    This has got to be the worst business ever. Wish I would have done some research before I chose them for a home appliance warranty. I reported to them that my home ac unit wasn’t working at the end of may. It is now the end of June. I have called them twice. I get the runaround that they are trying to find a contractor in my area. They told me I could pay for it out of pocket and would be reimbursed within 30 days. Well I’m glad I decided to look at their reviews. They find every way they can to not pay your claim. I have tried to call and cancel my policy but oddly I don’t even get a ring tone when I call. It is a Sunday so I will see what happens on Monday. But either way I will be stopping payment to them immediately. Hope this helps others. Please review the company you pick or pick one that has a good reputation.

    It is a horrible service. They do not respond to any service calls or claims, and any claims given are denied. They do not do any service calls and basically ghost you. The company is a scam, do not use, you are better off with any other company.

    Home Service Club is the worst diction I have ever made. I bought five year of service and I regret. the price is cheap but comparing to the service the gives, I very expensive. Save your time and money and run away from Home service club. They will try to find a way to say it's not covered. I bought service to the Pool equipment and also for off the ground hot spa. I called twice for the Hot SPA, even though they told me it's covered when I bought the policy, after long waiting they told me it's not covered. A few weeks later, I called about pool equipment, after long waiting, they saying "it has been determined that the push pull valve has been physically damaged and is broken, and is now in need of replacement". So, because it need replacement, they saying not cover. My advise, if you’re looking for good home warranty, stay away from Home service club.

    Microwave was not working so placed a claim Mar 18, 23. Technician came out for diagnosis and said the capacitor need replacing. Three appointments and six weeks later after replacing fuse, door switch, capacitor, magnetron tube, fuses and transformer, they said that the control panel and thermal switch needed replacing and it was no longer economical to repair. After another delay Home Service Club offered me $191 in lieu of replacement and said that it was their choice as to whether to replace or offer cash settlement.

    My argument that I really needed a replacement rather than a low cash amount fell on deaf ears. It will cost me more than $500.00 for purchase and to install a like quality microwave. Early in the process I suggested a replacement but was told that they needed to follow the technician's recommendations. I'm ready to cancel my contract now but will wait until I receive a check which they said could take 30 days.

    I purchased the warranty service for 6 years and canceled it in 5 months. They deducted $ 350 for 5 months of coverage as prorated. I reported one incident that my Heating system is not working. One technician came and mentioned the ductwork has been broken and he needs to submit it for approval. I waited for 30 days and there was no response. All this company mentioned is technician did not submit the report. After 30 days they assigned a new technician. He also came and reported the same. However, this guy submitted the report. Next day they rejected the claim as ductwork is not covered. Then I show them the document where they mentioned it is covered.

    The answer is, there is a section E under the ductwork that says physical damage is not covered. I am not sure how someone can go to artech and physically damage the ductwork. In my house we have only 2 adults and a small kid of 15 months. This company is a trap. They will make sure you are not satisfied with their service and then you cancel the policy so that they will deduct more money as prorated calculation. If you do not want to lose your money and time, then do not go to this company for home service. This does not know even how to behave customers and they do not even share the document before signing the coverage. Thanks. Shiba

    I submitted a claim on 02/02/2023 for my Refrigerator Icemaker as it wasn't dispensing ice. On my account's home page, it states that it is covered under my plan. The technician came out on 02/06/2023 and told me I need a new motor and he would let the company know what's going on. On 02/13/2023, I got an email stating that the claim was denied because the icemaker is not covered. It says it's covered on my account's home page but it states it is NOT covered in the fine print under Terms and Conditions. I appealed the outcome and they said the best they can do is pay $100.00 towards the repair. I paid my service fee and now I have to come out of pocket again to pay for the remainder.

    I put in a claim with HSC on Dec 27th to repair my water heater. They ended up assigning two different vendors which did not show up or call me to cancel. I called HSC numerous times and as of Feb 6th 2023 still no vendor has shown up, repeated calls back to HSC has no effect or results...Don't get this company!!

    I've been trying to get a PLUMBER for over 2 mo so far! 1) They can't find service providers in my mid sized town. They let me find someone, but no one will come out and sit around waiting for them to approve their quote. 2) They do keep assigning me the same provider who doesn't seem to be licensed. Neither they nor the provider will give me proof of license, so I have to assume not licensed (not on the state or city roster either). 3) Can't talk to a supervisor if you have trouble. 4) They can't help you decide if you need a plumber or appliance provider so I guessed wrong and now I have to pay 2 providers (if I can get a plumber). AWFUL. AWFUL. AWFUL!

    I submitted a claim online for a leaking pipe that was flooding a bedroom. I got one email that said they would be in touch about a technician, but HSC couldn't find a technician so they canceled the claim without calling or sending an email - zero communication. Of course we fixed the leaking pipe! And now they are saying that they don't reimburse work done. Ridiculous -- don't count on them if you have an emergency.

    I used Home Service Club to support my Rental in Rhode Island. I renewed my warranty for 6 years, but ended up selling the home halfway into the 1st year. Initially, I called to ask about refunding 5 of the years and transferring the name of the warranty to the new owners. I was told it would be 'no problem'! In the meantime, there was an issue noticed in a walkthrough of the property, so I asked a technician to look at it. There was a leak suspected in a bathroom; it should've been fairly easy to fix, but required getting into the wall.

    Due to the home being in between ownership, it took a little extra time for a technician to be cleared to enter and cut into the wall. The first hiccup was that the claim had been opened for more than 30 days and automatically closed. The technician tried to get authorization to complete the work order, and due to the auto-closed claim, had to reschedule. This process was an absolute nightmare.

    I called customer service no more than 3 times in order to open the claim, open a NEW claim and assign it to the same technician, then eventually RE-open the OLD claim. Confused? So was I!! Eventually, the new owners were frustrated enough that they didn't even want a year's coverage (that I had ALREADY paid for!) as they had no desire to work with this company. The technician was completely frustrated with the lack of support and inability to finish a claim that had already been authorized. I paid the Trade Call fee, I had been told I'd be able to transfer the policy, and I had paid quite a premium for the six years of coverage. In the end, the owners paid a completely separate vendor to complete the fix and I asked to simply cancel my policy.

    The result? I paid for the claim. Completely. As in, I would have been better off if I hadn't even had coverage from Home Service Club. I wouldn't have had a middle-man making the process painful and resulting in extra charges (the technician had wasted man-hours and parts that were not required anymore). All those charges were passed on to me as Home Service Club refused to reduce my 6-year policy (as previously agreed to) and in cancelling my claim, required I pay for all services. An absolute waste, a painful experience, and one that hopefully will serve to help others steer clear of this 'business'. Just save your own money and have local vendors fix your issues.

    When I got this warranty the representative I spoke to assured me it was fine that my home was old and they would cover systems and appliances with wear and tear. I signed up in June 2019. Then in December 2020 my water heater failed. My claim was denied and no help was given because of every little thing they could find wrong with it that they would not cover. Fast forward to December of 2021: a pipe burst. My claim was denied. Cost of repair was $650 out of pocket. HSC wouldn't have offset any of that until I said I was going to cancel. I agreed to stay on when they offered to reimburse some of what I paid to get it fixed.

    Finally, we are in August of 2022. My outside AC unit fails. Compressor has gone bad. It's old, from 1999. Technician recommends replacing the unit. HSC... guess what? Right. My claim was denied. I decided to appeal. I was supposed to receive a follow up email within 24 hours. I waited 4 days with no follow up email with a case manager's information. After checking my email again and seeing nothing, I decided it was time to cancel. The only thing I really got from this company was paying a service fee to be told "no we will not help you."

    My first time using the HSC was for a Dishwasher repair board replacement. The total price was approx $300. Guess who got the bill? I got the bill. Not only did I get the bill I got two bills for different amounts for the same job. 4 calls to HSC each time "We're very sorry, we'll email Sears," blah, blah. All lies. After months of dealing with Sears billing I got sent to collections. I finally just got an email from Sears billing stating HSC does not pay their bills and it falls on the customer to pay. They only pay about 1/3 of whatever it is if you're lucky. I've been dealing with this for months. "No Worries Just Service"

    I called the company to place a service call on June 28th to address my A/C unit. The company outsources the work with various companies. Tech assigned to address my issue arrived at my home and was in my home for less than 5 minutes. Charged me $95 and told me he would get authorization from The Home Service Club and would have to return. I asked what the problem/diagnosis was but he could not answer. So basically I just paid him $95 for nothing. He said he would contact me. 2 weeks passed and I did not hear from him or the Home Service Club so I called The Home Service Club and they said they would escalate the problem and would contact me in 24 hours. Well today is July 28th so I called them again since I never heard back and they simply told me they would have another tech/company come to my house.

    They said they would waive the $95 fee but I would have to wait another 24 hours to get an email confirming date and time. In addition they simply said that the company that came to my house initially did not want to do the job. And this is acceptable??? A month and not has been done???? No follow up, no reason, no explanation. Basically I’m at their mercy. Why do I even pay for a home warranty when service is below par? Now I have to wait?? Horrible service, horrible company but worst are the companies they outsource to. They should vet them carefully. Please don’t waste your money on The Home Service Club.

    These guys took over three months to fix our oven only to lowball the replacement cost. They came in at the original price of a 25 year old oven. They tried to fix the unit but didn't and left the unit inoperable for three months.

    After spending a good week reviewing multiple home warranty plans with several companies and being lied to, I mentioned to the HSC Warranty sales rep that I was quite concerned with the dishonesty and wasting of my time with these other companies who are quick to make false promises to get a sale. The HSC Warranty sales rep assured me this would not be the case, but it actually was the case. I realized after reading the plan, he blatantly lied to me. I made several attempts to complain to his supervisor and the president of the company. Crickets. This company is operating in an unethical manner and doesn't seem to want to make it right. Buyer beware and read the fine print in the plan.

    I filed a claim on my broken dryer. HSC sent a technician out and I paid the $65. The next 2 weeks I was calling back and forth with HSC regarding the next steps. Found out that the tech that HSC sent out was a fraud, took my money and NEVER filed a diagnostic report!! After several attempts to reach the tech HSC offered to send someone else out. *(My family was very upset because we realized that we had a unmoral person that was sent in our house by HSC) Finally 3 weeks later a tech came out (did a great job) BUT the dryer would need to be replaced.

    HSC sent me a offer for $325 from Lowe's. They have the specs, the only dryer you can get for $325 is a 2'0, my dryer that is supposed to be replaced with a comparable unit is "7.0, so I rejected the offer and was sent to claims. I got a email stating I would get a email with the case mgr info to contact in 24 hours. It is now the 4th day and I have received nothing! I called HSC and they gave me a number to the case manager line. When I called them they stated there was nothing from HSC in their system and they could not help me.

    When I called HSC back the rep advised will have to wait another 72 hours before a case mgr will contact me!! UNACCEPTABLE. At that point I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR. The rep advised that he could not let me speak to a manager and I will just need to wait 3 more business days! He flat out refused to allow me to speak with a manager. It will now be a month that I have been waiting with no resolution and no working dryer for my family!! This has been the worst customer service experience!! Will someone please help.

    My Whirlpool stainless steel dishwasher stopped working correctly, called HSC and they sent out their repair man. After paying his $95.00 inspection fee he determined that the washer motor and the venting fan needed replacement. Cost of a new dishwasher would be less than trying to repair it. After repeated calls I was assigned “Sean” as my case manager who I finally spoke to after 3 weeks. He offered me $245.00 of Lowe's gift cards as a settlement. I explained to him that the cheapest decent dishwasher was over $500.00 and I would still be responsible for the delivery and installation to the tune of $210.00. According to the contract section E #15 it states that HSC will pay up to $600.00 for access, diagnosis, repair, or replacement of a covered dishwasher. He was adamant as to his offer and I asked for a supervisor who I spoke to today. She also was adamant with the $245.00 offer.

    We went back and forth as she informed me we had spoken for 21 minutes, way passed the allotted 15 minutes allowed(?). I asked her for the $600.00 that is stated in the contract and she vehemently denied that, trying to tell me that I was wrong in expecting them to honor their own contract. I explained to her that over three years I have paid them over $2500.00 to insure my belongings. I asked her why she would not honor the contract and keep a happy customer and she could not care less. I told her I would not accept the $245.00 as a settlement. I asked for her supervisor and was told that she was it. As far as I am concerned, do not do business with this company as they will not perform when needed and will just take your money. I am extremely disappointed and displeased and very angry with the way I was treated. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!

    Beware!!! They give all kinds of reassurance, even negotiate a great final price, however they don’t send you the fine print contract until you purchase the agreement. Three months after initially purchasing the warranty I called to fix a toilet leak. 2 plumbers canceled in a span of 4 weeks and I ended up fixing it myself. Then the next month called because I noticed my AC was leaking and my service call was $65. The technician spoke to Home Service Club for authorization without my knowledge to run a diagnostic test, which they authorized and after they found the leak wanted me to pay an additional $180 to something I wasn’t even a part of a conversation. Total cost for a new coil $ 3700 and they are not covering due to rust and erosion. I’m currently appealing it.

    They also send tons of emails for advertisement which has no problems getting through but when they decline claims or anything that is time sensitive, it’s in your junk mail or non existent. And don’t get me started on their customer service center, you will only get someone that can help you only when you join, if you have an issue, they are incompetent. Also, if and that’s a big if they do cover a claim the cap is $6000, and it is $2000 per item appliance different from what they initially explained. You will have to stay with the policy until it is paid off. So essentially you are really paying for the repairs yourself. This company is a nightmare. Please, do better than us and find a better company.

    Was a customer of this company for 2 years and filed my first claim in December of 2021 for my water heater. The company they sent advised me that my hot water heater needed to be replaced. I was responsible for paying 75.00 fee for them to come and access the issue and 1275.00 and the Home Service Club paid 425.00. It in March of 2022 my hot water heater stopped working and HSC advised me that I had to go through the warranty company for the heater. I called the water heater company and was advised they would send out the part but I had to find someone on my own to install it. A plumber came by who advised me that, I am missing the drip pan, the pole that was used is not up to code, it was not tightly secured into place and they used a dryer vent to connect the heater.

    He advised that my home would not pass inspection because of these things. He gave me an estimate of 1265.00 to correct the issues. Home Service Club would not assist me with the matter and told me that I had a 30 day warranty to call with concerns. Since 30 days have passed it would be a new claim in to which I would pay for the majority once again.

    In addition to this also in March my refrigerator broke. I filed another claim. A gentleman came to my home for less than 5 minutes and advised he needed to replace the fan. He asked for the 75.00 fee and said he would submit the info to HSC. For 3 weeks I have gotten the run around from them stating that they need more info. Today April 1st 2022 I called and requested for them to cancel my policy. I was hung up on and ignored. It took me over an hour to get my policy cancelled. They outright refused to cancel it and advised me that if I cancel it I would have to pay them the 425.00 they paid for the water heater. I have paid them over 1080.00 since being with them and my only claim costed them 425.00. How dare them. I want them to be responsible for paying to get my water heater installed correctly.

    The Home Service Club is the WORST home warranty company we've ever worked with. Do not buy a policy with them. I’ve spent several hours calling their company to follow up on service requests and their communication and service is horrible. I’ve had 3 work orders and were wrongly denied coverage on ALL of them which wasted a lot of our time and money. When I disputed the decisions, they gave me the same runaround and refused to cover any repairs. The company could not find a technician to contract with them so I had to find my own on all my claims. They authorized me to find my own tech and said I would be reimbursed the difference I paid for the service call fee (which was always much more than $65 that was the contracted amount I was responsible for per policy) but I never received any reimbursements.

    The customer service is terrible. Every time I called I had to talk to a different representative who never followed up with me on any issues and never responded to my emails. So many hours were wasted trying to get answers, and as I read in other reviews on this company, you cannot get in touch with a supervisor, authorization department, or even the department that handles policy cancellation. The only representatives you can communicate with are under trained, entry level, customer service reps who can only reply that they will send an internal message and someone will get back to you (which no one will). I requested to cancel my policy and get a pro rated refund (per the contract) and have still not received any confirmation or reimbursement.

    I initiated a claim with HSC in July, 2021 to address a plumbing leak resolved to no avail. The Log Doctor was assigned my claim although they have a "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau and have had 4 claims opened in the past 3 years. Customer Service, King, Allen and other Help Desk staff informed me that I have no "right of refusal" and can't request a more qualified contractor. Why was a plumbing job assigned to a Fireplace Company. Utterly ludicrous. I give this company an "F". Their Help Desk could care less about their customers and our #1 investments (our homes) which we work hard to acquire and maintain. Buyer beware and know what to expect when you choose this company.

    I signed up for the most comprehensive package. When I filed a claim for my hot tub, I was told they couldn't find a service contractor and I would have to advance all the money. If I wanted it fixed, that was my only option. After the diagnosis of the hot tub problem, my claim was denied and refusal to reimburse the $156.80 minus deductible of $65. The denial was for parts that were not part of my hot tub, but of an internal heating home system. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

    This company is quick to take your money and extremely delayed to refund what is due. It is impossible to speak to a manager, and they do not seem to value customers, only their money which is concerning. They are not easy to work with, and I am starting to suspect illegal activity given the nature of my current situation with them. I highly recommend not using them.

    It appears they do promise more than what has been delivered, UGH! I am not sure the technicians are qualified except for making sure they receive service fees. Then you wait for your claim, the email that seems to be lost in cyberspace, after multiple calls you finally receive it, but it doesn't make much sense, then you have to go round and round to understand why they have denied paying for something the contract clearly states, but they find some loop hole that their technician wrote that's not true. Then you go round and round again.... Still waiting for (2) Claims to be taken care of 6 weeks later. But it is difficult to talk with the Claims person who is always on the phone and unfortunately I too am working and miss their call. I hope to be able to change this review soon!

    The Home Service Club is a supposedly Home Warranty Company. Unfortunately when a claim is reported, they will invent false claims in order not to reimburse you for your failing appliance. Even with a detailed report from a Repair Technician that suggests the unit is not repairable and needs to be replace. This company operates fraudulently in changing wording to deny most claims and leaves the client replacing out of pocket themselves. DO NOT USE OR SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY!     I canceled my policy back in March. The customer service department told me I would have my refund in 90 days. It is now the middle of September and I have been calling every day for the last month requesting to talk to a supervisor to find out why refund has not been processed. Customer service tells me they can not provide me a number for accounting which is who is supposed to process my refund.

    I have requested to talk with a manager or supervisor and get told none are available and they will have one call me. I have not been contacted by anyone from the company. I keep calling and calling and get the same answer. It is very frustrating coming from a company that prides themselves on Customer service and even claims they have received awards for best in business for customer service from 2015 to 2020. Don't expect anyone from the company that can actually do anything to call you back when requested. I will continue to call and if nothing will be contacting a lawyer to resolve this issue.

    When I was signing up I told the person that I was unhappy with my current home warranty and I had trouble to find a qualified technician for my Viking refrigerator. He promised that I can choose my Technician and they can only verify that the technician is qualified so I called viking and got the authorized dealer to send the technician. And now the HSC says that they do not support outside technicians so I decided to cancel it and it's been 3 days that they are supposed to call me in order to cancel the policy. Who knows if I get any of my money back.

    About home warranty club HSC company they phone Number (800) 601-1009. STAY AWAY FROM Home Service Club Warranty!!! My experience has been a nightmare. Read any of the reviews (the honest ones, anyway), and you will see precisely how they operate. Their business model is to take the customer’s money, give them nothing but headaches in return. Agents are full of promises never delivered on.

    • It’s pretty amusing that the extensions each agent provided were all the same number. If do you call, the mailbox is always full.
    • “We will call you back today.” (Don’t count on it.)

    • “We have scheduled a technician to come to your home.”

    They actually sent notices to me via email, with the time, date, and phone number of the “technician” scheduled to come to my home. When there was a no-show, I called the number listed on the ‘Claim update,’ and the company HSC listed said they had no scheduled appointment at my home and had never heard of HSC. One company said they don’t ever deal with home warranty companies. The worst part is they did this TWICE in a row. Imagine damaging the reputation of legitimate businesses, the angry phone calls these innocent people/businesses must get, all because HSC is a fraudulent sham.

    When you have had enough and ask to speak to a manager or supervisor, there is NO WAY to escalate an issue. Agents will tell you that is not possible. I have been hung up on for the asking. After almost three months without a working furnace and no resolution, their answer was: “Find your own service person to fix the issue. But you must call us when they are in your home so we can approve the claim. We reserve the right not to approve the claim.” So, I am to find my own service person to fix the issue, and you may or may not pay the claim? So what exactly am I paying for here? Honestly, this company should be shut down. Look at the number of complaints, and they are all pretty much the same. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

    I had a sewage plumbing issues along with other home issues. Water heater's recommended to be changed also. It takes weeks to get service. It takes many hours on the phone to get anywhere that leads to getting nowhere. They sent me a email I have not received. They say they sent again and again yet I don’t have it. Pertaining to my water heater they can’t talk to me about the water heater replacement till I answer the email I didn’t get. They only said they’re pay 152 for a the plumbing bill that was $447 that I paid. They haven’t paid me back anything yet. They told me to find the plumber because they could not.

    I sent them the estimated cost beforehand and called them when technicians arrived as requested only to be stalked and slapped with the hour wait bill on top of the labor hours. Beyond horrible. I had to pay the plumbers the hour that I was in the phone with hsc before they were allowed to start. The lady said, "Bear with me just a few more minutes," 20 times. It’s weeks after still nothing is resolved or paid.

    We just moved to the new house in So California Laguna Niguel. Most appliances 3-5 years old and we decided to buy Home insurance to have protection as promised by company policies. 2 months in policy our washer failed. Insurance sent a technician for valuation for our cost $75. Then they disappear. Multiple calls to Customer support for more than 2 weeks were not answered. We have been told that they are not authorized to provide information and suggested wait for the Email from the claims department. Eventually, after ~2.5 weeks Kim (ext. **) from the Claims call us and told us that Washer is not covered (even in the policy said it is) because it's only 1.5 months into policy. Then I've read reviews on this site. All of them exactly the same. They will do everything and anything to not pay your claim. Stay away from this company. I'm calling my Credit Card to Dispute my membership and cancel insurance policy ASAP...

    After six weeks of begging for a/c service in 100 degree weather. This company did not send me a service representative. I asked multiple times to speak to a supervisor to no avail. I finally had to hire my own a/c contractor and pay out of pocket. I then cancelled my 3 year policy after 8 months. This company owes me $1,056. It has been over a year. I have been dealing with this company, making multiple phone calls and multiple emails. I have yet to receive any response from this company. This level of incompetence is unbelievable.

    Update 11/5/2021:

    I was informed by HRC’s Senior Case Manager Victoria W. on 7/21/21 that they were going to send me a check for the amount of $1,133.34 that was owed to me by Axiom. She asked me once more to verify my address and I received her confirmation on 7/23/21 that she received the corrected address. Initially she gave an address somewhere in Virginia, and I live in California – not sure whose address the Virginia one was…. I updated my review status to 5 stars for their prompt handling of my case and was ecstatic at getting my funds returned to me.

    As of 8/14/21 I still had not received any checks in the mail as promised, so I contacted Victoria again. She contacted me via phone and told me she was sure that they had sent the check out, but would check on it again.

    Forward to 8/25/21 – I called her office and was unable to connect to her “direct” extension. I called the general office and was connected to someone named King. He assured me he would send Victoria an internal memo – yes, she was still working there, he assured me, but they had changed to a new phone system. Regardless, he said, he would contact me again the next day without fail to advise what the status is of my refund.

    Next day I did not receive a call, so about a week later I contacted HRC again and spoke to yet another person. This person – whose name I did not capture – informed me that he would contact Victoria and King to ask them to contact me back.

    Since then, life has been busy so I had not had the time to keep contacting them…Needless to say, I still have not received any check, correspondence, or anything from HRC. Pretty awful customer service, I’d say. Are they broke? Going out of business? Can I get interest on the funds they owe me? Can I add more to it for all the time I've spent in trying to get it back?

    Original review:

    I was given Axiom Home Warranty - which was apparently taken over by HSC - as part of a property purchase. I called them and they sold me on extending the time for the warranty period to 3 years. Told me I wouldn't have to worry about a thing when things go wrong. Paid about $2K for the additional extension. My AC broke down within a couple of months, and I was told that they would not cover it due to the original inspection stating that it may need freon in the future. I seem to get this a lot. So I paid for the AC replacement out of my own pocket $5K+ and asked for a refund on the additional policy I paid for.

    That's when the runaround started. Trying to get a hold of someone was ridiculous. I'm sure I was blacklisted and no one answered the phone despite calling over and over. Here are just some of the times I've tried. Each time I actually got a hold of someone, they duly noted that in my customer profile it does state that I was supposed to get the check, but no check ever arrived: This was all in 2019.

    – Spoke to Sophia 6/18, Spoke to Taylor Stevens x5076 on 7/1, Emma, x5056 on 8/6/19,. - Spoke to Megan 9/5/19 x 5032, was asked to send her an email with my address. no response. no check. (tried calling: 6/18, 7/25 – 5x, 7/26 – 3x, 8/4, 8/14). - Left message for Emma, 8/19 -2x, 8/30 just from my cell, not counting land line, spoke to Megan 10/22 - will call me back, 10/31) no response. My lawyer offered to send a letter, but why bother? It'll cost me that much for the lawyer fees, and no one will probably get back to me again. Save your money, your sanity, and peace. Avoid them!

    The HSC has a BBB service rating of C because their site is a fraud. As of today, I have called them 10 times and have not been able to get to cancelations to get my money back. They denied all requests even though their website said it is covered (gas leak, rust). They are a call center and will not transfer to a person that can actually help. I don't have any way of getting my money back even after requesting it over the phone for a week. You should know to steer clear of this fraudulent company.

    Updated on 06/22/2021: Since complimenting the company on this forum June 8 I have received 6 of my 7 refunds - LONG OVERDUE - cancellations April 8 + 30 business days = MAY 20.... First refund received June 10 = 42 business days. THEIR ACCOUNTS PAYABLE PROMISE IS "30-45 DAYS FOR REFUND". Second set of two refunds received June 11 - 43 business days. Third set of two refunds received June 15 - 45 business days. Calling the administrator everyday - no answer, left recording - 9 days in a row now.... No response. $750 refund held 53 working/business days past cancellation date..!! **Just another reason to not do business with home service club**. FYI - email to hscservice@hscwarranty.com DOES GET ACTION (but no communication!).

    Original review: After purchasing multiple-year warranties for multiple rental properties I discovered Home Service Club does not hire capable contractors and will not service appliances or air conditioners if they have any sign of rust. An air conditioner is exposed to rain. Garbage disposals are used with water. This company excels at making excuses & finding ways to avoid service. Every service call was a nightmare!

    After cancelling March 27, 2021, "effective date" was granted April 6 by a mysterious "Accounts Department" who are protected from inquiry by every customer service rep answering the phone. It has been 62 days. I have been promised the return of over $5,000 - supposedly it takes 30-45 days. "Someone will call you back"...who? "Someone in the Accounts Department"...when? "Within 24-48 hours". Hasn't happened after 6 lies to that effect over the past 2 months! It has been 48 "business days" and still no calls/satisfaction/refund! Beware This Pitiful Excuse Of A Business!!! - I have found a N.Y. State governing body to whom I can register a complaint. -

    DO NOT PURCHASE A HOME WARRANTY FROM THIS COMPANY. I've had Home Service Club (HSC Warranty) for more than 6 years. Previously, I had issues with the only claim I ever filed. They did not approve the service for over a month while I went without a gas water heater. I had to get it repaired on my own and then file for reimbursement. They only approved less than 50% of the cost and did not pay, but rather gave me a credit for monthly payments. I still continued the warranty, but then this year, suddenly I did not receive a monthly statement nor did the automatic payment get deducted. I contacted HSC and was told their system was being upgraded and all would be well in a day or two. They could not accept any payment over the phone since the system was down. I could not log into my account either. The login would just return to the login page.

    Since then, I have contacted them almost daily for more than 3 weeks and every day it is the same story - system upgrade. In the meantime, my payment was actually deducted but I did not receive notice or a statement, instead I received notice that my account was in arrears. I attempted to resolve this over the phone and was still told the system is being updated. I then requested my contract be cancelled and received an email stating that my request had been submitted, but every time I call to verify since, still nothing on record and supposedly the system is being updated still.

    Back in Nov 2020, I had to cancel my policy due to their inadequate handling of my claim. They said they would process a refund (about half what I had paid for the policy 4 months earlier). To date, every month I call asking for a status on the refund, I get the same answer, they "can't transfer me to the refunds dept they can only submit a request". It's nearly June 2021 and I get the same answer. You cannot escalate the call, there is "no supervisor in the building." The Home Service Club is anything but home service. I am so sorry I ever was a customer of theirs. I do not recommend this company to anyone.

    Do not use the company. The price per month may seem appealing but you are far better off saving it in a savings account for the moment something breaks. Case 1 my stove wasn't working properly. Came with the house in bought less than a year prior. They sent their chosen contractor out for a $75 copay. He was late and took 15 minutes to tell me it's broken and he will have to come back with parts. Weeks later I have to call HSW for an update to be told they were informed it's electrical and recommended full replacement since parts are backorder indefinitely. But by the way that's not covered.

    So I have to find my own replacement out of pocket and for $150 credit send them a receipt. They request Lowe's only but you can purchase from anywhere if it's NEW and you must provide receipt for reimbursement. In my case $150 credit. Took a number of calls to get the credit applied over span of weeks and more than 2 emails sent with receipt attachments. Escalated to a senior person before it was applied.

    Case 2. Ac repairs or replacement. 3 contractors, 1 on my own dime, one 2nd opinion and one sent by HSW for the copay. All resulting in no response for months. I contacted via email and phone each month with no luck. Final outcome was escalated to supervisor for cancellation of policy. The website has been revamped for the last few months, so all communications must be done on the phone, their response is that when it's back up you can log in. I want to cancel and I want to view my bill and updates on claims. Can't do that over the phone as easily. Same excuse for months. This is over 5 months of minimal communication and only if I call them, no resolution of claims or straight rejection of claims and cash out of pocket. Service is terrible and communication is worse. Avoid at all costs. BBB ratings is currently a C as of the writing of this review.

    I am wondering if The Home Service Club does provide any warranty service at all. We were enrolled with their service for more than year and a half when we for the first time had to make a call for a Warranty service for something inexpensive as a garbage disposal. They did not provide a service, kept delaying, charged us additional $75 for service call and never despatched a repairman. This was totally ripoff /robbery. We called them mostly every day for 3 weeks and asked for the status, reiterated our issue and with no progress and they keep telling us they were working on it internally. At one point they told us they handed over to Lowe’s for repair but did not give us work order number for Lowe’s to trace. We called the Lowe’s to find out and they were more helpful trying to track a work order on their system but never found anything.

    We finally had to call a repairman at our own expense to fix it after the 3 weeks because the garbage disposal was causing leaks and that was causing other damages under the cabinet. It was terrible experience for us, they took the premium and service fee never to provide any service which really makes me think if they are really in business to provide warranty service or simply collect premium until customer makes a service call.

    Totally regret enrolling with them. We have complained to BBB and asked for reimbursement for service fee to the minimum. Do not enroll with them. Totally disgusted with their service. If they are not fixing something cheap as a garbage disposal, don’t think they will get to anything expensive as AC unit or other appliances which is normally why homeowners hope they fix. Reading some of the positive reviews here makes me question their authenticity. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY for your services.

    I signed up with Home Service Club for a warranty on my Home Appliances. I submitted a claim for a broken Microwave oven and from the start received the run-around. First they said because of the age of the equipment (2013) they wanted ME to purchase a new microwave and they would spot me the $75.00 service fee...really? I said, "No I wanted my oven repaired, that's why I purchase a warranty..." A tech was sent out after two more weeks. I paid the $75.00 service fee and he found a damaged part. He called for repair authorization...and that took another week and a half..

    Now I get a call from the warranty company that they consider the problem a maintenance issue and no repair is covered...so I have been strung along for nearly a month..paid the warranty fees ..the service fee and my microwave is still out of service. I immediately demanded cancellation of my warranty..but lo and behold..they don't have a direct line for cancellations...it will have to be submitted... I have worked with American Home Shield before and they took care of items quickly and ..yes they were slightly higher but I guess that is the difference...they fix stuff. This was only what I consider a small repair...and I am totally dissatisfied and will not work with this company again and strongly recommend that if you are looking for a home warranty look elsewhere.

    Old AC unit has been repaired 3 times in past 4 yrs. Compressor has finally gone out and will have to replace AC and furnace due to age (30 yrs old). Technician reported to HSC that this was normal wear and tear, but they say the pictures tech sent them shows rust on outside unit. Every time it has been worked on and parts replaced not one tech reported rust or told us this was a problem. They just replaced part that wore out and said everything else was ok.

    Their contract states they will pay $2,000 on AC or furnace if can’t be fixed, but all they have offered to do is put in $7000 2 1/2 ton 13 Seer Lenox and discount it $1000. The tech told us we need 3 ton 14 Seer which would cost another $1000. The tech (from Captain Air, Canton, Tx) gave us a bid for Goodman 3 ton 14 Seer for $6300 which includes 10 yr warranty on parts & service. I have talked to 2 different supervisors at HSC and was told they can’t mail me check for $1000 so I can buy the Goodman unit because I don’t have a tax ID#. Captain Air has offered to give HSC their tax ID# and make out check to us and them to be used toward new system. Now I can’t get head supervisor (Lori) to return my phone calls or her mailbox is full when I call. I was told there is no one else I can talk to. Their # is 18006011009. Would appreciate any advice you can offer!!

    I would give HSC warranty a zero if I could due to the quality of repairman they provided and warranty coverage.

    Problem 1: Understandably, due to COVID, HSC experienced some delays in finding a repair company (over a month). After HSC found a good company and notified me this was scheduled, I received a call from another company, rated F by BBB, notifying me they were my new repairman and the original repairman had been cancelled by HSC. This led me to call HSC because to me this was a random call in the age where phone scammers are so prevalent. HSC then mentioned they did cancel my original repairman and replaced them without my knowing. Upon a quick Google search, I found the reviews on this repairman were less than satisfactory. I checked the BBB site and this new company was given an F rating. I did not want a company rated F inside my house, especially because my repair was related to a gas line. After many calls to HSC, they reluctantly scheduled a new repairman with better reviews.

    Problem 2: The repair technician could not determine the exact failure but said he would get repair approved by HSC. I hadn’t heard anything about the status of the repair, so I made multiple calls to HSC to determine the status. They claimed the repairman said it was “broken” and they would not pay for the repair of a broken appliance, but they offered $150 toward a new product. After calling my repairman/office of the repair company to ask what was said, they called HSC back to be clear this problem was due to wear and tear, but HSC already set the status to be replaced and they wouldn’t change it. In the end they offered $100 towards a $493 repair, or $150 towards a $2000 new appliance (price of the equivalent product to what I currently have).

    Problem 3: Over 2 months after my initial request to get my appliance repaired, HSC called to inform me there was a recall on my appliance in question and thus would be closing the claim completely. I called the manufacturer of my appliance and they assured me that my appliance was not affected by this recall. I had to call HSC back multiple times again, just to get their initial offer of $100 towards a $493 repair or $150 towards a $2000 new appliance back.

    Problem 4: More than 3 months after my initial request to get my appliance repaired, I called HSC back to ask why I couldn’t get the full price of the repair, except my deductible, covered since the repairman/company called HSC to say it was due to wear and tear. HSC “lost”/had no record of the repairman/company calling them clarifying that the failure was due to wear and tear. I said I could get the repairman to call them again, but they said they already provided their answer and would not change it.

    I know this post was long, but I would have liked to have known these things before buying the annual, nonrefundable warranty and paying for it upfront.

    My husband and I have been trying to cancel our contract with this company for the last 4 months. We have called and emailed numerous times, and we still have not received any contact from the company's accounting department. We cancelled because we paid upfront over 3 thousand dollars for 5 years to cover home related items in our new home. We thought this was the sensible and responsible thing to do so we would not need to feel stressed is anything broke. After almost 2 years, our washing machine broke. After over two months, they finally responded and told us that they refused to send someone to our home because our washing machine was old.

    During the pandemic, we had to use public laundromats and advised the Home Service Club Warranty Corp of this issue on multiple occasions. If we knew they would simply deny our requests and take our hard earned money, we would have never signed up with them. Similarly, we would have bought a new washing machine, but waited for them to respond. I am trying to get our money back from this company, and even threatened to get a lawyer multiple times -- but they do not care. This has been hell for my family, and I strongly warn against anyone ever using them. The pattern of complaints you see here and on BBB are 100% accurate. I am still begging them to leave this hell hole. I have spent days on the phone with them. This is too much.

    Have them for 3 properties in VA and SC. They have limited techs so unacceptably long time to get anyone. They find any way to get out of their coverage and deny claims. Rude customer service. Long response times or get ignored and no reply or call back. Issues with AC took over a month to get tech to come out and they denied claim to fix. Other issues with AC at other property took over 2 weeks+ to fix. They just expect you to stay without AC! They approved a microwave replacement a year ago and have yet to go out and replace it. I’m constantly having to follow up and talk to different people cause they have high turnover. They are a scam... Stay away!

    I purchased a home a year and a half ago (in 2019), the home warranty was then Called Axiom Home warranty. When I renewed it in 2020 they changed their name to (The Home Service Club) and did not need any of their services until 8/4/2020. I submitted a claim for "Plumbing Systems (faucets)" that is clearly in the contract description of covered services and was issued a claim number. I also received an email with the confirmation and another with the information of the Technician information (GreenLife Plumbing) on 8/10/2020.

    A week passed and no one contact me so I called the technician, they responded to me by saying that they did not have a request from my home warranty for me, I gave them all the information including the service request number. I then called the Home warranty and made them aware of the situation and was told that they clearly have in their records that they have sent the service request to the technician, this calls went on for a weeks and I got very disappointed and highly concern that something did not feel right. I decided to call both places at the same time and The home warranty hung up on me. I have been calling and I feel like they may tag my number internally and didn't answer my calls any more, whenever they do pick up no one answered for about 2 weeks.

    I have called today directly to the payment department and I they did pick up and requested for a cancellation and a full refund, They failed to provide the contractual services and did not even try to contact me to make things right. I am expecting a complete refund and no cancellation fees due to their breach of contract. This company charges the full year amount ahead and not on a monthly payment plan so its not recommended at all!!!! Please beware of their shady methods to prolong the time it takes for them to provide a service and in my opinion it is done on purpose.

    Completely disappointed, unhappy and will never deal with this Home warranty ever again. I do not recommend this company at all. They just want your money ahead and fail to uphold their contract agreement to provide the services I payed for. I will see if it's necessary to speak to a lawyer and take it from there.     Let me start by saying that I do not recommend this company one bit. This review dates back to September/October 2019. I am writing this review now because I am still dealing with the fallout of dealing with this company. My HVAC unit had a crack in the heat exchanger and the company claimed that this was not a mechanical failure of the unit. I have a master’s in mechanical engineering with a strong background in thermal systems, so I know a bit about how a heat exchanger works.

    After months of back and forth with the company (mainly because I would only be able to reach a customer service representative once every week) and backing my communications up with research and technical papers discussing heat exchangers, I was able to get them to cover $1000 of the $2000 that I was covered for. Although disappointed with this, I needed to get my HVAC unit replaced ASAP because fall/winter in Minnesota is unpredictable and we were already into October.

    The unit and installation cost $3000 total. I was to pay The Home Service Club $2000 and they would pay the full $3000 to the HVAC company. I signed and sent over information and they did not hesitate to take the money. I eventually was able to set up a time to get the new unit installed. The local technician did a great job and I was very pleased to have this all behind me and have a new unit.

    Or so I thought... One year later, I get a phone call saying that The Home Service Club never paid the local company who did the installation any money and that action can be taken against my property (aka a lien). I have all documentation showing the $2000 withdrawal by The Home Service Club, the credit authorization, and the email exchanges showing the $3000 total cost and breakdown. I am confident that this will eventually be resolved at no cost to me, but after this experience I don't want anyone else to have to go through this and get scammed by this company.

    From day 1, they have denied covering ANYTHING finding some fine print or loophole in the so-called contract. Cover pest-control but not bees.. Cover HVAC but not "wear and tear". Not their responsibility.

    I do not recommend this company. We signed up with Home Service Club in May 2020 when we purchased a new home. I was told that all appliances were covered and if they could not be fixed they would be replaced with a new unit. Well our refrigerator broke shortly after we moved in. I filed a claim. First problem was it took almost 2 weeks just to get a technician out to see if our refrigerator could be fixed (and that was with numerous calls to Home Service Club asking for status and when we could expect someone).

    Technician came out and said he needed to order a part and get the approval for the work from Home Service Club. We waited a couple days to hear back from someone/anyone on the status. Again after calls and asking to speak with a manager. The manager called me back and told me that the refrigerator could not be fixed and the would give me a fraction of the cost for a new unit due to depreciation. We discussed that this was not the service sold to me. (I was told a whole new replacement not a depreciated amount). The manager and I agreed that my contract could be canceled and I would get a full refund. My refund would take about 2-4 weeks to be received.

    Well it is now been almost 4 months since we canceled our contract with the Home Service Club and I have still not seen my refund. I have called the manager that I canceled my contract with and all I get is voicemail and no returned calls. I have called the customer service department numerous times and all I get is my refund is being processed and all that they can do is put in a status request. And every time they promise to call me back with and update I never hear back from them.

    I have called asking to speak with a manager. And according to the customer service all they can do is put in the request and a manager will call me in 24-72 hours. I have not received 1 call back from a manager. I have asked to speak with someone/anyone over the managers. Again all customer service can do is put in the request. I have asked for direct phone numbers to managers, the accounting department, supervisors, anyone over customer service and nothing. They will not give out this information. Please save your money and do not use this company!!

    I purchased a 3 year warranty less than a year ago. A couple months later, my washing machine broke. They would not repair or replace it, just give me a 200 credit at Lowe's toward a new one. Two months later, my master bathroom shower starts leaking. Took a week to get someone out, and then another week for them to deny the claim. "Corrosion" is not covered. It seems that nothing is covered. I cancelled on July 20th. They said I would have a check in 4 to 6 weeks. It is Sept 30th and they still have not issued a check. Oh, and my "scheduled" refund, if I ever get it, is less than 2/3rd of what I paid, even though I had the policy for around 6 months and they paid out nothing. The only reason I am cancelling is because they refuse to cover anything. Don't throw your money away!!!!

    After publishing the review, I got a call from HSC. I am offered a refund amount that matches my expectation. So I am satisfied with this refund part of the HSC experience. Though their offer is in exchange for this follow up to my original review regarding the resolution, fine, that is fair enough. I fulfill my part of the deal by resolving this review, let's see if they follow through their part of the deal and how fast I get my refund.

    I bought a 5 years and 6 months contract in Sept 2019. In Sept 2020, my shower needed a repair. Just a simple replacement of the diverter valve. I made the service request and waited 2 weeks for their contractor. I understand we are in time of a pandemic, the service time is slow. But not that slow! Finally the contractor called in, to tell me they refuse to work with Home Service Club because they are still waiting to be paid for the last rendered service for that company! Call HSC again, I am told to wait for them to find me another contractor or I find one then let them to contract with him. I immediately found one contract to come the same day, same morning! But the contractor refuse to work with HSC. Though this came even better for me because I was only charged for $49 instead of HSC's per service fee of $65!

    After this disappointing experience, I decided to cancel my policy. What is the point to get a home warranty if you cannot get the service when you need it??

    When I signed the contract, the clause stipulates that I could cancel anytime with the pro-rated amount refund. But now they gave me a refund amount with $300 short for processing fees! That is not written anywhere in the contract! The wait time is 45 business days to get the refund check. I promise you, once I get that refund check and the accompanied details of the refund (I hope that they do details justifications), I will file a complaint to my state's consumer protection department for that $300! DO NOT buy from Home Service Club!

    My air conditioner had a minor problem that caused it to no longer work. After having the estimate and diagnosis performed within 24 hours, HSC has essentially paused communication. It’s been nearly 2 weeks and no news. I just want to know if my repair has been approved, but the company refuses to let me know and I’m given the run-around that it’s pending.

    Salesman that first contacted me to go with HSC was not honest about the company not depreciating any appliance that needed to be replaced. They offered me $75.00 for my washing machine and no customer service will return calls. I have called many times and sent emails for the company to listen to recorded conversation between me and their salesman to prove that he told me company does not depreciate appliance that needed to be replaced because they even would not send repairman and told me they would only give me $75.00 to buy a new one.

    I would NOT recommend this company whatsoever. I bought a three year agreement for my home service which was mistake number one. I had an AC Unit not cooling my house. I called them and two weeks later I called back because they never responded to me. Finally they called someone in another town to service me which I still have never heard back from and this is 6 months later. So I called The Home Service Club again and cancelled my account with them. They told me back in April I would be receiving my partial refund back within two months. This in now September 2020 and I still haven't received anything back. I have called numerous times and they put me on hold for a while and then comes back to tell me someone will call me back which has never happened. This company has not been credible and buyer beware! I have also emailed them but NO RESPONSE on that either.

    This is my very first time with HSC and the first time to request service. My AC stopped working, I requested service on Tuesday. On Wednesday they assigned me to a contractor which I have to call and schedule an appointment. I called the contractor the same day who gave me an appointment for Friday. I waited and waited on Friday no one came. I called back no response I called HSC they confirmed that the contractor is going to call me back. No one calls. I called back HSC, they said that they will try to reach the contractor and if he is not available they will assign me to another one. No response or follow up. Then by the end of the day the contractor left me a message stating that they won't be able to help me and that my home warranty have to find another contractor.

    On Monday (today) NO RESPONSE. I called HSC and narrated the whole story for the 4th time and they answered the same thing “we will follow up with the contractor and will let you know“. I told them please cancel my contract. I will return back to my old home warranty a bit pricey but I don’t need to communicate with contractors at all. They do that and schedule the appointment for me. PLEASE BE AWARE YOU WILL WASTE YOUR TIME. I regretted it.

    Consumers beware! Bought a 4-yr contract with HSC last year for $4999; had to use twice for a microwave and a garbage disposal replacement. On both occasions very difficult to deal with service reps who would not contact you on the phone only by email, issues not resolved for up to two weeks (waiting for them to deal with Lowe's to obtain a replacement for my garbage disposal). Later had issues with my pool pump and they completely disregarded my claim; weeks later I get a call from another company based out of California who was working apparently with HSC; nothing resolved.

    Finally got fed up and contacted them to cancel my contract; it has been 4 months and I am still awaiting for a refund of the balance paid. I have been calling since May and all I get is outsourced customer service that say they will call me back with an answer on my refund status but nothing; the customer service themselves will not answer the messages I have left. I have already placed a complaint with BBB and still have not heard from them. Do not engage with this company in any type of business, they are not honest and have no desire to keeping customers happy, only their money.

    We have had HSC for about 5 years. Every time we need something checked or replaced it is so difficult to get any help from HSC. Our heat went out at the beginning of winter. They did not resolve the issue for months. Replacement cost was about 4K. We had to pay half. Now years later our refrigerator is not cooling. Freezer works great. They sent a company called Simply Service who missed the appointment and didn’t call to reschedule. We immediately requested another company along with a call back from a supervisor because HSC would not send a different contractor. We never got a call from supervisor and was forced to deal with a company who couldn’t figure out the issue with the refrigerator which was a leaking water filter. Now again months later we still have no refrigerator in the middle of a pandemic. My family is forced to eat out every day. HSC is a very poor choice and service will make you lose sleep.

    Fraudulent company trained how to deny claims and give you runaround. I’ve been member for almost year and never had one thing fixed so far. I’ve ongoing A/c claim that they sent technician after Many phone calls and 3-4 week wait and then never approved the claim stating need new Ac. When contacted the technician he stated I don’t need new Ac but that the company has never fixed anyone’s claim yet in his experience. They keep hanging.

    Now they want me to spend .8k for new Ac. My ac is 7 yr old and well maintained. They supposed to fix it or replace it but they stare it is not maintained so they cannot fix it and I’ve to spend 8k for new one. Next I have plumbing claim for last 1 month and they have not bothered to send anyone. They Gave me a number of a tech who refused to take the call as he is not licensed in my county. This lame excuses and fraud is their expertise. I’ve complained to district attorney to investigate them and will take it up as far as I can.

    Do not under any circumstances use this company for purchase of a home warranty. All of the negative reviews confirm our experience in dealing with this home warranty company for an air conditioner compressor problem while under warranty. We contacted the company multiple times over the course of several weeks in July 2020. The representatives did not return phone calls, hung up on us, made statements that a service provider had been contacted, yet they would not tell us which service provider. No service provider contacted us and when we called the warranty company once again they said a replacement service provider had been contacted no explanation as to why - and the cycle began again. We received no service whatsoever. This company’s dishonest tactics are designed to wear one out so that no assistance is provided and no payout made per terms of the contract. Buyer beware.

    I have been a customer for 5+ years. My first claim was for my AC unit that went out. The claim was denied because the complete system wasn't from the same company. The unit was in the house when I purchased it. If they are that specific, they should inspect and let you know if you're not eligible prior to taking your money. I figured that was a fluke and stayed with them.

    Now, my second claim is for my refrigerator that won't cool. I filed the claim online and didn't get a confirmation that was supposed to be automatic. I called and waited on line for 40 minutes to get the confirmation. The next day, they called and assigned a technician. The technician called me at the end of the day, but wouldn't schedule an appointment because they told him the wrong service fee. I called HSC back and waited on hold for over 20 minutes, to be disconnected. I called back and opted for the callback option. They returned my call late that evening and said they would contact the vendor with the correct information. He wouldn't answer their calls, so they left a vm. The next day, I left vms for the vendor, who didn't answer or return my calls.

    Now the 4th day with no refrigerator and after throwing away all of my food, I call the vendor from another phone. He answers, but refuses to schedule an appointment because HSC owes him money and he has to resolve that first. I immediately call HSC to try and get another vendor, so I can get someone to at least come and look at the refrigerator to start the repair process. They try again to contact the vendor, who does not answer their calls. Now, the vendor has been dodging my calls and their calls for 3 days. They refuse to give me another vendor or allow me to get my own. They say that they have to speak with him first. How is that going to happen if he's refusing to answer any calls?

    As the paying customer, I really don't want to be caught in the middle of their vendor issue. I just want to be assigned a new tech, so I can get the service that I pay for. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor and they said they can't transfer me. They can only open a case to have a supervisor call me back in 24 to 72 hours.

    What kind of business treats their customers this way? Why am I in the middle of a billing dispute with their vendor. It's been 4 days and I still don't even have an appointment to get my refrigerator fixed. Don't they know we're in the middle of a pandemic? If it was a washing machine or dishwasher, I would probably be more patient. But, I need to go shopping and replace the food to feed my family. That can't happen without a working fridge. Clearly I have wasted thousands of dollars and will now have to pay to get my own refrigerator fixed. I could've bought several appliances for the money I've wasted with this company over the years.

    The Home Service Club is always trying to scam people. There are all various obvious signs of scam. It is like a blackbox system, you open a claim online it goes to some back end group to discuss the outcome without even sending the contractor out for inspection. So the outcome is decided (not being covered because of act of nature) even before inspection. There is no way to follow up online, so you have to call and wait for 40 mins for someone to come to talk. In my case they were avoiding my calls because I used their option to request a call back from them, and I only get one ring and the call gets disconnected from their end. This happened close to 5 times. Can you imagine that? They are trying to check box with being deceptive. That was the bad customer service part.

    Now let's come to the scam part, they played my ac unit repair as "act of nature" in this "case power surge". There is no evidence that there was any power surge in my area. I checked in my neighborhood and no one else's appliance failed. Secondly, the contractor they sent over, Century Air conditioning wrote the following in their diagnosis to them "Upon arrival upstairs condenser compressor not running. Tried to hard start and will not take charge to start up. Dead compressor." No where he mentioned the reason for failure and after calling him he shared the diagnosis with me. He confirmed that Home Service Club are trying strong arm me as he doesn't believe it was power surge issue. He said he has worked long enough with Home Service Club to know they are scamming and making my life difficult. They just want me to get tired and throw in the towel.

    I then asked another random top rated AC company to come over for second opinion and he mentioned that it was a mechanical failure due to freon leakage which is the most common cause of AC compressor breaks. The freon leaked to due the valve which I have a picture and share if you want. I also have that report in case needed during the consumer affair complain.

    Later I shared the second analysis with Century A/C company (your contractor) and he seems to agree on the Freon leakage causing mechanical failure due to normal wear and tear. Now all the reports are contradicting their made up story of "power surge". Even the contractor they sent agrees with me and he said he never shared the analysis saying it was power surge issue. I had to wait for 3 weeks from HSC to know that it is not covered by them due to act of god or nature. Welcome to HSC matrix. STAY AWAY from them. They have bought paid reviews online to show that they are best in the business.

    Watch out for this company or you're going to "get stabbed behind your back". Read the contract in detail. That's really funny that I read one of comments. They got deny because the water leak in the garage is not inside the house and they don't have outside coverage. You know what they told me for the water leak who has the outside coverage for pipes. They told me they don't cover any pipe under the slab or floor even though it's outside. I even confronted with them that the sale man told me they are going to cover any labor costs go with it for opening the ground and whose pipes are above the ground or not under the slab? They responded that sometimes the sale man is just trying to get a sale. Now I get the feeling of betrayal. They just didn't want to pay.

    Our first experience was terrible, and the second was worse. They don’t answer the phone when called and rarely return messages. Entering a claim was hard. But follow up was even harder. It took over a month for them to arrange someone to troubleshoot our AC unit. They first tried to deny the claim based on the home inspection but they were looking at the wrong unit. It took over 3 months to get a $10 capacitor replaced. Nine months later and the same unit stopped again. About 2 months after they got the repair quote back they refused to cover any repairs.

    First they told me that the HVAC company said it was out of code and unsafe to operate. They wanted me to replace the unit but would not say if they would pay any part of the replacement. I called the service company and they told me it was not unsafe or out of code and it was a straight forward repair. Now they are claiming that it is obsolete and not covered. So our experience has been that the warranty we got was not worth the stress or the money.

    If I could leave a negative 15 stars for this warranty company I would in a heartbeat. They have the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. Let me tell you how AWFUL HSC is. On Sunday, June 7, 2020 I submitted a Service Request for the air conditioner at my rental property in Virginia. On Monday, June 8th I called them and expressed urgency in getting the A/C repaired because my tenant has 2 young kids. The HSC Customer Service rep put me on hold and came back on the line stating that my service request had been marked as "urgent" and someone would be calling me with the repair contractor info. I waited until noon and no one called me.

    So, I started looking for a contractor on my own. I found one who was able to go out that same day. He told me the motor blower (fan) had to be replaced. He completed the repair the very next day - Tuesday, June 9th. On Wednesday, June 10th, I paid the repair bill with my credit card. The contractor emailed me the receipt. On Friday, June 12th I emailed that receipt along with a detailed message to HSC to receive either reimbursement or a service credit towards my monthly statement. I have been calling them every other day since Monday, June 15th still trying to get status on my reimbursement. Every single time I call it's the same B.S. reply - "a supervisor will call you with status of your reimbursement". To this day no supervisor has ever called me. Today is the last straw!

    I called HSC and demanded to speak to a supervisor. Do you know what the CSR told me? She said "I don't have a supervisor's phone # or extension to give you because we only communicate internally through instant messaging". So, I asked her "How do YOU report to your supervisor? Do you not have an email or phone # for the person who oversees your work?" She replied - "The supervisor's email & phone # is only for internal employees." She flat out refused to give me any contact info for any supervisor or manager at that pathetic company. It shouldn't take multiple phone calls for over a week just to get status on a reimbursement. I did their job for them!!! I found the contractor! I paid for the repair! HSC was supposed to do ALL of that and they failed to provide me with speedy service.

    So, at this point the only thing they have to do is give me a service credit. How hard can that be?!?!?! I am FURIOUS with their incompetence and complete lack of customer service. I'd like to know exactly what I'm paying them for every month? I'm ready to cancel my contract and file a complaint with the BBB. If you're considering getting warranty service through HSC - DON'T DO IT!!!

    We submitted a complaint to get our AC fixed 3 weeks ago, the tech charged us 75$ only to tell us that there is a leak "somewhere." HSC denied our claim w/o even running a full diagnostic and this is when we have coverage for replacement of the AC unit. Worst, they didn't even have the courtesy to tell us that they denied it. We have been calling them multiple times, only to be put on hold for a long time or getting the phone hung up. The tech eventually told us our claim is denied and is now asking us to charge even more for a "full diagnostic." And we continue to get NO response from HSC - most pathetic experience!

    Please, please stay away from this company! I’ve worked with several different home warranty companies, and while some can be mildly frustrating, I’ve never anything remotely close to this. I’m convinced, as are other reviewers, that positive reviews are fakes. It is literally impossible to get a hold of anyone at this company. And you cannot request to speak to a supervisor or someone is a different dept. EVER. They say they cannot make the transfer because they are in different locations. They will tell you someone I.e, a supervisor or someone in accounting, etc. will call you back. No one will ever call you back! In my most recent experience, I was hung up on after over an hour wait because I insisted I be transferred to a supervisor.

    Further, they will NOT pay for claims. I have an ac repair and they will not repair because they say there is “damage” to the unit. Their technician confirms there is NOT damage and it is a mechanical failure. Still they will not answer my emails/phone calls. I truly wish I never left American Home Shield. I’ve never had these issues with them. HSC was a little cheaper so I made the switch. Worst decision ever!

    This is the first review I've written on any company and I've experienced bad companies but nothing like this. But I'm so shocked at their lack of customer service and ability to honor a contract. Our A/C went out last week and I've called every day since. They either say they'll call me back and never do, or the phone is disconnected while I'm on hold, or they don't respond to email. However, if you want to purchase a contract with them, someone answers immediately and willing to sign you up and take your money in 2 minutes. I ended up paying to have the A/C fixed. Save yourself time and money and go with someone else.

    The money spent to purchase this home warranty was a complete waste. The company first denied coverage for a malfunctioning pipe in our garage saying that it was not within the home. We cited the actual warranty, which states that anything within the perimeter of the home foundation is covered. They relented. They sent a tech. He said, "Gosh, never seen this before! You should have it checked out by someone else."

    Then HSC called and said, "Sorry, we can't cover it" and proceeded to once again say it wasn't "in" the home. They then sent an excerpt of the warranty which contradicted this point, saying coverage was for items within the perimeter of the home foundation. Ultimately, HSC is like any other insurance company only more so; pay the money and then get denied the coverage when you need it. My advice: save your money so you can pay for repairs out of pocket -- you'll have to anyway.

    I submitted a claim on 5/10. On 5/11 I was contacted by 'Megan' a 'Claims Manager' at HSC who wanted a copy of my home inspection. I complied. After multiple inquiries about the status of my claim I have not received an answer. I called customer service and was told a local company was handling the claim and would be reaching out to me to schedule. This local company did not have the claim information and told me they have not done business with Home Service Club since middle of last year.

    I made several more attempts to reach someone at Home Service Club to get answers but voicemails go unreturned, emails are not replied to, and calls to customer service leave me on hold for up to an hour at a time (at which point I have had to hang up). Even an attempt at an online chat was ignored - I have screenshots of the chat.

    I had signed up originally for their highest tier plan and went in knowing home warranties try not to pay out, but even my minimal expectations of getting a response is unacceptable. The service needed is a simple exhaust fan repair, not even a large expensive ticket item. The lack of customer service and response is disgusting.

    Having horrible experience. It is a month since we opened a service request for fan repair and there is no progress. I have called customer service multiple times and there is no help. Each time, the standard answer is, "We will follow up and get back to you." You do not have any option to speak to supervisor; seems there is no one to escalate your concerns. After multiple calls, they assigned a technician for repair but even that person is not reachable.

    We purchased a warranty from this company and have been nothing short of disappointed. In fact, I have filed claims with the Better Business Bureau and NY Attorney Generals Office because they should not be allowed to scam anyone further. Our first claim was never addressed as they claimed they were emailing us information that needed to be completed but we never got any of the emails. We finally gave up in frustration.

    Knowing we were going into battle for the second claim, we began documenting every conversation with them. They sent a tech to diagnose our air conditioner (after we had already had our normal servicer look at it) and the tech agreed that the condensing coil needed to be replaced due to leaks caused from vibration or normal wear and tear. HSC claims this is “physical damage” rather than wear and tear so would not reimburse us.

    When pressed to explain how these things differed, Sofia, the supervisor, told us she had zero technical knowledge and could not explain the difference. When asked to speak to someone who could, she refused. She just kept reading the same thing to us over and over and could not answer any of our questions. Do not buy anything from this company. The time and effort you will spend following up with them and arguing with them to get anything done is not worth it. Their contracts are not worth the paper they are printed on. Total scam.

    It's been two weeks since my AC broke down here in South FL. The minute I found out it was working called HSC and let them know what was going on. They gave me a name of a local contractor and told me I had to make the call to get service appointment, which I did. The contractor finally came out and I was told by them that my unit needed to be replaced. Called back HSC and informed them what I was told. They in turn said they needed a diagnostic from the contractor in order to proceed. We spent a whole week going back and forth trying to get this done. That's after me calling every day and getting the same response. We are still awaiting on the diagnostic. I finally got fed up and called the contractor and asked if he had done this and he was no, the HSC folks don't answer and we don't have time to be on the line forever.

    I called HSC back again and let them know what I was told by the contractor. HSC still had no answer for me. Finally last Friday, after one week of waiting they told me they had diagnostics but that now it needed to go through the claims dept. I asked that if I could speak to someone there but no, that was not possible. Now I've been waiting for a whole week again, calling every single day getting the same answer, "We are waiting on the claims dept to review your claim." This has gotten nowhere. We are down to week 3 in South Florida heat with no air. This has been a crazy journey with this company. After paying for their warranty for so many years and now actually needing to use it I get all this back and forth. It is ridiculous. I would not recommended to anybody. Save your money, put aside a few bucks a month for this kind of emergencies and don't deal with companies like this.

    Purchased Policy For entire year on April 21st. Made a claim on my garbage disposal. First off it took two days for a tech to show up. 2nd After tech showed up and gave company the report, 3 days passed with me calling daily. No answer on claim. After 3rd day I called sales to tell them my experience with them and Anthony proceeded to tell me how convenient the disposal happened to break 2 weeks into policy, when I told him I wanted to cancel, he hung up on me. There after made 2 more attempts to cancel, they just placed me on hold.

    Finally a lady name Lori in their consumer advocacy department truly helped me out and cancelled policy and gave me a confirmation number, blessings she helped me. They are so unprofessional, they hound you to sign up but, once they get your money you are considered a non-factor or they can do whatever they would like to you. They are giving me an issue over a $60 garbage disposal. Come on really? I paid more just for service call. Beware. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY.

    Had outside electrical boxes crash. GFI was not the issue. Called The Home Service Club and was told that there's a wait due to COVID-19. Did not have a problem with that and let them know. A week later they called and said they were still not able to fulfill. If I knew an electrician, have them call THSC. I understood. Today they call and tell me anything outside is not covered. Why not tell me to begin with? I'm annoyed and frustrated.

    My dishwasher went out in my new house about 5 months in. After calling my home warranty, I was told that because the dishwasher is 5 years old they will just provide a courtesy replacement. They ended up offering me $295 towards a new dishwasher. While this is not a complete replacement I was satisfied with the outcome. The process took a bit of time but I got a new dishwasher for much less than a new one would cost me.

    Horrible Company! They are quick to sell you a plan but when you need them don’t expect to be of any service. My dishwasher went out 5 months into our warranty and I opened a claim and was told a technician will call to schedule. After 3 days of hearing nothing I called them just to find out they haven’t done anything with the claim because they didn’t have my home inspection on file. Nowhere does it mention that you are required to provide that in order to receive service, and quite honestly I feel like if they want to evaluate the condition of the house they should send their own team. After sending the home inspection 3 days went by and still nothing.

    I called again and was told that they don’t have my home inspection but they are looking at replacing the dishwasher and I should be contacted by the offer department with an offer. No one can tell you how long it will take, seems like they are trying to tire you so you end up going with a different plan. Two extra days have passed and no call. When I called them to ask to speak to a supervisor I was given a handful of excuses: “they are at a meeting”, “I can assure someone will call today”. I decided to not hang up until I spoke to a supervisor. After 2 hours the rep came on the line and said: “someone will call you back soon, good day” and hung up without giving me a chance to speak. I’ll be canceling my policy after this!

    I filed a claim on my AC 2nd week in March 2020, I didn't get a response until a week later, a few days after someone from HSC contacted me after numerous calls the contractor finally came added coolant and mentioned other things. A week later 1st week in April HSC called to notify me repairs were approved and contractor would contact me to schedule appt. A few days go by I call contractor whose phone always goes straight to voicemail leave several messages no response. Well coolant helped a little until this weekend over a month after initial claim AC completely out today 5/1/20.

    Contractor still nonresponsive. Contact HSC. They offer to contact contractor. Well 2 days later still no AC in Texas HEAT. HSC hadn't attempted to send another contractor, has not called me to provide any status updates. I called daily not to mention they are not available regularly on weekends for emergencies. This claim has been going on over a month now and nothing, I intend to cancel these services and seek a full refund for the last 2 months???? Their services have been unavailable. This is terrible!

    Do not purchase from them. Please!! I am still waiting on my refund, for a month now. I was double charged. They owe me $525. Was told they canceled the contract but I’m still getting it taken out of my account. Thank God the contracts are about to expire. It was a waste and they don’t fix nothing. They make excuses after taking your claim money. I rarely ever write reviews but this company made me take time out of my busy schedule to write this review in hopes to steer people away from the mistakes I and many others Made. You’ll never get your refund based on the other reviews. So they just steal your money. Now I have to go to a higher power to fight for this. And I will. Just to be a pain in their butts.

    Once I purchased a one year warranty all was perfect. After researching this company I found many hidden bad reviews and found that they are not accredited at this time. Less than 24 hours I canceled. When asking about my reimbursement I found that I was on hold for over 20 minutes on each call that I made. (3 separate times). I was told it would take 2 to 4 weeks to get my card reimbursed. It's been over 30 days and two emails sent and no response.

    Updated on 04/17/2020: I wanted to provide and update to our real time experience with The Home Service Club. As of today 4/17/2020. My husband has been calling the company every day trying to get an update to our claim. At this moment my husband is on the phone with the company and they claim that they have been trying to call us for the past couple of days. This is not true. I have had my cell phone on me and so has my husband and neither one of us have received a phone call from the company.

    They are trying to pass the blame onto us stating they have been unable to contact us. It's amazing how they were able to call and email us when they wanted our inspection report but now all of a sudden we are the unresponsive party. This entire company is a joke. My husband has received nothing but the runaround from them since the beginning with no resolve and cooperation from the company.

    Original review: So my husband and I closed on a house on March 24. Well on yesterday 4/13/2020 we discover that the fridge is leaking water and is not producing ice. I submit a request on line only to receive an email from the claims supervisor that they haven't received my Inspection Report and can't schedule a repair request without it (had no idea it was missing because everything was supposed to be handled through escrow). I emailed the supervisor back and provided her with the requested report and asked about scheduling a repair now that she has the report. Well I never received a response to that email. I called, waited on hold for 1 hour to speak with that same supervisor and for her to tell me that someone will contact me with the name of a repair company.

    A few hours later a rep calls and tells me that Don's Appliance will be calling to schedule a repair. My husband and I waited all day yesterday for Don's Appliance to call only for us to have to call them and for Don's to tell us that they are not contracted with Home Service Club and haven't been for a while because The Home Service Club hadn't been paying their bills with their contracted vendors. Don's has left 3 messages with them in order to try to get some contract set up so that they can come and repair our fridge, and they haven't received a response.

    Today 4/14/2020, myself or Don's Appliance hasn't heard anything back from The Home Service Club and I am currently on hold (so far 1 hour and 15 mins and counting). I received an email early this morning from the same supervisor telling me that she didn't receive my attached inspection report (it was attached to my original email). She made no mention of the numerous times that myself, my husband and Don's attempted to reach out to her yesterday and no acknowledgement of our repair.

    This is a real time review with no resolution so far. My phone call just ended (literally their line just dropped my call after holding for over 1 hour). SERIOUSLY. I'm so pissed right now. I think my husband and I will just have to pay for it ourselves and cancel our policy with this company. HORRIBLE experience and horrible company! DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!!! It is a waste of time and energy.

    I purchased the 3-year service plan less than a year ago which is a few thousand dollars. I have been requesting service online in the past few weeks for a refrigerator to no avail. The online process doesn't create a confirmation email despite generating a service request number once the request is submitted. I then decided to call the 800 number and request the service on the phone.

    I have been on hold, multiple times without luck to speak with a representative, each time for almost 30 minutes before hanging with frustration. So I decided to contact their sales department instead and get patched through to the service department, you know, a back door approach. The sales representative answered the call in less than a minute and curtly transferred me to the service department for another 30 minute hold and no response. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever had to endure. It appears that sales is still running smooth yet once you are hooked, service is not provided.

    This is the worst home warranty service I have ever worked with, and as a REALTOR I have worked with almost every warranty company that does business in Virginia. From terrible customer service to outstanding vendor bills over $25,000, it's hard to imagine a worse way of doing business. The final straw was when I attempted to cancel my account. They refused!

    Since I'm working from home more during this coronavirus outbreak, reach out to me if you want to join a group action. I'm going to make some calls to the attorneys general of Virginia and New York to see what I can do on that front, but if I can't find any satisfaction there I'll begin searching for a class action attorney. They are absolutely the worst group of shysters with which I've had the displeasure of doing business. -1000 stars.

    Home Service Club has outstanding online reviews, but I am here to tell you to RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!!! Our 5-year-old refrigerator stopped working so we filed a claim with our home warranty, Home Service Club. Within a few hours I received a call from a supervisor who proceeded to tell me that she would contact our local appliance repair shop, and have a resolution fro us the next day. Instead of getting a resolution, we proceeded to get the run around; not one of our repeated calls was returned. After 2 weeks passed by with no resolution and no communication from Home Service Club, I canceled our warranty. However, we have not yet received a refund.

    Updated on 03/06/2020: My previous review of HSC was not very good. They took it seriously and have made it right! Most companies would not have gone to such lengths to make things right! Very Impressed with how they have responded to my issue.

    Original: I researched many different home warranty companies before making a choice to go with Home Service Club. Customer reviews were a big part or my decision process and HSC seemed to have the best reviews...by far! I now know that should have been a red flag. I have NEVER had such a bad experience with a company. There is NO way that all of those positive reviews could be true. I could list all the calls, emails, lies and runarounds that I experienced just to get my water heater replaced but that would make for a VERY LONG review. They seem to go to great lengths to avoid paying for things that are clearly state that they cover. Including claiming that rust caused the problem even when their contractor stated that NO RUST was present. They never contacted the contractor or myself to let us know of the decision to deny my claim.

    It wasn't until I reached them after MANY calls to find out that they were not going to cover it due to FAKE rust. That was a Friday evening. They are closed weekends. I called several times on Monday before speaking with someone who told me that the denial was a mistake and they would cover it. I had already paid a plumber to install a new water heater being that we had been without hot water for over a week and they had told me that it was denied. Over a month and a half later and many more emails and phone calls for reimbursement, I was again told that due to a hole from rust or other damage, they would not reimburse me. Funny thing..THERE WAS NO HOLE OR RUST!!! This company will waste your money and time! DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEIR REVIEWS! NOT WORTH IT!!

    Updated on 02/15/2020: After waiting a week and paying a tech $125 who did nothing, they tell me that they will not repair my a/c due to "electrical failure or surge" (what??? If there was some electrical problem, with all the electronics in my house, computers, etc., wouldn't it be noticed? There was no electrical problem!). This company is a scam. I have reported it to federal, state and local authorities and I hope something is done to stop them. If you want to also report them for your losses, contact the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, and your state and local consumer protection websites and Attorney General. I am a senior citizen and the state of Florida seems to want to provide assistance.

    Original Review: It is now 1 week that I am waiting for the a/c to be repaired. One week in Florida. They say they will return a call. They do not. They say they will send an email. They do not. Nothing that they say is true. If you call, they do not answer. If you use an extension, it goes to voice mail. And they do not call back. A man came to look at the a/c, took $125 and left. He said they must approve the repair. No response from them. Did I mention that it is now 1 week? This company is totally negligent.

    After my initial review and letter to HSC I was finally contacted and within a few hours had a technician scheduled. The technician was able to resolve my issue although there was a small bit of contention on the approval process. However in the end everything had been approved and I have since been assured that this type of delay will not happen again. All things considered I will be sticking around and giving HSC another chance.

    I am absolutely discouraged with the support from this company. The Home Service Club Warranty Customer service is absolutely disgraceful. I have worked in Customer Service for over 30 years at all levels and I would be completely embarrassed if this was the service being provided. I truly do not understand how this company could possibly have this high of rating (generally 4.5 Stars). So far here is what I have gone through, and still going since my issue has not been resolved.

    January 24th, I submitted a service request online. I received no response, no confirmation, no communication at all. January 31st, I call customer support and was informed that the request was mis-categorized and had to be closed and a new one opened. We opened a new Service Request and I was informed I would be contacted once a technician was assigned. February 7th, I call Customer support and was informed that their entire system was down and they would call me back, again no response. February 9th, I sent an email requesting update. February 10th, while on hold with their customer service number I finally receive a call back. This time I was informed a technician was assigned on January 29th and that I had to call them.

    February 11th, I contacted the Company that I was given and had an interesting conversation with the owner. First that company does not service my area. He did recall an email but received no follow-up call informing him of a request. This I was told was the standard practice. I was also told that he rarely works with HSC. If you look at the timeline it is obvious that the assignment on the 31st was for the cancelled request.

    So here are my questions: Why would you contact a technician that did not even service my area? Why was I told that this technician was assigned when the request associated with it was closed? Why did the Customer Service Representative give me incorrect information? How did they not know what the status of my Active Service Request was? Why was kept being told I would be contacted and end the end I have to do all of the calls, reaching out to not only HSC but the technician as well? Most aggressively when I asked if this is the timeline I could expect if this was an emergency like a failed water heater or Air conditioner during a heat wave, I was informed that HSC is not an emergency services company. I have also asked to have a supervisor call me but I suspect that will never happen either.

I had just changed to this home warranty, thinking that it would be better than the previous one, they said they would replace the appliance like for like and feature for feature, regardless of the age of the appliance, but when it came time to fulfill a claim they say they offer the cash value of the appliance, which in this case they estimated at $50. I have requested cancellation of the policy and refund of money, don't even bother getting this warranty.

    I had a washing machine that had issues, they send a provider who did a great job assessing the situation and promptly arrived. He corresponded with HSC about the parts needed to service the washing machine and they called back saying that the parts cost too much to repair based on the age of the washer and were offering me $250 to put towards a new washer. Throughout this process HSC has you waiting for over 30 minutes to speak to someone or the call drops when they try to pick up the call. They always say someone will call you back and that doesn't happen for days and then they only leave a message on your home phone number instead of your cell so you can't return the call the same day because it is too late once you get home from work. This went on for a few weeks.

    They said they have to order the washer from Lowe's and I gave them a model number of the one I wanted and my Lowe's credit card number so it could pick up the balance. They said the order would be put in that day because Lowe's had a sale that was ending. I kept calling to follow-up and they said they would call me back. 2 days later I finally got someone on the phone after 25 minutes on hold who said that they left a message saying that they couldn't use a Lowe's credit card. So now, I lost the washer that was on sale. They will not cut me a check or a Lowe's gift card but said they can give me $250 credit to my account. I said that I am cancelling my contract and don't need a credit.

    Due to constant frustration, I finally just bought my own Washer at Lowe's. I paid around $600 a year for the contract and $125 to the service contractor who came to the house. I could have purchased my washer on my own with that money and not struggle to get my laundry done for weeks. The Customer Service is the worst. I did speak to one agent who tried to help me but never followed up after promising to look into things and never called me back. I just cancelled my contract (or so I think so) with them on the phone. Save your money and just pay for a contract for the appliance you purchase at that location.

    Called to file a claim and told they needed my home inspection even though the website says it isn't required and they didn't care 6 months ago when they took almost $500 for the warranty. Since I have been told the installed microwave isn't covered, then isn't worth the repair, the salesman misspoke when he stated they repair or replace. It is literally on the website. I was then told I can pick another microwave and they will give me $75 towards the cost. Then they stated they called the manufacturer and it is covered under that warranty. The manufacturer was immediately called and we were told it isn't covered. Then they stated noise isn't covered even though they were told it is sparking. The part isn't covered as they are basically an extended manufacturer warranty.

    Today I was told the out of the box value of my microwave is $0 and I am lucky they are explaining that I am not covered as most companies would just deny the claim. FYI, the microwave is from 2018 and costs over $350. It sounds like everyone just talks to Sophia, Gabrielle, Mike, and Gavin while getting the run around as it has been 4 weeks. I read reviews before going with this company and now feel stupid. FYI, I have read that they have requested people change their reviews to be favorable before settling claims.

    I had one bad experience with Home Service Club when the guy who came to my house had a water heater on his truck, but couldn't put it in because HSC had to order all the parts. So, it was like a four-day wait period which was annoying because I was out of hot water that long. Other than that, the rest of them did pretty well. Their reps have all been great. Their technicians got here on time and tried to make sure when they left that it was up and operating.

He checked and noticed that the motor needed to be changed. He explained it to me and he was very knowledgeable about what he needed to do.     My refrigerator broke back in Nov 2019, I called to have a tech come and look at it, no response from customer service, they kept saying they would schedule someone to come out meanwhile all my food is going bad etc. Long story after 10 days a tech finally came out and said it was not fixable and advised to buy a new one. He said he was sending them his report & gave me a copy also. I had to buy a new fridge, sent them my receipt etc & they still did not respond.

    I have been calling constantly & always get the run around. Customer service dept won't help, they refer you to another dept who never call you back. It's been over 2 months, & now they claim I was supposed to wait to hear from them, how long was I supposed to go without a working refrigerator! Now they want to only give me credit for a future problem! Please don't get sucked in to their FAKE good reviews. I don't think they even have a real office in NY, fake address, customer service reps are all over the country probably working from home.

    Updated 03/05/2020: I am writing this as a follow up to my previous review. As other reviewers mentioned, this company goes to great extents to deny legitimate service requests. After my legitimate service request is denied, I decided to cancel the contract and asked them to refund prorated amount. It's been almost 2 months and still didn't get any refund. Now they are asking me to delete the negative reviews I posted online, if not my refund amount will be significantly lower. They are trying to extort me to delete negative reviews. I told them my reviews are legitimate and it will help future customers. People in California, please file a complaint with California insurance commissioner's office regarding this scam company.

    Original review: I signed up for home warranty service with Home Service Club. Recently (2 weeks back) I filed a service request. The contractor they assigned is horrible, he came home and said he don't know how to fix this and left. After that I called home service club several times, never got connected to customer service, so each time left vocie mail. Till now no one called me back and no update on my service claim. I am still waiting for the service to be completed. I made a bad choice choosing this company. I am going to cancel my contract with them (even if it costs me money) and will sign up with some other company. I am sharing this bad experience so would be buyers will avoid this trouble, don't choose this company.

    This is by far the worst company I have to deal with ever and I am the owner/RE Broker and property management for over 100 SFR. I purchased 2 policies for my 2 rental property with this company. The salesman told me one thing and when I reviewed their home warranty contract/policies they are nothing near what they told me so I called and cancel the next day. This was in Oct 2019 and it took them 4 months until today to return my $ credit. I made too many calls to ask them to cancel my policies and every time their rep/s said it's already done that but nothing ever happened. I have to file a complaint with the department of Insurance case ** and also filed a dispute with my credit card before they finally return my $.

    What a company? I don't know about all these 5 stars customers on this website gave their review but from my experience, all these home warranty co. and other companies in the warranty businesses for that matter, they are all in a business to try to deny you everything first and you almost have to fight with them before they cover you. The contract language they hire the lawyer/s to write in such a way that they almost certain to deny your claim if they decide to do so. You are at their mercy most of the time. I decided this year that I will not purchase any more home warranty contract with any company and instead set up a savings account/fund to cover it myself because I think it's NOT worth my/your time and $. Be careful, I know sometimes people has no choice but if you can I think it's best to stay away from this business period.

They had somebody call me back within a day or two to set up an appointment, and then the contractor came over. He figured out a sensor went bad and he replaced it. It was fixed on the spot, which was pretty good. The contractor that I got were excellent, I commend them for the quality of service.

    Based on the reviews I saw here I changed my warranty company. It has been a nightmare. First service request I filed I didn’t hear back from the technician and after two weeks I was told to pick my own technician because they couldn’t get a hold of their guys. I was so disappointed I told them to cancel my service. Because this was done within the first month I was eligible for a full refund. It’s has been 2 MONTHS and I still haven’t seen my refund.

    Getting a customer service rep on the phone is very painful. Hold time is 30 min on average. If you request a call back it can be the next day when you actually get a call from them. Multiple times the call back I received got disconnected before the rep came on the line. Hopefully leaving a review here will help my case. Even if it doesn’t I would request people looking for a new company to not pick this one. Wish I had stayed with Fidelity.

    Their website barely works as several pages get 404s or web application errors. There are 2 login pages. One works while the other does not. When I call them directly, I'm put on hold for 15-20 minutes only to have the call hang up on me. I've left messages directly for the customer service manager but never get a returned call.

    Historically they've been a slow responder - i.e., this warranty is not good for immediate emergencies. You need to have an authorization code for the visiting tech otherwise you'll never get reimbursed (despite them saying so). Lately, the service has gone way down to basically non-responsive. I question whether they will be in business anymore. It hasn't been worth the trouble so we end up paying for our services directly. Why bother with this warranty. Stay away.

    This company is a scam and their reviews are as well. I purchased the most fully covered and expensive warranty 6 months ago and have not needed it until now. My oven runs but doesn't heat up and makes a noise. When I filed the claim online I put down that the oven works but makes a loud noise. The fan is not working well basically and the oven doesn't heat up properly. I waited 4 days until I finally got a call from the representative to tell me my claim was not covered since they don't cover loud noises.

    After a long debate I finally explained that the noise was a result of the oven not working. However, if an appliance makes a loud noise IT SHOULD BE FIXED!!!! That means it's about to break down further or worse. The repair person has still not come to my house! This is a shill company who does nothing when you need them! Please save your money on this company! I honestly can not stress enough, their reviews are false. This company is a scam. They are a name only and do not actually provide a service.

Anyway, my fuse box exploded last week after a thunderstorm. We had no electricity for around 4 hours already. I was so desperate that I had to call HSC with my mobile phone, good thing they attended to me swiftly. A tech was at our property in 2 hours and re-wired our fuse system and replaced it with a new box. Light were back on before 7pm. Good service! Tech was good looking and professional. Such a great experience!

    This is first time we have ever tried to use a home warranty for an issue we have with a covered item which is a pool pump. We tried to have some questions answered before making the claim, but could never get through. To purchase, they answer promptly, but for customer service, you are on placed in a call queue that no one answers and it eventually hangs up. We made the claim online and still took over a week for someone to finally show up. After that, we were sent an email stating that a copy of the Home Inspection was required before they can do anything. I replied to the email they sent and their server rejected it because the Adobe file was too big. I finally was able to send it to someone who offered to use their personal gmail account.

    Once a rep showed up, it took over 3 weeks to get any type of answer back. Finally, it was determined that they could not cover it due to the Home Inspection report which was regarding a separate pump to the hot tub that was dripping water. It had been fixed before the purchase. I decided to cancel anyway because in the coverage section of the policy, they have co-pays and limits to what they pay which really amounted to little benefit, even if they do decide to cover a claim. TERRIBLE SERVICE & TERRIBLE PRODUCT.

    Given all the positive reviews, I was so optimistic about Home Service Club. I bought two warranties in summer 2019: one for our current house and one for a new house we were in the process of renovating. Neither has gone well, and I’m extremely disappointed with the lack of organization and complete inability to respond in a timely manner. Summary of my experience:

    - Every time I submit a request for service it takes at least a couple days (often much more) to get a response. And even after HSC notifies me of my service provider, then it takes another several days for the provider to schedule service. This is a huge problem when your a/c quits in the Texas summer and your family of 5 has to live in a 90 degree house for a week.

    - I have anxiety just thinking about having to call HSC for anything. I sit on hold for at least 15 minutes every call, and 90% of the time end up having to leave a voicemail that never gets returned anyway. (The “press 5 to receive a call back” option is a complete joke - I’ve pressed 5 about 20 times and have yet to receive a call back regarding any of them.) So then I call back the next day, and the next... adding up to literally hours of my life these past months spent on hold with HSC.

    - I placed a service request 8 days ago for electrical work (light fixture quit despite new bulbs). Never received a call with an assigned service provider. Three days after submitting request, sat on hold with HSC then left a voicemail asking for an update. The next day got a call back and was given provider contact info. Called provider immediately and was told they have never heard of HSC, they do not work with home warranties, and they cannot help me. Immediately called HSC back. Sat on hold. Left voicemail. Repeated the next day, and the next. Still no call back from HSC.

    - I submitted a separate request 7 days ago for a/c issues. Received a call two days later assigning me to a service provider. Have called that service provider three times since and left messages to schedule service but still have not heard back.

    - To top it all off, when I purchased the 5 year warranty on my new house, HSC mistakenly opened two contracts at the same address and charged me $1800 TWICE. It literally took me 5 months of calls, voicemails, and frustration to finally get the refund in December.

    I’m ready to give up and ask to terminate the contracts early. Although I’m sure that would require someone calling me back so guess I won’t hold my breath. Save your effort and money and go elsewhere for a home warranty.

    This company is outrageous! Not only do they find reasons to deny your claims, no matter what they are after waiting weeks to hear from them.     My water heater has been malfunctioning for a while now, it kept turning off. I informed Home Service about the issue but it wasn’t easy getting hold of someone to talk to. The tech they assigned the job to, contacted me and said he could come out the next day but due to my working schedule they came the next week. When they came out, they couldn't fix the problem right then and there because they would need to order a part to fix it, so that's what they did. They ordered it, and it came back a week later, and the contractor came back and put it in. Since I paid the $95 deductible the first time he came, I didn’t have to pay another.

    The claims representatives were friendly, they're real people. I recommend Home Service Club to everybody because they're probably one of the best companies that I've ever had to deal with. My ceiling fan needed to be adjust as I installed it pretty low. Had no time to fix it so I had to call in for an assist from HSC.     Home Service Club has sent a contractor to repair our heat pump twice this year. The first contractor did a minor repair but the unit broke down again within a month. It was the second contractor they sent that fixed it properly and for several months now no issue. And for each visit I paid the $95 service fee. Home Service club were very responsive during my predicament but I advice they weed out some contractors that do shady jobs.

    I heard about Home Service Club when I purchased my property. The realtor hinted about them as possible home protection. I didn't really have any information about them but decided to get them. I had a problem with my water heater two weeks ago. I noticed that the water temperature was erratic and it didn't seem to be working properly. I called and they sent a plumber out the following day. He diagnosed it and fixed it within an hour or two. The only hang-up was him calling Home Service club to get approval. It didn't take too long, and he replaced it. Overall the experience was good.

    My Clothes washer is malfunctioning and I placed a service request online. They didn't contact me and I have to call them regarding my service request. Whenever I call nobody picks up the phone and they call back after 1 day. The technician came and said parts need to be replaced and again I have to wait 4 days for Home Service Club to review the claim. Finally they said they don't cover the parts. What is the point of having the home warranty? When I sign up they clearly told me that if they can't repair the then they will replace the product. It's all lie and they will deny the claim.     We have diligently paid this company for 3 years and the first claim we make, we cannot reach anyone for a week and had to call and sit on hold for upwards of 20-30 minutes each call to finally reach someone. Most of the time, they do not answer and you receive an automated voicemail saying to please call back and that no one is available at this time. When you finally reach someone, they are rude, unapologetic, and just blame the previous rep for the mistakes on your work order.

    We never had our claim resolved & gave up after a week. We ended up paying a local company to fix our problem and I have been trying to cancel this warranty ever since. I'm going on 3 weeks of leaving several messages, speaking to several representatives and have yet to receive a call from the manager to cancel. This company is a scam and they just take your monthly payment, never provide a solution to your claims, and will NOT cancel your warranty and continue to bill you. Go elsewhere!

    This is clearly a scam. Apparently, just a fraudulent sales front with no actual operations or service function behind it. About nine months into my contract, I needed to file a claim. Mission impossible. The claims reporting process, whether by phone or by the website, is nothing but a black hole. No response, no call back, no email reply, EVER. The only human beings who will ever answer the phone are sales people who are ready to take your money, but will hang up on you if you mention you’re a customer looking for service! I’m filing a complaint with the office of the NY attorney general, but I doubt I’ll ever see a penny’s worth of value out this “contract.” Steer clear of these fraudsters.

    I recently filed a claim over the phone to get my sink fixed and their wait time was about 10 minutes. The Plumber showed up the next day and fixed it. I also had an issue in one of my upper bathrooms and another plumber came out for that and did a thorough work too, I’m pleased with the work they’ve done on both occasions. A lot of people don't believe in having this kind of policy but it has worked for me. Hopefully the plan covers everything it says it's going to and if I have a major claim, they'll back it up.

    This company should go out of business. I submitted a claim on November 14 for an indoor electrical outlet that stopped working. The outlet shows as an open hot so it's a potential fire hazard. I called them on Nov 20 they said that all their contracted electrician are too filled up to be able to schedule me and will contact when they are Available. Most likely they don't have any electrician who want to work with them. Dec 9 they called said to call them back. I talked to them Dec 11, they now trying to claim they will not cover electrical of my house because my outside metal electric box cover has rust as indicated on my home inspection report. This is so laughable as my claim is unrelated. My policy does not cover things on the external part of my house and an external metal box is not the same thing as electrical lines on the interior of my house.

    It's easier to say your claim is not covered when they have no contractors who want to work with them. I called them on their shenanigans and they put me on hold for 20 mins plus then hung up on me. Every time you call you have to sit on hold forever, sometimes they let you leave a message other times they just hang up on you. This company should go out of business.

    Please read. My husband and I do standby our original review. The customer service representatives were rude to us, however, once we were able to get a hold of a supervisor, Sophia, she helped us resolved the issue. Unfortunately, though it took a lot of extreme measure to be able to get in contact with a supervisor. Once we were in contact with Sophia she alone was specifically helpful and extremely nice to us- she even provided us her direct number to contact her with which we greatly appreciate. We still find it extremely frustrating that it took multiple phone calls, rude customer service, and a bad review to get to this point. We are only resolving this review because Sophia was helpful and we appreciate her but if we could still give the company 1 star we would. This review is only for Sophia, therefore that is why we gave it a 5 star.

    My husband and I purchased our home in August of 2019 and were required to get a home service warranty with home service club. Our water heater went out in December of 2019. When we initially called the Home Service Club we explained our water heater is no longer working (water is draining out of the temperature relief valve, therefore there is pressure building up in our water heater and it is unsafe and needs to be fixed/replaced). They were respectful and apologized and stated that they will submit a claim as soon as we send over a home inspection report. Once we sent that over then someone would call us and tell us when the technician was coming out.

    Well, no one called, so we took action and called the Home Service Club back and they stated "your water heater will not be covered due to your home inspection report therefore we will not be a technician coming out." My husband and I explained that what our home inspection report says about the water heater (the straps around the heater weren't tight enough and we fixed this problem anyways) has nothing to do with what is currently occurring. The Home service club continued to refuse service to us. We have asked to be escalate to a manager, yet no manager has called us. The Home service club service center is unable to state verbatim anywhere in the terms and conditions that this is not covered. Both my husband and I read through the contract and there is nowhere that states our request is "automatically voided because of our home inspection report" (quoted verbatim from one of their service representatives).

    I have sent multiple emails to the Home Service Club and called the company multiple times and have yet to hear back or hear from a manager per my request. Not only were the customer service representatives extremely rude they were extremely unhelpful. We are now about to go on day 4 without hot water and are extremely frustrated at the point of this service. They won't even send out a representative to even take a look at what is going on. If I could give this company 0 stars I would. They are horrible and I do not recommend using them.

    There was a miscommunication but I was happy with the results in the end. I had a leaking pipe in my ceiling so I called that Thursday and told Home Service Club basically what my problem was. A company called and promised to come out that day but never showed up and never called again. The next day I called Home Service Club and said, “Hey, I never heard again from the contractor that promised to come out yesterday". So HSC sent someone else out on Friday from a local company and they were great. He saw what was wrong, that the pipe wore out and he told me what to do and then Monday he’d be back. That stopped the damage so I was happy with that. Monday he came back and fixed it. Good Service!

    I filed a claim for an old double oven that sometimes turned on sometimes did not. At the time the warranty was purchased the oven worked. I filed a claim on 10/14/2019. A technician came out and I followed up various times after and was advised the diagnosis had not yet been reviewed. Finally on 12/09/2019 I called once again and was advised that they would give me a 100 dollar credit to select an oven from Lowes. 100 dollars!!! I can barely buy a microwave with that amount. They market one thing and once you are a member they offer you hardly anything.

    For fun and giggles I called their marketing team, spoke to Anthony and posed to be a homeowner shopping around for home warranties. I asked if I had an old appliance that was in working condition at the time the warranty is purchased and they no longer manufactured parts if they would replace the unit and provide me enough credit to cover the full cost of an oven, his response was yes. Lies!!! That is not what is happening now that I have this warranty. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Stay away from this warranty company.

    Home Service Club Warranty was given to us when we bought the house in August, and since it was free, we continued with them. It has worked out really well for us. We filed a claim twice now, and for both times, we called after hours and the technicians came out the next day.     Based on a good reviews I thought to give them a try since I am new homeowner. When I called for a purchase, the sales person was very pushy and wanted an answer right away. They said, if I hang up and think about the offer, they will not give me the same promotion stated on their website. I should have known by then that this company will give me trouble. Regardless, I signed up and requested service after their grace period. When the technician came in for my request, they always found something to not pay for the request. Even though they charged me their service fee each time.

    I was fed up and canceled the contract. I was assured to get my money back within 4 weeks. It has been more than 6 weeks and I still haven't seen a dime of my money. I have been calling every week and they give me a runaround. It is very frustrating since their customer service is so unhelpful, rude and unprofessional. Please find yourself a local handyman. It is less of a headache and you probably pay the same or even less! I work in customer service myself and this is by far the worse experience that I had.

    I looked at Home Service Club's plans, what benefits they had, and what was covered. I liked what I saw, gave them a try, and so far I've been very happy with them. I called them for my toilet and had a pleasant plumber come to my house. However, I also had a concern with the water heater, which makes two separate work orders and two different service fees. When the plumber was here, it took him about 10 minutes to fix the toilet. Why can't he do the water heater, too? It would have been nice if he fixed the heater as well so I wouldn’t have to pay another service fee.

    I had one technician about 2 weeks ago when our heater went out; I had no heat. I filed for claim online. I got a call from the people that had the contract. They told me that I would hear from his contractor that was gonna come out and service the equipment. We arranged the date for them to come out and work on the heater. It took two or three days because it’s on a weekend and I did not request it to be an emergency because I was the only one here and I really didn’t care if the heater was on or not that much. They came out and the fellow fixed the heater within a matter of an hour or so, and I’ve had no trouble with it. Overall, you know what your expense is going to be up front, and everything gets done the way they advertise it. That’s all I can ask for.

    Please do not go by the good reviews this Home Service Club has. They have cheated me by signing the contract for 5 years. I wanted to get the pest control done. I called for the service. It took 3 days for them to schedule the call with technician. They gave me the contact number of technician as technician never called me to set up an appointment. When I called technician, they mentioned that the HSC have not made his previous service payments so until the payment they can not provide any services. Then I called HSC again to let them know that this technician is not going to visit my home until he receives his previous payment. The customer service representative have no clue what is going on and every time you call it takes minimum 30 minutes to get someone on line to talk with you. Absolutely horrible customer service. Please Please Please stay away from this company.

    Okay, after a rough start with a customer service representative who was new to the company, my experience has done a complete 180 degree turn! My experience since then has been nothing buy positive, with very conscientious and well intentioned supervisors calling back to apologize, to make sure everything was adequately resolved, to give me direct lines of communication to the supervisors if needed, and more.     The cold water valve feeding my washing machine went bad. I Called Home Service Club and a knowledgeable and efficient operator took the information and notified a plumbing company. A technician came out the next day, assessed the problem and fixed the problem. I have to say that I am completely satisfied with this encounter with Home Service Club and their plumbing agent. This was a small problem and I hope if I have a larger more complicated problem the encounter will be the same.     After trying to get service for a failing dishwasher for over a week, including emails, requests for callbacks and conversations with service representatives I was told this morning that the dishwasher is too old for them to provide covered service and that its depreciated value is zero. What they will offer is a $50 credit towards the purchase of a new unit from Lowe's Home Improvement (which of course is no offer at all as Lowe's are a retail store.). Their warranties appear to be sold under false pretenses and I'll be looking to cancel the remaining term of my "warranty" and seek a refund although without much optimism.

The first tech that came to diagnose our dryer suggested a replacement but Home Service Club never agreed to that and as a result they had to look for another Technician. A week later they sent another technician who was able to fix our dryer. Still, the whole process of submitting a claim over the phone to them was great. Their coverage is a great deal and they cover almost everything.

    This is the MOST CORRUPT, ILLEGAL AND DESPICABLE company I have EVER dealt with. Before I start, I will say that the majority of positive reviews here are fake, phony, and shill! BEWARE, I mean BEWARE of this scam company. I purchased a warranty 3 months ago from someone named AARON ** who NEVER sent me my paperwork or receipt, the same as other reviewers have said. I had to hunt him down to get my receipt and confirmation of my home warranty which was an immediate red flag but I chalked it up to him being busy.

    Move on, not even 3 months later our heat goes out with a newborn at home and nobody is there after 5 pm to take calls after 5 pm EST so you are forced to try to submit a claim online. I won't even go into the details of how difficult it was to get a claim submitted online but I got the claim submitted, got confirmation of the claim and was told I'd get an email or call back "shortly". FOUR DAYS LATER, no call, no email, no NOTHING!

    I can write a book on how disgusting this company is but to make it concise, it took me nearly a week to get them to send THEIR COMPANY "I.M AIR CONDITIONING" out to our home and THEIR COMPANY THEY SENT said we need a new circuit board and heater ignition control. Total cost was just over $700 and my contract showed these were included, not EXCLUDED PARTS so I expected a quick fix. That is where it went from terrible to horrendous!

    HSC WARRANTY then sends my claim to someone named JAY ** AT EXTENSION ** who is an HVAC supervisor. After a week of hunting him down, leaving messages and getting no response, he finally calls me back and tells me he disagrees with the technician SCV warranty sent and that he is deeming my issue pre-existing and denying the claim!!! We used our heat for nearly 2 years without issue, including two consecutive months before the heat went out this year and HSC warranty sent out their own technician who deemed the issue not pre-existing and which I have written confirmation of! I also have written confirmation of the parts needed to get our heat working and which Jay ** declined illegally!

    If this isn't atrocious enough, this scumbag, Jay ** then says he will sell me an entirely new heating unit for 11 thousand dollars! I don't think I have ever written a negative review in my life but this is the worst company on the planet! HSC Warranty should be immediately investigated and shut down. I am contacting the attorney general and in the process of filing a law suit against this company. I have never filed a lawsuit in my life either, but this company should be immediately, and I mean immediately shut down. 2 weeks without heat with a newborn and negating their own technician for a measly $700 for warranted parts and service by their own contract!!!! And on top, to negate the claim from someone who has never seen my heating unit and deem it pre-existing when this Jay ** lives across country in another state!!!

    I am in contact with the attorney general, I am filing a lawsuit and I will make sure this company gets what is coming to them. If you read my review and continue to purchase a home warranty plan, you get what you fully deserve. Last but not least, Aaron ** the guy that sold me the warranty is a complete scumbag as well. He answered every single call while working out the details of the home warranty contract I was about to sign, but when I needed help, crickets, he was nowhere to be found, didn't return calls, had to be hunted down as well. Pathetic, disgusting company overall, and they need to be shut down immediately!

They were so helpful to sell a warranty plan, I didn't even have to wait to talk to someone.  Now I just sit on hold and then after about 20 minutes get sent to a voicemail. I submitted a service request over a week ago and still no call and no service. My last warranty company would call with 24 hours. I finally got a hold of someone at HSC Warranty on day 5 after taking multiple calls and waiting on hold and then they told me they were new and couldn't answer my question. They didn't even have a number to contact the claims department and couldn't provide my service request number. Just the date and time I submitted and said the claims department was working on my request. So here I am still waiting on my service request to fix my range. I begin to wonder if this company is even legitimate.

    I came across this company while researching warranties, I was in the process of buying a home and despite the results of the inspection report wanted additional peace of mind. I should have known this was a BIG MISTAKE to purchase from this company when I started experiencing issues with the sales rep. He took our payment over the phone and did not send us our proof of purchase, a certificate or receipt, nothing. I waited patiently for days and received no form of communication. I called him and e-mailed him several times with no response. I then called their customer service and spoke to someone who was cited as a case manager of some sorts. A few hours later "John" the sales rep called me back apologizing claiming to have sent the needed information via e-mail (lies). When I finally got it, it was not the comprehensive package I purchased. So that needed correction.

    Fast forward about 2 months later, we are now in our home and due to what I believe was a frozen pipe burst we have a flooding basement. I called to put in a claim. I was told someone would call me back. I got a call few hours later and spoke to a Megan who told me in order for her to put through my claim they will need my inspection report.

    I ask as to why it was needed as it was requested during my initial transaction (purchase). She told me it was to see if there were any "perks" I was qualified for. I asked her to further explain as I needed more clarification. I asked her whether or not water leaks was a part of my comprehensive plan and she replied yes but it refers to faucets and stuff like kitchen pipes etc. She then put me on hold as she wanted to make sure it was a plumber and not a hvac contractor that that would have to be dispatched (day 1). I didn't get any other feedback from her 24 hours later and so I called and left her a message.

    With no response 6 hours later I sent her an e-mail and still no response. I called their customer service number and I was told that they are still trying to contact a contractor and or process my claim. About an hour or so a supervisor called and said she too was making sure my claim was processed. I reiterate the need for them to quickly process my claim. 1. my basement was flooding, 2. my furnace would not work without water, 3. I have four kids and a senior citizen in my home. She claimed they were "working on it". A few hours the original CS agent calls me to confirm for the 4th time if it was a water leak I am experiencing.

    I informed her that I called her hours before and left a message on her voice mail. She replied when she is on a call she doesn't take other calls, I assume that must apply to messages as well to include e-mails. It's now over 48 hours with no solution in sight. Last night I had to purchase 5 heaters to keep myself and my family warm as their suggested solution to our problem is to make a claim with my home insurance company. So much for purchasing a warranty....

    I have 2 service claims in process right now. One is for my heater that has not been working and the claims process has taken over 2 weeks so far. Every time I try to call in to get an update on when I will be able to have heat in my house, I sit on hold for 20 minutes and then I get directed to an answering machine. I have also had a claim out for a broken dishwasher. They finally got back to me after a week and told me the best they can do to resolve my dishwasher issue was to give me a $75 credit to Lowe's. I was directed to go pick a dishwasher and call them back at a specific extension. I called the extension 10 minutes later and no answer. I have left messages and called it about 6 times in the past 24 hours with the same results. It feels like I am the only one trying to get my house fixed and it is extremely frustrating. I am blown away by the lack of customer care.

    If I could honestly rate 0 I would. This company is a scam and their reviews are as well. My husband and I purchased a house about 4 years ago, of those 4 years we have been a member with HSC for about 2 years. Of those 2 years we had to contact them twice. The first time it was plumbing issue with a leak in a garage. This was a pretty serious issue. We called them, initiated a claim, and didn't get a call back for about 4 days from the date the claim was submitted. Finally, we had a contractor call us, by then, my husband had contacted someone to help us.

    The second time, and most recent (10/31/19) our pressure reading on our furnace was over 30 PSI, my husband right away shut off the heat, and we called HSC at 9pm on 10/31/19, They were closed, no one to talk to, so we went online and initiated a claim. No call the next day, so I called them, was on hold for about 30 minutes waiting for someone to answer then to be sent to a voicemail because no one was available. I hung up, waited about 15 minutes, called again and the same thing happened, NO answer, then transferred to a voicemail to leave a message. So I did.

    3rd day, STILL NOT A CALL BACK. Called again, and AGAIN no answer in their customer service department. I then tried the sales department, someone finally answered, I told them my concern and he said I can't help you with this, I have to transfer you to customer service. Hoping that because he transferred me, someone would answer..WRONG. Same thing, no answer and sent to a voicemail to leave a message. My husband and I at this point are furious. We had to call a plumbing company ourselves to come out because of the seriousness of the matter. We coudn't turn our heat on because of the pressure. 4th day, I called again, at this point, to cancel my contract with them and cx the claim because we already once again took care of the issue ourselves. Still NO ANSWER.

    Absolutely ridiculous! And we are calling during operational hours. I left another message and this time a very unpleasant message one to get a call back, because we want to cx. SURE ENOUGH, my husband gets not one but 2 calls today 11/5/19 from them. Unbelievable!! We wasted money for 2 years with a company who does nothing when you need them! Please save your money on this company! I honestly can not stress enough, their reviews are false. This company is a scam.

    If it was possible to give zero stars I would. My AC broke during the hottest weekend of the year- I tried calling in but HSC is closed on the weekends. I chose to go outside of network in order to have the issue addressed immediately, as it was almost 100 degrees INSIDE. I felt that it was reasonable to get emergency work done and request assistance after.

    2 months, 3 points of contact and 7 emails later I am told that there is no consideration for emergency services done outside of the policy. I was also given the argument that even though they are closed on the weekend, the website is always accessible - however their technicians are all closed on the weekend as well. None of this is very helpful during an emergency situation. Despite being told by Client Services that I could submit my invoices for review, there is in fact no consideration of circumstances or review being performed. Also, if your seller addresses any inspection notes in a way that does not meet HSC's liking they'll throw that in as an excuse as well. Honestly shocked at how good the reviews are for these guys and the experience I've had.

    It was the first claim I’ve ever had. It was handled very well and I was happy with that. Submitting the claim was extremely simple. I called in, they took the information, they had a service guy out here the next day and within two days the furnace was in. After the technicians left, I had to call them back because the furnace wasn’t coming on. So, they sent someone out. There’s a switch on the back of the furnace that needs to be turned on and they turned the furnace off. It was a gas furnace and I didn't want to mess with anything. So, that was a little upsetting but everything is good now.

Another technician was sent, he said he’ll fix it, but not, then they sent a third one and he confirmed that the condenser unit required a replacement. He changed it and it's working. He came in the evening which was the most suitable time for me and determined the motor was faulty. He had the parts ordered within two days then he came right out and he fixed it.     Our water heater leaked out and ruined our rooms. I filed a claim the next day and about three days later the contractor came out and took over. They set up their fans and they had to come back, so it took a few more days. They did a great job and made my life a lot easier.

    Our microwave wouldn’t come on sometimes, and when it eventually comes up we would get an error message on it. We filed a claim and when their technician came out, he figured out that the control panel was bad and recommended a replacement. And then, we got a new unit 2 weeks later.

    Their Rep was very nice and accommodating. I filed a claim because I had a flood damage due to my water heater. I got a call from the contractor the next day that he’s coming out within 12-3pm. He came right on time and had to go into the walls. Just within an hour he was through with the work and everything is back to normal.

    The water dispenser on my fridge was not working. Their service man came out in about a week and was very fast to solve the problem. He just replaced the filter and the dispenser was working again. This was my first claim and I was pleased.

    Neither unit in our double wall oven would work because the locking mechanism in the top oven was broken. The first two contractors tried replacing parts, but the codes kept reading that it was the lock. Our barely used appliance was about to be scrapped until they called in the third contractor. He is an Old School repairman who in a short amount of time was able to repair our unit! We are very appreciative of Home Service Club for their efforts.

    My experience with Home Service Club has been great so far. I’ve been with the company for a while. I just had my dryer repaired. I called them on Monday and they wanted to schedule my appt for Tuesday the next day but I couldn’t get off from work. I decided to schedule it for Thursday. They came out on Thursday as scheduled and before they left my dryer was working again.

    Our Ice maker stopped working and we requested a service for it. The appt was set within 48 hours and the technician that came out was polite and kept us informed. He did an initial test, determined the issue, replaced the defective part, tested the ice maker, cleaned up after and left. He finished within an hour. Outstanding service!

    Just this year alone I’ve used them thrice. First, My washing machine pump sprung a leak, they dispatched a service tech who identified the problem quickly. There was a slight delay in receiving the parts but one cannot expect the tech to carry all parts for all machines. Water line to fridge sprung a leak. Again a tech was dispatched 2 days later, he found the leak and ordered replacement parts. Slight delay in parts receipt but no problem. Recently, Double oven igniter failed. Same quick, professional and efficient response. All claims addressed and extremely satisfied with service and repairs.

    Of all the claims I filed, there were no trace of any delays. I have no issues with them. They also have a wide coverage and wide selection of contractors which means all my appliances are covered in expert care. I don’t have to worry about anything.     I feel very satisfied and pleased working with Home Service Club. Their personnel are always available to process my claims as quick as possible. Home Service Club always made me a happy customer of them. Last month, my refrigerator was not producing ice even though I just bought it last Labor Day. Called HSC and had them inspect my unit if I was eligible for a replacement. In less than a week, they were able to assist me and today, I got a new unit delivered to my house. My heater was showing some sort of defect the past few days, and I just had to contact them because I'm afraid it may explode while I am not on my home. Called HSC at around 9am on Tuesday and confirmed an appointment. 8am Wednesday, tech was at my door as agreed and took a look at my heater. He finished his job at around 9:30am, turns out that the unit just needs some cleaning. Since he finished on-time, I was able to attend my yoga class that morning. Such a professional company with top-notch workers. KUDOS guys!

    I would not recommend this company. Everything the sales team tell you are lies. I stayed on the phone with the sales representative for an hour. I asked him every question about the coverage you can imagine. They said no if ands or buts. Washing machines, fridges, dryers, electric, plumbing, etc are covered in full. They will give you the full value of the unit, I would have to pay $100 fee to the technician and they will fix or give you the money for a new unit. I paid the monthly premium for 4 years. My washer started acting funny and didn't work properly. They sent their own tech out from their company. He didnt even touch it. Just looked at it for 2 minutes and said it's probably the ball bearing. Asked for his fee. And told the office this is wrong with it after 2 minutes of just staring at it.

    After 2 weeks I called the company and said what's going on with my warranty. They said sorry. If you read your contract the pieces that THEIR TECHNICIAN!!! Said was broken was not covered, that since I paid about $3000 in monthly premiums for the past fee years they will offer me $200 toward a new washer from Lowe's only. Meanwhile the washers in Lowe's are about 900 dollars for a front loader like I had. This company is a scam. Beware before signing up with them.

    I never had a problem with submitting a claim with Home Service Club. Their claims reps have always been very good. My home has three air conditioners and my plan covers each of them. This year, they have worked on two of the air conditioners, they always come out on time and did a good job, Never had any issue since then.

    Our refrigerator died three days before having a house full of guests. My wife had just finished shopping and immediately hit panic mode. I made the call to Home Service Club, expecting a nightmare. The service rep was super friendly. She searched and found a contractor who could come out the next afternoon! What? I was not expecting that because of the experience I had with the previous warranty company I used. The service technician was friendly and knowledgeable. He said he had to order a control board or something like that. In the meantime, I dumped the contents of our fridge into coolers with ice. The contractor returned the next morning with the needed part and our fridge was repaired. I was impressed.

    Our washer was filled up with water and then stopped without rinsing, agitating or spinning. Upon Filing a claim, Home Service Club had a technician come over the next day. He showed up on time, assessed the problem and was able to resolve issue which required the replacement of the lid switch. Unfortunately he didn’t have the switch that day but came back the following day to fix it. It was my first experience with them and it was great.

Sales guys are only interested in making the sale, they are the only ones who answer the phone but not able to help after.     I am writing this review to inform others of the HORRIBLE service this company offers. My claim was filed on Monday, October 14th, 2019 after discovering my refrigerator has stopped working the night before. I filed the claim online as well as called in when your company opened at 9am; I was on hold for 13 minutes before anyone answered my call. I was contacted later that afternoon with the name and telephone number of a repair company (C&E Appliance). I was told I needed to call them to schedule the technician to come out and assess the repair in which I had to pay $75. I called the company and scheduled the technician to come out on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. The technician was late, however, he did show up, assessed the problem as the control board, the cost of the part $359.00. The technician said he would “call it in” to HSC by Wednesday morning to get permission to make the repair.

    By Wednesday afternoon, I had not heard from anyone regarding my repairs. Keep in mind, I have lost $100s worth of food due to spoiling by now, and I have no way to keep any food at my home that requires refrigeration. I placed my first call around 2pm Wednesday (October 16th) afternoon to check the status of my claim. I was on hold for over 17 minutes before the line sent me to a voicemail. I called back and selected the option for an automated callback. No one ever called me back. I attempted to call again and sat on hold for another 15 minutes, still no assistance. I called back that evening and left a VM expressing my complete dissatisfaction with no one answering the phones or calling me back for an entire day. My first complaint; is it is truly unacceptable for your phones to never get answered, hold times to exceed 15 minutes and your automated callback application does not work at all.

    I called back Thursday, October 17th morning at 9am. Spoke with a real person only to find out they had not received any information from the technician at C&E Appliance. I hung up and called C&E appliance and spoke with the office manager Lisa, who told me she spoke with HSC on Wednesday and they had everything they needed to determine the repairs. This back and forth finger pointing game went on for 2 full days. I heard different stories from both HSC and C&E Appliance, both parties blaming the other, again completely unacceptable and unprofessional. It is now Friday afternoon October 18th and I have no information on if my refrigerator will get fixed, no scheduled repairs made.

    I called, Monday, October 20th, again at 9am since that is the only time your company bothers to answer the phones and spoke with a gentleman (Anthony) who told me again “no updates”. I explained the back and forth pettiness I had been receiving and asked for them to cancel the repair and just provide money towards a new refrigerator. At this point, I could not wait any longer. He said that was not an option. I expressed how unhappy I was with C&E Appliance and he claimed it was “not his problem” what technician came to my house. I asked for a supervisor. He claimed to have opened a ticket to have one call me back. No one ever called me back.

    I called back and went through the sales line. Spoke with a lady named Gabrielle. I asked her what the best avenue was to file a formal complaint. She provided me this email. I also told her to remove my contract from auto-renew. We disconnected then she called me back within a few minutes and told me based on my open claim the notes stated that the repair was not approved due to the age of the refrigerator and they would offer $150 towards a new refrigerator. She stated this information was put into the system on Friday, October 18th. NO ONE bothered to tell me this; including the gentleman, I had JUST SPOKE to at 9am. Your company is poorly run and the customer service is appalling. You 100% lost the business of a customer due to this claim. It has been 2 weeks since I filed my claim and no one has called me with any information.

I had a nasty sound coming from the circulator in the attic and it was fully insured for the repair and replacement. It took almost two weeks for them to approve and complete the job.     This warranty gives my family peace of mind. Our AC went out in the middle of the Summer. They were able to dispatch a company within few days and it only took the company an hour to fix our Air conditioner. That in and of itself paid for the warranty in my opinion.     For now, I have been pleased with the service provided. I have had plumbing issues and the two separate claims worked out well. I was assigned different contractors for each claim and both went OK with resolution of all issues. I also used the re-key service and while the tech was a very pleasant person I was left with one door that would not work after the service. I figured it was due to the age of the house. You could lock and unlock the door, just not open it from the outside. Since I was left with three nicely rekeyed doors I had no complaints.

    I have been with them for two years and have had several successful claims. I’ve only had just one poor service and it was from the contractors' end. When we needed a heating repair, the guy told us to put up the temperature gauge. He spent three minutes here before running. Obviously that wasn't the problem. Home Service replaced the contractor after I complained and the second contractor did a perfect work. Every other time has been wonderful.

    My kitchen cabinet has a garbage disposal that grinds up all my garbage so I can dispose of it easier and to keep away flies and pests. It went dead and I need a repair because I am a home cook for four and we produce lots of garbage. I had a good experience with the replacement, I had a one week wait and it was not too shabby.
