I had a positive experience. I bought a Liebherr refrigerator from a nearby shop, I went there to purchase a different brand, but Liebherr promoter explained about the brand and the models and I was happy to see some good features and especially the storage facility in it. I buy Liebherr fridge 2022 January red colour first. I think new brand wired but product after service but after sales and service good, product also excellent, this is my 2nd fridge compare with my old fridge. Great product which is of great quality with German feel in every inch. We chose this one instead of the tried and tested ones because the very quality it gives in the mere touch and feel. The cooling and other parameters are also excellent and is extremely quiet.

Other than the strange noises from the fridge it's an affordable fridge for the price. Other than that it's a small refrigerator and needs only few space & it's spacious inside and inside the panels are made of glass.

I purchased 365 liter capacity LIEBHERR Refrigerator in 1st week of March 2022. Service was good. Product has solid good quality build. Cooling effect is very good. It's noiseless. Compared it with other good brands available in market at different dealer shops and come across it at Tata Croma & Vijayasales. After seeing it physically & comparing it with other brands decided to go for it. Though one month is too early to comment on performance, so far we are satisfied. Also my neighbours & friends saw it and they too found it better in most of the aspects as compare to the refrigerator they have.

I am fully satisfied with refrigerator. I am first customer to buy this model fridge in Hyderabad. I was little confused initially to go beyond LG and Samsung but by knowing features of Liebherr model like easy fresh technology, interior and exterior look, I impressed and finally made my decision to buy. Delivery and installation was good. Also customer care and product. The spice jars were good. Lot of room for storage. One suggestion is to incorporate tempered glass instead of the current glass material.

Overall a satisfied customer. But again Leibherr must work on their design and release in subtle colours. Steel colour doesn’t work in all the markets. And Of course the design also. Can be a bit short in length.

Product is good with good cooling, door is hard to open. Once closing the door and try to open, one should hold the refrigerator and door handle to pull. I trying to open just with handle the refrigerator shakes by changing the position and food inside will shake and fall or spill.

Worst company ever! Sells bad units and doesn't care about their customers at all! Zero customer service and take no responsibility for their products. They don't stand behind what they sell. I paid $2800 for a 24" refrigerator and was told they're comparable to Thermador. What a JOKE. I'm stuck with a crap unit which hasn't worked for a single day and they wanna try to REPAIR IT!!! Terrible company. I should be receiving a replacement.

The fridge has given me good service. Months ago water dripped into the icemaker drawer creating blocks of ice. I took out the ice making tray to find that a corner of the plastic broke off permitting water to drip into the ice cube drawer. This plastic extruded part is 3 inches by 7 inches and produces 10 small ice cubes. I was given a price of $220.00 + taxes to replace. Since the freezer section is small I purchased a 5.1 ft3 separate Danby freezer 4 years ago to compensate. This entire freezer cost $199.00. Spare parts are always expensive but this is more than excessive. Very disappointed being held hostage to this practice. Wrote to LIEBHERR in the US and have received no response.

After 1 year waranty expired, now I am asking for same issues in my fridge, but they told charges applicable. In waranty time they are not solve this problem in corona lockdown period. I have purchased Liebherr refrigerator in month of August 2021 and from 23rd October 2021. Fridge is not giving cooling.. And we have launched a complaint on 23rd October 2021 as it was Saturday so we were not able to contact so we again called on Monday (I.E 25/10/2021) for complaint customer care people. They accept our complaint and told that they will resolve our complaint within 48 hrs. But still on 29/10/2021 they haven't resolved our complaint nor technician has contacted us...
After so many call and reminder to customer care everyday their answer is that they keep call on hold and talk with their fake service team and they pass on message that our technician will come in 1st half. This answer I am receiving from last 4 days and we take again followup that your technician has not yet came so the answer is that he is in your area only he will come but from last 4 days he is in our area but can't come.... And today answer after follow up is same that they will come in 1st half and plus they are not providing technician number also.... Worst worst worst service at all...

I bought Liebherr Single door refrigerator few months back and warranty expired recently. Product was not since purchased due to corona period. We were unable to use it because of lockdown. Refrigerator is still brand new but lock is coming out of the fitment. When approached customer care and service engineer they asking service charges of 650 + 200 for such a pathetic lock. Such a new item, and quality of lock is 3rd class, it is made of plastic and they don't even bother to address the issue. I strongly recommend to look at lock quality before purchase and avoid the brand in India. We have many more worthy brands like LG...

Liebherr Post Sales Service is just pathetic. They even don't bother to attend the complaint. Just close the ticket in weeks time without any resolution. They even don't bother to reply on your mail, even if you keep on sending multiple Reminders. Horrible means, no words on this earth, what kind of harassment they wanted to put consumers in....

We bought a Liebherr 346 litres, 3STCSS3540, double door refrigerator from Reliance digital store in Delhi, on 24 January, 2021 and it conked OFF in July 2021. No cooling. Compressor Shuts down and the Service team had no resolution.!! Then begins a long harassment time with Liebherr Service team, which is so smug that they are just not bothered. They will not pick calls-, not resolve the problem and harass the customers, no end. Untrustworthy, cheats!!!!

I bought my Refrigerator five years ago for several Thousand dollars. The door gaskets start going bad 2 years ago and can NOT find it anywhere because Liebherr decided NOT to make door gasket ($29) and they are telling me to trash the Refrigerator. They have TERIBBLE customer service and DO NOT even deserve ONE star. They DO not stand behind their product. DO NOT buy their product.

We bought a Liebherr split door refrigerator/freezer (2 drawers) about 8 years ago. Nothing but a headache. The fridge is fine but the ice maker function has been impossible. It was replaced about 6 times in the first couple of years. Now it is broken and impossible to get the parts needed to fix it. The glass shelf on the left door just fell and broke on its own. Service for these units is difficult to find, expensive, and replacement parts seem nonexistent. Purchase a fridge that can be serviced and maintained more easily. Expensive appliance that is nearly impossible to fix.

We bought a Liebherr double door refrigerator in Oct. 2018. Just after 2 and half years, there was an issue with cooling. It was found that there is gas leak from three places. We had to pay to refill the gas, much expensive than other brands. After paying for the repairs, we get only 3 months warranty. Overall, the experience was bad and stressful.

This refrigerator has worked with no issues for as long as we have owned it approximately four years. My only complaint is the size which provides limited storage but this is not the fault of the unit but rather the result of living in a Condo which has restricted room.

We wanted to love this fridge and we trusted the fact that it was a German. We have the 36" French door fridge and it is just an expensive piece of junk. It first broke about a year after purchase. First it was the ice maker, then the freezer stopped working and with time the fridge doors stopped closing properly. Even the rubber band around the door broke and the cables came out. The sensor beeps at random times, even in the middle of the night and we have to turn it off since the doors are actually closed and it is beeping for nothing. I have never seen anything like this! We tried repairing it twice but whatever they repaired broke again. All other appliances purchased around the same time work perfectly well. We have a German friend who purchased one too around the same time as us and he is experiencing the same problems. He is even more disappointed as he grew up thinking his country's appliances were the best.
After reading soo many similar experiences in the web we concluded that this company doesn't care about the quality of their fridges enough to address these problems. They make heavy duty equipment and other things that are not appliances and this could be just a small part of their revenue. Who knows why they are not addressing their customers' complaints... What I know is that I have to throw away my fridge and buy a new one (some other brand) since spending more money in repairing is just not worth it.

The last time that happened, in January 2021, I was no longer able to resurrect the IceMaker. So I called a Technical Service, the next day a technician came, made a series of checks and determined that the fault was in the electronic board that did not give voltage to the mini-pump that supplied water to the ice bucket. As I am trained in industrial electronics, I disassembled that board, and made a magnifying glass inspection. The board appeared to be fine, with SMD components, and no components were burned. It was also varnished which made it resist moisture well. The technician sent me a budget amounting to € 250. This was not an exorbitant price to change a plate at home, but at a glance, that plate did not cost more than € 80 COST. It is already known that later prices increase with transport, working hours, travel, etc. (they charge between € 50 and € 60 per hour). What I already questioned was if the problem was with the plate.
I then called another "Official Service" recommended by Liebherr. That technician started looking at the upper reservoir, as he said he doubted the plate was to blame. Looking a little over that reservoir (which includes the mini-pump), he determined that it needed to be replaced. He budgeted me € 425 for the repair, since to replace that tank the refrigerator had to be removed - it is paneled - between two technicians and therefore the labor became more expensive. As I am quite skilled, I disassembled the tank myself (which the technician did not do), removed the pump, disassembled it and saw that the little motor, which does not cost even 3 € in China, had the shaft stuck. I unhooked it and reassembled the pump. I mounted the tank, and the Ice Maker worked again.
Seeing the reference of the mini-pump, searching the Internet, it appeared that it was made in China (of course) AND IT COSTS € 16. In other words, the Technical Service should know that replacing the € 16 pump does not require more than half an hour, it is not necessary to remove the refrigerator, and it would have cost me about € 150 instead of € 425. So it seems that the seminars of Training of these technicians leaves much to be desired.

I purchased a Liebherr refrigerator from Abt in the Chicagoland area. The salesperson promoted it as a high-quality appliance, and it was costly. Yet it has been a source of aggravation and expense since the purchase; the temperature panel and door hinge (all plastic parts) break every two years. I am now waiting for the 3rd repair of these parts and hoping my food doesn't spoil, because the door now pops open at random times. On top of this several of the unit's drawers and shelf tops are also broken; they don't latch in place and often fall off/out. Because they are also made of thin plastic they easily crack. I would nor recommend this product.

If you think you purchased quality because it is German made think it again. After 5 month back and forth with their service department and dealing with different local service representatives they sent my refrigerator still is not cooling and no one seems to care. We are using our backup refrigerator in the garage.

I had purchased a Liebherr twin door refrigerator but very next day itself it's started to works in abnormal condition, not getting cooled in lower portion of the refrigerator, their authorised service person told me that in India Liebherr's almost all products are having many manufacturing defects, so I am telling here that with my personal experience is that don't go ahead with their product.

Our refrigerator is just 3.5 years old and our freezer has not working for the past three months. We have been very patient, and I called Liebherr today to try to get some kind of information as to how to move this along, as we need a freezer. All Liebherr kept saying is our product is out of the two-year warranty. Liebherr pushed me to where I bought it, and the appliance center told me to contact Liebherr. On top of the fact, no service person will work on a Liebherr. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, this is not a top of the line, or high-end product, just collecting your money. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Had purchased the fridge in July 2019. Worked for a year and in August 2020 the cooling issue started. After demonstrating a complaint on 2nd Sept 2020 even after continuous follow up till date the service engineer has not dropped to attend the breakdown. Would not give even a single star for the product. They are not worth for that too.

First fridge died at 2.5 years right after warranty expired, reason was pipes sandwiched in the fridge back burst and hence not repairable. Company offered me a new one for 400eur which I foolishly accepted (first one was 1300eur), same thing happened to my friend Nikos, burst pipes and fridge goes to be recycled, he too got the "offer". Kept only the icemaker from the first one just in case. At 2.5 years the icemaker doser died, service tech gave a part price of 600eur, so I have no icemaker since. And today the "Made in Germany" fridge completely died and me running to friends to store my mom's chemotherapy meds. Tons of local threads regarding this burst pipes "problem", I now regard this company as pure evil, they manufacture defective products on purpose according to where local laws allow them to do so.

Just bought a freezer with a height of 1,75 cm and there’s no matching refrigerator??? They only sell refrigerators in 10 longer or smaller and besides that also different model design etc. This is my last Liebherr. Goodbye.

I bought this fridge in November last year for my Parents who are living in India and it broke down in 7 months. It took ages to get someone to look at it and so it took another few weeks to get the part ordered. Now company won’t have people who can come and fix the part and every time we call they are giving us different dates but no one is showing up on any dates given so far.
When other family member called and ask if we can order a new fridge and when can we get delivered the response was straight away, "We can deliver you next working day." So company have people to deliver the New fridge but not to attend the service for broken fridge. When we ask why is it like that the company spoke person don’t have answer for it.
My parents are senior citizens And living by themselves and now have to struggle with this situation on daily basis and don’t have any fridge to store food from last few weeks have to buy daily essentials everyday especially in Covid pandemic when they shouldn’t be going out much. There is lack of customer care and no one is being helpful even though fridge comes with 10 years warranty. I highly recommend not to purchase this product as you will have lot of trouble to get it fixed if anything goes wrong.

Updated on 3/22/2022: I purchased refrigerator 2 years before. Good performance, energy efficient model, good space for 4 to 5 member, big vegetable box store more vegetables compare with my early brand. More space. Good fridge.
Original review: When I bought this ref I don't even know the brand name. The sales executive name called Vishwa. He is explaining about the brand. He told this is 65yrs old brand. The features he told that was very benefit to me. I bought it. Previously I was used Samsung frost free refrigerator. Compare to that ref LIEBHERR cooling was good. We can move self tray without taking out. Vegetables freshness easily can sustain a week. Without power cooling maintain approx 8 to 10hrs. Earlier ref only sustain below 4hrs.

I always believed in the philosophy "you get what you pay for" until I bought a LIEBHERR fridge and freezer costing over $10,000. They were both professionally installed in late January 2020 and within a week, our first fault occurred with the ice maker in the freezer, which never stops making ice and so causes the module to burn out after a couple of days.
We waited 10 days for the parts to be delivered and installed after the first service call for which we had already waited several days. The service engineer politely informed me that the manufacturer had decreed the ice maker was meant to be MANUALLY controlled so we must remember to switch off making ice once the bucket was full! (Clearly BS intended to cover up faulty design).
Fast forward a couple of months and now the fridge decides to start FREEZING produce. Bear in mind, this is in the middle of Covid lockdown so we are trying to preserve food and not ruin it. Two of the vegetable and produce drawers started to free items SOLID for example, lemons were "rocks" and all content had to be thrown out. This also affected the rest of the fridge areas with milk going icy, vegetables (even in the main fridge) turning to icy sludge.
Now onto the CRAPPY service from LIEBHERR. After a call with their "technician" we adjusted the program temperature higher which I insisted would not resolve the issue, however he insisted we wait 24 hours to see if it solved the problem - of course it didn't, it just wasted even more valuable produce. I called back the specialist that I had spoken with however he was off for the day and I was finally connected to a "specialist" who agreed with me that this may be caused by a faulty sensor, he agreed to arrange a service call and at my insistence make sure the required part was brought with him.
After waiting 2 more days for the service call, the engineer first called me to confirm he was on the way. I asked if he had the component and he had to call me back (clearly he didn't). Finally the engineer arrived and called the LIEBHERR specialist for instructions on how to proceed. He was told to go into the programming mode and set all the temperatures to MAXIMUM in order to resolve the issue. I insisted this would again not fix the problem however he told me he was instructed to leave and regardless of my insistence he connect me with the company first, he left the property.
I called the "specialist" at LIEBHERR and explained that far from being a layman, I am an electronics engineer with many years of diagnostic experience. I asked him to explain to me under what conditions would a fridge that had worked satisfactorily for 2 months suddenly start to freeze everything and be resolved by "turning up the temperature" - of course he could not but insisted he had followed the correct "procedure"! At this time I am waiting for the courtesy of a reply from their senior manager but have heard NOTHING yet. I advised the "specialist" that I would start to post my experiences of their product on a regular basis until I received the requested call.
In a nutshell - my experience so far with LIEBHERR products is extremely poor. The products are at the top of the price range for these items and consumers should expect quality products and in the case of faults, stellar service. In this case neither have materialized! To add insult to injury, the service engineer who arrived today left without resolving anything (or fitting the sensor he brought with him) arrived without gloves, had a facemask but did not wear it and seemed to have no idea of social distancing or any of the precautions we are all taking to stay safe in our own homes! Next time Sub-Zero!

The quality is very good... The freezer has a nice space.. You can freeze more things at a time... I have purchased it in last year Oct 2019. Compact and sturdy build quality, Good cooling effect, low noise, wide range in-built stabilizer. No need to put any stand below the fridge. The vegetable box is also quite large. The toughened glass above the vegetable box is also very useful on which we can place our things. Bought a Liebherr Brand Refrigerator. unable to pronounce still, that's the main reason why I resisted to look at the product initially. But when I had a touch feel of the product was curious to know more about the brand. Then was given to understand that it's a German Brand for 60 plus years, that experience was visible in the outlook of the product. Built quality and the design is an extraordinary when compare to other brands.. I bought Liebherr tcss2620 in the year of 2018.. from harsha electronics Mangalore. Working good and the flat design is very attractive. Will definitely give your kitchen a premium look, when comparing other brands it quite expensive but worth the money you are going to pay. I had friends and relatives who spoke quite highly of Liebherr. And because I trust their judgment, I decided to heed their recommendation. And I'm so very glad that I did, because my experience with Liebherr has been nothing short of wonderful so far. Spacious freezer, output design, compact, portable and ease of use is off the charts. Indeed, most of the features are satisfactory. There's VarioSafe room to store all of the cheeses, cold cuts, milk packs etc. That we consume as a family. That's obviously a very convenience. One more feature, Spice boxes system is very useful for my masala storage. First time I got, Vegetable sorting system, this is very good helpful for my Vegetable storage.

I purchased this Liebherr 350 litre fridge. Initially there was some problem but when I complained they changed it for me and since then I have no issues. I had Samsung fridge which was OK but I wanted something very premium and with liebherr I got premium fridge and also some very cool features which are not in any refrigerator.

I have purchased the Liebherr 346 ltr double door fridge from Croma Mumbai (based on their recommendation) on 2.8.19. As I have full respect of German Engineering, I purchased it. The fridge was working fine but since mid Dec 2019 (ie. after only 3.5 months) the trouble started. I have not changed any control yet the freezer started forming frost (in a frost free refrigerator). Above all the bottom chamber stopped cooling (for which I had to throw away lots of expensive food items).
Technician came and said that due to ice formation the fan on the bottom food section stopped and hence it was not cooling. He used a blower to melt the ice blocking the fan (perhaps) and adjusted temperature and fridge started working, but the food section was not cooling that well it used to. Today I have raised yet another complaint as the bottom food section stopped cooling again and upper freezer section is forming frost and ice as usual. I dont know when I will come out of this ordeal.... What an excellent German Technology I got!!! Not. I am waiting for the technician to visit me, till then I go for another round of expensive food waste.... Cheers!

I have owned a Liebherr fridge since 2012. The refrigeration has generally been good. Temperature is maintained in both compartments. The main issues, and there have been many, are structural as well as electronic. The plastic shelves have cracked as have the freezer bins. The ice maker fell apart and had to be replaced..The tracks on the two freezer drawers often get stuck. The main control panel had to be replaced. The unit beeps constantly and no one has had a solution. I have had to spend over $2000 on service calls and parts replacements. Buyer beware!

I shopped for 2 years to find the perfect fridge for my small kitchen, and Leibherr's model was the best for many reasons, namely its exceptional 5 year warranty, sleek design and efficiency. Given that I have had 3 major parts replaced within its first year of use (note: I live alone so minimum wear and tear), I am grateful for the warranty. The two different local technical service companies that have repaired it have also been exceptional.
My complaint is with Leibherr customer service in Orlando or Miami, FL at 866-543-2437 who I must contact to initiate a service call. Initially, they are responsive and helpful, but on at least two occasions they have sent the wrong parts, even when they have my correct model in writing. When one lives in a hot, humid environment and without a fridge for 2-3 weeks to wait for the needed parts and then wait another 3 days for the techs to schedule a visit, the inconvenience and expense of waiting is very stressful, at best. In addition, the service reps who answer the phone have given me wrong advice of how to mitigate the situation until the techs show up, i.e. not to defrost, not to shut the unit off, etc. When the techs come, they must return later after it defrosts or blow dry my unit before they can even start to repair it.
Given my above efforts, I escalated to their management: namely Shauna and Chris. I was always told that they were in meetings and promised that they would return my call, which never happened. Initially, Shauna replied via email and offered to connect me higher management, but she never followed up. The rep who answered the phone refused to give me the last name of Chris, the manager at the site nor him email address. Please note that I have tried repeatedly to express my frustrations directly with them before writing this review. When one spends $3,000.00 USD on a small fridge, wouldn't one expect better customer service from the manufacturer?

I purchased a Liebherr refrigerator in December of 2017. In August of 2019, the right hand side/unit of the refrigerator stopped cooling. We had Liebherr's repair people come to our house 3 times and they called Liebherr and told them that the refrigerator is not reparable. Keep in mind Liebherr is sold in 2 units (the left unit and the right unit). Debbie from Liebherr called me and said that they will replace the unit. I questioned Debbie and said the unit or the whole refrigerator and she said the whole refrigerator. I said to Debbie...thank you and she responded Liebherr really stands behind their products. She told me that Liebherr will ship the replacement to their installer and the installer will call me to set up an appointment to install the replacement. All seemed great at this point.
The installer (Almo) came and replaced the refrigerator on 9/17/19. I know we are now in mid September from when the refrigerator stopped working at the beginning of August. When I came home to see the replacement, Almo only replaced the right side or unit of the refrigerator and it is completely different from the left side of the refrigerator. Below are the differences (remember this is 1 refrigerator):
1. The replacement unit has two drawers (original unit only had 1), the back panel is stainless steel (the original (right side back panel is white), the drawers are blue (left side) (right side are clear drawers) and the shelves on the replacement unit is totally different with thicker shelving (metal holders).2. The original freezer is completely different too. In our original unit (right side), the ice dispenser had two drawers - one draw that had the ice made and then we would pour it to the other draw to fill up. The replacement is only 1 drawer that makes the ice.
As you can tell, I was very upset. I proceeded to call Almo and spoke to Katelyn. I sent Katelyn an email with pictures of how different the 2 sides of my 1 refrigerator is. She said, "Wow they are totally different." I said, "I know." She said that she'll look into it and get back to me. I then received a call from Miguel at Liebherr who said that he makes all the decisions at Liebherr and they will not replace the left side/unit to match the replacement (right side/unit) piece. He said that my model was discontinued because they upgraded it and if I want the 2 units to match then I will have to purchase the left side/unit. I proceeded to tell him that it's not my fault that the refrigerator broke and it's not my fault that they upgraded and the upgrade does not match my older model (only 1.5 years old). He said that they do not care if it is not aesthetically pleasing on the inside. They replaced the unit that broke and they will not do anymore.
I asked if I can speak with his manager and he said that he does not report to anyone. I guess the Liebherr family does not realize that Miguel is the new CEO. I keep replaying in my head what Debbie said....Liebherr stands behind their products. If they stood behind their products they would have replaced the entire refrigerator. I spent about $7k on this refrigerator and it shouldn't have broke/stopped cooling after 1.5 years. Liebherr DOES NOT stand behind their products! I will NEVER, NEVER buy a Libherr product again and you shouldn't either!

It's worst experience of getting a refrigerator of a world renown company. Had been using this refrigerator when I have abroad, was happy that I could get my choice refrigerator in India. But the experience I am having with the company makes me wonder that why is the company differentiate in India and abroad. Suckering. My ordeal started right from delivery of the product. The fridge was packed in my house and we're promised that installation will be done the next day. But it did not happen till 5 days that to after numerous follow up and emails. This did not end there. I had water leaking from the fridge, calls to the customer care does not help in India. The response is absolute pathetic. There is no link between service and call centre.
After continuous mails finally the tech came and tried to rectify but was not successful. Again follow up were done on mails, some arrangement service manager called and said the technology come again. After 3 days tech come and mentions that the fridge will be changed in a week times, till 10 days nothing happened. Then again my family called up for action nothing and I email again then tech brought some part and changed it. I have the same problem still. Unresolved.the service is pathetic with no concern for consumer's issues and do not take initiative to rectify issues and keep it hanging. Not at all happy with the company. It's better to use the brands which have a strong service and Grievance Dept. I made a wrong choice and still waiting for solutions.

Storing vegetables and fruits is what one needs and in a city you need to store. I chose Liebherr as it's flexible that has abundant space options without having to compromise. The features are apt to store the seafood and the fresh veggies for a long time. The freezer stocks up the cold cuts with ease for a long period of time. Dear Customers, Vendors of Liebherr refrigerator and Liebherr organisation. I am a genuine customer and not a competitor. Please note buying Liebherr refrigerator has been my worst experience with an electrical appliance bought ever. This is the first time we bought a Liebherr product with a lot of expectations. Within a 6-7 months' use, we have had issues with extreme cooling, water leakage from fridge - leading to health & sanitation issues of my family. My family has also suffered from food poisoning due to spoilt food and erratic cooling conditions of the fridge. There used to be continuous water leakage inside the fridge spoiling all raw vegetables, masalas and also cooked food. There were times, when there was no cooling and sometimes extreme cooling.
After logging a complaint for the first time with customer care on 23rd July **, a technician came within 2 days and mentioned that the issue needs to be checked and updated to head office for resolution. A second round of at least 10 follow ups thought 3 weeks, Arun ** obliged and assured that fridge will be replaced. This promise also seemed empty as it took more than a week and a series of follow ups to replace the fridge. Now finally after the packed fridge has arrived, my family has to go through another series of waiting for installation. Finally today I have a packed fridge + old fridge gone - with practically no fridge to use and another long wait for a technician to install. Engineers do not work after 6pm, but Liebherr is ok to have a customer have the worst experience since a month. After seeing at least 50 refrigerator brands I came across the brand Liebherr that has been new in India. After careful comparison and analysing what would suit my kitchen. The Liebherr TCss 3540 is unusually different and I must say classy cause the Stainless steel look is different from the other refrigerators I've seen. With immense space and adjustable shelves I could make space for everything. The highlight of the refrigerator that amazed me is the various shelf. It's the most useful feature where I can store the delicate essentials. I would give this refrigerator a thumbs up and perfect for those who love cooking and baking. I bought the new Liebherr refrigerator in Mumbai. Living with my husband and we are a family of 2. We bought the Liebherr TCR2640 from Vijay Sales Navi Mumbai. It's been a month of use and we are delighted to have taken the decision of buying it. Its vegetable sorter system and spice box is something no other fridge was offering to me, I needed space for my masalas and I needed space for my veggies since I love cooking. They really understood the practical needs of using the refrigerator which is why we bought it. The service was quick and we certainly had an easy installation. Did I mention the red color looks nice and different. Go for it if you want space. It's your best decision.

The vegetable sorter system is a blessing as vegetables store just right. I suggest if you're buying buy the 346 ltr. It works better and the cool pack really works.

Within a month of purchase, it started giving cooling issues. The vegetables are getting soggy. Although it's a frost-free fridge, the freezer has ice frost accumulated badly. After complaining several times there is no action. Overall worst product.

We bought this fridge hoping it will be good because of its German technology. But just after a month the vegetables and milk and any product kept in the interior of fridge was getting frozen. We complained but the answer was, "As it's kept too close to the vent it's getting frozen." The Liebherr technician asked to keep things one inch away from the vent. Ours is a double door fridge. Can't understand why things were getting frozen (never such issues with our previous brand). Now after few months water is leaking from a opening suddenly when we open the door from the top portion of the fridge. This is happening every day. The technician who came reset the temperature and said it is fine. But water has not stopped leaking. So much humidity inside the fridge. Very pathetic experience with the fridge.

Ice maker has never worked. The drain in fridge is always clogged causing smelly back-up. Water runs down the back of fridge causing everything to be wet inside. All the labels even fell off our beer bottles from always being wet. Also, fridge not cold enough. The freezer stopped working while we were on vacay and when they finally came to fix it, now the fridge is broken too after they left. Thank goodness for my very cheap Frigidaire brand fridge in the garage. It works and saved our food from spoiling again. DO NOT EVER BUY A LIEBHERR refrigerator. You will be sorry.

We have purchased this product two month ago from Vijay Sales in Ghodbunder Road and in two month it’s started issue with cooling and on side we are getting electrical shock. Please don't buy for safety of your kids. Looks good but should be working otherwise it’s no use.

I have purchased Liebherr Refrigerator on 09-11-2018 from Croma. Got the product in defective condition. Made complaint since day 1 more than 25 times, service technician visited, was been told that I will be replaced with the new products. Not got till now. Paid 6 emi for the product 2 remaining... Very poor product... Do not recommend anyone. The product should be completely banned in India as well as I'm the country. Company should be shut down. They are scamming people. Robbing our harden money....

There seems to be poor or no service support for Liebherr after the product is out of warranty. I will never buy or recommend a Liebherr product. Buy a brand which is more common & can be serviced. The ice tray on my ice maker shattered after about 6 years. I called Liebherr who gave me the name of the Liebherr authorized service technician in my area (there is only one) that they contract with. The technician picked the ice maker up & won't return phone calls or texts after 6 weeks. I called Liebherr about this & they won't help to get the service company to call me back. This gives me no support of their product after it's out of warranty and would take no responsibility for referring me to the only Liebherr service tech in my area. The attitude of the service people at Liebherr was poor, as if they don't really care about the customer after they have sold the appliance.

LIEBHERR 265 new brand fridge purchased in Jan month 2019 which has problem in freezer and full ice cubes on the walls and water bubbles on wall and fail in testing for second time. Moreover it is getting ice cubes on the fruits and vegetables. My experience is very bad. As of now from the company side they it replaced and will get new, however it is not confirmed that we get issues after one year, so please be careful while purchasing new brands. We spend 28000 rupees but not satisfy and total waste of time.

We bought our Liebherr refrigerator freezer when we built our home in 2012. It was a very expensive refrigerator that we thought would complement our high end kitchen well. We had this refrigerator “built in” with a cabinet exterior. Needless to say this refrigerator has been nothing but problems almost from day one. The ice maker when it did work produced only about a dozen of the tiniest little ice cubes about every 24 hours which is not even remotely the amount we use on a daily basis. We had technicians out several times to try to improve production but it never helped. We ended up disconnecting the ice maker years ago as it was more trouble than it was worth.
We have since been struggling with the two lower freezer compartments that barely keep items even half frozen. If you put ice cream in it you will have a soupy mess. The freezer alarm goes off constantly to let you know the freezer compartments are not at freezer temperature which usually occurs in the middle of the night or when we have come back from a few days away. We have finally made the decision to do full research on a replacement refrigerator freezer and pull the plug literally on our Liebherr. It is not worth the trouble any longer, unfortunately it was a built-in model so it may be a little difficult to find a close fit. My advice to anyone is avoid purchasing a Liebherr refrigerator.

My wife and I bought a 24" wide x 79" tall Liebherr fridge in 2009 as we were told it was the best in that size. It was like $2800, the price of a used car I thought then. We live on a houseboat in Seattle. From the beginning we had problems - broken handles, shelves that needed mending with plexiglass and epoxy. But worst of all, we had to defrost the freezer at near weekly intervals. And the drain in the fridge compartment would freeze up or smell so horribly that we injected bleach with a syringe to keep the smell down. We are dumping this fridge (and describing its shortcomings to anyone who is foolish enough to get it) for a Bosch, which we are assured will be less challenging. Remains to be seen. I have never had a fridge this disappointing. All the others ran for years, decades even, and failed at the end of their lives - as expected. But they did not fail on a weekly basis. Best of luck to anyone who still has a Liebherr. Never again for us.

We bought our Liebherr 8 years ago. We have had nothing but problems since the very beginning. In less than a year, shelves break, the gaskets rips apart, the shelves in the doors can't withstand normal use, the ice maker works intermittently, etc. We've had a repairman out at least once every year and a half. Currently, we get ice build-up on the bottom of the freezer. Now our fridge will not work at all. Given the price point, I expected so much more. I never had problems with my cheaper appliance! My warning to you - don't buy it!

I had a Liebherr fridge/freezer for about ten years. It packed up so I decided to invest in another one. Bad move. We ordered a fridge/freezer and it was so noisy. Plus, on a number of occasions we thought we had closed the doors but we didn't and the freezer door doesn't have an alarm so our food had started to defrost. On our old model, the alarm went off. The shop that supplied our fridge/freezer came to inspect it and agreed it was very noisy and replaced it. The new one has exactly the same problem - it's noisy - it's like having a vacuum cleaner on in the corner of the kitchen. Plus, we have left the freezer door open now by mistake on at least four occasions - no alarm - I think you literally have to slam the door shut otherwise it will not close. I am so disappointed with my new Liebherr and I will never buy another product from them.

I'm seeing all of these horrific reviews and I can only assume that they're either written by competitors or people who have just had really bad luck. I had a 24" Liebherr in my last place that I bought new and lived with for 5 years until I sold my condo. I've since moved into a house that happened to have a full-sized integrated Liebherr installed. According to the serial number sticker it's almost 10 years old now and is still perfect, silent, and a pleasure to live with. Liebherr has meticulous records on all of its past products so they were able to give this appliances complete history.
Apparently in the first year the previous owners had a couple of small issues at the start (a drawer was cracked and the display had a fault) but since then nothing. I don't have any vested interest in Liebherr other than the fact that as an architect I like to specify quality products in my designs and it's frustrating to me that so many people take it upon themselves to dump on something and so few ever give positive reports. So here's one at least. (or two, since I can attest for two fridges, and am sort of a repeat customer.)

Anyone who has read reviews of Liebherr refrigerators is aware that many are highly critical; most have ratings of 1-2 stars. There are also a lot of complaints about service assistance. That being said, our experience is different. We purchased two 28" refrigerator/freezer units when remodeling our kitchen in 2011. One unit has worked well until just recently. The other unit had multiple problems and after a number of attempts to repair it by several repair companies it was replaced, without charge, in January 2016. The second unit was fine until July of 2018 when the refrigerator temperature started to rise overnight, only to recover after the door was opened in the morning.
After three service calls on this unit it too was determined to be unrepairable and it has just been replaced, at no cost to us, by Liebherr. Almost all of the interaction with Liebherr about the problems with our units was via email, and the customer service reps could not have been more helpful. As is obvious, we have had a lot of problems with these fridges. But the unit replaced nearly three years ago has been faultless. And the new units clearly show Liebherr’s efforts to make a better fridge. Newer door hinges, that self-close, are a real improvement. The new model has a metal indoor back panel to prevent the frequent complaints about the back icing up when food comes in contact with it.
We went with Liebherr because of its clean, uncomplicated look and simple interior, and we continue to appreciate that. So I give 5 stars for customer satisfaction when problems arose. And 2-3 stars for equipment reliability, but hopefully their efforts toward continued product improvement will bring that rating higher. I’ll update after we have had the second unit for a while.

Our experience after four days is one of major disappointment. It required service on day two. The ice maker didn’t work at all. Bleeding some air from the water feed line and cycling the ice maker 2-3 times should have done the trick. It didn’t. In the 31 hours since the service rep left, the ice maker made 18 cubes. We could have done better with old metal ice trays from the Paleolithic Era. The service rep said, “One customer who had a Liebherr told me, ‘Europeans don’t really like ice.’” Well, this is the U.S., and my family is used to an ice maker that can do the job. Avoid Liebherr if you want ice.

Bought the 24 inch model CS 1310 in early 2011, was $2.600 plus. It worked fine until late September 2017, then the temps went up in the unit. Manual defrost done per service advice and lasted 8 months, then has happened about every 5 weeks since then even with new parts put in the last 2 times. From what I have been reading, this seems to be a problem and should not be happening to such a PRICEY product after 7 years. Possibly "planned obsolescence"? Very disappointing.

I wish I had read reviews before buying a Liebherr 48" Side by Side Built in refrigerator. Since day one we have had nothing but problems, spent money numerous times on the same problem, and there are ongoing issues that can't be resolved as they are actual design flaws and this is "just the way they are." Years and years later, reading reviews, I am reading all the EXACT complaints that we have had. 1) Ice Maker-have had it fixed multiple times. The ice would build up, then the tray would crack because it couldn't rotate. They finally came out with a "better" version of the tray component, which also broke. Reading, this is an ongoing problem. The ice is VERY slow to make too, if you empty the bin, it may be two days before you are 1/3 full again.
2) Ice builds up in the bottom of the freezer, so you have to chisel it out or else the temperature gets off and you get beeping (mostly in the middle of the night) and the refrigeration temperature never seems to be right anyways. 3) Almost every drawer has cracked and the cheap shelving has broken. 4) Biggest issue we have (the design flaw) is the back of the refrigerator side has a little hole. This little hole was later placed for the function of the refrigerator, but what it did is cause the refrigerator to continually fill up with water because it gets clogged, then the condensation builds up, the bottom fills with water and then pours out the bottom of the refrigerator.
I have towels at the bottom of my fridge, unless you take out your drawers often, use a straw to blow out the little hole, otherwise the water will fill out and pour out. We called the place we originally bought it from (who still sells this unit) and told them all the problems, which seemed they really didn't want to hear and he agreed that this is a bad design. As if it can't get any worse, it does. The lady who sold us this fridge, and it was our first "built in" didn't inform us that it is NOT standard sized! Most "built in" 48" are 82-83" tall, this one is about 80" as it's European. We designed our whole kitchen around our appliances, so now we have a cabinet over this fridge and the whole right side of our kitchen cabinetry has to be modified to fit a standard 48" refrigerator and we refuse to buy another Liebherr, which is like a bad word in our home!

We have owned two ICN 3056 11E/557, one of it suddenly broke down after three years but revived after put it to rest for a day, unknown root cause. Another one broke down last week. I looked into the manual, it has stated that the bottom ventilation opening required 200CM square as the top ventilation opening. The local vendor only provided with 60 CM square, the service staff came and told me it is not an issue, he told me is the controller issue without examining any of the parts, and charged me 220 euros. Seems to be a PTC problem since the controller is not showing any error code, it is perfectly working and gives alarms. I am confused of whether I should provide their service provider services or vice versa, seems there is a product intrinsic quality issue, and bad services.

@3500 each for a 24" counter depth freezer and ref (HF 861), my client could have gotten a used GE or LG Freezer. The weather stripping is coming off for the second time, Icemaker has never worked. We (after a full replacement) and their customer service line is dreadful, each time I call they want me to try a new troubleshooting step. Liebherr just changed their policy on repairs so no more guarantee on their products. Save yourself time and money and buy literally any other brand.

Absurdly constructed product that has no customer service backing, arrogant customer service full of lies about the "quality" of the product. A total waste of money full of headache. I've never experienced any product so cruelly deceptive backed by con men and women who represent this company's "customer service." Horrible workmanship, design, and engineering. The worst ever. I'm the unlucky guy who was sold a bag of goods from kitchen designer regarding the Liebherr C-1650 refrigerator, freezer "with ice maker". I bought eight of them in 2009 and I could have bought two very nice new cars at that time for the same price. They are EXTREMELY expensive, horribly constructed appliances. It's beyond belief how horrible they are. My maintenance man recently said, "a person could live off what you spend on repairs for those refrigerators". In nine years each ice maker has been replaced at least three times! There are constantly issues. There's one now that has a brand new ice maker in it that we can't get to produce ice for six months now.

Refrigerator leaks water all over my food. Repairman just left after explaining that if anything touches the interior back walls of the refrigerator it will leak water. Can't be fixed. So now I have to buy a new refrigerator. Wished I had read all the negative reviews before spending the big bucks.

We have owned C 16 model of Liebherr refrigerator since 2014. Over that time, we have had multiple issues - from breaking shelves on the front door, to the front metal handle coming off, to constant leaking inside, etc. It has been non-stop, and we are sick and tired to dealing. Never in my life have I had issues with multiple plastic parts breaking of a fridge... We are a small family of three, so the problems cannot be blamed on the extensive usage. It is just a cheaply built appliance. Please, save your money, time and nerve cells, and stay away from this model.

My husband and I won 2007 Obie award for Best Kitchen remodel in Georgia. The Liebherr fit my requirements inside and held the decorative panels on the outside. Almost immediately we had problems the other consumers had. Ice maker has broken down twice after 2 years of usage... $900 replacement. The so called cooler unit freezes up and once or more a year I get to "defrost" the ice in the back. It constantly drips inside the refrig. unit thus having to wet vacuum the bottom to get out the water. Liebherr refused to acknowledge all my problems. A technician was sent out and he couldn't adjust any temperature to make things any better. You can believe that my customers know never to buy this for their kitchen. It is sweating so much inside now that I believe it is on its last leg.

Liebherr Refrigerator freezers: I purchased these 2 units at an auction at Elite Appliance. They were sold as new but with cosmetic issues. They worked for 7 months, then both units failed. When I called for service, I was told that these were not new, rather they were second hand. No one would take responsibility for the lie. Not Elite Appliance, Almo the distributor that sold them the units, or Liebherr. Pieces of junk. Do not buy!

The 24" cannot keep a steady temp. The back wall of the "No Frost" freezer is thick with ice and it's alarm beeps throughout the night (need to wake every 3 hours) but this is not all. Yesterday as I tried to nudge a recalcitrant freezer drawer in place with a small push, the under separation panel (made in glass!!!) jumped out to hit me and land on the floor to shatter in thousand pieces... A repair man came today and had the nerve to scold me about being too rough with the drawer. "It's very sensitive you must be very careful!!!" (I am in Spain where I guess they don't know about quality fridges.) Oh ya, a real beauty!

As you know if you're reading this a Liebherr Refrigerator costs as much as a decent used car. For that kind of money you'd think you would get quality. You'd think if something breaks there would be a repair network for it. You'd think the customer service people would try to help. You'd be dead wrong on all counts. I have had a Liebherr refrigerator freezer that has been a continual nightmare. The icemaker has been broken almost since we installed the appliance. We've given up on that after endlessly trying to get it fixed. Now the freezer is not working. For the past three weeks we have had no freezer. I cannot get a repair person out here. I live in a major west-coast metro area. I could understand that it would be hard to get a repair if I were in some remote location, but that is not the case. Of the repair people Liebherr recommended only one would respond.
They came out, pulled the unit out of its cabinet, damaging the veneer in the process. Took the back off and decided that another person would have to come out and look at it. For this they billed me $160. After a week, I called and was told they couldn't deal with it. I had the credit card company stop payment and we're still trying to resolve that. Second person was from about 50 miles away and would only come out if I agreed to pay him $300. Cash only, no checks, no credit card. I agreed because I need a freezer. He did nothing. Ran some diagnostics. Told me I needed two parts and he would only come back if I paid him another $300. Cash. And I'd have to get the parts. These are the best people Liebherr could recommend. This is so sleazy that it borders on criminal. I decided I'd had enough with Liebherr and went shopping for a replacement unit thinking I'd be better off just cutting my losses at this stage.
As it happened the local rep was in the store when I was there. He told me he'd work to get it straightened out. So, several days later repairman number 3 shows up. He takes the freezer apart and decides he can't do anything and anyway, he's going on vacation for two weeks so he'll get back to me. I have spent untold hours on the phone with these people. I have dealt with three of their repair people. The only thing I have to show for it is a $300 cash payment to one of them and a credit card battle with the other. My freezer is still not functional. My icemaker has never worked. You would be out of your mind to buy a Liebherr anything.

Bought an expensive Liebherr fridgefreezer in September 2016 which failed whilst we were on holiday 10 months later. So contents ruined and no compensation from Liebherr or Appliance City who we purchased it from. Independent engineer was sent to diagnose problem and was told twice by Liebherr to regas it, even though it was leaking! Surely dangerous and not going to solve the problem at all! So the nice engineer 'wrote off' the fridgefreezer and we have spent 3 weeks trying to get a replacement under the warranty.
Many, many phone calls and emails were needed to chase Liebherr and Appliance City. Neither of them would take responsibility for changing it, both trying to delay as much as possible and telling blatant lies about not having it in stock and exceedingly delayed delivery of another month before they could get one to us in the hope we gave up chasing it. New one just arrived... Will have to see how long it lasts! Great style and massive capacity though.

This is my second Liebherr refrigerator after the first one lost all the Freon due to the defective lining. They use aluminum linings which are corroded very fast. They replaced it after two years of trouble. The representative of the brand in Greece made a conciliation and they proposed to sell me a new one. I paid an extra amount of 500€ to receive a newer model which was worth around 800€. Within two years the problems begun! Now it runs for an hour it hardly cools and then the motor stops and doesn't kick in again. No more expensive worthless Liebherr refrigerators for me!!!

I've had my Liebherr refrigerator for a several years now. It looks good, but so many things have gone wrong with it from the beginning. The inside sweats, a lot. It has sweat so much that water pools in the bottom, under the crisper drawer, if I don't constantly wipe it out. In the freezer, the ice maker stopped working. The ice tray cracked and the mother board failed. It was a mess because water flowed into the ice drawer and froze. Since this is considered a high-end appliance, the repairs and replacement parts were not cheap either. My complaint is that it is a piece of junk with a high price tag, plus huge repair and replacement expenses. Never buying Liebherr again.

Beginning in year 5 our expensive built in Liebherr started to have problem after problem. Many of the appliance service companies recommended by Liebherr wouldn't service the fridge, or came out once and refused to come back for the next problem. By phone, Liebherr was not at all helpful. After 6 weeks of frustration I found their FB page and posted my complaints. Their Social media team was very helpful, got a service supervisor to call with a recommendation... An appliance service company that said they didn't service fridges!! However they recommended an individual who did fix things. Go to Social media for help with Liebherr.

The Liebherr Home refrigerator is simply horrible. I strongly recommend against purchase of a Liebherr refrigerator. The inside walls get wet with moisture. It ruins your food. The refrigerator is advertised as frost free. I have never experienced this with a new refrigerator before.

The worst purchase I have ever made. I write to advise consumers to avoid Liebherr fridge freezers at all costs. I purchased a Liebherr fridge for my daughter in October 2016 and my daughter has been experiencing problems ever since. The fridge had never run at the proper temperature. The temperature is never constant and is always below 38F, it is closer to 50 and lower. We have been told that there is nothing wrong with the fridge. Now we have been told to keep the fridge-freezer at the highest setting at all times! The company refuses to accept the fridge-freezer is faulty. My daughter is therefore stuck with a malfunctioning fridge that is unlikely to last much beyond its 2-year guarantee.

The 48 inch unit has a refrigerator, bio fresh and freezer units. It had problems within the first 6 months. Ice maker cracked and stopped working; got it replaced twice. The plastic boxes for crisper in the refrigerator, bio fresh and freezer unit are extremely poor quality and cracked sooner or later. Bought replacements multiple times but had problems again. Had other problems and had to replace some sensors. Finally this year the freezer stopped working. The authorized service who charged me $1200 replaced parts but it stopped working within a week. Finally I was told by Liebherr that since the unit is 8 years old all they could offer is a 30% discount on the freezer unit but I will have to pay full price on the others - about $10,000! What a mistake - worst appliance I ever owned!!!

I inherited a brand new Liebherr Fridge (RB1400) and Freezer/Wine Fridge combo (WF1051) with the purchase of our home in 2013. Six months after moving in was the start to the line of issues we've had with the Liebherr units: September 2013: The freezer compressor was replaced. June 2014: The freezer compressor was replaced again along with several other system components as the technician was unsure why the compressor kept going out. December 2014: the freezer ice tray cracked and broke leading to no ice. A new ice-tray kit was installed.
May 2016: the door shelving unit to the refrigerator cracked and broke. After living with no door shelf for eight months, we replaced it in December 2016. January 2017: the freezer again began to show signs that it is once again going out (i.e. the wine fridge is not keeping its temperature and the temperature alarm system goes off same signs that we experienced in Sept 2013 and June 2014). The Liebherr authorized repairman many suggested that we replace the sensor. We place the order for the sensor and waited a month for the install. When installing, the repairman realized there was a leak in the evaporator which is non-repairable because it is encased in foam.
After speaking with Liebherr customer service about all of my prior issues and this, there is nothing they'll do for me except give me an approximately 30% discount for a replacement. HOWEVER, I'll have to replace BOTH the refrigerator and the freezer/wine fridge combo because the new freezer/wine fridge combos are utilize a different bracket and thus are not compatible with my older (but working) model refrigerator. There is no way I'm replacing both sides with a Liebherr product after all the insane issues I've experienced. Please DO NOT purchase a Liebherr appliance unless you are willing to spend thousands of additional money and time to deal with the issues you are bound to have.

My experience was so different from what I'm reading that I'm compelled to comment. My model 1311, 24" wide with no ice maker, purchased in 2009, started beeping and stopped cooling seven years after I bought it. I would give it 5 stars, but seven years does seem like a short life for a fridge. As I wondered if it was covered by the limited extended 7-12 year warranty, I emailed the address given, asking how they could service a fridge in Vancouver, Canada, when they are in Ontario. They sent me the phone number of a local service person, said he would know if it was covered by warranty. Service person declared it unrepairable, said the company would phone me in a week about replacing the fridge, as it was covered by the warranty. They phoned in a week, and have replaced the fridge. The installer said that all the problems have been with the first generation models, and the new models seem to have the kinks worked out.

Every day my husband says "I love this new refrigerator". It is a french door with a door-in-door and the black stainless color is wonderful! Plenty of ice too! This refrigerator cost less than a high end brand and yet has all the features!

I bought a stand-alone Liebherr 4 drawer freezer and a Liebherr fridge in 2003/4 (12-13 years) and these have worked perfectly ever since despite never having had a service. I have had a fire in my apartment and the insurance company has written off the fridge and freezer as it would cost more to clean and test them than to buy a replacement. The kitchen was also written off in the fire so I am looking for built-in fridge and freezer for the kitchen (the stand alone units were in a utility room next to my roof terrace; useful for keeping beer cool). Because of my good experience with Liebherr I was thinking of buying this brand.
As part of my search I came across the Consumeraffairs.com site with all of the negative reviews and it is certainly giving me some pause for thought. The most common fault appears to be the ice-maker which, as one respondent mentions, we in Europe seldom use. The second most common problem appears to be the doors not shutting properly, especially on the units with two doors, again something less used in Europe. I am a little more worried about the problems with ice forming at the back of the fridge, the number of components that just break, the unreliability of the temperature control and the poor response from Liebherr. Has the quality of Liebherr dropped in recent years. Have the products become more complex and therefore less reliable or is there a specific problem with US based products – I found one review from the Netherlands where I live among all of the US based complaints.

My experiences with Liebherr are terrible. Unable to get a service person to repair refrigerator. Refrigerator was 6,500.00 and have constant problems. Freezer is full of ice. Cannot adjust the temperature in the freezer. No help with any problems and no service available. Gerhard's Store where we purchased this is no better.

This was a very expensive unit that is designed to be integrated with your kitchen cabinets by placing panels on the doors and freezer compartments. The left door doesn't close properly and you must open both doors in order to close them together otherwise you can't close the left door. They refuse to help me out with the problem and they say I must contact the cabinet installer, when I know and they know that is not the problem. A terrible company to deal with. The amount paid for this refrigerator is more than 3 times what a normal refrigerator does where the doors close properly. I read that many people have the same issue and it is a recurring one, but the company refuses to address the problem. Would not recommend it to anyone. A big disappointment and frustration. Choose another brand if you want to avoid a big headache.

We purchased a house in NYC that had this built in refrigerator/freezer. It looks beautiful as a built in, but that's about the end of it. It wasn't that old (2 years old), but the previous owners had given up on it working. We had the Ice Maker repaired for a few hundred dollars...only to have it go bad again 6 months later... The repair company actually asked us not to try and repair it because they said the brand is so incredibly bad. We had it repaired again and again. Why? Because it will cost $7k to replace it (similar to the original price). For that much money, an appliance better live for about 20 years.
The problem with the ice maker was 2 things... the ice maker was broken, but it only works when it's below zero. The temperature control is so bad in the freezer that my Ice Cream melts and is always soft even when the temp says 4 degrees. The reviews I've seen from others on this brand are quite similar. I'd never in 1000 years want a product from this company again.

The 24" Liebherr refrigerator that came with the apartment I purchased is a piece of junk! It was just about 5 years old when the original owner paid over $600 in repair costs over 2 repair visits... Just a few months later I needed to replace the sensor for another $500. Now it is only 2 months later and once again the refrigerator is not maintaining cold temperature. I refuse to put another nickel into this terrible appliance and will have to replace it. Liebherr service was not at all accommodating! All they were willing to do was give me the names of authorized service companies which charge $200 just to walk in the door.

We received these refrigerators in our new Newark based building and have had problems since they were installed. We have repeatedly contacted company to address the automatic ice maker with ZERO resolution. We are in the new building a year and the ice maker has worked maybe 2 months. The door handles are also very difficult to open - they are thin with little ability to grip. Would NOT recommend wasting money on this refrigerator.

CS1311CS1360/07011/7084638 - 00. One shelf on the door broke off after 3 months. The butter compartment broke as well. Now the actual handle on the refrigerator door broke off completely and there were 4 plastic parts scattered on the floor! Were I a very strong woman I might have thought I opened the door too quickly or carelessly. I have always had little arm strength and am frequently called delicate! I am blamed repeatedly for every issue. Having owned 2 extra large SubZero refrigerators in my former home and had no problems with either one, I know it is not me that is making this happen.

Our experience with Liebherr Refrigerator has been appalling to say the least. We moved into our new house in 2004 and I would think on average the fridge has broken down every three years. The temperature dial for the fridge keeps going haywire. And of course it is always just out of warranty when this happens. It's cost us a small fortune getting it repaired and not to mention the really stressful situations this causes when it happens again and again. I find the suppliers/service people here in Ireland totally inadequate in their response. I don't think once I got an apology from them for all the stress their product has caused. I would not touch any Liebherr product ever again and would advise anybody to run a million miles from them also.

We bought the Liebherr when we were renovating our kitchen in 2009. I just opened the site to see how to make the freezer stop beeping. I was not surprised to see that we experienced just about every complaint in the recent postings. We had the second authorized repairman 8 times. I could not find the paperwork for the first repairman. Our first complaint when the refrigerator arrived was the pokey ice production. Our dealer contacted Liebherr and was told that Europeans don't use as much ice as Americans. That was a stunning reply since I bought in the US.
Then we started having constant problems with the French doors closing. We had many visits from the first repairman, after which the second repairman , who seemed more knowledgeable, repaired the doors. We had to have the suction trim replaced. We also had a problem with the back of the refrigerator freezing, clogging the drain. The two drawers filled with water and the fresh produce kept freezing. The refrigerator has been a huge disappointment. From our experience, I would never recommend this refrigerator. My husband & I recall our parents having the same refrigerator for our entire childhoods. Those days are surely long gone.

I, too, have never written a consumer review for an appliance I've purchased, however I feel compelled to warn anyone thinking of purchasing one of these refrigerators. Almost every issue documented in previous reviews has also happened to me. The unit is three years old and it is, literally, falling apart. Any tray that relies on a plastic component is now broken - all the door trays are duct taped up and the freezer bins are cracked at every stress point. Every time I open the freezer, I hope to have a couple cubes of ice. The ice maker was repaired several times early on in the purchase, then flooded, and then produced 12 - 20 tiny cubes of ice daily for two years. Now it's broken and my appliance company hopes to have luck getting Liebherr to respond to them. It's the most frustrating high end appliance I have ever chosen and I regret it every day.

After several visits from the official Dutch Liebherr repair service, Liebherr gave up on its own product! This top of the line Liebherr 3967-A20 RVS only lasted its Very limited warranty of 2 Years. This refrigerator listed at 3299 Euros in 2008. So after 4 visits the official Liebherr service person gave up and declared this unit not repairable. So I expected that a company like Liebherr would not hesitate to rectify the situation. So Liebherr replied that although the situation was extremely regrettable that the best that Liebherr could do was to Sell Me a new refrigerator at a reduced price. So how much you ask? CBNPes3967 for 1083,32 incl. BTW, for those of you outside of Holland that's 1083.32 Euro including VAT.
Naturally, I told them that that would be completely unacceptable. Just imagine buying a very expensive refrigerator and have it fail only to make the same mistake again with a company that does not guarantee its products sufficiently. I then turned to Liebherr Germany to hopefully find someone to take responsibility for the sale of this faulty product. Well as you can imagine, I did not find anyone that was willing to do anything more than try and sell me another one of their products. Watch out people! OH there's more! Several other people bought this brand only to regret it later, see for yourself.

This is the product that could be great if only the parent company would allow it to be great. Some of the problems we've encountered have been solved (for our needs, anyway). The major problem has not. Some of this will help you, I think. Some of it will annoy you more. Icing on the back of the fridge. There will always be frost and, especially in humid climates, some ice on the back of the fridge. This is a compromise for the depth of the fridge. We put meats and other items like pickles, etc, at the very back of the fridge to keep them as cold as possible. There's a risk of it freezing if you rest it against the back. We live in an apartment and are used to these compromises. If you live in a house, get a bigger fridge that cools itself more traditionally.
Icing and drain plug clogging. These are related issues in our experience. For whatever reason, the fridge circulation fan is defaulted to the off position. With this off you will get a lot more icing on the back of the fridge. This will then clog your drain plug with ice. Turn the fan on and occasionally check to see if it is still on - a power outage will turn it off again. We've had it running for about a year and no more ice issues.
What to do if the drain plugs up. You will need to defrost the fridge completely and have it turned off - leave the doors open. Wait until the ice melts. If there are sheets of ice, wait until they sort of melt, then pull them out - otherwise, expect large puddles. We poured some hot water from the tap (not boiled water) into the drain to help it along, but that took forever. Now's a good time to clean the back wall of the fridge. Not too bad, all things considered.
FINALLY: THE ICE MAKER -- this is the worst part about the fridge. If the parts were cheaper, it would be an Ok compromise. It is a small unit and will provide enough ice in the Summer for a couple people who drink ice water all the time. Family amount of ice? No. Problems: the ice tray itself. Our first one lasted about 2 years. Consecutive trays, much less. It has broken in a couple ways: First, the thermistor attachment assembly breaks off the ice tray. Ice stops working. Second, the plastic tray (because it is torqued to remove the ice) gets cracks in it. You then get water and some ice cubes. The water then freezes the ice cubes that do make it out and it freezes into one solid mass on the bottom of the ice tray. Fun.
REPLACEMENT COST. Can you buy just the plastic ice tray? No, you have to buy one ice tray, one thermistor assembly, and two plastic parts that never break. Ever. Cost - $150+ shipping. So the only part that ever breaks is the plastic ice tray and the plastic retainer of the thermistor. So, every 9-15 months the ice cube tray gets cracks or the plastic part that keeps the thermistor in place breaks. If it was $20 we would be Ok with it - again, we're used to these kinds of annoyances and compromises living in an apartment. It's also pretty easy to replace. But $150? Please.
Finally, Liebherr. It's clear they just don't care or they think that if they did sell just the ice tray + thermistor part that this would be admitting something wrong? Considering what they're involved in besides fridges it would seem that worrying about these products is the last thing on their minds. If people keep buying them they will keep making them, *even if the products are not reasonably serviceable*. That, or because of their price point they think wealthier people will just have them maintained and not worry about the cost?
Who knows. Either way, if you buy one of these don't expect the greatest service, nor any help from Liebherr itself. I would expect that the service companies just don't sell enough of them to be experts and their access to inexpensive parts is the same, although I really wonder what wholesale prices are. In case Liebherr ever reads this: I would never buy your products again, but for now we're stuck with it.

This is the first time we have ever written a review about a product as we are normally tolerant. Our experience with the Liebherr refrigerator has, however, been so appalling that we felt we had to write about it to warn others off. The problems we have had relate to endless issues with the ice maker, the doors not closing properly, the doors not staying open properly, the handle coming loose very early on and, more recently, the endless quantities of ice that are forming on the back wall of the fridge itself (see enclosed photo). Three months ago we were told that a seal would solve this problem and that it would take 4 to 8 weeks to deliver but we are still waiting. What is nice about the fridge is its look but to quote a well known cliche, "Don't judge a book by its cover". Finally, the issues we had began just five months after buying the fridge.

This Liebherr CS1660 refrigerator was so beautiful, I loved it and it was perfect for my kitchen remodel. I love the counter depth and tall height. Unfortunately that was the only good thing about the refrigerator was the look. We have had 5 major repairs in the 4 years we have owned it. The repairs involved major malfunctions involving the ice maker (water leaking all over my wood floor), the defroster broke, some other major motor broke, the door handle fell off and the freezer motor broke (sorry I don't know the technical terms for each part). The plastic shelves on the door just fall out randomly and so are now so broken. They are now destroyed.
I am so disappointed with the fridge. Thank goodness I purchased the extended warranty - the last repair was over $400. I no longer use the ice maker as the repair person said it will definitely break again as it is the same cheap plastic part being replaced. I loved this refrigerator so much and am so disappointed at the terrible quality and the number of major problems I have had. I still can't believe I paid over $4000 for this refrigerator and had a breakdown within the first 6 months. I don't normally write negative reviews but I sure do wish I had read the reviews of this refrigerator before purchasing.

We bought a Liebherr refrigerator for a house we were building in Nicaragua. With our 20' ceilings I loved the height. The thin plastic drawers broke immediately. Then the rest started failing. The cover of the manual had one warranty period. In small print inside they had a much shorter period. I waited to repair it as I thought I had years. Wrong. We just replaced the 3 years old refrigerator with one that cost less than the last three years of repairs. Of course we will have to spend some on cabinetry because the new refrigerator is shorter. In the 20 years of our SubZero we spent less than 2 years of the Liebherr. We waited so long for repairs that we bought a second refrigerator to substitute. The Liebherr was purchased in Nicaragua, at a top kitchen dealer.

Don't make the mistake of buying a Liebherr Refrigerator from Alpine Appliance in Vail, CO. Alpine service and understanding of these refrigerators is embarrassingly poor. First and foremost, in the context of Liebherr quality, I can safely and confidently say that Liebherr cannot be talked about in the same sentence as Sub-Zero. I now I understand why Liebherr is significantly less expensive, because it should be! I must respectfully ask how can you comment on the quality of Liebherr when you yourself and your service staff did not know that this model was not self-closing; additionally your service person told me that fridge always rocks until you fill it up, yet the other day he found out for the first time there was something he had not learned or done that would have prevented the fridge from rocking. What I found funny is that your service guys replaced a part to eliminate the rock, which obviously was both unnecessary and unexplainable.
At a minimum, isn't your job to teach your service guys how to properly install a refrigerator you sell and "so call" service. Your email response albeit appreciated was condescending at best but very consistent with the quality of your service, so not surprising. Your one service guy was blown away when he called Liebherr tech support only to learn that this model is not self-closing! His exact words were there are $500 refrigerators that have this most basic feature. On a positive note, the refrigerator does keep food cold and fresh which a guess is a positive.

Hope that my review will prevent someone from making a bad mistake. We bought our apartment in NYC with the 30" built-in refrigerator/freezer. Nothing but problems from day one. A fortune of money to try and fix broken seals on the doors, faulty compressors, back panel freezing and lack of draining. Customer service is horrendous. They actually told me to take a toothpick and clean out the draining hole every so often, however, it didn't work. The company is completely aware of all the problems with their products and are totally refusing to deal with consumer complaints. These refrigerators are not cheap and I am shocked that they are getting away with it. Someone mentioned a lawsuit, I think would be a good idea.

I shamefully admit I bought 2 Liebherr fridges in 2009 and 2010. One SBS 7053 and one SBSes 7353 within one year of the other for two separate custom fitted kitchens. Both have had door handles fall off, door seals go rotten, leaking, clogged up drain bucket at the back (how am I supposed to reach that???) ice makers both broken and now both have broken down on the BioFresh/wine fridge sides affecting the freezer. If what I am reading all over the internet is true Liebherr has been selling and ignoring customers all over the world whose refrigerators have all had the same problems. How can they get away with it? It isn't as if this was a bargain fridge that you bought for $500 and can now throw out. Can anyone say class action?

This is the most expensive fridge I have ever bought. In the six years we have owned it the following has occurred: Ice maker broke twice; Shelves on the door broke and we had to get a new door to fix the problem; Water drain clogged four times. We also didn't know one had to clear this out at regular intervals. And the most irritating thing is the back of the fridge has a layer of ice on it and anything that comes in contact with back of fridge get freeze burn and is ruined. The service person who comes out to fix the machine for me tells me in a patronising way that it is normal for the fridge to ice over. I have never heard of such a thing. I notice that Liebherr never responds to the complaints about their product. DON'T EVER BUY A LIEBHERR FRIDGE. Terrible quality and awful customer service.

This is a beautiful machine, and I love the French doors and freezer drawers. However, the ice maker design is not only unrealistic. It is silly, seriously flawed and prone to disaster solely due to its design. The ice maker has a piece that drops down to make ice, but that piece is actually lower than the ice drawer, so if you happen to open the freezer drawer while the ice maker is in progress (no indication on the outside of the freezer or warning) the ice maker unit snaps off. This is not a simple matter of snapping it back on (which would be a far better design mechanism).
I have paid a handyman to replace this piece four times since my 2012 purchase, and it has just happened again. There is no warranty for this. Liebherr will not help or replace the unit and this is not just unthoughtful design. It is bad business sense. If not for this flaw, I would outfit my house with as many Liebherr appliances as they make. But their business etiquette and this unrequited design flaw has left me disgusted with the whole company. This was a very expensive machine. The service, design and follow up should reflect that.

The Liebherr Refrigerator water drain on the back of the fridge that is located in the non freezer section midway down the vertical fridge is not allowing the water to drain down. I have to extract the collected water by using a syringe to draw water I can every day. The fridge works fine but there are constant beepings, even when the door is closed. Today I took out the plastic trays and one had frost build up that I had to wash the frozen ice off with hot water. A service man came over a year ago and fixed the draining matter but it has returned. Any advice? Otherwise the fridge works well.

My son broke the plastic supports on the door shelf. I am online to see if I can order parts myself. I started reading the reviews. Wow, I had no idea people have so much problems. Mine is eight years old and I love it. Never had a problem. I yearly use a pipe cleaner to clean the drain hole, take off the vent cover, and vacuum the coils. I also have my fridge on a plug surge protector. I do so for all my rentals. I must have bought a gem.

Liebherr side by side fridge is worthless. The first one I had did not cool and the ice maker didn't work. It also developed and awful smell. After countless repairs and a many phone calls they finally replaced it (but not without a huge fuss). THe replacement had similar issues plus the handle broke off the door, the front of the freezer drawers broke off and the drainage line was always clogged and dripping into the freezer causing ice buildup that has to be chipped off or the door won't shut. I send the repair service photographs of the broken handle which after 4 weeks with no contact said they had to reorder because it came in bent. (A solid rod of stainless steel?? I doubt it). Then they said I should fix it myself because I was a difficult customer. NEVER deal with this brand.

I have a 24" Liebherr refrigerator for over a year. It has always smelled like strange mildew/plastic cheesiness that permeates your food and has never left the fridge. Mine is immaculately clean and I purchased a ozone air-cleaner for mine that somewhat helps, but the odor is always there and it's obvious the moment you open the door. Sadly, this was a very expensive appliance and it was my only option based on the size of 24". Also the ice maker is defective and broke only a few months after purchasing. I live 90 miles from the appliance store, so not an easy fix.

Model SBS 7053, freezer + wine compartment just worked 2 years. Apparently it's a bad fabrication, it has a small gas leak somewhere deep in the foam... IRREPARABLE!! Facts: 2 months after warranty time ended the compressor was running 24/24 7/7 with alarm sound and bad cold. Technical service wanted to sell expensive electronic card, but they knew it was not that of course!! I did complain. At the end Liebherr offered me a 35% discount on buying a new side by side!!!!! They don't admit it's a hidden defect!! 2 years only!!!! Can you believe that?? I bought it in 2007, 2009 broken... Use refrigerator only since then. 2015 have a gas (R600a) refill with an independent technician, did work again for 24 hours.
Advice Liebherr's people???? This is obviously a defective product with hidden defects. You have to give a working product, well made and in accordance with your reputation... As you don't agree to recognise it, I will continuously speak of my bad experience on social media.

Model cs-1301 single door refrigerator. A year or so after buying it new the freezer became erratic. It would defrost then freeze, alternately. The least expensive tech we could find was $750 to come and look at it then return with parts and install them. He said a new Liebherr would be less. Then plastic parts started failing... the vegetable drawer split open, the plastic clips holding the shelves broke so that now after 5 years 6 out of 8 will not hold the metal bars to keep items from falling out. So we set small items like mustard jars in there. I just ordered replacements from Liebherr for $40.00.

Do not buy one of these refrigerators (Liebherr CS1350). My experience has been a nightmare. We cannot find anyone to work on these and we have been without our ice maker for 6 months. Sears even came out and said they could not work on this company's equipment. I am talking about Sears, the appliance store of all times. Why have one if you cannot get fixed???

I absolutely would not waste your money buying a Liebherr unit. They are just poorly made and that is only the beginning of your problems. What didn't break? So far a handle, two drawers, a door, the ice maker three times, and one door seal. The unit itself is entirely unreliable and the customer support is no help. The prior service company would work with you to talk you through how to navigate the massive amount of reprogramming in order to make the unit work, and they would also send you parts and instructions so that you could navigate basic repairs. Liebherr recently switched to a company called, ATCO, which for a number of parts requires you to order only through an outside service company, whether you would prefer to or not, and requires an expensive service call. This becomes more problematic because my unit has an operating problem 1-2 times per year.

The 24" Liebherr has a condensation drain - it get miscellaneous bits of food (it's a fridge, right?) lodged in it. The tube then backs up and drains into the freezer causing icing up and melting. It needs a small syringe and tube that can enter and wrap around into the tubular channel to aspirate the blockage but no such device seem to exist. We did have a repairperson out to do this two years ago (and he had such a tool - apparently we were supposed to know that this channel requires regular maintenance (with what?!). Now we have the same problem again. For a predictable design flaw, Liebherr needs to take some ownership of the problem and maybe send us the maintenance device - something like a miniature turkey baster.

This refrigerator has destroyed more food than the plague. It has the hardest time closing and it turns off if the door censors indicate the door isn't closed. Several times, I have not been home for days and I get home and everything in the Liebherr refrigerator is rotten, lost, defrosted, warm, in shape to throw out. Resetting the temperature to get it to work is as easy as launching the space shuttle. One almost needs to be an electrical engineer to re-set the temperature settings. I tried to print out the manual from their site and I have 21 pages of gibberish. I still haven't been able to turn the freezer back on and I am not sure the refrigerator is working yet, as I type. If I wasn't a renter, I would get a new unit, but not a Liebherr. I have lost over $500 of food in the freezer. I guess I was stupid enough to fill it after losing everything before. If you buy one of their units, you are crazy.

Ice accumulating at bottom of 7353 freezer unit. Electra the local distributor refuses to assist and/or provide advice what to do before calling a technician which costs around 65$ before parts. The rep says: "We do not provide any support on the phone. If you have a question you must schedule a technician and pay for it." Terrible attitude and support. Plastic drawers easily fall out and break and plastic handle parts that break. Will never buy one again.
