I've already had two issues with this contract and they repaired both very quickly and completely. My fridge and pool equipment. I have and do recommend Choice Warranty for those looking for a good coverage option. The cost value is right where it needs to be and service fee is also affordable. Choice fails to honor warranty coverage promises and if a claim is approved the payout is well below the cost to repair. I was left to cover repairs for covered items on two separate claims. Additionally, I was displeased with the lack of standards for high quality customer service when I attempted to better understand the policy.

I have a washing machine that died. I had to pay for home visit prior to scheduling appointment. Once I paid for the home visit the appointment was scheduled nearly 3 weeks out. Now parts are out of stock and I have waited for a week, called in and there is no ETA of if and when parts will be available

Updated on 02/19/2025: Typically I have had great experiences with my Choice Home Warranty, until now. My refrigerator ice maker and water dispenser are inoperable. After filing my claim, a technician from HomePro Experts came the next day to repair it. He was successful but they stopped working again the next day. As directed, I reached out to the technician directly and he said he’d be out the next day to fix it again but then never showed up. I alerted CHW and they rescheduled the same technician to come the following Monday—once again he did not show up and he’s not replying to any of my messages. Here we are a week later and the repairs have still not been made! :( I’m extremely frustrated!
Original Review: My Bosche refrigerator, ice maker and water dispenser suddenly stopped working. I filed a claim and the repair was scheduled for the next day! The technician showed up, got to work, replaced a faulty wire in the dispenser, tested the water and ice maker, and was done in 30 minutes! I'm so thankful for my home warranty!!

We experienced issues with our heating system, and the HVAC service call was scheduled promptly, which was much appreciated given the colder temperatures. The technician quickly identified the problem and resolved it within an hour. Choice's customer service was straightforward and easy to work with, and overall, the service was excellent

All in all the technician did a great job repairing our refrigerator. The concern I had was I feel he was not provided the proper tools to do the repair. The dryer he had was old and substandard so it made what should’ve been a simple job much longer and more laborious. The other issue was that he was not provided things like pads or things to protect the floor so then there was a huge cleanup. After the fact, he was a great technician. I just feel as a company they can do more to give their staff the tools and resources they need to do their best job.

I was pleased with the claim submission process and the quick identification of a quality service provider. However, I was not pleased with the unannounced increase of the initial service fee required over what was stated in my contract renewal 3 years ago. A call to a Choice customer service rep resulted in an answer the basically said—“Sorry that but nothing can be done about that. Goodbye.“

Very professional and courteous, explained everything that was wrong and what needed fixed and even stayed late to finish the work. I will definitely use him again for all my plumbing needs and repairs. Offer's fair prices on projects/repairs not covered by Choice Home Warranty. Excellent job done. Even cleaned up the mess. Filing a claim with Choice Home Warranty was super easy and fast. Their response to my claim was almost immediate. The contractor was scheduled the same day I filed the claim and performed the replacement of our water heater flawlessly. I have zero complaints! Excellent job all around by all.

Tech showed up on time checked my opener determined that it needed to be replaced. Replaced the unit within an hour my door was operating again. Glad we have Choice Warranty, have had numerous occasions to use them, they always replace or repair whatever they are called about. If they can’t replace or repair they will offer you a fair amount to buy a new one.

I contacted Choice Home Warranty this evening to file a claim re excessive hissing and vibration from our air conditioning unit outside when the motor kicked in to cool house down around 5:30 pm. The customer service rep- RIA was very professional & listened carefully as I explained the problem. She was very caring and friendly. I had CHW for a short time. Paid upfront which was over 500.00. My air went out and when the repair guy called them, they wouldn't cover it. The unit was old and had rust and that is the reason they wouldn't cover it. I wound up having to buy a whole new unit myself, out of pocket. Choice knew they were wrong and they sent me $150.00 for my trouble. I don't trust any home warranty; I will not buy from any. I told them when something sits outside in rain, snow and everyday things will rust. I ask them before I bought this, I needed a booklet so I could read the warranty. Of course they don't have them. By seeing some of these reviews, seems I'm not the only person that is not happy with them. When you're on SS, you have to watch the way to spend.

I called in on Sunday and by Monday A plumbing company was assigned to me. They showed up Tuesday and the gentleman came in, identified the problem and replaced it all quick, no mess. Fantastic service. He was polite and explained everything to me. I have had others come in and treat me like an idiot. Nothing like that happened.

I would highly recommend Top Air Cooling & Air Conditioning. They were very professional, showed up on time, gave a thorough inspection and had the work done in a timely manner. Very happy I could this without having to use humans. The future is clear, a bit more AI and I no longer have to deal with not so friendly in the settlement staff in your call centers. In house service was good, staff should have shoe covers on rainy days!

Shower Faucet leaking, it took 2 days for appointment received and verified. Ollinger plumbing gave prompt and friendly service. I would definitely recommend their service to others. The serviceman was seemed knowledgeable in his work. This was the first time I used my Warranty that I purchased from you.. To our future together and others.

I found the webpage helpful and easy. Then, before I was even finished online, the deluge of texts and phone calls was horrible. For example, someone called yesterday, twice. The second time I explained that I was busy and would call back tomorrow. I received 4 phone calls before 2 pm. Then I called back, there was no greeting just a tentative "hello." I hope your company is just as responsive when I phone for a claim.

I was very happy with the repair and the technician, and I am happy with the cost of $85.00. We were without water for four days, but thank you for honoring my policy. I am satisfied with Choice home Warranty. The tank started leaking at the top of the water heater. The connection that was part of the water heater itself hat broken or rusted.

AC wouldn't turn on and we thought it was an electrical issue. AC tech said it wasn't an electrical problem, showing us that we had power at all the outlets. He said it was probably an AC unit problem. Adel (Electrician) was very friendly and helpful! He was on time, courteous and did a complete check of system.

The Tech showed up when they said they would. He assessed the issue and ordered parts. He called later that day and told me when they would be back. It took a week to get the parts but they returned on the day they said they would be back. When he got into the repair he found that he needed more than what he had with him. He went to the hardware store and bought what he needed to complete the repair as promised.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Choice Home Warranty is always trying to find reasons to not pay claims and they don't check to make sure the people who come to your home for repairs are licensed. Our home almost caught on fire because of the individual they allowed to come to do repairs in our home. The person wasn't a licensed electrician. The local power company supervisor came to our house to inspect the continued problem we were having, and he said we were extremely lucky it didn't catch on fire due to the individual's work. They allowed the same person to come to our house for a different issue that wasn't electrical related, it was plumbing related. Again, he wasn't a licensed plumber either.

Tech called me with a time and was not late. Tech came out, took care of problem in about an hour. Has been here before for the heater, it was the thermostat before. Showed me the problem with a picture and explained. It was the igniter this time.

I had Choice Home Warranty since 2017 with a 6-year contract. We didn't like Choice appliance replacement policy at all. For example, my LG front load washer and dryer failed and Choice decided it was not worthy to repair, though they looked like new and were still in fairly good condition. Choice gave $450 each for replacement instead of repair and did not cover tax and installation/removal. The amount only covered around 50% of our real cost for replacement at that time. The way Choice determined reimbursement amount for my old policy was the lowest price for an appliance on the web regardless of color, brand, capacities. I believe Choice also guaranteed the price for renewal for my 2017 deal.
We were thinking about switching to American Home Shield (AHS) because two houses we had with Choice may need to replace water heaters and furnaces soon. AHS has excellent and generous appliance replacement policy. We spent $0 for replacing a top clothes washer recently which included a washer with retail price over 1k, haul away and installation. if you need proof, I can send you the model number and communication record. When our Choice contract was due for renewal in 2023, the Choice salesman called us and told us they increased the policy price and service fee, but the new plan specifically improved the appliance reimbursement method and it was much better than the old policy. He said the new policy would reimburse much more to match customer's real cost instead of using the lowest price on the web for reimbursement.
We believed him and renewed for another 6 years. We just had our 1st appliance replacement this week since the new policy started: our 30" Kenmore stainless steel electric range failed. Choice gave us $330 for replacement. I told the case manager the lowest sale price on the web I could find was $629. She told me they did not match brand and stainless steel and at Best Buyer, she saw there was an open box white electric range which was for sale at $579 before tax/installation/removal. I said $579 was still much more than $330. She said Choice only gave the wholesale price of $579. It is getting ridiculous. How can I get the wholesale price of an open box item on the internet.
The new plan was even worse than the old one!!! I told her what the salesman told me for renewal. She said Choice gave me 30 days to review the contract and contract stated that Choice reserved the right to reimburse customer with cash less than the retail price. It is a shame for Choice case manager to say so. This is just a general statement in any contract.
If she thought this statement justified this reimbursement approach, then this statement also justified $1 reimbursement. If Choice reimburses people for wholesale price of an open item (already deeply discounted), Choice should state so in the contract: instead of repair, Choice reserves the right to reimburse customer with cash at the wholesale price which could be way more than 50% less than the retail price for replacement!!! I just ordered one range. Even with a big sale and doubling Choice's cash offer, it still won't cover my real cost. What a shame. Also shame on Choice salesman fooled us into this renewal.

Chosen Construction did an excellent job. Quentin, the plumber is very knowledgeable and performed his job in a timely manner. I highly recommend this plumber. I was nervous at first beaded on reviews. However, my experience was beyond lovely. Even customer service at Choice Home Warranty was very nice. I highly recommend both companies if you’re having issues with covered items. This was my first time having to put in a claim. I’m so grateful that it worked out in my favor..

Tech. replace a part but it is still doing the same thing as before need for him to come back and determine what is really needed here. In my opinion I believe that the unit be replaced with a new one, this unit is 28 years old, think it's time to replace it.

Very disappointed so far. It’s the 3rd time in a year we had to call on our furnace. It was never fixed appropriately. It would run and run and run and never shut off. CHW doesn’t see anything wrong with that as long as it is heating the home. Now, not even a year later it will not heat at all. We were told someone would be here between 7am and 11. They never showed. When I called their vendor, he had no idea he was supposed to be here. Needless to say…. he can’t come for another week. I called back to CHW, they just put in another claim and I just have to wait for another company to accept. I guess we will do the same as we did last year and eventually it will be spring and forgotten until next winter. I will definitely give an update if and when something changes. Stay tuned!!!

I had an extremely frustrating experience with XX. Our heating system broke down, and I started a new claim on February 6, 2025. I didn’t hear from them for two days, so I called back on February 8 for updates. After speaking with a customer service representative, I received an email stating that my appointment was scheduled for Monday, February 10. However, just five minutes after that first email, I got a second email notifying me that my appointment had been canceled. They claimed it was because I had found my own technician, which was completely untrue—I never said anything like that. I called back again, and they reopened my claim.
When I called on Monday morning for updates, I could only hear a message saying the office was closed. I couldn’t wait any longer; a winter storm was approaching the next day. I decided to cancel the claim and reach out to a local company instead. They arrived for a diagnostic just an hour after my call. I am very frustrated with this insurance company, especially since I live in the city. It should not take five days to assign contractors. I have been paying my monthly fees, yet they never came to help, and now I have to pay an outside company for repairs. What’s the point of having insurance in this situation?

Technician diagnosed the problem very quickly and identified replacement parts. He quickly checked on part availability and determined that needed parts are not available on the island and will either be ordered or universal parts might be available. He has not yet contacted me with availability of parts and will need to reschedule the repair work.

The technician came out and fixed our problem, I paid him the $75 fee and was very satisfied. Then I was notified that you had not approved the repair, your email to me said it was not normal wear and tear. It absolutely was! The gasket in the drain pipe was broken. There was no reason to not approve such a small job. I was very disappointed with this and will be reviewing my options when renewal time comes.

My first two claims went easily, after that I had problems. The staff I talked with spoke very quickly and at 87 years old I had a hard time understanding their answers. Sometimes I was put on hold and had to start all over again, this is a problem for me.

Technician was on time, called me 30 mins in advance of arrival, took my payment and said he would fix it. Called me and said he would have order new parts (gear for chain drive). Told me he would be back when the part came in and it should be fixed by the end of the week.

After years of use the door handle to open and close my built in micro fell off. I scheduled an appt with a CHOICE tech to come fix it. Tech found the handle was no longer available and submitted the info to CHOICE. Choice decided it was not due to normal wear and tear but that it was," physically damaged/broken", and therefore not covered by warranty. I don't agree with this answer, i did not brake the door handle, as a tire in a car that turns and turns after a period of time it will need to be replaced due to wear or encountering a nail. I hope thru the appeal process CHOICE will do the right thing and will fix my built in micro/convection oven. After my scheduled call with appeal customer service today February 12 at 11:15 am I will update my review as to how my case was handled.

I pay Choice warranty each month for a provided service which involves replacing a bad appliance when necessary. A technician showed up and I paid the service call for him to tell me the unit was bad. Duh? He left and no one including a case manager has completed my claim or returned my inquiry. I will be not a person to recommend Choice Warranty.

The repair men were great. Professional, knowledgeable and friendly. No problem with them. However, not at all pleased with Choice. Washer needs replacement, but given only half of cost of a comparable replacement. Then, we have to wait up to 30 days for Lowe's gift card? If we get something now, is Lowe's going to make it retroactive? I doubt it. Terrible policy!

This is my first time filing a claim with your agency. The initial step after contacting the company to report the problem I’m experiencing went smoothly. The Operator had listened carefully, verified my contract and was able to contact the company to setup an appointment. This was done in an efficient manner. Technicians are courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Only concern is they are from the IL area. Weather and time impacts scheduling and keeping appointments. When there are additional parts needed, it’s too late to get them that day due to the late appointments. Are there any technicians in the Milwaukee and Waukesha county areas? I would recommend CHW to my friends, but this is a problem.

The sales rep while knowledge, kept asking me why I had not bought coverage sooner. I explained to him I was retired & on a fixed income, he still continued. I appreciated he covered me beginning in April. I just felt he was just wanting to make a sale. I'm 69 years old, most of my adult life (30 years) I was in customer service. This young man needs retraining. I would not have bought coverage from your company if it wasn't for its outstanding reputation.

I've been a customer since January of 2021 and have literally saved thousands of dollars over the cost of the policy. I've gotten a new furnace, hot water heater, dishwasher, A/C repairs - I've lost track of it all. I got a quote of $1200 from a plumber that said I needed new pressure relief valves. I almost signed it, then thought I better check to see if Choice covered it, and they did! I used their plumber, but $75 later I was in business. I'm afraid they're not going to renew me!

I was disappointed when I found out that it would cost me over $500 to replace my water heater. There is nowhere in the Choice contract that such cost is stated or indicated. I have no option but to pay $500+ fee quoted by the plumber. However, I do believe such cost estimates should be stated as a possibility in the contract that I paid $630 for.

After the service guy left, I was told my dishwasher was going to be replaced. To my surprise I was offered $250 for a new dishwasher, but there is no dishwasher available for this price. Plus there is no allowance for the installation, so I'm stuck paying for it all.

I have been waiting for 2 days for a contractor to contact me regarding an appointment to get my garage door checked and fixed. So far no response from CHW or a contractor. Tried tracking my claim, but all I see is the word dispatch. Not sure what that status pertains to? Garage door will not open or close.

I signed with Choice about 1.5 years ago wondering if they were going to easy or difficult and so far, I am very impressed. They have sent great people to fix my HVAC system twice and this most recent time has been like magic. My system is working the best it ever has. They are very easy to make claims with and set up appointments usually the same day or in 24 hours. And the reps on the phone are friendly and efficient. Thank you, Choice and keep up the great work!

My water heater was leaking and not working properly, I made a claim with Choice home warranty everything was quick and handled accordingly through them and my water heater was replaced in no time. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that has has second thoughts on adding an extra warranty on your home. They definitely made this process a lot easier for my wife and I.

Refrigerator control board went out. Filed a claim online. The process was very easy. The GE service tech came out and troubleshooting my refrigerator. He found out that I needed a new control circuit board. He explained to me that he had to order the the control circuit board. When the part came in he came back and replaced the circuit board. The claim process was very easy.

Updated on 03/12/2025: Worst mistake to buy a home warranty from Choice Home Warranty. First claimed they did not cover my hot water heater because it was 80 gallons. BBB got that straightened out. Then once the new water heater was installed I was charged $400 for the installation. When asked why, I was told this was for modifications. There were no modifications done, per the tech doing the work, however to install a new water heater was a modification. Never have I ever experienced such underhanded dealings. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company.
Original Review: My water heater was not working properly and I submitted a claim. Technician came out and said I needed a new water heater 80 gallon and he would advise Choice Home Warranty. I then received an email from the company that said they do not cover water heaters more than 75 gallons per my contract. After reviewing my contract it had no such verbiage that precluded 80 gallon water heaters in Georgia. After pointing this out to the claims team, I was told this was a technical error and they would not cover the water heater, but did offer $150 consolation. My contract, that I bought, said it was covered and I would have to suffer for their technical error. I will not be renewing this policy. I should have been given the claim approval that was in my contract.

Needed to replace broken lightbulb in microwave. Technician was able to do it at initial visit. Bulb located in difficult position to access and was broken with base stuck in socket. Technician was able to come on my schedule. Technician explained why this happened and says it is a problem in many microwave ovens.

Called for claim on Thursday, Feb 6. It is Tuesday, Feb 11 and I still do not have a new water heater. It was approved but had to be ordered. WHY? There are Lowe's and Home Depots here in town. I have a leaky mess all over my garage and it continues. RIDICULOUS!!!

The A/C tech was absolutely superb. He will always be welcome to return to my home. The A/C works perfectly now. The company who was doing the work had to come from far but they were knowledgeable and explained what the problem was and then how they were going to fix it. I never had to get involved in paperwork except to put my claim in. Everything else was done between company and Choice.

Called late yesterday and reported the problems, and was assigned San Antonio Plumbing stating they be here on the 12th. Called the plumbers this date 02-11-2025 and asked if they could send the plumbers sometimes today because of the toilets and was pleasantly accomodated for service between 3 PM and 8PM.

The problem was access in timely manner once the technician arrived and checked out the condition of the appliance at first the technician acted as though there wasn’t anything wrong and couldn’t smell the order from the fire. He was able to get the washer to spin And but not sure if it cycled. Eventually he took off the front of the washer and found that the transmission had been compromised by fire.

Torr was wonderful, got our door working very quickly. I wish I could say the same for Choice, he couldn’t reach Choice to get the okay to fix the door but went ahead and fixed it anyways saying he would just take the loss. Better that than having to make another trip. The last time we had a repair the plumber had to make two trips. One to see what had to be done and the second to do it. No wonder it is so hard for them to find us a plumber now.

I called Moe ** to get a policy for my mother in law and I didn't have enough line of credit to afford the product and I told him so. He then asked if I could do 2 installments and I DIDN'T REPLY because I could not afford the service and was not going to max out my credit card for just half the service cost. Today I find out he went ahead and charged me anyways!! Don't use them, they just want your money, they don't care about you or your financial position. Walking up to almost $700 of new debt is not how I wanted to end my day.

Run away as fast as you can! A total rip off. Submitted claim, thought I was fine. Technician came out and ordered parts to fix our microwave. The parts arrived and the technician came back out to install them (four days later). The technician started to install the parts and then made decision the microwave needed to be replaced. He went out to his truck to fill out his digital paperwork to Choice and then came back in our house to explain what he had done. One minute after he walked in the house, Choice Home Warranty Denied the claim as they said we, my wife and I, had damaged the microwave.
I made three phone calls to representatives at Choice and even appealed the decision. In less than four hours, Choice denied the claim but did offer me $100 as a "good faith" gesture to keep me as a customer. Ripoff! I will report Choice on Ripoff.com. I checked Better Business Bureau and it doesn't recommend Choice Home Warranty. Save your money! Run Away from these crooks as fast as you can. If I had to opportunity to give "0" stars - I would!

I bought this warranty with the expectation that I'd never have to use it. Well, 2 months in & I had to submit a claim for new microwave that suddenly malfunctioned because of defective sensor. The claim was answered in 4 hours & a repair person from Netgroup Appliance Repair was there the next day! He ordered the part & repaired the microwave. Great service!

My garbage disposal was leaking so I filed a claim February the 4th. The very next day, I received an email stating that an appointment had been made with TB Plumbing. The plumbers arrived February 7th to install a new disposal. I was pleasantly surprised at the rapid pace from filing the claim to the actual repair. I've had home warranties before and this one is by far the best one for me!

I no sooner entered my information and was still looking at the website when I received a call. We just had to replace a dryer, microwave and a stove at the same time and I suggested a home warranty program. I've had some experience with other companies in the past. Choice Home Warranty picks and chooses what it wants to cover. Even though it is listed as covered. As soon as my furnace went out all of the sudden it wasn't covered anymore. I went 16 days without a furnace because they kept firing HVAC people. I think there was 5 that was sent. I ended up borrowing money and purchasing one myself because of them. 0 dollars paid. My last plumbing issue they also only covered part of it. Why? I paid good money for this to only cover small things.

I have been a Choice customer since 2018. I have used their claims service a few times for small repairs and was satisfied with the service. I contemplated going elsewhere but most other companies that I inquired about seem to be about the same. Since I am on a fixed income, my concern is that the monthly plan charges and claim fees keep creeping up every year and one day I may need a big repair that they may not cover.

Not pleased with Choice only paying $75 for faucet as I pay for upgrades and thought I would get like or equivalent quality faucet. My washing machine stopped working and I put a claim in and Sam was sent out. Sam was very professional and upfront. He was not able to fix my machine at the time because he had to hear from Choice Warranty first. So choice Warranty said no to repairs and said I could get a gift card for Lowe's for $343. I am grateful for the 343 but now I have no washer for possible up to 30 days. Plus I will need to add money to buy a washer from Lowe's.

The problem seems to be corrected. The tech did provide a written receipt for $60 after I paid him. He only tighten the nuts around the pipes. However, he did not installed new washers, during the service. He was very professional and knowledgeable about the problem. He checked the garbage disposal and the pipes for leaks. Water was ran through the pipes and no leaks was found at the time of service.

The tech arrived on time. He determined that a micro switch was defective. He removed and replaced the switch and that stopped the exhaust fan from operating each time the door was opened. The actual door itself was another problem with the glass face loose in the door. He said he would report that to either have the door replaced or the entire unit as the door repair is expensive. I'm waiting for that decision.

Other companies I have dealt with charge their customers a monthly surcharge for their services. If you have a claim then there is a service fee of the policy. Once you pay all that, the contractor come to assess the problem most time fix the problem or replace the problem. But never have I ever had to pay an additional fee to fix the problem. That should be included in my monthly service fee or the service call fee. So I'm very unsatisfied with your company policies. I think you need to Reassess your policies because you have lost this consumer. Please don't respond to this email of "Sorry to hear your unsatisfactory of our policies because your feedback matter." Having Choice Home Warranty service on hand when an urgent home maintenance issue occurs is comforting. My main refrigerator gave out, and as soon as I submitted a maintenance request and was put into contact with a professional technician in my area of town, it was less than a few hours. A qualified professional technician from Whirlpool came out and quickly assessed the issue, repaired my refrigerator, explained the issue and left us very satisfied with his work.

Bivens Heating and Air came out to inspect my furnace and knew right away what the issue. He ordered the part and came out a few days later. In less than an hour the heater was up and running. I would highly recommend the heat/air technician. As for Choice Home Warranty they were awesome. I've had other home warranty companies and by far, Choice is the best!

After being with this company for at least four years paying 500 and something a year or more for home warranty never have used it until recently when my garage door stopped working. The tech they found to come out and look at. It was awesome. Great gentleman paid him $75 and he got a thing back from you folks home warranty stating that he couldn’t fix my garage door because it wasn’t covered garage door wasn’t broke. It just needed to be readjusted for starting stop points after all this money and all this time this is how I am treated. I will no longer recommend this company to anyone and I’m very very disappointed in the service.

It might be 5 stars if the initial replacement offer was a little more generous (only about half the cost of a basic model--apparently we don't agree on the meaning of replacement). HOWEVER, I have contacted Choice Home Warranty 3 times because of an error with my Service Address (NOT contact address). Actually both addresses are the same. According to my profile, my service address is in FLANDERS, NY. The street address is correct. Unfortunately, there is no such street address in Flanders! I've brought that to their attention 3 times so far and I have received NO response or correction. My Service Address (as is my contact address) is RIVERHEAD, NY. So far, a repair person has made it to my home without incident. But until this is corrected, I'm still waiting for a problem. I have no idea where the FLANDERS town ever came from. I never listed my address as being there.

First visit the tech replaced the igniter. Heat worked for less than 60 days. Contacted Choice & was informed that the 30 day window had lapsed & therefore the tech visit will cost an additional $75. I was not pleased & spoke with the next person up the chain. $75 was waived. Thanks again Choice.

After submitting the ticket through the Choice Home Warranty portal. An appointment was created; then changed to an earlier time. The refrigerator tech arrived on time as scheduled. He promptly diagnosed the cooling problem and then proceeded to repair the ice buildup around the coils and resolved the cooling problem in the same visit - I am highly satisfied!

Filed a claim regarding our HVAC system. Was initially denied the claim and then had someone come to examine the equipment. It is in need of replacement due to 19 years of use. The AC side of the unit is badly rusted and the outside condensers use Freon for cooling, which is being phased out of use. I was hoping that the warranty would at least offer some funds to help with this situation. I am not sure that Choice Warranty is in the business of serving their clients as much as taking their money and then making it very difficult to use the services promised! I would not recommend you to anyone!

Our dishwasher stopped working. Wouldn't turn on and seem to be fully dead. We called Choice Home Warranty after having purchased a contract with them a couple years ago. Called for an assessment since our furnace is 23 years old. We have a maintenance plan that is bi-annual to ensure our heating/ air conditioning system is functioning properly. The past two years have been extremely worrisome because the unit is showing significant signs of deterioration. I was that was able repairman to diagnose the problem. The part for my washer they discontinued. Choice offered and accepted a cash to replace. However, there's 30 delay to payment. I wasn't happy with company policy. Had it been my refrigerator, and no funds replace. No refrigerator for 30 days. I wasn't informed about the policy, it could in fine print. Choice had a repair company lined up and scheduled to come out to my house the day after I submitted a claim to them. The repairman was knowledgeable and efficient, explained what was wrong and what parts needed to be replaced. When Choice approved purchase of the parts, he updated me. When he new an ETA for the parts, he updated me.

My heater went out on a very cold day. I called CH & they had someone out that afternoon. Got me all fixed up. But an hour later it was cold & not working. It was after 5:00. But the nice lady who helped me said couldn’t get anyone tonight. Ok! I understand. Next day they called me & came out & found out the problem. But had to be ordered the part. So they did & by end of week all fixed & I had heat. Everyone was very nice & my serviceman was very nice. Really everyone I spoke with did everything they could. Choice Home Warranty is nothing more than a massive fraud masquerading as a company. They'll gladly take your money, but when it comes time to get work done, you'll be lucky even to get a technician to your house. The technicians who will work with them are the absolute worst because not only do they not pay claims, they don't pay the technicians and reputable ones won't work with them. If you have a dispute, they force you into arbitration, which costs a couple hundred bucks, plus your time and headache. Read the BBB complaints; there's a reason they have thousands of them. Visit the Facebook group, "Choice Home Warranty Unresolved Problems", review the legal actions taken by attorneys general. Save yourself the headache; whatever the warranty costs per year, set that money aside for repair costs because you'll be paying them yourself anyway.

CHW is a total SCAM! I have unfortunately been a victim. As a first-time home buyer, I fell in and purchased this warranty. I filed a claim for a broken kitchen appliance. First, it took 2 weeks for the company to get a repair guy to come down and then we had to pay the service fee once he came down. Then he filed a report that the appliance was broken and needed replacement. Ever since CHW has been fighting tooth and nail to save themselves from fixing the appliance that was broken. Claiming it wasn't completely broken, or that it's not covered under their policy and other such baloney.
They kept hanging up on me claiming that they took care of the issue and nothing was broken. Not to mention that the repair guy told me even if they would agree to repair it it would be the cheapest and easiest fix. Not quality at all. They do not care about my appliances or anything at all. They do not care about my satisfaction or their customers' appliances. They are a business in it for themselves just to make money. Please, don't lose money and fall for them! Find another company or get a warranty through the appliance company directly. This is a real review and I regret giving them any money. Please, spare yourself the agony of dealing with them! They are and were horrible and I wish they go bankrupt. So mean how they rip you off....

The service technician called on the day of service to inform me of his status and expected arrival time. He arrived early, was very personable, and got to work. He shared tips, explained through demonstration what the issue was, and offered solutions to reduce the possibility of a recurrence. This was frigid weather so my experience was not unique. Overall, he was great. I would recommend to a friend and utilize again.

After filing a claim for pipe leak in hall ceiling on 12-20-24, they after calling every week to find out what the status is, they finally refused my claim. Today is 2-6-25. I have a large cut in my ceiling waiting for someone to replace my pipes. Their plumber in December stated that I had rust and the problem was in my basement. NO, it is in my hall between the family room and dining room, the so called rust are tiny purple spots on the pipes that are about to leak.
I paid $400 for a 1 year policy in early November. I demanded a refund, I'm getting $152 after their fees. Their customer service is in some foreign country where they speak poor English. You don't understand them, and they don't understand you. They read talking points so quickly and poorly that you have no idea what the hell they just said. Buyer BEWARE

It was very easy for me to file a claim. I received a response in an acceptable amount of time with the name of a contractor. The contractor arrived as promised and did a very good job identifying the problem and contact you with the results. Even though I am still without heat, I feel certain that as soon as parts arrive and it can be rescheduled, it will be taken care of. I am so grateful to be a member of this warranty program and will definitely renew!

I was scammed out of $670 reimbursement for replacing a high ceiling fan. Quotes approved in writing by Choice Warranty/Reliance/Rely home, but told contractors they had to sign long term contracts to do work way under market rates. Went through 3 months and 4 vendors. Choice scheduled Always LLC & Odinson Electric as their supposed contractors. (They in fact did not have contracts with them but were hoping to use my job to get the contracts) Both declined to sign directly with Choice/Rely/Reliance as they pay well below market wage. No inexperienced (2 came to look and the job & declined).
Finally told by Choice Representative to go by way of reimbursement route with Odinson (who they Originally under the name of Reliance sent to me as their approved Contractor). I’m disabled and my health was being severely affected and I needed to have the light & ventilation from the fan and started this process in Aug. Did everything they asked. I’m a veteran disabled female senior just hit by the hurricanes and live on disability. I’ve stayed in touch to get reimbursed in Oct, Nov, Dec and Jan with different excuses each time but myself and the vendor with a witness directly input the claim that I had already filed and spoken about with Choice/Reliance/Rely.
Yesterday 4 months later said the most they will reimburse is $170 take it or leave it. I will have to go to AAA arbitration NJ. Easy to scam a disabled elderly senior and female veteran of 19 years. That money is the difference between for food or med care. Spoke to Patricia who says there is no one more senior in the company. She never even reviewed all the documentation. She says just because we approved in writing the repair on one day with a vendor doesn’t approve it with the new vendor they sent me??? The woman on the phone on 10/24/24 (installation and claim filing date) said differently.
Followed all guidance with operator and contract meticulously. Patricia just literally literally said yesterday and the day prior it’s $170 or nothing. The contract with Choice says if a vendor cannot be located that we can use reimbursement which will take 30 days. The websites say they’re number 1. There are almost 12000 similar claims. I’m having to contact a lawyer now to see if I’m stuck in the contract and see how I can get assistance from the government, Dept of Insurance, VA, or Elderly abuse to help with doing an arbitration claim which will probably more than $100 to even file. Can anyone help me get my reimbursement?

There is an issue with a control board in our furnace. The technician came out last Friday and said he would look for the board locally and get back to me. He texted me Sunday and said they had a part they would order from Michigan because there’s nothing locally. Several days went by and my house is cold. I talked to him Wednesday and he said he ordered the part on Saturday from a company in California which is not what he said Sunday. It’s Thursday and he still hasn’t fixed the problem and they still haven’t gotten the part. I’m extremely disappointed.

I've been with Choice Home Warranty for several years now, and they've consistently addressed any issues we've encountered efficiently with reputable companies handling the repairs. There was one instance when they couldn't fix our fridge, so they decided it needed replacement. They sent me a check for the replacement cost, allowing me to choose a new fridge. My only complaint is that the replacement price they offer doesn't fully cover the cost of a new item, but it does cover a significant portion. However, I believe this is standard practice for home warranty programs, and my experience with other companies in the past has been unsatisfactory. I would and do recommend Choice Home Warranty."

My carbon monoxide detector went off and the fire department determined the problem was the stove. I reported to Choice. They promptly dispatched a tech from Bodewell Appliance. He determined after testing there wrong with stove. I had been using the stove a lot coupled with the sensitive detector. He also gave a tip that when the tips of the flames are all orange then there a problem. Very satisfied with the service and outcome.

Freezer / ice maker not working. Refrigerator/ freezing vegetables Need to replace Filters in refrigerator, and outside of refrigerator, also have reverse osmosis. Water sistema and also need to replace filters. Had the water tested by City of Chandler, and the results were not good at all!! When we First bought the refrigerator it worked Great with all Filters. So Will Be doing the Clean up of Filters and go From there. Will inform Choice Warranty of the Outcome.

It took two days to find someone to come out and fix our thermostat and they were able to come out and diagnose, test, verify, and educate me. We ended up needing to replace the thermostat which I wanted to do anyway as it was an older piece of equipment.

I had a leak with an older luxury series Koehler toilet. CHW had a repair person come out within 24 hours. A part was needed and the repair person continuously kept me updated on its status. CHW but especially the knowledge and expertise of the repair person Ivan from Innovative Plumbing Solutions, exceeded all of my expectations. In the past I had American Home whose actions clearly showed that customers do not matter (read their reviews). I own multiple homes and have them covered by Choice Home Warranty.

Unable to get someone to speak to. After several calls a person answered said he will transfer me and then the line got disconnected. I tried to call back. Was unable to get my call through. I filed a new claim for my furnace online but there was no follow up call from Choice. I did not get a technician until Tuesday. Thank goodness we had space heaters. I think there should be better communication for the customers especially if the problem is a big concern for the customer.

It took 6 days to get it fixed, I called on 1/30, I received my appointment on 2/3, and the heater was fixed on 2/5, but I had to call Choice Warranty to expedite the approval for the technician, and we had no heat, I just felt choice could have approved this claim a little faster, but good job on repair by technician.

Machine was shaking during the spin cycle. Repairman called in morning with estimated arrival time. He called 15 minutes before scheduled arrival time. He was very pleasant and thorough. It was a simple fix and just needed to adjust front level feet. It was a quick and short repair. Area was left neat and clean.

I called to have an emergency light repair or replaced because it stopped working properly. The claim was denied on the basis that the cause of the problem was not wear and tear. The emergency light has been installed for over 20 years, and its failure to operate could not have been caused by anything but the passage of time. When I appealed, I was told, it was not covered because of the way it was diagnosed. The entire experience was frustrating and inconsistent with the reason why I purchased this and policy for two other properties.

My furnace suddenly stopped working late yesterday and I called you early this morning because it was very cold in our house and had a very hard time sleeping. I called to follow up on my claim a few hours later because it was still pending to dispatch and was told that they don’t provide emergency service and it could take up to 24 hrs, I requested to speak to a supervisor and the representative refused because she said the supervisor would tell me the same thing.

Worst experience ever. Don't buy Choice Home Warranty. I been their customer for more than 10 years. They handle small claims but anything above $500 they handle it measurably or don't want to pay. For warranty, monthly I am paying more $107. You are better off with your local repair guy. I filed the claim for hot water tank leaking. It's an emergency situation during winter time in New Jersey. They sub contracted my claim to another company Blum Inc which is similar to choice home warranty who then sent someone else to look at the job three days after the initial claim was filed. They said they will submit the report same day. However after multiple attempts by me to ask them to send the report quickly Blum said they need 24 hours to send the report.
I found out that Choice home warranty then wanted to take one more day to review the claim. After the claim is approved, Blum said they would need three days to get the job done. So overall including weekends this job would have been done no less than 10 days. They don't understand how to handle the claim based on situation. My local guy said he will get the job done in one day. Choice home warranty wanted to give me $200 towards the claim in lieu of getting the job done I rejected. I will be seeking legal advise instead.

The tech explained to me what was wrong and he had the part in his truck. It took him only 10 minutes to complete the work. The repairman came in my kitchen, asked for an $85.00 service fee, claimed he had received a phone call from his girlfriend that his baby was being born and said he would return on Monday to finish the repair. Received an email from Choice that the service had been approved followed by another email that the service was disapproved but I could not receive my $85.00 refund. I could never recommend this company for anything. I feel I have been scammed.

Nowhere in your contract does it state for every request on the same day that you’re charged $100 for each service request. I called in for two items for repair, paid the hundred dollars per my contract and then was told I had to pay an additional hundred dollars to have my refrigerator looked at and nowhere in my contract did I find where it says I have to pay $100 per item. It says my deductible for service is $100 so you all are scamming people.

I was a little disappointed in the service scheduling from the provider/contractor. They didn't call to schedule their service call; they simply sent an email giving me a day & timeframe, and luckily it worked for my schedule. That being said, the provider/contractor called 30 minutes before his arrival, and within the time window they provided. Service was friendly, fast and clean.

After I purchased the product it became a hard sell. They wanted me to buy a security system. I told them I had one then they wanted to sell me cameras. I told them I had them. The next day another phone call, once again they started hard sell on security system and cameras. The guy on the phone was rude and was yelling as I had told him numerous times I wanted nothing else to stop. I almost just told him to cancel the order. Please stop the phone calls.

I started this home warranty two months ago. I called them for a fan that was giving me trouble. They denied my claim because the remote was missing even though the fan used to operate with the wall switch. They also denied my fan saying that it was a Casablanca fan and that since it had a warranty, it would not qualify to be under the home warranty. But Casablanca is no longer in existence and so there is no warranty on this fan. Also, they said that the fan's flywheel was defective and therefore, if a part on the fan is defective, then it is also not covered.
Well, how does a fan break down unless a part becomes defective? I canceled this warranty immediately since they took my hundred dollar fee to come out but basically try to get out of it any way they could to cover the fan. I've had a home warranty with another company for 30 years and never had an issue and the only reason I changed was because Choice Home Warranty was lower in price. Big mistake!

DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY!!! You CANNOT pick your own tech. The tech they pick may not even show up, then lie about it. IF they show up, they may or may not fix your problem. If they need to order parts, good luck. You personally have to stay on top of the tech until they file a report for your repair if the problem isn't fixed. IF the tech submits a report, odds are good it's going to be conveniently (for CHW) misplaced. You'd rather spend time talking to tele-marketers and debt collectors than speak with their "customer service." They will do everything in their power - including outright refusal - to prevent paying for things clearly under coverage.

Dryer was making an unusual noise. Choice sent a tech from Converse appliance repair. Tech was courteous and explained what he thought the problem was. He inspected the dryer and tested the inner drum and found the reason for the noise. He fixed it and stated that if the problem repeats he will come back again. Excellent service.

I have been a Choice Home Warranty customer for several years. I am on my third claim during my time with CHW. They are always quick to respond and the technicians they send out are always professional. I will continue to be a customer of CHW. They have serviced my AC and replaced my refrigerator. Also, I have a pool. CHW is one of the only companies who cover swimming pools. This alone is worth the plan if you are a pool owner.

HONOLULU APPLIANCE REPAIR 10 star. Easy communication, showed up on time, provided diagnosis. Recommend Honolulu Appliance Repair. CHW 0 star (dishwasher claim). CHW denied claim deeming abuse neglect is inaccurate. Initial claim was dishwasher handle had a crack due to age. By the time CHW found a vendor handle plastic broke off. DUE TO AGE, CHW called vendor and he clarified damage was age related
