    The agent spoke too fast. Hard to understand. Got my claim in. Now let's see how long it will take a tech to get back to me. The last two time the weeks exceeded a week. Very hard when it is your refrigerator, because for the tech to evaluation the problem you have to remove all food from the refrigerator. This can cause food to spoil.

I called at 2.24pm to find out if they were still coming and was told that they are running behind because they have "hundreds of calls"!     I know the AI is taking over for support. I prefer to speak to someone I know is concerned about my issue. At this point I am not convinced my issue is being investigated with urgency.     Horrible service and not responsive. Filed several claims - was told a compressor was a “pre-existing” condition. They use expected life. I have two identical units - the second is just fine. They just do not want to pay! Secondly, fully documented with sales guy what is covered. Submitted claim - it was declined. Followed up with sales person, as well as resolution manager. No response after several emails. Summary - they want your money but try, at all costs, not to pay for service. Keep looking for a better company.

    Stay away from this company. They send me a dumb technician who messed up my stove completely and they refused to take responsibility. I asked for them to take do review for second opinion and refused that either. It was my only claim in last 3 years and that too denied. It was only one burner was not working, now I have to replace the entire stove by paying from pocket because of this stupid company.

    No matter what company I use it always seem my issue is not covered under the rules. My unit was cooling until June 2nd. Then it started getting warmer. I was told it was "pre-existing" and was not covered. Then to make matters more confusing they rescheduled my appointment to "fix" the unit that is not covered.     They were quick to get the technician out for service. The technician was very good. However, they are now denying my claim stating the damage was due to a leak and tear. There is no leak. The technician never mentioned a leak or a tear. Not sure how they arrived at that conclusion since they didn't even take the machine apart. The bearing in the drum went out and he knew what was wrong just listening to it and spinning the drum. I have appealed.

    My experience was 2 stars. I would have given 0, but I was actually satisfied with coverage & cost. My interaction with the sales rep was quite different & NOT POSITIVE. He was "pushy", & repeatedly talked over me, both of which were pretty annoying. But, most importantly, was the fact that I never received a call, or an email, or anything, even though I left a couple voicemails, and sent an email asking for help. No answer, no response to my messages. Nothing. Just total disregard for me as a customer. It sure makes me wonder what type of response I'll get if I have a problem.     I had Choice warranty for 3 years and had some problems: 1 - Choice Always take more than week to find a Provider. I had a water heater issue in winter and paid outside of Choice. 2- Choice always give hard time if you deceide to use your Own Provider. I had a AC issue in summer and I paid outside Choice. 3- Don't trust the Customer. I had a problem with my shower handle, the provider said was a installation issue, but Choice has replaced the parts an year ago used their Provider. Even I insist trying to explain, choice trusted their Provider who said this was an installation issue. DON'T CONTRACT CHOICE WARRANTY COMPANY

    ATTN: ALL CONSUMERS: I am writing this review to warn others so they can stop pouring their money into NOTHING (can skip to@@@ if you don't want the backstory): We've had Choice for several years because our AC goes out yearly. The house we live in is 60+ years old with original appliances (enough said). Since having Choice, we've filed MANY claims, but only had 1 appliance replaced (dishwasher). Even with that replacement, we had to fight with Choice because they wanted to give less than $300 for a new dishwasher (installation alone averages $130).

    Back in January, we started to have issues with our fridge leaking LOTs of puddles (I'm talking mop and bucket every hour or so). We also noticed ice had began forming in the corners (near edges) and around the crisper drawers. We filed a claim (area of focus - puddles)…tech comes out and melts the ice…telling us to keep the vents clear. 2 weeks later, he had to return for the same issue where he repeated the same process. He then tells us he notices the seals may need to be replaced, but after checking for parts, noticed our fridge was LITERALLY obsolete. He agreed to try to send in a part, but by his verbiage, I KNEW he was hinting Choice would give us issues, so we declined the offer.

    Late May, the ice has continued to form to a point where the lower half of the door wasn't sealing (allowing cool air to escape). Puddles still formed, but not as frequent. We file another claim with the "door" as the topic. With this tech, we explained the history, pointed out the ice, and the puddles. He verified the 2 may be related, but (once again) used terminology that hinted Choice was going to want to fight it (even if he doesn't agree with them). He agreed to send in a part that helps to close the door, and low and behold….a day or so later? DENIED…due to "rips in the gasket."

    I file an appeal and request documentation from both claims related to this. Not only to compare photos collected (because I too have been gathering MONTHS of proof), but also to see what was documented in these reports (since we NEVER get any of these from Choice nor the tech). The appeals manager denied it….saying it wouldn't make a difference because they reviewed the photos and are standing firm. I explain to her this is ongoing and I've collected my own evidence, so at this point, I'd like a 2nd opinion. She then tells me we can pay for that on our own, and if it's related, we'll get a service fee credited to the account -_-.

    How is that a good solution if we have had 3 visits for the same root cause that may be related? That means paying 3 SERVICE FEES AND money loss (including hiring our own tech)! We have filed an appeal before and was NEVER told this in the past, so once again (as always)….we're getting new info.

    I reached out to a trusted source within Choice (there are only 2 internal reps I TRUST) requesting more info. She responds and confirm the 2 are related and explains the issue noted are the "door gaskets and pins," so it would have been denied back in January as well. Although it still doesn't justify the denial, I was appreciative that she was at least more honest and insightful than our appeals case manager.

    @@@ The reason why I am explaining this is because I finally get the premise behind Choice Warranty. Contrary to their fine print, I KNOW this because with my line of work, I also deal with claims, warranty coverage, and elaborating when they don't qualify for in-warranty repairs: A WARRANTY is essentially protection if the product fails due to natural causes (manufacturer fault). INSURANCE is protection if there are unanticipated accidents (consumer fault). Warranties usually last a few years, so insurance maintains the coverage when the warranty expires.

    They advertise coverage like an INSURANCE, but treat it like a WARRANTY. This is why majority of our claims are being denied; because they use justifications like a WARRANTY...citing things like accidental damage while simultaneously ignoring product AGE. To advertise that you can cover 10, 20, 30 + year old appliances with a WARRANTY is deceptive when they KNOW these are viewed/treated much differently.

    So in short? We are all wasting our money because they're designed to payout as less as possible. My fridge is 20 + years old (literally obsolete), and from the photos, you can see for yourself what's happening + the age of our system (hence how much evidence I collect to still have the original paperwork for our fridge). To accuse me of damaging an appliance already too old to even order replacement parts is INSULTING! And to deny the consumer right to see supportive evidence is borderline ILLEGAL! These practices are misleading, unethical, and designed to pocket as much profit from the consumer. I filed with my AG, the FTC, BBB, and a few other sources so this business can be SHUT DOWN! PERIOD! Please consider doing the same! CONSUMERS FIGHT BACK!

    Terrible Experience with Choice Home Warranty. Our experience with Choice Home Warranty has been nothing short of a nightmare. We submitted a claim for issues that were clearly covered under our policy, only to be met with constant delays, poor communication, and ultimately, denial of our claim. Lack of Timely Communication: From the start, there was a significant lack of timely communication. After our initial claim submission, we received an email stating that our claim was not covered due to reasons that were not clearly explained. We attempted to reach out multiple times, only to receive delayed and often unhelpful responses.

    Incompetent Service Providers: The plumber sent by Choice Home Warranty was unable to complete the necessary repairs because of a technical issue on their end. We were told that our order needed to be changed from a "Water Heater" claim to a "Plumbing" claim, but this simple modification took weeks to process. Despite our repeated attempts to expedite this, the necessary changes were not made, leaving us in a state of limbo.

    Unhelpful Case Management: Our case manager, Irisha **, while polite, was ineffective in resolving our issues. Despite multiple emails and phone calls, we experienced significant delays. At one point, we were left waiting for over 10 days with no response, even as we dealt with a water leak that was causing further damage to our property. We had to involve our property manager to get the issue fixed out of our own pocket, which was not ideal and certainly not what we were paying for with our home warranty.

    Denied Claims for Covered Issues: The final straw was the denial of our claim based on technicalities that were either misrepresented or not applicable. Despite providing a detailed invoice and documentation, our claim was denied with the reasoning that the failures were due to improper installation—something that was never indicated by any previous service providers.

    Financial and Emotional Stress: This entire process has been incredibly stressful and financially draining. We had to cover the cost of repairs ourselves, and despite our efforts to get reimbursed, we were met with nothing but roadblocks. The lack of support and resolution from Choice Home Warranty has been extremely disappointing.

    Conclusion: I would strongly advise against using Choice Home Warranty. Their poor customer service, inability to effectively handle claims, and lack of communication have caused us significant distress. We expected a reliable partner to help us manage home repairs, but instead, we were left to handle everything on our own. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for a home warranty provider.

    For over a year I have one disappointment after another dealing with CHW. They never ever fix anything. I have always paid to fix things out of my pocket.     What an awful company. Do not purchase any home warranty with them. They don’t fix the problem. Just put a bandaid of the issue. I’ve had the same issue for over a year and till this day has not been fixed, they just keep sending someone to replace a part and charge for it because it’s not included in the warranty and state it’s a maintenance issue. I can’t believe I paid so much money for this company. Unless you want a headache stay away. Then I call customer service and they are not helpful at all, one even told me because I was not happy, why did I call then. I couldn’t believe I was spoken to that way. Customers may not always be right but as a company there should be compassion for the customer and understanding. I’m sure there are other more qualified warranty companies with better service.

    Choice Home Warranty is the worst company I've come across. They take forever to send a technician out and will keep declining coverage. They say if they don't get a technician within 48 hours, you can get your own. However, they can assign one in 48 hours but the technician can come in after a week which is totally misleading. I had a case open for a while so I followed up with them and they even tell you that a technician went out and the person at the door asked them to come at a later time. I called the technician and he said they don't work with Choice home warranty. They don't have my case in their system at all. After more than a month of calling Choice home warranty, they finally reimburse me for 1/4th the amount of the refrigerator and the case manager that I dealt with was extremely condescending and disrespectful. The worst experience ever. I'll never recommend Choice home warranty to anyone. STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE!

    Choice Home Warranty refused to pay for a plumbing repair. The plumber they sent out stated that the leak was due to normal wear and tear. This caused 21 thousand dollars worth of damage. I went through the appeals process. The representatives names were Dezire T. and Jessica C. we had a 15 minute phone conversation to discuss the appeal.     Shower was backing up, toilet would gurgle when showering, toilet would sometime flush. This happened on a Friday, when I called Choice, the company was Airpro Master to come out Not till the following Monday! I called Choice back right away to see if I could get someone out sooner, they said they couldn't guaretee that. I called Airpro Master, Now my appointment is bumped to Tuesday because it wasn't confirmed! Within a 17 minute window! I did plead with them as I had surgery on my hand and could not drive. It did turn out okay. I made it to Tuesday, Careful flushing and running water, I had no place to go. For a company that says 24/7 I guess that doesn't count if you're using Home warranties, as when you call them the first recording is "Home Warranty or Cash". So I guess that is how they make their appointments.

    It must take an act of Congress or something for this company to stop harassing you after your warranty ends. They are relentless in calling you every single day and ignore all requests to stop calling you. To make matters worse their call sales don't take no for an answer. For example, I told one agent I've said no 10 times, what makes you think I'm going to say yes this time? And they insult you by saying maybe things changed and you're ready now to say yes?     The person providing my most recent service did a great job, and was very professional. Unfortunately, the work was not covered by the warranty, and I ended up paying out of pocket.     Stay away from this company. They will use all sort of excuses to not pay you, or run the services covered. We had a broken pipe on a Sunday evening. The leak was visible from our backyard, and the pipe was in the main house wall. Their first reaction when we opened the claim was to deny coverage, saying it was an external pipe, not covered. After a one day discussion, they accepted to cover, but suggested a provider to come by only 5 days later, making me stay without water, with four kids, for almost a week.

    We complained, called their provider who didn't have earlier availability. Choice said they would contact them. On the Tuesday, the choice contractor called us back to say they didn't have an earlier availability and they suggested we hire a local plumber to do the job and submit invoices. We did that and Choice declined again, claiming we needed previous authorization to do that. They acknowledged they were not responding on adequate time and even thanked us to be proactive on solving the problem, but said, no we will not reimburse. We are now filing a claim in court against them.

    This is the third time I had to put in a claim with Choice Home Warranty since December 2022. Every time they have been very responsive. To keep it short, this last time, for my HVAC, they had a tech here sooner than expected. Hector **, quickly analyzed the issue, which was to replace the compressor and communicated that to CHW. Within a day, I had an approval letter from CHW and my estimated cost. We’re now waiting on the compressor to arrive so it can be installed. The only thing I was surprised by, was the service fee went up to $85 from $75. I don’t remember a notice from them telling me in advance that my monthly policy rate was going up, along with the service call fee.

    - Stars are not allowed - otherwise.... Such a SCAM company. Only knows how to make money for the company, not to help customers. At least insurance companies are going to cover the repair and raise your premium, but this company just knows how to deny a service call and take the deductible.     I had a claim (#**), which Choice has denied in partial quoting that a certain part was broken. However, the technician sent by Choice confirmed that the broken part has nothing to do with the leak. I shared the detailed proof of the same to Choice, but Choice is refusing to work my claim and also told me they will not change their stance in spite of any proofs I submit.     A CHW tech came out to check my unit on 6/9/2024. Prior technician told me that my air conditioning unit had a leak that needed to be repaired, so I called CHW. The CHW Tech said my unit was running good, but I forgot what he said he charged me $109 for plus the $75 service fee. Should I have been charged for anything besides the the service fee?     So, this was a great experience. However, I’m not sure that it was the most clear claims process as I had three issues. They are all plumbing related and two were a leak found on two separate parts of the same pipe under my kitchen sink and the third was a toilet that ran a few seconds on and 20 to 40 minutes off constantly. I had to place a separate claim on each one and did the first two online and then the third one said because a similar claim was placed within the past 30 days, I would have to call for verification with the 800 number. So I did.

    And I placed the last claim which was the toilet claim. I got an automated reply that I would be hearing from one of the contractors within a short period of time. And very surprisingly, lady named Carol from the plumbing company contacted me and was extremely nice and very happy to schedule somebody for the same-day service which is very impressive. However, she only had one of the claims as a work order in her system. That created a bit of concern to wonder where the other two had gone upon them calling the warranty company and me calling the warranty company, we learned quickly that there was only one claim that they could find in the system.

    I still don’t know what happened to the other two claims I did initially but I called the 800 number back. I spoke to who I believe is the same person I spoken to when I placed the claim for the toilet Which had disappeared. Sadly only one of the plumbing issues I’ve been found which was just one of the two that I placed online meeting that one of the ones online got lost and one of the ones that I called was lost. That was the most confusing part of the process as no one could explain what happened to the other two claims that I placed considering one was online and one was on the phone so there’s no common theme for a place that they had gotten lost and through conversation with the young lady on the Marty claims department side somehow magically found one of them and I placed the other a second time.

    I only wish that that had been a little easier, clearer to understand, and easier for the plumbing company that was dispatched to find and see all three of the claims because in the end after The Plumber left and have been paid thinking that everything has been done I realized the form that he gave me as a receipt via email that was sent out to me Only showed two things that he had fixed, not three. So I still have a leak and a pipe to call back and have a addressed the other two were resolved and the only issue that I have is the one leak that was under my house was not listed on the form as being fixed and I don’t believe they actually saw that one on the work order.

    So I have 2/3 of the claim completed and 1/3 still to be done which I have to call and address on Monday, making it a little more time-consuming but if someone is sent back out and they fix it in the timely manner that the first two were fixed all will be just fine and I’ll be a happy camper and very grateful to have purchased a six years advance package with you guys.

    The only other little issue that I actually would like to mention about the part approved by the warranty company as told to the plumbing company must be approved for replacement did not include the dishwasher attachment on the knob or valve that was replaced having no capabilities of reconnecting the dishwasher to the hot water line leaving the dishwasher non-functioning until that part that was missing on the replacement and that was present on the part removed is added. The Plumber said that the warranty company approved the one that he put on my waterline but not any variation leaving me a bit perplexed as to why that small eight-dollar part that was part of the removed part would not have been included to leave me without a functional dishwasher until I go to buy the item and have it installed myself to hook up my dishwasher and have everything back to normal.

    I did point out and I did find it curious because my friend who actually found the leak under my sink knows more about plumbing than I do and I videoed him pointing at the part specifically saying it needed to be included in in order to get the dishwasher to work and I showed that at the end of the installation when I was told that it was not mentioned and they had only approved what he put on as a replacement. But he did say that it was a very inexpensive part, very easy to install and showed me what to do and I recorded him telling me what to do as the plumber who made the repairs that was very informative and great to deal with so it’s not that big of a deal. It’s just eight dollars but it would’ve been nice to have had everything back to the way it was without having to do extra work or pay more than the claim deductible that was expected.

    Have had 3-4 claims over the last year and they've all been handled very promptly and very well - all but 1 were picked up by A&E (Sears). Would rate 5 stars but the last experience (also picked up by A&E) was extremely poor. There was a glitch in the parts order - I had the parts but the status did not reflect it. 12 out of 12 times I had an appointment and no one from A&E showed up. I called Choice 5-6 times and was assured it was escalated and would be resolved. I called A&E 8-9 times and same. No one could fix the glitch. I persisted as I wanted to try and fix the issue but awareness of the situation was never really escalated.

    After the 12th appointment no-show, I finally gave up and opened a new service order and was prepared to fork over a new co-pay as it was still cheaper than getting a repair person on my own. A&E picked up the order, came out, apologized for the trouble and did not charge for the co-pay which I appreciated. But 2 big companies were not able to fix the glitch despite my trying to tell the many agents over and over that no one would show up for the "next" appointment because no one would ever get assigned on the day of the appointment because the part's status was not correct.

    Terrible Experience with Choice Home Warranty. I placed a claim with Choice Home Warranty for an electrical issue, and the technician they sent out told me it was due to wear and tear. However, later, I received a call from the company stating it was a broken breaker. The technician never mentioned a broken breaker; he specifically said it was wear and tear. This company is a scam! Before you purchase coverage with Choice Home Warranty, be aware that they are just scammers. They will take your money and fight tooth and nail to avoid paying for any broken items or issues in your house. Save yourself the trouble and don’t buy their coverage.     This company is a sham. They do not cover all the things that they claim to cover and certainly not a good grade of replacement items. The customer service options are horrible, and they force you to code in your phone number for a call back. A person calls back from a home or call center, asks questions, repeats the same things over and over as if they're going to help you. Then they tell you that they'll transfer you to a claims specialist and when they do, the same menu comes up with the same directives.

    After submitting a claim via online, with my claim number, I get a call this morning from a smart-mouth so-called claims specialist who was crass, degrading, rude, and disrespectful. She told me in no uncertain terms that they will not replace my nonfunctioning ceiling fan with a comparable model and style, but a builder's grade cheap model that only sells for $70 - my fan is $325. BLONDELL is her name and she was very nasty - horrible. My earnest suggestion is that you steer clear of Choice Home Warranty - they are a sheer and complete SHAM.

    Difficult company to work with. We filed a claim on our 20+ year old hvac system which was inspected before the house was bought and they denied the claim saying that they were improperly installed although they have been with the house since construction and were the same units that were deemed in normal working condition when we purchased the house less than a year ago. Now Choice wants to deny the claim even though they have run for a good 20+ years before perfectly fine and had no known issues.

    The associates that work there are also the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Shauntel M. Was incredibly rude and just yelled over our whole phone conversation while I was trying to explain that these units that they claim were improperly installed are the same ones that we had inspected and they warrantied when we purchased the house. She yelled, "Well they ain’t working now are they!" And told me she was the be all end all of our claim and they wouldn’t assist us anymore with this. Considering the contact says no known defects or preexisting conditions I would say we should have gotten the repair but they won’t even discuss it with you besides being rude and over talking you. This company is a waste of money and it looks like they were asked to stop selling their contracts in Georgia because they didn’t have enough bond for the claims being submitted. All around I would avoid this company. They are sketchy.

    DO NOT BUY!! We bought this home warranty after reading some reviews online. All I can say is they must have been bought and paid for reviews. I spent THOUSANDS on this warranty to "cover" my home for 6 years. They literally cover NOTHING! They claim they will when you buy it. But when you make a claim, as I have made several, they find any abominable reasons not to cover it. We paid extra to cover our pool, and our hot tub. Made a claim, they had no technicians that wanted to do the repair for Choice rates. So No one would accept the ticket to do the repairs. So I ended up doing them myself. My washer broke, needed bearings, they wouldn't cover it because we must have abused it, or overloaded it for the bearings to go bad. My AC went out. Nope. Wouldn't cover it either. DO NOT BUY. Find a company more reputable if you must have a home warranty. Choice is a scam. Save your money.

    Choice is great, until they're not. I gave them $2,500. I recently filed a claim for a dripping bathroom faucet, paid my "co-pay" to the plumber when he showed up, then Choice wouldn't pay to fix it. Now, I'm out $60 and STILL have a dripping faucet. The first couple of years, Choice was okay. But once you reach a certain number of claims, or once the repairs go beyond what you gave them up front (in my case, $2,500) they start denying even low cost repairs after that. Such as replacing a $30 faucet. If they won't replace a $30 faucet then don't expect then to replace a major appliance that goes bad and can't be fixed. They'll come up with any excuse they can pull to avoid paying out. That's apparently Choice's business model.

    I also have a jacuzzi bathtub in my master bathroom that the jets stopped working. Filed a claim the same day as the dripping faucet incident. Same plumber. Same trip. He would have to saw through my sheetrock to get to the motor. But after Choice denied replacing a $30 faucet, there was no way I was going to have him cut a hole in my wall, then have Choice deny repairing that too. I would've been out another $60, a hole in my wall, and STILL be left with a jacuzzi tub that doesn't work. Then, to add insult to injury, Choice had the gall to call me on the same day they denied my dripping faucet claim to ask if I would like to sign up for another $2,500! Seriously??? A co-worker of mine, just by coincidence, asked me later that day if I had any recommendations for a home warranty company because he was looking for one. I told him, "Yeah. I have a recommendation. I recommend you DON'T get Choice Home Warranty!"

    Our claim for the replacement of a failed AC unit was denied by CHW based on a loophole in the contract language. The failure of the unit is age-related (originally installed in 2005) and not due to any subsequent leaks of refrigerant and any water damage. In my opinion, CHW used the determination of a CHW-designated contractor to deny our claim. I was offered the opportunity to appeal the decision. I chose to be proactive with a different vendor rather than endure the appeals process though our summer months.

    CHW had three different technicians come out to service/inspect/diagnose the A/C unit, the fourth one never even called to say he could respond to our request. Each had to conduct their own diagnoses of the issue. There was very poor communication between the technicians and CHW. None seem to be able to share the A/C information such Brand, model, nor what the problem was. The process took over six weeks to final get the A/C working properly. Two of the technicians stated that Fan Blower needed to be replaced, CHW wanted to replace the blower fan with an aftermarket Blower Motor.

    Two technicians said that they would not recommend aftermarket replacement parts as they have a history of NOT holding up. The last technician stated that it wasn't the blower fan at all the wiring was not set right thus causing the problem with the blower not provided enough power to cool the rooms in the back part of the house. Not very happy with end results, yet I have been bombarded with solicitations from CHW about renewing my account. Doesn't make much since does it.

    Arranging the service call was difficult. Being sold that we would have a good experience - in fact that is not true. You having difficulties getting us prompt service we were told the option of contacting a company on our own - which we did. We had to pay a $100 to be company to come and then quote over $500 for the repair. With low confidence we could get the money refunded we went back and had you find someone 4-5 days before they could come. The original company said they did not have a way to upload their invoice to you and really did not want to bother going online to your site. So we are screwed out of $100 - thank you.

    The positive - when we finally had the service call from RKS he was professional and efficient - of course we paid another $75 (which is required).
