When repainting my house internally, we chose BEHR Marquee as our option. With this paint we didn't have to do a separated primer coat nor a second coat of paint. Overall the paint was AWESOME!

Hello, about 6 years ago we bought BEHR Stain from Home Depot here in Canada for our large deck. While the stain on the walls and sides aged very well, within 2 years the stain on the deck floor started peeling. We thought we'd applied it correctly, but we definitely needed to re-stain it since it was now almost 6 years later.
The salesperson at Home Depot recommended that we contact BEHR to tell them of our experience to see if they might help us. Wow are we ever glad we did. They said, "Don't worry, we stand by our products and will be happy to help you out". They sure did!!
They sent a form requesting photos of where the stain came off. I didn't even have my original receipt. I told them I had 2 gallons left over from the original staining and they recommended I don't use it as it was too old.
They took the dimensions of my deck and calculated I'd need 5 gallons. They also said I'd need 2 gallons of a pre treatment. They told me to go to the store and buy the supplies and they would reimburse me, not only for the new stain and cleaning products, but for the 2 GALLONS OF STAIN I DIDNT USE that I originally purchased. Wow!
I am sitting here looking at a check for over $500 that they mailed to me within 2 weeks.I have at my age bought product from 100's of companies. As my house was a new build I dealt with many warranty people for issues after the build.
I can say with certainty I have never, ever had such honourable, kind and efficient customer service in my life. It seems there is always a catch with warranties, but not with BEHR. The new stain looks great and is solid. It won't peel this time. They gave me detailed advice on how to reapply it.
Thank you to BEHR and it is rare to see a company with such integrity. Love your products and I guarantee I will be a life long customer of BEHR.

So I hired someone to paint the exterior of my mobile home and he told me to get Valspar Storm coat. The store did not carry it so I bought Behr Pro e600 semi gloss 100% acrylic in white. My old color is a light cream color and I wanted white. He was confident that it would only take one coat of paint since the White was going over the cream so I only bought three gallons (it is thick paint) After three coats of the Behr it was streaky like watered down paint! No matter how much we touched it up it just wasn’t uniform at all! Took nearly a gallon of the stuff to do 15’ of wall and hours of wasted time. It was $36.00 a gallon. Took it back to the store for a refund. Went and bought Valspar Storm coat and it covered beautifully in one coat at $26.00 a gallon. Never again Behr!

The pouring spout is impossible to open. Home Depot shook the can, paint dried and now it won't open even with lock grip pliers. I cut away the dried paint, no help. The can lid is too small for pouring lids sold in stores. Big disappointment. Luckily I only bought one can and I will switch to another brand with a normal lid.

So the Behr Premium and Ultra are fitted with their new “eco-friendly” plastic lids and come with a free Simple Pour spout. During my purchase of a gallon last night at Home Depot, I asked the paint guy what was up with the round fitting in the lid. Only then did he proceed to hand me the free spout, opened the port as a demonstration, and just called it a tool to open the circular port. Upon further inspection of the spout when I got home, I realized it was a spout and just not a tool to open the port. Fair enough. By the morning, I go to open the port with the spout/ tool... No chance. Grab a pipe wrench and try that with a little more leverage; nope. No big deal at this point since I have the red full cover pour spouts that they sell at Home Depot too. Guess what? The new plastic lid on the can is 1/8” larger than a standard paint can and it doesn’t fit.
Now I go with the yellow rubber paint can lip that wedges into the rim of a standard can; that doesn’t work either since the rim has been completely redesigned. At this point I’m wondering what the solution will be for a $41 gallon of paint is going to be. Back to Home Depot to discuss with the manager. Of course she seems bewildered at my claims and can’t open the port for the free spout. Next she opens the can and tries the red can spout and it doesn’t work. Lastly she tries the yellow rubber lip and it doesn’t work either. Her solution is to give me a free 2-gallon plastic pale with lid so I can dump the whole gallon into and go from there. Time to start painting.
I start painting my house. The wall face has been completely primed with Zinsser (way better than Kilz by the way) and is completely shaded on a beautiful 70 degree day here in Cleveland. Paint looks great actually, but about 100sf in on the project and my brand new Purdy brush is clumped badly and is starting to embed little period paint turds into the finish. Per the directions I go to clean the brush with soap and water and I’m battling it to get the paint and turds out of the bristles. After about 15 minutes, the brush is acceptable. I go to start round two of my battle and wouldn’t you know, the paint in the sealed 2-gallon container has skinned over.
I decide to call Behr customer service. After a polite conversation where they pretend I’m the first person to ever voice this complaint about the stupid Simple Spout, they offer me 2 free gallons. I almost bite on the $82 offer but decline. I’m cutting my loses and going back to Home Depot for my refund and a self promise never to buy Behr again. Three trips to Home Depot, a wasted day of painting, and 100sf of paint do-over is enough to make the most reasonable person a bit frustrated.

My wife and I painted my house with Behr Ultra, satin exterior paint and it has been the worst nightmare of our lives. I have never been so disappointed with the business practices of a company before now. We painted this house 10 yrs ago with Valspar paint 5 gallons of pale yellow paint and it covered with one coat and it looked great. We recently had to paint it again only because we replaced some of the exterior wood. Old Valspar paint Still looked good. Went to Consumer Reports and they ranked Behr Ultra #1 so that’s what we used. Bad mistake. After 4 coats and 16 gallons of paint it looks good till it dries. Then it becomes real spotty looking.
Contacted Behr and Sent everything they asked for, pictures, bar code numbers, pictures of the 5 gallon cans, etc. Waited and waited for Answers. Finally After more than A Month and Me Calling them every other day they came back And Said it was our Fault because we picked too Dark of a color. But that after they analyzed the Paint they were sure one More coat would do and that they would reimburse me for the paint. I Didn’t take the money and am Now planning to take further action.

Ordered paint 4/11, informed at check out delivery would be 4/22 (In-store) for one color and other color 4/30 (At Home). Thought at the time of ordering this was a long time to wait for paint, but figured at the time it was due to COVID which makes sense. After 4/22 date was missed, called to check status of order. Home Depot said pending vendor delivery. So I called Behr who said there will be another 10-14 day delay in addition to the original delivery date. No communication was provided by Behr regarding this at the time of ordering and communication of delay was sent via email days after I called Behr to check on delayed status. Called again today to check on status, now saying 10-16 day delay which now has me concerned delivery will be extended beyond that.
Cannot cancel my order, states they will not charge me for order until items are delivered but they have not even processed my order yet. Poor Home Depot employees have no idea what is going on, just that vendor is preparing to ship. Overall, poor communication from Behr. I recognize this is a pandemic and delivery will be delayed but better communication should occur. Ultimately going with SW for my paint they are able to have my order ready in 10-15 minutes of me calling. Once Behr finally delivers I will be charged and hopefully have no issues returning paint to Home Depot at the time.

I my deck is in horrible condition due to this product and I urge anyone not to purchase their products. I just repainted my pool rails this past summer and it's peeling also. I am beginning to think all Behr products are expensive crap! I feel like they should stand behind their products. Now my deck is pretty much ruined. Fist off I have used and recommended Behr paints exclusively for decades. I have painted every room in my own homes with Behr and when I was contracting I painted 100's of homes using only Behr paint. When I didn't paint the job I would recommend Behr paint without hesitation to all of my customers. I've recently begun painting my current home and have had success with Behr paint until yesterday 9/14/19. I had painted 3 rooms and found the paint I purchased at the North Fayette Pa store to be the high quality I have come to expect. It had a thick easy glide application, great coverage and durable coating. I had about 3/4 of a gallon can of the i300 Pro Series ceiling paint left over from painting a kitchen, dining room and 2 bedroom ceilings. This was the 3rd gallon I had bought.
Since I'm 60 years old and have had back and shoulder surgeries, I only buy a gallon at a time because I don't know when my body is going to let me paint anymore. Each new gallon was mixed and matched the previous ones perfectly. Sadly yesterday was not the same, not only did the color not match when dried but the paint was thin and watery. I returned to the store today 9/15/19 to register my complaints - 1. I was thoroughly disappointed in the match and quality of the paint and 2. I was thoroughly pissed that I had to repaint my ceiling on a Sunday that I had planned to go fishing with my son. They told me it was unlikely they could match the original color for some reason I don't understand. So they mixed me some paint and I expected to have to repaint the entire ceiling. What I didn't expect was the poor quality of the paint they gave me. Calling it paint is being generous, it was more of a whitewash.
The coverage was dreadful, it streaked and matched nothing. Also this paint was so thin it spattered everywhere. Think of loading your brush with milk and trying to be neat. I covered everything, abandoned the roller after one pass and used only a brush, and I'm a neat painter, still I have speckles on windows, HVAC covers, switch covers, walls...everywhere. If you use this liquid, order a pallet of single edge razor blades and schedule 2-3 vacation days for clean up. I don't know if it was a change in the base or what but Behr has gone from a high quality dependable paint to a tub of toilet water.

DeckOver: Absolute worst coating....ever...In 2016, my back deck (DeckOver applied 2 years prior) was again showing sign of peeling, bare spots, and blisters (loose to the touch, sometimes split/cracked etc). As well, many of the boards showed signs of rotting underneath the coating. After replacing about half the boards, decided to re-apply a new coating of DeckOver. All instructions were followed carefully, sanding down old material, replacing boards as needed, applying out of direct sunlight etc. That was in 2016. By the summer of 2017, the above noted defects started to reappear.
This spring (2019), cracks, blisters and peeling were even more pronounced. Two weeks ago while sitting on a chair on the deck, a chair leg went through a board (rotted from underneath). Took a scraper and lifted a lot of loose material. Verdict: water/moisture remains trapped between the coating and the wood, exacerbating and accelerating rot. The result is that the wood is unable to 'breathe’. This is the second time I have put my confidence in this product but no more. I now have to replace the entire deck but this time WITHOUT this poor product.

We had a professional painter paint our dining room wall with Behr Premium Plus Ultra in Matte finish. While he was painting it smelled like new paint but a couple of days later it smelled like a wet dog. It only got worse over the next few days even after my wife ran two fans on the wall and kept the windows open. We mentioned it to Home Depot where we purchased the paint and they had never heard of this. They suggested we work with Behr on this issue. John at Behr suggested that the issue may be related to several other factors unrelated to the paint.
He also suggested that we cover it with Kilz primer to get rid of the smell. He did offer to cover the cost of the paint and primer which is the only reason I gave a 2-star rating instead of 1-star. We asked for reimbursement for the cost of the paint and he said that it's their policy not to cover labor costs. The did ask for a sample of the paint to test it for bacteria which we provided. Of course they reported that the test didn't show any problems and they didn't notice any smells after they painted a small swatch. They should have painted an entire wall in their own home and reported back after a week. ;)
Nevertheless, we put 2 coats of Kilz primer over the wall which removed the dog smell and then purchased another gallon of Behr paint from another Home Depot. We thought that maybe our local store had a bad batch. Speaking of which the both gallons were Batch #1753. On a side note, a year or so earlier we had painted another room in the house with the same Behr paint but that was batch #1473 and it didn't smell. After painting the second round of Behr paint the exact same thing happened as before: smelled fine when wet then a couple of days/weeks later it smelled like wet dog or ammonia. Two months later the smell has lessen but it's not gone.

Purchased June 2019 - for shutters, steps, front door, front porch - product does not spread. It is like paste that sticks and dries and can't smooth it out. Eight shutters = 16 hours of difficulty. Six steps another 6 hours of work - installed today - paint peels off and shows every foot step! I purchased two gallons (about $80) - however, I will NOT use on porch so have to purchase a different paint - NOT BEHR, NOT DECKOVER!!!! Worse experience I have ever had with any paint product. It was grueling hard work for the result to be half-** no matter what was done and disappointing the horrible quality of the product. Time, energy, money - WASTED!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS CRAP!

I’ve been using BEHR paint for years. I painted my shed over 10 years ago and it has stood up to the harsh sea coast salt and weather. 2 years ago I painted my garage with it and today it looks as good as the day I painted it. I recently switched from a BM oil based stain because the quality of the product has gone downhill. It no longer has the oil smell and begins to peel after 2 years. I’ve never seen stain peel. Now I am painting my house with the same Behr paint.

I used BEHR's Porch and Patio paint on a cedar wood deck. For two years the paint would bubble and peel off like cheap wallpaper. The paint does not breath and traps moisture and actually causes damage to the wood surface. I had contacted BEHR (MASCO CORP) and provided samples and photos. They said they conducted an analysis but provided no proof, they did not indicate what caused the damage but only stated that the paint was not the cause. Not an honest company.

I purchased this paint on 04/02/2019 from the Iron Mountain Michigan Home Depot. I hired a painter to paint my kitchen. I noticed a problem with coverage right away. (The walls had been properly prepared.) I thought it would look better when it dried. It did not. The painter had to go over it again. Now the original color was a cream color so there shouldn't have been a problem. Even after two coats it is still blotchy with the cream color showing through everywhere. I don't know what to do. I tried the 800 number but it will not connect me to a customer service person. It just goes in an endless loop of options. I tried the website to chat and no one ever came online. My last project I used Valspar from Lowe's and it was excellent. Covered a dark color in just one coat.

I have used Behr paint my entire life. I got Behr Marquee Semi gloss in Ultra White to repaint my powder room woodwork and kitchen cabinets. It's impossible to paint with. I can't immediately cut back into the previously painted area without horrible clumping. The surfaces were properly prepared, so it's very frustrating. I now have to sand and repaint because of the clumping and striations. I use good brushes, and have been painting for over 50 years. I have always used Behr paint because it has been dependable, had great coverage, and was easy to use. Not anymore. I wish that I could recommend Behr paint, but I no longer can.

BEHR paint was toxic even with the correct PPE. It caused nausea and vomiting. Contacted the complaint department and a John ** called me back. I informed him of what the problem was, he stated “if you read the label before you got started you would have known cabinet paint smells louder than regular paint”. I explained we were not able to finish the job due to becoming sick. We contacted other painters and also Home Depot where we purchased the paint and was told it should not have had that effect.
John offered to send me a odor stain blocker, I explained my cabinets were a dark brown. He Sent me a WHITE odor blocker. Again, my cabinets are brown not white. I was expecting a clear!!! John was condescending and not very helpful! My claim# **. I sent John a sample and still have not heard one word. As you may know Harvey hit this area and we do not have money to throw away! We are doing a little at a time and this set us back. Very disappointing in this product and the customer service from John **!

I used Behr deck over last year to resurface my worned deck. We followed the instructions and applied two coats of the Behr Deckover. This year the paint is peeling everywhere. I now have to replace my entire deck. I’m just devastated that I put so much work into a deck restoration project and in one year, I have to replace my deck. My neighbor was going to use this product until he saw what happen to my deck... I looked up the reviews and found many more examples of this failure of a product. I spent hundreds of dollars and much time to try and restore my deck and now one year later, it’s gonna cost over eight thousand dollars to replace my deck...

I can paint a room with this paint and only use one coat. It covers the walls and ceiling well. It offers many colors and there is a color for everyone. I highly recommend BEHR. They offer a paint for all your needs. I selected the paint from previous experience. It met my needs very well and it is the paint I tend to buy.

Everything about this paint is great. Nice quality. I'm a very happy customer. I really love it. The paint is non-toxic and dries fast and that is something that I really value. Overall, I had a great experience.

I like that paint and primer are in one paint. I chose BEHR because of its reliability and reputation. I like the durability and washability. I also like the ability to choose from glossy to matte finishing. The colors mix well and you can customize them to your liking. But the paint is a little bit more expensive than others. It's available in smaller quantities at major home improvement centers. The colors are great, but other paints like Valspar have a more saturation of color.

I chose BEHR because in my opinion it is the best paint on the market. It fits my needs, covers well, and have primer included in some of the products. I really like the colors that are available. It is durable paint that holds up for many years and reasonably priced. There are lots of customer service help at the Home Depot where I buy this paint.

We selected Behr because it advertised low fumes and we have a child in the house. I was surprised how low the odor was. It definitely had no smell so it was safe to use around children. We also chose it because we didn't want to have to use a primer coat. It also dried super quick and did not need another coat. And it seems to resist fingerprints and smudges. I like everything about it except for the price. I think it was a little steep. I understand that it is high quality paint and definitely worth the price but if I could change one thing it would be to make it more affordable.

I selected this paint because it is a brand I am used to and have always liked and get good results from. It is a thick paint that coats very well and the colors are very bright. It is easy to mix and also easy to apply to the surface you are painting. It dries quickly to put the second coat without having to wait a very long time. It has the primer included but seems to get less coverage than the other paint I have got in the past without the primer. It seems to go on the roller very thick and it is difficult to use a brush with.

I was very impressed with this brand BEHR and will definitely buy again. It was a good quality and they had a lot of color choices. I was impressed with the events of the coats and how smoothly it went on and looked really great. Overall good brand, but if you were to improve one thing it would be maybe a little thicker. I had to do three layers of the paint to get my ideal color.

The price of BEHR is reasonable and it is carried at Home Depot. I liked the large number of color shades it came in and I prefer semi gloss which they carried. The one feature I would prefer is covers in one coat. Especially if you are painting over a dark color. A little thicker to decrease drips would be helpful. Nevertheless, the BEHR paint was easy to mix and easy to apply.

BEHR was reasonably priced considering the quality of paint. It requires only one coat of paint. No primer necessary or multiple coats for a smooth finish or to cover walls completely. This brand was recommended by family member who was very pleased as was I. BEHR exceeded my expectations. I'm very satisfied with performance.

Selected this brand for color option and pricing but the color purchased did not apply to the white walls as true as the sample provided in store. Applied darker than expected and had to add white to the color to get shading closer to sample. But it's low odor, good quality for the price and happy with the wall coverage. Would purchase again but will choose lighter tone and would like to see color closer to store sample.
