    Both technicians that came to service my issue were wonderful. The issue was with choice home warranty in sending technicians that can’t solve overlying issues. The reason for my claim initiated with problems with my garbage disposal - which is connected to plumbing. Choice sent a technician who diagnosed the problem and said they could fix it. Choice denied the claim because the overarching problem was “plumbing” and not garbage disposal. So the technician at my home was unable to fix the problem. I had to submit a second claim, for the same problem. It was over a week from my initial claim that the second technician came. They fixed the problem, were wonderful and professional, but the first technician could have also fixed the problem.

I answered, was transferred to Anthony out of Edison, NJ toward the end of the 30 min call, Anthony got rude that I had a Doctor's Appt, and then of course the nasty came out and he said I was wasting his time...     I can't rate you on the experience, because the job is not done. The instructions on have to do the claim reimbursement is hard to follow. The email stated to, "technician MUST submit a complete diagnosis online at www.chwclaims.com." The company didn't know what to do, so the send it confirm@choicehomewarranty.com.     My experience began on Monday August 12, 2024. I have returned home from work, Monday evening. I Noticed I turn down the AC to allow the house to get cooler. 20mins later, Notice the temperature didn't change. I felt something was not working properly with the AC.     I was pleasantly surprised with the service I received after contacting Choice Warranty. Surprised because I have used other companies only to be met with a barrage of questions when filing a claim, questions designed to disqualify the claim. That was not the case with CHW. I was asked two questions: the make of the dryer and what the problem was. They had a repairman at my house two days later; he found the broken part, replaced it and my dryer is working beautifully.

    I am not in the habit of giving bad reviews but feel Choice does not give clients what it claims. As a matter of fact I feel that I have been scammed by joining Choice Home Warranty and it is not what it advertises itself to be. They in one case without even having anyone see my 2 year old in perfect condition dishwasher was broken and it would be cheaper to replace it with gift cards from Lowes valued at under $300. The technician had not shown up 2 weekends in a row. When he did show up he fixed the appliance in a matter of minutes which I knew would happen. My stackable washer/dryer was broken and they claimed it would be too expensive to fix.. They only allowed under $400 for the dryer. That is ridiculous. The washer and dryer are one piece. If you get rid of one, you get rid of both. And if the dryer had been gotten rid of it could not have been replaced by $400.

    This is a scam company. I'm trying to decide whether to take them to small claims court or not. I feel they are so crooked that if I won, they probably would not pay. I'm 80 years old and I have never dealt with such a "fraudulent" company. I feel that I have been taken to the cleaners! Choice Warranty should not be allowed to make the fake claims that they do!

    My AC stopped and set up appointment online. Then I was able to get it running so cancelled appointment. Then it went out again and I put in new claim. The new claim did not get to anyone that I know of. I FINALLY talked to a female that morning and she promised to call me back in 3 hours but she never did.     Problem reported 8/6/2024. A/c not cooling. Needed 6 lb of coolant. Clearly a coolant leak. Tech could not work on my unit because Coolant technology and regulations necessitated an upgrade resulting in the need for Evaporator Coils and Condenser replacement. Choice determined that this repair was not covered under my Warranty as it meant an "upgrade" to my A/C components to comply with "regulatory issues." Choice said it would "Help" me by offering one of the needed components at cost or below Retail, but indicated that the second component would be at my full expense and would have to be paid to the Technician's company at time of install.

    My out of pocket expense for a covered major component would have been approximately $4,000. What good is having a warranty if you end up paying $4,000 to have the unit repaired? Dedicated Case Manager, what a joke. Despite five attempts to establish voice contact in real time, I have yet to speak with the Case Manager assigned to my claim (a co-worker did make contact, but could not handle my Appeal).

    Every time I tried to get my actual Case Manager, I got kicked to her APPOINTMENT CALENDAR and she never had any available time slots within 12 hours of my call. Atlanta, GA summertime heat with no A/C is not something that I want to wait on for my 15 minute chat time slot. Your Dedicated Case Manager system is not set up to deal with events that require a fast reaction time. Choice should establish a QUICK REACTION TEAM for emergency situations on systems and major Appliance repairs i.e., Freezer or Refrigerator not working, A/C not working, etc.

    The initial response was pretty good, 2 days for the initial technician to tell me the obvious, we need a new water heater. Since that time, no information or update from Choice but when I ask the installer they tell me Choice sent the water heater to AZ instead of TX. Therefore, earliest possible install will be "early" next week. Installer is having problems getting choice to do their job! This is besides the over charge we were willing to pay to get this done. Contract state water heater and components but I have a list of components I am having to pay for. That is a fight for another day. I need a water heater so I'm willing to pay unreasonable upcharges.

    Check my reviews. I never give 1 star. I reserve one star reviews for this kind of company. We perform appliance repair services in Northern Utah. We drove outside of our normal service area to help them with this service. Choice Home Warranty and their parent company "Rely" authorized the repair. We completed the repair. They are now refusing to pay us. How many other companies are they taking advantage of like this? I would stay away from them and not renew any services with them. If they do this to their servicers how do they treat the homeowners?

    We had a claim for the repair/Replacement of our hot water heater that was leaking water from the top of it. The claim was placed online a plumber was dispatched to our home within 1 day. The plumber did an assessment and took photos of the tank. They stated that it needed to be replaced. They didn’t provide any estimates at that time and they would send there results of a replacement same tank. Our claim was denied due to the size of the tank of 80 gallons.

    The policy only allows for up to a 75 gallon tank replacement, which did state that the tank size must be under 75 gallons for replacement. I placed in a review and was denied for a replacement tank but would provide a $200 towards a replacement tank. The water tank was installed in the home when we purchased it in 2010. If I had know that it didn’t cover the size water tank I would have not bought the Choice Home Warranty.

    Choice Home Warranty is absolutely a scam. Don't go for it and would recommend anyone to not get trapped in this scam. Took warranty for five years and they gave free one year, paid $2475. After one year, my AC evaporator coil started leaking Freon, filed the claim with choice. They provided local company. The technician came in and advised to replace whole indoor and outdoor unit. Choice agreed to pay for only coil which costs about $700 and gave me an estimate of $1500 for outside unit and $2380 for labor. On top it, other accessories costs would be extra. I called my AC technician after one week of hell and he fixed in 3 hours just by replacing coil only but I still had to pay out of pocket. I cancelled my home warranty and got pro rated refund back from CHOICE. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID IF YOU CAN AND DON'T TRAP IN THIS HOME WARRANTY SCAM. CHOICE HOME WARRANTY IS A SCAM.

    The Plumber was clean, friendly and courteous. He arrived at 1:37pm and left and 1:51 pm. He called his office to check to see about the job three times. He installed the new pop up assembly and left. He told me there was water under the sink inside the cabinet. That would have not been good for the cabinet floor if left there. At 84 years of age and suffering from my fourth and fifth Cancers I could not get under the sink to clean up not only water but black powder like mess. I tried to clean this up by using my foot on a cloth. I could not reach all the way to the back of the cabinet. I left it open overnight to hopefully dry. Will have my cleaning lady clean the cabinet floor next week when she comes.

    The communication in the company is ridiculous. You have to keep making phone appointments every time you need to speak to anyone, which are usually during work hours about 4 days out. If you have water leaking, good luck to you because this could take weeks. You call about a broken system that is leaking, they come out to fix it, and during the repair after the fix one part of the system is leaking…this of course means that you need to pay an additional fee because it’s a new claim?! (Even though it was never fix in the first place!!!) I have dealt with multiple insurance companies in the past, and this seems to be a new kind of con!!) Oh, and there is no one you can escalate the complaint to because the only number provided goes straight to voicemail, and does not return your request for a call back.

    I had two extremely frustrating experiences with Choice Home Warranty, and honestly, they don't even deserve one star. First, I had an issue with my kitchen faucet. The knob broke inside the plastic part, and when I contacted them, I was told that this wasn’t considered “normal wear and tear,” so it wasn’t covered. It’s ridiculous—how can something like this not be covered? Then, my microwave started malfunctioning, sometimes starting automatically and sometimes not working at all. A technician came out and confirmed that a part needed to be replaced, stating it was normal wear and tear. However, when I spoke to a claims specialist, they said the opposite and denied the claim. When they’re selling you the warranty, they are friendly and accommodating, but once you need to file a claim, they completely turn on you. This feels like a big scam.     I called Choice Home warranty to ask if a clogged drain on my AC unit was covered. I didn’t want to pay a service fee to find out it wasn’t a covered item and then have to pay for the repair in addition to the service fee. I was assured it was covered but when the AC company arrived it was not covered so I paid for a $85 service fee and then paid full price for the service I was told was covered.     I have had Choice Home Warranty for 3 years and every time I have a problem you send a different repair company. Talking with the companies before they state it’s because it’s hard to work for you. The last time I used the home warranty the technician said it should have been covered by the warranty but you turned down my claim. Now you want me to pay for the repairs and I may or may not get reimbursed by you. It seems that if you leave out a word here or add a word there you turn down a claim.     I received a call from a Choice representative about a month ago and after talking to the representative for about 10 minutes I decided to switch from my current warranty company which was AHS and I must say it was a great decision. About a 45 days into my plan, my A/C went down so I put a ticket in. It did take about 3 days for them to assign a contractor but once they did he came out the next day, diagnosed the issue and ordered the part needed. I got a message telling me the part has been ordered and the next date they will be out to do put in the new part. They have been great so far and I hope they stay this way. AHS started out great but continuously and went downhill and found ways to get out of paying for things through their “fine print”.     I was very unhappy on how Choice Home Warranty handled the claim. They were impossible to reach by phone and once I was set up with a claims specialist the link to set up an appointment did not work. I reached out to the local sales representative and he helped me as well as his claims representative which I think is the only reason why my air condition got fixed. It was over 100 degrees and I was with air for 6 days. The company that fix my unit was amazing. They did a wonderful job. I am pretty sure he was a one man company, however he responded when I called and was very helpful. He went the extra mile and I was very appreciative.

    The service provider did a wonderful job. I still have not received the Lowe's card which doesn't scratch the surface of replacing my washer. I would prefer it be fixed instead of having to pay hundreds of dollars for. This is the reason I use home warranty. I think the fair thing is to offer the client to fix it.     On August 8th, 2024 I called to submit a claim request because the springs on my garage door broke. When I called I was expecting to speak with someone but instead, I got an automated answer.     Technicraft the company you sent out and I paid $75.00 to does not know what they are doing. They wanted to replace the thermostat and capacitor. Had another company come out. The unit was out of Freon. There is a leak somewhere. The unit shut down when the Freon got too low. I paid $75.00 for nothing! I asked your guy to check the Freon, he said another guy with their company does the Freon check. Not satisfied with them or your company!

    I do not like that the service call must be paid for before the work is completed. It should be paid for after the job is completed and done satisfactorily. If your company does not authorize parts and service for an item, I am out of $75.00. I was with American Home Shield for 30 years and was a loyal paying customer. I left them because of bad customer service. I hope this company is much better.
