    My husband and I have been going through Choice Home Warranty for 3 years. Our dishwasher stopped working recently and this is the first appliance that needed to be completely replaced. At first we were only offered a Lowe's gift card for $272, which wouldn't even cover the cost of the cheapest dishwasher they carry. I reached out to the company and talked with Sean W. He was amazing, explaining their policies on appliance replacements in a way anyone could understand. He took the time to review our claim and got us a higher amount to cover the whole cost of the dishwasher. I felt very satisfied after our conversation. I would have given Choice a 5 star rating, except for the fact we have to wait 15-30 to get our higher amount gift card. Seems a long time to wait, but it's just my husband and I, so we can handle hand washing a little longer.

    Please beware that representatives and service technicians were excellent professionally and knowledgeable. My concern is with the rules and scope of my contract. (1) First and same approved claim was partially satisfied with my paying service fee. (2) Then another service fee for same claim with a different service technician which which I shouldn't have to pay. The first service technician was not notified of the other part of claim.

    If I could give Choice Home Warranty no stars I would! I switched from my old home warranty company to Choice Home Warranty and it was the biggest mistake! Their customer service is horrible as well as claim service. You can never speak to someone who speaks English or communicate with someone regarding the status of your claim. Also we sold our home and did not renew our home warranty, representatives from Choice Home Warranty called us 5 times asking if we wished to renew and each time we told them, "No we sold our home." They illegally charged our credit card anyway. Don't only walk away from this company but run!!!!

    My experience with Choice Home Warranty was completely ruined by the behavior of the sales rep, Anthony **. From the start, he was extremely aggressive in trying to close the deal. I had him on speaker so my wife could hear the conversation, and she immediately told me not to go through with it solely because of how pushy and overbearing he was. Despite the pressure, I decided to go ahead with the month-to-month plan because it seemed like a fair offer. My card was charged, and I thought that was the end of it—but it wasn’t. Even after the sale was processed, Anthony continued to push a 6-year plan, and when I declined multiple times, he made a demeaning comment suggesting I "didn’t sound like someone in the position" to afford it. Whether he meant it that way or not, it came off as rude and condescending.

    He didn’t stop there—he then tried pushing a 3-year plan after I had already said NO several times. When I refused again, he muttered a snide comment under his breath, which was the final straw. I told him to cancel everything immediately and that I wanted nothing to do with the company. He suddenly changed his tune, got defensive, and told me he couldn't cancel it himself—even though 10 minutes earlier, he said he could. What happened next was just shocking—he raised his voice and basically tried to get into a yelling match with me. It was beyond unprofessional.

    I had to hang up, call back, fight through the phone menu for 15 minutes, and finally speak with someone who helped me cancel. I’ve since gone with a competitor who matched the offer without the pressure, hassle, or unprofessional behavior. If anyone from the company reads this before replying, I implore you to listen to the call recording. It’s about 45 minutes long, but the last 15 minutes especially speak for themselves—pure chaos. Because of Anthony ** alone, I will never be a Choice Home Warranty customer, and I will not recommend them to anyone. This is not how you treat customers or potential customer, or people in general.

    So far all issues have been handled effectively and efficiently. We have had issues with our a/c units to the point they have both been replaced - both outside units and inside air handlers... New dishwasher repaired twice (bad circuit boards from manufacturer) and a refrigerator that "died" and was replaced. All techs that have been assigned repairs have been experienced and professional - finding parts have been a minor issue but resolved in a timely manner. Am 76 and retired and could never been able to afford all these repairs in just the last 3 years. Would recommend Choice Home Warranty to all who want a relative stress free policy for home appliances.

    We had water under the bins in the fridge and had to manually thaw the refrigerator twice, so we requested service. The repair tech came and found the water was from the filter. We had one so he changed it. But he noticed the doors were not sealing correctly and found that the guide that closes the extra flap on the on the double doors was missing. Choice said it was not covered because it is not normal wear and tear. All we do is open and close them to gain access to the refrigerator. How is that Not normal usage of a refrigerator door.

    Claim was filed. The plumber came out, took all of 30 seconds to say that my water heater didn't have a problem and the claim was denied. It was being turned in as tainted, and in the denial they didn't explain what they wanted me to do next, but thank goodness the plumber did. My problem still exist, so I'm not sure what to do now. There is no communication!

    My outside compressor went bad, the inside unit, because of age, was not compatible with newer systems. Therefore, I have to pay for the inside unit. This is not a warranty, this is junk. One unit can not work without the other so one could say that is why it is called a system. To slither out of paying for the full system, they are treated as independent appliances. This is poor service and causing me to deal with Florida summer without my A/C. I want my warranty service canceled.

    This was my first claim after purchasing my policy. I had three appt for technicians to come to my house about my AC. None of which resulted in an actual tech showing up. After speaking to the third vendor to at least make contact with someone about narrowing a time down. They informed me they had no record of me being in their system and they do not work with choice at all. Growing frustrated I took it upon myself to find a vendor and get them in contact with Choice. The tech came, did his job and the office did their part to inform Choice of the issues. To which Choice almost immediately denied the claim. Saying that the copper wires were not “normal wear and tear“ even though that issues was not being charged to Choice and was not the root cause of the main issue under the house.

    The AC company then appealed the decision. Which I was then told by a choice worker didn’t really matter if they appealed it, it would still be denied after the appeal was submitted. Not only is this a horrible first experience just with the techs not showing , it’s a horrible experience that choice will deny a WHOLE claim due to a part that was its own separate issue and was not costing choice a penny. But because it was stated on the techs notes they would deny it without even offer of any help.

    Secondly after the frustration of this situation, I was googling choice home warranty and was made aware that this company was unable to write policies in my state just last year, they have extremely disturbing amounts of bad reviews, especially with denied claims and scamming people out of money. And also the theft of money by vendors that they send to peoples houses. So for that I’m glad I had to do the leg work of finding my own company, this unprofessionalism is crazy, scary and so dishonest and down right highway robbery, my mom has had a policy with them for two years because she is on a fixed income and needed some assurance that she had a possibility of help if she needed it. And now I feel that money has been I huge waste and what kind of crazy person would they have sent to her house if she had called in a claim. And then me only having them a shorter time having so many issues already.

    I have reported them to my local news station that ALREADY DID A NEWS PIECE ON THEM, trying to scam an elderly lady out of fixing her AC. It is disgusting use of a business to scam people like this. I could go on and on of the issues this company has presented so far. I have put in a request to speak to someone else and higher up to allow them to do the right thing and resolve this with me. But I again get the run around and walls and no calls back. So I don’t have much hope for them to rectify this is situation.

    The furnace was making a lot of noise, and a red light warning was on. The Service person that responded was very professional in every way.     The technician that came out was wonderful and great, but I thought the claim process with Choice Home Warranty was horrible. We had them for just maybe six months or so when our oven went out, and because the replacement part was deemed too expensive or not available, they settled on a replacing cost of $348. That is nowhere near the thousand dollars this oven is currently going for.

    It’s been over a week now, going on two weeks, and we’re still waiting for a settlement check from them. Once we receive that check, then we’re done with them.

    I had heat exchanger and gas valve issue in my propane furnace. This is normal wear and tear, right? How one can abuse or misuse that. They denied the claim based on the reason that the unit was not serviced regularly. The last service I had before the claim was in last 2 years.     If I could give this company a negative start I could. They basically take your money and do nothing. They assign a tech to you and then close your case. The tech might be okay or they might be bad - they don’t care. We contacted them for our dishwasher. It was not drying the dishes. They assigned a tech who came out. He looked at the dishwasher and said he needed a part.

    When he left we realized that he had done something to the dishwasher making it completely unusable. We contacted Choice Warranty immediately. They told us to call the tech direct. We did - no response. We contacted Choice who told us the ticket was closed at their end and that was that. No help. It’s been a month. No dishwasher, no tech, no help from Choice Warranty. I don’t know where they got this tech but he didn’t speak English. I don’t care about that as long as he knows what he’s doing. However, he was on the phone the entire time asking someone for advice. (He didn’t realize I knew much of his language.) I don’t know how Choice picks their techs but it isn’t with the consumer in mind. And support? It is nonexistent.

    I'm a disabled veteran who was told repeatedly how valued folks like me are to the company. Their treatment AFTER I bought the contract shows differently. They take your money and then have reason after reason for not paying out claims. I was with another company when my outdoor unit froze over completely with ice. So I talked to Choice who told me since I have an existing policy with another company, they would take over the issue with this, my first floor heat pump. Nothing happened, no one came out, I fixed it with a hose, heat gun and hair dryer. No issues. Claim closed. This was back in Nov 2024, I fixed it, so the claim was closed.

    Fast forward to April 2 and my upstairs unit isn't keeping up, so I put in a claim. Being told they won't fix this unit because there's no paperwork for the claim on the other unit, to say it was repaired. I fixed it 5 months ago and it was closed. Now they won't do anything for this separate, individual unit. So I offered to pay out of pocket for a tech to come out and verify the heat pump from the original claim is 100% operable...but they want it to be from 5 months ago when the claim was closed. So I have a contract that's useless on any heat or AC in my home (2 inside units, handlers, 2 outside units, heat pumps).

    I have call after call trying to get this fixed, Best they would do is $200 towards repairs...that won't buy the compressor that's bad, never mind recharge the 24 year old system. I'm reporting this to BBB and will be contacting a contract attorney. No heat or AC for over a week... Also, cell phones can record conversations now, do it when dealing with these shady companies. I tried to give them the names and emails so they could investigate further, beyond what the claim says.     We had a heater that didn't work. The technician told me the part that was needed was under warranty. Choice Home Warranty was supposed to pay for when something didn't work, but they said there was $660 worth of things that needed to be done that were not covered by the warranty.

    I have been waiting for five weeks now for our heater to be fixed. I’ve been told that the part isn’t available till the middle of May. We’re two old people living in a house without a heater.

    I had somebody else come look at the heater, and they said this is not a very good unit. He agreed that the part was probably hard to get. I don’t know if we'll ever get it now with what’s going on with the tariffs. But it’s a very expensive part, and I do not believe it was covered by warranty. They’re saying they’ll pay $102 for replacing the part. I’m still sort of trying to get this fixed.

    The customer service keeps asking me to make a review. I said I was going to stop using Choice Home Warranty. They said, they will do this and that for me, and that they’ll only charge me $75 instead of $100 per call. They’re trying to keep me as a customer.

    It's been a bittersweet experience. We had a brand spanking new house built by D.R. Horton on the East Coast in 2022, but I quickly realized that right when the year warranty ran out, everything started going. I felt we had no choice but to get some type of home warranty to protect us from such poor craftsmanship from D.R. Horton's contractors.

    I ran across Choice on the internet. They had pretty good reviews and were the most reasonably priced. Submitting a claim has been wonderful. The online tools are user-friendly, very clear for senior citizens or someone that's struggling with computers. My only complaint is that I'd like to go back to the old ways where you pay your service fee when the tech comes and they see that it is something that needs to be done. If they can’t do it, I'm out $75, plus my $55 a month payment I have to make. The monthly fee should include if a tech comes out.

    I have strongly encouraged my friend that lives in Las Vegas who’s gonna be selling her house to get Choice. She wants to get a home warranty for a year for the new owners coming in and they are definitely one of the better home warranties out there.

    I've had Choice Warranty for seven or eight years. I was under American Home Shield when I first moved into my home and the prices skyrocketed. When I originally went from AHS to Choice, it was hard for them to get a company to come out. Also, when they send people out, they're not really qualified. I did deal with them probably maybe once or twice.

    One particular company came out and they were trying to repair some plumbing issues. They didn't have the proper tools and they didn't know what they were doing. They had to come back another day and wanted to do some more work. I had another problem and told Choice to not dispatch that particular company out. My AC unit also went out and Choice and I had a dispute. Eventually, everything worked out. However, within the last three years, Choice has gotten better. As soon as you report an issue, within 24 hours, they’ll have someone dispatched. Overall, Choice is not a bad company and their prices are not expensive. I recommend them.

    I’ve been with Choice Home Warranty for decades. I first got it to cover certain things in my home. The recent claim process was extremely easy to do. Choice sent text or email with the name of the contractor. Some of the contractors do the work well, but some of them were challenging. For the most part, they’re good.

    What I like most about them is that they cover a lot of parts. But one thing I do not like was the loose language they use to deny claims. Choice is in it to make money. For instance, I had a faucet that was leaking, and there was some cosmetic damage to the faucet, but it was not leaking from there. So they denied the claim completely.

    Also, there was a shower that was leaking. The plumber that came out said the bolt was stripped, but it wasn’t stripped. I don’t know if they stripped it or not, and the plumber said they have to cut it off. Choice denied that claim because they said the bolt was stripped, so it’s not normal wear and tear. They could have improved that process.

    I’m giving 5 stars to the technicians who came to repair our washing machine. They were professional, courteous, and efficient. Once they arrived, the service was outstanding, and I really appreciated their work.

    However, I cannot give the same rating to Choice Warranty as a company. It took far too long to get a technician assigned to our case, and from what I’ve seen, this is a common issue. It’s frustrating to experience such delays.

Service Genius then quoted me $2000.00 to repair. The system had been working prior to the check up. Because I care for a severely disabled grandson who does not tolerate warm temps, I gave partial payment for item that Genius did not stock and would have to order.     Microwave replacement claim rejected saying they were not notified before it is damaged: When I raised ticket for Microwave. Technician visited our house and collected $75 service fee and said this need to replaced cannot repaired. And mentioned he will report to Choice Home Warranty and they will get back to me to replace. But Choice Home Warranty sent an email saying that claim is declined as this is already damaged. You should have informed before it is damaged. I did not understand how we will know before it gets damaged.     Choice Home Warranty must have issues with repair vendors. Each time I've needed it there were multiple emails on each repair stating they couldn't find a repair shop in my area. I live in the Savannah area which isn't a tiny area. Then they deny claims based on maintenance issues when their repairmen replaced the same parts less than a year prior.

    I purchased the Choice Ultimate Plan from Choice Home Warranty with the expectation that critical systems like my HVAC would be covered and handled professionally. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite—and extremely frustrating. I filed a claim on January 31 because my Trane heat pump stopped working during cold weather. A technician was dispatched on February 2, but he claimed nothing was wrong and reported the unit working fine—even though it clearly wasn’t when temperature goes below 32F. Within two weeks, after a snowstorm, the unit failed again (No heat at all). I contacted Choice to follow up, and they dispatched the same technician, who never showed up and ignored our calls. Apparently, he submitted a report stating the system didn’t need repair, which is absolutely false.

    Eventually, a new technician was sent. He did identify a problem—when the emergency heat kicks in, the blower doesn’t run—but told me he couldn't interpret the Trane error code and said I should contact Trane myself. That’s not what I’m paying a home warranty for. By March 31, the entire unit had stopped functioning—no air, no heat, no cooling, nothing. On April 2, the same technician from last visit returned, took some error codes, and said he’d send a report to Choice. He refused to troubleshoot further, saying he wasn’t paid to do so, but still collected a $75 service fee.

    After many more phone calls, Choice arranged another HVAC company to come on April 8, then delayed to April 9. The tech finally arrived—without a ladder to reach the attic unit—and left without doing anything. At this point, I’ve had three separate visits, paid $150 in fees, and my system is still completely non-functional. It honestly seems like they’re sending out incompetent or unmotivated techs who are only interested in collecting the service fee and closing the job. Basic diagnostics weren’t even attempted in some cases. I’ve lost a lot of time chasing them down, and still have no heating or cooling in my home after more than two months of dealing with this issue.

    I expected support. I paid for full HVAC coverage. What I got was delay, avoidance, and no results. I strongly caution anyone considering Choice Home Warranty: they make it nearly impossible to get legitimate repairs done. Their service provider network appears unreliable, and their support team hasn’t taken any meaningful steps to resolve this.

    The service technician from Air City was wonderful and explain to us, the problem. He explain that the unit was in need of replacement and that it would take an extended period of time, going thru Choice Warranty. Because I am an elderly disabled veteran and my wife is elderly, we could not wait an extended period of time in the massive heat.

    Hello, We raised a claim for the Gas Range spark igniter not working in 3 burners. A technician came and didn't repair anything, he said there's lot of grease. There is some grease, which is common with cooking, but definitely not a lot like how he mentioned. Even after we cleaned the grease, the igniter did not work and this is happening for three burners. The igniter does not trigger a flame even after 10 to 15 seconds and it releases gas into the air which is a hazard. The technician did not resolve the issue rather they mentioned about the grease and diverted the issue.

    I spoke to the claims representative, but she was completely unhelpful. I am very unsatisfied with the technician who came to check the gas range. We paid for the service call already. Either they have to resolve the issue or refund the money or send another technician to check. Please address this concern as our issue is still not resolved, but we paid the money. I will not recommended choice to anyone if the service is so poor. Thanks.

    Choice Home Warranty company is complete scam. I have been paying for Home warranty for over 3 years now and when I needed it the most, they pointed to me a clause in the agreement which states that they can unilaterally decide to settle the claim for repair for any amount they deem fit. My electric cooktop developed some issue and they sent 5 different vendors to fix over a period of 6 months (yes, that's how long it took to chase them to fix, I would have made at least 30 calls to them). Finally when they figured that its beyond the competence of their vendors to fix they offered to pay $350 for replacing a $2500 cooktop. Stay away from them. They are worse than a blood sucking leech. This business should not exist.

    We have had Choice for almost two years. We placed our first claim on 3/5/2025 for our pool and nobody came; they don't have contractors available to fix it and they don't do anything about it. They keep saying "we are working on it", After a month a many phone calls, I called some of the contractors in the area and they all said they do not work with them because they do not get paid for their services. I called Choice and I told them we need to find someone right away; the problem was getting worst with the pool. They finally agree to re-imburse up to $300 for us to find someone. We are glad it was only $125; we are waiting for the check; who knows if it will come.... They have a BBB grade F. I don't know where they are getting all these great reviews.

    I'm very unhappy with Choice because of my most recent claim. When I first joined Choice, I paid $2100 up front in order get the lower price of a visit, $65/claim. My microwave went on the fritz and the technician said it was a bad magnetron and needed to be replaced, but Choice would let me know if they were either going to repair it or replace it. It was fully covered so I thought I was good. Instead, they've decided to give me a Lowe's gift card for the wholesale value of the microwave (about $190), that I'd have to go to Lowes and buy the microwave myself, make up the difference in cost, transport it home and install it myself. It takes 2 people to install it. I live alone and will be 72 years old in a couple of months and can't do it. So they're saying I'll have to hire someone to install it. Any idea of what it will cost to hire someone to install it?... as much as it costs to purchase it. I think the BBB will hear about this so that others can be warned.

    Stay away from Choice Home Warranty. I purchased Choice Home Warranty and 40 days into the warranty my water heater made loud noises and started leaking. When I put in a claim for the leak and waiting for 5 days without having hot water. A plumbing co came out, collected $75 for the service call and when they sent their diagnosis to Choice Warranty they said that it was not covered and that it was pre existing. I was very upset on how they conduct their business and not honoring what is clearly stated in their agreement, I called and cancelled the warranty and had to pay a $25 cancelation fee plus pro rated amount of $44. So I was charged $144 by this company for them to tell me that they are not going to fix my water heater. This company is there to just get your money and deny any work that will cost them money. Stay away from this company.

    They are horrible. I have had 6 Claims in 4 years. 1 was approved but never completed. I put the claim on 9/25/2024 for my booster pump leaking and the top of the filter system. Well the top part of the filter system was not covered because they claim that it was mistreated, misused and abused. Wow. It's wear and tear. My pool has always been maintain routinely by a pool service. I told them I can provide all the records of maintenance. The booster pump was covered but as of Feb 5th I have had enough waiting and my water bill rising. The service company stated they had called and emailed them several times and that the part housing was not available and to authorize a replacement in November and I had called many times and I could not get a straight answer.

    So January came. I didn't pay due to them failure to not resolving the claim then in Feb 4, 2025 I called. They would not give me no information until I paid January. I paid then they had the gull to take out another month without my consent. I had told them I don't want to pay them until they resolve the claim from 9/25/2024. The other claims were the same crap, an excuse not to pay the claims.

    I was even told I would get reimbursed for a claim that needed to be done and they gave me the steps on what to do and where to send the receipts and photos then it gets denied. I asked to have the recording to prove that they had given the go ahead and approval. They are very unprofessional, they don't document all the information, no one person knows what's going on. They state they don't have a supervisor to speak with and they will not give you the main office information they say its not available. What bunch of liars. They take forever to respond to resolve. They are the worse, untrustworthy company.

    We pay extra every month so that our pool pump and equipment is covered. When I made a claim about a pump issue, Choice denied it and we had to pay over $3000 out of pocket. We were stuck in a contract, and I was thrilled to cancel as soon as it expired. When I called to do so, the representative I spoke with was so kind and helpful (and offered a 10% reimbursement) that I decided not to cancel and to give Choice another chance. Shortly after, our air conditioner malfunctioned. I paid $100 for the technician and agreed to $810 out of pocket expenses, which I thought was a lot of money at the time. The NEXT DAY, I was informed that the out of pocket expenses had been changed from $810 to $3505!!! After trying for 45 minutes to get any sort of resolution I was given the option of paying for all of the work out of pocket and being reimbursed. Obviously, if I had the funds to pay out of pocket I wouldn’t need to file a claim.

    I had no other choice but to pay the $3505 if we didn’t want to suffer through a Texas summer with no air conditioning. At this point I’m questioning why we even have a warranty company if we are always paying exorbitant out of pocket expenses. The representatives do their best to help customers, but the company does not do what we pay them to do. Jimmy ** and Andrea ** were amazingly helpful and I feel like they did the best they could with the resources that were available. I would not recommend Choice, though. We pay our premiums every month for them to just deny/underpay claims about 80 percent of the time.

    After inspection of our failed washing machine, we were advised that we would get a replacement settlement check for $343. I'm not sure how reimbursement for replacement works but that is not enough to buy any replacement washer, much less the upgraded one that was not repaired. I was advised that if the appliance cannot be repaired then it is replaced. Apparently, this is not the case, as we are going to have to apply, at least, another $300 to the $343 to replace one that is like, kind and quality. Another concern?

    I have tried to reach out to my rep that, about a year ago, talked me in to jumping ship on our other home warranty program, for about 10 days with, absolutely, no response from him. Appears when they want your business they do and say what it takes to get that business and then they could care a less about any concerns you have. Very disappointed in the outcome of this claim and, especially, this individual (Phil M.) not responding to my emails and voicemails. Disappointed customer here...
