    When I purchased my contract, the salesperson made a $45.00 service fee part of the contract. Also, the last 2 items I had repaired in 2023 I paid only the $45.00 service fee; however, this time I was charged a $60.00 service fee. Why the change? I also had issues with no coverage of my garage door opener. They seem to change the rules and coverage as they go along.

    My microwave would not even turn on. I placed a claim with Choice and they sent a technician out the next day. The technician told us it was so many things wrong with it and he would submit a report to Choice.     I called in and tried to speak to a person, left my number to be called back, Never received a call back. Your System is Very Difficult to use. The technician just called ten minutes before he arrived, fortunately I was home otherwise I would not have missed the Appointment.     My oven door glass cracked while oven was on. I submitted for repair. First of all, the company makes the tech collect the $75 fee before he diagnoses the problem or even starts. Then the tech put in info and ordered glass. He has to wait to get confirmation to order parts. In my case, the company took quite a while and denied repair to tech. Then Choice Home Warranty had the audacity to send me another bill in the amount of $41 and demand that payment now as part of service call charge. After talking to another person that has this company, this tends to be what Choice Home is doing more and more. It is no longer the top company as advertised. I am very disappointed plus disappointed that military, com will promote such and recommend.

    I will be looking for another company. If they do this on a $400 repair, I can’t imagine this company warranting and repairing or replacing anything that may be in the thousands to fix. Terrible customer service from Choice! Furthermore, communication is terrible. Supposedly they have sent emails which I have received none. Furthermore, I requested a call back from rep, I was informed that they do not do outgoing calls.

    Got a policy Jan 24, called July A/C vents not working, waited over 3 weeks to hear from someone, kept getting excuses, called locally NO ONE in my community will work with Choice Warranty stating they don't pay their invoices. Needing this done a.s.a.p. with health condition not conducive to having no A/C. Called to cancel, woman at the other end extremely rude and disrespectful when I'm trying not to give up. The only way to get an answer (not resolution) is to cancel, then and only then can you get a non-scripted person. Her answer to the escalated problem "you just need to wait". That's not what I was sold on. I paid for 3 years, got nothing but lip service. As a senior this was the most stressful situation with no results. If you're going to cancel, do it early because they will penalize you for doing so out of your pocket which they tell when selling you a bill of goods.

    Since I switched from AHSW to Choice I have been very disappointed in the service that I have received. Choice is cheaper than where I was before but I would pay more money to have better service. I had an issue with my dishwasher for months and each technician that you sent out (4 of them) told me it was our error or something different. The 5th one you sent out finally found the issue and fixed it. I wasted so many 65 dollar fees for this and even your customer service tried to tell me it was my fault.

    Then I had issues with my A/C and every technician you sent out claimed something different and when they submitted the issue you as a company always found a reason to wiggle out of fixing it, or you wasn’t tracking what the technician wanted and vise versa. I played this game with the a/c for over 2 weeks sweating in Houston,Tx. I will not renew with you and I definitely will not recommend this company to no one. I will probably go back AHSW or another company but definitely not this horrible company.

    Fridge stopped working. Called for service. Took 5 days to get someone here, to "diagnose". Found out part needed was still under Manufacturer Warranty, so was referred to them. Week later, fridge still not fixed. Warranty knew the part was still under Manufacturer warranty and did not share that with me until I called and asked. Further delaying repairs.     I bought the program in August 2023. At the time I was given a 13th month free. This would put my renewal at September 2024. I was called in late June to renew my coverage.     It has been hit or miss with the contractors you send out...Some are good and some are really bad. Either way all contractors do not like to deal with Choice. I don't even like dealing with you anymore. The Choice service reps are rude and not helpful at all. You can tell they read off a script, instead of being helpful. They just say no to everything. Recently I had a pool company come here and they made my problem worse. Took them several weeks to order parts and when they came back to install they broke my turnoff valves. They left so quick without offering to fix the handles that I will be reporting them.

    Doug ** is an experience plumber and once he arrived for the initial visit, I was glad to at least have someone to look at the unit because it had been leaking for over a day all over the garage. He initially said it would be fixed on Tuesday but we had to wait on the Choice Home Warranty people to approve the replacement. I'm happy to have the replacement but it didn't get installed until a week after the leak started. I'm glad it's done but it would be nice to have more info from the insurance co as to costs that the recipient had to pay because I thought most of it was covered. They only covered the water heater and none of the labor, fittings and modifications.

    It cost me $85 for the service call and then another $780. for the removal and replacement. It was much more than I expected, although I am thankful that they at least covered almost 1/2. Doug is obviously a good plumber but he could be a little more thorough on clean-up during and after. I did some of it so it would help him get done faster. The final product looks good and is working properly. The rating is for the lack of info from Choice Home Warranty.

    Don’t use this company, they scam people out of their money!!! I only had two service calls and both experiences were bad. It took 3 companies being called out before someone would actually show up. The second call, the person didn’t show up so they told me to find someone myself and I would get reimbursed. I did, they came out and to try to fix it but since it needed to be replaced I checked with the company first. My claim was denied but they won’t reimburse me for the first call out that they had me do.

    Choice responds quickly to my claims. Some of the people they contact to do the work, not so much. Also paying $85 upfront not knowing if the repair will be covered or not is iffy at best. There are times I don't agree with the claims adjusters but to argue is futile. If they deny your claim you have simply lost your $85 and still have to pay someone to fix your issue.

    I waited 2 weeks for plumber to be sent. Service was never provided. I waited 3 weeks for a technician to come back to repair my dryer only to receive a call that day telling me they had to reschedule another 15 days. 15 days came and technician said dryer needed another part. CHW offered to replace and offered $335 to buy a new one, AFTER I PAID $85 for the "SO CALLED" SERVICE that took 30 DAYS to receive. I called, tried to get a higher replacement amount and was told no. When I tried to cancel coverage, WAS TOLD I WOULD NOT GET THE $335. What kind of service is that?     Do not subscribe to CHW. They run a scam during the sales promising all labor will be covered and then slide you with hundreds of pages of with loopholes. They then pick the worst of technicians available who sneaks in unnecessary labor and cost without proper invoice. Mine said completion and I was asked to pay $388 for a parts that was covered by the manufacturer. I informed CHW the manufacturer will cover the parts and labor and I only have to $85 but CHW asked to continue with their technician as I already paid the $75 and there won’t be any charges here onwards. To my surprise I was slapped with $388 at the end of repair without any prior notice. Stay away from Choice Home Warranty. This is an honest review.

    My experiences with Choice Home Warranty and with the plumbing company contracted to do the actual work were quite different. I submitted my claim to CHW late on a Sunday night so I would assume it was received and reviewed the following Monday morning. I later received an email stating a plumber would be at my home on Thursday between 1-4pm. When no one arrived within that window, I contacted the plumber directly and was told they had received no scheduling notice from anyone and didn’t recognize the claim number I gave them.

    They told me the soonest they could come out would be the following Monday, but that I would be the first appointment on their books. I let CW know and communicated my disappointment (as I had only ever submitted one other claim in the exact same thing had happened). I received an apologetic response, however, was told that there was no way they could get anyone to come out and see me any sooner.

    Later that evening I received an another email from CHW saying that the plumber would be at my home on Monday between 1-4 again. This contradicted what the plumber told me so I called them directly and they reconfirmed that they would be at my home at 9 AM. Once again I let CHW know about the miscommunication. Clearly, there are some issues that need to be addressed regarding scheduling and communication with vendors. I will say, however, that when the plumber did arrive on Monday morning, he was prompt, professional, and did an excellent job.

    Opened a claim regarding hot water tank. Took a day to have a vendor claim it, vendor called me. Company is CENTER GUARD PLUMBING.     First, would like to make it very clear, this review is not about the techs, they did well. Choice company was called on a Sat because AC went out. Received a claim # but not someone to talk to. This is in extreme heat advisory week. We are seniors & one in his 80s. Monday called again to see if come out sooner than Wed. Ironically, we called a different co Sat & had someone out WITHIN the hr of us calling. Had to send away because contract says use their tech or don't pay. So sit in extreme heat for 6 days!! And the best timing for discussion was a week away. My dryer issue is already over a couple of weeks old. The service technician said he could fix it today but he needed approval from Choice Warranty. He went on to say my 2-year-old Whirlpool ventless dryer was not working because it is clogged with lint and the solution to fix is to take apart the dryer see what parts are failing, replace and put back together.     I have been a homeowner for 10 years now and just recently switched to Choice and this is the worst company ever. First ,when you call for a claim you do not speak directly to person. You have to leave your number and someone calls you back within 5mins or even 24 hours. Secondly, I have 3 open claims. One has been open for 2.5 months and is still not repaired. But the most important is my hot water heater which has been broken for 3 weeks now. I have a 5m.o, 11m.o, and a 9y.o and we have gone 3 weeks without hot water because choice will not replace the water heater. They are making the technician do repairs first that has not resolved the issue before authorizing replacing the water heater. And the technician told me himself the water heater needs to be replaced.

    Another claim is the ac was leaking on the structure. They sent out their technician twice, the third time he said he wasn’t coming back out because it’s the same issue. Something needs to be replaced. I threatened to file legal action because ac has been broke for a month and their response was it’s not wear and tear. It has to do with the structure. If the structure is the reason it’s leaking wouldn’t this have been a problem since installation? I ended up having to call a company and pay out of pocket and the company stated there is nothing wrong with the structure and that the primary and secondary lines had not been cleared by the previous technician and he provided photos as proof.

Alex began to work on an area on back of refrigerator to discover a part was needed that would have to be ordered.     I am extremely disappointed at the outcome of the claim that I placed. I was denied because it was said that my condenser failed due to blocking debris. That statement is completely false. My condenser vents were clear and free of dirt and debris. Even the technician stated in his write up that the cause of failure was not due to debris but due to excessive use. They took way too long to come to a decision and living in TX without AC is almost unbearable. Wow! Thanks a lot Choice.     The technician from Beltway Air Comfort found out right away that the problem with my A/C was a bad capacitor so he changed it with the same part number capacitor and the A/C was cooling fine, but after he went to the van he came back and said that the capacitor that was replaced last summer was the wrong part number capacitor for my A/C so he went back and replaced the capacitor with the right one! I’m very pleased with the experience!

    My Ac went out Friday 7/5. I called in around 11:30 am. It took until Monday 7/8 to get a response from a tech. Sears pick up the contract. Gave me a date of 7/22. I called them and they were able to change it for 7/10. 7/10 I take off work and waited around all day, called only to find out they were overbooked and not coming. I was not informed by sears or Choice. They had to cancel and reschedule yet again. Got email the next day saying they are still trying, if I want to find my own I can and get reimbursed. I called Walks Brother heating and air and they came the same day. How is it, I the customer had to find my own tech, pay and now waiting on my money. Will be finding another Cindy and soon.

    It took almost 4 weeks to even get someone to come out and look at the water tank. The first guy I dealt with, was very arrogant and didn’t show up for two different appointments.     This is the first time I have purchased a home warranty. I talked to many of my neighbors who have home Warranties, and they're delighted with their providers. So I researched the best-rated warranty company online and decided to go with Choice Home Warranty. Everything seemed fine until something went wrong. I called about repairing my dryer and waited two weeks for an appointment. Finally, on the date of the appointment, I received a call 20 minutes before the scheduled time and was told the technician was unable to make the appointment. So, I canceled the warranty call and purchased a new dryer.

    Several days later, my air conditioning was having issues. This occurred on. 6/24./2024. I was originally very pleased that they scheduled an appointment within a week. Until that appointment was canceled. I contacted Choice, and it was rescheduled for July 11th (thirteen days later). July 11th came; no one showed up, and no one contacted me even though I confirmed the appointment numerous times. I contacted your service provider (Sears Home Service), and they provided no reason why no one showed up for the appointment but said they could reschedule again. For July 18. I don't know if this is how Choice operates, but I'm waiting 22 days. For an appointment to fix an air conditioning system when the outside temperature is in the 90s. Is ludicrous.

    I like the way we submit our claims online. But it is very hard to get in contact with a human if you make a mistake on your request. When I did talk with someone, they were very nice and so helpful. Overall very good process. I would recommend Choice Home Warranty to others.     This is the worst warranty company I have ever had to deal with. The customer service is awful and the people they hire to send out are uneducated and thieves. We had a plumber come out twice and tell us our water pressure was fine and no issues.... told Choice they put parts in that they did not.... No follow up with us to see what was done! Now, the system is still not working and we found a leak and Choice is making us jump through hoops just to get approval!

    Another instance we had someone steal 2 motherboards to our refrigerator even though they had nothing to do with the problem and we had to fight tooth and nail and almost get an attorney involved to get full value for our refrigerator. I would not recommend until they decide the customer and the customer experience should come first!!!!
