We got the water purification system and air purifier from RainSoft, and there has been a difference since having the system installed. The sales rep was knowledgeable, courteous, and easy to work with and the installation team was excellent.

The RainSoft system is good so far but they haven't done their follow up visit yet. They were supposed to come back and follow up and test our water.

When the rep from RainSoft came to our home, he talked a lot. He said it would only take 45 minutes but he was there for two and a half hours - it could've been a little bit shorter. We bought the three products and the biggest difference I noticed was the skin. My son has severe skin issue and it has become better after the installation.

The sales reps were very pleasant but I had a problem with the installation. After the installer left I opened the cabinet of the sink and he had squished the tank and the filtration system behind the garbage disposal. That doesn't seem very good. So I called the salespeople to tell them that it's ridiculous because when after I had read the manual it says that the canister should be on the left side of the sink and the tank should be on the right side.
Salespeople came out because they knew the problem that I was having and then said when a person comes out and does the re-installation he would have to turn the tank around to show the RainSoft logo on it. That's because one of them noticed the tank didn’t have a RainSoft logo on it. So a guy came out to re-install. He turned the tank around to show me that there was no RainSoft logo on it. It was at that time I noticed that the tank was so filthy. It looked like it was at least 2 years old, that’s how dirty it was. I also noticed a little sticker on the tank that said it was made in 2014. So maybe they gave me an old tank.
After a few hassles and getting Home Depot involved, Home Depot sent a manager out who gave me a new tank (new tank was dated 2015). They retested the water and it’s been okay since. Because of the trouble that I went to, they told me that they would give me another Home Depot gift card. However I still haven’t received it.

A friend of mine had RainSoft come over for the consultation and we bought the conditioning system and the fresh drinking water. The installers were fine and they let me know where they were going to run all the pipes. Since having it, water tastes better and the clothes seem cleaner.

We have the whole house water softener and purifier from RainSoft. The sales representative was great, friendly, knowledgeable, and the demonstrations were helpful. The installation team were thorough and they talked me through everything they were doing and checked in with me regularly. They were nice and friendly as well. When I recently stayed in a hotel I really miss the RainSoft water.

The RainSoft people used a sinkhole where the hose goes down in the ground. I hope that the black hose from the tube with all the chemicals would be okay. But when they dug about one foot away from the black hose in the ground, the ground collapsed about a quarter of a feet. So far that's my only concern but if it has collapses and becomes a big hole, I will call them and say something is not right.
Anyway, they promised that since the unit was $6,200, they would get us a sink purifier, but it never arrived. When I talked to the service manager and told him about the black hose cracking, he said he would send someone out to do it. I gave him a telephone number so he could call before he came but he didn't. He just came and did it and left again, so the sink unit has never been given to us. I don't worry about it now but I'm disappointed.
The softener system is good and I like it so far. Also the person who sold it to me was extremely good because even though we had no intention to buy a softener system, he was just here and in an hour, I just gave him a check for $6,200 because I believed what he was saying. The installer it was also extremely nice. And the service manager who called later on when I told him of my two problems was also very nice, and he followed through by sending a guy out to correct it outside so now it's working perfectly. I love the Rainsoft system.

We have Rainsoft in our kitchen area and it works great. My wife had it before I had it. I moved before I married her and we just continued it because it's been a good product. We had service people come in to service it over the years and it's been fine. Therefore I would recommend them.

We sent in water sample for analysis. They said that we had some problems with our water which we already knew about. But when their reps came to our home and did a demonstration of the kitchen water, it was actually worse than we thought. So we talked about putting in a system, which we agreed upon. They came a couple of days later, hooked up the system without any problems and we've been very satisfied. Everybody was very cooperative and very good.
With the RainSoft system installed, you use a lot less soap and hair shampoo. I have a young daughter who comes to the house. She's out of the house and when she came in, she noticed the softness of the water right away.

I'm satisfied with the water the RainSoft system creates. It worked best for me. I just thought that the presentation was a little too long but it was very detailed and informative. We also had an issue during installation because the guy had to drain to the dishwasher area. I did not know all the details of that and it was filling up my dishwasher. I called RainSoft about the issue and they sent another gentleman out to fix it on my schedule. I think the price for the system is a little high but since I had it, I noticed my drinking water is fantastic so I would definitely recommend them.

We signed up for RainSoft's water test so they came to our home to show us the quality of our existing water and how it could be different with their system. After that, we purchased the $8,000 value package wherein we got the water softener outside and the alkaline water inside. My wife seemed to be pleased with the installation team when they did the work. Since having the system installed, the water is definitely softer and leave your hands feeling a lot softer.

They contacted me after I sent in a water sample from my house. Their laboratory technicians came here and set up their mini lab at the kitchen sink. They were real professional, did their testing and explained what they were doing, the results, what the results meant, and the different ways that I could combat the negative effects that were discovered with my water. After that, I ended up purchasing the whole house water filtration system. Their installation team was very good and respectful, and they also explained to me what they were doing and how they were putting the system in. They also talked to me about what I need to do to maintain the system. And I have noticed a difference since having the system installed, thus I would recommend them.

RainSoft sucks! They say that they're gonna come and do the repairs and they never show up. They say they're gonna call me, I waited, and they never called me. They say the salt is gonna last long, like 4 to 6 months... it's less than a half. So I guess they're bunch of liars. The texture of the water did change, but that's the only thing. The guys who did the demonstration and the agreement also did a good job, and I'm happy with that, not with the service. I recommend the water softener, but not RainSoft because their follow-up sucks.

My brother had the RainSoft system for years. When he had the system upgraded, that's when I learned about the product. Our interaction with their people was professional. Everything was good and everyone was friendly but I never got my $50 gift card that they keep promising me. I did call once so the representative guy who came out for quality control said that it will come in the mail. Well that's not what I understood but it never came. So when I filled up my online survey last week, I put that in the comments. Someone called me from the local distributor and said they would send me an email with a link so that I could redeem it, and I never got an email either. But it’s alright. It’s not going to make or break my weekend.
I don't have anything to complain about the system itself. The installation guy was great and we chatted about everything when he came out here. He was just very informative about how we shouldn't use the conditioned water in the pool, so he installed an extra spigot straight from the city line so that I could have the regular city hard water that I could use in my pool and my lawn. That was excellent and very nice of him. So overall, I'm very pleased. I love the water the RainSoft system creates and I love the way it feels.

We researched about water treatment systems because of the hardness of the water. Rainsoft came in and tested our water. Our interaction with the installation team went well and we were discussing the difference as to what can cause the hardness of the water. We land a lot of water systems and we're happy with it now.
Reviewed May 30, 2015
The guys who came out to install it (standard filtration and softener) did a decent job. But they - the installer, sales rep, and the one who did the water test - were definitely misinformed as to how often the system runs in three cycles. They were just telling me, "Oh, well, there's only two people in the house, it probably won't do that." I had concerns about that at first wondering about how much water was going to be used. But after getting my first water bill, it doesn't feel like it really makes much of a difference.
Also, the taste of the water is worse now than it was before. I still don't drink water right out of the tap because I didn't purchase the additional water filter for the main sink. I'm a little bit disappointed in that. That was a bit misleading. I still end up buying bottled water. But other than that, I still like the system. The water is much softer now which is what we were going for, and I'm sure there's nearly no sediments and other similar stuff in my water. I'd still recommend RainSoft. My father bought a system from Rainsoft too and probably possibly even a couple of other people that I recommended them to. But when I recommend them I would fill people in on the things that I was misled by both the person who did the water test and sold me the actual filter and the person who installed it.

Our consultation with Rainsoft was okay, no real issues there. Their installation team was also decent. Their work immediately took out the sulfur smell from the water and we could drink it without worry of bacteria, odor, taste, or color. From day 1, it changed the water instantly, so that was cool. However there was a little bit of a mess of wood chips left when they were done drilling through the floor joist to run the waste line for the bath flushing. They didn't clean those up and the line for the waste line wasn't really secured well enough so that when it would do its bath flushing, it would rat on the floor joist and make a really loud noise upstairs. They also drilled through the metal sink where they installed the water spicket for the drinking water but they didn't clean up the metal shavings either. So I called Anderson Water Systems to sort that all out. But after that, I've had no more issues and I actually recommended them to somebody just the other day.

Setting up consultation with sales representative was quick, easy, and they worked around my schedule smoothly. The information that he gave me about my water and just Rainsoft in general was great. I got the reverse osmosis tank and then the two bigger tanks. Installation took a little longer than expected but installation team kept on updating me on what was going on. Since having the system installed got better tasting water and showers are quicker because the water is coming out clear. I really have enjoyed it.

It was really easy setting up a consultation with the sales representative of Rainsoft. I was able to do it on the weekend and was able to have a late appointment. So, it went well. I purchased an older model because it's one without the part that alerts you inside the house so I would have to actually go in the garage and see if something was wrong, the one that tells you the time. But I have the separate carbon one and the one that takes out the chemicals and then the one that actually softens the water. It was fantastic!

Been a customer of Rainsoft for 23 years or so and it's been pretty good. Satisfied and pleased with the whole experience. Installation team are absolutely top notch. We've added and subtracted different things over the years. We started with their standard Rainsoft water softening system, and then added Reverse osmosis. We later removed the reverse osmosis when we went to a whole house filter system. It's gone back and forth like that. Three months ago or so, we added the Ozonator for washing products. There are certain companies that stand out as being exceptional by far and you don't always know why. I wouldn't quite put Rainsoft at that level, but they've been excellent.

The installation team from RainSoft were very good and answered a lot of my questions that sales rep didn't explain. I appreciated them. We love the water but I'm still confused if it is drinking reverse osmosis or not. When they first put it in, we had a bathroom at the very back of the house that the water barely came out of and now, we have full stream. We didn't know we had one before the good, nice, clean water cleaned out the pipe which is really cool.

I got the RainSoft softener and the reverse osmosis drinking system. The installation guy knew what he was doing and was very, very quick. But the only issue that I had and I still have is when the salesman told me they were gonna install it outside but the guy that came and installed it says, "No, that won't work. We just run in a hose underneath your house and it drains away." And I said, "Not under my house. You're not draining it underneath my house to collect the water and even those drain goodness sandy soil." He says, "Okay. Well, I'll put it out here then," and threw the thing out underneath the brush next to the fence line. So they never bury the drain line like I was told would happen. The system seems to work fine but they're gonna come this summer and replace that fence line and run into this drain that was just lying there on the ground.

We knew when we moved in the house 19 years ago that our water was extremely hard and full of minerals, silts, and all kind of crap so we called RainSoft. The last call around was probably the best experience I ever had with them. It is excellent installation. I got a new unit because the old unit was totally shot. The installer explained everything to me, how much the water was going to improve from the old way and that the water will be so clean. The system will actually act as a cleaning agent and all the pipes will clean out. He also added some things that were not done way back when the first unit.

I learned about Rainsoft from the man that installed my gate. I was talking to him about building me a well house so that I could put a water system for my well. Because the last water system I had was 20 something years ago and it was huge, it took up my whole back porch and that's why I wanted to build something outside where I could put it all out there. He advised me to call Rainsoft and that they will come out and tell me what I need. So, we had Rainsoft put the system in. They were good about putting it and explaining everything so now it was working beautifully until our recent experience.
Whenever we go out of town, we always cut our water off just in case a pipe burst. The system backwashes every week so I wanted to find out what I needed to do and I didn't wanna ruin the system by turning my water off. So, I called them and left a message. They called me back the next day and told me to just turn the little lever in the back if I'm going to use my outside faucet so that it doesn't run through my system. She said, "Just turn those and everything will be fine", which is what I did. So, before we left, I turned the water off. And then when we came back home, I turned the water back on. The first thing I did was run some water out to give to my dogs because they didn't have any water to drink. That's when they started to get sick. They were drinking a lot of water and throwing up all over the place. They were both doing it, I didn't know what was going on and I didn't relate it to the water.
Then the next morning, we fixed a pot of coffee and my husband spit it out. He asked if I put a salt on it and I said "no". And then when I poured creamer in mine, the creamer clobbered. There was so much salt in the system that we could not use the water. We had to go to the store and buy bottled water. So, I called them twice about the problem to find out what I needed to do in order to get that salt out of my system and then what to do to keep that from happening again. I called customer service and sales. They don't ever answer their phone so we always just leave a message and then they'll return the call. But they've not returned my calls so, I'm angry because they're not returning my calls.

It didn't take us long to get someone down here and the guy we had was very informative. We purchased the whole works for our drinking water, purifier and everything. We didn't have any problem with any of them. They all did a great job. Before we got RainSoft, all my Corelle dishes was turning brown. I had film on all my silverware. I had all my water coming out of my other unit more rusty, wasn't able to drink the water, and turned all my white towels brown. RainSoft has taken all the spots off all my dishes, off my silverware. It feels like you've got cream on your hands or body when you get out of the shower. We use half the amount of soap that we normally use. My kitchen sink doesn't get stained anymore. I could go on and on, we really love it. If I had realized it was that easy to do something like that, we'd have done it twenty years ago. I'm not saying it's cheap, it's expensive by all means. Other than that, we're more than very happy with it.

A number of years ago in Birmingham, Alabama, my wife and I were at a home and garden show, and we were becoming really concerned about water quality. With all the bad news about fertilizer run-off and pharmaceuticals in the water, it was a real concern for us. We were about to be married s we were just shopping around. We went by the RainSoft booth and we saw the unit, and we talked with one of the reps who made a real good impression on me. By the time that we're married, we arranged for one of the field techs to come and do a test on the water on our house. It's typical Alabama water and it was pretty hard so we had the unit installed. It was actually a little bit larger but it seemed to do a real good job for us so we were pretty pleased with it.
When we sold our house in Birmingham, I chose to part with the RainSoft unit and leave it in the house, right there on location, because I was trying to think of a way to make the house more appealing and more sellable, so I gave up the system and it helped us move the house. Then we came up here to St. Louis, Missouri and we live in the St. Charles area in St. Charles county, and I wanted another RainSoft system. So we had a field tech come out from Tri-State Water here in Missouri, a lady, and she did a real good job. And I was horrified at how hard our water was, our water may as well have been liquid rock.
So we made arrangements to have the unit installed, and they did a very good and professional job. They were very thorough and neat. I liked the fact that they cleaned up after themselves and were very careful to make sure that the installation even looked nice, I was really impressed with that. This was the first time that I've been exposed to potassium chloride as a salt substitute. As it was explained to me by the installation technician that Tri-State prefers to use potassium chloride because it's more green and environmentally friendly, and it doesn't rot pipes as bad. So that's the reason that Tri-State uses potassium chloride.
Now he did explain to me upfront, that it's about three times the price of regular salt." So he said, "Get ready for sticker shock." But the thing I've noticed is that the system I have here uses so little salt, we haven't even gotten down to the bottom of the salt bin yet. And I'm a little concerned that I won't remember to recharge the salt bin. But anyway, I hope I've got the alarm turned up loud enough where I can hear it from my basement. To make a long story short, we're very pleased and impressed with the unit. We really believe that the product does a good job.

We just had a consultation by ** from Quality Home Products of Texas. We were informed by Home Depot that we could receive a water test that would last 30 minutes. We have our family in town that we don't get to see very often, and we're a bit hesitant, but decided we wanted to know the quality of our water. We had plans for the night, and the water test alone took over 30 minutes. Everything was done very leisurely and slowly, and we were trying to move things along so we could get back to our family. Then she started a slide show, after another 30 minutes went by, my husband asked if we could get to the pricing, to finish up. She ignored him and continued through each slide. I asked if the slide show was available online, and she rudely said "No." And went back to her slides. If my parents weren't here, I would have told her to leave after that.
She also asked if we could fill out a very long sheet with each product we use, and how much it costs us each much. My husband politely said he was very interested in the product, but again we need to speed up this meeting, and would rather not fill out the sheet. She ignored that too, and went through each product and asked us how much we spent. When we tried to explain we couldn't buy the product today, and we would like to do more research, she ignored that also and kept talking. She ended with snatching a paper I was looking at out of my hands and putting it in her briefcase. As she was leaving, she said to my father, again extremely rudely, "Nice to meet you, even though I DIDN'T meet you". I was horrified and embarrassed. Told us a lot of benefits and how much we can save from our water expenses by using their product. He insisted that home Depot finances everything and we only have to pay a Flat rate of 159$. Guess what? After 20 days, I received a letter telling I will be paying 179$ an extra 20$ because their financing company Aqua Finance financed the amount.
I called Home Depot and the Managers name that was in our document. I told her that that was not the agreement we and the salesman spoke. I just didn’t like the free products that they give.

RainSoft is the second system that we've had. Our experience with them is really good. The guy who installed it was very competent and explained what he was doing. The installation took a little longer than expected but it went very well. I understood everything and how to use it, even though this system is different than the one we had before. I would recommend them 100%.

Quality of our water has definitely improved since using Rainsoft. We got from them the reverse osmosis and the water filtration unit for the big dog. People from their Sales were professional. They came to the house, were clean cut, normal, and educated in the product. The same goes for their installation team and they were on-time too.
I think their margins are a little bit bold though, meaning I really feel sorry for the consumer that doesn’t educate themselves going in to the process. They start out at $8,000 and I bought mine for $3,000. But if that's their business model, that's fine by me. I evaluate companies for a living, so I wasn’t intimidated by it. They did not come off intimidating but they have to make money so that’s fine. And in the end I think I'm fine with the whole experience I've had with Rainsoft.

I first heard about RainSoft through one of their representatives in Home Depot. She was there with a tablet and we asked about water softeners since I’d been planning to check into one. The sales representative who came into my home was very good and personable; he answered our questions. We then purchased the softener and filter. We had a very satisfactory experience with the installation guy. He knew what he was doing, gave us all the information and explained the warranties. Our water was really hard but after the system was installed, we appreciate having soft water again. I would recommend them.

We purchased the whole house filtration system that's worth $65000 from RainSoft. Since we had it installed there's a difference in the taste of water and we don't get mineral buildup on the toilet bowl and shower heads. The sales representatives and installation team were also very nice. I would recommend them.

I called RainSoft to test the water. During the first appointment, one man didn't show up and I was upset because I wasted my day. I had to call them and when they came, they explained nicely about the water - what it has, the environment and what they know. Nothing wrong with the installation. Now we have a good drinking water and we don't have to buy anymore. It's better compared when we had the hard water. I told my brother-in-law who is in LA about this and he is interested.

The installation team was good. The guy showed me everything I needed to know, and answered all my questions... even the questions of my young daughter. Since the RainSoft was installed, I have noticed that our dishes and skin are cleaner, and we are using less soap. Some of the buildup has started to go away. Everything that we were supposed to see, we have seen. It's better than expected. Everything was awesome.

Setting up a consultation with the sales representative was great and they were courteous and knowledgeable. I eventually purchased the RainSoft water conditioning system. When the installation team came, he showed me everything he was doing when he was putting it together and asked me if I had questions. After the installation, the water tasted better and the ice was awesome. When you take a bath, the water keeps your skin smooth. It’s great and we love it!

During our consultation with the sales representative, he explained the whole thing and then he tested our water and told us what was all involved so we decided to buy the RainSoft water purification system. Everything went pretty smoothly. Since having the system installed, I can tell it's a lot different water because of the way it feels when you take a shower or wash your hands. That real soapy feeling that I didn't know that it's what the pure water was supposed to feel like.

RainSoft sales representative knew his product really well. The presentation was informative. I purchased the water conditioning system for the home. Never had a problem with the installation team. He knew exactly what he was doing. The system is a very good product. Since installation, my coffee tastes better, but there are still problems like the rings that you get in the toilet bowl and lines. You still get that in the commodes. But, I would still recommend them to others.

The Rainsoft sales representative was very professional and knew his stuff. The installation team was as good as the sales rep because they were very efficient and did what they needed to do. They were confident and they explained things we needed to know so we were pleased. Since then, the water is softer. We put a filter in and we don't get the residue with the tea or the coffee either.

The sales representative of RainSoft was a nice guy. He went over everything with me. Everything was cool. It was swell. So I purchased a water softener system from them. I wasn't here when the installer came but he walked my son through everything. They did an awesome job. They needed to finish it, to come back, and this is quality service, quality water service. They came back and went through everything again, just checking. Everything was good.
RainSoft's water treatment system was great. Everything was handled and done on time. What they said they were going to do, they did it. And every time they say it, somebody would be there at a certain time and it was taken care of. Then they went in detail through everything about the machine, of how this and that worked, and it was an awesome experience.

We purchased the water treatment system from RainSoft. The installer was great when he did the work. I was looking over his shoulder to learn how it was going so they’ve been informative. We've got a little bit of trouble with the follow-up on a program that they've described where we would see some soap, detergent and stuff, and we had a hard time getting that set up. After RainSoft installed the system, the result was great and we love it.

The RainSoft sales reps who came went through a brief history of the company and then the water test towards the findings in the statistic. I purchased the conditioning system with the built in computer and they installed the equipment in the garage, right beside the main water feed. As a result, the water is clearer and tastes better. It also feels better because of the impurities that have been removed... better lather when washing hands and hair.

My water was staining my shower curtains and drains with all the color so I thought of contacting RainSoft. The consultation was very good and useful. The person was knowledgeable and in his presentation he showed test bottles and getting the system was a good idea. The sales rep was very positive and professional. My fiancee was out of town so he waited until she came back and he came back and talked to us again with her there. The installation team was friendly and professional, and did a good job of running the plates and hoses, and cleaned up afterwards. The place was as clean as it was when they came in. Since having the system installed, I've noticed the soap starts to dissolve better. I feel cleaner after getting out of the shower and we don't have the staining anymore of the shower curtains and drains. And the water just tastes better.

Last year, a gentleman came out and showed me how contaminated the water is, all the way from the city but according to the report I get from the water company, the water was not contaminated, it was clean, safe to drink. I found out it was not. There was a gentleman who came out and said it would cost me $5,000 for the unit. Since I had experience with RainSoft before, I thought to myself, I'll call them and I got it for only about $2,000 which is way, way different price wise. Eerything is working fine. Rainsoft came out yesterday to service the tank and pt some salt in. I have no complaints and I'm very happy.
