    Just got off the phone with Frankie from Choice Home Warranty. I initiated the call I got from Choice, from the internet. I was going to purchase the year of Total warranty with some incentives. But after talking to Frankie, I decided to purchase the 5 year plan with an additional year free.. 6 years total, plus better incentives. No increase in in the plan over the years. Contract can be cancelled within the first 30 days. Sounds good!

    My microwave quit working 1 week ago. The technician came out, he was great! Now I’ve waited another week for parts and the technician is scheduled next week. It will be almost 3 weeks for the repair to my 2006 microwave. I am impressed that my old microwave will not end up in the landfill. But, I’m unimpressed with how long it’s taken to make the fix. My 2nd complaint is the microwave had 2 symptoms. The technician ordered parts for 1 problem, but he couldn’t explain the 2nd. If that 2nd problem re-occurs, I’ll have to pay another $75 service call. I was hoping I’d get a better deal due to my monthly payment.

    The bad - Sears cancelled the first appointment, they didn't call with an approximate time and the tech didn't call when he was on his way. The good - the tech (Julio) was nice and competent.     Our oven/stove broke on Thanksgiving day while I was cooking our dinner. We filed a claim that night and by morning Choice had someone scheduled to come see us.     I waited nearly a month for them to put someone to my claim of my water heater leaking. Their inability to assign someone to it made the issue worse & it flooded my house. I had to turn off the water to the house. I called them & they said they can’t find anyone & I can find my own & they will reimburse me. I found someone in 2 minutes; they couldn’t in nearly a month? They came out to fix the issue & now they don’t want to reimburse me because they want to approve it first. My options were to let my house flood or to pay to stay somewhere while they take their time. They wouldn’t have paid to fix the damage or a hotel room. They are a terrible lying company that will do everything to not help you but take all your money.

    I opened a claim stating my glass shower door in the master bath is not closing. The claim was accepted and a plumber was sent to my home; he collects his $69 at the door and walks to the bathroom and says he does NOT work with shower doors and walked away. Then Choice Home Warranty contacts me and says they don't cover shower doors in their warranty. I'm left wondering why they realize this after collecting the money and wasting my time. It's one of the worst experiences even talking to a case manager. I would highly recommend not to use this service. If they don't cover shower doors then why accept the claim. They could have rejected the claim and saved me time and money.

    Logged into my account to start a claim for a problem with a non-functioning AC unit. Usually Choice is pretty fast with responding.     The service since has been very poor. First there was the Heat Pump. I was given appointments twice that were not kept. The service provider finally made it and stated the pump really needed to be replaced. CHW could however fix it. However it would take weeks to get the parts. I chose to skip using the warranty rather than deal with June in FL with no AC.

    Then there was my cooktop. The service provider tried to order the part from Sears. They do not make it that part anymore. CHW could not find it elsewhere. For over a month I was given the run around on replacing it per the warranty. Many phone calls. Told it would take 48 hours to get back to me. It took 29 days before they finally agreed to replace it, actually give me a gift card from Lowe's which would be great as I had to replace that stove already after so long. It would at least be something. Meanwhile life happened. By the time I found the email with the link for this gift card it was 30 days old and no longer worked, just like the stove.

    I would have pay an new fee.... Which has gone up 20 dollars when I paid for a 5 year contract specifically so my fee would not go up. It is the same stove that still doesn't work and that I ended up replacing. No thank you. Do. Not. Get. This. Product. It is probably fine for something minor. They do have people who answer the phone. This is something. But if you have a replacement to be made? They do not their word on that.

    The 2nd technician, Jordan, was very good, & very thorough. He kept in touch about his ETA early in the day so I was able to get 2 short errands cleared.

    HOWEVER, the rest of my Choice Home Warranty experience was miserable! Trying to call and TALK to someone was completely frustrating & nearly impossible to do. The call in menu prompts are unclear, & I kept getting disconnected. The same thing happened trying to call A&E Services aka Sears Service.

    When I did get through to a Choice Home Warranty agent, after a 20 min hold, the connection was terrible, and the agent's heavy accent & pronunciation of English was almost impossible to understand. Add to that, the agent wouldn't listen to what I WAS SAYING, and just kept reading from some pre-written information sheet that didn't address the reason for my call. The service techs, particularly Jordan, were good, but the rest of my experience was horrid. I would NOT recommend Home Choice Warranty to others because if how awful it was to contact a live person that I could understand.

When he received word from Choice, he told us Choice would not fix the machine and we would be given funds for a new machine. When I went into choice's website I saw no option for having the machine repaired--only the option to receive Lowe's e-credits so I could "pick out what I wanted". I read all of the fine print and NOWHERE was it stated the e-credits would take up to 30 days to receive.     I prepaid for 3 years in advanced for $1200.00 in total. I called them 3 times for different problems and nothing got fixed each time. Once you are prepaid it means they got you by your balls and there is nothing you can do. When their repair guy shows up on your door within 2 minutes he will tell you this problem is not covered under insurance policy and if you want it fixed right now it will be $450.00 Plus call cost.     We recently purchased a home and as part of the negotiation, we were given the option to have a home warranty service, unfortunately, it was Choice Home Warranty, which has been terrible on getting to replace an appliance which it was evaluated, there is no way to repair, and they immediately closed the claim, saying they could not replace, after escalating, they said they would replace and send us a Lowe's gift card, they sent us a link which does not work to start the replacement process and they closed the claim without the replacement.

    We called them again to let them know, that their link doesn't work and we still don't have the coupon or card to get the appliance as they noted on their email, now they claim they need to send another technician and we need to pay again the $75 Dollars for the visit, to reopen the claim and to start over, this appliance needs replacement, we had 3 months with this back and forth and their incompetency to resolve is frustrating. Do not purchase this service through them, you are wasting your money, I pray no other appliance or issue comes up in my home because I can't count on them to cover the warranty of my home.

    I have 4 plans with CHW, one for each of my home. My first claim on the garbage disposal that went out was replaced by CHOICE after the claim was file. The plumbing company they used, Pikes Peak mechanical, for this claim was professional and got things done. Then when my dishwasher at another property stopped working in May, 2023, I filed a claim to get it addressed/repaired. They sent out a technician to do diagnostic, who choice claimed did not send back the diagnosis and that it would not do anything until it got the diagnosis.

    When I called in for status, Choice kept bouncing my calls around and asking me to wait for it to hear back from the non-responsive technician and then closed the claim saying it was resolved. I had to call back to let them know that the issue with the dishwasher had not been resolved/repaired (June/July time frame). The claim was then re-opened but it continued to stay in waiting to be accepted by those providers who work with Choice. They sent out another technician in October but when I inquired about the status of my claim, I was told that it is back to “waiting to be assigned” mode.

    The last appointment was set for November 21. I was home to accommodate that appointment. The tech they sent said that he would submit the diagnosis in the system to Choice by EOD on Nov 21, yet the status said Choice is still waiting for information from him. Needless to say, my broken dishwasher is still not addressed as of today, November 22.

    Another claim I had regarding my two-way switch to my hallway light located in my basement stopped working. Choice sent someone out to do diagnostic and his diagnosis was that the wire from the breaker to my switch was cut/broken and the fix was to have him tear into my walls to connect a line directly from the switch to the fixture up on the ceiling. I tried to ask the tech to check the beaker of my basement to see if that was the case instead of his proposed solution. This tech not once check to see which breaker in the electrical box operates my basement or that switch. It of course denied the claim to repair my switch due to new wire needed to be run, per that diagnosis. The point here is that the companies Choice uses are hit and miss. Had this claim been authorized to repair, more damages would have been done.

    The sales department are really nice when they tried to get to you sign but if they sense that you are not signing, they can get quite hostile and mean. I thought that getting the plans for my homes was to help putting my mind at ease and not to worry too much but it added more stress on top of the stress you get when things break when you are treated this way by the company that promises to help alleviate the stress.

    In general, I'm pretty happy with Choice. However, in one case in Fayetteville, North Carolina, my tenant was without heat for almost a month. I purchased a portable AC because they couldn't find anybody to come out. When the contractor came, they diagnosed everything and said the system was off and Choice was not going to cover. They sent two other technicians. But in the meantime, my tenant was without cold air.

    In the property where I live, I had an issue with heat and it took Choice half a month to send somebody over. One guy came out and he was very rude. I tried to call him and he said, "Don't call me. I'm at work." Later on, I texted him and said, "Sir, I'm going to be your customer. You come into my house tomorrow." But he said he was not coming. I asked him if he could let Choice know about it so that way, they could assign somebody else. So, Choice is dealing with various contractors and not all of them are pleased for the work.

    Finally, the technician came on Wednesday. I called Choice on Saturday, and they said they still don't have a report. In the meantime, I am without heat in New Jersey for 15 days. So, since Wednesday, they didn't get any feedback from the contractor and they were not able to help me. Finally, they made the decision on Monday saying that it was not normal wear and tear. The furnace is in the attic. You're not expecting me to go in the attic and vacuum the furnace because it's in the attic. How can I abuse the system? I had to hire somebody on my own to fix it.

    I wish that Choice could work a little bit better with me and try to be a little bit more understanding and if you're trying to send somebody for half a month, that's a mistake. Either you're going to fix it or not or let me know you're not going to be able to fix it and I'm gonna have to hire somebody else on my own. I also wish they could be a little bit more updated on where the case is.

    Choice fixed the leaking sink in one of my apartments in Carolina, and they came back saying that the sink needs to be replaced because the technician tried to retighten everything underneath and, for some reason, the sink got damaged and they said they're not covering the sink. So, there are some things that I am not very pleased with. However, as a positive thing, I have an issue with a garage opener here in my New Jersey house. The technician came, looked at it and diagnosed that the system was not cooperating with the transmitter. He was able to get the answer from them and approval to replace the garage opener right there when he was standing in my garage.

    I knew dealing with a home warranty company was going to be irritating but the lack of communication was pretty bad. I recently bought a house and the warranty was switched to my name (the company sent me information on the home warranty in my name). I put in a claim for my dishwasher because it was not working properly. A few weeks later I had to put in another claim for my garbage disposal and at that point, I asked for an update on my first claim. They said that someone had been assigned to my claim and would be reaching out. I tried to get a little more information about who and when and I did not get an answer. Last week I called again to determine if the same person could look at both of my appliances since I had heard from and had an appointment for my second claim.     I called to inquire about a plan yesterday morning and was sold the “Total Plan” for the discounted rate of $528 for 12 months, plus one free month, and an $85 service call fee. Unbeknownst to me at the time, about 30 minutes before I called I was sent an email from a Choice salesperson (after I submitted the form online requesting a quote) that offered me the same plan for $499 for 12 months, plus one free month, and a $75 service call fee. Not a great start to be given one discounted rate when I call but offered a better discount rate by email. Obviously had I have known I had received an email citing a better discounted rate I would have responded to the email and not called the number in the website. Also, when I asked the gentlemen I spoke to if there are any exclusions his response was “oh no, we cover everything” and he started to list things like faucets and valves. I stopped him because clearly there are many exclusions stated in the plan.

    On 11/11/2023 my boiler stopped responding to the thermostat in one zone of our house. I filed a claim with Choice Home Warranty and an appointment was set for 11/12/2023. The repair service person came and determined that the motor for a zone valve was going bad and submitted it to Choice. He also said he noticed that the air vent was wearing out and will submit it as well. The next day Choice denied this claim, stating that it has been determined that the boiler is air bound so the motor failure is not due to wear and tear. I appealed and spoke with a case manager, who said that the while the motor is covered under the policy, because they determined that the boiler is air bound, they will not cover any subsequent issues, even if they are unrelated to each other.

    I followed up with the service person, who added to the claim stating clearly that the boiler is not air bound and the motor failure is due to wear and tear. Choice Home Warranty ignored the statement and denied the appeal anyway. If Choice Home Warranty can fabricate reasons to deny claims for parts that are otherwise covered, despite their own service operatives stating the issue for their denial does not actually exist, this is a bad faith denial and Choice Home Warranty should be held responsible.

I did receive an email that the claim had been made. After a couple days I called in to ask the status. The customer service rep was rude and unhelpful. This is not the way you treat customers.     It's easy to get someone to come out, but it's hard to get them to fix it. I use the website for the simple fact that you don't have to speak to a foreign person that doesn't understand you. Their website says they'll have somebody call within 48 hours, which they usually do. But they'll call you on a Tuesday and say, "I can't come out till next Monday." They get there and you think they're gonna get the issue fixed. But every time, they say, "You need this part." They gotta order the part and it takes another two weeks to get it.     I have nine policies with CHW and am a landlord. Gas water heater stopped working at one of my properties. Tech insisted water heater be replaced as unit was 12 yrs old and parts and labor to repair wouldn't be worth it on that old of a unit. CHW ignored this and insisted on repairing unit instead. Tech tried to make the repair with costly repair parts but unit had partial explosion when attempting to get the new burner going further damaging unit. Went back to CHW, explained what happened, and that unit would need to be replaced. Was told verbally by CHW over the phone that they would approve the replacement, to go ahead and do it, and they would send me an email to upload the receipt. I called tech and had them replace the water heater.

    A day later, after never receiving the email to upload the receipt, called CHW back where they claimed they would never approve something like a water heater replacement over the phone. Said it would have to go through their formal diagnostic and reimbursement process first. Four days after they verbally approve replacement, CHW refused to pay for reimbursement of the new water heater. No apologies for leaving a tenant without hot water for days. No apologies for their confusion and incompetence. No apologies for me being stiffed with the bill to replace the hot water heater when it's fully covered by my policy. No money back either.     Original Review: So far I've only made the claim, but almost immediately received a response that they had received the claim. However, from past experience I know what to expect. First there will be a prompt response from the local service provider to set up an appointment. They arrive on time after giving you a call or text to let you know they're on the way. The technicians I've dealt with are experienced and knowledgeable and usually quickly identify the problem and correct it. In my case some parts had to be ordered; but as soon as they arrived they came to install them. I wish I could state some negatives to make this review come across as more balanced, but honestly I really can't. This is based on two claims to CHW. I'd be happy to send another review for the two claims I've made once the service has been completed.

    I live on Social Security, and for me, Choice saves me money, because when you're up in age and you only have only one income coming in, you gotta pay for everything. Having Choice is cheaper. Even though I pay 75 when they come for a house call, that saves me money because most house calls are 100 and some dollars more just to walk in your door. So, the cost is reasonable, and I like them for that reason. Another reason is they're prompt and they do everything right the way they're supposed to.

    I’ve had Choice a couple times and they did good the last two times, so I recommend them. The first time around, I didn't because they upset me with the air conditioning problem that I had. I had the air conditioning company come out and check the unit, and they said that the fan outside was gone. The unit wasn't running good the way it should. It needed to be replaced, but when Choice Home Warranty came out, they said, “It must have been from a lightning strike or something like that.” I said, “What? No. A lightning strike didn't happen. It just was old.”

    My husband put in a whole new system in 2003, and here it is, ‘23. That's almost 23 years later. They also said I didn't take care of it right. Whoever wrote up or put in the report evidently didn't do me any justice. It's how you word it with Choice Home Warranty, and that's why they didn't cover it. The second and third time I used Choice, they were a lot better.. I had a dishwasher that wasn't draining the way it should. It was clogged up and the repair man fixed it. He put a new piping in.

    I've called Choice twice, and the two repair people I've had have been very good. One was from Sears and the other was from Unlimited Appliance. The first time I called was for my refrigerator and it took 17 days before it was fixed. They had to find somebody in the area to do it, and those people couldn't come for 10 days, then when they came, they had to have a part. The part was ordered, but the repairman couldn't get back for another week.

    I had another claim, which was for my microwave. The push button to open the door didn't work. The repair guy came out yesterday, and he said the microwave is quite old. He didn't have a part, but he took it to his truck and managed to maneuver it so he could fix it. He got it working, and that didn't take as long ‘cause of what it was. He was from Germantown up here, which is not far away. Choice has to find people in the area, and that’s the problem.

    Sometimes, submitting a claim to Choice Home Warranty has been fine, and at other times, it's been awful. The claims representatives have been 97% good. I use their website every time I file a claim. They don't load all the information in. So when you're trying to follow your story, whether I want it or the person I'm talking to wants it, the whole story isn't always loaded in the system. The technicians have been challenging half the time and wonderful the other half of the time.

    There was one time when an alleged plumber who came to the house was abrupt. He didn't fix my issue. I still didn't have hot water in my bathroom sink. It was fine everywhere else in the house. The plumber came in and said, “You have to let it run longer. It's got a long way to come from the water heater.” So, I left it going, and it was still cold. Then he came back in and he turned it on, and warm water came out. He left, and two days later, I had no hot water again. It doesn't come up at all.

    I turned the knob and turned the hot water off. I turned the hot water all the way on. Then I closed the knob at the bottom, and I showed it to the guy, and he said, “Oh, that has nothing to do with anything.” I was thinking of adding a tankless one because my hot water heater died. As far as Choice Home, I would tell others to proceed with them with caveats. I would tell them to be vocal. They gotta be their own advocate. When my pool pump broke, they sent out someone who didn't know what they were doing. They sent out another guy from Costa Pools who was wonderful. So now, whenever anything goes wrong with the pool, I request Costa Pools and they say, “Oh, he's not available.” I will call Costa Pools and say, “Are you available?” “Yes, I am.” I called Choice back and told them they were available.

    Having Choice Home Warranty, you gotta read the fine print. For instance, I had a 90-gallon hot water heater and when it died, they didn't cover that. I just had my air conditioner wire die, and they won't cover that. I said, “What? I have AC coverage. I have electrical coverage. Why don't you cover a wire?” I read and read, and that's considered tracing, and they won't cover it. They won't cover that wire. It's one wire that goes through the attic to the outside. It took 45 minutes to do. It was $600. It was a chunk of money.

    I go on the internet when I have a claim and it's easy. The turnaround time is 48 hours and I've never waited more than two days to at least get an appointment scheduled. I had a claim for my garage door and a young man who came out to work on it. He was amazing and he never missed a lick. When the parts to the door arrived, there was a lot of assembly that needed to be done on the rails and the chains. Before he ever opened the box, he went to his toolbox and got out every tool that he needed and laid them out on the floor where they were gonna be needed. He then opened the box and laid the parts out on the floor where they needed to be. He proceeded to put them together and he never backed up. He knew exactly what to do and how to do it. It was like watching a robot work.

    When he had the whole thing assembled, it was a long, cumbersome set of rails that had to be picked up and installed against the ceiling of my garage. He did that himself. He had a system of doing that. Pick it up here, set it there, get under it here, and push it up. It was amazing and there was absolutely no time lost. He was working single-handedly. I watched most of it. I hope the company realizes what an asset they have in this young man. I was very impressed.

    Depending on what the prime quality that people want, Choice would be one of two. I've had a couple of offers that are cheaper than Choice. If price is your prime objective, Choice would be second place. For me, they are the best overall. I renewed mine for next year. The marketing is way hell overdone. I must have gotten at least 10 people calling me about wanting to renew. It was a pain. I heard the sales pitch so many times, I could give it. When somebody renews, Choice needs to have a system where you can turn off the salespeople.

    My experience with this company was not good at all. First of all it took you guys days to get out here which was not good as it was an emergency with my refrigerator and now I have lost all of my food. Secondly when you did finally get out here they found out it could not be repaired and you are reimbursing me with a Lowe's card that takes 30 days to receive towards a purchase on a new refrigerator so what am I supposed to do in the meantime as I need to get a new unit asap as I have no way to keep my food in no fridge and need to get a new unit now.

    I will be canceling my membership and filing a complaint with the Better business Department in my state.. I will also be submitting review on all social media aspects. No customer service has helped me at all and now I have to purchase a new unit out of pocket immediately as you’re not sending a credit out for 30 days towards the purchase of a new unit, so how am I supposed to keep food in my house and not buy a new fridge right away.     Elderly people are not used to computers so using the website has become difficult as well as getting Choice on the phone sometimes. I haven't used them much but when I used them, it was good. The guy who came to see our stove last time figured out what was wrong and he ordered the parts. He said that when the parts came, he would come and fix it. To diagnose, the guy took less than half an hour and there was a different technician to fix it. It took a little longer time because my stove was recessed in the counter so you couldn't see the screws. But he figured it out.

    I compared Choice Warranty online with three warranty companies and they had 9.9 compared to others. I saw a couple of reviews by customers and I said I would give it a try. Down the road, I started having a problem and I thought it was too soon. I didn't think they would cover. But four payments were made and they covered the problem so it was good. Choice is $40 a month, which is almost $600 a year. It’s affordable and probably, it wouldn’t keep going up. We are retired and every penny helps us.

    Submitting a claim to Choice Home Warranty was easy to do through their website. They sent somebody out in most of the claims that I’ve had to do and got the problems fixed. I didn't have to have a whole lot of interaction. I just had to message them about something and then they would reply within their time limits. The techs who came got stuff taken care of. People haven't been in this house for a couple of years. For the plumbing issues, they had to come back. Scheduling is an issue because of where we're at. So, everybody has to come from Midland, which is 35 minutes away or depending on where they're at. So, there's not always somebody right in town here to pick up the warranty work. Somebody has to come from far away and Choice often schedules everybody in this town on one day. So, it seems like a delay. One time, it was a week before somebody could get out.

    We know the technicians are scheduled for the day but they wouldn't call or tell me what time they were coming or if they were gonna be late. But for the most part, it’s been okay. We had a microwave issue that we had to fight them on and we lost because there was an internal broken piece. They said it was physical damage but nobody physically damaged the door. You just opened the door and it busted, which was just normal wear and tear, but they don't see it that way. So, there wasn't much I could do about it. They made it sound like they were going to replace the door but they got into this thing where it's discontinued and they couldn't find one. They didn't want to pay for a whole new one. We had to add a pool and the well so Choice’s price is probably in line with First American Home Warranty, which we had before in our other home. But almost 1,000 bucks is pricey.

    The heat index was 115 degrees. The air conditioner went out. I called them. It was gonna be five days before they could get a repairman. I said, "That's not gonna work." Choice is not worth having if it can't come when you need it. They're great on the phone. They're really slow on the action. They took way too long. When you have an emergency, you want it right now. You don't wait for five days. Make an appointment for two days and the guy never shows up.

    The latest one I've had was the washing machine and it was a valve that was stuck. The tech came and replaced the thing. He knew what he was doing and did a great job. He walked out of here in 15 minutes. It was great. But he came from Tennessee to fix this thing and I'm in Mississippi. They need some local vendors.     Having moved into our home, we realized as senior citizens that we wouldn't always able to run and repair things as quickly as we have done in the past. Our neighbors in the past, as we moved, had Choice Home Warranty and seem to be very successful with the fact that there were four kids in the home. There was always an appliance that was not working. And they seem to have very good luck with getting it repaired, which is a big deal, and in a timely fashion. So, I selected it. I even selected it with the fact that I'm not gonna make any changes. I paid for three years. I was comfortable. And my husband was in agreement.

    My first one was a bigger challenge, in that my water heater busted on a Saturday morning and my neighbors came running to my door and said, "You have a problem." And having family here, the first thing I did was call my son and said, "I need you to replace it now. I'll call Choice. I'll let them know that I have guests and my husband can't do it. So guess what? Replace it." I called them, they said, "No, ma'am. We don't do it that way. You need to call us first." I thought, "You know what? I agree. But my garage is flooding. I have guests who have not had showers. I am not the type of person who will entertain and put someone's life at risk. So you can reimburse me or you can just send me to the next person and I will deal with them. I cannot explain how severe it is to have six guests in your home and they can't take a shower.”

    I told the young man, "You have a script" and having worked in customer service for 31 years for AT&T, I said, "It's not your fault. But it's also the responsibility for the company that I pay money to to help support me in my emergency. So let me speak to someone else." I spoke with a young lady who explained how the policy works and that she is sorry that I had to experience it. I said, "Okay. I can go higher. I'm all right with that. But I needed a hot water heater on a Saturday morning with six guests in mind. All I ask is that you pay for what I paid for."

    I paid it and asked for reimbursement. She said, "Okay." So she sent me the refund. The sad part is three months later, the water heater busted again. So, I called her and said, "This is no joke. I've been married for 30 years. I have never had to do anything like this with any appliance. This house is not that old. The appliances are not that old. And as you can testify, this water heater was just purchased, still under warranty. So I'm calling you first before I call Home Depot and say, ‘Okay. We have to bring it back.’”

    They sent me a technician who picked it up, took it back to Home Depot. And it's interesting that Home Depot told me, "We didn't purchase it from you." And he said, "Here's the receipt where you purchased it, where she purchased it. And here is the letter from the warranty saying that they reimbursed her for purchasing it from your store.” This store is the only store in the city of Mesa that sells this unit. A headache. They replaced it.

    I've not had any more issues with the hot water heater, but I had an issue with the refrigerator. It stopped cooling. It stopped everything. And it has been a month and a half now that I have been without a refrigerator. Choice has tried several technicians from Sears. We've ordered a computer board and twice the tech tried to install it and it would not accept the new board. And as of Monday, they decided they need to replace the refrigerator. But they need to send me a gift card to Lowe's, which might take 30 days. Not a good experience for Thanksgiving to be here. And thank God, I'm not entertaining. But it's hard having to do everything out of the refrigerator in the garage, which is also 30 years old, but not giving me any issues. So, I'm okay. But how many people can go a month on holiday season without a refrigerator?

    Choice is in business to support those homeowners. And communication is big. Me being told that, “You never should have purchased a water heater. You should have just called us,” and it was the tone more than anything. I can respect you doing your job, but I also need you to respect me as a customer. I'm not trying to get anything for free. If I didn't trust you, why would I pay for three years of home warranty? That means that I wasn't going anywhere. And the fact that I didn't expect them to arbitrarily tell me that they would send someone out here and I would pay them the $65. They would tell me what the problem is, and they would fix it.

    But it has not been fixed for over a month. Had I been the host for Thanksgiving this year, it would not have gone this long. This is one of those cases where I would have called and said, "My husband and I can't do without the refrigerator. So how quickly can you replace it? If you can't replace it, tell me. Just tell me.” I can deal with the truth. But they would tell me now I have to have three different visits and that they're doing their best. If they were, it should have been replaced immediately.

    If they tested the outlets, they should make sure I moved everything. We moved it to different outlets to determine that it would just not accept electricity. Everything else is working on that outlet, but not this. I said, "We tried doing that the same thing when the power first went out. I understand you need to do your job." I'm not going anywhere. I understand that these are difficult times. And people will try to do what they're asked to do and it's their job.

    The sign-up process with Choice was easy but I've been less than impressed with their communication method. They have a portal that notifies you that your appointment has been scheduled but you have to sign in to see it. The emails tend to be a little bit delayed. So, communication as far as the service calls are less than efficient. Then, on the times I've had service calls with them, it took them five days to schedule the appointment and then it was another week for them to schedule an actual technician. So, I ended up calling my own plumber. It was a leaky pipe on a hot water heater and considering that it was an emergency call, Choice didn’t treat it as one. That delay caused further water damage to the area plus, going out of pocket for it.

    At the time that I filed the claim, it took Choice anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days to get back. They gave me a time rather than calling me and trying to schedule a time. So, I gotta take off of work to meet a technician versus trying to schedule it on a telework day if it's a non-emergency thing. They should get the technician out there as soon as possible. But at the same time, if it's a non-emergency call, it would be great if it would be possible to schedule it for a convenient time. At the end of the day, two out of the three service calls were fixed to my satisfaction. So, they got the job done. But I'm considering going with somebody else other than Choice Home Warranty.

    I called Choice Home Warranty once and I had a very good experience. Choice doesn’t have a limit for coverage and the price is decent. The contractors are fair and I was happy. This time, I called them for a dryer and the service was fast. The tech did a good job. But it’s not turning well and making a very big noise now. I'm gonna call them again if it's also gonna be so good. They should come check out what's going on.

    My first claim with Choice was a little difficult, took about a month. But that was a problem, not on their end, but with the contractors not fulfilling their part and getting ahold of me. And me just waiting, thinking someone was coming in and they didn't come. It was a claim for the water heater. I bought a house and within 30 days, the water heater was sparking, called the technician. I was told by the vendors that came out that Choice Warranty pays the least. And they always get problems with that company. Most vendors don't like to pick up those types of jobs because of their pay. Other than that, I finally got someone out two weeks later. Then they replaced the whole water heater for free because it was within the five-year warranty. I've been happy with the techs. They seem like they're independent contractors.

    We contacted CHW because our dishwasher pump seemed to be straining to work. CHW sent a technician to check it. The pump needs replaced. The servicer was knowledgeable and prompt. He is ordering the the part and will return to install it. Other than the $85.00 service fee, there will be no additional cost to us. I was surprised to find that the service fee increased from $80.00 to $85.00, not a big jump so not an issue at all. So far, so good with CHW!!

    I cannot review yet any services of your company as far as making repairs to my home appliances, etc, because I just happened to enrolled today; however on the process of enrolling I am not 100% satisfied with that because it took me 4 different calls to you to be able to enroll.. The first time a woman explained all at super speed and then I asked her a question and I guess she did not know the answer because she put me on hold to ask someone else for the answer (I am assuming that) and she never came back to the call so I had to hung up. Then I called again and I spoke to a man who he explained more or less the same thing and when I wanted to ask him a question he hang up on me. because I supposed I did not agreed with him. Then the 3rd time, something happened too but by that time I was upset and I cannot remember what really happened.

    It took me to the 4th call that I finally got to speak to another Rep and he was able to explain again everything I needed to know... He gave me a better deal in the price after he asked his Mgr for an Ok to do so. After that, I accepted his offer, but when I received an e-mail verifying or confirming what we had verbally agreed to, I realized that they charge me 0.75 cents more per month, that will actually increase the yearly total. Although this person was professional about his way of explaining and talking to me at the end I felt like it was a "hard sale", because he would not give the choice of calling back to give me time to think about it, before I made a final decision.

    In all I believe that their Reps are lacking more tolerance and patience with possible prospects or new customers, because I can feel it in their voices that they get anxious and seem to not like it when you ask them a few questions.. I just hope that if I ever need their services when I call them I would be treated in a nice way and get the repairs done properly without any problems..

    My previous home warranty seemed always to have something that was not covered. I recently asked about a heat exchanger being covered if it had rust. They said NO. I asked Choice Home Warranty the same question and they said YES it would be covered. Big difference. I talked to a rep and signed up for a special rate if I paid for 6 yrs in advance. They said I could cancel at any time and they would refund the unused funds.
