    Anthony did a great job explaining the benefits of switching from AHS to CHW which saved me money in the long run. Coverages are almost identical and service fee was reduced. As a disabled veteran is it great to know you've partnered with veteran services. I would recommend this plan to my family and friends when they are wanting to renew a home warranty policy. We might be also getting CHW service for a second home.

    I awoke a week ago to suddenly find my refrigerator temperature at 98 degrees and my freezer temperature at 48 degrees with everything in both areas "cooked" and totally destroyed! The two technicians who came were amazing! They repaired my appliance and brought it to a condition like new!! They were totally terrific!     Choice Home Warranty picks the most unreliable vendors to work in your home. I have filed 2 claims in the 3 years I have been with Choice and the first time the vendor never showed up so I hired someone on my own and paid out of pocket. This time the plumber was supposed to be here at 7:30. At 9:00 I reached out to the company. I also called Choice to request a new company and they would not provide me with one. The customer service is outsourced overseas and I felt I didn’t receive the service I expected due to a lack of complete understanding on the reps end. If you’re looking to have a smooth encounter, don’t sign up with Choice. I will be going back to Blue Ribbon once my contract is up.

    First of all, I could not reach a person. And the automated system got our issue completely wrong, saying it was a leak under our sink which it was not. The tech that came out was great. But your communication with him is horrible! He sat here and waited over half an hour for authorization to fix the issue. And then to know that you only give them nine dollars for a trip charge when he had to drive out to our area from Omaha? That is ridiculous! It feels like you get your money and then you wanna fight everything every step of the way. The tech fixed our issue, but because of your company he was here a whole lot longer than he needed to be wasting his time and my time.

    A week ago my ice maker stopped working. The repair Techs came in and diagnosed a couple of issues. First, I was informed when the filter goes bad the water flow becomes very weak (ice cubes are hollow or small). Secondly, the ice maker's motor was not working.     The scheduling of a service call was unbelievably difficult. Fourth time is charm, and the service professional was that, professional and did a good analysis of the problem. I give him 10 stars, I give his company 7 stars, I give Choice Warranty ZERO stars. They denied the claim because the blower motor on my furnace was only five years old, and it "should be covered under the manufacturer's warranty".     I called and asked to speak with Javier **, the rep asked what he could help with, and I advised getting me in touch with Javier. I was placed on hold, and the exact same rep came back claiming to be Javier, so I ended the call. I was immediately called back by someone who sounded like the same person, claiming to be Javier. After a bit of silence, he again said Javier **. I purchased the plan hoping I was really speaking with Javier because he was the initial salesperson that reached out and provided me great details. While the person I was sold by was polite, there is something to be said about integrity.

    I had carbon monoxide coming into the house. The carbon monoxide was like 80%, but it's supposed to be only 40% so I wanted somebody to come in and fix it but they told me to get my own technician. They couldn't find somebody. They wanted me to get their phone number and go through all of this stuff to get the problem resolved. I got the people that deliver the oils and they weren't gonna go through all of that. They just wouldn't fix the problem. Then, it was a hard time trying to get my money back after I paid the technician.

    Also, they sent this kid over there from Rhode Island and he made a diagnosis. After he finished his diagnosis, he said he doesn't work on oil. I paid him $65 and then they sent somebody else that does work on oil and they said I wouldn't have to pay another $65. The diagnosis went out and the other person came to fix it. But they were gonna leave because they wanted the $65 and the kid told them that he didn't collect anything. I'm going through this thing like I'm trying to cheat him on $65. But they decided to pay the guys that we had and they fixed my oil leak. I recommend them because they've fixed a couple of stuff -- my refrigerator and plumbing issues.

    Was told conflicting stories about the installment of my septic pump and the cost and the reason for the cost. Choice Warranty told me one thing. The technician told me something else. Thought that after paying my $65 deductible I would not be charging anything else. Just told that I would have to pay $150 dollars or less for the installation for pump. I take it that didn’t belong in there but it’s choice warranty paid for so he has to make alterations to make the pump work when we would make sense is buying something that goes off in there that doesn’t need any alterations.     Sears was to come out on Jan 26. It was confirmed the day before and again at 10:00 the day of the appointment. At 12:00 I get a call suddenly there are no techs available and they must reschedule. Not for a day or even a week but a month away, Feb 28. This is a common practice with Sears repair service. They have done this before to me with other repairs. I complained to CHW and they were able to get the service moved to GSA Appliance and they came right out and made the repair.

    I'm waiting for reimbursement from Choice for the septic tank than the tech fixed. It's been less than a month, so I'm in no hurry to get that back. Getting the service was a pretty simple process but when I called Choice to file the claim, they scheduled an appointment and when I looked at my thing, it said that the company would be out at a certain day from noon to 5:00. So, at about 4:30 that day, I called to ask if the techs were coming and the rep said she didn't know what I was talking about. So, someone didn't communicate that properly. Then, since Choice didn't find anybody to do the job, I called the guy I knew. So, I was glad that they gave me the option to pick somebody who I’ve already been working with instead of some generic people who don't even work on my type of septic.

    I had another claim for my brand new water heater that went out. I called Choice and they called out a plumber to look at it. The plumber said the internal tank was bad and Choice said they wouldn't cover it because it was weather-related. It was frozen but that happened the after it went out. I was without water for a couple weeks waiting for Choice to get back and I was shocked at what they said. In the end, I got it fixed through the manufacturer's warranty. But I would hope if my water heater goes out through a manufacturer defect, my extended warranty plan would fix it.

    I had a cook stove that the oven wouldn't light. I called in to Choice to request a service and it took about three days for the contractor to come out. He was a good quality tech, very informative, and fast. He was in and out, and the service was painless. I previously explained to him what the stove was doing and we made an assumption that it was the burner. I gave him the year, make, and model of the oven. And he was able to have a part when he came, then he replaced that part. The oven worked fine and we went on about our way.

    Having Choice gives me peace of mind. If something happens, versus me replacing the whole appliance, it makes it more convenient for me. If you're a homeowner and you have major appliances that you're going to put in your home, I would recommend that you get them protected. Choice would be an excellent choice from my experiences with working with them. They're normally fast and easy to talk to. And they're one of the least inexpensive warranties that's out there. Their website is also easy to use and the coverage is good.

    The first of the month, we had a claim with Choice Home Warranty. It was easy to make the claim and for them to come. It took us a little bit longer than I thought it should. But I understand it takes a while to get somebody to come out. The repairman was very nice, clean, and knowledgeable. I would recommend Choice. I had them at one point then went to another provider. I thought they would be better but they weren't so I'm back with Choice. However, you have to go through some changes to get your claim. I would change to have them contact me on the phone after I filed a claim, so I know that the wheels are in motion. There's an automatic email that comes to me, but I would prefer verbal if I could.

    The old days, I had to call Choice Home Warranty and talk to them. Now, I just do it online. It's as easy as go to the website and log it. I would get another email back from a technician telling me when he would be at my house. I have a gas dryer and it wasn't heating. I went online, filed the request. An hour later, I had a reply and a date and a time that the technician would be by. And he came by and was a very nice guy, knew his business. He looked at the dryer, said he had to order some parts, and he would have them sent to me. I said, "Okay." He ordered the parts and they came in. And they notified him when the parts came in. He came over, installed the parts and that was it. It was nice.

    I wish I bought Choice Home Warranty up here quicker. I spent a lot of money on this property that my daughter owns. I don't even own it. And I bought a Choice Warranty on it after I spent two grand on a water heater, 700 on a toilet, stuff that Choice would have covered for the copay. The only problem is, I would get a human when they wanna sell the policy, but I couldn't get one when I need to file a claim. It's an internet process. You go on their site. You file a claim. They would dispatch somebody. They would email who's coming. I'd rather talk to a human being than file it on the internet and get a claim number and wait for them to email me who's coming. They don't have the personal touch. But nobody does anymore.

    If you don't like who's coming, you could contact them and they would let you use your own people, but with their approval. If you have your own plumber, he has to submit the bid to Choice before and let them approve it before he could do the work. That's their only requirement on that. I filed a claim up here, but it turned out the issues were resolvable without any technical talent. So, no plumbing needed.

    Choice was good on small stuff. Very responsive on a running toilet. They send the plumber right out. And for the copay, my toilet wouldn't run anymore. They gave me a lot of trouble when my air conditioner went down. And they only paid me the amount of money for one of the parts. They didn't pay me for the whole unit. They nickel and dimed me on it. I was disappointed in that. They should have paid for the whole unit. It was shot.

    Another time, they sent out a repairman to repair my refrigerator who wasn't qualified. He charged me a ridiculous amount of money and never fixed the problem. I still had water all over the floor. Wound up having to buy a new refrigerator. I wasn't happy about that. Other than that, normal stuff, a water heater, a toilet, something small, they're great. They just pay. They have one of the smaller copays around. Buy the warranty.

    They declined a lot of requests for repairs when we first moved in. We bought an old home and they decided not to repair certain things. They did cover other claims. However, at one point, it took them six months to fix our refrigerator. They said there were not contractors in the area. When we did speak to contractors, they said that they pay a fee and that no one really wants to work with them. The last two service calls were okay because they used Sears.     I'm pretty annoyed with Choice Home Warranty. I had a not such a great experience recently. I put in a claim and the claim was wrongfully submitted. I called them and they said, "If you have a problem with this, call us." I spoke with a case manager, and she said, "If we get cut off, I'll call you right back." We got cut off, but she never called me back. This was a couple of days ago. Right now, my case is in nowhere land. I have to renew some kind of a warranty within the next year and I don't know that I'm gonna go with Choice because this isn't the kind of service I expect.

    I'm not thrilled with a lot of the contractors because a lot of them do things half-ass. A lot of them don't care. They're covered under Choice Warranty or Choice Warranty pays them and they tell me that they don't get paid a lot and that they have problems getting coverage. A lot of times, they were flexing their work because they said, "Look, if you don't wanna use us, we don't care. I've got people that have called to come set appointments."

    In my previous experience, a guy was supposed to come out for my pool. I had to call him a couple of days after I sent in the claim. He said, "What do you think is wrong?" I said, "I think it's the motor. Can you come out and take a look?" He said, "Okay, I'll order you a new motor." I said, "Aren't you coming out to look?" He said he didn't have to and then I didn't hear from him for about two weeks. I called him and asked what was going on. He said Choice Warranty never called him back to approve the motor. I called Choice Warranty and they said he never submitted anything. A lot of times these guys don't do it because they get so backed up. They get so many jobs. Choice is getting the bottom of the barrel. They're not getting quality workers. It's very disturbing. That's another reason why I might not stick with Choice.

    There's very little attention paid over the phone when I call to submit a claim. The operators have a generic answer sheet. There's no personalization. I feel like I'm just a number. They very rarely listen. They put in sometimes the wrong information. Getting through to Choice Warranty when there's a problem is very difficult. A lot of the technicians they use are substandard. They don't have a good customer service.

    The communication part of Choice stinks. I'm 82 years old and I'm not the computer guy. If you live in a small town, don't buy Choice. You'll get screwed. I live in a town of 1,000 people and they base everything on the closest big towns. The guy that always service my furnace, I know him personally as a friend and he lives four miles from my house. But Choice is trying to send a guy to me to fix my furnace that lives in Omaha. That's two hours from me.

    Sears and Roebuck did a repair and the work that they've done for me has been excellent. I put in an icemaker myself one time but I can't do that kind of stuff anymore. But when I did that, I bought the icemaker from Amazon and paid $40 for it. When Sears and Roebuck put in the icemaker my refrigerator, they got $550. Choice sent out a plumber that put a new garbage disposal in my kitchen that came from Louisville, Nebraska, which is almost Omaha. They did excellent work. I pay the $85 service charge every time they come out. After one year, Choice dropped that down to $75 per trip and I can call whoever I want to fix the issue because of the small town.

    I have a personal representative that took my case who works for Choice. He calls me periodically just to see how things are going. First thing I do if I have a problem, I call him and tell him what's going on, and then we discuss about who we could get to do it. He talked smoothly and sharply enough that I gave him my credit card and he put three and a half years on there and only two and a half that he charged me for. Then he dropped my service fee down to $75 a visit.

    When I had a claim for the kitchen faucet, it took almost three months because we had a lack of communication. I waited about two months on the garbage disposal. But when I had furnace problems, I had local guys pretty close that fixed my problem. I had a new furnace put in my house under Choice Home Warranty. They worked with that program, but I still spent $1,000. The furnace people gave Choice the components, the iron and the material things, but I had to pay the labor. I totally understood that $1,000 that I had to spend.

    The thing that I don't understand about Choice Home Warranty is that I still get emails almost every day about them wanting to sell me a home warranty plan. I've had four different people try to sell me Choice Home Warranty and all different companies. Where did they get their list from? Thank goodness that I don't answer all my phone calls.

    I’m not totally satisfied with Choice. I don't like the time frame in which it takes to identify a vendor and then having to then, therefore, wait even longer for the person's availability to come and assess and provide services. The issues that I've had seemed more imminent. Stuff like not having any heat in my home during the winter or not having any cold water during the winter are imminent. I've only used the warranty company four times, and at least twice, I've had negative experiences with the people that they have assigned my case to. They seemed to be not very professional. I try not to use them if I don't have to because I don't feel like being bothered with them.

    I understand that when seasons change, people's systems and everything sometimes go awry, and sometimes there could be a delay. But the people that they choose are subpar and not very interested.     They have been here three times and still have not fixed my refrigerator. Each time I've had to book a whole day to be home until they got here instead of a half day. First trip, they didn't diagnose the problem right and didn't send all the parts they needed, second trip on 26 January, he diagnosed the problem but he didn't order the parts so they came back today 1/31/24 only to say they couldn't fix it because they didn't have the parts so now they rescheduled it all the way to February 8.

    As of today January 31 it's been I think nearly a month since I first reported the problem with my refrigerator (it was two weeks between the time I first reported the problem and A &E came out on the first appointment) and it's still not fixed and now I've got to wait until February 8 so it will be almost 6 weeks if they fix it then.     Even though they repair the garage replacing the spring I would have thought they would have replaced both sides.     I have had a home warranty for about 8 months and for the first time put in a claim. Choice Warranty sent out a plumber who said my repair was due to normal wear and tear. Choice warranty disagreed and sent out a second plumber who again said that the repair was needed for something due to normal wear and tear. Then I received word from the plumber (not the warranty company) that the claim was being denied.

    I immediately called Choice and they said I must only speak to my case manager and that I would be called the next day between 1 and 1:30. I did not receive a call during that time! I waited until 5pm and called the case management line. I was told by the case manager that denial was because the repair was not due to normal wear and tear. I discussed with her what the 2 plumbers they sent out said and was informed that she would have someone from the escalation team call me. Of course I did not receive a call back. I waited three days and called back today. The case manager I spoke to told me that they don't have an escalation team and that there are no other managers I could talk to, they were at the top of the escalation tier. So not only did they not repair the plumbing. They lied! I will never do business with them again.

    Choice insurance states that the dishwasher had to be replaced. They offered me a lower price than what I have to pay to replace it. I don’t know what they are basing that price on but it will cover about one fourth of the price. I will have to pay the extra cost in order to replace my dishwasher.     Had a leaking shower. The plumber (SA Plumbing) was great! Had to have some tile work done to finish the repair. Choice insisted that was a new claim and I would have to pay another fee for that work. I talked to three different agents. Asked to talk to a manager to resolve the issue. It was part of the original plumbing issue and I should not have to pay another fee. Was told the "manager" would call me. They assigned a "Handyman" to do the work. Appointment was two weeks out. I had a professional tile guy come out and do the work. Waited three days before I cancelled the claim for the tile work. The manager never called me.

    The way I have been treated by Choice Warranty is absolutely ridiculous. No actual facts on way the claim was denied. Technician very surprised they denied the claim. Choice warranty assumed a lot without actual facts. Made things up to deny the claim. I have all the proof that Choice Warranty did lie on the report for denial. Case manager won't even pull the recorded conversation between the Technician and the claims representative to verify what was said. Very disappointing. No mouse, no power surge, and blower motor is properly installed. No reason to deny the claim. You can clearly tell that's installation and not a mouse.

    My septic system was reported to me from malfunctioning and I immediately reported it which happens to be on the same day I had met my 30 days after purchasing the policy. When my case manager called, she stated that Choice Home warranty could not pay for repairs because they had happened on the same day the policy became active and from their experience and she knew the system had broken previously all this from experience. She then hung up the phone on me. She was very rude and acted only on suppositions and gut feeling, she asked me to look at the policy and the policy only stated that coverage would only pay for items reported after 30 days. Now I have an $ 1800.00 unplanned expense and paying an insurance which is not abiding by its own rules. Please be aware of their bad practices.

    The technician was fine, but the furnace stopped working during a very cold spell (temp in the teens) and I was left without heat in the bedrooms for 4 days because Choice could not find a technician to come sooner and I was not allowed under any circumstances to call one and get reimbursed. By the time the tech got there on day 7 after I placed the claim, the furnace performance under similar conditions could not be tested because it was not cold anymore, so I was told everything is working fine and I have to wait until the next cold spell to find out if that is accurate or not. I feel this was an utter waste of my $75. I should have just bought a space heater with that money.

    Our heat went out on an 18 degree night and our house was down to 56 degrees at night over a weekend. I made a report but was then given an appointment for 5 days later. I looked up the company which posted 24/7 service on their website. I called the number provided but they claimed it was not that company. I then sent a message via their Facebook page. I tried calling Home Warranty again to see if we could find help before the next week.     I have had 2 claims. Both were declined immediately. The first one got reversed and was paid. This new one however is different. It got denied because there was a crack in the water line on my humidifier. This company says a “crack” is not normal wear and tear. So this company thinks that plastic or rubber lines are supposed to last forever because if they don’t, they won’t cover them. Not only did it get denied for that ridiculous reason, but when I tried to contact the case manager assigned to my case, the extension number I was given kept saying that extension was shut off and I couldn’t leave a message. I made an appointment on THEIR calendar for a review of my case and they never called me. I should not have to jump through this many loops to get my items fixed that are under a warranty.     Since 2/23/22, our HVAC system has been repaired 4 times. On 1/10/24 our heater failed again. The technician sent on 1/12/24 advised that the technician sent by CHW in September 2023 installed after-market parts and modified the wiring harness to make it work.     I love how you tell your customers to be accurate and fair with their reviews when you guys are unfair with how you cover systems in the home. On November 16, 2023, you did miraculously approve a furnace replacement for me (You've denied two other claims). However, I still had to pay $840.00 to cover "outside cost" for the installation. All they did was add PVC pipe extension for the drain and a little extra ductwork to meet the new shorter furnace(I could have done that myself for less than 200 bucks). That was after I paid a 75-dollar service charge to have someone come out and look. 68 days later that same furnace malfunctioned. Now I knew you wouldn't cover the parts because they would be under the Manufacture Warranty, but you also stated you wouldn't cover the Labor to replace them, which will cost more than the part.

    I asked the company that installed it why I didn't have a one-year labor cost with them, and they said that Choice Home Warranty takes care of all the labor cost since the furnace was purchased through Choice Home Warranty. But Choice Home Warranty comes back and states that they don't cover any cost associated with a part fails under the manufacturer warranty. So, I'm stuck paying for labor on a new furnace that I didn't choose, replaced by company that I didn't chose. Choice Home Warranty is a crooked company that doesn't look out for their customers. I paid 576 for my first year of coverage and never submitted a claim and then 600 for my second year of coverage. Then two 75-dollar service charges and 840.00 to help replace the furnace. So, I paid Choice Home Warranty a grand total of 2166 dollars to replace my furnace that I need to cover labor cost for.

    I would have been better off putting towards a higher quality furnace from a reputable dealer in the area and taking their 0 percent payment option and labor would have been covered for a certain term. I will not be renewing with choice their upfront cost may be less than others but overall, you'll pay more than you realize.

    Needless to say... they will not get my business going forward. I'm almost scared to submit another claim with them as I fear I'll waste 75 dollars on service charge for someone to come out and nothing will come from it. I had a different company before Choice and I will be going back to them. Choice Home Warranty is more crooked than most politicians.

I was treated by your case managers very poorly as to case went. They were very hard to reach and trying to explain anything to just did not seem to understand my point. I know they are following your policies and I don't blame them for that.

    First case worker Lydia sent a tech that never even came to look at my problem, then she tried to settle it with a buy out voucher. It was very low to a store I do not shop at. Then when they did get a tech out the unit was bad and needed to be replaced. Next Case Mgr. at least took the time to check what value my device was worth and offered more.
