    My experience, was great, customer service was great, we actually ended up purchasing a new refrigerator, because, (I could be wrong)... from the sign up date, to when I made a claim, the amount of time, was about two weeks??.. So, we weren't eligible? So, prior to making the claim, we paid the 100.00 and found out, the fridge probably needed a compressor, but, instead of waiting to be approved for the repair, and going without a fridge any longer (thank God it was cold out still) we bought, another fridge. The old one was a Samsung...Our toilet flange, needed replacement too.

    This is the first time I'm using the claim for the choice home warranty. At first they did not want to cover us because the wrong question was asked. I was asked when I bought our washer. I told the 10/2020. So I call back very upset, she said because of the date they could not cover. I gave them the estimated when washer boked down. Then they decided to cover me. Then they charge me the usual $100. It came out of my account right away that I saw. Then I was told it was returned to me. So they can find a service person in our area. Then I would pay them the $100. But it took a while till the money to be returned in my account. Finally, it was covered. And still wait to be completed on 3/12/26. I have other home warranties not so good. This one still good but need to be clear of what is needed. I paid too much for miscommunication.

    You do NOT want my review! Builtin GE microwave that costs retail $459 before taxes went bad. I paid $75 for tech to show up to say it was bad - cost over $200 in parts to repair not counting labor. CHW chose to replace unit giving me $194. I wanted them to replace but they do have option in contract to pay me with contractor grade microwave. Weasel words in contract allow them to do this. My total cost to replace microwave with identical unit to avoid changing wood cabinet is $75 for tech to tell CHW unit bad, $459 plus to get same microwave from Lowe’s, best guess to hire someone to install use microwave - $125; for grand total of $659 plus.

    They say will pay me $194 but have to wait 30 days. They do meet the requirements of their contract - but the weasel words (fine print) give them an out in almost every case. I had a water heater start leaking and they sent 4 different contractors until they found one willing to install at their price. Took over a month to get replaced.

    Overall CHW has been good to me as I have been to them. But this latest go around has left me … let’s just say not good. I recently put in a claim on a built in dual wall oven. From the start someone at CHW put it in as cook top stove. Tried to have them correct it. After 3rd try finally fixed. Now on to my issue. The ovens are not functioning and not repairable as no replacement parts are available for my ovens. So CHW chose to give me an offer for 1 stove top oven.

    Mmmm NO. It is built in wall oven and 2 ovens in 1 Unit so now CHW offered a little more money but not enough to purchase 2 single units as we need 2 units as dual ovens wall mount are no longer being made. I was given a time and date to to talk with a case manager that I could never get a hold of. On the date and time agreed to (1st one) called me I answered after 2 rings on my phone and I was hung up on. Then 2nd time it was canceled 10 minutes before the meeting with no explanation. I call back 3rd time and after being so frustrated I just agreed to the new amount CHW offered. So that’s my story.

    I was referred to CHW by a friend, so I was already interested in signing with your company. I have heard good things about CHW. The representative was nice and informative.     This is the first time I have ever gotten a home warranty and it was the worst experience I could ever imagine. Made a claim on a clogged that the technician said was clear but was still overflowing so I got my own Plummer and he said the drain was unserviceable and choice home warranty said they don’t cover that and would only pay $200 for my Plummer that was $300. Then I had a bathroom exhaust fan the wouldn’t turn on and their technician put in a new one so small that the insulation is blowing out of the ceiling and choice home warranty told me that they won’t cover the size I have. They are a fraud company that just wants your money.

    I had problems with the contractor ASC. The scheduled date and time for the service kept changing and did not match the date and time reported by CHW. I had to make numerous calls and texts. The technician finally arrived at nearly 4 PM and then she said she needed to go get a "dryer belt" for another customer before the store closed at 4PM. She was very polite and apologetic. She returned around 4:30 PM. She diagnosed the problem (burned out circuit board) and said she would order same.

    Four days later, I got a text from ASC stating that the part is no longer available and therefore their part was done and that I needed to contact CHW to have them follow-up. The dishwasher needed to be replaced. I called CHW and was quoted (by email) that I would be sent a check for $272.00, the replacement value. Then I was told that it would take up to 30 days before the check would be mailed. I had already paid $65 for the diagnosis, so in effect, I was being compensated $207 to replace my dishwasher. I feel the amount of compensation by CHW is too low. I am not satisfied with the amount. Sorry!

He just came by for verification and have my anode rod replaced. They have to come back to replace the item that needs to be replaced.     Terrible company. I had two claims, not even major repairs, like light switch on fan and clogged dish washer. They always have a standard excuse that these are not normal wear and tear. Dishwasher clogs after 6 years of use, never had an issue before but they claim that it is not due to normal wear and tear. I would not recommend it at all. Better save your monthly payments in a fund and use it when a repair comes. Works out to be lot cheaper. I do not have printed receipt, but have an email. Uploaded as a picture.

    I used to get great service. Within a few hours, I would get a message of who took the order and that that person would contact me within 24 hours. And they would and then we would set up a date for service, usually within a day or 2. I would then pay my deductible to the technician at time of service. So they put in another order, and I never heard back, so I checked the app for my claim, and there was a new service company, but I was never notified and this one was set 12 days out. I have never had to wait this long. So I canceled the claim. I don’t know what’s going on if there aren’t companies taking up the orders or what. Then I got a message saying I could pick my own company pay for the service and then apply for reimbursement. I don’t have that kind of money, that’s why I pay for the insurance. What is going on with this company? Why is there only large, very busy companies willing to take the jobs and put them so far out.

    I waited six days to get a plumber technician assigned to my claim, and they still could not find a technician to service my area. I live in a town with the population of 12,000 and a city of 203,000 was just 50 miles away. They would not waive the one-time/year reimbursement stipulation even though they were unable to find a technician. They told me it would take more time.     This company is not what they say. Received an extremely high utility bill. So called the warranty company to come and check out my HVAC. They said a part failed which is why it wasn't working properly. The part that failed is not available from the manufacturer. The only option is a new unit which warranty company refuses to pay for saying it's pre-existing. So a part failure that can't be fixed or replaced is pre-existing and now it is owner responsibility.

    I needed a small repair job for a leak in the fridge door. For two weeks we could not use the water and ice dispenser. Our sink tap water is through a water softener so it is a little salty. My wife needs water from the fridge which is filtered for her cooking. It took more than two weeks for CHW to find a repair person and they could not. I asked a repair person that lives two blocks from me to come and look at so I could give an estimate to CHW. The repair person has had several negative experiences with CHW and was not paid by CHW.

    I was desperate, so he agreed to come and do the repair job if I paid him direct and even then it took a week later because he is in demand everywhere in my valley. He came at night and fix it for $120.00. CHW refused to reimburse me the simple amount. I paid for 5 years of CHW contract. Over first year, I did not need any repairs. I still have about four years left. I can see that I will have difficulties with CHW because I live in a small city.

    After six years of faithfully paying our premiums, we are extremely disappointed with our experience when we actually needed service. Over the past three years, we have contacted the company several times regarding ongoing issues with our air conditioning system. We were aware the unit was nearing the end of its lifespan, which is why we maintained our warranty coverage, as it specifically states that normal wear and tear is covered.

    Last week, a technician inspected our unit and determined it was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. He documented his findings, took photographs, and submitted a report. Shortly thereafter, our claim was denied. The company stated that the coils were dirty and restricted, and therefore the replacement would not be approved. We were informed we could file an appeal.

    However, according to the licensed technician who was physically on site servicing our unit, the coils were intact and showed no dirt or restriction—only normal oxidation consistent with age and wear. We submitted an appeal and were instructed to schedule a consultation. After scheduling the appointment, the company canceled it. When we contacted them to ask why it had been canceled just minutes after the scheduled time, they called us back and stated that their internal technicians had reviewed the photographs and determined, based solely on the images, that the denial would stand and the appeal would not be considered.

    Following this experience, we attempted to cancel our policy. We were transferred to another department, prompted to enter our phone number, and then the call was disconnected. When the company called us back, the connection was so poor that we could not clearly understand the representative. Shame on us for believing they would actually be fair in their assessment vs just taking our money!

    When I originally enrolled in 2022 Choice Home Warranty was a great company - quick responses and repairs. It has gone downhill every year after that and takes longer and longer to get repairs done. In August it took almost a month to get a service member to my house for air conditioning issues!!! I realize summer is busy for a/c but a month is ridiculous and the company that arrived had just started working with Choice (I was their first customer).

    I opened another claim this past Sunday to get a replacement cartridge for my shower diverter (I knew exactly what the problem was since it happened to my other shower last year) and service was't done until Thursday early evening! Thank goodness I have 2 bathrooms or it would have been a real problem. If you are looking for emergency service/repair at home, Choice Home Warranty is not it and their own customer service told me they are not an emergency repair service.

    Choice Home Warranty is a rip-off and a horrible company to work with. We've had warranty coverage for years with them and placed two warranty claims during that time. Both claims took months to get fixed (one is still not working correctly) and when we decided to cancel our policy for the remaining 2-years we have left, they deducted all of the claim costs from the pro-rated premium that we pre-paid (we pre-paid for 3 years). Essentially, we not only paid for the monthly pro-rated premiums, but also the service fees and now we're being charged for the actual repairs costs that they are supposed to cover. Do yourself a favor & go with a different home warranty company.

With my other home, I had American Home Shield, and it was awful to try to set up anything. It has been so easy with Choice and their claims reps have been excellent. I have met some of the nicest people who have had to come out. We just had to have someone come out about our upstairs heat back when it was really getting cold, and he was a super nice guy.     Put a claim in 2/8 on washing machine, customer service training on friendliest is needed. Service appt was 2/17. Wish it had been sooner. Service man arrived looked at machine and said it would be cheaper to get a new machine. He was very knowledgeable and nice. I waited on communication (email, text and my Choice acct. on the website) Finally received text from the repair company asking if the parts had arrived on 2/20. Two huge heavy boxes were left on porch. Had to set up an install appt… 2/27. If install goes as planned this process would be a 19 day process. My complaint is the time frame and lack of communication (not letting me know if they will repair or replace) and the decision to repair an old washing machine that has seen better days.

    We had a nightmare with the techs they sent. 4 appointments and 2 they came without parts just to tell me that my water heater needed to be replaced. Choice Home Warranty was only going to cover 1/5 of the total costs so I decided to replaced it myself and now they would not even reimburse me for the cost of the new unit. When you sign up they tell you that if they cannot repair it, they will replace it and that is a total lie.
