I purchased a Frigidaire Gallery gas Range from Sears. In 4 months the touch pad stopped working. First one number didn't respond. So, we stopped using the 1 digit. Soon another then another stopped working. The Sears warranty was invalid. So I replaced the $120 touch pad myself. While taking out the old part I noticed how poorly the thing was put together. All the screws were over-torqued cracking the plastic parts in many places. I replaced the touch pad and it worked fine.
Then 2 more months went by and the electronic brain shorted out in a thunderstorm. Again, Sears would not do anything about it so I replaced the part myself. Now the new Sears replacement touch pad is starting to not work again! We now have to cook without the #3. So 350 degrees is 400 degrees or 299. It is so frustrating. We bought a whole suite of appliances. Frigidaire dishwasher was so bad that we had Sears come and get it the day after it was installed and they replaced it with a Kenmore when I complained repeatedly. The refrigerator works, but is noisy. I will never shop at Sears again and I recommend that you buy nothing there. They do not back up what they sell!

I just want to let you know about Frigidaire products! I purchased an entire kitchen suite one year ago, the Frigidaire Professional Series. Within four months, the refrigerator broke. When the repairman came, he said he couldn't fix it, and I was issued a new refrigerator. However, since they had to get it from the original place I purchased them, I had to wait about a week for the replacement. Oh, and no, they did not replace any of my food, which I lost. They told me that is not covered! Less than a year after the purchase, the dishwasher began to leak all over my pergo floor, so I had the repairman come, which luckily, it was still under warranty.
Less than one month later, on Christmas eve, when I had all of my Christmas eve dinner plates in the dishwasher ready to wash, once again, the floor flooded, leaving me with a bunch of dirty dishes, and a flooded floor. Nice, right? It's just what everyone wants to do for the holidays! I called the repairman, but I also contacted Frigidaire to see if they were going to stand behind their products, and they told me they couldn't pay for the labor, because the warranty was over by about three weeks!
Really, are you kidding me? They finally agreed, after I threw a fit, that they would cover the repair of the dishwasher. I had, for 11 years previous to this, Sears Kenmore products, and never had the repairman at my house for them! I am so surprised that Electrolux would even be connected with such terrible products! I wouldn't purchase a toaster if it had Frigidaire on it! I have sent an email to their corporate office, and hopefully one of them will have the decency to call me, regarding their products.

As with another review, I also tried not to give any stars but was unable to. I purchased both a Frigidaire fridge and dishwasher in May 2011. I hadn't even had the fridge 3 months before experiencing problems. The food in the bottom tray of the fridge kept freezing and the ice dispenser would not dispense ice. I was provided with three services companies which I could contact according to Frigidaire since the product was under warranty. I scheduled my first appointment, just to have the service man inform me that Frigidaire has been having many issues with this fridge and he didn't have the part that was needed and would need to come back. He came back and installed the correct part, so the fridge would dispense ice but yet the food in the bottom tray was still freezing. A few months later the fridge stopped dispensing ice again.
I called and made another appointment, just to have the service man come out and say I see what it's doing and when I run all the tests it is passing, but I need to call the manufacturer and they are closed. Having to schedule another appointment which I did, just to have the same thing happen again!! This has been an ongoing issue for about 5-6 months now. All of a sudden the dishwasher is now falling apart as well. I have asked numerous times for a refund and have been told unless you have had three services and them manufacturer deems the product un-repairable, we cannot offer you a refund. In such an economy when people have to work to pay for appliances costing $2000 they expect people to work around their schedule, because it seems like they are never open. I will never purchase another appliance from this manufacturer ever again. I would much rather pay a little bit more if I had to just to avoid the headaches and excuses I have had to deal with.

I would prefer no stars but unfortunately I was not given that option! I will never again purchase anything made by Frigidaire or their partners. I bought a stop top from them when we built our house 12 years ago. After 7 or 8 years, one of the switches broke. There was no problem with this. But when we called to get the replacement part ($123 plus S&H), what they sent us was not the original part. It had been replaced by a very poor quality universal part. I called to tell them that this part would not last and that I was sure it would break again. Their "customer service" department gave us no options!
Well, a couple of years later, the part did indeed break again. We called CS again and was told that they would be glad to sell us another switch and that a repair technician would have to come and replace it. We would have to pay for that charge as well. After much hassle on the phone, they finally agreed to have him come out at no charge to us, because they thought we were not placing the switch in correctly and that was surely the reason it broke! Well, once again, the switch has broken. Our only recourse is to buy a 3rd switch for another $123 plus S&H.
I have several issues with Frigidaire in regards to this issue! First, only one person that I spoke to today even tried to be helpful. I was transferred to multiple people and all of them seemed to be confused as to what they were supposed to be doing. They obviously do not understand what customer service really is. They kept asking me what I wanted from them. I told them the problem again and again and asked for a permanent solution to a very expensive problem! After replacing this switch 3 or 4 times, I could buy a new stop top! Not one person offered to send a new part out for free because of this being an on-going problem! Now, that would have gotten a raving fans review!
I understand that they don't want to sell me replacement parts. They want to sell me a new stove top! But that is not what I expect from a company that advertises their products as top of the line and high in performance etc. Secondly, it is a crying shame for them to charge $123 for a small switch that probably cost them $5 or $10 to make! That is price gouging if I have ever heard of it. And the last time I checked, price gouging is illegal!
I am so disappointed in this company and it is very unfortunate, because overall, I love the stovetop. When it has to be replaced however, it will definitely not be replaced with another Frigidaire product! I am curious to know if other people have had problems with this replacement switch (part no. 318078200)! This is the first time I have ever rated an experience with such negativity, but this has been the most frustrating situation! By the way, I found the switch on www.knobshopper.com for $29. Now what does that tell you?

I have a refrigerator with a freezer on top. I have banged my head on the edge or underneath the freezer door while it was open on several occasions. Last night, I banged my head so hard that I sustained a serious neck injury. I still have a headache and being treated by a doctor. This has never happened to me before with any other refrigerator/freezers. I will get rid of this refrigerator to prevent personal injury from happening again. I didn't want to spend the week leading up to Christmas in pain, but I am. I'm very frustrated! I have had two whiplashes from car accidents and this mishap with my freezer door has only compounded the problem.

I made a purchase for an Affinity washing machine from Best Buy in Columbus Georgia on 1/29/2010. September of last year, after only 9 months of use of my washer, it broke, and had to be repaired. I was told at that time, that the piece required to fix my washer was very costly, and that my washer would have to be taken apart and reassembled. That part that needed to be replaced, I believe was something called, a drain pump. Because my washer broke within a year of purchase, it was, at this time, covered by warranty. October 14th of this year, 2011, my washer began to have the same problem it did the year prior. I called you all, and was told that the piece required to fix this problem, yet again, was very costly but that you all would cover the cost of the piece, and not the service fee, and repair fee, because I was no longer under warranty.
This meant that I would be responsible for paying up to $270 to repairing it and $70 charge just to come out and assess the problem. Unfortunately, having a family of five that includes a service member and infant, I could not afford to pay over half the cost of what I paid for my washer, simply to have someone come out and fix the same issue, that I had a year earlier, less than 9 months after the date of purchase. I had to make a decision to either spend nearly $300, and risk having the same issue again, or purchase a new washer that I could rely on. I went with option number two, and spent money that we didn't have on a new more reliable washer. I am a very displeased customer, and have been greatly inconvenienced. I hope that you all can provide me with some type of solution so that I may continue to be a loyal Frigidaire customer.
The only response i received was, "we apologize that you had that issue with your appliance. Unfortunately, the parts concession to assist with the parts to repair the appliance, was the only way we could have assisted you with your appliance. We are unable to assist you any further".

I bought all Frigidaire appliances when remodeling my kitchen in 2008. Our dishwasher- model number PLD4375RFC3- mysteriously started flashing error codes "ER" and "s" about 2 months ago. It would not run after flipping breaker, etc. I had a repair guy out to check and he said we needed to replace the mother board. $300 after, our dishwasher was working, until last week when the exact same error message started flashing. Frigidaire said that it was from a power failure, however no clocks or other appliances showed the our power had gone out. Their only suggestion was to call the repair guy back. They are very unhelpful and they seemed very unconcerned.

Horrible! I will never buy another Frigidaire Product again. I have a 27" microwave oven in wall unit. I purchased the unit in June of 2009. In September 2011, the unit went out completely. Both the microwave and the oven went out. After arguing with Frigidaire for a while, I was finally able to have them cover parts to repair the unit. I had A&E Service repair the unit. They came out a total of 6 times.
The first time, the person assessed the problems and had no parts on his truck, so he could not repair the unit. After Frigidaire spent over $800 in parts to repair the unit and 6 visits from A&E, the unit was finally repaired 6 weeks later. Mind you, I was not able to use my microwave or oven for 6 weeks. I have a problem with a company manufacturing a product that breaks after 2 years of use.
There was a time when appliances lasted 20+ years. I understand companies wanting to make more money, but to manufacture a product that breaks after 2 years is ridiculous. Let alone the fact that they want you to purchase the extended warranty for repair, but that still costs them money for parts, supplies, gas and the customer's time in having to be available for the 4-hour window for them to come out.

I purchased a gas Frigidaire oven from Lowe's and the electrical panel stopped working after 13 months. Frigidaire gave us a replacement panel but we had to pay $200 for the labor. Prior to the problems with my Frigidaire stove, I also purchased a Frigidaire dishwasher and refrigerator from Lowe's internet site. It took one month for delivery of the dishwasher and three months for the delivery of the refrigerator! After 13 months, the electrical panel stopped working on my dishwasher too! Frigidaire supplied another panel but, of course, I had to pay the labor charges of $200 to have it replaced.
The stove and dishwasher both have the Frigidaire icon in cursive. Needless to say, one month after the panel was replaced on my dishwasher, it is out again. So I am out the cost of the dishwasher and the repair. I spoke with Lowe's customer service department and was told that according to their company policy, I will not get any further assistance from Lowe's despite the acknowledgement that Lowe's sold me two products that seem to have bad electrical boards. I do not use the self-clean option for my Frigidaire stove in fear that it too will fail again.

Our front loader washer was purchased in 2008. The door has rusted along the bottom, as well as the hinges. The rubber gasket is covered in mold and the door now leaks. It hasn't shut properly from the time we got it. Also, the door doesn't line up at the bottom.
I contacted Frigidaire via email to see what they suggest as far as replacing the door or repairs. They simply replied that they couldn't offer any assistance, and that was it. I let them know that if they couldn't help me I would no longer purchase Frigidaire products, and I got the same response. I'm not looking for a free washer here, just some help to get this one fixed and keep it operating.

I sure wished I would've known about this website before we purchased these products. We own all three appliances in the SS Frigidaire Professional Series, fridge, range, and dishwasher. Let me just say, buyer beware. We've had them approximately 5 -7 yrs. We've had to replace the heating element in the dishwasher. And recently, something blew after I heated the oven to bake a dish. The breaker blew and nothing on the digital readout panel or the burners or oven would work. I didn't know about the recall on the range until I accessed their website to issue a complaint. I had to have it repaired so I could use it. The cost was $500 plus.
I called them and they told me to fax the repair invoice for possible reimbursement consideration. I did (9/27/11) and waited a few weeks to call back to check on the decision. They couldn't give me any info since they said they never received it, even though I had confirmation that it was received. At that time, I requested the replacement parts to repair the exact problem included in the recall. But in the meantime, they said because they didn't receive my initial fax, they gave me a new number. I refaxed the invoice again to another number on 10/25 and waited until today (11/18) to call and check again.
Initially, I was told the fax wasn't received again until I insisted it had already been faxed twice and to a new number the second time. Suddenly, it was found and the decision to reimburse was denied justified because it wasn't directly included in the recall. Never mind, they should stand behind their product that blew a breaker at the time it failed. It’s clearly dangerous to have done that. I’m not happy with their decision. I will do better research when purchasing appliances in the future. There is no such thing as a reliable appliance with Frigidaire and they don't stand behind their product.

Today was the 2nd time my microwave has been repaired since purchasing it in 2008. We also purchased a dishwasher and a smooth top slide in range. The door on the range has a stain in between the glass and can't get it out. The warming drawer door will not close properly unless you pick it up and then push. The dishwasher has leaked water and moisture is coming from the top and ruining my counter. The digital board went out on it also. My microwave has been the worst as this is the second repair and it’s still not fixed and will not be fixed until after Thanksgiving! These appliances are all the Frigidaire professional series bought from HHGregg. I will never buy another Frigidaire product nor anything manufactured by Electrolux. Unsatisfactory appliances not worth the money you pay for them. Warning: If you purchase them, get ready for problems. I've had repairmen tell me that Frigidaire products are full of service repairs!
To this day since November 1, 2011, I still don't have a microwave. It took me 4-1/2 hours just to get hold of someone in the service dept at HHGregg. All of these things are just unacceptable. We have purchased two Frigidaire Professional ranges, and neither will work. The part number is FPEF3081KF. Frigidaire is saying that the problem is the electrical service in this part of the US (Kansas), however, we aren't having any problems with the Frigidaire Gallery, GE, Samsung, or Whirlpool appliances in this same small development. Supposedly Frigidaire is replacing one range (with what knows what), and says the other doesn't qualify because it's not a manufacturing defect.
I can't follow the logic there, since neither one will work. I guess Kansas must be the equivalent of a third world country and we just shouldn't expect to be able to buy appliances and actually have them work. Another Frigidaire representative says that replacement power supplies are being engineered, and they should be available in a few weeks. In the meantime, two military families are living without being able to cook. If you want logical and caring customer service, don't buy a Frigidaire. Frigidaire thinks it's okay for people to wait weeks for repairs.

My daughter called a licensed repairman who came back three times, replacing the heating element and some type of circuit board. Within a few weeks, the oven stopped working again. Every now and then it would suddenly start working again, but eventually catch on fire. My daughter's husband has installed new heating elements twice, (they couldn't afford to keep calling a repairman) but the oven and stovetop worked for a while, go out, work again and then the element catches on fire. Never a good time to have an oven quit on you, since it was Oct 31, 2009, and I had a house full of family that had traveled a long way to visit, for a family reunion.
On November 2, 2009, a local repairman ordered the clock (what he called it), and replaced it for $350. Two weeks later, the F1 came back on. It happens off and on, for about a month or two, until this summer. Now, it is doing it a lot, so I guess it is getting ready to tear up completely again. This time, I contacted Frigidaire, and received no satisfaction at all. I left a customer survey that none of my questions had been answered. Like, can you tell me if there is a defect in your product, and if so, is it now taken care of? I might try it again. My husband even emailed the CEO of Electrolux and Lowes. I just got a call back, same woman's voice from the Philippines. She asked all the questions she did before. I explained this was twice for the same problem.
She put me on hold, then came back, and said that there was nothing more that they could offer me. Maybe she is not good at English (I know I am not either, and I was born in the USA), but she could not offer me "more" since she had not offered me anything to begin with. The serial # is VF34956524, and the model # is FEF357BBB. The part that I ordered, and had replaced (the clock) was #316207529, and the overlay, the pretty part when the clock is replaced, is damaged (316220805).
I will also add, I purchased a refrigerator at the same time I purchased the stove in 2004. Every last shelf has broken. We repair it with that epoxy tube glue, the green on the outside and white in the middle, cut off a piece and knead it together until it turns white. Nancy, you complained of this too, that does a pretty good job holding. Just recently, the refrigerator has suddenly started running colder, and freezing up some stuff, like my lettuce.
Guess it is going bad too. I know I purchased it in 2004, but heck I am used to stuff lasting. By the way, I am a big cook, and gardener. I am fixing up another kitchen in the basement for canning, and was going to purchase a new store, and refrigerator down there too. I can promise it won't be Frigidaire for Electrolux.

I purchased a wall oven May 23, 2009. Well, this weekend, the top oven door nearly came off in my hands. The hinge plates came completely out of the wall of the oven almost like the heat melted the metal and it just came off. The insulation is now visible. I called the 800 number and was told that they would send me the parts for free even though it was out of warranty 3 months. I would of course have to pay to have the parts installed. I asked if there were more complaints about this unit and was told she couldn't divulge that information. I will fight this to the end. I want a new oven. This is definitely a manufacturer defect. I refuse to pay for labor, parts or anything else for this product. How can this company stay in business? I checked the recall list and can't find any information and I can't find any information on the parts that I was told I would need.

I bought a Frigidaire air conditioner from Badcock Furniture Store two years ago to replace an air conditioner I had for 23 years and it stopped blowing cold air two days ago. I called the Frigidaire company after reading the manual troubleshooting guide only to find out that I have to replace it and after I provide them with the exact date of purchase, serial number of the unit then maybe they can give me a rebate on another air conditioner. No brand new air conditioner should quit working after only two years. I will never buy this brand again!

I purchased a home with the appliances included so I am not the original owner. However, after cooking a meal in my oven I hit the clear/cancel button on the display to shut off the oven. I noticed that the heating element was still hot/glowing red but I figured it was still cooling down. After I finished my meal I heard the oven beeping and it was displaying an F1 error. According to the owner's manual the solution is to hit the clear/cancel button. This did in fact clear the error and stop the beeping but the oven never shut off and continued heating. At this point smoke is starting to fill the air (slowly). The only remedy I had was to throw the breaker that the stove is on.
After about an hour I threw the breaker back on and the display only showed the time needing to be set and no indication that the oven was still on. Again, the oven heating element continued to heat...on its own! I contacted both the Sears and Frigidaire recall hotlines to inquire about the particular serial number since it was in the range of the recall. I was told that my unit was not included in the recall and to call Electrolux who manufactured the unit which of course was closed. I am awaiting open office hours to call Electrolux. Major Fire Hazard had I not been home to hear the beeping on the oven.

I have a Frigidaire PureSource2 Filter. For the past 18 months, I have been replaced my PureSource 2 filter at least 7 times due to extreme leaking around the seal. Filters have lasted only 21 days to 5 months. These filters run about $40. Lowe's returns center reports they consistently receive the filters back and estimate they have returned around 500 units. They also quit carrying the refrigerator that requires this filter due to the volume of returns. I have googled the problem and see many other customers have had the same issue but the manufacturer blames the customer or the customers' water pressure. I have issued a complaint with the company with no response.

We purchased a new home in December 2009. We were so excited to buy Frigidaire stainless steel appliances (fridge, micro, dishwasher, oven/range) for our new kitchen. Well now (July, 2010), three of our four appliances are in need of repair and Frigidaire is a nightmare to deal with. They clearly are not about customer satisfaction. We have been without a microwave for a month now, our dishwasher had ratings for being super quiet which is now louder than ever, our icemaker on our freezer over makes ice which supposedly needs a part to stop it, and we are just waiting for our stove/range to break too. They are supposed to be under Frigidaire warranty for 12 months, but the techs they use are horrible and don't communicate with you and have to make several trips to your home which causes bigger frustrations.
These local companies also make you wait to come out, mislead you on what is wrong with your appliance, don't call or try to set up future appointments for further repair, etc. I have spent about 5 hours on the phone with customer service and they are giving me 100.00 check for my frustration. Isn't that a joke? Several thousand spent on Frigidaire appliances and seven months later, there are issues with three out of four appliances! My husband and I would never purchase Frigidaire/Electrolux Appliances again. Put your money towards a different, more reputable brand so you don't have the same experience we had! Hope this helps! Don't buy anything Frigidaire, they are horrible about customer service & repairs for appliances still under warranty!

After spending over $6K on what needed for my kitchen, I have had no cook top due to non/compliance with Frigidaire employees. It is well over a month now, since I had to have gas shut off due to faulty part on cook top, discovered by leaking gas fumes into my home. This lead to having a plumber "back" to now shut off the gas, only to return when and if I ever get this part. The part, after much talk via the Apollo Service company, was said to have been shipped last Friday (overnight), not here. Please also be aware that when Apollo called with all my information, I was told they had no record of my purchase via Sam's Appliance store and therefore had to submit a "new" order in order to obtain the part I need (a valve, plastic of some sort). I mean no offense, but was also told "English" was not the primary spoken and difficult to understand either way.
From the time I purchased up unto now, it has been almost a month of no cooking. I think this is beyond unfit customer service and would now like to return all that I have purchased because of it. Time lost, no cooking, plumber(s) and food spoiled because I could not cook as well as moneys spent on take-out all this time, to me is a major expense. With "no" cooperation from Frigidaire, my money I thought was the same color as the company's! Expenses as well as utter dissatisfaction and disappointment with a product I once trusted and had faith in.

Five years ago, my husband bought a Frigidaire refrigerator, stove/oven, and microwave as a set from a used appliance store. He bought the new-but-used-for-display models and the extend warranties, which were good for a few years. We've been together only 4 years, so he had these when I met him and therefore I don't know *exact* details on the purchases themselves. However, I do know the microwave went out two years ago and we had to replace it. We replaced it with a cheapie one from Wal-Mart, which has last us the past two years or so but just went out Thursday. But it didn't cost as much, so we got our money’s worth out of that one!
In February, the Frigidaire Galler Series side by side we had just stopped working in the middle of the night one night. We leave for work early and usually have breakfast on the go or skip it altogether. It was also Friday/payday, which meant pizza night. We literally didn't use the fridge for around 24 hours. I opened the fridge Saturday morning to make breakfast and our brand new gallon of milk was soured. The fridge STANK of soured milk and spoiled food. We found out the compressor went out and the fan was no longer working. After reading reviews on repairing it and talking to repairmen, we decided to just wait (two weeks with 2 kids and no fridge, yikes!) until our tax return came in and buy a new fridge. We avoided Frigidaire! I refused to have another Frigidaire after that. It was less than 5 years old and already out.
To top it all off, the range (model #FEF316BSD) that is also only 5 years old, well, I've had occasional problems with it in the past year (oven popping, one particular section of the heating element burning brightly and "sizzling", burners on the stove not heating at all or getting overly hot and turning bright red). Tonight, I turned in on at 425 to cook garlic bread. The oven had been on less than 5 minutes when we heard a loud popping and saw a bright flash come from the kitchen. Of course, I run in there to turn the oven off and open the door. About an inch long section of the heating element had melted halfway through and dripped on the bottom of the oven, melting that area some also. Once I turned the oven off, it still didn't 'fizzle out' right away. I had to unplug the unit and open the door to the oven and it took a good 5 minutes for the burning white light to run out of oomph! I was honestly getting scared and about to go for the fire extinguisher!
Of course, we can't even TRY to use the warranty, since it's been 5 years and it was only a 3 or 4 year warranty. We tried that in Feb. with the fridge and they said our warranties were up. Right now, we don’t have the money to drop on an unexpected expense like this and are just going to have to see if we can get a new heating element and replace it ourselves and pray that works, or see if we can find a cheap good used on until we can save up for a better one. Either way, we're going to be without for a few days. Which means several days of fixing kids sandwiches for dinner or wasting money eating out?Needless to say, after having a Frigidaire: microwave, side-by-side fridge/freezer. And ovens all mess up with 2 years (being 3 to 5 years old at the time!) I will never buy another Frigidaire. When the salesman who sold us our new fridge recommended them, boy did he get an earful on why his company should not be pushing their products! But at least with the fridge, it was bad but not dangerous. This though, I refuse to even have this oven plugged in right now for fear of something happening. This is a hazard to my husband, our children, our pets, and our home. That is just too much to risk!

I contacted Frigidaire and they refused to replace the unit until I had a series of visits. I had no choice but to have 7 service calls over a 2-month period and each time I had to take a minimum of 3 hours off work.
Finally they replaced the refrigerator but the replacement has the same problem as well as other problems. Frigidaire is now refusing to refund my money or exchange the refrigerator until I have a minimum of 2 service calls and the unit is deemed unfixable. I have called twice and asked to speak to a supervisor.
Each time I am told no one is available and they refuse to give me a name or direct number of someone who can address my problem. I also bought a Frigidaire dishwasher, microwave and slide-in gas stove. None of the appliances perform adequately given the $4,000+ we spent. Never again will I purchase Frigidaire products. I purchased a Frigidaire on April 4, 200707; model's manufacture date was 2006. I ran the unit for exactly two years, unplugging it (after cleaning out), in April 2009. This unit remained, unplugged, until I recently plugged it in and the compressor would not run, hence the refrigerator would not cool-down.
I just phoned "Frigidaire/Electrolux Warranty Service". I was asked for the serial number, which I provided. The Service Representative stated: "Well your unit was built in 2006. Had it been built in 2005, your compressor would still be under warranty. But, your unit's compressor was a 2006 model, so it only has a one-year warranty. When I explained that my written warranty stated "5-year warranty on the compressor", the Rep replied: "Well, it's only a year."
Frigidaire was apparently bought out by Electrolux, as almost a year ago I was told that Frigidaire filed for Chapter 11 protection, under Federal Law, from their creditors. I have not confirmed this. Judging by those posts I've read above, I would recommend that no one buy any Frigidaire product whatsoever, as the economy we now have to endure will not allow your hard-earned money to go down-the-drain, in the way of repair cost.

I purchased a new Stainless Steel Gas Oven on 12/13/08 from Conn's Clearance Center. The salesmen told me it had never been used, only contained minor scratches on the side. I was willing to overlook the scratches because the oven was to be placed inside the wall. I was told to buy a warranty for the oven in case the oven needs repairs or to be replaced. I was anxious to cook Christmas dinner in 2008 with my new oven. When the oven reached its desired temperature, I went to open the oven and flames from the oven rushed to my face.
From my purchase in 2008 until 2009, I called several Conn's repairmen to figure out the problem with the oven and no one could resolve the "Racing Flames" issue. Although the repairmen concluded that the oven was in good condition, each one of my attempts thereafter to use the oven, the fire flames incident will still occur. I was under the impression that Conn's was neglecting the issue about their product Fire Hazard imperfection so I had to lure repairmen to repair my oven with irrelevant problems. I was told that if I keep requesting repair services without any problems to resolve, I would have to start paying $75 for any further non-repairable service.
They then referred me to Frigidaire repair services because that was the company that actually owned my product and it is a possibility they could give me a better solution. Needles to say, two of their service men inspected the wall oven and could not find any solution either. My grandchild and daughter have also experienced the flames racing to their face after they both attempted to use the oven. After these attacks, I decided to disconnect the oven to prevent any future injuries.
Presently, Conn's and Frigidaire do not want to replace their oven because their repairmen couldn't find any problems with my oven and now I am stuck with a hazardous, inconvenient, and useless oven that I have never used. I made my final and last attempt on 01/01/10 to complain on my oven to Conn's in hopes of a discovery before I personally remove the stove from my presence. That repairman discovered gas seeping from the oven and ordered parts for the stove.
A different repairman replaced the parts to the oven. That same repairman had the same rushing flames encounter happen to him as he became scared and complained to Conn's that the fire almost, "burnt his eyebrows off." My daughter actually witnessed this happen to the repairman and can explain everything that took place that day. That is when Conn's finally came to a solution, and agreed to credit my account half the amount of the actual oven's worth. My warranty stated if the product was non-repairable that the company will give a replacement. Well, Conn's refuse to replace my oven because they consider my purchase As Is because I got the oven from their warehouse. I refuse this agreement and renegotiated with Conn's because of their inconsideration to my inconvenience and safety to their Hazardous product.
I am now in mediation with the Consumer Relations Officer because he states that his research is unaware of any service write-ups of fire from my stainless steel oven. I personally have 3 invoices in my presence, but the other invoices are not being fully researched or released. There has to be no organization in Conn's Service Department because the Consumer Relations Officer stated that there was no report given on any repairman startled over flames from my oven. I am truly fed-up and disappointed in Conn's Safety Procedures, Repair Service, and Consumer Relations. I need this ticking bomb out of my possession before my household encounters an explosion or leak. Conn's/Frigidaire Stainless Steel Wall Oven has been inadequate since the day of purchase. My household is clearly in harm's way. I have a past experience with a fire and I was fearful that the product will explode and no one at Conn's would believe me.

We came home from town thank god to smell smoke and found that the heating element in the washer did not shut off. It melted the bottom sprayer where the small fire was and melted all my wife’s dishwasher safe plastic lids to her warming trays. I called Frigidaire went round and round finely said they would cover parts If I had a service man come look at it.
Well a service call where I live is 150.00 then have them come out and tell me it’s probably junk. Then I am out that money. Any way there is a big problem with this M/N if the element keeps running. Approximately 3 years ago, I "upgraded" my old kitchen appliances with a refrigerator, gas stove, microwave and dishwasher. I will never again buy anything with the Frigidaire name on it, never again! Luckily, within a week of purchase, the refrigerator's condenser acted up. The problem was diagnosed by the technician sent out from Best Buy where I purchased the appliances. I refused to get another Frigidaire and exchanged it for another brand.
About a year later (and beyond the factory warranty period), the top-most spray wand of the dishwasher disengaged and it remains stored in a drawer. Being a single guy grill master, I neglected to use the oven for some time. When I did, I noticed mini-explosions taking place when I baked. I finally got a hold of a good appliance repair person who diagnosed the problem as a faulty gas valve so gas was escaping but not properly igniting. Dangerous, you think?! To repair that would cost about $360 but I have no intention of perpetuating the Frigidaire Fiasco in my home.
So now I get to shop and pay for another new stove. Hopefully, next year, I can afford to change out the dishwasher as well. If you're brave enough to go the Frigidaire route, be sure you test absolutely everything over and over again during the warranty period, otherwise, you'll find yourself buying all new appliances in less than 3 years! What a rip-off, not to mention a safety hazard. Just say "No!" to Frigidaire.

The second time, the unit leaked and caused damage to a bedroom carpet and underflooring, as well as below the unit. In addition, the ceiling below the unit has bubbled up due to the leakage. As requested by Electrolux in my claim, I submitted photos, all product purchase receipts and registration information, as well as an estimate of damage. Months later, I received a one paragraph letter from the company stating that I did not have sufficient proof of damage.
Both products at the time of damage were under one year old. I had to take off from work five times in order for repair men to come out and either assess or repair damages. I am not seeking compensation for the dishwasher, as it is operable. However, the washer/dryer unit has caused water damage to my property and I do seek compensation for that. I am disappointed and I will never buy from this company again. About 9 months ago, I bought a side-by-side Galley fridge, glass top range and over-the-range microwave. For the majority of these months, there were issues with the fridge and we were waiting on the repair service. Within the first couple of days, all door shelves on the freezer side and two on the fridge side simply broke off. Two of them were completely empty. I did not pursue this issue although I probably should have. Then the icemaker stopped dropping ice and our ice cream was on the liquid side. The module was replaced but nothing was done for the temperature issue.
A few weeks later, the ice dispenser was dispensing water and vice-versa. I called again. The technician came out and informed us that the water hose in the fridge came loose and fried all circuit boards. This is the reason for the water damage to our downstairs bathroom. He had to order the part and instructed us to not buy large amounts of food due to temperature control issues while the boards were not functional. We waited a couple of months for the new boards to be delivered.
The next issue is our fault although I do not understand why these appliances are not constructed to prevent intrusions like this. A mouse crawled into the fan causing the motor to burn out which in turn melted the water lines in the fridge. This is the reason for our warped hardwood floor. Now what really ticks me off is the oven. It works great. But after 9 months, it does not look too good anymore. Right above the oven door are vents. These vents get extremely dirty. Cleaning them is not easy and so far I have not had very much success. If I had known that my cleaning attempts will cause long unsightly water streaks in the oven door which I cannot get to unless I take the door panels apart, I would have left the yellow goop in the vents! I learned my lesson and left the vents on the microwave alone. It’s not like you can get them clean anyway.

We purchased a Frigidaire dishwasher MODEL PLD2855RFC and smooth top range with convection oven and warming drawer MODEL PLES389ECG back in March 2007 and had them held at the store we purchased them at because we were building a new home. We already owned a Frigidaire stainless side by side, so we bought these appliances to match. They were installed in the new home and first put to use in mid November, for a few dinners before we moved in full time in mid December 07. In March of 2008, the control panel acted up and wouldn’t work. I called and had to work with them because the purchase date was over a year, so I had to prove their install time. That was fine and they sent someone out to replace the panel. There had been no boil over, but the repairman said they had had trouble with the control panels. We had not been using the range for more than 3 months when this happened. It also has those unsightly stains inside the door window. Those happened within the first few months, too.
Then, in September of 2009, our refrigerator began to act up and by October 1, 2009, we found out the evaporator on our three-yr old refrigerator was shot! No one would fix it and to do so was upwards of $500-600! So we had to find a matching appliance, so of course had to buy Frigidaire again, ($1000) but also bought the 4-yr warranty from Lowe’s. Within weeks of this problem, my dishwasher stopped working. Again, another repairman came out, and the motor was shot! So $280 later, I could have bought new for $400 (but already had spent enough on repairs and purchasing the new frig).
Then, a few weeks after that, earlier this month, I was cleaning my range and removed one of the knobs and the piece that sticks out for you to put it back onto, was loose and would just push into the control panel. So I called, spent hours on the phone with people you could hardly understand, but one nice gentleman ordered me the replacement part for no charge. But then he told me I’d have to pay to have it installed because the warranty expired. I thanked him for the free part (which has still not arrived) but then said I want to complain to someone "higher up." He gave me another number and finally calling a third time, I got someone who spoke good English. She looked up what all I told them already, and then said the best she could do was offer me a rebate of 60% off the purchase of a new range!
What? Are you kidding me? First of all, I just bought a new refrigerator and have my dishwasher repaired. I don’t have the money to buy a $1500-$2000 range and then wait for you to reimburse me, let alone I don’t want another one of your appliances! And when the rebate offer arrived, they weren’t giving me 6 months or a year to buy a new range; it’s only good till January 10, 2010! I could buy one this time of year if I wanted to! This has been very frustrating to say the least. We had owned Frigidaire products in the past, so I thought these would be good, long lasting items as well. We are extremely disappointed and will never buy another product of theirs again!

After many years of cooking in a cramped galley kitchen (I am a baker and make many wedding cakes and other specialty cakes), we decided to add on to our house with a new 12x20 addition for a new state of the art kitchen. I purchased a Frigidaire range, combination convection and regular oven with warming tray and smooth top. I bought this at the end of May 2005 and it was not cheap, around $1,200.00. It was held in the warehouse until contractors were ready to install in early November of 2005. It took this long due to many problems with delays and other problems that are too numerous to mention.
When the contractors installed it, it was missing a leveling leg and parts for the warming tray. There were no rollers on one side and the metal sheeting, covering the top of the warming tray was just hanging down (not secured in anyway). I can't remember what else was missing. It took some doing, but it got repaired at no charge. I do not know if it came from the factory this way or was cannibalized for parts in the seller's warehouse. I now suspect it came from the factory that way. The design is poor. Shortly after I purchased this, a pot of potatoes boiled over and went done vent holes in front of the oven, staining the inside of the glass doors. It is very unsightly. When asked about cleaning this, I was told by the company I purchased this from that it would be a pricy service call ~$100.00. So it still looks horrible.
My second experience with Frigidaire was this Spring 2009. I needed a new dehumidifier for my basement. I went to Lowe's and purchased a Frigidaire 70 pint for around $265.00. Not exactly cheap! I took it home, plugged it in and the next morning, my carpet was wet where it had overflowed. I read the manual and then re-read the manual and tried everything I could and even called the help number. It continued to overflow and soak my carpet. I finally returned it to Lowe's and they replaced it with another, the same make and model. The same thing happened. So I would only run it for 4 hours at a time as I was sick of the wet carpet.
I also took this one back and after arguing with Lowe's, they finally gave me my money back. I then went to another store and purchased another model and it has been working fine. Obviously, the Frigidaire model was defective, which makes me think it was probably made with defective components made in China or some other third world country with no quality control. Now a couple of months later, I got a letter from Frigidaire that my $1,200 stove I purchased in 2005 is being recalled for a fire hazard. I have been waiting for two months for the repair service to come and replace the defective part as we do not dare leave it plugged in. This service has been scheduled three times and cancelled three times.
I was on the phone so many times with Frigidaire that I've lost count. I have been transferred from one department to another and no one there seems to know what the other department is doing. Now that we are on a first name basis and the word is getting out, the last few times I've called someone actually sort of knew what was going on. I was told the parts were backordered until November 1st. When I told one customer service person that Thanksgiving was coming and it would be nice to cook a turkey, they just laughed. Now I am told parts will ship directly to me and I must call to make arrangements for repair when received.
Now thank God my husband is retired and can be available all day to wait until someone shows up, but if he were still working too, that would be four days one of us would have had to miss work as we were told anywhere from 8AM to 5PM to be home and available for repairman. Eventually, I suppose I will get it fixed, but after looking on your website and seeing other Frigidaire products being recalled too for fire hazards like washers and dryers, I know that you can't make a decent product and I will never purchase your brand again. I hope moving all those manufacturing jobs to third world countries to save a buck has paid off for you. Not only have you put Americans out of work, you have jeopardized their safety with defective parts.
This country used to pride itself on quality goods, with our quality circles and other quality related programs. It gave the public confidence in a safe, dependable, reliable product. In my mind, you have destroyed that ideal. Corporate greed will be the ruination of this country. We already have a very good start.

We completely remodeled our home in 2006-2007 and purchased all matching Frigidaire kitchen and laundry appliances, all but one item (our range hood) from Lowe's. To date, we have had repairs and breakdowns of every single product. Most seriously, our front loading washer/dryer combo is an unbelievably poor appliance. The dryer, model number LEQ1442ESO, catches clothing on the lint trap and ruins straps, ties and tears clothes. It overheats regularly and leaves scorch marks on fabric or cuts off and doesn't dry at all. The case for the control panel at the top broke right after the warranty expired and has now detached completely from the machine and dangles by the wires.
Most of the dryer cycles do not work and even before the control panel detached, all the lights blink and the machine beeps insanely and repeatedly whether the machine is drying or not. The only solution is to unplug the machine. We have had to have the machine serviced on multiple occasions for excessive lint buildup. The overheating is so serious, we check and clean the machine regularly and have pulled it away from the wall to prevent a fire hazard. The matching Frigidaire washer is also a serious problem. Water damage from an interior leak has destroyed the barcode sticker, so I am no longer able to read the model and serial numbers.
Lowe's was not accommodating in helping us recover the model information. The washer filter gets clogged repeatedly and the drum retains water. The drain/rinse cycle does not work. The gasket leaked inside the door leading to a truly impressive display of rust on the washer door. The hinges are completely rusted at the bottom of the door, plus the door does not close by itself any longer and must be forced shut. The bottom panel beneath the door is completely rusted out. The first time I noticed the door sticking due to the rust was when the plastic door handle snapped off in my hands under normal opening pressure. I now have to pry the door open with a screwdriver. As if this is not enough, the washer does not clean clothes properly and my whites never get white. Although I have yet to notice the mold problems mentioned by other consumers, I see the potential because the gasket does not drain properly and retains water between cycles. I always clean it out.
Frigidaire stainless dishwasher, model FDB1500LFCO. The dishwasher has required multiple repairs. The spray arm becomes loose or dislodged and falls against the element, which then melts it requiring a replacement part. Filter is not effective and dirty water backs up inside the machine and leaks out the front. The dishwasher does not clean the dishes effectively even using premium products and rinse agent - glasses are regularly cloudy. We do not have hard water. Most importantly, the dishwasher chips and breaks plates/bowls and scratches cookware even when sparsely loaded. I have never owned a dishwasher that broke plates even occasionally and I currently have a 12-piece table setting that is more than 80% chipped. I will not purchase new plates while I still own this washer for fear of more expensive damage. Stainless cover shows excessive scratching. All I use is wipes or a soft sponge.
Frigidaire side-by-side stainless refrigerator model number FRS6LC8FS2. The plastic shelves chip, scratch and crack under light cleaning. The fan motor is unbelievably loud and the ice machine whines and grumbles. The door handles will not hold flush to door even when adjusted. In-door water/ice dispensers are clouded and scratched after only 2 years of use. Stainless door panels show excessive wear after minimal use and light cleaning. Poor finish.
Frigidaire ceramic top range model FEFL796CA. Vented heat from inside stove has permanently discolored stainless control panel at the top left. Vents at the top of the stove door do not prevent spilled fluid from entering sealed area between double glass fronts, resulting in unsightly drip marks we are unable to remove. The drawer slides on bottom, oven drawer broken and non-functional. Both stainless and paint finishes are unacceptable. 2 years of wear should not be enough to chip the paint and show scratches on the stainless areas.
I will estimate we spent $1,800 on our refrigerator, $600 on our range, $300 on our dishwasher and $700 on our washer/dryer combo. This is a grand total of approximately $3,400 on Frigidaire appliances, none of which work properly or look aesthetically pleasing at the three year mark. We are extremely disappointed and will never purchase Frigidaire/Electrolux appliances ever again! No satisfaction from the company, no help from Lowe's, only endless repairs and expensive parts. We estimate we've spent about an additional $500.00 on repairs and laundromat expenses so far. We are unable to replace our washer/dryer at this time and that is our most crucial complaint. Please help us.

I was just surfing the web to see what was wrong with my Frigidaire Stainless Side-by-Side refrigerator. We discovered a flood in the fruit cellar which is directly below my totally remodeled kitchen with the complete set of the stainless Gallery series appliances (which are now 4 yrs old - but that's still new to me). The refrigerator is leaking - big time - from the back or underneath. I shut the water supply off and got out the wet vac for the basement. My new Pergo is a little warped under the fridge. Most of the water went down the foundation wall.
Anyway, I stumbled upon this site and know what I have to look forward to. The refrigerator flood thing just happened so I don't know what the cost to repair will be. But as I am reading all the Frigidaire complaints, I just remembered we already had to replace the overhead microwave. It kind of exploded inside when I was warming up my coffee. I thought I just blew a fuse - well I did blow a fuse and my Frigidaire microwave. I forgot what they told us when we brought it to the service except it was done for. We found a GE microwave that blended in with the appliances. I looked it up online and that model of microwave had a defect (not a factory defect - Electrolux can't admit any responsibility), but the microwave was known for doing what it did.
I never gave it a second thought because we liked the new GE microwave 100% more. It is so much easier to use and we got it on sale for around $350. Okay, we can handle a microwave replacement cost ... but a refrigerator, dishwasher and a range? My appliances were out of warranty so I didn't bother to look at the Limited Warranty Electrolux offers until now. If I were still under warranty, anything I would need fixed or replaced is listed in their exclusion clause - my Pergo floor would be excluded, any ruined food in the refrigerator. They even exclude rust on the inside or outside of the unit. Every legitimate complaint I have read on this website is covered by an exclusion in the warranty.
It's too bad a good company has sunk so low. The over 50 crowd is buying Frigidaire because we think that's what we are getting. We are not. The real Frigidaire has gone away and it is a cheap imitation of the former company. They can't hurt so many people and continue to thrive.

We have been having problems with our Frigidaire dryer since day one. Anything and everything with straps and pull strings, and even towels, are getting caught in the space around the barrel of the dryer near the lint trap. The other issue started about two months ago. The lights on the front of the dryer flash and beep randomly. Sometimes this happens while the dryer is running and sometimes it does it when I have it off and no clothes at all in the dryer. I tried to find a solution in the manual. All I could determine is that maybe the lint is clogging up somewhere. We pulled the dryer out and there was a bit of lint that had accumulated inside the dryer, so we completely cleaned it out including our vent in the house. We are still having the same issue no changes at all.
I contacted Frigidaire by email and advised them of these issues. Their response is the following: “I am sorry to hear of your difficulty. We here at Electrolux strive for quality and customer satisfaction. While I can not guarantee that every unit will be problem free, I can assure you that this is a rare thing that you are experiencing. I recommend you contact an authorized service company to evaluate and to correct the problem. You can locate one by looking in your local yellow pages or by calling my customer care center at 1-800-374-4432.”
Of course, the dryer is no longer under warranty as we purchased it in January 2008. I really don't understand how a repairman could fix what I would consider a manufacturing error. To date, we are still pulling our garments out the space around the barrel and I am ignoring the beeping on the front of the dryer. I was hoping for a resolution from Frigidaire, but from the email response above, they do not feel they are responsible. What are consumers to do?

My mom bought a Frigidaire about three years ago, FRS6HF55KM model, and it’s a piece of crap! The adjustable door bins are **! They don't hold much. We put a gallon of milk on one of the bins and the whole bins just completely fell down and the little handles broke off. So I called the warranty department at Lowe's and they came out and said that they can’t do anything about it because it is an accessory for the fridge and the warranty doesn't cover that. So now I have two broken bins that I can’t use and all the other bins have cracks around the little handles and they will break any day now and I don't even store much stuff on them; just a few salad dressings.
But that’s not the only problem we have with the fridge. There are cracks all over the inside of the fridge and freezer. It looks like the fridge is falling apart. The cracks are all on the side of the walls. Some are so big that you could see right through. I called several times to the warranty department and they sent repair guys out, but they did nothing but put some kind of glue on them. But more cracks form and the other ones are getting bigger and they won’t do anything else because they say it’s cosmetic damage even if I could see inside the fridge. They told me I just have to deal with it because they aren’t going to do anything more for it.
Don’t buy Frigidaire or the extended warranty from Lowe's because they don't cover anything. Lowe's will tell you that they cover everything, even normal wear and tear you cause. All they want is to rip people off that don't have much money to begin with. I can’t believe that with all the technology that's out there right now, that a company can't make a fridge last for no more than a couple years. All these companies don't care about people; all they want is for us to spend more money so that's way they make crappy appliances.

On September 4, 2009, I went to turn the oven on my 2005 Professional Series Frigidaire smoothtop stove. Sparks and flames began shooting out of the electrical console. I am 6 and a half months pregnant and immediately grabbed my 3-year old daughter and removed her from the room. My husband pulled the stove from the wall and beat the flames out. We have been without a stove since this occurred and we have been fighting with both Frigidaire and Sears to get someone to come service the stove. Sears has been reluctant to send someone to fix the stove because it is a manufacturer's defect. Frigidaire wants to pass responsibility to Sears. What this has meant for us is that we don't have a working/safe stove and that we are at the mercy of service repair people and their busy schedules. On Monday, the 21st, I received a call from Sears at 10:30 am. The message said someone would be out at 11:30 to check out the stove. Since we both work, I received the message at 4 pm. No fix for the stove. A similar scenario replayed itself today.

This was when I found out about the recall. I called the Recall Help Line to set up service. They cannot service the pop issue until they fix the burners. I was told parts would be sent to my house? Service was set up for Labor Day, Saturday, from 12-5. There were no calls until 2 pm, when I was told that since no parts came, there would be no service. I have had no stove/oven for 10 days and I emailed Frigidaire yesterday. There is no response yet. Obviously these are a huge hazard.

We replaced our kitchen appliances with Frigidaire. Since we bought them, both the refrigerator and stove have given us headaches and reading all the complaints here, I understand that we are not alone. The ice maker in our freezer has never worked right and they have repaired it several times. They couldn't figure out why it was flooding my kitchen with water, but I did. The ice maker will not automatically shut off so when there is no more room, the water shooting into the ice trays has nowhere to go and somehow runs out on the ice distribution area on the front of the fridge and floods my kitchen.
The stove has always been inconsistent. Items on low and left to cook (spaghetti sauce, soup, chilli) boil. They cannot be left to cook on the stove. The oven burns items on the bottom (I have to put a pan or tin foil in between the bottom heat element and food to avoid burns) and if I use the convection, you can see where one half of something is done where the other half still needs to cook. But the scariest thing for us is how extremely hot the oven gets on its exterior. I have burnt my arms, hands and abdomen because of the extreme heat on the outside of the stove. Whether it is because the seal is non-existent or something else, I don't know. But my children have burnt their hands and that burns me!
I will never buy Frigidaire or Electrolux products again. Calling to discuss anything with them, you get a foreigner that you can barely understand and who cannot really help you. If you get a repairman to the house and the problem doesn't replicate while he's there, you are sol. Now my microwave has started, on occasion, giving an electrical pop when I turn it on. It isn't all the time, but it is scary and sounds so dangerous. If and when I can find a job, the first thing that will go is the stove!

Originally, I went to the ConsumerAffairs.com website to file a complaint because the condenser in my Frigidaire refrigerator went bad after 5 years and 2 months, which was, of course, 2 months after the warranty ran out. Customer service offered to pay for the part, but I was going to have to cover the labor, which was going to run for $320. A refrigerator is a major appliance purchase and my thoughts were that all consumers expect major appliances to last much longer than 5 years.
I ran across the link on ConsumerAffairs.com for Chris **, the Escalation Specialist for Electrolux suggesting that consumers should contact him and give him the opportunity to look into any issues that had occurred. Before filing a complaint, I decided obviously that I had not tried everything and maybe the right thing to do would be to contact Mr. **. He responded to my email immediately and offered me a couple of different solutions. I opted to have my refrigerator repaired and it is working as good as new. Electrolux paid for the labor and the part.
I couldn't be happier with the service and the solution I received from Chris **. I had tried on my own to find the name of someone in charge at Electrolux, but to no avail, so thanks to your website for making all this information available to consumers and thanks also to Electrolux and Chris **.

I have a Frigidaire refrigerator and dishwasher that I purchased 4 months ago. I have been experiencing problems with both appliances.
Problem #1 Refrigerator: The ice maker in the refrigerator is grinding up and spitting out slivers of white plastic into the ice, both cubes and crushed ice. The dangerous thing is that you cannot see the plastic in the ice until the cubes or crushed ice melts. Then you see lots of white plastic shavings floating in the melted ice (water).
Problem #2 Dishwasher: The door to the dishwasher when lowered is hanging too low. It seems as if when the lower rack is loaded with dishes, and the weight is on the lowered door, you feel like the dish rack is going to roll out or the door is going to break off.
I made a call to the customer service department on Monday, August 3; and I was given a phone number for an authorized service center. I called the number given to me 5 times over the next two days. I never got an answer. I left messages but never got a return call. So on Wednesday, August 5, I called Frigidaire again. I explained to them that there was no answer with the company that they gave me. They gave me another company to contact. I contacted the second company, Milton Services. I was told by them that they do not service my area. So, I once again contacted Frigidaire. I was told that they would have someone from their escalation specialist department give me a call back within 24 hours.
On Thursday, August 6, I received a call from Jennifer, escalation specialist. I was told by her that she had me scheduled for a service call with A & E Service and the first available date was Monday, August 10, sometime from 8am to 5pm. I took off work Monday, waiting for service. I received a call from A & E services at 12:07pm, and I called them back within 10 minutes. I was told by them that because I didn't answer the phone that they wouldn't be able to come for service that day and that they would have to reschedule me for later in the week. I had already taken off from work and I feel like it is unreasonable for them to say that if I don't answer the phone, they wouldn't be able to come. This was even though I called them back within 10 minutes from the time they called me. It didn't matter.
So, I once again had to call Frigidaire back and explain the situation to them. I asked them if there isn't any way they can have someone service it, after all I did have an appointment for then and I had taken off work. She said they couldn't come that day, but she would reschedule me for the next day, which was today, August 11. I once again took off from work to make sure I was here for the service technicians to work on the appliances. I got a call from A & E at 9am this morning wanting to schedule me for one day this week. I explained to them that I was supposed to have an appointment for today. They said they didn't have me scheduled, despite the fact that I had a confirmed appointment from the Frigidaire customer representative that I had spoken to on Monday, August 10.
Again, they didn't show up; and I have taken two days off from work and still have gotten nowhere in regards to having my appliances repaired. As of my last conversation with Jennifer of Frigidaire a few hours ago, I was told to contact their service provider for service; and that is all they could do. She said to make sure I answer the phone and that they were not responsible if they couldn't reach me. I felt that was a very unfair statement for her to make, considering I have taken off from work two days and still haven't gotten the service that I was promised.

We paid good money for a brand new Frigidaire stainless steel fridge, stove and microwave combo in December 2006 at Rex Appliance in Watertown, NY. It was our (my wife and I) Christmas gift to each other. The refrigerator has already gone up. We paid $59.00 plus tax for a service call to tell us that the compressor has gone up and that it will be between $500 to $600 parts and labor to fix it, not to mention over $100 in food gone bad. I am very disappointed in the lack of quality in Frigidaire. Our refrigerators in the past have lasted well over 20 years. Some more then 30-plus. We have had this Frigidaire for 2-plus years and now we have to go out and spend a minimum of over $1350.00 to replace it with another stainless steel fridge (in another brand ) to match our other appliances.
This is very costly and no one should have worry about this with a refrigerator this new. In or out of warranty, no new refrigerator should have that short of a lifespan. We will definitely not be buying anything Frigidaire or Electrolux again. I would appreciate it if Frigidaire would cover these expenses of the repair parts and labor and spoiled food for us, in which case I may consider purchasing Frigidaire or Electrolux again in the future. On January 10, 2009, we purchased a Frigidaire Freezer, Model LFFI14F5HWC -Serial WB84817319 and also purchased the additional 4-year protection plan from the Lowe’s store in Florence, KY. The freezer was delivered on January 12,2009. Around April 15th, 2009, it started making a grinding noise and ran constantly. On Monday, April 27, we called for service and were told that they would get back to us 2 days later to set up an appointment. After calling back a few times, an appointment was set up for Thursday, April 30th. When the repairman from Central Service came, he said the freezer needed a new fan and that he had seen others of this model that had to have the fans replaced. The part was not in stock and would have to be ordered. The freezer was making so much noise and was running constantly, so we unplugged it and were fortunate enough to be able to transfer the contents elsewhere. Since the freezer was only 3 months old, we felt like waiting for the fan was an unnecessary inconvenience - so my husband went to the Florence store and was referred to an assistant manager - Sue **.
She more or less told us it was our tough luck that these things happen. We felt like the freezer should have been replaced since we no longer feel secure about its performance. The Central Service Man did return on May 12th and replaced the fan so actually we were without the freezer for 11 days. The service representative that was contacted for service assured us that any loss of contents would be reimbursed, but that's not always possible since a lot of the food was frozen from the garden and is irreplaceable. In all our years of dealing with appliance services, we have never been told that we would have to wait 2 days to make an appointment.
We shared our experience with one of our friends, and they had a similar experience with a refrigerator they had purchased from Sears. When they called for service, Sears brought them a new refrigerator and exchanged it the very next day - so I guess I know where we'll be going the next time we need a new appliance and will also advise our friends & family to do the same.

We had our home built by Beard Builders in 2004. We picked Frigidaire appliances for our new home, which was completed Nov. 2004. I have had a problem with both the microwave and the dishwasher. The microwave had a little paper "card" covering a hole on the side of the microwave that kept sparking and burning. I finally slipped it out of the two little inserts to prevent a fire. As for the dishwasher, during this last year I noticed we had trouble getting the dishwasher to accept our wash selection. We had to go to the breaker box and turn it off for a few seconds. This would reset the computer and would then accept our wash selection. Last night, I turned on the dishwasher and went to bed. At 4:30 this morning I awoke to the strong smell of plastic burning. I checked the dishwasher and found everything plastic, even the cups on the top shelf, had melted! It was still on and very hot. The heating element had not turned off. I had to turn it off by the breaker. It melted the end off of the plastic "rotating, water distribution" part. I was wondering if there was a recall on these appliances that I haven't heard about?

I have read all the complaints and have to say I wonder now if calling the company is just even needed. Sad! I paid $1,000.00 for the darn thing and to have this problem is ridiculous! Most companies have a lifetime rust warranty on their appliances and given my washer and dryer are not of the same brand, Maytag, which has a Lifetime warranty on all their appliances for a rust issue. It says to me that they stand behind their product. Just a note, in the recent weeks I have been advised to write a formal letter of complaint, send it to both Frigidaire and the State Attorney General's office for the state it was manufactured in and your home state for any type of result. They are only 2 years old. I can't afford to fix them or buy new ones. It looks like I shouldn't put in money into them after reading all of the problems other people have had. What a rip off!

We built our home in 2000 and decided to use all Frigidaire appliances. I loved the Frigidaire stove and decided to use the same brand throughout the home. We began having problems with the appliances except for the stove almost immediately. However, this was the second stove; we had to return the first because it did not work. We had service done on all items, and the same problem started within a few months. Our dishwasher stopped working. The refrigerator is always leaking. The dryer goes out frequently and leaves burn marks on the clothes. We will never buy Frigidaire again, and we are remodeling, so we plan to replace all appliances within a year.

I purchased 4 appliances from Specialty Appliance, LLC in Myrtle Beach, S. C. for our condo. We have had problems with 3 of the 4. Refrigerator was delivered with attempted repair of freezer door. Rust forming on new stove oven door. Paint flaking off inside microwave. Specialty Appliance replaced the freezer door, replaced the rusting part on the oven door, while doing that he cracked another area on the oven door, told me that it was defective paint inside the microwave and would replace the microwave. Received a call from them that Frigidaire would not replace the microwave but would sand and repaint. I said that was unacceptable. They said take it up with Frigidaire. I called them.
Took information, said they would get back to me in 72 hrs. Never heard from them, called them on Oct.22,2008. Was not cooperative, said they would not replace microwave, when I asked to have that put in writing/email etc. was told THEY COULD NOT DO THAT! I kept asking to be connected with someone above them, was told manager was on another line. I kept insisting to speak with top management, (also each person I spoke with would not give me their last name) Finally, was connected to Lawrence who did give me his last name: **, customer service supervisor. Said he could not send me any written notice that they would not replace the microwave. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!

Purchased Frigidaire double built-in gas oven, model # FGB24T3ESB, on 12/27/2006, from local Sears store, & paid to have it installed. It did not seem to be leveled properly and the door on oven did not always want to open just right. I noticed, but I thought I could get my husband to just re-level it maybe! Well, before I could say something to him about it, it got much worse. Then one day, the door just fell off all together! When I put the door back over the hinges, it seemed to work better, so we thought maybe the guys had just not took the time to get it on good--they had been in a real hurry that day!
But it didn't take long till I started having the same old problem again with it hanging! It was like getting a work-out everytime I cooked!! I have a disability- Ankylosing Spondilitis-so any pulling and tugging REALLY takes a toll on my body!! I finally got to where I just could not use the oven at all! I called a tech. out, and was informed that the hinge on the right side of my oven door would have to be replaced, and it would cost more than my oven cost for him to take it in to the shop to do this! NO THANK YOU!! THESE HINGES LOOK AS IF THEY ARE MADE OF SLIGHTLY STRONGER METAL THAN TIN!!
I called the Electrolux Co. the next day and have been trying to deal with someone from that Co. ever since (that was in April, 2008). I have talked to at least 5 different customer service reps., who have all refused to EVER let me talk to one of the ones I have previously talked to; I have asked repeatedly to talk to one of their supervisors, and been repeatedly denied, and I have left my phone # for one of their head guys to return my call on more than one occasion, without success!! I did get their parts dept. to send me the hinges for both sides of the oven, back in May of this year, and my brother, who is a very good mechanic, replaced the right side hinge, to where it was more stable than it had been from the manufacture, and within 2 weeks, the door started hanging again!! This oven is SIMPLY a faulty product!!
If you go to Sears website for their store and look at their product page, check out their reviews for their ovens, you will see that there are like 4 out of 5 reviewers that rate this same exact oven that have had the same problem & service techs have told them the ovens can't be repaired!!
I told the Electrolux people they should be ashamed to still allow these ovens to be sold!! Take them off the market if you are not going to refund people's money!!All they will offer me is a 50% rebate on another Frigidaire, or a Tappan, Gibson, Kelvinator, or White-Westinghouse Oven! (I can't even find any of those brands in a gas oven anymore where I live--they tell me they've stopped making them in gas-- I keep telling them I am handicapped-- I am not able to go everywhere looking, plus the space I have to put an existing oven has to be considered??)
Why won't they just work with me a little here, you know?? The trim on the outside of this oven gets SO HOT within a few seconds of turning it on. I told them it is also a FIRE HAZARD!! You would think they would want to do what's right because of that!!

My name is Daniel ** and in October 2005, I purchased a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer from Nebraska Furniture Mart in Kansas. These appliances are less than 2 years old and I have already experienced problems with all of them but the washer. I could not afford, nor think I would need, the extended warranties (especially within 2 years) and did not purchase them. Nor can I afford the prices that are charged to replace the parts and the ripoff service calls. I know of many people, including my parents, who have had the same appliances for 10-20 years and do not understand the apparent lack of concern you have for your customers.
Needless to say, I am disgusted with your products and your retailers and will never purchase another Frigidaire product. You allowed us to buy the extended warranty on the dishwasher when it stopped working after 6 mos. We can't afford anything else having to do with you. We will have to purchase Maytag. Furthermore, I will use whatever media at my disposal to advise the public of the inferior products that you produce. I am also contacting the Better Business Bureau and Attorneys General in both Missouri and Georgia. I am sick of being ripped off by major companies trying to get rich.

After 6 years and 5 months, our side-by-side Frigidaire DIED. The temp was warm, no ice cubes were being made... so we called out a service man. He said it was too far gone and just to replace it. Sad to think that a $2000 item can only last this long. It would have cost $1500-$1700 to fix. So we did go back to the same store, bought a GE Profile for $3000. We noticed ONLY the Frigidaires were the cheapest or on sale. Hope something can be done w/ them making these defective products.

I bought this Frigidaire stove from Sears for approximately $1400. I purchased the extended warranty from Sears. There is a clause for the Lemon Law that states if they come out more than 3 times in a year the stove will be replaced. They have been out 4 times and never fixed it. The clause also states they have to replace a functional part which has only been one time and it still doesn't work. Sears has now scheduled another repairman out within the next week. I am addressing this more to Frigidaire than I am Sears. Sears has their policies and rules and won't change but I bought a top of the line 30 Frigidaire stove that has been nothing but trouble since I've had it.
I feel I purchased a lemon. The stainless steel top has been replaced because it rusted. The new one rusted also and they told me it's not covered now. I am 80 years old and I can't afford to purchase another stove but I feel my life could be in danger if this unit shorts out and catches fire or I leave something cooking and catch the house on fire. My family is fully aware of the stress and aggravation I have had and would definitely file a lawsuit if something happens to me after all of the times I have requested service, got a service man who did not fix it and continue fighting the same problems I started with when I purchased it.
I had to borrow a stove last Christmas while waiting for a repair person. The stove has a short that has never been fixed. There are times that if you turn the units on in low light you can see fire and/or light flicker in the back panel of the stove. I am afraid to leave anything on the back units because I have never been able to turn the units down to simmer and be assured the food would not burn. The units change temperature without me touching the controls.

NO TOOLS PULLED OUT The second one said to run cleaning tablets called (affresh) sold at sears through the washer. I used 3 tablets to no avail.
After quite an ordeal, Airport appliance said they would take my $2,494.32 Washer and Dryer and give $500 Toward a new set bought from them. (WHAT A JOKE!) Anna from Frigidaire said they would give me a rebate on a new set bought from them. Again (WHAT A JOKE!) Since this seem to be a problem inherent in this line i told Brandsmart I wanted to change this fridge and get a different one.
I was told that because it was a cosmetic problem and the 30 day return period had expired they would not do that, but they would send a tech to look at it and glue it back. When the tech came I told them I wanted to change the fridge not glue it as this is a $1600 brand new fridge and should be in perfect condition. A few days later I noticed there was frost accumulating inside the freezer around the ice dispenser.
When I contacted Brandsmart, I was told again they would not change it, but would send another tech to look at it. I have contacted the company directly and have gone to the store and spoken with the saleperson and the manager. Nothing has been resolved, I paid a lot of money for a new fridge not a refurbished one, this store is making it difficult in the hopes that i will give up, its not right. I feel that as the consumer i should have some rights also.

On July 1 of 2007, while building a house, we ordered a Frigidaire stove through Lowe's in Tilton, NH. We received it in Aug., installed it in November. The first time I used it, it did not reach the temperature it should have. I immediately called Lowe's, asking to return it, but were told we had to go through Frigidaire to get it repaired. We were unable to get hold of Frigidaire until May of 2008.
They sent a Reliable Appliance Service technician on June 25. He changed the ignitor, to no avail. We called them again and someone came out on July 10 to change the thermostat. On August 26, they came and changed the control panel, but the stove still didn't work correctly. All this time, the stove was under warranty.
The stove still does not work properly, but we are being told that it is no longer under the year warranty. But the issue is that it has never worked correctly from the beginning. The technicians that came out, came out during the year warranty period and never got the stove working properly. They just kept changing parts. We want a refund so that we can buy a stove that works from a reliable company that respects and honors its customers.
The result is that we have a stove that we paid over $500 for that does not work properly.

This Appliance Store was used to supply kitchen packages to home owners and renters for a government program nambed 'Hope 6'. These new houses were built by HUD and they don't seem to care. My dishwasher was broken when I moved in this new house and I was the first occupant. Shortly after that the timer element went out in my new range. I could not use my oven for about 5-6 weeks. Then immediately after that My refrigerator started having the blues. Less than 6 months old and had frost and ice build-up on this frost free freezer compartment. They came out, brought a loaner and kept my frige for a month.
the very next week, all my food defrosted and once again I lost food and had to rush to store what I could salvage to my daughter's house to store. That meant the inconvience of driving across town daily to pick up meat for dinner or a trip to the store. This time they kept it for three weeks. They brought my fridge back and sure enough, it went out again, I again lost food, and had the loaner back. The loaner worked fine, much better than the new one. They told me that someone put in freon and forgot to replace the plug and it all leaked out. This time they kept it for about 1-2 weeks. Three times for one refrigerator less than two years old?
I talked to the Frigidaire Company and Al Grace appliance, to no avail. They would not replace my refrigerator. I am a 62 year old disabled great grandmother. Do you think I felt like all that cleaning, running around or have the financial resources to do all that. Do you think they sent someone to clean out the fridge even once? How about the food I lost? What about the extra gas I burned? When I found out that a lot of my neighbors were having trouble with theirs too, a red flag went up. I think they took rejects and refurbished them and passed them off as new.
I was totally exhausted by all that running, cleaning, moving around, rearranging and stressing about all the inconvience I was under, unnecessarily. I have a madical condition that is ascerbated by stress alone. As a result, I ended up in my doctors office with an unscheduled appointment and a medication change.

I purchased a new Fridgedaire gas wall oven, model from Angel Appliance. Once the oven was installed and I turned it on, I realized immediately that the oven door gets very hot. I reported the problem to Angel who indicated it was a cheap oven and not well insulated, which they never discussed with me before I purchased it and spent $300 to install it. They suggestted I call Fridgedaire. I called Fridgedaire who indicated I needed to schedule a service technician to come out. I did so. The technician agreed that it was very hot and then reported back to Angel. No one from Angel ever called to follow up.
So I called them and asked what next. They said the oven had to be over 172 degrees hot on the glass with a room temp of 72 - 99 degrees and an oven temp of 400. (they didn't have the guy test that the first time, so I have to stay home all day tomorrow waiting for the tech to come back and do a proper test). Today I tested the oven myself with a meat themometer taped to the oven. At 350 the oven reached 151 on the outside of the oven. I'm not sure if it will get up to 172 degrees, but I can tell you at 151 degrees it could burn. Besides that, the temp inside the oven is not hot enough to cook at frozen lasagna following the directions. I preheated the oven to 350 and waited, then I put the lasgna in once the oven registered 350. I waited 45 minutes as instructed. The lasagna was still cold in the center when it came out.
The consequences are that I have waited almost two months now for some resolution. I am eating out all the time because I cannot use my oven. I have wasted groceries by making purchases and not being able to use them. I have spent endless hours on the phone and email. I have waited at my house for probably 8 hours in total for techs to come - 3 or 4 times now. I am told that once their tech comes out again, they will report to Fridgedaire and then Fridgedaire will send out their own tech.

I built my house in 2000. I outfitted my new kitchen with the complete line of Frigidaire Gallery Series stainless steel appliances. What a nightmare! In less than 5 years, my dishwasher has broken twice, the handle came loose after 1 year, my ice maker stopped dispensing ice after 3 years, my microwaive completely stopped working after 6 years and my stove complete rusted out (gas stove) after 5 years.
Before I started having all these nightmares with the kitchen appliances, I went & purchase a front end loading and stackable frigidaire washer & dryer. After 2 YEARS the washer was rendered unfixable. The part to replace the drum (which the repairman said happens ALL the time with these) cost more than a new washer. So, I went and bought a new washer about 5 months ago.
Last night the Dryer STOPPED WORKING, will not heat up. Again, after research, this is a very common problem. These are not quality products at all. I've never had a major appliance, or multiple appiance fail after 4-7 years.....Never will I buy Frigidaire again!
New stove replacement cost $2300, new microwave replacement $400, new washer replacement $900, cost to repair dishwasher x 2 $200, have not fixed the fridge yet, not worth it, cost to replace dryer if it can't be fixed $600.

Fridge/Freezer stopped working on 4/23/08 - called our own repair company who came out and replaced the compressor start assembly. Appliance worked without incident until 6/8/08. Contacted the repair company that serviced the fridge in April - they came out and determined it was a faulty compressor.
We contacted Frigidaire since the fridge is only 36 months old and the compressor is covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Frigidaire informed us that they use 2 companies in our Northern Virginia area and gave us their contact info. We called the first company on Wednesday 6/11 and scheduled an appointment for Thursday 6/12. The technician failed to show for the appt - we called to confirm with the office and were told the tech. was on the way and apparently the tech called while we were on the phone and got our roll over voice mail and concluded that we weren't home so he didnt show.
We called Frigidaire on Friday 6/13 to complain about the fact that we were now on day 6 without a fridge and we were told by Marie that Frigidaire would overnight us a new compressor and filter dryer which we would receive on Monday 6/16 and that upon receipt we should call and set up a new appt with one of their 2 repair companies.
We received the products on Monday and called the other company (not the one that broke the appt) and were told, very rudely, that it would be next week before they could get someone out to install our compressor. Unfortunately, we were forced to place a call back to the first warranty repair company and scheduled an appt for Thurs 6/19 btwn 9am and noon. When we scheduled this appt. we were very clear that it was to install the compressor. We called them on Wed 6/18 to confirm the installation appt and called again Thurs morning to confirm. Not taking any chances....day 12 without a fridge/freezer.
The tech showed up (an hour past the time window given) and told us he was not qualified to install a compressor. At this point, we called the service company immediately and were told they would try to get a tech that could install it to our house later in the day.
At this point, we placed another desperate call to Frigidaire and spoke with Britney in the corporate office. We were met with a lot of it's unfortunate and not much we can do which at this point is only adding fuel to the fire. I explained to Britney that we have 3 small children that need milk and medications that must be refrigerated to which she responded I have 4 children. Not sure why she thinks that's even relevant....obnoxious and rude I'm thinking. She may have 4 but she's also got a working fridge.
Anyhow, the repair company finally got back to us around 3:30pm Thurs and said they would in fact have a tech at our house to install the compressor that evening between 6 and 9. You can probably guess where this is going.....at 7:30pm the phone rings and the company tells us the technician won't be able to make it after all. Tomorrow will be day 13....still no fridge.
Our expenses to date include $1200.00 for the appliance, $298.00 repair for start assembly, at least $500.00 in frozen/refrigerated food that spoiled and $30.00+ in bags of ice to keep necessities cold in coolers. This total doesn't even touch on lost work time for phone and broken appointments.

I also purchased the Brandsmart 5 year extended warranty from Brandsmart. On 10/23/06 I had to call Brandsmart for repair because the oven door was not closing tight. A repair man came and told me this is normal and that I should go see the other ranges at the store to see that this is how it is supposed to be and left without repairing my appliance.
On 7/3/2007 I had to call again because now the gap was so big that the oven light would stay on. The second repair call they changed the springs on the door. This worked until April 2008. On 5/29/08 I called Brandsmart again and scheduled a service call on the same problem (I now have to tie the door to the back of the range to keep it close while using conv oven) and keep the door in lock while not in use to turn the oven light off. I also called Frigidaire/Electrolux to see if there were any recalls on my appliance. The lady at Frigidaire hardly spoke English, did not respond to my question and told me that since I had not purchased the Frigidaire extended warranty I had to go through Brandsmart extended warranty.
I asked for a supervisor, she kept me on hold for 30 mins, I finally hung up and no one called me back. Additionally, the 2 front elements do not change temperature as it should. If I am using temp 7 (not even high) and change to simmer the burner stays red hot. Today, 6/4/08, the service man from Brandsmart came and asked if I have children who hang on the oven door (trying to put blame on me)and again said that the burners were normal without doing any type of trouble shooting.
Needless to say at this time I was quite upset and asked him to send me someone who knew what they were doing. He got loud and said he could order the part but if it was not defective I would be charged for it. I told him to leave and to send someone else. I called Brandsmart and they had Daisy Vega supervisor over repair service calls call me back. She said since the unit was over 3 years old she could not replace it, but she would order the switches for the burners and the springs for the door. Another 10 days of wait (approximately). I told her I was not satisfied with this since this is obviously a defective unit, what will happen when the extended warranty expires? She said I would have to go to Frigidaire. I told her I had already called Frigidaire and they referred me back to Brandsmart. She stated this was all she could do.
I again called Frigidaire spoke to Jason in the Philippines who said he couldn't help me since I had Brandsmart Extended warranty, I need to go through Brandsmart. What is a consumer to do!? I will definitely not buy another Frigidaire product and will not recommend it to anyone. I feel this unit should be replaced with a new one.
I paid $798.88 for the range, plus $78.88 for the extended warranty $39.88 delivery and $64.23 in taxes. Total bill $981.87. Loss of time on the phone and waiting for tech to repair unit. Energy (electricity) lost because the oven was losing heat with door ajar. Pans went bad because of heating element too high.

I just thought it was new and that it would eventually go away. Christmas came and so did Easter. I then had to put it to the test. It was time to use the self clean. After 20 minutes, I noticed a cracking sound as though the glass was going to explode and the color of the glass turned white. I quickly cancelled the clean and contacted the distributor. Fortunately, it was only 6 months old and under warranty. Much to my skepticism, I replaced it with another of the same model. Since then, I've used it maybe a dozen times and every time I've used it there has been that burning smell which seems to be getting worse. I purchased a Frigidaire Range, Microwave and Refrigerator in April 2007. Since then I have been had repair service for them six times. A week after the refrigerator came, I called and wrote to Frigidaire about the noise and constant running of the refrigerator. Repair service came and replaced the fan motor. I am a senior and a recent widow and being awakened at 3:00 AM by the clicking noise three rooms away from the kitchen is adding to the stress of my life. Repair service was here again. Claims Frigidaire knows about the problem and he has to test some tubes. Noise still there and the unit runs even longer making high pitched humming noise. The problem seems to be universal with Frigidaire and it would lead me to believe a CLASS ACTION filed with the FTC is the only way any consumer is going to get Frigidaire to address or correct the defects in its products. Right now I am not even dealing with the other units. They replaced the oven & microwave door and the range burners.
My electric bill has been unusually high. Being awakened around 3:00 AM leaves me stressed and tired throughout the day. This affects my health and well being.

I bought a washer and dryer on 11/24/06, Frigidaire Gallery Series. After a year I noticed mold on the door of the washer and the rubber seal inside the drum. I bleached it, cleaned it, scrapped it only to find more mold in the creases and folds inside and in parts where I couldn't clean so well. The mold was BLACK, Slimy, and in little holes that I have to try to clean with an old toothbrush. I don't know what to do, my kids suffer from allergies and one of the triggers is mold. I can't get the smell of mold out of some of the clothes or the washer. There are areas I can't clean to make sure all of the mold is gone. The company did not offer any solutions I didn't already try.
My kids suffer from mold allergies. The part costs $113.00 dollars and I don't even know how much it will cost to have someone replace it. Maytag had a recall in Canada two years ago for the same problem and replaced all the parts for free. I think Frigidaire should also be responsible for replacing this part and making the replacement less prone to hidden mold. I had no idea that the crease was so deep. I threw out two towels of mold and I have no choice but to continue using a moldy washer. The cost of the washer and dryer are $1300.00 and because I didn't find it sooner it's not covered under warranty.

I purchase Frigidaire Professional Series, Stainless Steal- Refrigerator, 5-burner gas range and dishwasher which were delivered to my home on or about November 28, 2007. The refrigerator is excessively loud. The compressor trips on each and every time the refrigerator door is opened, even though it is set at the manufacturer's recommended setting. It vibrates loudly when coming on; it has a knocking sound and now has a new sound which sounds like a belt or nut is a loose. I had gone to the local dealer, Cummins Appliance, to look at these products twice before purchasing them. The refrigerator made NO loud sounds when the door opened and did not prompt a compressor to come on when the door opened. I contacted the company to complain about the loud noise and that I noticed an increase in electricity usage. These loud sounds disturb my sleep at night. (My household has two working adults and no children.)
The representative told me the sounds were normal and that I should take a sleep aid. I am outraged by the callous disregard the company has for its inferior products. I cannot get a straight answer about my request to return the refrigerator product, as it was sold under deceptive practices. The dishwasher has a delayed setting on it; however, one must RUN hot water prior to using the dishwasher in order for the dishes to be reasonably cleaned. I need help. I have spent over $3,500 for products that are clearly inferior, and there seems to be no recourse.

I own a Frigidaire Gallery Side by Side fridge, dishwasher and above range microwave. I love the appliances. I am replacing the stove with a Frigidaire Gallery model when I can afford to purchase one. I've had the fridge for 4 years with out a single problem. The microwave and dishwasher are close to 1 year old and have performed above expectations. I love the sensor features the microwave has to cook with and sensor feature the dishwasher uses to clean the dishes with. Absolutely the best line of appliances ever purchased.

Since purchasing my Frigidaire in 2002, I have had 3 service calls on this model: #FRS26R4AB5. I just found out today that the compressor on this product was faulty. According to the repairman, most of the compressors for this brand had been replaced by the manufacturer--all but mine. The warranty was only good for 5 years, and I was off by 6 months. Had it gone out 6 months ago it would have been covered. I think this is so unfair being that the manufacturer knew this part was faulty. What can I do as a consumer? It is going to cost me $225.00 for installation and $172.00 for a new compressor. I can't purchase another refrigerator for $400.00.

On Oct. 27 we noticed our 1-year plus Frigidaire freezer was defrosting. Had to throw out a lot of ruined food and cook all the meat. Costal refrigeration came Monday, Oct. 29. The fan was not working, and he replaced the part which cost me $163.00. He said that if the refrigerator did not work after a few hours, my problem was with the sealed system and told me it should be covered under warranty. I called Frigidaire/Electrolux on Oct. 30, and they gave me a list of 4 warranty repair shops. I called Metro Factory service (on the list) and they could not come until November 5. They came 11/5 and told me I have no warranty and wanted $300 up front to cut into the sealed system. Since I did not have the warranty with me, I told him to leave and would consider buying a new refrigerator.
That night I read the warranty, and it clearly states the sealed system is covered under the 2nd-5th year, all parts and labor. I called Metro the next day; they would return to repair but wanted $128.95 up front for the service call (which should have been covered). I called back Frigidaire and spoke to Barb who set me up with another company called General Keystone for Nov. 7. It was the sealed system, that he will try to fix it, but from his experience Frigidaire was having problems with these, and he may have to deem the unit unrepairable and we should get a new one. It seemed to be fixed, but by Nov. 9 was defrosting again.
I called General Keystone, and they said the unit was unrepairable--to call Frigidaire. I did, and Brandon said it needed to be re-diagnosed; if unrepairable they'd offer 25% on a new unit. On Nov. 13 the repairman came and was told by Frigidaire to cut into the sealed system again, and then was told to order new parts for a re-build. Frigidaire is waiting for the repair dept. report and say it will take up to 72 hours to decide. I should get an answer Monday, 11/19/07.
Spoiled food is valued at $350.00, repair of $163.00, plus additional filter costing $45.00--all unrecoverable.I PUT IN A CLAIM WITH THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION ON THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL START A CLASS ACTION ON THEM IF THEY SEE A PATTERN! I WILL FORWARD ALL COMPLAINTS TO THEM.

My Fridgidaire refrigerator is under warranty, it stopped cooling, so I called the 800 number. I was given three area companies to fix the problem; only ONE fixes these parts and is 40 miles away. A tech was supposed to schedule an appointment, but after a week there was still NO WORKING REFRIGERATOR OR CALL. I finally made contact; he was to come that Saturday. Over the phone on that Sat. he came to the conclusion it was the condenser and said he would call back when the part came in. Another WEEK later, no call; so I called back. The part was in, but the tech couldn't get out until almost another week later. He said he would come out the following Saturday--the day we would be leaving on vacation and couldn't give me a time. We had a FRIEND stay at the house on that Sat., and around 3:00 he repairs the condenser.
Well, that was Sept 16, 2007. It has started making the same sound 2 weeks ago and NOT cooling, so I called the 800 # again and have to go with the same A1-Repair that Frigidaire allows. Still no one came out to look at the refrigerator; they just order another condenser. Am waiting to hear from a TECH to see when I will have a refrigerator AGAIN. It is now NOV 5th, and I get the same story when I call: a tech will call you!

I purchased Frigidaire Speed Bake electric range Oct. 21, 2005 plus a one-year service contract. Oct. 21, 2007 a small element of front right burner stopped working. The service contract date ended on Sunday, so no service was available until after expiration. Estimates for repair/replacement are $250-$300. The range cost $750 including install/delivery charges. If only 2 more burners need replacing that would equal the cost of the stove. I am very disappointed in the poor quality of this product after only 2 years being used with care, only by 2 adults. I will not buy Frigidaire products again.
Economic damage is up to $300 for repair with high probability that all the other burners are of equally poor quality.

I purchased a side-by-side refrigerator last 2/2007. Noticed that it the refrigerator was not cooling and no ice was coming out from the icemaker. The representative from India stated that two parts needed to be replaced: defrost cycle and the icemaker machine. I asked for a technician to come but they said it would take 7 - 10 days before they can get someone. I do not know how to repair parts - but the thought of 7-10 days of waiting made me say that it was okay to deliver the parts to my house. Two days went, still no parts.

We purchased a new home with all Frigidaire appliances from Lowe's. Within about 4 months, the dishwasher started leaking. You have to call a 1-800 number to get names of repair companies and you can only use those companies (2). Neither company could get to me in less than 7 days. After the repairman came, he didn't have the part and had to order it. He told me that the water arm goes out on these dishwashers all the time (- but he didn't have one on his truck ). 6 weeks later, he returned with the part - it was supposed to take 2 weeks to get the part and they were to contact me to put it in. Again I had to call them 6 weeks later.

We purchased a complete set of Frigidaire Gallery stainless steel appliances at Lowes. Days after the warranty expired we found substantial cracks in our microwave door. A call to Customer Service revealed that we needed to replace the plastic on the door. Apparently the over the range model is insufficient to take the heat from a range. They want us to buy parts for $150. Forget it. Our refrigerator makes noise on opening and microwave was noisy when it ran without leaking microwaves. We replaced with a $50 Kmart model and are much happier.

My husband purchased a new Frigidaire range for Christmas. I have only had it for 2 years and already the digital display panel is falling off. It looks like it was attached with some cheap plastic. I called Electrolux which is manufacturer of the product. They told me that they would possibly pay for the parts and labor but I have to pay for the diagnosis. To have someone come out and give a diagnosis it is going to cost $89.00. Considering, I hardly ever cook and haven't used the oven much for it to be falling apart so soon shows the quality of their products.

We have a Frigidare Oven we installed approximate 3 years ago.
We have always had problems with it keeping the right temperature. Two months ago the control touch pad went out and the repairman replaced the panel and the touch pad. This took 4 trips to get it right.
Yesterday, Thanksgiving Day, we put our turkey in the oven and set the temp at 325 degrees. 45 minutes into the cooking, the control panel showed signs of moisture in it and it started flashing F1. My wife hit cancel and then reset the oven to cook the turkey at 325 degrees. We watched for a few minutes and I noted the temp went up to over 900 degrees which is what it dones when it goes into the cleaning mode.
