Very expensive GE Profile dual fuel stove and fridge were purchased new in 2006. Since the very beginning, it has been nothing but problems. Beware - do yourself a huge favor and avoid purchasing GE appliances at all costs. They are unreliable, and parts fail repeatedly.

I have had a faulty gasket replaced 3 times (by a factory authorized appliance repair provider) on my GE Monogram all-refrigerator ZIR36NMDRH. None of the gaskets have formed correctly to maintain a tight, suctioned-seal causing the condensing unit to continually freeze. The replacement gaskets are not of the same quality as the original and come warped and wrinkled. The repairmen have tried steaming them and taping them in place and still they don't work (and look terrible). Why such shoddy replacement parts? I haven't even discussed with the repair company who is paying for all the return visits and products (I'm sure it will end up being me). I also was told I need to replace the evaporator motor. This machine is only 6 years old!
Additionally, I am very unhappy with the quality of the drawers. All of them have cracked/shattered and we are not careless people. Even the repairman commented on them and said they should have never cracked/shattered like that. I would never purchase another GE refrigerator or freezer, as this is not the first time I've had trouble with the machine. In the past, I've contacted GE Customer Service only to have them blame me for the problem (which after doing some research I learned was a common complaint with the machine). So much for "Buy American."

The original 2007 GE Profile side-by-side unit I bought from Lowe's for $3,000 had one door 3mm higher than the other, so I had it replaced. This unit has had all sorts of problems: wildly fluctuating temps, a failed ice maker, puddles in front of the fridge. Finally, I called GE Service in June. For $360, he replaced the motherboard. He said the motherboards had been redesigned every single year since 2006! I turned off the fridge for Hurricane Isaac a few days ago. It started it up today and now it won't cool. I've had it with General Electric. What a ** company. I won't pay for another service call. Lesson learned: I will never buy another GE appliance ever. The rest of my kitchen appliances are Bosch, just as expensive as GE Profile, but high performance and trouble-free.

Three years and a half just after fully remodeling my house, I purchased a GE fridge, Model GFSS6KKXASS, a very nice looking French door fridge. After about three months, it stopped keeping the set temperature and then I noticed ice coming out of the openings in the back panel. The technician came over and ordered the main board which arrived a few days later and then he came back and changed it. To my surprise, the issue repeated about 6 months later and subsequently until this Tuesday, when the technician called the extended warranty company and told them that the piece of junk was not fixable. As a result, I am getting my money back from the company that I bought the service contract from.
Now, I am thanking God that I purchased the extended service contract for it; otherwise, I would have lost my $2,100.00 as well as the money from the repairs. Over the weekend, I need to go shop for a fridge and the worse feeling is that I do not know if I should give GE another chance. I am thinking of buying an LG but for some reason, I do not think that is a good brand. Please advise if anyone has any experience with LG. We all may have to switch to it now that GE is letting us down. This is an American company that we should not be proud of.

I purchased a brand new GE refrigerator (GSHL6KGZBCLS) from Home Depot in October of 2010 and had them install it. This weekend (8-25-12), I noticed that my drinks were very warm and checked the temp. It read the freezer was 28 and the fridge was 66. I started researching the problem online and found that cleaning dust from the back was listed as a troubleshooting step. I did this and waited 24 hours with no luck. It is still at the same temp. I also tried turning off the breaker to the fridge power, no luck still.
After reading this forum, I am worried if I should just junk the GE and buy a new fridge that is not GE instead of trying to have this one fixed. It's now Sunday so GE customer service is closed. I guess I will wait until tomorrow to call them and make my final decision. What a disappointment as I got rid of two working refrigerators that were smaller and one was 20+ years and never had a problem with them to replace them with one big refrigerator that broke down in less than 2 years. GE, I hope you will read this and find out what's going on with your product line.

Warning! Do not buy a GE Monogram refrigerator. I purchased in 2003 and it's been nothing but trouble. I've had 8 or 9 service calls since owning this piece of junk. Never mind the expense of taking days off work, the service calls are $89+ per trip. I've spent about $1700 in repairs/equipment. Never again. Oh yea, the ice flows require days to thaw before work can proceed. It's the same issue over and over again.

GE Profile French Door refrigerator was purchased in May 2007 from American Appliances. I bought into the whole marketing thing for GE Profiles when I needed new appliances, especially a refrigerator. I won't make this mistake again.
There were obvious issues with design fairly soon. The digital readout was cumbersome & poorly placed taking up way too much room. The freezer door never seemed to fit right & the freezer was hard to clean with the racks allowing all the stuff to fall through to the floor of the freezer which is inaccessible without removing everything. Additionally, after resetting the temps, it takes forever to achieve optimum cooling.
After a 2-week trip, we returned home to find that the fridge & freezer were close to 50 degrees. Everything in the freezer was thawed & everything had to be pitched. I called American for their GE tech & was told that they couldn't send anyone until late the following week (this was Thursday). When I objected, they gave me a Monday appointment, not good, but I had no other alternative. They did have a technical support person call who directed me to unplug the unit, plug it back in & reset the temps which would hopefully reboot the computer. I was told to wait 24 hours as this was a "slow cooler"(!) & would take time to get to optimum temps. By Friday, the internal temps were 80+ degrees! I started to worry about my refrigerator burning down the kitchen, so I unplugged it for the weekend.
On Monday, American called & said their GE tech was ill & I had to settle for a Wednesday appointment (which leaves us without a refrigerator now for 1 week). I spent my weekend doing internet research on GE & this refrigerator. The results were appalling. There were many recalls on their products, more complaints on their refrigerator products than I could begin to count (including a class action open-ended suit because GE failed to inform their customers of the intrinsic design, manufacturing flaws with this product).
The tech did come on Wednesday, said that it was the mother board (which I had already figured out). He finally came up with one - the last one in Peoria that he could find (not a good sign). He installed it in 5 minutes, said that everything checked out okay, charged me $152 for the part & informed me that we would be billed for labor. Additionally, he showed me the burn marks on the original mother board which didn't assure me about who I am dealing with. Twenty four hours later, the temps in the unit were now at 68 degrees. Admittedly, better than 80+, but not acceptable for a refrigerator/freezer. Maybe I should lower my standards, seems like everyone else has!
By now, I was trolling for GE numbers to call. Guess what? There is no phone # for customer complaints! I started with an email to "Contact us", which of course got no response. I finally started with a phone call to the very cheerily named department called "Answer Center". The electronic voice informed me that there was a 20 minute wait. Kelly called me back. She was pleasant & informed me that I needed "Customer Relations", of course an internal department not listed anywhere for customer convenience.
As an aside, she very efficiently noted that I should write down their number even though she was going to transfer me. No kidding! Of course, the transfer did not go through. I had to call twice before I finally got an electronic voice that told me that the wait for a human was 1 hour and 40 minutes! I left my number & Amira called me back several hours later. She didn't seem surprised by my complaint. Her offer was to overnight me a mother board, free of charge. Big deal. (this was on Thursday - beginning week two of no refrigerator).
I called the tech on his cell phone. He too said that he had scrounged around & found another mother board which was going to be overnighted to him. On Friday, neither one of us had received the mother board. On Monday, the part that GE sent arrived 4 days after the "overnight." I have called the tech 2x, with no answer. I'm now looking at Tuesday, one day short of two weeks without a refrigerator & continuing headaches. For all I know, the tech has headed for Mexico with my $152 & a sure thing job with GE down there.
FYI, for all of you out there buying appliances from GE, a supposedly great American company, you are dead wrong. I went around my GE Profile kitchen & discovered that the refrigerator was made in Mexico, the microwave (rusting out around the interior door) was made in Korea, the dishwasher with the racks that won't slide out & the cheap metal front, & the indiscernible way to get it to work if you push the wrong button was made in China. If you want to know why the American economy is in the tank & there are no jobs, GE Appliances is a prime example.
By the way, I refuse to spend almost $2,000 for a refrigerator that lasts barely 5 years. Frankly we, like most people out there, cannot afford to do that (this is like planned obsolescence) & in this economic environment, it's very painful. I'm realistic to know that if so far two mother boards are bad, there is no assurance that the next one will be any better. For economic reasons, I have to put up with this shameful behavior from what is considered to be a great American company.

I have had my GE Profile for less than two years and it is not cooling. The GE serviceman came to my house and looked at the fridge. After 2 minutes, he told me it was the motherboard. OK, so I paid to have that replaced. Tell me, why is the temp on my fridge going up and not down? My food is spoiling and GE repair department told me to wait for 48 hours to call them back. I paid that tech $372 to replace a motherboard that I feel was still working and I feel like it's the compressor. Because that is covered under the warranty, they didn't want to fix it. Well, I am calling my credit card company to stop payment on the transaction and let's see how fast GE gets this ** fixed! I will never buy another appliance from them ever!

I purchased my refrigerator from Lowe's with a 4-year extended warranty. I have taken very good care of the refrigerator, performing weekly cleaning/preventative maintenance. Despite the good care, I have started to see cracking on plastic parts within the fridge. To be specific, the produce trays started to have cracking on the plastic when there is no overloading and/or any type of abuse. The temperature gauge plastic is also getting cracks on the plastic. I called last Friday, 7-27-12, and first spoke with Lowe's, which then directed me to GE. I called and was directed from GE Parts to GE Consumer Relations. At GE Appliances Consumer Relations phone #1800-286-1215, I then spoke with agent name Lindsay. I concisely explained to Lindsay what the issue was with my fridge and gave her the model/serial number.
Instead of being direct with me, Lindsay placed me on hold several times unnecessarily wasting time! After spending over 40 minutes on the phone and expressing my unhappiness, I was told that I would have to pay for the parts I am requesting! First and foremost, I should not have this issue with an expensive refrigerator like the one I have in just a few years. Second, Lindsay should have not wasted my time and should have been direct with me from the get go. I was basically left on hold with the intended purpose and with the hope I would just hang up! This is not a way to deal with anyone, let alone a customer! When I asked Lindsay for her last name and/or agent number, she refused to provide this information and gave her supervisor's name on request to me. The supervisor's name I was given is Sharon. I'm very disappointed in the way this was handled!

I have a broken GE Profile refrigerator. It’s an expensive piece of junk. This GE refrigerator is not working properly. Techs were giving different recommendations to fix it - at my expense. But having read other complaints, I have the same problem lots of owners are having and I see that the only way to fix this problem is to trash a high-end appliance. My appliance is not a lemon - GE is just making really crappy appliances. I already had to replace a fan in my Profile double oven at 2 years, and now a fridge at 3 years is doing what looks like lots of people are also going through. I will never buy another GE appliance. I have had GE appliances for 30 years and when we built this house, I replaced all appliances with new GE appliances and have not been happy with them. I will definitely share this with anyone I know who are looking at appliances.

I purchased this GE Profile French door refrigerator (model # PFS22SBSBSS5) years ago and immediately one of the pull-out shelves broke due to the cheap plastic. I sat a gallon of milk on it and the plastic could not hold the weight. I had to replace the plastic part that covers the vegetable drawers for the same reason. The condiment holders in the doors break if you put anything large inside and it’s way too expensive to replace. I throw out vegetables all the time because I can't control the temperature and it just starts freezing food in the fridge. In less than 5 years, the whole unit quit working and I lost all of my food. I replaced the fan and another part with a cost of over $200.00. It worked one day, so I put food back in. Once again it quit working and once again I had to throw everything out. My husband went and bought a new board today to the tune of $150.00.
After reading the reviews, I would not have bought the new motherboard, but I found a reputable manufacturer and bought a new unit. I called GE to find out why contractors were informed that the board was recalled and not the public. They told me I would have to call the parts department and hung up on me. I called the parts department and they said I would have to call consumer relations on Monday during business hours. This company should be put out of business and not allowed to steal money out of consumers’ pockets. I am extremely angry that GE is allowed to continue manufacturing garbage and selling their garbage for $2500.00. To me that’s a lot of money for a throw-away refrigerator.

I purchased this refrigerator (GE Model PSDS5YGX8FSS) in July 2009 and it has been repaired three times (motherboard and temperature sensors) as the refrigerator/freezer does not maintain required temperature. I just had the worst experience with GE tech, "Jason," basically stating that I should have purchased an extended warranty plan to cover the poor performance or I had to pay for the full price of repair. The temperature sensors need to be replaced again. I used to be a loyal GE customer as I had purchased two refrigerators that had proven to be good products. GE should be concerned with the loss of another customer for life as they don't stand by their products and they now perform poorly. Their customer repair line is atrocious as I make appointments, follow up and the techs do not show up. They cancel appointments in lieu of receiving negative feedback. Their customer relations' phone line is a joke as you never are able to reach anyone, so GE techs know this and can afford to provide poor service. Be forewarned about GE products.

I purchased this GE Profile 22-cubic feet French-door refrigerator from Lowe's in 2007. In the first 6 months, a seal at the base of the freezer came loose, spilling yellow fluid. About 1 month ago, one of the plastic items at the top of the refrigerator door broke and fell off. Now this week, the motherboard for the refrigerator had to be replaced ($390)! I can't replace the broken piece without ordering a new door. I have owned GE Profile for years without any problem until now. I will never purchase this product again, and I think it's time to complain loudly. I am a senior citizen and live alone. In late 2007, I re-did my kitchen and replaced all my appliances with GE Profile appliances. There has been nothing but issues with all my appliances since then. The most troublesome has been the Profile French door refrigerator and dishwasher. Since 2009, about two times a year, a technician has come out to fix the freezer/fridge temperature issues. I had to place another call this week (someone was here in September 2011 for same problem). A GE tech was here today and replaced the compressor because he said a wire was loose and this should take care of the temperature issues.
Every time a tech comes out to repair the fridge, they replace a different part and tell me that this replacement part should take care of the issue. I've had the sensors replaced as well as the main board but it never fails that within 6-8 months after these new parts have been put in the temperature for both the freezer and refrigerator start to go up. Today, I was told by the technician that someone in my house must have set the freezer temperature control to -7 degrees. I told him no one touches the controls. As soon as the technician left, the refrigerator temperature went from 36 to 42 degrees. Let's see what happens. I can't keep anything in my freezer anymore because of the fear of everything defrosting. My frozen food is kept in a garage freezer.
From reading other complaints about the same issue with the GE refrigerators, it is obviously a problem. At what point does GE say we need to compensate these people for producing defective products? I paid over $2,200 for my refrigerator and it is definitely a lot of money to spend for a product that has not worked continuously over the last 3 years. There is no reason why it should keep failing. I have lost hundreds of dollars worth of frozen food due to increase in the freezer temperature.
My GE Profile dishwasher has been serviced many times too. It does not clean the dishes the way it should. If I didn't have the extended warranties on these products, I would be out hundreds of dollars in addition to the purchase price but all my warranties will expire in August. I refuse to pay any out-of-pocket costs. Hard and expensive learned: I would NEVER purchase another GE appliance again.

Russ, whom I had asked once again not to be sent to the house, called to say he was coming to install this part. I said, "No, you are not. I have asked for you not to come here.” Dispatch called again and told me that he was the only one. Once again Steve ended up coming to install the second part that was also not the problem. At this point, Steve tells me that it is the compressor. I said, "You told me the other day that it was not working, remember?" He apologized for his error and told me he would have to order one and would take care of the problem himself since he was to blame for this error.
When the parts came in, I called GE and guess what they did? They had Russ call me a few days later to say he was scheduled to come and fix my refrigerator. I asked him why they were trying to force him on me. At this point, I was so frustrated I was afraid for my health. Calling dispatch once again, I was met with this same rude woman informing me that it would be after the holiday before she would send someone other that Russ. Frustrated, we had to have Russ do the installation and asked him to check the icemaker as well. He said it looked great and left. There’s no ice and no refund for the $91.00 part they originally sold us in error. I get an email most days stating that my request to speak with a supervisor was lost, has been resubmitted and so forth. I, too, am now on the list of consumers that will never buy another GE product and will tell everyone I know of the experience I had with the Jacksonville, Florida GE repair service. The situation with dispatch insisting on sending someone into my home that I did not feel comfortable with bothers me more than anything else in this experience. It looks like I am going to have to take them to small claims court.

I'm down to being able to use only the top half of the refrigerator part where the shelves are left. All the rest of my food, except for what will fit in the door bins is piled in a heap on the last remaining bit of the bottom drawer. The handle to the refrigerator door is loose. All the bins and drawers were made of cheap, thin plastic.

I purchased my home about 2 and 1/2 years ago. At that time, I purchased all new GE appliances: refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, washer and dryer. I purchased GE as I thought they were a good, reputable company. Back in November, the ice maker stopped working. It would lump up into one big ice ball and be too big to go down the ice maker shoot. We have been back and forth for months trying to get some satisfaction via the phone. We had to have two different service guys come out (as the first one did not seem knowledgeable at all). Now, we are being told to possibly fix the problem, it will cost us almost $300. I am completely dissatisfied as now I have seen how many complaints GE refrigerators have. This is unacceptable that you have so many complaints about your refrigerators, but yet you still sell them to the consumers. A refrigerator should last more than two years. This is absurd.

We have a PSC25MSWA, side-by-side GE refrigerator. We have been experiencing problems over the past few months with items in the freezer melting and then freezing again. I originally thought we merely had too many items in the freezer and removed most items to see what would happen. Again, the freezer began to defrost and the ice melted. GE informed me that it could be the motherboard. After having a service call by an independent repair service, I was informed that there is a leak in the sealed system. The cost to repair/replace the parts will be close to $1,000. Even then, there is no guarantee that it won't happen again. The refrigerator was purchased five years ago, so we are at the end of the warranty period. The repairman said that GE recognized the problem with the sealed system on this model and discontinued making it. Great! The repairman suggested that we just purchased a new refrigerator and not waste money on trying to repair it. We paid quite a bit of money for a refrigerator to only last five years.

We purchased our GE Profile Model PFS22S1SBSS in October of 2006 for our kitchen remodel. Our "old" 7 year old, no frills refrigerator was working just fine, but we were "upgrading". In June of 2011, we came home and found our refrigerator literally at room temperature, 72 degrees and the freezer at 32 degrees. We lost all our recently purchased groceries and some previously purchased (frozen) groceries. The GE technician came out to "see what the problem was". He could not repair it until the next trip out. It was the motherboard like so many other complaints above. He replaced it and it worked for a few hours before going out again. He replaced it again and it seemed to be working. We purchased more food only to have the unit go out again. He came back again and had to replace another part in the freezer.
After about 5 calls, the customer service person actually mentioned that the insurance would provide up to $100 per loss of food. And they gave me $100 toward a rental unit because we had no way to keep food. Fast forward to 11 months later and after buying $300 worth of groceries, we came home to the same problem the day before Memorial Day weekend! Of course now, the warranty has expired so any repairs will be on our dime. After reading all of the prior posts, I am going to look for a new refrigerator by anyone other than GE! I agree I don't understand why these units or the mother board have not been recalled or why GE doesn't recognize this obvious recurrent problem. Wait a minute, yes I do, pure greed and a lack of any concern for their customers or obviously their reputation. If you still are under warranty, at least get some money out of them for your lost groceries and or toward another refrigerator! It's not anywhere near what they should do, but it's better than nothing. Our service call is tomorrow. I don't even know if we should waste our time and money!

We purchased a GE refrigerator, model PFS22MBWW, in August 2007 and found out that it was a cheap piece of crap. We paid over $1500 for this model, freezer on the bottom. The cheap plastic parts break all the time and the main board has gone out twice. Luckily, we purchased an extended warranty to cover this item. It pools water in from of the unit and the bottom of the freezer builds up ice and the only way to clear it is to chip it out gently to get rid of it. The drawer handles have broken numerous times. My grandmother's old refrigerator was a tank compared to this. I asked a Sears salesperson how long should one of these units last. He said, "If you are lucky, 7-10 years!" Planned obsolescence. Finally, on May 4, 2012, we called GE for repair when we found several places where the plastic auger blades were broken off and missing. We paid $192 for a replacement ice-maker and received the unit on May 10, 2012. I again lost all my food, and the GE tech came out and replaced the part and added freon. This also happened four months later and is happening again.
So, that's four times for the same problem. The GE tech determined that it is due to a leak in the sealed system and the leak is where they can't get at it. I have an email from consumer relations that states that you need four completed service calls before they offer a replacement for excessive service. The sealed system is warranted for five years. I have a GE side-by-side refrigerator, I believe 2007 model. I am so dissatisfied with the water dispenser on this fridge. It worked great for the first couple of years, but in the last two years, I have had to empty my freezer and fridge, unplug it and let it defrost overnight. Then the water dispenser would work for a little while. I have had to deal with this process probably 5-6 times a year. Now it has gotten progressively worse. Just the other day, after letting it defrost for 2 days, the water worked for about 6 hours and now once again, no water comes out. I can't believe that I have to deal with this issue constantly. I have gotten to the point where I just drink tap water.
This is so frustrating. You pay enough for a refrigerator with the extras like an ice maker and water dispenser and it is nothing but a headache after only three years. I have called twice for a repairman (local) to come out to look at the problem, but had no success. I really can't afford to keep paying for service on this fridge. GE Profile - The refrigerator does not get a lot of wear and tear as I live alone. I do not recommend this product for the following reasons: mother board went out 8/07, lost food, two of the drawer handles have split, ice maker is poorly designed (the ice cubes spill out the back of the bin which piles up in the bottom of the freezer which will not allow the freezer drawer to close), poor interior design, terrible utilization of space.
Top shelves are worthless in space. The display/light panel is 14 inches across, hangs down 2 inches and mounted to the front which blocks using the space behind it. This should have been mounted flush with the back so as to free up space in front of it. Directly to the right is a 4.5 in. x 14 x 3 in. filter. In other words, only small items fit on the top self. There's a bar underneath the split shelf that hangs down 2 inches which restricts space also. With the drink carrier; height of rack has 3.5 inches of wasted space. Cans don't need this much space. With the deli drawer, there's another 2 inches of dead between bottom of drawer and top of vegetable bin/drawer. Bottom vegetable/meat bins/drawers are too large in height. All of this adds up to very little space for large items such as juice, milk containers and anything over 6-10 inches in height. I've resorted to cramming the inside door racks with this stuff which makes the doors overweight and then will not shut properly. Alarm doesn't beep when left slightly open.
It is a very attractive refrigerator; however, I wish I have not purchased it.

I join the many consumers who are dissatisfied with the performance of the very expensive GE Monogram Side by Side refrigerator (model ZIS 420). Originally purchased at $5500, it has cost us $3000 in repairs during its seven-year lifespan. It now seems to be beyond repair and we need to replace it, for another brand, I might add! Despite multiple visits and many parts replaced, it continues to have unreliable temperature control, over freezing in the freezer (down to -18 degrees at one point) and not holding the temperature on the fridge side. There probably is lots of mold growing in the back of this refrigerator after much condensation and leaks. It is totally disgusting and this product should be off the market. GE is not motivated to remove it because they make so much money on their repairs and extended warranty business! They've lost my confidence.

I have had my refrigerator repaired over and over. The water filter system stops working after a few weeks over and over again. The 800 customer service number told me years ago to pull out the refrigerator tray near the bottom and I will see all the water tubing in the back of the refrigerator. They said it freezes up and to pull out the trays, thaw out a while, empty the ice tray. Basically, the old timey defrost!
This has been a nightmare because sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. My food spoils sitting out. Today, the 800 number told me that I could pay their technician to install a heater in the back. What?! I asked him why GE doesn't pay for this heater in the back since they know it is a problem for years. I waste $49 on new water filters and then it doesn't work again. I keep asking why these haven't been recalled and sometimes, they tell me that they don't know why not!
I try to support GE because they employ a lot of Americans but I doubt I will ever buy GE again. My dishwasher has been a nightmare also. The repairman said that I have spent more on his repair services than if I had bought new products again. But I have not owned these products very long. Why are these products not being recalled?

I bought the GE Profile refrigerator in 2007 (for way too much money) and have experienced the same cooling problems as indicated by prior posts. This fridge would not maintain temperature and food would spoil. The food in the freezer would actually melt to a point of leaking and create a wonderful mess, oh joy. I moved it to the garage 3 years ago (after only 2 years of service) for drink storage and replaced it with a ding-and-dent Whirlpool model that runs just fine.
The GE fridge still does not maintain temperature and also ices up behind the produce drawers. I had to empty it out yesterday and clean it because mold started growing in the refrigerator section - I've never had a refrigerator do that. This product is faulty and should never have made it off the production line. As a custom home builder, I am recommending my clients and friends stay clear of GE products. I have never been interested in class action lawsuits but I might join in if there is one against GE on this.

For the 2nd or 3rd time, we have had a problem with the automatic icemaker in our refrigerator (model number GSH25JFXB CC, serial number LR205201). It does not stop making ice, just like before. We paid $279.75 for our service agreement and close to $900 for the refrigerator. We had a GE tech over twice. All he did was change the feeler arm field fix (WR49X10103). The last time was February 22, 2012. He had to order the bin that catches the ice. As is, your system calls us after a tech person services the appliance. They called twice, and we told them that we cannot give them an answer, until the parts arrive. The bin parts arrived about a week later, but GE did not call us again.
The consequence is I have to empty a very full bin every night. This is causing a mess in the freezer area, and costing me money wasting water. I have scheduled a service tech for this Friday, and it will be no use if all he wants to do is change the feeler arm. The entire icemaker should be changed for one that automatically stops when the bin is full of ice. I will not pay anything for replacing the icemaker.

I purchased a GE Monogram refrigerator and GE Monogram freezer (two separate built-in units) and have had terrible problems with the refrigerator. The most recent problems had to do with the refrigerator freezing up and then thawing and dumping a half gallon of water on the floor.
I dealt with Sears (A&E is their subcontractor) and they tried everything they could think of to repair it including replacing three thermostats and a heater (in a refrigerator?). Anyway, after six separate visits, they offered to give me my money back. The refrigerator had formerly had a terrible problem with mold (which GE finally acknowledged and repaired). I had obviously planned on keeping the set longer than this and I am now stuck with keeping a towel in place of the bottom drawer and a pan outside the unit to catch the water when it decides to defrost (very unattractive). This also does amazing things to the food inside the refrigerator, as it is impossible to maintain a constant temperature. I don't know what to try now, as Sears has obviously thrown up their hands.

The ice maker/water dispenser is also not functioning properly, and although I recently changed the water filter, only a trickle of water comes out. I purchased several GE Monogram appliances in June of 2006 as part of my kitchen makeover project. Four out of six appliances had major product manufacturing and part defects particularly the refrigerator (Model ZISS480DRSS) and cooking range (Model ZGU36N6HSS). I might have had at least six service calls in the past two years for each of these products. Everything on the cooking range had to be replaced including ignition, burners and the gas tubing. We have replaced the motherboard for the refrigerator twice in the past year and last week when all my food got frozen the technician indicated that the motherboard has to be replaced again. Several parts including a noisy compressor fan, thermostat and some vent parts had to be replaced.
I am very frustrated with the quality of GE. I thought the Monogram was the top-of-the-line and was manufactured with quality components. I was completely wrong. I would never recommend GE to anyone. I might have spent over $ 2000 already on a $ 6000 refrigerator. GE needs to get their act together. I am very disappointed and forced to buy an extended warranty which will cost me another $ 1000 for the next three years on the refrigerator alone which includes a $50 deductible for each repair. I wish GE replaces my refrigerator all together or at least give me a free extended warranty for next five years.

In 2004, I purchased Model #PSH23PGRABB, Serial #MG425705 for my new home after doing a lot of research into all appliances. In August 2008, I had to have the inverter replaced, costing me $591.02. I was told by the repair person that inverters seldom go bad.
In the end of 2009, I discovered a large puddle of water at the base of the exterior refrigerator wall. The cause of this puddle was later determined to be a leaking water line leading from the refrigerator to the wall. This resulted in the replacement of the majority of that kitchen/garage wall, along with cabinets that were water damaged. It also required the removal of mold. Not only did this require me to interrupt my heavy work schedule to be home for the repairs, but my kitchen was torn up for several weeks. This resulted in repairs totaling $4,476, which included out-of-pocket costs to me of $1,000 for the homeowner's insurance deductible. When the repair person replaced the inverter, there was no water damage at that time. Therefore, it had to have occurred sometime after August 2008, when the inverter was replaced, and then built up until I discovered the puddle approximately 1 year later.
Approximately 2 months ago, my son discovered water damage to the cabinetry which surrounds the refrigerator. When I pulled the refrigerator out, I discovered water on the floor under where the refrigerator was, mold growing along the bottom of the wall and additional water damage to the cabinets on the bottom. I found that the water line was leaking at the base of the refrigerator (not at the connection, like last time). I immediately turned off the water valve and had it repaired on January 31st, this time costing me $204.42 for the repair. However, mold is still present, and as a result of all of the above water-related issues, I continue to have mold grow inside of the refrigerator where the food is stored. Mold is very unhealthy to ingest. I also still have water-damaged cabinetry that surrounds the refrigerator. I have photographs and some receipts to support these claims, if needed.
Needless to say, I am very disappointed with this series of events and am seeking some compensation from you, as it is my intent to put my house up for sale within the next year or so. Towards that end, I would appreciate your consideration of remedying this as quickly as possible. Ideally, I would like the refrigerator replaced to eliminate the mold growth and to have the water-damaged cabinets replaced (I would have to get a quote, if that is the route we will take). I would also need to see if mold exists in the wall and if so, take the necessary steps to certify it is gone so I can sell my home with full disclosure. Receiving reimbursement for the above expenses I incurred from these issues would also be appreciated.
Please be aware that my entire house is equipped with GE appliances because of the research I did and your company's reputation. However, I have had numerous issues with several of them; washing machine kept getting off balanced and after 3 service calls, I finally had to replace it after being only 6 years old; dishwasher doesn't clean the dishes well, especially the glassware; convection oven fan kept getting unloosened; and the refrigerator.
I would appreciate hearing from you so we can work together amicably to come to an agreeable resolution in this continuing matter concerning my refrigerator. If we are unable to reach a fair resolution, then I would be interested in speaking with an attorney; however, I am hoping not to have to do so.

We bought our refrigerator at the beginning of ‘06 and paid a whopping 2700 dollars for it. It's the side by side stainless steel Arctica. It was never very good at keeping things really nice and cool. Last year it quit making ice and the freezer and fridge both didn't work. The parts were still under warranty and we paid $200 to have the service man come out. He replaced over 1000 dollars in parts. However, it just doesn't keep things cool. The fridge stinks because things keep going bad and I have to search for the source each time. This is because it doesn't cool well at all. Finally, we stuck a good quality thermometer in it and in the middle - it maintains a 41 degree temp while being turned down to 34 degrees. It’s no wonder our food is going bad. I have a feeling that this refrigerator has design flaws and this is why it doesn't work right. GE needs to fess up to its mistakes before someone gets really ill from the food stored in these refrigerators.

A year later, the drawer broke because of another plastic piece broke. After that, the expandable shelf broke also because of a plastic piece broke and just last year, the door broke again. The same plastic piece. Now a month away from the end of the 5 year warranty, it keeps on changing temperature but the service man came out and told us it was not covered by the warranty and it would cost $310.00 to fix it, so if I wanted to fix everything, the shelf $279, the drawer $240, the door about $700 and now the control board $310. I could buy a new one. Where is your quality control? I know they make plastic that is almost totally unbreakable. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has complained. In a 2 year period, I had 3 different companies come out a total of 8 times to look at it. The first company was A&E from Albuquerque! Don't bother getting these guys to your house. The guy they sent was on a personal phone calls, constantly, and broke a very expensive piece of porcelain, and his company never did anything about it. I was having the same problems all the time. The ice maker wouldn't make ice, the freezer's temperature's continuously fluctuating, and the fridge temperature kept climbing, in spite of me turning the temperature below its recommended 37 degrees! They spent thousands of dollars in replacements, compressors, motherboards, fans, etc.
I kept asking them for a replacement, but they said the same complaints had to be made 4 times. I was making the same complaints to the company all the time, but the idiot fix it guys kept writing down different things! I was so frustrated. They would give me an appointment time, I'd take time off work, and they wouldn't show up! Finally, a guy from GE, came out, and he changed a board, and it seemed to work better, but then a few months later, when the warranty had expired, the same things happened again. Now, it won't make ice at all. I totally emptied the freezer and fridge, unplugged it, then let it sit open for about 14 hours. I thought maybe a line was frozen, and of course nothing! I will never, ever buy another GE appliance again! Inside the fridge, it tells me it was assembled in Mexico, so what can we expect! The microwave has had most of everything replaced, and the door is fogged up again and external plastic pieces are literally falling apart. The dishwasher (if that's what you want to call it) has to have the dishes pre-washed, and not loaded fully. It doesn't get the dishes clean, and this also is the loudest one I have ever heard. I bought a GE side by side refrigerator model GSH22JSXL 2 years ago and have very bad experience with the water dispenser. The water line goes through the freezer door since the dispensing drinking water gets frozen inside the door due to bad insulation. A professional service technician inspected the door and advised me to contact GE because they knew that this is a manufacturing defect.
Since this has happened before, I do not want it to be continued every few months. Even in my community, other neighbors bought same refrigerator and they are having similar bad experience. When I contacted GE Customer Care and Customer Relations, everyone is covering it up as it is now out of warranty and I need to purchase a new door for $700, plus parts and installation. They do not want to admit the manufacturing defect.
The repair cost is almost close to buying a new one and there is no guarantee that a new one will not cause trouble. It seems like GE is making cheap products to trap customers and make more money over their repairs later. I do not trust GE brands anymore and will not recommend it to others.

Again, approximately 6 months later, the same issue, frozen water line and frozen water or ice below the lower roll out tray. Again, the service person repaired.
The repair/fix for this issue is ongoing. Note that all the parts to correct the issue have been replaced. But still the freezing of the water line and ice maker go on. We bought all-new GE monogram appliances for our kitchen in 2003,. We have had nothing but trouble! Everything is stainless steel First, the dishwasher electrical system went out and this continued to happen five times, each time I had to pay for a service call. It was still under warranty at this time. (But once it goes to the extended warranty all previous service calls do not count so all previous problems are null and void.) After many tedious phone calls, they let me buy a replacement dishwasher for $800, which was to be half price. The dishwasher was two years old; two person household. We have had to replace the ice maker, the monogram built-in all stainless steel.
The monogram convection oven was a joke. We had three services call to fix the temperature control, which would burn everything. It just stopped working last year and would cost $1,800 to fix it! So we replaced it with a Kenmore convection. No trouble with Kenmore and cooks great. The GE SS monogram all refrigerator is a piece of junk! The shelves rusted out within the first seven months. They replaced them but within four months they were rusted again and that was because the condenser was rusting out. They replaced this because it was still under warranty! But alas it broke again and we had it fixed for $1,700. One year later it rusted again and leaked water! So somehow we will have to replace an $8,000 refrigerator.
Now on to the GE profile washer and dryer. Washer stopped working after the first three weeks and had gone downhill from there. Today we had our last service call for this washer. It will take $1,500 to fix it because to fix the bearing you have to dismantle another part to get to the bearing. So now I have to buy a new washer or continue to have my clothes stained and the sound of a plane landing in my laundry room!
GE is the worst product on the planet! The service people are of no help at all when you call. I have gotten to know my service guy so well I have coffee ready when he comes over. (I think he went on a European vacation on my services calls alone.) If you ever even think about buying a GE product, run as fast as you can to get away. They are a nightmare that never ends!

Just over 5 years ago, I bought a side by side GE Monogram refrigerator (model ZFSB26DRH SS). It thaws the top shelf in the freezer, and freezes my produce in the refrigerator. I'm so frustrated. Because our family is large (prior technicians claimed it to be our issue, leaving the door ajar etc.), and this fridge is an extra (in the garage), I did not pursue it aggressively enough to get a replacement. I am enormously frustrated, and out hundreds of dollars in ruined food and repair bills, which haven't resolved the issue yet!

Never, ever buy a GE refrigerator! Six years ago, we purchased top of the line GE monogram and the ice maker never worked correctly. At year 6, the thing would not cool properly. The repair techs (from GE) said it had a faulty controller board they replaced it and charged $500 for labor and told us how thankful we should be that the parts were under some kind of repair/recall. Then six months later, the coils in the fridge started freezing over and then once again the fridge/freezer would not cool in fact it heated! Another $100 service call later (GE authorized again), an old timer came out and said $924 and can't guarantee it will work, better off to trash heap it. Don't buy GE! This was a counter depth monogram side by side used by only a 3-person family. Go figure?

I purchased a GE Profile side-by-side refrigerator model PSS26PSWSS 4 1/2 years ago. It has been trouble from the first year. GE replaced the fresh food fan motor and the dual evaporator ice ball twice within 6 months. Then it had problems with the ice maker. Now, since October, 2011 the ice ball kit was replaced again (this time under the extended warranty). This was because there was condensation inside the center wall. Since then, it started freezing up behind the tray I keep lettuce. They then replaced the evaporator, Sensor and Fan Chill parts. As of December 30, 2011, the extended warranty people came out and determined it was a circuit board problem. After he left neither the freezer nor the refrigerator worked. It died and I lost food. I called GE since they cover the compressor for 5 years.
They confirmed the compressor was "dead". In the meantime, while that's on order, the circuit board is in and the extended warranty replaces the circuit board. Guess what, the compressor still does not work. Good ole GE comes back to determine the problem and finds the "new" compressor appears to be defective. Just got the "new" replacement compressor today and still waiting for GE to come back. My guess is whatever has been wrong with this thing has put so much strain on the compressor it just quit working. Of course, we are in a Catch 22 situation and with all the problems from year one. No one wants to make a decision to replace it.
The extended warranty people are just replacing parts left and right. One of the parts they replaced is glued together with gray duct tape. Their explanation to that is "GE didn't provide them with enough white duct tape". And, on top of that, they claim it shouldn't be a problem since you can't see it until you take the drawer out to clean. I have beautiful pictures showing all this and the sloppy installation with caulking. This is a pure mess. Even if the "new replacement" compressor should work, I can bet it won't work long. This has been a lemon from day one and GE nor the extended warranty want to pay for replacing. I have been without a refrigerator for 2 weeks now.
There are no consequences at this moment. They are still blaming each other and even the technicians that come out under the extended warranty say this can go on and on just replacing parts as long as there are parts available. In other words, I will probably have to go out and buy a new refrigerator but you can be assured it will not be a GE. If I have to purchase one, I'm forwarding all my complaints to the BBB, Attorney General and anyone else that will listen and try to get some compensation out of this nightmare.

Our water dispenser line in our GE Refrigerator freezes. It costs $90 for a technician to thaw it. He recommended replacing the door and, of course, that would involve a couple of other parts, all for the low price of $1,200. When I asked if the new door would have the same problem, the answer was, "probably". Do people actually spend this much money to repair a defect? Shouldn't this defect be covered by a warranty?

Do yourself a great favor and read the innumerable complaints in the internet about GE refrigerators and other GE appliances before considering buying anything made by GE. I wish I had done it before buying an expensive GE refrigerator. You will be horrified by the massive number of complaints about malfunctioning GE refrigerators and other GE appliances reported and stunned at the lack of responsibility, concern and contempt displayed by GE.
Two weeks ago, the expensive GE Monogram refrigerator we purchased a few years ago quit cooling. So far, we have had three GE technicians come for service and every time we call GE service, we have to wait another week for a technician to come. The first two technicians stated that there was nothing wrong with the compressor and replaced the same 'problem' board. Additionally, both technicians claimed that the refrigerator was fixed at the end of their service visit. The refrigerator is still not cooling.
Today, a third GE technician came. It is always a different person and this time the compressor was blamed for the problem. Obviously, there is a lot of guess work going on here. This last technician credited the $340 we paid originally but now the bill has increased to $518 to replace the compressor. Supposedly, they have to order the parts and we will be without a refrigerator for another two weeks.
Judging by the terrible reports from the countless dissatisfied and frustrated GE consumers, I am bracing myself for a long struggle with this abusive giant. Ironically, my inexpensive 25 year old Kenmore refrigerator in the garage has never been serviced and is still working like a charm. If getting what you pay for is important to you, do not buy anything made by GE!

In three years I've owned my expensive GE Profile side-by-side fridge the motherboard has had to be replaced three times. This past instance the fridge was unable to maintain a temperature below 44 degrees. GE appliance repair sent a tech. He did not have the part, necessitating a second visit (some $80 for each visit). On visit number two, he replaced the motherboard and says he's fixed it. Now the fridge temperature’s rise to 57 degrees and the freezer (which had been working as usual) ceased to function. I asked a customer service rep, and getting ahold of one took 20 minutes on hold, to facilitate scheduling a visit—no dice. I had to wait another several days and then once again stay at home all day till they bothered to show up. Although an email confirmation notice said I'd receive a confirmation call the night before, this did not happen. I also asked they not send the same tech as he obviously did not know what he was doing—no dice.
On visit number three, the repairman admits he had pulled the fridge plug partially out of the wall in visit number two, causing an "arcing" which had blown out the new motherboard. This time he had a new one available and installed it. He left claiming once again to have fixed the problem. Partially correct: the freezer works again. The fridge seems to be working about as well as it did when I made the first call (not well but a little), but now the touch screen and beverage center, etc. is not working. A call to customer service made within minutes of his departure elicited a promise of a call to dispatch and a commitment that I would receive a phone call from GE repair and that the tech would return to my home. By 3:00 pm there's no call and no tech. Another call to GE repair, another agent tells me I'm scheduled for the next day. No email confirmation, no confirming call, no nothing. So, will he show again? And I'm wondering what will he break this time.
The fridge itself is a disaster. The service is a disaster. GE obviously doesn't care—each rep I have spoken with sounds incredibly bored and detached. I guess they are accustomed to complaints because the products are defective. I will be sure to tell as many folks as I possibly can: do not purchase GE products. By the way, I have a 20-year old Kenmore elsewhere that's running like a charm.

I sit looking at my loudly humming and gurgling, beautiful GE profile stainless french door refrigerator that I purchased in 2007 when I moved into my house. Instead of something novel for my wife, I'll be buying a new refrigerator for Christmas. After working to try to keep it to hold temps for the first few years, on the third year, I had to call in trouble. The GE tech said he could be there in four days. Neato! So I called the generic fridge tech and told him it was a GE and he said he'd be right out. I asked him if he needed to know the model. Nope, he had the parts.
He replaced the main board. It's the same board on all GE products during these years, and so he had a passel full of spares in his van. Now 18 months later, the fridge is dying again; it's 31 in the freezer, 45 in the fridge. I have a box fan blowing on the coils to see if I can carry it until I can get a replacement. That's thousands of dollars wasted. The non-GE scratch and dent I bought 7 years ago for a rental house I own purrs away year after year. My top-of-the-line GE dies every 2 years. Looking at the complaints here, I guess the motto is clear. Never buy GE. Never buy GE. Never buy GE. Never buy GE. Never ever ever ever buy GE.

GE will not get the part until January 31 and it will not be available to the public until February 6th. I called GE, went up the chain of command, and ended up finding an employee named Mary who said she could help. When I tried to contact her to give her my information, the number actually went to a Greg ** who is supposed to be a quality control engineer.
My guess is they know this is a huge issue, but are trying to avoid consumers and solving the problem. My fridge will heat up to 60 and freezer goes to 40, then after I unplug it and plug it back in, it will sound like it's whirring and the compressor sounds active, then I hear a loud single click and it shuts off. Two months after my 5 year warranty expired in 2009, I experienced my first problem with the unit not defrosting properly. I'd have to unplug it awhile and it would then start working. Within the year of '09, I had three service calls: May (replaced motherboard), June (replaced condenser), December (full diagnostic conducted by a different technician who also stated previous GE tech didn't properly perform a complete diagnostic on the previous visits due to that tech's laptop not working properly).
In June of 2010, I had a defrost administer replaced and finally on 10/11/11, a repairman told me a heater component which regulates the defrost needed to be replaced which cost right under $600! I objected and the repairman even stated "I know, you can just buy a new fridge for that price." I then asked him to leave and refused to pay a $90 service fee. Also, the main issue of needing freon constantly added after just about each visit was never addressed which again tells me the techs were simply masking the main problem.
Keep in mind, after replacing the motherboard and then having to replace the condenser a month later, the repair tech agreed with my notion that the motherboard was never the issue and so they gave me a credit on that cost. I knew then the technicians were simply guessing at the problem yet none of them would deem my unit "non-repairable" which is needed to have my unit replaced at no cost to me; off record, the initial tech stated this should be the case and that the unit needs to be looked at in GE's lab to properly assess it. After like the 3rd visit, the tech decided to simply show me how to defrost a non-defrost refrigerator which again tells me the tech knew I would continue to have these problems.

Our GE refrigerator is the worst appliance I have ever owned. It grows mold faster and it is out of control. Every two months, I have to totally disassemble my fridge and scrub it down. And this isn't a tiny bit of mold. It is covered with mold! In fact, I would say there is more mold than if you tried to grow mold. There are mold in places you would never expect, including the door and walls where no food comes in contact.
I throw out food like no other. Condiments like ketchup and worcestershire sauce have to be thrown out. I am constantly running to the store. I am a fastidious housekeeper, almost OCD, yet I cannot keep up with this refrigerator. My neighbor with 4 kids at home has a Frigidaire and she cleans it once a year. Whether it needs to or not.
We both agree, neither of us has seen anything so gross. I have pictures. The repair service has been no help. They claim I don't have my humidifier settings correct. Trust me, if it was that easy I would be thrilled. Obviously this is a manufacturing defect, check the consumer reports. I am not the only person with this problem. GE takes no responsibility for this so the only recourse is to share with others so other people don't get ripped off from this company.

The GE Warranty doesn't work. It has been only two months since I got a new GE Refrigerator Model PFCS1RKZA SS (Bottom Freezer Style). I paid $2500 approximately. I got this noisy device which can be heard from everywhere inside the house and the refrigerator emits a constant / loud high-frequency buzz coming from the motor-fan so I called GE to get it repaired through warranty.
Upon arrival, the technician told me that the noise is normal. As I disagreed, he confessed that he has never replaced that type of motor; that it was very complicated and it would take a lot of time and effort. Then I asked him: Are you telling me that I would have to live with that noise? The technician shrugged and left. So I requested another service appointment to resolve the problem, but instead I got is a phone call from Tel 1.800.491.2737, a person that identified himself as a GE engineer who was trained by the same people who designed that refrigerator.
He told me that there was no problem with my refrigerator, and that if I wanted to get it serviced, he would have to bill me $79 for the second visit. So I asked him: Why do you want to get my $79 if you guys have already decided not to repair my noisy new refrigerator? He responded that he would then cancel the service appointment, so he did.
I set another appointment through GE's website and got visited by another technician from the same repairing department; he already came into my house with a bad attitude. He was discourteous and aggressive and he did not even check the refrigerator: He just opened the doors for two second, and told me that there was nothing wrong with it and left. He was previously instructed to do so, which was confirmed when I got a second phone call from the same GE engineer telling me that he has billed me $79 for the second visit. It's no doubt that the GE service warranty people in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, are irresponsible and dishonest.

He said "Oh, they have nothing but trouble with this model! " He filed his report. Since the refrigerator was only 3 months old, we were advised to cut off the power cord at about 12", keep plug attached, mail it in for a full refund. We were then stuck with a dead refrigerator that looked nice, but was worthless. Thought the GE Profile would be top of the line, we have limited income, so this was a major purchase. We are thankful that we decided to get the extended warranty. We bought the refrigerator, PFS22MBSWW on December 7, 2006 and problems developed immediately. Home Depot brought a "loaner" until the problem was fixed.
The icemaker that was installed later has never worked properly. The plastic latch on the door broke off. The shelve support broke, and thus, the meat tray cracked. I could never depend on the temperature; the freezer would not keep ice cream because of the variable temperatures. I thought I was not closing the door well or something was blocking the seal.
We have dealt with this for the past five years, and the system has failed completely. My warranty is out in December, and after reading the other consumer reports, I see no hope for this refrigerator. I have been waiting for about 3 weeks for an authorized serviceman from GE. The technician now says that this frig cannot be fixed. We believe that it is a piece of junk! Our food is subjected to constant heating and refreezing/re-cooling, which is not a healthy situation. It usually takes a couple of years and then ice keeps forming in the water dispenser tube. GE knows about this issue, so they created a part you can order for $30 called a water tube heater. This is incredible. They sell a shoddy product with a known defect and then, want to further profit from you by charging you for the missing part! I consider this to be nothing short of fraud. I purchased a GE Monogram side-by-side counter depth refrigerator in 2004 and have had the motherboard replaced once along with a compressor, damper door, evaporative motor, condenser fan motor, etc. I always have had a problem with increasing or decreasing temperatures in the unit, along with all kinds of weird noises. The unit became increasingly hotter early summer and I called out our appliance repair service that we use for all our appliances and are happy with them --very honest. I was told that the motherboard was out and would have to be replaced. Our technician said he would order it and that he would probably be out the next day or so to install it.
I got a call the next morning from the service, stating that there were no motherboards available. I found that odd and called GE myself and spoke to about five departments until I got the number for the GE Monogram customer service department. At which time, I learned that they had recalled all motherboards and were remanufacturing them. They would not be done for sometime. I was told by my representative that she had found one on Amazon for another woman earlier that day, however, she was not allowed to order them and suggested that I order one. I stated the fact that why would I want to order one that was being recalled when I should just wait and get a new one? I decided to check the appliance sites online and found that the motherboard was listed as available, but when you went to order it, it was on backorder.
I then called GE back and was told that they should be available in September. I called back and was told that they were back from manufacturing, would be programmed and she would send one out by the end of the following week. After waiting four weeks, I called back and talked to another representative, that my original contact had not sent anything and that he would overnight one (at no cost) that Thursday. The following Tuesday (today), when I still had not received my overnight package, I called and talked to my original rep. She finally told me that they had manufacturing problems and that it would not be available until November (like I believe that). Again, her only suggestion was to help me with the price of a new unit to which I told her that I would never ever buy another GE product in my life.
I insisted that I speak to her boss. Conveniently, all bosses were in a meeting. While I was out, she called and apologized but said that it was out of their control. Meanwhile, I have been without a refrigerator since July. I use the freezer part as my refrigerator since it is now only cold enough to act as a refrigerator. After reading all the complaints and hearing about a recall to their suppliers (which I assumed is why you can't even find an old motherboard) and not informing the consumers, I would gladly join any class action lawsuit.
