    These people are absolute crooks. They told me to select an HVAC company because they could not find one. The HVAC company followed choices procedures and told me to have the repairs completed.     Tech did great at explaining the issue. He was fast in his service. He explained that if the issue continued it was more than likely the thermostat needed replacing. He took the time to check the outside unit and verified all was running normal. He switched the damaged part and then tested the unit and waited to see that it was going to work normal in the future. I would recommend the tech for ac repairs and also would tell relatives about Choice Home Warranty and how they do work and helped me with my ac repair.     Claim placed 2/27/25, 1st Vendor (Nelson Appliance) assigned without being contacted - found info on Choice site showing appointment for 3/8 11-3 pm. Called contact number 3/5 for Nelson Appliance, left voicemail asking for call-back to confirm appointment - received no response. Called again day of appt just after time window to see if they were coming. No response. Complained to Choice who found a 2nd vendor Memarkable and set up appt for 3/13, Patrick arrived during appt window and diagnosed the problem as needing a relay board, which he then ordered with expected date in about a week.

    Called week later to check on part (3/20), said they'd call back with info but received no call and I called back next day and was informed part had arrived and on truck and could install that same day. Patrick did arrive (after yet another call to him to confirm) and replaced part whch fixed this problem. So 3 weeks to resolve this problem. Patrick did a great job 5*s. Just not happy with the 1st vendor and communication delays and failing to be kept informed.

    This company is the WORST. Two parts failed on my AC (contactor and control board) and Choice denied my claim (twice- long story) saying both companies needed to do a "wire tracing" which is not covered. What a terrible experience. Additionally, during the first claim, they offered me $300 towards the $1400 repair. I declined and said I wanted both failed parts replaced and covered. On the 2nd claim, they denied me again, and when I asked about if the $300 was still on the table, they said NO. NEVER again will I deal with a piece of garbage company that looks to deny claims. Parts go bad all the time. That's why I got the warranty in the first place. What a joke.

    I wanted a warranty to cover when things go wrong. Some of my belongings are getting somewhat older so I wanted protection. My washer started making a loud noise so I submitted a claim. The technician recommended the bearings be replaced. Choice warranty let me know that they would only give me $547 (Lowe’s gift card) for a new washer. When I signed up for the coverage, I was told that if a new item was recommended by a technician, that I would get a new comparable make-model. Also, that it would not be a prorated amount. My washer is a front loading Maytag washer and was expensive when I bought it. Looking at Lowe’s website, front loading washers start at $800 and end at $2300. I was given nowhere near what I should have been.

This company finds every loophole to deny the claims and you still have to pay the $100 service fee. No thanks! We switched back to American Home Shield and are so thankful.     Heater failed to work last December 2024. Mechanical company showed up and said the input and output vents have the wrong size. Another time ARS AC showed up and said there’s nothing wrong with the installation design. It was the gas valve. I called CHW and they sent One Stop Company. They contacted me by email and said they were looking for a service provider. Then late afternoon on 18 Apr they sent me a message saying I could use the reimbursement process.     I had several claims before with Choice Home Warranty, and from our experience it’s a hit or miss thing. Sometimes they are quick to get a provider out there to service whatever the issue is, and the majority of the technicians they sent out were really good. But sometimes it’s like pulling teeth and it can be a little frustrating. Their process is they first try to find someone to help you, and if they can’t find anyone, they’ll offer for you to find someone yourself.

    But you can't find someone yourself until they basically approve you to, and then they have to approve the work that's done. It just can be convoluted. Also, you have to actually be on-site with the service provider because you have to pay the fee there. So it's not like you can just send a provider there to your location and they do the work. You gotta be there to pay the provider.

    One time, I had to replace an AC unit. It upset me because Choice wanted the provider they sent out to do some test, and the provider said he didn’t need to do a test because he had an instrument that was showing some bubbles in the AC unit.

    So I went ahead and told the provider to do the service. But Choice would not reimburse me because they said I needed to get permission from them first. The provider didn’t wanna do the test, and I was just like, “Okay, that all sounds good in theory, but I have a tenant in the house freezing.”

    The price for the service also went up last year and they didn’t even notify me that it was going up. I just saw the bill change. It went up to $84, and before it was $75. If they go up again, I’m gonna change companies.

    I submitted a claim because my AC unit didn't come on the first time using it after the unseasonably warm temps. The appt was scheduled for Wednesday 3/18 but the company that accepted the job was a NO CALL/NO SHOW. I notified CHW about what happened and another vendor accepted the job with a 3/21 appt. Because he finished a prior job early on 3/18, he called me to say he could service my unit that day instead of waiting til Friday. Kevin agreed to meet me at my home at 4:30 because I advised him that I was en route to pick up my elderly Mom. He arrive promptly, assessed the issue and even explained what was going on in layman's terms. He got the unit running and informed me that it had a leak and the safety switch was faulty so he had to turn it off for the AC to keep runninĺg. He further stated that he would included that in his notes because he wasn't sure if it was covered.

    Fast forward to Thursday 3/20 evening when I arrived home from work, the temps had drop drastically so I had to switch from AC to heat but the heat didn't come on. I immediately reached out to the tech about the matter and his response was that he didn't work on the heat, which I knew but I wonder if the issue was due to the switch being turned off.

    Friday, 3/31 I put a message in my CHW portal about the heat and the response was that my claim was approved and I should submit a new claim. I vehemently refused to do that or pay another service fee based on the concerns the tech raised about the unit. I was told at 3PM on 3/21 to be on the lookout for a call/text/email from CHW and/or the tech. It is now 6:31 pm and I have NOT heard from anyone. It's interesting how CHW consistently drafts the monthly warranty fee but are not as diligent with vetting the companies they subcontract with or acting swiftly to resolve matters of this or a similar nature...VERY disappointed!

    I'm getting good cost from Choice Home Warranty. We wanted to look into that option while getting started in our new home, and our real estate agent made the recommendation. What I like most is the number of things Choice will cover to send a technician out for.

    It's been a few years, and the experience is mostly pretty good, but the one with our water heater could have been better. The technician who came out recommended a replacement, but Choice denied it, saying we had to completely drain the tanks, and we had, so it got escalated. Eventually, Choice did replace it, but the process was a little frustrating.

    Most recently, I had a washer issue, and the person rescheduled suddenly, so it's another week out. I don't love that. We'll have to see how that goes when they get here and evaluate the situation.

    Other than that, it's been useful for us. It’s easy to get in touch with an actual representative. The quality of the contractors is on and off, probably a B+ on a grading scale. Choice needs to improve on validating the good companies to come out and repair the issue.

    I had an awful experience with Choice Home Warranty, and I strongly advise everyone to stay away from this company. When my garage door opener stopped working, I filed a claim expecting them to honor their so-called “coverage.” Instead, they refused to cover the repair, proving that their warranty is useless when you actually need it.

    The technician from Home Depot confirmed that the issue was with the garage opener, so I had to pay out of pocket for a new one and the installation. I submitted both the receipt for the new garage opener and the installation costs to Choice Home Warranty, but they still refused to reimburse me. Latasha from customer service was extremely incompetent and unprofessional—she not only mishandled the issue but also refused to let me speak to her supervisor. When I asked why my claim was denied, she told me, “We don’t cover something that breaks on its own.” Really? What exactly do they cover then? According to her, they only cover things that are still working—which makes absolutely no sense.

    To make matters worse, their online portal is a joke. I uploaded my documents multiple times, and despite getting a “successful upload” confirmation, the documents never actually went through. I had to email them separately, only for all my efforts to be completely wasted. Choice Home Warranty is a complete scam! They lure you in with low prices, but when it comes time to actually repair or replace something, they will do everything in their power to deny your claim. Save yourself the headache and go with a reputable warranty provider—this company is nothing but a money grab. Avoid at all costs!

    Do NOT choose Choice. I previously had AHS, and wanted to go with a higher rated company. I've had 2 claims in the 2.5 years I've been with them, and both were handled horribly. The first claim took 2 months to resolve, and this claim is still open but it's been open over 3 months. Choice randomly reassigns technicians/companies in the middle of the claim and you just get an email that your claim has been reassigned. Both claims were very easy claims - one water tube for the fridge and one gas valve for the water heater.

    One of their technicians was a random handyman with an LLC who tried to make extra money off me. I have never experienced such a scam - whether it be the amount of time to fulfill the claim or the technicians they allow. I could have paid for the claims multiple times on my own with the money I spent paying them monthly while the claims were still not complete. I called to cancel my policy, and then they offered me a resolution. It's still not complete. They're terrible!

    My washer went out. Wouldn't go through the spin cycle. Choice sent somebody out from Whirlpool since it's a Maytag. The first technician didn't know what he was doing. Told me I didn't have a problem with it, couldn't find a problem with it. Meanwhile, it doesn't go through a spin cycle. They said it was a closed-out claim. I told them nothing's been satisfied yet or done. So they sent another technician out. The second technician knew what he was doing, but he told me the drum needed a rebuild. They wouldn't rebuild it, they're just gonna replace it.

    So I got an offer for replacement. They're gonna send me a Lowe's card for $346, and I'd like to know where you can find a washing machine for $346. I paid more than that for it. I asked for a supervisor. They said that's the best they can do, but they'll send me a check so I can shop anywhere I want instead of Lowe's. But I couldn't get them to pay any more than that. Any washer, even the basic cheapest one you can find, is $600. I'm a little disappointed in their replacement plan. I'm still waiting, and now they tell me it's gonna be 30 to 60 days before I can get the check, and my washer doesn't work. I'm a bit disappointed. They could have been a little bit more. I had to keep calling and follow up on it as opposed to them calling me. I waited a week for them to contact me afterwards to tell me what's going on. I thought that was unacceptable when you're talking about a washer being out. They would at least respond within 24 or 48 hours.

    For the convenience and protection of all my appliances, I decided to get Choice Home Warranty. My experience submitting the claim has been great, no problems there. Then they referred us to IB Solution for a fridge. They said the parts were in, but they haven’t contacted us. We’ve called and left messages multiple times with no response. That part of the experience has been very bad.

    I wouldn’t say I’m dissatisfied with Choice, but I am very dissatisfied with the service providers they use. Like IB Solution, they’re the ones handling the work, and that’s where the issues come in.

    What I like most is that Choice responds quickly and sends an email with contact information, that’s great. But once we start contacting the service providers, the follow-up is really poor. We’ve been without a fridge for three weeks. Every morning I call, and they say they call me back. Sometimes it’s recorded, which is fine, and nobody calls back.

    On March 4, 2025, I reported a flood in my home, which I believed was caused by a blockage. CHW scheduled a plumber for March 14, but he never showed up. They rescheduled for March 21. After several calls, CHW finally sent someone on March 18: Two weeks after my initial claim. When the plumber arrived, he found three issues: A blockage in a drainpipe, a leaking faucet in a sink, and a cracked pipe. CHW only authorized him to fix the blockage, leaving the other problems unresolved. The plumber shut off my water to stop the leak. No leak in the basement, but no running water either: Problem NOT resolved.

    After the plumber left, my washing machine stopped working. The error code pointed to a plumbing issue with the drainpipe: The very problem CHW's plumber claimed to have fixed. Despite their supposed "30-day guarantee," I had to pay another $75 service fee to schedule a washing machine repair. Then I had to pay yet another $75 fee for a different plumber to fix the faucet leak, repair the cracked pipe, and restore my water supply. To make matters worse, I had to purchase a new faucet at my own expense just to have the plumber fix the leak. Apparently, CHW does not pay to replace defective parts. The washing machine technician won’t arrive until next week, so my laundry piles up while I deal with CHW's incompetence.

    I still don't know how many more $75 fees I'll need to pay before my water service is restored without flooding. If my washing machine issue turns out to be a plumbing problem (which it almost certainly is since that is what the error code suggests), my $75 service fee for the unnecessary washing machine repair will not be refunded, and I will need to pay another $75 fee for yet another plumber (the third one so far) to fix the drainpipe: A problem that was supposedly resolved already. CHW has wasted my money with endless $75 service fees for the same problem and my time with repeated phone calls and unreliable service providers. Their delays, poor service, and mounting costs make CHW an expensive and frustrating mistake. I strongly recommend avoiding them.

    It is very difficult to work with your system. You don’t have anyone who handles repairs and so we have always had to find our own people to repair our things. That means we have to pay upfront for repairs and then wait for reimbursement.     Made a claim with CHW. They scheduled a technician to come out a week later to check my stove. The technician rescheduled for the next week. Once the technician looked at the stove, without any repair to the stove, he said it could not be repaired. Choice notified me that they would be only providing $338 to replace my stove. This amount is inadequate. According to Tamar, the claims representative, the appliances are replaced and funded at cost to the consumer. Customers of CHW must then pay retail. We cannot purchase a stove at choice and Choice will only give their customers enough to cover the wholesale cost of the oven and not the retail cost. This is totally inadequate and unfair to the customer. I would not recommend Choice Home Warranty to anyone.

    Choice Warranty has failed to fulfill its commitments. We submitted a claim on February 4, 2025, and over 30 days have passed without any technician being dispatched for the septic system's periodic maintenance and pump-out. They assert that the claims process is complicated, as local technicians are unwilling to engage with it, even though I am prepared to pay upfront.     We had a warranty with Choice Home Warranty. They covered our door locks good. Then our pool motor went out. For weeks, close to two months, Choice Home Warranty told us that they were looking and couldn't find anyone to check our motor. Although there are several pool stores in our area. Finally, we were told to find a repairman ourselves and turn in the estimate to Choice Warranty. If they approved the work, then we would pay for the work and be repaid by them.

    We needed our pool pump to be working, and we were going to have to pay for the work up front whether or not it was repaid by Choice Warranty. So when we found someone we also had the work done. We then turned in all the required paperwork to Choice Warranty. Because we had gone ahead and had the work done, they wouldn't even consider approving it. If first thing, we had taken this on ourselves I would understand. But they had 'looked' for someone to repair it for weeks previously to this. We were very unhappy with them.

    It is a very poorly managed company - they have all manner of delaying tactics to frustrate the consumer. I recommend you check the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website. Over 11,000 complaints have been filed by prior customers. Many recent complaints have been filed this year, 2025. I mistakenly believed how the industry's national ratings put CHW in the top 10 home warranty companies - Big Mistake on my part-..

    I purchased a three-year contract with Choice Home Warranty (CHW), believing they are an honest and responsible organization. After a frustrating round of trying to get my dishwasher repaired and many delays, a service technician came to my home and changed the pump motor, but it did not fix the problem. CHW kept trying to get the technician to return to my home, but the tech refused (three times), telling me that they could not repair the dishwasher and that they would tell CHW to replace the dishwasher. After several more calls and letters to CHW, I was informed that I should issue a new claim and pay $75 for another repair tech (of their choosing) to fix the problem the first tech could not and would not repair. (Delay and denial tactics). Ultimately, CHW would NOT replace the dishwasher or send another technician to fix it.

    Frustrated, I started studying the contract. I found that CHW is not liable or responsible for anything related to our signed contract! Even though they sold me the policy under their name, and the CHW office in Edison N.J. serviced the contract. The contract states that the responsible party is the Home Service Club of California.(HSCoCA). Upon further investigation, I found that HSCoCA was a front for a business that has been selling home warranties but with many problems. Listings in BBB said they had an 'F' rating and non-member status because HSCoCA refused to answer any of the complaints filed against them.

    So here I am without a working Dishwasher. To note, I paid $1,386 + $75 (service fee) into a contract with a company that has no responsibility for carrying out that contract. I cannot bring a lawsuit against CHW as arbitration is required with the obligor, which is; Home Service Club of California, whose mail address is; 305 Broadway, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10007 in the same building in New York City where the Home Service Club Warranty Corporation has its headquarters, representing Home Service Companies of (any given state) where they do business. This head corporation has an "F" rating given by the Better Business Bureau for non-response to customer complaints.

    In Summary; Choice Home Warranty is a front for a badly run organization(s), including Home Service Club of California Insurance Services, Inc. and Home Service Club Warranty Corporation, both of which have very poor records of customer satisfaction with the Better Business Bureau. Thus, I concurred that the network of intertwined organizations was created to mislead and misdirect the consumer into believing that they would help them with the security of their appliances and home systems.
