We recently bought a new house with a lot of space in the back so my sister and I thought of having a pool there. We drove to Namco which she heard from her friend. When we got there, we saw they have a lot of sales and we ended up buying a pool that same day, along with some equipment. The purchasing experience was easy and fast. The employees were kind enough to stick around to help us and detail everything that we needed to know since we're first time buyers. The installation team did their job but forgot to put in a couple of pieces because I still have to pick up some equipments from them. But other than that, everything is perfect. The installation was done fine, set up right, and they took their time to do the correct thing. I would be able to give them a good recommendation to another friend.

The salesperson that I met at Namco was pretty knowledgeable. I kinda knew what I wanted to buy so I didn’t spend a whole lot of time at their store, but I had a fun experience.

I was very apprehensive in the beginning because in the circle that I run, Namco didn't have the best reputation. But it wasn't really them, it was the installers. I figured if I talked to a representative at Namco and voice my concern - why I might be going with another company, they may sway me. In doing so, the salesperson said they have had issues with the installers in the past but with the new program now, if I have a problem with anything, it goes through them, I don't have to chase the installers. That is what I was looking for - the reassurance that they would be accountable and not just hand it off to somebody else.
So I purchased a 24-foot round, 54-inch pool and from what I understand, it's the best that Namco makes in that model. I had it installed and the installers were beyond courteous and absolutely phenomenal. Although, initially, they sent me the wrong liner since the installers thought it was the 52-inch instead of the 54-inch. So they came on a Tuesday to install it, then on Thursday night and Friday, I realized that I had a large leak after the water was put in the pool. But they located the liner right away, came that next Monday and put it in.

My wife and I went to Namco in Wappingers Falls in need of pool chemicals and patio chairs. Chris ** (store mgr) walked us to the correct location for the chemicals we needed and helped us with the selection of chairs for our patio. Chris also carried the chairs out to our car and loaded them in for us as well. For the record we bought our pool from Namco in 2012 and had it installed by R&R contractors. We have been completely satisfied with the experience we have had with Namco.

I've had a pool for 20 years so I've heard about Namco many times. And when I went shopping around for summer furniture, I went to their store and got a better deal compared to other sets I've seen somewhere else. So I bought what I needed there and their staff have been very cordial, pleasant, and accommodating.

I don't typically write negative reviews but I have to share an experience just to make other local residents aware of what junk this place sells. For 25 years my family had an above ground pool - oval shape. Lasted every snow storm etc. Was great and trouble free. It met its demise after a large tree fell on it after a particularly violent thunderstorm. After one season without a pool, my family decided we needed a replacement. A pool has always been a huge part of our summer fun. We called Namco, they sold us a pool that was the same size as the one we previously had, and assured us it was high quality, etc etc. It cost in the range of 8000.00 furnished/installed.
We proceeded with the order. We were not thrilled with the installation crew. They left garbage around (including their lunches, water bottles and the like. Thrown in my yard... nice). They also seemed to dig a much larger hole around the perimeter of the pool than what was previously done. We asked about this and was told it is standard. It was 25+ years since our last pool install, so we had no idea. Our pool was ready to use in June 2014 = great. The pool did seem like a much lesser quality than what we had previously, but what did we know. This pool lasted literally one season. And was collapsed entirely by March. I'm sorry, but for $8000.00, this should NOT happen.
We were devastated! Here we had a pool for 25 years and not once did a winter cause it any trouble at all - with MUCH worse winters than last year. We made a few calls, but not one call was returned by anyone of authority. One person simply stated, "It was a tough winter." Really... for 8000.00 there should be some level of stability to the structure. Without much recourse, we called our insurance agent (State Farm). They sent 3 different pool companies to our home (Empire State Pools from poughquag, a company in cold spring and another company from Westchester) who all had the same outcome, cheap pool, poor installation.
One company was even kind enough to bring out a "sample" panel of their above ground pool wall versus what we had received and theirs was noticeably stronger and thicker. They even showed us what was wrong with the installation. After having that pointed out, it was obvious why the pool failed. They provided us with an estimate for a replacement and guess what? The cost was almost the same. I would also like to add that this pool was not freestanding. It has a large deck along one long side and part of the radius. The other pool companies all said they have NEVER seen a pool collapse this quickly, especially when supported!
Now our one-year old pool sits in our backyard as a huge eye sore of a mess. I have to pay to have it removed and disposed of (yes, at my cost). I contacted our lawyer who stated that we could try to sue for the damages, but it would probably go nowhere as Namco is stating it is weather related damage. Their product is complete garbage, only outdone by the contractors they hire to perform their installations (which Namco takes NO responsibility for either. They couldn't even tell me the name of the company who did our installation?). As a 40+ year homeowner in Dutchess County, this was the single worst purchase I had ever made. Have made a point to tell anyone I know of, hear of, anyone at all NOT to use Namco.

I purchased a 15 above ground Contempra Pool in May 2015. I had a great experience with the store manager, Jeff and his team. They are all very knowledgeable about the pools and installation process. My pool was delivered and installed on time for my son's graduation pool party. I have visited the store several times since this big purchase and the staff is familiar with me and calls me by name. I have purchased a new ladder system and my chemicals. I recommend this team for pool services based on their customer service. I love my new Contempra Pool.
Awesome pool, See you on your next visit!

The people that we worked with in the store went above and beyond for our family. They were friendly and helpful every step of the way. We had damage over the incredibly horrible Winter which was our first off season with the pool and having the WARRANTY made all the difference. We could not recommend this store as well as product more!!!

I purchased a 24 above ground pool summer of 2014. It was not installed on the end of August so it did not get much use. Over the winter, the liner ripped and the pool walls collapsed and buckled. I contacted Namco and they sent a letter saying that damage caused by winter was not covered. When the ice melted away, a family member of mine got a better look at the pool and noticed that an important installation step was skipped. The installer did not make a cove which is building up sand around the inside edge of the pool wall. Directly from the pool's installation manual: "this will prevent the liner from creeping under the wall, and it will also protect the liner from any metal edges of the pool framework. THIS STEP IS NOT OPTIONAL, IT MUST BE DONE."
I paid Namco to install the pool. I sent Namco new pictures and told then that their installer missed a critical step that lead to my liner ripping and that they should cover the costs of a new pool and installation. I did not hear from anyone for a couple of weeks so I made phone calls. This is where the frustration really began. To make this short, it was long hold times and no one calling me back; supervisors always in meetings. Eventually, after several weeks, they said that they would install the pool as a courtesy but would not cover the cost of a new pool. So I just tore the pool down and purchased a new pool from Blue Dolphin. If I want to get any money back from Namco I guess I will have to take them to small claims court.
My advice to anyone with a pool that collapses or fails is to make sure it is installed correctly. Looking down at the reviews below, I see the same things I saw with my pool: Kim of Millville, MA on June 5, 2015 – My pool’s liner rip looks very similar. Check to see if a cove was installed. Ron of Hudson, NH on May 21, 2015 – From looking at the pictures, it does not look like there is a cove. Brian of Tewksbury, MA on April 16, 2014 – Does not look like there was a cove built.

Namco's district manager Jeff called me today to discuss my issue with the company. He was great. It was an unexpected surprise as I thought the matter was closed. He listened and resolved my issues so I am quite satisfied.
I feel confident once talking with jeff that my issues are resolved. I would do business with Namco as long as the issues we discussed are rectified and if not I will be posting again on ConsumerAffairs.com. I don't think that's gonna be necessary though.

Bought pool in 2012. Horror show from the beginning when I was told I needed a 220 outlet for the pool. I asked the manager several times because I questioned it but she insisted it was necessary. The cost was 750 dollars plus I also paid an additional 750 to have the pool installed because they said the pool would be guaranteed if there was any problem. I was told I had a 3 yr warranty so when I put in a claim I believed the pool was covered. Wrong!! They said the hole isn't covered. Ridiculous as it's a defect in the wall. We had a Namco pool previously that lasted over 15 yrs and a new pool can't last more than 3 yrs without rusting.
Do not buy a pool from Namco. They make these guarantees & do not back up what they promise. Tried calling the customer service number & daily was put on hold for an hr or more waiting. Emails are not responded to without a runaround. So frustrating. Also I had to go online to find the info to start a claim & the 1st part under their warranty is to check with your homeowner's policy to see if it's covered. Piece of ** company, so disgusted. I will tell everyone & anyone not to do business with them as they take your money but don't stand by their product.
Thanks again Jacky. Please keep me updated on the status of the pool.

I ordered a pool from their Central Valley, NY store on 6/14. I left the store without a receipt because it was "lost" in their system. They told me they would email me a copy. So I asked "will this impact my delivery date?" "Not at all", they responded. So after about 8 days I contacted the Order Specialist, who was not at her desk and I left a message telling her I was nervous about the lost receipt and could she call me back to assure me that it would arrive on time. I had already set up the installer and ordered the water. Never called me back. Called again in 2 days, again no call back. Called again on Day 12 - no call back. Called the store - the pool isn't even in the warehouse! Asked them the people in the store to please check into this. Was told they would call me back - guess what? Never called me back. Wrote a complaint to corporate office - guess what? Yep, you guessed it - never heard back. What a bunch of unprofessional idiots.
Called the store again today, the person who sold me the pool told me she has a different pool in the store. She'll give it to me for the same price. All I have to do is pick it up! PICK IT UP?!?! - It's a 24 foot round!!! When I asked her when THAT could be delivered by, she told me she was "doing me a favor" and that I would have to wait another week or so. Maybe if they had worked with me from the beginning, I could have worked with them. But I've been ignored for so long, I do not trust them to do the right thing. I will never use Namco again.

I purchased a pool in 2014. They installed it and now, not even a year later the metal top rail that holds the wall and liner up has lifted. I've been in touch with Namco since early May and now it's almost the end of June and no one has contacted me. When I call the store or the pool installers, they tell me it's from winter damage... We installed our 1st pool over 16 yrs ago and went thru 16 winters and never had any winter damage and now we pay the installers $1100. And like I said, less than a year later it's coming apart. They're great at selling you a pool, but try to reach a live person at corporate... good luck... never again. Shop local and install yourself.

Bought a 27' pool on line from NAMCO. When it arrived, realized we needed a 24' Pool (as we were replacing one damaged over the winter). Called customer service and got the run around. Asked repeatedly to speak with a manager and was always told the managers were in a mtg. or sent to a voicemail. I left several messages but never received a call back. Worst Customer Service I've ever dealt with. Stay away from NAMCO!

I purchased a pool on 5/18/15. The item stated in stock and available. On 5/29 I sent am email requesting the status of my order. I then received an response that the pool was back ordered until June 10th. I specifically ordered the pool due to the fact that it was in stock and available. Each time I tried calling, I spent no less than 40 minutes on hold. The woman was rude and less than helpful. I explained my concerns. The order was placed in a timely fashion and was done so that it would be ready for a graduation party I was hosting on 6/14. Very little attempt was made to assist me and the woman refused to let me speak to her supervisor.
The pool arrived 6/6. I had to postpone the installation and incurred fees. The pool arrived and is missing pieces. Upon emailing and asking for a phone call, I only received a response via email. I sent an email with the shipping sheets as well as a picture of the missing pieces. After customer service finally responded, she told me I need to give her the part numbers. I sent the email with the order as well as the pieces, the item numbers would be her responsibility. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she refused yet again. She told me she would order the parts and get them here. So here it is almost a month later and I have a party for 40 people and a huge hole in my backyard due to their poor customer service. I only received information on a back order after I contacted them yet the website still claims in stock and available. They also state the office opens at 8:20 am but when calling it is closed until at least 9am.

I ** purchased and financed a 27ft pool from NAMCO. I was always told it was 27ft pool was here when I bought house. Got destroyed from bad winter. Installers come here this past Saturday to install. You think they would measure spot. They open boxes and come to find out I need 24ft pool. Inexperience on my part but NAMCO says boxes open it's mine!!! 4,000.00 dollars of pool I don't need. Boxes are fine they just don't have straps on them. Their installers opened not me! I have built wooden deck! Installers should have noticed size if they're professional. And NAMCO should still accept boxes back and sell me 24ft pool. I have no use for this pool. My family is very upset. I have been to news media already social media and will continue till this issue gets resolved. Please respond!!! ** Thank you.
Thanks James! We're glad everything worked out for you!

After reaching out to the Attorney General's office and the VP of Merchandise and Retail stores, the wall came in to the Auburn store the following day for pickup. We also received a $500 store credit and a check to replace the water in the pool. I am happy that the situation was resolved, but I would not recommend to a friend based on my experience.

Purchased my pool in mid May 2014 and the Oops warranty (which we were told was 3-years, but was only 2.) After a nightmare and being misled regarding delivery, it was finally received and installed in late June. Over the winter, the seam of the liner tore and we lost all of the water and the wall became damaged. This was all covered under the manufacturer's warranty. After a bit of back and forth following a claim in early April, Namco agreed to provide the liner and wall so that we could have the pool repaired. I was initially told by ** in the Auburn store that it would take 10 days for delivery.
Later, I was told by corporate it would take 4 weeks. As we now approach 7 weeks, I still have no idea when the wall will be in. I showed up to pick up the wall and liner, and the district manager ** hid in the back office. They ignore my emails requesting updates. The product quality is poor, and the customer service is even worse. Also, the extended warranty company (Fortegra) tried to say that they did not cover the labor to fix the pool and I had to decipher the legal language in the agreement for them... Go anywhere BUT Namco to buy a pool. There is a reason they are rated an F with the better business bureau!!! I would rate them zero stars if I could.

I bought a complete, above-ground pool package. Every piece of the package except for the ladder and the filter were defective. Namco DOES NOT answer customer service inquiries. You are on your own with these products. In the first season, the chlorinator broke almost immediately, and the cover broke during installation - they gave me the wrong size. I got a new chlorinator because it was within 90 days, but I had to buy a new cover. At the beginning of the second season, the pump broke down. Fortunately, I had purchased my own, non-Namco warranty, which covered the replacement of a new pump. After the second season, I noticed that the pool wall was developing a large crack in it, and called my warranty company to get a replacement. They immediately determined that it was a manufacturer's defect and that it needed to be replaced.
Fortunately, I reported it in March, and was informed that the new wall and liner were ordered during the first week of April. I tried calling several times to check on the order, but they don't answer the phone. I finally got a phone call from Namco stating that my wall and liner would be delivered on May 13th, and that the carrier would call to verify delivery. I got no call, and called every day for the next week - no answer, or return call on the few occasions that I got to voice mail. On 5/22 I drove 40 minutes to the store to see if I could talk to the manager about whether the wall and liner could be picked up, or what the story was (because they wouldn't answer the phone). The manager told me that I had to wait another 2 weeks.
Two weeks later I began calling, and then called the warranty company to see if they could get through. The warranty company informed me that the wall was ordered ON THE DAY THAT I DROVE TO THE STORE, and that it would not be in until 4-6 weeks later. In the northeast, that means that I may not have a pool this season. While in the store, back on my visit, the manager tried to appease me by offering to put points on my Rewards Card... but THEY DIDN'T HAVE A RECORD OF IT - so all the points that I assumed were going on to that card from buying chemicals were lost. Completely incompetent company selling completely defective products with completely absent customer service.

Namco should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. We bought a very expensive pool from their Brick, NJ store in April 2010. By December 2011, the pool had huge holes in it and the pressure of the water punctured the liner. After an unreasonable amount of phone calls (including one to the CEO's office) and arguments, Namco agreed to replace their inferior pool at their cost. When the installers came to replace the pool, they told me that the pool walls "couldn't get wet." Really? A pool that cannot get wet??? Is it me?
Yesterday after opening our pool, we found that the side wall has rusted and there is yet another hole. I am positive the moment someone jumps in my pool it will burst. I cannot believe this company is still in business. This will be the third pool wall in 5 years. I will try again to get it warrantied, but I am sure I am in for a fight. DO NOT PURCHASE A POOL FROM NAMCO!!! If another company costs more, it is for a reason!
Hi Janine we would like to try to resolve this the best we can, please check your private notes for further details.

We purchased a pool from Namco that the liner tore on the seam internally, causing the water to drain out and the ice to crumple the walls at the bottom. We are still paying on this and didn't even have it for a year. Paid 3000.00 for it and they say the warranty will not cover winter damage. They also assumingly wrote that removal of snow and ice from the cover may have helped prevent this type of damage. We cleaned it off routinely!! They say weather-related damage is not covered.
I say if the liner wasn't so cheap it would not have torn along the seam. Very clear to me the tear is long, horizontal and on the seam. They will not help us in any way other than to sell us a new wall and liner at a cost of over $1100.00? I asked for information for the manufacturer to the pool walls so that maybe they would help me but Namco will not return my calls? Class action lawsuit? I'm in!!! Stay away from Namco. This was our first pool and not only am I financially out but my kids are disappointed!

I bought a pool from Namco (Boston Rd, Springfield MA) in May 2014. Over the winter it was destroyed by ice. I realized that the warranty says that weather damage isn't covered, but I thought I would go try to talk to the people at the store and see if they could do anything for me. The manager ** said I should submit a claim anyway because they will usually offer some sort of assistance when the pool is so new. So I put in the claim, which I now think was only a delay tactic, and waited 2 weeks for someone to get back to me by email and tell me, "Sorry, we can't help you. But see your local store and they will give you a great deal on a replacement".
So I went back to the store (twice) and explained the situation. They sounded very concerned, and told me how surprised they were that my pool had collapsed. After all they said it was the strongest pool they sell. Then they offered me their great deal. For only $400 MORE than I had paid less than a year ago I could replace my pool with the exact same model. Now mind you, I have lived in this house for 18 years. When we moved in there was a pool here that looked to be at least 7-10 years old. Even if it was at the low end of that it still means it lasted around 25 years. And it was actually structurally sound when we replaced it, it was just old looking and starting to rust. The Namco pool lasted less than a year. You are NOT saving money by buying a cheap NAMCO pool. Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra up front and get a quality product.

Namco was recommended to me for patio furniture because of their selection and pricing. I was guaranteed delivery on my merchandise within 7-10 days and was provided a name and number of the company who would be delivering my furniture. I thought it was great that they were so helpful and that my furniture would be delivered to my door for free. Boy, was I wrong!
I tried calling their delivery company first to coordinate a date and hopefully get the furniture before 10 days. Upon calling, I got a voicemail for someone named **, NOT the name of any delivery company. I thought the whole scenario was a bit odd and decided to call the store itself and make sure my order was submitted properly. After 4 days and SEVERAL calls to attempt to reach SOMEBODY, I FINALLY got a hold of someone in the Namco customer service department. (No one at the store itself ever answered the phone.) This associate informed me that my furniture was back-ordered and they would not be calling me until sometime the first week of June to discuss delivery. When I asked this associate if the company was going to inform me of the delay, I was told that they did have a list, but did not have time to "get to me."
So, obviously these people must have thought that I was never going to realize that my furniture never showed up after the time frame I was given. So, not only was I lied to regarding my order, but I received TERRIBLE customer service as well. I was told that in order to cancel my order I had to go to the store itself, so I did. When I got there, I was given a completely different story from their employees and led to believe that there was a strong lack of communication between the store and corporate. After 25 minutes of refusing multiple discounts and floor models of furniture, I was FINALLY given my refund and my order was canceled. Lesson Learned!

No customer service, was told did not fall under warranty, what does? Have now gotten an attorney involved. Namco sells subordinate products. If you sell a pool to someone who lives in the NE then it should withstand NE winters. Installer told us the previous pools we bought weighed 1100 lbs our new pool weighs 600 lbs. No one is taking responsibility. Namco has insurance to cover losses. They are not concerned about previous buyers just trying to pimp out new unassuming customers to scam.
Whether a savvy previous owner or neophyte stay the heck away from Namco. Spend the extra money & get what you pay for. Down with Namco, perhaps BBB should get involved OR we should all band together & file a class action suit. Thoughts???

The first two salespeople had no idea what they had in stock. They actually were getting ready to turn us away until the manager came and told them everything we were looking for was in stock in the back of the store. We wasted 4 hours for no reason.
Installation: NAMCO had an installer come to our house to install the pool. 1st: NAMCO insisted that we had to have a permit. The installer stated he could care less about the permit after we had already pulled one. 2nd: The day of the installation, the installer insisted we had to give him cash for the additional excavation or he was leaving. 3rd: After my wife left the house, the installer forced my 72-year-old mother to write him a check for additional monies. He told her he would not leave until she did. My mother wrote him a check and then placed a stop payment on it. 4th: When I came home, I found that the installer never set up my pump or my filter, left cigarette butts all over the yard along with soda, Gatorade and water bottles.
I contacted the "lack" of customer service line. They have been absolutely useless. They never returned my calls and after 3 weeks of me calling they called the Leominster, MA store and told them to have me come down and offer me a $200 store credit for my troubles. HMM.... So their resolution is for me to drive to their store and get a $200 credit in which I have to spend in their store. That seems a little crazy. NAMCO has been a huge disappointment and ruined the fun of getting a pool. Stay Away. There are other pool companies. They may be more, but you get what you pay for!!!

I had not received any promotional materials for the points I have accumulated this year and come to find out, they are not being tracked properly. In addition, there are still several iterations of my name in the computer which were supposed to have been cleaned up last year. Unfortunately, I have spent over 700 this year and you show me as having 218 (+ 81 from yesterday), under the WRONG NAME. I specifically charge to the Shirley ** name that pops up at the register. Come to find out, that one is not even in the points database that your clerk pulled up for me yesterday. The 218 points were under Mike - an account that I have not alluded to AT ALL THIS YEAR while checking out. This is very disappointing, especially in light of other challenges I have had at this store (old computers making long lines, out of pool test strips (at a pool store?), mischarges, etc).
OK, since your style is to put the ball back in my (did you forget I am the Customer and have been for several years?) court for YOUR mistake, let me help make this easier on you. I will not shop at your store any longer. So you can take those thousands of future points that I would not have apparently received anyway and do whatever you want with them. I knew you guys were a lousy company, but to have the balls to put this on me is one I did not even expect.

On July 4th, my wife and I spent 3 1/2 hours in the North Attleborough, MA store trying to purchase a pool. We were told they had a specific pool in stock (which come to find out means in the "warehouse"). We dealt with so much shady haggling behaviors from the store manager that it should have been our first clue that we didn't wanna do business with these people, but we were so mesmerized by the price we were getting a 30-foot pool for. We live in upstate New York and were visiting Massachusetts area and I had the room in my car to take the pool with me.
We were told it would have to be shipped to us because it was stored in this warehouse that was now just brought to my attention, but was promised delivery in 7-10 business days. Today is July 21st and we have been trying hard to get someone to give us an answer that isn't "it's still in the warehouse and the delivery has been assigned to a delivery company" as we have been hearing this for 2 weeks now. Every phone call made to the store usually ends with some kid telling us that the manager is busy with customers and he will have her call us back.
We are getting tired of dealing with the store employees so I did a google search for Namco corporate hoping they could help us out and ran across the URL for this site. I've read every one of the reviews and am realizing that calling corporate isn't going to help us either and realizing that we are on the right road for a 3-month runaround. So rather than repeating everything that has already been said over and over again here, I'm going to take the advice and cancel my order and strongly encourage people to buy their pools elsewhere even if it costs more money up front. I didn't quite bring up every bit of stress and backdoor dealings that we had with them, but it's been a horrible experience to this point. Good luck.

Namco called to let me know that they just became a member and didn't know about the complaints. I would think that consumer affairs would have at least sent an email to them so they could act on them. Although they can't resolve my problem they offered some rewards points to lessen the pain. I appreciate it but doesn't really help in our situation.

We purchased our pool (24 X 10) last May (2013) from Namco. The installers came out and installed the pool. Left boxes all over the place and really pretty much a mess. This was in June of 2013. Went on vacation to NC for 2 weeks, had daughter watch pool. She told me that the water was way down. I told her to put water in it and add the chemicals. Got home, pool is about half full and no signs of leaking. Added more water and couldn't find the leak. Called Namco and they are useless when it comes to service. Their warranty policy states that the customer has to find the leak, take pictures of it and prove it is a defect.
I'm not a pool expert and didn't even know where to begin to find the leak. I have heart issues (struck by lightning) and can't do a lot of things because of it. One is to jump in and out of a pool and find a leak. By chance one day in AUGUST, I found the leak. The seam separation had gotten big enough that it was visible and there was water at the edge of the pool. OK... Namco said I had to pick up the new liner at the store I bought it from. I went to them and they had to order it. I then received the liner and had to call them back so they could get the installer to put it in. Oh and I had to empty the rest of the pool so I bought a pump to do so.
They showed up end of September or early October, don't recall, most likely because of seeing red. So they tore out the old liner, left it in various places around the yard, put the new one in and left. I filled the pool just enough to winterize it. I winterized it, covered it. I opened the pool in late June of 2014. Water was lower than I thought. I filled it, got the pump running, shocked it and so forth. I vacuumed it and everything was looking good. Two days later, the water is below the skimmer. Next day even lower. Looked for he leak. No evidence again.
I went to the store where I bought it thinking they might have a leak detection kit. How about they had a we don't care kit. No help, suggestions or anything. I made a contraption that allowed me to get colored water to specific areas. I am pretty sure I found it and it looks like a seam again. Now they want me to add water to my pool which has maybe a foot of water in it and take pictures of what I found. When was I made responsible for finding, documenting a defect (or I really think the installer didn't do it right, same guys both times).
This is absurd and I don't feel like I've got a leg to stand on. I have a case number but as far as I know they won't do anything more without this picture which will cost me more money to add water and then I have to figure a way to record it. I just can't believe this is going on for the second time. I'm about to call the financing people and a lawyer to stop paying for a pool I've never really been able to use. It's a crime...

Our pool liner was ripped from the winter ice and all the water came out. We sent pictures to Namco and they forwarded to corporate head quarters. They gave us a replacement liner for half off. One the connectors is broken for the wall track, they said that they will research it and order it. Finally we got the package that we had to sign for because they had the wrong address. Open the box wrong part. I have called the store several times, I hear that the district manager is coming and she will know how to find it. Told the part was ordered and they will overnight it to me, 4 days later nothing. I call the store to find out what is going on, he tells me they don't call him back and that I would probably get better answers if I call. I have called and they are always closed. I finally got a rep to call me back, she saw the email and picture of what I needed, the manager was in a meeting and she would get back to me. That was 6/12/14, today is 6/30/14, pool is still not up. Our pools is only 4 years old, not happy. Never ever Namco again.!!!

Namco is cheap when it comes to buying a POOL versus the competitors. So obviously, it seems like the right choice. However, their customer service and warranty department are so absolutely ridiculous, it's worth spending the extra cash on the pool and installation elsewhere.
I bought a pool and had it installed May 27th 2014. I asked the installers to have the pool placed 6 feet away from my deck so I could extend my current deck to the pool. They weren't able to measure correctly so the pool now rests 6 feet from my current deck on one end and 8 feet from the deck on the other end. Simple mathematics and a ruler are clearly too difficult for this company to follow or understand. Once the pool was filled, I noticed a leak in the ball valve going from my chlorinator to the jet in the pool. It was a very small leak luckily, but a leak nonetheless. If you spend 7 thousand dollars on a pool, there should be no leaks.
So I called Namco. They asked me if I could fix the issue myself. I told them the warranty covered the leak. They asked if I could fix it myself again. I told them no. They then told me that I can only place a warranty issue through their headquarters in Conn. But they aren't open on the weekends. So I waited. That Monday, I called them and they said their installation manager was in a meeting so they would take a message and get back to me. 2 days later, I had received no word. I called again. Their manager was in another meeting. Another day passes and I call again. Installation department manager answers and says he'll call the installer and have them fix the leak.
I receive no update for the next 3 days. I called back and the installation manager says "Oh no one showed up?" I promptly responded with "no!" He tells me that he will call them again and get back to me, then hangs up the phone. No response for another 2 days. I called back again but unfortunately, his secretary tells me he is in a meeting all day and can't talk. The meeting lasted for 2 days straight. I never received a call back. Finally, after what seemed like 15 more calls, I got a hold of the installation manager. I told him I needed to talk with his boss immediately. He told me he scheduled another pool company to come fix my pool and to not worry.
1 week later, the new company showed up to fix the leak. I never received a follow up call for the manager or anything. A simple 10 minute fix took 3 weeks to be corrected. Thankfully, the leak was small. I can only imagine if it were detrimental to the pool's integrity. DON'T BUY FROM NAMCO!!!! Spend the extra money and go elsewhere. They only want to sell the pool and then leave you in their dust. They don't care about the customer, only the dollar you spend on the pool. I don't buy anything from them now. They don't deserve the money. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of them.
I have read other reviews of Namco and they match my experience. Unfortunately, I read them too late. So I am waiting for the day I have a real issue and I know my problems won't be resolved by their company. I'm shocked they actual thrive as a pool business. A 10 year old could do a better job at customer relations.

Pool wall 3 years old, purchased in Wappingers Falls, NY. Wall started buckling, thought ok, snow maybe rain. But we always maintained it. Took it apart, saw rust and holes thru the wall around cove area and some spots up the wall. They sent us a pro-rated new wall, $400.00. We bought new liner, $450.00 and water $495.00 thru a friend. Enjoyed it for 2 summers. Was cleaning around the pool and noticed a split going up the wall. I freaked!! My hubby called them again, took pictures and the mgr of store gave us wall and liner for $200.00. Took it all apart once again, and holy cow... The rust went around the wall and split it in half! I'm disgusted! Will this happen yet again? I've been fortunate I had a wonderful experience with Jeff the Mgr. But honestly, this is my last time fixing a Namco pool. There are no 25-year warranty on their pools!!! So, I've got my new pool man lined up for 2-3 years from now!!! Here's to $525.00 of more wasted water!!

Namco is a corporate chain constantly changing its outlooks on what it's trying to achieve. Because corporate has little to no connection with us employees, this leads to many issues with customers that we are not able to solve in stores. Many times I will see advertisements of great deals, yet we don't even have the items in stock or available. This is not only frustrating for our customers, but us employees as well. We do not get raises. I haven't received a raise in 5 years and I know employees who have been here for 15 years without a raise. The commissions have been cut and that doesn't even matter when we don't have enough stock to sell.
To some up everything, Namco employees truly offer the best support and information we can provide. The downfall of this is that when serious issues like install times or pool damages come into play, we have little to no say on fixing any of the issues. This loses customers and it loses the trust in the employees because we simply don't have the power or knowledge to correct it. I truly apologize numerous times to customers when things hit the fan. For the most part, we do our best to give phone numbers and emails to those in corporate. At the end of the day, we do not have the power to fix major issues and this is a huge problem.
I can say we do offer some of the best deals out there for pools and accessories, but that's not really saying much when so many things go wrong. I personally thank anyone who at least recognizes that it's truly not us employees who are causing them the issues. Its simply because we are not able to physically have the power to fix things. Much of us are full time students or working two jobs to pay for our families. I can guarantee if we were going through any of the issues that may arise in our stores, we would surely feel the same. I apologize to anyone who has had a bad experience and I hope that your frustrations haven't led to undermining us part time employees who simply do the best we can for our abilities within the company.

Customer service problems that we had with ordering our new pool from your company was beyond what should be acceptable. On April 26th, I paid my new Mirada Pool in full and was told that I should have delivery within 14 business days. When my wife and I called about delivery after paying the pool off, they could not find the paperwork, this was the second time it had been misplaced. I was given the name of the installer and was told to contact him, which I did and he came to my home to view the location for the install. No problem with the installer. I called back again to see about delivery and guess what, once again they could not locate my paperwork and I was told that they would need to research it. I received a call back and was told that it had been misfiled as an in store purchase and not a delivery.
Shortly after writing you last week, I received a call from your delivery company who told me that they would be out between 3 and 6 pm on Saturday. May 10th. At 6:15pm, I received no call from the pool delivery company nor had the pool been delivered as promised. I called the delivery company again at 6:30pm and was able to speak to someone at the delivery company who told me that they would need to look into it and get back to me. I called your Manchester NH store and left a message for the Manager on Duty to call me as I was told that he was busy with a customer. I left a number for him to call me back at. At 7pm, my wife called your store in Manchester as we had not received a call back from either the delivery or the branch. After staying on hold for over 20 minutes, she spoke to James who was apologetic by offered no solution. Shortly after speaking to him, I received a call from the delivery company who told me that the pool was never loaded on the truck as scheduled. They offered to deliver the pool on Monday May 12th.
The delivery arrived at 7:40 this morning and was delivered by pickup truck, the driver told me that my pool was left off the truck and a pool designated to be sent to Worcester Mass was placed on the truck instead of mine. Not only did I have to take miss a day of work Saturday night to wait for the delivery which never showed! I also had to take vacation time for the Monday morning delivery! This is unacceptable customer service, losing my paperwork on several occasions and the delivery being late!

Purchased our pool on April 26th, and the pool was delivered 5 days later. Figured that now we have it, I can get a permit, and will get some sort of response from the company as to when the pool will be installed. We paid an extra $1000 to have the pool installed, and was told by the sales person that Namco has their own in-house installation. Wrong. They use sub-contractors. It's been three weeks and we could not get the permit application signed, cannot get in touch with the sub-contractor, and no one at Namco returns phone calls in a timely manner. All we really wanted was a date. They cannot even supply that. So the pool is going back to Namco, and I anticipate fighting to get my money back.
I have already purchased another pool from a reputable company that actually has their own installers (we even met him, and he is real nice and helpful). Buyer beware, stay away from Namco. And for that, person who purchased the pool and hasn't had it delivered yet, go back and cancel your order and go somewhere else.

I bought a pool May 29-2012 then next season it was peeling on the outside of the pool everywhere. My husband said it was probably cosmetic so we said why hassle with the warranty. Until this year we realized that the peeling actually peeled right through to produce big holes everywhere. Now the holes have rust around the edges and leaked the water out. I contacted them regarding the warranty and they said because of the rust it was not covered. This is just BS because holes being outside and wet are going to get rusted - this is not the original damage. They gave me a new quote to replace the pool for 1012.26 plus installation and removal fees. I am still paying on the original pool since it has only been 2 seasons. How is that fair? What kind of pool only lasts 2 seasons!! I will never buy a pool from them again. I have a feeling that something is definitely wrong with the manufacturing of the pool and they said they no longer carry that pool but where does that leave me.

My email conversation with Namco: ME: Hello, I ordered another new pool from Namco on 04/12/14 at the Nashua, NH store. I'm ready to make my first payment on this but still have NO Product! I was told at the time of purchase my pool would be in the following week for pick up. I arranged for my own pool installer as I couldn't afford to pay the installer Namco offered. I'm very concerned I might not be able to get an appt with him when my pool finally DOES arrive. My previous pool is 3/4 dismantled since I thought I would have the new one by now. (an eyesore for sure). I called a couple more times and was told "it's a busy time of year for us and pool items are on back order... Check back next week." Sorry, I'm a little bit frustrated. Can anyone please help? Thanks so much.
Their response: "Hello, Your liner and pump are available for pick up and the rest of your items are in the warehouse being prepared for shipment. Thank You,NAMCO Customer Service." Really?? How impersonal, non-sympathetic... Ignorant. Is that a reply?? It's been a month! Salesman deceived us into this sale by promising delivery within one week! STILL waiting!

Purchased a 24 round 52 high Willow model in June 2009. The pool is less than 5 years old. There is rust under the skimmer. The liner (20 gauge) has torn in multiple places all around the bottom. I am now being told I can't replace with a 25 gauge liner because the walls won't support it. It is a piece of garbage and Wappinger Falls just keeps giving me the run around. I need the bottom track section, the part is $8 and they want to charge $17 for shipping. My previous pool was up 21 years old. Original liner, never a repair. Namco products are junk. Never again. Government agencies should look into this company. I feel so disgusted.

Good going Namco, you know how to treat your customers after the sale is made.

I was contacted from a Namco representative to discuss my issue. The original complaint was made in April 2014 and it was August 2015 when contacted. I believe the representative was sincere in making a gesture to compensate for the issue since the repairs were complete. The compensation was in the form of store credit. I will say this when I went to use the store credit an employee in the Salem NH store was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. If the company truly wants to win customers it should look at policies and procedures and design them to assure customers are informed of warranties and what is covered. I won't be making Namco my first choice but I will start to consider them for pool needs.

I purchased my pool, a 21x52 round Willow pool on June 21, 2012 order # ** Namco 700 Boston Rd Billerica MA 01821 978-663-8848. I had it installed by a Namco suggested installer. The pool is still under my 2-year warranty. Multiple rips in the bottom of the liner formed over the winter letting water out of the pool. The cover then collapsed causing buckling and creasing to form in the sides of the pool. Namco claims that they are not responsible for "winter damage". I do not think I am wrong that the product should withstand normal weather conditions. I took precautions by pumping the pool cover off and removing snow with a roof rake.
They now say I must go directly to the manufacturer of the pool. If I buy a blender from a department store and it is defective, I bring it back to the location for a refund or replacement. Not with Namco. When I called the customer service number to discuss, the representative gave standards arguments but no back up information. When I continued to press, the representative stated it is only covered if the seam came apart. I ask how can you tell if that is the case if you have not come out to inspect the pool? Namco is not consumer friendly and does not back the product they sell. Once out the door, they are done with you. I will not be purchasing replacement parts or pool necessities from them in the future.

Since I've exhausted myself writing to various agencies in regards to Namco pool complete and utter disregard of pool quality and customer service here's my advice to anyone even giving a nano thought to purchasing anything from Namco - take an equivalent amount of money out of your bank and just burn it. The result will be the same. You'll be left with absolutely nothing but an intense feeling of loss and anger. Conversely fill your bathtub with the cash, enter the tub and revel in the thought that this is what you have just saved from not purchasing anything from the crooks at Namco.
OK here's the Reader’s Digest version - purchased the pool during liquidation. First set up falling liner, collapsing walls the very next day, extremely uneven pool bottom, generally shoddy work. 2nd install 2 weeks later. Once again, collapsing walls next day, leaking liner-1st liner replaced with different liner of lesser gauge and multiple seams in bottom (bait and switch), improperly installed supports, pool not true round. Contact Namco, send pics, wait, wait. Finally get through to customer disservice. Due to liquidation, Namco not responsible, must deal with manufacturer. Passing the buck, a time honored American way of getting away with it!!!

Two days after I ordered (and paid for) the furniture I get a call from the sales rep at Namco telling me I couldn't order 4 swivel chairs and instead could only order 2. She kept saying how they couldn't deliver 4... I was like ok fine, you pay me back the difference. She agreed, but the credit she gave back was incorrect by about $40. I agreed to look the other way about the $40, but then when the delivery didn't take place I got annoyed and called back. She said she'd give me a 10% discount on my credit card... Of course when she gave me the credit she didn't give me 10%, more like 6%. So again I had to call back. This time I wanted my original $40 back and the full 10%.
I finally got the full credits back and then got a revised date for delivery. Yup you guessed it... delivery didn't come again. I've now been waiting for over a MONTH for patio furniture... This is beyond ridiculous. Good luck getting a customer service rep on the phone at their headquarters. I was on the phone for an hour and no one picked up. I'll be lucky to get a delivery at this point, who knows if I can even get a refund from these people. Not only are we impressed, with the fact that after all this time the company is willing to do right by us, but by the professionalism of this young man.

My husband and I recently purchased 20 pool coves at the Newark, DE store. We were never told that all sales were final. Yes, it is on the receipt but if your company is going out of business, any consumer would think that they would be told of such. When we decided to return the unused items (total purchase was $83.86) two weeks later, we were told that we could not get our money back as the company had then filed for bankruptcy. We have spent thousands of dollars in that store and were very disappointed on the way this is/was being handled. I called and spoke with Marybeth at the corporate office and was pretty much told, "There is nothing we can do for you!" Not only did we drive 35 minutes to get to that Namco as it was the closest, but to be treated like such is poor customer service. I would not even entertain the idea of purchasing of purchasing anything from them. No wonder they are filing for bankruptcy. Very poor customer service.
Glad everything is resolved. Thanks again Michele!

When they put the pool in, it was not done correctly. The screws put a hold in liner. We called Namco store and they told us to e-mail them pictures, which we did. I never heard back from them. We called several times again with no response. I will only try one more time then I will file a complaint in the court house.

I purchased a pool from Branchbrook Pools in Wharton, NJ. It is now in the final year of warranty. We submitted a claim in May or June when we opened the pool. We just closed it for the summer and I doubt it will make it through the winter. The rust around the top ledge and down the side got worse as the summer passed by and our repeated calls were ignored. Namco Pools customer service has promised to take care of the situation if we sent pictures and receipts. We have done all they asked, made numerous call to customer service, went to the store where we purchased the pool, and have been ignored by everyone we talked to. Not even a courtesy return call. Their motto is great customer service. It should be no customer service. They are rude, dishonorable and I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Last summer, I purchased "the top of the line pool" from Namco. Everything seemed smooth, the pool got delivered, and installation was soon after. But three pieces of the pool were damaged, so they had to be re-ordered, which took forever, because no one at Namco in Waterford, CT takes responsibility for anything. Finally two weeks later, I followed up with "headquarters" and the parts had still not even been ordered. Finally got the parts, installed, and all set. Not really.
About two months later, I noticed a lot of water around the pool. We had a very rainy summer so it was hard to tell what was going on. I called Namco and they told me to call the installers (Riken Construction). They came out when no one was home and informed me I had drainage issues which were causing pools of water and also dips all around the inside of the pool, **! I didn't know what to do, then a hurricane hit and that ended pool season.
Well while the pool was closed, we proceeded to lose half the water in the pool, not drainage issues a leak like I had thought. Now I contacted Namco and the extended warranty company since we had purchased the OOPS contract, and no one would help us. After many ignored phone calls and a pathetic offer of a discounted liner with the install cost ours, I have thought of spending a lot of money to have a real pool company come out and fix this. I don't feel this is right, but I just want it done correctly so my family can enjoy our pool!

I bought a pool from Namco in Wappingers Falls, NY a little over 2 years ago. Last year, I noticed rust under water input into pool and was just out doing spring cleaning and noticed that the pool is rotted through. I called Namco in Wappingers and was told that rot is not covered under manufacturer’s warranty.
My last pool lasted me 20 years and this one, not even 3. Namco, shame on you for selling a fraudulent product like this. I think some kind of legal action should be taken against this company for consumer fraud. Now I have to buy another and I can tell you it will not be from them. Now, I am out $1,600.00 for a pool that should last for years as we purchased the supposedly top of the line pool, I would hate to see the bottom of the line. When I contacted Namco, all they could tell me is that the rot is not covered.

Patio furniture began rusting once it hit the outdoors. After a year, it was a piece of junk.
I went to the Enfield, CT Namco store (where it was purchased) and was treated wonderfully. The assistant manager notified Manchester Headquarters and said I would be hearing from them. I never did so I went to Manchester Headquarters with pictures. A customer service person summoned Andrea, customer service manager. She immediately put up her dukes, listened and came around, felt that I would get a refund and that I would hear in about a week.
That was June 28, 2011. I heard nothing. I returned to headquarters on September 2 at 3 p.m. Headquarters had just closed for Labor Day weekend. No Andrea, but that was the best part of it. Serena, another customer service person, said that she would pursue it Tuesday when the office reopened. She did call Tuesday and on Wednesday I was told I could get the refund at the Enfield store when I brought back the rusted thing.
I was only too happy to get rid of it and was cheerfully refunded. The process would have been a smooth one if it weren't for the customer service manager who lied and did nothing. What an irony!

During this winter, the sides of the pool started collapsing inward. Called Namco and was told to take pictures and email to Customer Service. Did this February 22, 2011. Called repeatedly, to be told each time we would have an answer to our warranty claim in a few days, a week, or a call that same day. This went on for approximately two months. I kept notes of each phone call. The final call was told they were trying to locate replacement pool wall, and would get back to me that day, which as usual, they never did.
As we were reaching the end of our warranty period without any recourse from Namco, we decided to see if we could figure out how to push the walls back out ourselves, as we would get no help from Namco anyway. We were successful but will never shop at Namco again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. They may be cheaper than other pool places, but that cost difference is definitely reflected in their customer service.

I purchased a pool from Namco around April 2010. On or around July 2010, my pump started making a very loud noise when I turned it on immediately. I contacted customer service, and informed them of the problem. I was told they would be sending a technician to take care of the problem. It is now November 2010, and after numerous phone calls, until this day, the problem has not been solved. I've been getting the runaround from these people. I will never buy nor recommend this company to anyone.

Don't Buy chlorine from them. I purchased granular chlorine and 3" pucks from the NH store. I keep testing my water and it shows it needs chlorine. I normally use 3 pucks and 2 bags. I now have 6 pucks and the equivalent of 6 bags of shock. I took a water sample to the NH store and they said I need more chlorine. I told them that I put almost triple the amount and asked them to replace it and they said all sales are final. If you want to waste your money, go there. They also tried to sell me more chemicals. I had it tested at another pool company and they told me everything is perfect except the chlorine.

Last summer (2009), there was a rain storm and some winds though I thought not enough to shatter a table. The umbrella of the table was moved slightly but the table shattered into a million pieces everywhere. Not just below the table but all over the deck. If anyone was around, they would have been hurt. I heard it inside the house. I have not been able to replace just the table and could not replace just the glass for this table I was told. So I am left with 4 chairs and an empty shell of a table. It was very expensive to purchase. I would never buy this product again. Hopefully, others will beware of the danger.
