    I had a potato cooked with the plastic cover in case it exploded. The potato got so hot it burned & melted the plastic. I was told by the fire department Not to cook any food in this because all the plastic smoke is in the inside works of the microwave, and will poison all the food. The technician from Choice also said the same thing. Because the microwave can turn on, Choice has decided they Can Not replace it. I will find another company when my contract is over.

    Takes 2-3 weeks to get a gift certificate for a replacement refrigerator that broken now!!!! Totally unacceptable in my opinion when all my food is rotting now.     I notified Choice Warranty within 30 minutes of my broken water pipe. After I cut the power to my well pump and mopped up all the water. I called after 24 hours to find out why I had not been notified of when a plumber would arrive. I was told it could take up to 48 hours to dispatch a plumber. I called back again 80 hours after my initial call and was told at that time that they ARE NOT an emergency service. Meanwhile, I am a senior citizen and I had NO RUNNING WATER.....whatsoever!

    It literally took 7 days to get a plumber to be assigned to my claim. And another day to get him to my home. I was extremely satisfied with the plumber who did the work. Not at all happy with dealing with Choice Home Warranty people at all. It is unacceptable as to the length of time it took to get service to my home. I paid A LOT of money for this Warranty service and NO ONE should have to wait 8 days to get a repair and have access to water and plumbing.

    They were quick to respond to my request to have my furnace looked at. They have approved a new furnace. I believe this depends on what the service technician writes in their report. I do have to pay for the additional parts needed to install it, which is understandable. If the furnace gets installed soon and I only have to pay the amount that I was quoted, I would say that the home warranty is well worth the money you pay for it.

    The electrician only inspected the electrical fault for the lack of power in some garage outlets when the actual work was to get power to those outlets, which is what this warranty is for to cover or repair damages. However, he told me that correcting the electrical fault would be an additional cost over the deductible payment, which did not make sense to me. I paid the $75 deductible just for him to visit and look, but understand this is not fair nor does it align with good warranty service.

    The purpose of the warranty was to fix any electrical issues, but when I filed a claim for outlets without power in my garage, the electrician only came to inspect and did not actually repair the problem. He said fixing the outlets would cost extra, on top of the deductible I had to pay just for him to come look. To me, paying a fee for a simple inspection without the repair work being completed goes against what a home warranty is intended for. A good warranty service should fully fix the reported issue, not leave the homeowner still needing repairs after paying the deductible.

    We purchased a 5 year Choice Home Warranty policy a few months ago. On September 11, one of our air conditioners was not functioning. We called Choice on September 12. Finally, on September 21, a technician came to fix the air conditioner. The technician was excellent. Our issue was timing. We have a young child and found the response time to be unacceptable. If this was a heating issue in the middle of winter, we fear having no heat for that long. Why did it take Choice so long to get our issue repaired?

    Spoke to Elliot ** about getting a service warranty for my refrigerator that's 1 1/2 yrs old. Mr. ** offered me a policy and went over the specifics like should I need service all I have to do is call and one of the reps would get a technician out to me immediately as they have technicians all over.     I am a returning customer. Has been purchase multiple contracts since 2019. I used to buy them for $420 each. Since I am a returning customer, they kept the same price for me and always give me 2 months free. This time, I purchased again and the rep told me there is a tax, which I remember I never pay before but he convinced me that there is tax now. So, I paid $420 plus tax. $464 something. Also instead of give me 2 months free as promised he only gave me 1 month. So, I felt weird and checked my records and saw that there was never tax on a policy before. This is unethical and illegal when you collect extra money and said it is tax. I will report this issue to IRS if the company don't straighten this issue. The upper manager need to investigate this unethical behavior.

    When I had AHS if they had to replace a ceiling fan they paid for the whole ceiling fan. I find out now you guys only pay $70. So now I’m kind of sorry I switch to Choice. Save me a couple dollars a month but when it comes to a repair, I’ve paid more money out to get the repair done for the replacement sound. When my contract is up with you guys, I will cancel and I will go back to AHS. At least I don’t have to pay additional for replacement of ceiling fans, or other things.

    Arrived back from vacay to a water heater that had gone out. The next day a technician came out for the fee of $85 just to tell me that the water heater had gone and needed to replaced (this is a Tuesday). It was approved same day to have it replaced for a large fee of $600.00 because they need a permit (it's being replaced and we never needed to pay this before) and extra cost for cooper screws etc....Mind you my water heater is only 5 years old and prob still under warranty itself but they didn't care about that.

    I called Choice to dispute these extra charges and was told though it would prolong the process even longer. Very horrible considering we already have to go 4 days with no hot water already!!! No sense of urgency and no sense of care from either the plumber or choice. In the 20 years I have lived in this house this is now my 3rd time replacing a water heater and through a warranty company and never had to pay such high fees and never had to wait this long to have the unit replaced!     Choice, just like most home warranty companies, are always looking for the cheapest repair and only use technicians willing to accomplish this goal. Here's my latest experience with an A/C that was freezing up. Choice booked a technician connected to a system impossible to contact, and scheduled over a week out. A/C not working I remind you. The appointment time was 8a-5p, so you need to take the whole day off. The tech spends 3 hours at my home, but 2 of the hours he was in his truck (not exaggerating). Tech says there's a refrigerant leak, which is the obvious diagnosis, and he says he's gonna change out the evaporator coil and just needed to get Choice to approve.

    He leaves and comes back over a week later saying he needed photos of the leak. He had another guy with him and neither of them could find the leak so they now diagnose the leak in the "line set", which Choice does not cover. I received an email from Choice almost immediately stating they are denying the claim. By now it's been 3 weeks without the A/C working so I called a reputable HVAC company to diagnose and then install a new system. They did a proper pressure test in the line set and found NO leak in the line set. I submitted this diagnosis to Choice, they reviewed the paperwork and said they're sorry they cannot help with the claim at all since I had another system installed without their approval. Very disappointing. They have been ZERO help with this claim.

    When making a claim, Choice makes assumptions rather than facts in order not to honor contract or not to pay for appliance replacement. They did not honor the word of the technician they sent out who said the appliance needed to be replaced. They delay their decisions in order not to pay. After many calls and a given the runaround, I have to wait for a scheduled phone call in a week while my appliance continues to leak. I’m so disappointed because they had good reviews. At this point of time I just want my money back plus the $85 I paid the technician. I have such a headache dealing with these people. They want to wear a person down so you’ll give up.     I called CHW because I came to My home In Fla and AC wasn’t working. I called CHW and they sent out a technician to look at the problem. The tech said I needed a new motor which he called and they approved in 15 minutes. After replacing the motor the tech also said the compressor wasn’t working either. He called to let CHW know that it still needed another part. CHW kept asking questions for a week which I answered. I kept calling and customer service said, "It’s under review and give us 24 hours." I kept calling back every day to find out what’s going on because of the house was 98 degrees. They kept say the same thing, "Give us 24 hours." Finally after a week they gave the AC company approval.

    Now the AC company says they need to send CHW the parts that I need to fix because they will send the parts to the AC company. So now I have to wait who knows how long now for that to happen. Meanwhile I’m living in hell with temps 98 degrees all day and night. I will never use this company again and being in real estate I will be telling all brokers out there not to use this company unless I get compensation for what I’ve gone through the last 2 weeks now.

    Choice is a very dishonest company and does not cover what it should. I have been working to get AC replaced for over 2 months. First informed that I would have to pay $1275 for uncovered "modification" that are not actually modifications. After going back and forth realized there was no choice and moved forward. Was then called and told that Choice was having issues getting the equipment, which seemed shady as tech could get it in a couple of days, and they would have the tech provide. However, that would increase my cost over $1600 and reach the cap so that nothing else on unit is covered. I asked to wait for their unit and was told that it was no longer an option, so again had to move forward.     I just moved into a home and got stuck with this company. The washing machine was not working when we moved in. The technician "Jerry" came out and said that the order was for a dishwasher and not the washing machine. But he did look at the washing machine and let us know it needed a part to be ordered. The next day the technician called to say that this company would not allow him to forward the claim due to it being under the wrong appliance. I called to speak with a representative from CHW who said since it was their mix up they would fix it. The next day the technician "Jerry" called again to tell me they still would not let him further the claim. I called again and spoke with "Shay" who told me she would NOT allow me to speak to a manager or supervisor and that she could fix my issue. I asked her over 10 times and she would NOT transfer me to a supervisor.

    I told her the issue and she said it was a robot who took the claim information wrong, not a person, so they were not responsible and that I needed to cancel the claim and start a new one. I explained that the technician "Jerry" came out already and we paid already. She said the issue was fixed and there would not be any more problems. My new claim would go to Jerry and I would not have to pay again. The next morning I got a call from another technician who was not Jerry. They were assigned my claim and wanted to come out. I explained that someone already did come out and that my claim was suppose to go to that technician "Jerry". So I yet again called this company to get this issue fixed. The girl who came on said she could not transfer me to Shay or a supervisor.

    I argued with her like I did with Shay saying I should be able to speak to a manager or supervisor and that everyone tells me the issue is fixed bot no one actually does fix it. So I had to threaten to get the BBB involved and possibly a lawyer only then did she transfer me to a supervisor!!! What a pain!!! With the supervisor the issue was resolved in 2 mins. What a pain in the neck this company is!!! The technician "Jerry" mentioned this when I was speaking to him about the mix up in the claim. He said he has been working with this company a long time and they are anything but easy to deal with. GREAT! Lucky us to be strapped with them for all our home appliance needs! :(
