I HATE this washer. It had such good reviews before I bought it, but I have never been so disappointed. Doesn't use NEARLY enough water to get anything clean, even when I try "deep water wash, bedding, or power wash". You can't switch modes in the middle of a load, and if you leave it paused too long, it drains on you. I've tried balling everything up as the manufacturer advised. I tried using less detergent, again as advised. Nothing works. Sometimes the clothes on top don't even get wet. Don't waste your money!! If I can find a way to fix my old washer, I'm going to do that and throw this thing to the junk heap.

Recently I purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer. These two items are the single worst appliances I have ever purchased. They are loud, ball the clothes into a knot and run forever. I plan to sell them on Craigslist and buy a Speed Queen.

Water level is totally inaccurate, if you do get enough water in it, it will not spin clothes dry. This is the worst purchase I have bought in my entire life. This washing machine fails in every aspect period!! AND the matching dryer is a waste of space as well, clothes come out damp regardless of setting or time period. When I was younger, Maytag meant something, not anymore! I have searched to see if there are replacement sensors, or upgraded components to make these machines work properly, that I would even be willing to pay for myself and get them installed to make them functional, but NO they don't even offer that... we are just stuck with them.
My water bill is higher and my electric bill is higher too! From these machines. I wouldn't even sell them used to another person. I wouldn't want them to inherit these problems, but as soon as I can save up enough money {being disabled} I will get these hauled off and buy a set of Speed Queen machines. My wife and I are so repeatedly disgusted!! I wish I had the receipt so I could post it for more proof.

Maytag washer mvwc565fw: You have heard about how noisy they are & don't fill up enough water unless you set it on deep water wash. I can't get the right water temp. It's cold, cold warm. No hot at all. Sorry I ever bought the piece of junk. Only have had it a month too. The last washer I had it at least lasted 4 years. Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

The Maytag Bravos washing machine (Model No. MVWB75OWQ1 Type 580) is the worst I've ever owned. The low water level obviously is not sufficient to clean the clothes as the clothes come out still dirty. I pre-treat stains carefully and follow all of the directions and 9 times out of 10, my clothes come out with the stain still there.
The clothes never smell clean. In fact, they have an odor. My t-shirts still have a smell of BO under the arms and some of my clothes still smell like my perfume. They just aren't clean. I feel like we put our dirty clothes in this machine and they agitate around in a little pool of water for an hour and they come out still dirty. The machine frequently gets off balance and shuts down too. If I had the money to trash this one and go buy another one - I'd do it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately - I'm stuck with this piece of junk until I can afford to buy a new one. This was a total waste of money and Maytag should be ashamed that they have not recalled it and given its customers a replacement option.

I bought this dryer 3 years ago and the fuse has blown three times. The dryer gets really hot and blows a fuse. The entire back of the dryer is clean and free of lint, the hose on the back, and the ventilation pipe running out of the house are completely clear, but the dryer continues breaking down. The Whirlpool NC folks have been out here three times yet it has broken down once again. I should not have to purchase another dryer after only three years!

Maytag washer, top loader, Bravo series: We purchased Maytag washer and dryer 4 years ago. Last week, the washer started sounding like a 747 was landing in our laundry room. Maytag sent a service representative and informed us that the bearings were faulty and it would cost at least $800 to fix. It is appalling that a 4 year old appliance should fail like this. We will buy a different make and we will never buy any Maytag appliance again. This is such poor quality and worse service. Maytag would only offer a 30-40% off a washer, but only if we bought it directly from them. We can get a better offer from any local store. They also said we could get a discount on the part we need, but not the service. Do not, I repeat, do not buy Maytag anything. You will regret the purchase.

Why is it when you wash dark clothes they come out with white spots which looks like soap. I have put very little soap and it still appears. I usually wash in cold water so I tried warm water - same result. I have had a Maytag for a least 40 years never had this problem - what is it I am doing wrong? I have to wash and rinse at least 2 more times. I would appreciate a answer so I can fix this.

Bad decision, Purchased in 2013 a Bravos by Maytag. After 3 years, it sounds like a jet engine taking off. The bearing is failing, sad as Maytag advertises to be the best. In 35 years, this is our 4th washer, actually the 1st was a hand-me-down that lasted longer. Unfortunately, we thought spending more and believing that Maytag would last longer was a mistake. Cost to repair is over half of the cost, so we have elected to run to fail. Then replace the Maytag that should have lasted at least 10 years. Warning. Purchase at your own risk. DO NOT buy this machine or any by Maytag, could be the same results. Or it could be that they are manufactured under Lowe's specifications. From all the complaints the Maytag repair technicians are working, not setting around as they advertise. Only blaming myself for the purchase.

I purchased a washer/dryer, Maytag from Home Depot Nashville. It was delivered and set up. 02/24/17 the date of purchase, delivered 03/07/17. I have tried in every way to get the washer to wash properly, but to no avail. The water level doesn't cover the clothes, it takes 10 to 15 minutes for the wash to begin its cycle. It doesn't spin the clothes dry enough to put into the dryer. The washer makes all kinds of sounds that's drives you nuts while setting up to not wash your clothes clean. I have contacted Maytag on several occasion about this problem, they sent out someone to service the washer. Now, why would a brand new washer need servicing. Something's wrong. It isn't functioning up to standards and they should give me another washer.
Now on 05/18/17 the washer was serviced, I have called them again to do something about this piece of **. I was told that the only thing they could do is come service it again. Why, must this brand new washer be serviced every week. It doesn't make sense... I don't want this machine, I want my money back so I can purchase a machine that will wash my clothes properly. I purchased a secondhand washer and dryer from a used appliance store, it lasted my family 10 complete year. The only reason I don't have it now is because I wanted to upgrade, since I have never had a brand new set. What a disappointment. Everything that looks good from Maytag isn't good. I don't understand why they won't stand behind their product.
Something's got to be done about this. Maytag will not take my money 1,200 and force me to keep this malfunctioning piece of nothing. I'm going to Youtube this product so the consumer can see how this product doesn't work properly, therefore they won't waste their hard earned money. I will be contacting the BBB Nashville, and wherever I need to. I will let the consumer know the make and model of this product and where it was purchased from. Maytag I want every penny back. And, should hold you responsible for ever time I have had to go to the wash house because my brand new set won't work, and your company wants to service it every time I try to wash. I purchased this appliance on the strength of the well known name, that was the wrong thing to do.

I purchased a Maytag Front-Loading Washing machine. It was purchased on 11/30/15. Approximately this January, 2017 the spin cycle stopped getting all the water out of the laundry. Towels came out wet, shirts came out wet and I tried washing a small bathroom rug that came out of the washer dripping with water. My husband called Maytag to tell them about this issue. They told him I didn't know how to load the washer machine. Wow, I have only been using washing machines for 45 years and now I don't know how to load a machine. Then they said they will send him a video to watch on how to load a washing machine. I watched it. I wasn't doing anything incorrectly. (Maybe someone should send them a video on how to build a proper washing machine.)
I previously had a Maytag Neptune machine that lasted twenty years until there was a class action suit against the machine. The clothes came out fine from that machine. I just purchased an Electrolux front loader that works beautifully. Now I have a Maytag machine that is nothing but a piece of junk in my opinion. It cost $824.21. I will never buy a Maytag machine EVER. MHW7100DW.

I'm currently standing in front of my washing machine waiting for the 13-minute drain and spin cycle to finish because once again my load didn't drain and finish right. Except it has already been 40 minutes and it claims there is still 9 more left as it continues to sit there doing nothing while it hasn't even started spinning yet. It Sat on 13 minutes while "sensing" for over 5 minutes, then 12 for 10 minutes while doing nothing, then it changed to 11 minutes and made some weird noises but didn't actually do anything for 15 minutes, and now the timer randomly changed from 11 to 9 without any noises or movement happening and now continues to sit here.
I stupidly thought I could spin my clothes real quick to throw them in the dryer before bed and now I stand here extremely tired and very irritated. I also have no doubt some of the clothes will have holes in them when they're done because they always do, my family looks like we're homeless and ratty half the time we get dressed now. Also it never deep cleans thoroughly even on the toughest settings, I swear our socks can be washed 3 times in a row after being soaked all day and still come out crusty or a lot of times the armpits of shirts will still smell or be ultra stained with deodorant marks still.
This technology is almost too advanced and everything is decided by sensor, regardless of the registered functions on the buttons it will still do what it wants as the sensors see fit and run when they decide everything is perfect and ready, including taking 10 minutes just to unlock the lid when you pause a load cuase a small child may drown in the foot of water or a person may have their life completely altered by getting a little bit wet if the machine isn't completely drained and in pristine condition before you open the door. This machine is terrible. This company is terrible. And worst of all they drain your wallet for these horrible contraptions. I wish I could rate this 0 stars.

Maytag HE Top Load Washer - We bought our whole house lot of Maytag appliances 6 months prior to when we would need them, in Nov of 2015. There was a great Canadian Black Friday sale event special, so we purchased the whole lot at Home Depot thinking we had got a great deal, however back then there were very little reviews on the washers, as they were fairly new. This is the absolute worst washer, I have to pause the washer after the water level that the sensor allows finishes and add at least a bucket more of water to cover the clothes and clean them properly and rinse them twice to make sure the residue from the soap gets washed off (I use HE pods, so not using too much soap).
Certainly not what you would expect when you buy a high-end appliance. I'm going to replace it, but I cannot even try to recoup any money back, as I couldn't/ wouldn't be able to sell it to anyone knowing that it is just garbage!! You would think that a high-end appliance company like Maytag would admit that this appliance is a mistake and offer the consumers that purchased this junk a credit towards a washer that will do what is expected!! Think about it Maytag... you have lost a lot of future business by ignoring the fact that this machine is not what you advertise as a company that stands behind their name. I am sure to tell everyone that I know about the disappointment in this product. I have a friend that has a LG HE washer and it works great... so no excuses about water consumption regulations... it's just not designed properly!!

I purchased a Maytag Front End Loader from Home Depot five years ago with a two year extended warranty. After about a year I noticed water on the vinyl floor around the washer and dryer. The gasket developed a tear in the gasket center where the door shuts. Four years later I closed the door and the end of a knit shirt was caught where the inside of the door meets the gasket. The other four knit shirts wrapped around the one that was caught in the door and the weight and force of the shirts pulled the gasket out of its socket during the wash cycle causing the floor to fill with water again. This time it was out warranty so I ordered the new gasket and called a serviceman. The service company suggest I call Maytag who indicated they had no problems with this issue. It appears that Maytag is about to send someone out to make the repair.

My former Whirlpool was a front loader too - Never a problem. I purchased this Maytag set simply to have a matched set because our Whirlpool dryer died. This washer has to be babysat. The washer holds water and it gets musty - never ever before have I had this problem. Maytag says it is designed this way and I have to continue to buy AFFRESH (which is also very expensive). I have to use this two to three times a week and the pkg says once every 6 months - DON'T DON'T BUY MAYTAG. LOUSY.

I'm not sure that the guys who designed this unit ever actually tested it. During the wash cycle, if you have something like a fitted sheet it will actually stuff all of the surrounding wash items into the sheet until it forms one huge, round ball. Then it gets really interesting because the vicious spin cycle sends the machine marching around the laundry room and this happens even if the wash has not balled up. I now try to evenly distribute the wash within the tub prior to starting the wash cycle but it doesn't work. So now I grab a cup of coffee and newspaper and sit with my washer throughout the entire spin cycle to make sure that the hoses don't tear out of the wall.

This Maytag Centennial is the WORST piece of junk I ever purchased and I received the same uninterested response from Maytag as everyone else. Maytag sent a service man out who said it was functioning as it was intended. Once started, this washing machine can't stop if you forget to add an item. It dumps out all the water and starts the hour-long cycle over. All settings are an hour-long cycle. Unless "Bulky" or "Delicate" is selected you only get 2 inches of water -- Even for "Heavy Duty." No matter what the setting, the clothes do not come out clean. You must hand wash them first. Maytags are no longer a desired product.

Repairman said all diagnostics read normal. I put a very small load in to show him the water was not even wetting the clothes and only swishing them around a little. The shirt on top never got wet and was still in its same position when it went into the final spin. He said this is normal. I have had and worked on many washing machines over the years. The worst design and complete failure of parts to easily align in Maytag front end washers is nothing short of staggering. Creating a tension wire to wrap a rubber seal that requires Hercules to install and easily tears the rubber is beyond ridiculous. Avoid front end Maytag washing machines like the plague since they may cause it given the mold and growth from excessive moisture when the seals tear.

I am going to file a complaint with Maytag and if they do not refund my money am going to file a DTPA claim against them for false, misleading and deceptive advertisement. So I read the reviews when I bought this Maytag Bravo Washer and figured stuff happens. We bought the top load Maytag Brava in 2013. We bought the Home Depot warranty, 2 years later the washer was leaking water. 5 repair visits and 3 attempts to fix the leak before it was repaired. As of 4-25-17 the wash machine displayed un-level errors and started vibrating with a thundering noise. Called out warranty repair and they stated we need new bearings. Repair is scheduled in 2 days and now the wash machine is thundering and spewing oil so it is shut off. 4 years old, and like the other complaints clothes come out with dry patches and not clean. This is a bad machine, we are saving for our next washer. It will have an old style spindle/agitator, no California efficiency and probably not Maytag.

I purchased this machine (Maytag Bravos XL MVWX700XL2 ) about 18 months ago. I was so excited with the looks and the reviews I found on the machine at that time. For the first 14 months I was happy. All of a sudden, it has become the washer from Hades! It twists and almost ruins my clothing. Not to mention, I think it is permanent wrinkles that it puts into things. I washed our comforter on "Bulky". The part that must have been at the bottom is completely wrinkled and it also wrecked all of the fill. This was a comforter that it is supposed to be fine to put in the washer. I am attaching pictures in which you can almost plainly see where the comforter was at the bottom.
I had a serviceman out a few weeks ago. He said Maytag knows that there is a problem, however, there is no service bulletin that is out yet on it. In addition, he ran all of the codes and told me there is nothing wrong with my machine. That must be why I have to iron almost every piece of clothing in this house. Maytag will hopefully give me decent customer service on this, or I will come unglued. For the price of this washing machine, I expected much more.

My husband purchased the Bravos XL washing machine less than a year ago at Benson's Maytag in Peoria, Illinois. Within months of purchase we noticed our clothing coming out with stains they didn't have prior to washing. After hundreds of $$'s of clothing ruined we realized it was due to the fabric softener dispenser. We cleaned the machine multiple times & ceased using fabric softener. No luck.
Today I finally had enough & called Benson's service department. The fellow I spoke with told me, "You are not supposed to use fabric softener with the Bravos XL." I asked why a $1000 washing machine would have a dispenser you were supposed to use. He told me it was because "people like to use it" BUT you weren't supposed to use it. I asked, "Why would there be a dispenser if you weren't supposed to use it." He told me the salesperson should have explained it during the transaction or I should have read the owner's manual more thoroughly. I asked how I needed to go about correcting the problem & he told me to clean out the machine with really, really hot water. I explained we had multiple times.
He didn't have any other suggestions so I asked about setting up a service call & requested he access my information so we could verify the warranty. He confirmed the unit was under warranty. I asked to schedule service & was told there would be a $50 service call fee. I told him, "I would figure that would be under warranty" to which he explained it would only be under warranty if it was the machine ruining my clothes. I asked, "What other reason would there be for my ruined clothes" and he told me if the laundry was being ruined because I used fabric softener it would not be under warranty. So I repeated that saying "So you are telling me if the machine is ruining my clothing because I used fabric softener it will not be under warranty?" and he got flustered and basically said he didn't exactly say that and they couldn't confirm anything until a tech took a look at the machine. I told him I would have to speak to my husband.
So this is my question... why on Earth do we have a company building $1000 washing machines WITH A FABRIC SOFTENER DISPENSER if you are not supposed to use it? I have never, ever, EVER had a washing machine do such a lousy job. I have never, ever, EVER been afraid to put clothing in a washing machine... not even in a cheap, crappy laundromat. We used our previous Maytag washing machine for about 15 years without any problems. But this machine on the first try was a big disappointment because it did not wash clothes very well. Clothes come out of washing machine smelling bad and you could see the soap scum on darker clothing. We try to return the machine to Home Depot after 3 days, but they said after 48 hours they could not take it back. So if there was any problems we had to call a technician to repair it. Well, there is nothing to repair because that's just the way the machine is designed to conserve water.
Worst washer and the customer service is even worse than this machine because they just keep repeating that if there is nothing to repair then, there is no problem. So, therefore it's not their responsibility. TERRIBLE!!! I even bought their extended warranty and that doesn't do anything with dissatisfaction on this product. If you are owner of this company or at least care about your company, you should stop making this kind of product, and listen to people's complaints!!! I had a 1 1/2 yr old front load washer. I was worried the filter might have a lot of dog hair in it so I called to just have it looked out. I couldn't remember if I had an extended warranty. Thought it would be listed with Maytag. They said no. I said OK. They recommended A+ to come out and said it would be $60.00. That was OK because I wanted to prevent any problems with the washer in the future. I thought them checking it would be a preventative measure. The tech came out opened it up said there wasn't much hair or any other problems. Put it back together, plugged it in. There was a Big popping noise and smoke! Washer no longer worked. The man said doesn't make sense but he would fix it and not charge me for parts etc. I called Maytag. They refused to do anything since it was out of warranty even though they recommended this company and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it in the beginning.
After about 2 months he still couldn't fix it. About this time I found papers for a warranty with the Home Depot. The repairman said he works with Home Depot as well. Told me to contact them but I needed to pay $120.00 to him and file a claim and then he would fix it. Apparently he does not do service work for Home Depot. They sent out other repairmen. They tried to fix it but apparently it was deemed unserviceable he blew the mother board. Home Depot said they would replace or reimburse me the amount I paid for washer. Then a machine called said they were sending me a check. We will probably never buy another Maytag! Even though I want to buy American if they won't help or stand behind their products. I now have an LG we bought from Pacific Sales with a cheaper warranty and much better customer service.

Bought machine 03/23/15 exactly 2 yrs ago & machine will not work. It looks like the electric panel and which there are a lot of complaints about the panel, and the lid. It seems as it's about the extended warranty now. The quality that Maytag advertises is lies. You buy the product and you have no choice but to purchase a warranty on your machine. Simple is better when it last 20 yrs over 2 yrs on a fancy machine. First electric panel machine washer with a horrible experience. It will cost 98 just to look at, that is not including parts and labor. It's 339.15 for a year warranty which equals over 300 per year for 3 years. Overpriced in all ways. Worse choice ever.

Like many I have never wasted my time writing a review, this time I have had it. Purchased all new appliances from Maytag, biggest mistake I have made in the last 10 years. Front loading washer is the main culprit. Doesn't clean clothes, have had to replace the rubber boot on the inside twice now, machine is only 3 years old. Maytag basically treats you like you're stupid, resend instructions like that will fix their broken P.O.S machine. I will never buy another Maytag and will be sure to let everyone know what a piece of garbage, from machine to company!
Sad that the overall reviews on my machine are 1.3/5 stars on Maytag's own website. Oddly, I cannot write any review on their site, Maytag must have realized what a POS they've been selling and now block reviews. I'm thinking that we should get enough owners together and file a class action lawsuit, maybe that would change their tune??? Never BUY MAYTAG, PLEASE keep in mind THEY are UNDER AN UMBRELLA with WHIRLPOOL and MANY OTHER MAJOR PLAYERS... Do not let them scam you the way they did me! If you work hard for your money spend it on a more reputable brand that will not try to stick it to you because they build junk!

I went to Home Depot in Kennesaw, Ga to purchase new W&D combo. I had found what I wanted but when the sales went to complete my order, the units I selected weren't available. She talked me into the Maytag Bravo, but I specifically stated I needed a large tub because I wash a lot of towels and sheets. Well this expensive piece of shhh, doesn't even get all the items wet. I've had to lift the lift and physically flip items in tub, especially with towels and sheets. Also, the washer is loud, did I say loud, I mean freaking loud. The dryer is fine, but I bought combo for a reason... Pricetag $1200.00 with my discount. I waited a week for delivery, I am mad as hell. I bought the Maytag Bravo XL MVWB725W washing machine and dryer pair in August of 2015. 2 months after I bought the pair the thermostat went out on the dryer. It was under warranty so it was fixed and no problems after that. In July of 2016 I have my first stainless steel hose break at the fitting because of corrosion flooding my laundry room. I thought it was a fluke so I put another one. The next hose started to corrode in September 2016. We thought there was some weird chemical reaction going on between the hose and the filter on the back of the machine. So we changed to rubber hoses in September. Since then we have gone through 6 sets of rubber hoses.
We have had the water company out, they say our water is fine. A plumber out, our new water heater is fine as is our plumbing. An electrician, who changed an outlet and put a grounding wire on our house water line. And an appliance repair man, he found the problem so he called Whirlpool who makes Maytag. There is corrosion on the water temp control. However nobody has EVER seen this problem and doesn't know how to fix it. Not even Whirlpool. And Whirlpool says it's my house. I'm at a dead end with a washer that is constantly going through hoses. It really doesn't wash clothes very well either unless you put a lot of stain remover on the clothing before and wash it in hot water. And yes it is noisy. Don't buy this product.

It looks like a bad rash but only on a washer. I think the company used inferior paint which can bubble up with the heat of the hot water during the wash cycle. I called the company but they do not cover "cosmetic" items on the warranty. I think since this was a flaw in the paint used they should at least replace the cover portion which would be an easy fix. Bravos XL was costly. Mistake! I owned my first Maytag for 20 plus years. The sticker shock of buying a new Maytag 4 years ago was pushed aside knowing how long my previous model lasted. I too have the jet plane from hell landing in my home for over 2 years now everytime the spin cycle engages. This is a two person family and it failed at 2 years?!?!?
As for water conservation... if I don't include the additional rinse cycle, my clothes don't get clean. Watched the YouTube on how to repair this unit... but what guarantee do I have that it won't go back to the same problem in another year? Can't afford another big investment like this now that I am retired, so I will run this baby until it seizes up. Don't wash clothes if company is coming or if you want to enjoy evening TV programs. My new 2017 Maytag washer Bravos XL MCT top load purchase has been very disappointing. I now regret I didn't try to return it in the first month as offered. It makes these horribly loud sounds that shake the house and make it impossible to sleep as you can hear throughout the house. You'd think new technology and $650 machine would be quiet. Several times we've had to restart because the rinse didn't get all the water out, and you can't select spin only. You must do a whole new rinse cycle. Stains don't come out, now we have to scrub before, where our 15 year old GE did a better job.
Surprisingly you don't even get stainless steel for this price, the most expensive and largest model they sold. We have 3 teenage boys and thought we would be able to wash large loads, in fact you can't or it won't spin them dry or clean them. When you select power wash it only uses hot water & takes over an hour (minimum 107 minutes, 120 with two rinse cycles) to wash with one rinse. I now wish I had bought a less expensive washer with a agitator, just glad I didn't buy the dryer now.

I had a tub failure on my washer Whirlpool Duet, which I bought brand new and it lasted 12 years with no problems. The dryer is still in use at my son's house. However, this failure lead me on a search for a set to replace the duet. I did some research and found the Maytag 6.2 Cu. Ft top loader and huge Dryer to match. The set was not cheap and it did have high marks for a great washer. So, I bought them both and had them delivered on 12/30/16. I have read all the owners manual and watched YouTube videos to see how to use this machine with all its pretty lights and sounds. I will concede that the machines look great, very impressive in my laundry room. I would bet it would even be a plus when I go to sell the house.
THAT is all the nice stuff I can say. The machine does not clean clothes and I have done all the settings. I have changed laundry detergents, and even tried to add a little more water with a bucket at the start of the wash. (Saw that one on YouTube.) REALLY. That did not work, nor should I have to do that to get it to clean well. The answer seems to be, set the machine on FULL tub of water. So, I tried that for a couple of times and found that the clothes just float around and since they do not touch the Wear Plate they don't get clean. My wife (yes, I am a man that does most of the laundry) said she hates the washer and I was an idiot for buying this expensive piece of metal that does nothing but take up space and leaves spots on your clothes. Have you heard the term Happy Wife-Happy Life. Well not so much for me now.
Spending money even $2,500.00 on a washer and dryer seems a little crazy. But I had the extra money and I have always wanted a MAYTAG. These guys know how to make a washer. Boy was I wrong, this machine must be an embarrassment to Maytag. I know I am really shocked that you would sell this machine as top of the line. I am not sure what Maytag will do, but I thought I would give you a chance to make this right. I have attached pictures of the machines installed and pictures of the model number plates. I have faith that Maytag will step up. My wife said this was a waste of time. The ball is in your court Maytag. (Come on Maytag let me win this one.) - Just a man and his dirty clothes.

The situation requires several loads of washing each day due to her conditions. TWO WEEKS after starting to use it we began having issues with the washer. It would stop in the cycle, lights flashing, only way to restart is to unplug it, move control from wash cycles setting to drain and spin... then within the next 3-4 loads it would do it again. Sometimes it sat for awhile I would smell like an "electronics Odor" getting hot... I called Lowe's. They replaced it. Approximately 3 weeks later the NEW washer began doing the SAME THING...
Lowe's would not replace it with a different Model or brand... only send a repairman out. Long story short, he has been here 4 times, replaced the "Computer Control" with NO IMPROVEMENT!!! NOW Lowe's is sending him out again and saying that if this doesn't fix the problem they will refund my money... My problem with it all is this... IF MAYTAG is having these type issues, WHY PRAY TELL, has a recall or solution been found and passed on to the repair folks??? I bought this Maytag due to #1 Reputation, #2 It was "Assembled" in the USA, NOT South Korea like the Samsung with recalls... Now all this is going on. I WANT A WASHING MACHINE THAT WORKS RIGHT!!! This is totally unacceptable and totally uncalled for. WHY could these Gov't agencies and Manufacturers not LEAVE the washers alone? Computer technology... PLTTT. The Maytag Bravos XL 850 Washer lasted just 4 years, and then started sounding like an Airplane, LOUD Airplane starting up as it went into spin cycles.
According to the repairman and the parts diagnostics online, it would be about $400 in parts and $200 in labor and is NOT COVERED in Warranty. Yes $600 of repairs after 4 years.. Not doing it. They say the inner drum is covered, (what goes wrong with a stainless inner drum really) but the bearings, seal and outer drum is NOT covered. So don't bother with extra years of warranty. Like Ron Paul said, "we have toilets that don't flush and washers that don't wash thank you environmentalists." No agitators I suppose were to reduce energy too. Well our cloths seldom smelled fresh and we were careful not to put in too much soap because heaven knows, that is the first thing a dishwasher or washer tech will tell you.. IT'S YOUR FAULT.. You used two tablespoons instead of one. This is all BS.
We just bought a GE for 35% less money, has manual dials, has PREsoak settings in 15 minute increments, has an agitator, has dials that let you set whatever levels you want and not preelectronic programmed. When it breaks, We won't call a repair man. We will fill the frigging Landfills with more of this crap so I hope you environmentalist are happy. We used to get 20 years or more out of our appliances. I hope they are proud of their work. I think Donald might say, for every two environmentalist washers we throw away, we need to bring back machines that will last that with both wash clothes CLEAN, and have replaceable affordable parts.

So far after 5 calls and over two hours spent on calls IMPOSSIBLE to get an answer from Maytag about the correct fill levels of detergent. Consumer support simply do not know and refuse to direct me to anyone or have anyone call that does know answer. WHY SO IMPORTANT? Either you do not get clothes clean OR you damage machine and leave residue on clothes! Neither is acceptable. Using the fill level indicator on Bravos XL dispenser is in direct contradiction to any recommended levels on lids of high efficiency detergent manufacturers like Tide. Per Maytag manual only fill detergent to max fill LINE which is literally about two or three tablespoons of detergent. The lowest possible quantity of Tide per the lines on lid even for smallest load is two or three times the recommended fill level on the dispenser.
No one has to be an engineer to know two tablespoons of HE detergent in dispense is going to do same effective cleaning for one shirt or towel as it will with a queen size comforter or very large full capacity load. CORRECT ANSWER DETERMINES IF YOU DAMAGE WASHER OR IF YOU HAVE DIRTY CLOTHES. Googling online there is also no answer. Such a critical answer for Maytag washer to work and clean clothes that is simply not available and documentation is wrong is a huge concern about the viability of this machine and worse their support. Our machine is less than two months old but is obviously over-engineered to the point of just being silly. Tip to Maytag: start selling washboards. More energy efficient, more green except for red and blue bruised knuckles, uses one tenth as much water and users do not need to spend their nest egg savings to buy.
Not the first but will be the last Maytag product we will buy. Name may be same but the company is definitely not the company that used to enjoy that name with pride. SUMMARY: Maytag is adamant about using the correct amount of HE detergent OR damage and bad performance by washer and dirty clothes with a detergent residue. With all our best efforts we cannot get what that quantity of detergents is supposed to be. The user manual at best has ambiguous answer. The manual suggest horizontal measure of detergent in tray to max fill level which cannot be right. IF you instead use a vertical measure of how high detergent level comes up to the max fill line the quantity is radically different. It says dispenser holds 3 oz which would be beyond max fill level but nowhere near a vertical fill level.

The issue is that almost every wash of dark clothes comes out with soap scum on almost everything. This is after numerous adjustments and reading the instructions over and over, and using minimal good quality liquid laundry soap and even running an extra rinse and trying different cycles like the Heavy Duty wash. We have to go to the laundromat and pay 70 a week for laundry, plus the time, and we are out all the money. We paid Home Depot (thousands) for a washer and matching dryer. Plus all the takeout we had to order while they repaired the kitchen, but the strain of this whole thing is ridiculous.

We have had this washer and dryer set for 5 years now and have never had a problem. The washer is top-load and does not have a central agitator but works like a front load - very easy of clothes and cleans well. The dryer has automatic shut-off when clothes are dry and also a wrinkle resist feature. And, due to the steam feature, we also use the dryer to refresh coats, pillows or anything else.

Purchase this machine Bravo XL Top Load Washer in Dec of 2016, noticed right away every load of dark clothes comes out of the washer with a scummy lint residue on them, some of the clothes are not completely wet when you take them out of the machine. Have talked to Maytag and tried their suggestions that did not work. Seems like a canned speech reading some of the other reviews. I absolutely love this Maytag Bravos XL washing machine... I bought this machine before doing any research because of a sale and then after reading multitudes of reviews... positive and negative... I thought I had made a mistake. The absolutely most important thing with this machine is to load it properly and select the proper wash cycles. You must stack your clothes around the outside of the drum leaving the center open. You must use HE detergent. This is a Commercial grade washer and is meant to be loaded. The twisting and wringing of clothes is because of the high speed nature of the spin cycle (commercial). If you have never been to a public laundromat then you should try it and see what those machines do to your clothes. I too was apprehensive about the water levels at first... So I stood there for an entire cycle multiple time and on diff settings.
The machine is constantly adding water as needed and each time after about 10 min... no matter the size load I put in. The clothes eventually were covered by water. Have had no issues with clothes that come out dry in spots. I suspect this is due to improper loading. Again my info on using this machine... loading techniques etc.. all came from positive reviewers stressing the importance of these key factors. This machine was not designed or intended for light or delicate use. So if you do a lot of those type loads perhaps this machine is not for you. As for the loudness and banging I have read about I have not experienced that. I have read reviews that the problem in some case ended up being metal or plastic drip pans used under the machine. Mine sits on concrete. Anyway hope this helps someone out.

I would buy the same maker should I need to replace them.

Maytag Bravos top load washing machine - This is the worst washing machine I have ever used. Like some of the other complaints it leaves lint on your clothing. It does not put enough water in the machine. The so called smart technology that senses your load does a terrible job. Your clothing is halfway out of the water, with dry spots, even after 10 minutes of agitation. I am constantly adding 3 to 5 gallons of water to my loads to get things in the water. And if I want to let thing soak for a while you have to unplug the machine, because after 10 minutes it will automatically drain the water out. 2 years of dissatisfaction. I can't wait for it to die. I should have come to this site first. Never buy a machine without an agitator!

WORST MACHINE EVER! Besides the soap scum Maytag Bravos XL Washer leaves on all of our jeans and my husband's work pants, the machine decides when it wants to work and when it does not want to work. We've had repairmen over, we have called the 800 numbers, just like all of the other reviews on here. I've readjusted clothes in that thing more than I've done laundry in my life!!! I HATE this machine. I've memorized the manual from reading it so many times, have the correct detergents, tried washing large loads, small loads, lined up the clothes around the outside so the middle thingie is not covered, thrown clothes loosely in there. Every way possible. The machine senses, starts filling, then just stops. Today, no matter what I do with the load in there, it will NOT run, it keeps shutting itself down and I do not even know what else to do. NEVER EVER EVER buy this machine! I have been washing clothes in different washers for almost 4 decades and never had a terrible washer until now. It has total control of the water level and it NEVER has enough water added. I have to add at least 2 full dish pans of water to every load. My washer does not allow you to pick your level because it does it automatically and no there's way to bypass this problem. It moans and groans for almost an hour in slow motion at its best. It should be illegal to sell such crap!
If the intent was to save energy it fails when it runs twice as long as other washers. The instructions that are in the lid say that when you set it on deep water wash that it does not sense automatically-LIES! This lid must be generically made for other washers that they have because again, you cannot choose a water level. When a washer runs for almost an hour (this is not soak or extra rinse either) it is not saving energy over those that run for half that length of time. I wish I had returned it, but I listen to others who say that this is how washers are now. I still owe 150.00 on it and hate writing that check.

I called the warranty number, as I had properly registered the machine on the day of install. Said he would have a new drive motor out to me in 7 to 10 weeks. Yes. WEEKS. Really? I advised the operator that 3 parts stores in my area had the part available, and asked if there wasn't something we could do. He said no they are back ordered. The really frustrating part is the low water levels (and even 'bulky' is less than a half a bin of water. I am attaching a photo with two sets of sheets, a towel and three wash cloths). Most cycles only put about two inches of water in the bin - appalling. And the long long long cycles - what is energy-saving about having to do a load twice and using more than an hour for one cycle? They told her to not use this setting... buy this detergent... only use cold water etc. Never did they offer a repair guy to come out. A year passes still having issues she's out of warranty. They now offer a repair guy but claim they're going to charge her $90. Once she explains to them that she was never offered a repair guy & they should've done this before. They decided to waive this fee and send a repair guy.
Once the technician comes out to the house they do absolutely nothing and they fill it up with water say we need to clean it and I'll come back out and do another diagnostic. When they come back all they do is fill it up with water get a glass check the water and say, "Nope, no floating residue. Everything's fine." They then tell her she needs to get a water softener which is going to be hundreds of dollars.
The technician also says do not use any other settings except for these two. Can someone please explain to me why they have all these dang buttons and settings if we're not supposed to be using any of them and why all of the clothes come out with soap residue scummy residue all over them? The old washer never did this. It was a Kenmore and it's the same water same everything but this Maytag washer is been nothing but problems. It leaves the residue which is stripped all over dark and white clothes, it is extremely loud, not all the clothes even get wet! Maytag is been extremely uncooperative with assisting my Nana. They tell her no one else not one other person is having this problem but when I look up this issue I find that about 2500 people on this forum are having very similar problems.
Something has to be done. Maytag should have to take responsibility for this washer. The bottom line is it supposed to be an XL. When my grandparents are washing it's only for two people. They're not even filling that washer up of all of the clothes are not even getting wet. It just goes to show you that the energy-efficiency that they claim is not working. The washer's not getting enough water inside of it. It's not fully rinsing the clothes and no one should have to put the clothes in wash them then do a whole another rinse cycle just to get the dang soap off. So basically at this point she stuck having to do multiple washes using way more utilities than she should have to and Maytag is basically going to do nothing. It won't help her over the phone the technician is a joke and it looks like so many of you people are having the same issues.

Unbelievable, not enough water to clean clothing. Clothing comes out with some dry spots. And the worse thing is washing black items, tiny particles on black pants, shirts, etc. Think is lint not soap but not sure. You have to rub all over the clothing to try and remove. Lots of banging noises during operation also.
I have invested a lot of money thinking Maytag is rated high. It is a pretty grey color with glass top. This past weekend, it didn't work at all. Just sat for hours with the "sensing" and "washing" lights on, without actually "washing" the clothes. The machine was packed loosely with the correct amount of High Efficiency Detergent in the proper place.
I called the #Sears store I purchased the appliance from (Braintree Ma.) and they said there was nothing they could do as it was past 30 days, gave me their "customer solutions" number which is basically a call center with people who I could barely hear and/or understand. They in turn gave me more phone numbers which seemed to me to be in the same call center. I want to return the 4 month old washing machine that doesn't work and I want my money back. I've filed a report with the Massachusetts Attorney General Consumer Affairs Department. I will NEVER AGAIN shop at #Sears and I will NEVER AGAIN purchase a #Maytag appliance. I am beyond disappointed in #Sears and #Maytag, both names that used to mean quality and customer service. And if there's a class action lawsuit to be filed, please count me in.

This review is pretty simple, if you have kids, do not buy this washer! I just went to the local wholesale guy after almost 8 months of using this POS, and spent $200 on a older agitator machine, after the first load my 7 year old close came clean of dirt! There is literally no water and the motion of the drum, it is almost impossible for this machine to clean clothes. I really am surprised that no one has started a class action. And to anyone saying the are hog farmers and work outside and get dirty? I would love to see it first hand. I am going to post on YouTube and show what this machine really does. Think about this before you buy, We all get hooked on how big it is, thinking you can do 4 loads at once, but trust me the low water thing is real! How do you clean clothes with no water! You will regret this purchase. And I am a Maytager for life! So disappointing.

I have done absolutely nothing to this dryer except keep the lint screen clean. Have had it for 15 years. Keeps on tickin'. It is used daily. Sometimes 3-4 times a day. The outside looks rough. But who cares. I bought a new lg washer with great looks and had it just a year and 2 weeks. Had to spend another $200 on it. Still doesn't work right. I'm Maytag all the way!!! It is a simple dryer. But it is a workhorse. It was a gift from my mother and have so much appreciated it. It has been an amazing piece of equipment. From now on I will only look for the maytag brand for whatever appliance I purchase.

We have owned a Maytag Commercial Centennial washer for 4 years and made the mistake of not buying an extended warranty as we thought Maytag was dependable and a reputable company and thought the manufacturer's 10 year limited warranty would cover us. Washer would not spin clothes properly, started making loud noises, lid would not always unlock as time went on, and finally it broke and soaked my tile and it ran through my wall into my hall carpet. Called Maytag and was told we didn't have a 10 year limited parts warranty 6 times (we still have the book that says we do), they offered us a 1 year full warranty for $320.00. We purchased the warranty 11/04/16, Called Maytag as no one knew where the parts were and was told service plan is through AIG. AIG couldn't tell us where the parts were either and when I asked for our refund and we just buy a new washer they advised me they would have to prorate it.
Now I feel held hostage. Parts finally come in and Maytag Certified repair man comes to repair machine on 11/30/16, only to be told they could not fix our washer as the screws and transmission rotted and fused to tub. Call Maytag as this should be under my warranty and everyone insists I don't have a warranty. Filed complaint 11/30/16, they sent me a survey on 12/2/16 and I filed my complaint again on the survey. No call from Maytag. Call back on 12/06/16 to be told the survey was them closing my complaint. Now they escalate my complaint and will be called in 48 hours and give me an email address to email my pictures of my warranty. Surprise no call back, so I called them again 12/08/16 and I am advised it takes 3-5 business days. Ask for supervisor and he told me even if I have warranty they will only cover the basket.
I will have to pay for technician, and other parts. Still no info on my complaint and you can't talk to anyone just have to wait. I emailed Jeff Fettig CEO of Whirlpool (Whirlpool owns Maytag) as well on 12/6/16 a copy of my complaint with pictures of warranty. The bottom line is Maytag sells junk and their customer service is worse than their product. After being without a washing machine since 11/04/16 we will be buying something Whirlpool does not own which is very limited which is why they can get away with making junk.

It just keeps going. Still looks great. We have had our Maytag Neptune analog dryer for over 20 years. It has dried a usual 3 loads a day, with very little maintenance. We have replaced the motor, blower, and support rollers, but these are parts that were just wear and tear items, after years of extraordinary use. It has outlasted 3 or 4 washing machines.

I moved into an apartment home in June 2016. My apartment was furnished with all new appliances. The washer & dryer were purchased in May 2016. I live alone so on average I do 1 load of laundry per week. In November I noticed paint peeling on the inside of the dryer drum. Each time I use the dryer more paint peels. I contacted Maytag because I figured the dryer was still under some type of warranty. They sent out a technician only to tell me this was a "cosmetic" problem and cosmetic problems are not covered under the 10 year warranty. I would need an authorization code from Maytag "if" it was covered under warranty.
Again, I contacted Maytag and now they want to send another technician for a second opinion. I don't feel this is "cosmetic" because the dryer is only 6 months old and already the paint is peeling. I feel this is a product defect because this type of problem shouldn't happen on a new appliance. I have scheduled an appointment for a second opinion and if he says it's "cosmetic" then I have to pay out of pocket for the repairs to fix the problem. I thought Maytag stood by their product and customer satisfaction was a top priority. I guess I was wrong.

My disappointment with this washer (Bravos xl) is that it smells moldy and musty no matter what I do. I clean with affresh when light comes on, leave the top open, etc. I have tried cleaning it with baking soda and vinegar poured down the detergent opening. Water does not drain from the bleach or softener openings. I have resorted to using baking soda in every single wash and adding an extra rinse to keep my clothes from smelling. The laundry room always smells. I would go back to an agitator in a heart beat if this hadn't been so expensive. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE.

My family purchased a New Maytag Washer and dryer about 1 1/2 years ago! Thinking that the name was far more Superior than anything we could afford! What a piece of junk! The washer is nothing but flashing codes! Unlevel this and always stopping and starting over with a wash, when in fact it doesn't shake and bounce itself into the middle of the floor! As best as I can describe, it literally needs Hurricane straps to hold it down! You can never wash a full load because it can't handle it! Now! Onto the pathetic dryer! Several weeks after they were installed was the first scenario with the dryer! We had a representative that does work for Maytag warranty to come and work on it, after telling me over the phone that if in fact the "lint trap" had lint in it, that I would have to pay the service call! Funny!!
So after diagnosis he said the belt broke that runs the exhaust fan! He said it was fixed and went on his merry way! Several months down the road! Same routine! Broken belt that runs the exhaust fan! And once again several more months down the road! Guess what!!! Yep!! Broken belt that runs the exhaust fan!!! So now here we are! I am now into the extended warranty that I purchased from the furniture store which was almost an additional $250.00! And voila!!! It's broken again! So being the fed up person that knows what the answer is going to be, I take the front off the dryer like I have seen done so many times before!!! And what to my surprise do I find?? Another Broken Belt!!! So I am wondering!! Why so many broken belts!
So I take my flashlight and look at the motor and housing that holds the exhaust fan and I notice that in fact the housing that holds the exhaust fan is BROKEN! Therefore, this is the cause for so many broken belts!!! Well, who should be responsible??? I contacted the extended warranty people! What a waste of time! After setting an appointment for Sears to come work on the dryer and after explaining on several Recorded Phone conversations what has taken place! The service man comes to my home and not even 1 minute after entering tells me that he can't work on it because I have "self diagnosed " my dryer! What was the purpose in me explaining to them beforehand what I found??? Why didn't they mention then that I should not have taken it apart or hey put the front back on!!!
Now after causing a ruckus with the furniture company that I have spent well over $50000 with!! They want to supply me with a 1 time Customer Courtesy!!! Of repairing the dryer!!! Oh did I mention that I am a Professional Diesel Mechanic for a major Trucking Company that is far more capable of diagnosing something like this than evidently the person they sent the first 3 times!! NEVER AND I REPEAT, NEVER BUY ANYTHING MAYTAG!!!

The washer was purchased with the largest tub because I wanted to be able to wash a full load of sheets or a blanket. NOT!!! It gets off balanced, twists every single item (as in blue jeans, towels, soft t-shirts, etc...any weight or size) into a huge mess and has actually ruined some of my clothing. I have NEVER written a review however I am compelled to write up and if I can save at least 1 family from making the mistake I did then my review will be worth it so just before Christmas last year I treated myself to a new washer. I looked at so many. Only 2 things on my wish list were 1) American Made and 2) have a large capacity for blankets and bedding. Well, I was so excited about my Maytag Bravos XL Washer but my excitement didn't last long. 4. There is a major design flaw in this machine. I have given it plenty of time and have tried to talk myself to liking it but when you have to wash the white loads at least 3 times to get them clean and still not getting the results expected then it's time to admit to yourself that I made a mistake.
The large capacity drum is an irrelevant because once the clothes are wet they become too heavy for the drum base to actually agitate the clothes. What ends up actually happening is your wet clothes sit in a pile. The user tends to scale the loads back to help the machine. The above problem is partly due to the fact that the machine NEVER fills up the drum with enough water to submerge the clothes where perhaps they would be able to move freely with the base agitator and the drum rotating. This model was marketed as water conserving however we find ourselves washing loads 2-4 times to achieve the desired outcome. Conserving water at this point is a joke... we end up using more water and energy to get a load of clothes clean.
Bleach dispenser does not empty completely during the white cycle even when less than recommended measurements are used. If a load of whites needs to be washed we have to wash with bleach on the 1st go, and then 2 more cycles without bleach. Otherwise anything washed after the whites gets spots of bleach on them. For these and many more reasons this machine should NOT be on the market and especially not for over $800 USD! And I would not want this product to represent US production. It does not deliver on any of it's selling points and is overpriced.

Purchased the Bravos XL top load washer a month ago. We work outside daily and our clothes get very dirty. I haven't really taxed the machine yet (I'm doing what I consider a normal load of wash. I know the machine could handle twice as many clothes as it's the 5.3 cubic feet washer, but I haven't had that many clothes to put in at one time). The washer works great. Clothes are clean and smell fresh.
For those that say this washer is extremely loud - you must not have something set up incorrectly. Either the wet pan you put under the machine is making contact with parts it shouldn't or someone didn't level it properly. Really, this is NOT a loud machine. We purchased from Lowe's and they delivered, set up and leveled both the washer and dryer. (Yes, we also purchased the matching Bravos XL front load dryer and were impressed that it dries our clothes in half the time our old one did). We would definitely recommend the Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer.

Maytag Washer 2016 HE top loader. This washer is horrible to use. I hate everything about it. After your clothes are put into the drum and you close lid to start here is what happens EVEN though I select deep water: it puts small amount of water in and then it agitates the whole big load. This is so stupid! Can you imagine a large load of your clothes agitating with a very small amount of water in the drum?
So to get around that problem, you have to push pause button and shut the lid after your soap, softener and then listen until that first amount of water fills and agitates, then you have to push pause and quickly put in your clothes. Then you shut the lid and again push the start button so it will fill with more water. Then if you're lucky in at least an hour your load is finally finished". I hate this washer. My boyfriend bought it and I asked him several times to PLEASE return it. He didn't so now we're stuck with it for God knows how long. The one good thing about this is I will know to never buy one of these for my house.

Maytag Bravos XL Washer and Dryer. How exciting to get a new washer/dryer!! I'm a savvy bargain and quality shopper, but I really messed up here. A little over a year ago, we moved from IL back to TX and I got to buy a new washer AND dryer at the same time (a rarity). I went and looked at SO many washers/dryers and decided on the Maytag Bravos XL because a friend said she loved hers. It had a deep water wash and bedding cycle (for our blankets, comforters, sleeping bags, etc), and I thought that I could throw that wayward sock in after I started the load (unlike our previous front load washer).
Where do I begin with the complaints? (And I'm NOT a complainer - never filled out a review in my life). This is what I sent to Maytag: 1) I'm 5'5" tall and can barely reach the items at the bottom of the drum, along with the lid falling on my head when I'm trying to do so. 2) Forget throwing in the wayward sock - it must finish the cycle it's in before it will let you unlock the lid (Where did locked lids come from anyway? Is that how those missing socks are disappearing - escaping out of unlocked lids? What are we trying to keep in or who are we trying to keep out of the machine? Doors you lock - not washing machines! I don't get it!).
3) Even the deep water/bedding wash cycle does not do the job. Using the exact recommended measurement of HE liquid soap does not get the items clean. What a chore to take something out and have white detergent lines all over it and have to wipe it down with a wet cloth. Sure, I could then do a rinse and spin cycle, but since it doesn't add enough water, it doesn't come out much better. The machine "senses" by weight how much water to use. I am positive that every energy efficient machine is now programmed to add exactly 4 cups of water per load (regardless if it's a comforter or one pair of jeans).
4) Supposedly, we are saving so much water usage, but "energy efficient" is a misnomer - it takes me twice as long to do laundry now. The time factors are ridiculous. There are no quick cycles on this machine. If I have a load of delicate tops that just need a quick wash and rinse before I hang them out (I was not out baling hay in them, so it's not like they are filthy dirty. In Texas, its the sweat that you are trying to eliminate), the least amount of time I can find on a cycle is 45 minutes. I might as well hand wash them all and be done in 5 minutes. But, that was the point of the washing machine - to do the work for me! And forget the deep water wash cycle of 58 minutes, plus the added rinse and spin cycle (to try and remove the white soap line). It's now taken one and one-half hours to try and clean/refresh a barely soiled comforter.
5) The spin cycle is SO efficient, that I have items come out totally dry many times in certain spots. I'm washing a comforter right now and I can guarantee you that when I remove it from the washer, there will be an entire section that looks like it never even got wet. I'm no engineer, but after watching through the see-through lid, the agitation is not working well enough to get to every section.
6) I haven't seen a soap bubble or suds yet. You are told to use such a small amount of detergent, I'm not sure how anything actually gets clean. The clothes are sprinkled with water, agitated a small amount, spun until they are almost dry and voila - the same dirty clothes come out! 7) The dryer has now ruined 2 of my bras as the hooks get caught in the mesh panel at the back. It literally melted part of the bra! I tried hooking them together before I threw them in there, but now have to put them in a lingerie bag to keep them from being mauled and mutilated. I have NEVER in 37 years of marriage and washing had that happen before.
8) I literally could not get my dryer to turn on and a repairman had to come out to the house to show me the amount of pressure I had to use in one finger to start the dryer. I had almost taken a hammer to it before he arrived. Can you imagine pressing the start button on anything - the dishwasher, a hair dryer, a TV remote control, and it not turning on? And all because you pressed too hard or too light? This computer age and electronic panels are killing me! 9) The dryer has the same "locking system" as the washing machine. So, if you didn't see the wayward sock on the floor or between the two units until after you pushed (lightly, of course) the start button, you have to stop the unit before you can open the door to throw the sock in.
I didn't mean to write a novel (about a washer and dryer, no less)! But, I feel better and hope that I have saved one woman from making the same mistake I did. Read those reviews AND believe them. And by the way, my friend who recommended the Bravos XL to me looked at mine and said "That's NOT my washer and dryer." Evidently, mine was the "new and improved" version! So much for that claim!

I wrote the below to Maytag on their FaceBook page, of course haven't heard anything back from them. Adding this on since I forgot about it, I have dogs and wash their blankets often, not that they're dirty just for the dog smell. I have to wash them on the sanitize cycle which is an 1.5 hours long because if I use the normal cycle which is only 43 minutes they come out smelling exactly the same way they went in. I saw someone else post that their mother's front loader doesn't put in enough water so I'm wondering if that's what happens to mine. So wish I would have checked the reviews before buying, thought I was getting a great washer buying Maytag.
This is what I wrote on their FB page: I bought a Maytag front loading washer on 5/10/16 which was delivered and set up on 5/13/16. On Wednesday 10/19/16 it stopped working, so just over 5 months from the day it was installed. I called your company on 10/20/16 for repairs, they couldn't get here until today, 10/24, so 5 days with no washer. The customer service rep had all the details on what happened and I'm sure passed them along to the repair company. He ran diagnostics, said it was the drain pump which was obvious even to me, but claimed to not have one with him even though they were in stock. Can't make it back until Wednesday, so two more days with no washer.
He then proceeded to tell me that the dryer had to come off (stacked on top since the washer is a front loader) before he got back, that the warranty wouldn't cover two people coming out. So I'm supposed to spend more money to hire someone to come out, take off the dryer and then pay them again to come back and put it back on. I called the customer service department again and was told they don't cover "installation" which stacking is. She said the warranty doesn't cover stacked units, as far as I can find that isn't stated in the warranty so please let me know where that is stated in writing.
So I have a just over 5-month-old washer that needs repair already (bodes well for the future doesn't it??), will be without a washer for almost a week because the repairman didn't bring the most obvious part with him (maybe wanted to be paid for two calls?) and have to pay someone else for "installation" so it can be fixed. So where's the Maytag man? I am not a happy customer and will be letting as many people know as possible. I'll be in the market for other new appliances soon, will sure as hell make sure they're not made by Maytag, Whirlpool et all.
