    Where do I begin? Our AC stopped working on 6/11 during a month long streak of 100 plus degree NC weather. It took exactly a month to have a compressor replaced on a 22-year-old package unit when the unit should have been replaced. Choice and the vendor I was forced to use ordered the wrong compressor and then spent the next month giving me the run around as to who was waiting on who to order the compressor. I called CHW and the vendor every day pleading with them for an update, a time frame anything. Nope.

    I spoke to 10 different cases managers who all blamed the vendor (their vendor) and kept telling me “What do you want us to do?”. Like it was too much to ask for them to give me a reasonable time frame and not just say 3-5 business days so they could say it again on the 6th,7th business day. I was left with a choice to either find a cheap hotel to preserve the health of my family and dog or wait on them to get it together. I filed a BBB complaint and CHW is hiding behind terms that basically say it’s ok to not do your job and treat your customers like an annoyance. Lies on top of lies as to when things will be ordered and work scheduled.

    After having to pay for a hotel I found it reasonable for them to help me out on the $900 compressor. No, they somehow found a way to blame me because I agreed to their terms allowing them to be terrible. Their response to the BBB and me on the phone was “Well it’s fixed now so what’s the issue?” Imagine for a month straight not being able to sleep in 100 degree plus temperatures, having to call and beg for updates every day, being lied to, and then be told it’s your fault because you trusted us to sign a contract. That is my experience with this company. No wonder there are several class action lawsuits.

    Technician found the problem the evaporator was leaking, parts were no longer made. Choice quickly offered compensation for a new refrigerator at about half the cost. That is not as advertised as they say they will replace the appliance. I also didn't like that the compensation takes thirty days to receive. I needed a a replacement in a day so as not to lose all the food in the refrigerator.

    I'd give 0 stars If I can. They absolutely make up reasons for not paying anything to your claim! In the policy it was mentioned that they cover the pool heater and then the pool heater got broken. Refused to pay for it and gave me a ridiculous quote from their vendor because it was broken by the effect of a rodent. Also, careful guys when they try to sell you, the salesperson won't mention that If they do fix anything in the period of the agreement and you decided to cancel it they will take back from you any fees that they paid for!

They apparently don't intend to cover anything, as they have a catch all claim for any issue that it "isn't a part of normal wear and tear".     Recently switched warranty co only because of cost. Choice never sent my policy which I thought would come in the mail. 2 months in my AC begins making a loud noise. I look for my policy & realized I never received it. It didn’t come in the mail & wasn’t in my email. I filed a it claim & it was denied as pre-ex. Prior to this claim I wasn’t having an issue with my AC. They email me the policy & it says known or unknown pre-ex not covered.     My Frigidaire refrigerator fails frequently. It burns the power supply board six times in a one-and-a-half-year period, and each time, it takes at least fifteen days to repair. We requested Choice to find the root cause of this problem. However, the technician Choice chosen (Sears) each time does not have the capability to find the root cause of the problem. Now, even they do not check anything; instead, they order the power supply board and replace it.     Worst company ever. Bought a house and moved in. AC didn't work, put in a claim in May. The tech they contracted through did a no show and then kept rescheduling appointments, wasted my PTO. After 3 visits, blower motor and capacitor replaced, freon refilled and sealant added, it was the end of June. 1 week later, AC still not working. Submitted second claim beginning of July. They couldn't get a tech out until July 18. (Different tech company from the first claim.)

    Tech said the evaporation coils are done. The unit is old (original unit with the home built in 1971). It's leaking freon everywhere from the coils. Tech said he recommends the unit be replaced. He said he'll write it up for a replacement. This was the last time I had an update. It's been 4 months since May and I still don't have a working AC. I had to go buy a window AC unit. Every time I call either company, they give me the runaround saying that they're waiting on the other company... I guess 4 months and going is a 'timely' manner. There's been no updates to my claim since.

    I was with this company for 3-4 years. Choice seem to always find ways around my claims. On this particular claim, I called in to have a plumber or technician come out because of the foul smell coming out my basement from the 2 traps as it appeared and as I explained to my agent. A day or two they dispatched a plumber that was not very pleasant or professional. He made note of the odor, opened one trap, standing straight up he shined his flashlight into it and told me I would need a power-flush that would not be covered by my Choice warranty. That would cost me $800 out of pocket. Then billed me $85 for the visit.

    After complaining over the phone that they sent someone for a job that they weren't going to cover, a couple weeks later while on the phone with another plumbing company who was booked up for weeks, gave me some very simple advice to check the traps to see if they were dry and to add & maintain water to keep THE SEWER GASES blocked out....     Since l bought my warranty in March I've had two claims. One for my refrigerator and the other for my microwave. The microwave claim was easy, they gave me about 80% of the cost to replace it. My refrigerator claim was terrible. It was two months from the time l reported my refrigerator until the problem was resolved with again less money to replace my refrigerator. CHW replaces appliances at the wholesale price and wants to give you a gift certificate to Lowe's which is a retail store. We had to meet with a claim specialist for both issues to request a check instead of a gift certificate so we could shop for a replacement at wholesale. We will definitely not be renewing our warranty with CHW when it expires.

    After 3 weeks of trial and error by the tech it still has a problem when it gets hot and the cooler fan over the compressor stops and heats up the compressor. He has changed the fan, cleaned the coils and still is not sure what to do next. I think it needs a new compressor which is heating up and causing the problem.     It has been a month of finger pointing and my refrigerator is still not repaired. The repair technician used old part numbers and description for the parts. Choice Warranty said they would not cover one of the parts nor its installation. Choice said I had to pay approx. $25.00 for the part. Sears said that since Choice would not pay for the part I had to pay for the part and installation total of $566.00.     The technician was personable and professional. He made the repair and our tub no longer leaked! He said our laundry tub needed to be replaced and quoted a price of $2300. That seemed high to me, so I got an estimate from another plumber who said the repair was exactly what they would have done and should last for years.     They say they cover the cost of repairs or replacements. But, if your appliance is old, they only cover the price of (say dishwasher) what it cost way back when it was new. In other words in today's world the dishwasher costs 3 times what they cover. In my case, they gave me approx. $245; try and find a dishwasher at that price! They do NOT replace by getting it, installing it and/or hauling the old away. I paid ahead and now want to cancel. They are charging over $600 to cover their cost of service charges AND the dishwasher money. In other words, I paid for their services, my $65 service charge and they want it all back. I am looking in here to find out if this is legal.

    First off no one ever told me about this copay being increased. I was completely taken by surprise by it. My latest is that our AC went out in the middle of 100+ degree heat. They finally found someone to come out in 9 days. They had to find someone 50 miles away to look at it. Totally unacceptable.     Choice Home Warranty is not what they stated on their website. First they LIED about sending out Techs{3), no one ever showed up. Three months went by with no followup by anyone, the problem came back. This time I had to get a Manager from the Resolution Dept. involved, finally after 4 days {holiday-4th July} a company called Tinks Appliance Repairs, LLC was sent out. Run from this company!! My fridge was working for three months prior from the first report that the freezer was not working. When the Tinks tech left my refrigerator was no longer cooling, causing over $350. worth of food from the Holiday to quickly spoil. I called back both companies, but no one wanted to take responsibility for my loss.

    Choice Home replacement policy is to send a gift card to OVERPRICED LOWE'S, which means you won't be replacing your refrigerator unless you can afford to pay $1000-$2000 along with the money they send. Which by the way is only the value of your appliance. This process takes 30 days in the mail to receive a card/check after approval from Corporate. I asked why I couldn't receive it the same way they take your payments," policy is it has to come from Corporate". I would NEVER EVER recommend these two companies to my ENEMY!! BE VERY LEERY OF THESE COMPANIES!! I RATE THEM A 1-STAR, and that was only because the Resolution Manager- Lakeisha was very helpful and understanding- She deserves 4 stars for her efforts. This company bombards you with lots of emails like those scam likely calls!!

    My air conditioner went out Tuesday, July 30. I called it in when I got home from work at 1:43 pm. Wednesday morning, still no answer from CHW until almost noon. Then the company that was contacted to come to my house for repair cannot come until Friday 11-3. My daughter just had surgery and is in a brace and bandages. She is very uncomfortable and it was 88 in the house. My husband explained the urgency and circumstances needed and absolutely nothing was escalated. I’ve never had a problem with CHW, but this time I feel like I have been let down and concern was not addressed with my daughter’s condition. Not to mention, heat index today was over 100 degrees!

    I read through the BASIC AGREEMENT and thought that $45/mo was a fair price for this warranty. When I received the information relative to the Agreement via my internet I noticed the ADDED COST OF $100/SERVICE CALL. So, if I go 11 months without a problem and then call for a broken door on my Microwave... that cost to repair the door goes to $595. I could buy TWO Microwaves for that amount of money. Please cancel my agreement immediately...

    My water well stopped working. No water for the house or my property with daytime temps 100+. It took them about a week to send someone out but they sent a plumber not a well person. I could not wait any longer as the yard was near gone so I hired a well company. They came out that day and I paid a hearty bill. Choice offered me 300.00 for the inconvenience. I said no and canceled. I won't do business with this company. With the help of several great neighbors and about 500 feet of hoses hooked together I was able to save most, not all of the plants. This whole experience was horrible.

They want to pay less than what I can buy a microwave for and refused to have the built-in microwave installed which is an additional cost to me of $170 in addition to buying a microwave for more money than they offered.     At this point, I have only talked to the salesman, Adam **. He explained everything very well. He was very knowledgeable and knew the warranty coverage very well. I received the warranty coverage in my email just moments after I purchased the warranty. I did a quick read and was pleased with the coverage. I purchased the complete coverage rather than the basic plan. I live out in the country and have a water well and a septic system. I have the option to expand my policy to cover these as well. Adding those on increases the policy price, but I feet it’s worth an additional $13 per month. At this point, I would recommend Choice Home Warranty.

    Choice Home Warranty - one of the worst company to deal with. We take insurance to have a peace of mind. But they add up more after sucking good amount of money from Customers. Their customer service department - One of the worst to deal with. You will not have proper answer and they simply deny the claim. When our appliances stopped working, simply they bring one of the clause & deny the claim. If with all 'if & buts' & doesn't cover the appliance then what's the use of having a policy? We shall pay that money towards technician rather than giving it to choice home warranty. I am cancelling my poilcy after a bitter experience.

    I filed a claim which happened to be the day my policy took place for my dryer not working. After waiting a week and a half our company would like to say that we lied about when it stopped working even though we just bought the house in the last 6 weeks and the dryer was signed off in our home inspection as working and has been used numerous times.     - I signed up with Choice on 7/10/2024 for a 6 years contract ending in 2030. - On 7/24/24 I submitted a claim for water leak of the cloth dryer. - On 7/24/24 Choice send me an email rejecting my claim due to invalidity. I called Choice Service Dept and was told that there was an error and the claim was approved. - On 7/25/24 Choice sent an email saying that a contractor has been assigned. - On 7/26/24 the contractor came and determined that the leak comes from the utility laundry tub located next to the cloth dryer. I submitted a new claim for the leaky laundry tub. - On 7/27/24 I received an email from Choice saying that a contractor has been selected and will be coming to fix the water leak on 8/1/24 which is 6 days away.

    - I called Choice to see if they can find another contractor that can come sooner and was told that the contractor had been selected and if I want the contractor to come sooner I need to call the contractor. Choice will not contact the contractor on my behalf. - I called Brandon **, the Choice representative who signed me up with Choice, left message for him to call me but he never called me back!!!! - On 7/27/24 I contacted Choice's contractor and begged him to come sooner, he agreed to come on Monday 7/29/24. He did come on 7/29 and repaired the water leak in 20 minutes!!!

    I am handling another property for my friend in McLean, VA. She is using American Home Shield and I never had this kind of problem with American Home Shield. I thought Choice Home Warranty is the number one Choice, and I was wrong!!!! This whole episode with Choice was surreal and painful. I want to get out of the contract with Choice, get reimbursed, and forget about this bad experience!!!
