    We are moving to a new home in McKinney TX and started researching lawn companies. TruGreen was on the list and we sent them an inquiry on Price. Their AI automated engine sent us an egregious quote (2-3x higher than anyone) so we removed them from the list. The next day, a sales person called me to discuss our interest and the quote. They immediately said that they could give me a much better deal and started asking a ton of questions. They started selling their services and ignored my feedback on my priorities and timeframes. They got very aggressive on the phone and just wanted to "make the sell". They were very pushing, aggressive and unprofessional. They would not send me a written quote but did try to bully me into signing up for their services on the phone. You can't hang up or you will lose the discount I just got approved for you. We went back and forth until I finally had to hang up on the rep.

    Then, the next day, another manager called me and started down the same path but backed off a little after hearing my story the day before. Again, they tried to put some sales pressure on me to buy now. Again, I asked the sales agent for a written quote, I emailed this person 2x without a response. I don't know if they provide good services in the field but will tell you there sale team are aggressive, bullies, don't listen to the customer, don't care about anything but making the sale. Buyer Aware. Don't take this crap from anyone. For this reason, I would never use their services and recommend no one buy from this company. I don't know who trains their sales bullies but this practice needs to change. We are humans and we should be treated with respect... not just a piece a crap and aggressively attack you.

    Another major issue - this company - for the 3rd time, had a tech show up in his truck - SIT in his truck for 45 minutes - NEVER get out and then bill us almost $400. HOW does this happen? Do they not realize people have cameras all over these days? Robert in Customer Service was very very helpful.

    They make people pay for service even if they have prepaid for yearly service. Be aware. Looks like yearly subscription are scam. I had paid for 7 services for the year where for last service they changed my account and said no prepayment were done and started charging me without any communication.

    Ineffective product and inability to cancel account. I called twice to cancel services only to receive notices of upcoming treatments. I had to use my bank to establish a "do not pay merchant." Today, I received a call after leaving several complaints on their customer survey. Rep stated she could see where I had made calls but service was not cancelled. Horrible company processes in addition to treatments that had no effects. I had them come back after every treatment because it was not working. After a year+, I wanted to change companies.

    Tru-Green over fertilized and killed my lawn in the summer of 2024. They had previously treated my lawn for the prior 3 years. The employee that ruined my lawn had stated that it was only his second day on the job, and clearly he did not know what he was doing unfortunately. My grass died within 72 hours of being treated. My immediate initial complaints that were filed with the Company went unanswered for months. Instead I received notices that I required additional service to the lawn, even though the Company had already killed it.

    Once I filed a formal complaint I received a response from their legal department months later that blamed the killing of grass not on their clear negligence, but on the fact that I had the "wrong" grass for my lawn, which was misidentified by them, and that my lawn showed wear damage, even though I only went on it to cut it weekly. They also took a sample of the soil, which their own lab source said was insufficient to identify the cause of loss. I subsequently received from their legal dept. an offer to settle the matter for the cost to aerate my lawn, which was less then four percent of the cost of the damage.

    I have tried to continue to deal with their legal department, but they have not responded to my correspondences over the last year. I am now in the process of filing a complaint with my state's Atty. General's office. Not only was Tru-Green the cause of the damage to my lawn, but also the unprofessional and unethical manner in which they have treated me as a paying customer speaks loudly to the type of Corporate Organization that they are. Be advised that this is what you can expect from this Company when dealing with them.

    Never use TruGreen Lawn service, It is better do by yourself or some other reliable service. They are only interested in money not in service. Fake billing, lie and if you don't pay go behind your credit, so my request is never use TruGreen Lawn service.

    I had them service my lawn and caught their technician not even spraying anything, just walked around, hung a list of services he "completed" on my door and left. I have cameras everywhere, he did nothing. Then when I called to report it and cancel the service, they wouldn't let me and said they would repeat the spray. I asked them not to send the same technician again due to retaliation. They sent the same guy. I finally was able to cancel. I never want to use them again and tried to delete my online information from their website. After contacting their customer service again, I found out that it is impossible to do that.

    The company responds to complaints immediately but there is no follow up thereafter. The company would advise me of issues with lawn but would not do anything to correct the issue. After I let them go my lawn looks great.

    I’ve been using TruGreen for two full years, faithfully paying for their so-called “lawn care program.” After all this time, my lawn still has crabgrass everywhere. When I finally asked why, they casually told me, “We don’t treat crabgrass weeds.” Seriously? That’s one of the most common and visible weeds out there. What exactly am I paying for if a “lawn care service” doesn’t even handle that? They kept sending technicians who sprayed something, left a slip on the door, and disappeared—no noticeable improvement, no follow-up, nothing. Every time I called, I got vague excuses and zero accountability. It feels like a complete waste of time and money. Save yourself the frustration—don’t bother with TruGreen. You’ll get better results just doing it yourself.

    Be careful TruGreen does not comprehend CANCEL my entire policy. I cancelled my policy several years ago. They still came out and did a service then wanted me to pay. I hope I am done with them forever now.

    I’m extremely disappointed with TruGreen. Their treatment completely damaged several spots of my front yard grass after spraying to kill weeds. Instead of controlling the weeds, the product killed large areas of healthy grass. I reported the issue multiple times and even had their technician come out — but all he did was apologize and leave. Despite many calls and texts with their manager and customer service, no one offered any real solution. They refused to repair the damage or issue a refund, and eventually just canceled my service.

    It’s been over three weeks with no resolution. I now have to wait until spring to fix the damage myself at my own cost — or consider taking the issue to small claims court. TruGreen should be held responsible for their mistakes, but they clearly don’t stand behind their work. I do not recommend this company. Be cautious — they don’t take accountability when they ruin your lawn.

    I can’t recommend these services; the job was marked finished several times and after several complains online, in person, and by email they never provide me full service that I paid for. Last time, aeration service was only 1/3 of my lawn. After that I cancelled my service but now I got a due bill of over $300. This is outrageous.

    If I could give a zero I would. Auto renewed me for a leased property that when I signed up I told them and they said no worries. BUYER BEWARE!!!! They are the worst customer service, kept calling me repeatedly trying to collect

    ABSOLUTELY, do not go with this company. They have a problem with following through on what they say they are going to do. The staff, customer service, and everyone associated with this ridiculous company. They canceled on us twice with no explanation whatsoever and when you call the company you get Bin Laden and they are absolutely no help at all. They clearly don't care about customers at all. This company has several complaints about them. I'm surprised that they even exist. Do yourself a favor and go with a more reputable company.

    Initially they did okay. I just canceled all services after nearly 20 years as a customer. Lots of promises, but follow through (in my opinion) has become lacking. I had to teach some of the "techs" about different kinds of weeds. One new tech asked if I was a new customer and was surprised when I said no. He couldn't believe how BAD my lawn looked. There are better options.

    I actually didn’t even want to give it 1 star. This was the absolute worst experience with a company. I spent a lot of money and my grass is maybe 1% better than it was before. I’m actually embarrassed to tell people I spent money. Do not use this company. There is no transparency. Many of the technicians do not seem knowledgeable. Don’t do it.

    I was their customer for years in Illinois and New York. They used to reach me every year to renew my contract. This year for my surprise, they never called, texted or emailed me asking if I would renew my contract, and just sent someone to do a lawn application without any previous communication. I called them to say I never asked for the service, and they said they did not need to reach me if I hadn’t canceled them. I said they always reached me before for renewal. I was very disappointed and asked them to cancel the service. The customer service person said I wouldn’t need to pay for the application. Months later I got a bill from a collector company. TruGreen is still charging me for the service I did not request. That’s unbelievable and very disappointing.

    I was told by TruGreen that they would perform a soil test and address any issues found in my lawn. However, when the technician arrived, he informed me that they do not do soil testing in Texas at all. The treatment I received only included sulfur and weed control, even though I have visible brown patch and grub problems. I was disappointed to find that the service didn’t include the comprehensive care I was promised — honestly, I could have done the same treatment myself for much less (technician only applied sulphur for 70USD!! as he claimed they couldn't do anything else for the brown patch or the grubs).

    After submitting feedback about the visit, I received a call from a TruGreen representative. Instead of addressing my concerns, the representative argued with me about my expectations when I mentioned I wanted to cancel the service after that first visit. She told me that what I expected wasn’t part of the service they offer. Overall, the experience was disappointing and that first visit felt like a waste of money.

    Do NOT go with TruGreen. They will gladly take your money but will not take care of your lawn. The salesman promised that my weeds would be gone within a couple of months and said everything was guaranteed. Five months later, my lawn looks worse than ever. Their so-called “all-in-one” spray is supposed to kill weeds and fertilize the grass, but that’s a lie. It only made the weeds grow faster and thicker. Even the manager came out, saw how bad it was, and admitted it looked terrible — but still, nothing was done to fix it. Their customer service sounds friendly and makes you feel like they’ll help, but they don’t do anything. There is absolutely no guarantee despite what they promise. Now I’m left with a lawn full of weeds that looks worse than when I started.

    Someone from TruGreen just aerated my lawn without my consent. When I called and advised them that I won’t be paying for this service that I did not request, Paul, the rep, started arguing with me. I gave him a choice to either cancel the charge or cancel the account. He kept arguing so, I cancelled the account and asked that they never come back to my house. Who runs a business like this?! Also, he said that they texted me about the aeration. Nonsense. There were no text messages. What awful customer service.

    We hired TruGreen to service our lawn and flowerbeds and paid for a full year of service in advance. Since then, their representative has only shown up once, and our yard now looks worse than it ever has. What makes this situation even more concerning is learning that our neighbors, who also contracted with your company, are facing the same neglect. We have called several times to request corrective action, yet no one has come out to address the issues. This amounts to a clear breach of contract and raises serious questions about your business practices.

    ⭐ 1 Star – Absolutely the Worst Service I’ve Ever Experienced. I scheduled Trugreen to treat the weeds in my yard back in July and paid in full in advance. Not only did they fail to show up, but they didn’t even bother to call or reschedule. When I followed up, I got no explanation—just a vague offer to reschedule, which I accepted. Guess what? They didn’t show up again.

    After two missed appointments and zero accountability, I finally spoke with someone named Judie, who apologized and promised they’d include seeds with the treatment to make up for the inconvenience. That sounded fair—until they missed the third appointment. When I called to follow up, they claimed there was no record of Judie’s promise. So now I’m out of time, patience, and money, with absolutely nothing to show for it. This was hands-down the most frustrating and unprofessional customer service I’ve ever dealt with. No communication, no follow-through, and no integrity. I do not recommend TruGreen to anyone. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

    Absolute scam. Stay far away. I have proof that they come to the house and do NOTHING. I Paid for the entire year service up front. The day they came to aerate the guy came and did Nothing. I have cameras showing half my yard and not once did he walk into that area. There were no holes in my yard and no pieces of grass from the aeration. I will be complaining to BBB as well a getting my money back even if I have to hire a lawyer. Not the first time I've heard about this from someone. You tell me, does that look like an aerated lawn to you from the photos?

    Bad service, never showed up on my first service, kept me on hold for about an hour because I wanted to cancel, finally they canceled, I told them if I catch them on my lawn I will have the driver arrested for trespassing. They put you on hold so beware of this company

    If I could give them a negative zero, I would. After simply filling out an inquiry, these people called, harassed, and even came to my home unscheduled, unannounced and uninvited!!! I and my man are LIVID!!! He's thinking of taking some sort of legal action. After telling them we did not want their service, they proceeded to call.. even when I said I was at work, they continued to try and convince me to use their service. To which I repeated to them, NO! At one point they called me 7 in the evening. But today CROSSED the line. To send someone to our home!!! That young man is lucky my man had just stepped away. If you are this bad and desperate for service, I can't imagine what would happen if we decided to get your service and then cancel. Still looking into maybe filing something with the BBB!!!

    I have had exceptionally poor service from Trugreen and am now experiencing non-existent care from customer services who bare face lie about follow up and next steps to resolve. Service commitments not met - due every 4-6 weeks and instead have been twice with 9 week gaps. Last service in July and despite numerous commitments to rectify with an onsite visit, nothing has happened. Have contacted three separate customer service individuals all have whom have committed to help resolve and each time this appears to be lies as I have received zero contact despite also confirming my complaint in writing. This is the most appalling customer service I have experienced in a long time.

    We hired TruGreen for their "expert" care. Our lawn now looks worse than it ever has, even areas that were green before are now dead and brown. Large, unsightly dead patches have appeared in areas that maybe needed fertilization before they started their "service." It is painfully obvious that their chemical applications are either inconsistent, incorrect, or both. They haven't nurtured our lawn; they've actively damaged it.

    The situation is truly laziness personified. The reason for the terrible results became clear by watching the so-called "technicians" on multiple occasions pull up in the middle of the street blocking traffic, not attempt to park or knock on the door to see if we were home to talk to us, to perform a rushed, 90-second service where they sprint across the lawn haphazardly spraying, with no care for even coverage. They never sent the same person either so likely added to inconsistency in all this.

    On top of that, the customer service experience has been the final insult. Trying to get anyone to address the dead spots or the skipped services is a nightmare. Calls go unanswered when you ask for a manager as they try to keep you by saying results aren't guaranteed only service, which they've dropped the ball on both so either way money is owed back to us.

    The most shocking demonstration of their incompetence is their representative's inability to correctly calculate the total amount we paid to date by just looking at records. I had to look at my own bank app and do the math myself. If they cannot perform basic math or use of a calculator, how can they possibly be trusted to handle complex chemical applications for my lawn? It would be a joke to let you come back and ruin my lawn MORE especially knowing your entire staff basically owns that you all are inconsistent from the technicians to the phone reps all dry snitching on each other about the way things operate internally. The avoidance of receiving a manager callback is clear because they don't want to lose a contract and they clearly don't want to refund the money for poor services and for the damage done to our lawn. So do not make the same mistake we did. Save your money and your lawn. Avoid TruGreen at all costs.

    Always record your phone calls, and save every email. They will tell you one dollar amount and then try to change it on you without you noticing. They also won't send confirmation emails while on the phone so that they can claim you didn't ask for it when you call back. They said I would get $403 back, but now are claiming they never said it. But I recorded the call, so now we are going back and forth. Not to mention, they highly dilute the chemicals, so you call back and get another treatment. It's like losing at the casino. They just want you to keep doubling down.
