Three separate appointments, three no shows, each time a lame excuse. Fourth appointment I get a text from technician, "Sorry we won't be servicing your area, have a nice day". I will tell anyone that this is not a service you can rely on. TruGreen has nearly 50% of their reviews are just one star. This is not a successful business model and clearly management has no idea how to fix it.

I had my yard aeriated and overseeded on 08/06/2026. During the time of the aeriation the technician had cut my invisible dog fence in five different locations throughout my yard. They didn't bother to stop and tell me what happened. They just finished and left. Called the customer service line and advised them what had happened. They told me to get a repair bill and send it to the email address given to me. It has been back and forth since with them. I think that they are just trying to get out of taking care of the claim. Yard still looks like crap after treatments and overseeding.

How does my grass my grass have more weeds after hiring them than before? I have had TruGreen since 2019. Every year it gets worse and they give me the same sales pitch. We will do better next year. Every year it gets worse.

I signed up with TruGreen in March 2026, and my first four applications were handled by Jason. He did an excellent job. My yard was becoming greener, healthier, and the weeds were steadily disappearing. Unfortunately, things changed after a different technician handled my next service. Shortly afterward, large brown spots appeared throughout my yard. I called TruGreen and requested that someone come out to evaluate the problem. When a representative called me back, I sent him pictures while we were on the phone. Based on those photos, he told me my lawn had a fungus and needed a blanket fungicide treatment. When I asked about the cost, he quoted $230. I felt pressured into accepting the treatment because he warned that my entire lawn could turn brown and die without it. My husband was furious when he heard about the situation and told me to cancel all services. I did exactly that.

Please don't waste your money with TruGreen! They are just awful! My lawn looks worse after a year of service than when they started. Weeds are out of control and grass looks terrible. When you call and ask them to come out they do not give you accurate info and when my year was up, I didn't get any phone calls and they started charging my credit card again with no phone calls. They are nothing but a scam!

Rude and unprofessional serviceman. Complaint called into central number. I was assured the incident would be relayed to the local manager. No call back from management.

Signed up and paid in advance for a year's program for TruGreen to manage my yard...more specifically to control the weeds. I signed up in late summer of 2005, expecting there would be time for pre-emergents to greatly reduce the weeds this 2026 summer. TruGreen has not delivered on their promise...AT ALL! The weeds are as bad as they were before, and no amount of informing the technician has facilitated any change! Evidently, TruGreen follows some recipe, from which they do not deviate. The tech is powerless to do what the yard needs; he just follows directions. Thank God I did not sign up for any other services, like trees, shrubs, or flower beds, as I'm sure they would be another disappointment!!!!! I'll NEVER USE THEM AGAIN, AND YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER!!! Buyer Beware! I did a prepay for a discreet number of treatments. I called them to find out how many treatments I had left on my prepay and they said "one." I said no more after that. After the last treatment they continued to come out and do treatments and charged me automatically! I do not trust this company at all. Do not do business with them. They are cheap and sneaky. All they care about is getting your money by playing games with 'fine print.' They are like cockroaches. Cockroaches continue to show up uninvited. Trugreen continues to spray uninvited and then charge you.

Used TruGreen for a mosquito treatment in 2025 at my daughter's house for her wedding. I asked for a one-time only service, they said okay, treated, I paid, it was great. Out of no where they show up to her house on 7/14/2026 and sprayed. She has chickens, ducks and a huge garden. The last thing she wanted was chemicals sprayed in her yard and then they send me a bill. I told them I didn't request a treatment, nor did my daughter and they asked if I was still going to pay my bill. This is unacceptable and if anything happens to her ducks or chickens, TruGreen will be sued for having come on the property without permission.

Trugreen killed my lawn this year. Used them last year and my lawn was emerald green all season. This year, from the very first treatment, my lawn looked horrible. After 4 treatments, numerous calls and complaints, it now looks dead. They refuse to take responsibility even when the three other homes on my street that use Trugreen all look the same and homes that don't use anyone look great. 100% total rip off, don't waste your money.

Customer service is pleasant. Tech service is incompetent! My property is 15,000 sq. has 360 degrees of video surveillance. The tech was able to service my property in less then 10 mins on the first application. 30 mins before a major rain storm was coming in. Using a drop spreader leaving excessive amounts of fertilizer! Which ended up leaving multiple chemical burns throughout the yard.

I’ve been with Trugreen since they were Scott’s, over three different properties. At my most recent property, I had new sod installed in 2022. In the summer of 2023 and 2024, my sod was looking great! However, over the summer of 2025, the vast majority of my sod died. TrueGreen, when fertilizing it, never took into consideration that it was new sod. Furthermore, they did not change from their fertilizer schedule, nor did they ever discuss it with me in anyway! At the beginning of this summer, when I canceled them because they killed my lawn, they promised me that a manager would come and take a look and discuss it with me. That never happened! They destroyed my lawn, never commented on it while I was still paying for the service, promised me they’d send a manager out to look at it and never did! They have been a DISASTER!

We had TruGreen for over a year and the service is horrible. We have cameras all over our house and have had them come out and not do the back of our house, not do the front section… One time a guy came with a machine, he sat on his phone out front for over 10 minutes, got on his machine, did one line down the yard, and put the machine back on the truck in less than one minute. We sent the video to TruGreen and they sent someone else out, but the fact that we have to call them over and over and over because of services not being completed is crazy. We are also paying over $70/month and have weeds all around the yard. We cancelled the service with them and went with Lawn Dr. TruGreen is not worth the time, hassle, nor money!

Updated on 08/24/2026: As a follow up to my displeasure with this company, they sent out people to look at my yard and did little to correct anything. Last year they applied a bad mixture on the lawn and most of the lawn has never recovered. They take no responsibility for what they did except, they applied Revive on the lawn after that mistake. They did the same this year after my negative post I guess to make us feel better with no results. We are done with them.

If they come to your door, slam it shut. I hired TruGreen the first year we were here in the Villages and had issues the service. I cancelled my service then. After speaking with our rep Rachel ** we decided to give Trugreen another shot. After a couple of treatments my backyard was completely burned. I reached out to Rachel on May 12th and let her know what was going on. I sent her pictures of the yard and she told me that mgmt would contact me soon. On the 15th of May I again reached out to Rachel and was again assured that she would reach out to mgmt and take care of things. On May 20th I again reached out to Rachel to let her know I had not been contacted and my yard was still burned. At that point she basically ghosted me and has never responded.

Very good service today by Mr. Travis **! He was very kind enough not only to leave the report by the door but also waited for me to come out to the door to give me some suggestions on how to manage the mosquitoes. Very impressed with the service. Thank you.

I've enjoyed being a long-time customer of TruGreen services for many years. However, this year has been a nightmare. I've had two instances of technicians that claimed they provide a service when, in fact, they were a no show. On one occasion, I saw the driver leave a note, then simply sat in his vehicle for a few minutes, then drive away. My single worst experience was a single purchase of the tree and shrub preventative pest control. A mere month later, my shrubs were overtaken by spider mites. I attempted to work with customer service to have them retreat the area, and they simply refused to do it. Once a loyal customer, I am convinced that the provider is now working under new management, or they have changed their once reliable service in exchange for underhanded business tactics to make a bigger profit. I am now looking for another service provider that will leave a better experience than I've had with TruGreen this year.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! These people have no integrity AT ALL!! I'm warning you now to NEVER!! Do business with them… They took 1100 dollars from me and is making me wait to get it back… The LIARS said there was an issue refunding my card… No one called to tell me that… They “mailed “ a check instead…😡😡😡😡. No telling when I’ll get my money back back now…. I have to file a complaint with my bank, and have to wait for a them to review it… BTW… There were no services rendered to me from TruGreen.. So they are benefiting from my money and I’m at a loss…😡😡😡

TERRIBLE. Ruined my lawn!!! They over fertilized, bad spreader? And burnt several large spots in my beautiful green lawn. I have been calling 6+ times, over the last 4 days to get someone out to see and deal with it. They finally set up an appt for today and I waited around ALL day because they couldn't tell me when and then late afternoon simply cancelled the appt by text. Called again. Still waiting for a call back from a manager which I don't expect to get. Next call is to cancel service and see about getting some sort of judgement settlement against them to pay to fix my lawn.!!! DO NOT USE THEM.

Don't give them your credit card in advance. They will refuse to delete it once you discontinue your services. They report they will use it again in the future should you require more services. Even after I have told them that I will never use them again they refused to delete my account. Service wasn't as I expected. I looked out to see the guy walking back and forth across my lawn with no product coming out of his equipment. What in the world are we being charged for? And now I think I have more weeds than I had before they came. I canceled after the third service. I was able to get a refund of what was left on my account. But now they refuse to delete the account and to take my credit card off stating they will use it again should I contact them for further service. There is no way that's going to happen.

I am extremely disappointed with TruGreen’s lawn service. Their advertising promises healthy, green lawns and professional care, but my experience was the complete opposite. Despite paying for their services, I saw little to no improvement in my lawn, and in some areas it actually looked worse. What bothered me the most was the lack of honesty and transparency. I was repeatedly told that treatments had been completed and that I should expect results, yet the condition of my lawn showed otherwise. It felt like excuses were constantly being made instead of taking responsibility for the poor service provided.

A Tru Green salesman knocked on my door about providing service. I didn't have sod down at the time but I told hom I was looking for someone to provide service once my St. Augustine was installed. I told him what I was looking for, A service provider that would service my lawn and as long as I kept it watered and cut they would give me a guarantee that I would not have to worry about it dying or bugs getting in. The salesman gave me a written guarantee!

My TruGreen service experience this past year (2025) was a challenging experience.. This customer unfriendly experience convinced me it was time for a change. The problem we had encountered was a high level of crabgrass infestation. TruGreen’s sub-par support last year was well below the experience I had during my near 20 years of lawn support I had with them. During a site visit in August (2025) to review lawn problems the service manager asked why I canceled my 1st scheduled visit which was the ‘pre-emergent’ treatment for crabgrass and other weeds. I commented that I had been a customer for nearly 20 years and had never canceled my pre-emergent visit and had never made a change to my scheduled treatments. After reviewing my records the rep apologized when he discovered the cancellation was caused by TruGreen’s scheduling department.

TruGreen is not to be trusted. (If you can get them on the phone at all). I specifically asked for a shrub fertilizing service only. After confirming they offered this service, I opened an account and was scheduled for service on May 28, 2026 or roughly two weeks hence. On the day of the service, since I didn't receive a call or text as promised confirming their plan to service our shrubs, I called them to confirm. That's when I was told that they were coming out to spray for insects (which I did not want or request) and would not fertilize the shrubs and trees until the Fall of 2026, four or five months from now.

Tru-Green has the worst customer service people! They do a lousy job when fertilizing and weeding your lawn. The techs are lazy and do not do a thorough job. When scheduling, they give you a six-hour arrival time, which is ridiculous.

I am receiving the lawn service and the tree shrub package. I prepay to receive the discount. When the bill came, it had $44.91 in additional charges for the two services. I called and talked to them previously several times and it was never disclosed that they are now charging a temporary fuel surcharge. I feel that should have been disclosed up front. Plus, the way the bill is written, it says *plus tax where applicable. It looks like the charge is a tax. However, it is a fuel surcharge. This should have been disclosed upfront.

I had two service contracts on two investment properties. I was paying for full yard treatment on both but only received treatment on one third of the yard. When I called to inquire, they didn’t care. Made no effort to remedy, no effort to keep me as a customer. I did have to call multiple times to cancel the two service contracts and get my money back. After a year of servicing only one-third of the yard even though I was paying for the full yard something should have been done to keep me as a customer. Techs are not reachable. Not trustworthy. Not dependable. They just don’t care. I wish I would have read these reviews first.

Bought a package deal with them and was told that it would not continue after the last treatment (only way I was going to buy it). Had 2 people come out the beginning of the year and did a treatment. First time I got to see the people doing the treatment. Person spraying did not get the other side of tree line (which is also my property) and kindly asked them to do it. They did. I went back inside and a little bit later they left. Found out a couple days later that my neighbor saw they start on one of the side of my lawn and never finish it because they got called back to the truck and then left. I got a bill for the treatment a few weeks later. reached out to them and talked to Selese and explained everything to them. They apologized but continued to try to get me to continue my services with discounts and pricing tactics. Finally they told me that they would take care of the bill.

I was not told that my yard with fescue grass could not be sprayed for weeds because it would kill the grass until the technician told me when he showed up for the first treatment. I have already paid for 12 months and 8 treatments.

I hired Tru Green to aerate my lawn along with fertilizing and weed control. When they aerated my lawn and many areas where they turned a corner they chewed up the grass. I called and sent the attached pictures and was told that is just normal and the grass would grow back. I don't see how this is normal, and I feel the response is inappropriate. I will not be using them again.

We signed up for a year's worth of lawn care to see how it went, which was poorly. Different tech every time, asked the same questions every time as to where to treat, this was all done when we signed up, I do not think they ever treated our full lawn. They continued treatment after our one year of pay and then tried to get us to pay for a treatment we did not authorize. On top of all of this, our yard is no better, still full of weeds and actually looks terrible, a complete waste of money.

I canceled some services and then THEY started it up again and told me it was on an auto renewal. No Notice nothing. And when I got billed and complained they said tough, it didn't mean anything just because I canceled some services. just pay your bill. I searching for somebody else to take care of my lawn NOW!

I had landscaping done in my backyard that left me with no grass at all in mid January. I was afraid that the topsoil would be washing down the hill to my neighbor and I needed grass. A TruGreen salesman told me they had the solution to my problem. They would come out the end of February and plug the yard rather than overseed. He talked me into buying one year service in advance which would include getting rid of any weeds in my flowerbeds. I am disabled and this was an answer to prayer. They did not show up in February, but I figured it was just too cold. March came and someone came out for weed control. I asked him why he wasn’t planting grass. His answer was they don’t do that until October.

I'm sick and tired of getting advertising emails from this company every single day. I block and report them but it doesn't help and the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the emails just brings me to their webpage with no way to unsubscribe. Seems like a very deceptive company and I would never use them. I feel like I'm being harassed, and I didn't even subscribe to their emails to begin with.

I had TruGreen for several years now. Although the service up to this year was OK, not great, but they always tried to make things right. This year (2026) is different. They supposedly treated my lawn on 3/24/26. There are areas of my yard that look like they weren't treated and the growth and greening of the grass has been much less than other years. My understanding is a significant number of other customers have complained. Which leads me to wonder, did TruGreen, because of fertilizer cost (the Iran war) reduce the amount of nitrogen in their liquid solution.

If I could give TruGreen less than one star I would. Last Summer, one of their techs treated our grass and burned it. After much aggravation and unreturned calls, they slit seeded in October. We thought the grass would come back in Spring. Wrong. It didn't work at all. We have mud patches and brown patches all over our lawn.

TruGreen promised me to over-seed and aerate my lawn and stated that I needed to pay for their weed killing and other services first. After paying hundreds of dollars for “weed killing,” I called to see when they’d come out and seed my lawn, and they stated that they don’t “over-seed” in Texas SMH! I paid them for months just waiting to get my lawn seeded, and now I’m left with a muddy lawn and no REFUND!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Tru Green Chem Lawn is a waste of money and time, I wouldn’t recommend Them to anyone. We had Tru Green come out hopefully to enhance Our lawn, They sprayed Their pre emergent, fertilizers, pesticides, and post emergent now Our lawn is dead our back yard is completely dead, We tried getting a manager to come out and make an assessment but have not had a manager come out till yet, however They did send a tech out and told Us We had an insect problem, I said what good was spraying pesticides then, He didn’t answer that. We called to cancel service and They tried to say They would send out a branch manager to see the lawn and offer Us a solution, I doubt that will happen. Meantime our lawn is dead, the front yard still has some green but full of weeds and brown spots. I wouldn’t recommend Tru Green to anyone.

I used TruGreen for 3 years. Fortunately, my grass looked great and for the price, the service was pretty good. Until last year. I had called and reported two different occasions where their staff over-sprayed my lawn so badly that it got on my shed AND my neighbors shed. Even sent them pictures to show how high on the shed it for. One particular product they used (Dicambia) was sprayed all over my new dogwood tree (planted for my deceased mother in law) and killed the tree within a week. While I did receive calls from someone saying they would like to investigate it, no one ever came out to do anything UNTIL I cancelled services this year. A technician came out, reviewed tree, I sent 7 photos of the tree wilting and its ultimate rapid death.
