Fan, other parts broke..They were here the next day, polite and returning to replace the parts. When in. The parts will be in Monday, and he will be here for the repair and we have had Choice for several years and they always have been here for the repairs...Except when the Covid was so rampant.

Andy from Guinco was my technician for both appliances and he was very knowledgeable and was able to identify and fix both of the issues. Each time he explained the issue and offered other advice on how to keep our appliances in mint condition. I couldn’t believe how fast he fixed the issues and now both our appliances are working just fine.

We had an appointment scheduled and the repair completed within 24 hours of placing the claim. The technician was totally professional and a pleasure to work with. All required repairs were covered by our warranty. We have been clients for years and the cost has been considerably cheaper than paying for repairs out of pocket.

I registered a dispute about the outcome of my claim. I am very pleased that CHW and I were able to resolve the dispute amicably. The dispute agent was knowledgeable and did not provoke me to react in a negative manner. I am very pleased with the outcome without having to argue my dispute with the agent.

Refrigerator was not cooling adequately. Sent Aljanabillc repair out. Great service by AJ. Thorough, courteous, knowledgeable, and great expedient service. Explained everything in great detail. All diagnostics performed and respectful. Left our refrigerator in great condition upon finishing. Choice customer service was very helpful in assisting us. One phone call and great communication by all parties involved.

The salesman that contacted me is polite in his introduction and asked me if it was a convenient time to speak with me. He was very informative and confident in selling this product. He was a professional and knew the product it was selling. He was very confidential about me using a credit card over the phone and took only the beer essential information to require the transaction.
He made sure that I understood my coverage and I also understood my payment and he broke the payment down to where it was comfortable for me to pay 3 months in advance. When it was all over, he did a recap and I was confident that my transaction was in private it in my coverage just what I was looking for. I am happy with his service and I am satisfied with the amount of money that I will be paying. Informed me that my policy would be waiting on me when I got home and I have just read it and I am completely satisfied with this content. I hope I don't have a breakdown, but if I do, I hope this company will live up to its obligations of repair.

My repair was made within the week that I reported the problem. I called on Monday and it was repaired by Thursday and I live 2 1/2 hours out of town. The repairman Rob, was so respectful and meticulous. He did a great job and was very efficient. Even put everything back in place and you would never know anyone had been there. Very happy with the results.

I submitted a claim on 4/28/25 to have my septic tank pumped out. The service is in my contract and I am paying for it. They sent out the technician who had to get approval from them before he could start the job. They denied the approval because I did not have a sewage block or backup. I told them this was to prevent that from occurring. They said , "Well we are sorry we cannot approve the work." So basically, I have to have sewage and poop on the floors in my house before they would approve it. I said if that happens then where am I suppose to go use the bathroom at and how can I do laundry or use any water for that matter. They acted like they did not care.

Great service, quick response. Karasik LLC was the company that responded to the service request. They were great, they were able to come out a day before originally scheduled. They were able to resolve the issue with the AC the same day. Not much more to say at this, we were very happy with the friendly service and quick response.

Once the replacement was approved, and the parts arrived it was quickly scheduled. Team who did repair were friendly, knowledgeable, and fair. Great service and repair. Team was more than willing to explain each step to me and the office staff kept me updated on each step. They even worked late to see that the job was completed timely. These guys were absolutely the best and I would have no qualms having them complete other AC repairs for me.

I appreciated Marc from RAMES ROOF. He was very professional and completed the roofing work on my house. He informed me I was denied due to I had a flat roof. As for Choice Home Warranty, once again a claim I submitted was denied. This time it is due to I have a flat roof. It is so upsetting, annoying, and aggravating.

Choice is a scam that doesn't pay out when they are supposed to. When my AC went out and I had a 1-week old baby at home, the best they could do was get someone here in 5 days. I got someone here in 2 hours. Then they authorized only $100 on a repair that cost $450. When I spoke to their claims "case manager", their answer was that I should have just waited 5 days. They'll take your money and send you a million e-mails. But they won't hold up their end of the deal.

I love that Choice Home now has the ability for us to add in what the issue is. The service person arrived with a new kit to repair as the description gave him enough information. No more double trips. After looking at he confirmed it was as suspected, showed me the kit he brought with belts and rollers and had it fixed within 15 mins.

Technician was friendly, courteous and professional. His integrity and honesty is refreshing. Also pointed out potentially future issues. Cleaned up area he was working in and left it better than he found it. Tech came out a whole day earlier and I find that to be most helpful when dealing with a plumbing problem that has water leakage. Would highly recommend this particular tech and this company for all future plumbing repairs.

I have had to file file two (2) claims since becoming a member of the Choice Home Warranty family. On both occasions the claims were handled with professionalism, accuracy and skill. On each claim the service providers were dressed appropriately, introduced themselves, and asked about the issues I was dealing with. They were polite, professional, very skilled in their trade and explained in detail what they were recommending back to CHW. I recommend this Company. My only complaint are the non-English speaking customer service people in the Philippines.

Takes forever to process claims and to find a contractor. After you or they find a contractor they try to get you on a technicality so they do not have to pay out the claim. Also, when you try to cancel your contract it has to be by email which they are not completely clear about. I told them repeatedly over the phone I wanted to cancel and they auto generator a new contract without my knowledge anyways. Thank you,

The warranty was amazing. It covered fixing the lights and even replacing them. The man that did it was so nice. He also showed up when he said he would. In my area that’s rare. I am so grateful to have paid for this warranty. Being a divorced woman and not an electrician this really took a lot off of my plate. I didn’t have to fight for coverage.

Choice Home Warranty is not a company I would use again. We received a home warranty plan from them when we purchased our house. Like any purchase of a home with a little age things go wrong, hence the warranty. Choice Home made things difficult for a couple reasons: 1) The contractor base they use is quite small. We had a plumbing issue that had to wait more than a week for them to eventually call and say they couldn't find a contractor near our area and we would have to find our own for reimbursement. 2) They only cover one "issue" in immense categories. We had a second plumbing issue completely unrelated to the first but because it fell under "plumbing" they would not cover the second issue.
3) Their communication with both their contractors and customers is terrible. They tried to schedule an electrician for a job, the electrician denied the job, but they told us they would be there at a certain day and time. When the scheduling problem came to light they didn't communicate with us or resolve the issue. Choice simply closed the claim as though the repair happened. The company is not respectful of their customer's time or property.

The repair was done well. The service technician called before arrival which helped time location. It was easy to submit this claim and I received an immediate scheduled appointment. I only wish I would get the same appointment time from choice, instead the company informed me the time I received was not the company’s time.

Technician was great...however, the company does everything in its power NOT to pay claims!!! He quickly diagnosed the problem but the company identified one item so that they could deny the claim. I would never recommend this warranty company to anyone and will find another one for my warranty needs!!!

CJ Fixit is a terrific company run by CJ himself. He is fast, super smart and polite and diagnose the problem quickly. He even came sooner than the regularly scheduled appointment. I would recommend CJ Fixit to anyone and Knoxville or the surrounding area. I would like him to be assigned to any Appliance Repair claim that I have in the future.

You have closed my case and the the dishwasher has not been repaired. I paid $100 to be told by dishwasher doesn't work. This is the 2nd repair that was not completed in a timely manner and I had to enquire in order to get it resolved. I'm losing faith in Choice and their ability to get things repaired.

I am 83 years old and I go to bed early, yes he made it just before 8:00, so that put him here till almost 9. I got my grandkids to stay with me until hr left so I wouldn't be alone with a strange man in my house. He was very nice and did his job well but I didn't like the late hour. Thank you for your help.

Long time applicant with CHOICE and must say one of my smarter move that I have made in my 75 years. Have not used them a lot but they were there when I needed them. I have had several service calls on my air conditioning and appliances in the past and CHW was there for me. Thank you CHW.

Choice responded quickly to my request. The technician responded, arrived earlier than expected. He was knowledgeable, prepared and fixed the issue within an hour. He was courteous and accepted payment via square and emailed the receipt immediately. I would highly recommend his company. I hope he continues to service customers in my area for Choice.

No problems with the technician. Was efficient and professional. The warranty service weeks to have difficulty getting local techs, I had to cancel the first and get another one. This caused about a week delay in getting the job done. I do think $90 a month is too much anymore and I will not be able to afford it.

When a claim was submitted about an issue related to AC Unit, received the appointment a week later which is a very big disappointment to learn that Choice Home Warranty cannot find a vendor/contractor in Myrtle Beach, SC area within couple of days of reporting the issue. I expected Choice Home Warranty to find a vendor who can provide an appointment to check on AC Unit at least a day or two later and not a week later.

I have had an impossible experience with Choice Home Warranty. Our claim was submitted in July, we have had 4 different repairmen say our appliance could not be fixed. We wanted for men that never showed up, showed up 6 hours later than time given, would not submit report, so our claim was never closed. We were told repeatedly that we needed to file a new claim. After 9 months with no refrigerator working, I finally bought one and moved the one that had been sitting in my kitchen not functioning for 9 months, outside the door where it was covered and plugged in.
After months of repairmen saying it couldn't be fixed, months of weekly calls to Choice Warranty to see where we were on the claim with NO satisfaction, they finally denied the claim because I had purchase one and move that one outside. Getting them to pay for an appliance seems impossible. They were like robots on the phone, repeating the same company line over and over. I feel like I was scammed with this company. It has been one of the most frustrating and upsetting experiences of my life. Do Not sign up with Choice Warranty. It's a waste of money.

I was offered a price on a washer but was below what replacement cost would be because the old unit was a discontinued item. I think the company should be able to match whatever the current equivalent cost would be. The rep was really nice but was unable to bring the reimbursement price was. Every warranty company I know will match whatever the current price is for an equivalent unit. This is a bit frustrating.

I called for quote and agent, Gregg was overly aggressive in offering plans. Apparently I was taking too long to make a decision on whether to take a 2,500 senior plan. & and he became rude. & unprofessional. I decided on just the basic plan of $560 a yr. I paid in full. My first instinct was to call back and cancel,. As much as I didn't want to give him credit for sale. I reviewed plan and decided to keep and not have to start over so hopefully this was a good choice but wanted to voice my initial experience.

The technician was efficient and easily fixed the issue. He was pleasant and professional. He made sure that my garbage disposal was running again properly. The warranty company is not so easy to schedule an appointment; they make appointments on their own schedule and do not check with their customers. I’ve only dealt with them a few times and technicians are always pleasant.

I regret purchasing home warranty with Choice Home Warranty company. I called two weeks ago about the nonfunctionality of my Frigidaire Refrigerator for the second time in a year. It took them one week to send technician knowing fully well that we have kids home and fruits, vegetables, cooked preserved foods can’t be stored, which made cost us so much as we have to throw away all stored foods inside the refrigerator as they all went bad. To make the matters worst, the Technician came and said he needed to order parts and it will take 3 to 4 weeks to arrive, hence we’ve been home without refrigerator, which will cost us more. This entire process with Choice Warranty it's so painful and pathetic.

When Choice Home Warranty (CHW) assigns a repair company after a claim is submitted, it’s generally understood that the company will diagnose the issue, submit the diagnosis to CHW for approval, and then proceed with repairs. However, in my case, CHW struggled to find a repair company in my area to address an urgent water leak. CHW offered me the option to find a repair company myself, pay for the repairs upfront, and seek reimbursement. In my view, this completely undermines their own policies, as I was left footing the bill.
To minimize further damage and cost, I worked proactively with Dr. Plumbing, resolving the leak quickly. The original repair cost was estimated at $2,125, but since the water heater was still under warranty, the repair was completed the same day without additional labor charges, reducing the cost to $1,352. Despite acting in good faith, my claim was denied because I proceeded with the repair without waiting for CHW's approval. I appealed the decision through a Case Manager, but it was clear CHW had no intention of reversing their denial. I subsequently filed a dispute with the BBB. While CHW acknowledged difficulties in determining coverage, they upheld the denial, citing that the water heater was under a manufacturer’s warranty. This applies to all household items under manufacturer warranty.
While I understand the need to follow policy, the process should be streamlined to ensure timely and cost-effective resolution of claims. The outcome would have been the same, as the water heater was under warranty, but the entire point of purchasing a warranty is to protect against unforeseen issues. CHW should be focused on supporting the customer, not finding loopholes to deny claims, especially when all parties act in good faith. Before purchasing a policy with CHW, carefully read the fine print, as key coverage details are not easily accessible. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend CHW, as their actions show a lack of good faith.

For two people in their nineties, we had to wait 3 very hot days for the Tech. to get here but he was quick and efficient after he arrived and he quickly fixed the problem. Although we paid him $100 for the call and then he charged $397 more dollars to fix the problem...

Choice was slightly delayed on assigning a company to investigate my complaint. However, once assigned the company assigned indicated when they would be available to investigate the problem. Although the appointment was changed twice from the original date the company kept me informed. Likewise, on the day of the final appointment I was kept totally informed and the technician upon arrival was professional and identified the issue immediately. He fixed the base problem and I identified an additional issue related to the correction. Called the company and they immediately responded with a quick response to fix the residual issue. It's great dealing with professionals who care about customer concerns.

Turned in claim for water heater leak. Have been three weeks now and still not resolved. Finally got a technician from 150 miles away. He assessed the damage by physically looking at several different items and areas. Took pictures, called claim in only to be told by your customer service representative that the claim was denied due to dent in the outside of tank (tank is over 12 years old). Dent is at bottom of tank in a perforated area for ventilation (perforated area is weaker and doesn’t have components that would cause the leak) but he looked at the pictures and said it is leaking from the bottom so he denied the claim.
The technician explained that the leak was coming from the upper part of the tank gravity is why it’s coming out the bottom. The dent is small and cosmetic. So for your rep to make a decision based on only pictures and to dispute the assessments by your technician is unacceptable and will be contested! I have a home inspection from three years ago when I bought the house. It has pictures of everything and the fact it was not leaking for the three years that I have lived here would add credibility to what the inspector said and disputes your csr‘s decisions.

Replacement of an appliance means something entirely different to me than to this company. I spent many hours on the phone trying to find out what a dBA was. The people I talked to at Choice had no idea what dBA was until I talked to the supervisor. After all of my research with little success your agent had it off the top of his head. I am very disappointed.

Blower motor is going bad in our HVAC. Choice denied the claim stating this circumstance was not the result of normal wear/tear. Had our annual maintenance company come take a look and stated this absolutely occurred due to normal wear/tear. Elevated the claim and they still denied it. Shop elsewhere...What good is a warranty if they don't pay for legitimate claims?

It took a very long time to get an appointment and get our washer repaired. 3 weeks is a long time to be without a washing machine. We had to spend a small fortune at the laundromat. The first technician didn’t have the part with him and called out sick on our appointment day to have it replaced. So had to wait another week for another appointment.

Getting the appointment was a breeze. I was happy the stove got fixed but it took a week to do the job. The part was in Texas which caused delay in getting the part to Oklahoma. The technician did a great job. She was very knowledgeable about the situation. I would recommend her to anyone.

Technician was Excellent. Information he supplied was very helpful.. Worked efficiently and fixed the problem. As far as Choice itself, took longer than expected to get situation attended to; but, as stated workman was worth the wait. Would really appreciate this excellent workmanship at a faster pace. Also, the appointments were set by Choice and was told that these are not the actual appointment date and time. Should be told, by Choice, that customer should wait for phone call to be exact for timing. Thanks.

After multiple failures to secure a technician. I fixed it myself. Go back to documented request to fix my refrigerator. They always say they're sorry, "We escalated your problem," but nothing. Very disappointed. We had to buy bags of ice for weeks to put in our refrigerator for ice.$50.00 worth. So I fixed it myself.

I reported that the Dryer turned on but would not actually start. The repairman arrived with parts in hand so he was able to fix it in one visit. Dishwasher was unable to be repaired and the price offered for a replacement was $276 for a stainless steel Kitchen Aid. The appliance new was in excess of $1,400. The company thought that the purchase price was fair. The payment for the appliance had to be redeemed at Lowe's and the refund process can take several weeks for the gift card to make it to me by email.

The only complaint I have is the time scheduled was 12-4, which my tenant took off work half a day to be there, and they did not arrive until 6:28. Other than that, everything else was good. The problem was resolved and my tenants are now able to wash laundry.

I have had Choice for about 5 years. They respond quickly and do send qualified repair companies. That has been my experience. I have had a washer, dryer, microwave, toilets, and recently a refrigerator repaired. All went well. I extended my warranty to 3 years. Should I move, I believe it is transferable.

The technician was very good. He worked very hard and obviously knew what he was doing. He was very friendly and very pleasant to talk to. He discovered another problem and didn't have the part to fix it so will have to come back to fix that part. I would like to stay in touch with Andrew for any future repair needs that I might have. Horrible, paid for a 5 year policy and put in 2 service calls in which never were addressed. The company does not have service providers to do service calls. They close your claim and never provide service and tell you to pay the service provider out of pocket. They may reimburse you but it doesn’t happen. They have you sign and pay a contract, can hold their end of the contract then want to charge you for the cancellation of the contract. Again, they have not been able to provide service for any claim I put in. How many people are they taking money from and are doing the same thing? Choice Warranty is a scam.

Plumber was on time and was very friendly. He got everything squared away. It had nothing to do with the plumbing but an issue with the water conditioner. I had an appointment for 8 am. That was a bit of a problem since I am a widower and had to take my grandkids to school at. 8. I called and explained my situation. I was told they have a 10 minute rule. If I am not there they leave. I had to find someone to cover the few minutes might be late. I came home 8:14. At 8:20 the service dept called to cancel because the serviceman called out and they have no backups. I explained my situation they did not care about my problem. I scheduled for another day and if they are late and can’t finish it is my problem. Now how have to find another person to cover for me the day they show up. No empathy with this company.

If I could give Choice Home Warranty a zero I would, but I can’t. We had a microwave that went out and they only gave us a little bit of money to pay for the microwave. Didn’t even have somebody come out here and put it in. I was out money on that. We had a brand new AC still in warranty. They sent a technician out that brought his kids with him that ran around my yard that I had to watch and still could not fix my unit. I had to get an AC guy out at my house and fix it and it came out of my money. Couldn’t repair my washing machine so they gave me $400 that I had to call for four months in a row to try to get that check and it cost me $800 to replace my washing machine. I just called and canceled a three year warranty that was two years old and they are only going to refund me $270 out of it. This is not acceptable. I paid for a warranty and I should receive my warranty money back. I went with American Home Shield and I am very happy with them.

I was placing a call for cooking range and it asked for its Model and Serial Numbers. I could not complete the call as I did not have that information. I don't know why a model and serial is required to place a service call. I had to call the customer service to place the call which is not very efficient. It also asks the last time the appliance was properly working, which I feel is irrelevant. Making on-line service call should be made easy asking for only the information that is necessary.

Plumber came out Monday evening around 6pm. He did not have the parts and because it was so late stores near us were closed. He said he could come back next evening April 29 later in the day and he never showed up. I called him at 730 and he said he forgot to call me and apologized and said he could stop by in the Morning April 30 9 to 10 am. He never showed up. Called him waiting for his excuse for not showing up this time.

The problem was determined to be the control board by an out of network company, however after testing it seemed to be fine. The Nest thermostat was displaying codes of E4. The power check was fine. Reset the nest and it worked for a 24 hour period, he switched it out with another one in an attempt to isolate the issue. Currently it seems to be cooling both units. This test is an ongoing process.

Choice sent three different technicians who all said that the hot water tank was leaking and needed to be replaced, but Choice would not approve the service. They only wanted to send a fourth technician, who would have said the same thing. I am paying for the replacement myself. Very disappointed with Choice Home Warranty.

I Have been a member since 2017 and every time I had problems with my air conditioner Choice was always quick to act, usually the technician was there the same day I call the problem in, which was great (of course I called 1st thing in the morning) to report the problem. We have a pressure assist toilet that lost pressure and could no longer flush. The assigned company sent us a scheduling text within minutes of our online request for service. Every time I make a claim there’s always an issue with CW claiming they don’t cover this, they don’t cover that!!! What kind of insurance company are you running! After checking the tech observed parts were no long available for our GE refrigerator. Choice decided to give us a gift card with generous amount to replace the refrigerator. This technician had expert knowledge of LG refrigerators and repaired what has been a recurrent problem. He performed the repair quickly and cleaned up the work area where melted ice heated off the fan assembly had made a mess. He also answered several other questions we had about this particular refrigerator, which was in the house when we bought it in 2019. Highly recommend.

Choice Home Warranty sales promises that with the home warranty they will replace same brand product with and if model does not exist, they will replace with equivalent newer model. The company did not honor that, and are only replacing "comparable" product with same functionality. In addition, they will not install new unit into your home. You are on your own for that. No where in their contract states that they will not install new unit into your home.
My home has a dishwasher that was broken, and they company no longer repair this type of unit. As per contract, they needed to replace unit. What they did was sent a $200 gift card to Lowes to buy a replacement unit. The amount of money they give will not come close to replacing a Maytag dish washer. The amount they gave was not even enough to buy a cheap off-brand unit. They refuse to negotiate any further.
Company salesman will say whatever they can to sell you the product then they will let you hang dry. If you plan on cancelling warranty after the contract is signed, they will slap a fee and make you pay for any warranty services you called upon. After hearing that, it would amount to the full cost of the warranty contract because they can charge you whatever FULL price fee (but they only pay a fraction of that cost). In short, once you sign on, you are screwed. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Someone PLEASE start a class action lawsuit against this fraudulent company.

We just had our first claim with the choice warranty. The process was flawless. I submitted my claim online. The online form was simple and easy to use. Within a couple hours I had a an appointment scheduled with an electrician. The electrician who came to my home was very knowledgeable and very professional. Our attic fan had failed, and the electrician installed a brand new attic fan. The whole process only cost us $100 for the service call. We are so glad we bought the warranty.

We have had Choice Home Warranty for 4.5 years. Our experience has been ok. We have had a couple things they have helped with. But I would not count on them for the coverage they claim. If they can they will squirm out of covering anything they can. We have been working for a month trying to get our air-conditioning working and meeting roadblocks along the way at every turn. The tech they send out are not the best and we ended up having to pay out of pocket anyway because they claim that damage is not do to normal wear and tear. If their tech lists anything as a possibility that isn't time they seem to latch onto that and not cover it. I would not go with them as they are not honest and just take your money for the most part.

The claim involving refrigerant was unreasonably denied. It appears that anything involving leaks or diminished refrigerant is not covered by my policy which means most A?/C issues are not covered. This is not clearly pointed out in the agreement but is addressed with obtuse language. My experience with Choice has been otherwise very good but it only takes one event like this to explore alternative warranty options. It take a long time to gain trust and reputation but it can be lost with one failure.

Updated on 05/17/2025: I needed to get my 17-year old HVAC unit replaced and when a contractor did follow thru with repair, they worked with me to secure another more reliable one and waived the inspection fee. With professionalism, they worked with me thru the claims process and now the much needed repair is being completed. Only thing I left one star off for is the fact that they didn’t pay for upgrade on HVAC system and instead of replacing parts for way cheaper, I am now having to go into debt for total system upgrade.

I strongly advise against using Choice Home Warranty. My experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. They advertise quick, reliable service, but in reality, they do very little to help once you file a claim. I paid the service fee as required, but they repeatedly sent out contractors who can never complete the job or say that it has to do with something else, gave vague diagnoses, or claimed the issue wasn’t covered—even when it clearly should have been based on the contract. Each time I tried to get resolution, I was met with delays, excuses, and ultimately a refusal to complete the repairs.
It feels like their strategy is to collect service fees and deny coverage based on technicalities. In the end, I had to pay out-of-pocket to fix the problem myself, despite having an active warranty. Avoid this company if you want peace of mind or real support when things break down. I’ve given Choice Home Warranty multiple chances to make things right, continuing to pay them monthly with the hope they would honor their service commitment. Unfortunately, all I’ve received in return are empty promises, service fees, and no real help.
Every time I filed a claim, I was either told the repair wasn’t covered for questionable reasons, or a technician would come out and leave without doing any work. It’s clear they’re more interested in collecting fees than actually providing repairs. Despite ongoing payments and several attempts to resolve issues, nothing has been completed. This company is not dependable, and I feel misled. If you’re considering a home warranty plan, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. They only take Zelle or credit cards NO CHECKS!

Overall experience was satisfactory from calling in our problem to the quality service person that came to our home. The wait time to secure a serviceman was several days after we registered our problem. The company was having difficulty in finding local services. We requested that they would continue to search out service personnel within New Mexico. They were able to employ Lopez Appliance of Los Cruces and Ariel came and examined our dishwasher. He contacted CHW for us and we received confirmation and a timely response.

Our furnace stopped working on December, second, 2024. We filed a claim and it was promptly answered an a contractor, responded within a couple days. He then made repeated efforts to repair our furnace throughout the next two and a half months. On February17 he sort of got the furnace to work but it didn't last. I again filed a claim for the same issue, but of course it being 37 days after the first claim was closed, we had to pay another $100 service fee. CHW sent a different contractor this time, because my husband ha voiced his concern that the young man that was originally attempting to repair our furnace was not qualified. This contractor very quickly diagnosed the issue and sent the work order into CHW. It took less than 15 minutes for them to come back with a denial of the claim. The contractor called me completely confused as to why it would be denied.
I immediately called and was informed that apparently between February 17th and March 23rd, rust had magically appeared on a pipe coming into our furnace that meant there had been water damage that caused the failure of my furnace. The claim that was opened on December second 2024, made no mention of this and was approved, If the claim was good and approved in 2024, 3 months later would not have changed the parameters of my warranty.
This was an excuse plain a simple to deny a claim that may have resulted in the possibility of the furnace needing to be replaced. Which is what the first technician said on February 17th when he left our home. The claims appeal specialist I was assigned was abrupt and rude, I spoke to 3 of them and was given almost verbatim the same response. We have since cancelled our contract as CHW does not honor the contract anyway, so why keep paying.

I was very pleased that Brown HVAC services (a subsidiary of CHW); verified my A/C unit defection very quickly. He identified and acknowledged the problem. His final analysis was to wait for CHW reconnect with me in order to get the A/C issue resolved. He assured me that I will be taken care of immediately due to the rise in temperature. I believe the quality of their contractors has improved over the years. This last experience with the A/C was very good. The major issue I have is that there is always something that is a problem with the "repair" that is not covered. It would seem to me that if you have an issue and the unit is "covered" then even if that item was not the reason for the call then it should still be repaired to prevent another call.

There were problems in two bathroom toilet flushing. One almost no water was coming in to the tank and in another one not enough water was coming into the tank. Furthermore, stop direct scheduling, and require subcontractors to contact customers directly ASAP when they receive the order. It truly save time, frustration and aggravation. I was in the process of signing up with Choice Home Warranty and gave Luke my credit card number. I was interested in paying by the month but Luke tried to pressure me into paying 6 years upfront for much better terms. I told him I wasn’t interested. Then he tried to get me to pay 3.5 years upfront for better terms. Again, I told him not interested. Then he put me on hold to ask his manager if I could get an even better deal if I paid the 3.5 years upfront. SO FAKE!!! I told him I didn’t like the way he does business but told him that I’d have to talk to my wife and I’d call him back. He didn’t even give me time to talk to my wife and called me back first. While I was waiting for my wife to get out of the shower I just happened to check my bank account and noticed Luke charged my card $798 without my permission.
When I confronted him about the charge he said, "Well…You gave me your credit card number." I told him I never gave him permission to charge my card and I wanted him to refund my money. Then It was like a big argument and I was redirected to someone else and they told me I’d get my money back within 30 days. 30 days? You’re kidding! Right? Then it was multi phone calls, lots of my time on hold, more people trying to save the deal with better terms. UGG!!! I just want my money back! So Finally, after many phone calls, lots of time on hold and three days later I got my refund. Never Again Choice! Worst Experience EVER!!! And Luke? He wanted to call me names but didn’t want to get in trouble so he just told me to never call him again! LOL… No Worries Luke! You won’t have to worry about that…

The claim was handled in a fair amount of time. There was a little confusion to start - the claim was assigned to the manufacturer who assigned it to one of their approved serviced companies. That company was unable to service a gas appliance in my State. After several phone calls, CHW reassigned the claim. The new company came the next day and fixed the issue.

I’m simply in awe at the silliness of what’s covered under these policies. It cost us $100 for the service charge to only be told by the very nice provider that the plastic part of the timer dial isn’t covered. Amazon had one for $6.41 and now to find another person to come fix it. No issues with filing the claim or the scheduling of appointment. That was the easy part. Still no dryer.

My JennAir cooktop was not repairable. CHW offered $389 for a replacement. I called their representative and told him it was $250 to have a new gas cooktop delivered and installed and that meant all he was offering was $139 for the purchase price. I was told “Sorry, that’s all a magic price list that he had allowed him to offer." I pointed out that made no sense. When I get my small claims date it will cost them much more to have someone fly to Nevada and represent them. I was told to sue them because that’s all they were allowed to offer. This is not a company that understands fairness or customer service.

The technician was thorough in his inspection of my AC units and he check the freon in the units but they didn't need any. He checked the setting of the thermostat and determined the problem was the thermostat was not set right. He reset it and has been working just fine.

I wish I could give Choice Home Warranty zero stars. After signing up in 2024, we watched them repeatedly fail to live up to even the most basic promise of “peace of mind.”
We first submitted a claim for a leaking water heater in early March, and heard…crickets. Follow-up calls and emails went unanswered for weeks. When you literally pay for service and get silence in return, that’s not “protection”—it’s robbery.
• Sketchy Service ProvidersWhen they finally replied, they sent out hand-picked “technicians” who looked like they were still in high school. One showed up in a beat-up truck, didn’t bring the right parts, and charged us extra to “order” components that should have been covered. Their “approved” network must be the lowest bidder in the sketchiest corner of town.
• Coverage ShenanigansThe final insult: a simple water-heater repair, clearly spelled out in our policy, was flatly denied. Their customer-service rep insisted it “wasn’t covered,” and refused to even show us the clause in our contract that supposedly backs them up. It’s one thing to mismanage claims; it’s another to lie about your own policy.
Bottom line: Choice Home Warranty sold us false security, wasted our time (and money), and then gaslit us when we asked them to honor their agreement. Do yourself a favor: put that premium toward a certified local plumber—at least they’ll pick up the phone.

Our technician was friendly and helpful. Great information on what was wrong and the path to repair. Our only issue is that it did take a few days to get him there. I think this is simply because Choice has a limited number of contractors that they can mobilize. It's easy to file a claim but the claim may not be addressed as quickly as you would like.

After searching for a one stop shop with a house that close to 7000 ft.² I signed the contract with this company that does not deserve more than one star. They are scammers. They will bring to your home several contractors just so they will charge you to tell you the same exact thing. And then will try to sell you or tell you what needs to be done and I had here in my house companies that told me “I am telling you right now that whatever I’m going to write, they will deny you no matter what “…. All of them were right. I spent more money by given to people who did not know what they were saying or doing then the yearly membership that they literally did not spend any money from their pocket and will pressure you to add more details to your agreement that in small prints that you cannot even read. Will basically deny what they were claiming that they will do🎤…
If you want to give free money away, give it to Wounded Warrior - or to No Kid Hungry or to animal shelters, but not to this company that on surface on the website, everything looks great but when it comes to do what they’re supposed to do good luck— First to get someone on the phone is mission impossible- If you get someone on the phone is from the Philippines or from another country in Asia- You have to make a claim so you will get someone on the phone from the US. That they will tell you “You only work with the best and you gonna be in great hands… We are on it ASAP”… Yes they’re sending a company that the technician don’t have state license. Some were their first days. Did not know how to handle the problems and made up stuff that in front of them calling a company that doing the same exact thing asking for the same exact question.

Repair knew what he was looking for and had brought the part with in event he had been correct in his assumption. 30 min. and he was packed an on his way. Washing machine noise was gone. Six months ago I had one of the two springs replaced. There was one broken and they were put on at the same time years ago. This month the other broke. I tried to get both replaced at once but it was determined only one would get replaced back then. We should have had them both replaced back in October of 2024. It seems double the work had to be performed because of this issue of only one spring broke and I knew the other would break in less of a year. Seems like the proper work should have to be both changed out back in October.

My attic fan louvers were not opening and then the motor stopped. I placed a claim stating that the louvers would not open. I was allowed to open a claim for an item that was not covered. It stated ceiling and exhaust fans. Choice calls it "whole house fan". Different terminology used. I paid my service call fee and still have a broken fan. I feel as though I should not have been allowed to open a claim on an item that was not covered. Huge waste of time and money.

The guy first text me at 9:30a on the day he came out. That was 4-5 days after I called. But he was thorough in finding the problem and rectifiy the problem. The only complaint I have is the Representative spoke very poor English. After speaking with her I wasn’t sure what she said. I also requested a plumber to repair my kitchen faucet. I’ve yet to hear anything on it.

Tim from Denver Rooter Man was on-time, polite, described the diagnosis, and proceeded to clear the blockage. Took about 2/1/2 hrs, so it wasn't an easy fix, but he made it happen and also left the work site as clean as could be expected. Very pleased with the work, and I would recommend Tim to anyone with a plumbing line problem.

Washer was not repairable and Choice offered us $406, in an e-credit at Lowe's to replace it. What we did not realize is the process can take up to 30 days before we get the credit. The kicker is you can not use the credit to pay on your Lowe's account. It can only be used for purchases. So we have to wait or purchase a new washer and use the credit for something else. Do not understand why Choice could not send the credit directly to us. No family can wait 30 days to replace a washer.

I looked up the top home warranty companies and Choice Home was at the top. I requested a quote and received a call back within a few hours. The warranty cost was close to a $20 difference on one house. I called a week later and added a 2nd home and received more than a $50 difference. I put a claim with Choice Home Warranty Services, they dispatched GK Mechanical. They came the next day. GK Mechanical came at the time that I was available to see them and diagnosed my HVAC system and repaired it in 45 minutes. Todd was very professional and helpful. The experience with the "person" who came out to see what the problem I was having was fine. He explained the situation and told me that he would be sending the information to you, "Choice Warranty" and that you would be getting back to me to see what would be covered. Well, to my surprise the problem was NOT COVERED. I was VERY disappointed to hear that. I thought when you get a warranty you actually have it covered when a problem occurs under it... I guess there is so much "fine" print that you actually have to print out to read, that NOTHING is actually covered under the warranty.

Hot water spout had much lower flow on the main floor bathroom sinks. The technician from Harrisburg plumbing fixed. The company does not follow-up on their contractors. For example, I had to pay two $85 deductibles because they did not follow up on a plumber who said he would be back with parts and never showed up. When I went to inquire about it, they had me start the process all over and pay for a second time the deductible. I also feel they will find a reason not to cover big ticket items. My A/C unit for example. 15-year-old (end of its lifecycle I'm told by multiple professionals in the HVAC field) unit needed replacement, and they claim it was because I did not do proper preventive maintenance over the years. When you say you did, they say prove it. They didn't cover it, and I had to pay out of pocket.

Our second floor air conditioner was not cooling. The breaker in the breaker box didn’t pop so it looked like it was good. The technician came, realize that the breaker box had flipped, but didn’t show it in the panel so he flipped the breaker back. The unit was working. He checked to make sure that the system was cooling and everything was working properly. Was polite, conscientious, and took care of the issue quickly.

Terrible experience. I had this contract for over 3 years and the first claim I made was a complete nightmare. My stovetop microwave stopped turning. First I paid $75 as required for a technician to assess it. He came in spent about 1 minute and declared they don't make these parts any longer which when I checked with WhirlPool was false. He said he would recommend Choice replace it. Choice offered me first $200 and then went up to $300 although replacing the microwave would cost $1100. When I complained about the price difference offered and price to replace the woman Leslie said, "If you don't like it cancel the policy for a refund". She never explained to me that canceling it would result in a refund of 211 and not the 1300 I paid.
Also she never said that by canceling my claim would then be canceled even though they approved the claim for 300. When she mentioned this to me after the fact I told her immediately not to cancel and then she replied it is done and too late. Also how can a claim that was approved while the policy was active then be withdrawn because the policy was canceled not by me but by Leslie their rep after the fact. By the way the 300 they offered was in Lowe's gift card not in cash. This entire experience is so ridiculous it is beyond belief. When Leslie canceled my policy I got an email saying thanks for my years with the company and said if I would like to reinstate just call back. I called back immediately to reinstate it and then after days of haggling they tell me a review board has decided not to reinstate me. This is total fraud.

The garage door spring broke and we were unable to get the car out of the garage to go to our doctor's appointments. I made an online claim and a technician showed up at my home in less than 30 minutes. He had my garage spring replaced in less than 30 minutes and we were able to make it to one of our appointments. I’ve had CHW for four years. When I first signed up, my husband had passed away, and I was in Kentucky by myself. I decided to get the coverage because I didn’t have anyone there to call if something went wrong. That’s how I came to feel it was a good idea to have this service in place.
Submitting a claim has never been difficult. I always called their number because I prefer talking to a person and they’ve been very helpful and process the claim right away.
I had a couple of claims in Kentucky, and I don’t think they have a large network of providers there because I had trouble getting people to come out for covered repairs. A few times, I had a problem.
One time, it was my microwave. The technician had to travel quite a distance, and it took three visits to fix it, but it got repaired. Another time, I called about an electrical issue, and they never did get anyone out to fix it. I ended up hiring someone on my own.
From what I understand, they post the job on their system, and whichever service provider chooses to take it picks it up, schedules the appointment, and then notifies you. I think they try, but availability seems to be the issue.
Some of the providers they scheduled for me didn’t show up. I called to report it, and both of us tried to reach the technician, but we could never get in touch. Then they had to repost the job to find someone else. If they can’t find a provider, they ask you to get your own estimate, send it to them for approval, and then pay out of pocket. That process doesn’t work very well. I've never really done that.
Other times, I’ve had no issues, the provider made an appointment, came right away, and fixed the problem without any trouble. It’s been much better since I moved back to Michigan. They have more service providers here, it’s not a problem. However, I’ve spoke with some service technicians, and they’ve said that many providers don’t take the jobs because the company doesn’t pay them enough.
I’ve had both good and bad experiences. This past winter, I had trouble with my furnace. A technician came out and replaced some parts. I only paid the $65 service fee, and I imagine the repair would have cost a few hundred dollars. I was satisfied with that. Since I’ve been here, they’ve also fixed my washing machine.
He replaced a part in the washer, which is about 10 years old. Even though I paid the $65 service fee, that probably would have covered someone coming out to look at it and let alone the cost of parts and labor. I was in a situation where it made more sense to have coverage and let someone handle the repairs rather than trying to find reliable help in an area I wasn’t familiar with. It’s definitely better here in Michigan than Kentucky.
They could improve by making sure providers are responsible and show up for appointments. I’ve had at least two instances where someone was scheduled, and I waited at home, but they never called or showed up. That definitely needs improvement. They need to screen their service providers more carefully.

I submitted a claim to Choice Home Warranty on March 31 for a broken A/C unit. After multiple delays, a technician finally came 10 days later (April 10), diagnosed a leak, and recommended replacement. CHW wrongly denied my claim, saying the unit was under manufacturer warranty — which it is not (I confirmed this directly with Carrier). Once escalated to a case manager (Yuselin **), she realized the first tech had submitted paperwork for the wrong unit (Lennox instead of Carrier). A second company came on April 17 but failed to take required photos. Now CHW says they can’t proceed without those photos and I have to either keep waiting or start all over again with a third company. It’s now April 24 — I’ve been without A/C for 24 days, despite doing everything on my part. The lack of urgency, accountability, and coordination from Choice Home Warranty is completely unacceptable. I do not recommend them to anyone.

Delay in replacing washing machine. Can’t do laundry without a washer, long wait period for gift card from Lowe’s. Why doesn’t CHW issue gift card directly? I am told it will be up to 30 days before I get Lowe’s gift card. I feel this is very poor service and most people do laundry more often than every 30 days.
