. The man that sold it to me looked at the hot water too and said it was big enough, but it’s not as hot as it’ll go. But I love it. I have some neighbors that thought we were moving when they saw the tub out in the driveway and they called to see if we were moving. I said we were getting a Safe Step tub and a lot of them said they had been wanting one too. So I said whenever they want to come look at it, they're welcome to.

I thought that Safe Step would help him and it does help him walk better, makes his legs quit hurting, and he walks a little better since he's been getting in it. But I hate that I got it. I don’t like the way you have to clean it up. The tub is also really too little for him. His arm touches each side and he has trouble closing the door on him. Now, then they are advertising a walk-in shower. That’s what I wanted to start with. But the guys that were supposed to give me estimates would never get together and give me an estimate. So, I just let it go.

I was also getting a bath the day before yesterday and I bent over in the tub and something popped, and I didn’t know what it was. And then, the girl that gives my husband a bath comes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to help clean the house and give him his bath. When I went in there to clean up the tub, the piece on the back, like a knob-like back there, was off and I couldn't get it back on, and the jets wouldn't work when it's off. I called the number that they gave me and they said that they would talk to somebody and then they’d call me back, but I've not gotten a call back yet.

I’ve been getting vouchers in the mail and I get Safe Step on the television on Pat Boone and on Play Bridge Hall. The installers came in the morning and took the old tub out, and put the walk-in tub in. They were clean about it. The only thing is, the reps at Safe Step balanced the numbers a little bit wrong. $14,000 is a lot of money and my first payment was 200-and-something. I was told that I was gonna pay $188. They got three extra charges that I didn’t know about and I wasn’t told about.

Safe Step said that they gave us a discount for the hot water heater because they said we knocked it out. But now, the hot water heater isn’t big enough to handle that tub. They need to inform their customers how big the hot water needs to be. It gets to about two inches above the seat and then, it turns ice-cold. It's not very comfortable to be sitting in the water that way but I like the bubble bubbling around my back. I get into the tub, sit down and be comfortable while taking a bath. I don’t have to sit down flat and may not get up. I got arthritis and I’m 79-years-old, and it’s gonna be a relief to me.

When we were buying the Safe Step tub, we didn't hit the price till the tail-end. The rep said the first process was to get me all these discounts. Then he asked me how I was gonna pay for it and I said we would pay by check. He told me he could give me $1,000 off. I asked him if 1,000 is the interest and if it was, then it should be 2,000. He said that AARP gave them high ratings and that the tub is good for older people. But I thought if AARP was giving them the A-1 rating, then why wouldn't they give us a break and give us 2,000? Though the discounts helped, it was cut in half. I was wondering why he wouldn't tell me upfront that if I pay cash, then I'm gonna get this discount and if I refinance it, then it won't be available. He snuck it on me.

Even though I liked the rep and he was knowledgeable and he spoke clearly and explained everything, the discounts were the types of things that I'd like to know. I would like people to tell me upfront. If he gave me the price before, I probably would've said no. He told me it was gonna cost quite a bit and that it would be about the cost of a small car which I thought was around 16,000. But in the end, it was 23,000 which is not a small car but a big car. I had no idea what those walk-in tubs cost. I never researched Safe Step but I liked what it was advertising, as far as therapy with those spray things, which I thought my wife would benefit from.

Also, when the rep came in and talked about it, he said that there were only about three companies in the nation and they're all USA-made, which was a big plus for me. The tub looks good and so far, it hasn't leaked. The two people who put it in were nice too. I got the impression they did this a lot 'cause they seemed to be real good at it. They were personable so I enjoyed talking with them.

The installation of our walk-in tub was quick and the installers did a very good job the first time they were here. Then when I wanted to add the shower mechanism, the technician that they sent out took a very long time. He also didn't have that level of expertise that I would've liked. I had to call the company back because he did a really bad job of the caulking. Later, my son was painting the room in there and he said there was caulk missing in several spots.

Plus, the cost of having the shower afterward was really high. When they advertised it, they can add that when you buy it for $800 and then about 2,300 to add it after the fact is exorbitant. What the tech did was strictly a plumbing and caulking job and he didn't have to tear the wall apart. It took him six to eight hours to do that. The walk-in tub looked really good but I'm somewhat disappointed in the fact that it uses a lot of water. They didn't bring that up.

The sales representative came to the house and showed me what he had. I was kinda disappointed with him because he didn't really tell me the size of the tub. He gave me the measurements and he said if I could fit in this recliner, I'm set. That's how big it would be. But I was kinda like misled. I barely fit in there and I could barely close the door. Then, they came in and they put it up on a ledge so my tub is up on this ledge.

I get in the tub pretty good but with that ledge, I'm really scared of falling trying to get out of that tub. I don't use it enough because of that. I tried calling the company and see if they could come and take that ledge out. But they don't do that kind of stuff. And I can't have anybody else do it because that breaks my warranty on my tub. I'm kinda stuck with this tub that I can't always get in and out of because of the way they installed it.

The installers were nice, but they really didn't tell me about the ledge. My husband said, "Well, do whatever you want." And so, they left it. I figured they could've been a little bit more aware what was gonna happen, me getting in and out of that tub. I paid $15,000 for a tub and you would think that they would've done installation right. I'm dissatisfied with the customer service after the job is done. They haven't called me back and they haven't responded to my problem.

Other than that, the many bubbles are my favorite. I have my left knee replaced in July and it was half-numbed from the calf down. After twice in the pool with the bubbles on, that numb feeling went away in that half and it's only on my lower leg now.

We had an interest in a Safe Step Walk-in Tub for a long time because we moved from the north in Virginia, down here in 1996, and we had a house built. It was the only house we’ve ever had built which was one of the mistakes that we made. That tub that we had there was too small for me. Neither one of us felt comfortable getting in and out of it at all. I was in it one time and my wife was never in it in 23 years. So, it was waste of space, and the shower that’s in that bathroom is fine for my wife, but it’s a little small for me. I didn’t feel claustrophobic, but I thought to myself, “Just one of these days, I’m gonna fall down in this shower, and I’m not gonna be able to move to get up.”

The way our house is laid out, the other bathroom has a much larger shower in it. It’s just a shower, but it’s as long or as big as a tub. But because of the way our house is laid out, it never gets used. So, the only time it gets used is when we have guests. That’s our fault. We had looked into a walk-in tub a number of years ago and we just decided it was too expensive for us. But then, the more we lived in a house that had a corner with a regular tub in it with a few jets that never got used in 20 years, we decided we needed to do something with it.

The thing that I liked most about the Safe Step sales representative was he lives real close to us and we were able to go over to his house and take a look at his tub. We got a good first-hand view of the operation there. Plus, he was very knowledgeable. He’s a little older fellow. Not quite as old as I am, but older anyway, which is something he just picked up after doing something else for a number of years, and he was real good at what he did. Also, the installers did a nice job. There is one little place in the wall right next to the tub that they chipped out but it’s no big deal. Even somebody with the limited ability that I have with my hands could fix that.

I like that I don’t have to worry about falling down getting in and out. That’s the big thing. The back jets are what I like best about it. My wife and I both have lower back problems. It has more jets in it than the tub that we had, and I like the shower that’s in it. The one we looked at before was just a walk-in tub. It didn’t have a shower. The tub has solved the problem for us in terms of safety, both from the size standpoint and from the be-able-to-walk-in-and-out standpoint. It’s going to be very beneficial to us in terms of being able to use the whirlpool features in it.

I had a question whether or not we were going to replace or get a larger hot water heater. After filling the tub up a couple times, it’s plenty warm enough, but if we needed hot water again immediately, it wouldn’t be there. The tub probably has more capacity than what our hot water heater is. So, we need to replace our hot water heater probably when this one wears out. When we have to replace it anyway, we’ll just get a larger one. I’m trying to find out and I didn’t find out from the fellow that sold us the tub. We live in a subdivision. There are about 400 houses in here, and I was just curious to know and I didn’t find out if there were any others in the neighborhood because eventually, when we sell this house one of these days, that’s going to be a big benefit to us. But other than that, we are pleased with the tub. It’s an expensive item, but it’s going to be to our advantage. I’m gonna tie my wife up and throw her in there to get her to use it one time.

It's got shelves around it and I told the guy to make the shelves where they drain back in the tub, but he got it where when you take a bath, it runs water out in the floor. The pipes to the shower should extend out about four to six inches more where it gets the showerhead out in the tub to not blowing water all over the place. I think they've got the same shower fixture for all sizes of tub, and it's made for the small tub. I got the medium-sized tub which puts it too far to the front.

Also, you gotta have the tub filled up to the overflow or the jets on your back shoot water all over the place. But then if you slump down in the tub to get the jets fired up on your neck or something, you run all the water out, and when you sit back up, it shoots water all over the place. You got to remember when you sit down to turn the jets off before you get back up in the tub. The jets should have been a little lower in it keeping it from coming out of the water when you sit back up in the tub.

Another thing is they don't have any detent on the shut-off on the water valve. So, if you just barely touch it, it turns the water on. It turns one way to go to the shower and it turns the other way to go to the faucet, but there's no detent on the off position. You just try to center it up and get both of them to quit leaking. If you're cleaning the tub and you bump it, you end up turning the showerhead on, giving you a bath while you're cleaning the tub.

They also need the drain to position where it cams over and locks in the open position because you gotta sit there and hold the drain open until it gets down to about half before the drain will stay open in the bottom of it because the force of the water going out pulls the drain close. I called them on that right after I got it and they said I could adjust it. Well, you can adjust it, but you get to the point where the drain doesn't close.

For the price they're charging for it, you would want everything to be perfect. And they're not charging a small price for their tub. You also need to have a good water heater to run this tub. It has to be better than a 40-gallon water heater. I had a 40-gallon water heater, which is as big as you would get into the hole I have, but I ended up spending another $2,000 to put in an inline water heater so I can fill this tub.

The sales rep explained everything very well and showed us the movie and everything going on that it would do. That was what really got us. I needed the tub done quickly and the installers were very quick and confident in themselves with what was going on around them -- we have two dogs but they don't bite. I haven't got to use the tub much 'cause I fell and broke my leg in two places and it went up into my knee. And I'm in the hospital. That was why I needed the tub. I used the tub probably five times and it was great. We're getting a new water heater, the tankless one, to have all the hot water we want. My mother-in-law, sister-in-law and husband live there so we got four people taking showers, but my mother-in-law and I use that shower.

We listened to their sales pitch and felt the tub they recommended was right for me. I am disabled with rheumatoid arthritis. When the installers arrived, they were unable to install the tub due to the angle of the door. They would have to do some serious destruction. They suggested a smaller tub. I can’t use a smaller one because I am plus size. I have requested my deposit returned. I sent a form they provided, a phone message and an email. Any reputable company would have immediately returned my deposit. Legal action is the next step.

We purchased Safety Step for safety reasons since we had a tub there that was too high for us to get into. We also had a shower but it was too easy to slip, to fall in there. The sales representative was very knowledgeable and polite. It was nice working with him. The installation took all day, but the young men who did it were really nice to work with and fun to talk to.

The Safe Step sales rep was very polite, but he didn’t give us a choice of the tub that we could pick out. It was our fault because we did not ask him what kind of choices do we have. The installation team was great. They came in, they cleaned up and they were polite too. And any furniture that had to be moved in order for them to bring the tub in, they put it back in place without any problem. I like that Francis can sit down and enjoy taking a shower in our Safe Step Walk-in Tub. His favorite feature is the jets. He’s getting a massage with it. I like everything about it. I just wish it's a little wider because the way the door is, he can barely get in. But it was our fault. We should’ve asked for a door that swung out instead of one that swung in. The only problem I have with it is when you let the water full almost up to the top and you put on the back jets and sit on it, it hits your back and the water comes over the top of the tub.

I’d just taken my old one out and set it down in its place when I put the tile down. When I complained, the rep called me back and he said, “I thought I explained it to you that the sides and the back wasn’t built in.”

I did research online and there was some independent study that recommended Safe Step as the top one for people with arthritis. It was very good with the sales rep, except for the fact that he said it takes about three minutes to fill up, and that’s way off. I was a little skeptical at the time, but it takes about eight minutes. It takes three minutes to drain, but I know he said three minutes to fill up. And so, that was a little disappointing to me. The installation team was as nice as they could possibly be, and very professional. I had some electricians out that were working on something else at the time. My house is 100 years old so it’s a lot easier to put stuff on the outside of the house than it is inside and through the house because of the plaster walls. And so, the installation team took the wiring outside, and my electrician noticed and told me that he believed the wiring was not up to code for the outside of the house.

So, I talked to the installation guy about it and he was not aware of that. But my electrician had previously been a building inspector and was extremely knowledgeable. I also had an electrician out there not to check on the Safe Step guys but for other reasons, and he just happened to be looking around, seeing what he was doing. Anyway, the Safe Step installation guy went out to Lowe’s, got the wiring that was recommended by my electrician and redid the whole thing. I appreciated that a lot.

I like the tub's versatility of being able to use it as a shower or tub. But I haven’t really fully utilized it yet. And that seems pretty silly since I’ve had it for a month and a half but there have been mitigating factors. I had my whole bathroom renovated from top to bottom by my contractor, and there’s still some caulking that hasn’t been completed. Plus, we had a bunch of out of town company. But one of the big reason I haven’t been enthusiastic about it is the water temperature. It says there’s an override feature and I haven’t been able to get that to work.

I tried doing research online to find out and I never did follow up on it, but there’s a safety mechanism that restricts the temperature to 102 degrees and that’s just not very hot for me. 102 is just too cool for a really soothing, therapeutic bath for me. I would much more enjoy it if it could be a little hotter. It says if you turn the temperature knob a certain way, that you can override that safety valve and you can get it hotter, but I have not been able to get that to work.

The instruction book says that if you’re on any kind of medication, you should check with a doctor before using the jets, I suppose. But that should’ve been discussed with me before I bought it. You don’t wait till you put in a $16,000 tub and then consult with your doctor to see if it’s all right to use it. Also, the time you get the tub filled up and drained back out is 45 minutes, which is just too long. Safe Step had to widen my door frame to get the tub in and they left kind of a messed up wall. I had to get a contractor to come in and fix it up. But they ended up paying for it, which I was satisfied for. Also, the holding bracket that holds the plumbing in for the overhead rainfall shower is loose and I’ve got somebody coming in today to fix that. Plus, I’m gonna end up having to get a larger capacity water heater because the tub runs out of hot water before it fills all the way up if we’re using other things in the house, like the oven or something else that uses gas. So, that’s some extra money I was planning on using. I got to fill the tub with water at one time, albeit with cool water at the end. Other than that, it’s a nice unit and I like the convenience of being able to take a shower or sit in there and soak as soon as I get a bigger hot water heater where I can do it more often.

The sales rep was good and he was fair, but I kind of expected him to get back in touch with us after the tub was installed to see how everything went. I haven’t heard a hi and hey from him since then. Also, it took the installers longer than it was supposed to do the installation, which I understand. But when they sold it to us, I was told it was gonna be a really simple installation. We just had the condo that we just bought painted. It turned out that the installers needed to cut a couple of holes in the ceiling. Now, I gotta get those plastered and repainted. This was unbeknownst to me. And that may have also shorted them the correct splash guard the correct color so they used a different color from what we had actually paid for.

Other than that, the tub seems to be okay. It’s working pretty well right now. I haven’t used it that much but my wife’s used it a little bit. It was just the fact that the installation was disappointing. It could have been quicker but there was the wrong stuff along and everything. We didn’t refuse having the installation done because we had waited quite a while to have it installed. I didn’t wanna wait again.

I signed up with him immediately and gave him the deposit. But it kinda went downhill from there. I saw him around August the 14th or 15th, and the situation with my wife, my son was moving back. He was gonna be here for a week in September, so I asked for a specific date in September. Unfortunately, I got a call about two weeks before the date from some lady at the company. She called my cellphone and my house phone and we were at Walmart. I didn't answer the cellphone, I didn't really recognize the caller and didn't answer the house phone.

When I called her back, I had asked for the date about September the 15th, which at the time was almost six weeks exactly from the time I signed the contract. She said that I didn't answer the phone, so they gave that date to somebody else. She said I can do it the following week and I said that won't do me any good. We ended up not getting it installed till December the 4th. That was the worst of the experiences. The installation went very quickly and the installers were very professional. They knew what they were doing and even talked to the guy about replacing the water heater.

I've had some minor trouble with the tub and I've had trouble getting ahold of them. I get quite a number of spam calls. So I didn't answer the calls and return calls. I never could get the person that called me. I finally got ahold of them and they said that they've had somebody signed up to come out and fix them. I got a call this week to come out. The customer service wasn't the best, though they were polite, but the tub is great. It's bigger than the tub that was in there so it's much easier to get in and out and get my wife cleaned up. There's a drop down seat, where my wife can sit in the shower. That was a big help. I wasn't that thrilled about the rain showerhead, but the hand wand is great. I would highly recommend them to anybody that needed the shower.

They had a really good visit. And then, when I had a question later, I called her. She didn't answer, but she got back to me right away at the same day. She's very pleasant to talk to. During the installation, my brother was there with them. He said they showed and explained everything to him. I've been up there since and the tub looks great. My mom has used it a couple of times. She hasn't used the tub as far as filling up with water and using any of the heating , but my brother has and he said it's excellent. He likes the heating and the jets. They felt really good on his back.

It's a little bit better since Mom has been using the tub. She still needs help. She won't get in there by herself. I've been going up there once a week and bathing her. The only complaint I do have about it is the size of the tub as far as the door. I'm sure there's a special reason why the door has to swing in, but I wish it would swing out, only because once I get her in, it's kinda hard to maneuver around there to close the door. Even her being 98 pounds and five-foot, she's got little legs. I have to have her sit down and then move her knees way off to the side so that I can close the door. And then getting her out, opening the door, I have to tell her to sit down and then get up. I've used it to shower, and the shape of the door is awkward and the length of the tub is kind of awkward with the way the door swings. If the door swung out, that would be perfect.

In the bathtub, my wife would get dizzy. And if she was standing up showering, she has the mat there but then it still might slip. And she would get dizzy bending over to pick up a rag or soap. So, she had the lady from Safe Step come out and we looked at everything. The sales rep was great. She went detail by detail, explained everything, showed us everything and how everything should work. I found out a few other benefits by having it also. And when they put it in they did the same thing. They went over everything and showed us how everything worked. The installation went well. I looked at it. They dug it out, cleaned it out and put all the pipes. They insulated it and then they finally came down and got the tub and put it up in there, and in another two hours, they had it just about ready to go.

I got one objection against it though. It’s where you hang the middle shower. It twists and then it just falls over and it needs to be tightened up, and I don’t see any way to tighten it up. But I like the bubbles and the jets. It’s also a whole lot safer and when you go in there, you’re comfortable and not afraid to do what you have to do and you can sit down or shower.

I get in the tub and I relax. I also knew that Safe Step was made in the U.S. The representative they sent out was a physical therapist and he knew a lot about issues that would help me. The installation team that came was also excellent. I was impressed with the quality of their work and their friendliness. I just need to get some questions answered from Safe Step though, and I don’t know who to call.

He told me they would fix the tile floor, but they came in unannounced, and they did not do such things. I had to pay someone to get that done. So far, we like everything about the tub. The installation went really well. They put in a handheld shower and they finished about 2 o'clock.

They came in and put the drop cloth down and from the front entrance all the way to the bathroom, and they cleaned up after themselves. They got here around 8 o'clock and they got finished before lunch. And everything that they took out, they took it with them. My husband thought that the Safe Step tub would help his back because he had back problems. So, it's good, but I'm gonna put a heat lamp over it to make it stay warmer. We got cathedral ceilings. So far, I can only fill the tub up until my knees. Also, I have to put in a new water heater. I use the bottom jets and I like those. This tub is expensive but it's gonna be worth it.

We had been wanting to get a tub and I wanted one that had a shower. My husband is having some mobility issues right now, so this was something that we were wanting to get into in the future, but we decided to go ahead and do it now. The sales representative from Safe Step was good, very friendly, funny and he had a lot of information. It just bothered me that they wouldn’t give me a ballpark figure. I called because I wanted to know how much the tub was but they would never tell until somebody comes into the home. We weren’t looking at doing it right now and my husband hates having people come into our home. I know that they have to get into all of the details but that always kinda drives me crazy because I feel like it’s supposed to be this big surprise. Lowe’s have walk-in tubs and I could look them up so, I could get an idea of what a ballpark figure is, but Safe Step was the only one that had the stand-up shower.

I wasn’t looking for all the other bells and whistles. I didn’t care about the chromotherapy and the infusion therapy. If it hadn’t been for the fact that we really wanted a tub like this, when the rep from Safe Step wouldn’t give me any kind of price on the phone or give me any kind of detail, I probably would have just hung up on them. They could have told me the range and the basic. If I wanted to get all the other stuff, they could have someone come in and tell me all about the wonderful features. Then, we could decide for ourselves. With this, it’s kinda forced on you. I don’t like playing games, and this is what it seems like to me. They should have enough confidence in their product to give you the information that you’re asking for and then trust that if you are really interested in this, then you would decide to have them in your home, and you invest in presentation.

The two gentlemen who came out and delivered the tub were very friendly. They were very forthcoming with the gentleman that put the tub in and very helpful. Safe Step is a better quality tub than what you can get. It has got more to offer than what they have in Lowe’s. I like all of it. I like being able to soak and we ended up getting the chromotherapy. I haven’t used the infusion thing yet, but the lights are kinda nice. I probably still like the shower the best. I’ve never had a hand-held shower before. I always had a stand-up shower, and this has both and I like that. The only thing that I’m not happy with is it’s very expensive. You could get the basic tub for $2,000 at Lowe’s but the basic from Safe Step is $10,000, which is a big jump. Right now, they’re saying that the shower package is free, so they’re not even charging for that. So, that’s what they’re charging for the tub, which is a bit high.

They should redesign the top of the tub part or the showerhead that’s coming up because you're standing there and you got the curtain all the way pulled, but the water just comes underneath it up on the hob part. The tub should be slanted in and it should be a little ridged like on your sinks. They should make sure to redesign more of a set for just the like spa-type tub.

I’m afraid I’m gonna be cold. But once I get in, I’m not. The seats heat up and then it takes a while before the water comes up. I don’t usually let it go all the way. I’m afraid it’s gonna overflow. I felt it would be easy to go in and do what I have to do. I have it now. I can’t change, but I don’t like the idea of sitting there for a while and then letting it fill up but I’ll manage with it.

The installation was fine. The contractors did what they had to do and they were very nice. The whole project took all day until about 3:00 in the afternoon. They came around 7:30 in the morning. I had always wanted to know how much walk-in tubs cost. I saw Safe Step advertised and I thought the time had come. I couldn't get in my bathtub. I scheduled somebody to come out and the salesman was terrific. The guys who put the thing in were great too. I never saw anything like it. When they came and checked everything, they said it would be a mess to bring everything in my house because of the way my house was. It was hard getting everything in the back door, making a turn and making a thing to the hallway.

Also, about 20 years ago, we put in this beautiful one-piece tub-shower thing. There was a window that they closed off with siding and junk and they put the one-piece tub shower thing. It was gorgeous. When the Safe Step installers came in to work, I thought it was gonna be a nightmare. But what they did was that they took the siding and the insulation off, made a great big hole where the bathroom was and broke up the beautiful one-piece thing that I had. They took that out through the house and they had stuff on the floor so that they wouldn't make a mess. Then I don't know how they did it, but they redid the setup. They rebuilt the wall. After they took the actual tub, they had a guy outside putting all the stuff together and then they lifted it and put it in the room.

They got here around 7:30 and they were gone by 4:00 in the afternoon. They didn't even take lunch. The four guys worked like clockwork. There were no arguments. Everybody had his job. I sat in the living room and did nothing, and when they left, the bathroom was gorgeous. You wouldn't know anybody did anything. It was really unbelievable. What a fantastic experience. I really was expecting a stress-filled day but it wasn't at all. When my daughter came home, I told her to look outside and see if she would notice anything. She said it looked exactly the same. She asked if the installers had not come. She thought she was gonna come in to see a mess as well and she couldn't believe it. It was like they were never there. Not only that, they were really nice guys too.

For somebody who loves baths, the Safe Step tub is really great. My problem is is that I don't like baths. I never did. By the time I wanna get up there, I'm bored already. I have to sit there and wait for the tub to fill up and then do the jacuzzi. So what I usually do is I get in the shower and I let the water run until it covers up to my calves then I use the hand shower or I use the shower-shower. But the tub really is a stress reliever and it's just very convenient. At least I can be clean now. There's also a little light in that tub and it's really nice. It warms up the seat. If you like to sit in a tub and the jacuzzi, it's really out of this world. I'm really satisfied.

If we had been smart we would have said no right from the beginning, but we really wanted a new tub so we went with it. The tub we wanted and thought we ordered was sent to a warehouse in Florida and we live in Vermont. Keep in mind this was in September. The installers finally came on October 30th. They arrived at 8am and were here until 11pm.

The tub they installed was the wrong one. We wanted an out swinging door we got inward. No headrest, no remote and no towel bar. The shower bar was in the middle of the tub so that's where the curtain hung. We purchased a new bar that was curved. It helped some. The weep drain was never hooked up. They left a big hole under the tub and no insulation. Tub was not level. Caulking was poorly done. We have been trying to get these issues taken care of. And we just get a big run around. SO DISAPPOINTED. It has been 4 months and nothing. My husband and I both have health issues and was really looking forward to this tub. I have fallen in a tub before. So like I said SO DISAPPOINTED.

The tub takes care of my wife's needs. I like how easy it is for my wife to get in and out of it. The sit down part, to sit on the tub, that part is kind of a takeaway for me because I know how much water it takes to fill the tub up to do a full bath, a bubble bath. It takes a lot of water and that makes our water bill go up. And I need a larger water heater because by the time I load all the water into my tub for her to use the jets, it’s turning back to cold. It’s not warm like it should.

My husband, Charlie, doesn’t like the Safe Step and doesn’t wanna use it. At times, he will have issues and will want me to come in the bathroom. If he just got over a hematoma in his leg and it was hurting really bad, he'd want me to come in the bathroom and be in there so he’d feel safe in the regular shower. Also, neither one of us can get up and down in the tub. I really was hoping that the Safe Step tub would be good for him. He did too and was disappointed with the whole thing.

The first time he was in the tub, he soaked for a while, then he took the wand and showered off. He ended up with water on the backside of the tub and it ran down to what I call the front of the tub where the faucets and stuff are. Then it ran off the shelf and on to the floor. When he finished, he had a mess to clean up and was not a happy camper. To him, he would’ve restructured that so it wasn’t sloping off. And the installers didn’t make it even with the tub. I put a towel to catch the water the next time he used it, but it was soaked so he just quit using it. I talked to Eric and he understood, but he said they didn't have that many issues with people.

I like the microjets. It is nice as far as your skin and I have noticed a little bit of difference there. But I also have issues with the tub. I’ve had surgery on my back, the whole way down, so I have some tension and some tightness in my muscles over on my shoulder. Also, I am tall and I have long legs. For me to get down in the water enough for my shoulders to soak and get the jets on it, I have to have my knees all the way down to the end of the tub. But when my knees are clear to the end, my feet or legs are bent back somewhat, and my toes are jammed against the end of the tub. I used to have a hot tub a long time ago and I could get in that, stretch out, relax, and go to sleep. The Safe Step is not totally relaxing to me, to be that cramped in trying to get situated where you’re comfortable at.

I haven’t been in it in weeks and Charlie hasn’t either. We both would rather go take a shower in the other bathroom. I finally decided to get in last night. I sat there relaxed but my toes started bothering me. So, I moved them and my feet and got a cramp in my leg because of the position I was in. I didn’t have a clue that Safe Step had them longer than just regular-size. I don’t know what could be done, if anything. Eric said he would take care of it, but I haven’t heard back from him. I’m glad that we got a discount, but still, $15,000 is a lot of freaking money for a tub.

Safe Step had one of their installers drop off our tub for us. We went over a couple of details and we installed it ourselves. That experience with them was wonderful. The front of the tub is made of a thinner plastic which is made to pop off all over the place. I have to put it on and it's a little bit flimsy. I also have to caulk around it. It is really made for remodeling projects. But people still have new constructions. If Safe Step can come up with models for new constructions, that would be a benefit as it would look better cosmetically. It would also be stronger from the very start.

There is also a nail flange at the back of the tub. Most tubs for new constructions are put in before the sheetrock. The installer slides it in and the sheetrock goes over a flange and keeps it from moving. With the tub we got though, it’s designed more for tear-outs. This tub is for our girl who is having a hard time with regular showers. With this tub, she doesn't have to step over anything. It has a seat as well which makes it a lot more comfortable for her. She uses it sitting down and with it, she doesn't have to worry about falling.

Eric, the Safe Step sales rep that came out, was all right. He's got money to make too, but the absence of information is what did this because we've got a tub that we can't use now. We got it for the wife who is obese and a diabetic, but we couldn't get the door closed. I went out on the internet, picked up some information and stuff on it. I knew it was not gonna be an easy install. Apparently, they have three different sizes of tubs that we didn't know about. We were hoping to fit a new one in there, because the one that they put in there was awfully tight. Safe Step was supposed to get back with us. Eric said he'd see what they could do about this. He's gonna have to come out and make some measurements. Our address is remote. To get to us, they have to come out of Denver, Colorado.

We called Eric on Monday and he said he'd get back to us. By Monday of this week, he hasn't called, so I called the main office and they said they'd get back to me the same day, and I haven't heard back from them yet either. I used the tub once, but other than that, we're stuck with it. I had plumbing and stuff set aside so they could do all these. The guys who installed it were professionals. They were young, ambitious men, and they went to work and they didn't mess around. They were good workers.

I have to get the manual out and go through it 'cause I know there were some things they said about what to do and not to do. While the electricians were good, the installers didn't put stuff back where they had taken it from. So, one bedroom is a mess with all the other stuff in a corner. They could have put some of the stuff back where they got it from. As far as the inspection, we need to have it rescheduled and make sure that the electrician is here because these county employees will not wait. We tried to get the inspection, but the electrician was not here and the inspector could not wait for him. I even tried to get him to wait so I could call to find out where the electrician was, and he just said no and he was gone.

My wife and I both have problems with our joints and things in old age. We thought maybe a tub like Safe Step, with all the water jets in it, might help us loosen up our joints. But so far, we haven't been able to find out because we can’t get it full of hot water. When they sold us the bathtub, they should’ve told us the size of the water heater we’d need. I've got a 53-gallon tank and I thought that’d be enough, but it is not of sufficient size to fill the tub with hot water so we're gonna have to put in a new one. That’s an expense I have to have now. It’s also a discomfort having to wait until I can get a plumber out here to redo the water heater and get rid of a perfectly good one in order to get a bigger one. I'm dissatisfied with Safe Step.

We spoke with a representative on the phone about the Safe- Step -Tub. We agreed to have a sales person contact us which contacted us the same afternoon. The price and installment information was explained to us in detail when we had our meeting with the salesman. He measured everything and helped us decide on the best option for us. The installation went exactly as we had been told, in and out in one day with the finished work completed as explained it would be. We love our tub, My husband has Parkinson's and I have Fibromyalgia. This tub has made such a difference in our lives. I no longer worry about my husband falling while bathing and the soothing jets give me relief with my worse days of Fibromyalgia. I have called with questions twice and received a call back within the same day. Would recommend this company and this tub to anyone.

I purchased a Safe Step for my mother. She's 85 and has limited mobility, so we were looking for an easier way for her to get in and out of a tub. We went with them because they do their own installation, and so we liked the fact that we were not buying a tub from one place and have someone else install it. Also, we liked the overall package. The sales call was great. We were well already sold on it, so he didn’t have to convince us very much. We made the deal on his first sales call, and they scheduled the installation very promptly -- it was installed within three weeks. They had a crew of three guys who came out, and they started at eight o’clock in the morning and they were gone before 3:00 in the afternoon. When it was done, it was perfect. My mom enjoys the tub and it makes her feel safe. She is always taking baths, and she can take baths again. We are very pleased with it.

I'm absolutely furious, I'm ready to have this tub torn out. The two fine young men came and put the tub in. They worked very hard even late into the evening to get it done. The salesman, however, lied to me. He told me that the tub would be all right in there with my commode, but it is not. There is a door, then on the left side, there is another door that has got the step behind it. It is pushing that open about an inch, so there is not really a room for it in there. It needs to have a smaller commode which I will have to find to get in there. I don't blame the kids because they were wonderful. But, they were also supposed to leave me a book so I would know how to use it, and they forgot it. But that was partly my fault, too.

The first time I got in to use it, I filled it up, thought it was wonderful, and then I couldn't get up because I couldn't open up the valve to have the water go out. So, I was in the tub for about two hours until I finally got someone from customer service who told me how to get it open -- I went from about three different people. It was too hard to open, so my husband had to open it up for me. But we did get it open. I've had one bath in it since I've got it, and I'm not taking another one until I get a book and know how to use it.

I called Brian who is evidently in our area, and he was wonderful. He got somebody named Chris that was going to come out and see what was wrong. We had him scheduled for a meeting one day, and then I had a procedure that had to be done. I had to call Brian and tell him that the guy couldn't come because I had to be in the hospital at that time. I've called Brian a couple of times since and asked him could he reschedule this guy. I would never recommend Safe Step to anybody, and I wouldn't keep the tub myself if it wasn't already in. I'm ready to have it out of my home and have them put back what they took out.

I’m 85 and I've had sciatica and spinal stenosis for a couple of years now. It keeps getting worse and I can’t take any medication for it. So when I heard about Safe Step, I thought it might be ideal for me. I ran into a problem when I tried to get in by myself. I couldn’t manage to empty the tub. I called the company my first time in and they told me they would have the installer call me. This was two days after it was installed. That was 11:30 in the morning on a Thursday, and then I didn’t hear from anybody till Friday at 5:00. I ended up calling the fire department to help me get out of the tub because my husband is handicapped. He’s been living for 55 years with MS and he tried to get in the bathroom and help me bale it out with a little bucket but we weren’t successful. And because of the arthritis in my hands, I couldn't open the latch to let the water out, and it was a mess. I sat there for about an hour, and of course I got cold.

The installer called me and said, ‘I heard you had a problem.” I said, “Yes, I did, yesterday morning.” He said, “I’ll be over there in 20 minutes.” He came in and he didn’t know I was sitting on the bed in the bedroom where my bathroom is. I was sitting on the bed keeping an eye on him and he was on his hands and knees in the back of the thing he had taken the side off, and he was doing some adjustments in there. There was something amiss in there and he closed everything up. He didn’t know I was there listening and watching. He was surprised and said, “That won’t happen again.” I said, “It better not.” And he left.

There was another instance. I'm in a condo here in Pembroke Pines and when you install something like that, you need to have a ticket. While the techs were installing it the first day, the condo police, our guard Mike, and another man with a flip board came in and said, ‘Where is your permit?” I said, ‘I don’t know.” I asked the installer. “Oh, you gotta call the office.” I called the office. "Where is my permit?" They said, "We’re gonna e-mail it right away.” I said, “Don’t e-mail it to me. My printer is not working.” I just got that permit yesterday. I raised hell which didn’t do any good. It was frustrating for me. They were supposed to deliver them the day before, and I was supposed to have the inspection today. I wouldn't recommend this for any other 85-year-old. It’s really hard on the nerves.

I felt comfortable with the presentation at the time. The sales rep was great. But the installation wasn’t what I thought it would be. When the gentleman first came out, they were okay, but as the installation went on, I didn’t know it was gonna put so much dust in my house. And I just brought my husband home from the hospital. So that kinda went against his respiratory system.

They changed us from a shower to the walk-in tub. They had to remove the step from the shower, so there was a lot of cement dust everywhere. After the fact, they put up the plastic to keep it from getting on my side of the bedroom. But by the time they put it up, all that dust was all over the room. So we could not go back in our room for almost a month. My husband has been diagnosed with cancer, which was the second reason that I went ahead and got the walk-in tub. I was trying to get a seat to sit in the shower, so he can sit, and I don’t have to worry about him falling.

The gentleman who installed it was not happy with the worker that he had. I went into the bathroom but he gave me impression he didn’t want me in there. They had to remove my doorframe going into my bedroom to get the tub in there. When they put the doorframe back, now the door jams. I talked to Caitlin and I've also talked to someone named Bill. I explained to them that my husband just recently got out of the hospital again, and they’ve indicated that they will come out and check for me.

Another problem is the way the showerhead was installed. We got the tall one that you can take up and down, and the showerhead is almost on top of it. They told me to just move it around. But if I move it around, the water splashes all over the bath shelving that I have, plus if I move it a different way, it splashes over the other way and it leaks on the floor. When I'm taking a shower, I don’t leave the water on because I don’t want water all over my floor.

The selling point about this tub is how fast the water goes out. It’s an old house and maybe the water runs slow, but my husband has to sit in that tub for almost 10 minutes. Now, I got the seat warming but he doesn’t like that. He's not a bath person. He’s always been a shower person. He's probably impatient with it and with it taking so long to fill the tub up. The more that I try to use the shower, the more dissatisfied I am in getting with it because it’s not what they advertised and if it was a discrepancy of where they had to put the tub itself, I wish someone would have said it to me. I've had a lot to have this put in but if it wasn’t going to work out, I would have paid to have my shower put back in. Right now, it’s just an inconvenience for me and for my husband because it takes me longer now to shower. It has become cumbersome to take a bath now. We can use it, but I would not recommend it.

They went beyond what they had to do. They made like a landing behind it so I can stand on it to clean the mirrors up there, because it used to be a Jacuzzi tub, so it is a wide area. My husband likes the walk-in tub, except for one problem. The door that they put on opens inwards, which makes it harder to get into it. It should have opened out.

Also, I run out of hot water before I even get the thing full so that I can use the jets, and I don’t know why we are running out because we have a 90 gallon tank. In fact, we have two tanks. By the time we get past the upper jets, I no longer have hot water and it goes out cold water. Nevertheless, the tub relaxes the muscles. The jets are my favorite features, but I don’t like the lights because they bother my eyes and they knew that when they put it in. I've only been in it twice, and my husband uses the tub more than me because I don’t like the way the door is, and when it finally gets up to those upper jets.

My husband was always afraid he was gonna fall when he got in the shower. He has a lot of medical problems. The installation of our Safe Step went good. But the installers didn’t seem like they wanted to take care of my house. My house is very clean and I asked them to cover their shoes. I didn’t like that they just came in and went all over my house in my carpets with their shoes after going outside and inside. People don’t want their carpet messed up if they can help it, especially all through their house. They installed upstairs, so they were coming through the kitchen, off the steps, and through the dining room, and it went through the dining room and into the kitchen outside. And the dining room’s carpeted, it’s carpet all up the steps, and in the hallway, and in my bedroom. I thought they could have been a little bit more cleaner.

And then, they didn’t put up anything between the doors that goes into my master bedroom and my walk-in closet. They did put up some type of a cloth on the two doors, but then they got lazy and didn’t do that because it did make a lot of dust in those two places. They cleaned up afterwards, but not in those two rooms. I got dust on some of my clothes that I’m gonna have to take down and run through the dryer to get the dust off.

We were told they’d put it in in one day, but it took three days. And we had a problem, which was our fault, but we thought it was theirs. We let the water go out. We have a low shower in the bathroom from where the tub is. It’s kind of like a step-in shower, too, but it’s a little bit higher. And so, when we let that water go out, it ran over and came out on the floor. But first we thought they had hooked it up wrong. They sent somebody out here, and what it was was when we let all of that water out at one time, it caused the crust to come off from the pipes and that crust stopped it up. The guy who came out here, worked on it, and now it’s running good. We love the tub a lot and we love taking baths in it. I like the jets and I like the heater more. It keeps the water warm. I would let others know that they’d love one if they get one.

I've heard about Safe Step throughout the years. A couple of years ago, I had a friend who came by and we took a look at it, but I didn’t have the money then. Then about a couple of years ago, somebody came here and I gave them some money to install it. But I had an emergency and I had to back off. And then I was watching Safe Step on TV until one day I told my wife, “Look. I need to call these people and have them come to check it out." When I made the purchase, the man and wife team showed me a few people that did it, and I was looking at it and I said, “Wow, look at his legs.” And then the woman said, “Well, in about 90 days, this is what happens.” She showed me three different people. I told her she didn't have to sell me that. I was sold a long time ago.

I had a lot of problems with my legs. I have type 2 diabetes, but I got nerve damage in my leg, neuropathy, plus, high blood pressure, and I might have to go on dialysis. I beat it for two years. I kinda knew everything about it, but when the woman showed the 90 days difference of what people were having problems with their leg circulation and all that, I told my wife this is what I need. She said, “No, you can go to a whirlpool and do all that.” I said, “No, this is what I need.” Because that way, I can do it at home in privacy.

I also told my wife it might help her too. She had a lot of problems with her veins. I told my wife, it’s gonna help her back, it will massage her back, it will clean her up. But I was just beginning and then later I said, “You know what I like about this tub? It cleans your butt.” She started laughing. But really, it will massage your legs and back, and take out all the pain you got.

The guy came in to put it in a day early. When he said, “Do you mind if I --” I said, “No, man, go ahead. I appreciate it. You just do what you gotta do.” And the gentleman and his wife did a fantastic job. They were very professional, courteous, kind, knowledgeable, and the guy made sure I knew everything before he left. His wife talked to my wife. She showed her everything, because I don’t pay attention to a lot of stuff. I just pay bills and that’s what I worry about.

I've used the tub twice. I didn’t have problems with my septic tank, but there was something there that wasn’t right. So, I called a friend of mine to come by to check it out. He told me what the problem was and he said it was minor. “From now on, you just don’t put like baby wipes, when you clean the baby stuff, don’t throw it in there.” So, it worked out perfect.

We were worried about maybe we had too much water. I told my wife I don’t see why. We had a big tub here and the man took it out. The only thing about the tub, it doesn’t have jets in it. Plus, I can get in it but I couldn’t get out. Too low for me. I had to put a bar across my tub to pull and I couldn’t do that because of my legs and arms. So, I told my wife, “No, this is better. I can walk in, sit down.” I’ve tried it. I ran it to my knees, and the first day we went in, I said, “See there, look. All of these coming out of your legs, it’s skin.” The second time I did it, it wasn’t too bad. You could see it was a little bit clearer. I said, “It’s working. It’s just gonna take time.” So, I was very satisfied. I told my wife, “Look. If it doesn’t help, it doesn’t help. Just do it like taking a bath in the tub. It’s just a little bit different. But the thing about it is you might not see everything then, but in the process, you gotta give it time.”

And I said, “Don’t worry about it. I’m not.” She said, “Well, It’s too big.” “Are you paying for it?” She said, “No.” “Then don’t worry about it.” Because that’s the only way I can get along with my wife. My son said, “Mom, why are you worrying? Dad pays for everything, and she makes sure that you don’t have to worry with all that stress.”

I called the finance company and I said I wanna make three payments. So, they sent me a letter stating that all three payments were paid, next payment is due in March. I'm all ready for March. I’ve prepared for it. I'm very pleased with the people that installed the tub and I'm very pleased with the people that I’ve talked to in finance.

When the other brand was advertising on TV, they didn't advertise the shower package and Safe Step did so I went with Safe Step. I need the shower but I enjoy the jacuzzi part of the tub. I like the little jets. I've been taking the tub for a spin about every day and I love everything about it. The installation team did good. They had to tear our old tub out, repair the floor, then install the tub because under the bathtub, we had some rotting under there. They also had to take the whole doorjamb out because my house was built in the 30s so we had this real small bathroom door. They had to tear all that out in order to get the tub in and take the sink out, and once they got it in, they rebuilt everything back like it was. So, they put a lot in the installation. They were very professional and courteous. Everything went smoothly.

They did a good job and were very efficient. I was very happy with the tub. In looking at the other tubs, it was the best bargain and the best one as far as the ratings. Everything which I looked at said Safe Step is the best one, so that was what we went with.

I talked to Safe Step's rep and he came and showed me a video. He showed good points about Safe Step's tub that other tub companies didn't have. I purchased one and the installer and his don did most of the work. The son had a visit the next day so the main installer did it by himself and finished the job. However, I wish the tub had a handle on the inside so I could lift myself up. If I had a handle that is low enough, I could push myself up. I'm 71 years old and I have a hard time getting up.

Also, I wish I got a bigger tub from them 'cause now I really hustle or put my leg up on the seat to get that tub door shut. I'm over 200 pounds and so the door doesn't shut and open easily. Nevertheless, the tub I have is very relaxing and I Iike the small and big bubbles feature that it has. I like the lights as well. When I turn the light off, being in the tub is a little soothing. I'm very satisfied with what I have.

Then I went on the internet and I inquired, and Safe Step was the first company that called to return my inquiries. The sales rep was very nice and explained everything. The guys who did the installation were very nice too. They did everything that they were supposed to do. The only problem I have is the aromatherapy. The rep gave us a bottle of it, a sample. But I haven’t found any place that sells it. I had asked where to obtain it, and he said, the guys that installed it said that a lot of the pharmacies have it. However, the pharmacies that I checked don’t have that. But I like the tub. We bought it because of my dad. He’s 98, and I thought it’d give him some comfort.

The advantages of Safe Step were better over others, which was why I decided on them and the rep was nice, very competent and knowledgeable. He was from the area, and when you know somebody is from the area where you live, that makes a difference. It’s not just some salesman from 100 miles away. The installation team was very good, and they were in and out. There are a couple of little things I’d like them to come back and fix, but I haven’t contacted them yet. So, it’s not their fault and it’s more of a cosmetic thing.

There are tubs out there that are much less expensive, but I’m pleased with what we spent. I like that I get time to sit in the tub and relax because it makes you. I love the light and putting a scent in there. It’s more of a spa experience than a bath. I rarely get in the tub without using the jets but I just remembered that the smaller jets are oxygenated, so I needed that too. I really like the big jets and I’ve got a jetted tub, but I just won’t get out of that tub. It’s really cool and I wish I got a door that opened outward rather than inward.

We have enjoyed our walk-in tub since May 2017, but a few weeks ago the pull out hose sprayer started leaking so we called the number in our folder and were told they would mail us a replacement hose and we could do it ourselves. My husband is on oxygen and I have little strength in my hands so I explained it would be difficult, perhaps impossible, to do the repair ourselves and they asked if I could find anyone to help us and I explained that we do not have anyone living close by that could aid us. She replied to try to find someone and, meanwhile, she would put in repair order and we would be contacted. Well we have never been contacted and are still waiting.

I think consumers should be aware that even with the “Lifetime Labor Warranty” there are problems keeping their commitment. I am assuming that most customers have limited mobility and are not in the position to go in and start a repair or replace a part themselves, plus I am concerned that working on the tub would void our Warranty.

The first time, Safe Step installed the tub itself. Now, they installed a walk-in shower too and that installation team was great. They were wonderful. They did everything right from soup to nuts. They got it all right the first time and it was a very clean process. I was very happy. As they were leaving, I was very complimentary of them. I was very happy with the first installation team, but I can’t say I’m that happy with the shower installation.

Using both the walk-in tub and shower is an enjoyable experience. I like all of the features. I’ve had the tub for a while. I just recently had the shower option installed and one thing I noticed is my water pressure is not as great as it was. It takes longer for the tub to fill up. I noticed it right away that evening after the shower was installed. I thought that maybe the water pressure was down in the neighborhood, but no, that’s not the problem. And the other thing, the pipe and shower head that’s attached to it, is adjustable. It could be made higher or lower. But when I make it lower, even though I tighten it, as soon as I put the water on, it pushes it back up again. It doesn’t stay at the level that I wanted. But I’m sure Safe Step will make it right. I’ll give them a call and we’ll take it from there.

He didn’t pressure me at all. And the two men that were here and installed the tub were the nicest guys you’d ever want to know. It took them all day to get it in, but they worked at it and when they got through, it was really nice. We played cards at my house yesterday, so my card player got to see it.

However, I called a week or so ago when the glass door for the shower fell down and was dragging on the tub. And the caulking at the back came loose behind the fixtures. It makes an awful noise. Safe Step said they’d have someone call me, but I haven’t heard anything yet. I'm also having a problem with pressure. It takes 35 minutes for the tub to fill up and three minutes to empty. My neighbor came over and she wanted to try it out, and she timed it. So I’ve not used the tub part of it very much. I’ve mostly used the shower but I’d like to use the tub once in a while. I’m not a person to get in a tub and sit there for hours but it’d be nice. It’d make my back and my legs feel better to use the jets. And I like the heated seat in the back. But I don’t know if there’s anything that can be done about the pressure so I can get it to fill up sooner. Overall I’d recommend Safe Step.

We got our second Safe Step tub. We had one when we were at Prescott Valley and liked it. But I like this new one even more ‘cause it’s got the shower and that’s the reason I went forward with it. I’m not one to sit in a tub all the time. My wife likes it too. Also, this new tub is bigger than the one we had, which is nice ‘cause it gives us room to move around a little bit when we’re showering. I like the showerhead as well ‘cause it has no sting. It’s just like a rainfall and it’s nice and soft. That’s great ‘cause I’m 81, and my skin is like tissue paper and it doesn’t take much pressure for it to hurt, especially water pressure.

However, the showerhead has been leaking. I didn't realize it until I turned it on one day, and before I got in, water hit me in the face. I got on the steps to go look and it’s been leaking up on top ever since they installed it. It isn’t running all the time and it’s only when I turn the shower on. And if I move it enough to where I turn it on, the water doesn’t shoot outside the shower. It just runs down off the top and down inside, so I’m not panicking and not worrying about it. It could be a cut or a gasket that either didn't get put in or got turned too many times and broke, and that happens. I’ve done plumbing work but I’m not gonna mess with it. They installed it so I'm letting them get out and make sure it’s right. Also, it feels like the tub is moving a little bit. I don’t wanna feel like I’m gonna fall so I want them to double-check it.

I called Safe Step and told them about the issues and they took a couple days to call me back to set up sending somebody out to check on those. Their guy is supposed to come today but he couldn't give me a time so I’m sitting here, waiting for him. I hope they can straighten out the nice showerhead. Other than that, I enjoy sitting and relaxing in the tub with all the bubbles. One gets a lot of aches and pain when they get older. I definitely recommend Safe Step.

It's a minor detail, but if I didn't follow up on it, I would totally forget that, "Gee, the inspector hasn't come by," and it's both plumbing and electrical so it's two different inspectors. Fortunately, they came yesterday and everything was fine. But the fact that I'm a retired landscape contractor, and there was a part of me that says, "Okay. The salesman did his job and the installation guys did their job," but the final detail of making sure that everything was done was just not followed up on, even though I made numerous calls. Then, they showed me, really fast, how to use the thing. I had to keep saying, “Slow down.” The guy went through the directions in about five minutes and that’s it. And at the time when he said, “Do you have any questions?” I didn’t have any questions because I didn’t even know how to turn the thing on. So, the first time I used the tub was a disaster and it hasn’t been a good thing. I learned how to take a shower and how to fill the tub, but I haven’t learned all the other stuff yet. I have read the pamphlets that they left and it’s not really clear on how to make all those water flow things. I really haven’t used the tub that much except for showers, washing my hair and soaking my feet. I love them too, but for me to get in the tub, I have to stand up, put my feet into the corner and turn my feet 90 degrees from each other, and then try to close the door. I have to lean back if I'm closing the door 'cause I can't sit down and close the door. My legs are above my knee or too long. Other than that, we love the tub. The sales representative was excellent then the installers were professional and neat.

My wife and I had been talking about a walk-in tub for quite a bit. After watching the Safe Step commercial and looking around, we made a few appointments. We sat down and listened to the sales guys, and then chose Safe Step. We had very good interactions with the sales rep. He explained the product and answered all our questions. And after we got the thing ordered, he had a follow-up call to see how it was doing. Then, two gentlemen showed up for installation. They had to take a couple of doors apart to get the tub in the house and into the bathroom, and then they did a fine job of putting everything back the way it was.

The gentlemen left a shower bar and a full-sized shower curtain to put up. When we try to put the curtain up so we could take a shower, it drapes down into the tub a whole lot and so I had to shorten it up. I would just recommend to the company that if they’re going to provide a shower curtain, which is very nice, that they ought to provide a shorter one, so that one can sit in the tub or take the shower and not have all that extra hanging down the floor to trip over. Other than that, everything is working good. My favorite features of the tub are the jets, colored lights, and the microbubbles. My wife enjoys the tub very much too. It is now definitely safer getting in and out of the tub and taking a shower.

I like the Safe Step quality so we used them over other companies, and the sales rep was very good. He explained a lot of things and also gave me his number if I had any issue. Then, the people who came to put the tub in were very, very good as well. When I have a problem, they would be the ones to come out and fix it and they were very good about it.

There are a few flaws in the tub and a few manufacturing difficulties with the drain and the plug. I've had to have the Safe Step people out a couple of times already to work on that and I don't like the way they handled having to have stuff fixed on the tub. When I called in, I don't like the idea that they tell me, "Well, you know, just pull the lug out and adjust the screw." They kept trying to want me to fix the issue over the phone and they hesitate on trying to do a work order to have somebody come out. They kept trying to push me to try to do it and I told them no. There's no way. I'm not mechanically inclined. If I'm calling and I have an issue, even if it's a little minor one, I want somebody out here to fix it. I pay good money for that and I believe I should get the service. Other than that, our Safe Step walk-in tub is all nice and I like all its features.

We love everything about our Safe Step Walk-in tub. I like their pricing better and their installation team was great. They've done their work and they cleaned up after. They were concerned a little though about the linoleum not reaching the tub. I told them that was all right because I'm gonna replace the linoleum anyway. Now, I can take a bath in the tub everyday and I like being able to sit down and get in and out of it.

The Jacuzzi was priced ridiculously high. Safe Step was the second one I looked at and I was happy with the price. I also like the hydro feature of the tub. The sales rep was professional and knowledgeable. Then the installers were fantastic, courteous, timely, and cleaned up after themselves.

My husband and I talked to our children about getting a walk-in tub, and being old people, our kids said, "Now, they're the parent, we're the child." So, my husband did some research and channel nine just did a story on the top three walk-in bathtubs, and Safe Step was on the top. I made an appointment with all three companies to come and Safe Step came first. We were real impressed with the gentleman who came here. He was very good. He was really friendly and personable. He spent a lot of time with us answering all of our questions and he explained everything very well. He showed us our designs, the height and the width, the door, getting in. I had total hip replacement, so my bill is not really good, and we just canceled the other companies and just went with Safe Step.

The gentleman who came also told some funny stories about different people and buying tubs, then how we were thinking it was way too much, but we've talked about this for three years before we really just decided. There were two younger guys that came out and installed the tub. I was at work then, but my husband was here. Once they got it in, they called me. I came home to check and I had filled it up. They showed me how to work everything and they were very, very pleasant and well putting up with my husband who was hard of hearing, answering his questions, so I got here. They were very good and cleaned up really good after themselves.

A friend of mine got one, I don't know which brand. She told me us how much it costs, we thought, "We don't know if we could afford it," but at some point, we did. We put an amount on our savings account, and we got it, and paid cash for it, and were just thrilled to death. We've only had it a couple of months and so far, it has been wonderful as far as the jets and things for my back and my legs. I love our Safe Step Walk-In tub. I can't believe I've had so many years without it. I've already recommended them to a bunch of people.

I got a walk-in tub from Safe Step as it helps my wife who has Parkinson's. I like the jets in the tub, too. Also, the installers were good that I would like to fire them from Safe Step and hire them for me. Their sales rep was super. I've recommended Safe Step to three people.

I like the combination of leg and back massage of my walk-in tub. I also like the air jets and water jets. The Safe Step sales representative was a real nice guy and the installation was real good too. The installer has done an awesome job and while he might have left a little bit of dust after the installation, he cleaned everything up for the most part.

My son got all interested in Safe Step's walk-in tub and he did all the research on it. He thought that it would be the proper one for me. The sales representatives were wonderful. The installation was super and they cleaned after themselves. I was thrilled with the whole works – everybody, everything, and my new tub. I shower every day so I really am enjoying the sit-down and shower. I have to sit down to shower and I also like it when I fill the tub up and get the levels. I like the easy walk in and out of it as well because it’s so hard for me to get in and out. I love the whole tub.

I have only one issue with my Safe Step walk-in tub. When they installed it, they chipped the paint in three areas on my walls. I was recovering from my 10th spinal surgery and then I had complications so I had to leave and I just recently got back to my house. Had I been at home and not back in the hospital, I would have noticed that sooner. I'm not really happy about that and it would have been nice to be notified.

At any rate, I loved my Safe Step salesman and he was wonderful. When he showed me the features of the tub, he told me that once a month, I have to put one of those dishwasher little tablets in there and have it soaked through so it gets into the plumbing part of it. But I may have to put the jet streams on to that to make it filter through. That makes sense to me because how else would it circulate through there without that. I was trying to find about it in the book but I couldn’t find anything except a note on bubble baths.

Overall, I couldn’t be more thrilled as far as the aspects of the tub. For one, being able to walk in and have the stability of that is fantastic for me because I have a condition that’s not curable and I had 10 spinal surgeries. I love the jet stream or the jacuzzi aspect on my spine too. I also love the microburst where it makes my skin really soft. I could feel it on my skin and it’s unbelievable. It’s like a massage. Another thing I like are the lights. Watching the changing of the lights is very surreal and serene to me while sitting there. So, I love just about everything with the Safe Step tub itself.
