In July of 2010, I bought an LG LFX25961, 25 cubic feet. After 3 years, the ice maker broke down and started to freeze. The plastic had completed expanded inside. I had to manually operate the arm until this broke down too. I was about to replace the ice maker, when the freezer stopped working. I Called an LG certified repairman who showed me that the back was completed corroded causing the freon to leak. The compressor was burning hot. I was told that I could try to add freon but without any guarantee of the fridge lasting. I would be better off just buying a new fridge. He told me that most of his repairs deal with Samsung and LG which apparently are the brands taking over the big stores. I decided to buy a Whirlpool since it seems to have the least amount of repairs among all the brands. It could have been the case of a lemon, but some of my friends have reported issues with LG fridges. I was not aware that fridges need to be considered as disposable appliances and won't last more than 3 or 4 years. It appears to be the case however. I just bought a basic fridge with no water or ice dispenser. I can live without them. I will stay away from any LG kitchen appliances in the meantime and will not recommend them.

LRFC22750ST - Bought new and 2 months later, the plastic tabs that hold French doors break so they have to replace both upper door assemblies because they don't sell the $2 part. Oops! The new doors don't match so now they have to order the bottom freezer door because they don't carry that style of door anymore. Sold fridge with house. Done? Nope! New house has same fridge, with broken tabs! Then the door switch fails and the lights stay on and cooks the food on the top shelf, slags the temp control unit and lens. Since you can't buy parts, I temporarily solved problem by replacing bulbs with LED ones (they don't generate much heat).

Everyone I've spoken to has similar issues as others here have listed. Bad business LG! Very short term thinking! You are creating an army of anti-LG activists.

Purchased $3,000+ LG counter depth Stainless refrigerator late November 2013. In less than six months we have lost the contents of the freezer twice. I asked the retailer that we purchased from, ABT, to replace this obviously defective unit. They say that failure must occur three times in a year before they will consider replacement. I will never buy another LG appliance again.

I purchased a top of the line three thousand dollar plus refrigerator in February 2014. The refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling. All of the lights work and all of the lights, indicator lights on the door panel work as well. I was away for the day and arrived home late in the evening so I did not go into or look at the refrigerator. The following morning, I noticed water dripping from the water and ice dispenser only to realize that everything in the refrigerator and the freezer defrosted and reach temperatures causing everything to spoil. I immediately contacted LG and they ran an over the phone diagnostic only to tell me that the unit was not operating properly. I could have told them that.

When I said that I live in Arizona in a rural area and need emergency assistance, they stated they could not get anyone out to be for the next 4 to 5 days. How am I supposed to live without a refrigerator? They also told me that they hold no responsibility for all of the ruined food. This unit is still under warranty but that does help my situation as their commitment to service in unacceptable. When I went to purchase this top of the line unit, I was told by some folks not to buy an LG refrigerator as two separate folks stated they own LG fridge and have had nothing but problems.

When I researched the reviews on this fridge, it received high marks. Taking that into consideration and the fact that the two folks who had problems with their units had them for over two years, I figured that LG made the necessary improvements to their refrigerator so I went ahead with the purchase. In summary: I will never again buy any LG product. I will never recommend an LG product and I will inform whom ever I know to stay away from LG no matter what the reviews state as I am not confident that they are authentic.

LGLRFC21760ST - Numerous calls to retailer and independent repairmen re: water spilling out from freezer and unto floor (It has ruined the hardwood floor in kitchen area) since purchase in 2005. Have paid lots in labor and parts over the years, they all do something different than the last guy..... and it keeps leaking. Called again and repairman said, "You should have called us earlier." Really???? How many times do I have to call - and pay - to get it fixed? Now read that many others have experienced the same problem, but I have never been advised that it was a common issue with this fridge. Guy today said he would "check to see if there were any bulletins" issued on this matter for LG. Are those bulletins available to the public?

Really, really frustrated after seven years with this problem. And now likely a very expensive bill. Plastic bins have also broken and will be replaced - "poor design" said the repairman - but that is the least of my problems.

On 7-20-2010, I purchased an LG french door refrigerator, model LFX28978ST from Best Buy for $2,168. On May 26, 2014, I reported the failure of the unit to LG. I had an LG authorized service technician diagnose the unit, and he determined that the compressor has definitely failed, and that very likely, the entire sealed system had failed as well. He, while still in my home contacted LG and conveyed the information, but they stated they would seek replacement only of the compressor to be certain. After two days, I called the service organization again to determine when the repair would be authorized and made. They noted that no authorization had been received from LG and that I would be responsible for the full cost. Thereafter, I contacted LG and requested a service authorization. It was noted that one would be provided. Approximately two days later, I re-contacted the service organization regarding the repair. They stated that LG would not allow them to seek the part from their normal parts distributor, and that it must come directly from the company. They additionally stated that they had ordered the part from the company.

When I requested the shipping and estimated delivery date, the service organization stated that LG never releases that information to the service organization. As a consequence, I re-contacted LG and requested the same information. The LG representative noted at that point that the part had been ordered, was in stock, yet had not been released for shipment. The representative added that they would seek to determine its release date and return my call. They did not. I contacted LG again to inquire of the part shipping date, and was told that since so much time had elapsed, I was being transferred to the defective returns area for resolution. Once within defective returns, I was provided a non-negotiable buy back of the unit at an LG depreciated price which amounted 67.6% of the purchase price, an amount which approximates to straight line depreciation for the period the unit was owned. Inquiring as to options, the defective returns area noted the only options were to take their offer, or wait for repair. I additionally inquired as to when the part would be shipped to effect the repair, and could not be given a time frame.

Even when feeling forced into an untenable offer, the LG defective returns representative was able to add injury to insult, stating it would be 2 to 3 weeks before I would receive the check representing the buy-back. The approach LG has taken in my instance has the appearance of purposefully failing to comply with the repair terms of their warranty in an effort to compel consumers to accept a non-negotiable defective product buy-back offer. In my instance, I conceded under the duress of needing to replace my refrigerator. I will, however never purchase another product manufactured by LG under any nameplate (Sears, please take note).

We contacted LG for service, only to realize that it would take two weeks to install a new compressor and worrying if that would hold. I purchased an LG three-door refrigerator, model # LFC23760SW, from Best Buy 7/6/08. The warranty covered the compressor, condenser, and evaporator for 7 years and labor for one year. It quit cooling. LG first told me there was no service person in my area so I used a local man unfamiliar with LG and he couldn't fix it. That cost $110. I called LG again and they gave me the name of an approved service person 25 miles away who deemed the unit had a Freon leak and he needed two parts, both under warranty.

The company was unable to provide the parts and after many, many phone calls with LG, LG said they would refund me $500 because the parts were no longer available. I told them their service person said he could install the new parts in two hours at $80 per hour and I had already paid $190 to service technicians. They said sorry, no parts and this is all they'll do. I have to send them the sticker from inside the fridge with the model number. So, I have $310 to shop for a new fridge. I'll never buy LG again. The warranty is good, only if they happen to still make the parts and you won't read that in the book.

About two months after purchase the water line froze, blew water out all over the back wall and onto the wooden floor lifting the wood. To make a long story short it took months of letters to both LG and Sears to get it all fixed. Then we had to pay for a new kitchen floor. It works fine but the ice maker chute gets jammed so I have to take out the ice bucket and turn the unit off. The paint finish on the handles is peeling off and looks shabby. Don't buy Sears or LG.

This fancy 3 door fridge refrigerators bought at Lowe's in New Orleans on June 6, 2013 has been a nightmare since I bought it. A week in my home and the ice maker stopped making ice. Repairman replaced the ice maker. Ice tends to stick together. Recent problem is the LOUD clicking noise when the ice maker is turned on off. Customer Service somewhere overseas said this noise is normal because of wear and tear. I explained to the man that using the thing 8 times in one year is NOT wear and tear. He said it is. I put the phone next to the ice maker for him to hear the clicking noise.

My son who bought the same fridge on the same date last year does not have this problem. Very kindly he said they are going to send the repair man but I have to pay for it. Unnecessary to tell you the long and stressful conversation with this man. Apparently I am wrong and LG is correct. I said to this man, after he said our conversation was being taped, that it was great news he was taping our conversation because I would on line and make sure the entire world LG knows about the lousy customer service, confirmed again by the guy at Home Depot when I went there on Monday to buy a new dishwasher. Obviously there are two brands of DW I don't buy: Bosch and LG.

This man overseas said he would send the repair man and I insisted, make sure I don't have to pay for it because I am still under warranty. If this man tells me I have before the work begins, I would let him go and contact you again. LG can spend millions on Dollars in TV commercials, they fail to realize and accept that the best advertisement is by -word of mouth-. I am extremely unhappy with this fridge. The left side is cooler than the right side. No veggies can go on the left side as it freezes them. My suggestion: move over to another manufacturer.

Bought an LG French door refrigerator in 2007. In 2010 the water hose in the back of the refrigerator cracked and water started leaking into the wall between the kitchen and garage. Never got water in the kitchen but in the garage. So we had that fixed. In December of 2013, the freezer wasn't keeping the temperature consistent cold. Called in an LG approved repair person. He couldn't figure out was was wrong since the compressor ran and occasionally cooled. Finally he took a wrench and hit the compressor and it started cooling. It ran for 4 months. He said oil got into the unit. At the beginning of this month, the compressor stopped working completely.

Called another repair service. A new compressor arrived, but it wasn't working. So they ordered another one. Today the repairman tried to install the new compressor and it didn't fit. The wrong model was sent. The compressor is on back order and may not ship for two weeks, which means that I will be without a refrigerator for 5 weeks by the time the compressor arrives and that's if it arrives when LG THINKS it will. It may be silly of me to think that a refrigerator will work for longer than 7 years. If you are thinking of buying an LG appliance, my advice is DON'T! The product is cr** and the "authorized" repair people have no idea what they are doing.

We quickly learned that the ice maker could not provide enough ice for just my wife and I. God forbid we got company. We constantly found ourselves having to purchase ice. About a year ago, we noticed that our refrigerator was rusting under the ice and water dispenser. I couldn't believe it!! I've had dozens of refrigerators over the years and I've never seen one rust like this. It's extremely unsightly and although the refrigerator works okay, we're replacing it because it looks so bad. I called LG customer service (what a joke!). Their stance is that they are NOT responsible for what they call "cosmetic damage" because it does not affect the performance of the refrigerator. I pointed out to them that my car which sits in my driveway is much older than my refrigerator and it has no rust at all but they simply don't care. I will purchase another refrigerator but I will NEVER again buy anything that has the name LG attached to it.

Worst refrigerator I have ever owned and worst company customer service I have ever experienced. Refrigerator and freezer ($2600, 2 years old, and $500 food loss) failed to cool in October 2013. Had a third party warranty so called them. They sent a tech who said it was the compressor and could not fix it due to the fact that it was covered under LG warranty. Finally got an LG tech to come out only to tell me the same thing and said they needed to order a new compressor that would not arrive for 6 to 8 weeks because it had to come from Korea! Got help to convince LG that they were obligated to have parts available within a reasonable time per trade agreements. Miraculously, they found the part within 2 weeks.

Tech came out and installed the new compressor, got the refrigerator running and left. Later, the compressor started getting very loud. I called and complained and was told it was normal. I'm here to tell you that it was NOT normal and sounded like a diesel truck idling in my kitchen! After several more phone calls to LG, and speaking with several agents and supervisor with varying degrees of rudeness, I decided to investigate and found that LG had installed the wrong compressor. It took me 2 months to resolve this with LG fighting me and telling me that I was most certainly wrong with my facts. At the vice president level, LG finally acknowledged that they had in fact supplied and installed the wrong compressor. Another compressor was ordered and a tech finally came out and installed it.

A couple months later the refrigerator stopped cooling again. I spoke with several LG personnel again to convince them that a tech needed to come out again. Finally about 2 weeks later a tech did come and verify once again that the compressor was bad. Long story short, another compressor was installed and failed again within a couple months. I then began requesting a replacement or refund. This process was a nightmare filled with rude and uncooperative LG personnel, along with 2 more tech visits that were apparently aimed at disproving my claims.

In the end, LG refunded my money, but did not reimburse any food loss. The entire process started October 2013, and ended in April 2014. I have never before experienced such pushy and rude customer service as I did with LG. I know that if I had not been as proactive and persistent as I was in seeking a resolve to this matter, I would have received nothing from LG! They are the worst company! I unfortunately own a couple more newer LG appliances, and hope every day that they continue to run. I will probably just throw them out if I have issues with them rather than deal with LG. I will never again buy another LG product.

I have had this LG FRENCH DOOR LFX31945ST refrigerator less than a year. It has been noisy since they delivered it but when I brought it up to the tech that had come back to replace the freezer door b/c of discoloration....he made it sound as though the compressors just make more noise in the new ones. So I thought, ok... I will give it some time... Well, as time went on, the noise got louder and louder. I can actually hear it buzzing and whining over my television in the Living Room (so many random noises off and on thru day, I couldn't possibly describe them all). So I call servicing dealer back and tell them still loud and seems to be constantly running. I also discovered while I was researching others complaints that there has been a problem with back wall icing up, so I looked and yes back wall completely iced over.

Tech said he hadn't heard of any of these being problems, but Then he heard noise and saw ice. So he ordered new back panel, defrost control and module. When parts came in, he replaced everything. Less than 8 days later, still whining and other noises and now developed a bad smell/very bad smell that when fridge was opened would take over entire kitchen and living room area. By the time tech comes, the smell is not detectable b/c it dissipates over time, only to come back randomly. He denotes no problem found b/c noises weren't as loud as they can be when he is here, even though I still think it's louder than it s/b.

At this point we are very frustrated to spend this kind of money and have so many problems is sickening. Problems continue and I call again, service comes out and back wall icing over again. Tech hears the loud noises (high pitch whine has become a constant, loud sounding fans and an occasional clunky sound) and the SMELL is back. Tech now has witnessed everything. He gets on phone w/ LG and he is told we must have introduced the smell. REALLY! I know we have not but we are advised to try charcoal like for a fish tank filter. I tell the tech that I'm concerned b/c warranty is up in June and how do I know if he reorders everything he's replaced once that it won't continue to be a problem later. It had to be an inherent problem and what is LG gonna do about it.

I feel they should extend warranty or give me replacement fridge. He did his best to tell LG that they need to do something more... Their solution is it's fixable so they reorder everything again (back panel, defrost control and module main). I call customer service to voice my concerns and ask about extending warranty, to ensure this problem actually gets fixed. I am read some script that is obviously told to every customer and the Supervisor I spoke with was not nice. He had a nasty disposition and offered me no resolutions. He just made me angrier.

So parts arrived and another tech comes to install the parts. It has been around 9 days and guess what? SMELL is back, noises are worse than they were before this last service call and ice is beginning to build up on the back wall again. So here we go again. I am going to call again, wait again to be notified morning of service call and given a 2-hr window of when they will be here (so I can't plan anything for that day b/c no specific time for service call). Another day wasted, more aggravation and I am fairly confident the problem won't be resolved. Instead I will be advised to purchase an additional warranty coverage since mine expires in June. I am not looking forward to complaining to customer service again b/c, well I've seen how they treat customers and their philosophy is the customer is always a nuisance and they won't help me at all. So here we go, I will place call and waste another day. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this product, no matter how much you love the lighting, the door in door feature and the versatility of the shelves inside... Trust me - not worth the headache. Oh and not real stainless steel.

This problem has persisted since April 9, and we have had 3 technicians come to try to fix the problem...all have failed. To make matters worst, the first technician scratched our wood floors pulling the refrigerator out so now there is damage to our floors. LG promised us that after the third attempt, they would replace the entire refrigerator unit for us. However, I spoke to them again today and they are trying to send out another technician... this will be the fourth attempt to fix it! The most recent technician that came out even called LG himself and recommended a brand new appliance as he felt this one could not be fixed!

I spoke to a manager today who was very rude and basically informed me that I needed to provide more receipts and information and that this would be a long drawn out process because we are now claiming damages for our floors. She did not even apologize for the fact that we have been without a working refrigerator since the beginning of April (today is May 15, 2014) and had a rude attitude!! Not to mention all of our food spoiled, and we have not been able to buy groceries during this time coupled with the fact that our hardwood floors are now substantially scratched/damaged, and LG has broken their promise of replacing the refrigerator as they are insisting to send out more technicians and order more parts...and to top if off rude, and unhelpful customer service/management. Even it works, it is not enough ice for a single person let alone a family. We are lucky enough that we purchased the extended warranty, but that doesn't help the fact that we are inconvenienced all the time with doing without ice for days on end calling repair, staying on hold, waiting for parts from FedEx, then waiting for repair men. Contacted LG... who does not care to say the least. I was told to deal with the puerile I bought warranty from because their year was up.

Now here in May of 2014, the ice maker and freezer aren't working. I have asked that the refrigerator be replaced because not only is the ice maker not working, but now the freezer, which is a clear indication that it is a faulty product. LG has refused to replace it stating they will only repair it. They have tried and were unable to fix the initial problem. The fair and responsible thing to do is replace this faulty product.

Not even 3 years ago we purchased a $2,400 refrigerator that was on sale. Well a month ago the fridge quit cooling and the warranty covered parts. Called and explained the problem and we were told to turn off the fridge for 24 hours and it might restart. I explained my food is going bad and do you tell all customers to turn their fairly new appliances off for a restart. The LG rep. giggled and said if I called out someone without trying a restart it would cost more money. After a month and three visits from a serviceman he tells me the fridge is bad. LG going on policy I guess with little concern about our family and us having no way of cooling our food offers to prorate our fridge giving us approximately $850. Kicker another two weeks for a check. The last of several supervisor tells me, "You can still go buy a fridge if you want, you just won't get your check till the 19th." Bottom line, no concern or compassion for a customer. I will never own LG again.

I purchased LG stainless double-door bottom freezer refrigerator model #lfy25980st in 2009. I purchased a two-year extended warranty on the item. From the first six months, the ice maker and water dispenser worker poorly. Servicemen were out several times attempting to repair it. Finally they replaced it. I woke up several times after that to water all over my kitchen floor where water was running from dispenser. Then in September of 2011, I came home from vacation to find all the food in the freezer thawed and milk spoiled in fridge. In December that same year, the food on top shelf of fridge was frozen. I was told that I had the vents blocked with too much food.

In 2012, the digital lock signal on the door panel would make sounds turning on and off the lock which turns off the water and ice dispenser. It made this noise all night. At this time, my warranty was up and I was using my home warranty plan at $55.00 per visit with a visit sometimes twice a month. I lost food at $400.00 a second time. The service men came out, changed the freezer sensor twice, replaced freezer door on unit and changed the motherboard in back of unit. It still didn't work properly. My home warranty company called LG, spoke to a gentleman named Alex who deemed it unrepairable on March 29th, 2014 with a wiring problem.

I was told to send in my proof of purchase and repair history and they would replace or discount another one. Today, 5/8/2014, they have done nothing. As a matter of fact, I was told that since I had a warranty company, they would do nothing. The company only covers $500.00 per year on any covered item and they had already spent that trying to repair it. I would think LG could make a unit that works, not just looks good. Not even two good years. No one should ever buy LG products; I know that is it for my family!!

It sounds like LG started using a higher efficiency compressor a few years back that hasn't held up well. Only this previous days when I notice that it stops performing what it intends to do. As I am an aircon technician myself, I immediately examine the unit and the only problem that I found is the PCB control needs to be replace. That's all. The last time that I service other LG ref, I can easily bought those parts and, voila, it's good as new. But now they change those policy. You can't buy the parts now. They keep on insisting that they will only do repairs, so I keep on wondering - how will they do some repairs for those minute parts of electronics in the PCB & keep the customer waiting for weeks? Are these the way they treat consumer after?

So now I'm considering to buy another ref. Perhaps as a consumer we've got to stick to the brand from the past for good after sales service even though the appliance is long overdue in service. I've been with the LG service when it's a GOLDSTAR brand name. It's their first brand name when they enter the market and they keep on saying that we need to satisfy & address the consumer needs & complaints for us to be known & admired by... so what now that this is one giant brand name???

Extremely disappointed in the product and the "customer service". We purchased this fridge in April/11 and it was delivered in June/11. In July/11, the Converta drawer stopped working and as the fridge was under store warranty. It was replaced with a second fridge same model, in Sept/11. Two weeks after delivery, the freezer drawer on this fridge malfunctioned causing it to open and immediately close without remaining open to remove food items. (Freezer drawer opens when a button is pushed).

This fridge was returned and in Oct/11, we received our third fridge of this model. Since Oct/11, this fridge is awaiting its fourth compressor, in 2.5 years. We have been without a fully functioning fridge for most of the lifespan of this fridge. Repair people are unfamiliar with the technology in this fridge, however according to the Sears technicians in conjunction with the LG technicians this fridge is repairable. My question is why does this this fridge always require a compressor annually? Fortunately we purchased an extended warranty on this appliance because I am told the replacement cost of the compressor is approximately $1000.00 plus applicable charges, tax, labor, etc. I regret this purchase immensely mostly because when the warranty expires in 1.5 years, this fridge will be in a landfill site somewhere, sadly.

In 2012 we purchased an LG French Door refrigerator - the most expensive fridge we've ever had - to update our kitchen appliances. In 2013, the freezer section malfunctioned, food defrosted. Since we had the extended warranty, the freezer problem was repaired, but we still had the loss of food. Several months later, we discovered the food in the refrigerator section was freezing. After trying to adjust the temp according to the manual, we called the warranty insurance & since we have the gadget that is supposed to diagnose the problem, allow parts to come with the service person, had this done. Of course he had to order parts. White refrigerator, a black gasket arrived. More parts ordered.

Weeks later, same problem. 2nd technician said 1st repair was not done properly, so more parts. More food loss each time. In March 2014, same problem with food freezing in fridge section. We have been waiting 3 weeks for proper parts (again, wrong color gasket seal sent - so another wait). Also yellow discolorations all over the white door, and neither LG nor the warranty insurance will cover this, as it's considered cosmetic. So our nearly $3000 refrigerator is the worst appliance we've ever owned. Have complained to LG, nothing resolved. Can you say LEMON? The issue is when the doors (left and right) come together to make a seal, the left door gasket pull away from the door and tears. This is the same issue over and over. Clearly this is a design flaw. I just recently (within 3 weeks) replaced the door gaskets and the door gasket on the left has already begin to pull away from the door. I know I can't be the only person having this issue and I was hoping the LG company has come up with a fix for this problem. June 2011, we decided to replace our kitchen appliances. Not because our 27 year old Kitchen Aids did not work, but that they looked very outdated. After very much research, we decided on the LG 4 door LMX 28994 refrigerator with the Converta drawer, the LDF 7932 Dishwasher, and the LMS 2073 Microwave Oven. We choose to purchase a GE Monogram dual fuel range rather than an LG at that same time. Our decisions were carefully researched, and the choices made not only based on those particular appliances' features, but also upon the then available reviews. 10 months later, we woke to find the food in our fridge warm and spoiled, and our dishwasher no longer working. April 2012, LG replaced our refrigerator, and when I asked if a new warranty would take effect, was advised by LG that they would only extend our existing fridge warranty by 3 months. I asked why? It was a brand new refrigerator... should it not have a one year warranty?

Our dishwasher motor was replaced by LG that same month. 3 months later, our microwave started to malfunction, just after it was out of warranty. We did not purchase an extended warranty for the Microwave, but did purchase extended warranties for the refrigerator and dishwasher. Currently we once again have a refrigerator that requires servicing. It's making so much noise that it wakes us in the middle of the night, and our cheeses are going soft, and milk is warm. The service tech can't seem to decide if it's the fan or the compressor. Our hope is that this issue is resolved before our extended warranty is up in June 2016, which by the way, is the only right thing we did when we chose to purchase LG appliances. We should have gone with all GE Monogram, since we have not had any trouble at all with our GE range.

Our dishwasher has the worst designed racks we've ever seen, and we are now having to pre-rinse our dishes before placing them in the dishwasher. Ahhh modern technology, got to love it. I wonder if Mr. Seong-Jin Jo, President and CEO for LG Appliance Company is aware of, or even cares about the multitude of dissatisfied customers LG appliance has. They may be trying too hard with their "Innovation", sending their products out in the market before they have proven their reliability. After spending almost $4,000.00 to purchase our fridge, $1,500 on our dishwasher, and almost $500.00 on our microwave, one would hope that they would last more than a year or two. Never again would we buy LG anything.

We purchased an LG fridge and stove from Home Depot on January 3, 2014. We were given a date for delivery of Jan 24, 2014. So my husband takes the day off work to await the delivery. At 9:30 am we received a call from Home Depot asking if we had received a call from LG with our delivery time? We answered, "no, we had not," and Home Depot staff said he would call LG to see when it was coming. Several hours later with no return call from anyone I called Home Depot (2:30 pm), only to be told that our products were out of stock and would now not be delivered until Feb 4, 2014. So upset over taking a day off and not even the smallest of respect for LG to call and inform us that our products were not coming, we wait until the next date.

For Feb 4th comes and again my husband takes the day off work to await the delivery (surely if it was not coming today LG would have called to inform us). By 11 am we heard nothing so I placed a call to LG myself. It was at this time I was given the run around. I asked her if it was customary for them to not call their clients to inform them that their delivery is not coming. She told me it was Home Depot's responsibility (I spoke with Home Depot and the told me it was their responsibility). I explained that I felt that was horrible customer service to not provide common courtesy. I let her know that it cost us money to stay at home for the 2 days and they couldn't pick up the phone. The customer services lady could not help me and when I asked to speak to a manager the manager would not take my call and instead gave me the number to call the delivery department. It was then I spoke with them and was told that it wasn't coming today either and had no idea when it was coming. Eventually we found out another delivery date of Feb 12. I wonder if I will ever get the items I paid for??

I loved our LG French Door refrigerator with the indoor ice maker. Some friends of ours even purchased the same model after seeing ours. Earlier this week, the ice maker stopped working. After trying the suggestions in the model, we called for a repair. Within minutes of looking at the ice maker, the technician informed us that we needed a new ice maker. The total cost for the repair--$390! This refrigerator is only a little over 3 years old. I am deeply disappointed with the quality of our LG refrigerator and will think twice before buying another LG appliance.

HH Gregg, where we bought it offered no help and said it would be 7 days before someone could even come look at it. All they could say is....you should have bought the extended warranty. HMM - obviously, there are problems. Never dreamed would have problems this quickly. I will never buy anything from them again - very poor service. I have read many reviews about bad outcomes with LG fridges - wish I had read prior to my purchase. Does anyone have any ideas on what could have 100% shut down the unit? The power outlets all good - we have checked them with other electrical items.

In July of 2013, we had our home burn down, losing everything. After being homeless for 2 months we finally got into a new home. We purchased our LG refrigerator model LFX31945ST in October. The first installers damaged our baseboards and couldn't figure out how to hook up the water line. Our freezer was constantly freezing over. In the first week of January 2014 our ice maker stopped producing ice. We put in a service call and had a repairman come to our home. He spent 15 minutes here in which he explained we needed a new motherboard and replaced it.

The next day or so we realized the freezer wasn't cooling anymore. Another call put in. Another repairman sent out. Another motherboard replaced. 6-8 hours and it should be right as rain he said. 10-12 hours later and nothing had happened. Another call put in. Another repairman sent out. He says we need a new refrigerator. From the first call to the third repairman was about 5 days.

Today (a full month without a refrigerator with two young children in the house) two delivery men show up with our new appliance. We were so happy... until we learn they are not the installers. The delivery boys and the installers are from 2 companies. The installers call, 20 minutes after they were supposed to be here, to let us know they couldn't come today because there was no worker in the area. They didn't even have the decency to call the delivery men! So off goes our new refrigerator supposedly to return on Monday. We will see.

It is so hard to keep clean and I can no longer keep my recipes or keepsakes or photos on it. Although the sides are not aluminum they are too closed in to use. As far as the workings go, it seems to be working fine. However it is only a few months old. I have only one complaint so far. It cost 50$ to replace the water filter every 6 mo. What's with that? I never had to replace it on my old one and had no problems. Of course it wasn't an LG. Then I read that you have to have a LG repair man only to repair it. Not very customer friendly. LG has left us waiting for a replacement compressor on order that will take "2 or 3 days" at which point the repair person would be sent out. I have always bought Miele and Bosch appliances but because we had space limitations the LG was perfect, looked good and had all the features we needed. The fridge I replaced was 12 years old and we never had a problem with it. LG has been less than helpful and really left us stranded with no fridge. I have no confidence in their product and customer service has been disappointing. They are not solution focused, have no intention of replacing the fridge and state they will cover only $250 in perishables in a lifetime. That problem was fixed and I have not had any further issues with the freezer. However, the plastic shelves are pretty much all broken as well as the plastic drawers. I called the company on two occasions to complain about this and once again I felt that the phone staff were very rude. I told them that all the shelves were broken so they sent me one shelf. lmx28988st Refrigerator w/ French Door and two drawer freezer. Two significant issues with major functions!

    1. Loss use of Freezer! Freezer drawer design is low quality and not durable. Details: Plastic cogs on the drawer track are frail and shear teeth easy. The stack up of the cogs on the rails have excessive tolerance. This combination causes the drawer to easily 'hop' off track and excessive ice build up on door seal and door will not shut. Corrective action: Align better quality cogs with the rails to prevent future door alignment issues. Home band aid: Unplug, defrost freezer, take door off to assist in realignment.

    2. Loss use of Ice Bin! Ice bin feed components poor assembly quality. Details: The claw components that feed and crush ice have a set screw that will come loose due to low torque and ineffective thread lock substance. This causes the assembly to simply fall apart and render the ice bin useless until repair. Corrective action: Identify the optimal torque and thread lock substance to prevent screw from backing out. Another option would be to capture the assembly so that the screw can not back out from the crusher assembly. Home band aid: If you are able to find all parts, youtube has a few videos that can help with reassembly. Clean the threads of the screw and apply Blue Loctite to prevent from falling out again.

A week ago, we found water on the floor. Thinking it was an ice cube, mopped it up. A few hours later, more water. Mopped it up. Husband opened the freezer and it was all melted, totally, even though the fridge part was still "cool". It has been hot here in Florida, so with a lot of use, that would be expected. Brought out our 4 coolers and put into them what we could. The "frozen", or semi-frozen, which was not much, went into the garage freezer. Called Sears, where we bought it 6 years ago (this was a Friday). They said no one could be there until Monday. So over the weekend, we cleaned the unit to look brand new.

The service man comes Monday, and says it is the capacitor and thermistor that broke. We asked several times if it was not the compressor, causing these two parts to go. He said, no, that they go on their own... All he wanted to do was get out of the house. He took the broken parts with him, though he was supposed to leave them here. The new parts arrived, here, on Wednesday, two days later. We called Sears, and on Thursday, a different repairman was sent. He found that the parts that were sent were the wrong parts, but would work. However, he said it WAS the compressor that caused the failure. So, now a compressor is on order (one year left on warranty for this part), and hopefully, it will arrive tomorrow, being Friday, as no one works on weekends (don't tell me there are no jobs out there... people just don't want to work!).

So, here we go on week two with living out of coolers, throwing out food, and being genuinely very upset. Now, we notice the labor charge we had been charged on the first call, and today, this man wants more money. I got really annoyed (my husband was not in the room) and said I was not giving out one more dime until this was fixed and running. The repairman spoke with his supervisor, and I guess got the okay, as I did not have to pay. Then, my husband comes out and calls Sears and talks to billing, complaining about the very high service charges. After much waiting on hold and a return phone call to get the right credit card, we were given a $60 credit!

Our thought was that we could actually go out and buy a cheap refrigerator for the $300+ in costs it was gong to take to fix this refrigerator. I don't think I will buy another LG refrigerator again if this one dies, again. In reading about the fires people have had in them, I ordered, from Amazon, two (one for the refrigerator, one for the freezer), thermometers with a long wire, so I can monitor the inside temps of each. This would also work in case of another failure, so we, hopefully, do not lose so much food the next time.

The door seals have been replaced 5 times now in the almost 4 years we've owned it. The problem is the door gasket/cam/holder design. Without a redesign of these parts, they will never be able to actually fix the problem. All they can do is replace the parts again. Now I'm at an impasse; Looking at the refrigerator reviews and problems, I don't think there are any "Good" refrigerators made anymore. Our original GM Frigidaire lasted 27 years with approximately 5 replaced defrost timers in that time before the compressor gave up. How did things go from lasting 20 years to lasting hopefully 5 with the new appliances? Even the appliances made in the US don't seem to last anymore. I'm very frustrated and angry with the situation. We're currently looking at going with a Sub-Zero refrigerator.

We took the thawed food out of the freezer and found it thawed all the way to the bottom. We then noticed the refrigerator not as cool as it was supposed to be, and what it said on the door (40 degrees). We dragged out coolers to put in the refrigerated foods and put the "frozen" foods into our garage freezer. Meanwhile, the refrigerator continues to run, but it is quite warm. I purchased a $3000 LG fridge in April 2013 (less than 8 months ago). About a month ago, it started making a loud noise. I contacted Home Depot (where fridge was purchased) and they scheduled a tech to come look at it. He 'fixed' it by defrosting a fan and setting the temp on my fridge higher. He warned to not have the fridge set too cold or the fan would keep freezing. Great, warm food. Less than a week later it broke down completely.

We are now more than two weeks without a fridge. I have called every single day to try to get a tech out here and LG not only refuses to send someone out but cancels the techs scheduled by Home Depot. They have no time frame as to when they will allow someone to come out or when the fridge will be repaired. My five month old son has digestive issues and is on a special formula that has to be refrigerated. When I called LG to schedule repairs Bonnie from public relations told me I could ask my neighbor to store my son’s formula for me. Because I paid $3000 to use my neighbor’s fridge not to use my own fridge.

The level of heartlessness LG and all their 'customer service reps' show is beyond shameful and frankly I'm shocked they're still in business. Life is not good when I've been storing my son’s formula in an ice chest for two weeks, feeding my other kids fast food every meal because we can't store any cold or frozen food at home, and LG has the attitude of 'we already have your money so now you can go F yourself'.

I will never ever buy an LG product again. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. No response yet from LG. Let me pretend to be surprised. At this point the fridge now stinks, is completely useless, and LG has no plans to repair or replace my fridge. It's under warranty and I had purchased the extra protection plan. It's completely unacceptable to allow a family to go without any fridge at all for two weeks and counting. It's unacceptable to know a special needs child could go hungry without his formula and NOT even send a tech out to look at it. Looks like I spent $3000 on a useless piece of crap.

We purchased this product from a big box store around 2007. The ice maker failed after 4 years and flooded our kitchen. I was disappointed in LG's response, and elected to not replace the icemaker due to out of pocket cost and fear of future failure. I figured I'd keep the refrigerator anyway, since it was relatively expensive.

This past weekend, I went into the kitchen in the morning and smelled burning plastic. I opened the fridge only to find that the temperature control and lights had melted to the point of dropping from the ceiling of the fridge. It was hot inside the fridge to the point where the butter had melted and dripped out of the compartment and down the door. There were visible scorch/melting marks on the light compartment. I think if I had not been home this weekend, it would likely have caught fire. I think this fridge is a fire hazard, and caution anyone with this unit.

Being a consumer who doesn't want to waste money, I wanted to rig the machine so that it's not a total waste. I screwed the control panel back into the ceiling, and replaced the bulbs with low wattage (and low temperature) LED lights. It seems to be okay for now. I will be replacing this fridge in the near future, and will not buy another LG product.

Several years ago my wife purchased an LG French door refrigerator. Almost immediately we began to hear weird noises from the freezer so we called in a service call. We were told it was ice forming in the back wall of the freezer and it was interfering with the fan blades. The tech told us the only cure was to unplug the refrigerator and let the ice melt. We did this and over the next several years were required to do it a number of times more. The tech told us it was a design flaw and LG would void the warranty if we called it in too often, that is if LG even responded.

The ice drawer has no back to it and ice continually falls behind it and onto the bottom of the freezer under the freezer drawer. So that whenever you open the drawer, ice is pulled out onto the floor. Just tonight, my son noticed that there was a burning smell in the fridge and that several food containers were warm. Turns out the lights in the refrigerator are not turning off when the door is closed, so I had to unscrew the bulbs to prevent a fire or food spoilage.

At this point I don't even think I will call LG as their service and warranty performance is either awful or nonexistent. Needless to say I will never buy another LG product and will vociferously deter anyone I know from purchasing one. As an aside, I received an LG Blu-ray player as a gift a while back and the first time it was hooked up, it didn't work either. It had to be returned for an exchange and while the second one worked it too has regular problems and has to be unplugged to be rebooted in order to function. I guess LG stands for "Lousy Goods" or "Lotsa Grief".

We bought the LG LFX25978ST French door refrigerator on 5-1-2013 from HH Gregg. Was working okay until Oct 5, 2013 (5 months) when it suddenly stopped making ice & freezer contents were mushy, soft. Called LG. They told me to reset the ice maker & it should be fine. Reset twice, still no ice. Called LG on Oct 6th again. They told me to get a new filter or bypass plug (which should have been left with me when they delivered) which I did on Oct 7th. Put the bypass plug in... still no ice & freezer not freezing. Called LG back. They said they would schedule a service tech to repair. After several calls from the repair people about the date of purchase, serial #, model # finally they said they would have to order a new ice maker & when the parts came in they would schedule the repair.

Finally came out on Oct 17th!! 12 days with no ice & very little freezer. Had to buy ice & use ice trays in my garage freezer. When the repairman came out on Oct 17th, he had a new motherboard & a new ice maker.... Took him 2 hours to replace the ice maker in the door... Had to take it back out several times because the ice container was too tight. He said it would take 8 hours to make ice, to call him in the morning if it did not. Well... still no ice & worst now... no freezer. Lost about $80.00 of food... ice cream melted completely & all over the bottom. Called the repair service next day Oct 18th, told them no freezer, no ice. They told me they would send the tech out again but could not until Oct 21st.

Also called LG about my defective refrigerator. They said it wasn't defective & they would not replace it until it was deemed unrepairable. Very unsympathetic & rude! They told me I must allow them to repair. Repairman came back out Oct 21st & was on the phone to LG Tech. Put thermometers in freezer & refrigerator was finally diagnosed as a bad compressor!! This refrigerator is only 5 months old!!! I had a Frigidaire before that was 16 yrs old & I never had a bad compressor. Called LG again & asked what they were going to do about my refrigerator. They told me that it was not unrepairable. That I had to allow them to replace the compressor or they would do nothing!!!!

So after talking to HH Gregg a couple of times, with no help from them either, HH Gregg said I would have to allow them to do the repairs. You would think that HH Gregg would stand behind their products also. I had bought all 4 new appliances from HH Gregg but only the refrigerator was an LG. So as it stands now, I have a different service provider that LG sent an email to, not listing the replacements parts (I had to give them that info so they could order the compressor). They are scheduled to come out Nov 6th with the new compressor. But Saturday Nov 2nd, my refrigerator is not cooling!!! I bought a ref thermometer & the temp in the refrigerator is 55 degrees!!! I have no other refrigerator!!!

I paid $2300 for this LG refrigerator on 5-1-2013. I have no refrigerator, no freezer & no ice. LG does not care!!! I am still trying to get either LG or HH Gregg to replace this defective refrigerator & I guarantee I will never purchase another LG product. You would think that there should be some help when a product you purchase does not meet even minimal standards.

My very nice LG (big freezer on the bottom) has a computer that lasted 5 1/2 years and I've been told that that's pretty good for an LG. The service people (two different companies) hate to work on this brand because of the difficulties in understanding the pamphlets/instruction on how to fix them. The two companies I called for help each asked me some pertinent information about my problem and after answering them, both told me the same thing.... The motherboard has died, just like that. I had really liked the fridge until it simply stopped working, even though over the years it made some strange noises and I had trouble with the automatic ice maker. I love the size of the freezer and the fact that it's on the bottom. But none of that helps when the thing decides to quit.

My problem is that this one replaced (in Feb 2009) a Coldspot that we purchased in 1977!!!! Really! Yes, we had to put in a new compressor in 1991, but what service that thing gave over the years!! To find a silver lining, I guess I have to look at it from the viewpoint that the cost of the LG ($1200) came to spending a little more than $200 a year for its service, which is small enough. Next time I buy a fridge, I'll stick to the old standby names!!

I purchased an LG Refrigerator LFX25961AL back in August of 2010. The refrigerator just stopped working on October 26th, 2013. The light remained on inside of the refrigerator and it failed to cool the food inside. I also noticed that the refrigerator was running much louder than usual. The ice inside of the ice maker began to melt and later that evening, the refrigerator had completely stopped working. All the items that I had inside the refrigerator and freezer have spoiled. I called the company concerning the warranty that I purchased along with the refrigerator and they told me that they could come out on Tuesday with no guarantee of the repairs being covered under the warranty. I have a refrigerator full of spoiled food and I am quite upset. I've only had the product for three years. When you pay thousands of dollars for a product is this acceptable? I understand that things happen but this product should be fine for at least five years. I find this unacceptable. I began to search the internet for answers and I see that many of the customers who bought this product are having the same problem. I wish I could return this faulty product. I will never purchase anything from LG again. Buyers Beware.

The refrigerator stopped working. The motor ran constantly to the point the back lower panel where it is located became overheated. Lost everything there was in the refrigerator and freezer. Have gone without one for over a week. Contacted LG who said they couldn't get someone out to look at it for about 2 weeks. LG said that the limited warranty for certain parts that was for 7 years after we received the unit would not be honored since we did not have a receipt. We never received a receipt since the Home Depot gave us a store credit. We had other things updated prior to getting the credit.

The Home Depot put in new Silestone countertops. It took 3 times for them to come back and put the counter on properly. Silestone felt bad for us and told us to get any of their countertops, so we picked out a different color that happened to be their most expensive. Silestone also told us we could have any edging we wanted, no matter what the cost, so we updated our edging to one of the most expensive. Silestone had no problem with any of this. Then we had Home Depot replace on of our bathroom floors. The installer put the floor in just fine, but also broke our toilet and told us sorry and left. We had to go and buy a new toilet ourselves and install it. Home Depot finally paid for the replacement and labor of the new toilet. I called Home Depot's corporate office who gave us a store credit of $1500. We used that money to buy the LG French Door refrigerator.

Needless to say 4 years later it broke down. I called Home Depot for them to send us a copy of the store credit that was used for the refrigerator. They were not able to find it in the system since I did not know the exact date of purchase. No receipt or paperwork were given to us. Now the contractor for LG will not honor the 7-year limited warranty and we will have to pay for parts and labor to fix the unit. Prior to getting this LG unit, we had a side-by-side GE Profile fridge. It was about 8 years old when it started to give us minor problems, but it still worked. We got the LG fridge since we had this credit and wanted a French Door Fridge without the water and ice like the GE one had. We never expected this LG unit to have such serious problems at only 4 years old. Very disappointed with this issue. If the service call costs too much, this Fridge will be going and we will go with another manufacturer. LG will never be a company we do service with again. Home Depot will also never have our business again with all the problems we have had with the major updates to our house we purchased from them.

I wish I had read all the reports about the LG refrigerator, particularly the French door model with icemaker housed in the refrigerator door. We purchased this supposedly state of the art refrigerator in March, but recently attached the water supply hose for the water/ice dispenser. The water dispenser worked fine, but the icemaker did not. A call went out to the service department and a technician came to "fix" the problem yesterday. Well, he replaced the motherboard and a fan at the back of the freezer. A brand new refrigerator needs to have these items replaced already???

Long story short, this morning, we woke up to a mess in the refrigerator/freezer because everything had melted. Neither the refrigerator nor freezer is working. Of course, service is closed on the weekends. So now, I have a $3000 storage box sitting in my kitchen with a houseful of guests arriving in a few days. My concern is after reading about all these problems reported on this website, we will be faced with continuous problems in the future (especially after the product goes off warranty!!!). LG... Life Good?? In my opinion, I think not if you own one of their refrigerators. Sorry to say. I am hopeful that this problem will be resolved, but after reading post after post about these same issues, I am not holding my breath. :(

The regulator is not working properly; thus, food goes bad every two days. Makes a lot of sound when the water is running through the pipe to the ice maker. Steel doors are not made of good steel. It already has small dents. When we open door and if even touches something mildly, leaves a dent. Tried calling the LG official site; there is no response. Very frustrated with the product/company. I go on and with all the problems I have had with this fridge from one month after I got it and all the food that I have lost and LG won't do nothing about it. Especially now that it is off of warranty. It first started with the ice maker and then the fans that keep going out in the freezer and you would have to turn the numbers and it would end up freezing the food on top and then it get so warm you end up throwing all of your food out. Just like the other day, I had to throw over half of my food and food is not cheap. I have had repairman and repairman after repairman out and it maybe fixed for a couple of weeks or a month and it would be back at it again. I have tried to get LG to replace it or give my money back and they couldn't care less.

I have asked them about the lemon policy they mention in the paper and they couldn't care less. Just like would tell me there is no such thing and I would tell them I have it here in black and white and now that my extended warranty is out, Home Depot won't have anything to do with you. They just want to go away. I can't afford to buy another one but do they care? Heck, no. They think you'll just go out and replace it. I paid close to $2,000 for it and they don't. Now the top half is keeping things so warm I can't trust putting food in it because in a couple of days, it would be sour and would just have to throw it out. Now don't expect them or anyone to help you. Now, my ice maker is at it again and my electric bill is really showing it because I have to turn it up.

All I am asking them to do is replace it and not with the same model and you think they would even bother consider that, no!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the consequences is that you don't get a replacement or get any money back and lime. I said I could go on for days of all the problems but what good would it do? So guess who does without a fridge, not them, me. Someone needs to do something with them not even wanting to replace it and when you are willing to even downgrade yourself. I have all the same complaints if not more as everyone else but you only can place so much on this. And no one cares anyways and NO HELP ANYWAY, but I thought I at least could write this and try and WARN OTHER PEOPLE, DON'T EXPECT ANY HELP.

The repairman basically said that the fan had slipped down the shaft and could not work. He repaired it at that time, which lasted until Sept. of 2012. At that point, it happened again, and the motor on the fan burned up, and had to be replaced. We took his advice and purchased an extended warranty through LG.

The third time the fan malfunctioned was in July of 2013. It sounded like a weed eater was inside my freezer. LG premium care set up a service call for Aug. 22, but the repairman cancelled because he had no record of my extended warranty, and we refused to pay his $150 service call fee up front. I contacted LG again, and they set up another appointment on Aug. 30. The repairman replaced the fan motor again, which didn't fix anything.

The next service call was set up for Sept. 10. This time we had two servicemen show up. Upon opening up the fan unit, we were informed that the previous repairman had forgotten to reset the unit. We have gone a month and a half without a refrigerator, and have lost food constantly. I don't feel that I should have to keep buying $150 extended warranties each year to repair their defective unit again and again. Please advise me of my rights and options on this matter.

Since our purchase we have experienced a number of issues (1st the model's efficiency rating is only valid when the ice maker is turned off; 2nd the freezer compartment developed rust on the metal baskets after the first year; but most recently the white plastic water line attached to the appliance developed a pinhole leak which resulted in destroyed ceiling tiles in our basement recreation room). An LG qualified repairman was called immediately but his service resulted in further leaks causing additional damage to our basement ceiling just 3 days after the initial fix.

So next a qualified plumber was called. The problem was solved, but that solution lasted only 2 months when the fix to the original problem appeared again resulting in further damage to the basement. We feel the quality and reliability of this appliance is seriously in question and would like LG to supply us with a replacement refrigerator from another manufacturer of our choosing at a cost equal to the price of our original LG plus money spent to repair damages to our basement resulting from their inferior product.

At this point, I would not accept a replacement LG refrigerator. Lastly, it saddens us to abandon this LG product line as we have experienced very good success with other LG products. Currently we own both an LG washing machine and an LG clothes dryer. We certainly hope they do not follow the same path as this particular appliance.

We decided not to melt the ice since we had a warranty. The repairman came, took the back off and fiddled around, said it was good and left. The fridge, still four hours later won't go below 40. We called the repairman. He said it is ok to put some food in. So we did, really fast. Now it is 50 degrees. Clearly we will be going back to coolers and five bags of ice a day again.

We are so fed up. PLEASE don't buy LG. Not only does it not work well, but it dents if you look at it, and the little humidity control on the veggie bins snapped off the first three days. LG arranged to have an "authorized" repairman to come out. The appointment was confirmed with the ApplianceMan in Westerville, Ohio for Thursday, August 29th between 1-5p. NEVER SHOWED!!!! When I contacted them Fri. am, was told they "lost" my appt. After they arrived Friday afternoon, was told I needed new compressor and evaporator and parts ordered. 1-2 weeks before they come in and then need to schedule another appt to fix.... According to the other reviews, this seems to be the trend with LG. I will never purchase another LG appliance

We purchased our LG side by side refrigerator in September 2007. We have experienced problems with the ice maker which finally had to be replaced. Problems with the compressor and the controls on the front panel will freeze up and the only way to reset them is to pull the refrigerator out and unplug it. Sometimes this works sometimes it doesn't. It has always been loud but now it is unbearably loud. Visitors ask us "What is making so much noise in your house?" and we make sure they know it is our lousy LG refrigerator. Bottom line - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON LG.

Last August, I purchased an LG 31 cubic foot side by side refrigerator. A couple of months ago, it started making a loud noise and did not seem to be keeping food as cold. I called LG and they promptly dispatched a repairman. He was wonderful... spent 5 hours in my house and told me he didn't think that it was fixed and would be back in a couple of weeks and to call if there was an issue. A few days later, it started making a different noise and everything in the freezer melted. He came back, looked at some things and said he thought it should be replaced and would start the process with LG and we unplugged it due to the noise.

A few days later, LG told him to to come back and try something again. He did, and it started cooling again. So I restocked. Within a couple of days, it stopped cooling again. Repairman came out again, to run some more tests. So, here I am 5 weeks after the initial repairman visit, 4+ weeks after my refrigerator stopped working all together, and several calls to LG directly getting nothing but the runaround. FINALLY, someone called me back, told me they would be sending a replacement 7-10 business days after they send me a form to fill out and I send the form back. AND, they have the nerve to tell me that I am responsible for disposing of the old refrigerator. SERIOUSLY???? What a joke. This must be the worst customer service experience EVER.

I have heard several complaints about LG but because it was the only size that fit in our kitchen space, I thought I would take a chance. Darn sorry now.

Purchased a side-by-side refrigerator for $1499 from Home Depot in February 2013 and began using it in April, when our house was finished being built. On August 9, 2013, the refrigerator stopped cooling. We called LG and were told that we had to call back 24 hours later to confirm that the problem still existed. We called back after 24 hours to make a repair appointment, but the only places that would service LG in our area were backed up a week each, not because there were few repair places, but because very few places are willing to work on LG.

When the repairman came out a week later, he verified that the compressor needed replacement but suggested contacting Home Depot to try get a new refrigerator through them before ordering the part, because once the part is ordered, there would be no chance of having HD help us. A very nice woman at Home Depot then spent the entire day on the phone with LG trying to get a replacement, to no avail. When I called LG back again to order the compressor for repair, I was told that I had to make another diagnostic appt, since the original repairman didn't order the part.

I am told it will be 2 more weeks until the refrigerator is fixed. It has been 2 weeks since it has broken. That's 4 weeks without a fridge. I have called 9 times to LG, 7 times to repair places, spoke to 2 managers at LG executive services (one manager, operator "Sherry" ID# ** told me that the failure of the compressor is not LG's fault!). In all, this is the worst appliance I have owned and the customer service team is useless. Save yourself the trouble and stress, do not buy an LG appliance.

LG LFX31925SW Refrigerator - We purchased the 31 Cu FT French Door LG refrigerator a year and a half ago. It is a wonderful refrigerator as far as capacity and how it functions on the inside. Not the most streamlined looking from the outside. And it hums all the time, not sure what part is doing that enough to wake me up at night. I recently pulled out the gliding drawer and to my dismay, the back wall of the refrigerator is cracked. Who would have thought the inside wall of the refrigerator would be compromised and cracked. Calling LG service center was a waste of time. Not only did they only quote the one year parts and labor (not sure on what) and the 7 yrs sealed system (whatever that covers?) and 10 years on the compressor (seems to hum every night). They read a script and have no other answers, always seems to be someone you cannot understand what they are saying and they can hardly speak English.

When I mentioned I believed it was delivered in that condition, they said NO it was empty when delivered to imply I lied. Well no, the delivery folks set it up. I had to do nothing. So the repair company tells me to tape it, there is no way to repair it and no warranty. Really, no warranty on the structure of the unit. I call it cheap and won't buy another LG product ever. I feel blessed after reading the nightmares of other customers and with all their problems with defective parts and getting no results. My question is what has happened to products in America. There is no quality left.

After I called them, they finally sent out a repairman yesterday (Thursday), and he told me I had a bad circuit board and possibly a compressor. The parts would have to be ordered, and I probably would not have the unit working for another two weeks. The bill will be about $500. When I asked him how I was supposed to live without refrigeration for that long, he replied, "Go rent one". That is indescribably bad customer service. To add insult to injury, it is quite apparent neither LG nor ANE could care less. LG Customer Service is an oxymoron. Please stay away from this company and Samsung as well (they also use ANE) until they establish a better service provider.

The store manager actually came out and fixed it for me; he replaced a faulty part, and no more leak. Then, when we would set the freezer temp to -2 degrees F, the panel would light up with error codes, and the water and ice dispenser wouldn't work. LG service said not to set freezer below 0 as it causes the mother board to freeze up. Had to unplug it for six hours, to reset it. ??? Why have settings if you can't use them?

Went along fine, but ice cubes remained a bit watery. Then one morning last week, opened freezer to a mess of thawed food. Then the error codes began coming on again. It is so sad there is apparently no quality control at LG!! Beautiful concept, but for $3300 one would expect to get more than ten and a half months out of a major appliance! Calls to Geek Squad with a promise someone would contact me within 48 hours. No call for over a week! I raised Caine, and now they are replacing my unit with one of my choosing. I am going with the new, four door Samsung with Soda stream. Fingers crossed! Get it together LG!!!

The repairman messed with the seal on one visit, then replaced the seal on another visit and finally replaced the freezer door on the third visit. Problem with that was then resolved. Was gone for three months and back home for summer and the freezer quit working on July 4 - water all over the hard wood floors and freezer food thawed--they came out and did repairs on a fan. A week later the same thing happened - came out - needs new compressor. Came out with the right part no. on the box, but when he went to install it, wrong compressor - could not even restart the fridge section - so without fridge too. Yesterday they installed the correct compressor and freezer won't go below 29 degrees.

American has been very good to do repairs and are trying to help us. We also bought the extended warranties, but that company has been somewhat difficult to work with. It is like no one knows who should do what. Very unhappy with this product. Now I have seen many others experiencing the same issues. Should the consumer have to suffer inconveniences and perhaps even damage to their home PLUS pay for the product and warranties especially when LG surely knows they have problems? I feel badly for the repairmen, but am wondering why companies continue to sell these products when obviously there are significant issues. What are we to do?

We purchased this LG refrigerator from Home Depot in July of 2012. The first problem that we had with the unit occurred in January of 2013 with the unit gave us an IF error code which came up to be the ice maker fan. LG sent a service company out to look at the system and they defrosted the ice maker fan. About three weeks later the unit gave us the same IF error code once again and LG sent out a different company to look at the unit for the second time. The second company that they sent out was MR. Appliance. The tech call into support and the support team told him to unplug the unit for 2-3 days to let it defrost. I told the tech that it was not acceptable to unplug the unit for that long of a period and I called the customer service department back with LG and the service rep told me that two parts needed to be replaced to fix the problem. He gave me the part numbers and I called MR. Appliance back and gave them the part numbers to order from LG.

Several weeks passed and I had not heard anything on this matter so I called MR. Appliance back and Jessica told me that they were not going to order the parts or service the unit any longer. I called LG and told them. At this point they sent out a third company (Tollys Ac and Refrigeration). I gave that company the part numbers that needed to be ordered and they ordered the parts. It took about three weeks for them to get the parts in and get the problem fixed. After this point the unit started working better still not correctly for about a month until the unit shut off with an RF error code. This is the error code that the unit is still displaying and will not function. We have been receiving the run around from LG for about the past 2 and 1/2 months that the unit has not been functioning due to this error code. LG is refusing to honor the warranty on the unit and send a company out to fix the unit. I got a response on Facebook from LG saying that they will not assist with the matter. This unit has a 10 year warranty. I received a voice mail from Candice with LG on 7/22/13. Candice works in the Alabama office with LG. I left a voice back on her number and never did receive a return call, and the number is **.

Why do I need have to spend $500 plus dollars on parts on an appliance that is only 3 years old?

I have a Whirlpool refrigerator in my garage that sits out in the heat and has been out there for 15 plus years and I bought it used... And it still works. If they are so confident in their products, make them last for more than 3 years. I'm upset that this happened but if they carried a warranty that replaced and/or fixed my problems, it would not be as bad. But when I call and to get my refrigerator fixed, it's a like buying a new one all over again. Like I said, this will be my last LG product I will ever buy.

I started calling appliance repair services. Most were closed at 6 PM but the ones who did answer said, "Sorry, but we can't work on LG appliances." I asked, "Why not?" I was told, "Because LG will NOT ALLOW us to be a part of their service network and LG will NOT let us buy parts." The repair services said that they had filled out apps and had been jumping through hoops for LG for 1-2 years without success. Because of LG's policies, I lost $400-500 worth of food and am FORCED TO BUY A NEW REFRIGERATOR.

Today, Monday, the other repair services that I had left messages for Friday night have been returning my calls and ALL OF THEM told me the very same thing about LG service policies. LG forces customers to call LG and LG sends a repair person (you have to wait days) who charges 2-3 times the going rate, and LG charges sky high prices for parts. The repair services said to buy a Whirlpool, Amana or Kenmore instead because parts are readily available and less expensive. Whirlpool donates to Habitat for Humanity, too. GE parts are the highest, except for LG.

Purchased two LG refrigerators both breaking down same way. Thought the first time was just defect; now after reading blogs and comments just poor manufacturing. On the first unit 1mth after buying, fresh food storage stopped keeping food cold and freezer stopped freezing. After 3 attempts to fix through LG, I refused a fourth try. They refused to exchange. Home Depot absorbed the loss and exchanged the refrigerator, which they didn't have to do. Now 2.5yrs later of course bought LG, like I said 1st time bad luck. Now again refrigerator not cooling, had to throw out food last night and again today and the freezer now not working, of course, warranty expired after first year, and they can't help me. Have 4 kids, can barely afford to buy food and make it last. Now I'm throwing it away and can't get help. Why would a Refrigerator stop working only after 2 1/2 years? Poor manufacturing.

After checking internet blogs and complaints, found out thousands of customers have had the same problems, have been reported it, and have gotten no help, have to pay out of pocket and have someone come in and diagnose the problem then order the part directly through LG. The company should be ashamed of its self for not resolving a problem like this when families buy their products because of past reputation of being reliable - $1200.00 paid and only lasted 2.5years. Now will cost me between $200.-300.00 for the repair. I will never recommend or purchase another LG product again. That's why they only warranty their products for 1yr only. For a purchase this big and important storing food and knowing all families and people in general have the use for this item, they would have more integrity.
