What is Sunday?

Sunday is a lawn care subscription service company. With Sunday’s Smart Lawn Plan, you receive a lawn care subscription box that includes products tailored to your lawn care needs. The box is delivered to your door exactly when you need to apply the products.

Sunday products promote soil and lawn health. The nutrients can replace your normal fertilizing plan. The company’s products have bio-based formulas with natural ingredients like:

  • Soy protein
  • Beet juice extract
  • Seaweed
  • Molasses

Sunday also has a marketplace where you can buy backyard essentials like plants and trees, lawn care, garden tools, and pest control products.

How does Sunday work?

Sunday’s Smart Lawn Plan begins with a free soil analysis. The company uses satellite mapping and local climate data to build a customized lawn care plan.

Sunday creates a custom subscription box with products tailored to your lawn’s specific needs. A soil test kit is included in your first box. Sunday uses the results of this personal soil sample to find any nutrient deficiencies and update your plan.

The subscription includes a full year of lawn essentials:

  • Early-season nutrient boost pouches
  • Maintenance fertilizer plan
  • Starter tools, like hose attachments
  • Step-by-step instructions

Subscription deliveries are seasonal. You receive a new box when it's time to fertilize your lawn. Depending on when your plan starts, you should receive one to four boxes per growing season, usually between February and November for most climates.

Remember to follow Sunday’s best practices when applying nutrients or herbicides to your lawn. It should take about 10 minutes to apply the nutrients. Sunday experts are available to deliver one-on-one support if you need it.

Sunday services

Sunday has three subscription levels under its Smart Lawn Plan. They include:

  • Basic plan: You receive multiple shipments of nutrients pouches that feed and enrich your lawn. You also get a soil testing kit that helps Sunday customize your care plan.
  • Keep & Protect: You receive everything in the Basic Plan, along with postemergent weed control.
  • Grow & Renew: You receive everything in Keep & Protect, and you can choose between grass seed or additional nutrient pouches.

The Smart Lawn Plan covers lawns up to a recommended 13,500 square feet.

Sunday also has an online marketplace where you can shop for:

  • Trees
  • Shrubs and bushes
  • Perennials
  • Seeds and bulbs
  • Fertilizer and soils
  • Garden tools
  • Grass seed
  • Weed control
  • Watering and irrigation
  • Mowers and equipment
  • Pest control

How much does Sunday cost?

The cost of Sunday’s Smart Lawn Plan is based on your lawn size and time of year. To find out specific pricing information, you can insert your address for a custom lawn care plan. Sunday subscriptions are annual, and the cost is divided based on the number of shipments and the products included in each box.

You can shop some of Sunday’s products without a subscription. Here are the price ranges based on supply categories (at the time of publishing):

  • Live plants and trees: $40 to $168
  • Garden: $6 to $43

Original review: April 25, 2022

I purchased Sunday this spring (April 2022) and applied it 2 weeks ago. I struggled knowing what to put on my lawn and how much to apply, but Sunday sends you everything you need, and tells you exactly how to apply it. It also saved me like $200 this spring VS what I used last year from my local Ace. So far the results are great! I'm seeing the grass get greener in areas where they stayed brown pretty much year round in 2021.
