As a buyer in a new construction community by KB Home, I followed every protocol outlined for third-party inspections: I obtained builder approval for my inspector and submitted the block inspection report within the required 24-hour window—on June 11, 2025. As of today, July 23, 2025, not a single item from that report has been addressed.

This is in KB Home Centrellas in Fresno, CA. We decided to buy a home with them since February of this year and we complied with all the requirements. However, they did not started the home as expected as the County didn't gave them permit to build as they need to put street lights. In short, they finished it in June got their permit. They forgot to get a permit for my covered patio which we finished our interior design proposal last March of this year. So we need to wait another 4-6 weeks for the permit of the covered patio. We are really frustrated on them as and this company is not recommended based on our experience.

KB Home has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with a landlord, especially their loan team. They are completely unprofessional and incompetent—they don’t even know how to correctly calculate loan figures! I want to highlight my experience with one of their loan officers, Mary Ann. She has been unhelpful and unclear throughout the entire process. Whenever I asked her questions, she never had answers or gave any solid information.

The homes are not a good value for the price charged. The materials used are cheap and the crews move through them like an assembly line. The "upgraded" appliance packages aren't worth the price you pay. The walls are so thin you can hear from the front to the back of the house, as there is no internal insulation.

I bought a KB Home 2 years ago and when we closed KB neglected to give me keys to all the exterior locks. The deadbolt on the door to the garage is not keyed like all the other locks and we never got a key to the deadbolt. They claim that the home is out of warranty, but this is not a warranty issue since it is not about something breaking or failing. It is common sense for a builder to supply keys to all the locks they installed.

If you trust the salesperson, KB Home will build a quality home for you. Your salesperson should contact you weekly with progress updates and photos. Our home was almost perfect, save for the plumbing, which was remedied in a very timely manner. Every Monday the community is reviewed and all issues are worked out. I'd buy another, but I'll never live in an HOA development ever again.

I think it's a great way to purchase a house, with plenty of customization options and have it built how you envision it to be. A great alternative to purchasing an existing home. Having a combination of services like build, design, financing and insurance is very convenient to work with.

My overall experience with KB Home, if I were to exclude Don ** from the equation, would be overwhelmingly negative. Frankly, I would never consider purchasing another KB Home. The fact that Tim ** represents KB Home is, frankly, a disservice to the company and a reflection of a serious lack of quality control within your organization. Every member of the team needs to be held accountable for the collective failures. This evaluation should be taken extremely seriously. We genuinely considered forfeiting our deposit due to the horrendous experience with Tim, but Debbie ** intervened and rescued the situation. Her teamwork is truly commendable, and her dedication to customer satisfaction deserves immense recognition. I can't count how many times she emphasized the importance of teamwork. She consistently went above and beyond her job description to assist us. Thank you, Debbie!

I liked the style of the homes before but after living inside I found them to be more intuitive then I initially gave it credit. I don't frequently washed the dishes however the other day having a clear view to the TV from the kitchen, I didn't even realize when I was done with them. I've experienced this feeling in many parts of the home. It's not just aesthetically pleasing but oddly convenient.

KB team walk me through all the process, they made this process so easy for me. Since find the correct house according to my requirements and get the better rate. They covered all my requirements and expectations.

Buying from KB was a great experience. My brother owns a KB home and has shared his experience with his home. It was great, we did not do the whole shebang with studio as the home we purchased. I believe was an inventory home so it was designed by KB. Great upgrades, love it. I enjoy every moment of our home every time I pull into the driveway and the front door!

Overall, KB provided a good home building and home buying experience. The general communication was good and their team really does strive for customer satisfaction. If you present an issue or concern, they will get it to the right person and try their best to resolve it.

We love our KB Home and the area the community is located in. If you are looking for a knowledgeable and caring salesperson, please ask for Sabrina **, as she will make sure you are taken care of throughout the process. Buyer beware if you are assigned Nora ** as your Loan Officer, as she is very difficult to work with, does not provide clear communication, and will keep in the dark on necessary items until it's urgent. The overall homes are well built and KB is willing to stand behind their build to ensure the buyer is satisfied.

It was such an easy process. We came to see the models at Oakwood after seeing another KB home location & decided the next day to come & lock in a new construction home with them. Jackie was the best, always sending us weekly updates with photos & all.

KB Homes is the first home builder I have dealt with, as this was my first home purchase. The sales team and financing team made things easy from the start to understand and feel comfortable with the full process, including weekly check-ins/progress updates, and frequent long phone calls when necessary to cover various topics. My experience with the individuals within sales/financing was definitely the highlight of my home-building process. The actual construction and timeline of the project itself is where KB could use some work. The value of a high-quality, organized, and accountable superintendent cannot be understated. When a project goes through 3-4 different supers with different philosophies and styles, along with an overwhelmingly gracious attitude towards construction quality, it can cause the trust of the consumer to suffer given the investment being made.

There is a huge disconnect between what we were sold on - KB wants to build your home and cares about building your home - and the actual experience we had with KB employees (except in financing - they were great!). We understand we were not the only project the staff works on at any given time, but so much stress was added to our project by team members who didn't care about that they are building someone's home and these someone's have high yet reasonable expectations to have a quality home.

Our home buying process couldn't have happened without the teamwork that the sales team and loan originators showed. The quality and upgrades they provide were surprising. We are 100% satisfied with our new home.

Our experience with KB Home was excellent. We loved the sales office representative and construction staff and appreciated the correct timing of completion and excellent finished product. The home is great!

All of the KB staff was super helpful. I'm a first time home buyer and even though it was a lot of information to process, they walked me through everything and made sure all my questions and requests were heard! Would definitely recommend. (:

From the beginning to the end my wife and I had a great time through this homebuying process. KB Home did a pretty good job at providing options to customize our home without breaking the bank. Amazingly helpful staff, ample communication throughout the process, and questions are easily answered. If ever in the market for a new home in the future, I would not think twice about purchasing a KB Home. 10/10 would recommend.

The Sales team used shady "tactics" and had incredibly poor/non existent communication with us during the process. However the construction team and quality of home met our every expectation. Now that we are in the home we couldn't be happier. But getting in was a nightmare.

From start to finish, our experience with KB Home has been excellent. They delivered a beautiful home ahead of schedule and kept us up to date with the construction process every step of the way. I am very disappointed with the purchase of this home. For several reasons but my main concern is the standing water in my backyard that was supposedly corrected but all I was left with is more mud after irrigation workers came out a dug up a mess. And ending with the standing water issue that still exists in my backyard yard. 1 month and I still cannot use my yard.

The price of the home is competitive and good compared to others. However, the workmanship quality can be improved as there are many small defects throughout the home. For example. When we first turn on the shower in the hallway restroom, there was water spraying out to the counter which was a couple of feet away. I checked the shower head and it was barely screwed in with no plumber tape. Now that makes me question the overall build of the home. If the builders missed that, what else they may have missed? Therefore, I hope my comment highlights the small things that plays a big part from the buyer perspective that will help other future buyers.

This is not a custom home but is good quality and high value for a tract type home. KB seems to go the extra mile to make you satisfied with your purchase. Our unit has lots of natural light and is well designed. Our home very is comfortable.

I have received an email from KB Home Operations Coordinator after closing to reach out to me personally to make sure that I do not have any outstanding items on my home or anything that I am not completely satisfied with that including the name KB Home Vice President of Operations. This note is clearly indicated that KB Home cares about their homes' quality of workmanship, materials and owners satisfaction. KB Home offers Move-In Survey to give home owners an opportunity to share their concerns and issues.

The overall experience was great. Everyone involved from the beginning to the end was amazing. Kristina was the first person me and my wife meet but we weren't quite ready to commit. After doing a few more walk-thru Kristina showed us a few lots and we were sold. She was very patient, polite and professional. Then she introduced us to Brian who my wife calls a house loan genius. He knew the answer to every question and was able to break everything down so we could understand based off our knowledge level. He was always a phone call away for us, he also would check up on us to see if we have stumbled on any questions, we forgot to ask. They made this entire process smooth and comfortable for us.
