He knew immediately what was wrong. Two previous service calls yielded no resolution from different service companies. He took the time to get the right part and installed it. We do need to use the washer to see if it works OK, which is very likely. Good job!

On 12 December 2023 I placed service request for Microwave oven not functioning. On 15 Dec a Technician came out & did an excellent job of explaining what was wrong, the replacement part request process, etc. Morning of 16 Dec I emailed Choice because still No response of technician diagnosis, etc. Later on 16 Dec, I got an email from CHW stating No Replacement, only $191 Lowes gift card in Lieu of Replacement. I requested a Case Manager & got a call on 19 Dec from Sean ** stating that he did not care.
1). Our Stove Top Oven Also could Not be used (due to Vents from microwave Not working) or #2). We could Not get a replacement microwave from Lowes until possibly the end of January 2024 at the Earliest. (because it takes 30 days to even receive the emailed Lowes gift card, & many microwave ovens are not physically in stock & have to be paid for to be Ordered prior to delivery or pick up). #3). He did not care that we have Medical reasons we have to cook at home & cannot eat fast food or processed oven food for next 30-60 days, totally almost 3 months). #4). Sean suggested a check be mailed from Choice, but last check from Choice was suspiciously lost in the mail, then the wait for Another check and Re-process wait time had to start All over which doubled and almost tripled the total wait time for a check to arrive in the mail, so a check was not the best option.
The Only feasible option was wait 30 days for an email Lowes gift card for $191. Cheapest Replacement Lowes Microwave is $379 minus taxes, installation & removal costs. Customers need to be Provided information Prior to purchasing Choice Home Service Plan and not just in small writing on page 20 of contract, that a Microwave oven that Choice determines will need to be Replaced, versus Repaired will pay out Barely 1/2 the cost of the Lowest price replacement microwave and Most Importantly that the payment will NOT arrive until 30 days "After" Choice determines to send Gift card, not the day your non-working item was reported. I found small notes that said replacement cost may not be 100%, etc, but I did not expect Less Than 1/2 of the cost of the Lowest Price Replacement Microwave.
I also did not see in writing Anywhere the "30-day wait" for replacement gift card of less than 1/2 cost of replacement microwave oven. So 12 Dec reported microwave not working to 19 January 2024 hopefully getting a Lowes gift card via email that will pay Less than 1/2 the price of a Replacement microwave and Another possibly 2 more weeks for Lowes to order and install the Replacement microwave. This means homeowners should be aware that they will most likely not have use of a microwave oven and stove top oven for 7-10 weeks or more depending on stockage at their local Lowes. It very well will still take this long waiting on a check, then reporting and waiting on the check that never arrived to be recut and resent. Very disappointed in the service from Choice Home Warranty and "Petrified" to see what will happen if our heat or ac unit goes out.
Waiting 6-10 weeks and less than half the total cost reimbursed, max of $3000 per unit per year, etc. Customers should be informed they may only get LESS than 1/2 the replacement cost and Wait approximately 6-8 weeks after 1st reported to Choice Home Warranty to get the funds in Lowes gift card or check format. If I Knew this Prior, then I would Not have been So let down, disappointed and actually in shock. I really expected more from Choice Home Warranty, especially since paying up front for 8 years and even opening a case to explain the lack of use of Stove Top and 1 month more wait time to get funds from Choice, total time without Microwave Oven and Stove Top Oven use almost 2 months, etc.

I am quite pleased with the Choice Home Warranty Company for their reasonable monthly rate and service fees. Also, for every service needed, I have always been able to easily get in touch with Choice Home Warranty Customer Service. The Ease of access, prompt service response, and always sending excellent, knowledgeable, Professional Service People to complete the required repairs and parts needed.

I ordered service about a month ago and I just got one problem taken care of last week. I had a plumber come out here and I gave him $85 but I hadn't seen him since. I don't know what happened to him. He said I got a leak and he would have to order some parts and come back. I've left messages to Choice and I haven't heard back from them. It’s about the same way as the other claims I had with them. The techs came out and looked at the issue. About a month later, after I called, they came back and fixed it. I'm very dissatisfied with Choice Home Warranty and thinking about just canceling it. I'm not getting good service from them. Last summer, I was out of air conditioner in this 105-degree heat for about a week and a half and I couldn't get anybody to fix it. Choice finally sent somebody else out here and fixed it in 15 minutes. And I got pneumonia from it in a 105-degree heat.

Mira from First Class Air came to my house and did a very thorough inspection and fixed my furnace without any parts and without trying to upcharge me. He discovered that an air tube was clogged and as soon as he unclogged it the system fired right up. Just two days before, a tech from Summit air tried to charge me 3K to replace a bunch of parts.

The technician was friendly and knowledgeable about what was needed to fix our Kenmore Elite refrigerator and freezer. Thank goodness we do not need to buy a new one especially at this time of year with Christmas only 4 days away.. Having Choice Warranty has saved us once again. It's been well worth the money we paid for our plan because we have had to use it several times over the past 4 years.

The plumber, Noah **, was very courteous, knowledgeable and kind. He gave us lots of information about our plumbing system, and how to keep it running smoothly. Good plans. Excellent customer service. Outstanding coverage and service. Every household should have a coverage house plan with Choice Home Warranty. Home maintenance with other companies do not ask if you are a senior citizen, and to me that is a plus. The plan I purchased covers me for 3 years and I am able to sleep at night.

Technician arrived and saw the problem. Technician seemed very experienced. Ordered the part and said someone will be back to install it. Hopefully that will happen soon without any problems. It will be tough without a garbage disposal but we will manage. This all premature since the problem is not fixed yet. Hopefully there will be another review after the problem is resolved.

This company is deceptive. Was told they only allow repayment at wholesale price. Would not pay fair price for replacement. Very disappointed and dissatisfied. Would not recommend. Would rather repair than replace. Understood but if replacement is necessary they don’t want to pay. Why pay for expensive insurance if it doesn’t honor the agreement? Big ripoff! Find another company.

We had to pay $75 fee instead of $65 for service call. I want to understand why it was $75 instead of $65. Technician was very professional and knowledgeable about what needed to be done. Everything was done well. We would like for the technician to service our system again because he performed a professional job to that water heater upstairs. Technician called before coming and arrived on time. We will contact Choice Home Warranty again as needed to repair the things at our home.

Sprowls mechanical folks were really thorough with the diagnosis and gave proper recommendations to fix our furnace issue. They did a bandaid repair while waiting for the home warranty team to approve the expenses of heat exchanger. Choice Home Warranty has to improve its process of really vetting well a claim before rejecting blindly. But would absolutely recommend the hardworking folks of Sprowls Mechanical.

My Samsung Refrigerator was not generating water or ice. The water started working by itself & we don't know what the issue was. The repairman took the icemaker apart and got it working again. The technician gave us advice on some weekly maintenance tips to help generate ice in the icemaker. Ge was knowledgeable & fixed the icemaker.

Technician came on time, he was pleasant and started working right away. He explained what he was doing and what was wrong with stove. Explained stove needed parts. He couldn’t do anything until he put in the report. Stove could not be used until parts are received. Not known the time estimate. Technician said I would hear back from insurance company.

I had a doorbell as well as ceiling fans repaired, and the service has been all right. In the beginning, it was a little rocky because people would come just to collect the service fee. I had to change my tone and use some choice words, then it got better. I like the fact that Choice Home Warranty honors the claims, but they're not efficient. I heard a commercial where somebody said that they were out the next day, and that's not true. It takes days and sometimes weeks.

Filing claims with Choice Home has been pretty smooth. Speaking with a representative for any company right now seems to be nearly impossible, so I just do everything online because that's the only way I see people respond. After submitting the service requests, about a week later, I hear that somebody's coming out. But when the techs come out, they don't really want to do a repair. They show up for the $75 that I pay for the service call, but the companies that come out don't really want to spend a lot of time with me or with the problem. I've had two plumbers look at my shower and they didn't want to put in parts or do anything. They just tightened something up and said that that should do it. But it didn't. So far, out of about the five claims I made, I've had two techs who got the job done.

My dryer stopped drying, so I put in a claim. Within no time a service personnel contacted me with an appointment date and time. When the service personnel showed up they found the problem but couldn't find the parts to fix it. They let Choice Home Warranty know and then CHW replaced my dryer. Choose Choice!! I'm glad I did!!

I've been very pleased with Choice Home Warranty. They've done everything they said they would and they did it immediately. I've only used the home warranty on one thing and I've done that twice. The first person they sent out to do a plumbing job didn't do a very good job, but I was out of town, so I didn't realize it until I got back. They only guarantee the work for 30 days and that had expired. The person refused to come back. I called again, then Choice got a different plumber and he was wonderful. I should have reached out to Choice and told them not use that first plumber anymore, but I was so busy that I didn't do it.

The young man "E" in the sales department was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. After mentioning that I was a senior citizen, I was able to get an even lower rate. He also assured me that if I had any trouble being reimbursed by my current Home Warranty Company, to just call Choice, and they would handle my reimbursement. My heater went out before Thanksgiving. It was just fixed today, December 20. This is insane. I spoke with several reps from your company, all were rude and unhelpful. No one would let me use the reimbursement because they said I used it in July. I did not. I paid out of pocket and was never reimbursed. The technician that came was very good despite CHW customer service.

Just purchased home warranty from Choice. Spoke with Daniel, he was very informative, very thorough and very professional. He walked me through all options and made it very clear so I could understand everything. I would recommend anyone to check this home warranty company first. I've just purchased a home, and have reviewed a lot of the competition and choice home warranty as in all star rating. Daniel also explained to me different packages and what would be the best for me and my home. Very pleased with customer service.

I was told my first month would be free but I noted that before I could get off the computer the first month payment was already taken from my account. Also I guess the way you get the $75.00 off that was on your website, it is taken off your monthly statement. If this is the case that is ok because my monthly payment is $50.00 instead of $53.00. I think the gentleman was trying to make sure I got the best deal offered for now. I appreciate his taking the time to speak with me. I can tell you this he is qualified to be a salesman. He thinks quick and very business like.

Have an electrical issue with the lights. They sent a very nice and informative electrician to the house. Replacing the old fixtures to solve the issue and Choice approved it. Very pleased with the result of the request for warranty support. This is my first time with choice so I am excited to continue my warranty after moving away from Sears home warranty.

It was easy to file a claim and get an appointment booked. The rep came out quickly and was kind and appeared honest about my needs. I was able to pay my deductible via Zelle which was convenient for me. I didn't have to replace my furnace like the previous vendor suggested a few days prior and that made me feel good.

The replacement process could use some updating. For example, the Lowes Certificate is not for me. Second the cost of the replacement has always been at least twice what is given. When I purchased this warranty, I was led to believe that they would repair or replace same. So, each time I have to come up with out-of-pocket 1/2 of the cost of the appliance.

I was denied a claim as not covered. The issue is I called customer service before I requested service and I was told twice it was covered. Service came out and I paid a $85 service fee. Thereafter the claim was denied, thus I’m out $85. This is not fair as I would have not requested service if I wasn’t told it was covered. I must admit I was a little surprised it was covered. That is why asked the agent to check and make sure. She put me on hold to check for sure and confirmed. I am trying to appeal however the agent Cassandra I spoke with was so rude I will try to call again later. I have only been with Choice for about 9 months and this experience has been bad.

Very happy with technician. Very unhappy that we have to resort to contacting the water heater manufacturer after CHOICE had a new one installed 3 months ago & it's leaking all over the basement carpet. You should repair it & get your fees back from the technician YOU SENT to replace it who was obviously incompetent. Instead, I'll have to make a claim with my homeowner's to replace the carpet. Very poor customer service policy!!!

I paid for a 5-year contract, and I am in my last year. I also purchased a plan for my son. Over the past year:
* I have noticed a decline in response times to assign technicians.
* My son also had issues with processing a claim.
* Additionally, I recently had a claim declined (microwave), when I questioned the rationale to start the appeal process, I was then given a different reason than what was listed on the denial e-mail. I requested technician notes and never received them. The appeal process was a complete waste of my time. They scheduled a 15 minute call to basically just read what they sent in the email. In my opinion, there was clearly no intention to work with the customer.
I've had home warranties for 20+ years with little issues. I also was pleased with Choice until this past year. Not sure what has happened, but I recommend consumers shop carefully. I will most likely just purchase year to year in the future to avoid being stuck with a company whose customer service is not up to my standards.

When I bought the house the older woman I bought it from included two years of Choice Home Warranty. In the 5-6 times I have tried to use them, every time they managed to take my fee and NOT do any work. Sink backed up? Pipes are old. AC leaking, ducts are old. Bathtub faucet leaking, corrosion not covered. Toilet leaking, same. Why would anyone in good conscience sell an older woman a warranty on an old house that covers nothing that is old! They should be ashamed of themselves for conning an old lady and wasting my time!

The technician that came to my home was absolutely wonderful! He was precise, professional and fixed the problem very quickly. He arrived earlier than expected and immediately diagnosed and fixed the problem. I highly recommend the company that was contracted. Happy with technician and response time. There was a problem with Choice Home Warranty support - I have two furnaces and both had the same problem. I understood both would be serviced at the same time with one submission. However Customer representative did not make it clear for me to submit two claims - one per unit. That did get resolved on same day first claim was serviced. Second unit was serviced the next business day.

I put in work order for microwave, the company said it’s not worth fixing, but did not bring another to be put up. I must pay a company to put in not in contract. Called Choice and they said it takes thirty days for gift card for Lowe’s. This was for my rental at **, this is business for me. Contact renter Janelle ** upset for the Holiday.

Jr. the tech who came out was very courteous and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He also pointed out another issue that was missed by a previous tech and offered to get me a quote to get that fixed as well. I'm very grateful to have my heat fixed when the temps dropped tonight to an all time low.

Tech was very polite, addressed the issue with a thorough inspection of the washing machine, diagnosed the issue and filed the proper paperwork. Tech even cleaned up after himself, which I cannot say for other repair folks through the years. Wasn't totally happy with the overall compensation award for replacement being only approximately 50% of a new device.

I had Choice Home Warranty as my needed household friend until last year, 2022 went thru an oversight, covid etc. I neglected to renew my coverage. My friends are also covered by Choice and are very pleased with their services. I, too, am satisfied knowing that I again have them on board to cover my back, so as to say. Glad to be back on board with them.

The techs were a little early completed the job in a timely manner stayed long enough to find the problem corrected it and did a couple little extra things highly recommended, great job! They were the same technicians that repaired my dishwasher and they did a great job on that as well.

Since being a member, I've not had a good experience. The first time I had a small leak in my fridge. It took over a week to get service and the service person wouldn't call back for three days. Then yesterday I put in a claim for my stove burner not working. That as early yesterday morning and still no response. So, I called in 24 hours later, spoke with a rep. He stated it may be another two days before I hear back.
This is actually worst than the last company I was with. To make matters worst, I was told one price when I signed up. A few months later, they increase the price of the service. I only found out because I put in a request for service. So, I guess I can say I'm not impressed at all with Choice Home Warranty. I wouldn't be a good person to give a reference for your company, since the service has been bad each time I called. If they decide to kick me off for leaving this review, please give me at least 30 days till I find another company. Thank you.

The response from Choice regarding my questions about charges and time frames have not been prompt or forth coming at all. I have emailed several times regarding charges and time frames with no reply from choice. I would expect a breakdown of costs and required payments since it was noted I would still owe $1500.00. Hopefully I will have a response promptly.

Had to get my own technician to repair my heat. Then to get reimbursed they want the tech to answer all kinds of questions. Something he was not very willing to do. I had no choice but to get my own repairman. XMas is next week I was not going to be without heat with a house full of people. I feel as though I have possibly made the wrong decision with this company.

No one returns my calls. Closing out claims that have not been resolved. I have to wait from October 2023 until today and no resolution on my Claim. My Thanksgiving was a flop and seems as though this Christmas will be a flop because I have no way to keep my food in a fridge that is working!

Very prompt response and repair. Repairmen were courteous and respectful. However, they smelled terribly of cigarette smoke which I didn’t appreciate in my home. They made a quick diagnosis and repair, got the correct part and installed it. Two prior plumbers could not figure out how to fix the problem.

I am 75 years old with a bad back. I arrived home from a trip to the store. My garage door will not open. I parked my car and went inside to check why? A piece of the door lift was broken off the door. Yes the door can be manually lifted. I cannot lift more than 20 pounds. I can’t get my car into the garage or my wife cannot get her car out. I placed my home warranty claim and immediately had a claim number and the company name for the repairperson. I even had an appointment time for three days away. I took the liberty to call the company and the gentleman listened to my story. He said he could come the next day to repair the problem. This more than meets my expectations. First claim I had filed.

Our furnace stopped blowing hot air on a cold winter Sunday morning. We opened a claim and the technician was our first thing Monday morning. Turns out the furnace needed a new motor which was covered by the Home Comfort warranty. We paid the technician fee and our furnace was running properly by noon!!

When I bought my warranty I was not told that it would take 30 days to be reimbursed for my wall oven. So unless I have the money to buy a new one I have to stay without it until the check comes. So if my refrigerator breaks and cannot be repaired I have to stay without one for 30 day because I don't have the money to buy one.

I was pleased with the way Shawn took quality time to go over The Choice policies and procedures. He went down the list of categories one at a time to make sure I understood what was covered. The agent made me feel that my questions and concerns were important. This phone call made me feel much better after what I had experienced from my previous warranty company.

The process with Choice Home Warranty is all online, so it's easy to submit a claim. Their website is fairly simple enough. The cause of the problem is a little restrictive, but otherwise, it's okay. With Choice, you get what you pay for. I pay 1,800 for five years, so that's 360 a year, and for what I'm paying, it's the best value you can get. This is a very cheap coverage. They always send someone to repair but the experience always depends on the kind of technician you get.
In the case of our refrigerator that has not been working properly, three times a year, Choice sends out someone to repair it. It gets repaired, it works for four to six months, then it stops again like clockwork. So I told them multiple times that instead of repairing it where they are spending anywhere from 300 to 800 every time, they should just give me 500 so I can dispose of the refrigerator and get a new one. Or they could replace the refrigerator. Either option is fine. But they said no and that as per their policy, they could only repair. So every year, they're spending somewhere from 1,000 to 1,500 for the repairs.
Also, when I put in a claim, the service has been very prompt. But nowadays, it takes a month to get the refrigerator repaired because it takes a week for the technician to come in and see what's wrong with it. Then some part keeps failing again and again, so they order the parts, then they come back again three weeks later and do the repair.

Choice Home Warranty's service call is a lot better than another provider that I had. Their rep went above and beyond. They explained to me when mine would expire and when I should sign up for renewal. They're also cheaper than anyone I've found so far. But they don't cover enough like doors and locks. I recently had my furnace serviced. The repairman took the door off to check it out. But he left the door off. I had to tell him to put the door on. Now I get notifications about the humidity being lower than something in my house since he left.

Our powder room toilet leaked clear water. Deniza, the plumber checked the dripping leak and immediately diagnosed the problem. She proceeded to replace the wax ring which fixed the problem. Deniza was professional, efficient, and a pleasure at our home. I would request her again for any of our plumbing issues.

He did call but started asking me about my septic system. Said he would call again but I haven’t heard from him in two days. Called a more reliable company who does commercials. It took seven days for a technician to come to my house for a visit. That's a long time for a family of nine to live without a functioning refrigerator. Once the technician arrived, he diagnosed the problem right away, and gave us information for a temporary fix while the part arrives in the mail. Summary: the service we've received so far is great. I just wish it didn't take so long to get a guy into the house to fix the problem.

Since purchasing our home warranty with Choice we have had several occasions to use their service. The most recent development is a non working washer. Choice quickly engaged a repair service. They were here to address the problem within two days. Unfortunately parts needed to be ordered. So we are awaiting completion of the job this week. Other problems have been solved within days. An electrician fixed a fan/light. Our HVAC was serviced in short order all for our agreed upon service charge. But the best thing about Choice is their prompt attention to our needs. We had a different service prior to this and getting service was a problem. We did not seem to be their priority. With Choice, our needs are their priority.

Save your money and just go with professionals. This company finds ways to always deny claims. Most recent was my gasket for my refrigerator. Had me pay the $45 to the technician and then say it is not covered. Why not review claim before dispatching a technician to save your customers time and money as also need to take a day off. Not the first time they have done this. Glad my contract is coming to an end. SAVE your money DO NOT go with Choice Home Warranty. Company should be ashamed of their policy.

The replacement refrigerator like the one Choice is trying to replace through Lowe's they said $900 credit in Lowe's would get me a replacement similar to ours. After checking Lowe's the equivalent is fron $2,999 - over $4,000. Also, after checking ours it is over $3,000. I requested a review, let's see what happens. Have not heard yet from Choice.

I've used CHW services for 5+ years. Every time I made a claim, CHW responded to it within few hours and set an appointment with a technician. Mr ** has been outstanding in his knowledge of wells. He has been able to demonstrate that knowledge with his explanation of what is happening with our well. He has been working with us on the best ways to get the well repair done that will be the best possible outcome. He has also been able to explain the cost of the repair and the possibility that the repair will not be effective. They are good company. They will try to fix your appliances and if they can’t they will offer credit towards new. I’m getting $327 credit toward new oven since then determined they can’t fix my old one. It just takes time. I placed my claim on the 29th of November and the appliance company preferred a part to fix it on the 15 of December. The service was canceled without any notice to me by Sears (appliance company that worked with CHW on my claim). I called Sears on the 14th. No response, so I called Choice Home Warranty.
The customer service is great with CHW. They sent me an email the next day that Sears emailed them that it was determined the oven was too old to fix. I wonder if Sears determined it in the beginning of December that it wasn’t fixable and just didn’t not bother to send me an email to say that. CHW send me an email on the 16th that I’ll getting credit towards a new oven at Lowe’s. That might take a up to a month to get the credit. So it’s a long process. But I have had them for maybe close to 10 years and planning on keeping them.

During COVID, I had an issue with my washer. I had a really hard time with them. They couldn't find anybody to come fix it by the time I found somebody. They sent me a Lowe's gift card but you can't buy a $500 washer right now and I didn't wanna spend another $4000. Otherwise, when I have an issue with my air conditioner, they came. I had an issue with my stove too and the techs were very good. They came very soon and were really nice.
Choice responds and the price is really good. But it was kind of hard for me that I had to pay all of it at once. They give you a better deal if you do that.

The contracts are inexpensive. I’ve come to realize you get what you pay for. They will do everything they can to avoid covering a claim. They wouldn’t cover an internal toilet issue due to corrosion. Have you looked inside a toilet? It took their vendor more than 90 days to repair/replace a sump pump & then they posted a tiny blurb on their website under claim status that I owed the technician over $719 for non-covered charges. They fail to be specific in any of their communication. They don’t pay their vendors. I’ve had several of their vendors tell me they don’t like doing work for CHW because they don’t get paid. I’m being fair here & stating the facts as I see them & not sharing the emotional turmoil I’ve experienced the past 90 days trying to get this resolved. Now I have to go through mediation & arbitration because I am not going to let them get away with this. DO NOT PURCHASE A CONTRACT WITH THEM/THEY ARE THE WORST.

My heater did not work. I called Choice Home Warranty. It was very easy to call and report the problems. Choice Home Warranty scheduled an appointment for me within 24 hours. Then they sent a repairman to fix the problem on Friday. I received a call, they will be there the coming Monday to replace the broken parts. It was handled without any red tape. So I bought home warranty with the expectation that my appliance and other items would be covered if they break. They sell you on if it can't be fixed they will replace with new. My case a 20 cu upright freezer quit working so I filed claim and they sent a tech out same day. CHW determined it was better not to fix and replace freezer. I was offered a small fraction of cost to replace and disputed amount.
The rep that called me was rude wo let me talk or state why I believe the amount should be more. By end of call gave me no choice but to accept small fraction of replacement cost or I would get nothing. I was repeatedly told they do not pay retail price but wholesale price. I cannot get wholesale pricing so therefore cannot replace item without significant out of pocket cost. It also state they will replace a item of similar size and energy efficiency but I am not able to do that. I will not renew when policy is over and will not recommend this company to anyone.

One old, filed in July, Air Conditioner, refiled this week as it was never addressed by Choice, except to tell me I could find my own repair company, pay them and then get reimbursed by choice, if all conditions were met. Technician came out within days. He was pleasant, polite and clearly knowledgeable. He figured out the issue quickly and sent his report. He explained that once Choice Home Warranty (CHW) had reviewed it they would let him know the next plan. He said he would call me with an update and it would be that afternoon. CHW got back to me within hours of receiving the diagnosis offering us Lowe's gift certificate to put towards the purchase of a new washer. I went ahead that afternoon and purchased a new washer that was available for next day delivery. Very impressed with CHW especially the speed in which our problem was resolved.

This warranty company lies to its customers. They tell you they will get a technician to your house within 48 hours. They tell the technicians who accept the job they have 10 days to get to the client. The call center is a joke, I got magically disconnected every time (5 times!). I tried to speak to a supervisor who was never "available". They will not find you a weekend technician. They say it's the technician's fault that they won't go out to you. Really? It's this cheap company who will not pay higher rates. As a matter of fact they tell you you pay the service fee. This company left us without a furnace in the cold for several days in the MN winter. They really just hope to wait you out and figure you will pay out of pocket.

I had to call in a second claim over the weekend. I had a "choose the prompts" call. Not a real person but managed to get through the call and establish the claim. The issue I encountered was the choices for the type of heating system I have. You're going to have to add "heat pump" to the choices because most homes in North Carolina have heat pumps to supply heat. For now, I've stuck with "heating system".

Prior to the end of initial sales call, I informed the salesman John I was no longer interested, although we had initially agreed to a 1-year plan and I had provided my credit card info. He continued to try to upsell to a longer plan and was talking about service calls, which led to me to ask if a service call would cost me anything and his answer was not satisfying to me, so I informed him that I was no longer interested. After hanging up, I received a welcome email so I checked my credit card and saw that he had charged my card, so I immediately called to cancel (never should have been opened), and got the run around from multiple people at Choice Home Warranty, before the original salesman called me back and after repeatedly telling him I was not interested as he continued to try and sales pitch me, he finally agreed that I was cancelling.

Your company wasted my time, when I called and reported my well issue, the person I spoke to did not tell me it wasn’t covered. I waited five days to hear from a plumber. No one would respond to your request for one, I ended up calling my own Plumber, who came out. We sent you a request to have it repaired, just to be told it wasn’t covered. I wasted four or five days with water running wild, which cause my pump and electricity to constantly run. If I would’ve known it wasn’t covered, I could’ve called my own plumber and he would’ve been out the next day to fix it. So no I’m not happy with this company at all. This is the second time, I’ve had an issue with my well and the item wasn’t covered. I cannot believe a pressure tank would not be covered, when you need to have it in order for your well to run water to your house. It’s not a luxury like a water softener it’s essential, you need to reevaluate your well warranty.

When repairman arrived, he briefly discovered the problem but had to order the part in order to make repairs. I paid for a policy online. Then I get a call with a sales associate trying to sell a larger plan. After telling him I couldn’t afford it more than 15 times and him still pushing I hung up. He calls back 2x in a row. I answer and now he starts to belittle me for hanging up. And he continues to try and sell me more. While this is happening another associate is calling me. So I answer that call and he asked what happened. I explained it to him. So what does he do. Try to sell me more. Are you kidding me? Unless you want non-stop phone calls to upsell you more. I left my previous home warranty company because there constant constant frustrating communication issues; whether it being non-US based personnel or incompetent personnel. So when I made inquiries concerning customer service, the sales person assured me that there were US based customer representatives and the customer service was all exemplary. He even went so far as to name the company I was looking to leave as he said, "That's a common complaint of the customers who are leaving them." All relative I guess because I could barely get through the initial customer service call. There were language and comprehension issues.
CHW arbitrarily schedules the service calls. When I received mine, I found the appointment to be inconvenient for me. I called the service provider in attempt to reschedule the appointment. The call was received unprofessionally as if he was talking to an acquaintance not to a customer. Next, I spoke with a customer service rep concerning their customer reimbursement program, the rep told me it didn't exists. I knew he wasn't telling me the truth because I had received an offer.
There are "gatekeepers". So forget about speaking to anyone in authority because they are always in meetings and you return call request will not be honored. Further, do not attempt to contact sales department unless you are looking to make a purchase because they will abruptly transfer your call or disconnect it. The assurances that I was given before I purchase this plan does not exist. All of the above I experience in my attempt to make my first service call. Buyers know that you are going to experience some frustrating moments. Diligence and perseverance will be necessary.

The work was done fine. The only problem was they showed up after the four hour window and did not call and let me know that they were gonna be late. I had called them and they said they were running two hours late but then showed up about 45 minutes after the Window time.

Washing machine rinse cycle was not working correctly. That’s why we called them out. The repair guy came out spent about 45 minutes trying to figure out what the problem was after various cycles of running the rinse cycle. It seems to be working correctly. Repair guy said to keep an eye on it and if anything happens within the next month-to-month and a half to let them know.

Reported a non-functioning heating system late on Monday night. Repairman from Mericle Mechanical was here on Wednesday at noon. He worked for 5.5 hours to fix the problem. A new motherboard was required. Unfortunately the one he had on his truck was defective and didn’t work after he installed it. He was back the next morning and had the repair finished in just over an hour. Came home from work to a warm house. Hurray!!! Friendly, knowledgeable and professional repairman (Dillon). Very pleased with the service I received!

Our experience has been the worst! The microwave went out on November 17th. It took 3 weeks for a Sears service man to replace parts, just to find out something else had to be replaced also. Upon checking, that part was no longer available. So he was to report this to you and have you OK a new microwave. That was a week ago and we have heard NOTHING from him or you!!! We still don't have a working microwave! This isn't bad service, but NO service! Do something!!

Attentive Plumbing technicians arrived within a couple hours which was great, because our whole house was stopped up. They cleared the blockage within about an hour. Courteous and respectful. Wish they had business cards and some identifying information, but they were referred by the warranty company so I assumed it was all good which it was. The truck was unmarked as well.

Why won't you show me the receipt for what you paid for? I still had to pay $550 to the plumber for code upgrades. Those parts didn't cost more than $150. I believe I paid over $300 for labor and I want to know what YOU paid him for labor. AND... I can't register the product for the warranty w/o the receipt... and you won't give it to me. Why?

My Accu Bake oven has not been working properly for a number of months. The last repair person told me before leaving my house that the parts needed could not be found. He made a return date if parts could be found. In reviewing things online I saw that the repair company had canceled their next scheduled repair appointment. I didn’t hear anything from CHW until I contacted them. I didn’t get a satisfactory answer response on that call. A few days later I contacted CHW again to see whether they were going to get me a new stove as mine could not be repaired. I still haven’t heard anything back from CHW. Time is a factor as Christmas is just around the corner and I don’t have an oven that is working properly.

This was my first time using Choice Home Warranty. My HVAC (heating) unit quit working after a storm came through and I lost electricity. It took Choice Home 3 days to get someone out to my home to assess the unit. This was while it was some of the coldest nights we've had this year. I had very little heat from the heat strips so it wasn't too terribly bad. The HVAC contractor quickly assessed the problem. I got a message from Choice telling me what I would owe which was just a price. No itemized price or anything so I could see what would be done. I was a little upset about that but there's nothing I could do. The email from Choice would only let me accept it or not. So I accepted it and am now waiting to hear when the contractor will be back to repair the unit.

This score may change dependent on what CHOICE does about this most recent billing debacle. I sold my home that was covered by CHOICE over a year ago, to downsize to an apartment as me and my wife prepare for retirement. I called and notified CHOICE and cancelled my policy. Recently, I was going through one of my bank statements, and realized they have been charging me for over a year! This is not okay, and this is the problem with the language barrier you get when these organizations outsource their services to foreign countries. If CHOICE Warranty corrects this issue promptly, I will come back and share the positive feedback, but for now, I am not happy to have spent over $700 for a home I haven't owned for 13 months.

My water heater stopped working. Caused a food with damage to walls. Called on my Choice Home Warranty to get it fixed. Choice home warranty told me to read the fine print that states the “water tank” in the “water heater” is not a covered item even though the policy states that water heaters are covered. Our refrigerator, a Whirlpool Gold bought new in 2009, started making banging noises. It took weeks and many phone calls to get a repairman out to look at it. After inspection, the repairman said it was the defroster system making the noise and nothing he could do. He also said that basically it was towards the end of its life. Also, if the appliance is still working, warranties really don't cover anything. They have to STOP WORKING.

My ejector pump fuzzed out about 5 days ago. I immediately placed a work order for a plumber that worked with ejector pumps. Initially I made the appointment, but after further investigation of that service and reading all reviews, I called and cancelled the appointment. They were rated one star. Why would I want a sub-par plumbing service working in my home. CHW was unable to locate a reputable plumbing service located in SW Michigan. They offered me the option to find my own plumbing service and they would reimburse me for services rendered sans my service deposit. I chose that option and am very pleased with my selection.

The service technician had deemed the stove/range unrepairable because replacement parts were not available. Choice Home Warranty reached out to me and wanted to settle with me for $335. Before I agreed to anything, I got on-line and started checking the pricing for basically the same Whirlpool 4 burner range in stainless steel as we currently have. They were priced at $827.99. That's not including delivery, installation, LP conversion and haul away of the old one, which would put it at around $1200. I'm 72 years old. I can't do this stuff anymore. That means I had to come up with $865.00 out of my pocket plus the $85.00 I had to pay the technician for the service call. I could not persuade the customer agent to give me any more than the $335.00. She claimed my old stove was smaller than the new ones?
I pulled out the owner's manual for the old range and the dimensions are the same. Somebody is lying. Regardless... I have been paying them around $70.00 a month for about three years and this is how I get treated? I've done some math. Over the last three years, we've paid Choice Home Warranty $2520.00 in premiums for their service contract. Even with this claim, they still made $2185.00 off of me. I'm thinking if I cancel my contract with them and start a savings account for home repairs and put the same amount as I give them every month, I'll be way ahead and won't have the hassle of arranging for repairs and can choose my own service technicians. Just do the math!

So far I've not been disappointed working with CHW for what would be a small amount of claims since having CHW with me. It's easy to conduct business online than via phone but when needed you can get someone to speak about a claim. Claim responses are pretty fast. Maybe CHW should re-assess the dollar value for a replacement item since today's costs have inflation built in, but that is probably something for the underwriters :)

Can’t wait for that with a stroke victim in home. Always read fine print and then things get twisted around to home choice benefit. Says part is covered under furnace warranty. No not true. That’s only for 10 years. My furnace is 15 years old.

Greetings, I have been very happy with my service, but I do have one complaint. My fridge has been having problems and a tech did show up and got it running, but then the fridge started freezing items in the fridge side. I didn't know what to do so I left a message in the old claim and created a new one just in case. I received a message saying I wouldn't be charged initially, but was charged 85 for that visit. I found it strange that I would be charged for an ongoing issue. My fridge is still freezing things after the visit, hopefully I won't be charged again if I submit a claim.

Based on my current experience I would never ever consider leaving a positive review for Choice. It has been close to two months, and I have yet to have my microwave replaced. If I didn't have so much money invested in paying for the annual fee and initial service fee, I'd go out and just spend the money so I didn't have to wait any longer to have a working microwave. Also, it's very annoying to receive countless spam emails from Choice. I don't know if I can unsubscribe to Choice emails without accidentally canceling the Choice emails I have to receive.

I contacted Choice Home Warranty on 12/11/23 about a bad garbage disposal and completed the online form. I received a notice the next day that Simrel Plumbing was coming between -11 am and 3 pm. Miles arrived at 11:30 and had a new disposal with him and changed it out within 30 minutes. He said to call if there were any problems.. So I was happy with CHW and Simrel! Your first assigned company was Upline. Every time I had a phone interaction with them, I felt I was talking to someone who was running a childcare facility. When they answered the phone, it was never professional, there are always kids in the background, playing, laughing, crying,. We set an appointment Time for them to come out and then they didn’t show. When I called them, they said that their person had gotten in an accident and would be able to come out the next day. But I had to call them they did not call me. The times that were set for appointment were always from 3 to 8 PM.
My last conversation with them to reset the appointment, I requested a morning appointment and up line told me, “No, no I cannot do morning appointments we only do evening appointments.” I do not feel that this company was well researched for your company to use them and to represent you. They have poor ratings. At this time based on this experience, I am looking at switching to a different company that can use more reputable technicians.

The fee is $75 for your repair as long as you have a plan with Choice Home Warranty, But it is worth it in the long run when you could be paying $250 or more for the repair.

My dryer quit working and at the time, I didn't know what the problem was. It took Choice a long time to get a tech here for the first visit. When the tech got here, he told me that there were two boards bad in the dryer and once he gets the approval from Choice to buy the boards, he would be able to repair them. He had trouble getting approval for the boards because Choice told him that I was only gonna be able to fix them one board at a time and he said he wasn't playing that. Choice had a second guy come out and he had the same experience. He called me and said he was sorry that he couldn't do it. Then Choice had a third guy come out and he looked at it and he couldn't get any approval for parts on the day that he was here. So, he told me he would have to come back and he never came back, and Choice never responded. I had to go online and get with them about getting the guy back out here.
The communication from Choice has been a bit slow and from what two of the technicians have told me, they did not want to pay what they needed to get the job done. I haven't talked to the third technician about anything like that. He disappeared for almost two weeks and nobody got ahold of him. But Choice finally got a hold of him again. He thought he was coming back out here for the very first time until he checked the records to see that he had been here once before and was able to call me and confirm that and then call Choice back. They finally gave him approval to buy the pieces he needed to fix it yesterday and he's gonna be here on the 15th to put those parts in assuming that those parts arrive on time because he had to order them. So, the latest experience I've had with Choice has been less than overwhelming positively.
I wasn't happy with the frequency of the reps communicating with me but they responded in a timely fashion when I communicated with them. There could be some definite improvements in the communication in updating how things have gone, what's going on with the technicians that they hire and how things are going. In the past, I've had very good experience with Choice. But this most recent time, it's been almost three months and I still haven't got a dryer. Choice has been very responsive to any questions or calls that I've made. But the largest complaint I have is their inability to get anyone to come out here and do the job well.

The claim process was very efficient and quick. After some confusion about the coverage, I was satisfied with the end result. A claim for a broken garage door spring should consider the coverage of both springs and not just one, not doing both will only add another claim for the replacement of the second one in the very near future. It's like your headlights when one goes you should replace both.

It would be nice when calling in to file a claim and one needs to speak to a real person for a specific reason that the voice recording, say after repeating herself 2 times, would ask do you need to speak to someone? Instead of repeating herself 5 times. I think if we just needed to file a claim without any special circumstances we would respond to her request within 2 times. But to have to listen to her repeat time after time after time is infuriating. We are not children, we are adults whose time is valuable and should be treated as such. You're trying to force us to do otherwise sucks.

Lee of Alexander Heating and air came out the next day and diagnosed the problem. Brandon came back yesterday and repaired the problem. Could not have asked for better service. I like Choice because you use independent contractors who care. Thank you!

I filed a claim for a washer repair and 3 weeks later they have yet to schedule the repair. I just kept getting emails saying they were working to find a technician in my area. Waste of money. I would NOT recommend them. Each attempt to “escalate” my claim was met with a canned response.

A main spring broke, there are 2 springs on the system and CHW would not pay to change out the second spring in spite of the fact it could be a safety hazard. If this second spring breaks in the near future then you will have to pay another service call. This is not common sense on your part.

Garage door still not fixed. Don't need Choice Home Warranty anymore. I feel like I'm wasting my money with this. I called in a claim for my pool pump last summer and I ended up changing that out myself as well. You all haven't fixed anything I've called in. I'm done.

Original claim submitted on 12/2/2023. On Monday (12/3) claim acknowledged an assigned service contractor. On Tuesday (12/4) and determined a total replacement was required. The water heater was not replaced until Monday (12/11). Unexceptionable! This should have been placed a priority and not considered a luxury. No one should be without a water heater for that long.

The folks at Choice have been and were today, knowledgeable and fair in making a request. The only problem I had was understanding the call taker... In the past Choice and dealing with them has been a very good experience...

I have been a customer with Choice Home Warranty for a very long time. I think since I been a customer of this service company, I have not had to use them very much, but the times I did use your services, their repair persons were very well mannered, very capable and quite knowledgeable regarding their craft! This company was very skilled in planning, executing their employees by putting them on repair jobs that matches their particular skill set and this is why I stayed with Choice Home Warranty for so many years!

Make sure you read the fine print on replacing the heat and air. They will let you be without heat in the middle of winter for weeks. They won’t replace the unit because there is a part available to fix it but it will take six weeks to get it and don’t even know if it will fix it but let us freeze our toes off.

I love Choice Home Warranty, they are always prompt and on the job. I am never disappointed and if you have a issue with the vendor and you are dissatisfied they will quickly correct the problem.
