If I could leave zero stars I would. My experience with KB Home has been extremely disappointing. The customer service has been consistently poor, with inadequate communication, slow follow-up, and little urgency in addressing concerns. Instead of receiving helpful support, I have repeatedly felt dismissed and left to manage problems that should have been resolved promptly and professionally. We have lived in this new-build home for only three years, yet we have already experienced numerous problems, including leaking gas valves, leaking furnaces, and other appliance-related issues. These concerns have gone well beyond minor inconveniences and have raised serious questions about the quality of the installation, workmanship, oversight, and attention to detail. For a relatively new home, I expected the appliances and major systems to be installed correctly, operate safely, and be thoroughly inspected.

I would 100% recommend purchasing a KB Home. The amount of personalization to each home is unmatched compared to other builders. Getting the right team goes a really really really long way.

KB sales agent was awful, he was late to our first meeting, and after that it just continued downhill. He made several mistakes and hardly ever kept me informed or could answer my questions. This is my first home purchase so I had many questions. Fortunately I had Danny and Melva in my corner to answer any and all of my questions. They took amazing care of me and my family and they are the two then deserve the ten stars! Not my sales agent!

KB Home made my homebuying journey a dream come true. From beginning to end, the entire team provided exceptional service, knowledgeable guidance, and genuine support. Customer service and handoff needs significant improvement, cost of home vs quality of home and home building experience differs greatly, people who are spending this much money on a home deserve to receive proper quality and build of their homes not cheap materials and corners being cut, customers deserve much better respect overall.

It was nice to customize our options in the house and not just have to pick one that was already built.

See previous comment. Furthermore, while I understand that we live in an active construction zone, the workers in this subdivision are particularly messy, and make living here quite difficult. I’ve picked up dozens of nails from the road, hoping that none puncture my car tires. Also, none of the workers are doing anything to control fugitive dust. They create giant dust clouds that completely cover all the homes and cars in the neighborhood, while not hosing the dirt down to reduce dust. I get that houses need to be built and work needs to be done, but the residents of this neighborhood also have to live here, and shouldn’t have to worry about unsafe levels of dust in the air and on property.

Having a shower upgrade installed and look what was found inside the wall. Sloppy workmanship and disregard for work ethic!

There are a few areas where KB Home could improve the customer experience, particularly with the Design Center and post\-closing customer service\. Because we were purchasing our home from out of state, we relied heavily on the Design Center representative’s guidance during our virtual appointments\. We wish we had been advised to add additional internet/data outlets throughout the home to accommodate fiber\-optic service\. With only one outlet above the fireplace, setting up our home network has been much more difficult and required additional work by the internet installer\.

My overall experience with KB Home has been very positive. From the beginning of the process to the completion of my home, I felt supported by a team that was professional, caring, and dedicated to making sure everything went smoothly. I truly appreciated the communication, guidance, and attention to detail from everyone who helped along the way.

Amazing! I mentioned it in previous questions, but I can’t say enough how kind and thoughtful everybody was.

When I decided to purchase a KB Home, I wasn't just buying a house. I was choosing a place where my family would build memories for years to come. Because of that, I had high expectations for the experience, and in many ways those expectations were met during the buying process. What has been most disappointing is that the excitement of moving into a brand-new home was overshadowed by the amount of time and energy required after closing. Instead of unpacking and settling in with my wife and our two young children, much of our first month was spent scheduling appointments, meeting contractors, documenting issues, and following up on repairs.

If you are locking the interest rate with the loan officer, that should be respected and not end up paying a higher interest rate than agreed like in my case. I’m very dissatisfied about the lack of honesty shown by Tim **. I was already financially and emotionally involved in buying this house and that is the only reason I continued with the investment.

My experience was greater than expected. From beginnings to end the process was professional. The communication and organization was amazing.

This happens to be my second new home purchase (decades apart) with KBH and I’m so satisfied with them once again! The process from start to finish was painless and I felt informed throughout. Although the home buying experience is often stressful I immediately felt at ease from the early stages of visiting the community. The sales rep was approachable and knowledgeable, leaving us with a lot of confidence that this could be our future home. Fast forward and well, here we are, homeowners of a wonderfully appointed new KBH build! It’s apparent they believe in their product with thoughtful design, applied innovation and value. I appreciate KBH and am happy to know I can depend on them for a quality product!

Even though building a house is a stressful process everyone at KB helped make it less stressful. Everyone was very understanding and cared about my concerns.

I was so happy to find a new home development that had more open space and surrounded by protected conservation area. The homes did not have a uniform "box" like arrangement and the process allowed for homeowner input. I really enjoyed working with each person from KB, starting with the sales force to the person who showed us how to use the keypad.

Initially I thought the process was good but after living here the reality is now different. However, I have found more issues the longer I live in the Whiteview Village Palm Coast location. There is a reason they are "giving" the houses away so they can absolve themselves of poor workmanship and accountability. The community is rat-infested and KB takes no responsibility for the site. They have made a huge clearing from the front entrance which flooded the community with flea-infested rabbits and rats entering the homes, destroying the houses they just built and vehicles not only parked in the driveways but also inside of your own garages.

So, the home itself is good. The HOA that they are working with is not!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU'RE IN TUCSON AZ!!! The HOA headache is not worth it. Ive had to open a case with animal control about an aggressive dog that is not kept on a leash. The HOA has rules that states they can remove aggressive animals from properties, but they told me all they can do is send letters and fines. If you have small children or want to enjoy outside without the threat of being attacked by a neighbors dog, STAY AWAY FROM KB HOME!!! Please seek other options. After our purchase, we saw many more new home builds that we wish we would have looked at!! While this is not directly the fault of KB Home, they know the HOA is not doing anything about certain issues. So please be careful when purchasing a home through these folks in Tucson AZ.

KB Home built my first newly constructed home. Around the same time, several of my friends and family also purchased new builds in the Sacramento area when interest rates were low. Over the past five years, we’ve shared our experiences with different builders, and now, especially after selling my home, I feel I can offer a thoughtful and reliable review of KB Home’s build quality and customer support.

We purchased a KB Home in late 2023, and the siding has already cracked and come loose. That’s not normal wear and tear, that’s poor installation or defective materials that never should have been used in the first place. Siding simply doesn’t fail like that on a nearly new home. When I reached out to KB Home, I was immediately told by customer service that the issue was outside of their warranty window… By about five months. I asked how to appeal, given how unreasonable it is for siding to fail this quickly, and was referred to Greg **, Director of Customer Service for the Raleigh/Durham area. Greg asked for photos, which I provided promptly. Then… Nothing. Multiple emails and calls went unanswered.

I took possession of my keys on 9/4/2020. I was 100% satisfied with the purchase. In April of 2025 the AC condenser started to fail at 4 1/2 years. I called KB Home to see if it was under warranty and was told it was covered for 4 years, 6 months out of warranty. I came to find that they installed a 2.5 ton unit in a 1430 sf. home that is 1/2 ton undersized. When the unit was replaced I was told that it was possibly a refurbished unit. All in all very disappointing.

I am sharing my experience with KB Home to warn other prospective buyers and to seek resolution. Since moving in I have experienced severe indoor temperature control issues. In summer the interior reached about 87–88°F while the HVAC ran constantly; in winter indoor temperatures were roughly 20°F below the thermostat setting. These conditions indicate significant air leakage and poor thermal performance.

As a first-time homebuyer, this was a very disappointing experience. Our build timeline changed multiple times with little proactive communication, making it difficult to plan housing and avoid additional costs. A major concern was the lack of accountability at the site leadership level. Brandon **, the site leader, did not provide consistent updates or clear answers regarding timeline changes. Even when I brought my concerns to him, he dismissed them.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the experience I had with your team, particularly with loan originator Rocio. I began my home search and loan process in March 2025 and placed my trust in your organization. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced. Throughout the process, my credit was pulled multiple times and I was repeatedly told that I was approved. After months of assurances, I was blindsided by a sudden decline without any prior indication or clear explanation. The communication during this entire period was consistently poor, and at no point was I provided with the specific reasons for the denial, which I am entitled to receive.

Very shady company. Steer clear from these guys. Don’t believe the good reviews. Most of these have been placated and bribed to craft a good public image. These guys also work with realtors who the realtors themselves are coaching their customers into positive crafted reviews. Everyone scratching each other‘s money, hungry backs.

DO NOT BUY KB. Poor worksmanship, poor quality. TERRIBLE customer service. If you have a problem, GOOD LUCK GETTING IT FIXED. There are even things that we chose in the studio that they did not comply with and now they are basically saying that we are out of luck and that they aren’t going to honor it. Dozens of requests that the rep says he’s “working on” and then you just don’t even hear back about it.

We are incredibly grateful to Kris **, Novelle, and the entire team for the fantastic service they provided for Kb Homes Bayberry, Antioch, during our home-buying journey with KB Homes. They made the process smooth and stress-free, turning what is often a challenging experience into a joyful one. From the start, Kris and Novelle were there to guide us through every step, ensuring that any question we had was answered promptly and thoroughly. Their excellent communication kept us informed and reassured, which was invaluable.

Used the cheapest materials they could find. And pressure you for a review immediately after moving in where as you won’t see any problems in such a short period. They have practice of they know there’s a problem but install anyway and fix it later IF homebuyer notices the problem. I’m looking for another home but it definitely won’t be a KB Home. They can’t build me a bird house.

Builder chalked around all light fixtures instead of putting the proper boards in the ceiling and attic. Didn't even realize until we went to change out the lights and fans to an upgrade. Couldn't even finish the job because every fixture hole is literally just chalked to try and hold up the lights and fans. This HUGE fire and safety issue as well as all of the plastic fixtures are already crumbling because the heat cannot escape. Had a leak in the downstairs bathroom, mind you the 1st floor was flooded because the entire fixtures that goes into the wall shot out while we were out one day, all of the water was flowing to the opposite side of the home because the floors are so badly leveled. All wood trim is rotting dude to lack of exterior caulking and painting. The electricity is not wired right so half the time outlets don't work, especially in the kitchen. Literally a nightmare especially after the 'newness' wears off. Best of luck if you try staying in the home a few years.

Buying a KB Home was the biggest mistake l've ever made. If you're looking for a home, do yourself a favor and stay away from KB! From the very beginning, it was nothing but issues. They were unprofessional, careless, and clearly don't take pride in their work. The construction was sloppy, deadlines kept getting pushed, and communication was almost nonexistent. Whenever I had questions or concerns, l either got brushed off or left waiting weeks for a response. They don't follow through, and it feels like once they have your money, they stop caring completely.

Garbage! The house was built by Garbage men posing as home builders. Things are off. As years pass you start paying attention to details. Some plugs were put in wrong causing it to blow or burn out. Rain comes through the window seals in many rooms door.

Let me begin by commenting on the financial process of buying my home from KB Home at The Granary, San Antonio Texas. This process was made as painless as possible when it came to buying my home. Josh was professional every step of the way. There was never an engagement with him that I felt he was not giving me his 100% absolute best. He always made me feel that he was going above and beyond to provide me with the best homebuying experience. A++ to Josh and KB home for handling the financial gauntlet of my home purchase.

We purchased a KB Homes new build in 2024 with realistic expectations, but even those were not met. Unfortunately, this has been a deeply disappointing experience, especially as it’s our very first home—something we worked extremely hard for. The quality is far below average. Nothing in the house is level. The cabinets arrived scratched, the trim has large, visible gaps, and the caulking along nearly every edge is sloppy and uneven.

KB was initially exceptional. The sales process and construction team were fantastic up until I submitted my official survey. The build quality is extremely rushed. For example, a backflow preventer needed to be replaced after only 2 years and that is typically supposed to last 5 -10 years. Used cheap material and probably poorly installed. KB did not cover the costs. My latest grievance, and what ultimately led me to leave this review, is my bathroom pedestal sink. The sink is about 3 years old at this point. I noticed a leak so I put in a service request. The gentleman sent me a text to let me know he'd be running about 30 mins late to our 10am appointment, which was fine. He got to my home almost 2 hours later.

KB Home states it focuses on its customers and building relationships on its website, but unfortunately, this is not the case with KB in Chino, California. Staff cares more about your money than you as a person. They seemed nice before you complete the purchase and treat you like dirt after the deal is closed. Moreover, KB Monet Chino is an unsafe community. We lost about $800 due to package theft within in the first month of living here. And KB is doing nothing to make it better.

As a buyer in a new construction community by KB Home, I followed every protocol outlined for third-party inspections: I obtained builder approval for my inspector and submitted the block inspection report within the required 24-hour window—on June 11, 2025. As of today, July 23, 2025, not a single item from that report has been addressed.

This is in KB Home Centrellas in Fresno, CA. We decided to buy a home with them since February of this year and we complied with all the requirements. However, they did not started the home as expected as the County didn't gave them permit to build as they need to put street lights. In short, they finished it in June got their permit. They forgot to get a permit for my covered patio which we finished our interior design proposal last March of this year. So we need to wait another 4-6 weeks for the permit of the covered patio. We are really frustrated on them as and this company is not recommended based on our experience.

KB Home has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with a landlord, especially their loan team. They are completely unprofessional and incompetent—they don’t even know how to correctly calculate loan figures! I want to highlight my experience with one of their loan officers, Mary Ann. She has been unhelpful and unclear throughout the entire process. Whenever I asked her questions, she never had answers or gave any solid information.

The homes are not a good value for the price charged. The materials used are cheap and the crews move through them like an assembly line. The "upgraded" appliance packages aren't worth the price you pay. The walls are so thin you can hear from the front to the back of the house, as there is no internal insulation.

I bought a KB Home 2 years ago and when we closed KB neglected to give me keys to all the exterior locks. The deadbolt on the door to the garage is not keyed like all the other locks and we never got a key to the deadbolt. They claim that the home is out of warranty, but this is not a warranty issue since it is not about something breaking or failing. It is common sense for a builder to supply keys to all the locks they installed.

If you trust the salesperson, KB Home will build a quality home for you. Your salesperson should contact you weekly with progress updates and photos. Our home was almost perfect, save for the plumbing, which was remedied in a very timely manner. Every Monday the community is reviewed and all issues are worked out. I'd buy another, but I'll never live in an HOA development ever again.

I think it's a great way to purchase a house, with plenty of customization options and have it built how you envision it to be. A great alternative to purchasing an existing home. Having a combination of services like build, design, financing and insurance is very convenient to work with.

My overall experience with KB Home, if I were to exclude Don ** from the equation, would be overwhelmingly negative. Frankly, I would never consider purchasing another KB Home. The fact that Tim ** represents KB Home is, frankly, a disservice to the company and a reflection of a serious lack of quality control within your organization. Every member of the team needs to be held accountable for the collective failures. This evaluation should be taken extremely seriously. We genuinely considered forfeiting our deposit due to the horrendous experience with Tim, but Debbie ** intervened and rescued the situation. Her teamwork is truly commendable, and her dedication to customer satisfaction deserves immense recognition. I can't count how many times she emphasized the importance of teamwork. She consistently went above and beyond her job description to assist us. Thank you, Debbie!

I liked the style of the homes before but after living inside I found them to be more intuitive then I initially gave it credit. I don't frequently washed the dishes however the other day having a clear view to the TV from the kitchen, I didn't even realize when I was done with them. I've experienced this feeling in many parts of the home. It's not just aesthetically pleasing but oddly convenient.

KB team walk me through all the process, they made this process so easy for me. Since find the correct house according to my requirements and get the better rate. They covered all my requirements and expectations.

Buying from KB was a great experience. My brother owns a KB home and has shared his experience with his home. It was great, we did not do the whole shebang with studio as the home we purchased. I believe was an inventory home so it was designed by KB. Great upgrades, love it. I enjoy every moment of our home every time I pull into the driveway and the front door!

Overall, KB provided a good home building and home buying experience. The general communication was good and their team really does strive for customer satisfaction. If you present an issue or concern, they will get it to the right person and try their best to resolve it.

We love our KB Home and the area the community is located in. If you are looking for a knowledgeable and caring salesperson, please ask for Sabrina **, as she will make sure you are taken care of throughout the process. Buyer beware if you are assigned Nora ** as your Loan Officer, as she is very difficult to work with, does not provide clear communication, and will keep in the dark on necessary items until it's urgent. The overall homes are well built and KB is willing to stand behind their build to ensure the buyer is satisfied.

It was such an easy process. We came to see the models at Oakwood after seeing another KB home location & decided the next day to come & lock in a new construction home with them. Jackie was the best, always sending us weekly updates with photos & all.

KB Homes is the first home builder I have dealt with, as this was my first home purchase. The sales team and financing team made things easy from the start to understand and feel comfortable with the full process, including weekly check-ins/progress updates, and frequent long phone calls when necessary to cover various topics. My experience with the individuals within sales/financing was definitely the highlight of my home-building process. The actual construction and timeline of the project itself is where KB could use some work. The value of a high-quality, organized, and accountable superintendent cannot be understated. When a project goes through 3-4 different supers with different philosophies and styles, along with an overwhelmingly gracious attitude towards construction quality, it can cause the trust of the consumer to suffer given the investment being made.

There is a huge disconnect between what we were sold on - KB wants to build your home and cares about building your home - and the actual experience we had with KB employees (except in financing - they were great!). We understand we were not the only project the staff works on at any given time, but so much stress was added to our project by team members who didn't care about that they are building someone's home and these someone's have high yet reasonable expectations to have a quality home.

Our home buying process couldn't have happened without the teamwork that the sales team and loan originators showed. The quality and upgrades they provide were surprising. We are 100% satisfied with our new home.

The Sales team used shady "tactics" and had incredibly poor/non existent communication with us during the process. However the construction team and quality of home met our every expectation. Now that we are in the home we couldn't be happier. But getting in was a nightmare.

I am very disappointed with the purchase of this home. For several reasons but my main concern is the standing water in my backyard that was supposedly corrected but all I was left with is more mud after irrigation workers came out a dug up a mess. And ending with the standing water issue that still exists in my backyard yard. 1 month and I still cannot use my yard.

The price of the home is competitive and good compared to others. However, the workmanship quality can be improved as there are many small defects throughout the home. For example. When we first turn on the shower in the hallway restroom, there was water spraying out to the counter which was a couple of feet away. I checked the shower head and it was barely screwed in with no plumber tape. Now that makes me question the overall build of the home. If the builders missed that, what else they may have missed? Therefore, I hope my comment highlights the small things that plays a big part from the buyer perspective that will help other future buyers.

This note is clearly indicated that KB Home cares about their homes' quality of workmanship, materials and owners satisfaction. KB Home offers Move-In Survey to give home owners an opportunity to share their concerns and issues.

The overall experience was great. Everyone involved from the beginning to the end was amazing. Kristina was the first person me and my wife meet but we weren't quite ready to commit. After doing a few more walk-thru Kristina showed us a few lots and we were sold. She was very patient, polite and professional. Then she introduced us to Brian who my wife calls a house loan genius. He knew the answer to every question and was able to break everything down so we could understand based off our knowledge level. He was always a phone call away for us, he also would check up on us to see if we have stumbled on any questions, we forgot to ask. They made this entire process smooth and comfortable for us.

The entire process has been disappointing, from the poor customer service to the low-quality construction and frustrating lending experience. Customer service was disorganized and failed to address key issues, leaving the construction team to step in, though their efforts came too late. The property had numerous defects, including missing parts, uneven surfaces, and loose fixtures, which are unacceptable given the cost. Additionally, the lending process was slow, unprofessional, and lacked transparency, with promises broken at the last minute, leaving us with an unfavorable rate. Overall, the experience fell far below expectations.

All the staff was wonderful and easy to work with. Lots of helpful information and I was sold on the facts and information for the local area. The neighborhood had lots of great friendly people. The one thing I think would be most helpful would be a list of factors about the town with maybe a map or list of festivals or activities area for anyone re to the area. I love the town, shops and restaurants and so look forward to exploring Fuquay Varina.

KB studio options and their loan department are excellent in service. As for construction, I had my own inspector come out twice and would definitely recommend doing the same for peace of mind. Lesson learned, do not sign until all items that need to be addressed are done. In my personal experience, the home was not move in ready. There was a lack in excellence, workmanship and in meeting completion at closing dates.
