My mother needed a walk-in tub.and I liked the feature that I've seen from Safe Step Walk-in Tubs so I went with them. My interaction with the sales rep went all right. The installation took two days which was kinda bad. We just ran into a few little problems, nothing major. So far, everything has been going good with our tub and everybody's happy with it.

The installation of our Safe Step tub was wonderful. Everything was fine except the stupid tub. I had wonderful interactions with Safe Step’s sales representative, too, but I don’t think he realized how bad my condition is because most people can get up and sit down on something. But for me, I can’t get up from sitting down if it’s not at least three feet tall. I have neuropathy in my lower legs and my feet, and the seat of the tub is so low that I don’t have the strength in my legs to get out of the tub. Plus, I have a broken back. We put cushions and a crate in the tub, and we also had a bar put in on the wall for me. So, we’re still trying to figure out a way to get me in and out of it. We’ve had it for a month now and I’ve only been able to be in it twice.

Hi Mrs. Huston. I'm so sorry to hear that you have only been able to use your tub twice for those reasons. Please call our customer service department to see what can be done, or how we can resolve this. I know we have booster seats if you think that might help, but our customer service department will have more ideas as well. Thank you for letting us know of this problem, and I hope we can make it more accessible for you.

My husband has no kneecaps and he get cortisone shots every six months because the bone’s rubbing against bones, so he couldn’t step in the old tub. I looked at TV and the brochures I get with my magazine and went for Safe Step Walk-in Tubs. The sales rep who assisted me was terrific and I was really very satisfied with the two gentlemen who did the installation. My husband and I like the tub, and I’m really satisfied with it. So far, everything is fine and when I got problems, I could call them, and they’d check it out for me.

I have osteoarthritis and I had thought about getting a Safe Step Walk-in tub. I thought it might be a smart deal before my osteoarthritis gets so bad that I can’t do a whole lot. So, I checked into it and I liked it because the arthritis foundation faxed it up, said it’s one of the best ones for arthritis, which is what I have now. I just let the installer do his thing. He was nice and he worked efficiently and quickly.

Now, I am more relaxed. In fact, my favorite features are the oxygenated water and the jets. I always put my face in the water and I get white heads under my glasses, and that has been clearing up since I started using it. So, it’s getting deeper because when you wash your face, you still get soap residue so it helps with getting stuff like that. So far, everything’s going okay. The only issue is the one on the seat went off. I don't know if it was just because the tub was on for a certain amount of time on the jets. So, what I’m going to do next time I take a shower is I’ll check to see if it’s coming on or not.

The fella that put in the Safe Step walk-in tub was very good. He was very kind. However, the helper was no good. He was walking around with his shirt up with his big, fat stomach out. I didn’t need to see that. And everything that the other guy told him to help him with, he would say he was too tired or something. And the other guy that was doing it would say, “All right, I’ll get it. I’ll get it.” So, the helper was very bad.

I’ve been in the tub and I love it. I didn’t know that it had a timer. Nick, the sales rep, told me. I called him and he called me back. He really knows how to talk to you. He treats you like a person and he’s very good at what he does. 17,000 is not cheap. I like the tub's safety and it’s very comfortable in it, but I'm afraid the jets knocked my back out. I gotta learn to sit not as close to it. But other than that, I'm very satisfied.

So far, everything is going good with our Safe Step Walk-in tub. I’m not quite satisfied with it yet because I can’t stretch out in it. I’m used to sitting in a tub and having my legs straight out and being able to lean back. With Safe Step, It’s like sitting in a chair and I’m not used to it. I just gotta get used to it. Other than that, it’s nice. The sales rep was great. I liked him real well. He’s a good salesman. And the installers did a good job of installing. Overall, the company is great and the tub works like it’s supposed to. I like its massaging jets. They’re relaxing.

I decided to go with Safe Step because of the step to get into it and the heated seat. Their sales rep was good and he was determined. The installation team was good, as well. My only suggestion is, maybe they could put some kind of a Velcro on the handles of the tub, because when you have soap on your hands or water, it tends to be kind of slippery.

The wife could not step into the bathtub. She had a stroke and we needed some type of a bathing facility where she didn't have to step over the bathtub. So, purchasing the walk-in tub from Safe Step was the easy way. The individual who came to the house initially told me that I could not put it on my credit card but later on, I found out that I could put it on the credit card. We also wanted to have a grab bar put in, but the fellow who installed it never came back. My daughter contacted them and they still didn't come back, so we just stopped contacting them. Other than that, the tub is what the old lady needs in order to take a bath and it has the same features as what is shown on TV. She likes it, too. She said that the shower is great and she likes being able to sit and sort of relax after taking a shower.

The sales rep of Safe Step was very thorough and answered all our questions. Our installation experience was very good as well. The installers were very professional. You could see as soon as they got here and started unloading the truck, they knew exactly what to do. I do have one comment about the tub though. The microbubble feature, it’s supposed to be variable speed, and I don't see where changing that little dial over there on the right-hand side in front of the drawer does anything.

I can feel stuff coming out the hole where the microbubbles are supposed to be, but it can probably be increased a little bit. And I found out that when you want to use the jets, and you want to put it on your back, it’s pretty hard pounding on the back. So, what I do is I budge it and kinda move between the back and the foot. That way, it’s not as much pressure coming out the back. Other than that, my wife loves the tub, and I like the tub too. It does everything it’s supposed to do and the experience was fantastic.

I saw Safe Step on TV and we got a flyer in the mail. I’m 72 years old and I’m very active but I’ve seen older folks fall down and die from head injuries. I had fallen a couple of times and the shower that I had had no way for me to hold myself where I can wash my feet and my body while I was bathing. I had to be standing up but with the soap in my feet, it would be slippery and it was very dangerous for me. So, I needed to be able to secure myself. Then, when I saw that I could bathe and sit down, I said that this walk-in tub was what I wanted. I need it now but as I get older, I probably would be needing it more, so I got it.

I called the sales rep at Safe Step, and he came and showed us what we had. He asked if I had any questions and I said that by the time he got here, I have already made up my mind. My wife wanted different types of faucet and when they brought it in, he didn’t have it. So, we had to wait extra for the faucet to show up, and they finally installed the right faucet last Monday. So, everything right now, is the way I want it. I used to jump in the shower and I enjoy myself after I take the shower. But since having the walk-in tub, I enjoy myself while taking the shower as well as after. I take a shower everyday but I use the tub twice a week. I just sit there and that’s very relaxing for me. I recommended Safe Step to everybody.

I had thought about a walk-in tub for a long time. Basically, I've looked at them at Home Depot and Lowe's or different places, and the quality wasn't there. And I didn't wanna lose my shower so I got the tub from Safe Step. The rep and I went back and forth, and everything turned out to be correct to what he said. So I'm very happy with it so far. The installation went excellent. They were very gracious and did an excellent job. I asked them a couple extra things, and they did it. The final product works fine. I had to adjust the drain a little bit. But other than that, I don't have any problems with it.

I knew that I wanted a walk-in tub. I’m kinda handicapped so I wasn’t able to get into my tub because it was too high. I also was using a side chair and it would stick out. When I would shower, I would sit on the chair but I got all my floor wet all the time. It was like stepping out into a river and eventually, it started to decay my floor. I initially decided to just do my flooring but I was told that the flooring was all the way down to my tub. I figured to hold off on this and let me see about getting a new tub. This was when I saw a commercial about the walk-in tub, how you could walk in and it’s very easy to do that. Also, I just didn’t wanna destroy my floor again.

The Safe Step rep I had was very nice, knowledgeable, and friendly. The guy that came to sell me the tub measured everything. I told him that I was 300 pounds and asked if I was gonna fit in the tub. He assured me that I would. I told the sales guy that I wanted the biggest tub that they had in the company. The first time the installers came, it was horrible. It wasn't the installation part though. My daughter came in to check to see how I was and she saw the tub that was in the yard. She told me that I was not gonna sit in that tub. She helped me outside and the installer who was there said to try it before they installed it so I did. I got in the tub okay but I could not close the door because the tub was really small. It was not gonna work. It was not the tub I ordered.

I didn't accept the tub that was delivered in my yard. I was then told that another tub was gonna be more money. I told the guy I might as well cancel everything. What was I gonna do with a little tub that he was trying to install? The installer called the company and found out that they made a mistake. They sent me the wrong tub. It took two more weeks to get the right one.

It took me three months to get it because they only deliver on certain days. It wasn’t their fault, though. First, my flooring wasn’t completely done and it took a while to do the flooring. And when I needed them to come, I had to postpone it. I canceled once and they canceled once because they couldn’t make it. Other than that, the tub has been great. I love my tub but I don’t use the jets. I don’t fill my tub up to get a full bath. I just mainly sit there and I’d shower, stand up then sit. I don’t spend more than a minute and a half. I feel like if I took a hot bath, I would not be able to get out because I’m very weak.

In a matter of a few hours, the installers had it done. It was well explained and well installed. It was excellent. There was one bar for the wall beside the tub. Other than that, I didn't have any extra features and I didn't have a shower attached. The product is very satisfying on the whole.

I'm not a satisfied camper with Safe Step. The salesman screwed me over for $1000, and I was stupid enough to fall for it. He quoted me a price, and he left. And we called him back. He wrote it up for 1000 more than what he quoted. And, I didn't notice it. I just trusted him and it was a big mistake on my part. Thank god it was only $1000.

The installation process was easy-peasy. It went well and the installers were good people. I’ve had my tub for a month. I’ve used it once. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I talked to one of the vice presidents from Safe Step, and nothing was done about it. I never even got a phone call back. So, they don't care. Initially, I talked to a gal in the corporate office. And then, she referred me to the VP. But I’m thinking about seeing if I can get one of their competitors to take the Safe Step out and put theirs in without charging me.

I had heard Safe Step was a good tub. Their sales representative and installation team were good. The installer couldn't finish up with it because the water wouldn’t drain, and so I had to get another plumber. And it was in the P-trap. He had looked in the P-trap and he said that was clear, but possibly, something could’ve dropped in there, so I had to get another plumber. So, we really didn't get to finish up like we should’ve. I just had to wait to get another plumber, and they couldn't go through. And so, I’m gonna call to get them to come back to go through it and explain everything to me.

I’ve got that drain fixed, but then I found out that my water well does not produce enough water. I have a daughter living here, and if she showers, I can’t fill it. So, I’m in the process of trying to get a new water well dug to find out. I live in the country. So, I hadn't been able to use my tub like I would like to. But I like that I can sit in the water and I like the jets on my feet and legs. It’s not the same as being able to soak in a tub, so that’s really why I wanted to get it. I could get up out of a tub, but I’m just afraid to try it.

I will recommend Safe Step. I have an older sister that wants to come and look at it. I have a concern, though, that maybe she wouldn’t be able to get in and out of it because of the way that the door opens. I have a few concerns because I’ve had to learn how to get in and out of it. If they could put a handheld rail on the other side, that’ll help because you have to almost be sitting down to open the door. You can’t be standing up. And then when you open the door, one of the handheld things is hidden by the door.

We contracted with Safe Step to get a tub. Told the salesman it would be sometime in 2018 before we could be ready. Called us every couple of weeks in late 2017 to deliver product. Not listening. Spoke with regional manager 7/2018 to advise wife became seriously disabled and my health deteriorated also. Kept hope that wife would get better and myself also. Mgr. stated would call back 7/2019. Never did. Sent letter and email 8/2019 to company asking if deposit could be refunded due to disabilities and wife not being able to bathe in either tub or shower. Mgr told superiors he never offered refund option last year and they refused to return deposit.

Financially we were unable to continue with the contract and could not use the tub due to disabilities. Yes there was a contract, yes we agreed to get a tub. We were healthy at the time and could use it. They refused to return any portion of the deposit. Was it legal, yes. Was it the right thing to do, you decide. I tried to keep hope that wife would get better and kept in touch with them the entire time. Greed won out over understanding. They make lots of profit off these tubs but have no empathy for unexpected health problems developing. Bottom line with them is it's better to keep a deposit for cause rather than help the individual with financial problems due to medical expenses. You decide if this company is who you want to deal with. Very money oriented.

I understand that there was multiple unfortunate events that required you to cancel on installing the tub. Unfortunately you cancelled after three days from when you ordered it. It is in our contracts that if a customer does not choose to move forward after the three day mark, that they will have to forfeit their deposit. This is in every contract with every customer, and every customer is made aware of this. We sympathize with your situation, but there is nothing we can do at this time. Please take care!

We’re getting old and safety factor in bathing is always present. We considered other tubs that are available of quality but the Safe Step salesman was good and knew the product. The installers were here all day ‘til 10 o’clock at night and didn’t give us a fair chance of evaluation of the product itself. They were respectful and knew their job but it was a long day for them. Fortunately, we live in a townhouse and have an extra bathroom, so we didn’t have to worry about interrupting them. I investigated later and saw that the crawl space from the bathroom was exposed. I didn’t like that because even though the basement is relatively sealed, bugs and stuff can find an equal way into the bathroom. Another thing is we’re from upper state New York and it gets cold here. The pipes are being exposed to a temperature that’s not good. I got ahold of someone and they claimed that they had put Styrofoam up in there and it must have fallen out.

The young man who did the original installation came back and did very well in addressing all the situations. He addressed the hole and filled it up. And with plywood, he built a bottom to it then he put foam insulation over it. It looks good and it’s functional. There’s been a discoloration of pink under the door and he didn’t know what would cause it. It’s gradually dissipating. He said that he’d just bring it to the people’s attention and see what it was. Also, he couldn't produce any leak of the fill tub but when I got up this morning, there was a little puddle of water around it. It’s a valve or something. Nothing big, but annoying. He explained how that faucet is put in there and that he couldn’t tell why it’s leaking ‘cause he drew water and couldn’t replicate it but we're satisfied. He’s a very good and capable person. The tub is beautiful as far as it does exactly what I expected and wanted.

Safe Step's reps were great and I liked their presentation. They were very personable and not pushy at all. I'm very impressed with them. The installers were really good too. They laid down liners on the floor through the living room, down my hall and to the bathroom. They were very respectful and kept the dust down to a minimum. I really appreciated it. We love the final product and the bubbles it has. Having it is very relaxing and calming. Nice warm water has been my favorite because I have problems with my back and if I can't regulate, getting a massage where it's not too hard hurts my back. So I mostly use the bubbles.

We have really enjoyed our Safe Step tub. Everything's been good so far. The sales team from Safe Step was good. And as far as installation, the quality of work is good as well. We're having a little problem with the water mixing together, but they've been johnny-on-the-spot to work with us on that. We just can't get the heat part to regulate right. It's too cold or then it gets too hot. And that could be our hot water heater. I'm gonna call somebody today.

I researched and did some comparisons with American Standard and Kohler, and I found that Safe Step was the best buy for me since I wanted the shower. The interaction with the Safe Step rep was very good and she explained the tub well. The installation was excellent. The installers came in and they were very efficient. They left the bathroom just like it was, so I was very pleased. The wife has used the walk-in tub a couple of times but I've only used it once and I enjoyed the jets.

I had two walk-in tub companies that I found on the internet, and I called both of them to make an appointment. Safe Step was the first one and I liked what they had. The sales representative explained the product and was very good. During the installation, I showed the techs where the bathroom was and I stayed in the other room. They were courteous and they cleaned up after themselves. I feel a lot safer having the walk-in tub, as I couldn't get out of a regular bathtub. However, my door is extremely hard to close and when I sit and try to push the lever down, it's very hard to go down. I can make it go down now, but in the future, I might not be able to. Nonetheless, I would recommend Safe Step to anyone.

The sales representatives at Safe Step were good. They were polite and knowledgeable. The installation experience was good. But the installers did a little more damage to the tile than I really liked. I've got to have some tile work done to repair. But that was part of taking out the surround around the other tub. So I didn't like the way it was left, but they told me they don't do tile repair. It's just that when I spend that much money, I would like a completed product. I got a tub that works, but it's not complete because I've got to go in and have the bathroom repaired now.

I had to have a guy come back out and recaulk the tub where they caulked it. What the installer put on didn't hold, so that was a little issue there. The other adjustment that had to be done was the selector where you select whether you want your jets on feet or back or both. It was not pointed correctly. The guy that came out and recaulked fixed that though. Other than that, the overall quality of the tub is very good.

However, the sales rep said I was gonna get a gift card but that never showed up. The installation team said they had to put a switch in the wall. They put drywall on it and they were gonna come back and sand it down so it can be painted, but they never showed up. I probably should not have paid them till the end. That was about two weeks ago and I saw water damage in the ceiling of the floor below where the tub is. I saw the water about a day ago.

I got a friend that has Safe Step and I went over and looked at hers. Plus I saw it on commercials on TV. I liked their reputation. The sales rep at Safe Step was a nice guy. I was wanting to put the tub in one spot in my house, and he did a lot of measuring. And we both talked about it and we decided we could put it there. But then when the installer came, he walked in and said, “Nope, won’t work. We can’t have it there.” He said it was against the code. So, there was a breakdown in communications there between the two of them. And even my sales rep took pictures and sent it to the installer before he ever got down here. But the tub ended up in a totally different room in the house, which is fine, but it’s not where I wanted it.

What the installer was gonna have to do was take a wall down, not a big wall, just one between the tub and the commode, and he was gonna have to move it an inch and a half. And he said that that would make my commode not be in code because there’s not enough room between those two walls, but it wasn’t in code to begin with. He said it had to be 36 inches, and it was like 28 inches. And then when we got through, it was gonna be 26 inches, which either one of them wasn’t in code to begin with. But it was taken care of. I like all of the features of my walk-in tub. I like where I can do my feet. I have jets in this tub, and I got hydrotherapy and got the shower. It’s good.

The people had to improvise because my area was such a small one but they did a good job fitting the tub in the small area. And so far, the tub seems to be okay. We originally thought that we had a little leak that was supposed to be repaired. But my wife and I came to an understanding that maybe that little leak was nothing because regular tubs leak like that with the drain. Nonetheless, someone did come and repair, and we're satisfied. What I like about the tub is that we can shower and shave at the same time.

First of all, it failed the plumbing inspection, so we had to wait for inspection, then they had to come back to re-inspect the plumbing to make sure that it is okay. And I've been waiting here for days and nobody is showing up and nobody is calling. And now, when I was all set to use it, I find that I can't lock the door. And I called them Friday and I talked to somebody and they said, “Can you hold on and I'm gonna transfer the call?” I waited on the phone for 30 minutes. I called back again on Saturday and they're supposed to call today and I haven't heard anything. So, I'm disgusted.

I looked Safe Step up because I'm very sore and I needed a walk-in tub. I looked up several different ones, and the guy from Safe Step came out. He was fantastic. The installation was fine. However, somebody was digging outside, and there was a shovel out there that he said was mine. I don't know where he got it, but there's dirt and stuff laying around out there. And I thought they were gonna come back and pick that up, but they haven't. I'm very uncomfortable. I can't do this stuff. My experience with Safe Step was very frustrating.

I'm very handicapped because of arthritis. I had a regular tub and to get in, I had to lift one leg to put it in and try to get up and in the tub. Once I was in there, I was absolutely terrified because my doctor is not happy with what I'm doing. I started washing my hair in the sink in the kitchen, soaping outside the tub, and getting in and out as fast as I could. It just got too much. It was getting somebody in here to talk to me. I couldn't do it that way anymore. I needed a walk-in tub and the Safe Step sales rep was fine and he did his job. However, he didn't give the installation team a fair picture of how long it would take and he told me it would just take a day. So, the installers and I anticipated they would be here one day but they were here until mid-evening the first night and after midnight on the second day. They crawled out of here because they had to rebuild the floor in there.

Now, I have an issue with the handle on the side that's supposed to lock because I can see a little leak running down. The idea of putting a massive amount of water, the water would probably hold it on, but I lift against it and it pops open. I don't even have to be going in, I might reach or hold on to the bar and it pops open and it shouldn't happen. It probably needs a five-second adjustment, but I'm here alone and I don't know what to do. Other than that, the installers were very good. They worked their butts off. When they here, there was no fooling around or nothing. Also, the tub looks really good. It serves the purpose.

The Safe Step walk-in tub has been wonderful. I had a bad experience in the shower and my wife did too, and we were afraid to bathe ourselves because of both our bad knees and backs. We tend to fall down and we also got arthritis and a lot of other physical and emotional problems. In fact, we were not taking baths as regularly as we should have been because we were afraid. But the walk-in tub has allowed us to be able to take a bath without fear. It built our confidence level. Besides the amenities that it offers, the faucet and the shower head are located at the perfect place where you can reach out and get them without having to get up. You can sit down and do everything. You can also stand and bathe your whole body. You can rinse your whole body first, lather it down and then rinse it again.

What I like about it too is that I can stand up inside of it and I don't feel afraid. The little grab bar up in the far left in front of the tub allows me to reach up and I also have a bar on the wall, on the right side of the tub. They are both put in special places that will allow us to grab hold of them and stand up. Stepping in and out of the tub is easy. When you wanna get into it, you open the door and then you can use the walls to sturdy yourself to step in and you get to reach that bar. On your way out, you can also use the walls as you step out of the tub. Then as I turn, I have the bars on the wall, outside of the tub. I have something to hold on to that's very sturdy. So it's a joy. I feel more confident that I can take a bath without hurting yourself.

During the installation, the workers were courteous. They did and finished the job, and they worked together as a unit, which you don't normally see. Each one had a responsibility for doing a certain thing and they did that. They also assisted each other. Also, the young man in charge was kind. He wanted to know what else he could do and he showed me things that I needed to do. The only problem is that my wife and I tend to forget things. People tell us things and when they tell us, we understand. But the moment they walk away, we forget everything they've told us. So I'm still finding it hard to operate the various things on the tub. I called and asked Safe Step to send me an owner's manual. I hope that in that manual, they explain how each of those things operate and how to master those little buttons. Nonetheless, the walk-in tub has been a lifesaver for me and my wife. I feel good about being able to take a bath and not being afraid.

I talked to one of the Safe Step representatives a year or so ago and then I talked to Jacuzzi. I had them come and talk to me and I liked the original agent better than the next one, so I contacted him. Also, a company that was more experienced in doing it a long time was important, too, and Safe Step had a good record. The tub had a whole bunch of extra things and stuff that would be good for me. I'm going 75 this next month and I have diabetes and a thyroid condition, so my skin is very dry, and I have a few concerns about the circulation of my feet and everything with the diabetes. Aaron, the sales rep, explained it to me and he went through step-by-step.

I had trouble with the installation because, originally, when it was to be installed, the man was sick. Then, I had a lot of troubles. I had back surgery and a procedure done, so I had to put it off. But when they did the installation, this young man came and he was with another guy that was older and they had all kinds of equipment. They had to tear out all the tile and the tub. The tile was a big ceramic tile and it was heavy. They picked it out and put it in their truck and took all the debris with them. It was a lot of work. They were very organized and were pleasant. They put down cover on the floor and they cleaned up well. Also, my dog liked them.

The tub is roomy. I don’t feel constricted in it and it fills up quickly and the water goes quickly. When it runs, the heater keeps the water warm. The first time I got in, I was sort of panicked because I couldn’t remember which one of these things turn the water off and I let a lot of water out, but we got it together. The second time was good. I'm very satisfied.

They cleaned up their mess and took everything away, didn’t leave any scraps, and they were very efficient. I like the tub best where I can sit down and then soak in it. I love to take a bath, but sometimes I like to take a shower and rinse off, and it has that capacity, too. So, I really enjoy it. However, after I empty the tub and get out, I could hear it roaring again a few minutes later and I want to know why. I don’t put any oils in there and I hadn’t put in Epsom salt but sometimes, you need to soak in Epsom salt, so I didn’t know if you could use it or not. But it seemed like it would be alright.

The salesman from Safe Step Walk-in Tubs told me that the headrest came with the tub, which was one of the reasons why I bought it. After the tub was installed, I asked what happened with the headrest and the remote control because I didn’t get any of that. So, they mailed me this little piece of material and it looked like it had angel hair inside with two suction cups on it. The lady told me to put it on the wall. I asked her if she realized how much room there was between our wall in the back of the tub and if you put it on the base, it’s so low, it’s doesn’t even reach your shoulders. I told her I can’t use this thing and the headrest that the salesman told me about had the rise on either side and you could raise and lower it. Then she told me they no longer had those. It was discontinued. I should have been told that before I purchased it because I bought it under the assumption that those came with the tub.

I told her that if I can’t get the headrest, then they should come back and take this tub out because they breached the contract. I didn’t get what I signed up for. So, they can take it out then put another bathtub back in here, the way it was in the beginning. Also, the craftsmanship of the Safe Step walk-in tub was terrible. When the installers tore out the tub from upstairs, they put a little piece of plastic over the sink and some on the floor but they didn’t secure it. When that stuff started coming down from the second floor to the basement, it knocked that little plastic off and our basement, the sink and bathroom down in the basement was cluttered with all kinds of debris but they have cleaned that up.

The installers smeared caulk all over the inside and outside of the tub, and the caulk looked like it was breaking up the next day. You can see the cracks and you can see how it was bubbling up and everything. So, they said they were gonna send somebody out. I told them not to send the same people that did this job because they did a terrible job. She said they would send someone else. The same guy showed up and he went in and tried to re-caulk it. It was a little better than what it was at first, but it was still terrible. He didn’t clean up and I don’t know how to remove the caulk from off the tub without damaging it.

There was caulk all over the front. I got that off as best I could, even the controller inside the tub even had caulk inside of that when you turn on the heater and the water. That’s how it got caulk in it as well as the headrest, and the tub was dirty. They just left me with a mess and I have caulk on the walls. You just look at it and you can tell it was unprofessional. I would not recommend Safe Step to anybody. I told the lady that if I don’t get the headrest that was demonstrated to me, I’m gonna go on social media and let the whole world know, contact the AARP and let them know exactly what’s going on with their company so that they will not continue to advertise in their magazine. I’m so disgusted that I’ve only used the tub one time. I’m very dissatisfied with Safe Step.

Safe Step lied to me. My husband had Alzheimer’s and dementia so he was on a walker. He was in a really bad shape. He was bed-bound for about three months and he was getting boils on his butt. I said I might be interested in the walk-in tub but when the guy from Safe Step came out, he just had brochures so I had no idea how big it was. I didn't know if my husband was gonna fit. I told him that I was impressed with what his brochures said but I also had appointments with other people. But he said that he would sell it to me for $2,000 less if I would sign on the dotted line right then.

My husband is 6'3" and 220 lbs., and the guy said that was what he was and he could walk around that thing all day long. He said my husband was not gonna have any trouble. When I asked what if he does have trouble, he said they would make it right. Then I said I would have to have it put in immediately because my husband was getting worse. We had caregivers coming in, strangers getting him down naked and flipping him around, and he hated it. The rep said they could expedite it, put us above everybody else and put the tub in immediately.

But it took him 21 days to put the tub in. Then when my husband got in it, he couldn’t even get out of it. It was so small. He couldn’t use it at all and I paid $16,000 for this thing. And of course, they waited 21 days so that the timing for me to say it wasn’t gonna work had totally run out. I called the guy back and told him it doesn’t work. He told me not to worry, that they have a bigger one, that they could take this one without any problem for me, and that it wouldn't cost me a thing. But I couldn’t get him to call me back and it just went on and on. My husband's demeanor was just going way down. Finally, the guy called me and this was like four weeks later. He asked if the bigger tub was ever put in and I said it hadn't. He said he would check on it for me. But I told him there was no need to do it. My husband had died on Mother's Day.

I know the tub would’ve made a difference if we’d had the right thing in here and he said, “I know it would have too.” He said that he was so upset then he said he would look into it and call me back within 24 hours. But he never called me back. I even tried to call him back. He was really nice but he lied to me and Safe Step never made it right. Also, when he was doing the paperwork, my husband was falling asleep in the chair and I said I had to get him to bed but the guy kept going and going, asking me to sign here and there and do this and that. I just wanted to get him out of the house. I didn't wanna be rude but my husband needed to go to bed.

I’ve also talked to other people. There was another guy who called me last Friday to ask what they could do. I told him I could hardly even go in there. They had put a $1,000 lien on my house. I couldn't believe that. He said that it was $8 a day and interest. But I told him I was not paying a penny for the tub and they should come back and get it. But he was saying they couldn't take it out because then they would have to put it in a landfill. I told him I don't really wanna get ugly with this. I don't wanna go to Channel 5 News and embarrass them to death. I don't wanna go the lawyer way either and I don't want this lien on my house.

Another thing is that my husband had died so my income had gone downhill and I can't really afford this. He asked what I could afford. I said the most I could probably come up with was $5,000. He said he would call me in an hour but he never called me back. So I don't know what to think. Plus when I signed the paperwork, I thought that Safe Step was gonna be the ones doing it. But after six days, I found out that they sold the paper to this other thing called Aqua whatever. I thought that was why they have the AAA rating. They don’t play fair. My husband was 86 and I’m 71. We’re seniors. I would’ve done anything for my husband just to keep him alive. But they took us to the cleaners. Now, I don’t know who to call. I don’t know who to talk to.

After more calls were placed, a new stopper was mailed to them. As far as I can tell, there were no instructions sent on installing this stopper. I guess they think my parents are tub installers and should be able to figure it out for themselves. Back to customer service... where they are now getting a runaround. They were told today a stopper kit was "being ordered" and they would be informed when it arrived. I won't be holding my breath. Or recommending this company to anyone else.

We have a nine-foot ceiling and we have a guy coming in, who's gonna drop the ceiling a foot in. So we can put a curtain rod on that piece that he’s gonna put up there. We can use the tub, but we really can’t use the shower. We’re not completed with them either because they went ahead and drilled holes in our ceiling. Nobody even told me they were gonna drill holes. The sales guy said, “Oh, no. They’ll route the wiring. You won’t even know it’s been done.” Next thing I know, I have holes in my ceiling that they patched. But they didn’t even put anything down. And now, I got all the white powder from the drywall on the ceiling that’s stuck in my black grout. I can’t get it out.

We came in contact with Safe Step and the rep brought out his demonstrations to show how the tub works and how it locks. He also told me there was a lifetime warranty. But I didn't exactly get the tub that I ordered. The rep measured and ordered a big tub but it wouldn't go through the bathroom the way it was supposed to. The installation team told me that they would have to cut so much into the wall because they didn't know how the rep measured it. In the end, they had to bring another tub.

The installer was good. He told me and my husband that the door opens to the outside, not to the inside. But it opens to the inside. He told us that sometimes people's legs get in the way and that's why they had the door go to the inside. That's why he had to change all the faucet to the other side of the wall because if it opened up to the outside, it would it the toilet. If it opened to the inside, it wouldn't hit the toilet anywere. I use the tub once a week and I love the aroma and the massaging I get from the jets.

They took the time out to ask me if I had any questions. They took a look at my bathroom and they knew what I had. When the workers came to install my tub, they asked if I was told that I could get the shower head and that it could come in different colors. I said, "No they didn't. They never mentioned it". The installer said that because everything was color coordinated, putting a tub in chrome was gonna stand out like a sore thumb and I didn't want that. So they didn't install it on the day they were supposed to because we changed it back to the original hardware that I had in my bathroom. That was the only thing that I did not like but other than that, it was wonderful. I love the quality of my Safe Step walk-in tub.

This company's product is made and designed in this country. It’s also by private ownership and it is a big conglomerate. How I heard about SafeStep was that I had received several notices that there was such a thing. At the time, I wasn’t interested in it because I had something else I was using. But finally, I found it necessary to have a built-in tub because it was too hard to get in and out or even to sit on the seat that I had there. I couldn't take a shower because I couldn't stand.

I also investigated a couple of companies but I like Safe Step because they were no-nonsense about anything. The man came out, showed us all the things and went through the whole thing. We developed a rapport with the salesperson right away. He also told me the different things that they discounted because I didn’t want a shower and this and that. It came down quite a bit and we went ahead and got it. We thought it would be really nice and I like it. It’s very good. It has the jets, which is great. One of its best features is that it empties out very fast. When you fill it and it goes all the way up where you would use all the different jets, it has a thing that says don’t fill beyond this particular place so I don’t. When I let the water out afterwards, it's surprisingly fast. It even went faster than my sink.

When the people had come to install the tub, they found out that the tub that was coming was smaller than the space. They decided to take it back and get the next size to fill in the space. And there was no added charge. The installation was also a little noisy and messy but they pretty much cleaned up everything after themselves. Plus they were very cordial and nice. They answered any questions that we had so they were very good.

I had fallen several times and the doctor said I better do something or I'm gonna fall and break a hip. My foot drops when getting in and out of the tub. I called American Standard but they weren't very nice on the phone. It just turned me away. Then, I called Safe Step and we set up an appointment. The rep was very nice and not overburdening. He had been an installer for Safe Step so he knew the process. He answered a lot of questions that we had and he was very knowledgeable. He was here for three hours but it wasn't boring at any point. The time went fast. He had a movie to show and he talked like a normal person, not like a salesman. Before he left, we bought the walk-in tub. Then the installer came and our experience with them went surprisingly well. It took him two days as he had to tear out some drywall and the doorframe and when he was done, he had fixed everything that I couldn't tell it.

The only thing I was unhappy about was I had to get another contractor to do a small item. It was only $80 on my part so not a big deal. When the tub was installed and I was looking at it between the floor and the tub, there was an inch gap to the far left and an inch and a half on the right. My cat kept trying to stick her paw under there. Also, I wash my hair without getting in the tub. I used to kneel down on the tub to wash my hair instead of using the sink. My toes would go under it and I didn't like it. So I had my bathroom redone last year and a fellow made a frame for me and put it around my mirror. I called a contractor and he said, "Yeah, give me a couple weeks. I'll work it in." He had the frame all painted white and it's perfect. It looks like it's part of the tub. It goes all the way to the floor and I don't have that gap anymore.

When I use the walk-in tub, I just go in, shut the door and turn it on. Their tub is different than the American Standard because it has the bar that goes up to the top and it has a rain shower on it. The handheld shower slides up and down this bar to put it anywhere I want - from the height of the tub to over 7 feet tall. So I can sit down in the seat, slide that handheld down, wash my hair and take my shower.

Knowing that the risk of falling has gone away totally, it's nice. It was a lot of money though but it had been so good to use. Also, my wife is a lot younger than me so she doesn't need a sit-down situation for a shower. But with the rain shower head, the way it's constructed and the features, she absolutely loves the tub. Also, we let the water come completely up and turn on the jets and it's really nice. It helps with the aches and pains such as arthritis in my knee, my ankle and it also helps my back. I don't have to use it as an old people tub. I can use it as a stand-up shower and it's fine.

My husband dealt mostly with the Safe Step rep. He was very thorough on what he told my husband and my brother-in-law at that time and he knew what he was doing.

The installers were very nice. They were supposed to put everything exactly as it was, which they did, except for cutting a small piece of molding that went from the tub to the countertop itself. I've contacted them before about it and when the guy called me, he said, “If you wouldn’t mind, it’s just a matter of a few minutes, I’ll call you one day next week and go ahead and have somebody come out. And me or my partner will come out and take care of that for you.” But they still have not contacted me or done it. I ended up just taking a piece of molding and putting it behind the toilet until they come out. But other than that, it was fine.

The sales representatives from Safe Step were great. Compared to other walk-in tub companies, SafeStep seemed to be what I needed and the experience has been great. Everybody is enjoying the tub too. However, the remote on there won’t work. I also thought the tub would take more water and it doesn’t, but it's fine. I like the jets and I've been recommending Safe Step.

My wife invited the salesman in and the next thing I knew, he was measuring everything up. A couple of days later, they were installing it. The installers were wonderful. They cared about their work. They were really professional. There were no sleeping on the side, and they went right to work on it. And they left everything very nice. We've only used the Safe Step tub three times since we’ve had it. We’re still trying to get used to it and getting acquainted with the apparatus there - how to cut it off and on, and then the hot water and cold water. We haven’t had time to concentrate on the tub, but it is beautiful.

Safe Step installed a walk-in tub for me. While the tub is very expensive, I can’t stand so I can’t shower but I can get in the tub. My experience with Safe Step's representative was fine, and the installation team did all right. One of the things for the jet thing blew out. And also, I’m getting hot water out of my cold spigot. But Safe Step was contacting the installer and he's gonna come back. Overall, the company could take a little more time in explaining the features of their product, how to use them and what they’re used for.

Safe Step is the only one that’s truly made in the United States. It’s a much heavier product and it had a true shower with it as well as aromatherapy. My wife has COPD so when she gets in the tub and soaks in, we’re able to put in eucalyptus or lemon, which opens up her breathing passages. Also, the tub has its own lights in it, so we don’t have to have the lights on in the bathroom. The lights are part of a science called Chromatherapy. She also has trouble sleeping at night, so I have her bathe in blue light and green because green fights insomnia, as well as lavender. The tub also has Microsoothe jets that other companies don't have. That actually goes into the pores and eliminates toxins and acids that create arthritis and pain. It does a total cleansing system all over the body.

We use it more or less three nights in a row and our skin feels 20 years younger. It’s just incredible. What’s really cool is like in the morning when I take a shower, I keep the drain closed and when the water gets to about 8 in or so, I can still use the part of the tub and flip on the foot jets and the leg jets. My feet, toes, the back of my calfs, and my legs are being massaged as I’m taking a shower. I just rub my feet on the surface of the bottom of the floor because it’s a real no-skid surface. My feet are going numb and the stimulation from the massaging causes the circulation in my feet to increase. It puts oxygen into our body so that is knocking that numbness and tingling at my feet just taking a shower. What I’ve been finding, I never stayed in the shower that long. It feels so good.

They say the doctors tell us that if you soak in a Microsoothe for 5 mins it's equal to a one-hour massage. I soak in the Microsoothe for half-hour a night and I feel like Gumby on coil loops coming out of that thing. Also, my feet are starting to get like girly feet so clearly, I’m gonna get out of there and my toenails look like I had a pedicure from that two-hour. It’s unbelievable. And they do things like having a towel bar right on the door. I don’t even have to reach out for it. It’s right there on the outside the door. The guy that owns the company took a look of thought into that tub. There’s a few things I might change a little but it’s well thought out. Since having the tub, an enormous amount of the energy level has boosted in me tremendously.

From start to finish, their customer service is the most professional group of people I’ve ever dealt with in my life. The installation people, the sales, the company itself – I had some questions – they’re fantastic and right on down the line. The pricing’s better as well and Safe Step also gives a lifetime guarantee on everything so if something happens to me, I ain’t got a worry about somebody coming to fix it. They also make their own stuff so it ain’t like they hire Bob and Bobby Joe from around the corner to put the tub in. The guys who do the work are trained by them.

My husband has some hip issues that get a lot of pain shots in it because it's so painful. I thought that a walk-in tub might help with the therapy on his hip. I went online and I've seen the advertisements in different magazines 'cause I have AARP membership. I looked at American Standard. I looked at a Jacuzzi brand. Then, I looked at the Safe Step and it is recommended by AARP and Arthritis Society so I decided to go with that one and they were offering a senior discount.

The sales representative explained and was patient with my husband and me. She was here almost two and a half hours showing us everything in the brochure and doing the paperwork. She was wonderful and I thought she did a good job representing the tub. The guys that came out to do the install were very professional and they put a mask on the floor to keep the dirt down. Needless to say, they had to cut my existing tub and shower enclosure in pieces to get it out of that small area to the opening. I had a lot of sawdust-like white crap everywhere after they left. It's all through the house.

But they cleaned up the floor itself, swept it and put a decent thing. However, that stuff went through all the air conditioning because the AC was blowing. I knew that I've had some cleanup because there was no way they could catch all that and go all through the house and dust the furniture. They were very careful with everything 'cause we had wood. My husband had custom made this bathroom and put a wood ceiling in it where the tub enclosure was and down the wall. The installers made sure that none of that got damaged and they put the tub in and everything was great there. It's just after they left, I realized that the door wasn't straight because it doesn't shut enough and that should have some privacy at least.

I'm not happy with the way they left my wall that they put a socket in. They cut the hole too big and the plate doesn't fit. I'm also not happy where they left my door casing. They had to take that down in the door to get the tub into the bathroom. It's such a small area. When they put it back in, they didn't put it in straight and it's locked at the top sticking out. The guy is supposed to come back with a plate to cover the mess, but he hasn't so I called the main office and they're supposed to be sending somebody out the next day.

I'm also not happy with the seat not being fully heated and the back heated. The second thing in the brochure says that the back and seat of the tub are heated. Only half of the seat heats and the man told us that's all it's supposed to do. My husband got upset and said that he wanted both cheeks warm, not just one cheek. They're gonna look into that when they come tomorrow as well. These are little minor issues and I don't like it because I figured I paid a lot of money for this thing. Other than that, the tub works good as far as the therapy part. The massage and that kind of stuff is great. The jets for the seat doing all that was is wonderful. I didn't go with the cheap one, as I could have got one from Home Depot. But the tub is excellent and wonderful.

The installation seemed to be fine. It started at about 9:00 and they started wrapping up a little after 5:00. They did a really thorough job as far as insulating the well-holes and checking the drainage. And since using the tub, it has been easier for me. If anyone is considering buying from Safe Step, I would tell them to check on as far as what they believe they might want and go from that. It seemed like a more thorough job to make.

When the Safe Step rep did the presentation, we liked everything that he had to say about the walk-in tub. He was very, very knowledgeable about it. The installation team was wonderful too. They had to take another shower out from our bathroom, and they had to put another wall to the end. So, it took them longer. But they got it all in one day and in the daylight. They cleaned up really good after they had finished and took everything in their cars. They didn't leave any trash at our house, so that was good.

My husband had five surgeries on one knee, and the walk-in tub seems to be helping him a lot to walk better. He has less aches and pains. I'm not a sit still person but it seems very relaxing to take a bath in that. We like all of the jets. We really enjoy the heated seat and the jets. We also like it with the water changing colors. They ought to make a lot of money because they were carpenters, electricians, and plumbers all rolled up in one. They were really nice Christian guys, too. They even laid down some kind of drop cloth that ran all the way through the living room into the bathroom. I'm a little bit addicted to the tub and it really gives me something to look forward to. Safe Step had the shower, so I decided to purchase from them. Getting a little more explanation about stuff with the tub from their sales rep instead of just having to read it was good. And sometimes, if you hear somebody talking about it, you could ask more questions. The installation also went well. Once the installers came, I had somewhere to go. But I got back home before they finished everything because they had to show me how to use it. They got here about 8:30 in the morning and they left between 3:00 and 4:00.

So far, I'm getting used to my Safe Step tub. I mostly use the handheld shower thing and I use the rain shower part because I've taken mostly showers since I haven't had time to do a lot of sitting back and relaxing. But I've tried that twice and I couldn't get the water up high enough. The biggest problem I've had is that I don't have enough hot water to be able to fill the tub up. And if my hot water heater wasn't the right size, they should've told me from the get-go. They all looked at it and said it'd do but I don't know whether there's something wrong with my hot water heater. I've already talked to them about it and they're addressing it. In fact, I'm getting someone to come out and look at that.

My wife had a neck and back surgery. She couldn’t get into the normal conventional tub, so I got a Safe Step for her, which was number one in comparison on the net. It was a good experience all the way around, from the sales guy to installers. But when they had the tub installed, they figured out they got the wrong size. The salesperson said it would fit right to the door but it didn't. The installers had to open up the whole wall to get the tub in which they didn't say. It was a different size from what I had purchased. So, they gave me a $750 refund for tearing up my wall.

Having the Safe Step tub is like day and night versus trying to get into a normal conventional bathtub, plus the jets and everything. It helps my wife's back, knees, and ankles because she had a knee replacement as well. Also, what I really like is it's like a turnkey thing. The factory/installer is one person. That’s a lot of help versus buying a product and getting a private contractor to do the work. Safe Step did everything from manufacturing to delivery to installation. If you're gonna get a walk-in tub, go with them.

Shane came out and presented what he had. He was a good salesman. The people that came out and did the installation were courteous. They were good guys. But I think they installed the shelf on the back of the tub too low because that collects a lot of water. It collects a good quarter to a half of water during shower, so that you have to wash that off. That back shelf should be raised so that it is little bit higher than the shelf of the tub itself so that the water would fall back into the tub rather than sit there and collect. They also missed a little caulking at the top, but overall, they did a good job.

Shane did a good job presenting the Safe Step tub. But there were some things left out that could have been explained better or could have been better with a demonstration tub because I'm not happy with the tub at all. The only reason it is in the house is for my wife's safety. She's 85 years old, and she didn't feel safe in the shower that we have. So, we bought the Safe Step tub for her to feel safe in, and she feels safe in it. The tub has only been filled up twice in the 10 to 15 days that we've had it. I find it to be a totally unsatisfactory experience because I prefer showers to tubs.

The step from the tub down to the floor is a pretty long step. It is disconcerting because the floor of the tub is higher than the floor you're stepping down onto. So you're not prepared for that longer step. I have to help my wife out of the tub each time she is in because if I don't, she's gonna fall down just getting out of the tub. It is an unsafe step. I think the door opens in the wrong direction. Once you get in the tub, you have to go all the way to the back in order to close the tub. My wife only weighs about 130 pounds and I'm a 190 pounds, but I still have to go all they way to the back of the tub to be able to open and close the door. Also, the shower is rigged up, and even the hand held and the rail showers are totally as unsatisfactory as far as showers are concerned. I'm not really happy with the tub, but I'm gonna live with it because I bought it and paid for it in check.

And she says, “Man, I hope that ain’t all my skin!” And it was because she’s been in the hospital. My skin's dry and flaky, so I gotta get in it too. The only thing I don’t understand is the scent stuff. I put the drops in, but nothing comes out and we don’t smell anything. Other than that, the jets are all fine. I didn’t get it filled full enough the other day when my wife was in it. We turned that on, and we had water going everywhere. But that was our fault. We gotta make sure we got the jets covered up.

The installers came out and they were wonderful. They came at 10:30 and were gone at 5:00. They had to take out the old tub and the surround around it. I saw one particular model of Safe Step Walk-in Tub on TV and I liked the showerhead. Then the person that came to the house explained everything and showed a couple of videos. The installation team was excellent and I had no complaints with them. The guy did a top-notch job. I'm very mechanical myself so I know what to look for and do. But I kinda trusted without having to worry about what they were doing. My biggest fear is to have somebody put the tub in that wasn’t good so I stayed home through the whole process to make sure that they did the right job, but I didn’t even have to watch them. They were right on it. Things that I thought I would be complaining about, they took care of before I could say anything so it was a smooth thing.

I liked that I can slide the showerhead up and down and also have a shower with it like a regular shower 'cause I didn’t want just a regular tub. The only complaint that we have is the jets. We don’t think they're strong enough. But other than that, I love everything in it as well as the microbubbles. I've been looking at walk-in tubs for a while. I'm not that old and I'm not dire in need of one. I wanted it for a different purpose, just something to relax. It's nice to have a tub that can get in and not lay down in. A lot of days, I look forward to go home and use it.

Definitely baths are better than showers in a lot of ways. I enjoy it. My grandson really loved it too. He had a ball in it like a mini pool for him. It's perfect for him. It's everything I thought it would be. I was a little leery about my hot water heater in the beginning, but I turned it up and it seemed to be fine. It seems to be just perfect for what I have. I didn’t have to change anything on that and we have really good water pressure where we're at so that worked out.

So far, I've used my Safe Step a couple of times and I like the back jets. But I don’t think it has enough jets. The foot jets are pretty much useless and the other ones in the back that kinda hit my calf don’t do any good for me because when I’m sitting, I kinda float, so my feet go to the front and those two jets coming out of the front work good on the bottom of my feet. But then, the jets that would normally hit my calves are just pushing water and by the time they hit my calves, there’s no real benefit.

I was impressed with Safe Step's sales rep. Unfortunately, I swallowed everything he said, so it didn't all pan out. I thought that the tub was going to be bigger than it was and that I would have more room to move around. He also implied that I would never have to clean the tub and that it cleaned itself. But those are not true. He talked about the exfoliation of the skin as a big thing but that's not true either. Also, I have to sit down in order to close the door and I should be able to close the door without sitting. But if I stand, the door edge scrapes my abdomen. So they need to take their design into consideration there. But it is a wonderful tub, if you want to sit down in the water, which I couldn't do before for 10 years, and wait for 20 minutes for the tub to fill up to my waist. That isn't the fault of the tub though. My water pressure is not grand, but I don't know what to do about that except to have a new pump to put on the water.

Other than that, everything else seemed to be in order. The installer was very nice. He had his son and a helper with him and they were all very polite, well-mannered and clean in themselves. And I appreciated their courtesy. He also did a very good job except for cleaning up. I had dust and pieces of the tiny particles of glass from the porcelain all over the bathroom after he left. But I'm not very well visioned, so I didn't find it until I came upon it accidentally and I had to clean the walls of the bathroom because of the extreme dust. Also, I had a cast-iron tub and I thought that he would saw it up or somehow break it up more gently than they did. But he pounded it apart with a sledgehammer and that was where all the dust came from. Had I known that was going to be the case, I would have run some plastic around. He said he was going to clean it up but he didn't do it well.

Despite that, I like my Safe Step tub well enough. I have to remind myself that spending $14,000 was worth it and not to worry about how far down my savings it took me in order to be able to get into the water to take a shower with more safety. Also, their 100% guarantee on the product and the labor for any problems that might come up for the life of the house and the tub is very significant because it has a lot of electronics involved in it.

The sales representatives at Safe Step were all good. And the guys that put the Safe Step tub in were fantastic. The first time my mother got in the Safe Step tub, she was sort of scared. She won't get in unless I'm here. And then after that, she got a little better and she's doing great. It really helps her. We're very happy with Safe Step. I'm standing beside the tub and doing everything for my mother while she bathes. She bathes and I turn on the whirlpools and everything. I really like the jets, but they're tiny. And when they come up, they look like a cloud, and they clean your pores. I did try it and I loved it.

I thought about having a walk-in tub a couple of times. The first time, Safe Step was here and I turned it down. Now, I had a little money left. The sales representative was good and nice. The installation experience was okay and the job took six hours. They ran a line or a pipe up in my attic and my grandson said that it's leaking a little. But then everybody likes the Safe Step tub. I like that the bubbles are on my legs.

My experience with Safe Step is alright. They had a good salesman. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have bought the tub. The team that came out to do the install worked good together. The quality of their workmanship is good, too. They knew what they had to do. The quality of the tub is okay and I’m getting used to a couple of things, but if I was gonna design it, I'd design it differently. It was about the biggest one I could get into the house because of the doorway. I probably could have gotten something different. The way that this one goes is way too small than I at first desired.

I liked Safe Step's lifetime guarantee and how their tub was built for the convenience for the elderly. Then, once they were in our home, I saw the product itself and thought it was superior. Doug, the rep I talked to on the phone about setting up an appointment, was courteous. And when he told us they'd be here, they were here. The sales rep showed us the samples of what the tub would be made of and took us through the video. He told us about his experiences with the tub and we had no questions after talking to him that we bought the tub. He also didn’t put any pressure on us to buy. He just told us the facts and we made our own decision.

Then, Travis and his wife came and installed the tub. They did a great job. They were friendly, professional, and they showed us all about the tub. They knew what they were doing and they just got to it. There were no problems and the tub fit perfectly. They cleaned up after themselves, too, and you wouldn’t even known that they had been here. Overall, our experience was great and so far, I like the ease of getting in and out of the tub. It was exactly what we were looking for that we had the need and they had the product, and we bought it. If anyone is in need of something like that, they should talk with Safe Step and check them out before they make a decision.

Safe Step's salesman showed that their tub was more solid than the other step-in tubs that were available. He knew everything and he did his job well. Safe Step's tub is also a better quality tub than the other ones we saw, so we purchased from them. It took them three quarters of the day to install it and it seemed like they left about 6 o’clock in the evening. The guy putting it in had a better way to do it than the salesman told me that they were gonna do it and it was more hassle-free. So far, we really enjoy our Safe Step. It's so relaxing. But I have a problem with the drain and I hear the water trickling out some time. Also, the jets that come out at the back are really forceful and I've tried to turn them down, but I couldn’t. Still, having Safe Step has been a wonderful experience overall.

I have a 93 year old mother who cannot get in and out of a tub anymore. She couldn’t handwash herself. So my sister and I talked her into getting the tub. It would be easier for her to get in and out of it and there are safety handles. She finally gave in, so we got it. The Safe Step rep was very friendly, and answered every question I asked. I’ve got a lot of discounts because Dennis was a veteran.

The installers were very good. They covered my floors with drapes, and they also covered the toilet and my sink area so they wouldn’t get the dust. I kept the bottom part of the tub, but they cut off the wall for me and they took that out. You wouldn’t even know they were there. The only thing is when they took the frame off the door and had put it back, they had put putty around the edges, and now, I have to go around and paint.

When my mother puts water in the tub, she has to put the handle all the way down. She didn’t do it the first time, and we had a flood. We used every towel in that bathroom. But I told her that the handle has to go all the way down so it’s straight. It can’t be on an angle. She’s 93 and she doesn’t have that much strength, but she’s got it now where she can get it put down and it’s okay. She also uses the shower part of it. I would recommend Safe Step to anybody that has difficulty getting in and out of a tub.

I had a Premiere bathtub when I broke my neck in 2002 which I spent just as much money on. They went out of business and then I had no parts for the tub. I broke my neck at work and now my low back is fused. I fell on the operating room and just had surgery in Los Angeles. The thoracic spine went from a 97% curve in 2013 to a 90% curve now, so I have rib pain constantly, and I had to do the low back because L45 was going into the disc, it went into the spinal cord and the nerve sac, so my legs would buckle. Safe Step is something that I really need because the neck is fixed but I get migraines. This is a medical necessity.

I spoke to my CPA and asked if I can write this off as a medical thing and he said, “Yeah.” It was $15,900 which my broker nearly had a stroke. I said that if I go into assisted living, it's $6,000 every month. In three months, the tub’s paid for. The salesperson worked with me and he gave me the package. They were trying to figure out to get me cleared for surgery so we had to postpone the installation. It took a long time to clear me after surgery but they were very fine and worked things out with me.

I have used the shower every day and it’s wonderful. I gave my cleaning lady instructions not to use anything abrasive on this tub so it’s working great for me. I like the low threshold and the rain shower. I can’t wait to get into it and put the bells and whistles on and see what happens. I haven’t been able to actually take the bath yet because I’m flying to Los Angeles on May 29th to have X-Rays, trying to see how the metal is sitting, and he didn’t want me sitting in the water until he looks at the incision. I’m really mad at the doctors getting me dependent on drugs so my plan is gonna be four to six months in the brace and I want off of everything after that. I’m gonna have to learn how to deal with the pain without drugs and getting in one of the tub is one of them.

I was trying to get ahold with Butler Construction who put it in because they left a piece of equipment here. The guy, Zack, left some kind of an expensive electronic foot pedal machinery. I have been calling them, but I’m not getting an answer back. The other thing I can do is call the salesperson and tell her that I have this piece of equipment. I also had trouble getting ahold of the tile guy to put the grout back in. The tiles are taped-up with blue tape right now. I thought that was weird for a construction company. I have the grout and asked them about it and they were not allowed to do it. If they’re gonna do an installation, they should do the whole thing and never leave me with tiles with blue tapes. It was several years ago so now I’m gonna have to find somebody to put it in. Overall, I’m just happy to have the tub.

However, the installation process is disruptive to some extent. It took a while because of various issues that have nothing to do with Safe Step but more to do with the city of Sunny Isles in which I live. I am partially disabled and because I had a walk-in shower that was to be removed and the new tub put in its place, I was forced to use a regular bathtub during the period when the Safe Step tub was being put in. It was difficult physically for me. But I've been using the tub and it's very satisfactory. It does what I hoped it would, so I'm happy with the product. It's been a fine experience with Safe Step.

I could get in and get out of my Jacuzzi garden tub but I couldn’t get myself up. So then, I tried the regular tub, the guestroom tub, and I couldn’t get in or out of that. I knew that I had to do something which was investigating Kohler, Safe Step, and American Standard. I did not go into the American Standard sales pitch, per se. I had listened to Kohler, seeing what they had to offer. They were extremely expensive although it seemed like they were top-of-the-line. Then I listened to Safe Step and quite frankly, I was getting pretty anxious to be able to take a bath so I just decided on the Safe Step.

The Safe Step sales rep was very good, personable, and had knowledge of his product. The only thing was that I did not appreciate the fact that the salespeople knocked on each other's companies. I think they could have gotten my attention without doing that. I also found out that I was lied to by the Kohler’s salesperson so that got me a little angry. I was formerly a Realtor and there are certain ethical guidelines. You don’t cross those guidelines and that’s what I look for. I realized sometimes you have to badmouth but I didn’t in my profession. One should be able to succeed on his own merits. But that’s the way it goes.

The installation people were great, quick, and thus far, I found no problems. The only thing I found was that at the end they had not told me they were going to fill the tub. I found that it was full when they left because they said it had to sit for 24 hours. I wish I had known that prior to them leaving. However, they were very professional and did their job.

I like the hydrotherapy which is what I needed desperately for my osteoarthritis, but I would like to see more jets after the fact that I saw the America Standard jets. I liked the way they're better situated but that’s neither here not there. They all have their own style with the easiness of getting in and out. Everything works as they said it would so I'm just enjoying being able to take a bath again.

I would have liked to have had something in writing describing how each of the faucets work. They gave me something for the tub that plugs on to it but it's not enough detail as I would have liked. Like a user’s manual that's more detail such as the lever to control the showerhead or the height of the showerhead. I haven't found anything that tells me whether that lever goes up or down. Also, how to clean it, they said it real quick. I didn’t have a pen and paper with me when they were telling me so I have to call them about that.

Everyone should investigate all projects and then make their own decisions. This type of investment is very expensive considering how long you will use it, considering that it's towards the end of life. I would encourage people to check everything out very carefully and don’t make a decision basically at that particular meeting because all the salespeople say, “We have a price today, but it's only good for today,” just like a car salesman, so to speak.

We had somebody come over here after we talked on the phone, then they came and explained everything that they would do. They gave us an estimate and it was pretty satisfactory. It was a little more expensive than what we originally thought but comparable with the market. Our interaction with their installation team was really enjoyable as well. They were very professional and they got here a little late but there was a scheduling conflict. Besides that, they cleaned after themselves and explained everything that they were doing when needed to be explained.

We have a family member that right now who is recovering from an operation and because of the bathtub, she is able to feel more confident about taking a shower without any kind of injuries. We also like the fact that it has a seat where she can sit on, that it has a locking mechanism so that the water doesn’t spill out anywhere, and the adjustable shower head.

The sales rep from Safe Step came in upon our request and gave us the information. We decided to go ahead with the purchase under consideration, and a couple of days later, we decided that we wanted to do the purchase. We liked the product's features, quality and price range. Everything moved forward from there and everything went as scheduled. I got an initial call to set up the date of the installation and they called me when they were about two hours away. They came in on time and took two days to do the job. They did it very nicely, cleanly and efficiently. They set up the tub and gave us the instructions, and they went on their way.

My wife really likes the micro-bubbles. The thing that she does not like that much ‘cause it could be better is the time that the heating of the seat takes to heat up. The guy told us to do it several minutes before so it will kinda work right. Also, one thing I saw when I was playing with the gadgets when I was showing my wife is that the lever that one does do to do the hand-held showerhead versus the rain head could have a stopper, the same thing with the heat, so one doesn’t push it to the left or to the right to get sprinkle when one doesn’t want it. That’s something that could be improved with a little stopper button. Other than those, our experience with Safe Step was fantastic.

We were doing a full remodel on our guest bathroom and we were planning on staying in this house until we retire. We are not of retirement age but I have a lot of mobility issues at the moment so, we were looking to replace the bathtub with something that would bring us into our old age. We ran across Safe Step and it was kind of a geriatric look and I am not a geriatric yet, so I didn’t wanna go down that path. But when the sales rep came and told us all about all the different features, they were great. We decided that, in spite of the fact that it’s not the prettiest thing on the planet, we would get one.

I had a list of questions and the salesperson was knowledgeable about everything. I liked that she was not all about pushing a sale. When I heard early on what the price was, I told her that that was not what we had budgeted for a bathroom. The cost of the tub exceeded what the budget was to redo the entire bathroom and we’re having custom-cabinetry made so, I was shocked about the price but she went ahead and somehow made me interested in hearing more. It was a good experience with her. She was a real person and seemed honest.

Our house was built in the 80’s and installation was not as easy as anticipated. Normally, all they have to do is take the door frame off to get the new tub in. They had to cut into our sheet rock to get the tub in and we had just had the entire house repainted and had some sheet rock work done. Now, I’m left with having to repair both the inside and outside of the bathroom. The last thing I wanna do is deal with mud, and sanding and painting, but that’s where I’m left with. That was not ideal, but the installers were very knowledgeable and they were very nice people. They were a married couple and they were super nice and quick in spite of the fact they ran into some snags at our house. They dealt with that. So, they were here a little bit longer than they had anticipated, but they were lovely about it. Aside from having more work to do after the installation was done, it went smoothly.

I have been able to use the tub and I like it, but I wish that it was deeper. The amount of water that it takes to fill it is substantial and I am 5’8”, so it’s kind of average height but when I’m sitting in that tub, I have to put myself in a very strange position in order to submerge myself. It is a position that I will not be able to do when I’m an old lady. The water barely gets over the jets on your back and I’m still hardly submerged. It might come up to maybe my belly button so, I turn my body around and float in the water with my calves and feet in the seat, and my butt floating in the large part of the water, and my head sticking out over where the faucets are. So, it is a little bit of a distortion to get into that position. I can also soak by being on my knees with my upper body leaning on the seat, which is a really weird way of doing things, but it’s the only way I can get fully submerged.

For the amount of money I spent, I wish I was absolutely thrilled with absolutely every aspect of it, and I’m not. It needs to be perfect and it’s not, which is a shame. I don’t hate it so bad that I want them to take it out. We’ll keep it but it’s a huge expenditure for it’s not, to me, perfect. It will be perfect for someone shorter who is maybe 5’3”. They might be more submerged although they still have to use a whole lot of water. Also, the heated seat only heats the back and it doesn’t get very warm, so it’s pointless.

I’m not disappointed in the tub even though it kinda sounds like I am. I got tiny bubbles, the regular jets and the light features. I got all of the whistles and bells, and I’ve used all of them except for the aromatherapy largely because I use bath bombs frequently, but I really like the tiny bubbles and the handheld shower head. I’ve actually showered in that bathtub and washed my hair in there, just sitting in the seat one day, when I was hurting really bad and I just was not in the mood to stand up in the master bathroom shower. It was good and nice in that regard.

The service was very good and I’m assuming that what I was told was accurate, that in the event I need to have someone come out, it’s likely gonna be the same people who installed it. Even if it’s not the same people, it is their staff installers which is appealing to me, because often, service people don’t know the first thing about products. So, at least the bathtub people, they know what they’re doing and if I ever need service, I am assured that whoever comes out here is gonna really know the product, and that’s how good they are.

I am disabled. I lost the use of my legs in May, and I thought Safe Step would be a better deal than me having a regular tub, and then having one of those chairs put in it. I was so excited about getting it, where I could take a shower every other day, which would help my situation. But I’m afraid to use it because I have trouble getting in and I can’t get out. The first time I used that, it took me 10 minutes to be able to get in. I got in it, but I could not close the door. Because the door opens in, and with my legs being no-feeling, and I can’t move them right. Finally, I stood up and we finally figured a way to shut the door. The first time it happened, it was ungodly. I couldn't call my son to help me get out of this bathtub. It was very nerve-wracking and I was not happy with it. But the shower itself was fabulous. I loved it.

I called Dean, who was the one that worked with us to get it in, and he stopped over two weeks ago. He said, “Come on. Let’s see why you can’t get in and out.” I showed him how I can get in, but in order to shut the door so I can close it to take a shower, I have to do the same thing, turn around, kneel on the seat. If the door swung out, it would be perfect. Dean said to me, “I don’t want you afraid of it.” And he was gonna talk to people in the company, but as of today, I have not heard from him yet.

The installation team was excellent and they were very friendly. There were times where I had to have them to stop, so I could go in there to use the bathroom and they said, “Not a problem.” They were great. They were three older men and I was very well-pleased with them. I would refer them to anybody. This tub is beautiful if I was able to use it like I wanted to. So, I’m hoping somebody can help me figure out how to get in and out better 'cause we’ve put out the money for that and I wanna be able to use it. Safe Step installed a walk-in tub for me. They had to widen the door a little bit so they could get the tub in. Also, the plumbing was coming in and it was the wrong way. It needed to come from the reverse end on it. They had to do that. The crew did the job in less than a day. They did an excellent job. I enjoy the walk-in tub very much. But there was one thing about the shower curtain. It hangs out by the tub and if you’re taking a shower, your water is gonna go outside the tub. Also, Safe Step needs to tell the customer that they're gonna have to put in a bigger hot water heater. I had a 45-gallon hot water heater and it filled it up about three quarters of the way. I had to put a new 80-gallon hot water heater in.

Safe Step put a tub in for me, and the installation crew did a good job and cleaned up the floor. However, they had to cut the old tub out and it got dust all over everything, and I had to clean it up. Other than that, they did all right. Also, the drain plug is leaking and the remote doesn't work. I've been trying to get somebody to fix it. Mike came out and put a new stopper in, but it still leaks. I'm waiting for him to come and do something about it. He was supposed to come back last weekend but he didn’t make it. I also didn’t have enough hot water and he didn’t tell me that my water heater wasn't big enough, so I got a booster put on to where it produces more. But I still haven't used the tub that much because there's a leakage and the remote isn't working. I could get along without that, but I paid for it. My overall experience has not been very good because they haven't fixed what's wrong with the tub.

He gave us the rundown of what was on the tub, what each feature did, whether or not it was good for your health and what you could do. He represented the tub very well. The installers were real nice too. There were two gentlemen that came out and they were real friendly. Since we bought the tub, I've used it three times a week and I've enjoyed using it.

The sales rep explained all the options of the Safe Step tub and the experience when you take a bath in it. He said that they delivered one to a health facility place for them to take a bath in and a lot of them enjoyed it. When the installer of the tub called me, he let me know what time he was gonna be there. He was late, but he called and let me know he was gonna be late. He came and explained what he was gonna do and how he was gonna do it. He also noticed something that was off in my plumbing and he took care of it, so he wouldn’t have to come back to me to repair all he had to put in the tub. He knew what he was doing and they repaired everything to my liking before they left and made sure that I was satisfied before I signed anything. He filled the tub all the way up with water to see if there were any leaks in it. It was all done in one day and he sounded like he was professional with it.

I got the tub for my wife because she really couldn’t take any showers and I wish I had invested in it earlier for my wife. If she takes a shower, she has to sit down in the shower to bathe. The tub was the ideal thing for her and she enjoyed it. I am 68 now, sitting in it, and the warm water makes me feel good. Also, the people that had been to my home and noticed the tub loved it, although when I tell them about the price, it makes them think again.

They were very considerate and explicit in their comments about what we were getting. Then, the people who came out to install the unit went step-by-step. They said that they didn't find any problems and that it was gonna be fine. They also talked to us a couple of times about how the whole thing was going before the installation was completed and did a great demonstration. While the shower's price is horrible - it's expensive and is taking all of our savings - we are super satisfied with it.

They were very polite and friendly. Plus, they cleaned up their mess which made me feel good.

My back is very bad and I had two knee replacements so my legs don't work. So, to sit in the tub is what I really wanted. Because of the walk-in tub's seat, I don’t have to get in and get down in the water. However, I just developed cellulitis on my legs and I’m not allowed to soak in the tub. Moreover, I don’t think that our water heater can produce enough warm water to fill it all the way, and I don’t know how to solve that problem. Nevertheless, I would recommend Safe Step to my friend. I was having difficulty getting out of my own tub. Also, I hate showers which are like work to me. I cannot relax. Then, I read Safe Step’s ad in a magazine and which was an offer through ARP, so I thought of getting the tub. I also got the okay from the management in the retirement community we live in to have the tub put in. Then I called Safe Step. They had a good salesman. Also, the installation was very well done. My husband and son were here to watch. The installation was done by about 3:00 o’clock and the installers left no mess.

However, the salesman neglected to tell me a couple of things. He said I could preheat the seat and it would turn off after 20 minutes for safety. I thought it was a good feature. So, I turn on the seat and then I prepared to take my bath, which took five minutes or so. But when I came back, the seat was still cool. The person I got on the phone the other day told me that the seat takes 15 minutes to warm up. It seemed a little ridiculous to me and I’m not gonna stand around 15 minutes waiting for it to get warmed up completely.

Moreover, I got the tub for the massaging jets and I could now get out of it but I was not told that it makes so much noise. The noise has not been very pleasant. I’m used to relax in my tub and listen to the news on the TV but with the walk-in tub’s noise, I could not even hear my TV, which is just outside the bathroom door in my bedroom. I could hear the news on the TV if I turn off the massaging jets but I need the massage on my legs. The salesman joked about it and told us that everything was made in Tennessee, except that they get the motors from the foreign country of California.

Since we live in a retirement community and we have our own apartment, other people, especially women, are thrilled with the fact that I have a walk-in tub and they wanna see it. I cannot lie to them and I’m gonna tell them that the tub makes a lot of racket and it is not relaxing. It would certainly have been better if the salesman told us about it.

I had been researching other tubs for a number of years for my wife's arthritis. She takes medication for the arthritis which is not as relieving, and we were looking to get something for pain relief and relaxation. From all my research, including talking with a therapist and other medical professionals, the therapy tub seems to be the way to go for relief from such things as arthritis.

I have communicated with other walk-in tub companies and they've all declined to even send a salesman out because we own a mobile home and the tubs are too heavy for the floor. But the bathroom has a garden tub which has 80 gallons capacity and the Safe Step walk-in tub or step-in tub has 75 gallons capacity or weighs 8.3 pounds per gallon. Doing a simple math about it tells us right then and there that the floor is gonna hold. So while the other tub companies had declined to even talk about it, Safe Step, responded quickly to my inquiry. The demeanor of Safe Step's reps was very good, and I was satisfied with that.

Safe Step sent out their sales rep, Quinn, in two days. He was not very pushy, and I had very good interactions with him. He was very informative, and he answered all of our questions very professionally. I spent a number of years in sales management, and I was able to recognize someone who was sincere in his sales pitch. I had very good interactions with the installation team as well. They were also very professional. They answered any questions I had, and they were in and out. They did a very good job because the tub works quite well now, although my wife feels that the tub should cost less so seniors like us who are on Social Security and nothing else can afford them better.

Meanwhile, I have one suggestion for their engineering department. There is a knob which controls the air-water ratio, and when the water shoots out of the jets, you can add just water or almost just air. The knob is made out of either plastic or a polished chrome fitting, and it's very difficult to grasp especially for someone who is our age and has arthritis. So I would recommend to Safe Step’s engineering department, and I can even help them design it, being a retired engineer, that the knob be made easier for folks to grab. Also, the diameter of the knob is only about an inch and a quarter. A larger diameter and a knurled or a rubberized grip would really make a big difference in the performance of the tub.

My wife uses the Safe Step walk-in tub every day. She likes the water jets and the micro bubbles which are exfoliating and very pleasing. My wife now walks easier, and that has made a big difference because she's a wheelchair-bound individual. She either sits in a wheelchair, or I help her over into her power recliner. Now, she finds some relief, and if that relief keeps up with the weight, I keep telling her she'd be tap dancing in no time at all. So the tub works for her, and it worked better than pain pills. We've only been using the tub for two weeks now, maybe less, but I like to be able to see her walking too. I'm quite satisfied with the tub.

I had a perfect salesman from Safe Step. Bill, the guy that come and talk to me and put on his display, did a excellent job. I knew I wanted one before he even went through his three-hour pitch, but it was great. I bought it right off the bat. I had seen the tub, I liked it, and I needed it. My wife's 70 and I'm turning 65. Down the road, it could even be more beneficial.

Getting it installed was crazy. I didn’t think they could get that big thing in that little door. The guys that installed it were really good and they completely switched mine around. They said mine's got a right-hand door on it and I used to face one way and take a shower and stuff. Now, I turn around the other way and take a shower, I'm in the opposite direction. And I was kinda amazed. They took the doorframe out, didn’t have to mess with the vanity or anything and put it in there. I had it by 8 o'clock and at 3 o'clock, they were gone. They did an excellent job.

I fell out of a truck about four years ago and I've had some injections in my hip. The steroids they give me make my muscles weak and the tub has really helped build it back up, the therapy part of it, the jets and stuff in it. And I always just sit in the bathtub with that Epsom salt. Also, it's just relaxing. While it's still in half, I'll start out with the legs and then when it gets all the way full, I'll go to the both of them, all the jets and stuff. When I'm starting to get too hot in there and it's about 10 minutes for it to get ready, I put on the microbubbles. It seems like when you get out of it, you can feel them little bubbles going through your skin. It's amazing what it can do compared to the old hot tubs back in the days.

We enjoy the tub. It’s very good. My wife likes it and everybody who used it enjoyed it. In fact, I would recommend it. I’ve already told my daughter and she loves it. Safe Step had a fluctuation of sizes and that was why I went with them. Some of the other ones didn’t have that fluctuation. There was also the lifetime guarantee on the mechanisms and parts. That was one of the good factors on Safe Step. The sales rep also answered everything that I asked and was real nice. In fact, she even emailed me a sketch of the unit on the internet. I couldn’t find it and she had it. The installers were real good too. They did a good job on putting the tub together and on cleaning up.

The only thing about the tub is the aroma. The bottle they gave me, evidently, was about out. I used it one time and I didn’t have any more left in that thing. I couldn’t even really tell if there was any in the bottle when I even got it. It smelled like it but that was about it. When the installer told me how to do it, he said to put the drops in the aroma thing and close it back up. But when I called to see about getting more aroma, the customer service girl said I needed to put the drops in the water. That was a lot different from what they told me at the installation and what the paperwork shows. So I was out of aroma real quickly but she told me I can get some more at Bed Bath & Beyond. That aside, I like just about all of the features of the tub. It seemed like there are light shows going on too. All in all, I’m real pleased with the tub.

I have two artificial knees and my knees hit the tub and leave bruise marks on my knees. I had a different toilet installed, because I had a bidet on it, to the tune of $2,000 and it’s still rubbing. The first thing the guy said when he just stepped out of his truck, “I understand you’ve got a jet that’s out.” I said, "It’s not out. It’s loose." Then somebody else called and he asked what was the problem. And I told him. I also said the water’s not staying warm like promised. “Oh, you gotta do this, this, and this.” I said, “If I do that, I don’t get the jets. All I get are that little bubbly stuff that’s supposed to clean my pores. I’d like to have it warm where I could use the jets." And that was another fib that they told, that it kept the water warm.

Then when my wife and I were outta town, trying to get a little R & R, I got a call. “We wanna set up to try to fix that jet.” I said I was outta town and to call me on Monday. That was two weeks ago. I had not heard from Safe Step since. The tub is not doing what it’s supposed to be doing and they hadn’t fixed it. They’re just a horrible company, as far as I’m concerned.

They'd have absolutely loved to buy it, but there was no way they could afford it, especially when they had to come up with $1,000-$6,000 right on the spot. Typical salesman style, the tub is this price, but wait, we can get you some discounts (not very much in the grand scheme of things). My dad and I met with the rep while my mom was sleeping, she had just got out of the hospital and was finally able to fall asleep. My dad didn't feel comfortable with forking over that kind of money without talking it over with my mom.

The rep spent at least a half an hour trying to pressure my dad into waking up my mom. He explained to him several times he wasn't going to and why. The guy was really trying to pressure him into buying the tub then and there and said he wouldn't be back and most of the discounts would be gone once he left. He even told my dad if she was going to be sleeping the appointment should have just been cancelled, but if the company was up front about their price the appointment wouldn't have ever been made. Not to mention it was going to take 4-6 weeks to have it installed.

The sales rep was even nice enough to leave his empty McDonald's cup for us, wouldn't have been a big deal if he would have asked if we could throw it away for him, so it added on to his unprofessionalism. It typically takes a lot to upset me, and the way he was trying to pressure my dad into buying something he couldn't afford was really pushing my buttons and I was about ready to tell him to get the hell out.

We purchased a walk-in tub from Safe Step. The interactions with the reps were very good. They were professional. We like that we can just walk into the walk-in tub and sit down. We are very well satisfied. We spent a lot of money on it. However, the other day, my caregiver was either putting me in the walk-in tub and the little glass door at the top that slides in cracked off. We called about it and they said they'd send one out to replace it.

I had knee surgery and it was hard for me to get in and out of a tub. I talked my husband about getting something like a Safe Step walk-in tub so it would make it easy for me to get in and out and take a bath as well as have some water therapy on my knee. The salesman who came told us about the Safe Step product and gave us all the information on it and what it would do.

The walk-in tub that I got has handrails and a seat. Being able to sit down and take a bath has helped. In addition to that, my husband takes a bath and my son likes the walk-in tub since it got a shower head that is tall enough for him. Other than that, Safe Step didn't fix a place for the water that gets up around the edge to drain off back into the tub. When my husband and son take a shower, it splatters off to the back and the side, and there's a little groove there that I put a washcloth to try to keep the water from coming down on the floor. Still, my experience is alright and I would recommend Safe Step to other people who I know could afford it.

The installation team was good as well - the way they put the tub in, the way they cleaned up and their attitude while they were here. Our interactions with the Safe Step sales rep were very good and the installers were professional. The only thing I had with the sales rep was he didn’t explain about the water heater. The tub he sold us is a bigger size. It's 105 gallons and our hot water tank is only a 40-gallon tank. It doesn’t supply enough hot water for the tub. We can't fill the tub all the way up and we've been using showers mostly. Other than that, I feel safer using our Safe Step walk-in and we like it. I just wish I could use it more often. Now, we got to invest in a new hot water system.

I have a Jacuzzi, and I got in it, but when I got ready to get up, I found it difficult to lift my body weight out of the tub. I thought that, at my age, it wasn’t as safe, so I decided to try Safe Step because of the safety. The salesman was friendly and knowledgeable, although there were some things that he told me that weren’t so. I’ve also discovered a couple of things as a result of interacting with the guys that came to install the tub, that, sometimes, the salesman has never seen an installation and he really doesn’t know what goes on when the tub is being installed and what has to happen in your house to take an old tub out and put in a new tub. The salesman was good and fun, nevertheless.

The installation team was excellent. They were on time. They had to take two doors off to make a corner turn to install it and they were careful with the way they handled it. They were here for about five hours, but they knew what they were doing and did a good job. And when they left, it was neat and clean. The salesman took a picture of my hot water tank in the house and he documented that he took a picture of the tub. And in the finance department, he wrote on the contract that he gave me a $750 deduction for the tub.

He told me that he was gonna give me a discount for my tub, but he never told me that the capacity of the tank that I had in the house would not accommodate their unit because the unit requires 84 gallons of water to fill it up. When you put a body in it, it is going to displace some of the water. You don’t have to put the whole 84 gallons in there. But with a 30-gallon tank in the house, it is a clinical impossibility to supply enough hot water into the tub that needs 84 gallons, and that is what the salesman did not tell me. He could’ve told me that I was gonna need a bigger hot water tank to keep up with it.

Subsequently, I had to buy a new hot water tank, so I bought a 75-gallon tank which cost $2,300 and had it installed in addition to the $14,000 that I had to pay for the tub. However, if the salesman told me that I would have to buy a new hot water tank, I never would have bought the tub. I’ve learned since then that I could’ve installed some grab bars on the wall in my own bathroom and I could’ve kept my own Jacuzzi tub. I could’ve used that bar to help me lift my body up out of the tub, so I wouldn’t need to get a new tub. Also, even with the new tub, the water regulating valve is not working. When they established it, they told me they had set the water temperature gauge at 102 degrees in order to keep me from scalding myself.

If you move the dial from 6 o’clock to 12 o’clock, you are gonna go for cold water. If you move it from 6 to the right, going up, you call for more hot water. There is a unit on the valve that you can click that will release the valve and allow it to go all the way around up to 12 o’clock going on the right side of the tub, and that is when you put a demand for more hot water, but you have to press it in order to get it to move. Other than that, it won’t move, which is okay. I tried to use the override. I pushed it and it went all the way around on the right. It pushed it to the right, but it should not have gone that far, so I pushed the override and it went loose, which let me know that the valve was defective. So, I put in a call for them to give me a service call, but it took around 10 days. I could never get anybody out here.

I called the guy that installed the tank and he told me that he would send an email to somebody. They told me to call a number for service. It was an 800 number, but every time I called that number, they told me to hold on. They said, “Hold on because all of our representatives are busy talking to other customers.” Then, they would come on the line and say that nobody is available. They would tell me to leave my name and number and that they would call me back. When I call 800 989 5101, they never let me talk to anybody.

I called the salesman and I told him about the situation and he said, “Oh, that’s terrible. I would send somebody a text message and somebody will get in touch with you.” It took another four or five days. Subsequent to that, a gentleman came out, looked at the valve and determined that it needed to be adjusted. I stood there and watched him adjust the valve. He stayed here until the water was running and the valve was working.

It takes at least 10 to 15 minutes for the water to fill up in the tub. That means you have to sit there that long to wait for the tub to fill up. I got in the tub and I was ready to fill it up with my brand new hot water. It stayed warm until it got up around my knees, then it started running cold again. I messed the new valve that the tech adjusted and it didn’t work, so the tub was running more cold water. I called back and told the salesman about it and he assured me that he would send somebody a text message. However, I am still on a list waiting for a service person to come in and look at that. I told the guy that came to adjust the valve that it was faulty from the factory, but he said that they could adjust it. However, the adjustment didn’t work.

I am very dissatisfied with the whole visit, but as far as the tub is concerned, it is fabulous. It is very pretty and it makes the bathroom lovely. But I can’t get anybody to respond to me. I have a friend that weighs around 270 and she is 5’9”. She was at the house looking at the tub and I told her to sit in it. She got in and sat down, but she had to stand up because she couldn’t shut the door until she stood up. And her being obese, she was a little flushed in there. She said, “Oh, I’d probably turn into a prune if I sit here forever." With her girth, it would be a sloppy mess for her in the tub. I would not recommend the tub for anybody who is extremely girthy unless Safe Step could custom-build the tub for somebody who is fat.

It's extremely expensive but I would not have spent the money if I had not been 82 years and thinking that if I don't spend it, somebody else will. They had two big vans outside and they were in and out, and in and out. When I offered them coffee, they said no. They worked hard and did a good job. It was dusty but they cleaned up and it really looked nice.

The tub is smaller than the one we usually use though. My husband is a big man so he has a hard time turning around. There's not a lot of room. As for me, the first day I got in there, I sat down and the water came up and came up. I said, “Haaa! My God! Where is that button?" I called my husband and he finally came in. The button was way down in the bottom. It had pink stuff in it so I couldn't see the bottom. But I have learned my lesson and other than that, it’s very enjoyable.

Also the shower unit which comes out of the upper flat surface where the faucets are located, because it is level, the water spills over the edge and onto the floor.

There is no lip on the edge to keep the water from spilling over. And they continued the lies, first call to them about the HWH, they said they would at no charge to us give us an HWH booster and an lip for the edge to keep water from spilling over when using the shower. Several weeks later after no call to schedule an appointment, my second call to them they reneged and said they could not do that at all---. A 3rd they changed their minds again and l said they would and would set up an appt later that day to come and fix the problems. They have yet to call. I didn’t like that he kept talking and didn’t give you a chance to say much but when I had something to say, he listened and addressed my questions and concerns. So, I was very impressed with him. The Safe Step representatives were awesome, extraordinarily polite and efficient. They were considerate and experts at what they did. They were the best and made me feel good about buying the Safe Step shower. However, you can have the contractors.

The gentleman who did the installation originally did an excellent job. However, he did not place the shower correctly. The water went down into my basement ceiling when I showered and it caused damage to my ceiling, to some of the woodwork there and the carpet itself. So, he had to come back and redo it. The way the shower looked the first time was what I expected but when he redid it, it was a sloppy job. Everything was incorrect and it didn’t look like it was a professional job. I understand that the contractor came in and corrected everything. They fixed my shower and the ceiling downstairs which looks good. They ended up doing an excellent job but they started on it December 22nd and by the time that I was hoping to take a shower, it was January 15th.

I never wanted the tub but it’s okay. I had leg surgery and I was having trouble raising my legs over the shower. I use the hot tub when I shower. The shower is excellent, but it’s a little awkward. It takes getting used to because I can sit down and wash the top of my body, but the seat is all the way back. Also, if you shower on the seat that they gave and put soap on you, you’d slide out of that seat. Now, we’re doing that a little slowly. One of the representatives from Safe Step gave me a heavier seat.

I found Safe Step on the BFW Magazine and went with them because of the recommendation. Also, I knew going by other brand names per se, like Jacuzzi, I would be paying more the name than anything. Safe Step pretty much did everything. They told me right off the bat that they won't paint which was fine. They said they do everything and that was a little bit of a shock to the guy that was doing it because he understood that we were going to go ahead and supply the door, which we weren't told to. So, there was a little confusion there. But they went ahead and did it because of the representative told us that they would. Also, I had to call them back for like a trim work to finish up because we had a tile missing because they had to move the door away. That was something extra that they came in and fixed real quick. They found a solution that worked for both of us.

Other than that, the installation went very well. The guy had a long day and he didn't get done until about 8:00 PM. Towards the end there, he wanted to get home, I could kinda tell, but he was still professional about it. The only thing is about the flow rate of the tub. Since it has greatly increased, they need to tell the consumer a little bit more about that because we have on demand water, an electric one. And it will not keep up with the full flow if I turned it all the way up. It will only do about half because we measured the flow rate at about 5.1 in comparison to a regular tub being about 2.5.

The first time I took a bath in it, I was tired, but afterwards it was so relaxing. If my husband doesn’t wanna use the tub, he just jumps in, takes a shower, and comes out. But a lot of times he takes a long soak too. We love our experience with Safe Step. If I had to do it again, I definitely would. I’ve told a lot of our friends about it, so I hope they’ll do it too.

I thought that going for a Safe Step walk-in tub would be a better deal than having a different bathtub company, but that’s not how it turned out to be. For one thing, Safe Step is way overpriced compared to everybody else. But then there are not enough jets on the tub where you need them. For the money, I wouldn’t have done it if I knew better. Another thing, the people that put it in didn’t do a very good job. When you pay that kind of money for something, it should be a turnkey job. Plus, they left a mess and busted the stool that I had in there. I’ve been around construction, being a plumber for 40 years, and these people are amateurs. The company said they would get somebody back out here but some stuff is already messed up and there’s nothing they can do with it. I’m not impressed with them at all. They need to send me some money back.

I researched Safe Step Walk-In Tubs on the internet and it looked like they had the most favorable reviews. They had perks that the other ones didn't. We wanted a shower and a walk-in tub, we didn't want just one. And even their lifetime guarantee, is a cool thing. The sales representative from Safe Step was very knowledgeable. Not only did he tell us about the tub, he also told us about the health part of it and what items on the tub would help circulation and our skincare, and gave us some really good tips how to get the best use out of it. We had our tub with a lot of articles in it.

The installation team was awesome. They came in and got the job done. They answered all our questions, gave us a good walkthrough with it, and told us the things to be careful of and how to clean it. They spent a great deal of time with it but never appeared to be rushed or hurried and wanted to be sure that we had everything we needed. The bathroom was in excellent condition when they left. The tub went right in our shower space and worked perfectly. We love it.

Our favorite feature of the tub is the osmosis, where it comes up with the bubbles. My husband likes it because he has a lot of joint aches and pains and it has helped him tremendously with that. We are very well pleased with our experience with Safe Step. We think our investment is going to be something that we are gonna enjoy in our older years.

My wife was impressed with the Safe Step advertisement. She has a problem with the hip, so she couldn’t lift her feet up but so high. There was about a four-inch clearance which would work perfectly for her. The sales rep did okay but the install was a problem. The doorframe is not lining up with the wall. It does not fit well where the door closes. There’s a space in it so, you could tell that it’s not designed like that originally to fit the wall. The tub was installed before Christmas and I’ve been calling about every week to get somebody to come.

They gave me a day when they would come back and they told me it would be on a Thursday last week but nobody showed up. The week before that, they told me it was gonna be on a Friday but nobody came. And a week before that, it was like the first part of the week. I gave them my cellphone. It’s right here where I can answer it at all times and nobody has called me yet. The sales rep was supposed to come back after the install and check things out. I am waiting for him to come so I could show him the problem we were having.

Their rep was nice and I liked him. He sat down and explained the tub to us, from top to bottom. The installers were nice as well and they did well. It took them no time to get the installation done. My husband and I like the tub. It has the seat in it, the handrails, the big shower up overhead and the small hand-held shower. Everybody has to try Safe Step.

The commercial sold me so I chose Safe Step over other walk-in tub companies. The representative that came out was very knowledgeable about the equipment. He told me that I might have to get another hot water heater. The guys that came out to do the installation knew a lot about the tub too and presented it to me well. When they came and installed my tub, they said that I wouldn't need another hot water heater, but I do. Right now, I'm not getting the full benefit of the tub because my hot water runs out when my tub gets half full. I might have to get a bigger hot water heater in order for my jets to function. I can't afford a hot water heater right now, but I might get it later on. Other than that, the product is beautiful and I love showing it off. When I invite people over to look at my Safe Step tub, they say that I've done well and the Lord has blessed me, and I say that He sure has.

We thought Safe Step was the best company for this. One of the reasons that we went with them was because we knew that the quality of their product is good.

The sales rep came to the house and he was very nice. He seemed to know the product, spoke well, and wasn't pushy. The installation went very smoothly. It was an eight-hour thing that took up most of the day and the installers left at 5:00. The quality of the bathtub that we have is very good.

I researched before and decided I would try Safe Step. There was a little difference in the prices with another company and Safe Step had even more to it at this time than when I first encountered it. We also needed it because we are of old age. Our rep was wonderful and he explained everything. He was on cue on when it would happen, what time, and all that so everything was great. Our tub installation was good too. The installers were on time and did a wonderful job. They explained what was going on and gave me the information on how to operate the walk-in tub. They also cleaned up by themselves what little that was there. They checked everything away, which was great, and I was very happy with it.

Everybody needs a Safe Step walk-in tub. But I can only ask for one other thing that the company should think about and that is making the tub just about another foot longer because of the way you're going in it and sometimes, you have to kinda back up to it. Other than that, it's great. But Safe Step can always do some modification to make it even better. They can maybe have two sizes, one for a little smaller person and one for a little larger person.

I saw Safe Step Walk-in Tubs on TV and in magazines. I got literature in the mail too. There was so much input on it and everyone said it was the number one. I had a wonderful salesman. He was so knowledgeable and kinda working for us. We also got wonderful young men for our installation. You're always a little apprehensive about who's gonna be in your home, but they were courteous, thoughtful and kind. They can come back at any time. There was also an electrician who was older. He got his job done and got out.

I am completely satisfied with the way they handled everything. They were concerned about the finishing touches and they did an excellent job. Safe Step should keep all of them on the job - the salesman, the two installers, and the electrician. It's is so easy to get in our walk-in tub and I like the preheating the seat. I don't always get in there and run it full, though. I just get in there, wet my body, soap up and rinse off. It depends on my mood.

When I was purchasing from Safe Step, I dealt with a rep that was very nice. Although he was here quite a while, he did well in telling us all about the walk-in tubs. The installation of the walk-in tub took all day, but the installer didn't do a very good job. We had to have another guy to come in and do a lot of work that he didn’t do. The second guy was able to get everything up to standard but we still got a couple of things on the outside of our tub that keeps falling out. Another thing that I’m not too satisfied is the handle on the tub. They could have made it tighter and put it on the other side where our knees don’t touch it. We gotta be real careful. If our knee touches it, it’ll lift that right up. Other than that, everything seems to be well and I like the tub.

I don’t like showers and I would rather sit and take a bath, so I started thinking about a tub. Safe Step Walk-in Tubs sent a lady out and I was impressed with the way she talked and everything sounded good about it. They installed the tub on a Friday and they told me to wait 24 hours to use it, which I did. When they checked it out, there was nothing wrong. It had no leaks. But the Saturday following the day of installation, I got out of the tub and my bath mat and everything around it was soaked. So, I called them and it took them a day to get out here. When they checked it out, they couldn't find anything wrong with it.

I was hesitant to use it after that, so I went back to the shower. But I was tired of that, so about a week later, I got back in the tub and everything was fine. I have a lady who stays with me and she woke me up the following morning to tell me I needed to get up. I had water pouring into my basement. The pipe coming in from the outside water supply was broken loose and there was about three inches of water all over my basement floor. This basement was a finished basement, not just a concrete floor. Everything in there was drenched, so I needed to get the things out of there before it started molding.

I called Safe Step and it took them 24 hours to get out here. I had to do turn off the water coming into my house. I’m not in a city, so we have a well and if you have no power and if your water’s turned off, you can’t use the septic tanks. When the guy checked the tub out, he found some type of valve that he said he had never seen before and they didn't use. He went to Lowe's and got something else and came back and put it back together and everything has been fine since then.

I didn’t like the way they handled the service though. When they called me from their main office, I told them that the guy who came here told me that the leak was all on them but the person on the other end of the line told me that he did not say that. I told him to shut up because he did say it and that I have a witness who heard him say it. But they just kept trying to put the blame somewhere else besides on them. Finally, I told them that I will not argue about it and that I’m gonna call my insurance company and attorney and they told me to go ahead. Overall, I love the tub but I am not happy with the company.

I had a terrible experience with American Standard. Their representative was not honest. She told me that my hot water heater was adequate for the tub but it was not. Also, I live in a complex with 200 units and the water coming to my area is not adequate. If I was to try to fill the tub, it would take 45 minutes. So my water pressure is not good and I cannot use the tub. She’s a very disappointing representative and she should have told me when we signed the contract that I could've changed the water heater and made the necessary arrangements. She also told me that they would have to get a permit to install the electrical. But after the electricians did the job, nobody ever came to inspect whether they had done a satisfactory job. So, I hope I don’t have any problems with that.

Other than that, the two men that worked on the installation were very professional and they did their job very well. But since they were responsible for demonstrating the controls on the unit, I wish they would have said that I didn't have enough hot water. But they didn't. Instead, they filled up the tub and it was not hot water.
