My claim was submitted on the first day and the response was on the same day to file a claim and by the time I got back to my home, an appointment had been set up and the window was very appropriate, 11:00 - 3:00, not too early and not an 8 hour window. I can live with that acknowledgement and appreciation of someone's time.

I called today to purchase a home warranty policy. Agent, Joshua, was great! Joshua recommended a Senior policy which was a considerable savings in premium and also lowered the service fee. Very satisfied with the service Joshua provided. Policy coverage is very comprehensive. I would highly recommend Joshua and Choice Home Warranty.

Signing up for Choice Home Warranty was super easy and it took very little time. The representative I spoke was very professional, knowledgeable and did not try to give me any sales pitch, he just told me what they offer and the prices. I talked with different plumbers, electrians and builders I know and Choice Home Warranty keep coming up. I am looking forward to working with a company that stands behind their name and reputation!

I have three small claims submitted to this company starting in Aug 2023. Not one of them has been addressed. Submitted all pictures and diagnosis receipts and still nothing! Had an emergency - hot water heater that was flooding my back room - was actually told that they do not handle emergencies. According to them they have no techs in my area (NC) - so I found my own and then was denied because they didn't approve - even after submitting all necessary paperwork. I cancelled my contract with them and they have been taking payments out of my account and even rolled the warranty over another year - NEVER agreed to this. STAY AWAY FROM THEM - don't understand why they are listed in top 5 companies.

Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable customer representative. Call back time excellent!!! Love it a lot don't have to wait long, in few minutes someone call me back. We end up cancelling our claim because the company called and trust to help us fix the problem will not fill out the form online. The Choice customer representative inform me that I can submit the diagnostic myself but I went over the form and there's some others information I don't know so we decided to cancel the work order and we just pay the repair out of pocket. The choice representative did their best to assist us and we understand the company policy and procedures. All in all we are glad to be member of Choice Home Warranty.

My ac unit was leaking water. I put in the claim over the weekend and received notification by Monday of a technician coming to fix. He arrived Tuesday morning within the set time window and quickly assessed and fixed the problem. No hassle and easy to get done. Thank you!

It sucksss. They sell false things. Takes months to get anything repaired with hidden service call fees and back and forth. The technicians are super bad and do not know much further adding to delays. There are random bills from the service technicians. When you cancel, they charge all the past claim payments to you mentioning a small clause in the agreement. I would stay away from these folks!!!!

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I paid upfront for the plan with extra coverage. 6 months in our washing machine (which was 6 years old) lid broke - the hinge snapped off. I waited 3 days for a reply after filing a claim.... When the repairman came, he said it couldn't be fixed and he would order a part.... Estimate 7-10 days.... Waited and waited - nothing... I kept calling for updates with no resolution.
Finally after 3 (THREE) months of not having a washing machine, I was told that part was not available and to replace my washing machine - They gave me $375 toward a new comparable washer which cost $900! Then the central air was blowing hot air.... Waited 2 weeks when finally told to hire my own repair as they could not supply one.... They had the HVAC company come back 3 times to do further testing over a one month period.... Finally after 2 months, I was told they would pay $2,605 toward a $10,500 new system - which I had to pay for UPFRONT.... Service was absolutely awful - not customer friendly at all. I have since cancelled this policy.

Nathan did a great job outlining the different policies and understood what would best work for us. No pressure sales tactics. Just a good old fashioned summary of the plans, their differences and the final decision was left to me to make. I understand why they have such a high customer review and why folks are so happy after working with them.

Our technician arrived on time and called when he was on the way. That was greatly appreciated. He was very thoughtful about putting coverings over his shoes so as not to track anything in from outside. He was able to fix the problem in no time. He put the refrigerator back in place. However, it was the next day that I had time to clean up the floor where the water leak had stained the floor. Of course I had to pull the refrigerator out from against the wall. As I was scrubbing floor I noticed the vent at the bottom was so covered with dust I felt now was the time to get to that. I was disappointed that the technician would not have blown out that area when he was in there working on it.
n other service calls to refrigerators we have had in the past this was an automatic thing the technicians did. Had I thought of it at the time I would have taken a picture that would have shown the clearly visible dust pile that had accumulated (due to my lack of timely cleaning) that remained after the repair. Had he done just done that I would have given a top of the line 5 star rating.

Choice continued trying to locate a repair service for our cook top until one was located and an appointment was made. Will give a complete review when service is completed. Original contact with Choice was very helpful, the person I spoke to was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Choice also kept us updated as to progress of our claim.

To speak with a real person. Ai system doesn’t understand numbers when spoken. And when entered not correct. So very frustrating and issue not resolved and need the number to be able to follow up with repair company once assigned as they doesn’t always contact right away and it’s an emergency or won’t be calling. This would accomplish customer service and expedite getting information to the repair company. The present system is frustrating and too impersonal. Improvement would allow customer feel heard and issue being resolved.

The AC tech sent you a summary of what was wrong with the AC and you chose to take the cheapest alternative. In the meantime I have been suffering through the heat since 7/31 off and on. I prepaid for five year and attempted to cancel during the 3rd year as I had other issues. I will not be renewing in Jan as the warranty company I previously had was much more flexible and cooperative.

My AC had stopped working. We called CHW to file a claim. The 1st technician came out said he was not comfortable doing his job because there was too many wires and he suggested we call CHW back to get someone else out. 2nd technician said there was something wrong with the breaker box he thought. So another technician came out and said it was not the breaker box it was the part on the AC on the outside that was not working correctly. I had to call several times which was more than 3 times to get your company to get someone to fix my AC. We had paid our deductible and found out that was returned. Then we were told by the last technician that CHW was ordering the parts but CHW told us the tech was ordering the parts. This situation had been going on for several months.
Finally we were told by CHW the original part was $556 and some change, it was returned because the part they had found was cheaper @ $445 and we would be billed. All we had to do was pay the technician $1275. But after the installation he asked us for $1720 which put us in a bind (total confusion). I am disappointed with CHW due to all the phone calls and all the wrong information that was given to us not once but several times before the issue was done.
That situation caused me frustration and sleepless nights because this was going on when the weather was up in the 90’s for a long period of time. This is not the whole story but enough to let you know I will not recommend your Company to anyone especially my family or friends. You guys need to make this right. You can give me a 6 month or 1yr of free of not paying monthly amount or you can pay the technician fee when a claim is filed. Thanks for your time and attention.

I found it somewhat difficult trying to schedule the appt. Not speaking with a live person and answering questions. Once it was scheduled, everything came together very quickly. I was informed when they were coming, who was coming, when they were on their way. I was very impressed and happy how quickly it was repaired.

Leaks paid. $85 and so far out of the money. Nothing done. Paid for full coverage under the Veterans plan. I want all my money back plus the $85. Plumber came, took picture, that was it. Totally disappointed. Been without my handicap shower for over a week. Want to drop my policy. Will just call myself a plumber. I need my shower. Sorry I ever got your useless policy.

CHW was able to find R&J, Rick, the day after I filed my claim. Rick was great! He was able to clear my drain and he gave me some advice on my other shower issue. He worked quickly and was very efficient. I removed one star due to the customer service when I call. It seems like I always get sales and they just transfer me without saying anything, like they're only interested in sales. That's why I filed my last claim online, but I did end up having to call to give them some information. The girl who took my call was a little impatient with me also when I had a question. Otherwise, this claim was handled very well.

Very satisfied with the tech and Choice. Just waiting on e gift card to replace appliance. It is not the total cost to replace. It would be nice if you had some special pricing or discount with Lowe's for purchasing from them (Lowe's Gift card). I know another warranty has that feature.

I called to get my dishwasher repaired September 20 and received a repair confirmation for Friday September 27. In the email I was told that normally there is a 24-48 hour wait. In my case it’s 7 days? That’s a week outside your own standard response time. I would hope your response time is a lot quicker if it was winter and someone had to wait a week with no heat!

Buyer Beware... I have had home warranties pretty much the entire time I have owned a home. I initially made the switch to Choice about 3 years ago when my other plan annual cost got too uncompetitive. Early on, Choice was very attentive to my needs, they made the process easy, and they covered what the policy stated it would cover. When I renewed the 2nd time, I decided to renew for 3 yrs to save a little on the annual fee as my first year of experience convinced me I would likely use them for the long haul. WELL, TIMES HAVE CHANGED!! The longer I've been with them, the more I see a trend that they are going to do anything and everything they can do to "deny a claim".
I have had 2 major failures on AC systems that the technicians they sent to my home to diagnose the issue (of which they clearly spelled out in writing that the failure was caused by "normal wear and tear") and they have denied both. They then give you the ability to appeal the claim - just to have that department tell you there is nothing they can do and there is no one higher you can talk to "even though they see and understand why I believe the claim should be covered". When their technicians write on the invoice provided to you and the warranty company and state "this failure is caused to normal wear and tear", it's pretty obvious ... and then they still deny the claim.
One of the claims was for an identical failure that they covered on a different AC unit last year (ECM motor failure requiring replacement), yet this year they denied the same failure (on another unit). One of the appeal agents even told me .. "I see here we have covered several different failures of equipment while you have had the policy in the amounts of $ **" ... yes sure - that's why I pay for home warranty coverage because I want the peace of mind that unexpected failures will be covered, but not so you can STOP/DENY coverage for equipment that is clearly covered under my policy, just because you think I have already got enough coverage from the policy on other things. Anyway, BUYER BEWARE.. Sadly Choice Home Warranty is NOT there to provide their customers with "peace of mind" for the long haul, like they claim to be!

Mesa, AZ, 6Sep2024 our a/c went out. Internal temp 93°F. Repair visit set for 9 days away. Canceled appt. Spoke to Kendra who wished me a blessed day (twice), but the next appt was still set at 4 days out. When repairman came he said it was normal wear and tear / had to replace motor. Told us no one wants to take Choice work orders because they often don't get paid and most of the requests are denied. 20 phone calls to Choice and repair vendors. Call center was very hard to understand and of no help. 10 Sept denied due to 'lack of maintenance'.
Since 2016 my husband has annually cleaned coils; replaces filters monthly; replaced gas valve, gas line, circuit board, capacitors, fan motor on condenser, blower motor on furnace, and thermostat. Choice did not ask us about previous maintenance, but we could appeal the decision. Canceled contract and husband repaired for less than $120.00. These are the worst kind of scammers who target and rip off consumers who might need expense repairs they can't afford otherwise.

Thursday 19 of sept I called CHW Sept 20 and told the customer service rep that our AC unit was bad. The representative said, "Don’t worry. You are Insured. We will arrange for tech right away," the tech confirmed that the condenser was bad. A tech showed up sat on the 21st around 4:40 afternoon. We are waiting for our AC unit patiently. The tech said he would put order in for AC.

Technician figured out that it was water pump. But needed to get approval from Choice before he could order part which might come in Monday 9/23/24. Then technician will call to make another appointment to come and install. I was hoping it would have gotten fixed that same day. Not happy about that.

Filing the claim was a breeze. Easy and straightforward. Unfortunately, I could not wait for the technician because plumbing issue needs immediate attention. Water is essential as well as damaging when you have a bust pipe and leaking ceiling. Claim was filed on Friday, the plumber wanted to come on Monday, with a crowded home, it was not possible to wait that long.

Michael from Converse Repair Center was very professional, courteous, communicative and timely. He came the day after we filed our claim and promptly diagnosed the issue. Parts needed to be ordered and he gave us an approximate date for return and repair. So far, we are extremely pleased with his services.

This one was right on the money. I reported our A/C in the morning and before Noon a technician came and fixed it. This has not always happened on past services. When we have had troubles with technicians showing, Choice replaced them with another technician. The website pretty simple to use to input claims. Much better than calling in.

I've had Choice for almost 1 year now and have placed 3 service calls with 2 out of 3 being covered services. The one service that wasn't covered (rewrapping my HVAC ductwork) the technician did stop the condensation problem that caused the moisture on the insulation, so that problem was 1/2 way resolved. Another tech came out to fix my washing machine and another to repair a part of my ductwork that was disconnected but well insulated. Paying $75 per call is expensive but less expensive than paying the full cost for each of these repairs. I've already renewed my warranty for next year. The only negative is that you don't get to choose the company but so far all have been pretty good and they actually show up! I like that you can place your claim online or speak with an actual person without being on hold forever. So far Choice has great customer service too.

The tech was very professional and thorough. The problem was solved quickly after discussing what was going to be done for the repair and did so without making a mess of the area involved. The tech was timely and stayed in touch for the appointment and followed up with an email with the receipt copy and pictures and a follow up phone call.

Technician came on time and diagnosed the problem. He then set a further appointment. Hopefully when he returns, he will have the proper parts and fix the problem. He was courteous and professional. Out of a $10000 bill to replace my furnace/boiler I am only getting $375 dollars towards the bill. I called customer service while the technician was here as he missed the call from the adjuster and customer service refused to connect both of them. The boiler failed as it was leaking water and could not be saved. So I have no hot water or heat as I never got a response to the last inquiry.

My wine has been unrefrigerated for a month now and I don't want to wait another month to get the egift card for Lowe's it seems. I would like it to be sooner than later if at all possible. I have some very expensive bottles of wine that need to be cooled or go bad.

Technician was really good at diagnosis as well as fixing the issue with my AC blower. Would have liked if the review of diagnosis and related approval went faster than 2 days considering it was very hot. Other than that everything else was fairly smooth.

I am disappointed in the service you provided because according to you representative your coverage for a clogged is limited to the snaking of a plumbing line less than 100 feet according to the policy guidelines. I explained that tech who worked on the line stated that he used a 6 feet long snake without success but needed something longer, may be a twelve feet snake but did not get your approval for additional budget. That is disappointing especially considering that I was told that your coverage limit is 100 feet or less. Also, the plumber who worked on the drain is alleging that Choice also withdraw the initial authorization/approval. Please at the very least, someone should look into that to ensure that he is properly compensated for the work he already did.

My AC is located overhead in the bathroom. When I called Choice Warranty, a plumber was sent out. The service was prompt. Greg came in, looked at the issue, asked questions, listened to my answers and concluded that I needed an AC technician. Darius from Lone Star Home and Commercial arrived, looked at the problem, fixed it quickly. Darius, was professional, personable, and knowledgeable. He also reassured me, thus setting my mind at ease. If needed I would Absolutely request this company and Darius specifically.

Tech was knowledgeable and attentive to detail. He took the dryer apart. Checked all the parts and serviced it. He was neat and returned the laundry room to order. The electricity went out so I couldn't test the dryer until he was gone but it is working well at this time.

My main drain line for the house had a blockage, not a full blockage just partially. Called Choice and a week or so went by when they sent a young man to look see what the problem was. I told him my problem and what he needed to do to fix the problem. He had no tools so I gave him my snake to run through my drain line and told him where the clean out plug should be on the line. The technician went into the crawl space, found the clean out and ran the snake though the line cleaning some built up grease and said there was also a small dead mouse in the line, which he cleared. Choice refused the claim. The second time I called was a problem with my well pump, it had a leak causing water damage in my crawl space.
The technician came out, replaced some piping and a pressure gauge. Choice denied this claim stating the system in a crawl space is underground and they do not cover underground systems. I stated all homes with well shallow well pumps are in their crawl space and it's not underground. It's a crawl space, your agent said they considered that underground. Then a case manager said they would pay the technician 200 but I would have to pay the rest. Then my microwave went up and the technician could not repair the system. The part needed was no longer made, Choice said they refused to pay for a new one but again a case manager said she would allow 200 when a receipt was sent in to her. The denied claims for all three is upsetting and takes time out of my schedule to argue the point when a case manager is reached, no I am not happy with the company and the services.

Do not Purchase a Choice Home Warranty, choose anyone else. They send out high pressure salesmen, cleverly disguised as Contractors, that quote you ridiculous prices for services that would make your claim have "better chances of approval", only to deny you for the most ridiculous reasons for claims. You'd be better off saving your money and paying for the repairs yourself, because after paying $100 service fees and the monthly insurance payment, you still end up paying for the repairs yourself.

My refrigerator passed out and they have a tech coming tonight. So impressed with their service. My last company had me wait three days for a tech to arrive. I read bad things from the Nextdoor app regarding techs from Sears and was very nervous when told they would be coming. The tech was polite, informed us what was wrong with the air-conditioning unit and fixed it. Our unit is working great now. He also saw something wrong in our attic and told us what we would need to do to correct since it was not covered by the home warranty insurance.

I was not called about making an appointment. I received a email giving me the date time. I have a window of 12:30 to 3pm, It is now 6pm. I have not been called about any updates. I have tried to call twice this afternoon, got no answer and Ieft a message both times. Still nothing.

After calling Choice within a few minutes I received an email with notice of Budget Air coming the next day..they were here and found the leak and fill refrigerant and were on their way!! Thank you for your service. I use to have another home warranty service and they never responded as quickly.

This rating is for the second repair tech only, not the first one who did not complete the job. The 2nd tech came in and knew exactly what was wrong. He competently went about his work, correcting and explaining the work not done in the first place.

I spoke with Luke about signing up new policy. He was unprofessional and deceitful. I said to NOT charge my Visa card and cancel my order until I make a decision. But he went ahead and charged my account. Please refund my account asap. This is unacceptable. I need confirmation of cancellation.

Aziz the technician came and took it apart, but it could not be repaired it was 14 years old. He literally walked me through each step with knowledge, patience and such respect. What a great man. Highly recommend his services. He filled and emptied sink with water 4 times to ensure no leaking and also ran the dishwasher to show me everything was perfect.

First trying to speak to someone in your business that does not have heavy accent is impossible. The technician that came was great on time found the issues. I asked if works on dishwashers and he said yes and if I could get claim assigned today while here he could check dishwasher. It took at least 15 minutes to get person then she hung up on me. I kept trying to get it assigned unfortunately since new claim number had to pay another $75.00. This dishwasher had previously been assigned claim number but never got looked at and you closed it out.
I’m not impressed with your service at this time and finding if love in rural area warranties may be not worth the money if cannot get reliable service people. Please note the tech who came for washer was great and would recommend him. I would not recommend Choice Home Warranty at this time. Changing my mind depends on your response to what tech sends to you and the length of time for you to let me know.

The technician gave a courtesy call one week in advance, the day before appointment and one hour prior to arrival. My scheduled window was between 8AM - 12PM. He arrived at 8 AM. I would highly recommend this technician. Lastly, not only did he quickly diagnose the problem and solve the issue, he was nice and cleaned up his area.

CHW Sent out a AC repairman to fix a Furnace boiler. The AC repairman said he could fix the boiler however because he was sent to fix a AC unit he could not get authorization to work on it. So he left and my Furnace still isn't working. After 2 more days CHW could not find anyone to work on my Furnace. So I opted to take the reimbursement plan. I'll see how that goes. The last time I called CHW for a electrical problem, they sent a carpenter that had no clue what to do. Presently CHW is 0 for 2. And I obviously have to give them a 0 on a 1 to 10 scale.

It took your company 3 days to find a repair firm to fix my oven. Once you found a company to repair my oven, it will take the contractor a week to make their first visit. If they don’t have the parts to repair on their first visit, I am betting that it will be at least 2 weeks to order the parts, which means that my oven will not be repaired a minute after my first request for service.

Choice sent Royal heating air. I was extremely impressed with the the quick response and also the immediate diagnosed problem with my unit. Technician was on time, polite, and informative explaining what the issue was and what needed to be done. I am still awaiting the outcome of possible solutions. Was told it might take two weeks for an update. It appears that since the refrigerator is over twenty years old, a part may no longer be available. I was told that if that is the case a possible recourse would be to replace the unit.

After signing up for the warranty online, I received an email from a representative that told me if I contacted him and signed up through him, he could provide me with discounts for the plan. If discounts can be offered, why aren't they offered no matter how you sign up. It is so disappointing as my husband and I are on a fixed income and every penny helps.

The actual technician was great. He arrived on time, friendly, put on shoe covers and was very professional. My issues is with Choice warranty coverage. This is the 4th time in two years that I had an issue with my dishwasher. Each time paying the $65 deductible, so that’s a total of $260 in deductibles. The technician came by yesterday stating that the dishwasher needed a new motherboard, so he would have to order the part, and come back later to install it.
After the technician left my home, I get an email from choice warranty stating that I would have to pay $106, when the technician comes back to install the motherboard. Apparently choice warranty didn’t cover 100% of the parts, and labor. So I have to pay the difference of $106. I personally think that’s ridiculous, and unfair. With the money that I have spent for the warranty coverage itself, and all the deductibles that I have paid just for my dishwasher issues alone. I could have purchased a brand new dishwasher with the money that I have spent so far. I am not a happy customer, and I’m telling you in advance that I will not be renewing my membership.

Serviceman did a great job. Friendly, courteous and came on time. My only complaint is with Choice Warranty. I was told the work wasn’t covered because it wasn’t normal wear and tear. How a clogged drain isn’t normal wear and tear I can’t explain. I don’t put things down the drain that could clog.

Response after claim filed was great. However, outcome was terrible. First the amount awarded for a refrigerator was waaay below cost to replace. Then you have to wait weeks to get a gift card to Lowe’s and up to 30 days for a check to be delivered if you want to purchase somewhere else. We are talking a refrigerator replacement.! A necessity for a family! To have to wait that long is crazy and not a good way to treat your customers. There should be a quicker solution for those items that need replaced immediately. This is a major issue for me with Choice.

My air conditioner stop running and wouldn't restart. I requested service via online website and I got a confirmation and a scheduled appointment within 2 days. Once the technician (Mike) arrived he found the trouble within half an hour, had the part ordered before leaving my home and returned within 2 days and installed the new part. Choice Home Warranty has been my first and only company that I've used being a first time homeowner, not a brand new home. I've just finished my first three year contract and I am definitely renewing my contract. I have used them numerous times during the three years. Didn’t get water pressure issue fixed. They have to come back cause he said I needed a new faucet & didn’t have one comparable to mine. So still waiting. Water pressure issue is worse since he was here & we can't use this faucet at all. Very inconvenient. The technician came to my house and worked on my dishwasher. His recommendation to Choice was that it was too costly to repair. Choice offered me a ridiculously low dollar amount to replace my unit. I went online and found the part that the technician said I needed and it was only $107 - for a $650 dishwasher I didn't feel that repair was prohibitive.

The repair went well and great company and repair man. Seemed to know how to troubleshoot problem and changed out the condenser. Only issue I wasn't happy with was it took three days for Choice to find a repair company to make an appointment. This has been incredibly frustrating. I have been trying for over 2 months to get my washer fixed. I have had to now pay two technicians a $75 fee. I have gotten the runaround. I have got lied to. I have gotten passed around and this has been the absolute worst company I've ever dealt with. Getting someone to talk to me that can actually help me has been next to impossible. I wish someone from management would call me and be able to deal with this situation. It has been beyond frustrating and I will absolutely never recommend you guys or sign up with you guys ever again.. Would give you a zero if I could but I have to pick at least one.

Choice can be hit or miss, but they've brought in good technicians for my various systems. My AC was leaking, and the company they brought in was great. My fridge repair was horrible, as they contracted with Sears, and that left me without the use of it for nearly a month. Sears came to fix my washer as it was knocking around, and that was pretty good. My ceiling fan and electrical socket repair initially left a lot to be desired. The first repairman fixed one out of two fans but never came back to fix the other fan or an electrical socket. He gave me the runaround after asking me if he could submit the work order since it takes so long for Choice to pay them. I had to pay another service fee to get someone else to fix it. He was slightly rude but fixed both very quickly.
I had four sockets go out in my kitchen, and those technicians were great, but found the issue was caused by another socket behind my stove, and now I have to get my stove fixed, which is not covered by warranty. My garage door opener repair was pretty good. The technician was great, and the value for the product received for repairs and replacements is worth what it costs for this warranty. They haven't rejected much, but some approval times have been long, while others have been okay.

Needed my water heater replaced. They had the inspector at my house the next morning. He looked at it and determined it needed replacement. Choice Home Warranty replaced the air conditioner at my townhouse. It was on the roof, and there were some things I had to pay for. I didn't realize that they don't do everything. There were also few days that there was no air, so I had to go out and buy a small air conditioner for the tenants to keep them cool. They had a small, young child. But Choice helps a lot because that was quite a large amount. I've used it more for my townhouse than I've used it for my home. Sometimes they would say they couldn't replace something and they'd give this much money but usually, it isn't enough to buy whatever it is that you need. It's not always what you think it's gonna be. Sometimes they send a good technician but sometimes it's not a good technician. But I'm more satisfied than dissatisfied.

We're not extending Choice Home Warranty. Having had it for seven and a half years, the awful experience foreshadows the good experience. Some of their policies are terrible. They are unrealistic. We've had to deal with a lot of aggravation on a lot of important matters. Some of the warranty calls were easy fixes. They were well done in a decent amount of time. We had the springs replaced in the garage door and Choice sent a very reliable company.
But the ones that were bad were terrible. An example would be last summer on a very hot July day. Both our air conditioner and our refrigerator went out. Choice responded to the call immediately but the problem is the way they receive vendors. They take the first vendor that responds. They gave me a vendor for the air conditioning that did not speak English. The air conditioning is one of the most expensive components in our home. I needed a new air conditioner and we had to put up a couple thousand dollars. I understand that there are certain parts that they cover and certain parts that they don't. But I said, "I'm not using this vendor. I don't understand him and I don't know him or trust him. I'm not doing it." They said, "That's the only vendor that we will send out to you. He answered the call and he's the one." They wouldn't budge.
On the advice of a friend, we called a local air conditioning person. For a couple hundred dollars, he said, "You need freon. You don't need a new air conditioner." I believed him and we went along with it. A month later, the air conditioner went out again so I made another claim with Choice. This time, they sent me a reasonable person and we were able to work with him.
The bad part about Choice is when an appliance goes out and needs to be replaced, they will only replace the wholesale value of the appliance. We have a $2,500 refrigerator that is now not working. They wanted to give me $1,200 in Lowe's gift cards and it's gonna take three to four weeks to get those Lowe's gift cards. If it's winter, I don't have a problem with that. But it wasn't. It was July and it was 90 degrees. Choice wouldn't budge on it. My husband and I went to Lowe's thinking we'd look at the refrigerators at Lowe's and put out the money on a charge account then when I'd get the gift cards, I'd pay it off with them. But no. Lowe's only takes the gift cards at the time of purchase.
I was talking to Choice telling them I couldn't go for three weeks without a refrigerator in my home. They said, "If you want cash, we'll give you $900. We'll send you a check and you can go out and buy your own refrigerator." I was between a rock and a hard place. I needed a refrigerator, couldn't wait three to four weeks for the gift cards from Lowe's and didn't wanna deal with Lowe's anyway. We took the $900 and we put up the difference for our new refrigerator. When my $600 dishwasher went out, first, they told me $175. Where are you gonna find a dishwasher for $175? I had to fight with them, and they finally agreed to give me $350.
They have been notifying me to tell me that my warranty expires in October, but I tell them I'm not interested anymore. In the years that we've had them, we had two contracts that were three and a half years each. I paid it upfront in full each time. I got my money's worth out of it but it's nothing that I would buy into again.

Why does equipment always fail on a weekend. Good thing Choice is always available to place a service request. They immediately contacted a tech and scheduled an appointment. Although I had to wait a couple days for service tech was here on-time, diagnosed the problem, repaired and had me back up and running within half an hour. Problem was not resolved as when I opened the faucet there is still a drop of water falling into the bucket slow drip but still there. So it looks like something needs to be tightened or something needs replaced or redone to stop water from dripping and ruin the wood bottles of drawer and floor

I was told they don’t pay retail for replacement of the washer and now can’t even get an amount to replace it. Still have not had the refrigerator repaired. I feel like I was ripped off. I had a refrigerator that the air handler wouldn’t work. I called Choice Home Warranty. They got a guy right out from Sears. He diagnosed it and sent in the claim. Pictures and everything. Everything was okay. It was approved. It took eight weeks to get the part. I understand sometimes that happens. They finally got the part after I called and called. I never got another response as to, “When are we gonna bring it out? When are we gonna actually do this?” Because the guy who put it in told me they would give me 24 hours because I had to defrost the freezer and refrigerator, so to do that, they need the refrigerator shut down for 24 hours. That never happened. I never got a call.
This all started in June. I called. Finally got an appointment. Late August was when the appointment was. That week, my wife and I both came down with COVID. I called in three days before and said, “Just to be respectful here. I don't think the service guy wants to come into a house that's had COVID.” Sears agreed. They said, “We'll take care of it and reschedule.” They canceled that appointment and never rescheduled. I called Sears four times. I got no response. I finally called Choice and they would get back to me. That was three weeks ago.
I called two weeks ago. Same thing. “We're gonna get back to you.” I called yesterday, and I finally got an email and an answer from Sears. “We're gonna do it on September, a week from tomorrow.” So, we have a date again. But here's the deal. It's now middle of September. It has been taking too long. Same thing with the microwave. It kept on breaking, and finally, they said it was a something internally. I asked them, “Can we just get a new one?” They finally purchased a new one for us, a different model, and it hasn't broken down since. That was the positive one.
The other negative was my furnace went out a day before Christmas Eve. It was 30 below. I called in, and there was no answer at the 855 number. It was like an emergency. My pipes would freeze, so I started to make my own phone calls, got a service tech out, and he said, “We can get one that fits your home.” I said, “I'd like to go through Choice.” He said, “You need to get something going now or your pipes are gonna freeze.” I called Choice the next day, and they said, “Sorry, we can't honor that decision. You're supposed to call us.” I said, “I called you guys and there was no answer.” I called them the next day as well. I called them first and they answered it. I got no response as far as when a technician would be there. So, the guy I called up came out and said, “This could kill you. It's a carbon monoxide issue. You can keep it running, but you and your pets are gonna have to leave the house. But leave it running.”
We left and went to my son-in-law’s house. Since I just said, “This guy's gonna put it in,” they came out, took pictures, and Choice wouldn't stand by it,. They gave me $60. I'm not happy with this refrigerator and the furnace. I spend $79 a month and I have to pay $85 every time I get a service call. But I shouldn't have to wait three weeks.
Now I have a garbage disposal that went out. Choice got somebody right on that, but now I got an email that states, “Can you get your own people and have them take pictures, and get on our website, and we'll reimburse you through that?”. So, I don't know what's going on. And it says, “If you don't find anybody before we do, then the offer is invalid.” They would not let me do my own. I wouldn't have called them if I would do my own. That's why I paid for the service. I've been with Choice for four years so I spent a lot of money on them and I'm sure they're way ahead on the deal. But they could be quicker and call instead of those emails.

I like that Choice picks up their phone. I let them know what needs to be repaired, and then they assign it to a repair company for that particular thing, and then they schedule the date and time, and then that's when it's done. So, it's no problem. When I had a claim for the dishwasher, Choice assigned it to a repair company and then they said that they would be coming this particular date and time. They also gave me a service fee that they let me know upfront. The service fee is small and it's a standard service fee they charge on everything. It's a reasonable fee. The contractor stopped the leak. With other companies, it would take a lot of days trying to schedule the service because you keep calling and can't get through. Whereas with Choice, you can make one phone call.

Paid my $75 and he left and I called in another claim for assistance with the electrical issue and am waiting for appointment to have the electric issue addressed. The Ice maker Unit stopped working and Choice was able to dispatch a team to resolve the issue. The technicians (Lois and Louis) arrived and were very professional. They were able to troubleshoot the problem and replace the part within 24 hours. I hope if I ever have anymore appliances they are not working, that they will send people like Louis and Lois to take care of the issue.

Read the small print, if your appliances are old and cannot be fixed they offer a buyout that does not begin to cover a new appliance. They offered me $246.00 to replace my dishwasher. Stated that if that would be their cost, not retail. I asked how to get at their cost and was told it’s not possible. BIG WASTE OF MONEY!!!! The Case Manager was also not helpful and kinda rude.

The young man who completed the repair was personable and extremely competent. First contacted Choice on Thursday, with repair completion on Tuesday. I find this timeline acceptable. Parts were available on the truck. Most other services would have had to order. Some issues dealing directly with the service provider i.e. Mailbox full, miscommunication between them, myself and repairman re: times.

I called "Choice" to request service on our dishwasher. The same day the company selected to do our repair called and scheduled the service. Our technician arrived on time (always a good sign) I was very pleased. He was fast, and knew what he was doing. After making the repair he tested the system to make sure all was well. He then cleaned up, even cleaning surfaces that were not his obligation.

I have had good and bad experiences with CHW. They will band-aid any problem multiple times until it gets to a point where something just needs replaced. When it gets replaced, it will go the cheapest route or equipment. The service fee is cheap which is great, but you also get what you pay for.

After two attempts with the technician that you assigned {a no show} I requested a local tech that was here before when my dryer belt had to be replaced. When he arrived he was courteous, went right in to the washer and started testing for problem. It needed to be replaced. Choice is sending EGifts cards from Lowe's for new washer. Maytag cooktop damaged by scorching on the glass of 2 burners in front. Tech from Sears responded. Unable to source part to replace damaged glass. Waiting for an egift card from Lowe's to search out replacement glass oven stovetop. Was hoping for a replacement. Was told by tech unit too old. Part not available from Maytag.

Had to wait on parts for over a month. However, when the technician arrived, he was very professional and got it working. It should have been fixed a lot sooner but there was some confusion as to the part for the dishwasher, they claimed it was supposed to have been shipped to my house when it was not, so the original technician had to reorder it again.

I called because my attic fan stopped working in the middle of summer. The electrician who came was courteous and knowledgeable. CHW approved the replacement and the new attic fan was properly installed. It was a fast and easy process. I liked how they keep you updated on the status of your claim.

My technician was great! He came and inspected my refrigerator and everything thoroughly and he walked me through the next steps. He called the company to make sure the parts were accurate and provided me the best information. He was fast and efficient in diagnosing the problem. I had Choice send out a technician 5 times to fix different things with my refrigerator that was only 6 years old. So apparently it is a lemon. They approved another fix to take place and notified the technician who was here at the time. After the technician left I received an email stating that I would have to pay $306.00 for things not covered. I said I didn’t want to put any more money into this refrigerator knowing that something else would go. They declined my request to do a buy out instead of them putting more money into it and myself. I have had this plan with Choice for over 13 years and they have denied so many things through the years. I will not renew my contract with them. I’m extremely disappointed with this company and will not recommend them to anyone.

I have signed online and did my claim again with our Garage Door Opener again, which was done last two months ago by the assigned repairs company. Then I have called in the same day and we were right away assigned with the A+ Garage Door LLC the same day. This is of what we need as customers, direct responses and very fast assignment of the Company to repair, especially if it can affects people's health in the house or owners.

Please DO NOT do business with this company. They will give a great sales pitch, take your money and then when you have a claim it is never resolved. They will run you in circles when you try to reach them. You are on an endless phone circuit. I lost a days work waiting on a service technician that never came after sitting a week without AC waiting on them to even find a technician. Nobody wants to work with these people because they make it difficult to just do their job. They are required to jump through hoops. Meanwhile you end up getting charged for two service calls b/c they have to get all repairs approved first. Please, Please just save money for repairs. Home Warranties are a shame, especially CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!

Why am I having Choice Home Warranty insurance if you guys change me $75 initial payment and then not to approve the repair process to have it fixed.i will not renew my contract because it is not worth it. Have paid into your warranty program going on 3 years. You have denied my claims on my dishwasher which you settled with a Lowe's gift card for 246.00. Second denial was on home air conditioner stating that I did not keep up the maintenance on it which I do every year with my local A/C repairman. It seems that if it goes over a certain amount in dollars repairs are refused. A reply would be appreciated.

I am very dissatisfied that CHOICE forces me to use a Lowe's egift card to replace microwave. I HAVE to buy from Lowe's, AND I am still waiting for the card. I called last week and was told it would be re sent after the agent and I checked trash, old and new mail and spam folders. No luck. I will not be able to recommend CHOICE anymore. This new system is terrible. So glad I am not waiting on a major appliance.

I’ve never had an issue; even when technicians wanted to charge me up front, Choice stood behind their policy and found another technician for me to work with. I'm not sure I spelled Shawn's name correctly; I don't have my receipt with me. However, I must say that Shawn was great. He is the plumber every household should have when need be. I haven't used Choice Home Warranty in a while, but I needed a plumber for a few jobs around my condo and within about an hour or so my jobs were completed. Shawn was on time, coming from either Fox Lake, office, or Huntley, where he lives, and that's saying a lot. He was courteous, knew his job and cleaned up well. We had two plumbing issues. The first one were leaky faucets in the laundry room. Calling and making the appointment was easy and the plumber came assess the situation correctly and replaced the faucets. The second plumbing issue was a clogged kitchen sink. Again the appointment process was easy, the plumber arrived as scheduled assess the situation correctly and repaired the clog sink.. My wife and I are very pleased with the way that choice handles the claims and would highly recommend them..

Air would stop cooling from time to time. After resting for up to 2 hrs it would start cooling again, but air volume would be lower. Tech has some ideas and is checking. We were told there was abnormal gunk in the motor.... that we didn't wash our dishes good enough before putting them in the dishwasher! REally? After all these years, we should have a perfectly clean dishwasher motor? WE just had to buy a new dishwasher and we will be happy when our 5? year contract is up with you guys. EVERY DAY for weeks now, you send me an email to try to get me to join up. You do not even recognize that we have been members for 4+ years.... That is very poor treatment to people who paid for so many years of service! AND we have asked you over 20 times to quit sending your advertisements every day... We already have a contract and you are stealing our time when we have to erase your advertisements every day!
Your customer service is so poor... We will definitely not renew with you again. And when family and friends ask us about how your service was... we will tell them we paid a lot for only a few repairs over 4 +years and now when our dishwasher breaks down...you refuse to fix or replace it. I opened a claim 2.5 months ago. They send the worst company out who doesn’t know how to repair refrigerators. Took 4 -5 weeks to get a control panel. That didn’t fix it. It’s now been another 5 weeks waiting on another part calling both HW and vendor. No response. CHW says they can’t assign another company. Worst company. They usually find loopholes in their contracts to not fix items and customer service is pointless with this company.

I have used Choice for several years. If it is an easy fix and the repair guy can fix it they are great. I had my AC system go out and they said I needed a new system last year. They put the wrong system in. It flooded my house and Choice wouldn't do anything about it to make it right. They won't return calls and when they don't do anything for 30 days they close the claim and treat you like dirt. When I call the people are usually overseas and act like you are not allowed to talk to a supervisor. My last dealing with them was my microwave quit working. They didn't want to fix it so they charged me the 60.00 deductibles and offered me a 191.00 in a gift card to Lowe's. They said I should receive it within 30 days. This leaves me out hundreds of dollars again to fix my issue.
The only reason I left them a star is because they dot allow for less than that. However they will call you on a daily basis to get you to renew your policy even when you ask them not to. So they are definitely in business for themselves. They don't even have one person that will come to your place to see the destruction their contractors do.

Knew the problem immediately, gave me an explanation and fixed it. My insinkerator was not functioning properly. The blades were stuck in the wrong position. We had a technician come out 2 times within 3 months and had to pay $65 for each visit as repairs are only covered for 30 days. Our microwave is dead again within 2 weeks of last repair (Sept. 4th). It was the fuse to be replaced each time. The unit has corrosion on Magnetron which is most likely cause of fuse blowing out. The last Tech that came out explained that it would probably go out again but had to have approval to replace microwave. I asked for it to be replaced on the first Tech visit as he mentioned the corrosion as well.

Our ac went out on last Sunday. I put in a claim. Monday I received notification that a tech would be out Thursday. I called tech and he was able to come out Monday. Said needs replaced. I called and emailed Choice daily. They finally approved repairs on Friday. So a week later still no Ac. And have not heard when it will be fixed. Plus they are saying there are additional costs. But haven't said what they will be. I have been the calling and trying to get something done. Choice just says be patient. Not Happy.

Technician service response time is usually really good! My only issue was that when my washing machine needed to be replaced I received a gift card for Lowe’s to replace it and it only covered half the amount of the new washer price and did not cover installation. But other than that time, I’ve had good experiences with CHOICE.

Choice Home Warranty is horrible. Every contractor I spoke to refuses to do any work through them due to non-payment or requiring a second opinion which is another service call charged to the homeowner. I reside in the Cushing area and have a heating and air conditioner 50,000 BTUs. We purchased our house in 2016 and started having issues with the unit in 2017 thru 2022 when it finally quit altogether.
We had Choice Home Warranty for our major repair needs only instead of fixing the unit we were told that we didn’t do proper maintenance on it, even though it was the condenser coil that went out, and I had 15 different HEATING AND AIR contractors come to my house at $40 a service call just for them to say they were not going to fix the unit and I had to pay $8500’s for a brand new unit. This is an absolutely horrible company to do business with in the state of Oklahoma, but if you live in Arizona, they are absolutely amazing. My parents use Choice Home Warranty there and have no problem getting anything repaired.

I called home warranty service and went thru their menu, made the appointment and I didn't have to talk to anyone. All automated menu driven. Easy as 1, 2, 3. Service showed up and did the repair. Three years ago, our air-conditioning broke down in the middle of the summer and it was hot out. Service came out and did a little troubleshooting and found the problem. They replaced the whole condenser, compressor and motor. We had to pay the deductible is all. They are worth the added expense for preventable maintenance costs. With the rising cost of nearly everything, a whole house contract shouldn't even be a question.

Final service was good however did not do a water hardness test, scheduled for 1100-3pm service then at 2:30 received email time changed to 6-8pm…kept me from doing other things I wanted to do. Toni did a good job, was honest and gave good advice. Overall determined my system is bad and needs to be replaced - now waiting to see if CHW will replace system per contract.

Same day appt and the tech was early and very responsive! Identified the issue and repaired it. Great work. One concern I learned about your service is generally the tech comes out, identifies the issue, then has to get approval to do the repair which then requires another appointment. Vs taking care of the issue in one appt. In our case it was a minor repair and they approved the fix immediately. Our prior warranty company always identified and repaired in one appt!

They called around looking for the part and finally found one in Maryland. The company who serviced our garage door was excellent - Choice Warranty was Awful - they refused to cover anything but the door- no cable or railings, etc. only the door - the serviceman - and owner of this company was so nice - he knew this door had to be repaired and only charged us a fraction of what any other company would charge for the broken parts - I give this company a rating of 10 plus for his kind heart and professional workmanship - I give Choice Warranty a (-1) for their awful attitude and trickery of words in their contract - they advertise garage door repair - and only cover the door and no components running and making the door run and hold up the door - I think this (Choice Home Warranty- Is Awful)—the company that came out is Excellent - I would hire this company immediately - without Choice Warranty involved-

The service took too long to be deployed. I submitted the claim on Monday and the earliest the technician could come was Thursday. They couldn’t fix the unit and now have to order a part, which will take more time. I won’t be with a dryer for more than week and with 3 kids in the house it becomes very difficult. I still haven’t heard from the technician around timing either so the lack of communication is a bit frustrating.

If I could give zero stars I would. Run to the other direction. This company is scamming people. My dishwasher broke, denied the claim. My AC not blowing cold air and they denied it. Anything that needs real, true work done they do not cover it. Run and don’t look back. Do not use this company. Had work from one of their fly by night repair men few years ago on my air conditioner, and Started having trouble with again. Called 2-10 Home Warranty and they sent a licensed man out and found out the coil is not the right one. I have called this Home Choice 4 times and no call back. Two visits. First technician was knowledgeable and helpful but informed us that their company could not work on the type of system that I have. System was working again when he left this visit, which is a plus. Second technician was equally knowledgeable and kind. He spent time cleaning and inspecting the board (computer side of the thermostat). He was able to get the unit to seat in better which most likely was the reason for the intermittent errors that I have been noticing. Good to have my vent system working again.

Less than 48 hours from filing the claim to repairs completed even though not an emergency. Pipe under sink repaired and new faucet installed. Had to pay $165 extra because of modifications that were not covered but that happens with original stuff from the 80s. I am happy with the repairs and quality of work.

Technician came and diagnosed the problem to be a computer board malfunction, not sending power to compressor. I believe recommending a replacement refrigerator was the right call. Unfortunately now I do not have a working refrigerator, until I get the e-card from Choice to buy a new one. I was told this could take up to 30 days.

Technician unable to complete task. Had to order new faucet, since Choice did not cover the current one we have. Choice wanted to replace with a cheap builder’s grade faucet. I had a similar problem with another sink in the master bath. Same scenario, had to order a replacement faucet.

My dishwasher quit working 7/26/24. I promptly contacted Choice Home Warranty for their service. After a week or so I was contacted by LaShanta (case manager) and she said that they couldn’t find a like dishwasher to replace my existing one. I explained that I would be happy to accept whatever they offer. She said that the best she could do was send me a check and I would have to purchase the dishwasher I wanted. Well, it’s 9/13/24 and still no check and no communication.
After pressing LaShanta she told me she would send me a check for $246.!! After a lot of research I couldn’t find anything that would fit her amount!! Cheapest I could find was $333 without installation and haul away! I’ve had Choice Home Warranty since 2018!! I’m very disappointed and am waiting to settle this claim and move on to another company that is more reliable and professional. LaShanta as a representative of Choice has shown me where the company is going and that’s not what I want to protect my home.

Our Home whole house AC unit quit working. The outside condenser fan would not turn. The repair vendor arrived when promised and notified us when he was en route. The technician Scott readily identified this error and replaced the motor and the unit was back on operation within a few minutes. We are quite pleased with this repair.

We put in a claim on Monday (Sep. 9th) and by Thursday (Sep. 12th), the waste disposal was replaced by plumber (Professional Electrical Company), whose rep was friendly, courteous and professional, and on time. Replaced disposal (in our opinion) is not of the best quality, but it works. Very impressed by the fast turn-around for the claim and would definitely recommend others.

The faucet on my Kitchen Sink failed. It took several days for CHW to find a tech to come to me to replace the faucet. Eddie came a long way to accomplish the work. Excellent job. Mr ** is an excellent repair tech. He came a long way to get a job done. He did it with expert technique. I will call him again when I need Appliance Repair.

Have always had good experience with Choice. Except this time. Very Rude man that hung up on me because I was asking for a specific repairman. I had called in and asked for a specific repairman and even though I had spoke with someone earlier and told them who I wanted to use. He refuse to change it even though I told him I was doing what I was told to do to get the repair company I wanted. Then after he hung up on me I called back and the young lady was very helpful and made sure I got who I had requested.

Very good response, the agent was very respectful, ease of contact, promised of having a quick service, and my request for the service processed promptly, at this stage I am sure to recommend Choice Home Warranty to friend. The important thing is the service of the technician assigned and the quality of work.

I was very happy with the organization from the 1st call to schedule and I got next day service. The Tech was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and got the job done in a timely manner. It was my 1st time using Choice Home Warranty and I feel as though I may a good decision in choosing them.

The technician (Trey) from Converse Appliance Repair was very professional, obviously very experienced, personable, communicative, and a nice person. Parts needed to be ordered and before the end of the day, I received a follow-up call regarding when the parts will be available for them to visit and complete the repair.

I had 2 service techs, and both were very good. Although my dishwasher requires another service call to replace a part, the plumbing issue was quickly resolved. However, I'm not happy about having to pay another $75 for another service call for the dishwasher. I think the rate should be reduced for additional service calls for the same issue.
