Purchased 356.83 sq ft of 12mm laminate. Great price, on sale. Purchased on Jan 6, product to be in on January 11. My Grandson picked it up and the next day (Jan 12) when I looked at the order I found that the flooring was there but no transitions (one for two carpeted doorways and one for two laminate to laminate doorways). I called the store and asked about the transition pieces and was told they were on order and would be in in several days and they would call me. I told the salesman at that time that I did not appreciate the subterfuge of not telling me that the order was missing some items and that I didn't want to make two trips. If I had been told I would have waited to pick it all up at one time.

I called again on January 25th and was told that they had laminate to laminate transition but not the laminate to carpet but the COMPUTER says it's in transit and should arrive Friday Jan 26th or Monday Feb 1 at the latest. Called today and asked if my transitions had arrived... NO the one is still in transit, it should be in any day. I told him that they had been telling me that for 20 days and that I could ship the pieces to Siam in that amount of time. He replied that all he could do was tell me what the computer said. I told him I didn't want to talk to a ** computer, that I wanted to get someone to trace the shipment. Before I got the sentence out of my mouth he hung up on me.

I called Lumber Liquidators National "Customer Care" number, again she could only tell me what the COMPUTER said and now the COMPUTER showed that my pieces would arrive on the 6th. She explained that ALL they could do was check the computer. It is strange though that they all get different answers from the computer. So here I sit, upstairs all torn up, all laminate installed, carpet folded back at one door and the top of the stairs and can't install either door because I don't have the transitions. Make sure you have ALL your product before laying the very first piece of laminate. This is a velvet trap. You have no choice after you have all your flooring down.

in June 2015 we hired Lumber Liquidators to come into our home and install flooring. When they came to measure, the man stole jewelry. Through our efforts and the police, we were able to track it down across state lines into Ms. pawn shops. No one will work with us to get expenses back that we had to incur. I have tried to get someone to help me, but no one cares enough to call me back from corporate on down. It is Disgusting how a thief can come in your home and no one wants to take Responsibility.

We purchased about $7,000 in flooring on a sale. We asked about an installer and they provided the name for us. The installer came and worked on the project for about a week, and then we never saw or heard from him again. The job is still about 10% unfinished (and what part is done is very poor workmanship with gaps and no molding between the kitchen and hall transition) and when we contacted Lumber Liquidators they simply told us that the installers don't work for them and therefore, customers hire them at their own risk.

I then talked to the store manager who also blew me off. I called and spoke with several people at the corporate office and everyone I talked to refused to concern themselves at all with the situation. Horrible service - will never do business with them again. For my next flooring project, I went with the Home Depot and they performed with professionalism, finished the job and did it right.

My 76 year old mother saved for years for her new bamboo floor. It was purchased and installed by Lumber Liquidators in Norman, OK. After a year the edges started turning up, known as "cupping". My mother called to complain and the company sent an investigator out. The floor guys who helped the investigator said that the crew that installed my mother's floor had been fired for poor workmanship, with L.L. having to replace several faulty floors. When the floor was pulled up there was almost no glue, which acts as the moisture barrier thus the cupping.

Regardless of the known issues with the installation crew however, and regardless of the investigator's findings, the company won't replace my mother's floor because she called 3 DAYS AFTER THEIR 1 YEAR CUTOFF. While they may be within their legal rights here, this is poor business and is unethical. I would STRONGLY urge anyone to shop elsewhere and to avoid any Lumber Liquidator location.

I purchased hardwood flooring from Lumber Liquidators on Tuesday. 1300 sq ft at $4.80 a sq ft. I asked if this could be cancelled if wasn't right or if I was unable to pick it up in Orlando, 2 hours away from my home. They said yes. My contractor recommended that I didn't use hardwood flooring over concrete slab. I couldn't work out details to rent a truck or drive it, so I called to cancel and they said they would. I called later that day to make sure it had been done for I was purchasing somewhere else an engineered hardwood floor. They said it had been refunded. It's now Saturday and they still haven't refunded my credit card. I've had several discussions with them between then and now and they won't refund. What can I do? I don't have the product, it wasn't being delivered to me. I don't have the money to pay credit card for it was spent on flooring somewhere else.

After purchasing our flooring (about 930 sq ft), we unpackaged and went through the flooring. We returned all but about 3 boxes due to severe deficiencies scratches, breaks from tie downs on shipping. We received replacement flooring about 3 weeks after contacting them. Next, the flooring acclimated in the house for about 7 months as I was deployed. We started to install as a floating floor and after the first 4 rows we noticed that the millwork was very horrible. For example, the board would slide together at one end but leave a horrible gap at the other end. We swapped board out and thought we had it... but after more flooring was put in it was evident it wasn't going to stick together.

We had to use a specific glue on the "tongue and groove" because they wouldn't stay together. The tongue and groove was not a locking tongue and groove either, they just slid together which I've never seen. I called Lumber Liquidators and they said this was normal, both gapping and slide tongue and groove. My flooring has had ample time to acclimate to the house, however in places it is starting to buckle and I know we left enough space all around the edges. The transition strips were warped and the T moulding fails to sit correctly. I installed an engineer hardwood because my subfloor is concrete.

Lumber liquidators says there isn't anything they can do and the issues I'm having are because of installing it incorrectly. I have installed hardwood and laminate flooring before and I have never seen flooring cut like this or be so frail. If anything is dropped on the floor it immediately has a dent or a scratch. We cleaned the floor with mild soap and a little water and it started showing areas of water damage down the edges. I will never spend another dime at this organization again, and I will encourage others to spend their money elsewhere as they will get a better product.

They then told me the only thing they could do is store credit. Don't think I want to give this place any more of my business. On October 3rd 2015, I went to Lumber Liquidators here in Duluth, GA location to purchase a wood floor for my home improvement. They advertised having sales and I went there for the sales. The sales associated, Jonathan, sold me the advertised floor and recommended to have 10% margin for waste and told me that the floor is 5 years warranty. Also he told me the company had it on clearance due to the fact they want to get rid of it for new products. I was happy with the sale. The product was not in the store and suppose to be shipped to the store for pickup. When I received the hardwood floor, and my contractor was preparing to install, I realized that all the 1st six package of the hardwood floor were damage, more than 80%. It is only waste they sold me.

I contacted the store for exchange to another product. They refused and told me that the product is non-refundable or exchangeable to another product. I filed the claim to Lumber Liquidators about the issue as this is not different as a scammed or robbery. I was chocked to the claim representative, Amanda, who said that I agreed to buy a product, an odd lot product, which means that the product did not pass Lumber Liquidators' inspection and that why it was on clearance, therefore there is no return. I can't believe with that statement, a company can sell product that didn't pass the company inspection and standard. As an Electrical Engineer, when a product failed the inspection, the product is not to be sold to the public. I can't believe a company can sell defected product and they are aware about it.

The sale associate Jonathan didn't tell me the product is defective and didn't pass the company inspection. Also, I can't believe a company like Lumber Liquidators can advertised online for product that did not pass the company's inspection to consumers. This is the biggest SCAM and ROBBERY EVER in my life. Even though the product has 5 years warranty, they said the product doesn't have any warranty and I was aware about it. This is another biggest LIES ever. This is like you go to the store to buy a $3000 product and the sale associate told you the product doesn't have any warranty and failed the inspection, and you still buy the product. This is unheard of. The biggest scam ever.

At least make it easier to cancel an order since you don't have the stock. Meaning out of stock = no charge. A customer should not have to be told by their local store that the website over sold the item but to call the 800#, in which, I had to speak with three people in order to get someone to follow up with me in 24 to 48 hrs to cancel my order and issue a refund. This was my first and considering my only experience with LL. By the way, help your operators sound a little more caring. This was my third flooring project with Lumber Liquidators products and it was another good experience. I purchased 2,000 sf of 3/4" pre-finished T&G Maple - 3 - 1/4" wide and used a pneumatic stapler to staple it to a plywood subfloor with quiet floor underlayment. I bought 6% extra so I would have enough to cull any warped or blemished pieces but only needed 3-4%. And of the boards I did not use, most just had small imperfections and I will use them later in another small project. The boxes had a good variation of random length boards and the color and grain was very consistent throughout. And a shout out for the West Knoxville location salesman who was very helpful throughout selection, purchase and loading. Great job guys!

If you file a warranty claim and complain about the flooring, and customer service states, "It's always the installation, never the floors," is that really accurate or are they just passing the blame? I live in the South and it's humid, but how is it possible to have an installed floating bamboo floor that's 9 month old continue to expand? Like my installer said, "You have a living floor." When a curtain was drawn and the floor was exposed to some warm sunshine for several hours it buckled. Does having heavy furniture impede the expansion? When the temperature outside is moderate and the AC/heat doesn't run, does that throw off the required perfect balance of temperature/humidity necessary for the floors? All I can say is buyer beware.

We recently purchased an old farm in Orland. The renovation of the kitchen involved stripping out everything to the studs, all 4 walls, ceiling and floor. We purchased bamboo flooring from the Brewer store, Morning Star Bamboo, MS Forbidden City Bam, 7/16 x 3 3/4. Local store support was questionable and that directions for installation were wrong, and what should have taken a couple of days, took a week and a half. In fact, the product was so difficult to install, we took back all we had purchased to do the dining room and got our money back.

We are now less than a year from install and the finish on the product is literally wearing off. It scratches at the drop of a hat and the commercials noting its toughness certainly cannot be proved by us. We have contacted the warranty folks at Lumber Liquidators who assured me that 48 hours after filling out their paperwork I'd be contacted. That was 456 hours ago and 4 follow-up emails later, we still have not heard from Lumber Liquidators. Buyer beware - the product did not live up to company claims and they do not get back to you. Not only do I need to replace the floor but all the finish work, cabinets, and appliances were installed after laying this floor. Again, buyer beware.

Updated on 02/02/2016: An update to our November 10, 2015 Ray of Orland, ME posting. A brief overview of the problem is in order. We purchased flooring from the Lumber Liquidators (LL) local store, Brewer Maine, in December of 2014. The flooring was installed sometime in February 2015 as we completely gutted the kitchen for which the flooring was purchased. Now, here we are approximately 10 months later and we have panels that the finish is literally wearing off. We noticed it almost 3 months ago and as you might expect it just keeps getting worse.

We contacted the local outlet and they referred me to corporate. We provided pictures and a General Disclosure Statement (GDS) on 10/20/2015, I followed up on 10/26/2015 and was assured we would be contacted; followed-up again on 11/3/2015 with the same assurance. The GDS statement states a 24-hour response could be anticipated...at the 456 hour point, I contacted the Better Business Bureau. Finally, after the BBB got involved, I received a response.

LL asked if we had any of the product available for analysis. We took 4 panels to the local Brewer outlet and they sent them back to the home office. After about 3 weeks, we got a phone call from an individual who was following up on the analysis. That was a very disturbing conversation. First, the individual's entire agenda was to get us to accept their findings. He talked about finishing repairs we could try, indicated our installer was not qualified, tried to imply we lived too close to a lake, suggested we had not followed the installation instructions, noted the flooring should not be placed under our appliances and final tried to infer our kitchen faced the wrong direction. When he started talking about water content in the soil around the house and whether or not we had a crawl space I was pretty sure we were not going to get any satisfaction.

We were challenged on the installation process and it was noted we had glued down the product. We had not glued down the product but had in fact followed the instruction of our local LL store. That was right up front in our initial GDS complaint. We were challenged on not following the installation instructions. None were given. Our builder has built more than 60 homes and the quality of his work is beyond reproach. He's a perfectionist who has never used the term "good enough for government work".

LL had 4 pieces to analyze, representing less than 1% of our total flooring. I hardly think that can be considered definitive. When I continued to stress that point, their representative noted they would, against company practice, hire a company to come in and do an independent evaluation. However, there was a catch. I had to accept those results as final. Sounded "fishy" to me so I balked and when the rep questioned my rationale I said "OK, I'll pay for the inspection." He stated he would send me a listing of companies that could perform an inspection and true to his word I had a listing (1 company) within 20 minutes. Interestingly enough, my email to that company, the company LL was going to pay to do my inspection, couldn't do it on my nickel due to a conflict of interest. Wonder what that conflict of interest might be?

This entire run-around just doesn't smell right. You would think LL would be more than willing to stand behind their product but if you look at the internet, fixing my problems might just open the floodgates because a lot of people have had issues with this flooring. The sad thing about this is my wife has a brand new kitchen with a floor that looks 20 years old. And it keeps getting worse. I won't argue those 4 panels may have tested within specs but come get a sample of those which the finish is wearing off. I'll bet those don't meet spec. I have never in my life experienced such a run-around and am not about to let this lie.

LL contacted my builder and he stopped by to discuss the telcon. He was amazed at the resistance to honor the guarantee and could not get through to LL that this was a finish quality issue not an installation issue. Our concern is simply this, the internet is rife with comments concerning LL's lack of responsiveness and quality issues with this product. They have no intention to honor this guarantee. I recently forwarded this issue to the Maine Attorney General's office and am in the process of contacting the two major homebuilder associations in Maine to register this complaint. Note, if I could select anything less than 1 star I would. Related info: Lumber Liquidators Complaint response for order # ** / Complaint # ** refers. BBB Complaint Case # ** (Ref # **). Product - Morning Star Bamboo. The label from one of the boxes reflects MS Forbidden City Bam 7/16 x 3-3/4.

I just had a run-in with LL. We bought some expensive engineered hardwood from LL. We used their installers to install a floating floor on top of a concrete floor. We brought the flooring home and opened all the boxes for 10 days before it was installed. Right after it was installed (in 2 rooms) the floor squeaks and pops every time you step on it. We called LL and they said that was not normal. Wait 30 days and see if it gets better. It did not and we called back several times and each time we were told this is not normal.

To make a long story a bit shorter, we had two separate inspectors come (both were arranged by LL). They finally sent out the installers to remove a part of the floor for the second inspector. We got a letter of explanation about 30 days later saying that they do not warrant squeaks and their product is not defective. I have never heard of this type of floor making the noises it makes. This was verified by some builder-types that have seen lots of flooring. Do not use Lumber Liquidators - you will regret it like I have.

Bought Morning Star Strand bamboo flooring (900 square feet) because they advertise that they are 2 times stronger than hardwoods. Decided to only install in one room and a hallway first to see how we liked them. In less than a week after being installed my daughters plastic laundry basket had left white scratches on the floor. I returned the remaining flooring and showed them photos of the scratches and expressed my concern over the lack of durability. The return was done in less than 30 days of purchase date and I was still charged $400.00 to return the flooring. On the back of the receipt it states returns are accepted only with approval.

I was offered a store credit but I'm not interested when the floor that was sold to me is obviously not worth the price if a plastic laundry basket can scratch it that easily. Plus having to match up the rest of the flooring to that hallway bedroom is impossible. Now to match up I will have to rip out what was installed. Installers did a great job but flooring isn't durable.

The second week they forgot to put it on the truck. I got it the 3rd week. 3 weeks to get 60 sq.ft. of flooring that was in stock and in the warehouse is ridiculous. I ordered what they had in the warehouse so I could have it quick. I called Customer Care and was told I could pay for a truck to pick it up if I wanted it sooner.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM LUMBER LIQUIDATORS!!! If we could give a negative review, we would give a negative 100!!! We purchased flooring from the Roseville Store in California. We purchased in February of 2015, installed in April 2015. By May 2015, we were filing a claim on the flooring. The store itself would not help us in any shape or form. The claims department took our statement in depth, accepted our pictures. Unfortunately the refusal to replace our flooring for the boards splitting, separating, was not acceptable to us. The claims department listed reasons of why our flooring was failing and it was our fault. The reasoning they give were NOT what was happening.

They referred us to a 3 party inspector service. We called them knowing this would be more funds out of our pocket. They informed us it was a 3 month waiting list. We contacted another laminate inspector who then would not return our calls. Our 3 attempt of an inspector at least they would talk to us. He told us to file a class action suit!

Lumber Liquidators is the WORST!!!! We are hoping we can get 2 years from our flooring, although we throw rugs over all the areas that are splitting and failing! We are completely in disbelief that a company would not stand behind their product. Sad, sad, sad day that customer service has come to this!!!! NEVER AGAIN will we patron LUMBER LIQUIDATORS.

I IMPLORE you NOT to do business with Lumber Liquidators! The purchase of our laminate flooring made in China literally made me suffer from abdominal cramping and numerous trips to the bathroom whenever I was in the home where the floor was installed. I immediately called LL and we did the air test and supposedly it came back 1/100th lower than what they will take responsibility for. I have read NUMEROUS cases of consumers testing the flooring elsewhere and the results greatly higher. We KNOW without a doubt that floor made my throat and nose uncomfortable and made me sick to my stomach. The store and the home office/customer care team REFUSED to help. Our atty contacted them and they refused to comply.

They are HORRIBLE people. Should be ashamed of themselves for robbing hardworking people of their money for a product not suitable for a landfill. I INVITE them to come stick their nose in the tarp-wrapped flooring that resembles a casket and tell us that formaldehyde level is safe. So much so, they can install it in their children's bedroom and sleep comfortably without any thought of wrongdoing. SHAME on them. I pray the class action lawsuit puts them out of business. Flooring manufacturers should be ashamed to have any business dealings with these people whom have cost 100K + families their health and their money.

Let me get it out of the way and say you get what you pay for. I'm a Connecticut Resident and have experience in wood finishing. The Bell Hickory Hardwood boards were installed earlier this year. About 2 months ago, the hardwood floors, which are prefinished Bellawood Handscraped Hickory, started to crack in multiple areas. Before I purchased from LL (Lumber Liquidators), the company assured me the "chemical finish process" these solid wood boards go through make the wood much more durable than that which is not prefinished. Needless to say, I filed a complaint with LL about 7 weeks back and asked them to fix the cracking boards.

As I have experience working with wood finishes, I understand the physics of polyurethane, moisture content, and the effects of relative humidity on woods of varying species. After 7 weeks and 2 inspectors sent from LL, an email came through stating they find my use of water and soap to clean the floors is against policy. If LL actually cared about their product and the consumer, they would know polyurethane does not allow water to penetrate into the substrate, in this case, wood. Water VAPOR does. The 1st inspector they sent out, yeah, he said it's definitely a manufacturer defect. So LL called a 2nd company to send another inspector who said, "Oh, you use water to clean?" What do they want you to clean anything other than sand off with?!?!

They sent me an email today telling me they cannot cover their own defective product and wanted me to sign a contract within 5 days of receiving it which will give me $500 store credit. In exchange, I cannot say anything to anyone about this and the matter would have to be confidential so that the company saves face. $500? Really? I'll never buy anything from them ever again. What a waste of $20k!

In February of 2014 I completed the installation of LVT Underlay and vinyl planks. In June of 2015 I removed a few and found mold growing on the underlay in 5 months. The underlay is warranted to be mold resistant. It was installed throughout my home and the area I removed was in the middle of front room with no exposure to moisture.

I have made several attempts to remedy this at the corporate and local retail store. After submitting a four-page claim with pictures and many calls I was denied because they said I removed the material. I only removed a small portion of the material which was communicated and pictured to their representatives. After several more phone calls I spoke to a manager who said I was denied since they couldn't verify the moisture level in my home. No one ever came to the house or returned calls.

I have not had time to remove and reinstall the vinyl planks and underlay. I need to purchase more planks because some will be damaged and I'm not sure what to do because according to reviews they will not accept boxes if opened and ALL of the previous boxes fell open from just transporting them. I need to sell my house for financial and health reasons and now with a moldy floor I am going to lose more than if I didn't have any floor.

Updated on 11/16/2015: You can see from the response on September 23, 2015 that they denied my claim for damages and faulty warranty of their underlay. Their first reason is that the floor exhibited moisture from the pictures I sent. I have attached these pictures that do not even show the floor. The second reason they indicate is based on a warranty for Vinyl Planks (not the moisture resistant underlay) installation page 7 & 12, which does not apply to underlay. I have attached a copy of the only paper I received with the roll of underlay with no warranty. If I had known this requirement I would not have purchased the underlay or vinyl planks due to the humidity in Florida homes. I'm hoping to sell to recoup a small portion of the planks so I can purchase and have tile installed.

They refer to the requirement to have your floor tested for moisture to validate the product. I chose this floor because of the waterproof and mold resistant properties of the floor. If I had known of this requirement I would have chosen another flooring option as I live in Florida. Lumber Liquidators offered $100 to drop my case and hold them harmless. This doesn't even cover the cost of the underlay purchased, the labor involved in removing and reinstalling and the fact that I do not wish to install this product as I don't trust this.

This is only a weekend house with limited exposure to traffic. Less than a year in, we are seeing excessive marking, splintering and cracking in many areas. After submitting a claim, Lumber Liquidators set an "independent consultant" for review. The review found that it was an install issue, blaming everything from humidity to inconsistent installation.

We are extremely upset and frustrated with a complete lack of customer service and standing by their product. A complete joke in my opinion... I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. We are now stuck or must replace with a reputable company. I must also say that our installer gets great reviews and has completed the renovation to satisfaction. Having installed over 100 floors in his day, I refuse to believe this is an installer issue as LL says. They simply took the easy way out.

We installed the flooring correctly and cleaned it with BonaX which is the product that is required to clean the floors. When we made a claim to Lumber Liquidators, we were told it was not a manufacturing problem since we didn't notice the problem before we installed it. Of course, we wouldn't have installed defective flooring. That is ridiculous statement. However, the prefinish is a manufacturing issue and since that isn't holding up, we feel that LL should stand behind its claim of a 50 year finish. LL said they were un-returnable because they were an advertised price, even though these are clearly defective and unlike the sample the salesman showed me (in the amount of glue). Ripping out the floor and starting again with another product will be a nightmare because of the amount of stickiness, so I will try to make due with the floor for now. Two days after installing an engineered hardwood from from LL, we saw the 60 Minutes story of the formaldehyde problem with flooring from China. We immediately checked the leftover box and saw that it was, indeed, made in China. We immediately called the store at 9 AM the next morning to be told that our floor was "no problem" as it is only the laminated floors that there was an issue. We were delighted and gave no further thought to the floor. About that time, I was getting runny eyes, nose, sinus trouble and thought I was getting a cold. When it did not go away and started getting pressure in my chest and neck, I thought maybe I was developing allergies although had never before had any.

When one night the pressure was so severe, I ended up in the ER. After ruling out heart attack, etc., the doctor asked if there was anything new in our home. Therefore, I had a certified air pollution company come and determine that we had a high elevation of formaldehyde in the house. However, when I called LL they told me that they would not be considering any claims that were not laminated floor. However, if you go online it is very clear that engineered hardwood also can contain formaldehyde if made in China! I have sent all documentation to LL, including certified levels of formaldehyde and hospital records. However, to date I have not gotten a reply. I would never, never recommend a company that gets people sick just to save a couple of dollars.

I am a homemaker and always at home, and I was having terrible breathing problems to the point of having to undergo very uncomfortable asthma testing (negative results), along with throat problems and constant stuffy sinuses.

We contacted the attorneys in California who suggested we do an independent testing with a more advanced testing with an air pump instead of the passive dosimeter badge that LL offers. Our test results were 110 ppb whereas the NIOSH has set an exposure limit at 16 ppb, so, as you can see our indoor formaldehyde reading was off the charts! We have removed the flooring and we feel better each day! They sell their products as "no returns special pricing" for a reason! Consumers have no recourse other than the current class action suits being assembled. Sadly, there are none in our state of MN. So we might as well have threw out $2700.00 with the garbage because that is what their flooring is. You get what you pay for and then some. If it's too good to be true there is a reason. (This was my 2nd purchase of flooring and my 1st DIY install went off without a hitch and I loved the results and floor). I called the store in Middletown NY to get another box and was told it was on hold due to formaldehyde testing and they could not sell me any or exchange any St James African Mahogany flooring and to call back in a few weeks.

I was told to wait to receive a call to discuss options to exchange flooring. I waited 2-3 weeks and called at least once a week for a status and was told that they were swamped and things were crazy in their office.

What does that have to do with me? I'm a paying customer who wanted to get a resolution in a timely manner. Needless to say that didn't happen, and it took over 2 months to get my flooring. I went back and forth with phone calls to try and get a different option which I was told in May but customer service said they would give me 2 boxes for free and the testing was complete and the flooring was safe. I didn't want to use the flooring, but my time was limited and I needed to complete my nursery.

When I finally picked up the boxes, no apologies, no sympathy and I questioned getting a pull bar for my inconvenience and the manager in the Middletown office said it was nothing that he could do for me. Horrible customer service there as well. In closing, I must say the turnaround time and lack of follow up and unprofessionalism from the customer service team as well as managers was horrible. I told him my dog had been ill since I had it installed. He suggested that I go online, & order an air quality test kit. I called my vet & told him about my dog's behavior. He told me to bring him in immediately. He said "this is not the Bentley I know." After weighing him the vet said he had lost 20% of his weight, & he was very weak. He said he needed to give him fluids not because he was dehydrated but to make him feel better.

I told him about the laminate being in question & they had reports of excessive levels of formaldehyde. The vet said that Bentley is not allowed back in to the condo, until I have the air quality test results back. I sent 2 kits to the lab, after letting them air in my condo for 23 hrs. (It said 24 hrs, on the instructions, but I called the lab & the boss ** said "23 hrs were fine") & I would have the results back in 5-7 days. I mailed them, the last week of March.

After numerous calls to LL in St Pete, their corporate in Va., the air quality lab in Clearwater, Fl. & still no results.... & they're so rude to boot! I told them I can't move into my new condo because my vet said Bentley is not allowed back in there until the test results are back. LL in St Pete, & LL corporate offered to write a letter to give to my vet, stating the air quality is fine. I told them how can they offer such a letter, not knowing my test results? I informed them that **, the manager had told me, he had never seen such a well behaved dog as my Bentley.

He went on to tell me he had 2 dogs, but one had died & had no idea why. They rushed him to the hospital was treated, seemed ok, took him home & the same thing happened. Unfortunately his dog died. I asked why he didn't get an autopsy? He said spent too much money treating him. ** never returned my calls, but I told the store & corporate, "I'm not a gambler, but I would bet his dog died from formaldehyde in his flooring..."

I have given up calling because they're so rude... its constant excuses... "they're backlogged". On May 2nd, I received an email saying that had to send my test kit to another lab, & that I should have results in 2-3 weeks. 2 weeks ago, I got another email, they're backlogged again, & I should have my results in another 2 weeks... It's 3+ months, I still don't have my results! & I still can't move in to my condo... I begged them for a credit for my floor & they said they are not making any exceptions! They've been so rude, condescending, & not at all customer oriented. My life has been put on hold for months. They've caused so much stress, aggravation, & loss of income. I was supposed to rent the place I'm in. I told them I was supposed to move out months ago, & I'm waiting & waiting on tests results that never come! They don't care!!! LL deserves to go under! Their behavior is Despicable!

I bought several hundred feet of the premium Birch floor and had it installed by a professional. The flooring was accumulated to the room for 2 week. In a few weeks it started to buckle at the end and warp, only at a few spots. I contacted customer support and they got back to me in a MONTH. After I did hear from them they wanted a sample sent to them. After several months I heard back from them. They said it was not a manufacture defect. They said that I must of had water setting on the floor. This is total BS. I have other hardwood flooring in the house for over 15 years. I never had this happen. But they say it was due to moisture. I just wash the floors with a damp cloth and towel dry, yes towel dry. So their tongue and grove is so bad that water seeps down. They offered me $100 dollars store credit and sign a paper not to post any negative review. What do you think I took!!!

We purchased flooring for the Austin Lumber Liquidators store. The flooring was marketed as being very durable, long lasting, and resistant to scratches since it was stranded bamboo wood flooring. We had the Austin Lumber Liquidator team perform the installation of the flooring. During the warranty period, some of the sections of the flooring buckled slightly, and would sink slightly when walked on. The Austin LL rep stated that this was normal "flex" in the flooring when he examined the installation.

Later, when the flooring buckled more, we contacted the Corporate LL office, and filed a written complaint on the flooring and installation using the required LL complaint form, and further asked that an Austin LL rep examine the flooring and installation. The LL response was that the claim was denied. We then tried to talk with the Austin LL Manager at the Austin, TX office, and he did not even show the courtesy of discussing the flooring with us, but rather had the floor sales rep state that they would not examine the flooring. The customer service was extremely bad, and we would never recommend that any one use the LL products or installation services.

Purchased vinyl planking flooring to redo floors. Lumber Liquidators personnel also said that padding was required under laminate flooring. Flooring was stored according to directions and was installed by a certified installer according to LL directions. Installers were reluctant to us padding as they said flooring would separate. But did so as per LL directions so as not to void warranty. Floor started separating within months. Filed claim in 12/14 with LL. Had one contact with rep. Have since been unable to contact despite phone calls, emails and certified mail. Filed a civil claim with the magistrate and have a court date with LL this week. Hope for a favorable outcome. We purchased America's Mission Olive 12mm laminate flooring from Lumber Liquidators in December of 2014 and had it installed throughout our home (except bathrooms) in our new remodel. We chose this floor after speaking with their sales people who convinced us that this is a very durable floor, which would hold up great to pets and kids. We had the floors installed by a professional and were very happy with the results for about a month. That was when we started noticing the chips all over the floor and the bubbling along the edges of the planks. If a drop of liquid came into contact with these floors, even if wiped up immediately, the surface of the product would start to peel away from the backing. And anytime anything was dropped on the floor they would chip.

We were extremely disappointed because these floors had been sold to us as being extremely durable and multiple employees at the Albuquerque store told us that they would be great for a family with pets and kids. We contacted their customer care line, sure that they would make this right since this was obviously a misrepresentation of the product they were selling. We figured that a company this large would have some pride in their products and stand behind what they sold. Unfortunately this has not been the case at all.

After jumping through hoops we were told to send them a box of our unopened flooring. We did this and a few days later we contacted with an "it's not our fault" letter. They said that they had done internal testing and that based off of the pictures we had sent them and their "internal testing" it was moisture damage. The funny thing is that we didn't even send pictures of the bubbling from moisture, we had just send pictures of the chipping. This showed us that they hadn't even bothered to review our claims before writing us off!!

After this, we requested to see the report on our floors from their "internal tests" and were told "there is no report, just a notation made on the file that the issues of concern are not manufacturing related. I don’t know what the inspection process is except for what I have already shared with you as this is done by a separate entity." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? What reputable, ethical company runs "internal testing" and doesn't document it? At this point we were very frustrated with the company because it is obvious that they have been giving us the runaround. So after many more emails and calls (most of which were never even acknowledged) we were told they would send out a "third party inspector". The inspector finally came and took some pictures and moisture readings and left without giving us any information.

We were contact by Lumber Liquidators a few days later with another not saying it is all moisture related and not their fault. However, their own warranty states that "Your Ispiri floor is warranted against finish wear from normal household conditions resulting in exposure of the paper layer". This is exactly what is happening in our home! We have since asked multiple times to see a copy of the report be the "third party inspector" and have been ignored. We have also requested multiple times to speak with a supervisor, only to be ignored each time.

I would never recommend Lumber Liquidators to anyone. In fact, I will be doing just the opposite. For the amount of money we spent it would be nice if they would stand behind their product and make sure their customers were satisfied and that they were selling good quality product, but unfortunately this is not the case at all.

In one of their letters (oddly, with no one's name who I could contact), they FABRICATED that our refrigerator caused moisture damage, however there wasn't even any moisture damaged in the kitchen. I imagine this must be one of their canned responses. They sent me a piece of paper with a warranty that must have been made up, because I never received this one. The warranty we received was for 25 years. Even their customer service rep told us the only option we have now is to file a lawsuit against them to recover our losses.

He sold me the flooring and underlayment and said everything else would be included in the install price. After scheduling the appointment for the installer to come out, the first appt was rescheduled, then the appoint for the second was made and the installer showed up 2 hour late. Was only there a total of maybe 10 minutes, and told me I'd have the estimate by that evening. Two days went by... Nothing, so I called and after more excuses was told I'd have it within the hour. 2 hours lasted, I received it and within 10 minutes received a call wanting to know what we wanted to do. We accepted the estimate and was emailed all contracts and told all we had to do was call the phone number with a 50% down payment and we were set to go.

I faxed the documents and then called in the payment. THEN!!! I receive a call from the store, wanted payment for another $620.00. I explained to them I had already made the payment and was told, "NO that's just for installation and this was for additional materials, shoe molding, 3 threshold plates nails and glue." NONE of this extra cost was mentioned by anyone. The salesman who said I had all I needed nor the installer who priced the estimate.

After contacting the store back the additional 620.00 was to have shoe molding the same color as the flooring but I could get natural and stain it myself (this is what I had to do.) Glue was not needed as the HARDWOOD FLOOR has to be nailed, so this reduced the cost to 188.00. REALLY 500.00 to match color!!! I will NEVER use these people again and would never recommend them to anyone. I am still not sure about the quality of the flooring nor the installation but they made sure they had me over a barrel by selling me discounted flooring which does not allow returns also. Purchased St. James/Bamboo laminate flooring from Lumber Liquidators on March of 2014. Would see how the complaint was escalating, seeing it on every channel, then the lawsuit, CEO resigned. Stay and pay! You are responsible for all the expenses and also pain and suffering!!! When looking in to it, it cannot be denied; we've been sick for months with all the symptoms. Severe sore throat to the point that one of my children could not swallow (this when I did not know about the Formaldehyde). The doctor said it was tonsillitis. Not sure, but sent medication... ok, then severe headaches, dry mouth and throat.

All escalated back in December. Probably because of the extended amount of time that we spend indoors. Closed windows or ... Child number two, congestion, loss of hearing, smell and severe headaches. To include two more members of the household that started with the same symptoms. Then myself, with sinusitis (FIRST ONE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE)!! This after 2 months of sinus pain, headaches, throat so dry at night that I would wake up choking because of the air!!! Frightened to think I would never smell, taste, or hear well again. It had been too long! None of this a coincidence, right?

NO! I don't believe in coincidences. Now to the dirty work. LL has been contacted and on their website. They have you enter the type of flooring you purchased in order to mail out a test-kit. Well, it has been two weeks. There is no way I am going to wait for their "test-Kit" and risk our lives!!! FLOOR WAS PULLED!! Walls are a disaster. Down to bare cement floors. Of course, NO TEST KIT YET!!! Same as others.... "KIT IN THE MAIL". I will not wait. What next? What if this causes health issues for us in the future? Are other products sold the same? Other floor store has about 60% of their laminate flooring from China. Per conversation with sales guy: "It is Formaldehyde compliant". Who is to say? How do we protect ourselves? What procedures are in place when buying these products. Are they tested? Probably not!

They did a horrible job, causing a lot of damage to my walls, ceilings, and light fixtures throughout the installation. They did a bad job of cutting the wood to fit in corners and around edges, and they got glue everywhere. There are actual glue stains in the middle of the floors. They even DID NOT FINISH the job! I was not happy with them so I decided to not have them come back to fix their mistake (bad planning on their part by the entryway door left a strip of exposed wood). But why have them come back just to make more of a mess?

When I contacted Lumber Liquidators about the situation they did not care whatsoever and didn't offer to help in any way. They had my money for the flooring so they didn't need to help anymore. Hello. My wife and I went to Lumber Liquidators in Norwalk CT to buy Bamboo flooring for a Salon. The salesman, who was a very nice man, told us we didn't want Bamboo, we would be much better off with vinyl for what we were using it for, we still wanted Bamboo. My wife went back again a couple of weeks later to order, another salesman, pushing the vinyl also. They decided to give my wife the number for a installer so he could come out and look. Again, another really nice man. He tells my wife, she doesn't want Bamboo, I quote, "I've done many Salons, you definitely want vinyl." She finally agrees to take their advice. They show up just like they agreed. The guys were great and the job was complete in a day.

Here comes the trouble. Right away the floor starts getting scratched, within a week it's not good at all. We call the installer who does come out to look, he tells her he's never seen anything like that and the material must be defective, he says to put in a claim with LL. Well, they send someone out to look. A couple of weeks or so she gets an email more or less saying that it's not their fault, that people shouldn't be wearing certain shoes on the floor. Also they shouldn't be using carts either. The carts have hardly any weight them at all.

In other words, they don't want to know anything!! And this flooring was totally what they told her she needed for a salon. I feel really bad for her, she finally saved up enough money to get new floors and now this. Now, maybe two months later they look terrible for new flooring. Oh, and one of the planks are lifting already. We put cheap flooring down in the break room and dressing room from Home D. It's been down for over a year or two. Not a scratch!!! Thumbs down to Lumber Liquidators!! Now she's going to have to pay an attorney to get somewhere with them. We should have gone to a local reputable company that would have taken care of the problem. You think you're saving money but that's not always the case!! Thank you so much for listening everyone!!! We have pictures if anyone would like to see.

I feel that you should not technically be able to sell any floor that would scratch by simply sliding the chair from under a table. I bought laminate flooring for several hundred square feet for an eat in kitchen, laundry room and pantry. Although the floors looked nice they are not durable at all in my opinion. When I selected my flooring there was no real sales presence to ask what I was looking for and pick a floor that would suit my needs. If this flooring would not have been durable for a kitchen I expect an honest sales person to say, "This won't do for the area you are looking to use it". I did call to report the scratches and the ease of buckling from a small area of standing water.

It is a kitchen, water and spills happen. The flooring should not buckle under a small spill of standing water. Lumber Liquidators did send out a an installer but they said it was installed properly and told me "Don't use water on the floor to clean it and scratches can happen". I just feel like this was a poor product. I can't easily replace an area. I have to do the entire floor because it is not sold anymore. I am disappointed with the quality. My toddler son likes to play with his toy cars. I am afraid to let him play with them in the kitchen for fear of him irreparably damaging/scratching the floor. It is so annoying.

The solid birch floor has been down, applied with 4 part moisture barrier adhesive and we are having to replace 20 square feet in one room and 15 in another because the floor is failing. LL call center made it clear that nobody ever "wins" as I was told so we have no true warranty on the floor. There are much more reliable, customer oriented and honest suppliers. Run... don't walk from LL.

Other than a letter after I got my high 0.067ppm test results from the lab THEY hired that states: "Your results show that formaldehyde levels in your home fall within or below the range of normal indoor air (0.020 to 0.100 parts per million), according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's recent study of formaldehyde. Your low level of formaldehyde is similar to the amounts measured in typical U.S. homes." They are lying about safe levels and trying to lull customers into a false sense of security.

If I could give zero stars on this review I would. I purchased my laminate floor on March 10th but they did not have my selection in stock so ** told me she would call me in 2 weeks when it arrived. I never received a call from the store so I decided to call them. I called the store two weeks later to get a status on my order and spoke with **. ** asked me for my phone# and told me he would call me back in 5 minutes. He did not call me back so I called the store back 15 minutes later and ** answered the phone again. I asked him again for the status of my order and he told me again that he would call me back. I told him I was willing to hold while he checked on the status of my order but he refused to put me on hold because he had a customer on the other line that he was helping. I'm a customer too!

Anyway, I got his name just to make sure he would call me back, and he finally did, only to tell me that my order was not in yet. That did not seem right to me, so I decided to pay them a visit. I returned to the store two and a half weeks after I bought my floors and spoke with ** to get a status on my order. ** looked in the computer and she had a puzzled look on her face (as if they had received my order but sold it to another customer). ** told me my order would be there next week. My order finally arrived at the store on ** 4th (three and a half weeks after I bought it). I was told ** was going to call me to set up a pick up time but he never did.

When I finally picked up my laminate floor, I waited patiently while ** helped a customer load the car. When it was my turn, ** did not lift a finger to help me. I took the boxes off the fork lift and placed them in my truck all by myself. As I was loading my truck ** peaks his head out of the warehouse and asked me "You good?" He had just finished loading a customer's cars but he did not help me one bit! The customer service in this store is terrible! Do yourself a favor and stay away from this store!

We purchased 2 vinyl plank floors. While we are happy with the flooring, the customer service left a little bit to be desired. Although the person was knowledgeable about the flooring and helped us make our decision, she made us feel like we were bothering her. Then when we were figuring out how many boxes we will need she warned us that we can't return opened boxes and there is a 20% restocking fee (kinda high). When we picked up the boxes most of them were already opened.

When we ordered the 2nd vinyl floor she told us they were out of stock. She looked up to see what store had them in stock and looked at me like she expected me to drive to this distant store. I said "can't you have them shipped here?" She told me I needed to tell her exactly how many boxes I would need. I asked why they would just send down a whole pallet to have it in stock in case other people ordered the same floor. She said no, they would only ship how many I want and I would be charged a restocking fee again if I asked for too many. I asked "What if i don't calculate enough? My installer has to leave the job unfinished for the 2-3 weeks you are telling me it takes to ship?" She said "yes." (I don't understand why a store that displays a type of floor and doesn't have it in stock, wouldn't take this moment to resupply that product in stock?)

I have had two experiences with Lumber Liquidators over the past year, once at the Ft Myers, FL store and recently at the Sarasota, FL store. I purchased glue together engineered flooring both times and the results were stunning. The flooring I purchased in Ft Myers was a discontinued product and I can understand why as there were plenty of chalk marks on the flooring which along with all of the voids in the product told me that it wasn't first quality material. On the plus side, I was given an incredibly good price on the product and even with probably 25% unusable product I still think I got a great deal though I was told by the salesperson that it was nonreturnable product, and I didn't have a problem with that though at the time I did not realize there would be so much waste. Great for my neighbor though as he used it for flooring in the loft of his barn/man cave.

The second experience in Sarasota seemed to go well though the store manager said some disculpatory disclaimer very fast that he would not repeat when I asked about returning any unused product which was a stock item. That raised a red flag and when I read all of the negative comments online, I was afraid they were going to stick me with the 4 boxes of overage I had bought. When I took the extra boxes back on my return trip to get my thresholds the salesperson was more than happy to take back the extra boxes which surprised me. I told him about all of the negative comments on the internet and about my concerns. While they could have charged me a 20% restock charge per contract, they didn't.

Maybe I just got the right sales associate as the one who sold me the product said he would only take back one box but I was happy with the service I got and I explained to the salesperson that if they did not work with people on the returns that I would be better off going to Lowe's and paying more for a returnable product. I have no problem with being a repeat future customer but it does help to get friendly with the sales people as they can give you information that you might not otherwise get.

My husband and I purchased $20K of bamboo flooring from Lumber Liquidators in Pelham, AL last September (2014). We had just purchased our dream house and were performing a series of major renovations. One of which was replacing the existing flooring and carpet with bamboo flooring. Lumber Liquidators HIGHLY recommended a company, Commercial Building Maintenance, to install the floors.

As soon as the floors were installed in October, we quickly covered them because we had more work being done in the house (painting, bathrooms being demo'd and renovated, kitchen gutted) and we didn't want the workmen tracking dirt, spackle, paint, and whatnot on the new floors. Three months later I uncover the floors and start cleaning. I discover that the bamboo quarter round has nails sticking out and splintered pieces all over the place. Some of the quarter round is coming out because it was never fixed in place correctly the first time. Bamboo boards are separating. There are sinking spots throughout the entire main floor. The bamboo was not properly cut around the fireplace. In short, a horrible job of shoddy workmanship.

I stop at Lumber Liquidators in early January, 2015 and show the pictures to the manager, **. The installation is under warranty and I want the issues resolved. I ask for someone else to address the problems. ** refuses to believe that ** did the crummy work because the man has an amazing reputation. He convinces me to contact ** because he will do the right thing and correct the problems.

I contacted the owner of Commercial Building Maintenance and after rounds of phone tag, he finally comes to the house in February. He lies to me and tells me that bamboo cannot be pre-drilled because it is too hard and the splintering is normal. I provide evidence from the manufacturer that the floor quarter rounds should have been predrilled. I show him the fireplace and the sinking areas. He reluctantly agrees to come back with his company and fix everything, to make good.

I don't hear from him for a month. I call him in March and he has died. No, I'm not making this up. His widow has dismantled the company. At this point, I contact HS and start dealing with **. After six weeks of emails, 2 different inspectors, and multiple phone calls, I discover that HS will pay another installer to address the issues but I have to pay $5300 for "items that weren't done by the first installer"--floor prep ($4800), cutting around the fireplace ($150) and moving furniture ($300).

I checked the warranty that is featured prominently on the Lumbar Liquidators website: HSS Protection Plan. The Home Service Store, Inc.'s (HSS) 1-Year Limited Installation Warranty. WHAT IS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. In addition to any warranty extended to the customer directly from the manufacturer of the product or materials used in the installation, the independent contractor will separately warrant that all of its work substantially conforms to the manufacturer's recommendations and follows industry standards and quality guidelines and that, upon notice from customer, it will correct any faults related to defective workmanship or mis-application of the product at no additional cost to the customer.

Should the independent contractor fail to honor its warranty, for a period of one (1) year from the date of substantial completion of the work, upon notice to HSS and only if the work is determined to have been performed in a manner inconsistent with industry standards, HSS will assist in the resolution of such defective work. If the warranty work requires the replacement of a product that is no longer available, the customer agrees to accept a reasonable product match. Funny that I am being charged additional costs in an obvious violation of the guarantee. I completely understand that this is a weird situation. But protection plans exist for a reason, and the reason is to engender consumer trust.

I am a licensed contractor out here in Arizona. I had a project for a client, which included laminating the stairs with matching engineered wood flooring. The material of choice was Remington oak (became unavailable shortly after installation). On stairs a "stair nosings" is installed on leading edge of the stair tread. A total of 9 have cracks parallel to the grain, all in the same locations. There are no fasteners near the damage, as they are glued down with polyurethane construction adhesive (liberally), these all surfaced after one year. Chalk up the defects as milling/manufacturing defects, or poor material selection.

We also installed this floor downstairs (except kitchen and bath) and upstairs. I called customer service, was instructed to file claim form. Did that then, received settlement agreement letter to sign (took a lot of action plus getting Better business bureau involved). I did nothing wrong and they won't stand behind product. I was promised compensation (directly to my clients), signed agreement, and still like many others lied to, and avoided.

I regret ever considering Lumber liquidators. Their "customer care reps" and "claims case managers" are a hoax, and a joke! My husband and I purchased "click and lock" Morningstar bamboo flooring from Lumber Liquidators in Woodbury NJ back in the early summer of 2014. We installed the floor (he did one level of our house with his father who is a civil engineer and we paid a contractor who did it as a side job to do the other level). Our floor now has large gaps in between the panels on both levels of our home.

I contacted Lumber Liquidators on March 6th and spoke to a customer service rep who sent me a form to fill out and to send in pictures. I did this that same day and was told I would be contacted personally by him within 48 hours, but potentially a couple of extra days because they have a high volume due to a class action lawsuit (which I saw on the news) regarding chemicals in their laminate flooring. I contacted them numerous times via phone and email since then to no avail. I contacted a lawyer, who sent a letter to the location where we purchased the floor. No response after a couple weeks. I then had the lawyer send a letter to customer service before going forward and filing a lawsuit.

In the meantime, I received a standard letter dated last year by mistake discussing gapping issues and stating that it was not a manufacturer issue but an installation issue. It outlined several common installation issues, including not putting dividers between rooms and also humidity issues. We were not told of any of these potential issues, nor the potential of gapping when we purchased the floor. Both my engineer father-in-law and the contractor are confident that the floors were installed correctly, with proper spacing at the edges, etc. The floors acclimated in my home for over a month before installation. I should also note that I have a small town home, that is not near any bodies of water and I always keep the temperature between 67 and 73 degrees. My house is not humid. The letter also said we could have an inspector come look at it, but implied it would be at our expense.

Today (April 22nd), I received a call from the original rep. He said he was told to call me to discuss my issue. Obviously they got the letter from the lawyer but he did not mention it and neither did I. He went on to talk about humidity in the house and since we did not have a humidity test done before installing that they cannot be sure what is causing the issue but it is not a manufacturer issue. He also assured me that with that said, it is a moisture issue and that we need to purchase humidifiers to get the humidity levels correct in the house and the floors will go back together.

I said that I did not believe that was going to fix the large gaps in the floor, as they were "locked together" when installed. How would they lock back, exactly? I also asked if this actually did fix the issue, whether I would have to keep running a humidifier. He said not consistently, but definitely when seasons change and throughout the whole winter. I stated that I would never have purchased floors knowing that I would have to monitor humidity on 2 levels of my home with 2 humidifiers for months on end in my home so that the floors stay together.

Needless to say, the phone call went nowhere. There was no apology for not contacting me for over a month and a half, and no resolution other than for me to go buy 2 humidifiers. I seriously do not want to have to put money into filing a lawsuit against this company for not representing their products correctly or for not informing their consumers about what to expect when installing their products. I have contacted 2 local news teams. Still waiting to hear if they want to cover this story. I saw a story on the class action lawsuit a few months ago, so I figured I would try. I want the floor removed and replaced and I want to be treated with the respect of a paying customer with prompt attention to my issues.

I feel as though we have no choice but to either deal with flooring that is gapping, either by dealing with it as is or by wasting my money and time by buying humidifiers to humor their notion that the floor will go back together if we do. Problem with that is, I would have to run them on 2 floors throughout months of the year and monitor the levels in my home regularly. This is a hassle that I did not anticipate, nor was I told about when I purchased and before I installed the flooring. Do not buy from this company. You will regret it.

Regardless, we are still living on these floors. Purchased and tested our air quality. Report came back 4/9/15, formaldehyde level: elevated, concentration: 82 ng/L (65 ppb). Very concerned about 6 years of exposure, at what I'm sure were much higher levels when first installed. We have had ongoing health issues, as well as our pets. What do we do about and or with these floors, while officials are deciding on possible recalls and or class actions? Most people, including myself, can't afford to remove and replace this stuff. Also not sure how to safely dispose of it. Kind of in limbo about what steps to take next.

The whole time I was in the store he would go to the back and come back out and make rude comments to my dad. He was VERY unprofessional. Now it has been 4 almost 5 weeks since I submitted my return I have called over and over to see if it’s been processed. I called them again today to be told “it’s still in processing”!! Not only did they do nothing to really help me know when I would receive a check but the 2 people I talked to were so rude..... I WILL NEVER WORK WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

Working in the service industry I will make sure I tell everyone about my experience and to spend the extra money and go to Lowe’s or home depot, anywhere else just don't use Lumber Liquidators. They don't care about the people that spend money with them as long as they get you to spend it. NO ONE took the time to talk to me to help me understand about my flooring and all the formaldehyde in it or to ease the situation knowing I was scared! Please make sure you do all the research on the flooring you buy if you decide to purchase flooring from them because most of all the flooring they have, unless it’s real wood, has high amounts of formaldehyde in it! I wish I would have before purchasing the flooring because it has been a huge headache to deal with these people!

I purchased Morningstar Forbidden City bamboo flooring for our home. I let the floor acclimate for 2 weeks in our home before installing the floor. A couple weeks after installation my son dropped a matchbox car from about 6 inches on the floor and chipped the floor. I thought it was a fluke, so I tried it in an area where we had a rug and it did the same thing. After a couple of weeks we had chips all over the room. I was going to contact the manufacturer and found that it took me right to Lumber Liquidators' website. That could only mean that it was manufactured by them. I contacted Lumber Liquidators and they said I should file a claim. I did that along with submitting pictures of the floor. This was all before the 60 minutes story on the company.

The person that took care of my claim came back and said that I installed the floor incorrectly and that is why I was having problems and they would not do anything about it. I used the glue that they recommended and the underlayment. I have installed many wood floors before so I knew what I was doing. When I was not satisfied with their conclusion I contacted the person that was handling my claim again. He said I could hire an independent inspector and if they found that I installed the floor correctly they would give me a refund. I contacted an inspector and he said that he was pretty sure that I installed the floor correctly. He said he had some experience with others that have had the same problem and no one got any resolution from Lumber Liquidators. He said, "They will fight it and claim that if your home is too dry then you need a humidifier, and if it is too wet then you need a dehumidifier."

I completed a product review on their website, but they will not publish it, which I think is wrong. They will not even respond to me at this point. I found this site and was surprised by the number of people that have the same problems with the company. About the 60 minutes story on the company. They said that the chemicals are trapped in the floor during manufacturing. However, boards are cut to size exposing the layers and releasing chemicals into the air.

All that keeps happening is "i will transfer or the the person is on another call". Last week I asked to talk to a supervisor, of course he was on another call. So I left a message, I have yet to hear back from him. So I now I have turned a complaint into the better business bureau, and tomorrow I'm sitting down with a lawyer to discuss my next steps. My floor which has a 30 year warranty is gaping more than 3 inches from my walls and edges, and is bucking up in the middle and separating altogether. I believe that something is wrong with the morning star bamboo I received, and I can't seem to get anyone's help.

We purchased about $3200 of Kensington Manor Golden Teak 12-mm Handscraped Laminate Flooring from Lumber Liquidators from Nov 2013 to Jan 2014. My husband cut and installed the flooring entirely himself over the course of several months. While installing we were disappointed that many pieces had damaged finishes and required trips back to store for replacement. Recently, after hearing about the 60 minutes report, we hired a professional certified air quality company (cost of $295) to come do an indoor air quality test in our home including a formaldehyde test. The results were alarming. The NIOSH recommended exposure limit is 20 ng/L or less (equivalent to 16 parts per billion). The formaldehyde level in our home was 110 ng/L (85 ppb).

When calling the store they tried to say it was other factors in our home, that it wasn't their flooring and referred me to corporate. Corporate is impossible to get through to and only says they will send us a test kit. I don't need a test kit. It is my opinion that your company, in thirst for money, has put people's safety over profits. I'm angry and disappointed that you won't admit your mistake and try to make it right by all the people you have sold cheap Chinese flooring to that is unhealthy and in many of the reviews, not living up to the quality standards you claim. I wished there was a negative rating available. Please folks, do not do business with Lumber Liquidators.

I purchased nearly $5,000 in hand scraped hardwood flooring for a new home in Colorado. Sales associate instructed us to allow at least 48 hours for flooring to acclimate; we waited 7 full days. I paid for the upgraded underlayment padding and installed exactly as instructed. I am a licensed professional engineer and was very careful about the installation.

In less than 1 year we have at least 6 locations in the flooring that have separated from each other. This particular model of floor uses no glue and no nails (floating). There is no easy way to repair the gapping without removing and replacing the entire floor. This would also require pulling all the shoe molding attached to the toe boards along the entire perimeter. It turns out that "Virginia Millworks Co." imports all their wood from China.

After filing the required 6 page disclosure with pictures of the damage, it has been two weeks and I've heard nothing from my assigned "case worker". Repeated calls to the Customer Service desk have gone unanswered. At this point, it would seem that the best case scenario may get me my purchase price back for the flooring which means I'm out two weeks of installation time, and hundreds of dollars in replacement trim, paint, moulding, etc. Very disappointed all the way around.

We purchased Morning Star solid bamboo flooring for our home. The look is beautiful but the clear coat finish is scratching terribly and leaving bright white permanent lines all over our house. Boards came out of the box defective in the finish. So much for highly durable! I contacted Customer Service immediately and filed my official paperwork with photos. They eventually wanted a box of our floor to test for manufacturer’s defects. We were told we would be reimbursed for the box via store credit. They highly insinuated that we were at fault, we did everything wrong and that even the glue we used (purchased at Lumber Liquidators) was suspect. They even criticized their own employees at our local store and said they did wrong by us.

After several weeks I contacted them again. They told me it was scheduled to be tested the next day and I would be contacted promptly. We have had no updates and cannot get through to anyone and also never received reimbursement for the box they sent for. They recommended having a certified hard wood inspector look at it with the possibility we would eat the expense. However when I contacted the National Wood Floors Association there is not an inspector in our state. What their professional did explain to me though certainly was not favorable of the product we purchased or Lumber Liquidators as a whole. We are so sad that our purchase to create value and enjoyment for our home backfired on us. What happened to being honorable and helping your customers? We are 2 months into the process and it's our word against theirs. How will we ever know the true findings of their "test"?

We purchased the Tranquility 5 mm Golden Teak Luxury Vinyl Planking from the Lumber Liquidators location in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The folks at the store highly recommended this product for our particular situation, a basement that occasionally flooded but had no ongoing moisture issues. The situation was explained in full to the employees and they said this product was perfect for what we needed and included a warranty for water issues (but again, not ongoing moisture). In the event of water in the basement, all we would need to do was pull up the flooring to dry out the underlayment and reinstall, no problems.

We purchased the flooring in two separate stages, as we finished the smaller room in the basement first, followed by the remainder of the space a few months later. The product installed easily and looked fantastic. All recommendations for acclimation were followed and the warranty was reviewed prior to installation. Flash forward several months to a minor basement flood. The flooring was carefully pulled up and placed aside out of the wet areas and the underlayment was allowed to dry. Two weeks later we attempted to reinstall the floor. As we did so, the tongues snapped off. We were unable to reinstall the flooring as it became clear that at best a third of the floor wasn't going to be usable and that potentially all of it was ruined. And so we started the process to put in a complaint and make a warranty claim.

The basement water issue was in late August. The complaint process was started in September. It is now nearly April and there is no resolution. Calls and emails have not been returned since January. Lumber Liquidators has left me with stacks and stacks of unusable flooring, a basement with nothing but underlayment down and thousands of wasted dollars. And they won't return a phone call. I actively warn people about the bad products and awful customer service to prevent them from making a similar mistake.

It is 4mm click/floating floor, no glue required. They are saying that it could possibly be humidity or something like that. We think it could be the fact that they nailed the shoe molding into the floors, hence being not able to float??? Flooring upstairs is not separating and we think that is because we removed the molding before install and did not have to use shoe molding because they were able to re-put on the existing molding. We then started suffering from joint pains. After five months my wife started getting regular nosebleeds that gushed like a faucet for an hour at a time, the ENT is asking what has changed in the household recently. Last month we saw the 60 minutes program about concerns of high levels of formaldehyde purchased from Lumber Liquidators and quickly ordered our own formaldehyde test kit from a reputable lab. We followed instructions and conducted our tests both upstairs and downstairs. The flooring was put in only downstairs (over 1400 sq ft) but the results are in - HIGH levels of formaldehyde BOTH up and downstairs.

We have made several calls to both the store that the product was purchased and to Lumber Liquidators representatives, there is clearly a lack of unwillingness to engage to resolve the safety concerns about their unsafe product towards me and my family. I am equally concerned about the safety to the public that has installed any of their products. In fact, Lumber Liquidators has not responded to my phone calls or email about placing my family lives in jeopardy due to the tested high levels of formaldehyde. People can listen to what they post and say about what Lumber Liquidators is reporting but you must get your own air quality test to prove if your house is safe or not. To: Tom Sullivan (Founder & Chairman) you seriously claim your products are 100% safe, our test results clearly contradict you. We are removing this floor as soon as possible and are very disappointed with your company its handling of people lives.

Two years ago we ordered Morning Star bamboo flooring for our home from Lumber Liquidators. After the fourth week of acclimation we began to install our flooring (in late June). In August we went on vacation to return two floors that had shrunk from the quarter round by about 1/2 of an inch. My husband and I discussed the issue and decided that we would add extra molding between the baseboard and the quarter round. This would add close to 3/4 of an inch for coverage. We thought surely there is no way the flooring would shrink beyond that point. We shopped for a solution finally we added a piece of chair rail (about 1/2 of an inch in thickness) against the baseboard then added the quarter round which cover any shrinkage. We also added extra pieces of the flooring under the door frames to cover the areas of shrinkage.

It has yet again shrunk so much so that now there about a 1/4 of an inch gap due to shrinkage from the edge of the flooring to the quarter round. We contacted our local Lumber Liquidators store to be directed to the warranty department. Photos were sent with a explanation of how we tried to repair/cover the shrinkage prior to submitting a complaint. We were told gaps are to be expected. Also they implied that our room size was too large not to have a t-molding piece in the middle. This problem is not an installation issue, it is 100% a product issue. This company was quick to sell their product by using the warranty, but don't you dare mention warranty when you are having a problem.

Of course your warranty doesn't cover that. With all that being said morning star bamboo floors are beautiful in looks but suck in quality. Lumber Liquidators doesn't stand behind their products. I would never recommend this company for the purchase of anything. Saving a few dollars up front will surely catch up with you in the end.

75% of installed product from Lumber Liquidators is Defective! July 29, 2014; we bought hardwood flooring from Lumber Liquidators in Mississauga (Ontario, Canada), the brand is (Golden Teak Acacia Hardwood Flooring 3/4') with 30-year warranty. We based our decision to purchase the hardwood on certain samples at retail store showroom, which we examined before committing ourselves to the purchase.

After acclimated the product at our house for more than 5 months and used a moisture barrier, which they are selling to keep our warranty valid. We also followed all manufacturer regulations and recommendations. Unfortunately, during installation and reached of 85% of the process, we noticed there were some defecates mostly at the ends of the boards, which is more than the expected 5% range that our invoice mentioned when we bought the flooring.

Jan 2015; We informed LL about the flooring issue and filled disclosure forms, the store manager came out to the site to view the floor and he requested to get everything on hold, acknowledged there was a defect (in this patch) of product, and the arrangements were made to ship samples and box of unopened material to the head office in Virginia, USA for inspection.

LLs acts of fraudulent concealment, using improper warranty tactics and commissioning sham inspection from INSPECT SOLUTIONS to our flooring in response to complaints in order to "mislead consumers into believing that the defect could be traced to shoddy installation," and to exonerate Lumber Liquidators from any responsibility.

LL markets and warrants that the Product is durable and further markets and warrants that the Product has a thirty (30) year warranty. LL provided a reasonable expectation to consumers and the industry that the Product would have a usable lifetime of at least thirty (30) years. The Products various modes of failure potentially cause damage to other building components and render the Product susceptible to premature failure.

LL did not honor its warranty and denial our claim. It's amazing to us that a company is so adamant about taking no responsibility for such a poor product (75% defect) which is marketed to be "durable" with 30 years warranty, but it seems there is no quality control had been done at all for this product before wrapping and delivery. We had to hire 3rd party independent inspector licensed by National Wood and Flooring Association (NWFA), he mentioned the mill actually attempted to fuse cracks with glue and then fill them with putty, the manufacturer did this intentionally. His conclusion is (Manufacturing Defects).

LL has been notified of its breach of written warranties and has failed to adequately cure those breaches. As a direct and proximate result of Defendants breaches of its Written warranties, engaged in unlawful business practices in that Defendant represented, through its advertising, warranties and other express representations that the Product had characteristics it did not actually have. We are requiring LL to compensation for financial losses associated with the purchase of the flooring. All instructions were followed to a "T" to include acclimating the floor for a week prior in the room it was to be installed in and hired a professional. We spent the time and money as this was to be the last flooring we wanted to install.

This was installed in May when radiant was not in use per instructions. We started noticing small almost like blisters in random areas of the floor and upon closer inspection many of these blisters were turning into hairline cracks. About 6 months after install, we starting experiencing board separation in our foyer and by the staircase to the second floor. We had to have the people from Lumber Liquidators come out and inspect. We were told that it was an "installation" issue. To resolve the problem, they had the installer, from All Wood Flooring (the original installers), come out and essentially re-install the floor back down in those two areas.

By the next winter, approximately 9 months after the "re-installation", we started experiencing additional separation issues between the boards now in the living room, at the juncture of the dining and living room, as well as by the door to the back deck. We re-contacted the people at Lumber Liquidators and the people at All Wood Flooring and were told that we now have to have a national flooring inspector come out to the house, of which there are 5 in the state of Maryland. If that person deemed it was an issue with installation, their cost, which is between $750.00 and $1500.00 to do the inspection, would be covered. If it was an issue with the product in the house, we would eat the cost of the inspection and be left without coverage.

We had a separate hardwood installer come out to the house last week and take a look at what was going on. Rather than an installation issue, he thought the problem was due to the boards shrinking in all 4 directions rather than just along the long axis. He also mentioned that the bamboo product of Morning Star is notorious for this issue. He essentially said that this product should not have been used in our house to begin with.

Sorry to hear you had trouble getting through. There were several publications about the Free Test Kit that led non-LL customers to request air quality test kits meant only for those laminate customers where recent media suggested they were potentially unsafe, a position we disagree with because the testing method used to make this allegation was questionable. The home test kits are being provided as a step for customers with our laminate floors to help reassure them that their floor as installed is safe, not open for the general public to receive free testing.

Lumber Liquidators implemented an online tool for screening test kits to expedite the testing process.

To reassure our customers, we are providing indoor air quality testing at no cost to qualifying customers as the fastest, most effective way to measure the total level of formaldehyde in the home. The testing is being administered and the results produced by an independent, accredited lab. The customer is in control of the process, with clear instructions on the test and its results. We will conduct an in-depth evaluation of air quality and potential formaldehyde sources for any customer whose results are inconclusive or above established thresholds. Our customer care team will work with our valued customers throughout the process.

Please fill out the form found at the link below to determine if your floor qualifies for the free test kit. If your floor does qualify, you will be walked through the process of ordering the test via an independent lab.

Never buy from Lumber Liquidators but if you do, please understand they stand behind their "Terms and Conditions" and NOT their product. If you have found this site before purchasing please consider yourself lucky - like "hitting the lottery for whatever you were about to pay for your floor" kind of lucky. Like many others we purchased a lot of Morning Star Hand Scraped Strand Anji Bamboo and had a professional installer put it in - well at least we had him start putting it in. We started noticing problems on day 3 of the installation. The floor that was squeaky and parts of it had separated from the 1st day's batch. On day 2 and 3 we had a big rain so the air was humid and we started investigating things. That's when we found out the horrible decision we had made. Complaint after complaint and then class action on our product. We even tried to return the portion of the floor still in the box. Once again LL stood behind their "policy" not their product.

The service at Lumber Liquidators was great. **, from the NY Westbury store, was patient, helpful and had good customer service. I only wish the product was as good as the service. I purchased over 3200 sq feet of Hardwood flooring, VMHS Old World Oak, it appeared beautiful in the store and in my Tutor home it would replace 100 year old wood flooring. I hire a professional wood installation company that has a excellent rate and came highly recommended.

Let the installation begin - the floors were properly acclimated, the wood was disturbed to the rooms it would be installed and was there longer than the required acclimation time due to scheduling and rain days. The installer explained the importance of not rushing to make sure the moisture and humidity was right for the floor. They installed plywood and leveled the slant in my floor to make sure all floors were level. The floor looked AWESOME!!!

About one month past the floors being installed, my son ran to me crying - he had a splinter in his foot. The wood floor had splintered off and became embedded in his foot. This was the first of many splinters. Then abnormal, very large gaps started to appear everywhere in the 1763.10 square feet we had already installed. Additionally the floor appeared to be cracking from the 'Shrinkage" and caused addition splintering of the top layer of the wood. Before anyone can say: "shrinkage is normal," I know I had wood floors and lived thru small cracks, I know about maintaining humidity, I have a built-in humidifier in my heating system (and yes it was working). The shrinkage was excessive, the splinters too many to count and damn they hurt!!! My poor golden doodle was bleeding all over the floor from one... And in other area stain appears to just crack off the floor, in non traffic areas.

The saying "Looks aren't everything" is so true. After visiting the Architectural design show in NY last year Lumber Liquidators' representative explained; "that the quality of their product has change for the better and that they guarantee it!!!" We will see. I have filed a grievance with the quality control department. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! The pink sticking notes are marking cracks and splinter in just one room!!!

We put this floor in our living room, dining room, hallway, and all bedrooms in 2012. The only nice thing I can say about it is that it is pretty, the parts that aren't damaged. This floor has absolutely zero tolerance to any moisture, i.e. if you come out of the bathroom and 1/2 tsp water drips onto one of the cracks and you don't get it wiped up, you will have a permanent bubble in your floor. If you drop something with any weight to it, you will have a chip out of your floor. They are impossible to keep clean. The moment a foot or paw touches your clean floor, you will be able to see it in the light.

I attributed this to our mistake of picking a dark floor with a shine to it, but I've read several online reviews where others believe there is a flaw in the finish. Finally I just discovered that this is one of the floors included in the formaldehyde controversy and worry about our health. Super disappointed. It took us years to save the money to put these floors in. I submitted this same review to the LL website and they did not post. If you read the fine print, when you submit a review, it says "your review MAY be shared on our website." Their overall review compared to this site and amazon.com differs greatly.

Purchased floors from Lumber Liquidators (wood), they lasted six weeks and they buckled and split. Spent 15k, used their contractor to install. Did every thing they said to and they keep blaming it on moisture issue, the installer used the wrong glue when installed and have the engineer report to prove it and the insurance company report. This issue has been going on since November 20th 2014, had floor installed September 28th 2014. This company is very hard to deal with. They have a warranty designed never to pay a claim.

Worst company I have ever had to work with. We now have to turn the case over to our attorney and go to court witch is going to cost me 5k but I will not let them get away with this!!! I should have read the reviews before I decide to use them!!! I will never make that mistake again. Whoever sees this, do not buy from Lumber Liquidators!!! Not a good company!!! Read reviews before choosing them and you will see what I mean.

We purchased and installed two rooms of the Morning Star Bamboo flooring this past fall. The sales agent stated it was touted as being the hardest flooring available and care free...Ours is cupping in one 9 row section in our living room and about half of the dining room floor. Scratches abound as well. LL refuses to come look and have only sent a letter stating we must have done something wrong or have a water leak in our foundation. They wouldn't answer if it could perhaps be that they received a BAD BATCH from China? LL does not stand behind their product. We don't have any water pipes in our foundation (mani-block system). We don't have humidity issues since we have a Lennox A/C-heater system that maintains it at 40% typically year round.

We used their Bostik glue product to place it down...We use the cleaning products and process they told us to follow as well. Our home has never had any water or moisture concerns, though simply looking at pictures we sent to them, they say we do. Still, about 6 weeks after it was laid down, cupping began... Now, after $4800, LL states it MUST be our problem.

The salespeople NEVER brought up the need to moisture check anything as well. That's because the tool costs a couple hundred $$ as well! When we contacted the 2 inspection companies LL sent us info on, one was honest enough to tell me that LL still denies the claims...This saved me another $350-450 for them to do a useless after-the-fact test...at least someone was honest! We liked the green aspects, but have wasted $4K doing it...

Seven years ago (we have the receipt) my husband and I purchased 2000 sq ft of laminate flooring from Lumber Liquidators. We also installed it ourselves subjecting us to the constant dust. Our two children lived at home and were 20 and 19 and living at home during college and my purebred Siamese cats have developed unexplained breathing and eye problems. My husband has COPD and cancer and I've been unable to work for a year due to joint and body pain and severe fatigue. My 25-year old son just moved out March 1st and our daughter about 2 years ago. This will have to be disclosed if we choose to sell the house so we want LL to pay for independent testing, put us up somewhere safe while the poisonous flooring is removed and replaced with genuine wood containing no glue and US made and monetary damages at the very least. We will have an attorney.

After seeing and reading about the 60 minutes investigation I think there is a serious issue with the flooring produced in China under the Lumber Liquidators corporation. Ever since getting the flooring installed throughout our entire home our family has had nothing by respiratory issues that were never present before. We installed the flooring in 2011. The product is St. Brazilian Koa 12mm and the label on the box that I kept states it is certified level 1. We made a conscious effort to eliminate as many indoor air contaminants as possible, formaldehyde being one of them. Our home was a sustainable built home and we intended to keep it that way. Shame on them for lacking the necessary oversight and trusting Chinese factories.

The materials purchased was to cover living room, dining room and bedroom suite. $3,000.00 later the flooring showed signs of bubbling and separating. I called and went to the store but they directed me to customer service. They would not accept responsibility and gave me the run around with mail and pictures. I must admit I gave up. The flooring in the front rooms was removed and tile installed by Home Depot.

NOW it's alleged that the flooring materials made in China contains an illegal amount of formaldehyde. The 3 flooring mills in China admitted that the sold flooring contained higher than California safety standards. The U.S. Department of Justice may file criminal charges for violations in Import Laws. New laws are about to be passed regarding acceptable levels of formaldehyde by our Government. I'm about to replace all the laminate in my bedroom because now I can account for my pulmonary problems. I have labels for the boxes, communications, and pictures etc.

We and the doctors have tried almost everything and still his respiratory issues will not clear up. We installed laminate flooring on our entire bottom level a few years ago and that laminate flooring is one with extreme levels of formaldehyde. Thank you Lumber Liquidators for causing harm to my family. We will now be living on a cement slab until we can afford flooring.

We purchased Morning Star Bamboo from LL in May 2014. Left it a month to acclimatize in our house before having a certified contractor install it. By October the boards had separated and cracked leaving 1/2 inch gaps in between them. We contacted LL to be told it was a humidity problem although the humidifier was set at the recommended 30%. We reset it to 50% but it made no difference. We have spend the last 4 months trying to get LL to rectify the problem with no success. The 30-year warranty that comes with this product is useless as they do not stand by the flooring they sell. I have now joined a class action lawsuit against Lumber Liquidators as I was sick of getting the run around from them when all I wanted was help.

After installing Brazilian cherry purchased at Lumber Liquidators a year and a half ago. I contacted them regarding excessive scratches, dents and chipping of the finish. After tallying excess of a hundred marks, dents and chips, I sent them pictures and my detailed findings. They sent me information regarding flooring and how to care for your floor. I find comical due to the fact we have been following everything recommended from the beginning. We are two adults in the house. We have paved walkways and drive. Our entry ways are tiled and we take our shoes off at the door. I dropped a key ring with one key on it and it left a dent and chipped the surface. I received no response in writing to validate my claims or any resolution. Their unwillingness to correct the defects is why I write this. My recommendation is to find a reputable company willing to stand behind their product, Lumber Liquidators is not it.

I went to Lumber Liquidators to purchase flooring, after looking at several products Morning Star Bamboo was recommended by the salesman. I had the flooring installed by Lumber Liquidators and within 2 months the flooring was separating. A second installer came to check my floors several months after my initial complaint, and I am still waiting to hear from the corporate office what they are planning to do. I researched this product (unfortunately after I purchased it) on the internet and found that there were multiple complaints about this product and I asked why Lumber Liquidators was recommending this product. My advice would be, research before shopping so a known bad product doesn't end up in your home.
