    I put in a claim almost a month ago and my dryer is still not fixed. If I would have known how this is how Choice does business I never would have changed home warranty companies.     I called CHW and they were very responsive and set up a date and time for technician. He came and quickly found the issue. He said he would be back with new thermostat in a couple of days in that he would have to go pick one up. That was on a Tuesday. Got a notification from CHW that he would be out on Friday between 3-8. No show. Called CHW twice that weekend and couldn’t get in touch with the guy. I was slightly disappointed that there wasn’t any more of a concern to get someone out or another technician since it had been two weeks with me having no heat. They finally got him to come the next Monday.

    Refrigerator wasn’t cooling. Came in and made some adjustments. Did an excellent job. The only problem I have with the whole situation is it took a week to get here and it was my refrigerator that wasn’t cooling properly. Needless to say I was a little annoyed being that all my food could have been spoiled. They need to get a little bit better on estimated times but the technician did a great job. He was excellent.

    Great first time experience with Choice Home Warranty. I was dispatched a technician in less than a day. Technician arrived and diagnosed the problem in 10 minutes. The electrical wiring was installed wrong on the capacitor which resulted in the outdoor unit not recognizing the indoor thermostat. Fixed the issue in less than 5 minutes. Great service!!!     They are fraud. Never ever take policy with them. I took their 6 year plan with reduced monthly fee. I filled 3 claims in 2.5 years and none of them were serviced neither paid. Only for one of the claim they paid 275$ and I had to bring my own technician and had to paid 750$. Their service is very poor, they never send their technician and even if he comes he will never resolve your issue and finally you have to arrange your own, this happened with me for all 3 claims. After that keep negotiating with them for your claim. Finally, I cancelled the policy because of their pathetic service, they deducted a hefty amount from my deposit and also deducted the claim they partially paid. They are running a fraud, never ever get trapped with them.

    After placing a claim in about an electrical issue in the house, I called the assigned company at 8:30 p.m. and they answered. I asked them to see if they can come earlier than what the ticket said. However in the conversation the tech said before they come out call the power company to see if it was on their side or not. The power company came out and found a wire that was underground partially cut, from when the city did some work on new cabling 6 to 8 months ago, which caused the power issue at the house.     We contacted Choice for a claim with our plumbing and was told that it needed to be 2 claims since one was for the garbage disposal and the other for the pipes. The technician was flexible with the schedule to come earlier than originally submitted, but I didn't know he doesn't accept cards until he got here. There should have been some indication from Choice that this business doesn't take cards. We could have been more prepared with cash on hand. I also called the Customer Service line about my claim and the representative was very defensive about every question I asked.

    After having two electricians tell me my existing electrical system needed to be brought up to code, I submitted a claim. This was their response: "Your policy has the following exclusion, which require systems become inoperative due to normal wear and tear. Your policy provides coverage for failures that are the result of normal wear and tear. Failures that occur due to abnormal operating conditions or catastrophic events are excluded from coverage."

    This is a house with an aging electrical system and if that's not "normal wear and tear" I don't know what else it could be. I appealed the claim, was given a time and person who would call me. They did not call at the stated time, so I called them. After reaching a claims agent, she put me on hold for six minutes while she "became familiar with my claim." When she returned she said the exact same thing as their initial response. The most galling aspect of this charade is the company sends me at least two emails every day wanting me to extend my warranty with them. Why on earth would I do that? They are a scam.

    After submitting a claim for a water heater failure I had to call customer service to find out if the claim was accepted. The claim was approved but then was not assigned until the following day. The plumber came out and confirmed that the water heater needed to be replaced and submitted the diagnosis. The repair was approved at some point but required me paying nearly a thousand dollars for some necessary upgrades to put the water heater in. The tank was also apparently under manufacturer’s warranty but this was never passed along to me despite several phone calls to customer service.

    The plumber called to find out what was going on and informed me that CHW was saying I needed to call the manufacturer to start the warranty replacement on that side of the equation. Following another call to customer service this was finally relayed to me so that I could get started on this on a Saturday! The plumber then came out on Saturday night and got everything fixed. The plumber - I would recommend. CHW - probably not. Terrible customer service and communication. I’m not sure there was any actual cost savings after this repair.

    I am writing to help warn anyone from using this company. I switched from Old Republic (we will be going back) to My Choice after they reached out and over promised on what they offer. I should of known then it sounded too good to be true. In November we noticed our water heater leaking from the bottom. We filed a claim and a plumber came out - he was great and let us know it wasn't installed correctly in addition to be very old. It needed to be replaced and we needed to add a water shut off. My Choice denied the claim and stated the plumber didn't say we needed a new water heater. We decided to refile so the new plumber could draft it very clearly and know they won't do anything until we fix the issue from the original claim as they believe the leak is because we don't have a water shut off. We can't get anyone to under the issue and have gone back to our previous warranty which will cover if something is not installed correctly.

I put in ice packs to test it and they were warm in the morning.     I had issue with my MBR shower head leaking. Mr ** of MITCI Plumbing was assigned. He is very knowledgeable and experienced. He was able to instantly diagnose that the leakage is due to cartridge of the shower knob, not from shower head. He replaced cartridge instantly and I am back to normal use of our bathroom shower.     Reported that dishwasher quit working. Choice setup an appointment with Diamond Appliance for the repair. The next day Diamond called and said they could come 2 days earlier. The repairman, John, showed up on time and began checking the dishwasher. He found several issues needing to be repaired/replaced. He looked up the parts on his tablet and found they were all available. John explained it may take a week or 2 for the parts to arrive. We were astounded when we received word that the parts were in 4 days later. They setup the repair to be done 2 days later. John arrive and said the repair may take a couple of hours and got right to work. Once finished with the repair John ran the dishwasher for about 10 minutes, checked for any leaks, and made sure the dishwasher was operating properly before he left.     Today a GE authorized repairman from Choice Home Warranty came to repair our double oven. It became apparent that parts were no longer available for this model and that the entire double oven would have to be replaced. While the repairman was a perfect gentleman, he failed to take measurements or photographs of the space where the replacement ovens would have to be installed. Attached is a picture of the double oven since the model number was no longer legible. Hopefully this will help ascertain which replacement model will need to be used in place of the existing model.     They will first circle around you to get your money. Once you are in the contract with them, the pain starts. First, you will never get a quick appointment, no matter if the problem is big or small. Then, your appointment will continue to jump numerous times. Their customer care phone line is always busy, and they don't bother to reply to your email. You are just left stranded to figure it out on your own. It has been nearly a month since I am running behind them to fix a small MCB. Finally left with no choice I wrote an email their CEO hoping that he will reply. I am in my second contract with them and have noticed a severe drop in their customer service levels. My contract term is about to end with them and will never sign an extension.

    After 24 hrs no one had picked up our claim so around 7 pm you said we could find own tech. We called FourNeeds LLC and he said we and he needed to call CHW at 8 AM, so he could pick up the job since he didn’t see our claim in the jobs list. We like that u did let him take the job as we have been pleased with their previous work. The tech came the next day and lessened the rotors’ metal grating sound but it still sounds louder than it should. He said he told CHW the motor bearings were “off”/going bad & unit should be replaced. BUT In an email to me Choice denied claim & wrote “the assigned technician reported no mechanical failures and has advised there are no repairs needed or recommended at this time.” This is opposite of what the tech’s manager told us he reported to you.

    We feel since the disposal is over 2 years old and a rotor went wonky that it’s just a matter of time before it again malfunctions, costing us another $60 and a tech person’s time. My daughter and we both have your service plans since 2018. She has had a couple services either denied or not fixed correctly, and we’ve had miscommunications about service people who were supposedly assigned but never showed up or CHW said they never got the tech’s paperwork. Both of these delayed decisions on our getting repairs. I’d like to ask CHW to review their decision to deny. Thank you.

    The claim to replace the water heater in the home I rent started on November 20, 2024. It was finally completed on December 19, 2024. 4 hours to get someone to take care of this?!? Try 30 days and three technicians!!! The first two you assigned to us refused to do the work because you owe them money. The third and final one was wonderful and only does home warranty assigned repairs out of the kindness of his heart. He told me about the hoops you put technicians through in order for them to get paid, and the delays involved. I personally find home warranty companies to be only interested in making money, not in making proper repairs, nor offering technicians a decent living wage, nor keeping their promises to their customers. This experience only reinforces that. Fraudulent companies like yours need to be put out of business. You deserve -0- stars, but you get two because the technician who finally did the work did a nice job.

    The technician that came to my house was professional. Unfortunately he was a Samsung representative who showed up to work on Whirlpool products.     Started this claim in July- August, for failing HVAC unit, first tech came, filed report; failing compressor and air handler leaking freon. You cancelled that company and sent another company and again you cancelled them, and you sent another, and you cancelled their findings. 5 different companies came, sometimes as much as 3 visits, trying to fulfill your request. I lost 32 hours of pay, meeting with all these companies. Compressor failed approx. Dec 1st, you sent a tech out, he recorded need replacement of outside unit and also air handler since he had been there before, you cancelled him and brought new company in to take measurements and sizing. You offered only to repair 50% of the issue with my portion being $11,000, I must pay to correct this issue. It is now one week before Christmas and still you refuse and use tactics to look over the full needed repair, and.leave it to the consumer to pay the brunt of it..

    Terrible company, deflecting reports to meet their goals, using call in center games to aggravate the situation and prevent communication of the situation and promote your agenda of not fulfilling your obligation by contract!! Stating false accusations that tech did not file complete report, in which 90% of them I witnessed, what was being sent in and the instant it was sent, only to be told by you the following day, the report was incomplete and a new tech was scheduled to come out. Your company is scam. You do not stand by your policies or obligations and do not allow repairs, you promote stress and false promises of completion.     I'd have rated the company zero stars, if there was such a choice. They are involved in clear corporate fraud and will do anything to deny the claim. My claim on the cracked sewage pipe deep inside the internal wall of the house was denied on the basis of the damage caused by freezing! The plumber who did the repair laughed his head off when he heard this nonsense. I'm pursuing a legal case against this fraud of a company and my lawyer is considering a class action suit based on the pattern of defrauding their customers. Do not buy this home warranty, as this is a joke of a business, which only cares of taking your money upfront to never pay you back if a problem occurs. The company is not accredited by a BBB, and has nearly 1900 complaints filed against it through BBB. Beware and stay clear of these fraudsters.

    Choice called me a several months ago, and I decided to sign up for a home warranty. Shame on me, I should've researched. This company is AWFUL! I had to file a claim for a new refrigerator and my washer (1 year old, just out of warranty). Took 6 days to assign a tech to come out. The tech couldn't come for another week. So, 2 weeks out... tech tells me on the day he's supposed to come that Choice changed the terms of his payment, and that he wouldn't be coming. So, Choice says they have to "research" that, ended up canceling that tech and putting me back in the automated dispatch pool to wait for a different tech to be assigned.

    Impossible to speak to anyone that can actually help. Every time I called for an update (because they WILL NOT reach out to me on their own), I have to explain the entire situation over and over. And, they give the exact same scripted response to "please give them more time" to research or whatever. Waste of time and money... Will be canceling and just getting repairs handled on my own.

When I called the company to see if they can handle the issue, they said we were not on the schedule as Choice had indicated. When I pointed this out to Choice, they immediately cancelled the assigned contractor. Eventually, the original contractor called to say they could come a day earlier than Choice indicated.

    About an hour later, they called back to say Choice just cancelled their assignment. Meanwhile, it took Choice another day before they assigned another contractor, and it was for two days later that the original contractor said they could handle the issue. In the end, the new contractor "fit" us in much earlier and did a great job fixing the issue! A 5 star for them.

    The claims process can be incredibly frustrating if the repair is not quick/easy. I’ve had a ticket open for almost 3 weeks, most of that time has been spent in a holding pattern…first waiting for a contractor to be assigned, then waiting for the contractor to actually show up for an appointment, now 5 days waiting for a disposition (fix or replace).

    Every time I call asking for support I’m told we are giving the technician more time “another 24-48 hrs”. The escalation department is a joke… The rep will speak in a mocking voice repeating the same script as though the customer is out of line for asking for them to help navigate the process.     Generally, I don’t provide reviews but in light of the recent killing of the United Healthcare ceo this has struck a chord with me. Recently I made my first claim for a water heater replacement as was recommended by the technician sent by Choice Home Warranty and it was denied by the assigned case manager citing their like for like policy. My water heater is an 80g your policy only replaces up to a 75g which I have expressed that I am satisfied with. Additionally, the state of Alabama requires a minimum 50g water heaters (they are proven to more efficient.) I do not believe that the like for like policy is applicable here given the state requirements additionally I have expressed I am satisfied with the 75g water heater.

    I have requested an escalation and to be provided with another case manager which to date I have not heard from. In fact, the remedy offered was if I am dissatisfied with the decision was to cancel my policy. I am awaiting the new assigned case worker promised weeks ago. It seems like a deny, delay and dispose is the strategy of home warranty insurance also. With that being said I provided the above rating. Awaiting a resolution.

    The policy does not cover the electrical box attached to the outside of the house and controls the electrical systems on the inside. Choice would not cover the claim because of the location of the electrical box. The case manager gave no explanation of the claim denial other than the policy language, which does not give any considerations to the function of electrical systems of a home. The case manager said I could not escalate the claim to anyone above her. In other words, there was no authority above herself who would communicate with customers. The technician even tried to explain the issue to the case manager, who just kept quoting the policy verbatim. Very frustrating and disappointing experience. It wasn’t just because my claim was denied, but also because of the limited knowledge of the case manager, and Choice’s policy of simply dismissing their customer concerns.

    Would rate ZERO stars if that were an option. I do NOT write negative reviews, but hope to save others from paying for a service that simply is not there. Strongly do NOT recommend. Two of my biggest concerns, being informed an electrical company has been assigned later to find out from the service company they will not work for Choice warranty claims and they have informed Choice of this. (Two separate service companies told me) I ended up paying for an electrician without going through Choice because I was going on a month without electricity for half my home due to a storm. Choice could not locate a company that actually agreed to come out.

    The other big concern was a leak from my ceiling to the carpet. Took over 5 days to get tech assigned. I did call Choice on day one to see if I could get a service out timely. I was told to give them 72hrs. I could not wait 72hrs with the leak. I paid for emergency service and paid for the fix without Choice so I could save my carpet and my ceiling. Choice got a service company assigned 5 days after initial claim was submitted. Very disappointed it took FIVE days. Choice warranty did not hold up to their end of the deal providing timely service when needed. Please know, I paid for a 3 year warranty on TWO homes. Due to my experiences with Choice, I canceled early even though my warranty was paid off. That should say something.

    We've been with Choice Home Warranty for about 1.5 years. We filed a claim recently for a broken dishwasher. The appliance repair service came and it needed parts. It was going to cost around $600 in parts and labor to repair the dishwasher. Choice Home Warranty said not to repair it but for us to order a new dishwasher and that they were giving us $246 towards a new one. You can't even buy a used one for that amount of money. We demanded $600 since that is what it would cost to repair it. They said all we were getting is $246 and that was it. I will not recommend this company to anyone. They are a rip off company.
