This company needs to be put out of business. They don't update or call the customer. My central AC has been out since August 16, 2026. They say the compressor went out and we have been sitting here in 107 degree weather for almost 3 weeks now in Texas to be told our compressor went out. Now they went to replace the whole entire system at $ 8000 dollars when I can get a brand new system for the same price withe a 10 year warranty and it's a 4 ton, not a 3.5 ton that they want to replace. Same thing happened with my stove. There crazy and we've been hang up on lied to and just blown off several times. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR SERVICE FEE AND SCREW YOU OVER. BUYER BEWARE. THEY'RE A SCAM.

I've always had a home warranty on my properties, and I've been with Liberty Home Guard since 2023. I've filed a couple of claims with them and my most recent claim, as of two months ago, was for a water line that was leaking. I submitted it online but it’s not intuitive to use in general. It's not very good when you have something that you don't know. It's almost like they're requiring you to diagnose the problem yourself. In my specific case, I saw water leaking from the air conditioning vent in the basement, so I put it in as an air conditioning claim. It turned out to be a plumbing issue. Liberty charged me twice for exactly the same contractor to come out, even though when he was there the first time, he identified the real issue. Liberty had me file two different claims, so I wasn’t happy about that. But the contractor himself was perfectly okay.
I also filed an air conditioning-related claim a couple of years ago and Liberty’s communication outward toward their customers is not great. You're not getting updates, they're not reaching out to you, and when you call them, you get somebody generic on the phone who's doing nothing but enforcing the policies they're being told to enforce. When the air conditioning went down, it was about 90 degrees outside, and they took a week and a half to get a contractor out there. After the fact, they told me I could always get my own contractor out and they would just pay for it afterward. I haven't had an issue with Liberty covering the actual repair costs. But to get to that point, they're not great. Overall, my experience has been annoying but okay.

Apparently, there are no agents that are actually helpful. They give incorrect information. I was told that reimbursements were not an option, but according to their website, it is. Trying to get a supervisor is also a joke. I had a claim that was put in, was told they could not find a vendor so they escalated to their "vendor team", I ended up finding someone, then was told reimbursement wasn't an option, but the vendor would be assigned in 1 to 2 hours. It wasn't. Apparently, there are never any supervisors available either. I ended up paying out of pocket for the service and just want to get my money back on the claim itself, and reimbursement for the service I had to pay out of pocket for.

I purchased my house, and because it was an older home, I wanted to get a home warranty. I did some research, and Liberty Home Guard showed up high in customer satisfaction, which was why I signed up. I've been with them since June 2024 and I've had around 10 claims. Submitting a claim is quite easy, either through their website or their app. You just pick an issue, pay the copay, and submit it. Dealing with the contractors is okay, and most of the time, they're good. My most recent claim was a very small thing. One of the pipes was blocked, and the repair people unblocked it. It was positive. But about five out of my 10 claims have been for the same issue. They only cover two months and if it recurs after more than two months, Liberty considers it a new claim. Liberty does well in the small stuff, but anything major that happens is a horror show dealing with them.
Two of the 10 claims were related to my AC systems not working, and that turned into a disaster. They said the ACs had to be replaced, but they only covered $1,400 out of the $10,000 it cost. They don't tell you that because they have a lot of legalese in terms of how they assess what parts they will cover versus what they won't. After I paid the $10,000 out of pocket, the contractor they sent made an improper installation that caused damage to my house. Their second contractor came and said that the first contractor installed the AC the wrong way, which caused the damage.
Liberty even gave me in writing that it was a faulty installation their own contractor did, but they didn't stand behind their own determination. They did nothing to repair the damage that their own contractor did. Any company I go to would take care of the small stuff. People asking about Liberty should go in with their eyes and ears open in terms of what to expect and not give a lot of credence to the marketing materials about peace of mind.

I did my research and the positive reviews for Liberty Home Guard made me switch to them. I have them for five years now and whenever I have a claim, I submit it online. It's easy and they keep me updated with texts and emails. And if I need to talk to somebody, they're easy to contact as well. Recently, I had an electrical claim and the techs they sent out were able to fix it without any issues. Last year, they replaced my dryer.
So far, the technicians I've had were knowledgeable, professional, and timely. If they can't fix the issue, they let me know. If it's a situation that they don't cover—which I have not experienced yet, they will let me know what the problem is and fix it for me. I also haven't had any problem with the quality of their work. All in all, Liberty is a good company and I haven't had to wait long periods of time for their response when I had to contact them. They have a good price, too. I just referred a friend to them and I was telling them about my excellent experience.

I looked at several companies, and Liberty seemed to have a better package deal for rental houses and things than the others did. I went with them, and my experience with them has been positive. They’ve been very responsive. The techs have been very knowledgeable as well. I would recommend Liberty to others.

I’ve been with Liberty for a year now. They recently worked on my AC. They were not very supportive. That was why I just got it done, and then they reimbursed a little. It was a big mess. I'm thinking of canceling. But now the prorated amount that I've already prepaid would be almost next to nothing. So, I'd rather just keep them and see what they can do. But I'm not very happy with them. Now, they’re trying to fix the garage door spring, and I haven't heard back from them. It's been a couple of days. And they keep saying, "We are reviewing it, and the diagnosis was done.” It takes way too long compared to my previous insurance company.

I’ve been with Liberty for three years now. I made three claims in three years, and I’ve had no issues. Recently, we put in a claim, and they scheduled a day. We called the vendor; he came out the same day and took care of it. The tech was top-notch. Liberty seems like a good value to me.

Kevin was so kind and helpful. He did a wonderful job of assisting me with signing up for my new home warranty policy. He did an excellent job of letting me know every savings opportunity available to me and explained how policies with Liberty Home Guard work. I am now saving $800 just in this year's premiums and my current rate and service call fee are locked in for the next 6 years. With my old company my rates would have continued to go up every year, so for the next 6 years my savings will increase. I'm so happy I called.

I’ve had Liberty for five years now. Submitting a claim with them has been fairly simple. You can submit it online on their portal. My most recent claim was well taken care of. My experience with the tech was good. They got done what needed to be done. So usually, when you create a claim, there's a $70 fee that you have to pay, and then they schedule a time. The plumber or whoever needs to come and fix things reaches out, schedules a time, and then comes over to see what the problem is. If it can be fixed right away, they do it. Otherwise, sometimes they might just say, “We need approval to get something done." They're usually good with that kind of stuff. The quality of work performed has been generally good as well.

I bought a five year warranty with LHG and paid over $3000. I had nothing but the worst experience after I submitted a claim for my fridge. They are nothing but a scam and denied my claim even though the tech who came in told me that the compressor had gone bad which is a covered item. They tried to force me with 3 stupid options that would have still cost me over $2000 to replace my fridge. Very bad customer experience. Don’t go with them if you want a good experience.

I liked that Liberty had a five-year plan so I don't have to worry about it every year. I’ve been with them for over two years and when I submit a claim, I go online. It’s very simple. You go in, click "Submit a claim," tell them what you're submitting the claim for. Then, they'll send you an email saying that they got it and that they're looking for somebody to come and do the repair. When they get the repair person lined up, they send us the information and those people call and they come out and do their thing.
The techs are always very professional. They come and the first thing they do is look at the job and see what they have to do. If they have what they need, they will repair it. If they don't, they will make a follow-up appointment. I had my AC repaired and the quality of work from the techs was great. They came in, did what they had to do, and everything was taken care of. Liberty Home Guard provides the gold standard. I like the way they do it and the price is reasonable.

I've got a clothes washer that has an intermittent problem. I put the claim in with Liberty, and they sent somebody out. They got here in a couple of days, and the technician reviewed the issue and said there was an electronic component that was going bad and needed to be replaced, and that he had to get with Liberty to get approval to either replace it or they might want to just give me a settlement to buy a new washer. That's been over a week, and I haven't heard anything from them.
I've had a couple of claims in the past. I had one with the belt on the garage door broken, and it took them a long time to get it replaced. I kept threatening to just drop the insurance right then because it was taking so long. I said I could have ordered the part from Amazon and replaced it myself. They sent a technician who was coming from Salisbury, North Carolina. So it's over a couple of hours away. And I don't know if he was trying to plan the repair for when he was in this area or what, but it just took too long, and I really cussed about that.
The guy was deaf, and he had a person working with him. But the person who was working with him was doing all the communication, and I just thought it was taking too long and all that good stuff. But the guy was nice. He did good work, ended up doing a little bit more work to lubricate the door and all that good stuff. But other than taking too long, they completed the work. It was okay.
Liberty asks for a lot of info that sometimes you don't have. Wanting serial numbers of the device. Like for the washer, I didn't know where the serial number was, but I found it. But before you could submit the claim, you had to have that info.
I've had a good experience with the people, but I would expect that they would be dealing with more professional people. I had another issue with a garage door. The spring broke. And this subcontractor that came was a young guy. He said he did this type of work for about a year or so. He went in business for himself. So it's not like he’s getting really experienced people. He got the work done, but I just wasn't confident that he knew what he was doing. But he got it done, and the door is still working fine.
Price-wise, they were pretty competitive with everybody that's out there on the market. I'm a little disappointed because I went with them on a long-term contract and I thought I would have better service. And I don't know if they're any different from anybody else I've ever had. It's just aggravating that you have to get a technician to come out, he has to look and tell you that it's broken, but then he has to get their approval to fix whatever it is, and that slows the process down.

Mike was very helpful in explaining the terms of the service plan, and in tacking on some incentives to purchase over the phone, especially the inclusion of the limited roof leak coverage after I asked about it and the bonus months that incentivized me to spring for the five-year rate lock, as well as setting up a nice interest-free plan to spread that cost over several months. Liberty Home has resolved three issues that I have had. The process has been very simple. I just call them, and I tell them what is up with my situation. And then they send somebody. Then that person looks into it. Then they go back and forth. Then they come in and do the repair. That's what is expected of them. My most recent claim was for my dryer. The guy who came out was good. He identified a little part, and he was right. He went and brought it. He came back and fixed it. Having Liberty is good. I’ve had it for three years now, and I will continue to have it.

I am new to having a house, so I needed someone to cover the appliances. I heard of multiple companies and I chose to go with Liberty Home Guard. I've been protected with them for over two years and so far, their associates have been really friendly. They've been professional and they have tried to provide most of the service that I've needed. I usually call over the phone when I have a claim and it's been rather easy for me to do. Then before the tech comes out, I usually have the name of the company and what time they'll be showing up. Majority of the contractors have been great and very professional. All in all, Liberty is a pretty decent home appliance protection company that I've been able to call when I need some assistance.

I would not recommend Liberty Home Guard based on my experience. It has been the worst home warranty company I have ever dealt with. I purchased a home warranty expecting peace of mind, but when my AC started having an issue, the service I received was the exact opposite. Liberty dispatched a technician who left my AC system completely inoperable after misdiagnosing the problem. The technician admitted he was not qualified to service my unit. Liberty then delayed my claim for weeks, leaving my family without air conditioning for nearly a month during Florida summer temperatures approaching 100°F. I called every day multiple times and they would just make excuses up.
Liberty eventually sent another technician, who told me this was his first service call for Liberty, and he was already not impressed with them. Liberty does not have any direct technicians, they just hire any local contractors. Instead of sending someone who could resolve the issue, Liberty ultimately instructed me to hire my own HVAC company to repair the system. They even offered to provide me with their original contractor's insurance information, seemingly expecting me to pursue a claim against the technician they had dispatched, even though my contract was with Liberty Home Guard—not their contractor.
As a result, I paid significant out-of-pocket costs to restore my AC and make my house somewhat livable for my family over weeks with no central AC. My 3-year-old AC unit that never had an issue, ended up getting significant work done, significant number of major components replaced, Air handler coil, electronic expansion valve, compressor and other parts. The unit was disassembled so many times and put back together; now the unit is like a 15-year-old.
I have spent nearly a year trying to reach a fair settlement and reimbursement for all of my expenses and have not been able to come to a resolution with Liberty. Additionally, I recommend Liberty to my family prior, and they did the same thing to them. Read the Complaints on BBB, they are real. Based on my experience, I would avoid Liberty Home Guard.

I've had Sears Homeowners Warranty, which used to be the best. I've had American Home Shield. The other one was Colonial. Then I had something else. By far, hands down, Liberty Home Guard is the best. I've used them a couple of times. It's what Sears used to be like, where you can speak to a human. All the right stuff is there. I called them. The plan I paid for was to get somebody out here in 24 hours. There has been two occasions, and both times, they got somebody out here in 24 hours, and they got it straightened out right away. They got the part and was on it and had it fixed within three days. The only thing that held them up was waiting for the part. All I paid was the co-pay, and it was convenient, easy communication. They make sure you have all the information of the service provider. They keep you updated. Easy to make a claim. And the most important thing is they follow up. I've been referring my friends to them.

DO NOT TRUST THIS SALESPERSON. My experience with this salesperson was absolutely unacceptable. I was given promises and assurances that were a major factor in my decision to purchase Liberty Home Guard. Once they had my money, those promises became a completely different story. In my experience, this wasn’t simply a misunderstanding or poor communication. I felt I was told what I needed to hear to close the sale, only to discover later that what I was promised did not match what actually happened when I needed the company to stand behind the agreement. That’s what makes this experience so infuriating. A salesperson’s job is to tell the truth about the product they’re selling—not say whatever it takes to get someone’s credit card number.
If you’re considering buying from this salesperson, get EVERYTHING in writing. Do not rely on verbal promises. Do not assume that what you’re being told during the sales pitch will actually be honored later. I trusted what I was told, and I regret it. I will continue sharing my experience and warning other consumers because I don’t want anyone else handing over their hard-earned money based on promises that, in my experience, were not honored. A sale isn’t worth sacrificing your integrity over.
Update:I am giving Liberty Home Guard 1 star only because there is no option for zero stars.
After multiple service calls, repeated frustrations, promises that were never followed through on, and what I believe were misleading statements during the sales process, I ultimately canceled my service.
Liberty Home Guard did issue a refund, but even that came with more frustration. They deducted my deductible, charged me a service/diagnostic fee for a pool inspection that they ultimately did not cover, and then charged me a cancellation fee—despite the fact that the problems leading to this entire situation were not caused by me.
The worst part wasn’t even the money. It was the constant runaround. Multiple service calls. Repeated explanations. Promises that someone would call me back that never happened. Having to repeatedly chase the company just to get answers. And the sales promises I was given when I signed up did not match my experience once I actually needed the service.
In my experience, Liberty Home Guard made getting the policy sound great when they wanted my business. Once they had my money, getting them to actually deliver on those promises was an entirely different experience.
I am glad I finally received a portion of my money back, but after everything I went through, I would never purchase another warranty from this company and cannot recommend them to anyone.
My advice: read every word of the contract, get every sales promise in writing, and don’t assume that what you’re promised on the phone will be what happens when you actually need service.
This experience cost me money, time, and an enormous amount of unnecessary frustration. One star—and only because zero stars isn’t an option.

My experience with Liberty Home Guard demonstrates why consumers should document every claim interaction. I paid Liberty monthly and filed one ductwork claim. I paid the required $125 claim fee and cooperated with the process. The claim then involved multiple technician no-shows, lengthy delays, and ultimately a disputed diagnosis alleging that ductwork had been removed or tampered with. I requested supporting documentation and specifically asked about technician photographs. During my call with Liberty’s Resolutions Department, I was told there were no technician photographs visible in the claim file supporting the alleged condition.
After the overall experience, I decided to cancel rather than continue the warranty. Liberty communicated in writing that an approved $100 claim-related payment would be refunded if I proceeded with cancellation. I proceeded with cancellation. Liberty then confirmed cancellation effective August 4, 2026, a $0 balance, and no future payments.
After cancellation, I was told that I would need to complete a repair, pay for it, and submit a paid invoice in order to receive the same $100. I consider that particularly frustrating because the paid-invoice condition was not how the payment was represented when I made the decision to cancel. My requested resolution is straightforward: issue the $100 directly as previously represented and close the matter. I would update my review if Liberty resolves this outstanding issue.

On July 23 reported a/c not working. They sent a tech out Monday, July 27, who fixed the unit. On Thursday, July 30, the unit stopped working about midday. I notified the tech who fixed it, and he advised to call LHG. As of today, August 6, no one has contacted us to come out and fix it. I have sent repeated emails -all unanswered, sent messages via the website - all unanswered. I’ve called four times over the past two days only to be told they are waiting for the tech to call them and schedule the call back. Meantime it is 85 degrees in my house and 90 degrees outside. This is Florida. Tomorrow we go back to a hotel!

As soon as we moved in, we had a dryer break, and we were not really happy with Liberty Home Guard. The response that they gave was a little unhelpful because we were forced to buy a new dryer, and they would only give us $300. So, we were not really happy with that. I'm an engineer and I watched the guy that they sent out try to diagnose our issue without doing basic debugging steps. So, I was unsatisfied with his conclusion because I don't feel like he did a good job diagnosing the error. He just suggested the first thing. I'm sure he's got a lot of experience doing that. But having later opened up the dryer myself to see what the issue was, his conclusion was incorrect.
Liberty offered us $300 because the part that this technician recommended that we needed to replace was out of stock on the manufacturer's website. Liberty said, "Well, because it's out of stock, all we have to do is give you the money that is equivalent to that part," which doesn't help anyone. Even if we could get the part, we'd be left with the part and like nothing else. If we have to buy a new dryer, that still doesn't help us because the $300 doesn't do much towards that. Furthermore, if we were to buy that part, it's the same part that goes in a lot of different dryers, it's the same control board. And a tech should probably have known that. So, they said, "Oh, well, that part is out of stock on the manufacturer's website," but it's not out of stock on other websites, and no one bothered to check that.
Their customer service team was kind, but still unhelpful. When trying to get to speak to a manager, it's very unhelpful sitting on phone trees and them saying that they've got no pathway to get you to them, and that they'll call you back. Eventually, they call you back. But everyone says the exact same thing, and no one's really able to help.
Don't trust reviews you read online that are positive about Liberty Home Guard. Go with another company. We found that it was ranked pretty highly on some reviews we read, and that was the reason we picked it. We liked the coverages they said they offered. There's one caveat in their contract, which says that in the condition that they're unable to repair it, they can give an economic sum, but it's up to their discretion how much they'll actually give. That is very heavily weighted in their favor. So, if that's the case, you kind of might be out of luck.

Mike was very helpful and courteous! I was nervous about leaving AHS as I have only used them as my Home Warranty. Mike helped ease my nerves and I am thrilled to now be a customer with Liberty. Liberty offered a much lower rate than the home warranty company I’d had for 18 years, so I made the switch. Hunter made it really quick and easy to sign up for coverage. The policy documents were instantly emailed to me. A+!

Hunter quoted me a great price. When I had an objection, Hunter clarified how Liberty Home Guard is competitive and better than other home warranty companies. Hunter also kindly offered me a lock in price which I greatly appreciated. What a competent staff member you have. Hunter is highly recommended. Hunter could have just rolled over and allowed me to keep shopping but he knows the value your company brings and he sold me on it. That is good sales skills.
