Bought a LG refrigerator, had problems from day one with the ice maker... Now it's not cooling or freezing. Called the "so called" customer service and they offered 2 options. Hahahaha! I could pay 400.00 for a one time fix or 600.00 for a one time fix with a year warranty. We opt for the 400.00 one time fix. Come to find out we can't get anyone that will work in this piece of crap for 400.00. LG did not tell us this, we found this out on our own. The company that LG supposedly set our appointment with told us they would not touch it for 400.00 or 600.00. They say it sounds to be the compressor which is an all day job. Long story short... Pass on LG. Their products are crap and so is the customer service who isn't even in the United States. Save yourself the aggravation.

Black stainless steel peeling. Purchased black stainless steel refrigerator, stove, and microwave. Within one month noticed peeling on left door, service person replaced. No charge. Third month peeling on right door. Service replaced. No charge. Fifth month peeling on freezer door. Service replaced. Month eight peeling again on freezer door. Called Lowe's who purchased it from and got them involved. Thinking of returning freezer, stove, microwave getting regular stainless steel. At first LG said they did not even cover defect in black stainless steel. That's what they told manager of Lowe's. Then I called. Said they would replace it. Send pictures. I'm sorry send new part and I'm now needing to get in writing if it happens again after one year warranty that they will continue to replace or repair. Don't think I'm going to get that though but I will try love the fridge, stove, microwave. Just concerned about black stainless steel peeling.

We have a six year old French door LG refrigerator, $2,700 purchased at Home Depot. It stopped cooling fridge and freezer. A local repair man told me it was the compressor and that he didn't work on LG refrigerators. I called the customer service number in the owner's manual. The sealed system has a parts warranty for seven years and the compressor has a parts warranty for 10 years.

When I called them, I told them that my compressor or sealed system was bad as the repair guy had told me. They acted like it was no problem and sold me a repair package for $459.00. They said that would include the repair and a year warranty on the repair. I said great and bought it. They send out the first guy after waiting several days. He said after a few minutes, the compressor is bad and he had to order the part. Well, after several days I hear that he is not coming back to fix it so now I have to wait several more days for LG to send someone else.

Another guys shows up and says compressor bad, I'm like "yeah I know that". He says "we will order the parts and it will take several days to get it". He gives me a card and receipt and is on his way. I wait days and never hear anything. I call the number in his card, they say "we don't fix LG compressors". This is the same story that I got from the first one and this time I told LG to only send out a service that could fix it because I already knew that was the issue and they should have too since the first guy didn't want to fix it. So this time I was livid.

They sent someone else that refused to fix it probably because LG will not pay them enough to fix it. LG continued to give me a runaround after they sold me this repair service for labor on what should be parts under warranty. Not to mention the fact that they screwed me around for three weeks sending their two chosen repairmen out who then refused to fix it but LG was not straightforward on that.

I got the same BS story that I read in some other reviews that they say they don't have a repair person in my area. I told them that I live right outside of Houston and if you don't have a repair person in my area then you don't have one anywhere. They then said they would refund my repair purchase minus $100 for a service call fee. I was more livid!

At this point I had been out of a refrigerator for over three weeks. We are a family of six with four children. It was our only refrigerator. We were living out of a mini fridge out of our attic and coolers! They did not care one bit. As I figured out that this was going to be a process, I went to Lowe's and purchased a basic Whirlpool refrigerator for my garage. After threatening them with BBB and lawsuit, they refunded me my full purchase price of the repair package they sold me. I asked how they get away with not fulfilling their parts warranty. They offered me a "one time" chance to call my own repair man and I could call in or email his info to them and they would authorize him to get the parts under warranty but of course then I start over on service calls, fees and labor charges and I'm sure, more runaround with LG sending the parts that my repair guy would need to fix it.

I am so done with dealing with them. From the other reviews I read, I'm lucky that my fridge lasted six years! I paid $2,700 for this refrigerator and we have kept it in perfect condition but now it is an expensive nice looking nonworking piece of junk! They are a horrible company. I called local repair companies and many don't even work on LG or Samsung refrigerators. They say their systems are too complicated and awful. I will never ever buy an LG again. I will not purchase Samsung either after what I have read and found out from repairmen.

We have been operating out of the one I purchased for the garage and I am researching what to buy to replace my $2,700 LG. Awful, awful, horrible company for customer service!!! I will be purchasing Whirlpool/KitchenAid or maybe GE. It is really unbelievable what they put me through in this process and they do not care one little bit. I am a stay at home mom so I could be around without taking time off work but total and complete runaround and they lie non stop to you. They do not care about you one little bit and wouldn't care if you did have to take off work to deal with their scam and it is a scam!

First time I have ever felt compelled to write a review but after reading through so many here and having the worst experience I've ever had with a Customer "Service" group I really need to. For the reviewer who said they took a day off to be home for a confirmed (via email) service appointment that was a no-show cancellation because LG never actually had a repair person confirmed - the exact same thing happened to me two weeks ago today... I even called that morning 3 hours into my 4 hour window to verify and was told someone was en route only to find out when I called 90 minutes later I was only then told that the appointment was "canceled". I later spoke with the repair facility and they told me they had declined the job because they didn't have availability!

Seems I'm luckier than most that my LG fridge has gone 8 years without incident. 16 days ago my wife opened it in the morning and it was totally dead. No lights, no compressor, just no power. The outlet tested fine but the lack of lights pointed to it being electrical. I called the toll free number for LG on the inside of fridge and the person seemed helpful enough; Said it probably needed a new motherboard, but because it was out of warranty he would need my credit card details and for $361 we could get this fixed. That's cheaper than a new fridge so I gave him what I needed and they were certainly very expedient in putting the charge on my credit card!

I started to look around on the internet to see if any other reports of this issue and if the fridge could in fact be saved and learned that this whole issue likely stemmed from a small, blown 15 amp fuse... A part that LG soldered into the motherboard rather than put in a easily bracket for easy replacement that could be purchased for about 25 cents.

After the no-show appointment, LG Customer Service said they would give the job to another repair facility. They put me on hold, came back a few minutes later and told me they had left them a voicemail and they gave me the phone number and told me that I was free to reach out to them too. I phoned, and left a voicemail around midday that Friday and never received a callback. Over the weekend I phoned and left another voicemail to give them my cell # as well as I'd be back at work on Monday and that would be the best number to reach me.

By midday on Monday I still had not gotten a call. I did call the number through from the email confirmation the previous week and got a speaking person who gave me the true story on the "canceled" appointment and told me they could see me on Wednesday afternoon. Confirmed it with them and asked them to contact LG and that I would do the same to let them know that their other company doesn't appear to exist and they need to reassign it to the original technician they schedule. I called LG and was on the phone on hold for most of the time for almost an hour. After an hour and 20 minutes I was disconnected and nobody called me back (all this time I'm at work and doing LG's work for them!). I called LG back on my way home and the told me all was good to go.

Repairman comes on Wednesday (approximately 1 week since no fridge/contacting LG) after I take a half day to be home and the diagnosis is a blown fuse. Great, but despite it being known from the onset that the motherboard needs to be replaced he doesn't have the part, but they do have 2 in their warehouse and will work with the warranty company on the formalities to try and replace by Friday. No appointment gets made, Repair Service says they're waiting on LG to approve. I call LG and they tell me another Department can't make the appointment as the Repair Service's schedule isn't available online. I call the Repair Service and they tell me nonsense, they're getting scheduling confirmations from them right now. I call LG back, they tell me they're now waiting on the Claims Department to approve the part, a process that can take up to 3 business days (this despite charging me almost $400 to replace the part over a week ago).

Monday this week comes and I have no phone call, and no appointment. I call LG back and again more being put on hold but now the explanation is we're waiting on the part to come in. They couldn't answer me when their Claims Dept approved this so we arrived to this step, nor why we couldn't have had the repair facility (a LG contracted provider!) use one of theirs. They have in stock but I'm starting to feel this whole thing is shady. They told me refrigerator repairs are given priority status (a joke!) and that my simple repair was being given a priority to be remedied this week.

I called LG back 2 days later (Wednesday, 2 weeks of no fridge and first contact with LG) having not heard back from them and was told that the system shows that I was told that I would be contacted by Friday at the latest if the part had not arrived. I lost my patience at that point and told them I was not told the part coming in would take a full week and that I was instead told that my repair would be a priority to be completed this week and how could we be waiting on a part we knew it needed from the onset, that is readily available to purchase online at a fraction of what I'm being charged, and that their repair service was in possession of 2 of them.

I told them that rather than trying to bilk a few extra dollars of profit on this 5 minute repair job by using the cheapest available board they can assign in their system they really need to make this a customer resolution case as it's been 2 weeks and I need to speak with someone who can look at this absurd situation and make an actual decision to get it fixed. They tell me they will try to forward me to a supervisor to see if they can help.

After 10+ minutes on hold the person I was speaking with comes back online and tells me the repair appointment has been made for between 8 AM and 12 PM tomorrow. I thought someone in charge realized and was acting in customer-retention mode until they told me it was not the repairman who had seen me a week ago that would be coming but the one who never returned my 2 voicemails. I asked to confirm for certain he's bringing the board and fully prepared for the appointment to make the repair and am told is the case.

I take another half day from work, and the repairman shows up early and when I let him in my house I half-jokingly say to him, "Please tell me you have the board" and he looks at me with no clue and says he didn't bring anything, the work-order he got only said "LG Refrigerator - not cooling". He's almost as angry as I am that he wasn't told the fridge was totally dead of electric and that another technician had already been here and made the diagnosis. I felt bad for him as he came from a good distance away in the teeth of rush hour having been told to make my call a priority but a total waste of his time and mine.

At this point I called LG and just lost it with them and essentially told them their Out of Warranty purchase had to be some kind of scam bordering on criminality as there is no way a real business enterprise could be this incompetent! I was told my account was being escalated to their real Resolution people (i.e. the ones tasked with explaining the inexcusable) and it would take 24 to 48 business hours for one of them to contact me and no doubt the buffer is in hopes that I'm much calmer.

I have a family of 4 that's been living out of a cooler on my kitchen floor the last 16 days and running out every other night for a new 16 LBS bag of ice. I had to invest in a chest freezer for my garage so that we had some kind of food for my kids on-hand. I've burned 2 full days off from work and have easily spent more than 3 hours on the phone during business hours on hold with LG. And my fridge is still not fixed, and no appointment in sight for someone to come here and essentially unplug 5 little plugs and then plug the 5 little plugs into the new board. And they charged me almost $400 for this level of service when I could have gotten a new board for $120 and done this myself.

I think LG right now on the service front is trying to milk the last nickel of profit on these out of warranty purchases on the assumption it will be the last nickel they see from these customers. Perhaps a self-fulfilling prophecy experiences like this will make a reality. Maybe the US market isn't working out for LG Appliance as it doesn't seem like their heart is in it for the long-haul.

He told me that the door need to be replace it. He send all the information to LG, however, they did not reply. He provide me their customer service number. When I called them I was told that they did not do anything about cosmetic problems. I have been looking for background about these type of refrigerators, and there are more customers having this type of issues as well. How can a company does not take care of their quality? Why is this type of products in the market? Who is responsible for bad quality? I paid an extra warranty, and reported to them as well, but they told me that LG should be responsible for their quality.

All I got is "you are out of warranty", "I do understand" but we do buy appliance every year. This is not right. They make mass production, lots of mistake and can't stand by their product. I was told you have to send receipt to show proof of purchase, then one agent set up a appointment and cancel without letting me took a day off for this. Food going bad, losing energy. LG you should stand by your product.

In summary we have bought LG Fridge and the first time it malfunction in less than 5 years the formal support in Egypt came. They took the malfunction electronic card but never showed up again for more than 3 months and left us with unfunctional fridge. Last week they returned it unfixed to tell us that we have a piece of scrap metal in our home that cannot be fixed by its own company!!! It is a total failure to be unable to fix your own products in less than 5 years for the first time it malfunction. I am searching for a lawyer to sue them.

Purchase a French door refrigerator a year ago. 11 months in I called concerning loud noise. I was given a email to figure out how I can fix it. They never sent no one out. Needless to say refrigerator still continue to make noise after I tried to do what video suggest. A month later noise continues caked back, and I was quickly reminded that my warranty had expire. I explain the issue never was fix, before warranty expired. Was able to speak with supervisor and was told to verify proof of purchase and she would take care of it. It's been a week and no called. Now this morning the refrigerator has stop working all together and still making noise with errors displaying on door. Notified and they did not want to help. Someone suppose to call me back in 30 mins. It's been an hour no call. Food is defrosting as we play waiting game. I am so disappointed. Nice refrigerator, but only good for 11 months with no help of getting it fix.

While this refrigerator seems to have everything as you're reviewing it, it absolutely SUCKS! Not only does the product suck, the service on the product sucks. You seen $3k on a product and you would like to think that the degenerates that sell the thing might have an ounce of human decency in them but they don't. DON'T EVER BUY AN LG PRODUCT!!! They want your money, they couldn't care less about you.

I have this piece of ** refrigerator and the ice maker always (in literal terms: 9 days out of 10) freezes up and you have to pull out the ice maker, stab the chute with a knife to break up the ice cluster and it spreads the ice cubes all over the kitchen because it takes force to get it out. You have to cut in the tiny gap between the pull-out device and the door to sever the ice dam, then pull... to the point where you think the plastic will break... the ice maker out. It explodes in a shower of ice cubes that fling all over your kitchen. All that water/ice is wasted, you are MORE THAN PISSED OFF constantly and you never have access to anything but floor-ice. I would never recommend any product by this manufacturer because they simply don't care. I was told..."You bought it. Figure out how to use it the best in your house". Also, their water filters are ridiculously priced. I hope the manager of their support catches dick cancer and dies in front of his own mother.

We have purchased an LG refrigerator that is less than a year old. We reported an issue that when you shut one door the other door pops open. While fridge still technically worked, this isn't supposed to happen (especially with amount we paid); it also affects the ice and temperature and ruined food. We have had two other brands of fridges (Frigidaire and GE) for over 20+ years and this one we can only speak of in terms of months. It is not energy efficiency and does not work properly. We reported the issue to LG and they sent their own technician. (This is after we tried the online tips to lean fridge as far back as possible, etc.) The technician came and did not even touch fridge. When we told him issue he said it was a 'design flaw' and to contact a specific number. We called and they said they would get back to us within 24 hours - spoiler alert and first warning sign, they did not.

A few days later I called customer service. The person was helpful and gave me a supervisor number to contact the following day. I did and they set up another appointment which I was told would be the last because they would make sure their own technician fixed it. The technician no-showed. I was persistent and called LG multiple times. In total the technician no showed three times. I used four vacation days and my fridge does not work properly. My customer service was mixed - in fact, one person emailed and said "This can happen with top mounts because of the way the duct work is set up." followed by "The customer just needs to push on both doors to make sure they are closed all the way before walking away." To me, this wasn't an acceptable response after multiple contacts and only a few mere months of ownership.

Half of my customer service responses were terrible in tone and service. I was constantly pushed off and told to just schedule another appointment. I contacted customer service over 12 times, not including the four appointments, three of which LG no-showed after a 5 hour waiting block for appointment time. There were also several times - at least 3 (not including appointments) in which LG said they would follow up with me and never did. We can only talk about our LG product in terms of months. Our other fridges were a Frigidaire and GE unit which lasted 20 years and 22 years respectively. This LG fridge has only lasted a few months. In fact, it's basically only worth the $50 my electric company will give me under their program to encourage replacement of energy inefficient units. I would not recommend this product or the customer service.

I have copies of my contact, emails, and chat responses and summaries of my phone calls as I plan on following up. What good is a fridge door that makes another one open when you shut it? Apparently this is a common issue that LG has yet to address or fix but just keeps pushing down the line. I hope we can prevent other people from making the same mistake. If I can edit the post after submitting, I will share some of the poor customer service responses and a video of the issue, but I wanted to submit this as soon as possible.

Contacted LG Service Department on 07-01-13 Ref: Ice Maker. 07-03-13 Service Technician came out and ran a diagnostic on unit, determined that compressor was bad and had to order one. 07-06-13 9:20 PM Contacted service center and was advised that technician was due on Monday 07-08-13 between 8:00 AM and 12 Noon to replace compressor. 07-09-14 Contacted service center about noise coming from back of refrigerator. They advised that this was normal. 08-15-14 Contacted service center about noise coming from back of refrigerator. They advised that this was normal. Unknown date contacted service center concerning error codes “er rf” on display unit. Technician scheduled to come out on 10-01-14.

10-01-14 Service technician arrived to check on noise and cooling issues. Coil and fan motor frozen with ice. As technician was removing inside grille to get to fan he broke the grille. He defrosted the ice from the fan motor and replaced the grille with one he had in his truck. Set temperature for refrigerator to +34 degrees and temperature for freezer to -1 degree. He wrote up the service ticked and charged $81.98 for the “Duct Assembly, Multi (item number: **)” that he broke plus the $120 for service call plus $4.34 tax on the replacement grille part. 10-06-14 Sent Fax to a ** in the Alabama location concerning telephone conversation in which he advised LG would reimburse me for the cost of the repair part plus the tax. Fax included cover sheet, two page service ticket and copy of purchase order from hhgregg.

10-22-14 Called service center and after a 20 minute hold to verify my status, was advised that I should hear from Alabama around November 3rd. 07-10-15 Around 4:52 PM Eastern Time, called service center and advised them that freezer was not freezing (temperature was 62 degrees and rising) and that all food in freezer had spoiled. Furthermore, the refrigerator temperature was almost 70 degrees and food had spoiled. Additionally the unit was making a loud motor noise in the rear of the unit. After trying to explain the issue over and over again I requested to speak to a supervisor. I was placed on hold for 38 minutes and 26 seconds until I disconnected the call from my cell phone, but not before I had called the service center again from my house phone.

It was only after I explained everything again that I was informed that the executive staff (supervisors) department closed at 5:00 PM and that I could not run the “Smart Diagnostic” over the telephone because all of the service technicians in their department had also gone at 5:00 PM, that I would have to call back tomorrow on 7-11-15. The service center advised me that the service warranty had expired and any service call would be $120.00 plus parts. This was mentioned on three different times during the call. I did manage to schedule an appointment for a technician to come to the house on Monday, 7-13-15 between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Total time on the telephone service call was 58 minutes and 44 seconds.

7-11-15 Called the service center again and had to explain everything that I explained twice the night before. After requesting to run the “Smart Diagnostic” I was placed on hold then performed the diagnostic. After a delay they informed me that the diagnostic did not come through and we had to do it again. Once that went through I asked what it showed and was told that they did not know, that someone from the technical staff had to review it. They told me that they could schedule a technician to come out to the house on Tuesday afternoon on 7-/14/15 but there would be a $120.00 service call charge plus the cost of any parts. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and they asked me what that was about.

Finally after going back and forth with them I was placed on hold for about 12 minutes before a supervisor identified as ** came on the line. She asked what the problem was and then placed me on hold while she brought up my file on her computer. That took another 5 plus minutes. Finally after explaining everything to her about the previous night and current call she placed a one-time extended warranty on the unit and gave me an authorization number of: **. She advised that she could get a technician out on Tuesday afternoon 7/14/15 and when I told her that I had one already scheduled for 7/13/15 she confirmed it. This call was then terminated after 58 minutes and 11 seconds.

7-13-15 Contacted by service technician at 3:12 PM who advised that he would be arriving in about 20 minutes. He asked what I thought was wrong with the unit and I replied that I thought that the compressor had gone bad. I explained the temperature readings and the noise it was making. He stated that if it was in fact a bad compressor that he could not fix it today as he did not have one with him and would have to order one. He arrived at 3:38 PM, removed the lower back grill panel to access the compressor and noticed a lot of dust on the evaporator coils. I asked him if I was supposed to remove the rear access grille to try and clean the coils and he advised against it stating that it could damage the vanes on the coils.

He went back out to his truck to get his gauges and checked the compressor which he determined was bad. He advised that he was fully booked for tomorrow, Tuesday, 7/14/15 but would press his schedule and plug me in on the end of the day. He departed at 4:04 PM advising that he would call when he was on his way out to replace the compressor. 7-14-15 Around 1:23 PM service technician ** called to advise he was on his way. Compressor delivered via FEDEX this afternoon and left at the garage door. Technician arrived at 1:30 PM, completed compressor swap and departed at 3:30 PM.

06-04-16 Noticed that items inside the refrigerator were not as cold and normal that that on several occasions milk and dairy products were spoiling before the “Best if Used By” dates. The inside temperature of unit felt cool and not cold. Placed thermometer inside the refrigerator portion of the unit and began taking readings. Also noticed that freezer unit was not as cold as it should be also. Placed thermometer inside the freezer unit and began taking readings as well. Temperature settings on the panel are set the same as the technician left them on his last visit on 7/14/15. Refrigerator set to 34 degrees and freezer set to -1 degrees.

06-05-16 At 9:00 AM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 48 degrees on a dial-type thermometer and freezer showing 5 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-05-16 At 3:00 PM took temperature readings. 06-06-16 At 11:32 AM called LG toll free number (800-243-0000) received recording and sent link for self-diagnostic. Performed self-diagnostic as per link and advised to contact LG repair at (866-558-2559). Refrigerator was showing 50 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 6 degrees on a digital thermometer.

06-06-16 At 12:10 PM called LG toll free number and automated system advised they would call back within the next two hours. At 12:15 PM was connected to a Customer Service Rep in the Philippines. I requested several times to be connected to an American Customer Service Rep in the United States but was told three times that there were no US representative at their location. After my fourth attempt I was placed on hold. At 12:18 PM the Philippine rep came back on the line and advised that they did not have a US contact number. I requested to speak to a supervisor and when queried as to why I explained that I wanted to speak to a US rep and that her service center should have a number. She put me on hold again.

At 12:21 PM she came back on the line to advise she will transfer me to a supervisor. At 12:27 transferred to ** in the Alabama office. After trying to explain my issues with her she placed me on hold several times explaining they are using new software programs and have glitches. She is trying to plug in the extended warranty on the unit. She returned on the line to advise that she had scheduled the technician ** to come out between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM under Authorization Number **. She further advised that this authorization included the service call plus parts and labor. ** also provided a direct number to the Alabama Service Center at **. The telephone contact was terminated after 50 minutes and 47 seconds at 1:00 PM.

06-07-16 At 11:15 AM received call from Service Tech who advised that he would be out within the next 15 – 30 minutes. He arrived at 11:35 and performed a refrigeration pressure check on the system. He stated that it appeared there is a leak at one of the coil joints where the copper joins the aluminum. He indicated that the High Side pressure dropped 30 psi with no movement on the Low Side and that indicates a leak somewhere in the system. He further stated that much drop could indicate only a ½ charge or less of coolant presently in the system. He explained that there was a company issue with ordering parts to have them overnighted to the customer.

Lately the parts have been shipped to him which delays service. He stated that the parts he needs will be overnighted to me and should be here NLT 10:30 AM tomorrow, Wednesday, June 8th. He has scheduled an appointment for Thursday at 1:00 PM just to be safe and at present he only has one appointment for tomorrow. If I receive the parts tomorrow morning I am to give him a call and he will work me into his Wednesday schedule.

He indicated that the job would take several hours to complete (Of note: He asked me if I was removing the rear access panel to blow out dust and vacuum the coil area. I told him that on 7-13-15 I asked him if I was supposed to remove the rear access grille to try and clean the coils and he advised against it stating that it could damage the vanes on the coils. He told me that he did not say that, that he highly recommends the customer remove the rear access grille and try to blow out the dust and debris, then vacuum the debris up, just being careful not to get near the vanes or coils.). After placing the order for the parts to be shipped/overnighted here he departed at 12:05PM.

06-08-16 At unknown time, received call from Service Technician to advise that the FedEx tracking indicated that the parts he had ordered had arrived. I confirmed that and he indicated that he would be arriving sometime around 11:00 AM. He had ordered both a refrigerator coil and the freezer coil which had arrived and be commenced disassembling the inside of the refrigerator to swap out the refrigerator coil which he felt had a small leak on one of the connections. After steaming ice off of the end or the coil he replaced it with the new one. He then checked the pressurization on the lines and said that he was satisfied with the as it did not appear there were any leaks. After checking other things in the unit he packed up and departed advising that he would check back to see how the unit was performing.

06-09-16 At 8:52 AM received a call from Service Technician, who was checking on the performance of the unit. I advised him that it did not appear to be cooling as he had predicted, that the freezer was in the teens and the refrigerator in the lower 40’s. He advised me to keep a check on it and he would schedule me for the first of the week. 06-12-16 At 3:14 PM received a call on answering machine from Service Technician who advised that he has me scheduled for Tuesday, 6-13-16 between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

06-13-16 At 2:07 PM received a call from Service Tech who advised he would be here within the next 10 - 15 minutes to check on the unit again. He arrived at approximately 2:25 PM and proceeded to first blow out the dust that had accumulated under the unit and on the coils which was minimal. He then began to test the system refrigerant and determined that it was not up to capacity. He then vacuumed the lines and added some additional Freon. He advised that it appeared that there was a little water in the line which he was able to purge. He indicated that the unit should work fine at this point with the cooling in the refrigerator set to 34 degrees and the freezer set to 0 degrees. I told him that I would continue to take temperature readings in both the refrigerator and freezer and if I noticed them not performing I would call him and let him know. After about 1 ½ hours of work he departed.

06-14-16 At 8:53 AM received a call from Service Technician asking how the unit was performing. I texted him back at 11:39 AM advising that the refrigerator was at 37 degrees and the freezer was at 9 degrees. At 12:15 PM Service Technician called again to advise that he had mistakenly had a parts order sent to our house and wanted to know if was OK for him to come by and pick it up. I advised that it was not a problem. He asked about the refrigerator and I advised him that I would continue to monitor the temperatures several times during the day and evening for the next few days to see if the system performs as expected and would advise him of results. He advised that he will continue to check up on it and would be calling periodically.

On 05-24-17 we returned home from an extended vacation to discover that the ice maker was not producing ice. Door was dispensing water but there was no ice in the door-side ice maker and therefore nothing to dispense. On 06-05-17 At 12:18 PM I contacted the Executive Offices in Alabama at ** to explain the issue I was having with the ice maker not working. The person I spoke with, whose name I failed to get, advised me that she would give me the number of the local service center to schedule an appointment for a technician to come out and diagnose the problem. There would be charges for the technician to come out, charges for the diagnostic, charges for parts and labor since the unit was past its one year warranty and had already been given a one- time courtesy and she was not going to issue another one. I was basically out of luck but could get it fixed through the technician with service call charges plus parts and labor.

While the service technician was very personable and professional, that is the only thing good I can say about me experience with this company. The technician even told me on several occasions during his visits that the parts "i.e. compressors, etc" were inferior and the technicians were having all kinds of problems with them. With the experience that I have had in dealing with this company, I doubt that I will every purchase anything else with the LG label.

We purchased an LG Refrigerator in 2014, Model LFX#31925, we had to replace the ice maker within 3 months. A year later we are experiencing freezing problems with the freezer as well as the ice maker not working again. The product is out of warranty and LG will replace parts such the compressor or the condenser, but no labor will be paid. My point is you pay $2500 for a product and you get less than ever. We have a 20 year old GE Fridge which works better than the LG. It appears the repair service department will need to remove our unit to fix it and we will be without a fridge while it is being repaired.

It appears globalization has done nothing to improve the quality of products. It is time we stop charging more for less, it is downright robbery to the people who put their trust in reviews which most of the time are not accurate. When I see all the complaints against LG, I think it is time to let people know. There are so many companies that LG makes appliances for as well and this should be disclosed. I must say do not buy LG, Life is not Good, their products are not worth the price you pay for them. I do not wish to hurt the distributor who we bought the unit from, they are good people, just know the product I am discussing is poorly made.

Redid my kitchen and went to BrandsMart and bought a complete LG kitchen package, Worst quality product ever. After about 2 or 3 months the fan stops working so we call Brandsmart. Worst customer service ever. They should be ashamed, the guy came out and didn't even have the proper equipment with him to de-ice the fan. My husband had to loan him the equipment. P.S. it works for about 6 months then stops working again so we call Brandsmart again. The guy comes out and resets the refrigerator by unplugging it and plugging it back it, of course that didn't work.

I call LG who sends out their own technician who said it was the motherboard. That gets replaced, only to work another 2 months. Now they are replacing the compressor and the two evaporators. I am out of manufacture warranty but LG is covering the labor cost but are giving me a hard time. I requested a new refrigerator and a refund and who knows if that is going to happen. This whole process has been like pulling teeth, I have also been without a refrigerator twice, for 3 weeks each time. They are also giving me a one time food loss credit. Don't know how much, but I think a class action lawsuit is in order, the anxiety and stress dealing with the stupid techs and the customer service is too much. I don't think I can do this a 5th time. The refrigerator is only one year old now.

I have been trying to replace a broken shelf support in my 10 year old refrigerator. The part should cost about $20 and without it, the $2500 refrigerator can barely be used. I have found the part number and contacted everyone on the internet that claims to have one. One parts person told me that they had several in stock in past years but this was a high demand item and they could not get anymore. Universally I was told that the part is no longer available.

I finally got through directly to LG customer service and (after being disconnected twice), was informed that LG does not make or keep parts past 7 years after a product was made. Nor did they have a substitute for it. They said I should call any local parts companies to see if they might have one lying around. I explained that no one has this in stock and asked to speak to a supervisor. The rep took my information and assured me that I would hear from a supervisor within 1 hour. That was two days ago. I have had a problem with a different (small) LG product in the past, but cannot believe how little they support their customer base. There is no way I could recommend to anyone that they should try this company's products.

They first sent someone out that doesn't even work on refrigerators and now going into week 3 saying they will call in 2 business days to schedule. And the more I called it's now 3 to 5 business days just to get an appointment set which hasn't happened yet! I've thrown out hundreds of dollars in food! I never have bought LG in the past. Always stuck with Samsung and I should have not ever switched brands... lesson learned.

I feel like since they can't get a service person out here a full replacement should be in order and when I said I DID want to do a survey I was never given that call. When I told the man on the phone I wanted to make a complaint... he said, "Ma'am other than it not working what do you need to complain about?" And did not send me to another extension to even do that or take a formal complaint himself. What the heck is with this company. I will NEVER buy this brand again in any product...

My daughter and I bought a house with new appliances, (LG) the refrigerator worked for 9 months but it was three months old when we started using it. When it failed, we called LG and they said "it is out of warranty, you can hire an independent technician or hire us to diagnose the appliance." We hired someone who said it had a defective piece from fabrication. We called back to LG, they said they will repair for $400 where they will include the defective piece. I paid ($400) and they sent their technician who came and in a 5 minutes visit he said he came just to learn what was the problem, he would be back (one month already in this process). The next days we received a phone call from LG saying they wouldn't repair it because someone already put their hands on it and that we can expect $200 hundred refund (from my $400 I just paid) because the visit costs $200.

How sad, how unfair, with my daughter a young person struggling to pay her bills receiving a treatment like this one. Now she has been more than a month with no refrigerator, lost the money she paid for the first technician and again the same amount by having LG putting their hands into her account in such a way. Their only suggestion is to buy a new one. Can I expect a little of justice for my daughter? I m planning to write a letter to the CEO but I know the chances for him to never read it are higher that the opposite. I hope you can do something about it.

I spent almost $3000 on my fridge in Jan. of 2015. Last week it slowly stopped cooling, we didn't notice at first and then last Friday I realized it was barely cold. Started checking all the food and most was bad. We hadn't been home much so I looked in the freezer for the first time in a couple of days and everything was defrosted. Had to throw away 3.5 trash bags of food. I called LG, they gave me a authorized tech to come look at it, which he did on Friday. Did the unplug thing, wait hours and nothing. He came back on Sat. to tap the system to see if Freon was leaking - we only had 25% Freon running through the fridge which could also mean the compressor is bad as well. This tech was leaving to go on vacation, I decided I couldn't wait a week for him to come back so called LG to get another tech's #.

Tech 2 came out yesterday and discovered Tech 1 had illegally removed the tap after performing the Freon test and Freon had been leaking out of my fridge for 4 days! He also ruined whatever it is you connect the tap too. Tech 2 said now all my hoses are contaminated and this fridge will be a nightmare to repair, he probably will even decline the job because it could possibly mean weeks of having to come back on multiple occasions to get it fixed. Tech 2 called LG while here, documented everything with their tech support, pictures, videos everything. LG has extended the warranty for us but now they want us to have a 3rd Tech come out, has to be specific one and this company can't get out until the end of next week, we have already been extremely inconvenienced without a fridge for a week and now they want us to wait another week to get the 3rd authorized tech before they will proceed???

I called Tech 2 again today and he said he doesn't understand, he was already here yesterday, he is an authorized technician for LG and he documented everything, there is nothing else for him to do. Just today alone I have logged 8 calls with LG, takes an average of 7-10 minutes just to get where you need to be. If you want to talk to a supervisor they say one will call you back in 30 mins., over an hour later I'm calling them back because I have not received a call from a supervisor.

At this point I'm getting upset and told the supervisor I just need a new refrigerator and her response was "well that's not up to you." Very dissatisfied with the runaround I'm getting from LG, I bought 4 appliances from them in 2015 and will never buy another one because of their antiquated customer service system. Also, should I be contacting the EPA, is my fridge still leaking Freon but LG says that's ok and just wait another week?? At this point I have lost two days of work, probably about $400 of food and my stress level is through the roof!

Purchased an LG fridge about 6 months ago. Over two weeks ago it began not cooling well and progressively got worse, soupy ice cream, rotting veggies etc... Called the place we bought it from Goedeker's online. They forwarded us to LG since it was under a year old. Goedeker's made some calls but even the President Steve Goedeker said he can't do much. Unbelievable, these companies are happy to take your money but have no problem leaving you and your family high and dry.

LG has been a nightmare to deal with, the first week was wasted speaking to representatives that barely understood English. Finally request someone to come out on their website hoping that will get someone to come out and help us... After many phone calls, many lies, many conversations of no one caring (we are a family with a son under 2 years old etc... in a rural area) it's over two weeks now and not even a phone call or servicer has been sent out to even diagnose our fridge. I even found a tech willing to come out and provided LG all the info - found out later through another source that spoke to their dealer department that they denied him because they didn't want to pay him standard rates. They spoke to another servicer in our area and they didn't approve his rates either and kept trying to talk him down as well.

They have chosen to not help us and keep our family waiting to try to pay low rates to local service repair men. You'd think they've spent at least that much paying their employees to make so many calls trying to negotiate ridiculously low rates. Why not just do the right thing and service the customer??? They have put us off, delayed and delayed any kind of progress just to pinch pennies and negotiate with service repairmen to see who will take their low negotiated rates. SO WRONG. My advice NEVER EVER EVER buy LG, our fridge was a $2700 fridge and it is not working in 6 months. They could not care less. Don't buy from online places, buy at your local appliance Ma and Pa place. Someone who will actually care, and hold true to some values.

My LG refrigerator broke down over a week ago after just 18 months. I paid over $3,500 for it. I have been trying to have my case reviewed by LG for over a week now but they keep rejecting my proof of purchase even though on top of the original receipt and invoice, the Home Depot store where I purchased it from, issued an official proof of purchase letter. I spent over $7,200 on all LG appliances and I am not happy with any of them. The display on the stove broke down in the first week I had it. The washer keeps stalling when I run certain programs. The dryer routinely stops with an error message that the duct is blocked (which is bogus, we checked it on many occasions and there is no obstruction) and the dishwasher does not completely dry the dishes even in extra dry mode.

I have never before written a negative review but this company does not deserve to be in business. They do not stand by their product and use the annoying and false slogan "Life is Good". Good for them maybe. Not for the customer. Their customer service is a nightmare. All calls are answered by representatives who serve as a layer of protection so you cannot actually get through to anyone who is a decision maker. If you are considering a purchase of an appliance, please stay away from the LG brand!!! Worst ever. I owned a Samsung fridge before and it worked like a dream and was nicely designed. I kick myself in the rear end for not sticking with my gut when I made the decision to purchase the LG junk brand.

Who still takes that long to order anything. Then another repair call to install the parts, and another charge. Once again, you are lucky if it lasts more than a day or two. 6 months is good. LG could care less and Sears doesn't seem to care either. Perhaps a class action suit is in order. At the bare minimum it may force LG and their poor products and even worse customer service out of the market. As for Sears, they will likely be gone by this time next year. Unfortunately, as soon as the 1 year warranty expired, so did the refrigerator and the freezer. They both stopped working. The LG repairman states that he needed to order a part and would return. He did so, but unfortunately the new part that was installed didn't fix the problem.

A few hours later the refrigerator also developed a loud noise as well as a vibration. The repairman was supposed to come back this morning, but LG called 30 minutes ahead of time to say that the repairman called in sick and they don't have an alternate repairman (even though I live in middle of LA). I took the day off from work to be home for the repair and 2 days before the repair company calls to tell me they couldn't make the appointment and that LG just tentatively schedules a service call. They never communicated that to me, kept me on the phone for over an hour waiting to get to the correct department and then had me "jump through hoops" to have the money paid for the "repair" refunded to my account. I would never buy a LG product again. In addition the dishwasher isn't worth the $1000.00 I spent on it!

Bad Service - 38 months old French Door with dual ice makers and the in door ice maker fails. It makes ice but cannot seem to get them to fall when it turns to empty without getting stuck and making a clicking noise. I called LG and they connected me to an LG authorized service center 70 miles away. The service center called the day they were to arrive and asked me how I was going to pay. I asked for an estimate and was informed that ice makers cannot be repaired as LG does not fix ice makers but only replaces them for a cost of $500. The reason that was provided is they are made in Korea. What a bunch of BS from the authorized service center. I just canceled the order for all LG products on the new home going up. I would not take the chance with their product again.

I was out of country for business when my wife tells me our 5 year old LG refrigerator stopped working. I had her call LG customer service department (India). They provided her with an authorized LG Service Center 50 miles from our house. The cost for the service center to make the service call to my home was $215 which included 1 hour of labor that would be applied to the service call and anything left over applied to the repair. It took the service center 1 week to make the service call. At 5 years my refrigerator has only a 7 year warranty on the compressor with no labor covered. The service call by the service center determined the compressor and motherboard were bad. The repairman only assessed the call for 15 minutes leaving 45 minutes toward repair. I was also told that I would have to get the parts from LG. Contacted LG for the parts and they said the service center would have to order the parts.

I went back and forth for about a week between the service center and LG. Got an LG Case Number that was offered after about the 15th call to LG. I asked for a US based LG customer service rep and was told that does not exist. Today LG offered to send the Service Center a "Part Authorization #" so that they could order the parts. I am going on 3 weeks without a refrigerator functioning in my home. I was told the Part Authorization # will take at least 3 days. The service center says once they have the Part Authorization # it will take about a week to get the part. Then another week to come out for the service repair call. If you are thinking of purchasing an LG product you are out of your freak'n mind.

After having this fridge (LG 29.6 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator MODEL LFXS07265) for only 16 months there was a failure with this product and I had to throw out all the food. I called LG and they required a warranty purchase $328 dollars for 60 days before they could send someone to house for repairs. I was surprised that LG would not stand behind their product that was less than 2 years old citing that this was out of warranty. I did a look up online and noticed that error code I had was very common and other customer has the same issue, yet LG sits on their hands and continues to push this product without acknowledging a known issue with their product.

I am recommending staying away from any LG product based on LG's product reliability is one of the worst I have seen for a major appliance. Symptoms. Loud fan, water and ice dispenser stopped working and refrigeration failed. This is more of a oven now as the temp gauge shows that it is 80 degrees vs the 38 I have it set to. I am posting this review on my internal social network at work so that this is available to 350,000 plus employees at work advising them to stay away from LG.

Literally the day I finished paying for my $2800 French Door LG refrigerator, it stopped working. At first I thought it was the ice maker. Had a repair person out who reset it and said to call back in 24 hrs if it didn't work. After 24 hrs still no luck, but now I've started realizing that I keep throwing stuff away in my refrigerator after just a day or so because it's gone bad. Finally after about 2 weeks of this, I realize that the refrigerator is not cooling, despite the 32 degrees reading on the outside temp setting.

Call another repair person out after calling several that don't deal with LG because they say they're garbage and he says he can't fix it, to call LG and ask for a courtesy one time flat rate repair. I do that, he comes out, and says it's the compressor which is on back order until May 20. More than 2 weeks from now. Wonder why the part is on backorder? Maybe because it's garbage and everyone seems to have the same problem? Please please please don't make the mistake of buying these products. They are absolute junk. As are Samsung as well. These are the two all the repair people I've spoken to say to stay away from.

We purchased a brand new LG french door refrigerator (bottom drawer freezer and 2 door refrigerator with ice and water in the door). We purchased it through Home Depot for $2200 in April 2016. We researched and shopped around and felt good about the purchase. Didn't buy extended warranty - why would we... it's a brand new fridge with manufacturers warranty and solid company right?? WRONG!!!

I NEVER write online reviews. This experience is so shockingly horrible I had to submit a review. The ice in the door constantly melts and refreezes. When it refreezes it bonds the giant chunk of ice from the ice maker to the door. You need an icepick or a crowbar to then remove the ice maker from the door. Of course, as soon as you pry it apart, the entire bin of ice and melted water drops onto the floor and all around your feet. The melted ice block fills every nook 6 inches deep into the ice maker. Again, using an icepick you can chop up the ice and use your vacuum or spoons to extract all the ice.

Home Depot won't touch this. Refer you to LG Customer Service. Took multiple calls and LG over the phone told us it was our fault and we must be leaving refrigerator door open too long and were melting the ice. They told us to open the refrigerator door NO MORE THAN 1-2 TIMES PER DAY??? Finally, they sent a technician. The technician reviewed the fridge and told me LG is terrible and he sees this all the time. However, his report back to LG indicated he found no issues. LG issued report to us that we need to TURN OFF THE ICEMAKER every night before bed and empty the bin.

In the morning we can turn the ice maker back on but that we MUST USE ALL THE ICE EACH DAY OR TURN IT OFF. They claim the ice maker is so efficient and meant to make more ice than we can use because they were getting complaints it wouldn't make enough ice. So we've been turning the ice maker on and off each day - which makes us open the refrigerator doors twice a day by the way. And the problem is still there. Thanks LG!! What a waste of $2200. A waste of many people's time in your games and a ridiculous strategy. Buyers are savvy and expect more than stupid answers. A very unsatisfied customer who is also a realtor and refers people to buy new appliances all the time! Will make sure people don't buy LG for sure!

So needless to say looks awful. I bought the extra warranty. I called LG, said warranty is up. As soon as the warranty ran out. We have a frost built up in the freezer. Every 3 months we manually have to take everything out and defrost the freezer. An ice built up under the drawer, snow on everything, can't even close the freezer until this is done. It's only 6 years old. A refrigerator should last longer than this. Flapper between the french doors quit working, so you manually have to close this before you can close the doors. We bought an LG LFX31925ST French Door refrigerator in January 2012. It has operated flawlessly. Both my wife and I have frequently commented on what a great purchase this was. We recently observed a periodic error message indicating that a freezer fan was failing. Since I don't expect anything mechanical to run forever, I was happy that the product pointed me to the likely problem with an error message. I was impressed that I was easily able to download owner and repair manuals online, and that part diagrams and the parts themselves were readily available from numerous sources. We ordered the needed part and removing the freezer drawer and replacing the back wall with new sensor and fans was a $100 repair that took 45 minutes at most.

We have owned refrigerators in the past that required a new ice maker every year. Our LG ice maker is now more than 5 years old and with daily use still works perfectly. I'm sold on LG products. I don't have the receipt anymore, but these are the registration details: Model Number: LFX31925ST. Serial Number: 106KREL0F452. Purchase Date: 01/12/2012.

I had the same horrible experience as most of the reviews I have read. Multiple phone calls leading to nowhere. Had 3 different techs sent by LG and all diagnosed different problems. One said I needed new compressor, the other said compressor was fine but that I had a blockage, the third said I have a leak. I was still covered under the warranty but the techs all explained that the fix was extensive, might not solve issue and it could break down again.

I've never been more proud and embarrassed at myself in my life. I kicked and screamed and shouted and fought with them on the phone for over an hour and a half until they approved me getting my money back (even then I waited for the confirmation email saying so). I'm not the type of person to act like that but ultimately I had to be to get what I deserved. My advice, don't give in and fight like heck to get your money back... it can happen. Purchased an extended warranty on March 14, 2017 for my LG refrigerator for $375 through Assurant which LG told me I had to go through to get coverage. LG contacted Royal Electronics from Bunnell Fl. to service my refrigerator. R.E. phone #386-756-1775. R.E. contacted me to set up date to come to my home to look at my refrigerator. R.E. did show up but only after cancelling the first appointment and showing up a week later. The service repairman was very friendly but came completely unprepared and was ready to walk out the door when I brought it to his attention that he hadn't even checked the ice maker, which was one of the main reasons he was there. The other was the water inlet valve in the back of the refer. Jumping ahead repairman said he order the parts but that the refer was old (7yrs) and I might not be able to get all the parts for it. Sad.

I'm waiting almost two weeks and hear nothing from R.E. I call them back and they say they can't get the ice maker anymore (no longer available). I went online and found the part myself at repairclinic.com. I called R.E. back and said they could get the part from repairclinic. R.E. told me they only order parts from approved suppliers through LG. I called LG and they said they would authorize the purchase, and let R.E. know to go ahead and order the parts. In the meantime I'm still making phone calls both to R.E. and L.G. really getting nowhere. Assurant has already charged my credit card twice ($250 now), and nothing has yet to remedy my broken refer 6 wks later. R.E. never calls back and I always had to call them.

Collette from R.E. told me the part was on its way but she didn't have a tracking number and that we would just have to wait to hear from her again. She told me not to call again because she would call me (that never happened). So now after at least two working days on the phone, on hold more than half the time, I decided to cancel my insurance policy. I call LG and they said they would charge me $100 and refund the rest. They said this was to pay for the service call to my house by the repairman. I received really no service at all, and I'd be a fool to keep playing phone tag with two companies that obviously have no intentions of making it right. I believe R.E. was being spiteful that I went above their heads and found the part I needed from another company. (Prior, R.E. insisted to me that the parts could no longer be obtained because the part was no longer manufactured.)

They just did not want to do their job and that's incompetence as far as I'm concerned. What a win fall for R.E. All the repairman does is show up and he gets paid. LG should refund all my money for the trouble I have been put through. A refrigerator that cost me about $2400 should last (in my book) at least 10 yrs before something goes wrong with it. LG mindset, it's time to buy a new one in 6 to 7 yrs. What a shame and what happened to pride in the products we buy in the USA? Wasteful! Wasteful! Wasteful! I shall go on to order the parts myself and try to repair my refrigerator. What happened to the days when you would call a repairman and he would have the parts in his truck and he'd fix it right then and there?

On 4/14 I contacted LG Direct Service regarding my refrigerator not cooling. The refrigerator was no longer under warranty so they suggested some local service providers. At this point the service rep offer me a service contract for the unit, explaining that I would have a 60 day service contract for a cost of $365.04 and they would send a technician out to fix the unit on 4/17 between 8:00 am and 12:00. On 4/17 the technician was a no show. I contacted LG Direct Service regarding the matter. That had no answer for me and kept referring me to Assurance, who apparently is a third party to actually held the service contract that I thought I got from LG Direct Services. This whole time I had been dealing directly with LG as implied by the name.

In any event, Assurance informed me that he was only service provider in my area, and that they would send another request to him. So I was told now that the technician would be arriving between 8-12:00 on 4/19. LG Provided me with the number of the provider so I attempted to contact him on 4/18 in an effort to confirm the appointment. After numerous attempts with no answer other than a recording with a full mailbox, I contacted LG Direct Service again. I explained that I could not contact the provider and needed to have this appointment confirmed. They attempted to contact the provider but had the same response that I did.

After 2 hours of mostly being on hold listen to a recording tell me over and over again that they know how valuable my time is, I am informed that the guy will not be coming tomorrow. He rejected the request for the service. It turns out he rejected the first request for service as well. So the appointment that LG Direct Service told me I had, never even existed. No phone call or e-mail to let me know. So I took off of work for no reason. Had I not called on 4/18, the same thing would have happened. Now LG just keeps trying to pass the buck onto Assurance. LG tells me that the technician that didn't show is the only one they have in my area even though they had already given me the names of three other service providers. The fact is he is the only one that is on the Assurance list of providers. As a result they now say they can no longer repair my refrigerator. So instead of paying $365.04 for the repair it is now going to cost $900.

LG totally misrepresented the service contract of actually being an LG product. I have repeatedly asked LG to stand by the contract they sold me and get another authorized repairman to fix it. They have gone so far as to tell me that they don't have anyone who can make the repair in my area. It should be against the law to sell you a product under the representation that it is their product and not a third party's. The only people I spoke with and was invoiced by was LG Direct Service and they should have to make do on the contract and get my refrigerator fixed and not just offer to cancel the contract and return my money and then have to pay more to someone else. Just for the fact that between time off of work and the 4 hrs plus I have spent on the phone with them should be enough to make them want to do right by the customer.

Purchased an LG refrigerator appx 4 years ago. Stopped working, not cooking. Called numerous repair providers to see if they can fix. Nobody I can find would look at LG product. Called LG directly to see if they can find someone that I can call. Ended up purchasing an out of warranty contract through LG called Assurant. For 2 months now I have had a non-working refrigerator. I have had numerous providers get scheduled to come to my home only for them to not show leaving me having to keep calling Assurant. I was advised by Assurant that it is from LG that they get the list of service providers so they have no way of knowing anything about them except the location to my home.

Finally 2 months later and 3 service providers I was informed that my refrigerator was going to cost too much for LG to repair and they would total it out. The coolant system was shot along with the compressor. When you call to check the status of getting this taken care of I am told that they do not have anyone certified to fix the coolant system. But I was granted permission to find my own service provider to come out and fix it but the catch... not only would I have to pay out of pocket, while the provider was at my home I had to call Assurant and have the provider speak to them in order for them to reimburse me for services. I said that was unacceptable. A supervisor informed me that since the refrigerator is less than 7 years old and it's the sealant system, LG would be responsible for replacing it.

Again, I get on the phone with LG to file a claim for a defected item. After 4 days of not hearing anything I called today Only to be told by 2 supervisors that they can't do anything. I was given the option to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed but they denied my claim to have it replaced. Didn't matter what I said, the customer service at LG has the most disrespectful people.

I am not in a position to pay $1200 out of pocket to try and get reimbursed and all they can say was, "I can't help you." They do not want to acknowledge the fact that their product is defected and the sealant/coolant system is not working. They can provide names to me but won't pay for it because under my contract that they sold me, nobody is certified to do the work. So how am I supposed to have this fixed?? I have 3 kids and my husband needs to keep his medication refrigerated.

So for 2 months after purchasing a contract, I have been keeping food cold in a cooler with ice. Totally unacceptable. All LG can say is "sorry I do apologize ". After just speaking to one of ten supervisors at LG, and stating that I will be contacting the better business bureau and consumer affairs she said, "Go ahead, do what you want." Like I need her permission? No I need them to stand behind their product which they do not. So now I am told I can cancel my contract in writing and since they can't help me, they will refund all of $100 of the amount I paid. Still leaves me with no refrigerator and nobody at LG willing or able to look at something that is defected unless I choose to pay out of pocket. Absolutely absurd. This company is the worst. I am so sorry I ever purchased a product from them and what's even worse is the horrible customer service.

I've read so many negative reviews about LG refrigerators not working that this seems superfluous but I need to vent. We purchased a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer 3 years ago during a kitchen remodel. It is a counter-depth with water and ice in the door. About 6 weeks ago, the refrigerator stopped cooling. We put a thermometer inside and the temperature was 57 degrees. We contacted our retailer, Abt, who immediately sent out a tech person and determined, with the assistance of LG tech, that the freezer fan wasn't working. The part was ordered, new fan installed, and the refrigerator temperature remained at 57 degrees. We called Abt again, tech came out and again, with the help of the LG tech, determined it was now the refrigerator fan. Part ordered, part replaced, temp still 57. Abt ordered a new control board, at the suggestion of LG tech, part ordered, couldn't be installed because it was the wrong part.

We finally contacted LG. After long waits, requests to speak to managers, etc., we were finally referred to their Executive Services. I'm guessing that this department handles difficult situations (or difficult people, although I haven't been difficult until now, 7 weeks later). LG sent out their tech. Tech announced that the refrigerator was installed improperly because it fit too tightly in the cabinetry. Ok, this is a counter-depth, built-in refrigerator. Huh?

So, LG Executive Services was called again. We asked for the installation manual and were directed to the online version. While the Exec. Services person (Tish) was on the phone, we read, aloud and together, the specs which stated the unit needs 1/8" on either side and minimum of 2" from the wall to the back of the refrigerator. The unit was installed properly. Tish insisted that it isn't and made me wait while she chatted with "Engineering." Apparently, Engineering stated that there needed to be 1" on top for air flow. I asked Tish how I would have known that since it's not published in the installation manual and I want a copy of that. 8 days have gone by and I've not received anything. When I followed up today with Jenna, she said that, because I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the engineers will send the info to the BBB and they will respond to me. REALLY???

Between the dates of April 4th and today, April 11th, I've exchanged 12 emails with Marianne, at Executive Services, to no end. LG tech came out, again, with a 2nd tech at 7:30 PM! After much discussion, they determined it must be the control board or the sealed system. The control board was ordered and installed. Our interior refrigerator temperature is now 61 degrees from 57!! What a joke. So... today I spoke to 3 people at Executive Services: Tamica (totally useless), Willie and Jenna. Jenna seemed to at least want to do something. I shared that our daughter is getting married in 4 days, we are having a 40 person brunch on Easter Sunday, and I have no freaking refrigerator.

The latest is... Jenna contacted the Tech Department and they want to put in a datalogger to clarify the issue. I asked what that meant, she didn't know. I asked how long it would be in the fridge, she didn't know. She said she sent an email to the tech engineer, tech manager, and Tech Support manager asking these questions. Do you think the problem with getting anything done has to do with too much weight at the top? Anyway, we have an appointment Thursday so the tech can put in a datalogger, whatever the hell it does.

I can't even describe the frustration and anger held towards this company. I would have given them a 1 because, obviously, their products aren't meant to last, but some of the folks at Executive Services and our tech have been nice and most seem to want to help. I wouldn't recommend LG products to anyone, ever, unless they want to be totally frustrated and throw money out of the window. Our previous refrigerator lasted 19 years and it was a Whirlpool... no brainer.

[Updated on 04/20/2017] Felt my previous review needed updating and lowered my rating from 2* to 1. I still don't have a functioning refrigerator. Jenna, at LG, promised the datalogger, which never happened. After she contacted their tech people, they deemed my refrigerator 'installed improperly', again, and said 'sorry, we can't help you'. So, after sending out their techs 4 times, replacing the motherboard, ordering the sealed unit, this is their decision? The unit is installed in accordance with the installation manual on line. Their engineers came up with different specs. Coincidentally, their 'cant fix it' edict came on the heels of my response to their response to my complaint to the Better Business Bureau.

Hmmmm... After reading the 1700+ complaints about LG products, the majority being refrigerators, Ive decided to take this further. I am contacting my local news station, newspaper and the Attorney General, if need be. PLEASE... EVERYONE WHO IS OR HAS EXPERIENCED THE LACK OF SERVICE, and refrigeration, from LG, TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL. LET'S GET THIS CRAPPY COMPANY OUT OF OUR STORES.

Still under warranty my refrigerator stopped working after five months. I've had repair people at my house eight times now in a four month period. Today the repair person walked into my house without knocking or ringing the doorbell. My dog stopped him about 5 feet from the front entrance way. The service call for today was for the repair person to tell me only that the part is on order. Again LG wasted my time. I asked the repair person, "Why did you come to my house to tell me this, you could've called!!!" The customer service and the repair people at LG are not trained and do not know how to handle the customers nor does the company know how to stand by their product.

I am asking my credit card company to dispute the charge because LG sold me a product that does not work. LG is now lying. Setting appointments without my knowledge. Their documentation is not correct and they say I am canceling my appointment. Executive desk also lies and makes up information and incorrect documentation. One person said that she would send me $150 for my food replacement. Later found out that's no such policy. My refrigerator stopped working December 2016 and it is now beginning of April 2017. My Refrigerator is still broke.

Our LG refrigerator is only 18 months old and has broken down three times. The first time, LG repaired within the first year. Second time occurred three weeks ago. The warranty company contracted a local appliance repair company to come out. They came out and diagnosed the issue, then said they needed to order a new compressor and should take three to five days. On day three, I call the company to find out status of compressor. They indicate it had not yet arrived.

I call every day after that for another week and could not get anyone to answer the phone. My wife and I are both professionals and do not have time to deal with a fridge company. On day eleven or so, I file a complaint on Better Business Bureau website. Less than twenty minutes later, I get a call. Company comes out to install the new compressor a day later. Repair guy says it is fixed and leaves. Later that day, I again noticed the fridge was not working. Fridge is still broken!!! Now another lost work day and more time on the phone and internet wasting my time dealing with a terrible LG Product! There has to be legal recourse with so many complaints. I bet the majority of us have the same model. LG needs to be held accountable for selling a $2500 piece of junk!

I entered the product info on their website, and was eligible for repair. I received a text telling me to go to their website. Called their number again, and got a recording to go to their website. Entered info. They sent me a text telling me what they just told me. I went online and called their # in Alabama. They transferred me to a guy in South Korea. The guy in South Korea gave me a number of a service center in Trenton. Called the number in Trenton and listened to a recording that said I was next in line and it would be a 3 minute wait. Was on hold for 35 minutes. I was then disconnected. Checked their website and hours said 10:00am - 6:00pm. Called back and recording said they closed at 5:00pm. Filled out a service request online and submitted.

Bottom line is this. LG, the brand: They make ** products. They have ** service. I wouldn't buy a toaster from these ** idiots. My suggestions to you: If you use the AC unit, make sure you are there the whole time. If you use it, take note of its efficiency or any quirks. Unplug it if it makes you feel more comfortable. When I'm back I will take it down to Trenton for repair. If this repair circus continues, I will drop it off with your unused TVs at some salvage place so I can at least get a donation receipt. I purchased a LG French Door refrigerator in November 2015. It is approximately 17 months old. I was told I needed to purchase a "service" contract for > $400 in order to get "service". I waited all day this past Friday for "service" and no one showed up. I waited on the phone in excess of 1.75 hours! The call was abruptly ended with "You have called after service hours". I called back and was told to call again on Saturday regarding my repair. WOW the "service" department was closed on Saturday. Monday arrives and a repairmen appears on Tuesday after Monday's call... HOWEVER the repairman only repeated what I was told last week... "You need a compressor .. and I don't have one". "You will need to wait 8-10 days for the parts." LG IS NOT WORTH the time nor money invested! I want my SAMSUNG back.

Updated on 05/02/2017: As I have explained previously, my LG French Door refrig remains on the blink. When I first reported the issues to LG, I was advised to purchase their extended warranty. WHAT they did not tell me is that the sealed unit that was at fault remained covered under their already in place 7-year warranty. Now for the update... The refrig remains on the blink and after a technician has been to my residence x3 and he as engaged in a conversation with the "main guy" (Ruben), LG refuses to replace the unit as they remain unable to fix the unit. Sadly, they refuse to honor either the standard warranty and the "extended" warranty that specifies if unable to repair they will replace. And by the way, this was after being placed on hold for more than 3 hours and then having a disconnection message stating that they were NOW closed for the day and call back tomorrow!

I have a 31 cu ft. French Door LG refrigerator that I spent a lot of money on over 4 years ago and the compressor suddenly went out. Luckily I have a warranty for 10 years for major components, but lo and behold it does not cover labor. The 45 minutes of labor was $600. I am shocked for several reasons: I can't believe an expensive appliance less than 5 years old would have a compressor which needs replacement, it's unbelievable to have to pay $600 in labor for 45 minutes of work although I have a warranty. I also own an LG Steam Washer/Front Loader and matching dryer. The washer also needed repairs (which I had to pay parts and labor for) after a couple of years of ownership. These are definitely the LAST LG appliances, electronics, etc I purchase. In the future, I hope to find a company who cares about their customers and stands by their products.

Please be a prudent shopper when buying this unit. We purchased this refrigerator (LG Linear Compressor Refrigerator) two years ago and paid about $1000 extra for a counter depth unit. That brought the price just close to $3700.00. I did not get the warranty because I thought it would last at least five years. Nope. The Error Code E-IF comes on at least once a month. The refrigerator went in "bad order" about six months after we bought it. Luckily the year warranty was still good. Just about every month now, I have to use a hair dryer and defrost the unit so my family can get ice and water through the door. That is not good for a unit of this price.

At first, I would pull the unit out and unplugging it for at least four hours. That is not good when the thing weighs a ton and it has to sit in the middle of the kitchen. I have now found a YouTube video of another customer that uses a lady's hair dryer to defrost the unit. I have began using a hair dryer to defrost the unit as well. It is much faster. Searching the internet, I have found other people who reported this is not a great unit to buy and they too have had many problems. LG should issue a recall or reach out to the many customers who have complained about this unit. I think that will go a long way to making the consumer happy. Again, it is the ice maker that is horrible.

UPDATE on 04/08/2017: I had a service person come out and they told me my electronics board and the fan at the bottom of the unit needed replacing. Mind you, we have had this unit (LG Linear Compressor Refrigerator) less than five years. The technician said company recommended a new board and a new ice fan. The board only cost .74 cents. That is right.. Only 74 cents. I find that strange. Seems to me that board was bad. The Ice Fan was a tad more costly. Anyway the job came up to over $300 to repair. Issue one. I had to wait for the electronics board and the fan to arrive. The next service date that I could get was six days from the initial visit. So, I had no ice and water through the door. We survived. We knew that the unit would be fixed in a couple days.

Six days later (yesterday) the technician comes out and installs the parts. Refrigerator worked well for ONE day. Just looked at it and a different Error Code is on R-DH. Are you kidding me? This thing cost too much to have all these problems. The fix for this is to unplug the unit and then allow it to reset. So, I have to pull it out from the wall again. How many times, I can could. Maybe I should keep track. I will do this. If it does not work, LG website suggests a service call. Wow.

I purchased a $3000 French door LG refrigerator 7/2015 from Best Buy (Model#LMXS30776S) and 20 months later the compressor failed according to the LG authorized repairman ($80 service call). "You need a new compressor. Good news: It is covered by the warranty for 7 years. Bad news: labor is not covered and it will cost you $600." Looking at ConsumerAffairs.com I am in good company. There are 1766 complaints re the LG refrigerators, many about defective compressors failing in less than two years. A call to LG customer service (Philippines) they offered to submit my case for review to cover labor due to their extensive compressor problems and only 20 months old unit. Next day, sorry for the inconvenience, but too bad Charlie, no can do.

The LG refrigerator is a high end pretty box but has an extensive history of maintenance issues that even when corrected do not provide long term results. The cost of repairs is inflated by having to use their authorized repair tech to get the warranted parts, but you pay through the nose for the labor. The availability of the service is often a week out, they need to make two trips because they don't carry the parts, often the parts are not available due to factory back order, and that will generate another $80 service call.

I complained to Michael Finney at 7 On Your Side at (415) 954-8151 to see if they are interested. If you have a similar problem, you might do so also. My Next call is to the Federal Trade Commission and the State Attorney General Office. LG is a South Korean company and their products are marketed by Best Buy, Sears, Home Depot, and Lowe's to mention a few.

I would avoid purchasing anything with a LG label until they get their act together. Read the other complaints on LG refrigerators before you buy to see if you feel comfortable taking a chance on not experiencing a problem. The 5star ratings are almost all from customers that just got their refrigerator, the 1star ratings are like mine by customers that experience warranty problems after just one year. Grrrrrr!

We purchased an LG fridge in November. Soon we noticed water puddling on top of the freezer door (bottom freezer model). Then we noticed that the water was freezing on the outside of the ice maker bucket, and that the ice cubes were melting then freezing together. When we used a blowdryer to melt some of the ice so we could remove the ice bucket, the melted water ran out, not from the dispenser as we would expect, but from all the seams in the door.

On February 9th, I sent in a repair request. The provider I was given (which took a couple of days to receive) was unprofessional and after giving my address, told me they had no availability in my area and to find someone else and hung up. On February 14th, I received two more service providers' contact info. One of them never answered my repeated calls. The other one informed me that they only serviced a neighboring county.

Around February 21, I received another service provider's contact info, and a service appointment was set up for March 1, between 8 am and noon. I took the morning off work. When the technician had not arrived by 12:30, I called the service provider who said they would contact the technician and get back to me. I was called back in a few minutes and was told the technician was stuck in traffic and would be at my home by 1 pm. At 1:15, he had still not arrived and I called the service again. She said she would call him again and get back to me. This time when she called back, she said he did not answer his phone and she that she left him a voicemail.

When he finally showed up, around 2:30, he said that he had been running a little behind. After looking at the ice maker, he told me this was a common problem with this model of fridge and we would need a whole new door, which might or might not fix the problem, and someone would be in touch with me within 24 hours to set up an installation date and time.

Nine days later, I got the call and an appointment was scheduled for March 13th, again between 8 am and noon. Again, I took the morning off work. Again, the technician did not arrive till after 2 pm. He did install a new door, said we were all set and left. And now the ice maker does not work at all. So far, I've missed two days work, dealt with 4 incompetent and unprofessional service providers authorized by LG. I've read many reviews praising LG products, but frankly all the reviews for their customer service are very negative (wishing we had checked those out and not just the product reviews when we purchased the appliances in November).

I scheduled an appointment and took a half day off to have them come to diagnose the problem. They cancelled the appointment 15 minutes before they were supposed to show up. I rescheduled another appointment for another time (again taking another 1/2 day off) for them to say "Yup it is the compressor" and to say "Now we have to order it". Third time (again taking a half day off) they came, took out the compressor, turned to me and say that the compressor in the box was the wrong one and that they would have to come AGAIN.

First, if you work, then it is better to purchase another fridge since they only work monday through friday and if you would have worked instead of taking time off you will have made enough money to buy another fridge. It will be cheaper. Second, DO NOT purchase an LG appliance. They are horrible about their warranties and they probably do this purposely so that they do no not need to make good on their product. In speaking with LG to set that up, there is only one certified technician in the area. Called them twice to set up an appointment, they never returned the call. In addition, the compressor and all the moving parts are covered by a 7 or 10 year warranty depending on what it is. LG tried to sell me another one-year warranty for $475.00. Searched the reviews on the fridge we have, all of them stated problems with service (i.e., taking off of work to meet the repairman multiple times) only to have the fridge do the same thing within a six month period.

Long story short - we went and bought a Whirlpool (made in the USA). BUYER BEWARE, stay away from LG. It does not stand for Life is Good - it stands for Lotsa Grief! I will never buy an LG product of any type - their customer service is beyond awful, their products are not top quality even though you pay a wheelbarrow full of money for them. So my food is spoiled (have a $250 food spoilage coverage) which will replace about 10-25% of the spoiled food and I will have waited 2 weeks without a refrigerator because even though they know this part is likely to go bad -no technician carries it. I will not buy another LG product but I made the mistake of buying an LG washer and dryer and I probably won't have long to wait until they go bad also.

On July 10, 2016 we purchased an LG refrigerator model # LFX25973D and serial # 602TRRC1Q486. I am disappointed because the product does not work properly. I have contacted LG multiple times and cannot get a satisfactory resolution to our problems. My first contact with LG was to fix an ice maker issue. LG dispatched a repairman on September 27, 2016. They adjusted the temperature and checked the ice chute, but this did not solve the issue so I called them and they came back out on 10/5/16. We had to call LG back to reschedule another repair order and the repairman was dispatched again on 10/18/16.

They ordered 2 parts for the refrigerator, a dispenser ice door and a dispenser motor. The motor was shipped, but the ice door was not available at the time. We waited a couple of weeks and had not heard back from LG so we called them again and told them the work had not been completed due to not having the parts requested. They told us they would reissue another work order. We were expecting the same company to come back out but several days later a different company called to schedule an appointment and they came out on 11/25/16 and determined that they needed to replace the left door. The door was ordered and they came back out on 12/7/16 to do the warranty work.

Around the end of December during the Christmas holiday the ice maker started acting up again and due to the holiday activities we held off calling LG until after the first of the year. During the 1st week of January we noticed that ice was starting to form on food in the refrigerator so we called LG again and told them that the ice maker was still not working properly and that there was another issue with food freezing in the refrigerator. We were told to adjust the temperature up in the refrigerator a little to avoid freezing and that someone would be dispatched for the ice maker again. We were getting frustrated at this point and requested that we get a replacement, however we were told that was not an option and that they needed to try to repair not replace the appliance.

Each time we had to call there was a 3-5 day period of time to schedule the appointment and then another 3-5 days if parts were ordered, but this particular time we had not heard from a repairman for almost 2 weeks so we called the repair company to see if a work order had been scheduled and they told me that it had not. We called LG again to find out what the holdup was and we were informed that no work order had been scheduled and they would issue one, but it would take another 3-5 days to get it scheduled. I let them know that the refrigerator was not working at all and we lost all the food in our refrigerator due to freezing, including the new water filter that we just installed. LG did send me 2 new water filters to replace the cracked one.

On February 3, 2017 we received a call from the 3rd different appliance repair company to come out and look at the refrigerator. When he arrived I told him all the issues we had been having and he determined that it needed a new main board to fix the issue of the temperature in the refrigerator and noted that the sensor was not replaceable. He did not look at the ice maker and said all ice makers have issues with ice freezing together and that I should just periodically open the ice door and shake the tray. He came back out on February 8, 2017 and installed the main board and informed me that if this didn't fix the problem not to call him again because he would not know what else to do.

We set a bowl of water in the refrigerator just to check it out and it was frozen in the morning so I called LG again and was told they would schedule another repair order. Once again I asked if they could just give us a replacement instead of trying to fix this appliance as I had no confidence that this appliance would ever be fixed and that I had no intentions of paying for service calls after my warranty expired in about 5 months. Once again I was informed that this was not an option and that they needed to get the repairman on the phone with their field technicians to solve the problem.

On February 14, 2017 the 4th different repairman was sent to look at our refrigerator. This time they took the refrigerator apart and at first told me that he felt like it could not be fixed. He said that the damper was staying open allowing the freezer air to reach the refrigerator, but he called LG's Field Support and they supposedly walked him through it and thought that it had fixed the problem. At this point he could not check the ice maker issue since we could not get any water to the door because of the frozen water lines. When he left I put another bowl of water in the refrigerator and several hours later noticed that ice was starting to form in the bowl and that now the refrigerator was showing an error message of F5 on the door. I went online to chat with LG about what the error message was and I was informed that it meant that the freezer sensor was bad and would need repair service.

I immediately called LG again and told them that I wanted a refund or a replacement and was put off again. The supervisor told me that if I would hold on she would contact the repairman. When she came back online with me she told me that the repairman couldn't find anything wrong with my unit, we called her out on this and said, "One of you is lying to us, because he was here for about 3 hours and thoroughly discussed all the issues he saw." Then she said that he didn't find anything that needed parts replaced and that she had dispatched him to come back out first thing in the morning of the 15th to address the error message. I was expecting a call the next day, but never received one so I called the repairman myself and he told me that he had not been dispatched yet. He asked me if I wanted him to come by to look at it and I told him with all the issues that we've had with LG that without a work order not to come.

I called LG back and told them once again that a work order that was supposed to have been issued was not and that I was not interested in any more service calls and that I wanted a replacement. I was once again told that it wasn't an option so I informed the supervisor that their warranty said repair or replace and that after 8 service calls and fooling around with this issue since September that I felt like we had given LG ample opportunity to repair our refrigerator. I closed our conversation by letting her know that if they were not going to replace the refrigerator that I would seek resolution through the court system.

On 2/15/17 I spoke with an executive supervisor at LG to let them know that I had filed the suit because I had not received any satisfaction from LG's Customer Service Department. She sent me a link so I could send her a copy of my receipt which I did thinking that maybe she would take care of replacing the appliance and I would drop the lawsuit, however we have had no further communications to this point.

Still didn't work. The second visit fixed a leak and installed a new PCB board. That was on 2-17-17. Guess what 3 days later still not fixed... It seems the designers have never used the product. Now a year later the water line from the valve to the icemaker is splitting and ruined our kitchen cabinets. This have never happened with any other refrigerator in over 40 years except for LG. Absolute crap materials and workmanship.

$3,000 5-yr.-old top of the line LG refrigerator still not fixed after 5 weeks! Horrible customer service! LG has not been able to repair it in 5 weeks with 6 visits from repairman. BTW: ONLY PARTS are covered by LG warranty, not labor. If your LG fridge breaks the day after you buy it, YOU pay for labor, and each call involves a minimum of two visits by repairman - one to look at it so he can order parts (they keep nothing in stock) and at least one return to try to fix it.

The repairman suggested on his FIRST visit that we BUY A NEW REFRIGERATOR, before he even ordered the new compressor. They do not want to honor warranty. They want you to give up and buy a new appliance! He actually said refrigerators do not last more than 5 years! My son in law has spent hours on the phone (mostly on hold) trying to arrange repairs, been transferred to departments that are closed, been told to call back tomorrow (when departments are closed), and been told that the earliest available repair appointment was 4 weeks away! He has been hung up on. He has been told that they cannot access his records and that the only department that can access his records is not open today (Friday). The repairman suggested more than once that we buy a new refrigerator instead of requiring LG to honor their warranty. Who spends $3,000 on a fridge they expect to last only 5 years?

Bought French Door fridge with ice and water dispenser about 18 months ago. Had minor problems, but were able to solve them. Today, at 5pm when my service provider is gone until Monday morning, the refrigerator started to emit a burning rubber/Teflon-like smell along with a chemical smell that is sort of sweet. Hard to describe, but it has given me a headache. We pulled the fridge out from its niche and dusted the vents, which we do every couple of months anyway. The smell is still there but it seems to have abated because we opened the windows (it's 20 degrees outside so now I have a headache AND I am freezing). According to the door panel, the temperature in both freezer and fridge is constant and not dropping or rising, so that is good.

Does anyone have similar experiences and do you know what it might be? I was able to get hold of someone from the company I bought it from - I bought an extended warranty from them - and he said he had no idea what it could be and he's never heard of anything like that on an LG. Said that it might be dust or dog hair - NOPE. I am afraid to leave it plugged in when we go to bed. Anyone have any suggestions?

When I contacted them I had been told that LG will send a person to review the issue. But the repair person showed up from Total Global (sub Contracted by LG) and advised that compressor is the issue and not repairable. Since we paid for new fridge I don't want repairing by changing new compressor and requested a new fridge as replacement. There were no follow up calls or update. I made several calls to their customer service department and been told only solution that we have to repair and awful customer service representative telling me to listen to her. My argument is we paid for a new fridge and need to be replaced not repaired.

Totally disappointed. I am not at all satisfied with the LG products especially the electronic home appliances. Whenever I choose to buy LG products, I've always regretted for my choice. Firstly I had purchased a 2-door refrigerator and within the same season the problem arose with its freezer and then gradually the problem passed on to the condenser. Summer season without having a proper refrigerator in a proper working condition, we suffered a lot. No proper repairing was done. Customer care was least concerned in fixing the problem and at last I'd to sell it out as scrap.

Then after 3 years we again made the choice to purchase a front load washing machine and after 3 years of its purchase we had file a complaint in the customer care. The most amusing thing happened was that the customer care officer asked us to first repair it on my own and if not done then the engineer will visit my place to look for the problem. After 2-3 complaints finally when their engineer came they took the machine to their service center and didn't returned it after 2 weeks. How I managed that only I know.

So what I have realized till now is that the LG products are not for long use purpose. And more upon LG's after sales service is so bad. Even after a chain of reminders they are least concerned about solving the problem instead they harass the customer. One more thing no one should never go for AMC. It would be a total waste of money. We purchased this fridge about 4 years ago. From the start it had a manufacturing defect on the water hose that supplies water for drinking. It would drip down the front of the fridge after you got water out of it. They came out and replaced the whole door, but would not replace the stainless steel lever that had gotten stained from their defect. Then it started to give us ice with what looked like dandruff, I have not been the 1st person to complain about this. All it needs is a new ice tray but have to buy the whole assembly.

The door since day one has had moisture collecting on it, bad door seals I am suspecting. You close the left door and the right one pops open. This thing is a piece of garbage, and I got the same don't care attitude with their customer service as others have noted on here. We also have an above stove microwave, 2 went out right out of warranty, not even a month past. LG means life is good for them, cause by time you find out you bought a piece of crap it is too late. I also wish I could post a picture of what the ice tray looks like, it grew some yellow hard something or other on it. Very gross to say the least. It seems to me all they care about is making a sale, but not taking care of the customer after purchase. I will never ever ever ever buy LG again.

We purchased an LG lsxs26326s side by side refrigerator (as well as a microwave, oven & dishwasher as we remodeled our kitchen) in April 2015. On Dec 16, 2016 it had stopped cooling. Fortunately, we have a 20+ yr old Kenmore in the basement we were able to move all the food to. Had our own repairman come out Sunday to see what the problem was. Determined the compressor in our ONE AND A HALF YEAR OLD refrigerator had gone out.

Now, this part has a TEN YEAR warranty through LG (hm, maybe that should have told us something) HOWEVER, only the PART is covered NOT labor. Sunday night I call LG Service and after a very long and frustrating discussion with someone who barely spoke English, I was informed a Letter of Authorization would be sent by email to our repairman so he could order the part. I requested a rush on that letter as it was a week until Christmas & we had family coming from out of town.

Monday, no letter. Tuesday, still no letter. I call again Tuesday night and am informed they tried calling the repairman and got no answer or return call (I know this is a lie as I spoke with them that day to confirm contact from LG). At this point, I demand to have the matter escalated and to speak to a manager. I get put on hold for a while and FINALLY get a manager, whom I might add speaks English clearly (YAY). She proceeds to tell me something completely different than I was told by the previous two reps. Stating they have to talk to the tech while they are at the refrigerator and able to guide them through what to check. THEN, once diagnosed as the compressor the letter of authorization would be sent so the tech could order the part, which would take 3-5 DAYS to receive!!!

Now, I am getting angry. She tells me they had available techs on the 20th, 21st & that day (22nd) so I could have just had their tech come out and diagnose it and they would have had the compressor the next day. I told her there was no way in hell I was paying THEIR techs an arm & a leg to fix the refrigerator I purchased a YEAR & HALF ago when my guy was only charging me $60/hr!!! Her response was simply "OH". Finally, she send the letter of authorization by email while still on the phone with me. Wednesday morning, I call my tech & they have the email (THANK GOD). They order the part. Thankfully, it comes on Thursday and our guy comes out that evening to replace it.

Now, a month later, we are having problems with the ice maker not making ice. UGH!!! I wish we would have just gone with different appliances. I will NEVER EVER EVER purchase another LG product. Purchasing these appliances has literally been a nightmare. They should have paid us to take them for what we have been through with all these appliances!

I called LG in July when it continued jamming several times a week - sometimes numerous times a day!!! I was told to be sure the temp was set correctly and the fridge was level. I did all these things, but it continued jamming all summer long.

Since August 2016, I have spent hundreds of hours on the phone - one service company (A & E Factory Repair) came out and their "solution" was to put Vaseline around the sealer surrounding the icemaker and door. I am now calling every few days, put on hold or disconnected, and am getting ZERO help from the Executive Support team in Alabama. First, the product is clearly DEFECTIVE and no one seems to care enough to make this their personal mission to get repaired.

Here's who has taken my call and "promised" to call back with a Service Appointment: July-August 2016 Called LG Service numerous times in July and August: 1-800-243-0000 and complained about icemaker jamming and dripping. 9/22 - called Customer service who would schedule service and call me back. Never heard back. 11/11 - called again to inquire about service and was told I'd hear back. 11/26 - Noel in Manila assigned me Case **, which was given to Cape Fear. 12/5 - I called Cape Fear to inquire the service date and was told they can't come until 12/16 - but I am out of town that whole week. So Tamika in Huntsville ALA got a service company to come 12/14. 12/8 - Pauline in Manila said she could not help as there are only two repair shops and the second one (AppTech - 910-358-8456) said they don't come to my town. They are four hours away.

12/14 - Vaseline applied by A&E Appliance Repair - two days later the icemaker jammed and remained jammed until 12/23 when I returned home. 12/30 - Spoke with Russ in Manila - can't get me a repair auth until he reaches Cape Fear Appliance Service although Russ kept trying to call them for over an hour while I was on hold. I finally called Cape Fear and listened to the recording (they were closed for the holiday) and told Russ they were closed. Called again and asked to speak to US - got Brenda in ALA. Executive Supervisor Dept. She promised to personally deal with the problem but never called me back.

1/17/2017 - Tori in ALA said Brenda's manager on 1/6 found an appt for 1/20 with Cape Fear Appliance, but that manager never called me and gave me the choice - he just figured it was too long to wait so he did nothing - was trying to find quicker service. Tori was checking on progress and while on hold I was disconnected. Tori never called back.

1/23 - Willy in ALA said the Locator Dept is trying to get speedier service (I explained the 1/20 service call would now be great) - Willi promised to call me back by Tues 1/24 - as Locator Team might take a few days to locate repair service. 1/25 Willi never called me back and I spoke with Mark - ext. ** in ALA. She insisted she was not Willi nor Tori and would INDEED call me back the SAME DAY. She never called back either. 1/30 (TODAY) Tish spoke with Mary who is in the same department. She spent over 20 minutes reading back to me all the notes of my customer service contact and she apologized profusely but assures me SOMEONE from LOCATOR will call me back.

LIARS and CHEATS - and the ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I HAVE EXPERIENCED IN DECADES! You decide!! Is a really great refrigerator worth this type of headache! We purchased this refrigerator at Lowes in June, 2015 for $1,622.60. I thought I did my research on buying this new appliance. Early January, 2017 I knew something was wrong with the freezer, so I transferred the freezer compartment contents to our 30-year old Kenmore freezer in the garage.

We called support and did a smart diagnosis and talked to someone and were told that it seems that the freezer door has just been opened and closed too many times. I moved the freezer contents from the 30-year old freezer back into the 1 1/2 year old LG. A week later, the freezer completely stopped freezing. We called support again. We did get repair here that day. (I was afraid to ask why.) The repairman commented that he didn't like to work on LG refrigerators. The compressor needed to be ordered. 6 days later, the compressor was installed (25 minutes). We were charged $540.00 for labor. I guess, in this world, if we get a good appliance, we should consider ourselves lucky. If you get a bad one, good luck with the results. It's just a shame.

Purchased an LG LFX29927ST refrigerator from Home Depot back in July of 2014. Took about 3 months to deliver the product. When I got it, I was happy. All of the sudden a couple of weeks ago the unit is no longer cooling. Every repairman is telling me the compressor went. Less than a 3 year old unit and the compressor fails. Try to call LG. They gave me a list of "authorized" repairmen companies near Phoenix. I call the first one and just got the runaround. He tells me to get LG to fix it. So I call LG back. They want me to spend over 500 dollars on a one year warranty and service repair plan. I tell them, "No, I am not interested in that, I just want to get this thing working again."

The compressor is suppose to have a 10 year warranty. I know I have to pay for labor. So I decide to try to call the others on the list. The second number was a local Phoenix number but they tell me they only service people in the Los Angeles area. Ok, onto the 3rd number. They now don't have a LG-certified repairman available to assist me. LG is still not being any service at all!!! I am going to try to work through Home Depot to see if there is anything I can do. Otherwise, I guess I am out 2500 on a less than 3 year old refrigerator and will have to purchase another one. I keep reading all these other reviews and all the back and forth with this company. I refuse to own another LG product for the rest of my life! I don't care what it is. No LG TV, phone, anything! This company is a joke!

I am the owner of a 2 year old LG French door refrigerator that failed over Thanksgiving. Being it was the holidays, I took to dealing with the matter immediately by contacting LG's customer service department. In the initial conversation, we determined that the issue was likely the compressor, which if true, would be covered under warranty. Learning that an authorized technician was needed to service the appliance I was then given a phone number to a local service dealer in the Scottsdale area. This company did not return my call but, I was able to get through the week after Thanksgiving. They told me that they had only one technician on staff authorized and he was out of town for 3 weeks. This was not acceptable being the holidays and the fact that we had a full house.

Through my own inquiry, I found one repair service willing to work on LG appliances... most would not because they have a pretty bad reputation it appears. The only issue, was that we needed to have him authorized. This I was able to begin through a chat with a member of the LG customer service department, however, the authorization was never put forward I was to discover. This required another online chat, some apologies and eventually a successful authorization for my serviceman.

Now able to open the back of the appliance, indeed it was discovered to be an issue with leaking coolant and a faulty part (parts). Now began the test of getting the parts (under warranty) ordered and delivered to my repairman. The part was ordered and we waited. I requested that someone contact me to let me know when it would arrive. This was wishful thinking. I opened another chat to see where the part was and the LG agent could not find any information and asked for a PON number which I did not have. He said perhaps the part was on back order. To shorten a very long litany of my technician and myself spending hours of precious time getting the runaround with (excuse me) a very incompetent customer service system; my repairman was told after many conversations with the parts dept., that 30 day deadline was expired and we have to start all over again.

So another chat last week resulted in a request for authorization again and I was told a rush request would be made for second authorization. I was also again promised that the agent would keep me posted. Yea right. Having no fridge for the holidays with a houseful of family is frustrating in and of itself and 2K plus fridge should not fail in just two years; add a complete run-around by the folks we trusted with hard earned money with their brand over many other choices on the market, to simply supply a part and authorize and repair completely beside myself.

All I need is a warrantied part, a second authorization (since time expired because of LG inefficiency), an LG customer service person who will see the process through and an attempt by LG to stand by its motto; life is good. I believe all agree that those requests are reasonable. To date I have had 6 chats average 40 minutes each, three long phone calls, a long wait for the supervisor but disconnected after 20 minutes, 4 letter submissions and a technician about to give up because of time lost from numerous calls to the parts department and total frustration. The fridge failed 11-24-16 and today's date is 1-13-17 and zero success. If anyone knows of a way I can pressure these people for one or two damned parts; (that my service guy could have fixed it in one hour two months ago) please let me know.

Customer service is horrible. Their English needs much to be desired. My unit was slow to make ice and was not dumping so they had me put my phone to the sensor. She told me I needed to change it from crushed to cubed? Say... What? Anyway found it is a early sign of compressor failure. Their first question was "Why didn't you get the extended warranty." I guess they have no faith in their product, normally I have no use for those warranties. It seems like, in my case, products are programmed to self-destruct after the warranty expires. I heard some stories but when I purchased it I was told this has a different compressor it and it is not prone to failure. Home Depot lied! The fridge was 18 months old and within 2 weeks of the new compressor I lost refrigerant and I had to call service, they came out right away and repaired it.

Now a week later everything was soft in the freezer again, but they cannot come out until Tuesday. It is 40 degrees in my garage, not cold enough to use as a refrigerator. I lost about 300 dollars in food since Thanksgiving. My old fridge lasted 16 years before it died, and I think it was my fault because I put it in the garage, found out later that not every fridge can be put in a cold area. So what happened to quality control in the day and age? If I was on the board of LG I could not look myself in the mirror putting out a product with this kind of problems.

LG told me they'd send someone out but since the problem is random, if it isn't above zero, they will charge me for the call. INSTEAD of researching what LG has done in the past to fix this problem and just doing that repair, they insist I have to wait until the fridge constantly fails. Which is may or may not. Meanwhile, I can't protect food from freezer burn and spoilage. I called LG. Was disconnected. Called again. was put on hold 15 minutes and was disconnected. Called again. Was told someone would call me back. No one did.

Emailed asking what the fix was for this issue and was told to read the owner's manual and that I had to call their 800 number to talk to a person. The email contained a link to a chat which told me I was not authorized to use. So I have a new refrigerator with a useless freezer and no help from LG. All they need to do is tell me how the problem has been fixed for others. Instead, they not only lost a customer, I will caution others not to deal with LG.

No other problems. It was as if it just needed coolant. We have now been without a refrigerator for 10 days and almost every part has been replaced including the compressor, dryer, refrigerant, and other miscellaneous parts.

Today we learned that they have to order a circuit board. The repair technician has no sense of urgency and seems totally clueless. We called LG Service to let them know what was happening and they had all the records of our 3 repair visits in the last 10 days but were totally unsympathetic and said that we are "stuck" until the repair guy can fix it. We bought the annual service agreement for $465 and expect better service for that kind of money. We have lost hundreds of dollars of food and are living out of a cooler.
