I would not purchase a Maytag in the future. The top oven does not work, and one of the burners is semi functional. Considering I have only have the oven about 5 years. I am not happy with the the product. In the future I would seek other options, Maytag is not on the list of products for consideration.

I have had my Maytag appliances for more than 14 years and they have worked perfectly throughout that time. They still look great, have been dependable and I have not needed any repairs. I would definitely recommend Maytag appliances.

It seems that the Maytag ovens have been good for the homes and a lot of people have used them in the homes for people to use for their baking and cooking food items in the ovens. A lot of people have thought they have been good for the food.

I bought this range Nov 2019, beautiful range that’s it. Stove top scratches very easily and hard to clean. Oven racks rust, got them replaced on the guaranty they still rust. Oven dirty never gets clean, If I could afford it I would on the curbside. I wouldn’t even give it away. 3 oven in 48 years of marriage, worst oven ever.... Sure would like a full refund, I mean 1500. What a ripoff.

The oven hasn’t caused any issues. It’s beautiful stainless steel and black finish creates a shiny but modest finish to my kitchen. It’s self cleaning power is also useful and saves time and where I come from time is money. It cooks food evenly just as an oven should.

Gas double oven - range that has performed well over 12 years old with only one service call for thermostat. Very inexpensive to repair and parts are readily available. Easily cleaned inside and out.

I wanted a small stove that did what a large/standard stove could do. I was worried that the heat would be weak but it cooks my food amazingly well. This stove has all the bling of a simple stove for a smaller price and size for my tiny house.

Replaced an old Glenwood gas stove with this Consumer reports top rated Maytag. The boiler doesn’t work as well as we’d like, but after more than 20 years, no major issues. My wife & I both cook, & as with most things, I’m happier with it than she is.

This range cooks evenly, producing satisfying results every time. It’s easy to use, simple to clean and serves me well daily. It has a double oven feature with a smaller oven on top which is not only convenient but energy-saving. The top features a cooktop which is easy to use and maintain. Never had a better cooking appliance!

I researched gas ranges for a few months before choosing our Maytag gas range - it was on sale when we ordered it and it arrived within a couple of weeks. We wanted to buy local and were successful with price matching the sale price. I would recommend this range as it functions great and we totally love the larger oven door.

Purchased my Maytag range/oven 14 years ago and it still works to this day. I had to replace both oven heating elements. I am a do it yourselfer, took me less than 5min to replace both. The cook top is easy to clean. As long as you take care of it, it should last you a long time.

The right front heating element works at the "high" position only. The over door's viewing glass is too fragile. It shattered while positioning the range. Otherwise, there are no other issues with electric range.

The stove functions are excellent and the temperature of the burners and oven causes the food to cook even. However after about 6 months the heat from the burners causes the coating on the stovetop to burn like it's baking and it can't be cleaned. Now the coating around the burners is horrible and burnt.

Had it for over ten years, had no problems. We don't use the oven too often but it is simple to operate and has served us well. Easy to clean, stainless steel like looks on the front goes well with our other appliances. Reasonably priced too.

I purchased a white Maytag gas stove over 12 years ago. It has been great and never caused any problems. I live alone and rarely use the oven. However, I use the stovetop daily for cooking. With continual use, it has a lot of nicks and scratches. It also has stains inside the glass oven panel that I can't clean. The glass would have to be removed in order to clean inside. This is why I give a rating of 4 stars. If I used the oven more frequently, I would notice if it had any problems with the temperature, proper cooking, etc. and could give a more accurate rating. I have small toaster oven and therefore, I cook practically all of my meals in the toaster oven.

I'm really happy with my range. The only drawback is that the upper oven/broiler is a little on the small side. The five burners on top are convenient for when I am cooking a large family meal on weekends and holidays.

I cook a lot so we wanted to purchase a double oven. We purchased this double oven about 10 months ago. Every day I complain about this range. It cooks very uneven. Called Maytag and they sent out a repairman who said I needed to preheat the oven for 25 minutes before putting my food inside. "Don't pay any attention to the beep, because when it says it has preheated but it really hasn't." To think you pay that kind of money for such a piece of JUNK!! Also, I have owned 2 other glass top stoves (the last one I owned for 23 years) and never had a scratch on the surface. There's already a big scratch on this new one. Glass top on this one is such poor quality. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

Never had a Maytag before I bought my house. So far the only complaint is there’s a broken piece that prevents the drawer from functioning. Otherwise, pretty good stove/range for the price. Do wish it was easier to clean without scraping anything up.

I am very pleased with the product, a perfect stove for cooking! It’s very easy to operate, easy to clean, multiple burners, excellent in cooking large meals, like soup, beef, Chicken and vegetable soup. It’s also very energy efficient, very safe to operate,

The range I have works awesome, which is surprising for an electric stove. For being 11 years old I am happy with how it is still holding up. The only thing I would improve is if it was a double oven instead of a single!

Oven worked ok for a year and went under right day after warranty expired. I called factory-approved repair people in Brooklyn but was told repair would cost more than buy new oven. I contacted factory but got no help either.

I love my gas stove. Mine is a five burner in white. Easy to clean and an accurate baking oven. Keeping the burner area clean IS a constant chore with a white surface. It would be lovely if the company made liners to catch the mess, but alas, I make my own with aluminum foil. This is an excellent stove and I’d buy it again! No buyer's remorse.

Overall, easy to clean, easy to use, simple operation. Problem is the knobs for each burner are loose. If we lean on them, even walk by and gently rub past knobs, they turn. Not slightly either. Gas can be turned on very easily by accident. Although we figured a way to secure knobs tighter, this is a serious flaw. We replaced the unit in time.

Range is 4 1/2 years old stopped working completely no vents or cooktop, serviceman found terminal block melted and wires burnt. Additionally the self clean function never worked properly around doors and would fog up the glass on the doors.

Purchase brand new range a couple of months ago. Self-clean oven does NOT self-clean and leaves weird, flakes of something that stick to oven floor. Burners are inconsistent and difficult to control heat level. Take forever to get warm, and then either boil over or won't get warm enough. Purchased this with inheritance from my mother - how sad! Always had such faith in Maytag.

Oven failed after 2.5 years of normal use (1-2x / week). Apparently a relay failed (and burned out bake element). Contacted service & parts dept and learned that repair would cost $100 for service visit and $413 to replace the control board. Only the $80 bake element is covered by the limited warranty. Wonderful oven if your hobby is appliance repair. After 2.5 years, it now functions better as a toilet than an oven.

I’ve had this new stove just over a week. Used 3 times (I just moved). I have cooked on staying already on the ceramic top. I’ve had a ceramic top stove for over 20 years with barely a mark in it. Terrible. I’ve left a message with the store with no reply.

I purchased a Maytag slide in range from Costco online in April 2020. Within three months a discolouration on the stainless top part of the range has happened. Costco has a ninety day period for repairs, or return on appliances. Pictures were provided to Costco at the request of Maytag. Upon review, Maytag’s response was, "This is a cosmetic issue and nothing we will repair." I am an extremely disappointed consumer who will NEVER purchase a Maytag product again.

First we design the cheapest, flimsiest drawer possible on the bottom of the stove. Then we mount it on cheap plastic guides on a flimsy metal track. What a joke! Listen, drawers have been around over 700 years. If you can't do better than that, you need to look for another line of work.

We bought this stove because of the self cleaning oven feature. What a ripoff! The Aqualift technology simply does not do the job that it is supposed to do. As the lady of the house says, "Self cleaning means clean it yourself". Whoever engineered this thing needs to go back to school. Adding insult to injury, we have adjusted the oven temperature to its highest and it still cooks so low that a cake has to be cooked for half as long again than the recipe calls for or the middle of it is still raw. We would like to sell the stove but would hate to burden someone else with this piece of junk.

Bought new glass top Maytag electric range. Only used oven 7 or 8 times when I was unable to close the door. Had to wait 12 days for Maytag repairman. Has to order new parts. Still without use of oven. Says it's a known problem the hinges holding the door aren't strong enough. Last stove 24 years old. Never had a problem.

Thankfully we didn’t buy this gas stove, it was here when we moved in. Just tried doing the aqua self cleaning, LOL! Just don’t. The grates on the stove top are awkward, bulky and HEAVY. Omg this POS is TRASH.

I bought a Maytag electric stove steam lift oven 2 years ago, I regret it. I baked a pie, and used the steam cleaning, it didn’t clean, my oven is still dirty. The top of the stove is not easy to clean and scratches very easily. It’s not my first stove, different brand, and I never had problem like I have now. I should have stayed with the brand I had before. My other regret, I should have read the reviews.

I take pride in my cooking and love my kitchen. As you know this is where everyone gathers when you are entertaining. The Aqualift system does not work. I have run the process 3 to 4 times consecutively in row and the inside oven the oven is never clean. I wipe out the sides over and over. So disappointed. The only saving feature is that you can not see into the horrible look of the inside the oven when it is closed. Was this feature really tested before it went to market????

WE bought all new Maytag kitchen appliances and the extended best service contract. Cost 1/2 of the cost of the appliances. This was 3 years ago. Recently dishwasher went blank. Service call was a factory neutral wire. Then ice maker replaced with a reman unit. Then we thought something was wrong with the oven cleaning system aqua lift. So after many hours and calls two service techs told us the system will not clean the oven and after many cycles it will not and the bad part is they are still selling this system to the public. Criminal. I think they should own up to the public when they do this kind of thing. On top of this I would go buy the self cleaning oven but the tech even said he will not use it because it will break and need replacement. It is no better other than you can use oven cleaner to clean the finish without the heating element and you cannot use anything that works on the aqua lift finish. Bad deal.

In my owner's manual, the description to replace the oven light shows a simple process of removing a glass bulb cover within the oven itself and then unscrewing the ordinary looking light bulb. However, Maytag made a design change and now uses a complete unit that combines the bulb, the glass cover and the bulb holder. This requires you to pull the stove out from the wall, open up the back of the oven, bend some retaining tabs around the light unit and then remove the whole unit.

If I could give this product -100 I would. Would never buy Maytag again. The Touch Pad melted, the oven works and the company guarantees the product for a year. THEY offered to send a technician, for me to pay and pay for the part $275 as well.

Oven door glass shatters after 6 years of having this oven and the company refuses to cover it. According to them it is not a safety concern. It is actually designed to shatter this way. Wow, that's comforting. Should be 0 stars not 1 star.

We just purchased a house with new appliances. They are Maytag. When I use my stove the oven heats. I have no idea why. I wondered if anyone else has had this problem. When I turn it off it turned off but it turns back on when the oven is on.

We bought the Maytag Aqualift cooktop about a year ago & are continuously dissatisfied with it, for several reasons: 1) the cooktop is a huge nuisance to cook on. The burners are either raging hot (causing boil-overs), or too cool to simmer. The boil-overs then require much cleaning with an expensive cleaning agent. 2) the oven, whether you use regular or convection, underheats - so you can’t tell how long the cooking or baking process will take, & you have to monitor the cooking process. 3) the so-called self-clean is a joke; the oven will not be clean unless you crawl inside & clean it manually. Overall, I’d prefer to toss this range in the trash. I’m a good cook, but I get angry every time I use this expensive, poorly- designed product.

Purchased this oven at Lowe's on 2/8/2018 for $1925. Worked good until my wife cleaned the lower oven on 11/22/2019. The next morning the oven was locked and nothing would work. We called for service and the repair bill was $194.55. I told the repairman that the oven had a 10 year warranty on it, one year on everything and the rest on the parts only. He said no, and showed me in the warranty book that it only covered two parts. Which was not the two parts he had to replace. If you purchase a oven with self-clean feature, I would recommend that you do not use it.

I had a stove my mom bought for me 26 years ago. Still worked perfect. Used constantly. In 2018 my husband had to have this stove. Said no my stove my mom bought and still works perfect sentimental plus three children using it. Not one problem. So he buys this Maytag stove I didn’t like but don’t cook much warming things up or frozen pizza. Go to our sons for holidays. Always next day cook a turkey for sandwiches. Open the door which is too heavy. Wouldn’t close and called my husband. Got it semi closed. Said we’re not eating it. He proceeds to cook. Door opened. More turkey is in garbage. My husband started reading. I also did. Looks like these Maytag stoves are garbage. Make a lot of money for repairs. Now this goes to dump. No one stands behind their products. Is it worth paying to repair no.

I purchased a Maytag gas stove. Right away I noticed the oven racks would sag in the middle pulling the back corners to pull away from sides dropping the rack down on top of rack below. I got a hold of Maytag and they sent me out a set of 3 new oven racks that were exactly the same as the ones I had. I have been fighting with them for years. I called Whirlpool today who make Maytag and was told it's off warranty and that I can order another set of oven racks at a cost to me. They would be the same as I have. The racks are so cheaply made and cannot stand even a few pounds. The finish on the stove also chips very easily. You rub a pan up against it and it scratches the white porcelain off. I spent a lot of money buying the dream gas stove I had thought, but only to be unsatisfied with my purchase. Buyer beware of Maytag products.

We have had our Maytag double oven for about 5 years. 18 months ago two of the burner knobs froze off. You cannot turn them. We had oven repaired - they replaced part WPW 10204705 - it cost us approx. $400 to repair. Here we are today and ANOTHER burner know has frozen in the off position. I will have to pay again to have this repaired. We are super disappointed with this over and with Maytag. We would never purchase from them again.

I purchased a Maytag electric slide in stove, in stainless steel. The aqua clean is a joke, ran it for three cycles after cooking one roast and it does not work. Then to add insult to injury I had to get on my knees using a turkey baster to remove what was left of the two cups of water. The finish on the front is coming off. Not at all what I expected from a 1500.00 range. Poor quality. Now there is the sound of a fan running and I am not using convection.

I would bought a Maytag Aqualift self clean oven. I just ran the clean cycle and it is just as dirty as it was before I ran the cycle. Absolutely nothing happened. Now I have the 2 cups of water at the bottom of my oven they said to put in prior to clean cycle, that I have to get in and clean out. This is absolutely unacceptable. I would like Maytag to get back to me asap and offer a solution. **.

Purchased a Maytag smooth-top range about a year and a half ago. I've only cooked frozen pizzas in it. Have only had it on six or seven times. Haven't used the top burners at all. It's an electric range, and I just had it hooked up a couple of months ago, as I was trying to find a place for it in the tiny kitchen. The folks who lived here before me, had a huge refrigerator and gas stove right next to each other, and I didn't want to go that route. Anyway, I went to put yet another frozen pizza in the oven, and the light doesn't work!

I am extremely dissatisfied with the Maytag Gas stove and oven. The setting are too high and you cannot simmer something, it burns. I tried the oven cleaner and my oven is still dirty. The burner knobs do not have a click feature. I came home to a house filled with gas. I was not using the top burners, so I must have brushed up against the burner knob while using the oven. I was only gone an hour, imagine if I had been gone longer and walked in the door and created a spark on the rug.

I’ve had my electric glass top range for four years. Normal use. I set the temperature to 425 degrees to bake a potato. At the 225 degree mark, the oven bursts into flames. The fire burned itself out in about a minute. I turned the oven off and immediately went to google to see happened. I’m pissed! This stove is only four years old!

I purchased this relatively expensive range and could not have imagined how dissatisfied I would be. The Aqualift cleaning technology does not work. There is no way to clean the oven door. They stress not to use oven cleaner, but as the Aqualift system does nothing to clean the oven door, there is no choice but to use oven cleaner, which they say will ruin the oven coating. Also, the grates are very heavy and it is impractical to clean the range top. I wish I had researched further; this product is a MAJOR disappointment.

My oven looks like it has never been cleaned. The self clean Aqualift does not work to clean your oven. If I would have known that this feature did not work for self cleaning I would never have purchased this oven. My old cheaper oven at least came clean on the self clean cycle. Now it seems I am going to have to scrub my self cleaning oven. What a waste of money. Will never purchase another Maytag appliance.

I purchased this Range about a month ago and would return it to the store if it wasn't such a hassle. The set of grates that came with had 1/4" drop from the center to front of stove. Whirlpool sent a new set; they were no better. Then customer service wanted to send a Tech out to see if the grates were out of spec. If they are out of spec they will replace. If not I will be charged $89 for a service call. Whirlpool customer service assured me their service rep would have new grates on his truck. So I drove to their service provider, he laughed and said imagine they want me to send a service Tech out to look at cooking grates and NO they don’t stock them. If you want a cooking surface that is level and does not SCRATCH BOTTOMS all your cookware.

I purchased a new electric oven/stove, dishwasher and over the stove microwave. My dishwasher didn’t work from installation and it took Maytag over a month and half to repair. My oven door hasn’t worked properly since purchased and finally broke and I have been without an oven for two weeks waiting on repair. The customer service does not listen to you and seem to be completely unconcerned about your problem. I was told the item broken was a common stocked item and the repair would be quick but that was not true. The repairman told me they would have my parts in a week and would install them on a Monday. They have now scheduled my repair for Thursday. Over two weeks with no working oven. I will never purchase a Maytag appliance of any kind due to the terrible customer service.

I have the Maytag Gemini Double oven 5 burner stove. It is great! I use the smaller oven more than the bigger oven. Holidays and cooking are a lot nicer with my range oven. The turkey can be cooking in the lower oven while pies are baking in the smaller upper oven. I have had my range for a while now but I have not once had a problem with it.

Major issues with the Aqua Lift Range. Takes forever to preheat the oven, 15-20 minutes to reach 375 f- 400 f. Aqua clean cycle not efficient and does not clean at all. The stove top is impossible to select and keep the heat consistent. When adjusting the heat up or down when you slightly move the dial it overreacts. When moved the heat sways may more than selected. The fridge works well but the bottom drawer is way too flimsy and it won't last a long time as it will crack. This is our first purchase of Maytag appliances and it will be our last. We bought a Maytag oven in Late October 2018. On January 22, 2019 the oven quit heating. Since it was still under warranty we called Maytag and they sent out a contracted service technician. The service tech said the circuit board had gone bad, and said it would be 5 to 10 days for part to come in. After a month the part still had not come and service tech was not returning calls. We called Maytag after another week and they provided very little help other than, "We will contact service tech." Service tech never called us nor did Maytag call back.

I had a problem with my 1 year old oven. I scheduled an appointment and no one showed up. So I fixed it myself. A week later they called to schedule an appointment and I told them that they were scheduled for last week. So their response was OK, I don't need them anymore - goodbye. The parts are under warranty so I send them the part I replaced myself and the invoice for the cost. I didn't get a response. So 3 months later I send a second letter. Three more months and still no response. I can remember when Maytag had commercials showing their repair sleeping because they had no work to do. Now, their products are failing and their entire service depart is asleep.

We had a Whirlpool stove/oven for many years, and it was finally time to trade it in. Everything about that unit was good. While shopping for another Whirlpool, the sales rep told us that Maytag and Whirlpool are one and the same. That we found, is false. An important feature for us in an appliance is the self cleaning oven. The Maytag oven had to be leveled four times after it was installed, in order for the self clean feature to function. The self clean part is only a small indented portion of the bottom of the oven, not the entire oven. And even that does not clean. After going through the dealership service about this problem, I contacted Maytag. My final frustrated summary to the rep was that I understand that we bought a lemon, and you are not going to help us in any way. I just want to say to anyone considering a Maytag stove and oven, raise your standard. If you choose Maytag, you will only be disappointed. I am.

This oven has been used so very seldom that I didn't feel I could rate it until now. We use the oven 1-2 times a week since purchasing it in March of 2018. There hadn't been any reason to use the Self Cleaning part of the oven until last week. I have had a oven with self-cleaning for 20 years and the oven went out so we purchased this one because of its sleek look and features. However last week I decided to use the self-cleaning setting on it and came home after being gone all day to find that the house smelled like it had a fire burning in it. I ran to the oven to find the whole inside cover in a white powdery substance. It looked like a snow blizzard had gone on inside of it. I was use to a small amount of white residue being inside the oven after it finished and it just wiped right up.

I bought this stove thinking of the Maytag repair man commercial that was advertised on TV for washing machines. Apparently Maytag only knows how to make washing machines (I did not buy one of their washing machines after my experiments with their stove). From day one the oven door never closed right, the self cleaning oven device had to be replaced 3 times over the year after have a repairman tell me that they all fail. I stopped using the self cleaning feature. This stove has cost me so much in repairs.

We purchased this double-oven range (model: MGT8775XW01) about 5-6 years ago. It came with some slight bubbling on the plate that the control knobs go through/are mounted onto. A few years later, the bubbling paint began to chip/peel off - revealing rust (it's a white range). I bought some touch-up paint, but that didn't look very good. Now that entire plate is bubbling and peeling and makes the whole range look like crap. My wife swears we'll never buy another Maytag product...EVER! She's ripped! I can't seem to find the replacement part to purchase. Lousy products!

Purchased a Maytag range with Aqualift technology in 2013 thinking it was a good brand and *happy* to find a new way to self-clean my oven. This turns out to be nothing but a joke and I am not *happy* with it. After following directions to the letter, there is some loosening of anything on the floor of the oven, but the sides and top are slowly being coated with more and more grease.

Whirlpool owns Maytag and it appears that selling poorly made products is now their focus. When I purchased this Maytag 30" Gemini double oven range, I thought I was buying a superior product. Now, I am on my 3rd repair. When would it fail, on Christmas Eve morning when I am trying to prepare dinner for 20 people who are coming for dinner party. I paid too much for this piece of junk. From now on, I am buying from the scratch and dent sale because there are no quality appliances manufactured today. Buy cheap and it won't irritate you so much because no one especially Whirlpool owned companies focus on quality.

We have owned this range for a little over a year. Oven will not hold correct heat. Have temperature sensor replaced under warranty. Did not make any difference. You can adjust temperature up or down according to actual temperature readings, but the temperature swings so much that it is worthless to try. Very hard to get food baked right.

Purchased a Maytag Electric Range on Jan/9/2016 and delivered Jan 12/2016. To start the Aqua Steam clean is for the birds. Does not clean worth a darn. Model MER8600DH cost $823.33 and I thought this unit was awesome until December 2018. The oven makes loud bangs and it’s not metal contracting or whatever. I stopped using my oven. Tonight my top burner started snapping like an arc or short. Yup that’s it for me. I was thinking of buying a Maytag Gas Range as I was brought up on gas and I have a plumber coming this weekend to plumb for Natural Gas but after reading all the negativity on the gas ranges as well I absolutely will not be buying a Maytag now or ever! I expected more from Maytag. :(

Oven is not even 2 yrs old but, the bottom oven floor lining is crackled & flaking. Although they say the cavity is covered under the 10 yr warranty, they say it's not covered. Basically told me there's nothing they can do for it. I bought all Maytag appliances for my new home because they claim they stand behind their product. The 10 yr plaques on the appliances are a joke. So disappoint.

Angie from WFCC-PREFERRED APPLIANCE REPAIR had the wiring harness delivered to her personal address and then came out and installed it that same afternoon past 5pm to ensure I had a working stove. She explained what had happened with the parts delivery mixups and also delivered a $100 gift card. Very happy to have my range working and all has turned out well. I am a long time Maytag customer and it's great to have all my appliances back.

If I can rate the AquaLift Technology oven cleaning system that my Maytag oven has as a “Zero”, I would. This technology only removes some of the spills on the bottom of the oven. It does not clean the sides or top of the oven. I’m back to the olden days of using a lot of elbow grease to remove splatters and spills. They say you cannot use any cleaners in the oven either. At least with the old ovens you can spray an oven cleaner and wipe it clean. This product has taken us back before there were spray oven cleaners!

I thought I was safe in buying Maytag for all of my appliances in my new kitchen. I bought a double wall oven Maytag MEW6630DDS. I bought it in late 2010 and have had no issues until August of 2018. I rarely use the bottom but used it in August of this year to cook cupcakes. After baking them and leaving the kitchen for a short while I heard a loud explosive, shattering sound. I walked to the kitchen to see that the bottom oven door had shattered into a million pieces. Thank the good Lord that I was not near it. I contacted Maytag to see if there was a reason it would have done this. They said that there had not been a recall. They sent a repairman at no cost to look at it. He came, took it apart and had no reason for why it would have done this. He left it in pieces and said that he was ordering the replacement door. Maytag advised us to turn off the breaker to the oven.

OK, I'm at wit's end. I bought a very expensive Maytag Gemini range four years ago. Since then, I have replaced 10 burner valves. There are only five of them. They have each been replaced twice, and tonight yet another has broken. This time it is broken in the ON position, which means I can't have the range on without that burner on. It means unplugging it when not in use and lighting the burner with a match when I re-plug the stove, until I get it fixed. I had just replaced valve number 10 on Tuesday, and had a fully working range for only 5 days. These valves are under warranty but the labor is not, and it is always close to $200 to have someone come out to replace them. I can't afford a new stove and I can't afford to keep having these defective valves replace.

I bought this range (Gemini Double gas range) in 2010 but was not installed in my house until 2011 due to time delays in kitchen re-model. I paid $1310.00. It was serviced 3 times once under warranty. About a year ago the igniter went in one of the ovens for the second time and one of the stove burners wouldn't light. Since the other oven and 3 other burners worked we didn't call for repair, then a second burner stopped working and we called our Maytag dealer. 2 different service techs came one with more experience and both said the same thing the stove wasn't worth fixing due to cost of parts. One of the problems was the screws in the burners couldn't be removed due to rust and deterioration of the screws. They would break and cost other components also to be needed. So after 7 years of use and already having repairs done I have to buy a new stove. It will not be a Maytag.

This is my first convection oven. It is a double oven and I am hooked for life. I love the smooth top and use the convection daily. The only small issue I have is that the touch buttons on the range are on the harder side to push. But other than that, I have owned this for 5 years or more and would only get the same type again if I had too.

Purchased Maytag Double Range MGT8720DH00 in March 2015. Within 2 months had to call gas company due to leak and service came out to fix it. Now anytime my house is closed up during a vacation or extended period away I come home to a locked range with a warning message to check to make sure that the knobs are off. Had gas company (who also called fire department) to come out tonight after returning from vacation with same issue again. They tested and said CO2 was ok, but to check reviews for similar ranges and I have seen repeated issues in reviews for Maytag products. The firemen all commented when they saw that it was a Maytag so it seemed like they have seen these issues before. Very scary to think we could be exposed to a constant low level gas leak in our home. Keeping windows open at all times is not a realistic option.

18 month old range did not shut off although it showed off on the cancel page. $800 down the toilet. Maytag had the guts to charge $100 to troubleshoot plus parts and labor. I will donate it to scrap metal. Company does not give a rat's behind. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG.

CONSUMER BEWARE: Maytag is the WORST corporation to deal with. We have purchased a Maytag range from them recently. Unfortunately we have had 4 appliances delivered to us damaged from Maytag. The fourth time around we finally got a supervisor on the line. In order to expedite the situation. And the supervisor (Frank) refused to expedite or even call to try and move up the 5th delivery date. All he talked about was Maytag company policies to us. To make a long story short and I do mean long. Buyers beware. Maytag DOES NOT HOLD THEMSELVES ACCOUNTABLE FOR ANYTHING. Once the appliance leaves their facility they are not responsible for it. I CAN'T SAY THIS ENOUGH. DON'T PURCHASE MAYTAG PRODUCTS.

Stove does not heat evenly in oven. Electric burner cannot be turned down to low or simmer, then it will not cook at all. Other burner turned down to low does not stop bubbling and stays at a high temp. There is no consistency. I am extremely disappointed and curse at this stove every day. Model #MER7664XB. My Daughter got me a Maytag oven with the AquaLift technology and is a piece of Junk. Half the time the Water is still there when the cycle is over. The water has made it between the front glass pieces and the finish on the top of the stove looks horrible, it just looks dirty. The knobs are cheap and the fake chrome finish is flaking off. Unfortunately I'm stuck with it because I can't afford a new one... this was a gift to me because I'm disabled and it was to make my life easier.

My Maytag AquaLift Range MGR8880AS0 was given to me in September 2014. While the range top was excellent and gave me no problem, the so-called "self-cleaning" is a total joke. I do not do a lot of grease baking or broiling so I have not needed to clean the oven only twice. The first time was a total surprising astonishment. When I opened the oven immediately after the cycle was completed, the oven was not even 350 degrees, most of the water was still in the oven! This happened shortly after a family crisis (my husband became ill and died), so I did not do any inquiries regarding the cleaning failure. Today, January 24, 2018 I decided I would do my second cleaning. Wow, it was a total and complete failure. The oven was barely warm.

The ceramic coating on the interior of the oven cavity in the top oven, which I use the most (may actually happen to the lower oven in time) has cracked in the exact pattern of the hidden element. When I spoke to the salesperson at the store, he wasn't surprised and said that it will eventually bubble and rust!!! Called customer service and was informed they consider this an aesthetic issue with no fix!!! They will not offer any remedy or compensation. Are you kidding me!!!

I purchased a Maytag Gemini April 22 2017 and I am very unhappy with it. The ovens are not working properly. I have thrown away so much food because the ovens won’t hold temperature. The display says it’s the temp. I set it but the temp keeps dropping and rising causing the bottom and top to burn and inside not to cook. Both ovens are doing it. Had a repairman come day before Christmas. He said there is nothing wrong. He said set temp, when preheat beep goes off wait 15 minutes for it to cycle then insert food. I tried this Christmas Day. Oven is still not working and again I threw away more food. I am so disappointed in Maytag. Serviceman is set up again to come out next week. I think I got a lemon. Please. I think they should replace the whole range. It’s not fair. I paid so much for this range and can’t use it.

We finished a kitchen tear out and full remodeling. From top to bottom adding the Maytag double oven insert into our cabinets. We checked out reviews and MANY stated that the oven's fans were LOUD! But we've had them now for 4 months and the reviews do NOT give an accurate account in my opinion. My wife loves using the ovens for all sorts of cooking and baking projects and the units are NOT LOUD at all. You'd have thought from what we read about the ovens that we were making a bad purchase but that's not the case. Quiet, even cooking and a GREAT PURCHASE. If your ovens are loud when cooling something must be wrong! Or maybe we got LUCKY!? I don't think that's the case at all but then I haven't used other's ovens only ours and we are pleased!!! 5 STAR for sure.

Such a horrible and expensive kitchen purchase. The stainless looking pieces are either fake or very poor quality - they scratch so easily. After the first year of use the top of the stove looked like it was 30 years old. The oven glass is extremely hard to get at to clean - you have to remove very finicky screws that don't go back into place easily. Oven temp is questionable and it takes a very long time to heat up. I would never recommend the Maytag Gemini oven to anyone.

Purchased the Maytag Aqualift self-cleaning oven and this feature doesn't work at all. I would have never have made this purchase if I knew the oven would not self clean. This technology with the water in the bottom to self clean is pathetic! I thought maybe it wasn't working and called for a repair since it was under warranty. The service man told me not to expect it to clean like a regular self-cleaning oven. But I complained that it did nothing at all! So now I have a self-cleaning oven that I have to clean myself!

I purchased a gas range from Lowe's - Maytag- Model #MGR8880AS in 2012. The range has been repaired on multiple occasions 11/2016; 3/2017; 5/2017. All three times they replaced the igniter and burner. On one occasion they replaced the computer board as well. (Each time they have informed me that this part was a recalled problem and under warranty). The stove is now out of warranty and having same issue. The stove fills with gas and the igniter does not ignite and does so intermittently. Maytag only wants to send repair company out at my expense. They need to replace the stove, because someone somewhere will die because of their product. I will purchase a new stove and not from Maytag. (All my appliances are Maytag). I also have a copy of my receipt and will provide if needed; I used my extended warranty through Lowe's each time. I urge everyone not to purchase Maytag appliances.

Wish I had reviewed Consumer Affairs reports. When our old Maytag stove required repairs we decided to upgrade old stove instead of putting money into old unit. Looks like a huge mistake. Not only was there a delay in receiving unit after placing order but oven will not preheat. Two weeks before Thanksgiving we were promised a working unit. Now we are only 2 days from Thanksgiving, 2 repair companies have been at home to repair. Requires new circuit board and a new regulator to repair and no promise we can obtain parts. Now I have to figure out how to feed my family for holiday. I am pretty well done and after reading other reports that they are better in junkyard I think I will try to make them take back this defective Model 8800 product. Sitting in our kitchen unusable for the holidays. Don't buy Maytag as customer service does not exist.

So far, so very good. This is the first time owning/using an electric oven. I just love my Maytag. It was affordable, especially since it was a combo sale with the over-head matching microwave from Home Depot. Two years later and it's as if I just purchased it. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.

I've had my Maytag oven for about 5 years and the oven and burners are still working perfectly. The problem is the light bulbs. One of the light bulbs has a rickety connection because I have to keep twisting the bulb every time I turn it on to keep the light on. My other light bulb burned out and I'm not replacing it because I'm concerned the problem is in the electrical part where I screw it in, not the bulb itself, so I'm leaving it off and am using the other annoying bulb and I installed a lamp under the counter to compensate for the missing light from the other stove bulb. The most important part of the oven are the cooking features so even though the bulb situation is annoying, it cooking features perform well.

This oven isn't even worth talking about. Just don't buy it. I used to bake a lot, but my recipes don't turn out anymore. My old oven was much easier. I don't know what the problem is, but I suspect it is oven temperature. The door also sticks. I have only had this a year and am ready to junk it.

Echoing the sentiments of others on this site, I am deeply disappointed in Maytag brand appliances manufactured by the Whirlpool Corp. When, for the first time in my life, I was able to buy all brand new kitchen appliances, I didn't even consider any other brand but Maytag. This was based on many decades of using Maytag products and watching my mother use them. I come from a big family so our appliances got used hard, and the Maytag brand ones worked year after year, decade after decade with little or no maintenance. To put it quite frankly, my new Maytag products are junk. I could supply a whole laundry list of problems but, in the interest of space, will just tell about the latest.

We purchased a $945 Maytag 6.4 Cu. ft. self-cleaning freestanding electric convection range which was part of the stainless-steel package for $3600 + a $600-dollar 5 warranty. I did the research and found a solid 4.0 rating, so I went for it. Now I wish I never wasted my money and time. My 5-year warranty for all 4 appliances expired on 8/17 and now everything starts failing, how convenient. The oven will not heat past 340-350 degrees which won’t work with 90% of the stuff I bake. I called Maytag to see if it can be fixed and was quoted $400 for the issue but nothing else. I can pick up a new stainless-steel oven with the save features on a holiday sale for $500. Don’t waste your money on warranties!

I purchased the Maytag 6.5 inch electric convection oven about 2 years ago. I wish I hadn't. The oven temp is way off, it cooks unevenly, the back burners hardly work, and the back burners on the stove top barely work, the knobs get stuck constantly, the self cleaning does not work, and the glass part of the door allows dust to get trapped in the glass. The range is $800+ piece of junk, best used at the scrap yard.

Great stove for the price. The oven bakes good, the self-cleaning oven is awesome, the top is easy to clean up and regulating the temperature is so easy.

Mine is the Chrome Maytag four-burner cooktop model. About $700. I installed it with ease. After two years there are only one or two slight scratches. It sees full meals for two cooked daily. The grate is first class and looks new, the top itself is easy to clean with a damp soapy cloth and mineral oil. There is easily enough BTU power for any size of pro pan. The igniters are healthy and fine and a repair would be easy.

Please Do NOT purchase the Maytag Aqua Lift Gas Range. It does not clean anything, you will pay more money for a cleaning oven that does not clean any grease or droppings if you cook. This is not an Oven for any one, or family that cooks large meals or has gatherings. I had the technicians at my house over 4 times and they confirmed that this oven is not a self cleaning oven. It doesn't get hot enough as your self cleaning ovens. And MAYTAG did not want to hear anything, basically not clean much, but advertised as a self cleaning oven. Having been a Maytag customer for years I will never buy a Maytag product again. And we need to support American made, but not when the consumer is misled.

After using my GE Profile to death we replaced it with a Maytag; mostly for the cost. Although I hate to admit this, remember the old saying you get what you paid for - Well it's true at least in the case of this Maytag oven. I am a constant cook and own a bakery, I often bake many of my products at home. Since getting this oven I have had nothing but failures. The cakes are over done, underdone, cookies burnt, not cooked enough; my time frame for recipes is so off! I wrote a cook book and have baked for years so I know for a fact it's not some miraculous mishap that all of a sudden I can't bake. I've had them come calibrate the oven but still no success.

I am very dissatisfied with this Maytag Gemini oven I've had it for 4yrs. It has been in the shop twice for the same problem. Temperature control. It is down again for the same thing temperature control. The repairman, who I had to look at it, says the bill will be over $500.00. I paid $1300.00 for this stove. I can't afford to put any more money in this stove. I had to pay $100.00 for repairman to tell me this. The model # met8665xw02 serial#D30522404. Is there a recall on this stove? There should be. I sold Maytag products for several years at Circuit City. I always pushed Maytag instead of another brand. I believed in Maytag. The repairman hasn't been "lonely" to me.

I have had my stove since 2004. A problem I have had was when I asked it to clean the ovens, it quit working all together. A service person was called. Also sometimes when I turn on one burner, another one will turn on instead. Yesterday I turned on a burner to low, and it did not turn on at all.

The ranges are getting great but are more so with digital than buttons and knobs which they should still have, especially for the handicapped and some elderly who prefer them. It would help prevent injuries. It was hard for me to find the knobs.

I bought this after having a Frigidaire for 40 years and was immediately disappointed upon installation. This OVEN, not a range, was smaller inside and a lot of new pans would not fit! I have replaced the burners and the bulb wiring several times. Would not buy another one!

I read some of the reviews on the Maytag ovens. I too have the same problems! Have had control panel replaced and still have to set at 400 if I need to bake at 350. It also takes forever to preheat. Trust this review because I am one very unhappy consumer!! DO NOT buy Maytag!!

After 2 years the oven didn't work. I had a repair fix it for $500 but if I wanted the convection to work it would cost another $800. Obviously not worth it. Now the oven needs to be set at 400 if I want then actual temperature to be 350. Now the latest - the racks are too small and falling! I just put my Le Creuset in the oven and the rack fell. Splashed everywhere! This happened at Christmas with my turkey. So bought the fridge - everything in the back freezes. Never ever buying Maytag again. I'm guessing the Maytag repairman isn't lonely anymore.

I purchased the Maytag double-oven gas range, Model MGT8775XS, in 2013. The quality of this double-oven stove cannot be understated. Performance? Terrible. Reliability? Awful. My experience was shocking because when I was a kid, Maytag was the ideal for quality and reliability. Those days are over. When delivered in 2013, the ovens did not work. Heating went to 200 degrees and stopped. During the next three years, we had this Maytag stove repaired four times. The most recent repair was in October 2016. A new regulator and igniter cost us $360. Four weeks later you guessed it the ovens stopped working yet again. We sent the Maytag stove to the recycle dump. It's far more valuable as scrap metal.

We bought this stove in 2014. One knob got stuck while my teenager was cooking food on the gas stove. He called me at work worried because he couldn't turn it off. My husband left work right away to go home. We thought it was just a bad plastic knob. Now a second knob is stuck in the on low position. There is a third knob that feels hard to turn. That will be 3 burners. This is ridiculous. It's a safety hazard. We consumers have to worry if the house will burn down, get CO2 in the air, and if our family and children are safe. We thought Maytag was a good appliance. I will not buy another Maytag. They should recall this stove top/oven. I have read so many of the same complaint on this website as well as online in general. I can't believe they continue to sell this with this much of a safety issue. Please take it off the market.

Should have read reviews. I'll never buy another Maytag. This stove has been bad almost from start. Stove has burned marks from using "broil". Repairman told me not to use broil anymore. One of "eyes" has been worked on 2 times; the knob does not work correctly; when you turn off, it goes past the "off" and keeps on going to the left. It is very hard to clean surface. I have had a few years. Company paid for one repair. They should have replaced stove from beginning. Not safe.

Maytag AquaLift Oven #YMER8880BW - The aqualift technology does not clean the oven. It is sorely inadequate. I bought Maytag because of its reputation. This range should be recalled as should all their ranges with this useless technology. Buyers BEWARE! Do not purchase any range from Maytag which advertises Aqua Lift technology. This purchase has soured your reputation Maytag. I also purchased a fridge with the stove. I will NEVER buy a Maytag product again. I also would like to ask frustrated and disenchanted readers how they are getting their ovens cleaned. What product(s) can be used. Maytag - complete FAIL!!

We purchased our Maytag gas range in 2015. Within 6 months we noticed the clear coat and paint was defective, we called Sears, they allowed us another range top and replaced it but told us our warranty was up in a month and they would not replace another. The stove always looks dirty because the clear coat and paint have bubbled up and it is clearly a 100% manufacturing defect that should be recalled.

I have Maytag Model MGT8885XS03 Gas Range. I bought it in Nov 2013. The surface burner valves, which regulate the gas flow, are a bad design. One valve got stuck and needed replacement within first 13 month. Then another valve got stuck about a year ago and the third one got stuck today Nov 19. So far I spent $400.00, just for 2 of them and the last one has not being replaced yet. This is a safety issue, because it always happen when the stove is on and will not turn off. I need Maytag to replace my stove because I am afraid this will burn my house down. I bought Maytag because they always advertise as quality product, and now I have to live with the nightmare of burning my house down.

I purchased a Maytag gas range in the past few weeks with Aqua Lift Cleaning System. I have only cooked once when grease spattered on the walls and floor of the oven. I have used the Aqua Lift Cleaning System 5 (five!) times and the grease is still there and very sticky. This system clearly does not do what it was supposed to do. I was fortunate to have bought the appliance where I could return it; however, it has been quite a hassle and I will have to pay an additional $100 to have the old one removed and the new one installed! I feel like Maytag should reimburse me the $100 because it is obvious to me now that I have found hundreds of reports of people not being satisfied with this feature.

My four year old Maytag stove blew out the lower heating element in the oven. The model number is MER8880AW. I removed seven small screws to confirm what the problem was and remove the element. That is a short life span for a stove element. My wife checked our paperwork and thought it indicate the part was covered on the 10 year warranty. Called Maytag at 9 AM and went through the press numbers thing, being put on hold, call dropped, told they were not open twice, etc. Finally got a person to talk to at 2:45 pm. Yes the part is covered under warranty, but no they will not give me the part.

I have Maytag Model MGT8885XS03 Gas Range. I bought it in 2014. The surface burner valves, which regulate the gas flow, are a bad design. One valve got stuck and needed replacement within warranty. Then another valve got stuck about a year ago and the third one got stuck about a month ago. I am going to replace these two valves now. My friend, who is helping me replace, has similar gas range. He also needs to replace a valve. His range is about a year old.

Our product was purchased with our Condo. We have had it for 6 months & the first time I called someone was for the oven door being so terribly hot. I was told that was normal. Then I tried the cleaning of it & you would never know anything had been done. It would take a heck of a lot of elbow grease to get the marks off & I don't have the strength or time to be doing that. I had someone come again & he said to do it again, which I did & it still was not clean. I have done it a 3rd time now & still no better. I think this product is a total piece of junk & would not recommend it to anyone. I am a very unhappy customer & will never purchase another MAYTAG product.

I just bought my Maytag Range model #MGR8700DS2 in August 2016. Bought Maytag because I always thought it was one of the best with the best warranty around. Now I am not so sure. After using it the first time, found that when you are baking anything in the oven the burner control knobs get very hot. That is because they designed the knob area to be right above where the heat vents out from the oven door. The knobs get so hot that you almost burn yourself if you touch them. This is a bad design in my opinion especially if you have any kids around. Even the sides of the oven get way too hot. This is also bad because of the tight spacing to your cabinets. I contacted Maytag about this and got a "OH WELL" kind of reply to my problem. You bought it and you are stuck with it. I would not recommend buying this model to anyone.

We purchased a Maytag electric convection oven with a warming drawer 3 months ago. We have been happy with the cooking features, but not the Aqualift self-cleaning. It does not work and Maytag does not acknowledge this. Instead they have offered cleaning products to us which their own instructions tell you not to use! Does this sound like a self-cleaning oven? They have offered to send out a service person to check the temperature. However, from reading multiple reviews by others, there will likely be no satisfaction from this company.

We purchased a wall oven model MEW7530DE 11/8/2014 which was installed the first part of December 2014. From the beginning the temp was not constant and everything baked was either burned or under baked. The first repairman said the control panel was faulty and was replaced four months after purchase, the problem continued. After three more repairmen all from different companies concluded they could find no problem and that's just how ovens work now. We contacted the owner of Hamilton's Appliance, where the oven was purchased, and requested a replacement oven which was accomplished December 2015.

Purchased this double oven back in 2012 and have had to have the control valves replaced twice because of them jamming and snapping. The burners are undersized for cooking and it takes forever to get water to a rolling boil. The broiler in the upper oven needs constant attention when using it because food cooks unevenly and burns quickly. The lower oven is great, convection is awesome. I have seen the Maytag repairman more from my stove than I have for any of the other appliances I owe combined. Maytag should stick to appliances that only use water.

I purchased this new a year and 4 months ago and have had nothing but issues. We thought it cooked slow or cooked high/low but couldn't be sure if we were just imagining it until we had family come down at Christmas and complain about how slow the top burners are and why is it taking so long to boil water. Then again family for Easter where they cooked three days in a row and they complained that our top oven either burns or under-cooks the food which we had noticed but presumed we just mistimed a lot of food. Just recently the bottom oven won't heat past 350 and just constantly says preheating. The top oven followed suit shortly after. Nothing past 350.

This review is for a Maytag Gemini MGT8775XW 30 Freestanding Double-Oven Gas Range w/ 5 Burners. I cannot believe the amount of problems I have had from this $2000+ range. Within just a few weeks of getting it, the paint started scratching off the surfaces nearest the heat. Then, the plastic cover over the digital display and controls bubbled up due to the heat of the broiler being in use. They designed it so that the heat escapes from the oven right in front of the control panel, so when you want to adjust temperatures on the control panel, you chance getting burnt from the hot air every time.

I purchased this at Home Depot October 2013. The oven heats well. I like the "upper and lower" oven feature. The broiler works fine. I rarely cook using convection. The self-cleaning feature, to this date works fine. Dislikes - the stainless is cheesy and scratches easily. The knobs on the front are of poor quality and the cook top stains easily and does not come clean. Disturbing - the gas cook top has come on twice with simple bumps and gone unnoticed for a period of time. Usually, you hear the clicking with the gas turning on, but not always.

We purchased a complete suite of Maytag kitchen appliances in September 2014 for $4300. We have had problems with every single piece. Yesterday we needed to clean the oven for the first time as we boiled over a pan of lasagna. Got out the instructions to how to use the "Aqua Lift" cleaning system. Found out that "Aqua Lift" is marketingese for "boy did we build a lot of profit margin into this oven by not putting a REAL self-cleaning unit into it." Instructions are to pour 2 cups of water into the bottom of the oven and press "clean." It heats up the water to about 150 degrees for 40 minutes. Guess what? YOU do all the work of cleaning out the oven. If I had wanted a non-self-cleaning oven, I would have bought a $400 basic stove instead of this bogus $969 stove. Will never buy Maytag again. We were taken advantage of.

Maytag Glass top model #MER8600DHO. I bought it because it got good consumer reviews. This is supposed to be a self clean oven but the steam system in this model is not very effective. It doesn't clean the oven. Would never buy a range again with this oven cleaning system. I wanted to try a glass top stove but wish I hadn't. It is harder to clean and the glass scratches. I really don't like the self clean oven system in this stove - it flat out doesn't work and it takes a lot of elbow grease to clean the oven. The oven however seems true to temperature and does a good job. Overall I am Ok with this stove but wouldn't purchase a glass top again.

Dual oven - one is a convection oven. Never used the bottom drawer so that was wasted on previous range. I purchased a white appliance to match my others. The white stove top is a pain. Too bad it wasn't black. I checked this model online and found a good price in the city. I contacted the local Home Depot and they did a price match less 10% - all a bonus. The ovens work great although I have not tried the self clean. I have read that similar models have problems related to the self clean feature - high heat and circuit boards. My plan is to have a fan directed at the top of the stove when I use it and the range hood fan going. The convection oven is great - hard to mess up a recipe with that. The dual ovens are truly a great feature - strongly recommend. The keep warm is great also - nice to have two things cooking at the same time. That being said - the bottom oven is low, but that is worth the extra cooking space.
