I purchased this unit after a neighbor swore it worked great. Nothing has changed since I purchased and installed the unit. I still have hard water deposits, that actually seem to be worse. I contacted EdenPURE to and let them know that I was disappointed that it wasn't working like they claimed. The support person, said they hadn't had any problems and lots of satisfied users. She then suggest I purchase an additional Scale Rid because perhaps the one I had was too small for the home. I had purchased a portable cooling/heating unit which works pretty good, but I won't purchase anything else from this company. In looking at the reviews and ratings on ConsumerAffairs, I wish I had read these before I bought.

I have owned the Gen4 heater since October 2010 and have never experienced any of the problems I read from other reviews. I did have a problem with the replacement of bulbs by a so called repair facility. The factory installed set lasted less than two years then after a warranty replacement they lasted another two years. That business quit doing work for EdenPURE so I contacted the company and they sent me a set free of charge since the 4 year warranty was still in effect. I replaced them myself and haven't touch it since and this heater is used a lot. Plug getting hot? Never once.

I can't claim that it saves money but I can say it is a great supplement heat source. I use it daily during the winter (only when I'm home) in my apartment and it keeps two average size rooms quite toasty. The setting never set higher than 6. I do like the safety factor compared to those other types of space heaters I owned in the past. Maybe the quality of build since I purchased mine is the reason others have had issues. I know that my cousin has used two of this model in his home for longer than I have and he loves them. In fact he was the one that made me research and buy one. From my point of view they produce a good product. Are they the best on the market? I can't say. I find it to be a quality product and customer service was very quick to provide me with replacement bulbs. Friendly on the phone too!

I received this second hand. The woman said it worked but she had not used it in a while. I plugged it in and it was okay a few days. About a week later I turned it on and wires started burning in the wall. I used the special outlet for the air conditioner- it should not have started a fire. I have another one and the plug gets very hot when I use it. I would never buy more, recommend anyone to buy these space heaters.

Elderly mom bought two for gifts. Both worked fine, so she bought two more for herself. Both would run about an hour, then trip off on overheat, constantly beeping unless unplugged. Sent both back to exchange ($45 UPS). Replacements did the same thing. I'm a retired engineer, I studied them and saw that the safety switch is a simple snap disk rated at 75C. I replaced them with 80C units, thinking they were a bad batch, inaccurate, etc. Nope, same thing. Jumpered them out and only use them on the porch or garage now, never unattended. Other posters are right, you can get better equipment locally that can be returned or exchanged with no hassle.

I fell for the hype on their ads, bought 2 EdenPURE heaters @$300.00 each. Ran one all winter in living room, it kept shutting off and finally couldn't use it at all. "Needs elements". They are JUNK. The wall switch, outlet & wall got so hot you can't touch it & lucky I found this before it started a fire, THEN I got my "Budget plan" electric bill which is NORMALLY 87.00 per month, with a "Settle up" period in April of every year & that historically EVERY YEAR ends up with me not having ANY electric bill for the following 2-3 months since the 87.00/month paid previously covers ALL the power I use plus results in no bill for those 2-3 months surplus. GREAT.

NOW enter EDENPURE HEATER supposedly "ECONOMICAL". PURE BS. When "Settle up" time rolled around after using this EdenPURE heater I had TO PAY the power co. $700.00 I didn't have or plan on because it never happened before until EdenPURE heater ran in my living room. So besides NOT being economical at all, quite the opposite, I was lucky it didn't burn my home down or severely damage it thru their faulty design & assembly. These heaters are JUNK, their ads LIE BIGTIME. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on this Chinese mfd. GARBAGE. EdenPURE heaters should be forced off the market...

I'll be quick in detail: while Edenpures are decent space heaters in their own right, they take extreme amounts of power. So much power that when they first turn on they can dim the lighting of your house for SEVERAL seconds. So much power, that they will MELT THEIR OWN CORDS! I have had 2 Edenpure brand heaters attempt to burn down my house by either melting their cords, or melting at the plug connection with the outlet. They were of both older and newer generations so it is definitely a problem with their designs or shoddy manufacture in general. In my opinion they should be banned from being sold in the US until these problems can be properly rectified before someone is killed from a fire caused by one of these heaters. It's even possible that someone did indeed die due to fire caused by an Edenpure heater. If you want to buy an infrared heater, steer clear of this $300 fire hazard and buy a cheaper brand, for sure.

Run great for a couple years, but then required expensive parts and labor to fix. Was not any cheaper to run than any other space heater. It is larger -takes up more space than most space heaters. It has a pleasant white noise/sound when running. It is a nice looking heater, and does not get hot to touch-probably safer around small kids than most heaters. It is boxy shaped which helps prevent tip over. The remote is nice, but does not allow you to see the current settings, so you can turn it up or down, but I usually have to go look at what it is currently set on to see what I want to change. This is a pain because the display is located on the top. I am short and have to get a chair to see the display since we have it up on a cabinet.

I ordered the EdenPURE Climater heater the first week of February of 2018. I was very excited to receive the heater from reading about it on their website, mainly because of how well they claimed it would heat and the low cost of using the heater. When the heater arrived I immediately hooked it up and begin using it. I was amazed how little heat was coming out of it, so I got my infrared thermometer out and checked the temperature coming out. I could not find more than 72 degree of heat anywhere around the heater. I continued using the heater and trying different settings on the temp adjustment. The heater just didn't seem to be doing anything close to the claims.

After trying my best to like the heater a week I finally gave up on it and packaged it back in the box it came in... I came close to forgetting about sending it back until my power bill came in the mail. I was totally shocked at how much my power bill had increased from using the EdenPURE heater one week. If I had used the heater the entire Month that I had it my bill would've been so much I would not have been able to pay it on my fixed income.

This is copied from their website and it's a false statement if I've ever read one. This should be illegal to post such a complete lie as this. New 2018 Patented Breakthrough Design. U.S. Patent No. D799,014. The new 2018 EdenPURE 360 Super Climater Model 200 will slash your cooling and heating bills every month. It is portable and light so you can take it anywhere in your home including outside on warm days to keep you cool and comfortable. It cannot start a fire and is safe for children and pets. Cools 200% better than a ceiling fan. Compact and portable, even use it outside. Only costs $10.48 a month in electricity.

There's no way anyone could use this heater and it just cost $10.48 a Month unless they never turned it on. I would NOT recommend this heater to anyone. I am completely dissatisfied with the heater I bought and wasted nearly $100 from trying it including my cost of $35 to send it back and the increase in my power bill for the week I used the heater. I believe they should've at least paid for shipping to return it since it was guaranteed if I wasn't happy with it. I honestly believe the company has written all the reviews on their website because everyone was posted on the very same day and all have 5 stars. I hope this review is posted as I have written it because someone needs to let people know this isn't right to do this to their customers. If the other reviews I have read are correct, then something was badly wrong with the heater I purchased, but customer service didn't care what my reason was for returning the one I bought.

He told me to take pictures and take them to where we purchased the heater. After reading all these comments, I see it will do no good. Eden Pure advertise that it costs just pennies a day to operate. My electric bill went up $130 a month. That's about 433 pennies a day. I guess that they wouldn't sell many if they said that it would cost you $4 to $5 a day to run it. So it cost me roughly $32-$33 a week. My propane cost me about $10 to $12 a week. So as far as saving me money on my heating bills the last thing that I want to use is a Eden Pure.

First purchased EdenPURE gen 3 in 2011. After two seasons six months of use the cord melted and burnt the first receptacle in the picture that I sent. We were unaware what was burning because of the location of the receptacle. It was behind the chair on the wall in the living room a common place for a receptacle. Then we smelled something again when we came home from shopping and noticed the power was out. It never worked again. We were unaware of the cause So my wife purchased a refurbished EdenPURE USA 1000 refurbished unit $177 from EdenPURE. Then on my wife's birthday this unit exploded the receptacle, as you see in the picture. When I called EdenPURE they told me to throw it away and they sent me a wall hugger. The wall hugger we used about a week and it kicked on and kicked off will not come back on.

Now both of these units or on a separate circuit with no appliances 15 amp breaker like the instruction booklet said and this happen. How can a company get away with something like this. And with all the customer complaints and death and more will probably die from this mistake. I am a Vietnam veteran. My wife is on disability and I am filing for disability. Money is tight but lives should not be taken by a corporate mistake. On Feb 14th 2015 I bought an Edenpure heater, by the end of winter the infrared bulbs had burned out. I put it in the back room until a couple days ago (Nov 15, 2016). It was still under warranty and SOME of the paperwork said I could return it to the seller or contact the phone number supplied. But some of the paperwork said NOT to take it to the retailer. I took it to the retailer I bought it from. They called the number for me. Luckily, I don't throw anything away, including my receipt of purchase. Because Edenpure did everything that they could to avoid honoring their warranty. They do not handle their own return and or warranty services. Those are handled by a third party. So next I was referred to them. Another hassle on the phone that included having to have the retailer fax a copy of all my paperwork to them. Even after the owner of the retailer assured them that he was looking at my dated receipt.

I was told they were going to honor the warranty and that they were going to send me a box and postage to return this heater to them and it would be repaired and sent back to me. Two days later (today the 17th) I received a refurbished heater from them. It is filthy, the "clean the filter light " is stuck on, and there's no box to return the one with the burned out bulbs with. I can promise you, I will NEVER EVER purchase another Edenpure product again. Unlike some of the reviews I have read, I had (and still have) great service from my Model Gen 3. I have had it 8, maybe 9 years and it still works great. It runs (very quietly) 24/7 during the winter months and keeps my 884 square foot 1st floor toasty warm. I had such good luck and service from it that I decided to buy a couple of Model 750's that were "on sale" for my basement and 2nd floor.

The model 750's arrived at the end of the winter and I didn't even take them out of the box until the next winter approx. 6-7 months later. The first thing that I immediately noticed was they were extremely loud. I can't hear the Gen 3 only 10 feet from me in the Living Room but could hear the 750's upstairs in the bedroom and downstairs in the basement. When I called Edenpure about this they advised me this was "normal" for this particular model, and also advised me that due to the time lapse I could neither return them or exchange them for a quieter model.

Okay, my bad for waiting so long to check out my purchase. But then these models arbitrarily started shutting themselves off for no apparent reason after running for only about an hour, in both the High and Auto modes. I called Edenpure back and told them about the problem and they gave me instructions on how to reset the thermostat. Followed their instructions but it didn't resolve the problem. When I called Edenpure a third time I was advised that I could return the heaters at my shipping expense (both ways) and they would repair the heaters. Two way shipping for the two heaters was going to be almost the price of one of the heaters. So now I have two loud heaters that may or may not work at any given time.

When I saw that Edenpure came out with a Model Gen 4 I thought it might be a better quality heater like the Gen 3, unlike the smaller and less expensive 750. Unfortunately I was wrong with my assumption. It worked well the first winter and wasn't as noisy as the 750's, but also not as quiet as the Gen 3. Now that I've been using it this second winter it has gotten louder (something inside is vibrating/rattling) and it also has been arbitrarily shutting itself off. I still had the instructions on how to reset the thermostat, but again it did not resolve the problem.

I chose to write this review versus contacting Edenpure about the Gen 4 because of the response(s) I received from their "Customer Service" in the past. Many retailers sell a variety of these quartz heaters now and most of them are approx. 1/3 to 1/2 the price of the Edenpure models. And if there are any problems with it I can just drive back to the store and exchange or return it - with no shipping fees.

It takes a whole day of constant running to get house really hot and my furnace stays off at that point and Edenpure Gen4 goes on and off. It gives a warning that your wiring should be so strong and you need grounded plugs. My heater can't be turned on forever constantly and is only controlled by the temperature I have it set on. I have about twelve lights and when I push button then the more lights lit then the hotter it makes a room.

I had trouble with remote at first because I keep Edenpure on top of an old dishwasher and it wasn't til I put Edenpure on the floor and stood up and pressed buttons then I found the remote sensors are made where it expects you to be standing while Edenpure is at floor level for remote to work and to use the remote while the Edenpure is up on the dishwasher is hard to do. I don't have to adjust it after I get it adjusted just to the right temperature and then it turns off and on. I think some of the problems is in shipping as it's not protected well and no handle on box and delivery people were rough I felt with the box.

If your power lines are not large enough then it can overheat your lines which overheats the wall socket and then cords. The company doesn't do enough asking questions of buyers to make sure it will work in your house and the Edenpure heaters are not moveable like they say because it doesn't have a carry handle and needs a dedicated plug in with a grounded receptacle with like a 40 amp line. My Edenpure is 750 watts per hour and uses almost as much power as a refrigerator does. I check the cord and wall socket a few times every winter and it cold to touch.

Anyway Edenpure needs to make sure it will work out for you before selling it and they need one designed that is safer for people who have old wiring in their home. You can have a receptacle rewired for $100-$200 dollars. I had a line rewired for an air conditioner with a new outlet about 5 years ago for $143 dollars. I increased the line from a 20 amp line to a 30 amp line so there wouldn't be a risk of a fire from air conditioner pulling too much power through the lower amp line. It heats my house with the help of my furnace. It would take 3-4 regular room heaters to do the same thing. Anyway I hope this helps someone use the Edenpure.

This heater is absolutely the worst. At first I was happy to have it. It's supposed to be energy efficient and heat well. I'm using it in a smaller room roughly 11' x 11'. There's simply no way of adjusting this heater to where it won't just keep continuously running non-stop. The only way to get it to stop heating is to press the power button so it finally shuts off. I come from a technical background. Yes, I've read the manual. Yes, I've read what little troubleshooting advice there is on the Edenpure website and on google. I've turned it all the way up for 4 minutes or so and then tried adjusting back down until the thermostat clicks. It never clicks. Would you like to know why? Because there ISN'T any thermostat. You heard correct. It doesn't even have one. No wonder it just stays on. Oh, but I've found the replacement thermostat for this model online.

After disassembling the unit myself there isn't any such part nor anywhere to plug it into the circuit board. After taking it apart I noticed one of the ceramic caps for an element was laying loose on the bottom and wasn't even on the glass tube. This didn't happen during disassembly. It's been running like that for who knows how long. Apparently they're just kind of loose on there. This heater does eventually heat my room although it takes a while to do so. Unfortunately it gets too hot and I'm forced to shut it off before bed. I live in upstate NY and wake up at around 1 or 2 AM freezing and I keep catching a cold I can't get rid of.

I wish there was a way to hook up a thermostat and I was going to attempt to do so (I'm not worried about voiding a warranty from a company that would never back it up anyway). I thought I'd simply replace the bad one or modify it but the lack of one to begin with makes this task next to impossible so cleanly back together it goes. I'm glad I also got a look at how poorly this was put together. Screws missing, things not tightened down properly. Wire harnesses loose. It's making me reconsider using this heater at all.

After a period of use my wife found due to the processing of the water the water flow was so slow it took forever to fill the washing machine. It also caused some of her blouses to ball up on the surface which had never happened before. We called the company. They just gave excuses but no solution. It was beyond the trial period but we disconnected the unit so we were out the cost of the machine.

I purchased the EdenPure GEN 4 heater and it has been nothing but problems. In the 4 years I have owned it, it has quit 4 times. I've had to replace the elements myself twice and sent it back for a replacement once (at my own expense). This heater caught fire and could have burned my house down. Fortunately I was in the same room, asleep on the sofa in the den when the heater malfunctioned. I woke up in the middle of the night to a popping, crackling sound to find a full flame burning where the heater was plugged into the wall. The heater was not on at the time and had not been on for days. The cord just bursted into flame and burned the wall and the outlet where it was plugged. I immediately pulled the cord out of the wall to find the prongs completed burned off and damage to my house.

After a certified electrician made an assessment, it was deemed that the fault originated in the cord. The outlet still worked despite the damage and the wiring in the wall was unharmed and in tact. I am scared of this heater. EdenPure told me that it was my fault since I do not unplug it when it was not in use. This product is poor representation of the Made in America label. Buyer Beware!!!

Ordered a portable heater in October 2014 because my husband "trusts" Bob Vila. Took nearly two weeks to receive. Opened the box, followed the setup instructions, plugged it in... Nothing. Unplugged, did everything again... Nothing. Called customer service and went through the whole rigamarole of unplugging, resetting, etc. NOTHING. They sent a return label; we packed it up in the original box and returned it. After nearly FIVE weeks, we received a replacement unit. It did work but did not even heat up a 200 sq. ft. space, even running 24 hr. I finally went to Costco online, ordered a Heat Storm, received it in 3 days -- no shipping costs -- plugged it in and it worked. Not only did it work, but it heated up the space.

Fast forward to October 2015. I thought I would give the Edenpure another chance -- it had been sitting in a closet since last December. Plugged it in, turned it on, waited and waited for the chill to be taken out of the room. Well I guess you know the rest of the story. This heater is bound for the garbage truck -- I wouldn't even give it to the local thrift store.

They admitted a problem with this type which was discontinued and they upgraded me to the classic model. This model still does not work properly. Oh by the way, the first of the new model was a used one. I could tell because it was dusty and scratched. These heaters don't heat even a small room and they continually shut off.

I'm on my third heater and this one would always say it wasn't leveled and the room temperature would always read high even though the room was cold. I emailed them and they told me to unplug the heater and lay it on its side for 45 mins. I had to do this all the time. Last night I smelled smoke in the room where it is located. After inspecting the whole house and coming back into the room it had shut off. I waited until it had cooled off and went to unplug it and I realized the heater had overheated and the plug going into the wall had melted! This heater could have started a fire. It's the weekend and they are closed. I am now afraid to use this outlet and I'm not sure what type of damage it has caused to my outlet!

You know how sometimes when you use the hottest water, the strongest and best laundry detergent and lots of bleach how some stains will not come out in the wash? Well, the Edenpure doesn't seem to get them out either. I used my worst rags and dishtowels to test this unit. Each time they are washed they seem cleaner and brighter and even after weeks they smell fresh and clean. I used to use Amway SA8, what I considered to be the best laundry detergent ever made and still the rags would come out of the dryer smelling like old grease.

Sometimes I would double wash them and they still smelled. I would ask people to smell them and they would say, yeah, that's what rags smell like. Then I would ask them to smell those washed in the PureWash and they noticed the difference immediately. I am thrilled about my purchase so much that when I got the advertisement for the refrigerator unit and the water softener I ordered them and I am thrilled about both of them. Almost immediately we noticed a huge difference in the quality of our water. It is truly amazing.

Also, I was suckered in by the mention of this wonderful technology. The heater never worked properly from day one. It is a big, heavy, clunky thing that is hard to position in my bedroom. There is no thermostat to set a desired heat level. The remote is frail. Worst of all, this heater threw out cold room temperature air when it was supposed to be making heat. I never got satisfaction out of it and I wrote to the Sales Manager with my complaints.

Because I had the heater a little over the initial warranty period, I could not get a refund for a return, but Customer Service promised that I could return it and they would fix it. A shipping label was sent to me and I did return it. I received a postcard saying they had received it and it would take a couple of weeks for the return. I am still waiting for it to come, but so far, no luck. Anyway, reading all the bad reviews this heater got, I was stupid to not have read them before I bought the heater. I only read them after I bought it. My bad, but their bad for putting up for sale a total abomination and excuse for a high-tech heater. Shame on them! Don't ever buy an EdenPure heater. The next paragraph starts with "This breakthrough generator produces Hydroxyl Radical (HR) Molecules..." Wikipedia defines Hydroxyl radical as the neutral form of the hydroxide ion (not ozone). The pureWash system has an ozone generator inside it. Maybe the generator uses ozone to produce the hydroxyl radical, I am not sure about that part of the system. I am sure that the air in my laundry room was not suitable for breathing while the unit was operating. It appears that not all of the ozone produced by the system stayed in the water (or some other caustic substance was given off into the air). I found no warning about this possibility. You have to set the temperature to how hot you want, if you don't, and set it high enough yes it will cut off. I set mine to 75 degrees and it's perfect, it runs and cuts off. If you set it too high it will run itself to death which will raise your electric bill. You're supposed to use it to heat your room to 70 or 75 and then use your reg. heater to raise it more. I purchased my first Edenpure heater in 2010 after I had researched and found replacement parts are available at a reasonable cost. Fortunately it was not refurbished and had a 5-year warranty. After 1 1/2 years, it stopped emitting effective heat, but the elements were still on. I suspected a failing control circuit board, but they allowed me to replace it with no return shipping cost. The replacement worked, so I thought it was just a fluke.

Further dealings with this flaky company proved otherwise. I have since purchased four more heaters, and of the five purchased, three of them had to be replaced. The two were refurbished, and I experienced incompetent, rotten service. Most agents reached by phone at customer service knew nothing of the product, and were not customer-savvy. Only twice did I reach two people, both women, who had guts enough to take on my problem and actually give a damn, and I did get good service from one. But after being told I could not return a refurbished unit after ninety days, I had to pay $76 to ship one back. This was confusing because the return-merchandise form indicates a 2-year warranty and no deadline for free return shipping.

The replacement unit had a loose front lip under the heat vent, and I immediately called and said I was NOT paying to have this replaced. That was the second and only time I was helped, and was able to get it returned free of charge. Last summer I tried one of the Elite heaters with LCD display, again refurbished, and at its receipt it was packed poorly, with the front LCD panel dislodged and hanging from its connecting wires inside the box. I also had the same trouble with a "Heater not level" report after a few weeks. Nothing Customer Service suggested worked. They told me they would replace it, but I had to fight to pay no shipping cost.

The last straw: It was replaced with a lesser expensive model that was not the Elite, after I had paid $70 more for the Elite. It was as if I was being punished for not paying return shipping costs, with no explanation. I had already discussed over the phone with an agent that I will never deal with them again; therefore, I didn't care they sent a different model. I sensed the "Heater not level" message would recur with any Elite replacement, so I'm glad I didn't get a replacement for it. The replacement works well, and calling to argue is not worth the $70 loss.

Please note: Every iteration of these heaters operates completely differently. Two check the temperature when off with periodic fan ramp-ups, and if the temperature is below setpoint, only then will they come on; these at least are more efficient. The other three only dim the infrared bulbs near setpoint, but do not go off. In addition, the fans emit a high-pitched air-whine that is very annoying, and most likely is due to the design of the plenum and air intake. And now, my original first heater that was replaced seems to be glowing only in the center and on one side on the high setting, so I am suspecting a failed infrared bulb. Fine, I will check the voltage from the control board, ensure the bulb is dead, and if burned out, will replace it because I know I can. But I will NEVER order another Edenpure product again, regardless if heater or another product.

Only the two female agents who cared at all stated I am a longtime and valued customer, but I have not experienced the same level of concern otherwise. If this "proud American company" is supposed to be so good, why are they so careless? The company is not trustworthy, and anyone who endorses them should have his or her head examined. Since other companies are offering infrared heaters with copper exchangers for less than half the price of the refurbished Edenpures, you can bet their product is not unique at this time. Edenpure should be thoroughly grilled, and then put out of business.

Quote from a refurbished heater closeout sale letter: "...These products carry an unconditional, no risk guarantee. If you are not totally satisfied, return at our expense and your purchase price will be refunded. No questions asked. There is also a 2 year warranty on all parts and labor..."

Ordered 2 of the Gen 4's for a new room under construction. Did not use them the first winter since winter was almost over when they came and the room was not finished. Took them out of the box the following winter. One did not work at all right out of the box. The second one worked a couple of months and stopped working also. Unfortunately they were refurbished units and only had a one year warranty. Apparently they have no quality control on these units (since one never did work upon shipment) and support should have at least followed up by tracking down where the breakdown in their process is. Beware of the late winter 'discount' mailing ads - apparently these are the units they are trying to get rid of. They said these units are completely working, just have cosmetic flaws, i.e., scratch, dent, etc. Not to mention when the one was working, it RAISED my electric bill instead of lowering it! Complete waste of $400.00.

I have tried everything they told me to do and it will not reset or start. To make matters worse, they say my unit is out of warranty, so I will have to pay to repair a unit that I have barely used. In October of 2013 we purchased 4 Edenpure Heaters for our property mgmt business. They were out of stock and we waited almost a month for the order to show up. We wanted them as backup during the winter in the event there was a heat issue in one of our properties. I own an Eden Pure at my home. It has been working for 6-7 years. I use it every winter and it's wonderful. I suggested to my company that we buy these new units. Unfortunately, these new units don't work, have never worked.

I called the company last year and asked if I could return one of the units when I pulled it out of the box, brand new and I got an error. The error is and was the unit is not level. There is one light on but you can't reset, push and off the buttons. At that time he had me unplug that one, plug it back in and it came on. I tried to use it and it worked for maybe a couple of hours, and then the same thing happened. I had the same experience with 2 more of them. Frankly we put them away and got on with our business. This year I pulled them out in November, having a very mild winter here in NM, and discovered the same thing. The 3rd one was never opened before. I opened it, turned it on and same issue.

I emailed Edenpure, after not being able to reach anyone on the phone that could help. Their response was that we had contacted them on November 25th 2014 and that our 1 year warranty had expired on November 20th, 2014. When I explained that "Yes, that was true, but these units never worked. The last one was brand new out of the box, and it also didn't work." I asked to speak to a supervisor, and I again explained I loved my original one, and there was something wrong, right out of the box. I suggested that if I sent back these nonworking units then maybe they could send me two working units?? They said they were very sorry they couldn't do anything. When we tried to call and ask for tech support, they said they didn't have one. We would have to ship them back for repair at our expense.

When they were working they did put out good heat only because they do have a large squirrel cage fan with a high output of air. The reason for this high output of air is because of the phony bulbs that they use for heating need a lot of air or they would only last one day. I called up the factory after I took them apart and they said that I had voided the warranty and they would not send me new bulbs. So with an $700 investment in two junk heaters, I'm going back to the old Markel heaters which I have had for over 20 years and yes they are 1500w which is what the Edenpure are. Recently when it was in the 30's at night it worked fine though it was a little chilly in the morning. Now that it is in the 20's and I have it on the highest setting it doesn't even keep this amount of space warm and it will get much colder than this. Paid a big price for something that once again doesn't live up to its claims. As for even heat it is freezing on the floor and as they say hot air rises and I noticed that when I was trying to get something out of the upper bunk space. Works great, never had a problem, did not raise the electric bill a lot, and was going to buy another one until I read all of the problems people are having with the current models. Too bad, the Gen 3 I have has worked great and done the job. We usually start it up in the fall and it runs nonstop all winter long to supplement our other heat.

I was a recent employee for biotech research and my position was wrongfully ended because the company claims my performance was not good after working for them for 5 months!!!!! Lol, I never got a warning that my performance was bad, I never had a performance evaluation NOTHING. I was just disliked by the STAFF there and they made it out to seem like it was my performance, they can't keep workers because we get paid $9 hour cut back over time and we get two 15min breaks, so you wonder why you call and the reps are cranky.

Well that's why we have all this paperwork to do, 130 calls in queue about the junk Edenpure heaters that break down after 1 yr the heating elements constantly blows out because they're poor crafted. When you send back your heater for an exchange you get another junk Edenpure heaters. That's what my whole day consisted of, was helping with the junk Edenpures. STOP BUYING THESE HEATERS PEOPLE. THEY'RE NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY, oh and the 2014 classic and elite heaters are JUNK, they are not made in CANTON OHIO so please stop thinking they are they are made in USA but not one of the reps can tell you where. They lie to their customers with FALSE ADVERTISEMENT and they treated me bad as an employee. That's why no one stays at that company because they suck.

IF you're out of warranty well sorry for your luck because the company will not help. They will transfer to resource partners and make you buy expensive parts for their junk made heaters that are "SUPPOSE" to last 10-14yrs. These heaters are awful and I will never give this company or their product a good name because they don't care about anything but that COMPANY and your MONEY.

Having a pretty cold winter this year thought we would try it again. Our bill went from 200.00 to 335.00 the first month the second month went to 443.00. Unplugged it immediately. Will never use it again.

We bought one over two years ago when Bob Vila was promoting them, and they were said to be made in the U.S. Recently we needed another one for our home and one for our daughter's home. The representative told me on the phone that they had a new model for 2014, the Unique Heat Next Generation Heater. They had a special because of the "cold weather everywhere" and I could get free express shipping and free upgraded air filters that normally sell for about $50.00. I ordered two, and while snow in parts of the country was probably responsible for the delay, it took about five days to get them despite express shipping. However, only one of the upgraded air filters came.

I called customer service and was told that I could only get one of the new air filters free, that the other one would cost $50.00. She didn't comment when I said I had been told something different when I ordered to two heaters. I asked her to ensure that I did not get any more promotional mail from the company. I was angry not only because of this form of bait and switch, but also because the heaters are not made in the U.S. anymore, but in China. In addition, our original heater had wheels to make it easier to move around, but there are no wheels on the ones that arrived recently although the pictures on the internet clearly showed wheels.

I had bought another product (laundry aid device) from this company last year and it broke down about a week after the warranty ran out. I was told they would send me another one, but I declined because it was a piece of junk. We are very disappointed with this company that seems to have gone downhill so rapidly and completely this past year. We would advise everybody to ignore the Edenpure advertising and look elsewhere if they need a space heater.

I bought 2 EdenPure US1000 Heaters back in Nov. 2011 after doing much research on these type heaters. Bob Vila recommended them, they are purported to be made in the US, and they had what I felt was a great warranty of 5 years. I had to send both of them back the 2nd season 2012 for warranty work (1 for faulty thermostat and 1 for 1 of the heater bulbs went out). What was most upsetting I sent them back at the beginning of winter and when I called... I was told they would have to mail me shipping labels. Three weeks later... NO LABELS, and when I called they stated they hadn't been mailed, so the CS rep said they would send the to me in a PDF format. Bottom line it was almost a month of cold weather before I was even able to mail them back. When I received them...1 was working like new and the other basically only stayed at 1 heat level. But I didn't send it back because the season was over.

Now that unit has gone out completely... only blows cold air, I called EdenPure exactly 1 week ago, and again I was told they would have to MAIL me a label again. Remembering my past experience I asked the CS lady would she please send me an e-mail confirmation when the labels would be mailed out... and she said it would be between 24 and 48 hours max. 72 hours later no email so I called back... I had to beg but this time the lady said since the Labels hadn't been mailed ...they would make an exception a 2nd time and email the shipping label and said it would go out immediately. Approximately 36 hours I called back a 3rd time and this time the lady said she had spoken with the label creating dept. and she was sure they would be mailed out later that day or by the next morning.

Bottom Line, its 1 week later and I just called a 4th time and asked to speak with the same lady that had told me 3 times the labels would be emailed out... but she was busy so I left my phone number for her to call me back. All I can say is, I would never have purchased these heaters from EdenPure had I known how bad their warranty service actually was. If you're looking for a Portable Heater, I would strongly recommend you look at another company. They obviously don't care about their reputation. Thanks for reading.

Our church uses 6 or more of the Gen3 units, and has for a while. One of the units started to blow cooler air and I volunteered to check it out, being an appliance repair person and working in materials testing. My review follows: The plastic cabinet is well buffered from warmer metal surfaces, and all covers have many screws to take out before you get to the wiring and 'guts'. The unit is nicely laid out in its wiring and easy for me to troubleshoot. In finding (2) quartz tubes bad (each bad one was a lower unit of a twin set installed in a copper tube). I found, what I believe, to be the cause of many of the heartaches with these units.

The wide scroll circulation fan has rubber bushing at each end and likely is received by Edenpure (and installed) having only a manufacturing lubricant that I would deem pre-lube at best. The problem - the filter on these units MUST be kept clean, clean, clean to get the most of this blower life before the 'pre-lube' congeals and gets waxy which happens with dust and simple operation of the unit. I find this way too often and identically in all pellet stoves. When this turns waxy, the fan doesn't develop proper speed to permit adequate exchange of heat from the tubes (exchanging heat for cool air keeps you warm and the tubes from burning out from excessive heat).

Diminished air across the exchange tubes means increased heat retention in the cavity which can't be driven out by the fan, even more thickening of the pre-lubed bearings, even slower and slower fan and then the unit trips the high level heat switch which shuts down the quartz tubes for overheat protection leaving only the fan running. Sure, you can reset the thermostat, but these symptoms will gradually get worse and you will likely burn out at least (2) tubes by the time you or your knowledgeable repairman even get eyes on the internals of your unit. Note: I reached in to spin the fan by hand and, instead of spinning ten or more times per flick, it only rotated maybe two turns max.

This company has exceptionally good prices on any parts that may be needed to keep these running. The fan is only approx. $40 compared to the same type of fan costing $246 for pellet stoves. They sell the bushings for a couple of dollars and I'm checking on a quality lube with Teflon to properly lube the bearings. The fans rarely really go bad, just these bearings causing lube problems. This unit will cost $40 to repair both heater tubes, and the existing fan, with proper, quality lube on the bearings, will likely last for quite a few seasons.

I am impressed with the parts offered (and prices) to keep these running, with the connections within the unit and the safety switches and fit and build of the metal casing while keeping this unit light and easy to carry. Hello Edenpure? If you're reading this... how about re-lubing these fans with better lube than what they're manufactured with before you sell them. It'll save you a lot of returns and you'll continue to keep your customers' tootsies warm instead of their tempers. Your delay in doing so is losing you valued customers who don't have the patience to return your product and wait instead of being warm. Just a freebie heads-up from one who knows.

By the way, I deal with these quartz tubes every day, in many other applications, which have been in service for a long, long time. Adequate cool air for their heat exchange is the key. (My test chambers with these tube types and other heater types cost anywhere from $10,000 to $90,000 and I wouldn't appreciate them constantly failing either.) You should be able to expect quite a few thousand hours out of them with adequate exchange air. (I do environment testing in my units for 6 months to a year solid at times.) Edenpure? If you're still reading... I can't fix your lousy customer relations. You're gonna have to do that. There is great potential in your product that is not realized due to one main reason. The ball's in your court. Hope that this helps!

I got the Eden Pure heater out. This is 4 years later & looked brand new. I called the company. I was told to remove the filter & turn it off for 45 mins. then turn it back on. There were always lights; but, nothing worked. My warranty was still in effect until Nov. 2014; however, I would have to pay shipping or pay them $29.00 for them to send me a prepaid label for shipping. I was sent a coupon for $298.00 toward an Amish heater. Nowhere did it tell the price for the heater. I went to the internet for information. It seemed to be another scam. I then looked up Eden Pure reviews and found this site. Now I am afraid if I spend another $29.00 - after I think about $400.00 the heater may work a week and quit again. I now have no job & don't want to further waste my money with a 1% satisfaction rating.

Well, I'm here to tell you my last month's bill was $189.00. This month's bill after running the Eden Pure along with the central heat is now $254.00. My husband is semi-retired now and we don't have the income we had before. This is very hard on us paying these enormous bills; plus the fact we need our electricity (my husband uses a C-Pap).

I just replaced my 4th set of Edenpure "quartz infrared" heater bulbs. And I have a box of dead Edenpure heater bulbs to prove it. The big SCAM is the advertised life of the Edenpure US-1000 or Gen4 heaters as printed on the retail packaging. Suarez Corporation Industries is advertising a 20,000-hour bulb life and a 10-15 year "service" life (website, printed literature and printed on carton) for both their Edenpure US-1000 and Gen4 heaters.

That claim of a 20,000 bulb life in an Edenpure heater cannot be true. i.e. Suarez Corporation Industries/Pinnacle Systems claims of a US-1000 or Gen4 having 20,000 hour bulb life contains as much truth as a politician's typical campaign speech. Someone should be going after SCI for false advertising at a minimum. It would appear that Suarez Corporation Industries/Pinnacle Systems DO NOT TEST their product to validate their advertised claims and I would bet they have absolutely NO component life test data to back-up their advertised Edenpure bulb life claims.

Based on my work in lamp testing, I would speculate that Sylvania gets that rated 20,000 hours of bulb life in their normal testing fixtures/burn racks. Sylvania's bulb life testing, like all other lamp manufacturers, is generally performed in still air with infrequent on/off cycles (once a day to once a week). The air movement inside an Edenpure heater is blowing the coldest air on the base of the bulbs and the bulbs cycle on and off frequently.

Thus based on actual life versus advertised life claims, Suarez Manufacturing Industries/Pinnacle Systems, could not have performed ANY component life testing at all during the Edenpure US-1000/Gen4 product development. And the glaring discrepancy between SCI's unsubstantiated bulb life claims and what consumers are reporting about the actual bulb life with the Edenpure products shows that SCI's claims have no basis in fact.

For reference, 1000 hours is about 42 days of continuous run time. I estimate that none of the bulb sets I have replaced has more than 400 hours of run time. Quite a discrepancy. Where are the class action lawyers on this one?

I purchased an Eden Pure Heater a few years ago and was told I had a 3-year warranty. Recently I got one for my mother and was also told by the representative that there was a 3-year warranty on the same model. After having her heater for 1 month, my mother got her power bill and it went from approx. $150 to a little over $400! She immediately unplugged the heater and would not use it. I then called Eden Pure and spoke with someone in customer service who told me that there was nothing that could go wrong with the heater to make this happen so she put me thru to the service dept. but conveniently I was told by a recording that there was a system problem and I could not get through.

So I then called back and spoke to a different person at customer service and explained the situation again and was told that in fact problems with the heater such as this can occur. At that time, I was told that I could either exchange or get a refund for the heater, that there was a 60-day money back guarantee. When I told her to go ahead and send the papers to send the heater back for an exchange, she said that she would send a packet with prepaid instructions. I then told her that I would find out for sure what my mother wanted to do since she is now unsure of the heater. The representative then told me that there was only a 30-day money back guarantee and that we did not have an option for a refund.

During this conversation she said that these issues were at the discretion of the supervisors. At that time I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told by the supervisor that our only option was to exchange the heater and did not seem surprised to learn that their sales representatives were giving false information to potential customers about the guarantees. What I have learned from this experience is that I am very disappointed with customer service and the representatives of the Eden Pure Company. I feel that they misrepresent their product. They essentially tell you one thing to get you to buy the heater then they do not stand behind their word. With this said, I am no longer willing to tell others about these heaters except to say "Don't believe what they tell you, they are only in it for the money, obviously not for the customers!"

Because it's so expensive to heat with propane, we decided to try heating with the Edenpures a few years back..We now have 5 of them, 4 of the classic heaters and 1 personal heater... We use 2 heaters in the house and one in our studio. One of the classics and our personal heater no longer work after only a couple of years. We loved these heaters at first. They really do put out a lot of heat and keep our house warm in our freezing cold winters..The heater in our studio, which has no other heat source, also keeps it in the 50s running on low... Turning the heater up quickly heats it to a comfortable temp... For this, I would rate them a 5...

However, after a couple of years, the bulbs burn out and will need replaced. The replacement bulbs cost about $100 for the set, and good luck finding anyone who wants to mess with them. Watching videos on the internet on how to replace them yourself looks very complicated, well, actually, kind of crazy!! It's almost like they designed them that way to make it very difficult to replace them yourself..

We now have one unit that is useless because it needs replacement bulbs and the personal heater just stopped working for no apparent reason.. It wasn't even used that much and is only 1 1/2 years old. We bought them all from hardware stores who will not fix them, but just tell us to contact Edenpure. When contacting them, we were simply told we need to order replacement bulbs. When an electric heater costs $300 to begin with, we certainly expected them to last more than a few years before having to put another $100 into them... And what if the replacement bulbs don't fix the problem? Seems crazy to spend $100 on bulbs.

I also question if the bulbs used in the Edenpure are actually quartz infrared bulbs, like they advertise. I watched a video on YouTube, done by a repair shop, showing how to replace the bulbs. The man doing the video, after pulling out one of the burnt out bulbs, was surprised by the bulb, saying he's not sure how they can call it a quartz infrared bulb. It's just a coil inside a tube, and as he said, the tube is not sealed on either end, so dirt can get inside, which is what probably caused the coil to break...

If the bulbs were reasonably priced and easy to replace, I would have given these heaters a 5. But considering the initial price of each unit, having to spend $100 every other year or so to replace bulbs is not a good option...In a 10-year period, you could very possibly end up having $800 in each heater, and they are, after all, just electric heaters!

In comparison, we also have a Dimplex electric fireplace insert, a Charmglow electric stove in our den and a Dimplex fireplace in our bedroom...Those heaters have lasted for years and years with only needing a simple little light bulb replaced now and again... I can't really say that I think the Dimplex's cost any more to run than the Edenpures and they heat a room just as well.. They also look prettier because of the unique flame... When the other 3 Edenpures' bulbs blow out, we won't be replacing the bulbs or buying any more Edenpures. We will be purchasing Dimplex type heaters to replace them as needed knowing the Dimplexes will last a whole lot longer and heat each room just as well...

I turn it on, the fan blows warm air and when the room reaches the desired temp, the fan kicks down a notch and a small warm air flow continues. This is what I think it should do but after a few minutes the unit starts blowing cold air. I have turn it up one notch and the fan kicks off (stops blowing cold air) and then I can turn it back down to the original spot I had it in. A few minutes later it does the same thing again. It seems to be fighting against itself. Why does it do this and is this normal? Also, It has not been that cold in my area this year and my electric bill normally runs around $90 in the winter but the past 2 months it has almost doubled to $170.

On the phone again and demanded at this point a supervisor, she said she would send a shipping label and they would pay shipping. About another month after the cold weather was over!!!!!!! I got the heater. Left it in the box (I should have known better) because this year I plugged it in and it worked for two weeks and did the same thing as the other two heaters, it just quit working. It just stopped and I heard those "3" beeps... Boy, Consumer Affairs needs to look into this.

I did read the reviews at the Edenpure site, they were all sparkling. I wish I would have known about this site. I certainly would not have bought this heater... Beware. Beware, I am not going to deal with this company as far as trying to get my money back. They will not refund under any demands, but if Consumer Affairs does get people's money PLEASE include me...

They sent another refurbished in late March. Winter was over, too late to use. Opened box in October 2013. It worked for 4 days. This time they told me they would send the bulbs so we could repair it. Took almost 4 weeks to get the bulbs. So we will see how long it works this time. Over $600.00 down the drain. Me thinking carbon monoxide poisoning, I unplugged everything running. My primary oil heater was not running at the time. I opened all the windows and I put the Edenpure out on the porch and left the house for several hours. When I came home, everything seemed ok. The next day, I brought the Edenpure back in to see if it really was the problem and it works but in about 15 minutes, the same nauseating experience... 300 $$ down the drain. Winter 2010, I purchased a brand new Gen 4 from the Eden Pure store. It didn't last out the season and I felt forced to return it in order to justify having spent around $360 on the original heater. The replacement came without a remote. Now, two years later, I'm ready to give it away. I have come to the conclusion that there is a basic design problem with the thermostats of these heaters. But also they are made without an actual temperature setting. It's just dots up or dots down. I am amazed at how many times I walk by the heater and it is blowing cool air! I'm planning to give it to the thrift shop... I recommend: I have heard of similar heaters available at certain hardware stores (be sure to buy on sale) that have time settings that you can program your heater to come on at 4:30 a.m. and the house is warm when you get up... and with temperature settings for their thermostats in degrees (numbers -- not dots).

Once you purchase an Eden Pure, all you can do is return it at approximately $50 to $60 in shipping costs. What you receive in return you have no control over. I received an older model (refurbished), no remote control, not as nice as I paid for and returned, and basically, money down the drain. I have made so many negative financial transactions since the death of my husband that I am embarrassed by it! But I have learned very much about a lot of things... Even if Eden Pure may say it has upgraded or changed since moving its factories to the U.S. (did they?), I would not trust this brand name no matter what they make or what they say. Reality is very different from their promises!

After repair, I brought both home and when I plugged in the dangerous one, it shorted out immediately so I took it back to authorized repair shop (200 mile round trip); and after waiting 5 hours, it was fixed. It worked fine for most of this past winter.

Then at 2am, I luckily heard a hissing, crackling sound in my living room and could see the reflection of flames. The warranty center was easy to deal with and happy to replace the bulbs, but we were down with no heat for a week each time they had to be sent off. I ended up tearing one of these elements apart and made an observation on why they are prone to failure.

The element is a coiled spring like piece of metal around a glass tube with the return end coming right back through the glass tube’s hollow center. The return wire burns in half every time! Any good elements out there that work have the wires on both ends with no return coming through the element. It just gets too hot; all that heat focused on that section of wire. I modified my heater to use the different style element and they are more expensive, but rated at 2 years. Piss-poor element design EdenPURE! If you buy, get 5 years warranty or you will be sorry!

This heater is the final of four - five heaters - last Gena 4 bought early in 2012. This heater was one of five as I recall and returned three or four. The first gave away to a family member in another state. Of the ones that I kept, none worked very well and only a short amount of time from what was expected from the price paid. All purchased through the parent company, except one, which was purchased at a local retail store (cost approximately $400+ as best I recall). They refused to deal with me and would not return my money; therefore, I had to go through the company again. After the last one to be returned, it too only worked a very short time. I told my son that whatever happens, I would not return another. I had had it! I would take my losses and consider it lesson learned.

I talked at length with representatives each time that I called and some were less than pleasant. The last one in 2012, I felt like this heater probably was one that had been redone. No proof of that, however, but felt like it had been refurbished. I was sick and tired of dealing with this company. The experiences were driving me up a wall. I live in rural area, am handicapped and it is not easy to take care of business. Had circumstances been different, maybe. Sure enough, it too did not work a month. I pushed it aside and used a Vornado through this winter that I had purchased some years prior. I used it in the kitchen area through the winter and was grateful to have it.

Today, I pulled the Gena 4 into the area that it was needed from where had been sitting and it worked on low speed - hardly sufficient to warm the room. So that is my experience as best as I recall. I definitely would not recommend this product. For what little service I experienced, the cost was excessive and lesson learned. One at a time, I returned them to Biotech Research in Canton, OH at my shipping expense! They sent me refurbished ones, and 4 months later, they began the same thing. The company sent me one set of lamps to replace one heater and told me if I wanted the others repaired, I would have to pay $56.00 per set for the bulbs! What a ripoff! I will tell everyone who asks to not buy this product. So far, I've been out about $650.00 for the heaters and shipping to return them. Except for the one I replaced the bulbs on (just yesterday), they don't work!

I purchased the personal size on 12-10-11. I sure thought this heater would last longer than the 5 months of use. It just stopped working. It stopped working on 12-20-12. What kind of quality is this, I ask. I only used it about 20 minutes in the evening in the bathroom to keep it warm when I showered. Do they stand behind their products?

I've had my Eden Pure for 3 winters now, it worked good for the first, but cold air since. I replaced the bulbs ($60) and then it immediately overheated and shut down, now there is nothing. If you want a good one, buy a Heat Storm. It's half the cost, $199, and local retailers (no shipping to deal with). It works better than the Eden Pure ever did.

We purchased an Edenpure heater after seeing the advertisement on TV - Bob Vila who we thought trustworthy. I say that because of what has happened since our purchase. It worked good for the first year (which we only used very infrequently once or twice a week for a few hours during the winter months). The second year we thought, let's buy the newer model for our Great Room, since the smaller one worked for the guest room. This year (2 years later) we got out our Edenpure - and turned it on and nothing, there was no heat, no blowing fan. I called Edenpure. They quickly told me the unit was out of warranty, but I could buy a warranty for $125 which is good only for 90 days and they would fix the heater. What the heck is that? My electric bill has not gone down, as a matter of fact, I did a comparison and it went up by $30 a month with this heater in use. What a ripoff. Do not buy this. Any class action lawsuit? Count me in.

I purchased a Gen4 EdenPure heater last May. It is now December 14, 2012 and I have not yet received it. I have gotten the runaround and excuses from email and snail mail inquiries. I was even told I purchased the heater in 2009 and not only was it out of warranty but parts are no longer available for it. The Customer Service rep told me on the phone that my heater had been sent to SC. I live in Tennessee. I contacted the people who live at the address in SC, and I was told the heater was delivered there around the first of June, that they still have it, and I can have it if I come and get it. They say they do not want to be bothered with the hassle and expense of forwarding it on to me.

I have repeatedly asked EdenPure's customer service dept. to either send me a new heater or go to SC and get the one they sent there and deliver it to me. A Ms. ** in Customer Service is extremely rude and hateful, and she has told me they aren't responsible. I told them that if I did not get the heater I have already paid for, I will file charges of internet and credit card fraud against them. But apparently they don't care. Since there are so many complaints on this site, is anyone else interested in joining me in a class action lawsuit? I have no idea why they sent my heater to SC. I never gave them any address but the one in Tennessee. I am filing a complaint with the BBB and State Consumer Affairs agency .

Warning! Potential fire hazard. I purchased several Edenpure over the past several years and maintained and used them properly. This year, my daughter took it to college. The front face of the Edenpure warped from the heat. I contacted Edenpure about the potential fire hazard. They informed me that it was no longer within the 3-year warranty and I need to send it in for repair at my expense. Poor customer service and not willing to risk my daughter's life! Throwing $400 into the garbage.

My father and I bought 2 Edenpure heaters (USA 1000) and they both worked very well until they started blowing cold air in just a couple of months. We sent them in and they were returned refurbished. A couple of months later, guess what happened? Cold air again. The Customer Support center was certainly useless! I am absolutely done with this company. What a ripoff.

Today is Dec. 3rd, 2012. On October 25, 2012, I got out my EdenPURE heater that I got last year on Nov. 3, 2011. I plugged it in and nothing happened, so I called customer service center. I told them what was wrong so they told me to return it, so I did in a week. I got a RFB one that was scratched, dented, and dirty, and the back panel was cracked with several pieces in the bag it came in. I got right on the phone, called customer service and told them what was wrong. They told me to call FedEx who delivered it. I said, "Why? If it’s broken, they dropped it." And I said, "No way, the shipping box is fine." Someone in your factory sent it that way. It took 2 weeks for a replacement to come and guess what, it doesn't work at all. I'm getting on the phone after I'm done with this letter and I'm telling EdenPURE I want my money back or I will sue you.

We have had the Eden Pure heater for a couple of years. We are very disappointed in it. You advertise it "will cut your electric bill." Our electricity cost more than double when we used your heater. Also no filter came with it. It does heat our small bedroom well, but not the living room. You have to sit right in front of it to keep warm, when in a larger room. I will never buy another one.

I doubt if anyone will read this, but what the hey. Maybe I need to vent. Just got another Edenpure flyer in the mail today and it reminded me once again of what idiots you think we are. My husband and I are both retired and living on a fixed income. I was really impressed with the hype on your heater, supposed to save us money on our heating bill. We bought your product and was actually very impressed. It did the job very well and we recommended it to many of our neighbors. Well as things usually happen, the thing quit working days after the warranty was up. But we're good people, have faith in our fellow man, ** dumb as a bucket of rocks. So when we got a flyer for even a better one, we jumped on it. We figured the first one was simply a lemon.

Wrong! At least the second one quit long before the warranty ran out. Our neighbors that purchased your product (with our endorsement) are finally speaking to us again, so time does heal wounds. But not for us. No, you keep sending those ** flyers. My husband will say maybe this one will work and I have to tell him no once again - disappointing him once again.

Anybody who's thinking of buying an "EdenPURE" heater, please reconsider. They cost around $400 & they're nothing more than an extremely expensive blow dryer! I bought one & it doesn't even heat my travel trailer, which is only 12 x 30. Without even knowing I had bought one, my sister-in-law purchased 2 this week & both of hers are blowing cold air. They're not worth a crap! When you call the # to complain or ask about sending them back, they keep you on hold for over an hour - at least that's what they did to her. She has 2 young girls, an older daughter & a young grandbaby. $800 wasted hoping to heat her small house this winter for her & her children. Makes me sick. It took her forever to save that money.

Several weeks ago, my husband, aged 83, ordered an EdenPure heater from an ad in the local newspaper. Last week, EdenPure called my husband and tried to "upgrade" the order to a more expensive one. I called the company and was assured that the order was not processed yet and was not entered on his credit card. I cancelled the order outright, and I was assured the order would not be processed and that they would cancel it and not to worry. Today, we received a package from UPS, and my husband took it in our house. When I looked at it, the label said it was from the Fulfillment Center in Canton, Ohio and it was stamped EdenPure on the box! We will not open the box, but what can we do? We have read articles stating that the stove heated because it was plugged into an electric outlet and people's electric bills went out of the roof while the thing was plugged in! Please help us.

My boss at work has one of these (USA 1000), and within 2 months of use, 3 hours at night for 3-4 nights a week, the heater started blowing out cold air. Being the unit is way past the 5 year warranty, I decided to open the unit and see why it wasn’t heating. Opening the case and finding the heating elements, I’ve seen 2 were blown and the end caps were broken off. So I’ve done some research to find parts. I found this page and seen all the negative reviews, so I dug around a little more by going to the BBB website in Ohio. The BBB has a nice bit of info that might interest everyone which includes owner names, lead customer service names, addresses and phone numbers. I’m having my boss get an actual heater from a company local here so the returns or repairs will be done on a timely manner.

I purchased 2 Gen4 heaters and used one a good bit for 3 months, and the bulb burned out. I sent it back for replacement. The second heater wasn't used as much, but it didn't make it 5 months before the bulb burned out. The Replacement heater lasted a couple of months, and the bulb burned out. I would say that the heaters worked for me, but the bulbs sure didn't last! I wouldn't recommend ordering these heaters. I don't live in an area close to a UPS or FedEx store, so getting them shipped back again is not going to be an option for me. I need something I can depend on.

My 90 year-old Grandma bought a Gen 4 last year (2011). The heater worked last winter and worked well. This winter she turned it on and it worked for approx. 2 days. Since this unit is so heavy, I figured this would be expensive to UPS back to Edenpure. I thought I would take it apart to check on the heater element or elements to see if I could fix it. This heater has 3 bulbs and all 3 were bad and 1 had fallen apart!

A little bit of "inside" information about all those Suarez Corporation Industries Edenpure "heaters" blowing cold air seems to be in order here. While the advertising copy on the outside Edenpure US 1000 box touts a 20,000 hour life for the heater bulbs, I have yet to see a set of bulbs in a US 1000 (or Chinese made Gen 4) last more than 400-500 hours of use. Based on what I know about the testing (SCI/Pinnacle did NO testing at all during product development and relied on Sylvania's product rating), I suspect the rated life (20,000 hours) is for operating the bulb in still air with infrequent on/off cycles. After several heat-up/cool-down cycles in the US 1000 heater, the bulb seal opens up and then the bulb gets a small amount of oxygen every time the temperature cycles, resulting in the nichrome wire filament oxidizing to catastrophic failure. (bit of a spectacular light show when it starts arcing) At least the quartz tube is sufficiently thick to contain the light show in those last 20 seconds of bulb life.

You'll know a bulb has died when you smell burned metal (vaporized nickel-chromium wire to be precise). After that happens 3 times (usually all the bulbs die in the same week) the heater will just blow cool air and it's time for you to shell out another $60 (if you change them your self, otherwise expect $100-120). SCI has apparently determined the bulbs are a consumable item in spite of their original claims of a 20,000-hour bulb life.

Customers and employees aren't the only ones who get screwed by Suarez Corporation Industries. There is a very good reason SCI has such a large legal team on retainer.
