We decided to cancel our service and go with another company after discovering that we could pay less than half as much and get TWO pickups a week with a competitor. We had been with Republic Waste for about 12 years. During the recent bad weather they missed picking up for two weeks straight. When I called to cancel I was told that we would have to pay a $45 charge for them to pick up our can. I offered to deliver the can somewhere, but was told that wasn't possible. I pointed out that they had failed to pick up our trash for two weeks that we had PAID IN ADVANCE this month, and they should get the can for no charge, and that was met with total silence at the end of the line. Avoid them, you can do better.

Took them 2 weeks to deliver dumpster and every time we called there was a new excuse. Finally got dumpster delivered, we were supposed to have weekly pick up. Weekly very quickly turned into once a month pick up even though we were being billed for weekly. Again every time we called we got a new excuse. Final straw was when my husband called Monday the 19th and was told they would be there by 5:30 to pick trash up. Never showed. We called, demanded a full refund and the dumpster to be picked up. We were informed that the supervisor would call us back within 48 hours. Well here we are a week later, many calls later but never any calls back. We get home today to the dumpster gone but half the garbage was left behind on our lawn. Worst company you can ever deal with.

I live in a rural area, the ONLY company that will service my residence is Republic Waste. From the first phone call I made to them setting up my account I received horrible customer service. Was told I would receive waste containers... Never did (because my neighborhood does not get them). Why I was told I would receive them... I have no idea. Besides this, I learned very quick that I have to keep my garbage cans at the end of my driveway AT ALL TIMES because they don't come on the assigned garbage days. They come whenever they want. I didn't get my trash picked up for a week and along came hurricane Irma... Cans still full and garbage truck never came leaving me with 10 days of trash during a hurricane. Then I get a bill for triple what my bill is suppose to be and when I call and talk to a representative he has no idea why and cannot help me. If there was an option for 0 stars this is what I would rate this company.

Similar issues as described below. They stopped billing me, then used it as an excuse to close the account and charge me fees to reinstate it - which I didn't do. CGS is cheaper. I called Republic three times to clear up the issue, thinking it was taken care of each time, but they never fixed the issue. I dropped my landline and switched to my cell, but they wouldn't make the change. Bills started going to the ex for some reason (our divorce was well over a year ago so why switch now?) and after three calls, they wouldn't change the billing address back. They kept my money so I kept my can. Republic Services is a joke. Don't use these crooks. Better, cheaper options are out there.

I have called this business 3 times and my landlord has called an additional time to complain about the time this company picks up trash. Multiple times it's picked up at 4am, 4:36am, 5am, and today 5:36 am. The pickup is at a cleaner's American Cleaners in Watson Road but the dumpster backs up to a residential complex. I would think there is a law about waking people up to pick up trash. They need to wait until 7am. I'm thoroughly disgusted with the lack of results from this company and I'm sick of being woken every Tuesday for them to pick up trash.

We cancelled service in July prior to our next billing cycle... Then they charged us a 5.00 late fee for God who knows what. Now they are charging us an additional 97.00 for removal of their waste cans that we were renting monthly... That they never informed us we would have to pay for them to pick up their containers!!! Downright criminals. Stay away from this company!! Many cheaper mom and pop services out there who provide better service for a way cheaper fee.

I initially asked them for a 40 Yard Dumpster at a location. The dumpster never reached on the said time. It took forever for them to place a dumpster on the location. The workers came and since they were without a dumpster they did not do any work and I had to pay them for the whole day. I had to call them again and again. Then once the job was finished I asked them to remove the dumpster, again they took forever to pick it up. For almost 2 months the dumpster was just sitting at the location for no reason.
Neighbors started to dump their stuff too in it. Adding more injury to my wound, they confused my invoice with my order at another location. It took forever to explain it to them and mess around with correct amount of money due; one time they will say a particular amount, then later they will say otherwise. They will waste your precious time on the phone. You will call them again and again and they will not resolve your issue. Absolutely waste of time company. I will never ever recommend you this company. There are other good one out there.

OMG, where to begin. First of all, my ex wife had the trash bill in her name only, so when she moved out after our divorce, she left an unpaid balance of $90. I called Republic Services to start new service in my name with a new account number. They said ok and after a week they suspended my service and said I had an unpaid balance of $90. I argued with several different people including a supervisor named Christine in the Phoenix AZ call center and headquarters.
They took me to a collection agency with my name only and said I owed $151. I paid all the money at once and they still haven't returned my container and they still haven't reopened my account. They did all this to me because it was for my address even though my ex wife was responsible for the bill before she moved. I was responsible for the mortgage, she paid the utilities. This place has serious issues and every time I called I got someone different who would always tell me something different that didn't make sense. This company needs to be reported and investigated by the Better Business Bureau.

They came door to door and offered a deal. I had adequate service with them for 2 years. After always paying my bill on time and cancelling service they want another $162.04 from me. Now I have bill collectors contacting me. The yard service was about $130 for the season Apr. thru Nov. I cancelled in March, they said I was under "contract" for another month which put me 1 week into yard service. They want to collect for the entire season, and then about $30 service charge to pick up their containers.

We had been very responsible customers of Republic Service since 2011. We paid our quarterly bills on time without a single day delay. We had to move to another city due to new job and we listed our house for sale. Republic Services were sending bills quarterly and we still were paying our bill even though we were not getting service from them. Because we didn't want to cancel the service before the house is sold. After we paid three months advance bill (Feb, March & April) in January 2016, they stopped billing us afterward and we didn't even notice that they were not billing us.
All of a sudden, we got a letter requesting to pay $151.25 from a collection agency on July 28, 2017. This was a shock to me. Because they themselves stopped billing and in addition they never try to contact us by the cell phone they were using to call us in the past. In addition, we were paying $74 quarterly and so I didn't understand how they came up with the above figure. I contacted them by phone and they were not helpful. I sent email twice, they didn't respond to it. I am paying the whole amount today as I don't want to have a dent on my credit history due to such horrible customer service.

To make a LONG story short, I signed up with Republic Services in 2012 and my bill for a 4 yd. dumpster was about $100 a month. At the beginning of 2017 my monthly charge had gone up to almost $175 a month. After many, many minutes on hold and many promises to lower my rate and promises of faxing a new contract I finally gave up and contacted a different trash company.
I sent Republic Services a registered letter requesting that they pick up their dumpster on Aug. 31. They didn't pick it up and now they are saying they can't pick it up for a couple more days. I have never dealt with a more unethical and dishonest company. I don't know how they can stay in business. I would strongly recommend that people do not do business with this company.

Republic Services forgot to pick up a dumpster at a rental house down the road from me and six months later, it was still there. When the new tenant moved in, he asked that the dumpster be retrieved. The geniuses at Republic instead picked up MY dumpster down the road as they had lost any record of the previous dumpster, leaving that one still sitting, overflowing with trash. When my husband called to ask what the deal was, he was informed that even though it was technically Republic's fault, he would need to pay up the bill and also pay two months in advance "for a new service". So instead of righting their wrong and acknowledging their screw-up, it apparently was actually our fault that they can't keep track of their dumpsters. This is not the first issue that I've had with Republic and their horrible customer service. Mostly I am disappointed that I even bothered to give them another chance and allowed this to occur.

More like Ripoff Services. Raises prices constantly! I have 1 96 gallon trash can, I've paid up to $60 a month, I keep having to call and complain. March 2017 they raised it $9 up to $40. I called and complained this last August, they changed my bill to $18, now all of a sudden, my bill is $91?!?! The last time I threatened to switch they said I would have to pay a $135 removal fee for THEIR trash can!! I'm SO done with this stupid company!! I could take a Take a trailer full of trash to the dump for $13!!!

After 5 years of using them and the bill kept rising, we shopped around. Decided to change companies and cancelled their device. The conversation was "we hate to lose your business and would like to price match." What? So why raise our bill? Because we didn't complain. We were told we owed nothing due to being mid month. So 4 months later we received a letter from a collection agency for 11.52 for picking up our dumpster. The letter stated that after numerous attempts that we had not paid the bill. We never received a single letter or bill. They knew where to pick up our trash but our bill wasn't received. What is this? Put a mark on our credit for 11.00 that we did not ever get a bill for! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. It seems like a common theme among every other comment on here about Republic. They give lousy service and no customer service at all unless you call lies customer service. I canceled service with them 5 months ago after about 2 years of poor service. When they missed a pickup and I would call they would tell me that the truck was in the area and would be there later in the day... This was the same story each day for 4 days in a row. They had no intention of picking up until the following week. This happened several times.
I got the same bogus call about owing them $33+ for each can for their trash can removal. When I told them there was nothing in writing that I have ever seen that stated there was pickup fee and we can settle it in court if they'd like. I asked them if there was still a fee if I dropped the cans off and they told me I could NOT drop them off... they had to be picked up. I called other haulers and asked if they charged a fee and was told no. When I asked one hauler if the charge that fee he said "You must have talked to Republic" - he already knew what they were doing to former customers. And said that what Republic was doing was illegal. I was also told that ABC News had done a negative consumer story about Republic. I intend to inform our township and local representatives. Hopefully they will be banned from doing business in our area.

I had originally ordered trash services with Raritan Valley Disposal, who were subsequently taken over by Republic. Over the last few years or so, the billing has been increased frequently, to the point where they are totally noncompetitive, pricing that is almost double the rates of others. In February I cancelled the service, and asked for the amount of the final payment for services through the end of March. I paid that immediately. In April I started receiving bills, and a warning letter. My online account shows that the account is closed, and when I talk to the representatives, they claim that I owe container renewal fees.
First of all I only had one container, and they are billing for two. Secondly, I inform them that I made the final payment they gave me. Their reply is the contract has a container removal fee included. I inform them I don't have a contract, and if they insist I do, they can send me a copy showing that I agreed to it. Of course, they can't send something that doesn't exist. The last time I spoke to someone there, they told me the billing would stop, but of course now I get another bill. My neighbors, and our church, have the same issue with this company. Unjustified rate increases and harassing billing practices are apparently part of their corporate strategy.

I cancelled my service at the end of July 2017 and then received a bill for a container collection fee, fuel recovery fee, and administrative fee. I called to contest this bill and was told a billing representative would give me a call. The following day (today) I received a call from a woman I assumed was from billing; I didn't get much info from her, except that she was from Republic Services. I stated my case to her in a very respectful manner (more flies with sugar) and though I realize my opinion on not wanting to pay is not going to be a popular one, it did not warrant the representative laughing at me and replying very condescendingly, that was not going to be okay.
I decided to contact the main customer service line again, where I was told a supervisor could not be reached. She told me to call back tomorrow and request a supervisor. (hmm?) So I simply called back right then and requested one. I finally got through to a Supervisor after asking many times on all 3 phone calls to speak to one. I explained my situation to her. And she said they had no record of anyone calling me today. I responded by giving her the rude woman's phone number that she called me from. She ended by saying that she was sorry I was treated poorly, but I would still have to pay all of the charges.
Ultimately, not only was the customer service I received deplorable, but I was told that, even though the cancellation policy can't be found on the website, and the "policy" on the back of my invoice doesn't mention Container Collection Fees, I should have been aware of it. A business cannot have a policy that is not accessible to the customer 100% of the time. Not to mention the "policy" on the back of the invoice states I am only responsible for charges during my billing period, and these charges were all issue after that ended. You can't charge for things you don't make the customer aware of and then threaten them with Collections Agencies. And their "Customer Service" is atrocious!

I have two container pick ups with this company. Trash is mostly picked up on time, but for the last 5 recycle container pick ups, 4 pick ups have been missed. So I do the usual and send them an e-mail because by the time I get home and realize they are not going to pick up, it is too late to call. Getting a response usually takes two days. By then the container may or may not be picked up. The option on their e-mail tells you that if you e-mail them by 4, it will be picked up the next day. This is a bit hard for people with jobs that get off at 5, and not home until 6. This company continues to raise its fees, even though gas has gone down, and their service seems to be in a race with gas prices... down, down down. You cannot e-mail any of their senior management or directors because they smartly do not give out any contact information. I believe their future in this neighborhood is on a very short leash.

The company contacted me and told me they were not going to charge me the trash container removal fee. I am happy about that resolution since I had been with the company for over two years and had never agreed to such a fee when I started my service with them. However, from reading numerous other reviews on this site, these fees appear to be something they are trying to charge their customers who leave them due to the increase in prices other customers have experienced as I did. I would like to see the company not charge customers who have not been informed about such a fee up front when they join. This would be honest and good business. I thank them for doing the right thing for me, and I'll bump them up another star for the good service they provided to me, but in order to earn a 4 or 5 star rating, please Republic do the right thing by the other customers also.

When I signed up with Republic Services, their rates were reasonable, but after about a year with them, they started raising the rates they charged for trash collection so that within the course of a year and a half, the rate had been raised about $25 per quarter over the original fee. I found another company with more reasonable rates, and when I cancelled my service at the end of the quarter and the end of the billing cycle, they tried to charge me $33 for removal of the trash containers. This removal fee was not something I ever agreed to pay. The containers were removed, and I then received an e-bill for $66 about a month after I had cancelled my account. I called to tell them that my account was closed, and the woman told me that the $66 was for the removal of the trash containers. I again stated that I was not paying for the removal of the containers, which was now double what they told me originally the fee was for the container removal.

I was contacted by Republic Services after I filed complaints on a few websites. They reviewed all the information that I had provided and agreed that my concerns were fair. They agreed to waive off the fees that should not have been charged to me in the first place. This issue is now resolved and I am updating the overall star rating.

Signed up for a service with Republic 2 years ago. Agreed on a monthly price and was NEVER told that there would be a trash can removal fee upon cancellation. I remained a customer for nearly 2 years and then republic tried to increase the monthly price. So I decided to cancel the service and move to another company. After cancellation, they sent me a bill for trash can removal fee. I called their customer service and talked to Rosanna who told me that this is a new fee that they have added and since they don't do any contracts, I am responsible to pay that fee.
I signed up for their service well before they introduced that fee and I never agreed to pay that fee. How can they charge a new fee to a customer who signed up even before they implemented that fee? She refused to help or waive off that fee or reduce it and even threatened to send my information to a collection agency to ruin my credit history. I am extremely disappointed by republic services. The way their customer service treats customers is also disgusting. They lure customers in by a lower monthly fee and without telling the customers, they trap them with these hidden fees. You only find out about the fees when you try to take your business elsewhere.

We moved from Florida in September of 2016. Back to Iowa, my wife called and canceled service the week before we moved. In October 2016, I received a bill stating that I owed them for 3 more months (October-December), I called them to remind them that we have canceled their services as of the end of September and moved out of state and they said that had not been noted on our account but that it would get taken care of. I said "Okay, thank you," and hung up, once again that was October 2016.
In May of 2017 I received another notice stating that I now owed them $169.79 because of late fees added on from October of 2016. Called them again on 7-1-2017, spoke to another person at customer service because you call the main office, and she said she had it all taken care of after about 45 minutes on the phone with her (she was very nice), and now today 8-3-2017, I get a collection notice in the mail stating that they are trying to collect $59.56, Called again today, 8-3-2017, they said my cancellation call in September and October 2016, was not noted. It became a weekly process of calling, going on their website to reschedule, hope they came, disappointment. This company charges a premium for their service in addition to forcing you to use their trash cans. Finally had enough and cancelled service. The company I work for is forced to use Republic for our construction sites because the city we often work in has an agreement with them. Even though I ask them to repeat all of the information to me about the delivery date, address, placement, empty and return, empty and remove, etc., whatever they are supposed to do NEVER happens.
I spend on average 30 minutes to an hour every day with them trying to get things done, such a waste of my time. They emptied another construction company's dumpster and charged us - it took me 7 months, 32 phone calls, and many hours to get them to remove the charges even though they told me with every phone call that it had been taken care of - I received past due bills again each month for the charge. Customer service did want me to know that my pick up day was last Friday. Really?? You guessed it. Didn't happen on Tuesday, guaranteed for Wednesday.
Same thing happened on Wednesday. This time when I called got another higher up and he stated he contacted supervisor in the field. A lot of good that did me. Recently, Republic Services took over from our previous vendor, whom we loved. We were promised a smooth transition with minimal hiccups. However, for the past 2 months it has been nothing but empty promise after empty promise. Our usual pickups are Wednesday and Saturday, but since Republic took over our service, they have missed far more Saturdays than they have serviced. Not only that, but each and every time they have missed a Saturday pick-up I have called and requested a make-up pick-up. Each time they have promised one and each time they have failed to deliver.
We are an apartment building, so trash piles up quickly. It is imperative that our dumpster is serviced regularly for health reasons. Yet, still, Republic has yet to make good on a single promise of theirs to pick-up our trash on Saturdays or for make-up days. I've talked to several customer services representatives and been refused to speak with any supervisor who may be able to help. Our previous trash company has graciously tried to mediate to no avail. There is simply nothing we can do to get Republic to do their job and are at wit's end.

We were happy with our prior company but the city of Los Angeles did changes and we are force to have Republican trash company as our vendor. The transition was two months ago and since then I have been calling them to pick up our trash for one of our property. We paid on time. We have a schedule pick up for Saturdays and Wednesday. Every Saturday the big dumpster is not pick up.
I call the company and every time I call they claim that they will escalate the problem to a supervisor and never get a callback. The trash dumpster was never pick up again and tomorrow is 4th of July and you can imagine how bad the trash dumpster will be. This is an apartment complex of 23 units so you can imagine how bad this is for us as owner of the property and our tenants to have all this trash all over just because this company is forgetting the Saturday trash pickup. This is the worst company I have work with. I wish the city of Los Angeles would let us pick our own trash vendor.

When I called again, I was told it should have been picked up on Saturday, June 24. I called again and told it would be within 1-3 days. No pick up. Called again, and again, and again, and each time I had a different answer. Container was left outside all of this time, approx. 9 days, which is against the neighborhood regulations. I was finally told it would definitely be picked up on Friday, June 30. By 3 pm on Friday I called and was told that specialist would contact Mr. ** and get back to me. No one got back to me. At 4 pm, I called specialist who said there was a notation that if pick up was not on Friday, it would be Saturday, July 1. Naturally, it was not picked up.
I spoke to Jasamine ** on Saturday, who seemed to be knowledgeable. I told her that if pick up was not on July 1, I would NOT keep can in front of house again. Naturally there was no pick up. I would estimate that I spoke to at least 10 specialists, Tana, Jaqueta, Ms **, Shatasa, Jasamine, Jeffrey, etc. Charlotte, Indianapolis, Arizona. I have never in my life seen miscommunication like this. I was told they called dispatcher on many occasions, escalated request, etc. Oh, how I miss the small business personal service. My husband called Republic in Kalamazoo on June 15th to see it they took large items. We were told to put both mattress and springs out with the regular garbage. They never took the items. My husband called again to reschedule (June 26), hauled the mattress and spring out of the garage on the new day and they never took the items. When he called to reschedule again (June 28), he was told "they didn't see the new reschedule". Third date, move the mattress and springs back to the curb and again no show.
We borrowed a friend's pick up and drove to the Republic dump site. My husband checked in, surrendered his driver's license and dumped the mattress and springs. To add insult to injury, the women at the Republic gave him the wrong driver's license back!!! We've paid ahead for the next three months. Approximately one month ago, my wife began receiving a service fee that was out of line with what we had been paying in prior billing cycles. When she questioned the customer service rep(s) that she reached over the phone, they assured her that the errant billing was a clerical error and to not be concerned and that they would correct the information in their system. Yet the incorrect service charge continued to show on our online account information and today things finally came to a head. Today the customer service rep du jour (anonymous), told my wife that we did owe the amount that we have been questioning and that no adjustment would be made to our account and that our account was suspended.
So another call was made and my wife reached a better informed, more reasonable rep and she explained what their system showed a billing error and promised to make the corrections and update our account, lifting the suspension and releasing us from potential collections agency harassment. Now that this has been "resolved", we have cancelled our account and will never return to Republic Services again. Wow, who has time for this type of a hassle?

I began my service in early 2016. My bill for 3 months trash collection at that time was $64 and some change. During the time I received service from Republic, there were many times that my trash was not picked up as scheduled and a couple times the person picking it up spilled trash in my driveway and just left it there. This bill steadily went up almost each billing cycle until I received my bill in may for June, July and August trash collection. It was $104.28. When I called the company to question this I was told that their cost had gone up so the bill was raised.
I live 2.5 miles outside of a small town. Residents of this small town pay $11 a month for trash pickup through Republic. When I questioned this I was told that the town has a contract with them for trash collection at this price. I canceled my service and immediately secured service with another company for $74 every 3 months. I had signed up for autopay when I started my service with Republic. The day I canceled my service, May 23, I went online and canceled the autopay. On June 9 Republic took $104.28 out of my account without authorization. Horrible company!!! They take your money and your delivery fee but don't pick up your garbage. What a scam of a company!!! We signed up for them in April with service to start on May 5th. They picked up the garbage the first week. The second week they did not pick up our garbage. I called that day to find out why and was told 'probably 'cause the driver was sick or the truck broke down or something.' I then spoke to a supervisor who assured me that this is not how they operate and told me it would be picked up by 5 the next day which was Friday.
On Friday at 4:45 they still had not picked up our garbage. I called and spoke to a supervisor, who told me that I called in too late on Thursday to be put on Friday's schedule. He assured me that it would be picked up on Monday. Well it's Monday and they didn't come out. Go figure! I called at 4:30 and was told that the truck would be out that day, that it wouldn't be there until 6 or 7 (of course, after their office is closed). True to their nature they never showed up. In addition to their crappy pickup service, their call center is a mess as well. Expect to be on hold A MINIMUM of 15 minutes. (That should have been my first clue. Everyone's probably calling in to find out why their garbage hasn't been picked up.) When I set up the account I requested two garbage cans. Only one was delivered. When I called back I was told there would be another $20 delivery fee. I told them no, because it was their mistake. She assured me that she would waive the $20 fee.
A few weeks later I realized they did not pull the money from our account. I called and was told it had been paid. I told them the money did not come from our account. After pressing them about it, they finally gave me the account number that it pulled from. It was a Wells Fargo account but was not one of our accounts. In fact the account was not even close to any of our account numbers. I was told not to worry about it, that it had been pulled from the other account for almost a month, and they didn't notice it. I told them that was not right. They needed to credit that other account and bill me. They finally agreed.
They gave me the amount coming from our account, it was different from the original amount. I asked why, they explained there were prorated charges. They also mentioned two delivery fees of $20. I told them that I should have only been charged one delivery fee of $20. The first girl never did credit me the $20 as she told me she would. They are a bunch of liars and will tell you anything to get you off the phone. Stay away from this company!!!

Like other reviews you can expect at least 30 minutes on hold and DON'T fall for their bait of if you would like a return call in the order you are in line, you will never get it. Basic facts: Always on time. Found cheaper service from local family. Scheduled account cancellation before end of current invoice period. Their container was not picked up until days AFTER it was scheduled and into the next invoice period. Customer Service rep tells me at time of cancellation to disregard invoice. There will be nothing due. So after all this I get a "final invoice" that includes partial credit for the previous invoice. I'm still charged "Administrative Fees" because as the rep told me "that is charged anytime an invoice is generated". Almost $6 just for a computer generated invoice!
So to cancel my account BEFORE the next invoice period I basically had to pay: Container pickup fee for them to get THEIR container. Partial service fee for the period in which THEY left their container past the new invoice period. OH, get this one...a.45 late fee for the invoice I was told to disregard. Administrative fee for this invoice for them to recover THEIR container. Fuel recovery fee. Environmental recovery fee??? It cost almost a full month of service to actually discontinue my service.
Basically, as customer service and satisfaction go, Republic are money grabbers. It appears their major concern is greed and likely because, from my understanding, they are either uncontested in a lot of areas or they are the "big dog" on the block. If I could have given them zero stars, or negative stars, I would have. Speaking with the customer service rep gave me the impression that she had no empathy whatsoever for any of my concerns and was basically saying 'just pay it because we charged you'. If you have the opportunity to choose a more homegrown trash service, even if a little bit more (mine was actually about $1 less a month), I would highly suggest it and if at all possible turn and run from Republic Services. If you've seen the recent commercial with the little girl selling lemonade and charging all the extra fees, well that is just like Republic. Steer clear.

Initially upon my phone call to cancel service I was told that the container would be picked up (March 30, 2017), and I thought that was the end of it. When the container was not picked up, even several days later that I was told, I place another call to Republic, at which time I was informed I had another 3 years left on my contract because I called to have my monthly service rate reviewed. I had them review it because they increased their rate substantially. The sales rep appropriately reduced my rate slightly, and there was no discussion about a renewed contract. The sales rep they would send me (email) a copy of a contract that I signed which I never received.
Republic continued to send out a truck to dump the empty container. I received only one return phone call from a supervisor that said I was tied into a contract, and the general manager would call me within 24 hours. The call was never returned. I made one final call today 4/17/17 to let them know I have changed my bank account so they would no longer be able to access payments, and I will have the container removed myself if they don't pick it up. This is done by Republic Services by adding an additional late fee for the same payment period in success months such that late fees equal original servicing fees. In the past they also would lien property tax for payment and continue the amount due on their invoicing so that they would and could bill twice for the same service. I'm out hundreds of dollars. A few years back, when I complained, the City of Richmond finance person told them their practice was illegal yet they continue to do this to me and hundreds of other homeowners serviced in Richmond, California. Customer service said no that I must pay entire bill and wait for a credit minus $66.00 removal fee. I find this absurd. I have been a customer of Republic since they took over from Harvey and Harvey. I started out paying much less. Every bill is higher than the last one, with no explanation. Now it's up to 139.00. If I don't pay their removal fee they will send it to a collection agency. Can't anyone do anything about this. I had no issues with them until the time I moved out of my house I was renting and cancelled services out of my name. I moved out on 12/2/16 and cancelled services that day. I was later billed in January for an attempt to collect the recycle bin. I called willing to pay if I needed to, but was told since I cancelled services on 12/2/16 that they would credit my account and I would not owe. I then received a letter from a collections agency on 3/4/17 trying to collect $115 from not paying a bill with Republic Services. I immediately contacted Republic where I spoke with Cecilia and she told me I had a CREDIT of $8.96 on my account and I should have not been sent to a collections agency. She told me she was sending an email while I was on the phone with her to Republic billing dept. and she told me to call back in a couple days.
I called back on 3/9/17 and was told they did not see a credit and "Cecilia" never put notes in on 3/4 or back in January! Since there was no documentation on their end the supervisor told me it is owed and I have to deal with the collections agency. She said she would look into it, but I am sure they will have no record of that either. I paid the $115 to avoid it hitting my credit report, but they have the worst customer service I have experienced.

Enough of walking outside and having an odor so offensive that sends you back into your house. Enough of laying in bed at night and wondering if you have a gas leak in your house and then realizing it's just the odor from the landfill seeping into your bedroom. Enough of not being able to walk my dog or take my children to the playground because the outside smells so bad. Shame on you for not fixing this problem long before it's made people physically ill.

This is a "company" that needs to be shut down and ran out of the country. I'm a customer in Wayne County, Michigan. I have a small business and had a dumpster through this garbage company - big mistake! I've had their rusty dumpster out in front of my business for seven years. They claimed I signed a contract with them back in 2010, I don't recall signing any contract with them at all as I don't like to be tied into any sort of legal obligation without any good reason. My monthly charges started out at $58 per month, which has been steadily going up ever since 2010. My last bill in 01/17 was $109 for the month, oh they have it padded with all sorts of erroneous charges like environmental fees, refreshment fee $9? etc.
I tried quitting them a year ago and they never did "call me back". That's what they say when you want to discontinue their fraudulent scammer service, they'll have someone call you, they never call unless you threaten them with legal action. Don't call us, we'll call you BS. I tried quitting them again back in 11/16 and they never called then either. In 01/17 when I threatened them with legal action, one of their snide, sarcastic "account specialists" called and informed me that I couldn't quit as I had a contract with them. They said "we have your signature on it and you're locked in for another three years".
These SCAMMERS roll you in to a contract without your knowledge and renew it every three years without your knowledge and then try to hold you to it, I'm quite sure that is ILLEGAL. I told these people I simply want to quit, they threatened me with the balance of the contract ($3924), I told them what they could do with their contract and we could let a judge decide that if they wish. They said, "well there is a balance on the account for the last month" which they didn't render any trash pickup service whatsoever. I requested that the last month's charges be removed as we weren't using it and I had already informed them of that and for them to come pick up their dumpster. They said they would. They are liars. They did pick the dumpster up in a few days. This morning I open a letter from a collection agency dunning me for the last month. These SOB's turned me over to a collection agency damaging my credit score.
Allied/Republic needs to be investigated by State/Federal authorities for fraudulent business practices. Price-gouging, entrapment and fraud. I should have known with them operating under two different names, they were typical thieves operating under an alias. Judging by the reviews here, they've burnt many people. What are the authorities waiting for? P.S. Just found out the $9/month refreshment fee is for painting the dumpster, the bent up rusty POS dumpster, I was paying $9 a month for them to keep it looking nice? What a joke these people are.

It started with the break-down of the vehicle that we used to transport trash to the dump. Could not find a local company to pick up trash because we are rural. Finally find out Republic can do it. I go online to sign up in September. I got a stock email that someone would contact me in 24 hours. Over a week passed before I tried again. Same email. Three days later I called in. They set up service telling me they would drop my trash container in 5-7 days and my pickup day would be a Monday. 10 days later we still have no can. I email them. I get a response. It should be there in a couple of days and pickup will be on a Friday.
We are now a month into this process and my trash is piling up. Every three or four days I call in and each time it's something else. They don't know why I don't have the can. Once someone got hateful with me (I'm always nice to them) and said it takes more than a couple of days to get the can. It had been a couple of weeks by then.
It was the end of October before we got the can after it took them a week to find my house which by itself was ludicrous. Three miles from the interstate and one turn later our house is seen long before you get there, is the first house you see on our street, has the number on the house and the mailbox but they couldn't find it for a week. Oh, and the pickup day wasn't Monday or Friday. It is Wednesday. Right as we get the can we got our first invoice. They billed me for the month of October. It was literally the end of October when we got the can. We hadn't had service yet. I called and they acted like I was an annoyance but promised to credit the account.
Considering I had a month and a half's worth of trash piled up, the one can was not going to take care of the issue. I had asked for another can temporarily or a one time pickup of the extra trash. Every time I asked they acted like no one has ever asked for such a thing. They are a trash company and had no plan for how to solve this issue. It is the middle of January and it was today after numerous unanswered emails and unreturned calls that they finally agreed to pick up the extra trash. I have never encountered this level of incompetence and terrible customer service. If it wasn't for the fact that there's no other option for trash pick up, I would cancel in a heartbeat.

My former trash pickup service was bought out by this company. Since then, the price for pick up has steadily been going up! Past $30 as of this past year. During a rough time in September I was late on my payment. The company picked up their trash can in early October during the time my wife was having our baby. I went ahead and signed up with a local MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE service and called Republic to see what money I still owed. With no call back or further statements, I assume my account paid up.
Then three months later I receive a letter from them threatening to send my account to a collection agency! After several attempts I finally get a hold of a service rep who tells me I still owe money, including a trash can pick up fee AND a service suspension fee. The rep could not explain why they were charging a suspension fee on top of the other fees. I can understand having to pay for the labor and gas to pick up the can; but to ALSO charge a separate 'suspension' fee of $35 on top of that is ridiculous and makes no sense other than pure greed. So now, I am enjoying a much more reliable service from a Local 'mom n pop' service for only $21 per month!

The week following the Christmas holiday (so you know we had a lot of trash) my husband and I set the trash out at 430am that morning of our service thinking it was a normal trash day. So Wednesday came and went and our trash still stood (Now mind you, we live rural where there are lots of wild animals that would love to get into our trash. Not to mention it is colder than you know know what out here...NW Wisconsin). So we looked at our schedule and thought that maybe since we had a holiday on Sunday that they were running a day late. So we called and got someone in AZ I believe who reassured us that we were on the schedule and that they would pick up that day.
We waited and still no pick up so we called again. This time we got someone in NC advising us that would be picking our garbage up on Friday (Now our trash in the house is running over because we have no place to put it outside). So again we waited. At about 10am we called again just to be guaranteed pick up by 12noon.
Needless to say 12 noon came and went, at about 5pm we called again. This time my husband had had enough and was very upset and let the person on the phone know as much. This person proceeded to tell my husband that with the correspondence over the email between locations that we were said to be a no show with our can. So basically whoever came to get our trash said that our trash was not out on the curb. This was a flat out lie. That can had been out there for 3 full days. My husband let them know as much and continued to let him know that they had just lost our business to their competitors. This all could have been avoided but I do not appreciate being lied to, giving the runaround and then being called a liar.

When they do pick-up they leave empty cans in the middle of the driveway, in flower beds or worse in the road. Calls to customer service are a waste of time as nothing they promise is ever carried out. I have called their office numerous times to try to resolve these issues but your hold times of 45 minutes to 1.5 hours are outlandish. (The IRS actually answers the phone faster than Republic Services.)
We tried to switch companies only to find out that we were locked into a 3-year contract. So we decided to downsize the dumpster thinking we would save a little (and also be able to push it out of the road more easily on dumping day). But, switching sizes of dumpsters actually locks you in to a new 3-year contract. We are now in the process of sending a certified letter to the company (which they require) in order to cancel our contract. Republic Services is just one irritating thing after another after another after another. Bottom line - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

During the next three weeks I placed other calls trying to get the can removed, because I did not want to get into an argument on the can being used. Our church is a public place, and people have dropped their trash off into the can when we are not here. Many phone calls, very long wait periods on the phone, a few people that always told me what I wanted to hear and one terse email to Robert... the can was finally removed, and we did receive a bill for that month. I called and informed Republic that we would not be paying it, and they agreed with me.
Today I received a bill for removing the can. $213.01!!! As far as I am concerned Republic is dishonest and conniving in the way that they do business. We entered into a "fixed rate" contract with their competitor, and when I mentioned this to Republic, their response was, "You didn't ask for that!" I didn't ask for it with our new service, but they offered our church, who needs fixed bills due to fluctuating donations, a good deal. Republic just wanted money. I do NOT recommend using this service... even if they are the only one in town.

We are a 55 and older community who signed up for their trash and recycle disposal. We have been loyal customers of theirs for 14 years. Every 3 years we sign a contract with them at a very low rate and it slowly creeps up until it is double what we signed up for. We recently decided to cancel with them and they want to charge us 500 dollars to remove the bin, and $1,270 for "liquidated damages." They are stealing from old people and trying to hold us to a contract that is completely illusory. It's criminal what they are doing. If you do sign a contract, and do not send certified mail to them 60 days before the end of the term, it automatically renews you for another 3 years. Do not fall for it! Do not sign up for them. You will regret it immensely. It is a huge headache to cancel, and a tremendous waste of money.

We were obligated by the city of Dickinson to use this trash company. The rate went up. We had a Very good company with an excellent service Best Waste but the city officials made a good deal with Republic and we keep paying late fees and reconnection fees. Now I am going to have them get it automatically from my account. I live on SSI and we can not be paying this high rates. They are the only authorized company around here. Where can we complain If the city officials and government are getting a cut off this company by not letting other companies take our trash. We have no other choice and they do not pick up the trash as they should. We need other companies around here but city officials won't let them. What can we do?

We recently decided to change trash companies due to cost. When I called to cancel my service they told me I would be billed $30 for them to pick up the trash cans. When I said I would not pay this and just keep the cans, they said I would be billed $100. This is totally outrageous, the trash cans were not even Republic cans. I had also called a few months back to try and lower my payment, I was given one amount and then when I called back to change to that plan was told that price was wrong. Stupid me for staying with them so long.

At the end of July 2016, my trashcan was taken from outside my residence. I called Republic Services to order a new one, and the lady I spoke with was very pleasant and said it was on its way. 2 months, 6 phone calls with 6 different representatives and 1 supervisor later, I still do not have a new trash can. Every time I have called, the representative is very nice, but ultimately not helpful. Allegedly, multiple "cases" have been submitted, but every time I call, they have no record and are "appalled" at how long this process has taken. I have offered to come pick the trash can up myself, but was told "I don't even know where they come from".
This has been a completely absurd and unnecessarily lengthy process when they are at my residence once a week to pick up the rest of my street's trash, and when the representative told me they are in my area each day of the work week so it "shouldn't be a problem". Keep a close eye on your containers... if they mysteriously disappear, it will be a hassle to get a new one. I never even received a recycling bin, but I am so burnt out from the trash can, I won't even pursue that endeavor.

I have had 3 different experiences with this company in the last 3-4 months. The 1st issue happened when I placed trash in front of my home and everything was picked up except one bag... apparently deemed too heavy and not worth picking up. I left it out there and luckily the following pick up day they took it. The second time, I had my trash out in bags and in my trash can and nothing was picked up. All my neighbor's stuff had been taken, except for mine. I called and the first thing the woman on the line asked was how it was out there and how many bags I had in an accusatory tone. I explained and they arranged a pick up.
Most recently, I moved out of my home and left a lot of trash outside but took the time to make sure it was organized in boxes, bags and in my trash can. My neighbor text me that they didn't pick up any of it! I called and explained to the agent I had moved out of state and needed to request pick up since they missed my home again. When I told her there were boxes she said they would not touch any of it because of the boxes (which if this is the case maybe you should do a better job at informing the community of your rules). I asked her if there could be any exception since I am no longer there and can't do anything about it. She flatly said "No, we can't make exceptions." This was upsetting... would they just leave the trash out there indefinitely or wait for it to fall onto someone else's shoulders? So rude and unhelpful!
Stumped and bothered I got off the phone to contact my neighbor which needless to say was an uncomfortable request. Luckily my neighbor was beyond kind enough to bag up my trash. I called today to inform the agent (who based on her voice I believe to be the same as the day before), I told her that my neighbor had bagged the trash and that it was now ready for pick up. I also informed her I called the previous day. She then proceeded to tell me that my scheduled pick up days are Monday and Thursday in my old neighborhood (which thanks... I know, I lived there for a year!).
So I explained again that it wasn't picked up the previous day and my neighbor had bagged it so it didn't have to wait 3 days. She said it would have to wait til Thursday regardless. She wasn't helpful at all and had a snotty tone. I felt like she was annoyed I'd even ask! Between the inability to regularly pick up trash, the rude customer service rep and the inability to be understanding after I moved to a different state, I absolutely rate this company 1 star!

I recently moved to the country and had trouble finding a trash service. I called Republic Services and left a message that I needed a quote for their service. A week later I received an email that said the charge would be $27.42 monthly for a once a week service. I then called them and told them I would like to set up a new account. During the call, I was never told that there would be additional fees charged each month. It took 2 weeks to receive the toter that they insist you use.
The 1st month's bill was over $50.00 but since I didn't receive an invoice, I had no idea what I was being charged for. I paid it because I figured there would be extra fees the 1st month and I didn't worry about it. The 2nd month's bill was $44.00. I called to find out why they had extra charges on my bill and that no one informed me that I would receive these extra fees. The next day I called to cancel service and thought that would be the end of it, but it wasn't. 1 week later, I had a message on my phone from a supervisor stating they would like to offer me a lower monthly rate to offset some of the extra fees. I called them and asked what lower rate amount they would like to offer and she said $22.00 a month rather than $27.42. So, they wanted to offer me $5.42 savings??? I said that doesn't seem to be much of a savings to me and that I would just rather stick to my cancellation from July 1st.
By this time, it was already July 14th. She said she would cancel the service and I said, the service was already cancelled July 1st and she said, "No your account is open and active and that the last bill will be for half of the month of July. I said, "NO!!! I cancelled 2 weeks ago!" So then she said, "Ok, we will not charge you for July but we do have to charge you $35.00 to pick up the toter we delivered to you!" Why should I have to pay for the toter that they wanted me to use? I could have just used the trash cans that I already own! I put the toter out for them to pick up on July 21st. I received a letter from them that said they came by to pick up the toter and it wasn't available for them to pick up and that they would charge me $75.00 if it wasn't picked up or brought to them by July 29th.
I called and spoke to customer service and they said they put it back through for them to pick up and that I shouldn't be charged. On July 29th, I called again to be sure that this was all taken care of and that I would not be charged $75.00 and customer service acted like this is the 1st they have heard of it! She told me the pickup was scheduled for August 3rd and that there would be no charge. I am not sure that this is over yet. We will see. I would not recommend using this company if you have a choice. The customer service is unacceptable in my opinion.

When I opened my business in 2010, I was required to switch my residential account with Republic Services to a commercial account. In 2010, this company had all their containers and the rates associated with them available online and it was easy to determine what size dumpster I would need and how many days a week I would need pick-up service. After careful consideration of the options available, I chose a 4 yard dumpster container, along with pick-up service 2 days a week, for a quarterly-billed amount of $600 + a nominal container charge. I had to call customer service to formally execute the contract. (This service is no longer available online. You have to call them for assistance.)
For 6 years Republic Services, with the exception of a few missed pick-ups, regularly emptied my dumpster 2 days a week...until a few weeks ago when I noticed that it was only being picked up once a week. I called customer service to report a missed pick-up day. The CS rep said they would send a truck out that day to empty the container, which they did. The next week the container was only emptied once. I called CS again to report another missed pick-up. This time I was informed that I was only scheduled for one pick-up a week.
I told the rep that wasn't correct, I had signed up for 2 pick-ups a week in 2010 and they had picked up 2 days a week for 6 years. That's when, "the trash hit the fan", so to speak and the CS rep started to get a little annoyed. She told me that even though I had requested service once a week, sometimes their drivers would pick up containers more often, if they were in the area, so I was actually lucky that this had been happening for so many years. After hanging up, I figured I had better check into the matter further.
Later that day, (Friday June 17th) I went online to the Republic Service website to review my account and was surprised to find that this company literally makes NO information available to their customers, other than the customer's name, service address, any past due amounts owed, the current amount due and a payment history that only shows the last quarterly payment. You have to call them for "assistance" if you want any other info regarding your account, or anything else. It wasn't possible for me to review what services I had previously, when/why/how those services were modified, or who it was that actually modified/updated/made changes to my account. If I wanted to know more, I had to either fill out a request form and state my issue, or call and speak to an account representative. I filled out the online form, stated my problem and hit send.
Monday morning, (June 20th) a Republic Services account rep called to inform me that she had thoroughly reviewed my account and investigated my issue. I was once again informed that their records indicated that I had only requested pick-up once a week and the amount I was being charged was consistent with that. I told the rep that their records were wrong, because before I switched my residential service to their commercial service in 2010, I had spent a considerable amount of time comparing what they had to offer with what I could afford. Because of that I distinctly remembered ordering the 4 yard container and 2 pick-up days a week, as I knew that one day a week would not have been adequate for my needs. The rep asked if I had a copy of that agreement and I said, "No, it was all done over the phone and a hard copy was never made available to me."
After a long pause, (so long that I thought the call had actually been disconnected) she sighed and said she'd have to ask customer service if they had the initial agreement. (How this woman, "... thoroughly investigated my account..." without referring to that document is beyond me.) I told her that would need to be done in order to move this issue forward. She sighed heavily again, then haughtily replied that she'd contact CS to see if they had a copy of the agreement and then get back to me.
That was 2 days ago and I really don't expect to hear back from them. It's standard procedure for them to claim the agreement says 1 day a week, or say they have no agreement on file. They are aware that this will leave me unable to prove otherwise. Apparently, they don't have to provide customers with hardcopy of the agreements, or make details of accounts available online for customers to examine when problems arise. This company knows the only remedy customers have is to take them to court, which costs more money than the average customer can spare. If a customer does manage to get them into court and wins, it's well documented that Republic Services retaliates by placing liens on homes for non-payment, whether it's true or not. They get away with this over and over again!
This company has been allowed to run rampant for FAR TOO LONG! The issues I've had and those I've heard from other Las Vegas residents indicate that local management does whatever they can get away with in order to squeeze more money out of us, including physically altering contracts and changing the terms in agreements. This company has a government contract in Las Vegas, so they are a monopoly and are accountable to no one...a fact they use to their advantage with impunity!

I am very disappointed with the type of customer service that I received from this company. I called to question about the extra charge on my bill for a "call back" service because it did not get pick up by the driver on service day when the compost bin was out on the curb the night before. I did not appreciate the accusatory tone that I got from Terra, the service representative, that we did not put the bin out by 6 am. Even when she told me that the charge can be removed based a dispute, she still insisted that we were at fault. The unprofessionalism displayed by your service representative was really uncalled for. I called to complain about her the following week, and I got the same type of treatment from the supervisor, Angela.
Just because this company is the only company that service my area, I do not think anyone should be treated like unfairly and unjustly. 3 weeks from the incident of extra charge, I got another missed collection, and again I had my bins out the day before. I truly believed that they have an on-going issue, but is afraid to address it.

Republic Services bought our former trash company where we were We are Pay As You Throw customers, meaning that we pay in advance for stickers to attach to each trash bag when we put them out for collection. Republic's introductory letter assured us that they would continue the Pay As You Throw program as run by our previous company.
The deal was to include every other week recycling pick up at no extra charge. Instead, we were billed what amounted to an additional charge of $14.50 per recycling pick up. We were also billed an additional $30 for delivery of a recycling container. That fee was undisclosed both in their advertising and by their representative at the time we ordered the container. We also are being billed another $30 fee for pick up of a recycling container that we didn't have for a pick up that never occurred.
I have made 3 lengthy phone calls to resolve the bills. According to the Pay As You Throw plan, we owe nothing. I am assured each time that the fees have been waived since they were undisclosed and that the charges for pickup have been removed. What I get instead are suspension notices and letters threatening to send the "unpaid" bill to a collection agency, which would negatively impact our credit.
Today I received yet another suspension notice in the mail for our "unpaid" bill. I will have to waste yet another 30 minutes of my life on the phone in an attempt to resolve the issue. Enough already. I will take my business elsewhere. DO NOT do business with this company! They are less than ethical and completely unable or unwilling to resolve the most basic of problems.

They miss pickups and change your date of pickup with no warning leaving trash sit on the curb until they get it. They inflate the prices with no warning. They refuse to respond when you file a complaint. I filed two complaints with the BBB on this company, somehow with so many complaints against them they still manage to have an A-plus rating with the BBB which is just ridiculous. If the BBB would actually look out for the consumer instead of the company it would save a lot of people a lot of trouble. Most people don't look past the rating to see the large amount of negative reviews on the company. There is honestly nothing good to say about Republic Services. They constantly do not pick up our trash. They do not pick up trash if it is a light drizzle. They sometimes only pick up the county trash bin and leave our personal trash bins full. I have requested twice now that bulk items be picked up. The first time they told me they couldn't pick up the small wood table I was throwing out until I called back to complain. The second time I scheduled for a small couch to be picked up and they never showed up! The worst part is they only pick up bulk items one day a week and the day all depends on where you live. Ours is Mondays so old couch literally sat in the Florida heat and unpredictable rain for two weeks!
The neighboring county I use to live in had a wonderful trash service. I honestly just want to cancel Republic Services and start delivering my trash to the dump myself. At least it would actually get there. It is the drivers I have the biggest issues with. Just being lazy! If you can't do your job right then go somewhere else. I called and complained and they dropped it back down. Now they have added a "container refresh" fee. That is where they charge you $9/month and will come out once a year to swap out your container. Since the normal charge of swapping a container was $85 this seems like a bad deal. I am about to go to battle with them over this. I wish there was another company in my area that I could deal with. Filing complaints with the city and Republic's site has not resulted in one return call or email response.
I live at the end of a dead end street with very little turn around area. Most large trucks back down so they don't have a problem turning around. This hasn't been a problem until Republic took over our service. I have a manicured lawn with an in-ground sprinkler system. The driver continues to back up into my yard, at least 15 feet and maneuvers back and forth until he gets the truck turned around, but not without cutting huge ruts in my yard, breaking numerous sprinkler heads and lines. When this first started, I confronted the driver and he said he wasn't doing anything wrong and continues to do this every week. My front yard is a disaster, broken sprinkler system and a beat up mailbox.
I called the manager and he came out and first thing he asked, "can you prove our driver did this?" At the time I couldn't prove it other than my word. Republic did nothing, they continue to ignore my complaints and the driver continues to turn around in my yard. I just installed a outdoor video camera and now have 3 videos of him doing this. I plan to have an eye witness outside next week to verify what's happening. I will be filing a lawsuit against the City of Jacksonville and Republic Services. I will follow up with the results.

However the supervisors over the workers did acknowledge that he spoke to their drivers and they did state that they took it and now it's in many pieces. I told the supervisor that I want my grill back or replace it. He stated that he will have call me back himself later that afternoon.
Lo and behold I get a phone call back but it was from the customer service supervisor. We spoke about what happen and how could they fix this, well I stated that all I want was my grill back or replace it. He suggested that he could credit my 1st bill. I stated that it was not an option no way. I stated that anyone as well as himself would feel the same way. He tried to push it back on me trying to make it my fault, no way. He then stated that he will have to talk it over with the other supervisors and will call me back within 24 hours. Well guess what? I'm still waiting on that call. All I want is my grill replaced. This is not my fault. You cannot go on people's property and just trash what you "THINK" is trash. I want to go to the top with complaint, it's the principle behind this. Do anyone have any suggestions on how to get to the corporate on my situation?

This company is the worst company that I've ever had to deal w/ as a business owner. I have to constantly police my garbage & recycling being picked up. Most weeks only 1 is picked up. Sometimes I call & they say the driver said they picked up when they didn't or they say the driver noted a problem but if that's the case why is the other service done? I still get charged for services whether they pick up or not. They always leave the gates open & have damaged the company van because of it.
When I call about issues they argue w/ me or plain lie about the service. If I'm late paying my bill I get a late fee & service interruptions & more fees that they won't take off my bill. Their rates are higher than most & this is why they insist on locking you in a 3 year contract & nothing less. Interestingly I'm in a 3 year contract & can't break service but they raised the rates because of a "clause" in the contract. Just a little bit of a one sided contract. Needless to say I will be cancelling my service. I would never recommend this trash service to ANYONE. Republic Services sucks!

Republic Services company is the perfect example of the hatred of Monopoly. Been the only trash removal service in Las Vegas (maybe in other cities too), people have no choice but to use them. Unreasonable charges and extremely bad customer services. There is absolutely no negotiation with them, either you pay them or they stop your service. Wish there are other similar services to switch from!!!

There needs to be a systematic firing from the top on down at this place. I've never seen a company so mismanaged as this one is in Las Vegas. The only excuse for service this bad is the apathy that comes with a company that's connected to a government contract. Time to attach a performance clause to these freeloaders.

I am a Property Manager and we currently inherited their service because they are the only option the City allows us to use. Their people are seriously unqualified to figure or read accounts, they apply your payments to incorrect accounts numbers and then send you interruption notices. I have been trying to have someone accurately apply our payments and it's been over a month and they are still incorrect. Do not use them - worst trash removal service I have ever dealt with in my 15 years in the business!

Trash pickup service was fine, but customer service is a joke. Good luck trying to cancel your contract. Contracts auto renew, customer service cannot cancel over the phone, must be done by reps that never call you back. Finally had to send by certified mail!! Do your company a favor and go with a different company and avoid the headache!

I signed a contract with Republic in September 2008, and their service began. It is a 36 month contract which automatically renews for periods of 36 months. They frequently miss pickups, and when we call they charge for an unscheduled pickup at 140% of the monthly rate -- this is for a pickup which they missed. Now I call to give notice that I am not renewing, and they claim my contract did not start until March 2015 and they say it renewed until 2018. There is no date on the contract, and they never sent me a copy which they signed, but I have the fax confirmation and their service began in 2008. This is the most Unscrupulous business I have come across in many years.

I've tried to cancel their service due their poor customer service. It is very difficult to speak or get a reply from their account manager. Customer service will not put you through to a supervisor. To cancel services to my 3 buildings I was advised that I could only do so by certified mail.

This is the reason that people feel the government is corrupt. Because Republic Services has a contract with Clark County that gives them a monopoly, They are required to give no customer service and attempt to make charges whenever possible. They do as little communication as possible to trap you into charges because they know you are no recourse. When you attempt to talk to them, and explain maybe they would prefer not to have awful reviews and upset customers. They say we are a utility so we shouldn't have competition. Anyone that would allow open competition or a chance for other companies to provide better service would get my vote. Zero advertisement budget (because everyone is forced). Zero customer service hires (because what are you going to do.) Zero intelligent management (because why pay someone smart when dumb work for cheaper).

Let me say that Republic Service is the worst!!! They bought up all the old good companies and made them poor. For the last 4 months I have to call for a pick up and receive a story every week. That's after 15 years of dealings. This is what gets me, I get home last week and find my cable wire torn out of the side of my home, damaging siding pulling out the side of the house. I tried to find out how it happened and no luck. Guess what. I called today as usual for my pickup which is on Monday and I was told they would not pick up because of the wire situation last week.. Aha I found out who DID it and I have that in my email. Thank you very much for the info. You would think they could have called me and let me know they DID the damage but I guess not. When I found out they damaged my home I quit the service right there and am pursuing options... Do not use republic. They are the worst!!!

In 2015, Republic took over service from Varner's. During the winter month's, they would not pick up our trash stating their trucks cannot travel our roads. They offered a credit to our account. I called them several times getting nowhere with the credit they offered. Then around towards the end of the year, I told them they were not getting any more money until they credited our account. They were then clueless of that offer. They ended up just cancelling our account. Their customer service is rude. I called them today and they told me that they cannot accept our container (which is exactly like theirs) and we have to rent one from them.
