Water saver feature is horrible. Never enough water. Doesn't get anything clean, even if you soak it overnight. I am buying a new washer and it won't be a Maytag.

This Maytag Bravos HE machine has the poorest design! It doesn't use enough water on the normal cycle so I always have to use the bulky load just to get the clothes wet. The old washers used to spin the water out thus keeping the load even. This machine drains the water first and then tries to spin an uneven load! When this happens the machine bangs loudly from side to side, stops, refills with more water and starts the whole process again until it fixes its problem or until you go shake out the entire load and reposition everything. Then it uses more water to start the process all over again. It takes twice as long to do a load of laundry.
Every time I use it I say "I hate this machine!" This machine should have never been released without extensive testing. Maytag could have figured out all of their own problems and fixed them so we wouldn't be writing all of these bad reviews. A recall should have been done years ago and the problems all fixed. I will never buy Maytag again!

I have owned this washer for 3 years and purchased it to match the Centennial Dryer and because of its "advertised" commercial grade components. The washer has just now turned 3 years old and has never been abused but I have been told the drum bearings are going out.

After only 3 yrs of normal 2 person family use my Maytag washing machine completely failed. The ball bearings in the transmission seized requiring the replacement of the transmission. At the same time the control panel failed yielding the machine completely unusable. The repair cost was more than originally payed for the machine, forcing me to purchase a new one (not a Maytag). Maytag said since there was no recall on this model that they could not help me. I bought the Maytag because of their claim of quality. This was not my experience either with the product, or the customer service.

Have a Bravo Quiet Series 300, does not clean clothes because on not enough water to wash with. Have to set it on "Bulk" to have it clean good enough. The way it agitate and rotate the clothes turns the wash into knotted pretzels (this also makes it harder to clean the clothes) which in turn makes the spin cycle vibrate badly. Cannot put wash in and leave because of this.

So disappointed in Maytag - I have a 2013 Bravos washing machine that if I had it repaired again (less than a year after I had it repaired the first time and just over two years since we brought it home) the cost is going to two times the purchase price. And because it is just out of warranty Maytag is doing nothing about it, even though they know there is a flaw in their design.

MHW60X - I experienced a problem in May of 2015, and the repairman told me it was the master board, and he has seen this many times. He said that the MCU board goes out after 3.0 - 3.5 years!! This is exactly how old my machine was! The cost to repair this was almost what the machine cost, and this is unacceptable. I have had Maytag washers my entire adult life, and my prior one lasted approximately 20 years, but after this I am not sure I will consider another one in the future. To have a major part burn out soon after the warranty expires should not happen.
I contacted customer service to find out the experience and reported problems on this model, but could not obtain any information, other than they have received calls about this model. I asked Maytag to reimburse me for the part - at a minimum, and they refused stating it was out of warranty and they could do nothing. Apparently they do not care about their reputation anymore, which is sad, since they used to be so well regarded!

Well I have the washer and dryer. I love the dryer, it is excellent! Now on to the washer. It tries to save water so I guess people in California would love it. I have a laundry room in the basement and one up on the top floor with the Bravos in it. I only do the clothes that are not dirty but a little smelly in the Bravos. Any clothes that are dirty I do in my 20 year old machine in the basement. Do not purchase this machine if you are under 5'6" because you will need a step stool. Everything I wash I do on the longest cycle because the other cycles do not get all the clothes wet. Think about what I just said. The machine does not get all the clothes wet. Do not purchase this machine. I really cannot call it a washing machine, but they look real pretty in the laundry room.

I purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer in October of 2011, I had a repair man come to check it since the spin cycle sounds like a jet is revving its engines in the laundry room. He told me that the repair cost is $493.50 to replace the transmission. The machine also has problems with the circuit board. The lid lock goes on and off and on and off so you cannot run the machine. Speaking to Maytag they just kept saying your warranty is over and we don't offer any assistance on the repairs. The machine cost $530.00 in 2011 and they think it's reasonable to have repairs more than the cost of a new washer. They said they had no complaints on the model. My repairman advised not to buy Bravo, Cabrio or Calypso models since they all have the same problem with the transmission and electronics. I think they should at least pay for the parts, the transmission is $300. And we didn't even price the electronic part of repair.

Owned my Maytag Maxima front loading HE washer for just under 2 years. Went to turn it on one day and got an error code that I later found out meant the computer board went bad (a very costly expense). I called Maytag and explained that a $1200 washing machine should last more than 23 months and if they stand behind their products they should do something to cover this repair. Even after speaking to a manager they told me too bad they couldn't help me. But they would be happy to sell me a $350 extended warranty.... Never again Maytag/Whirlpool!

I purchased this washer on 5-25-15. It was delivered on 6-2-15. It worked for 11 days. On the 13th, I called Maytag and made an appointment for it to be fixed. They said a technician would be out on the 16th to fix it. I got a call on the 15th saying the part they needed was not released yet so they would be out on the 23rd. The guy comes on the 23rd and diagnoses the problem. He says the machine has a bad motor and shock of all shocks. He doesn't have the part to repair it. They originally assumed it was something else and were wrong. Fantastic. He said he would be back on the 30th. I got a call on the 29th saying that, once again, the part needed to fix it was not released and that they would call me to make another appointment when it was available.
I had enough. I originally purchased with Home Depot and called my original salesman. He told me he would replace the washer with any brand I wanted (I paid the difference in cost of course) but I was still relieved that he was willing to work with me. I ended up going with an LG. Lets hope that one works. I have 2 kids and have been having to go to the laundromat. I have to say that I loved the machine for the 11 days it worked! I would probably still have it if they had better customer service but I'm not going to continue to put up with them not having what's needed to fix this thing.

I had a repairman come out. All he did was take out the trouble shooting guide, press a code, and wait. The machine told him that each function worked. Even though it did not work properly. He hid the trouble shooting guide inside the machine, so I cannot get to it. Now I have so many problems with this machine, that it takes me all day to do 1 load. I hate this washer and I'm very saddened that Maytag will not come out - told me that they had to find someone. There was no one in the area that could fix my washer. It has been nearly a week now and no response from them. I'm going to have to buy another washer. I am so upset to spend nearly 800 some dollars on a brand new washing machine and it does not work. This washing machine worked great for just under 3 years. I noticed it wasn't draining completely. Per my appliance repair guy, the bearings were shot & it was going to cost over $300 to fix it. Called Maytag because my owner's manual stated I had a 10 yr warranty. Wrong. The warranty only covers the wash basket & the drive motor. Look on Maytag's Facebook page & you will see pages & pages of complaints on all of their appliances. Refrigerators, washers, dryers, if it's got a Maytag name on it, it's broken. Many of these appliances worked for only a year out two before they bit the dust. I went to Maytag's fb page & ranted about their poor quality products & Maytag's refusal to stand behind their products.
Know what happened? They sent me an email stating that they'd reviewed my case yet again & there was nothing they would do. Then they blocked me on fb. Yep. Please please before you buy any Maytag/Whirlpool/KitchenAid product, please don't! Save your money & buy another brand. All Maytag will do is send you a form letter telling you they understand your frustration & you can email them your info, they'll investigate & get back with you. When (if) they respond they'll tell you there's nothing they can do. Basically you are sold, too bad, so sad. I now have a $600 piece of junk sitting in my garage. I'm hoping I can get $20 out of it from the scrap yard.

I cannot even begin to describe my disappointment in these overpriced machines! Bought a 4-year extended warranty when I purchased and two weeks after warranty expired, my heating element went out on the dryer. This repair cost over 300 bucks. Six months later the washer was making some crazy noise and service guy could not find the cause...another $120 bucks. A few months later the same noise...this time a coin had slid under the bottom plate and caused damage to the machine...another service charge of over $200 bucks plus I purchased an extended one year warranty at $189 bucks. Thank goodness, because now it is throwing an LD code and will not drain.
Oh and I forgot about the service call for the latch breaking on the dryer door...another $119 bucks. The repair guy felt sorry for me and didn't charge me for the part. Tangled clothes when washed and forever to dry. Next time I will buy an inexpensive set like I had before that lasted 16 years with no problems! This stuff is junk!

We purchased the HE commercial brand for our family of 7. It has been running mostly fine for about 2 1/2 years. It started making a horrible grinding noise about 3 months ago. It was getting worse and worse. I decided to google the issue and discovered there was a common problem with a nut falling off the bottom. I leaned the washer back and found the nut on the floor, right below the center of the pulley. I reattached it by removing the pulley guard which had been getting cut by the loose and wobbly pulley, put some superglue on the nut and reattached it to the bottom. NO MORE NOISE!! I'm willing to bet that this has caused slippage of the pulley, poor performance and many other issues. Maytag should do something about it.

Centennial commercial tech. washer - We purchased this piece of junk in Sept 2013, and had to have a repairman twice before it was six weeks in my home. I wrote several letters but the only thing that I received were applications for insurance to cover repairs. I should have received a replacement as it was bad from day one, but Maytag doesn't replace!!! It's been semi-reliable for the past several months, until early this year. It started jerking when it changed cycles, sounding as if the drum was hitting really hard against the sides.
It has continued to do that regularly; now it won't function on the cycle it's set on. It won't spin, sometimes the lid lock won't work. It starts filling when it should be draining. This evening, it stayed in the rinse cycle for 40 minutes and when I realized it was still rinsing I had to unplug it to get it stopped. It goes on and on, (and so could I out of frustration). The good name of Maytag has turned to trash, and when it leaves my home, no more Maytags!!! PS. The dryer we got with it takes at least 1 1/2 full cycles to dry a load, and since I couldn't get it to spin properly, I'll be lucky to get this last load dry in 2 to 2 1/2 cycles.

The blanket fully wet is also HEAVY and with my arthritis, is very hard to pick up. I don't think enough water goes into the drum to actually clean the clothes either. The clothes at the end of the cycle come out in a weird mushroom form. The first couple times that the washer was used, I noticed that the water took a very long time to come out. It said it was "sensing" and then the water would come out in small spurts. Then 2013 the dryer need a new board at the tune of $391.00. And today, yes - yet once again I need a new pump! Over $2,000 in repairs on these awful machines. I called Maytag because I thought maybe they would care - not so much. The rep told me that the Bravos models were discontinued (shocker) but that she could give me a discount on a new comparable version at ONLY $600. How nice! I will use these until they fail again - which according to history - that won't take long and then I will NEVER EVER EVER purchase a Maytag product again.
We work hard for our money and continually giving it to a company (for parts) for a product that they failed to make a quality product is not going to happen again! DO NOT BUY MAYTAG. But the enamel on the top load still looks new! We plan on shopping for a new set this weekend passing these on to our daughter. We will buy ONLY Maytag for the rest of our lives!!

I purchased the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer set one year ago, and have asked myself why ever since. The oversized laundry tub is what attracted me to the model, but it sure doesn't deliver for the money it cost. On normal settings, it doesn't use enough water for all the clothes to even get wet. After the load was complete, there were areas of my clothes bone dry, and obviously still dirty. I soon learned that the only way the washer uses enough water to get all the clothes wet and clean, was to set the machine on the "bulky" setting. This is the only setting I use now, but all of my clothes winds up twisted together, sometimes in one big ball.
As for efficiency, that statement folks is a joke! Because I use the bulky setting, it uses much more water than a traditional washer ever did, and when the load is off balanced, it will go through another rinse cycle to try to even it out. This machine uses far more water and electricity than my old school set! I suppose if you don't get your clothes dirty, you may not need to use the bulky setting, but that's the only way I can wash my laundry with this machine. The old style set I had before this was Maytag also, and lasted about 20 years. I was more than happy to purchase Maytag again, but this set has been nothing but a disappointment. I don't plan to buy another energy efficient machine again, nor would I recommend this product to anyone!

Apparently the Maytag Bravos HE top loading washer is poorly designed. We have sparingly used this washer for approx 3 years and it began to make a horrible noise in the spin cycle and then to give us UL error codes. After searching on the internet we discovered that the seal around the main spin shaft and the bearings were bad. Inspection under the machine revealed a terrible rust and grease spot and splatters of rust and grease on underside of unit. This is a typical problem and this machine should have been recalled or at the very least repaired by Maytag for little if any cost. They now make a kit to fix this problem, but this should not happen after only 2-4 years of use on a $700+ machine.
Very, very disappointed with Maytag! Customer service, of course, offered us nothing as pathetic 1 year warranty was expired. Ten year on the tub, like anything will go wrong with that.

Not sure but already this brand new model has been discontinued, so the manufacturer i.e. Maytag or Whirlpool take your pick found out about the defective design/part but now does not want to honor the warranty ridiculous. We have a 3 year old washer dryer. The wash stopped working so we called Maytag directly to have their repair person come look at their product. Little did we know that they sub contract repair to local companies I could have contacted myself. After being told the authorized dealer was Maytag I soon found out it was not a Maytag employee. The man who came has no idea what is wrong and is guessing at issues. Once a installed part is not the cause he wants to try something else but we have to pay for him to trial and error.
We have spent hundreds of dollars and yet our washer is still broken. We have decided to go buy another washer as this is our cheaper option (it will not be a Maytag or Whirlpool). When I tried to talk to ** (Maytag manager who lied on the phone to me and was very rude) manager I was talking to refused and told I had to file my complaint with her co-work. According to repairman this washer had a very common problem with what mine was doing. Water was gushing up out of the detergent, bleach, and softener dispensers and running out onto my floor. It was going to cost an arm and a leg to repair it. Mind you this washer isn't even 3 yrs old yet. Called the manufacturer and they basically told us that we should have purchased the extended warranty. We said if so many washers of that model had that problem they should have had a recall and fixed it for the customer. They said it wasn't a safety issue. Bought the Bravos machines in 2008. Nothing but trouble. First they both had to have their timers replaced because they took two hours to wash/dry a load. Then the washer began to leak. I need to keep a towel under it and swap it out with another one as it gets wet. Had warranty folks come out to repair it. Took three tries and two guys working together to figure out what was wrong. Within a year it was leaking again - back to the towels! The dryer always takes at least two cycles to get anything dry. No more Maytag for me!

My washer is new, out of warranty, and about 2 and a half years old. All of a sudden, with no warning or previous issues, the "computer" board in the washing machine malfunctioned which caused a humming noise, it would not cycle into the next wash phase, the time would go up instead of down, I could not change cycles, and when I would push the power button there would be a delay of power coming on. I unplugged and called my local appliance repair and he said he sees problems with this model regularly, although not always the same issues.
Before purchasing I scoured the internet for reviews on different units to make sure I didn't get a lemon. I think Maytag saw the error of their ways quickly and stopped making these before people caught on. This model is no longer being made. I like matching units, so it meant either shell out $500 for replacing the board, or replacing both the washer and the dryer that still works, which would be about $1200 or more for a new set. I chose the least expensive route for now. Not that it matters where I bought mine, but Home Depot and it was on clearance so it was a good price. I have now made up for that difference in repairs.

I have dogs and kids who play football and a husband who does construction, and it's not unusual to find lumps of dirt and fur trapped in an article of clothing or blanket. I called Maytag to seek information regarding the number of gallons used by any of the wash cycles of the Maytag BRAVOS series 300 (Model: MVWB450WQ2). I live in California, and like millions of others, I'm curious as to what the maximum amount of water used per wash might be.
I told the customer service agent that I'd be happy with an estimate of any parameter: the maximum water demand for any cycle, the minimum, the average any ballpark estimate would be great! My goal is to change in a meaningful way our weekly water use. How much does it matter if I do my family's laundry once vs. twice per week? Is it any more water-efficient to run one large load vs. two small ones? The Customer Service agents would offer only a scripted response to my query. Could they tell me the minimum or maximum amount of water used (on average) by any of the cycles? Any cycle any condition, just an estimate, please. A universal it depends was all I could extract.
The scripted answer? "The amount of water used depends on the sensor and the exact conditions". Well, yes, of course; I don't expect a specific amount. Just as the amount of gas used by a car depends on the length of a trip and the speed driven, the amount of water used per cycle will vary, but nevertheless we know, more or less, how much gas is used by a Toyota Camry on a trip between New York and the Maytag Customer Service office in Benton Harbor, Michigan. I noted that, if Maytag claims to build high efficiency (HE) machines, then they must be HE in comparison to 'something', right? -- otherwise how could they claim that these machines used less water? Less than... what?
** insisted that no one at Maytag could tell me the answer. He asked, "What reason could Maytag have not to disclose this information?" I know this isn't the answer you want to hear, but its simply not available. Not even a range of water use per cycle required/solicited/demanded by the sensor? Can Maytag's engineers be so indifferent that they never tested any cycle for its water use, but instead they just imagine that, by virtue of its mysterious sensor, it was lower than the use by their non-efficient machines? Your help in getting to the bottom of what felt like an act of stonewalling would be highly appreciated!

Called serviceman to tell him the washer leaked and he said it was my fault because the door wasn't wiped properly. (There was no visible dirt because I wiped the door each time as per his instructions.) Never got it resolved. After much arguing, I gave up. Then, after the warranty, it started tearing our clothes apart. Maytag says, "Nothing we can do, warranty is over. We can find you a service person other than the one who sold it to you but you have to pay." So many ruined clothes. Now I read lots of reviews with the same and worse complaints from others. They sure have gotten away with making garbage.

I don't know anything about the Maytag washers and dryers but have a Maytag washer and dryer. And I just recently bought a house that the owner is leaving both the washer/dryer, and both are Neptunes. I have an older set of Maytag washer/dryer and they are about 20 yrs old. They are both top load and I had one repair where a water line had a small leak and the service man came and fixed it and haven't had any problems since. So I came on Maytags site to see how good these are, but from what I read, I think I will give the set of Neptunes away and just keep my old set as I am told them will last a good 35 or more years. They are heavy duty and large capacity. Thank you for letting me comment on your washers and dryers.

Don't buy any new technology -- not enough data. This a POS. No more Maytag for me. Spoke to a repairman -- water leaking from the bottom and bearings are out -- was told it was a bad design. 951.00 -- energy guide said the annual cost to operate was 30.00 a year -- my calculation is 30.00 + 190.00 = 220.00. What a ripoff. Never a Maytag for me again. I only really needed a dryer but thought that I would update and just get a matching set for my women. Now we will be going back to an unmatched set. What a terrible purchase. Review says 5 star -- that is for the Consumer Affairs -- not the washer.

It has been a constant headache! I have been in countless experiences, moments at work, riding the train... If there's a moment of rain or if I sweat, my clothing will very audibly smell like mold! MOLD! I've done everything... left the door open, removed the light, the bleach and cascade mixture, the store bought washer cleaners and nothing works. How can that be healthy to be wearing clothing that is infused with mold. The thing finally broke again and I'm not fixing it!
To top off the mold problem, I resorted to washing some clothing in my large bathtub. I was completely horrified to see the color of the water! Dark grey, brown filthy, completely filthy water! I had to double wash by hand and rinse twice till the water ran clear. That's 14 years of wearing dirty clothing! That thing never got my clothing, linens, nothing was ever clean! Maytag should be ashamed of themselves, did they product test?

Purchased a Maytag Bravos top load washer and dryer in May of 2011. We had our other Maytag washer and dryer for 14 years, and they were working fine when we sold them. We saved a year for a new one. We spent $1,700.00 for them both. We assumed they would last as long as our old ones. Been buying Maytag our whole lives. Besides the clothes not getting cleaned. Besides the washer smelling, even after we clean it regularly with the product proposed. Besides it not working on the normal function. Besides it shredding our clothes if you put it on the highest spin speed. It started to make a very loud noise. Like an airplane taking off. Called a friend of ours that use to have an appliance store in Fenton, Michigan for decades. He said it was the bearings and that "You have to replace the whole tub." A $300-$400 fix. And that it would do the same thing again in a short period of time. He said that they are junk.
We would be better off buying a new one. He said, "The ONLY one you can buy now that will last like they use to is Speed Queen." I had never heard of them. They start at about $750. But they are worth it. He said that they don't make any washers to last more than 3-4 years anymore. We will NEVER buy Maytag again. And Sears wouldn't give us the time of day. Each time we called and asked to be switched over to the recall department, we just got a busy signal, then a fax machine noise. We have shopped at Sears for years. Boy, loyalty doesn't mean anything in this day and age. I'm sure Speed Queen will be happy to help us out. DO NOT buy any Maytag products. There should be a class action suit against them for this. There are thousands of us that got ripped off. I can't tell you how upset my husband and I are about this. We are retired, and on a fixed income, and I am disabled. The stress this has caused cannot be put into words.

This has to be the biggest joke in the world for the respected name of Maytag! The engineers that developed this worst-of-all machines on the market must have been circumcised with pinking shears. 80 minutes for a wash cycle? Even "rapid wash" takes an hour of slowly spinning and spinning ad nauseam with almost no water. The clothes sit in the same position even on the very brief agitation cycle... Nope, the clothes do not come out clean, although if you add bleach to the dispenser, since there is no water in the tank, the bleach does triple duty and rots the clothes. Is this masquerading as "energy efficient" when all of the cycles are an hour long, about? Unfortunately it takes water to clean clothes and the environ-lack-of-mentalists must have bribed Maytag to develop the worst washer on the planet. Absolutely!

I purchased the Maytag Washer & Dryer $1891.14 with Extended Warranties Model numbers: MHW5100DW0 & MED5100DWo. In September 2014 from salesman ** at ABC Warehouse for my Wife as a Wedding Gift. The dryer started malfunctioning toward the end of October, it was randomly flashing a red light indicating "Check Lint Screen" and when this happens the dryer will lock up not allowing you the "OPERATOR" to dry your clothing. We ALWAYS check our screen before use and clean after each use, so we found that light to be odd. But anyhow we checked the lint screen and nothing was on it nor was it bent out of shape, everything seemed normal to me & my wife besides the fact we spent $1891.14 on BRAND NEW washer & dryer set that's acting weird.
I called ABC Warehouse spoke to **. He said "Yeah they do that sometimes, you just gotta MAKE SURE YOU BLOW THOSE THINGS OUT MAN cause they don't like it dirty." I explained to him we keep it clean then he said "the screen might be slightly bent." He went on to explain how he seen that happen a lot, I just said "uh huh uh huh yeah yeah." So now it's like the middle of November and the DRYER "Check Lint Screen Light" is coming on before every load now and staying on for long periods of time not allowing us to dry our clothing. So I called ** again 2nd week of December this time asking for a new unit. He told me to call the ABC Warehouse Store Warranty Department at 1-800-722-3333. I called and they gave me a number to Master Tech Appliance 1919 Federal Blvd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103 (734) 662-0641.
I immediately asked why am I calling technicians instead of new unit when my unit is still under the 1yr factory warranty and in addition too, I have purchased an 5yr extended warranty? They wasn't trying to hear that. So I called Whirlpool 1-800-253-1301 told them the situation and asked for a new unit they said NO and then added by telling me their policies and how many times they can come and attempt to fix my unit before replacing it. I screamed and shouted at them explaining to them that I have spent $1891.14 on a non-working unit for my wife as a wedding gift and I am currently drying my clothes at the local Laundry Mat, they said NO still.
So I called Master Tech, they couldn't come out until Feb 3, 2015. My wife took off from work. In the mean time it completely stopped working the first week of January, we had to go to the Laundry Mat every couple days cause we got 4 kids. SMH WOW my wife is pissed, I mean furious. When ** from Master Tech showed up he looked at our unit and said it's also not getting hot so he called in to his job they told him to come back and order my parts and to schedule another day to come back.
2 weeks later Master Tech called with the appt. My wife took off from work again but this time they called the day of hours into the day to tell us the parts are on back order and they need to reschedule. My wife was VERY UPSET but we did it anyways. Now remind you are dryer is still out of commission. We're going to the LAUNDRY MAT. Master Tech came 3 days later (my wife took off from work) they literally took our dryer apart (Pics Below) for it to still not work, Master Tech called Whirlpool, Whirlpool told them to order us a NEW SWITCH BOARD. Wow what the hell are you serious?
So Master Tech leaves again and orders the SWITCH BOARD. They came 5 days later (My wife took off from work) new switchboard and dryer still not working. Now throughout this whole ordeal I've been in contact with all 3 companies begging for a new unit and nobody wanted to hear that especially WHIRLPOOL & ABC WAREHOUSE. With Whirlpool knowingly the switchboard didn't fix the issue the first time, they instructed Master Tech back to my home with the same but NEW SWITCHBOARD. LOL WOW I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING TO US.
Master Tech schedules yet another day to come by 3-13-2015 & yes my wife took off from work AGAIN just to hear ** say "sorry they keep sending me back with the same part and they know it's not gonna work but anyhow I'm here." He switched out the Switch Board again and still nothing. I called ABC Warehouse and they finally okayed us a new dryer with delivery day of next day, which is today 3-14-2015 and when it arrives THE WHOLE FRONT DOOR IS BENT OFF THE HINGE WOW WOW WOW WOW. Now they say our new will be delivered 3-17-2015 and yes my wife has to take off from work.

Maytag Bravos MVWB725BW - Purchased this washer last year and have been very unhappy with the way it washes. It is extremely harsh in the way the agitator moves the clothes. Because it has a low water level the clothes take quite a beating in the washing process. This is confirmed when I remove the clothes from the dryer and proceed to clean the lint filter. The filter is constantly full of lint, even after drying clothes that have been washed numerous times before. Additionally, the clothes, even though being put in evenly, end up bunching together.

My husband and I bought a Maytag 3000 series front-loading washer in 2009. In either December of 2014 or January of 2015 it broke down. We had a repairman come out. The inner and outer tubs and a bearing needed replacing. He said it would be expensive and some of the parts were no longer available. In his opinion he hated these new machines as they were nothing but problems. Next we contacted our dealer whom we bought it from. He contacted Maytag himself, then he gave us telephone number to speak with. He no longer carries this brand because of problems and said our washer was no longer made because of problems.
So we call, spoke with several supervisors in customer experience. They offered half off another washer of similar value on Maytag or whirlpool brand. Maybe I'm being difficult but I didn't plan on buying a new washer after 5 1/2 years. When I and my husband ask to speak to next person in chain of command we were told there wasn't one. Really!!! She would not pass us to a higher authority. She read a classic... "I'm sorry for your experience. We're offering you a great deal considering your warranty was out." I'm hoping this will keep anyone else from this Bad experience.

I run it 2 days a week sometimes more. The washer is between 25 and 30 years old. And works good still. I'm not sure how much longer it has but we are happy with it. On Jan 31, 2011, we bought a Maytag Bravos Washing Machine, installed (aren't they all) for $538.71. Thirteen months later (yes, just outside the 12 month warranty), we paid Fred's Appliance $239.71 for a "shifter." In December of 2014, the Maytag didn't work, and on January 14, 2015, Fred's Appliance told us we needed a main gear case repair for $496.96. That's right, the cost of a new one. Yep, less than three years old. The Maytag has a 10 year (second through tenth year) Limited Warranty, apparently limited to a meteor striking your Maytag.
I had to pay Fred's $86.35 for the pleasure of their 20 minute visit anyway. So, for three years use, I paid $538.71 + $326.06 (repairs) = $864.77. I called Maytag, many times, to get to the proper decision maker, who offered me a rebate of $75 if I bought a new one of their dogs. I told her, with all due respect, that was pathetic and that I would spread the word. I called Maytag (Whirlpool) to complain and they said there wasn't anything they could do. I reminded them that I had checked for recalls on this model and looked into some of the complaints about this washer and that there were many of the same issues that I had plus many others. Worst Washer ever...hated it from day one of receiving it (but couldn't return because moving into new place, took awhile to get it installed, and by then the 30 day return window had lapsed, so now stuck with this piece of garbage!). Is ALWAYS off balance whenever you wash anything of weight (i.e.: towels, sheets, blankets etc.). It takes me close to 2 hrs to get these items washed because I have to keep starting and stopping it to try to get it to spin dry because it ALWAYS throws the items so is off bal. and won't spin. Then when you hit pause, adj. bal., & start it again, it starts REWASHING the items (instead of continuing on from where you left off), and sometimes when it can't balance in the spinning cycle it just shuts down making you think the full cycle is complete, only to open up the lid to find your clothes all sopping wet.
Also, NONE of the cycles will get any of my clothes clean...it just uses so little water your clothes come out feeling grungy and still dirty. I have had to resort to ONLY using the BULKY cycle because it is the ONLY cycle that will use a higher water level (mainly because bulky items like towels will absorb the water so it needs to add more). With this cycle at least my clothes don't FEEL dirty when they are done washing!
There is no way of knowing how much time is left on any of the cycles, which is a real problem when you have to start and stop it, because you really have no idea how far back it goes to start itself up all over again. There is just no way to time it, because it keeps messing up where you have to keep stopping/starting it, and then you have no idea of time frame. Never saw a machine built so UNUSER friendly!
I will NEVER buy a MAYTAG washer again, and NEVER will I buy a washer unless it HAS the center agitator, and a control for water level. These HE washers are the worst, and unfortunately they are now the only washers being made, but without water, clothes just DO NOT ever get clean anymore no matter which 'fancy' and expensive detergent you use. HE washers are HORRIFIC. I may just buy an old style 'used' washer with the agitator... at least I won't be wasting energy to only wind up with STILL dirty clothes when using HE washers! FINAL NOTE: AVOID Maytag HE Washers at ALL COST! You will be sorry if you decide to purchase one!

To begin with, the Bravos 300 washer was bought because we owned a Maytag previously and it was with us for 25 years. It was still running when we gave it away and the only problem was a small oil leak starting at the drive. The new washer has no agitator, just the new style flat thing at the bottom of the tub. You cannot wash a set of fitted sheets without it turning into a tangled mess. The washer quit working after about 5 years and all indications pointed to the control. The control would reset after unplugging, but would freeze immediately when you tried to enter a command.
We live in an isolated place and it is not feasible to fly in a service person. I ordered a new control, but there was no change in function. After several hours of detective work, it turns out that the mickey mouse plug for the electrical connection at the pump had broken inside. Because the pump would not work, the whole control would freeze. We will never buy another Maytag.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer pair in 2009. Over those 5 years I have had at least 8 shirts come out of the washer with tears in the armpits. First I thought it was my armpits destroying the cloth. Then I thought it was cheap cotton (all my shirts are 100% cotton) from foreign manufacturers. I've had two shirts destroyed this week, this morning's was really thick material. Usually when I remove clothes from the washer, they are entwined and twisted. Consistently when I wash any load including a towel or two, the washer becomes unbalanced. My clothes often have a foul odor after washing.
My theory is that the lack of a center agitating spindle is allowing the clothes to tangle, and not really cleaning them. I have to use the extra rinse setting or the clothes come out covered with soap suds. In summary, I'm not happy with this washer and will never buy another Maytag appliance. WE read the reviews. People must lie or are paid to write good ones. Within a few weeks the washer was giving us trouble. The door latch was not closing properly and it would take up to 20-30 min. to get it to start. Called and they said the latch was stuck. Again started having problems on and off. Months went by and had another service call. Same issue. Fixed it again.
2014 again same problem. We have to order a new latch and some other part. They could not get the part. Called Maytag directly and they were back ordered. What does that tell you. This is a major problem so much so that no one anywhere had the parts. 6 wks to finally get it and got it fixed. But in the meantime, the dryer was not working correctly. The clothes were damp and lint was all over. It was like a steam bath. They came out and when they looked at the back of the dryer it was burnt. Now this is what upset me. He said it could have caught fire and burnt down our house. Nice. The dryer was shot. They said to fix it would cost more than it was worth.
Our warranty gave us a new dryer. 3 wks later I have my washer and dryer back working. In the meantime we have spent more time at the laundromat than at home. Brand new washer and dryer and are going to the laundromat. We had the dryer 5 days before it stopped working. Brand new dryer. Called and got a service call. The spring on the start button was not correctly put in. Who inspects these products. This was not right from the factory. So they fix it. Said if it happened again they would need to replace the entire thing. I do not know what that means. That was Dec.
End of Dec. the washing machine is not running through the cycle. It had weird display on the washer. Thought maybe it was overloaded. Had to cancel and drain and then hit drain and spin. This takes not only more time but more electricity. I put in 2 sheets and it did it again. Had a few loads that ran properly and again it started. Called for service. He comes out and the motor that runs the belt to spin and some circuit board is shot. They call 2 days later and say that no parts can be found anywhere. WTH! It is 18 mos old and already the parts are extinct. So the warranty company said it was not worth fixing. They are giving us a new washer.
I remember the commercials about Maytag that the repairmen had nothing to do. Well I thought it was because they did not break down. No... they cannot find parts. This is unacceptable. We have to go through the inconvenience of them not working and schlepping to the laundromat baskets of clothes. In the winter this is not fun. We are retired. Have to walk down icy steps. I have a washer/dryer upstairs and I cannot use them. Don't work. Not just the aggravation of dealing with repairs but not getting parts available, then having to wait to get money back to order a new washer and dryer and then get the dryer and 5 days later it doesn't work.
Now we have to wait 2 wks for a new washer. It better work. Have to buy the warranty over again on each product cause they fulfill it when they buy you a new product. So this costs us extra money. The money we pay at the laundromat. The cost of electricity every time we have to run the washer 3-4 times to get it to spin out the water so I can dry them.
To say I am upset is an understatement. I was told by a rep at Lowe's, "well Maytag has about 3 lemons a yr and you just got all of them." That was their consolation to our problem. I think Maytag needs to inspect their product. Our house could have burnt down. It is not a matter of parts going bad but damn the stuff is not even 2 yrs old. And the dryer was 5 days old when it stopped working. WE had a Maytag dishwasher and it was installed brand new and did not work. It had a defect in it. I never got to wash one dish in it and it had to be repaired. So I am not happy with Maytag. You go on Facebook and tell your story and all the Maytag horror stories come out. You need to do something to save yourself. Your company name is going down the tubes. Thought you should know this.

Just bought a Maytag Bravos 4.3 cu ft washing machine from NFM. The first machine delivered was broken it didn't wash or spin the clothes. NFM sent out another one at 9:30pm. It doesn't spin the clothes out well & loads have to be small. Poorly made.

I love my washer. I have had it for 13 yrs and has only needed repair once. My complaint is the gasket on the tub has black mold that grows on it. I have cleaned it with bleach, bathroom cleaner, alcohol, but it always comes back. What can I do to prevent illness from mold?

I purchased a dryer model med7500yw not even a year ago and the heating element has failed four times causing a lint fire and my clothes are burned and melted. Maytag only wants to keep servicing the dryer and not refund me my money. I asked the representative who claimed to be a supervisor would she feel safe with the dryer in her home and her rude remark was "this is not about me" and because the service was done back in November and now it's January it will need to be serviced yet again. I am losing time from work and the repair men are rude and ignorant.

I inherited the Maytag Bravo washing machine when I got married... should have stuck with my LG! The Bravo does not clean clothes properly, I have to wash fewer items in each wash and wash them on the power cycle! Wasting time, water, and electricity! Will be purchasing a different brand!

My washer is 3 years old, it sounds as though an earthquake is rocking my laundry room during the addition of water, rinse, and spin cycles. Cleanliness only when washed twice, along with the washer stopping at 12 minutes because of UL signal (unbalanced) - this happens even when I have a small load. The dryer does dry clothes however along with tons of Lint stuck to my clothes. I empty the lint screen after EVERY dry cycle. Have had repairman who charged me $70.00 and said he could not fix the washer.

After 2 years and 1 month, the machine stopped spinning the clothes on any of the cycles. After attempting to use the spin cycle manually that stopped working. I called Maytag, my washer is out of warranty. After discussing the situation with knowledgeable appliance people, they said it is probably the motherboard. I know how expensive that is to repair and pay for a repairman to diagnosis the problem. I decided to purchase a new washer. Of course, it was not a Maytag. I read online all the people with same or similar problems left out of luck. This is an outrage and Maytag should not be allowed to get away with producing, selling and not standing behind the products. These machines should have been recalled and replaced with ones that are upstanding and will last for more than 2 years.

This washer has been the biggest disappointment of any appliance I have ever bought. Purchased 12/2012 and immediately disliked it but thought I needed to get used to the new style since my previous machine operated for 23 yrs! It is loud and does not clean as effectively as my last machine. It stays in the "Sensing" mode for 15 mins or longer. Rarely will it spin as it should. Most loads, after the sensing stops and the lights go out, I have to move the dial to Drain/Spin, wait for it to sense again and then maybe it will spin. If this doesn't work I have to unplug the machine to allow it to reset. I called Maytag and was told there are no known issues with the machine. I google this model and find many customers have had a similar problem.

1st service call about 2 years after we got it. Put around $200 in it. Now broke down again. Service tech quoted $475.00 to fix it. So it was basically totaled after around 6 years. Nightmare kept getting LD (long drain) code. After hours of research I finally called service. Would not drain so I had to wring out a whole load of laundry and bail out the water by hand. Miserable experience!
