Had been waiting a month for repairs, the first plumber never came or called. The plumber that came came on a Sunday morning. Need to be able to get a repairman closer to my home or in my city. Should be able to communicate with repairman and not have to wait on an 8 hour window.

Vendor was on time and courteous. However, after 24 hours since the repair, freezer still not freezing. Vendor requested that I place a bottle of water in freezer to monitor to NO AVAIL. Not sure where to go from here. Not sure what his recommendation would be for a satisfactory repair.

The group you sent out was absolutely wonderful. They were from Elite Heating & Cooling and they did an absolute perfect professional job. I would definitely recommend Choice Warranty and Elite Heating & Cooling to my friends and family. I was very pleased with the two gentlemen that came out and they were very polite to my wife and got the job done quickly. We now have heat again.

We are an elderly couple. My wife and I are in our eighties. You said you would replace our washing machine rather than fix it. I accepted your offer. Then you tell me it would take 30 days to receive the email to go to Lowes. You have always be prompt and had someone here on the day after I called. It was fixed on the next day. It is hard for us to carry heavy washed clothes home to dry them. Unless we spend more money to dry them. You can not even give me a reason for it to take 30 days to send an email. I don't think that is acceptable. I hate to leave but I may have to check other companies to see if this is the way they do business. For 18 years you have taken my payments each month. I think you should perhaps change your policy it makes no sense. Mr.

My central AC unit stopped cooling. I filed my first claim to CHW. The repair guy explained the compressor had to be changed because the oil in it had contaminated parts of the rest of the system. Choice denied the claim stating that the unit had been “contaminated” and that was not covered. I called the repair guy who was surprised. Sent me a copy of his report showing he clearly explained that the “contamination“ was caused by a leak of the oil that should only be present inside the compressor, and was present in other components of the machine causing it to not be able to cool the air. If this is not a maneuver from CHW to avoid paying what is covered in my contract, what is?? Can't wait for the contract to expire! Do not use this “home warranty”!!

Updated on 10/17/2024: I was very pleased with the service and technician compared to my previous provider. The technician ordered the part for me and came back the next day and put it in. He informed me the whole time when he would be back and was very professional. Very satisfied. I am very glad I switched providers. The person on the phone kept me posted with emails the whole time.
Original Review: Don't really know yet. Called yesterday about my water heater not working. The pilot lite keeps going off and won't stay on. I didn't like that I could not talk to some one directly and don't know when anyone is coming to fix it. I know it's the weekend but somebody there should let me know when someone is coming to look at it. I have no hot water. I would appreciate someone calling me to let me know. Other than that I have no complaints.

Updated on 10/20/2024: My refrigerator broke 2 weeks ago. Choice sent a technician who said that it was better to replace the unit. They did not like that so I had to wait 3 more days for another technician to come to confirm what the first one said. However, it took them 3 days to send in the report. Choice Home Warranty gave money to another unit but not enough to replace the current model. However, the resolution managers have told me it is "a process" and can take 15-30 days before the Lowes gift card is released, a check can take 30 days. Since they are not an "emergency company", I guess it is acceptable to wait 6 weeks to get compensated for a service that is paid for every month. The customer service is very poor. The gatekeepers refused to allow me to speak to a case manager which I have requested many times. 2 weeks and still no idea when I will get a replacement. This should not be allowed. Wish I could give 1/4 star.
Original Review: I placed a claim on 10/0624 for a broken refrigerator. A technician came out and made a recommendation that the company did not like so a second opinion was requested. All of my food has spoiled. It has been a week without a fridge. I have paid for a service that has not served me. Your company deserves 1/2 a star and no one should use you. I was told that you are not an emergency company but it has been a week that I have gone without a service that I pay for and there is no end in sight.

My complaint is that I didn’t get a call from the company that was chosen to work on my garbage disposal. I was expecting to get an initial call for the setup. I can say that I was impressed with the tech who did the work. He was prepared with all supplies and had a pleasant disposition.

I had a non-emergency electrical issue and reported the problem on the website. It was easy and service was scheduled within 5 days. Simply Electric of Hagerstown resolved the issue in quick time and were very knowledgeable and professional. I was given the option to choose my own electrician but used the assigned company and was very pleased.

Eddie's Mechanical (Juan) was very responsive and accommodated our schedule. He made an extra effort to replace our filter and resolve the problem on the first call. We were able to get the unit up and running again in a few hours and resolve the condensation issue that was causing the leaking.

He seemed knowledgeable however, he didn't seem interested in finding out why the freon was practically non-existent like a small leak in the coil. He said to call in again and start another ticket if the issue continues. Company overbooked. My appointment was scheduled between 11-3 and his arrival was at 7.

Communications between myself, Sears, repair, and choice home warranty were nonexistent. I always had to check in to see what’s going on. No one ever got back to me. I always had to chase Sears kept contacting me to find out updates. When I contacted choice warranty, they had not had any contact with the repair people since they sent them out. In other situations, people tend to give updates via text and be in contact with everyone in the loop. I think there needs to be a little more synergy Between the clients, third-party repairs, and choice home warranty. It’s been over a month and I still have no refrigerator.

Response from CHW was quick and technician came within two days to repair the leak. Very good work by technician. The one thing I did not like is technician supposed to cal me before going to the house for repair. Technician had to wait for payment because I was not informed. Mahendra

When I first signed up for this service as it was explained. I specifically made sure that I would be covered on things when the Manufacturer warranty expired and the cost of having the work done. Nothing was ever mentioned that if Part of the Manufacturer warranty (coverage for parts only) Would cause the service of Choice Home Warranty to not cover anything!!!! As it stands now this coverage is#1 a Joke #2 Bogus #3 one of the most insidious examples of Elder Abuse and Theft. Rest Assured This will be reported and I will be cancelling your services once the report has been completed.

I had a leak under my sink. I opened a case online. In a matter of days, Choice contacted Same Day Plumbing Services and I got an appointment for the same week. Same Day confirmed the appointment and right on time Frank showed up. He found the problem, fixed the problem, and cleaned up more than I expected. He answered all questions with good humor. He told me I should get a new garbage disposal which I will plan for in the not too distant future. Altogether an excellent experience. Thank you.

Your company is the best. We have had about 5 claims since we have had your home warranty and 4 times they were settled easily and quickly. The 5th time was not really on your company as much as the tech who kept canceling. So I do give Choice a 4.9 (out of 5). Thank you.

The HVAC company that Choice Home Warranty sent out stated in an email that there is a leak in the evaporator coil (which is clearly covered by the warranty). However Choice refused to pay or provide any written notice explaining why they are rejecting the HVAC report. I followed the prescribed appeals process and have not heard a response since that formal appeal at the end of Aug 2024. VERY DISAPPOINTING...DO NOT BUY A WARRANTY FROM Choice. Policy # **.

My dryer need to be fixed as it would not heat to dry the clothes. The ARS repairman came on Thursday. He had called me 2 times and apologizing that he was going to be late. I said don't worry I am here and will wait with no problem. When he came he checked the dryer and said he hoped it wasn't the heating element as he used the only one he had left this morning. Sure enough that was the part I needed. He apologized again as he had to order the part. Then he asked if Sunday was okay to come back and I said that would be fine. He was very courteous and friendly a Southern gentleman. He kept thanking me for being understanding. I understand these things can happen to anyone of at some point in our lives.

Once the technician arrived, he isolated the problem, and even had the electronic part in his truck. This has been my repeated experience! The workers know their stuff, but Choice doesn't get such praise. I had to wait, in the middle of Pensacola summer over a week for the technician's scheduled appointment. I could have called the same company and received prompt attention. Makes me wonder about my commitment to Choice.

I was very satisfy with the prompt respond to my claim. I waited only one day. The technician was very knowledgeable, Ben. I received text message that is better to replace the machine and I will get a gift certificate of $340.00 to help me getting a new machine. GIFT Certificate that only can use at Lowe’s Home Improvement store. That is not my ideal store. But I accepted the offer. Now I am waiting, I have a big family. I need a washer machine and I call and the answer was that I need to wait 30 day for the gift certificate. That is a big problem for me. I do not know why takes to long for this service. I am not happy at this point.

I was told my claim was denied because the part that failed was under manufacturer's warranty and that isn’t true, at all. To be clear, the technician that came to my home was awesome and never said this part was covered by the manufacturer warranty, In fact, he explained while he was here that the manufacturer’s warranty had expired 3 years ago. Which made me feel great about my decision to purchase my Choice Home Warranty….but it’s just another insurance company that wants to collect monthly and then deny claims. I really thought Choice was different than the rest, but I guess I was wrong.

The repairman was very nice and very knowledgeable. He explained what he was doing and did it well. He kept us informed as he worked and he seemed to enjoy his job. The appointment was handled quickly. The service company called us to make sure we received the email. The repairman called to let us know what time he was arriving.

I had a close friend recommend I get Choice Home Warranty when I told her we bought a home with older appliances. She had never been disappointed. About a month or so later my refrigerator died! I must say how pleased I am with the response and claim outcome. Technician sent was very friendly and knowledgeable. When it was determined it couldn’t be fixed as parts no longer available I was very quickly awarded above and beyond what I expected to replace the refrigerator. All calls answered quickly and efficiently. The final part of the review will be when I get my reimbursement check in the mail hopefully before the 30 day deadline. Zero complaints so far!!

I called in to your company with a claim on an electrical potential dangerous situation at the house that I have coverage on. It was Monday, September 30th, 2024. I thought somebody would get back to me the next day possibly, or at the very least an E-mail update on the claim. A few days went by and no update. Finally I called in to inquire, perhaps 4-5 days later. The foreign sounding man said I need to just wait. A few more days went by. I called in again to inquire on the progress. I was told that the claim is in process and to wait. The electrical problem was a potential hazard to the house. I decided to just get my own electrician. After my electrician diagnosed the problem, a day later I finally get a response from Choice that they found an electrician and he was scheduled for October 18th. I cancelled it. Too slow.

My upstairs air went out, Choice had a Heating and Air person come out to my home and fix the problem in 24 hours. I will always use Choice Home Warranty. My A/C hasn't worked since 9/14/24!! Issue is still not resolved. Absolutely wasted 3 weeks with first service (Sears). Now still waiting on repairs with second service (waiting on authorization I suppose). I have been given the run around by Sears and Choice Home Warranty. Ridiculous!!

Claim was rejected because there was no access to sewer line so toilet had to be removed. Even after my contractor and I made it clear that I would pay for the toilet removal (I do not believe I should pay but I understand the reason) the whole rejected because of not normal wear and tear. Since when is a closed drain not normal.

Shane from SJ Plumbing was excellent. He came on time and completed the job and I would absolutely hire him again. In fact, I have to do another job in the house. I've had this company since 2022. A few months after joining I put a claim in because my garbage disposal stopped working. They actually accepted the claim and paid for a new one..probably under $100. In 2023 I put in a claim because when I used my dishwasher it was causing the pipes to leak, this was a 2 part claim because the pipe cracked and the dishwasher broke at the same time. Both claims were denied. In October 2024 same problem again pipe under kitchen sink leaking because of a broken faucet. I also had a cracked pipe in my laundry room. They denied both claims. Since I've had them they put out less than $100 for a garbage disposal and I've paid $1650.00 in monthy payments. How could this possibly be fair?

I needed to find my own repairman which I did. He filled out the form on the phone. Now I am discovering that you won't pay me the $50 which is the difference between what I paid ($135) and the $85 service fee I usually pay. The man on the phone did not explain it to me. I couldn't understand. It sounds like a wonderful scam to me!! James ** is a wonderful repairman and I would recommend him highly.

It is really unusual nowadays to have anyone providing you a service to just explain what may have caused the problem without a lot of fear mongering to have you buy something else.

This was a fast, no haggle, no hassle, very understanding, quick, painless and stress free process to attain coverage. Now I have just started this journey and haven't filed any claims yet and hopefully won't have to any time soon but it's nice to know I have coverage. The plumbing contractor called the same day I filed a claim and said they could do the job the very next morning. Technician arrived on time, was very professional, and a very good plumbing professional. Disposal was replaced with a high quality brand and I was extremely happy! Highly recommend!

Tech came out, diagnosed issue and communicated in a timely fashion. Choice Home Warranty is replacing our washer. We are being mailed a Lowe's gift card in 3 to 4 weeks. I understand this is how they do it but 3 to 4 weeks with little a washer? Why not be able to print a voucher from email.

All case managers are not fully trained or have no clue about their job. They deny or compensate without having the full knowledge of the subject. Thank God at least you can them directly now. Otherwise in the past you have to schedule a telephone call for a week and if you miss it due to so many reasons, you will have to schedule another and wait for another 2 more weeks. That is a good step Choice has taken.

This was a much better experience with Choice, compared to the last problem with our heat pump. The service provider kept in touch until he was able to come to our home. He was efficient and seems to be very honest. We hope to use him again. In the past, Choice has sent incompetent providers, one of which took our money, promising to come back with the part, but he never returned.

Prompt response from Choice Warranty; problem resolved within 48 hours. Technician assigned arrived in a timely manner, investigated the problem and attended to the issue as it presented. At all times the technician was courteous and took his time to explain the reason for the problem. I would recommend Choice Warranty to my friends and colleagues.

My sink is a brushed nickel. The plumber came back with a chrome faucet. Now the sink area clashes as the two finishes don't match. I didn't request the plumber go back and exchange due to the difficutly in getting a plumber to come out (about 1 1/2 weeks or so) in the first place. I just wanted to get my leak fixed so that I could put my kitchen back in order.

I have been paying for this insurance for a while now and my hot water tank took a crap.. so I pay $85 for them to come take their pictures and what not... so Choice orders water tank and tells me I still have to pay $300 to have it put in.... that should be taken care of by choice since it's their worker... I could buy a new hot water tank for the almost $400 I have paid.. and cost nothing to put it in since I could do it myself... so I will be dropping choice after this incident... I hope other people have a better experience with choice... This is good for people who don't know how to do stuff not people that can...

You don’t tell people that you are not giving them anywhere near the money that it takes to replace their appliances. If you would tell people that in the beginning and they signed up with your service that would be fair. I will be canceling my contract with Choice as soon as possible.

Fred was very professional and knowledgeable. He called me 15 mins before his arrival. He was polite and respectful of my home. He was informative after he accessed the problem. He focused on his work and did not leave a mess for me to clean up. He determined that a new thermostat was needed and installed a new one. He checked the outside unit as well as the one in the attic.

It was a little hard to understand the lady. The company you sent was great and would call for them the next time we have an oven issue. Unfortunately the problem that we have would not re-create the issue so the young man was not able to do anything to help us, but that was not his fault. He said he would come back out when we have the issue again. It’s kind of like having an issue with your car with the electronics and it won’t act up when you get to the dealership. We were very pleased with this company and the young man that came out.

I was totally surprised my air conditioner was not covered as the "service valve" was excluded. If I known, I would not have switched from American Home Shield. Now it makes me wonder if I'm really covered & what is the next surprise. The air conditioner coverage begins by saying all components and parts of the system. Somehow they deem the service valve as not part of normal wear and tear. Is it not normal to have your air conditioner serviced on a regular basis where they service us sometimes used to recharge an air conditioner. This is very sketchy!

Washing machine will not start. Went online and filed complaint to Choice Warranty. Choice was quick to respond. Found repairman the next day. Repairman was knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to answer any questions. The whole experience went very smooth and the washing machine was only down for three days total.

The REP was very helpful and pleasant. If I did not want to join your company, he convinced me with his customer service and knowledge. I have had a bad experience with other company that I'm with now, so he assured me that I will not have that problem with this company. He seemed very honest and proud of his company.

I filled in the online request for an issues I had with a leak from under my sink. I classisfied it as a plumbing issue and I put a ? mark before the I said ? pipe. I'm not a plumber and is all I saw it was water dripping from the ? pipe area. Choice then sent a great technician out who said it was coming from the garbage disposal which he replaced and everything was great until I get a call from Ist response plumbing stating Choice is denying the claim and I would have to pay $371 and I already paid $75.
I contacted Choice and was told I said it was a pipe I should have said it was the garbage disposal and I said how was I supposed to know that I'm not a plumber and the resolution person said I would have to put another claim in and pay another $75 because the wrong tech was sent. I said NO. Plumbers do garbage disposals and again how was I supposed to know it was the garbage disposal and not the pipe. I'm disabled and can't get down under the sink and if I could I still wouldn't be able to know what the issue was pipe or disposal. This is actually so disgusting and not ethical that you would do this and expect me to do another claim and pay again. SO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO??? I'm not paying $371 to the Plumbers. Do I need to discuss with an attorney???. PLEASE ADVISE WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

The repairman came on time when he said he would show up. He explained everything to repair my washer. I was quite pleased and satisfy with his explanation. Just need more repairs on it. Choice warranty responded quickly about the part needed for my washer. Overall I am very pleased with me choosing choice warranty.

We just enrolled in a warranty plan today with the help from Anthony. So fa so good. We'll see how it goes the first time we file a claim. The last service we were counting on completely failed us. Our a/c quit. Five days later, still no cool air. We canceled our policy which became effective immediately. Too bad our broken a/c didn't get a response like that!

Brian, the technician who came from Platinum Repair, was cordial and quick to assess the problem. He said the freon needed to be filled, which he did. He then tested the unit and checked that the cooling and heating was working inside our condo unit. When I asked if it would continue to heat and cool well, he said that it would, and that if it did not, we could call Choice Home Warranty to report the problem. Thank you for your good service.

We had our torsion spring failed and it was supposedly covered under our home warranty. CHW assigned a contractor who came from Columbus (2 hrs away). When they arrived they told me that the spring was covered with our $85 service fee but that to finish the installation we would need to pay $250 to adjust / balance the spring for the weight of the door. I don’t understand this. I had a hot water heater replaced under warranty and everything was covered. I did not have to pay for the installation. So instead of a $85 charge I had to pay $335 to get my door working again. This makes no sense to me.

Fred, the technician, was wonderful. Gave me a call 15 mins before he was to arrive. Very knowledgeable and personable. Did not leave a mess, respectful of household furnishings. He checked the unit outside and in the attic and breakers and the thermostat. Very thorough. Replaced the thermostat and all is well.

After letting me know he was arriving soon, the service call was right on time. I loved that he acknowledged my dogs as they were curious to a new person in my home. He was efficient to diagnose the problem and explain to me what was going, got to work and was able to fix the two issues causing my refrigerator not to hold cold. I continued to get calls from unknown unidentified phone number. When I finally identified those numbers as Choice Home Warranty, I called back they did not know why I called that I had a new policy or that they have been calling me. Pro. DON'T SIGN UP WITH THEM!!!! They advertise how easy and convenient it is to work with them, it's a lie!!!! I put in a repair order 2 weeks ago on Sept 24th. For my heat and I am still waiting on confirmation of a tracking number for a part. My heat wasn't working so I called Choice Home Warranty and scheduled for a plumber to come out. The plumber that they sent out said he needed parts and he can come back once he has them. That's understandable. It's been 10 days since the plumber has come.
I received one part and called to let them know. They said they are waiting on the 2nd part. Fair enough after a week I began calling them daily for any type of update. IF THEY DON'T HAVE A ANSWER THEY JUST SAY, "OK, OK" THEN HANG UP ON YOU! Choice is a scam!!! I called for AC repair, they sent a incompetent company again. I ended up finding a company on my own and paying out of pocket. Don't waste your money!!! I stupidly signed up for 5 years. I WANT A FULL REFUND FOR THIS POINTLESS COMPANY!

Choice home warranty did not cover my claim since there were roots clogging the pipe under the toilet. However, the technician who came cleaned out the roots, fixed the seal around the toilet, and gave me pointers on how to discourage further root growth. He charged me fairly for what CHW would not cover. He also helped me tighten the pipes under my kitchen sink at no extra charge.

This is the second time I called Choice Warranty for something big. First time it was my water heater. Now it’s my HVAC system and in my contract book it says you will fix or replace what’s broke. All I have to do is pay $85 service fee but I always have bill. Don’t understand why I still have to pay something more out of my pocket. Is there something I’m missing in the contract? I just don’t understand this and I’m thinking about canceling this contract. Can someone please call me and explain why.

The first Warranty had a low rating but it was a great experience. The warranty offered by CHW has two levels higher a rating. I am impressed by their options for payment but also comprehensive vs simpler coverage. The sales person was courteous and knowledgeable and ordered in the presence of the facts. I was pleased to upgrade my current appliance coverage to their premium warranty that covers my air conditioner. Now, I can cancel some of my other individual home warranty protection plans and have one which will service this whole house.

I was not given anything close to what it will cost to replace my microwave and oven. The worst part is that they don't even consider matching the dimensions of a built in microwave oven. I guess they don't care if that leaves a gap in the current built in. I am very dissatisfied with this experience and could not recommend Choice Home Warranty to anyone.

My A/C was empty of coolant so I had no cool temperatures during the hot days. Callahan Contracting was familiar with my unit as he had worked on it previously. I had a new company come out this morning and for $150 they were able to get my air up and running. He said the system has been maintained very well and that everything on it worked except for the part they had to replace. Your company on the other hand told me that it hadn't been maintained and they wouldn't work on it. I'm not sure I'm going to stay with you because if this is how you treat your clients I pay you monthly for you to do something for me when something goes wrong and obviously you don't do that. I'm very very displeased. Very unhappy. It's just sad I had to get a company out here to do what you should have done. Shame on you!!!

Michael came prepared with the part he suspected was the issue and in short order had it replaced. Problem solved! He listened to the flush which was the cause of the noise and decided to fix it. He drained the tank and wiped up the few drops of water from around the toilet.

Customers need to be aware of a loophole in their CHW contracts which I experienced on a repair claim for $614 (after the $60 deductible) for my washing machine (water pump replacement). Rather than reimburse me for the repair, I was told that CHW was enforcing Section 16 of the contract, which allows them to replace the appliance if it is less expensive than the repair. I was offered a gift card at Lowe's for $547, which I was told was CHW's cost for a new washer. The catch is that their cost is not my cost.
The lowest-priced washer offered by Lowe's is $712 installed (my cost). The insanity of this policy is that "their cost" is not passed on to the customer, so it is a meaningless number used to reduce their claims expense. They offered no explanation of "their cost," and I was told that was what the contract provided. So, beware of "repair or replacement," as CHW DOES NOT replace insured items. They simply give you a dollar amount based on "their cost" that you cannot verify, and you are responsible for replacement which will be greater than the amount you receive. After my complaint, I was told I would receive a check in 30 days instead of a gift card.

I was having trouble with my furnace. 3 or 4 service men attempted to repair the furnace and were unsuccessful. Finally, Choice Home Warranty agreed to replace my furnace with a new one. I was very hopeful this would be a solid solution, but I had a washer break. After about a week and a half, a technician made it to my house. After that, a gift card was promised after a 30-day period. The amount on the card was not enough to cover a new unit, which I expected and could accept; however, over a month to replace a washer is unreasonable. I could have addressed this situation on my own within two to three days, and after paying a monthly fee, frankly, I would have spent less without the warranty.

When the technicians arrived, it was past the allotted time and it was almost 5:00pm. However, they were committed to keeping the appointment with me. The technicians came and assessed the situation. They went beyond in checking the piping under the crawl space to ensure everything was secured. I was very disappointed when my plumber told me that the plumbing stoppage was not being paid for because it was "Based on the information provided to us by you and the Service Provider(s) assigned to your claim, it has been determined that the failure does not constitute normal wear and tear and/or is excluded from coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of your contract."
This was very disappointing, but it was excluded from coverage. My plumber told me that happens with about half of the jobs he is called out for with Choice Home Warranty. I wish I would have had that explained to me more clearly when I signed up. I purchased the coverage because I wanted to protect my appliances and high-dollar items, so I am good with this. However, had I known this was excluded, I would have rented a snake and cleared the line myself and saved $300. I guess I am going to have to read my contract before every incident to ensure that this does not happen again. BTW...if stopped up plumbing is not covered, why is there a "Plumbing Stoppage" item in the list of reasons?

Reported clogged up kitchen sink, very slow drainage. Called today October 8th, 2024. Informed there is a problem with the kitchen sink, water drains very very slowly. Poured Drano down the sink twice but problem still persists. This began over two weeks ago. There was a leak in the garbage disposal unit which was replaced a month ago.

CHW set a repair appointment very quickly. BJ appliance came out and diagnosed the issue and submitted a claim. CHW and case manager Sean kept us up to date on progress and handled the issue professionally. It was the quickest and easiest claim we have made yet. WORST company ever!! Whenever there is a repair or replacement, they make up all types of fees that isn't covered. Had a hot water heater claim, the technician they sent said I needed a replacement, so Choice acted it they were going to cover it by approving the replacement, but they send me $1160 bill saying that there are up items that wasn't covered, so I asked them for a invoice of the total replacement, they claimed they don't have an invoice.
Choice likes to play games and act like we're all stupid. They really expected me to believe that they do not have an invoice from the technician? Then how would they know how much this replacement cost and what items wasn't covered that I had to pay for. I asked them how did they come up with the $1160 that I had to pay, and all they did was make up some items because they did NOT have an invoice to go by. I'm not sure what kind of mickey mouse operation they got going on, but if you don't like money, then go with this company.

The contract states repair of stovetop but you say that you only cover damage from wear and tear. There no advantage of having a warranty because when item need repair from wear and tear it's time to replace it. The only logic answer to having a home warranty is from a mishap of some kind otherwise the warranty is worthless.

On one occasion, they were unable to find someone who could come in a timely manner so I was able to call a local company and arrange to have my A/C repaired ASAP. We were told they would give us Roof Leak coverage if we renewed another 3 yrs- we fell for it. It is “Limited“ cap at $500 annually which they failed to inform us. Then a company they have contract with picked up our claim when we discovered 2 leaks fr roof but we had to wait 4-5 days. Customers have no say once the order was picked up!! Customer service was rude (she said, ”We are not an emergency 24/7 type of company.”) when we called as drops of water was leaking in. We had buckets to catch those droplets and waited and it is the raining season in our state. The roof contractor came out as scheduled (actually much earlier in the day than scheduled) and good thing we were home.
They submitted the order to work on the leak for garage roof and was surprised it was denied almost immediately! No mention of $500 cap that we have available for our warranty and we would pay the balance. Just a straight denial of claim. The repair was supposed to be a standard sectional repair. Then we had to appeal to a case manager and waited another several days to get a quick no from who we assumed, Toni-Ann ** our case manager! False practices are dangerous for a company and most state authorities don’t take that lightly!

I’m beyond frustrated with Choice Home Warranty. First off, the service call fees are ridiculously high, especially considering that they rarely cover or repair anything! It feels like every time I file a claim, they find some lame excuse to deny it, leaving me with broken appliances and no resolution. On top of that, they constantly robocall me trying to upsell a plan upgrade, promising better coverage with absolutely no guarantee things will actually improve. Don’t waste your money. More fine print than you can possibly imagine. They will find a way to decline your claim. Coverage section will say it’s covered but fine print will list unreasonable exclusions. For example they say AC ductwork is covered. Fine print says unless it is collapsed or plugged. When I asked them to explain what on duct work it does cover they couldn’t tell me. Only what it didn’t cover.

I have had 6 tech visits and my ice maker is still not fixed. My next tech visit is Oct 22. I am surprised that it has taken this long to resolve the issue. When I purchased the Choice Warranty program, the reviews for the company were very good. My first appointment for this issue was in June 2024. It's hard to determine why it's taken so long, but I don't think it's a good representation of the company.

This company is a complete scam. I had a leak behind a wall where pipes were supplying an on-demand water heater. I called and they sent out a plumber for a $75 fee. The plumber came and cut several holes in the drywall and eventually decided that the leak was coming from a cold water supply to the heater. He said that he needed to get approval from the company before any repairs could be authorized. We were subsequently informed that the problem was not covered because the pipe in question was not properly strapped in place and was therefore leaking. I emailed to reject this conclusion on the basis that only about 2 inches of the pipe could be seen through the hole that was cut so there was no way to know if the pipe was strapped or not. I was VERY rudely told that because the plumber was a "qualified professional" that he could tell just by seeing 2 inches of pipe that the rest was not strapped in place.
Additionally the part that was exposed by the hole was, in fact, securely strapped so all that he could see was a correctly strapped segment of pipe. Subsequently I was able to see photos taken by the builder showing the pipes before the drywall was applied and these clearly showed that the pipe was strapped according to CA building codes. So, the reason they gave for not covering my problem was completely BOGUS.

I am a 78 yr old women who does not do all the fancy things the computer does. The instructions said I can get my own repair person since your person could not come til the 10. My husband has dementia and lung cancer. This is why I have a home warranty. We are on a very fixed income. The technician was wonderful. The coverage, not so much as I was informed that the issue is NOT covered! I was told to file an appeal and I have. Meanwhile, I am without the use of my kitchen sink and dishwasher. The salesperson assured me that these things were indeed covered. Customer service tells me they only diagnose the problem, not correct it.

Bern helped me get correct description asap into AirPro system, so I could get immediate appt for problem. AirPro description said "broken garbage disposal." & they would not give me apt. Choice's description said "Garbage disposal doesn't clear backup of water". So AirPro was incorrect. Bern sent message to clarify claim. Thank you so much for great customer service.

Backed up sink and leak. Stopped up sink was completed very quickly. The leak took two trips for a total of $225.00. Total repairs and the three year contract put most of financial issue at a premium. It’s sending me to the poor house. Beware of the small print. They will get as much out of you. I notified Choice Warranty online about my claim. My claim was promptly acted on within 24 hrs. I was given all information about Technician, how to contact him and scheduled time for him to come, if it was agreeable to me. The Technician came to my house as scheduled by the warranty company. Choice Warranty offered me a replacement which I accepted. I am very pleased with Choice Warranty actions.

The reason why I gave them a three star is because I had put a claim about my washer not working. Sure enough the tech came and I did the analysis and diagnosis. I paid him the 85 dollars anyway. Choice Home decided that it was more expensive to fix the washer than to just replace it so they offered me 343 dollars. I am sorry but I can't even get a second hand washer with this. I asked for a case manager so I can tell them that and that I don't think it's fair, well I got one assigned to me. The case manager never called me I left him two emails with my phone number and nothing after a few days of waiting his reply I gave up and I went with the 343 dollars. The thing is I have to wait for it for 30 days and it comes In A form of Lowe's gift card. Well Choice Home I just want to let you know that I can't hold off on not washing my clothes for 30 days and that Lowe's don't sell washers for 343 dollars. Thank you.

Our technician, Shan from AFS, was very prompt, reliable and knowledgeable. He actually had to come to our home three times to try to fix our refrigerator/freezer, but had to turn the decision to replace this appliance over to Choice. He explained exactly what needed to be done, and when this failed to correct the problem, explained our next steps.

The technician came out, looked at our washing machine, and knew exactly what was wrong with it. He ordered the parts they came in and a week later he installed the parts and everything worked and it was fixed. I'm dropping Choice Home Warranty. They're not worth a crap. I had to put in a new air conditioner about a year and a half ago. It was about 110 degrees. So, they came out, found what my issue was, and fixed it. They were a Choice repair company that I had used many times. And because it was air conditioner, they fixed it. We called it in after they fixed it, and Choice said, “Oh, we're not paying any of it. You need to call before.” I don't like that kind of crap. I've had Choice for a long time. I found out that by the time I pay the premiums and by the time I pay the service call, and then I have to turn around and pay for parts, because they say, “Oh, your part’s 10 years old,” which happened to me a lot. Where I messed up is I've got one of those five-year deals with Choice.

When a technician arrived, he evaluated our situation and explained the process for repairing our water heater. Your company decided to replace dishwasher instead of repair. Dishwasher is top of line Kitchenaid and not very old. Company only is reimbursing $357 for replacement. I have paid $65 for copay so basically I am only receiving enough for installation of new dishwasher. This is totally unfair and unethical. The cost of replacing the appliance is over $1000. I am very dissatisfied with your company and will not be renewing.

They don't care about your situation. I had plugged toilet and they scheduled a plumber for the following week. CS would not look for a sooner date and so I was left to work with Home Depot to figure out a solution. I ended up using a caustic cleaner which I was advised not to use anymore.

Extremely happy with my technician that came. However at this point I am not impressed with Choice Home Warranty. I am waiting on response from management, I have had other home warranty companies and choice warranty so far has been the most difficult company to deal with. At this time I would not recommend this company as a warranty company to have. My fridge has been broken for over 2 months and still having to fight to have it covered for something that is clearly not at our fault and is stated in the report from the technician.

I filed a claim 8/29/24 on my central air conditioning system. Scheduled 4 times with two different companies/technicians who did not show up to look at it. Every time I call.... same song and dance about rescheduling. As of yesterday after another "no show" I cancelled the claim. Hell, it's almost winter now!! I was told (before i renewed) that the filter was covered and would be replaced. "They keep filters in the trucks". So when the guy showed up he not only didn't have any filters but if he had would charge me for it probably more than the store. So he did NOTHING but charged me 75 dollars. The technician that came to the house was fantastic. But Choice's personnel was awful. They denied a claim that was the same as a previous claim. Then tried to “cut a deal” with me on the phone. Threatened me saying they would not approve my claims anymore if I decided to cancel my police. Overall, I am very dissatisfied with the customer support and case managers for this experience.

I thought that I had an electrical problem. I went back and checked on the problem and determined that it was not in my wiring. The refrig that was plugged into the socket may have a short. My dryer would not heat. I did my first call for service online with Choice HBW. The process went smoothly. I had a tech at my house in just a few days. The problem turned out to be the ignition switch. The tech had a replacement switch with him! He replaced the broken switch! My dryer is fixed! I was happy with the service. The first two events were just not responded to within a reasonable amount of time. One was an AC unit and the other a refrigerator. We had to call our own technician. We were very upset by how long it would take the technician to fit us in. Then he sent an email 15 minutes before they were expected for the refrigerator, to say that they needed to reschedule another 4 days later. Unacceptable. The third one is still in process. The initial response time was excellent. Part is ordered.

You want me to tell you what I think about this company, here is my respond. I think that I informed you about the crocked Salesman from Choice who canceled my account with them without my knowledge and agreement, to be able to sell my 90% deaf husband a new contract. He withdrew $950 from my checking account. They know my numbers because of automated payment for my contract with them My husband does not even remember what he was told. I was not home and I would never been a victim of this scam.
My husband is an Invalid and 90% deaf. They refunded part of the money and reinstated my contract. I had reported a leak in my plumbing. They send out a technician who fixed the problem. He reported the damage and called them for their agreement He got their OK. After he was done and I paid him $75.00 He had not left when he received a call from Choice. They told him that they are are not paying him and the leek now was not covered, When I called them I was told that they send me an e-mail, which told me why there was no coverage. I never received that mail.
When the technician told me that he now is not getting paid. I was shocked, I am in this country, born in Germany, for over 50 years and have never dealt with an outfit like Choice. They would never be able to do business in Europe, I am sure because I worked for a court .in Germany. If they have any honor left, they pay the technician while I report this incident to you and an agency who looks into fraud and whose victims are Seniors.
I know that Choice is being sued and has hundreds of complaints against them. This problem I had with them needs to be reported and I am not done asking them to pay back the amount which they deducted from a contract which never existed. I want them to stop e-mailing us, they always advertise but I already been or was a client. The mail they told me was send today, is still in the air and trying to find us.
I feel sorry for the people who work for Choice. I think that they take advantage of the little businesses who work for them and the customers who had, like me, to experienced their unethical business manners. I hope that they lose their license and don't understand how a respected Agency can recommend them. I placed a claim for repair of my irrigation system on 9/8/24. A contractor was assigned 9/90. Tuned out he didn't work on irrigation systems he was a plumber!. So I got went to your website and requested a new contractor. Got one....same story, didn't work on irrigation systems. This happened no less than 5 times with assigned contractors! The 5th one came out and said he'd give it try....but NO he couldn't fix it. It is now 10/4 and my system is still broken. Almost a month in Arizona 100+ temperatures daily, I have lost palm trees and plants totaling in the thousands! Worst customer service I have ever run into. You assigned Plumbers to do a landscape project "5" times. I will not recommend Choice unless this is rectified immediately.

They had someone at my house the very next day. The company they hired to fix my dryer was a 10 star. He not only fixed my dryer but found another noise after he left and he was back in 2 hours to take care of the 2nd issue.

From start to finish everything was smooth and easy. I called on Wednesday and am sitting in cool air today, Friday. The repairman was great as well. I was given a timeslot of 11am - 3pm. He texted at 11:20 that his ETA was 11:45 & he was here at 11:45. Took about 10 min and I am good to go. I would definitely recommend CHW to anyone who needs a GREAT home warranty!

The technician was here 30 minutes after I filed the claim. Unfortunately the garage door wasn't covered by Choice. Only the remotes but I paid the technician and he fixed it. He was excellent. I thought my garage door was covered. He replaced my rollers and bearings and rebalanced door. I was told by the guy who sold me the contract that it was covered. Apparently you really need to read your contracts.

Nick was wonderful, texted to communicate like I requested due to Verizon nationwide outage. He was very thorough. I do have Nick coming back today to replace the broken toilet seat, he didn't have one in his truck. My question is that I received a notice that part of my repair wasn't approved? Being a consumer of CHOICE for many years, some of our encounters have been outstanding and some not. I try to understand that CHOICE is dealing with many different customers with different personalities, but CHOICE is not giving their service FREE. Point of contention (not in order): 1. During the course of a year, I may call upon different service people to perform various jobs and when the need arises to call CHOICE, I would like to recommend a provider that I already done business with and was satisfied with their product. I have NOT ALWAYS been satisfied CHOICE's pick. 2. Being a common user of any type of service I expect honesty and straight talk of the problem. If it can be repaired fine if not replace the unit as stated in the contract REPLACE, not giving the consumer a check and have them acquire the replacement.
3. CHOICE and THEIR providers have a working relationship and rightly so but being the consumer and if I'm not satisfied find out why. I have had 3 incidents where services were NOT PERFORMED, and we had to deal with NO CONTACT WITH THE PROVIDER and RUN AROUND FROM CHOICE. 4. As a retired couple living off of a fixed income inconvenience is the last thing we need, am I totally faulting CHOICE NO, I try to understand that we're not their only customers, but empathy and understanding should go both ways. I hope I have met the guidelines for providing this review!

He was courteous and professional, ultimately recommending the replacement of the ice maker. In less than 2 weeks from beginning to end, I had a working ice maker again. Refrigerator was very old, so received check to replace it. They could not find a plumber, so I got plumber without their approval, so they did not re-imburse me for that plumber. Someone rates Choice Home Warranty "Best" but that just isn't the facts. NEVER TRUST CHOICE HOME WARRANTY. THEY WILL SCREW YOU!!!! What Choice Home Warranty did to my Lennox 2 Speed High End HVAC can only be compared to someone bringing in a Rolls-Royce for an engine change and the dealer put a Volkswagen engine in it. Below is the last Communication with Choice Warranty. I have a Lennox 2 speed Compressor HVAC with a variable speed fan and my evaporator coil went out.
Choice Warranty decided to replace the whole air handler and supposed to get an air handler compatible with my High End Lennox 2 Speed HVAC but instead Choice Warranty purchased a low end Carrier HVAC air Handler that after being installed could work with my 2 speed High-end Lennox HVAC compressor and it had a 3 speed blower that would not work with the Lennox High End HVAC so all I have is one speed on the blower. All the energy saving and special features I paid for with the High End Lennox Unit is “GONE” AND CHOICE WARRANTY DOES NOT GIVE A DAMN, and in fact all the president of the company ask me is, “DOES IT WORK” What a joker. I CAN PROMISE YOU I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND “CHOICE HOME WARRANTY” TO ANY HOME OWNER.
In the recent Claim Number: ** you all purchased an air handler that was supposed to be comparable with my High End Lennox A/C unit but the Carrier Unit you purchased is in no way compatible with my Lennox 2 speed a/c with the variable speed fan in the Air Handler. First, The Air handler you all sent is not compatible with my two-speed outside compressor and does not communicate with the outside unit so I am stuck with using a single speed for the outside unit which is unacceptable because it burns twice the power because you all send an incompatible, improper, inside unit.
Also the Blower is not comparable with the unit because the Lennox blower is a high tech variable speed unit that saves much energy and the fan in the Carrier unit you all bought has a low end three speed fan that is not comparable with the outside unit and will not run but ONE speed, this fact causes much more energy burning.. You might say the unit will cool but the cost of using it is far higher because it is not at all compatible with my high end Lennox unit. The unit you all had Comfort Air install is in no way near being compatible with my high end Lennox unit. So you all need to purchase the proper Air Handler from Lennox or an air handler that will be 100% Compatible with my High end Two Speed Compressor and high end Variable speed fan unit in the inside unit.

I had trouble with my air conditioner and I got it fixed quickly and everything's working. The technician was knowledgeable and did the work well. I’ve been with Choice for about three years and I enjoy it. They've done what they said they would do, and that will influence me on whether I will renew or not at the end of next year when it comes up.

Just joined Choice Warranty today. Gentleman I talked with Anthony was very friendly and explained everything I asked. I pray we have a long working relationship. This by far is the best home warranty company, I was with AHS for over 20 years and they would take forever to send a repair person so I would have to pay for the service out of pocket and they would never refund me. My water heater went out and it was going to be 2 weeks before repair person could come so I paid out of pocket and hoping they would refund but they did not. I have called Choice and I have had a repair person at my house the next day and every technician has been wonderful. This is the only home warranty computer to go with.

Efficient and Professional. Quick process and the gentleman I spoke to was very knowledgeable, had an outstanding understanding of American Home Shield vs. Choice. Service calls are $75 vs the $100 I was paying. AHS had a limit on HVAC/Air Conditioning vs zero limits with Choice. Thank You. Thank You. Thank You.

Person on phone very helpful and very professional. I was treated with curtousy and respect. Person went above and beyond to get me the best deal possible. Information promised arrived on time. Person even allowed me time to consider all options before closing. I would highly recommend Choice Home company.

I'm not sorry that I purchased this home warranty. At first I didn't think I would need it but then I had an event to occur, and boy was I glad I had it. They were swift to get me an appointment and I didn't have to call around. So far I've disagreed with only one of their decisions and had a bad experience with one of the contracted vendors but other than that it been nice to get repairs done quickly. Oh, and do review what's covered and the limitations; it'll save you a lot of grief to know what to expect.
