We signed a contract with agreed upon window dimensions (that matched some existing windows in our house) but without telling us they ordered all different sized windows (significantly smaller), which I refused to let them try and install. They then told me they were cancelling the contract due to pre-existing rot (which they were fully aware of and was the main reason I was getting them replaced in the first place) and that I am liable for all of their costs incurred to date… for windows I never agreed to buy!!! We can’t actually believe that this is happening, so please be aware if considering them for any contract work!

The installation is worse than I could have imagined. For months I have tried to escalate to no avail. There is no way to speak to anyone higher than the local employees to resolve issues. Nothing was installed correctly and they have come back several times and don’t know how to do it correctly.

Impact windows installed and a few months later a regular rain entered inside track of home, was told they are made this way and that weep holes are there for water to exit. This was not disclosed to me at any time during the sales pitch, yet they lie and say they will fix anything that goes wrong and want customer satisfied. I would have kept my 50year old windows that never leaked during Hurricane Ian had I known I end up with this problem. PGT windows also arrived with defective beading and looked terrible but they were replaced. I have pictures during installation showing big gap between window and wall which is very poor and incorrect technique.
Failed window inspection because installer did not put in correct amount of screws. Months later Specialist came to home at my request/complaints and he said the wrong caulking material was used for outdoors, it was very tacky/ gooey and moves under light touch. Home depot refuses to acknowledge poor installation and insist it is ok that normal rain comes in, hate to see what happens in a bad storm. DO NOT RECOMMEND HOME DEPOT SERVICES OR PRODUCTS.

DO NOT USE HOME DEPOT AT HOME SERVICES especially for hurricane windows and doors. If you do use them do not get your permit closed out until you are 100 % satisfied with the job. if you do they will run you over to their warranty division and start requesting final payment. if you don't pay in full for an incomplete project they will not even fix the problems. our project it's not complete after 18 months of waiting and rescheduling, of lies and promises they convinced us to get the inspection so we could move on with our remodeling.
They told us not to worry and they would make it right. they promised compensation for painted windows that we were told were extruded, doors that d not lock properly, broken screens, plaster patches that does not match our house and is already cracking. Quality of the PGT WINDOWS is terrible. Windows installed at different heights and depths. their installation manager, Denvil, is the worst. I have emailed the CEO and no response. 4 or 5 subcontractors that one was worse then the other. anyone know a good lawyer?

I purchased doors for my home after picking out everything I wanted. I was told I would receive a email once ALL ITEMS FOR MY DOOR INSTALLATION was in and I did. The day of installation (today) they were due to come between 12 and 2 in the afternoon. Once it was 1:30, I started calling the store. After five calls and asking to speak with store manager Anora. He walked to door department so I could speak with someone. I forgot to mention, I called installation department and left three messages because OF COURSE no one answered the phone. I spoke with Vince who Anora told I was on the phone needing to talk about my installation. Vince said one of my items came in wrong and installer didn't know until this morning before he started his installation routes for today. I took off work today (missing income) and doors aren't going to be installed today.
I am now waiting on a call from Vince who claims he'll call me back once he speaks with installer to what will now happen. THERE'S A TREMENDOUS LACK OF COMMUNICATION and EMPATHY FOR my HUGE INCONSIDERATION. NOTHING WAS OFFERED OFF my ticket that has already BEEN PAID IN FULL or any type of compensation due to their ** UP and my doors NOT BEING INSTALLED and NOT ONE PERSON in entire department contacting me the customer to INFORM ME ON ANY/EVERYTHING. Y'ALL (HOME DEPOT) NEED TO STRIVE TO DO BETTER!!!!

The below is my experience and my opinion. We are building a new house and decided to order windows and doors from Home Depot. However, this windows and external door order has been a nightmare from the beginning. The millwork specialist in the Issaquah store never showed up for our appointment and we found out that he had a dentist appointment during that time. At the Missoula store, we received a text message ten minutes before the appointment letting us know that the millwork specialist won't be in for the appointment.
We then met with a pro desk employee at that store who helped us out as much as possible. We placed the order at the end of April and three months later, we are still waiting for the doors. The delivery has now been rescheduled multiple times. Each time we call there is a different excuse; no timeslot available, driver in overtime, the delivery truck broke down, etc. and the latest one, today August 3, 2023, I was told that the driver returned to the store and resigned on the spot. All the manager says is that she is working on it. We also placed a lumber order around the same time. The lumber is mediocre and many boards are so split that they are not useable or safe for a building. We will avoid any special orders with HD in the future and spend our money at local business instead.

Home Depot advertises Andersen Windows, but how does one purchase and get them installed? Oh wait. How does one get Bob ** to send you the quote. Two months, later, frequent trips in person to the store, phone calls, nothing! Granted, it included a custom window, but that is why I went with Andersen brand. Promises of emails, "by tonight, by tomorrow night, by...Never." Complaint to Andersen itself, and I was told sellers get a direct number to call, so that blew Bob's one of many excuses. Not having much better luck with the two other dealers Andersen recommended so Marvin windows are looking pretty good.

It took about a year for Home Depot to install 9 replacement windows. The original installers looked at the old windows, decided they didn't know how to replace them, and left. Months later, a new crew came and did all the work in a single day and left the cleanup to two guys who didn't speak English. When I looked at the job from the outside, it was horrible! Cement trim was wavy and uneven everywhere, so I called and it took a couple of weeks for them to review what they did. They agreed it was sloppy. They sent two more non-English speaking guys who didn't know what to do, so they left. A week later, two more of the same and they dripped cement all over my garage floor, which dried into lumpy cement messes. Their patch job was horrible too. They also let my dogs out of the dog yard by leaving the gate open. Took hours to round them up.
Again, a few weeks after I complained, they came back to somewhat repair the work, to scrape up the cement blobs from the other workers, and to finish the inside trim. They didn't order enough trim, they didn't caulk the inside and left gaps in the wood. That took another two months. I was really losing my patience, but they know how to handle customer complaints,... they pass the buck and say someone will get back to you, which doesn't happen. Seems like everyone has a specific task and there is nobody to make a decision. Anyway, the trim eventually came and it was once again, wrong. They came back with more, finally had enough and some of it is now falling down from the tops of the windows.
Let me tell you about the windows themselves... the impact windows have a green tint, so water in the backyard doesn't look blue, it's a dark green or brown. We were told that they were thermal, but a temperature reading next to the window is about 90 degrees on the inside. They don't save money. They are supposed to be UV proof, but I can still grow plants in the windows. Needless to say, they are just okay and not worth the money.
I'm getting calls from a person who says they are a permit company hired by Home Depot and they want my drivers license and other personal information in order to extend or complete the permit process. I find that unacceptable. I am not texting a photo of my driver's license to an unknown person on the phone. I received a letter saying the permit was finished, so I don't know who or why I am being bothered with this.
I have a balance due with Home Depot, and they call me regularly to put the rest on my Home Depot card, but I asked them at least three times to have a manager call me. I asked for a 10% discount for a crappy job and a year worth of grief. I figured that was fair. They already have $4,000 of my money and it's paid in full. Three times they said a manager would call me, but that never happened, so I stopped answering the calls.
I took pictures and have copies of all the correspondence. I don't know what their next move will be, but I am prepared to go to court over this. Customer service doesn't seem to exist at Home Depot in Florida. Anyway, thanks for listening. Use Home Depot to buy tools or lumber, not for doors and windows. Get somebody who doesn't hire the cheapest help they can find.

Got our windows replaced (whole house, 28 windows and 2 patio doors) in 2018. Windows have leaked since that time, and we’ve spent that time (yes 5 years) through 100s of calls and emails trying to get Home Depot just to call us back, not to mention to come out and fix it. Their customer service and responsiveness is horrible and they refuse to accept responsibility for their mistakes. They finally call us back (yes in 2023) arrange to come fix it (3 times we were ghosted, reps came to the house to tear apart our windows on the inside and left us with their mess) then today come to fix it and tell us that siding is breaking because windows were not installed properly and siding has to be pulled in order to fix it, and now it is a liability claim. Not to mention having to replace the house wrap and the water damage to our dry wall in the house as well.
However, Home Depot is saying they are going to replace only a section of the siding around the windows which is going to leave my house with mismatched siding, unless I pay for the additional siding so my house matches, all because of a bad window install. They should be replacing all of my siding and not leaving me with mismatched siding on my home for their mistakes. I already know by posting this I will simply get a drafted, scripted reply from a Home Depot customer service representative versus a decision maker that actually wants to make things right and help us with this disaster… which again proves our above situation. I’d recommend staying far far away from Home Depot Home Services.

We spent over $20,000.00 for 21 windows in our home. The manufacture and delivery of the initial 11 of those 21 windows was botched. Only 5 were delivered. The other 6 were not in the order. The installation of those 5 windows was late and the final trim work was horrible. Louis, the installer, left me low-grade, unstained, and unmitered wood to stain myself and hang. DHM Construction had to repair Louis' work. DHM Construction also installed the other 10 windows ordered last year for our 2nd floor. The windows were installed and caulked from the inside & without the use of a ladder. On 12/25/22, a cold front with wind gusts of 40 mph blew outside and 13 windows began whistling in our home. The whistling continues every time the winds get gusty where we live.
After repeated & recent attempts to contact Matt **, Ed **, and Brandon **, Home Depot reps/contractors, THE DEFECTIVE WINDOWS HAVE NOT BEEN REPAIRED OR REPLACED!!! NONE OF THESE REPS HAS RETURNED OUR CALLS FOR HELP!. This intentional disregard of a problem with a Home Depot product by Home Depot reps is shameful. As a result of this terrible incident, which continues to go unresolved, I will never buy another home product from The Home Depot!!!

Rating would be '0' if it was an option. Subject: Whole Home Window (Simonton) Purchase + Patio Door (~$25k purchase). Year long event, started with false/misleading information from the salesman to a current 'full settlement proposal' from a THD district Install service resource. I have a worksheet clearly noting every event and the durations before responses/actions.
This would seem great, if I could get past the below facts: * Quality of EVERY window, agreed to by several THD reps who came on site to review my org claims * Incorrect Energy Star ratings on several windows * Casement window that is still inoperable, opening mechanism broke on second opening - THD was made aware on multiple occasions * 3-Panel Patio Door Specifics: ***Opened the WRONG WAY ***Patio door screen will not stay on tracks - yes, I had adjusted to the max height compensation *** Install of PD had the center, locking pillar, drilled thru - exposing the screw tip in VIEW * MOLD BUILD UP on windows, assumingly die to poor/broken seals of windows allowing moisture to drip and settle on inside. Funny, once I presented pictures of the incorrect window energy rating and mold that THD took the actions to fully refund the purchase - but again, I am facing WORSE conditions than what I had, and now facing higher costs a year later!

Too many problems to list. Windows installed wrong, did not pass inspection, and on our phone call with installer he said we told him to install them wrong. Very funny. Then the process of not communicating with us and not returning calls and not following up. Today finally fixed trim, tiny fix to finish, and the guy throws trash all over for us to pick up. Plus person to fix window after inspection fail lied and said he was an installer (found out he only measures), so now we wonder about the long term for the window. Original sales person was stand up, but despite his attempts to help his people would not respond. Very disappointing experience.

I paid in full for my windows and doors in February and was 12 weeks out. Here it is December 4th and was given another arrival date. They spent almost three months getting the measurements correct only to accept the original measurements. I have for many months had to call myself for updates. They seemed to not be in any hurry. Now they are planning to install possibly December 19th. They broke a door and did not receive the correct half round window with the proper internal grids. Constant delays for many reasons. Way too much finger pointing and absolutely no communication skills. I have even talked with the sales person's boss and that did not get anywhere. I will never use them again for my remaining windows. I even asked if I will get some sort of compensation for being delayed month after month after month. Never did the Boss say anything to the fact.

My wife and I hired Home Depot to replace our windows and doors in the back of the house with hurricane-impact windows and doors on October 2020. When the Home Depot salesman came to talk to us about their product, I asked him two questions, was Home Depot using their own employees and was the job going to be finished by December of 2020. His answer was yes to both questions. It wasn't until January 14, 2021, that we received an email from Home Depot informing us that they were ready for the installation, lie number one.
When the installers arrived at our house we realized they were not Home Depot employees but subcontractors, lie number two. A contract amendment was made via email on November 10, 2020, that required all the French Doors to open on the left side. Out of the three sets of French Doors, the one in our bedroom opens on the right side. It has taken almost two years for this small project to be completed, some of the problems we encountered were poor workmanship on the part of the subcontractors that came to our house and other problems have been the incompetence showed by the real Home Depot employees that handled the order of the parts needed for our house.
The installers installed the wrong French Door in our living room, damaged the edges of the two windows in the kitchen and the master bedroom. Every time they had to reorder these parts it would take another four months to come in. Every time the installers had to come back to fix something that was done incorrectly my wife and I would take time off from work to be at the house. The above-mentioned two windows by the master bedroom were ordered twice by Home Depot. The first time they had ordered the wrong windows, the second time the windows arrived with some damaged. We would find out once the installers would get to our house and determine that there was a problem. Why wasn't this checked at the warehouse before they brought the windows in? Hence the reason I mentioned incompetence. Out of frustration I contacted Home Depot and requested not to replace the master bedroom windows and instead give us a credit.
Finally, almost two years later Home Depot called the county for a final inspection. When the inspector came in he noticed that one of the kitchen windows was missing the sticker required by the county for insurance purposes and he failed the final inspection. Home Depot hired a paper runner and he showed up with a sticker. Once again an inspector was scheduled for the final inspection and once again it was denied because the sticker the runner had placed on our window had nothing to do with our windows. The runner came back, installed another sticker and the third inspection passed.
We requested that Home Depot replace the French Doors in our bedroom to match the rest of the French Doors per our agreement or give us a credit for their mistake and also give us a credit for the two windows in the master bedroom that were never replaced. Home Depot is not willing to take care of us the customer.Based on our experience, no one in our family or friends will hire Home Depot anymore.

We first signed the papers to purchase our impact windows in October of 2021. It is now November of 2022 and the job remains unfinished. The installation did not take place until April but we were willing to wait because we knew there were many delays due to supply chain issues. However, on the day(s) of the install, the installation team not only shattered one of our old windows and did a shoddy job cleaning up (leaving pieces of glass on our floor when we have a dog, a baby and a toddler in the house), but also left dirty handprints on a window that was so high up it needed a scaffold to be installed (so obviously cannot be cleaned by anyone else now). They also did not have 3 of the screens needed.
After 4 months, no one had called about scheduling an inspection. I had called, emailed, etc numerous times and FINALLY got them to schedule someone to come out for the inspection. At the inspection it was noted that the stickers they left on the windows were on the OUTSIDE instead of the inside, and therefore could not be removed. When you open the windows, the stickers become covered and cannot be removed, so you'd need a 2 story ladder to do it. So 7 months after installation, we still have stickers covering portions of our windows.
We still do not have the missing screens, as when they finally sent someone out to build them, he was sent with screens that were too small. He also showed up unannounced (home depot was supposed to call to schedule, they never did). He also did not have the screw caps he was supposed to have to fill in the holes in our door they installed. He also did not have a ladder to use to take off the stickers. So that was all in all useless. It's now been another few weeks and no one answers my emails or calls. I haven't written a review until now because I keep wanting to give them time to fix this but I've had enough. I still have to pay my bill every month, and yet here we are...

On 4/13/21 an HD sales rep came to our house, took measurements for 6 impact windows and 1 set of impact patio doors. We paid in full that day. We were told all items would be installed on 7/12/21. On 7/15/21 the installers could not install the living room window (lost), the master bedroom window (cracked), the master bathroom window (too big), the patio doors (wrong swing). Only three bedroom windows were installed, leaving the project not even half done. After the failed install, we heard nothing from anybody at Home Depot. We called the Home Depot and were told it was the problem of the 3rd party installers and there was nothing they could do.
We were finally able to arrange a 3rd measure to confirm all the measurements were correct and the swing of the door correct before the order was sent out. After 4 months without any calls from Home Depot, we called to confirm the information on the 3rd measure, only to be told (8 months after the initial contract signing) that the patio doors could not be produced. At that point we were handed off to an HDIS Sales Manager, and we agreed to a refund for the canceled patio doors. This was 1/6/22. However, a refund check was never sent.
The installation coordinator kept telling us that they were waiting on installers. It wasn't until 7/11/22 when we left a voicemail pointing out the ridiculous treatment of our project, that we finally heard back from anyone. And surprise, on 7/14/22 they came out and put the living room window in. Then on 7/18/22 they put the master bedroom and bathroom windows in. That they were able to come out immediately tells us they could have installed these windows much sooner than they did. The master bathroom window is missing the screen. The installers destroyed all of the drywall on the inside window frames. They finished the last two windows using clear caulking instead of white which would have matched the other 4 windows installed by Home Depot.
On 8/25/22, Home Depot tried to make us sign a non-disclosure agreement in order to receive our money back from the door that we paid for and they did not deliver. We went through Home Depot because we thought being a well-established business, we would not have a lot of hassle if something went wrong. BOY, WERE WE WRONG!!! RUN RUN RUN away from the Home Depot and anything to do with installation! Our windows are an absolute mess and we have not been compensated for the 1 ½ year nightmare they have put us through.

THE HOME DEPOT -- Window replacements are junk. I have had zero luck with the window replacements Home Depot sells. The sashes were defective after only 2 years, losing their seals. When getting replacement sashes for the replacement windows they finally came after 10 weeks defective (bent/warped sash frames, and not properly sized) from the factory so another re-order. Taking 8 to 10 weeks to re-order the 3rd set. COVID is not the issue, it is the defective sashes being manufactured then installed by gosh who knows who that HD has hired.
The regional manager has lied to us numerous times saying he wants to come and take a look at the problem, then is a no show or call back with explanation as to why he didn't even show up!! I suggest going with a local company in your area that can give you a quicker turnaround time than the huge box-store HD and hopefully won't lie to you. Customer Service reps are good people but caught in the middle as always with companies like this. Will update on 3rd set of sashes when they arrive!

Their installer came by really did nothing, on his last trip to my home he handed me 4 tubes of silicone!!! I was on my own! I reached out to Andersen many many times. They told me they would send their best inspector. We live on the bay and that’s the excuse the inspector used for all my damage. He put in his report the damage was from super storm Sandy!!!! We were very lucky with that storm, and only has many 1/4” of water in the bedroom facing the bay.
My house is two storeys. 3 of the French doors are upstairs with 7 windows. If the water rose that high the house would be gone. With those lies from their inspector they told me they would do nothing. I heard & read many reviews having the same problems! That’s why they came up with Renewal By Andersen & have their own professional installers now and end of their complaints. With all that said I’m a landlord & I used Home Depot for all my properties. Home Depot at Miramar, Haileah and Pembroke Pines do not want to help the customers find materials. Customer Service representative at the Pines store was unprofessional, rude, and lacked the necessary knowledge to be proactive. I was searching for Veranda vinyl fence panels. Multiple stores showed in the system they had many, yet they kept telling me all they had was what was on display. Lumber personnel were dismissive and had the aisles messy with large materials all over the floors causing safety hazards. Finally, after getting the manager at the Pines store, the panels were found. I had to drive to 3 stores searching because employees were too lazy, disorganized, and careless to bring down the pallets. At the Pines stores they sent me to the university store. That's when I called the manager.
They had me driving around south Florida until I called a manager. This person took action and went out back to find the panels. She was the only person there that was attentive and professional. Home Depot is not was it used to be... Very disorganized aisles, dangerous with many safety hazards. Rude staff, long lines of over an hour at customer service. The company seems like it's going under at rapid speed. Many family and friends have shared similar stories. From now on my store of choice will be Lowell's for building and garden material. We ordered multiple windows and a sliding glass door. When they finally arrived, took months, one was cracked and the installer had measured the door wrong. The window did not have screens. The installer stuck our windows in with a "few" screws, leaving a 1 inch gap behind the nail fin, which precluded proper installation of the window trim. He literally used a pry bar and a sledgehammer to force the sliding glass door into the opening, despite my asking him to stop and order the correct sized door. The door is twisted and warped, and jumps the track in operation due to this. The handleset was also the wrong color, least of the issues. The crack in the one slider has spread throughout the entire pane.
Home Depot promised to order the correct door. Home Depot sent another contactor out to review the issues who was appalled at the incorrect installation. Home Depot promised to pay this contactor to come out and reinstall the windows and the door when the "correct sized" door arrived. Home Depot did not DO ANY OF THESE THINGS. We spent all last winter with the wind literally blowing into our home around these windows and door. The trim is not installed, and the sealant used on the inside separated within 24 hours due to the windows flexing and expanding as a consequence of the improper installation. They do not return calls, make promises they do not keep, don't show up when they say they will. They lied that they would make this right.
I had to file a dispute with my credit card company to protect my rights, and 8 months later I am attempting to get my broken window warranted directly from the manufacturer AND seeking a contractor to come and reinstall my windows and remove and replace the door. The exterior of my stucco home has exposed wire and paper, and no trim for 8 full months now, and counting. This has been a NIGHTMARE. And since Home Depot is the installer of record I am in a bind with the manufacturer as they defer to the installer for warranty issues.

I am leaving the review for Home Depot Window replacement and installation service. If there is negative stars review available, they definitely deserve it. I ordered my window replacement back in Oct 2020, and now (March 2022) I am still waiting for my window project to be completed. The window team always has excuses like the supply chain issue. Also, they are not responsive and do know their clients' work status at all. I would say even though there is some supply chain issue, a delay of ONE AND HALF year is not acceptable in any situation, even everyone in the team dies for some reasons.

I would give less than one star if I could. They measured window opening wrong, give me a small size window that is being patched up with 2x4(s) at the bottom, foam seal around, and quarter rounds inside to cover their mistakes. Very poor craftsmanship. Have been in dispute with them for more than a year. In addition, they would not own up to their mistake about wrong measurements and neither would they take their product back. Now they are threatening to take me to collection and mess up my credit rather than resolving the matter. Who would have thought a large company like Home Depot to behave so badly!!!

In early November 2021, (the 13th or the 14th) I ordered a set of shower doors from Home Depot online and got a date of a week from the order for delivery. Friday the 19th would be perfect for a store pick-up. I promised my customer that I would have them installed by the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, 24 November 2021. (This was the final step in the bathroom remodel that included the removal of of a cast iron tub, installing a shower pan, tile work, painting etc.) The shower doors were warehoused in Dallas already! They had to go from the HD warehouse less than 60 miles to the Denton HD Retail store. The madness of Black Friday was approaching but the chances seemed very good that I could get the doors in time to make the deadline 10 days in the future.
Wrong, wrong, so very wrong! I ended up buying the doors at "my" local Denton HD store but they cost an extra $66, from $304 to $370. HD can't keep their delivery promise but I can make it right with my customer by paying 22% more. I did it (paid the extra $66 plus tax) but I would like my money back. That seems to be a reasonable request. The shiny side of the coin is the Denton HD store employees are a truly conscientious group of hardworking people. It wasn't their fault in the least, but they got several in person visits from me saying "where are my doors". For them, I gave a 2-star rating instead of a 1-star evaluation.

In July 2021, we signed the paperwork with Carlton **, Senior Design Consultant @ Home Depot, for window replacement/installation project in our summer house in Monticello, NY. I opened a Home Depot credit card as part of the deal and began repaying the deposit for this project (09/08 - $500; 10/07/ - $200; 11/09 - $200; $900.00 all together). In August, we got our windows measured by another Home Depot employee. In October, we scheduled the date for installation - 11/20, Saturday. We were very specific about a Saturday appointment as we live in Brooklyn and can only come every other Saturday. For the past three weeks (before 11/20), we would get reminders a few times a week - via text messages, e-mails, and voice mails - about the upcoming installation date asking us to be in the house between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. and reminding us about the importance of removing everything 3 feet away from the windows.
As law abiding and loyal customers, we came Friday night (11/19) to follow the instructions. At 8:00 (!!!) a.m., we got a phone call from an installation department manager who told us that they had to cancel an appointment since they didn't have installation crew... He did not apologize and failed to answer when I asked him if he had found out about that issue at 7:55 a.m. on Saturday. We were upset to the point my husband had to take his high blood pressure medication and pain relief pills. It was so unacceptable and unprofessional on the Home Depot!

This painstaking endeavor began over 10 months ago. Poor transport of products by the installer caused scratches on the products. The installation took place over six months ago and only one month ago we had an inspection. I am still waiting for the Installer to return to finish up. Home Depot has the worse Installation Services. They are liars, they laugh at your face, never deliver on their promises, you call and leave messages for a return call that never happens. This company is a joke, it is a disrespect to the customers, they can cause you to have a nervous breakdown. Began the process to have a new front door installed just before the Covid shutdown of 2020. Paid a fee to have a rep come to my home and take measurements. This was completed within a week or so. Then the country shut down, people ordered to saty home, business closed etc. Never finished front door process. Went to Home Depot today to inquire about finishing the purchase and install. Was told I would have to start over and pay again to have the door measured. I stated that it was nonsense. The door had not changed nor did the previous measurements and I should not have to pay another fee to have the door measured again. Then I was told the previous information "drops off the computer after a year."
C'MON MAN, that's a crock of **. Info doesn't just "drop off" of computers. This is a total scam and rip off. I left the store and informed them I would go to Lowe's to get my door. Just out of principle. Not paying Home Depot a second time to measure the same door. Total **. And it's more nonsense that I can't find an email address for the corporate personnel. Obviously because they don't want to be bombarded by similar complaints.

If I could give ZERO stars I would! I made the mistake of calling Home Depot to get a quote for new windows for my historic home in Portland. I knew I wanted wood windows to replace the 100 yr old windows I currently have. After the sticker shock of the ridiculously high prices, I went ahead and ordered new windows for the bedrooms only. This was in May 2021. Months go by with delays and I get a call the windows are in! They sent a contractor to install them and he refused to wear a mask and used the word "plandemic" to describe the Covid19 pandemic. I had asked that they send a vaccinated and masked installer which they did not do. They also did not have all the windows.
I took two days off to deal with the windows and did not get the windows since they failed to mention they did not have them all. Another month goes by and they call claiming to have all the windows. They sent a different installer and I took the two days off to get the windows installed. This time, I learn one of the windows they ordered was completely wrong and another window I needed never got ordered! The customer service is horrible. They sent a guy to my house to smooth things over and he promised a rush order for the two windows remaining to complete my order. He promised I would have them within a month and definitely before Thanksgiving.
On Oct 8, I received a call from Home Depot Installation Services that the windows will not be in until the third week of January 2022! When I reached out to the Installation Manager, he blamed it on the manufacturer. Once they get the sale, Home Depot does not care about the customer. The contractors they use are terrible. They damaged my home and have not made it right. I recommend going through a reputable window company to order new windows and never Home Depot.

First off contacted Home Depot in June. Took 4 weeks for them to send someone to see what I needed done and to take measurements etc. Then over the next 2 1/2 months mix up after mix up with them going to the wrong city with the an incorrect address for permit. Finally after 4 months the installer comes and immediately complains because it is a big job with lots of labor. I say that is why I'm having a professional do it and why I had someone come out to assess it before placing order.
4 1/2 hrs later I find out that part of the framing is wood. The reason for the door and frame replacement is D/T weather damage to wood. I was assured by the gentleman that came out that everything would be weatherproof. IT'S NOT!!. The door itself is all scratched up, looks much older and more worn than the one I had there, scratches and dings on my walls. WILL NEVER USE Home Depot OR RF INSTALLERS AGAIN.

Steve B. -Salem Oregon. Home Depot Windows and window installation team was absolute garbage. We ordered the higher end version of the Simonton Windows with the installation being provided by Home Depot. A total of 19 windows were being replaced during our home remodel. The original order and contract was Feb of 2021 with a deliver date of March 2021. Our windows didn’t arrive until June of 2021 pushing our construction remodel way past our original completion date with our GC.
When the windows did arrive with the installation Team we learned they were a subcontractor “Not Home Depot Service Employees” as promised. I questioned the installation of the windows several times since they did not arrive with the installation nailing flange as was ordered. They indicated everything was fine and not to worry. However once they were complete and my GC returned to finish the siding we learned the windows were installed incorrectly according to my GC. So he had to reinstall all the windows using correct flashing material prior to his team installing the siding on the house. We had 3 windows with damaged sashes and 1 window exterior pain was broke on arrival.
It's now October and we still can't get them back on site for the replacements and repairs. On top of that we had to pay for all the windows and installation in advance since we were using our Home Depot credit card. My recommendation is use a quality manufacturer and one of their licensed representative companies that professionally provides windows and their installation as their primary business function. Don’t use a big box store.

As stated by others, Home Depot should just stick to selling products and not installing them. I had a disastrous experience with a window installation that never happened. Sales person came to my home at my request and we ordered windows that were to be installed by Home Depot. I paid a 25% deposit and scheduled an install date. The day prior to my install I took down all of my blinds and drapes, moved furniture, and made the necessary preparations that were requested by them. They gave me a 2 hour window for their arrival time, 8am-10am. By 10:15am, when they still had not arrived I called the scheduling dept. I was told that my install date had been changed and they were not scheduled to come that day. No one ever informed me. So I called the salesperson who sold me the windows, he apologized, and since it was Friday afternoon, said he would get back to me on Monday. I heard nothing from anyone for almost an entire month.
The only reason someone called me is because I disputed the deposit with my credit card company and they notified Home Depot. I then received a call from the scheduling manager who told me I already had another install date scheduled. Once again, no one had contacted me to schedule anything. When I wanted to simply cancel my order several other managers got involved and we came to an agreement and I was given a discount. So the install was back on. I went through the process again of preparing the for the install, blinds, drapes, moving furniture, etc. Once again, the installers never showed up. I called the managers I had made the deal with only 24 hours prior, only to be told that the schedule had changed again, and I hadn't been informed, again.
At this point I had taken a day off work for the initial install date, and now had gotten up extra early on a Saturday and wasted half the day waiting. They wasted enough of my time and I cancelled the entire install. Home Depot uses subcontractors and there is simply a huge disconnect between Home Depot sales people, scheduling department and the subcontractors. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of using Home Depot to install anything in your home. They're good at selling stuff, and that's about it.

Home Depot is the worst company I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Not only did their sales representatives (Mark) outright lied to me but even told me he had misrepresented what he had told me during the time of the sale. After being completely convinced that I would receive the product I had sold I was then called by the installation manager who informed me that they could not/would not be able to give me what they sold me. Tim offered a credit for some blinds (unknown amount) he would not disclose the amount, so I declined his offer and to be honest I wouldn't have expected it anyways because I still had windows in my house that was not what I had asked for.
They use your windows that are already in your home and just remove the old window sash and set the new windows inside of the old. After the installation guy left the sealing/face tape around the windows fell off. They have not sent replacement tape nor have they came back out to reinstall the windows correctly. I will not pay another cent until I get the Product and Installation I was Promised. Worst company ever. NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING! Each installer sent to my home said something completely different than the last one. We had to have 3 different sets of doors ordered (each taking 8-10 weeks to make) and none of the doors ordered were correct! The blame shifted and passed the buck on Home Depot (whom they are contracted through) and 9 months later we still have no doors even though each installer double checked the order Home Depot made each time and said we were good to go. There is a massive disconnect between Home Depot and Lex Construction (the only installer they contract with) as no one seems to know what they are doing and everyone says something different and blames each other. THEY NEED TO GET IT TOGETHER AS THE INCOMPETENCE IS SEVERE AND VERY REAL!!!
We finally had enough and cancelled our order after they dropped the ball for a third time. The last straw being doors ordered were too big and now missing the necessary hardware to install. The installer’s customer service is the worst I have ever experienced which added insult to injury. Supervisors Holly and Hailey are completely rude and a nightmare to deal with as is every installer we dealt through this painstaking process. Home Depot is just as bad as we are now told we have to wait until the installer returns the doors to them in order for us to get a refund. Unbelievable!!! We charged on our home depot credit card and have been paying for 9 months on doors we never received and will never get at this point and they can’t do the right thing and refund us our money?? DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU HAVE 9 MONTHS TO WASTE AND WANT NOTHING BUT AGGRAVATION. I would give zero stars if that was an option.

I called him right back and texted him within 5 minutes. He never returned any of my calls or text messages. I left numerous messages...the only person who communicated with me was Krista the Installation Coordinator, but she left for vacation for two weeks. I tried over and over to reach someone about rescheduling the inspection.
After a few emails, someone finally responded that they were letting a manager know about the inspector not returning calls. We decided to cancel based on the very poor customer service and lack of communication. Over 6 weeks later, I still haven't received a call from a Sales Manager regarding when we should be receiving our deposit back. We were told the Installation would be finished no longer than 6 weeks. It took the 6 weeks just to get an appointment for another person to come measure, again. We found out the windows would not be done until the end of February, possibly even March. We met with the salesman and paid a nice deposit on November 3rd.
We are extremely disappointed. We went through Home Depot to get our kitchen countertop and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. This was a completely opposite experience. I purchased 9 Simonton 6500 windows from HD. The warranties vary by windows however, these come with a Lifetime Warranty Installation and Double Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty so this is transferable to the next resident. The windows were poorly installed initially. We had leaking in a few of the windows resulting in rotted trim. We have continued to contact HD to fix the issues through Installation Services and Customer Care.
In April, they sent out two Certified HD Exteriors representatives to assess our windows. They were shocked at the installation of the windows and determined each window would need to be reset, new wood trim around each window to replace the plastic snap trim which should not have been used, caulked and paint the new trim. They determined the proper shims or supports were not used during the initial installation. As a result, one of the windows is sagging or "smiling" at the bottom. We are also experiencing severe drafts through the windows and continue to have to reposition the plastic snap trim because it snaps out of place.
We were planning to replace the siding on two sides of the house and wanted to coordinate this project with the windows. The HD installers told us to leave the wood trim off around those windows since they would be replacing it. We coordinated the siding project to complete the week prior to our scheduled date with the contracting company for HD on July 28. Our siding was complete on July 21. Duct tape was placed around the windows since the wood trim was scheduled to be installed less than a week out. The old trim was too worn to reinstall.
The week the HD contractors was scheduled to complete our work order, the Crew Manager called to let us know one of the installers had been hospitalized with heat exhaustion and they would have to reschedule. Subsequently, their workload was pushed back and the 60 days expiration on approved projects set by HD had been met. The Crew Manager told us he would have to send the work order back to HD for approval.
Since August, we have been calling and e-mailing HD in an effort to get this resolved. We have been ignored repeatedly. We even filed a BBB complaint and they denied our request stating we nullified the warranty. These are the 3 reasons given by the HDIS Mgr:
1. We painted the windows. I sent pictures of the windows showing that it is caulk smeared on the plastic trim by their installers and not paint.2. We needed to maintain yearly caulking. In the warranty, it states caulking is the responsibility of the homeowner. We have applied caulk but no amount of caulk can fix windows missing proper shims or supports which should have been installed during the initial installation.
3. The labor is under warranty for only 1 year. The warranty clearly states Lifetime Warranty on Installation for as long as you own your home in the Peace of Mind brochure and the Simonton Warranty for the 6500 series.
I called the HD store and spoke with someone in the windows department. He verified the windows installation is backed by a lifetime warranty on the installation. This warranty is also front and center on their website and in their literature. During the confusion of having the work order approved for the second time, HD sent it to a different contracting company. The Certified HD Exteriors Representative from this company had the same assessment as the first installers who came out in April. So, three representatives from two different contracting companies had the same conclusion about our improperly installed windows. We found out from a HD employee, all of the employees involved in windows including salespeople, were fired from HD in January 2020. This action indicates there are many issues with their windows installation department.
I posted on Nextdoor, asking for recommendations to have our wood trim replaced and posted about our unsatisfactory experience with HD. The General Manager of the local HD store replied to my post. He said he wanted to help us resolve the issue. I sent him a detailed e-mail, including photos. It was the same information we have been trying to escalate through Installation Services and Customer Care at HD. In less than week, he told us he was unable to get anything accomplished and they told him to remove himself from the process and he should not even be speaking with us. I asked him if he could at least spot us the wood trim, paint and caulk since we would now need to pay for those items and the installation and resetting of our windows out of our own pocket. He said he would have to think about it and did not respond.
Currently, I have duct tape on five of my windows and no resolution with HD. HD needs to remove the lifetime warranty from their website and literature since they do not stand by their warranty on their labor. It's misleading.

I mentioned that my windows in the bedrooms were changed in 2001 and they had leaked the Argon gas so they are cloudy. He encouraged me to find the receipts and call HD. Well, I found the receipts, and called HD. After 4 hang-ups, I finally got someone who asked me to email the receipts because they cannot find them in their system. I did! I called today and no one knows anything.
I went to the store, waited for an hour and a half with one of their employees calling her managers, but they were in a "meeting". Finally, I had to leave, and the employee wanted me to send her the serial numbers on the windows (they are not there anymore) otherwise she cannot do anything. The invoice had window wrapping as well, which they had never done!!! Finally I asked the employee how can I trust HD with my new windows, her response was "always keep the receipts!" which is exactly what I had done with my previous windows! Never buy windows from Home Depot! It is not the windows that are the problem. It is the Home Depot Install Managers and contractors they use. Our nightmare started in 2015 and it is now 2020. From the beginning they have measured incorrectly multiple times, ordered the wrong window sizes multiple times, ruined the mortar on my home, broke the bucking, used the wrong caulking that resulted in it developing holes, not adhering well and growing mold. Our large picture window developed condensation between the panes due to an air leak, the drywall around some of the windows was damaged, I currently still have a window that leaks, mold growing between the glass panes and the rubber edging that you see when you look from the inside out, cracked and chipped two marble window sills.
Home Depot has replaced out windows 3-4 times now, each time causing more and more damage. Over the 5 years we have waited anywhere between 6 months to a year for our repairs to be done. The last visit from the Home Depot employee determined that we needed to have all the windows replaced AGAIN for the 5th time due to the shoddy workmanship. The window install managers do not keep you informed, they lie and they do not return calls.
After much frustration with this company, I resorted to complaining to the better business bureau and asking Home Depot for a monetary settlement. Home Depot refused and stated that all they would do was to replace the windows again. They have yet to acknowledge the shoddy work done by their contractors and the fact that I do not want them to replace my windows again because they cause more and more damage each time. I do not want to wait another year or more for them to order the windows and get their act together. They have proved time and time again that they are incompetent. The repairs that have been done, have never been done satisfactorily. They do not care that we had to take many vacation days/time off from work in order to accommodate them coming out and sometimes not even showing up. They have yet to file for an inspection for windows that were installed in March 2020.
The complaint to the Better Business Bureau did not result in an agreeable outcome. I have reached out to Home Depot Stacy Tank, Vice President of Home Services. I sent her a short letter of the situation along with many pictures of the damage. I received confirmation from the post office that the letter was received but it has been 7 weeks and no response from anyone.

I recently ordered patio doors using online ordering the end of May. I received an email from Home Depot on June 8th saying my doors had shipped and the estimated arrival to the store was June 15th. I contacted the receiving store on June 16 to see if the doors had arrived. They had trouble viewing the online tracking system and couldn't give me an answer. Today I again checked the tracking website which had previously not been functioning correctly only to find that the doors just shipped June 16th... the same day I inquired to see if they had been received at the store. I contacted the online service to ask why I had received an email from Home Depot on June 8th saying the doors had shipped when this was not true. The representative was unable to provide an acceptable answer. I more than likely will now choose to stick with getting supplies from Lowe's since I can get a truthful answer from this company and much better service.

Once upon a time (my Home Depot fairy tale), I ordered SIMONTON sliding glass doors (2). I was informed it would take up to 6-8 weeks after down payment and order to the manufacturer. After a couple of weeks I was informed Simonton does not make a 3 (three) panel door. I then agreed to have Milgard (via Home Depot) door replace the one of the ordered doors, and thus, another month or so waiting period.
When the installers finally came I was informed that the 3 panel glass door could not be found in the warehouse so they proceeded to install the 2 panel door. After another waiting period I was informed they found the 3 panel door in the warehouse and installation was scheduled once again. There were additional "hiccups," and after a full year until the entire project was finished.
I can get into those issues but the main point is (was), after my investigation I was ill informed, dare I say lied to, that Simonton does not make the 3 panel sliding glass door when in fact they do. And since I prefer the Simonton doors I am deeply disappointed in Home Depot for the waiting and diversion during all this time. I will say the installers are great and did a wonderful job. To the Home Depot credit they did give me a $250 gift card for my troubles and was told I would receive a phone call from their "managers" later that day. After six weeks I am still waiting. Moral of the story is when buying Camels go to a camel sales establishment.

I am supposed to have my windows installed today but nobody has called or shown up. I tried reaching out to the project coordinators and left a message but they never return my calls. I also left a message for my Sales Consultant and he also has not called back. I finally got a hold of someone from Customer Care and they informed me that the installers were supposed to be at my house by noon. It is now after 1pm and still nothing. I called Branch Support and they said they did not know where the installers were and told me to call them myself and gave me their number.
Although it is not my job to track down your installers, I called anyway just to find out that they are not coming. The installer said, "I told them I was not working for three weeks". Clearly, there is a lack of communication on their part as well as a lack consideration for their customer’s time and money. This is the second job I have done with Home Depot Exteriors and the first one did not go much better. Needless to say, I will never be doing business with them again.

Last July I had the local rep for Home Depot put in an order for 10 replacement windows for an older home that I own. They were done and supposed to go in in September but unfortunately when the installers came out 7 of the 10 windows didn't fit. The installers remeasured and I was told it would be another 2 or 3 weeks until they were finished and ready to go in. After a month I kept trying to get a hold of someone to find out what was going on but no one would get back to me. As a result I called and cancelled my order. Within 20 minutes Robert ** called me back and asked what was going on so I told him that there was no communication with his boss (Jeffery **) even though I had tried several times to do so. He then explained what had happened (one window had to be built somewhere else). He then promised me that if I agreed to go ahead with the deal I would get a $1000 gift card and I agreed to do so.
The Friday before Christmas the installers again came out and installed 9 out of 10 windows. The 10th did not fit. I was told it would be 2 weeks which ended up being another month but again I had to get in touch with them so they could call back and make another appointment. Installers came out and put it in. It didn't quite fit but they figured out a way around it. In the meantime I'm waiting to hear about my gift card. I finally called Cory (sales manager) and asked him about and he said he'd check on it. He got back to me and offered an $800 dollar gift card. I said that they had promised me $1000 but he said they would only go for $800 so I said yes figuring I was probably lucky to get that. Then, after thinking about it I got mad. If your word is no good on something like this this then you have a big problem going on. I am sending a copy of the emails between Cory and I so you can see for yourself. Please tell me that Home Depot is better than this.

This review is about Home Depot”s Home Installation Services. The good: their pre-installation service. Everyone from the person at Home Depot to the contractor who came out to discuss my needs to the installer who measured everything up was quick, helpful and friendly. Why a one-star rating then? Let’s just say if you have any issues with your installation good luck! I hope you have a ton of patience and perseverance. The short version of my story basically was I had a problem with two of the window coverings I ordered which necessitated them to be fixed (one cut to the wrong size, one defective). Getting replacements for them ended up to be a gong show where I had to call many times and ended up waiting almost half a year for things to be remedied.
If you are not aware, there are several players involved when using HD’s Home Installation Services: the salesperson at the store, HD’s Home Installation office people, a contracted company that sends their salesperson out to your home, and the installer who installs your product. The problem is nobody wanted to take responsibility on fixing the problem.
I obviously started with the Home Installation office as that would make sense. After six weeks of waiting for my replacement window coverings, I decided to call them to get an update. They didn’t know what I was talking about. After explaining my problem, the person said, “I’ll look into this and will call you back.” Nada. After 2-3 weeks I called back and, guess what? The person didn’t know what I was talking about. I repeated myself and the person said, “I’ll look into this and will call you back.” Nada. This entire charade was repeated literally five times over the course of five months!! Each time I called, the person would promise to call back. I never ever received any callbacks. I even asked them if they have my correct contact information, which they did.
Getting frustrated with my situation, I started to contact the other players: the store, the contracted company’s salesperson, and even the guy who came out to install my blinds. The store said to call HD Home Installation as he couldn’t do anything. The contracted salesperson never returned my calls. The installer said that he’s just the end-guy and was unable to help. He actually indicated that he was also very frustrated with the people at Home Installation Services both for when he needed things and from hearing complaints from customers, which was common.
The conclusion from my perspective was that the Home Installation Services people are either very incompetent, disorganized, unaccountable for their actions, or extremely understaffed. In the end, my installer came to the rescue. He took it upon himself to fix my blinds at his expense (he had his own window covering business) and said he would deal with HD afterwards to get paid for his work. Kudos to him for the only one who I dealt with who knows what good customer service should look like!
To this date (seven months later), I have not heard back from HD regarding my complaints about my blinds. Since my blinds have been fixed by the installer, I’m dropping the matter. One thing: I received an automated email from HD saying that they hoped I was happy with my installation and asking for a review. Clicking on the link to submit a review brings up a screen that says I’ve already submitted a review even though I didn’t! Hmm, maybe they really don’t want to receive any bad comments? Steer clear of using Home Depot’s Installation Services. If you do use them, hope that all goes well the first time or you may be in for a bad ride.

We bought replacement windows from Home Depot in March and it is not January of 2020 and the windows are still not completely installed. The first installer installed the windows with foam (nothing else holding up the windows) and they were not aligned at the bottom or plum. Our carpenter said he could not install the trim because the windows were so out of alignment. We had to reinstall 3 windows so that we could put in the sills in bathrooms and kitchen. We finally got Home Depot project managers out to see the mess. They agreed the windows were not correctly installed or sealed and wanted to send the same install out to redo it.
We said, no, we wanted a different installer. So another installer came out in September but only reinstalled 2 of the 5 windows that needed reinstallation and reset one extending about 1 1/2" too far to the outside, so our carpenter had to reinstall it quickly as this was now October and snow was on its way. The second installer was to return after we put on the trim. They were to metal wrap the trim to seal the windows. This is January and they call to set a time, then make excuses about why they cannot come. We have been into the store several times and they always say they will get someone out to fix the problem, but the Project Manager does not carry through. Do NOT have Home Depot install windows. Their contractors do not know what they are doing. SO frustrating!!

I am disappointed in Home Depot. We ordered a custom round window through their window department and it has come in sized incorrectly twice now. This most recent time the installers took the old window out and broke the glass on it and then put it back in place when they realized the new window didn’t fit. The part that really got me was that they never told me there was a hole in the broken glass now and they left without telling me and without cleaning up the broken nails and wood around the floor. So I noticed later that cold air is blowing into the house through the window and we have a renter living in the house. This is not how we expected to be treated after agreeing to buy this window that’s costing us over $1500.

My elderly mother decided it was time to have the kitchen remodeled and met with a Home Depot rep. at her house. The window sales person came out and took measurements and setup an appointment for the “official measurements” to be taken the following week. Considering these are retrofit windows, the measurements need to be correct. She was assured that this would be completed before Thanksgiving. Three weeks later she gets contacted to schedule the installation the following week (day before Thanksgiving).
Installers arrive 2 hours after the time window given but no problem, she’s excited to get the windows she’s been waiting for. Installers proceed to take measurements and a short time later they say there’s a problem. The windows are too small and they’ve had this issue with the people that do the measurements before. But even if the window were the correct size, the gutter needs to be relocated as well. They say they’ll contact the sales manager and even with a rush order, it probably wouldn’t be until January before they have the new windows.
After they leave I contacted the sales rep. on my mother’s behalf and he says “I heard about that”, but offers no apology or resolution! I tell him to just cancel the order at this point. I don’t hear from him Monday so I call Home Depot and speak to someone else. Come to find out this is NOT Home Depot but a “side vendor” that deals with window and doors! They have charged my mother thousands of dollars, wasted our time and she has NOTHING to show for it. Stating that they will not issue a refund until the windows are returned and asked if I still had the windows and if I had “their installers” contact information. My advice: steer clear of this fools! Had Andersen windows do multiple retrofit windows without a single issue.

Updated on 11/30/2019: This is an update to a previous window install experience. I am sorry to say it is not a good one in the end. Install supposed to happen today after 3 months of waiting. Installers didn't show. I called in only to find out there was not going to be an install. Windows were incorrect. Was I even going to receive a call from them? NO? So now at the 3 month point I will cancel my install. Next is to get all my money back.
I cannot believe after 90 days I still do not have 2 windows? Had all furniture moved AGAIN, curtains and window dressings removed. Patio area cleared out. Unable to winterize all my patio furniture because it goes in front of the windows. Today is the biggest storm coming! Not even a courtesy call by the installers. Pathetic. I cannot at all recommend Home Depot windows. They make you pay 100% up front. 2 different people to measure. 90 days later no phone call to even say you really don't have an install today. I wish there was a no star review!
Original review: Almost 90 days ago I signed and agreed to having 2 large windows in my house replaced by Home Depot. Loved the salesman! After about 3 weeks finally got measured. When the installers showed up they went right to the windows and went to measuring. WRONG. Had to be re-ordered. Now at almost 90 days, I know my windows are in, but of course no calls yet to schedule. I called once to inquire and was told they are backed up for some reason, call them back if I haven't heard back by the end of the week. Meanwhile my window treatments are off my windows and my outside patio furniture needs to be winterized, but can't do that or it will all be in the way of the install. I am so sorry I went with Home Depot. No follow up or follow through. 90 days is just not acceptable. But since you have to pay upfront, what do I have to stand on? I will update after the install on exactly how long this process took.

It had already been 2 months since the order was placed. I told the manager that I was very unhappy and demanded a discounted price. He agreed to a discount but when I wrote a check after installation, Home Depot didn't cash the check. Instead they took the info. off my check and made an unauthorized electronic withdrawal from my bank acct. for the original amount and not the discounted price that was agreed on. They didn't call to see why my check was a different amount. They just took whatever they wanted out of my account. Highly illegal and unscrupulous. In October 2019 we contracted with Home Depot (Steve from Farmington Hills, MI) to install 5 replacement windows in our residence. As part of a promotional, they offered us a Home Depot Card at 0% interest for 2 years for the project's cost. Upon receipt of the card it was 0 interest for 6 mos. Repeated calls to correct this met with no success because although the credit services personnel wanted to help, they could never get the salesmen to submit the contract which stated 2 yrs/0%. However the project cost were stated on the statement so we started paying the installment fees while we sought to correct the mistake.
While this was going on we had to repeatedly call to find out when the measurer would be out to measure the windows. The on-line schedule reference was never updated so no information was forthcoming without calling. Finally the gentlemen did arrive, took his measurements and explained that they would now go back to the salesmen, he would pass them on to the vendor and once manufactured the salesmen would call to provide an installation date.
Approximately Nov 2nd, we received a statement with a 0 balance and a credit for our first payment. Upon calling them they indicated Home Depot had cancelled our order. At no time did we receive a call from the salesmen, his manager or any other personnel from HD. Calls to these individuals were never returned. We finally were informed by financial services personnel that it was cancelled because the notes on the account stated "framework" was needed. This was erroneous. Again no number of calls were ever returned, contact with other managerial personnel resulted in passing the buck, and at no time did we receive a reasonable explanation of the cancellation without consultation with us.

Original order at Home Depot Honesdale PA. July 7th 2019. Waited 6 weeks. Door was sent to another area Home Depot for installation. I did not request a installation. So this door was supposed to be sent back to the original store I ordered from (Honesdale, PA.) so that they could deliver it. Waited and waited. I called. They could not locate the door. It was “lost”. I needed to reorder the door.
Returned to store to reorder the door. Sat down with garage door specialist and reordered the door. Waited another 4 - 5 weeks. The door is finally delivered. I noticed that it seemed very light. I unwrapped to find that the door had been ordered without insulation. I brought it back and got my money back. I figured that now I’d order the door myself on line. Gotta be better than the stores service. So I reordered the door. New purchase order. All my specs checked out by me. Seemed good.
Again I waited. 3-4 weeks. Finally, big day, my door arrived. Looking at the tags on the door I noticed it says “Charcoal”. I ordered "Chocolate". Wrong door again! It turns out that Clopay started to manufacture a gray door designated as “charcoal” and the code distinction was unidentifiable from “chocolate”. Both being a “CH”. So the guy at the plant had a 50/50 chance of getting it right at the factory but he picked the wrong one. All of this information I found out from a calling the Home Depot Clopay representative. So now they have reordered. Just the panels this time, in Chocolate.
I called this morning. They said that my door was on its way and would be delivered by the end of next week. From July 7th to November 14th 2019 for a garage door! Wait a minute. That is if it truly comes at all and if it’s the correct, style, color, etc. We’ll see. This summary does not include the many calls and conversations with customer service reps “in house” that yes you to death, tell you they will call you back and never do. I had the store manager call me twice. “We’ll get to the bottom of this” and “you’ll have an answer before the end of the day”. Never called me back either time. To be fair, the corporate customer service division representative was very good. They even gave me some compensation in the form of a gift card for my troubles.
So, we’ll see what happens. Kinda sad though. What’s become of some of these people who work for these places? They just show up for work to get paid. They take no pride in doing their very best each day because it’s the right thing to do and that will, in reality, really make them happy and fulfilled. Maybe they should have some “in house” classes on the ethics of work.

The main point I want people who read this review to understand is that after installation, the storm door did not close. Home Depot insisted that NO storm doors close completely. The manager of the Jericho store stated that he too has a storm door from HD and his does not close either. He also indicated that if the wind catches the door and damages it, the damage is not covered under the warranty and I would have to pay to repair. After arguing back and forth for over a month, HD removed the door and refunded my money (which included a $90 charge that they could not explain). I am beyond frustrated by my terrible experience with Home Depot and would like to warn other homeowners. To summarize, I purchased 3 Simonton windows and a sliding door to be installed by Home Depot. I had problems from beginning to end and do not want anyone else to go through what I did. The ordeal lasted over a year without Home Depot ever fixing the numerous problems, mostly to do with the shoddy installation. They had at least 6 different HD employees try to remedy the problems and they all failed! A rep from the Simonton Window and Door Company was even called and he replaced the screen door, it still didn’t fit right and he indicated it was because of the installation.
Not only that but I was “ghosted” for months, only to find out my contact person no longer worked there. Then they gave me a new guy and same thing…he was let go too after verbally promising to have the windows sealed. I then reluctantly agreed to a partial refund, only because I was so tired of the runaround for over a year and only because they wanted this problem (me) to go away. Just 2 weeks later 2 of the windows were leaking during a rain storm and soaked the carpeting in my bedroom, which now has to be replaced. I contacted them again and they said I signed off and they were not obligated to help any further.
That may be true, according to the document I signed, but this is a problem that was supposed to be fixed and would not have happened had they followed through with the promise to seal the windows. I'm not sure I have recourse except to save someone else from the agony, yes agony, of what I've been put through. Mentally and financially. I have a full timeline of the numerous ways Home Depot failed me, starting when they sold me a bad product in May 2018 to September 2019 when I came home from work to find the windows leaking. Please share and help warn other home owners about this. DO NOT BUY FROM HOME DEPOT AND NEVER LET THEM INSTALL ANYTHING!!!

The fourth appointment was a no show no call on a sunny day. They assigned a new contractor. Called at last minute to say we are the third job of the day and he could not get to us (appointment 5). On appointment 6 he called and said Home Depot could not tell him where the window is, canceling appointment 6.

Began the process of ordering a door in February through Home Depot. Was just installed May 17th. Apparently they outsource to a vendor. I was provided incorrect install dates and finally told my door arrived damaged. Lots of finger pointing but Home Depot. It accepting responsibility. Patiently waited after complaining and being told they could not compensate or discuss compensation with me until after the door had been installed; was not offered the opportunity to cancel. Door installed 3 months later but not according to what was order due to door being inaccurate size. Waste of time and energy. Would absolutely never even order so much as a screw or hammer from this store ever again. Customer service and escalation team not in sync and everyone pointing the finger at the other for issues/concerns.

If I could give this review a 0 I would! I live in Calgary AB and went to Home Depot to purchase some blinds for my new home. I ordered them a month before possession so I would have them in time. I was told to have the designer Monika come out to my new home to look at the blinds and make a choice. I already knew what I wanted and what colour I wanted which was Charcoal. The designer came to my house to see that the colours of my house was grey, white and black. I wanted black charcoal for my windows. After 3 weeks the blinds arrived for me to find my CUSTOM blinds came in the colour brown! Or “hiking trail” as it was labelled. I could not believe it! I paid $1500 for these blinds!
I phoned the designer to see what happened and she was completely rude and had the ignorance to tell me that I signed off on the paperwork. Now let me tell you that the blinds and colours are all coded. Nowhere on my receipt does it say brown so how would I know that the code she wrote down was wrong. I have now had the runaround from Home Depot. I called Monika again on Monday to see what the update was and she couldn’t even remember talking to me on the Friday!! I went in to the store and called the customer care line who has still not called me back!
This is the worst experience I have ever had and not even an apology or anyone wanting to try and fix this. This is the worst experience and I will NEVER shop Home Depot window coverings again and I warn everyone! Look at the colour code on your paperwork and match it to the code in the book just in case they mess up huge like they did to me. I am so upset that I have wasted $1500 and these custom blinds that now have to go in to the garbage.

I have never been so upset with a company before. If you're smart and need something installed do not get it done by Home Depot. I ordered windows. Did not know they used outside contracts for installation. Took MONTHS to have them get the job done right. The contractors will tell you anything and I did not know better would of had the job done total crappy. Think it took 6 times of waiting for appointments and each messing up or saying something wrong so someone else would have to come out. Why Home Depot has such crappy install companies is beyond me. Would it not be cheaper to have decent ones and get the job done properly the first time out and have the customer want to use their company again? I have had another problem after over 2 years. The lock would not work on the door wall.
Now going on almost 6 months of waiting for their contractors to show up and each giving a different story and then leaving caulk all over the new panel and muck on floor and the new panel looks like it is scratched or flawed. Was told I would have a new lock when they installed this panel. Nope... another lie. Also contacted the corporate office a few days ago and thought I was finally getting to talk with someone who could help. LOL It was a girl and she was sending them a email BUT no one has answered. My windows are suppose to have a lifetime warranty as long as I live here. Well, how do you get them to honor this??? Do I really need to hire a lawyer. They have lied and lied... Sounds so nice but what a front they put on.

I ordered three windows and one sliding glass door, we stressed that we needed them put in at the same time due to it being cooler, us having 14 month old twins and full time jobs. Home Depot said no problem we just might have to wait longer on the windows because it takes longer for the door to make so we waited and waited... Finally they called to set up a date for installation and all was good until... They arrived! The contractors that come in to install the windows and door got started right away. I was extremely happy until I started talk about the sliding door. The installer stopped me right away and told me that they were not installing the door that day because it was defective. Not only did Home Depot not tell me this but when I called dan (the install manager) he never once returned my phone calls. I finally got in touch with Daniel by calling the service center at Home Depot who had to call him and connect us.
He apologized for being too busy to call me back and promised me a $200 give card (that I never received). The phone call ended with him telling me he was going to call the manufacturer and call me right back. After not hearing from Daniel for 3 days I decided to call the Home Depot service center and get ahold of Daniel's boss. Brian got on the phone and despite being extremely rude and inconsiderate he told me I couldn’t cancel my door order. Brian called me back the next day to tell me my door was never reorder and they would give me 25% off if I still wanted to go ahead with the order. Disappointed, dissatisfied is an understatement. I had Home Depot install 2 kitchen windows. I asked that they replace any rotten wood on the sill and the entire old metal frame. They included this extra work, at a higher installation price. During the kitchen installation I was able to see that the sills were not rotten and that all the metal frame was removed. When I had Home Depot do a second job for a bedroom window, I was given an estimate. When I requested the rotten wood sill replacement and the entire metal frame replacement, the installation price went up by about $350. When Home Depot did the 2nd installation, they did not remove any sill wood, so nobody could tell if the wood was rotten underneath, and they left the metal around the window.
When I tried to get a refund of the $350, Home Depot ignored me for months, even though I repeatedly requested the refund. They finally called and said that they did the work on the 2nd installation, which was not true. So, never pay anything extra for installation of a window from Home Depot, because it might never get done, and you cannot get your money back on installation work that was never done.

Back in 2011, I hired Home Depot Home Services to replace windows on my house, after the salesperson bragged about the double-life warranty. I was hesitating to use them because the company was (and is still) not known to have a reputation of quality. But the double life warranty, meaning not only me but also the next owner of the house is covered for product defects or shoddy install, convinced me to use them. After signing the contract, everything went from bad to worse. It turns out that they don’t have their own trained install crews, but subcontracting the project out to apparently any warm bodies they could find.
The guy, who came installing the windows, couldn’t do additions and subtractions at all to get the measurements right. He managed to causing so much damage to the sidings, not to mention the poor fitting with gigantic gaps between window frames and the walls, that the Home Depot project manager felt ashamed and had another crew to fix it up.
Anyway, I consoled myself with their double life warranty. Last year, I got my chance to really test it. Sadly, the experience has been really bad. The lock mechanism stopped working on some windows. After several calls to the Home Depot customer Service line, I finally got to receive a visit from an estimator early October 2018. The manager didn’t like what the estimator’s repair proposal, squeezed down the scale of the work, presumably to save the cost. I was ok as long as I could get the windows work. They would order parts for replacements. Almost three months had passed did I receive any package of parts or heard anything from them. They’re really a patient bunch. I called during my Christmas break to find out why nothing had happened. They didn’t know anything but left a message to the project manager, Chris ** and informed that I would be contacted. Nothing happened.
I called their customer services line two or three more time before being told they had ordered the parts. They couldn’t give me the track number of the package. It took me another call a few weeks later to find out the package has shipped. Anyway, the package finally arrive. Someone from Home Depot phoned to schedule the repair on 1/24/2019 at 1 pm. At 1 pm, no one showed up. I dialed back the number and was told that he couldn’t make it because of family emergency. Ok, who could blame family emergency. He agreed to come a week later on 2/1/2019 at 1 pm.
This morning I sent the guy a text message to remind him of the appointment. Then two hours later I left him a voice message after not hearing any acknowledgement. An hour later he texted me back to inform me that he no longer works for Home Depot. I then called the Home Depot customer services line again. The rep answered my call with utmost professionalism. After a long read of the call logs, she tried to contact the project manager and could only manage to leave him messages. But she promised me that I should be contacted immediately. She gave me the manager’s direct number in case I didn’t hear anything again.
Having not heard anything from Home Depot, again, I called the manager’s line, but could only leave a voice message. I’m still waiting for Home Depot to call me, almost 2 hours later. I decided to share this experience out to help you all to avoid the mistakes I made. I will never purchase anything from Home Depot and I recommend everyone out there to do the same, for your own sanity.

Avoid these fiberglass doors at all costs!!! We are in zero degree weather and the door has major drafts all over. The bottom gasket gave out less than a year later. We could not even close the door until I figured out that there was wood blocking the deadbolt. The door warped in within a month and there is now a strong draft at the top of the door. Feather River has very liberal specs for warpage which allow for drafts. The door was "installed" (butchered in) by a Home Depot contractor (Sayre "remodeling") but the drafts themselves are a result of bad quality materials and manufacturing.
The (rude) contractor installed the door and then claimed all the screw plugs were missing and that we were to contact Feather River for replacements. Feather River claimed they no longer had them and sent our a brown crayon to fill in the screw holes! No really... That's what they did! I put in an attorney general complaint and miraculously they found some plastic plugs to send out. The side panels are askew. All three windows in the door have drafts and I am finding frost deposits around the window frame where the drafts are. Wish we kept our original door... These doors and their customer service are absolutely horrible!

He was not prepared. He looked at it and discussed it. Told me how difficult it was going to be and then by that time he said it was too late in the day to do job. They scheduled me out another two weeks. Same guy showed up. Didn’t want to replace anything rotted. Did a horrible job. Was rude.
Soon after rains came the window leaked all down my wall outside over the porch end of the porch. All the stone siding was all wet. Cheryl the girl who was managing it seem to just go round and round with circles of what was wrong. Nothing was their fault. Nothing that they did could caused it. Horrible experience. Still have not worked out the details. Finally had called someone on my own to come and look over it to see what was wrong. We found where the problem was. They should’ve changed the rotted board and they should’ve caulk the top of the window which they did not.
In my opinion I would recommend that no one use their service at all for anything that’s Home Depot. Go and buy what you need but hire someone independently. This is been a nightmare. We still haven’t settled the issue and I really believe that the people who work there do not know what they’re doing. They have no clue how to run this company. It is a shame. The salesman absolutely knew that the sale was right that there were a couple of rotted pieces around the window and he assured me they could take care of it. Well he was the only one who was sure they could take care of it because Cheryl, the manager Lea, the guy who did it they didn’t even want to clean the windows when they left a total sham. I gave in and went to Home Depot. The staff in the windows and blinds area were extraordinary and I have no problem with that side of things "but" Home Depot uses a 3rd party contract "service" out of somewhere in TX to handle the install around the country & that alone creates communications breakdowns because they don't know the local sources, they just bid it out and accept anyone that says they can do it.
I started the order in October of last year & right now it is still not complete but I'm getting email traffic from Home Depot saying, "Congratulations. Your order is complete." My father wrote out a complaint to HD hq & lo and behold they passed it on to the local HD staff rather than taking responsibility, offering any kind of condolences or even asking what they can do to improve. It's that corporate world mentality that will keep me away from any major purchases from them ever again.

Umm, then why don't any of the other bedroom windows do this? They all have heat vents below the windows. Two of the windows so far have had the pivot cam fall to the bottom when tilting in the bottom sash for cleaning. This results in the window not closing properly, nor will they lock. We had no idea how to fix this, so we went for over a week with unlocked windows in our house until a repair guy could come out!! The company’s Merritt Island, FL store quoted me $16,200.00 for 9 PGT-brand impact-resistant windows that I am now purchasing from a legitimate, state-licensed and certified window contractor for just over $7,000.00. Plus, my qualified, family-owned contractor is replacing a narrow picture window that Home Depot’s rude and unqualified in-home sales representative claimed could not be acquired from PGT, or any other vendor. (He was too lazy to call the manufacturer.) By the way, Sears quoted over $13,000.00 for the same job.
Moral: Avoid Big Box Retailers masquerading as legitimate home improvement contractors. They will charge you double, then turn around and sub-contract the work out to some who-knows-who installer. If Home Depot’s sales reps are so poorly trained, and the company is so greedy that it marks up its jobs over 100%, imagine who they will send out to do the installation. Get informed: Take 2-3 bids from local, licensed window and home improvement contractors. Support your local, independent and certified home improvement providers, not greedy corporate behemoths looking to increase their stock values on the backs of unsuspecting homeowners.

When the time came to install the windows for the wider openings, the crew installed standard size windows with gaps of over an inch on each side. They filled the gaps with pieces of WOOD and FOAM!!!
They left the windows in this state, with no cover on the inside and left. I was billed for the full amount and no one ever showed up to fix what was done. I've spent countless hours on the phone only to hear "Someone will get in touch with you within two days" and "I'm sorry but your installation manager is not available at this time"... and how about "I will try to see what is the status of your installation but it will take me at least a week."
And how about the installation manager... not picking up his phone, not answering messages, and when I ask the support people to dial him in he just says "I'm sorry but I'm with a client. I'll have to call you back later." which is just a nice way to say "I'm sorry but I'm busy scamming other people so please wait for your turn and I promise I'll screw you over real good next!"
They left the windows unfinished because they need to pass city inspection before they're finished on the inside. The inspection cannot pass because they were installed in violation of the permit. It's now the end of July and I still have not been able to get anyone from Home Depot to do anything about it. My next steps are reporting the violation to the city and filing a lawsuit against the Home Depot.

Wanted to custom order some window blinds for my house. The rep was tending to a customer who appeared to be checking out a cart full of items unrelated to window coverings (grout, tools, wallboards, etc.). After standing in front of his desk for a good 15-20 min., the customer he was tending to needed some screws for his wall boards of which he proceeded to the hardware department to get his screws. Without completing the checkout and allowing the customer to search for his screws, I don’t know how long this would add to my wait. What I don’t understand is why was this customer allowed to check out in the window coverings department instead of standing in line at the checkout counters like everyone else? The rep could only blurt out that I was next and that he was the only one available to tend to customers.
After waiting for another 10 to 15 min., the customer he was tending to had not returned with his screws and complete his checkout. My frustration was that the rep could have completed the checkout process so he can take my order which I think could have just taken 10 min. to do. Instead he had me wait for the customer to return. I did not want to wait any longer than what I’ve experienced already. Who knows when the customer will finally come back and complete his checkout? I know I am only one customer but Home Depot here in Marysville, WA lost my trust and confidence!

I ordered a custom steel door on April 29, 2018. The door was to come in about 2 to 3 weeks after ordering. We just picked up the correct door today. July 20, 2018. The reason for the extensive delay was because the wrong door came in the first time. The second time, it was not made to order. It was wrong. It was very frustrating. We were expecting out of town family. We wanted a new front exterior door before they arrived. The wrong door came and they were here before the right door came. The door was ordered three times before we got the right door and that was because of a gentleman employee, in which he truly made it happen for us. He normally worked at the Pro desk.
That last frustrating day, he happened to be at the service center. He assured me that we will get the correct door this time. He worked DILIGENTLY, VERY POLITE, PROFICIENT and PROFESSIONAL, at the same time. He was VERY METICULOUS and again, he assured me, that we will get the correct door this time. He was not fumbling at all. He truly knew what he was doing. He finished everything correctly and he allowed me to review the order. It was exactly what we wanted. He created the paperwork and told me the day that the door should arrive. Surely, again he was correct. The right door came in on time and we picked it up today July 20, 2018.
He is truly an asset to Home Depot. We have spent thousands of dollars at Home Depot over the years and we were ready to switch stores. Because of him, our confidence was restored in Home Depot, and we will not change stores now. We will continue to buy from Home Depot. He really deserves a raise. If I had anything to do with it, he would get a raise. I encourage you to see to it that he gets that raise. He did what the other employees did not or could not do. The day he worked this out for us was June 6, 2018.
The receipt number is **, time 6:57 p.m. His name is Michael. I do not have his last name. In addition, the Store Manager Robert **, who knows Michael, was great also. He, without hesitation, approved everything Michael did and just as Michael did, he apologized also and was very courteous. This is why I am writing this review. My wife agrees 100% with me also. Four days ago we had a sliding glass exterior doors installed. The installers did a great job, However, the salesperson (WHO IS SUPPOSED TO KNOW ABOUT THE PRODUCT) did not tell us that we had to step 'over' the vinyl (or metal... can't tell) plate that covers the tracking on the bottom of the door. I've already tripped over it and my 92 year old father is about to move in and we'll be having family members (some elderly and some children) here to visit. This is a hazard! I almost fell... We could be sued if someone does! No mention was made about this by salesperson from the Plaistow NH store! Richard **. Also, I was told I could get a BRUSHED NICKEL handle... It's not! It's white vinyl. Also, we don't have any warranty information. Just the sheet I signed stating "Job was completed to my satisfaction." Yes, installation was; however, THE 'DOORS' ARE NOT TO OUR SATISFACTION.
That 'rail' that sticks up on the bottom by the track was NEVER what we expected... We cannot believe that anyone would chance having that! Also, the screen that can be pushed over to exit the house on the deck CANNOT TOTALLY be pushed aside to allow full opening of the door to exit through it. Very small opening! We did not exit the door until after the installers left. Just opened and closed it from the inside.
A couple of days after that, we walked out and that's when we noticed the problems regarding the 'tripping hazard and the Screen Door. No one in his right mind would want 'that' type of door, again... never mentioned by sales associate! We'd like a new replacement instead of this model. We also had a window installed over the sink (which is fine). My reason for not rating with ONE STAR. This project costs us $4,628.25 (for a window and the slider doors). I emailed the Sales Associate, did not receive a reply. How should we proceed to be able to get a 'safe' door and fully opens? Thank you!

VantagePointe Windows by Simonton - Initially we were ok with the replacement of our windows with new vinyl windows. The installer did a poor job caulking around the trim and we had to mention it while he was here and fix it. It's been 6 mos and the caulking has continued to shrink and change color which looks horrible since the windows are white and the caulk is now yellowish brown. There is also mold growing in some places. I have called four times, each time being promised by customer service that someone would call back right away. To this date, no one called me back and I am super irritated. Their windows cost us over $24,000 and our house now has a problem that Home Depot created. With the rain we get here in Georgia, I do not appreciated paying that much to get leaky windows. Apparently they don't care. DO NOT make the same mistake by going with Home Depot.

I am fairly patient, knowing how busy some of the HD employees can get. The short story is that after the third visit to the store, I was able to order a custom steel door, for which I was charged for immediately. Okay. So not every business waits until the item is shipped. After a week and a half, I get a call telling me that the door cannot be made due to the height being too small. I didn't get into it with the caller, as I know that she has nothing to do with it. She said that a credit would be made to my card. As of this writing, no credit issued. So, now I have to go back to the store again to have it cancelled. Lastly, why don't they have as part of the program a kickback to said that the dimensions of the door cannot be done?

I ordered an area rug from homedepot.com on May 7th, 2018. After 2 weeks I called them to find out how much longer it would be for arrival. The order stated it was ready for pickup at my local store. The local store said they never received it. Someone at the store signed it off as received when it wasn't. A new rug was ordered for me (by them) and it finally arrived on June 5th, 2018 (almost 30 days). Still too long for a delivery. I order a curtain rod from them on June 11, 2018 and it arrived on June 20, 2018. In today's day and age, with 1 and 2 day delivery from competitors, how does Home Depot expect to keep customers with 9-30 day deliveries? Where is the CEO when it comes to this?
I ordered (I know, why do I keep ordering from them?) 3 sets of mini blinds so I could put up new blinds in a house I was moving out of in 2 weeks. The online site said they had 4 sets in stock at my local store, "WOO HOO I would be able to pick them up today and install them!" WRONG. The store calls me and says "I'm sorry, we only had 1 in stock so I canceled your other 2 items." I said "Will you be getting any more in stock?" She said "Yes, probably on June 22nd." I said "Why did you cancel my order then instead of asking me if I wanted to wait for them??" UGH!!! She said I could call back on the 22nd and see if they got them in. Terrible customer service was my experience, and it's too bad because they are normally a decent store. The CEO really needs to read these reviews and start training employees to do the right thing and SPEED up their delivery service.

Was told that it was a minimum $400 and could be quoted after I paid for a $40 site survey/measurement which would be refunded upon order. I was OK with that. Was told the entire process could take 6-8 weeks. I was not ok with that. I asked how to speed things up and was introduced to a Home Depot @home guy who said that I was lucky to meet him because he could not only do installation faster, but he could get me a better door because the Home Depot doors that I was looking at were very poor quality and would fall apart very quickly. He said his doors were much better quality than Home Depot. I asked why he was bad mouthing Home Depot in the store since he worked for them and he laughed and said that Home Depot corporate knows that he is doing this and are OK with it.
I called Home Depot corporate and was told that this was not a bait and switch and that I should bring my own contractor with me if I ever planned on shopping there again. Since I don't have my own contractor, I will never shop at Home Depot again. I will sell my small 3 thousand shares of stock and I will write more true stories about what has happened in the past that I no longer feel like ignoring.

Perhaps this was just our experience, but I truly don't believe that this was the case. I believe this is probably happening "across the board" with Home Depot - my bias opinion. My husband and I went to the Dixie Highway Home Depot in early May 2018 to purchase 2 doors (a security door for the FRONT, and a screen door for the BACK). When we got there, there was an elderly couple waiting for service, who said they had been waiting for quite some time (should have been our "omen"). We waited, along with them - took about 30 minutes before a sales clerk arrived. After the elderly couple placed their order (another 30 minutes or so), we proceeded to give the clerk our order on what we needed. We paid $30 for measurements to be done on both our FRONT/BACK doors.
We received a voice mail, about 3-4 days later, stating that unfortunately Home Depot couldn't provide us with a SCREEN door on the FRONT (not a security door as we requested), because it was not the "normal" size (though we were told at the store that it wouldn't be a problem) - NOTHING was mentioned about the BACK door. We went back to Home Depot twice to get everything resolved. Was told by the sales clerk that they could get us a FRONT security door even though it wasn't "normal" in size, and a BACK screen door, and that she couldn't understand why this "new guy" hadn't gotten measurements for both doors, as we had requested.
A month later, still nothing. Received 2 emails that had absolutely nothing to do with us (different account numbers - no dates). One email said we would hear from someone in 24 hours - that certainly didn't happen. Every time my husband spoke with someone on the phone, he was told they didn't know anything about it (4 different people). When he finally was able to speak to the original store clerk, she got us TOTALLY confused with other customers. Total incompetence. Total disrespect for their customer. Total disregard for their company. We just want our $30 back. Needless to say, I don't think we will be using Home Depot anymore.

I called the toll free main customer service number and they told me that Home Depot does not have to take returns after 90 days even with a receipt for things in original packaging. The store did me a 'favor' by giving me 50% of my money back. Please keep this in mind when you shop at Home Depot. I use to love Home Depot. We have bought a lot over the years with them. Until it came to our windows. We paid over $5,000 for 5 windows in May of 2016 and they finally got it right in 2018. We are in Fort Myers beach so weather was never an issue. The problem was they never fit. After countless phone calls and remeasurers and installer after installer coming out to the house, it finally was done right. I have dealt throughout the years with Greg **, Melvin **, Install manager, Justin **, Install Manager. And they all said they would take care of it. But same stuff different day with all of them. Have had 7 different people out to measure the one window that they could never get right. Over 5 different install companies out to install it, just to find out the measurements were wrong again. They kept sending out the same window measurements that were wrong in the first place.
We have had to cancel Dr. appts, and different events just to wait and stay home to have more measurements and installs. Justin even came out himself to try to get it resolved but that didn't even work. The installers they kept sending were all great. They refused to put in a window that was way too small. You could see outside of the side of it, that's how bad and small it was. Home Depot didn't get their act together when it came time to make the window.
Since all this, we have needed a washer and dryer. Normally we would have gotten it from Home Depot, but with all the YEARS of trying to get this right we were pretty gun shy. So we went to Lowe's. The installer we had last was great. He made sure that they got it right this time. Jeffrey from Catalyst was great. Didn't even get an, "We are sorry for the mess we put you through from Home Depot." We were hoping the new Head of Home Depot Andrew ** would have contacted us, but no word. When home depot customer service kept calling to ask if we were satisfied, I kept saying no and would explain the problem, but never heard back from anyone there either. I guess once they have your money, that's as far as the caring goes. So just BEWARE if you are ordering windows from HOME DEPOT. Unless you have a FEW YEARS TO GET YOUR WINDOWS RIGHT.

Anyone who has ever needed replacement windows knows how many sources for custom replacement windows of one kind or another are available. All seem to be custom factory windows and very expensive. Comparing window cost to standard size windows available at a large box stores like Home Depot or Lowe's, for example, shows a huge difference in cost between a store window and a "custom window" even for a standard size. A 24" x 48" double hung vinyl replacement window, for example, would be in the $150.00 range purchased from the store while a similar size window from any replacement window company would be double, triple or even quadruple the price. Of course, separating the price of the window from the labor is often very difficult.
I contacted Home Depot window installation through a local store and discovered to my dismay and frustration that the approved HD installation company only installs custom windows, not those from the Home Depot store. In other words you can get an installer to install custom windows or you can get a HD approved installer to install custom windows, all at the custom window inflated price. Again, the window price in the store is approximately $150.00 per window and the installation price from any source is in the $450.00 to $800.00 range per window. For a large 48" x 48" picture window the in store price is approximately $250.00 range while the same replacement window from an installer is in the $1,500.00 range using a "custom window".
The Home Depot installer will not use a standard size window brand from the store saying, "we choose to only use custom windows", so HD approved installer will not install the many brands available from the store. This points strongly to how deceptive the replacement window business is and why so many companies are always pounding down your door to do business. Yes, for the myriad of replacement window companies, this is a very profitable business. Most customers are not aware how much the prices are being inflated when compared to the price of the window itself. Customer be aware.

I’m writing a review to let people know what a terrible experience we’ve had with Simonton Windows and Patio Doors and Home Depot Installation Services. We had eight windows and two patio doors replaced. The original installation in September of 2017 went well, the windows seem to function good but the patio doors really leave a lot to be desired. The bottom track in the patio door actually rusted and the door and screen door were extremely hard to open and shut. After a couple of service call, replaced track and adjustments it seemed to work fine until the first sub-zero weather we had, the patio door actually froze shut. There was thick ice in the bottom track and frost on our woodwork along the side of the stationary door. Once we finally got the door open there was very thick frost/ice on the side track of the sliding door.
After repeated trips to Home Depot with pictures of the ice and frost they sent the photos to customer service at Simonton. Simonton decided that there was no visible product defect present. They said they were seeing frost condensation and they don’t warranty against condensation, the door is operating as it should. Apparently, they expect their door to freeze shut in colder weather. While I totally understand about condensation and humidity the inside glass showed no moisture and the humidity level in the house was 27% or less. I wish the door would have come with a warning label stating it will not function well in cold temperatures!
We have repletely questioned the actual installation of the door. We have heard just about every excuse that they can think of and everyone that’s been involved seem to think that this is normal. I don’t understand how they can tell anything about the installation from pictures. Home Depot actually sent a couple of contractors out. The first one stated that the ice and frost buildup was because there was a deck outside of the door, another stated that it was because the door was installed near the kitchen area. Not one person has actually check to see if the door is insulated properly. We have heard just about every excuse that would cause the door to freeze shut and no one seems to recognize that this could be a safety hazard. This has been a very expensive mistake working with Home Depot and their “professional” installation service and Simonton Windows and Doors.

First we will start with the fact that none of my "installation managers" were ever reliable and were/are extremely hard to reach. They would often not return my calls or emails. Second, I had to be the driving force to get my windows measured in which the representative kept me waiting all day and finally showed up just before dark. Then about a month after the measurement I had to continue to call Home Depot's customer care line just to get a set install date, which was a month after the promised date.
Fast forward to now, three of my rear windows are a half inch too short and are shimmer with wood and caulk and one is broken at the interior frames weld. You would think Home Depot could correct this matter? No, they definitely do not care! I have perused every avenue with no avail for three months now to try to solve this problem and nobody seems to even show the slightest concern or put forward any effort to help me. When reaching out to the financial side of the house I was told that my financing contract is not dependent of the windows being installed correctly...which means basically you keep paying to be treated like dirt. Ordered an entry door with two side panels on 8/6/2017, and as of 1/8/18, I am still without a front door! Home Depot guaranteed it would be in, and installed by the end of September when the original order was placed. The side panel doors were made incorrectly, reordered as a rush (told two weeks-took exactly seven weeks; longer than the original door). At the time the second door came in, it was inspected by JELD-WEN the manufacturer, as well as Home Depot, and we were assured it was PERFECT. Installation was scheduled (of which they could not install until 12/28 due to lack of having enough professional installers to accommodate their customers, as well as their lack of concern for what we have been through to have a new front door installed).
Off work and waiting for installer to arrive on 12/28 between 12 pm and 3 pm, only to be called at 11:50 am from the manager of Home Depot stating there was another issue with the second door. JELD-WEN (I suggest never ordering doors from this company) did not make the glass on the side panels the same size, so they would need to order a third door, which will take another four weeks. They also indicated they would reach out to the regional/district manager for JELD-WEN to see if there was anything they could do to expedite the order, or compensate us for the inconvenience. As the first experience of the rush reorder, no response or call from the manager after supposedly told they were reaching out to JELD-WEN (no call from them either, as they should have). I also contact JELD-WEN directly when the first reorder was to be rushed, and they had no record of a rush order at all.
I reached out to the Corporate office at Home Depot and placed a complaint about 10 days ago, in which I was advised someone would call me back Tuesday, or Wednesday of last week. I did not receive a return call as of Thursday, so I called and left a message with whom I placed the complaint with last Thursday, and still did not receive a return call. I called today, and told them at this point, the door should be free, and we should only be responsible for install. Home Depot states they cannot give any compensation or direction in regards to that until after the job is complete. They have no problem with accepting our payments on a door that I do not have. You can build a house or two within this time frame.
We have been more patient than most consumers would have been by now, but we have decided enough is enough, and we will be cancelling our order, obtaining a refund, and going elsewhere to do business... BUYER BEWARE, I would not recommend this company for the purchase of anything. Going back to Lowe's for all future shopping. We have had nothing but prompt, professional, caring service, as well as follow up and direction from the beginning from Lowe's, will NEVER do business with HOME DEPOT, or JELD-WEN again.

At 10 am, we called to inquire and were told he was on his way. Approximately 20 minutes later he called to tell us the door was damaged and not able to be installed. The door was reordered.
We received an email on Dec. 27 saying that we needed to arrange to pick up the door. We called and were told that was an error. On Jan. 3 at 5 pm we received an email that said the installation was set up for Jan. 3 at 7 am. We had never received a call to set up this installation but obviously telling us 10 hours later of an appointment didn't work. We are still waiting for install date although current temps are below 10 degrees so we imagine this will be postponed at least a few days for that reason alone. Based on what we are seeing on reviews, this is not an isolated incident or out of the ordinary for Home Depot door installation. We even have an acquaintance who purchased a door at a different Home Depot near us and is having the same problem. I do not think they should sell/promote installation as an offering if they are not able to perform the service.

We are unable to use the front entryway to come into the house unless someone is able to lift the door as it's being opened.

I ordered a standard garage door on 10-9-17 & the gentleman came on 10-13-17 to measure. I hadn't heard anything for 2 weeks so I called the store on Southport Road in Indianapolis installation and she asked me to wait a week before calling back so I waited another two weeks and called back and I was told that they would look into it and somebody would get back to me the next day. Well 2 Days Later somebody got back to me and said the installation company should be calling me the week of Thanksgiving.
I waited until the day after Thanksgiving and spoke to the manager at the store on Southport Road who told me he would call me right back, well he never called so I called corporate office who put me on hold and try to contact installation company but they were closed and would not be open again until Monday which was November 27th. She said that she would have somebody from the corporate office look into this on Monday November 27th and get back to me. Well yesterday nobody called me back but I did get a call from the installation company today November 28th 2017 and the earliest they had to fit me in is December 4th.
It took three calls to the store where I bought the garage door and one call to the corporate office to get any type of results whatsoever & that was WEEKS after I purchased the door. It will be almost 2 months from the time I purchase the door to the time it will be installed. I will never shop at Home Depot again. Also the woman I spoke to from the installation company was extremely rude.

Ordered replacement windows for our home with Home Depot on 09/92/17. The windows were installed 10/25/17 but only had screens for the bottom sashes. These are double hung windows so require FULL window screens for both top and bottom. We are STILL waiting for our screens and no one at Home Depot will talk to us. We paid over $8,500 and get anyone on the phone that knows about this. A window broke a week after it was installed. It's been 3 weeks and no replacement and we can't even find out a date when to will be replaced. Can't get ahold of anyone in charge. Cold air pouring thru a huge hole in window. Considering legal action against these people. We are disabled vets in our late 60s and HATE being used like this. Go elsewhere for your new windows. We have filed complaints with State Attorney General and the BBB. If no resolution then we will be forced to hire an attorney.

When the salesman showed up, I liked him right away. In passing he mentioned that he had been in this line of work and with The Home Depot for 9 years. He measured my windows and then we set to designing the look. I asked if there would be insulation, foam or batting, in gaps behind the wall where the old windows has taken room up with weights, (the old windows were literally 100 yrs old).
He did not specify, but said "Oh yes, they will be insulated very well." I also asked if I could use gift cards to pay for the work and he said, "Sure, that shouldn't be a problem..." and went on to explain how to use it when I went to the website to make a payment. (A local store gives promos and $ back when you buy gift cards and, IF this were true, could potentially save me $100 or more.) The next step was to check my credit, because I did not. Already have gift cards, I was told I could have a 0% 12 month loan to pay in full before I was charged interest.
The windows arrived, but I had to work and since they require an adult 18 yrs or older has to be there the entire time, I had a friend come over while installation took place. I got home just as the workers were finishing up. The windows looked GREAT! I asked the man in charge what kind of insulation was used and he said "oh, no, there is a gap in the wall where the old weights were, but everything is sealed up tight."
He also goes on to tell me that they only have white caulk and the windows are brown on the inside to match the wood. He can use the white if I would like. I tell him, "No, that would defeat the purpose of matching the wood color." Then he needs me to sign the install sheet and has a bill attached. I try to give him the first gift certificate (that I bought for $500) and he casually says "Oh, no, what you can do with that is take it to the store and make any purchases you want at the store." I am put off, but figure, he is the install guy, maybe there is a mix up.
I have to make several calls to get them to come back to put clear caulk on the inside of window, since there is no insulation in wall, I want something else there besides only outside caulk. The entire purpose of getting new windows was to save energy and not feel the draft that my old windows had! I get my first bill. It says I have a project loan that is interest only (7.99%) for 6 months. That is not what I agreed to. I go to pay online with my gift card... No place to do that online, so I call and am informed that they cannot do that. The bank that loans is not HD so they cannot accept HD gift cards. (I am glad I only bought $700 worth of gift cards instead of the thousand(s) I had planned on! I stopped purchasing after the installer said I couldn't use it.)
So, let's see: Misinformed me about insulation. Completely misinformed (lied) about the type of loan... and how I would be able to pay. I don't think they planned on coming back to caulk inside of windows except I kept calling and gave a bad review when "Michael" my project manager called to see how I thought things went. (The only thing I complained to him about was that they were not done with the project until they came back to caulk.) The only positive is that the windows look exactly how I wanted...but now I have to use $700 in HD gift cards. I don't have a HD in my town, and I *Really* don't want to deal with these people again... but I guess I could use all those cards to buy new blinds. Online. (I will be installing on my own, thank you very much!)

I call Home Depot and they say well the house is settling (has is 60 years old) - sorry already settled. They claim nothing they can do. My wife went Home Depot in Freeport Long Island, NY and picked out a door that they had on display late summer 2017. The installer came to measure and said everything was a typical install. We received the paperwork that included the description of the work to be done. I noticed it said something about white aluminum cladding along with Brick Moulding.
On our second visit to pay, I told the associate at Home Depot that if the surrounding was to be white aluminum, I didn't want the door. I mean, who installs a $2,300 Therma-Tru door and surrounds it with cheap aluminum? I was told it would have matching wood around the door just like their floor displays and that was what the Brick Moulding was for. Install date came and noticed the door had the wrong window option after it was installed, and then caught the installers adding white aluminum around the door. I told them that I was told it would be matching, but they told me it was impossible due to the stone face.
Thinking that this was all just a misunderstanding and that the door was already installed, also believing Home Depot had great customer service, at least they used to, my wife signed off on the job figuring we would straighten it out later. I researched online for a while and contacted Home Depot about my issues. At this time I am told since I signed off on the job, there is nothing they will do to rectify this, I'm told I should have not accepted the door and had them try to put the old one back on.
It was also pointed out that the door was ordered correctly since the sales associate was incompetent and entered the SKU in wrong and I didn't catch it on the paperwork, even after my wife pointed to the door that first day and said this is the door we want, it was still entered incorrectly. So the lesson here everyone is never, ever sign off on a job that was done by Home Depot, even if you like the installer and the job seems to be to satisfaction. This will allow you ample time to properly inspect and research that everything was done to your liking. Otherwise, like me, they will throw that back in your face. Hope this helps others.

Called their resolution team who can't handle customer complainants well even though that would seem to be your job. Transferring me to another department without telling me to handle a problem that I didn't make. Door had to then be held at their shipping thermal until the next time I could be in site to receive it. Called to make sure everything was in track since I figured they would keep me updated or informed. And I was right because they had shipped the door to a Home Depot store and not the shipping address.
So now I have to go to the store. Rent a truck to deliver the door to the project site. But the door was not ready to leave the store when I got there. I had to wait another hour plus until I could take it. Through this whole process I wasted so much of my time trying to figure out what Home Depot was doing. Home Depot does not know how to keep their customers informed or resolve issues. This is the last time I will deal with them. I would like to begin with stating that prior to this I have enjoyed working with Home Depot and would like to continue to. We had fencing installed for our home. I purchased flooring for our entire house, as well as purchased many items and other installations for our property and others. A couple hiccups but all in all good results in the end. However there are some major issues with how the stores are run and how the customer is treated when ridiculous issues arise. I would like to take you through the last 8 months of trying to get the correct doors in my house.
First attempt to install. 3 of the 4 doors were incorrect. Installer stripped the set screw in my entry door (only door that was right). Requested that they send replacement hardware. Left a nail sticking outside the frame. Requested for the hardware to be left so we would have it for the next install. Said no they had to take them back to store.
Second attempt, asked to check the doors before setting up a date for install. Was told "not necessary". Asked if the hardware for my front door would be changed as well. Was told "Yes". All doors incorrect again even after I asked for them to be measured prior. Did not come with any of the hardware and said they did not have any notes that the front door hardware was to be replaced. Missed another day of work.
Third attempt, doors incorrect again. Again I had requested to come and measure them. Told "not necessary". Storm door not even ordered. Accepted the doors under the pretense that there was to be compensation. Installer messed up my flooring and scuffed my deck. Lost another day of work. Final install, May. Everything went fine. So I thought.
Now the compensation that we were offered was $750. That is absurd and I am insulted. With all the grief, all the days I wasted of my vacation time, all the money I have spent over the last few years with Home Depot, easily over $20,000 just on my personal home not to mention other properties. I let them know that I did not find that as an acceptable resolution. They called back the next day and said, We don't care we have your money. I couldn't believe it.
I have reached out to the district Managers and other higher personnel and had no response. Including Steve **, Jason **, Ryan ** and Brian**. I was told that these individuals were given my information as I was not allowed to be given their contact information. Eventually Ryan contacted me. After speaking with the District Manager I was then offered $1000. That would not even cover half the cost of the two French doors I accepted, that were not what was specified.
I do not normally complain to this extent or seek out the CEO of a company but I felt so very wronged by a company I have been so faithful to. I think that $1,500 was an adequate reimbursement for the fact that your company would have had to absorb that just in the price of the doors that we accepted the third time. Even though they are not what we wanted. Taking into account everything else I would project higher but this is a figure that I believe I would be comfortable to continue doing business with Home Depot. The CEO sent my grievance to basically the same department that told me they didn't care, and came back with the same figure. They then said we would like to pad it with an additional $250. After all that they didn't even give me the insignificant figure I had asked for.
To add further injury to insult they did not provide the correct fax number to send my signed release form back to in order to receive our pitiful compensation. The matter still pends. I am not sure we will ever get our reimbursement. My wife is extremely distraught over this entire situation, and I have never been so saddened by the treatment I received from a company that I had held in such high regard prior to this.

I let him know I had a deadline to get them installed and he assured me they would make it. It was very easy to get them to take my credit card info but it got increasingly difficult to get anything done after that. I had to call to remind them that I needed to have my windows measured. I checked on the progress yesterday because it is one week from the deadline for install and got a call back from the original salesman telling me all the bad news with my order.
Long story short, the windows were never ordered and I was told I needed "construction" to get the windows in or they would leak. Interestingly, he also revealed that THD had to wait on my order because they did not have a license to install windows in manufactured homes. So, he took my order and charged my credit card knowing legally he could not fill the order. Needless to say after being told there were no windows ready to install and I needed to pay an additional $150/window, I cancelled the order. I felt like I was being scammed.

I placed an online ship to store order in late Feb/Early March for 3 items. 2 were French Doors and the other item was a 72X80 patio door. I received a notification the following day that the order for the French Doors had been cancelled because the store I was going to pick them up at was out of stock. Mind you this is an online order. Nevertheless I had to replace the order and go to a different store to pick up the item even though it was supposed to be buy online and ship to store.
The patio door was a different story. It was shipped to the store and my contractor who was going to install it picked it up on 3/27/2017. When he opened the box, the door which was still wrapped in plastic was damaged. We immediately called Home Depot. We were told someone would call within 5 days about picking up the door and I would need to reorder a new door which I did. Now the nightmare begins. 5 days go by I don't hear from anyone and I'm going out of town on business so I call the online department back. Unfortunately I'm working and it's late afternoon when I can get a chance to call. But the agents get the carrier on the phone (Non Stop Delivery) and three times I'm told they will call me first thing the next day.
Finally I get the number myself and get told the same thing that someone will call me to schedule the pickup but I never hear anything back. So I call the online department again who engages the store. Now I'm told the store will pick it up but I will have to pay for it and oh by the way they want me to pay for it. Finally online gives me a gift certificate to pay for the pickup but Sheila in the Palm Harbor store refuses to do anything to accommodate the inconvenience I've been put through and in fact tells me I'll have to pay an extra charge if I want any kind of window of time. Otherwise I just have to wait all day for the pickup. I'm told someone would call me on Friday (which is today, never heard from them) or I can call the store first thing Saturday (which is the pickup day) so I guess I'll try that tomorrow.
In the meantime, my new door comes in. On Wednesday while I'm out of town I receive an automated call telling me that the door which is 350 pounds and about 6ft x 7ft will be left on my front doorstep or somewhere on my property. I immediate call the carrier (same company Non Stop delivery). I reschedule the delivery for Friday afternoon when I am back in town and can take off work to receive the door (because I cannot move a 350 door that they intend to leave on my doorstep). On Friday morning I check the website and yes it does show the door is scheduled to arrive between 2-6 and it says I'll receive a 30 minute pre-call. At 5 o'clock still no door so I call the company again. They now tell me the door is scheduled for delivery between 8-12.
When I try to find out what happened Non Stop Delivery puts me through to their local carrier (Manko in Tampa, FL) who rudely tells me they had too much on the truck and it wouldn't fit and that the instructions to leave the door on a dry spot on the property are from Home Depot and they are not required to reschedule with me. So now after two weeks I still have a damaged door which hasn't been picked up or credited from my card and I cannot get the door I ordered. My contractor has completed all the other work and I have a 350 lb door that is going to be delivered on Monday on my property for me to try to find someone to move into my garage until I can get the contractor back.
So at this point what do I think should be done? Well if I were Home Depot and I valued my customers I would probably immediately call Manko and tell them not to deliver the door and then I would search for a better partner than Non Stop Delivery who knows how to pick local carriers that will represent Home Depot properly. I would send one of my stores (in one of the trucks that I rent out) to pick up the door from Manko and then call and schedule a delivery and a pick up with me. I doubt that is what will happen. Tomorrow I will probably call Home Depot to find out that my pickup either isn't scheduled or it is scheduled through Manko who will cancel at some point during the day when they find out their truck is too full.
I will probably have to hire someone to come to my home and move the door they drop off on Monday into my garage and hope that it isn't damaged and I don't end up having to return two doors and go through this process again. I'm not really sure about anything with Home Depot but this is what I do know. I'm going to contact American Express to dispute the charge on the damaged door and then I'm going to start doing business with Lowe's. This is the worst customer service experience I've ever had with a store I've dealt with.

I went to purchase a storm door for my back door. Paid for the door and installation on Friday. The guy came out to do measurements on Monday. He wasn't at my home for 5 minutes, took a picture of the door then left. No measurements or anything. Just said HD would contact me after he sends them the picture of my door. I question him... Was that it? He stated that the door was standard and everything looks fine. Wednesday HD calls me to tell me that the guy found that the my door frame was too wide, he needs to build a frame and a threshold. I questioned them... the guy said everything was fine. They said in order for them to install my door it would be another $287. I refuse to pay and demanded a refund. (Which didn't happen.)
They said I would have to wait until the next business day b/c the door was a special order. Which was not! But with no other choice... I'm waiting. Customer service at HD was very poor. No one seemed to care about anything I was saying. After all that had happened, I understand why they wasn't phased. I got home, pulled up the reviews and there is nothing but complaints about HOME DEPOT. I decided to go with a well known company to get the best service possible and was sadly disappointed with HD. The installers they use are rip offs and HD is ok with that. HOW DARE!

On 3/5/17 I ordered a shower door through the Home Depot website. It was a product that they don't carry in stock so it had to be shipped from California. I quickly received the email that the product was ordered with an eta on delivery (3/17/17). So on the 8th I received another email saying it had been ordered at 5:50 pm in Perris California which is one of their own warehouses I later learned. The next week goes by and even though it hasn't had any updates on the door it still says the 17th so I was optimistic it would still arrive on time. 17th passes with no door (mind you its 5' tall and 3' wide and kinda hard to miss) so I call the Home Depot to check the status and they told me that it was shipped to the Estes delivery service already and was out of their hands.
Their rep told me she would inquire with Estes and call me back once the status of the door had been resolved. Before hanging up with them I got the contact info for Estes to call them myself. After waiting on hold for half hour I finally got someone who told me they honestly weren't sure and once their west coast branch opened she would have someone contact me. That was the 21st, days go by with no callback or email with a status or update.
I had a lot going on that week and didn't call immediately back to inquire, I assumed that between Home Depot and Estes that they would figure it out. So finally I called Estes and sat on hold for over an hour just to be told that they're not sure where it is and they think it was never received let alone shipped! Frustrated I then called Home Depot to see if there was any truth or if they were simply blaming each other til it was resolved. After being on hold 45 minutes and talking with and being transferred 3 times, they finally told me that Perris was their own warehouse and it simply never was sent to be shipped. They suggested that I cancel the order and then reorder the door and wait for it to come. I told her how I literally can't shower in my bathroom I just redid because of the door that was suppose to be here almost 2 weeks prior. She could sense I was beyond frustrated and transferred me to a "customer resolution specialist".
So 5 minutes later I get this guy named Sergio. He asks what the issue is and I simply told him that "You didn't send my door in a timely manner, you basically pawned off the problem to the shipping company until it was proven it was clearly Home Depot's mistake and also took my money on the 10th of March and then never delivered on their end of the transaction." He told me he understood my frustration and could offer me a 10% discount for the inconvenience. I replied with "I will take the discount but I want it to be shipped next day so I can finally finish my shower doorless bathroom." He sarcastically replied that they don't and won't do that! Harder and harder to keep composure I told him just to ship my door. I told him that I typically use Lowe's but heard good things about this Dreamline shower door and that was the only reason I even used them.
I will never use them again and I can not believe a multi billion dollar business would play the blame game over a $300 door. I wasn't expecting a free door or anything like that, I just wanted them to overnight the door and right their wrong!! Which they failed miserably and because of that I'll be waving Lowe's blue from now on!

Next two months I spent visiting the store and calling to find out when the doors will be delivered and installed. The order was lost several times and no one knew where and when are the doors. Finally on November 7th the doors came in without handles. The Feather River door which was ordered in pure white paint came in gray and was different from frame color.

Over eight years ago we ordered a custom front door through Home Depot and arranged for installation to be completed. The installer visited our home and provided the specific measurements for the door prior to the door being ordered. When the installer, that measured the door, arrived to complete the installation he informed us the door was too big and he could not complete the installation. We made other arrangements and the door was installed. Just recently the glass in the side panel broke. We contacted Home Depot and thankfully they were able to locate our original order. A new panel was ordered and, again, arrangements were made to have a Home Depot installer install the new panel.
The installer contacted me yesterday and advised me he would arrive between 10am-12noon to complete the installation but would call me prior to arriving. I did not receive a call at the number provided but later learned that again this installer was not qualified to install the side panel. This is despite my card not only be charged once, but twice, for the installation. When my husband and I arrived home this evening we learned the panel was never removed from the cardboard box. The installer did make sure to leave the deadbolt open when slamming the door leaving a chunk of wood missing from the side trim.
It has become quite apparent that the installers contracted by Home Depot have very limited abilities and should not be expected to install any projects that involve any complexity. My husband has already removed the panel from the cardboard box and will complete the installation. I am hopeful the two charges for the installation will be credited to my card.

This hasn't been a good experience whatsoever. We used THD thinking we'd have a pleasant experience, boy were we ever wrong!!! Process started in Nov 2016 - STILL not done and it's March 2017. 19 windows (7 are doubles) were ordered. The salesman couldn't explain why we 'might' need new construction as opposed to replacement except to say "it has something to do with how the house was built and they installed the existing windows." My husband had hurt his back the month prior and was succinctly clear that neither of us were looking for added projects when THD was finished. The salesman assured us we'd have nothing to do except put our curtains and shades back up, (LIE#1). So we signed the paperwork. We were getting a total of 25% off, we also decided to replace our rotting front door. We were both quite excited.
The salesman, BRIEFLY talked about the possibility that we MAY not be able to use replacement windows and might have to do new construction. He said he couldn't really explain why, "something to do with how they build the houses." My husband asked him again, "am I going to have any work when THD is done with new construction?" Rick (the salesman) again says 'no'. Well that was a lie, because new construction windows have new still and trim that only come primed, not painted, the project manager, Kevin, said "oh no you have to paint the trim and sills".
My husband got upset and was referred to the sales manager, Jason. My husband told him, that he'd hurt his back in October, and couldn't stand longer than 10min at a time, and we didn't want to void our lifetime warranty because we got paint on the windows. That if they couldn't get painting handled we'd be cancelling the order and not doing windows or the front door. To make it right, Jason, is painting the sills and trim on the new windows. Also, we realized that new construct windows would be more money, "labor is more expensive" said Rick. When they told us we couldn't do replacement the cost difference was so high, we cancelled the order for the front door. The difference was $3000, which was FAR more than we were lead to to believe.
We were told 3 weeks and the windows would be in. (LIE#2). I took a week vacation 4 weeks after the measuring was done. My vacation came and went and never heard back from anyone. Finally the morning I returned to work, I get a call from the salesman who tells me that there was a 'delay' in ordering our windows. (HOW many people are ordering window in NE in Nov for Dec install?). Didn't know what the delay was or why just that there was a delay. The windows don't come in until the end of January 2017. Install scheduled the 1st week of Feb 2017. I figure things are gonna get better. NOPE. The bottom sill of my old windows comes out a bit from the frame (to me it's like a little 'lip'). The 'head' installer, Mike, asks me if I want that with the new windows, because "I can do that, no problem", I told him that I'd like it and to please do it.
His first attempt was an added piece of wood that was LOWER than the wood attached to the windows. He does this with the 1st 2 double windows they install. HOW this on any level was OK to him, made my jaw drop. Kevin the project manager happened to by stopping by and said "oh it's an easy fix don't worry". WORRY? Of course I am. How is adding a piece of wood that's less thick than the one it's abutting OK? Instead of sending "3 short and 2 long" single windows they sent 5 short. So when they finished (in 2 days not 3) I had 2 old windows remaining, additionally new upper sashes had to be ordered as one of the double windows came with grids and wasn't supposed to. "No big deal" Kevin says. This whole project would have been done in 2 days not 3 even with the 2 missing windows. The crew finished both days, I mean, sweeping the driveway and driving off done 90 min earlier than I was told.
My 20yo son notices the screens aren't fitting properly. He opened a window in his room and pointed to a screen, didn't even touch it, and it falls from the 2nd floor to the deck. Landing in a pile of snow. My husband asks the 'head' installer, Mike, about the screens. Tells him they're not fitting properly, they're VERY loose and one fell out. Mike's response was "it's a screen, that's how they come." My husband got upset and told Mike not to blow smoke up his **. Because of this 'altercation' with Mike, I was told by the sales manager, Jason, that Mike wouldn't be back for day 2. I told him that was probably best when the 'head' installer is telling the customer to suck it up. Mike came back on day 2. I wasn't happy.
The installers broke the exterior light by the back door. Not only does it not work, it's hanging off the house. When the snow melted, we were shocked at the mess left behind. Shards of wood, vinyl, empty rolls of something and nails, nails, nails everywhere. We have a dog, we had to keep him from an area along the house in the back because there were SO MANY nails. When I called Jason and Kevin about the mess left behind, Jason assured me that even with snow, I should "not be able to tell they were there". Well there's evidence EVERYWHERE, long pieces of siding, pieces of wood, as far out as 10 feet from the house! Did I mention the nails? In order to help protect the dog, my son picked up and filled a 9oz plastic cup with nails, both rusty and new.
In one of my many conversations with Jason, I told him we haven't called THD corporate and complained because HE, (Jason) is bending over backwards to make it right. When I told him Mike came back the 2nd day, he wasn't happy! He didn't know he came back. So a 3 day job (which ended up being 2 1/2 total) has been dragged out to almost 5. Kevin HAS come by with a magnet and collected the nails, wood and vinyl trash left behind. He can't do anything with my broken light, because a screw is stripped. Well Kevin, your crew took the light off. Tell me again? He also replaced the 3 sashes that needed replacing. (1 came with grids and wasn't supposed to and 1 came without grids and should have). Jason is supposed to come back and finish painting, and the screens (that were either 1/8" or 1/4" too narrow) need to be installed.
Needless to say, I will NOT be using THD for my front door, or any other home improvement job ever. I have to say the sales manager Jason has been super nice and has bent over backwards to make things right. Kevin, treats everything like it isn't such a big deal. Considering all the problems, I told Jason we'd like a partial refund on the installation. That has to go to someone named Chad, who I am waiting to call me (he gets til Friday).

Wow, What a joke! Home Depot came, measured and ordered windows for my home in October, 2016. It is now end of February 2017 and still no windows. They came out the first time and were "surprised" the windows were on the second floor. Had no ladders or scaffolding. Not to mention one of the windows was the wrong size, and the second damaged. I took off work again two months later (had to reorder new windows) and to my disgust, they show up 1.5 hours late and again were "surprised" the windows were on the second story. I am told AGAIN they can not install and another day off of work for me.
In addition the window for our bedroom was incorrect and would need to be re-ordered. I was told they would come the next day to install the kitchen window, with scaffolding which I took ANOTHER day off of work for. Guess what? They "no showed"... After several angry calls I find they canceled the install so they would not have to come and set up scaffolding twice! I certainly would not want to inconvenience the Home Depot!
I demanded that the foggy window in my kitchen get replaced asap as I did not want to wait ANOTHER "4-8 week" until the other one was re-ordered. I was told the next time was a week out. I took the day off, waited at the house until nearly 10 am when the Home Depot called and told me "no install today". And could not even give me a day as to when they could be installed! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? This was attempt #5 to get 2 windows replaced! I have taken off work 4 days, have no windows and no date? What a joke! What poor service! What incompetent installers. Showing up twice w/o the equipment to install? By the way, this was not a small crappy job in my mind... I was Paying nearly 7k for these two windows!! I have had entire homes built faster than Home Depot can install two windows!

Horrible experience with Home Depot purchasing and installing home windows! It started with the Sales rep promising the windows to be installed within a certain timeframe. He never replied to any phone calls, emails, or voicemails after purchase of windows. He did not know the 24 month no interest, only applied towards the consumer card. The installation was completed by a contracting company who had no respect for our home and had to return a few days later to complete the installation of the slider because they couldn't fit it in their truck with the windows. We were left cleaning up after them and having to repaint our window sill.
I had to go into Home Depot to apply for the consumer card to get the 24 month no interest, then speak to a sales manager to get the commercial card refunded, who was not apologetic whatsoever, and then speak to customer service for them to obtain and bill my new consumer card. I have taken a verbal survey and spoken to Home Depot customer service a few times now, requesting I get a call back from a manager, to no avail. I am disgusted someone can feel okay about running this company.

When the wind blows at night, the whole window sounds like it is going to crack. Then we asked HD to come look at it. They came "fixed" it for two more time. Now two and a half years have passed, it still leaks terribly. It has severe mold problem, the frame outside turned rusty and the floor is damaged. It has been such nightmare to my family. They said they will come look at it again but it's been two weeks since I complained, no one will give me an appointment so far. All of the people I talked to are liars at Home Depot. Fraudulent type practice at Home Depot. I am an older person. I purchased a front door, side lights (both sides) and a good quality storm door. That was in October of 2016. My total cost I paid (upfront-mandatory) over $3,200.00 with installation and permits. It took the manufacturer like 8 weeks, then the one (yes one) installer took a couple of weeks off but could finally fit me in on January 13th. Today. Great. Finally. He even called and said he'd be here by 1:00. I took the day off work (2 jobs). The local (Troy, MI) store just called me. There is a defect in the door that was sent. Are you kidding me? Why wasn't this checked right away? It's not something they do.
Now, I have to wait another 2-3 months or more for the replacement door. Also, I have to schedule the installer once the door comes in. If there's a problem with the new door, they wait until installation day to find a problem, if there is one. Then the whole process needs to start again. Home Depot has had all that money all this time. That is a fraudulent practice, horrible customer service, and I won't stop here. I plan to warn as many people as possible not to shop here for any products that need to be ordered or installed by their contractors.

(Total lack of customer service, support, and or consideration of customer concerns.) As a previous Home Depot employee, I am shocked at the treatment that my wife and I endured over a simple purchase and install of 3 Andersen storm door at the south Allentown Pa. #4140 store. My wife and I special ordered 1 storm door and purchased 2 in stock storm doors on Oct. 20, 2016. We were hoping for an easy purchase and install. WRONG!!! The Home Depot associates called, after measurements, and told us that the install date would occur Dec. 20, 2016. Wow, what a great christmas gesture, and it's not even halloween yet. So, I was hesitant. However, I agreed!
The ordering seemed to be the easy part. Oh by the way, we paid for the install and doors on Oct. 20, 2016. Dec. 20, 2016 came, I was at work. My wife came home from work early, to accommodate the installers and to make sure that there was someone available in case something went wrong. Wrong it did!! My wife and installers noticed numerous mfg. defects on all the Andersen storm doors. The installers put blue tape on all the defects and ask Home Depot to exchange the storm doors, which they did. The second set of storm doors were just as bad as the first. The installers and my wife took pictures of the defects. The installers ask that these storm doors be returned. It is now almost 4 pm and getting dark, no more doors or enough lite to install the doors.
The installers were awesome. Finally the installers cared and obviously this time Home Depot didn't. The installers told me that within 24 hrs. someone from south Allentown Pa. 34140 store would call us. Wrong!!! After three days of waiting I called and left a message for someone to get back with me. Finally after 6 days of waiting, an associate, which I will not name, finally called me back. I was told by the associate that he was waiting for the rep. to look at the doors, and I can't expect a perfect door. I just wasted $ 1300.00 on storm doors and install, I damn well better get perfect storm doors.
I waited, called numerous times at this Home Depot store and finally on Jan. 4, 2017, "Happy New Year," and was told that the doors were just hangable. WHATTT!!! I called the Home Depot Customer Care # 1-800-654-0688 at least six times. At the H.D. cust., we don't care about. I talked to Shumelya, and explained my issues. Shumelya seemed very concerned and ask me what type of compensation I was asking for. I told her, she then said "I will call you back between 24 to 48 hrs. with a resolution." This was on Dec. 22, 2016 and I am still waiting for a return call.
On Dec. 26 called again and spoke to associate Ext. # ** and asked for a return call by a manager. Jan. 6, 2017 still waiting for a return call. On Jan. 4 called and talked to associate Ext. # ** Trista and she put me on top priority to call me back within 24 to 48 hrs. I asked her also to call me back by Jan 6, 2017 by 5 pm with an answer, "We're working on it" or something. It is now Jan 6, 2017 7:45 pm. and no call back. Shocked!!! So lesson well learned, no customer care at Home Depot, just give us your money, and we will lie, false promise customers to death. Tomorrow morning I am going to the store to get a full refund, hopefully, with no more major issues. Both finger crossed!!!
I worked for Home Depot for 14.6 yrs., left 7 years ago. Glad I did, and boy has Home Depot turned into the yugos of home improvement centers. This is a culture shock that still stings. I must say that the store managers that I was fortunate to work with would be appalled at these actions and circus show from the associates, customer care center, and pathetic attitude towards paying customers. If I need a 2 cent washer, broken bag mulch, manure, top soil, or Home Depot's ever famous bowed, twisted, cole lumber, I will always stop here. However, if I need a special order door or anything of real value Lowe's is the place for me now!!!

The Home Depot door installers use a bait and switch scam. I went to the Vacaville store and priced a door and installation. I was charged $50.00 for a home evaluation which confirmed that the door would fit. The installer then told me he would not install the door for the price charged by home depot. If I did a lot of the finish work myself and took care of the alarm wires it would only be a few hundred more. I was then sent a new "estimate." This included a completely different door from the one I had chosen.
The price went up from $2,000.00 to $6,000.00. When I went back to the store to see what had happened I was told that the only brand of door that didn't leak in the rain was Anderson so they had changed doors. I was also told if I didn't pay the extra $4,000.00 they would not guarantee the work. This is an obvious scam which I did not expect from a company like Home Depot. The consumers need to be warned about doing business with them.

I was given a delivery date 3 separate times by the service desk and every time I contacted them about my doors I was told they weren't on the truck. I went in to the store in early December and spoke to the store manager and was told at that time that I told the manufacturer that I didn't want them until December the 27th. I finally gave up and bought two single doors and a casing kit and made my own French doors due to frustration.
I myself work for a contractor that does home services for the Home Depot and told the store manager that this wouldn't be accepted if our company didn't do what we were contracted to do in a timely fashion so why is it that the door manufacturer was allowed to get away with this. The manager looked at me and said don't go threatening him. I then told him I wasn't threatening anything because I was nothing more than employee and I had nothing to do with my employer’s relationship with the Home Depot.

I used to love shopping at Home Depot. But now I hate this store. The reason for it is installation of the windows. Chad who works there came to my home in August 2016. We signed an agreement to install expensive Home Depot brand windows with a lifetime warranty. In a month 2 Ukrainian guys came in to install the windows. I paid the whole sum outright. In September with Seattle rainy and stormy weather windows started leaking. There was a lot of water on the carpet, drapes and the TV. My husband and I started calling Home Depot to come and fix it just about everyday. A month later a guy finally came to our place after a million phone calls and stated that pa protective part of the window was not installed on any of the 3 windows. He gave me a report to sign and said that somebody will contact me shortly.
We waited about 2 weeks - no calls. Since October 20, 2016 my husband and I have been on the phone with many many people at Home Depot trying to arrange the repairs. They kept transferring our call from one person to another. Everybody would say that they will call us back or say that they will set an appointment within the week. Now it is December 13th and they are still pushing us around. The rooms are wet and cold and there is mold forming on the inside of the wall. We decided to file a court order. Damage, inconvenience, hours we have spent trying to resolve it, being treated with no respect and wasting money on a bad product and service and not getting what we paid for on top of being angry and depressed about it all... Please, please, people, never deal with Home Depot installation or repairs. THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER. And I will see them in court.

In the beginning... Stopped by Home Depot in Laguna Niguel, and selected a window manufacturer for replacing windows at our residence. Order was placed July 30th, with installation to occur mid September. It is now December 10th. The windows have been measured now 4 times, and the last visit windows were brought out for an install, and they were not the correct size. Major, major screw up!!! We ordered these windows for several reasons -
2. One window, a transom above the double front entry door, was to be a slider so as open up one panel to get the great breezes that our front facing entry porch receives. This being a goal for the Fall so that we could get fresh air from a side of our house that we have not been able to get at night... unless the front doors are wide open... and leaving front doors open all night is not an option.
3. Piggy back on top of # 2 with menopause. That window not going in is painful in multiple ways. I will not go into details as one can only imagine.
4. These windows were to be a test, prior to ordering an additional 25 windows to be replaced. This test has proven itself out as a failure with Home Depot.
Order windows in July, still sitting on the order in December with multiple botched attempts to correct. The last one was perfect; I was called the day after Thanksgiving, and advised that on Dec 3rd, the window installer would be there and we would get beyond the 3 month delay. Well, as it turns out, the installer showed up and the windows were not fabricated to the correct size for the installation. The installer was there 10 minutes and left... and we are still wondering what hurricane dropped in on us related to this order as one cannot get emotional or frustrated anymore about this one order. It is sick to be stringing someone out so long. It is simply a major screw up with no one accountable... even after the ball is fumbled 3 times. Give it up for Home Depot. If customer service reads this, then locate my phone number under my name above and email in the file. This is real bust of a story... and true up to the minute.

Loved a front door... paid the $30 for measurements... made an appt. He was so overbooked... then he said he will be here 9-11am on Dec 9th. Called and called to confirm. Never any answer. Went to work, called again, no answer. Then he called and said he would be at the house at 12ish. REALLY I WORK TOO. I can't leave work for 2 hours and go back...unbelievable! HOME DEPOT needs more installers... I going somewhere else because he is so overwhelmed... Why do you need somebody HOME for FRONT DOOR.

We ordered a bay window from Home Depot Exteriors, which we were later told by Home Depot employees never to use because they are notorious for mess-ups. In our case, we were promised it within four to six weeks. After six weeks we called and were told that they never submitted the order. We were told that they would submit the order then, but after another week called again and were again told that the order was never submitted.
We were then turned over to their regional manager, who promised to have it rush ordered and installed within two weeks. After four weeks, including a week when the manager didn't return my calls for emails, we were told that the window was in Vermont but could not be found. Later that day we were called and told that they built the wrong window, and tried to blame us for it, even though we had a signed contract with the correct information on it. This is outrageous, and we are not going with them anymore. Be warned!

I was so scared reading these reviews on the Simonton Windows installed by Home Depot, after I signed the deal, but I am pleased to say my experience with the installation and the quality of the windows was top notch! The installers took great care in my small home, making sure that nothing was broken and that it was clean when they left. They thoroughly insulated around the windows, I can feel the difference already. Two guys installed 6 double-hungs in 4 hours, and they were super nice. The windows seem great too... But sadly, I no longer have any excuse to not clean my windows, since they work so easily. Sorry for those of you who do not live in the great state of Maine... You would have received the service and quality expected from Home Depot.

I had placed custom door order on October 23, and was told will be in the store in 2-3 weeks. I called after few days and was told coming on November 17, 2016 Thursday. I called back in the morning on November 17, 2016 Thursday and was told, "It is coming today. Call back in the evening." When I called back in the evening I was told it will be another 3 weeks and coming on December 1. I had talked to door/window associate named Sam. He was extremely rude rather than being cooperative. I talked to manager Fu-Sheng, he called me back and said due to holiday on Thursday November 24 it is getting delayed for 2 weeks, which is ridiculous and beyond any normal reasoning.

Ordered and paid for a special order entry door and installation for my house in May 2016. Installers set a Sunday date to install. About an hour into installation I noticed the door was not made correctly as it swung in the wrong direction. I brought this to the installer's attention, who seemed baffled by it, and told them to remove and reinstall the original door. I went to Home Depot and recounted the issue. I was told that they would have to reenter the order the next day but that the assistant manager would follow up. After no follow up I began calling. I was told that the order would be entered and expedited. I was never allowed to speak with anyone further up in management than the special order manager. I was assured that the order would be expedited. I found later that the order would take 5 weeks. I called customer service and was told they would see that the order was expedited.
Home Depot finally admitted they entered the order incorrectly with the manufacturer. The next installer set a date to install and after taking a day off work to meet them I found that the door was the wrong size and couldn't be installed. I called and emailed Home Depot several time and could not get a satisfactory response. After countless inquiries I was told by store employees as well as customer service that Home Depot would certainly refund some of my money to account for the errors on their part.
4 months after I paid for this door, which was standard size and selected from the manufacturer's catalog, I took yet another day off to meet installers. The door was installed and I found that the top of the door was left unfinished. (I paid for a painted door.) I again sent email to Home Depot customer service to let them know the door was in and even though it was not finished correctly, I would keep it. Home Depot never contacted me again. I tried sending a week later and received silence. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a case. The case was sent to Home Depot and they were to respond within 30 days. They did not. They were given another 10 days to respond and they did not. I have received no contact from Home Depot.
From the time I paid until the time I had a front door was 4 months. There was never an issue with payment as I paid in full the first day I placed the order. Unfortunately once Home Depot has your money they have little to no motivation to deliver promised goods or services. Their customer service from day one asked, "how much do you want to make you happy?" I said "I want my door first." They then said, "ok, let's get you the door and then we can determine how much you should be compensated." Let the buyer beware when it comes to purchasing anything special order from Home Depot. The store employees can only do so much to help and they do not seem to want to let you have access to an actual manager. Customer service could not care any less whether they keep your business or not.

I purchased a door on 10/5/16, kept in contact through the building process, as I need delivery by 11/4/16. On 10/28/16 I was told the door would be delivered to the delivery company on 11/1/16 and they would contact me for delivery. I was contacted later that same day by the delivery company and told my door would be delivered 11/4/16 and I would need to be there to sign. Today is 11/4/16 and at 1:30 I still had not heard from the delivery company. I called Clopay and was told they had me scheduled for delivery and gave me a phone number to call. They said nobody had answered when they tried but to give it an hour and keep trying them, to get a delivery time. I said that was unacceptable and told them to look into my delivery, get the requested information and call me back.
I received a phone call 1.5 hours later from a manager telling me my door would not be delivered, as it was damaged in transit to the delivery company days ago. Excuse me, your rep just told me it was out for delivery. The Clopay rep then went on to blame everything on the third-party delivery company which I could not believe. Clopay damaged the door in transit and Clopay neglected to inform their customer, not the delivery company. I am now informed the replacement parts will hopefully arrive in two weeks, the door will then be repaired and then delivered. Because Clopay neglected to call me and explain the issue, I will now have to take a different day off work to accept delivery and am out $322. My $557 door has now cost me $879.
I posted to the Home Depot Facebook page and was asked to send them all of my information, so they could look into the matter. I posted to the Clopay facebook page and was told they would review the recorded phone calls. I replied back, saying that'd be great and to make sure the reviewed the calls from October 28 as well. Neither company has since responded back.

Absolutely worst experience with customer service. I started this wonderful endeavour on 09/19/2016 when I signed up on their website to receive a quote and consultation for blinds. I received a phone call later that day to schedule my appointment through their third party company. I scheduled my appointment for October 11th for 5pm-6pm. When the day finally came and no one arrived I gave them a call to see what the hold up was. When I first spoke with the absolutely pleasant woman on the other line she told me "we called you for a follow up, and you no longer wanted our service". Seeing as how I had absolutely no calls from anyone on this day I found that pretty amusing and told the woman that. She of course immediately had to put me on a brief hold.
She came back to tell me the scheduler she needed to speak with was on the other line and I needed to continue to hold. Anxious to know by this time Of course I continued to hold since at that point I've already wasted 15 minutes of my time. When the Woman came back the next time she told me "there was an issue with the DC and your appointment". At this time of course I was already flustered being told that someone called me which was a lie, and now there was an issue with the DC which no one informed me of. I asked to speak to a supervisor since I was now receiving two different stories both of which were out of my control and made no sense. After another 5 minute "Brief" hold I was on the phone with the scheduling manager. He informed me that the woman I had spoke to on September 19th was the wrong scheduler and scheduled me with the wrong department, of course apologizing and stating we should have followed up earlier.
At this point my blood had already boiled over and I asked him what follow up seeing as how now after missing the appointment I had to follow up with them. Still trying to gather the information and process if I would still consider their service I asked for their next available. I was told the following thursday between 2pm-5pm. I told him I would need 5pm-6pm which I already had in order to make it work. He said "the next available for that time frame would be the 7th of November". At that point I was baffled that not only they could fail with Customer service, but they could also care absolutely less about pleasing the customer. Instead of even trying to do something to resurrect poor communication and bad customer affairs they decide to and make me wait even longer. I would never recommend this company and frankly will never shop from them either because of this. If I could rate less than one star I would.

Home Depot customer service contacted me and offered another contractor to come to my home. I feel that this issue is being resolved promptly and professionally.

The contractors that Home Depot in Spring Hill, TN use is JD Doors. They are not professional and won't show up to measure your doors to begin the purchase and installation process. JD Doors will schedule a "convenient" time for you and then call at the last possible minute to tell you how inconvenient it is for them to come to your house for the measure. I refuse to shop at Home Depot now because of JD Doors. I will be spending my hard earned money someplace else. Thanks for NOTHING!

I wanted 2 new patio doors for my home. The Home Depot installer came to my home to take measurements and, after he submitted the measurements to the store, I went back to the local (North Kansas City) Home Depot to get professional help for the purchase. A doors specialist used Home Depot (HD) software to design the doors, with the measurements that had been provided by the installer. I picked the colors I wanted and paid for the doors. Installation was scheduled for 3 weeks after the purchase. One week after the purchase, another Home Depot doors professional called the to let me know that the Home Depot doors professional who had used the HD software to design my doors, had made a mistake and sold me doors that would not fit in my house; if I wanted the right doors, I would have to pay an additional $1100 (on top of what I had already paid)...
When I went to the store to talk to a very condescending manager about the issue, I was treated like dirt: She wanted to charge me a 15% restocking fee because she claimed I was the one who decided not to purchase the doors (I still wanted the doors but I was not willing to pay an additional $1100 for a mistake that the store made); She refused to do anything to fix the situation and treated me like the whole thing had been my wrong doing; When I told the manager that her lack of care was going to cost the store a customer, she simply replied with a "Oh, well." I still do not have my patio doors and I do not plan on returning to Home Depot for any of my purchases until the store compensates me for THEIR mistake.

On September 22, 2016 the installers came to install the windows that was charged to my account on the 8th of Sept. over $3500.00. The installers said the window area was not measured properly, therefore, the windows would not fit as they were supposed to. They jammed them in and used a lot of caulk to cover up the discrepancies. The windows look different from outside and just look wrong. I have tried to have The so called supervisors come and look and have them done properly but no one calls back or comes to date. Tried calling the store #3504 and corporate and got a runaround. No one wants to stand behind their products at Home Depot and I am very disappointed in their lack of care to their customers.
