    My toilet was running and I was pleased to find out it was covered. I put in an order but the company that responded to the Choice folks wasn't willing to fix it for 1 and a half weeks. Knowing that would crush my water bill I called Choice to get another company. I was told that was the plumber that responded. I told them to transfer me to someone who could cancel my contract. They connected me to a rep who clearly understood the issue and told me he would get someone else, within 48 hours I had a great plumber come out and it was a quick and easy fix.     Install a new garage door opener. It took about 2 hours to install it. I think the technician who installed the garage door needs to come back cause, when I’m outside and tried to closed it, it doesn’t close all the way. I have to do it again (press the remote control) just to close it.

    I have had this plan for 1.5 months. My experience with their service was awful. The technician did not arrive on the scheduled time. I was reassured he would be there that day and he did not come. I was told by Choice Home Warranty he'd be there the next day, as well as by the technician, and I was waiting the whole day again for someone who never came. I called Choice Home Warranty to get another technician assigned as I wasted two days waiting for someone. They put out a new dispatch request and who is reassigned - the same technician. They told me they sent me emails that I could work with a plumber I knew and submit a claim.

    Of course, I never received the email from them and it is not in my spam folder. I didn't want to use someone I knew, because I read that they fail to pay claims. I decided to cancel my plan due to their awful service. I was told there would be a cancellation fee, and I already had a month of their service - so they deducted 100 dollars for their crap service. My experience is that they are happy to grab your money, even though they don't have quality people to do the job. Do not use this company.

    We had a problem with our gas cooktop not starting. It would sit and click for anywhere from 30 seconds to just over a minute before the flame would start. They sent over a "handyman" to fix it. He told us the problem was that we had air in the gas lines. We paid him and he was on his way. Two days later, the problem was back. I asked a friend who is a plumber about what he thought. He said that was not the problem. It was most likely a problem with the unit itself. I didn't trust them to repair it, so I had someone else repair it.

    At the end of our contract, I was called at least 20 times by representatives from this company asking if I would renew. I told them all that I was not interested. One lady tole me that I could switch from a one time payment to a monthly installment. I clearly said no MANY times. Several months later, I was checking my bank statement and found a charge I did not recognize. It turned out that lady had set it up even though I had repeatedly told her I did not want to work with this company anymore. When I called customer service, I was told that they would stop the payments, but, since I had waited months to contact them, they would not give me a refund for the service even though I did not request it. That is bad business.

    This Home Warranty is the worse one I have ever had. Upset because the one did not cover my HVAC in my RV garage because it was not attached to my house. Choice Home Warranty will let a contractor come to my house, pay $100 work on my microwave/oven. Get lost on the repair and take it to their shop for more look and find out parts needed. Contractor can not be found and have made dozen phone calls to them and Choice about my microwave/oven. I am still waiting for a response on what they can do to replace what got taken out. I have it on video and they will pay me $170 for a new one. This microwave/oven cost way more than 170 and they can’t do what needs to be done.

    This is absolutely the worst home warranty company I have ever dealt with. I filed a claim on my washer and finally after three months of waiting, they have offered me a settlement, which is about half of what it cost to replace my washer. Now I have to wait another 30 days to get that settlement. To make matters worse, the customer service agents are all overseas and have a difficult time interpreting English. This has been the most frustrating experience of any business I've ever dealt with. I do not recommend them at all!

    Had an septic issue, CHW contracted with a septic co. to look at the issue. The septic co. said the tank needed to be pumped (we had it done in 2023). Our issue is the septic rep never came out., Our claim was denied. We talked to the septic co and CHW telling both the tech never came out so how could he make that determination. We were told that he checked off that he was at the home, which he wasn't. We contacted ourselves another septic co. They discovered our drain basin was dry, and our pump had stopped working. They replaced the pump (and also a malfunctioning alarm box), cost was $3810, that we paid.

    We once again contacted CHW and we were instructed to submit an appeal. That was denied. They finally did admit that the tech had lied about ever coming to the home. But CHW doesn't reimburse for work already done. We would have never call the 2nd company if the 1st tech had come out and CHW had not insisted he had been there. We will be leaving CHW when our contract is up.

    DO NOT under any circumstances, pay for this service. They refused to make a repair to our refrigerator, even though the written contract SPECIFICALLY lists it as a covered repair. Also, we spent over $1,000 on a dishwasher that was damaged by their service provider. We paid over $1300 for a service contract with Choice, which provided no service, or bad service. Save your money and aggravation.

    Hello my name is Oscar ** and I live in Bakersfield California, around April 2024 I purchased Choice Home Warranty, by May or June I placed a claim for my sprinklers to get fixed, so I called them and they sent this plumber to inspect, and I had to pay $100 for this guy to inspect and he left, then I got a call from Choice requesting that I pay $250 for the guy to fix it.

    I refused to pay on the premise that when you buy this type of warranty you are not supposed to pay more than the $100 copayment, then on around November 2024 I call them back to cancel my policy and get back the remaining of the money left (about 6 months). They told me that there were no refunds to be made, and that they paid the "plumber" some money for "fixing" my sprinklers, something that never happened. What kind of providers these company have? They are thieves. DO NOT BUY CHOICE HOME WARRANTY! They are so cynical that today they called me asking if I wanted to renew my policy...what a joke. I'm a real customer and I can be reached at **.

    I waited from 2/10/2024 until 3/8/2024 for CHW to find and dispatch a technician to fix my water heater. I am 78 years of age and having to heat water on the stove to take a sponge bath was inconvenient and unsafe. CHW was speedy in offering me the option of me finding a provider and paying to have the work done after which they would reimburse me for any "approved" work that was done.     A bogus company that focuses on denying claims on a big ticket item. I had a leak in the hot water heater and Choice was unable to to provide a tech in my area. I was told to get my own and was only compensated $690 on a $2500 purchase on a new tank. The company provided Choice with a detailed breakdown of the charges and Choice still would not compensate me. Their staff is not helpful either. It clearly states that a hot water heater is covered in the policy but when a partition tech is not available, you are screwed. Let the buyer beware. Do not use this company. In fact, if I could give Choice zero stars, I would do so. Stay away from from Choice. It is a horrible company to select to do a necessary repair.

    This is the WORST experience I’ve ever had with a warranty company. After days of waiting for repairs, they denied my claim to the plumber!! I just had a call with them regarding my complaint and basically got told this is how we are and this is what we do. They got my $85 upfront and then denied the claim. I can’t even get my money back for the down payment, and we had to pay the total cost out of our own pocket Steer clear of choice home warranty, their customer service is rude at best. If the warranty says it will pay for 100 feet of sewer clean out they should at least cover that much and then the customer pay the difference run from these people and keep your money.

    1. Hard to understand representative. (Language difficulties and accent.)
    2. I needed someone the next day and they asked me if a one day delay was ok. I said yes to the 1 day delay and Saturday was alright. When called by the garage door people that were assigned they said it would be Monday that they did not work on Saturday. I called Choice Warranty back and they said they will cancel them and reassign. The new company came the next day which was Friday. On Saturday a company knocked on our door to fix our garage door. I told them that it was fixed yesterday. Choice told me they had canceled them.

    I filed a claim with Choice warranty about my 11-year-old water heater that stopped working. When I first spoke to the REPAIR man on the phone, he said there were a number of parts that would have to be replaced, and his recommendation would be, because it was 11 years old, to replace the water heater. The person in charge at the Plumbing company told me the same thing and said that she had recommended to Choice warranty to replace the water heater. However, Choice warranty, pointed the finger at the vendor and said that they said they would replace the parts instead.

    I had heard that this is how warranty companies work, that they do everything in their power to not replace a unit and instead put Band-Aids on it and then hope you’ll new the warranty.     The plumber was very professional, worked hard and fast. Got started soon as she got to my house.. She also had everything set up so it was easy to make my payment. However I’m trying to understand the process because I cannot afford to pay $85 for every single issue. For example not only was my sink stopped up.     PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are basically a SCAM. Even if you pay more elsewhere, they will not screw you over when a part breaks and they deny your claim because "This Agreement does not cover routine maintenance or malfunction due to misuse, abuse, neglect, or physical damage..." and they get to change the definition of "normal wear and tear".     Over time Our GDO was working inconsistently and finally stopped working altogether. I contacted “Choice” and a W.O. Was issued. I was then contacted by a local technician with an appointment date and time. The technician suggested we probably have a broken spring. He was correct. One spring above the garage door had broken. The technician arrived on time for the appointment and dismantled the parts necessary to remove the springs. After inspection, I the technician recommended replacing the bearings, which I agreed to.

    When the springs were installed and the disassembled parts were reinstalled. The GDO opened and closed as it should. I had LED bulbs in the light on the GDO. The technician told me that those bulbs could interfere with the opener operation frequency and recommended that they be replaced with incandescent bulbs. I took that advice.     The technicians Demetrius and Allen are skilled in troubleshooting and installation of the many ordered parts. It took 3 trips and 2 sets of parts to get my microwave working. I especially appreciate the friendliness and respect Demetrius showed when explaining about the microwave as well as general conversation. I believe it would have been cheaper and more expedient to have simply replaced the microwave since it took about 3 to 4 weeks to fix, but probably Choice would not have covered the purchase of a unit of equal quality.     This warranty service used to be very good but now in the last year or so I have encountered a lot of issues. They don’t seem to care about my issue. My toilets were both clogged and couldn’t use them. They said they didn’t do emergency issues so I had to wait until Monday, and it took 24 hours to get an OK to proceed.     I signed up for a three year warranty plan on Monday, March 2. The gentleman with whom I worked was very kind and seemed knowledgeable. Since Monday, however, I have received more than one phone call each day ostensibly to verify my contact information, but in reality, trying to sell me the ADT home protection plan. Each time I have declined the plan and asked to not be contacted about ADT again. The calls continue!. Today, I had a call at approximately 6 AM my time from a woman named Brittany. I told her I was in a different time zone which she could clearly see because she wanted to verify my Nevada address. She was persistent, rude, and bordering on obnoxious in her pursuit of selling me the ADT plan. Eventually, I hung up the phone.

    If this is the kind of service for which I have signed up and the kind of representatives employed by your company, I am very concerned about the quality of service that I may need in the future. I have tried First Premier and American Home plans both of which were horrible in terms of helping with appliances that needed service or replacement.. I had better hopes for this company.     We had Choice 5 years ago and it was fine, needed it once. Here in WV restarted it a few months ago and 2 weeks ago noticed a sewer smell. Had somebody go under the house and the Y in the pipe is either cracked or loose. Called them on 02/26 and no answer, left message, no call back. Called the next afternoon and they said they would get it to the scheduler. Didn't hear anything from Friday to today, Tuesday. Got an email to do it ourselves but we would have to pay the service fee (each time) and submit an estimate to see if they would approve.

    I put in a claim with Choice Warranty to send a technician to fix an issue with my lights that happened after a storm and power failure. I was told by the technician that they are only allotted 1 hour to diagnose an issue and if they cannot find it within that time they have to request additional time but they almost never get approval. In this case it was denied so I filed an appeal. I had a conversation with a very rude case manager, who spoke to me like I was an imbecile and was told that they would not approve additional hours for the diagnosis or repair because the issue happened outside of the house. I asked was that because it was a storm that caused the issue it is not covered. He just kept repeating himself and saying, "Let me break it down for you or let me say it again" which is very demeaning but he never explained or really answered the question.

    So I guess if it is an act of God it is not covered and you will have to pay out of pocket to get the issue diagnosed if it takes the technician more than an hour. I have used a different warranty company in the past and they were much better. They fixed every issue I had and didn't have a time limit. I switched to Choice because it fit in my budget better but now I am rethinking my choice to go with Choice. I may just go back to the other company.

    They denied 2 services, garbage disposal went bad and they would not cover the same one but a cheaper one and they said it was an upgrade for me, how is that even an upgrade, a different one garbage disposal would of need new plumbing and pay more, either way I ended paying extra. No savings, no point in having warranty. The other the dishwasher they didn't cover because it has a preexisting condition and the tub burn out and they wouldn't cover it because we got the warranty not too long ago. Schedule appointment with claims specialist and they don't call you back, and they hang up on you. Worse customer service. I had 2 warranties and never did a claim on the other one ever, just canceled both. Forget this company.
