After I paid for my house, I was looking for some kind of protection to when things might start happening. Also, I'm at that point now in my life where I can't hold a job down because of my handicap. So, I decided to get a HomeSafe warranty. Right now, I got things that I need to have fixed in the house such as my living room floor. I know that I got the policy, but I don't know how to go about doing filing a claim. Other than that, I love HomeSafe. I've never had to use it for anything but just knowing that I was smart enough to do something like that makes me feel good.

I had CarShield, and I got something from them about covering the home with HomeSafe, too. I signed up and have been using them for a couple of years now. Submitting a claim was easy. I do it online. A repairman came out the next day, did what he needed to do and got it fixed. So far, I'm pleased with HomeSafe.

I was thinking about getting some stuff done for appliances and deal with plumbing. I got a phone call from HomeSafe and the representative was good. They explained everything to me. They told me about how much money they give per item that you use. They went down on the price because I'm on a fixed income but the $150 down payment that you have to do when you call to get someone to come out to check things out is high. Other than that, having HomeSafe is a good thing because of the qualifications.
Carolyn, thank you for your review! We're glad our team took the time to work with you and help find a plan that fits your needs. We understand your thoughts about the service fee, and we're happy to hear you feel HomeSafe is worth having. If you ever have questions about your coverage, we're always happy to help.

I researched the top home warranty companies and HomeSafe WAS second in line. The top one was more expensive, so I went with HomeSafe. The representatives who assisted me in signing up were good and did not pressure me. They just presented their product, told me the type of things they cover, what the service call charge fee would be, and the premiums. The premiums are not bad but the service call charge is pretty high at $150. I'm on a fixed income, so I'm on Social Security, which is nothing. It's not even hardly a fixed income. So, for me, the service fees are high. But other than that, I had to use them once and they gave me a good company that did an outstanding job. The tech also made the comment that he enjoyed working with them and didn't want to lose their business. And for a home warranty company, that is huge.
Jan, finding the right home warranty takes a lot of research, so we're honored you chose HomeSafe! It's wonderful to hear your first service experience went so well and that you were connected with a contractor who made such a positive impression. We appreciate your honest feedback about the service fee, and thank you for taking the time to share your experience. After I took out a policy with HomeSafe, I lost one of my retirement pensions. I had to start looking for things to cut back because I lost half of my retirement pension. I had one claim in with HomeSafe, and I found out that there was a waiting period. But they sent somebody out, and I was happy with the response I got from them. They acted right away. I was happy with them, but I just had to cut back. I had to drop my cable and some other things until I get my situation, money-wise, under control here.
From what little business I had to do with HomeSafe, they seemed to be as good as anybody else, because I never had anybody else. The only thing is that they may have told me, but the coverage doesn't start for how many days. Something broke, and I put a claim in, and they sent somebody to fix it. He couldn't fix it. The tech was a good person too. He was a knowledgeable guy. He told me honestly that it would cost more. It was almost as much to fix this as it would be to replace it.
Long story short, HomeSafe contacted me and said they couldn't cover that because it was under the waiting period. I asked them if they were gonna replace my $150 deductible, and they didn't know the answer to that right away. Then I got an answer the next day saying, “Yes, we will put that back in your account." That was good. I didn't want a broken-down washer and pay out a $150 deductible, and start all over again. Other than that, everything was fine. I would recommend HomeSafe.
Terry, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand your concerns about the waiting period, and we're glad your service fee was refunded once it was determined the claim fell within that period. We appreciate your recommendation, and if you ever have any questions about your coverage, please contact HomeSafe at 1-800-332-4177. I had a different home warranty provider but switched to HomeSafe for the coverage and price. The $125 or $150 deductible could be a little less but other than that, the service is great. I don't have to worry about large out-of-pocket expense when something breaks. It's quick and easy. A repairman was out in a day or two. He came for the washing machine and for the microwave. He was great as well.
Mark, switching companies is a big decision, so we're thrilled HomeSafe has been a great fit for you! Knowing your repairs were handled quickly and that you had such a positive experience with your technician is exactly the kind of feedback that makes our day. I quit HomeSafe for a while, then I joined again. It just felt better to be protected. Their reps have been okay but I haven't had a qualified claim yet as they seem to find a way out of my claims. I had a furnace issue on a night when it was below zero and the circuit board in the furnace got burnt. It quit, so I had to have it replaced. I qualified it with HomeSafe and they had to pay the off-time rate. I sent their tech out to get it, then he came back and got my furnace up and running.
But when he wrote up the cause of the burning of the circuit board, he incidentally wrote at the end of the commentary possibly been caused by power surge. However, there was no power surge. So HomeSafe denied the claim because they don't cover power surges. But I told them that the tech only said possibly. He didn't say it was a power surge. They didn't care. I also had the repair guy rewrite the invoice with the description on it and leave the possibly power surge out because there was no power surge and it was an incidental comment that he just added on there that cost me the coverage. It was about $1,900. But HomeSafe still rejected it because it was on the first one. So they have more outs than they do claims paid with me.
Vernon, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand why you were disappointed with the outcome of your furnace claim. Coverage decisions are based on the information and diagnosis provided during the claim review, and once that information has been evaluated, any additional documentation is reviewed as part of the overall claim. Setting up HomeSafe was good and very pleasant. But when I filed a claim, I wasn’t so pleased with the person who came out. The guy was so loud that I could hardly understand what he was saying. They also took something that attaches to the furnace with them and left without it, so I had to call them back to bring it back. The door to the furnace was a little broken, and they didn’t even put the door back on right.
On top of that, they were trying to get more money from me. I was told that when they came out, it was $75, but they were trying to get $300. It was unbelievable. I told them that’s not what I agreed to in the contract. They said they didn’t cover that, and I told them that’s not what I was told and this is my contract. They ended up calling HomeSafe, and they were allowed to go ahead and fix it. But I only paid the 75. I’ve had another home warranty company, and other providers are calling me now. For the quality of service I’m getting, it’s probably about the same, but HomeSafe has been more economical.

I'm an older single women. Having this coverage is essential to living in my home alone. I was extremely dissatisfied with the wait time to actually process the claim. Customer service was answered fairly quickly, but when transferred to the agent that could actually file and start the claim, I was on hold for 42 minutes until they came on the call to process the claim. The process with the agent went kind of slow but I expected that because of them finding a service person to come to\ the tiny town I live in. I guess they need more employees in this department. I talked to whoever it was that I talked to with HomeSafe to sign up with, and of course they're going to make everything sound good. I said, “I've had problems with other companies. They say that they can't repair it or replace it.” Even with Choice Home Warranty, I had a call, and they would give me $195 for a $600 appliance. I said, “If they're going to replace it, I want something that's going to be replaced with something comparable,” and I don't know if any of them do that.
I've had HomeSafe for a month, and I thought $150 for a service call is too much. I canceled because I was looking at HomeSafe reviews and people pay $60 for service calls, while HomeSafe got me at $150. The service fees are ridiculous. I should have just told myself that initially, but I've tried two other companies before that, and the HomeSafe sign-up person that I talked to said, “Oh, no, we're really good. We're different. We'll replace things and all this other stuff.” But they all say that. I don't know if any of them actually do that or not. I don't know how good they are. Also, I don't remember the $150 thing. I thought it was $125, but I saw in my contract it was 150. But even 125 was high. With Choice Home Warranty, my service fee was $65. So, it was steep. I said, “I can probably get some of the things repaired for that.”
Dave, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. As repair and service costs have continued to change over time, service fees have also been adjusted. To help offset those changes, we've expanded the coverage available for many covered repairs and replacements to provide greater value to our customers. We appreciate your honest feedback and the opportunity to hear your perspective. We sincerely wish you all the best moving forward.

I started with HomeSafe, and then I immediately canceled after the language inside of their contract was too problematic. You have to provide records. Otherwise, everything's pre-existing. Also, if they replace an item, it belongs to them, and then it has to be properly maintained per their standard. And that's not okay with me. I didn't trust HomeSafe. I asked for a refund and as per the contract, they're not allowed to. They're allowed to keep a certain percentage. They refused to give me a refund, and then told me that they're going to let the service run for the rest of the month. I told them no and I just called and disputed the charge with my credit card.
Michael, we appreciate you sharing your concerns with us. Home warranty contracts are written to address a wide range of situations, so not every provision applies to every service request. Our Customer Service team is always available to help explain how your coverage applies to specific claims and answer any questions about your contract. I got appliances that have gone to that point where I realized that it was time for me to get a home warranty. It was affordable and I could do it. And when something goes out, it's easier to do it this way than to try to replace it. I was with America Auto before and I needed to change because I wasn't happy with them. My brother told me about HomeSafe and I trust him. Also, I didn't see a price that was better than what they offered, so I took their price. Signing up with them wasn't that hard. I asked a question about the deductible and they gave me everything I needed to know. They were straightforward on what I was getting and how they would go about the procedure. So, I understood what I was getting told.
Recently, something happened with my ceiling fan. It was very easy to submit the claim online and HomeSafe got back to me right away. They told me that they found a contractor and when they get in touch with me, they got some more things to go over. And when I get to them, they're going to let me know. Our home is getting old. We're going to be selling it soon. And it occurred to me: what if something were to go out just when we're in the middle of trying to sell it? We should have a warranty in case of that because it might jinx the sale. I looked around, and I found HomeSafe and thought that might be a good one. So I went with them.
I was getting some water leakage out of my evaporative cooler. It wasn't during the rain. It was something wrong with the evaporative cooler, swamp cooler. It was dripping on the floor and down the walls and ruining the carpet. I called HomeSafe and put in a claim, and then they said, "Sorry, sir, but our warranty does not cover evaporative coolers." Then I got their little booklet, went through it, and didn't see anything about evaporative coolers being not covered or being covered. It was left out. It wasn't in the list of things covered.
That annoyed me. Because when I was trying to decide whether or not to buy it, I thought that was covered. That was one of the things I was worried about. So, that was a disappointment. I realized it was my own fault because I hadn't carefully read every word in that booklet, and I didn't realize it wasn't covered. Because of that incident, I decided to cancel my HomeSafe and get something else, which I did. I looked in a booklet that said, "How to cancel." I had to write a letter, send it, and sign it, which I did. I canceled my HomeSafe warranty coverage. I went looking for another one.
In the meantime, I checked with AI about HomeSafe's reputation. I was told they had a bad reputation for many refusals, denials, delays, mix-up. And they just weren't being very good about handling claims. A lot of complaints about that. Then I found another home warranty company. And I checked with them, and they said they too did not cover evaporative coolers, and they didn't think anybody did. But he reminded me persuasively that I still needed the coverage on the other things in case there was a problem, like an electric stove, refrigerator, or furnace.
I canceled HomeSafe and kept that other one. I applied for a refund on HomeSafe. At least, tried to get them to stop taking the $54 a month out of my credit card 'cause I didn't want to continue to pay for it when I didn't want it, and I officially canceled it. And that was my concern. I don't think they're doing that. They did set my cancellation and stop taking the $54 a month out of my charge card. But they refused to give me any refunds.
Kenneth, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand why you were disappointed to learn your evaporative cooler was not eligible for coverage, and we appreciate your honest feedback. I'm a new customer with HomeSafe. I've only been with them for two months. Their rep called me and told me what they could provide and pointed out a couple of things that I was not aware of with who I was already with. I already made up my mind about canceling them. HomeSafe's rep told a good enough story that I went with them. I asked about the pricing and he gave me to somebody else. I worked with him. I told him what I was paying. Theirs was more expensive. If you have to have somebody come out to look at something, my cost is twice as much as what it would have been with the company I just fired. But I would rather pay a bit more and get it done than to pay the 75 and wait for six weeks.
Welcome to HomeSafe, Patricia! We're glad our team took the time to explain your options and helped you find a plan you felt comfortable with. Thank you for sharing your experience, and we appreciate the confidence you've placed in HomeSafe.

The rep was very convincing when we signed up with HomeSafe. We’ve filed claims about three times and when we called, they assigned someone to come out. The technician came out, figured out the problem and how much it was going to cost, and waited for HomeSafe to say yay or nay. Then, the parts were ordered and the tech came back except the last time. It was the same refrigerator issue that kept costing $800, and we couldn't see going through it again. We decided we needed to get rid of the fridge and HomeSafe agreed and sent us a check that helped us buy a new refrigerator, and we're happy campers. HomeSafe is awesome.
Now that's what we love to hear, Sarah! We're so glad we could help you find a solution that worked and get you back up and running with a new refrigerator. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we're grateful to have customers like you.

The previous resident here had HomeSafe. So, I decided to go with it for the moment. Signing up was simple and easy. Their rep was informative, and told me the details of what they cover and don’t cover. I like the fact that my appliances are going to be covered and they get 3 stars from me.
Welcome to HomeSafe, Mae! We're glad getting started was simple and that our team took the time to explain your coverage. Thank you for your feedback, and if you ever have any questions about your plan, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Our home warranty with another company was going out. We saw HomeSafe and decided to give it a shot because of CarShield. We have this home warranty for a year or two now, and they've been really good. Filing a claim with them is very easy. I just call, then they have someone come out and the people who come out do the job. Whenever I call HomeSafe, the people I speak to are so helpful and nice. They make you want to stay. Also, the techs usually come out quickly. One time, they came about the same day or the next day after I called in my claim. The techs we've had in our home were great and we had no problem. They were friendly and they explained whatever need to be explained.
Reading feedback like this makes our day, Melvin! It's wonderful to hear your claims have been easy to file, your service has been prompt, and you've had such great experiences with the technicians. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we look forward to continuing to serve you.

We had HomeSafe at our house before we sold our house. They were great! They paid claims for us several times. I love how they let you choose your own techs. When we bought our new house, one of the first things we did was sign up with HomeSafe again. They have great customer service, pay claims quickly, and are easy to work with! If you are trying to choose a warranty, choose Homesafe. We have truly been so happy with them!
Patty, thank you for such a thoughtful review! There's nothing better than knowing you trusted HomeSafe enough to come back when you moved into your new home. We truly appreciate your recommendation, and we're grateful for the opportunity to continue protecting your home.
