    When Liberty Home Guard's reps are trying to get me to renew, sometimes they're pretty aggressive and I didn't like some of those guys. But overall, they've been good. Initially, I signed up with them because after I did a Google search, they had better ratings than other companies. I usually submit my claims online, but in the last several years, I usually have my property managers do it. The warranty service is good for if you're actually living at the home. But I wouldn't recommend it for rental properties.

    I submitted a claim with Liberty for a dishwasher. The first time, the person didn't repair it correctly. The rubber gasket around it was torn off. Then the second time he came out, he put one in there, but when you pulled the tray out, it would hit it and could pull it off. He said, “Just pull the tray to the side when you pull it out." I was like, "Really?" 'Cause these were all new appliances. Then, the last time, when the people moved out, the whole trim came off. So, they came out again. So far, it's still working. Their customer service was great.

    On the internet, Liberty Home Guard was highly reviewed and it was at a good price. We also liked the amount you pay up front. We signed up and we've been with them for a little over a year. Our experience has been a little mixed. We weren't aware about all the fine print in the contract about having limits per year on different types of service. Then recently, we had a hot water heater repair, and they only covered the price of the part, which was not an expensive part. So, that was sort of rip-off. It's not like it's not there in the fine print. We just didn't realize it. We have a minor electrical problem now. I feel like I have to go in there and review the fine print before I even call them up. If they're just gonna cover the part thing, we will cancel our policy.

    The last time we had a contractor, he called because he had car problems. We waited, and he still had car problems. So, then we had to go back to Liberty Home Guard and get somebody else. So, that wasn’t great either. Liberty has generally been able to send people out who get the jobs done. We had a bad plumbing issue, and the guys that came had to go and buy a longer snake to unclog it. That was good. So, we have had good experiences as well.

    I had American Home Shield previously. Although I've now come to realize that their service is superior, their customer service was never very good. They were consistently rude whenever you called them. But in the end, you got what you needed out of the warranty plan. Then, we went with Liberty Home Guard, and they said that all their rates were comparable, if not better. Come to find out, that's not true. We had some minor issues with Liberty Home Guard. So, we're not going to be renewing.

    When the water heater stopped working, I filed a claim online on the Liberty website. I'm pretty web-efficient, so it's not hard to maneuver. They told me the name and number of who was going to be contacting me. The repairman had to clean some sort of pan. Once he got here, he took care of it just fine. But when he initially contacted me, he talked down to women. But as soon as he showed up and realized who I was, he, all of a sudden, couldn't do enough and was suddenly very nice and friendly. He did what he needed to do and I appreciate that.

    However, there have been a few times when I've had somebody come out that I didn't feel safe with them or they said they would come at this time then they called and said they were running late. But that's not Liberty's fault. That's more the vendor's fault that they have set up and I think that's going to be any company. I've had other warranty companies before and Liberty seems a little bit above the others when it comes to overall performance. They are helpful and the website is easy to use. Of all the home warranties, I would recommend Liberty.

    I filed a claim for my AC unit with Liberty Home Guard on April 14th, and as of April 30th, there has been no resolution. While they were quick to send out a technician and collect the $125 service fee, the process completely stalled afterward. I’ve called multiple times for updates, and on at least three separate occasions I was told to “please allow 1–2 business days,” yet nothing ever changes. It feels like I’m just being given the same scripted response over and over with no real progress being made.

    Based on my experience and similar to what many other reviews mention, they seem efficient at getting their fee but extremely slow when it comes to actually addressing the issue. I’m also concerned, given what others have said, that they may ultimately claim the unit is too old and offer only minimal coverage toward a fix or replacement.

    Another thing worth pointing out is that many of the positive reviews appear to focus on friendly or responsive customer service reps rather than the actual outcome of claims or what is truly covered. That doesn’t reflect the full experience when you’re dealing with a real issue that needs resolution. Additionally, despite being told that the customer success team would follow up, I have not been contacted at all. Based on my experience, there is little to no proactive communication once the initial service visit is completed. I pay a significant amount for this home warranty expecting peace of mind, but so far, I’ve received little to no value in return. This has been a frustrating and disappointing experience.

    Our water heater went out for some reason. I tried to restart it, but I could not restart it. A repairman came out, got it restarted, and we've had no issues since then. We have Liberty Home Guard for about 10 days over a year and this was the second time we've used them in the house. It was handled quickly, efficiently, and wonderfully. I have no complaints. But the first one was handled badly and it was a claim for a double oven that is 20+ years old.

    When I asked for service on it, they sent a guy out. He inspected it and he said we needed to replace some parts. Then, I heard back from Liberty Home Guard and they couldn't find the parts. They aren't made anymore, so we needed a replacement. But because it was a high-end oven and I didn't buy high-end oven coverage, they couldn't cover it. The thing is, when I purchased the package from Liberty, I was never told that there are high-end ovens and low-end ovens, and you need to pay for a high-end oven if you want service on that. To me, an oven is an oven. So, it was a very bad experience because I have a high-end dishwasher, a high-end stove, and a high-end oven. Nowhere was I ever told anything about needing high-end coverage. So, those three things are 20+ years old and they won't cover them, which is a bit frustrating.

    I will never recommend this company. They took too long to find a technician. I found one in my own. I paid $1700 for the repair. Send them a paid invoice. They sent me back only $500.00. I have called a couple of times to explain it to me why I didn't get the full amount. After waiting for a couple a weeks this guy call Ali, call me back and told me that's all they are going cover. After being with this company for more than I Year and never call for service, only one time. I felt that I was ripped off. They still owe me for $85.00 call that Ali told me that I will getting back. It's already more than three month and I have not heard from them. They are not very professional calling you back and let you know was going on. I hope they read this comment and send me the $85.00.

    The exhaust fan in the bathroom needed to be fixed. I called Liberty, and they provided me with a professional to come out and repair that. The guy came out and did a professional service. He looked at the situation and provided the best solution for it. He was quick about it as well. He went to go get the equipment or supplies he needed from the hardware store. Inside the system itself, he had to make a new frame. He did some expert work to resize that and hook that up to electricity to make that work, which was excellent. Within two hours max, he replaced the exhaust fan and I had my fan on the work since then.

    When filing a claim, the website is supposed to be user-friendly. It's easier way than calling in ‘cause when you call in, you have to wait a long time to get somebody. But providing information on the website to get the problem solved can be confusing. Other than that, you make the payment, understand the status of the claim and find out who is coming. While they have notifications that come through email, they also have a text. That's nice on notification.

    In today's world, you can't do everything. I don't have all those skill sets especially with electricity and plumbing. Having Liberty Home Guard saves me a lot of money. However, they could provide a more transparent understanding of the agreement of what's covered. There are exceptions on certain things. For instance, when you have an air conditioner, there's certain maintenance that you have to do on a yearly basis to make sure you're getting your coverage. It's also a long wait time for customer service and sometimes there is a miscommunication.

    I'm a widow who isn't very handy so I decided to purchase a home warranty. However, I do not recommend this company. The very first repair request was denied because there's a 10-year parts warranty on my ac and heating unit. I was told the repair bill would be $1650 and the technician would order the part from Carrier. They offered to pay $300 toward the bill. This was after waiting almost a month while the repair was "under review". No one bothered to communicate with me at any point during the review process. I called almost daily for two weeks and was just told it was under review. I feel ripped off because I was not told upfront that anything under a parts warranty wouldn't be covered. It's in the contract fine print, I discovered. So far, this company hasn't been very helpful or kind. I'm considering cancelling at this point since the customer service has been terrible and I now know the warranty doesn't really cover everything.

    Having Liberty Home Guard is a good value. They eventually get things done. I didn't have to fight for any service. It may just take longer than expected. I haven't had a big experience with claims in general, so it's a little muddled in my mind, like, “Where do I go? What do I do?” Their website is clear. But I had things that were unclear as to what was to happen next.

    I had to call because the online portion either didn't have a dropdown box for my particular question, or asked me a question that I didn't know the answer to. Who knows what models on a lot of things they have? I had to call and say, “This is what's happening.” The issue, although still needing repair, the person that I spoke with was not able to let me know that I could have flipped the switch on my thermostat to emergency heat, then it just goes to electric instead of the pump. I didn't know that. Instead, I kept using my fireplace and my electric blanket instead, while it was freezing.

    I have to take some responsibility for not knowing my own equipment and Liberty's website and how to go through things. Sometimes people who build the websites and those items never use them, so they don't have a first-hand experience as to how complicated it can be. But all in all, I wasn't unhappy. I felt that some of it was my own interpretation of some things. It took a bit longer than expected, but we all want everything right now. The contractor came, and several days later could come and check it out and repair it. The repair people were amazing, but they have to wait a bit for the part.

    Avoid this home warranty if you can. This is my first time filing a claim after being insured with them for a couple of years, and the experience has been extremely frustrating. My refrigerator broke down, and the technician initially diagnosed a faulty fan motor. After replacing the fan motor, the refrigerator still didn’t work. The technician then submitted a request for additional repairs, but the claim has since stalled. The company has not paid the technician for the initial repair, and as a result, the technician is refusing to return to complete the job.

    When I contacted customer service, the representative had no clear plan to resolve the issue. I asked to speak with a supervisor, but was only told to wait 48 hours for a callback. It has now been over a month since I opened the claim, and there are still no signs of progress or resolution. Overall, this has been a very disappointing and frustrating experience.

I have an older house, so having Liberty works out pretty well. 

    For my recent claim, I have a brand-new air conditioner I put in, and it was about my thermostat, which wasn't acting right, and it wasn't Bluetoothing like it should. The guy that Liberty hired for me, RJ Heating, came out, diagnosed it, and fixed it. It was all good. I'm happy, I'm gonna keep them.

    I Googled home warranties, and Liberty came up. I used to have American Home Shield, and I was paying double what I'm paying now. Their claim process was fast, faster than AHS. I have a home in Las Vegas, and the bathtub was plugged, and I'm not there, but they made it very easy for me. My nephew stays there, and he's 20. To get him to stick his feet in the ground is hard, but they worked around it, and they were able to come and fix it, and it was done within two days. When I had American Home Shield, they would come out, look at what was wrong, then have to report it, then get back to me in a week. Liberty doesn’t do that. They just come out and fix it.

    Absolute worst experience I have EVER had with a company in the last 20 years! Overcharged me almost $1200 for membership at first and it took me two weeks to get that straight and a refund. If you have this membership, you better monitor your credit card because they charge on it without any notification to you. You can never get a fluent English-speaking rep. They send the lowest of the lowest repair techs to your home. Borderline crooks is who they send. One tech they sent smelled so terrible of ** that I had to vent my home out and spray everything down to get the ** smell out of my home. Tech talked the entire time on his headset to a friend about friend things while he was “working” on my appliance.

    Techs never fixed my dryer and actually made it worse. Liberty agreed to replace my dryer but stated it was 13 years old and would only allow $187 towards a new one. So the “replacement” bs in their policy is BS! Told them they didn’t even make that dryer 13 years ago and that I had a receipt showing I bought it less than two years ago from Lowe’s. They asked for receipt and stated they would call back with a resolution.

    Three days later, they called back and stated they were sending a 3rd tech to repair my dryer, you know, the one they said needed replacing, but only because they thought they would only have to pay $187. Now all of sudden, they want to try to fix my dryer for a 3rd time. I was livid. I requested to cancel my policy and get a refund. Again, they tried to screw me on the refund. Eventually settled for an amount. I just wanted out. Now I’m trying to remove my credit card information from their site, and I can’t. They also say they can’t. Getting a new card issued as a result. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS! You have been forewarned!

    I'm not happy with Liberty at all. I'm asking for a refund of all the money I paid towards it. I'm waiting to hear back from them. I've been trying to do this for the past six weeks and have not gotten anywhere yet.

    When I submitted a claim, I saw a text message saying, “This is the name of the person coming out.” The contractor came out and looked at it, and either was able to repair it, or, as in our current case with our microwave convection oven, it couldn't be repaired. But they will not replace it with the same type of microwave. They want to give us a little, tiny microwave for the countertop, which will not work, or $300. I would have a big hole in my cabinet wall, where the microwave is.  I didn’t care if it was the same brand, but it had to be the same size, or it wouldn't work. I'm very disappointed with them. I asked to get a full refund of what I paid for it, but they, of course, are not going to do that.

    But when I had a claim for the ice maker, it was no problem. We've had Liberty for several years. And that's why we bought this home warranty, so that it would cover our appliances if they broke down and needed to be replaced. But, they told me, “If you look at your contract and the fine print, it does not say they have to replace it with a like appliance.” But I trusted their salesman. The salesman told me that they would replace it with a like product.

    Liberty Home Guard has always been pretty responsive for the most part. We did have one challenging process, but that was more related to the contractors than to Liberty Home Guard. Submitting a claim has been pretty easy. You just go on their website, write down the claim, pay $70 and then they assign a contractor. It's not a contractor that I would generally pick myself, but it's been fine.

    Sometimes the contractor is great and they reach right out and they're responsive. But sometimes I have to follow up several times. So, 85% of the contractors have been fine. We have two homes that are covered by Liberty. One is the home that I live in and that's always been pretty easy because I'm here. But it's been harder with the rental house because I have to coordinate with the tenants. Overall, Liberty Home Guard does the job that the purpose is for. It makes me feel better that I only pay $70 for a problem and they cover the rest, generally. If you are willing to pay the money for a home warranty, then compared to other companies I've used, Liberty is better.

    Their reps were not very pushy. They have accepted when we said no. When I submit a claim, it's been a very easy process, and there's a fixed fee anytime I put in a claim. It's also pretty fast. The last claim that I had, we had a plumbing issue. We had a hot water issue, and I submitted on a Saturday, and somebody was here on Sunday. It was a very quick turnaround. They're also straightforward, user-friendly, and quick to respond.

    We just extended the warranty another five years because it was quite cost-efficient. For us to extend previous and most recent, our per claim fee went from $125 to $75. In reality, $75 to call a contractor out is far cheaper than most. And so, that was a big driver. I think extending the warranty five years is maybe $3,000 or something like that. But we've used it a dozen times. So, it ends up paying off in terms of the overall cost savings because we don't generally have to then pay on top of that per-claim fee. Usually, what needs to be fixed is covered. I would recommend Liberty Home Guard.

    I went around and around with them for 3 months to repair my refrigerator, in the end they offered me a $300 reimbursement if I purchased my own. Had a contractor no-show on me 6 times. They refused to take any responsibility for the contractor, repair or replacement. When I filed a claim on my dishwasher, they purchased and had the unit installed (I had to contribute $250 towards the new unit), when it was defective and leaked the same day, they told me it was my responsibility since I accepted the delivery. I am out of pocket $2,700 for these two issues (on top of the $2,500 I paid for the warranty policy). If you have older appliances they will not cover them, they give you a penance and expect you to replace it yourself.

    I really do not recommend them any longer. I have been working with them for years but things have changed. They send unqualified technicians, and who left my garage door opened, you ask refund and they ask you 10 times if you want a refund!!! What kind of service is that. I think I am gonna go back to American home shield. I never had any issue with them. Just someone else recommended liberty home guard and I wanted to try now I can say stay away from them!! No apologize, no gesture, nothing!!!

    It's been a month since our dishwasher broke & I am still without a replacement. Liberty deemed my dishwasher too expensive to repair so they offered me $400 towards the replacement or they would give me a dishwasher costing between $400 - $500. My dishwasher cost around a $1000 plus installation & taxes. So then if I was to buy a dishwasher of comparative value I would take a loss of $800. Their advertisements say they will replace your appliance worry free however suddenly having to come up with $800 is hardly worry free.

    What is the point of having a home warranty if it is only going to pay 1/4 of the cost of replacement or replace your expensive appliance with a cheap piece of junk. I have made multiple offers to Liberty for a compromise. I even offered to help pay for one that was red tagged at a local store only to receive more stalls. Do yourself a favor & put your premium into a savings account instead of buying a warranty. Save yourself the headaches!

    Just awful. I had to pay an extra $100 or so to insure our second refrigerator which was about 5 years old that they refused to replace and they only offered $175 toward a new replacement. They said they would repair it but I would have to pay the difference of the cost against "their depreciated value" and I was just so angry at them that I just got rid of the fridge after I found out that if I canceled my policy with them that they would not give me ANY refund on the unused policy. They refused to refund me the $100 that I paid extra to cover the 2nd fridge. And then I had our primary fridge go on the fritz and it was about 11 years old and the same deal: they would fix it but I would have pay for repairs greater than $100. SCREW THESE IDIOTS. I am glad to be switching back.

    Did two claims with them. First was my heat pump. Coat to repair was $1200, but suddenly the company that diagnosed it as not available for repair and they said I should get my own tech. I did and they only reviewed $150. What?? Next, oven broke. They sent tech and they suggested replacement. Liberty Home Guard gave me $150 only to replace a $1000 oven. They are a joke. Other companies replace and fix every dollar. Worst I have dealt with and I have rentals. I have dealt with my.

    Will NEVER go through this company again! You get the easy-to-understand, English is first language speaking representative when you are about to pay them all this money for the warranty, but after that you only get to speak with "Dan" or "James" from India who you can hardly understand. We have now gone 2 months without a working kitchen refrigerator because most of the reps at this company don't know what they are doing. Called and they told me the technician was ordering the part, then they scheduled me an appointment a few days later for the install, then I called the technician who said that they don't normally order the parts and they don't have me on their schedule at all. This was after I waited around the house most of the day for an appointment that was not even scheduled.

    Liberty also ordered the wrong parts which delayed this even more. Will never recommend this company to anyone. If you don't enjoy being on hold and constantly asking the person to repeat themselves because they can't speak English well, then I would go with a different company who doesn't have their call centers in India or some other foreign company. If I could rate them with no stars I would!

    Liberty Home Guard was offering a prepayment option, and I was in a position where I could afford it financially for the next five years. Nobody else seemed to be offering that and I didn’t want the headaches and the monthly payments for the next five years. I bought three policies at the same time, and I’m about two years into the five-year term. I’m the landlord of three properties, which are rental properties, and part of the reason I purchased the policies is that I just want things handled. I wish there was a way to say that I’ll file the claim, pay the deductible and approve the work, but when it comes time to coordinating and scheduling, I need Liberty to call the tenant. There's no way to do that. I always have to wait for the company to call me and then tell them to contact the tenant. It would be helpful if there were a way to note that it’s a rental and dispatch it directly to the tenant for scheduling.

    When I submit a claim, I use the app on my phone and it’s great. Recently, the stove had a problem, and Liberty decided to replace the entire unit rather than repair it. Probably somebody internally is doing the calculation, which I don’t doubt. They’re thinking that if it needed another repair, it would be cheaper to just replace the whole unit now and hopefully avoid future repairs. Liberty also handled plumbing repairs for leaks and replaced a garage door opener at one of the properties.

    I really like that Liberty doesn’t mess around and just gets the job done. I file the claim, pay the deductible, and they send somebody out. When they can’t cover something, which has only happened once, they are very detailed in their explanation. They’re apologetic and tell you that your policy doesn’t cover that, and what they can do, and they work with you to find a solution. In this industry, a lot of companies look cheap on paper, but when it’s time to pay a claim, it’s a nightmare. Liberty has never been like that in my experience.

    Coverage has never been an issue with Liberty. If it’s within the policy, they pay and take care of it. The workers they send out seem good, and they've done a good job vetting those people as well. These properties are far away so I can't see the repair, but I've not heard a complaint after a repair was done. Even if Liberty is a little bit on the higher side, it's well worth the investment. If you’re trying to buy the lowest-price solution, Liberty may not be for you. But if you want a fair price for a great product that does what they say they’re going to do and communicates well, then just go with Liberty and don’t mess around. Liberty has exceeded my expectations in an industry that has a reputation for not paying claims or avoiding handling situations. They’re head and shoulders above everyone else.

    I had Liberty Home Guard for a short period and filed two separate claims. Both experiences were extremely disappointing. The first claim was for my HVAC system. Their technician told me the entire unit needed to be replaced and that my out-of-pocket cost would be $6,900. That immediately raised red flags. I decided to get a second opinion from an independent HVAC contractor. It turned out the unit did NOT need to be replaced — only a specific component had failed. The part was replaced for a fraction of what Liberty Home Guard claimed was necessary.

    The second claim was for my dryer. The control board needed replacement. Liberty said they would cover the part but required me to pay $250 for installation. Between that and the previous HVAC experience, I completely lost confidence in their service model. After two claims that felt inflated and unreasonable, I canceled my policy. In my experience, it appears they look for ways to minimize coverage or push costly solutions rather than practical repairs. I would strongly recommend getting independent second opinions before agreeing to any major repair decisions through them.

    I would recommend Liberty Home Guard as an alternative but would not highly recommend it for the family members. Liberty Home Guard offers services in multiple states and they have been doing great. It's something that each homeowner should have to have some peace of mind. They cover a lot of stuff that is not covered by the other company, and there are heavy discounts on the premium if you take a multi-year contract. The only thing is the deductible is high, which I pay $70. I wish Liberty Home Guard would lower the deductibles per claim.

    The process of submitting a claim is terrible. When you call somebody, you have to provide a lot of information, and it goes through a couple of people. Liberty Home Guard tried their best but they don't have enough providers. For example, it could be water breakdown which is urgent. You need somebody as soon as possible, but you couldn't find somebody nearby or some people would be busy. It would take two to three days minimum to do the repair, which defeats the purpose of having a warranty. Lastly, some of the contractors are good, while others are bad.

    Liberty Home Guard is more bureaucratic than their competitors. They are less generous in coverage of parts. I got into this five-year plan at a really good deal, pre-inflation. I'm not sure Liberty would renew that deal. But overall, we're happy to have them because we don't have to chase the service provider ourselves. So, we would continue with the plan for sure.

    They are more responsive than some competitors that they have. It's quicker to get to somebody, which is already a relief. But then they have inside teams, and you get passed on to one team and then another. It's not very transparent who you need to call. It would be nice if, once you register with them and you get the paperwork, there's also a cheat sheet and a phone number for each of the team and a brief description of the team. This will minimize all these transfers which are exhausting.

    There is a part where you get a text with an LH number, and then that LH number is like your claim. Sometimes they ask you that LH number and it's not convenient because you're talking to them, and then you have to get into your phone and find that number reference. It would be easier if they could identify the client with some of the means, like the phone number they're calling from, or just the address.

    The customer service at Liberty is always polite. They are very good with a certain script or set of issues. But as soon as you get into something a little more complex that doesn't really fit the script, they need to find their supervisor for a response. So they should train them better. They seem to be kind of filters as opposed to problem solvers. I don't want AI. I'm old school. For me to go on a website, I have to find my login and password, which is insane. I just call the number and it's easy. Mostly, it's much more straightforward. So, Liberty should keep the phone on with live people, who can interpret complex situations.

    1 star is generous….Only used once and will never use again. I paid more for the repair using them than if I’d hired someone to do it. They tell you according to the contract the entire repair isn’t covered and you have to pay more. Luckily I only got a 1 year contract…They will try to sell you a long term contract. I also am seeing now in reviews that they are being sued for exactly what I just experienced.

    Working with Alex to get me signed up with a service contract (at a very good price) was a surprisingly painless process. He's a nice guy who knows his product. I will see how things go when I need them for repairs/replacements, but I expect it to be as good as the company I'm leaving and at a monthly cost that is well under half the price I'm paying right now. I'll update this review if anything negative occurs, but I'm doubtful that will occur as this company has gotten excellent reviews over the last few years.
