    I never got to experience anything because I was told that descaling a tankless hot water heater is maintenance and not covered under home warranty. But I thought that’s why I bought the home warranty. I will have to read my contract next time but quick response very knowledgeable tech.

    If I could give negative stars, I would. This company is a complete SCAM! 4 claims were filed for various repairs that should have been covered. Only 1 out of the 4 claims filed was covered. They always found some reason to deny all claims. Each item I filed claims for things that were listed as covered, they will find any loophole they can in their fine print that they don't advertise to deny all claims. It was a huge fight to get a water heater replaced in the dead of winter which was advertised on my policy as covered. I finally had to cancel after the 4th claim was denied for supplemental/additional coverage I paid for and was denied for again. Save yourself the trouble and search for a reputable company that actually covers what they claim. Oh, and getting a refund is impossible because they prorate "coverage" months even if they didn't cover anything.

    Any claims covered get weighed and prorated against the refund too. So once you pay the year coverage, it's gone. You won't be refunded because they definitely will find a way to keep all of it. Shady business practices, shady coverage, shady staff. They need to be held accountable for the scam that they are. They should also have to refund everyone in full for baiting customers and not following through on anything they advertise. Funny thing too is that after I requested to cancel they blocked and cut my account access on their website to see the claims I have filed. Meaning they're trying to hide what they're doing. All email contact varied because you're required to use their online contact then you receive emails from multiple people that aren't in contact with each other. In total I lost the initial cost of coverage for the year, and 3 claims that should have been covered were outright denied.

    The cold water pressure valve is stuck in the open position and causing water to run continuously. The valve needs to be replaced.     Absolutely furious with the plumbing service sent through Choice Home Warranty. The technician was completely incompetent — installed the wrong part, did a sloppy, careless job, and had no idea how to fix the problem when confronted. I had to kick him out before he caused even more damage. This is NOT what I pay for. Now I'm left with a non-functional bathtub tap and shower, and hours of my time wasted dealing with this mess. Do NOT buy this home warranty. If this is the kind of “service” they provide, you're better off paying out of pocket for a real professional. Totally unreliable and beyond frustrating.

    This is by far the worst company of any kind we have ever dealt with. They did everything they could to deny our claims, both of which were qualified within our contract. When they respond to a potential claim, they send you subcontracted companies that don't even exist or have a 1 star rating, some not even speaking English.     The work was completed by a serviceman. It took 20 minutes and cost me a service fee of $100. Seems a bit pricey.     Water heater was leaking. We had to shut the water heater off and drain the water heater of water to prevent water flooding the garage. Every time we showered we would have to turn it on so we would have enough hot water. The service men were very nice and replaced the heater within a few hours.     On May 7th my garbage disposal quit working. My. Son thought the blades were jammed, but in checking, that was not the problem. May 8th I called my. Choice Home Warranty. I explained what my problem is. Within an hour after my call, I got an Email giving me the name "TB Plumbing" and phone number, it also gave me a next day appointment and estimated time. They also suggested I call to confirm the appointment. Upon doing so, I was able to set a better time schedule.

    On the 9th the technician arrived promptly and took a picture of the disposal to get model and serial numbers also was able to tell the age of the unit. He was not even 5 minutes in my home.     Have had the policy for a few months now and sure enough we moved in finally. The A/C unit stopped working. I called and they gave me the option to call someone within a week. I just moved here and did not know anyone. Soooo I let them schedule it with this bird dog HVAC (don't ever recommend). After two more weeks they were supposed to be here. Nope. A complete no show, and not even a phone call.

    I had a toilet issue. My main toilet started leaking after I given it a flush after. I let a good amount of feces go into the toilets. I gave it a flush to get the feces to move down the pipeline and then I gave the toilet another flush to clear the lines, and that's when it started leaking all over the bathroom floor..     They are difficult to get ahold of. You always have to request a callback, and sometimes it takes hours, days, or not at all. They do not have many technicians in some areas, making you wait weeks to months for a vendor to be assigned. If you opt for the claim reimbursement option they will not pay you. They will find some little loophole you missed, even if you speak to a rep and they tell you exactly what you should do and tell you everything you’re doing fine and you follow that the letter- they will say that doesn’t matter and not cover the claim.

    They give you a complaint phone number where you can actually speak to someone who picks up the phone ONLY once you try to file a complaint with the BBB. That speaks volumes. If you don’t see the number before you file a complaint, that number can’t help you so it’s back to dealing with “leave a number for callback”. Ridiculous.

    Yeah the plans are cheap and they sound good, but better to just put money aside and fix things as they come up. I’m disappointed and confused how Consumer Affairs has the is scam of a company so highly rated. And have honestly lost all confidence in these reports, because there is no way this business can be rated as highly as it is without paid reviews or kickbacks.

    Ridiculous 5 week wait to have this addressed. First tech came out in 2 weeks and walked away mumbling that he did not know how to fix this type of ice maker. Then why come out here??? My issue was again posted on the site for a technician to SELECT from the list. These repairs are not assigned to a company, but simply listed on a site and the various repair companies choose who gets service and when. If you are not in an area where there are a number of repairs and techs you can wait for a very long time as I did. My issue could have been solved over the phone but there was no number to contact anyone. Money wasted to say the least.

    The whole experience was absolute very irritable. Choice manager called and ask me to sent estimates from my contractor. I sent them two invoices and was told that the first invoice was too low. My contractor insist that he was going to install the system for what I had sent Choice Home Warranty because I am a Texas Licensed Realtors and he does work for JPAR Real Estate. They are now saying that they can only give me a $1015.00 because I want to use my contractor. The whole explanation from their contractor seems to be unscrupulous because they want me to pay them a labor cost of $3700.00 in the part.

    I have found that Choice home warranty is fairly good And service appointments are fairly the expedient. The problem I have is when you call about an issue. Or any kind of a problem, no matter how minor, You are usually connected to a person who has such a strong accent, It is extremely difficult to communicate. I honestly do believe that call centers should be staffed by those who can be easily understood and have good command of the English language. Some of the staff members additionally repeat things Unnecessarily. It is not necessary to be thanked 10 to 12 times in a 5 minute conversation. And it seems to just be a way to hedge for time in making a decision how to deal with the call. Is that being sad, I have been satisfied with the service providers and the outcome of repairs.

    I've requested a water heater repair three separate times. Each time was a different service provider. Due to this, the same repair was made, but it failed all three times. Moreover, having three separate vendors and no communication between them complicates the repair and inconveniences the tenant. I'd recommend that if a client calls for the same item to be repaired within 90 days, either warranty the item or waive the service fee. Additionally, some form of communication has to take place of previous repairs,.

    Choice Home Warranty did not like the assessment of Sears repairman on A/C unit problem so they sent my claim out to another company Chillax. This A/C company's repair gave same assessment as Sears that I needed replacement of the air compressor. Once Home Choice received the confirmation.     Choice Home Warranty took approximately 2 months to get a technician out to address an error code on my boiler system. The technician contracted, identified a faulty relay panel and came back when the part was available. When he came back, he wired the system incorrectly such that we lost all heating and domestic hot water to the home. This was on a Saturday evening, because it seemed the technician only worked Friday evening or Saturdays. When we identified that the system was not heating and we had no hot water, we reached out to CHW and the technician to attempt to get a speedy resolution. We were told the only option was to wait until the following Friday (6 days later) to have them come back.

    We reached out and told them that we need a resolution faster than that because we had no heat or hot water in our home and were told there was nothing else we could do but wait. We found our own technician to come in first thing Monday morning and identified that the previous tech had wired the relay incorrectly which was causing the issue. CHW would not reimburse the cost of our techincian despite the fact that we reached out in advance to allow them the opportunity to solve the problem. The entire process took way too long and ultimately, I had to pay out-of-pocket to resolve an issue created by their unqualified technician. Buyer beware that they will use every possible loophole, or clause in the agreement not to take care of their clients and the issues that their technician created. Escalated this all the way through the BBB and was told the only further dispute method was arbitration.

    Avoid Choice Home Warranty. We just bought a house, and as a precaution, we wanted the security of a home warranty. Well, we feel we've been duped by CHW. Here is the low down: Choice Home Warranty refused to repair our washing machine. This has left us feeling cheated and distrustful. They claimed we “misused” the appliance but provided zero evidence, just a vague excuse to deny my claim. This feels like a scam, as if CHW collects premiums ($46/month) and service fees ($100 per claim) only to weasel out of honoring their contract. Their Total Plan promises coverage for “all components and parts” of washers, yet they dismissed my valid claim without justification, forcing me to possibly pay for repairs out-of-pocket. As a family in Gastonia, NC, this disruption and cost will hurt, especially with no transparency from CHW’s customer service.

    Our instinct says avoid CHW—they seem more interested in profiting than providing service. I urge others to trust their gut and choose a reliable warranty provider instead.     When I was sold a policy, I was told that despite the remoteness of my location, there'd be a technician for whatever items in the policy was covered. I insisted that there are no technicians here but was convinced that there were measure in place to ensure coverage. Fast forward 7 months later to 05/06/2025. Dishwasher failed and claim initiated. No correspondence or contact for one month until I initiated the contact. I was told the issue would be escalated. One week later, no update. I called to cancel the policy and was asked to give them 24 hours, and the issue would be resolved.

    5 days later, I initiated the call again. I spent 17 minutes with the cancellation rep who wanted to know what I was going to do next to resolve my issue. When I stated it was no longer their problem and just wanted a full refund, I was told there would be no full refund only a partial. The representative stated it was my fault for knowing that there were no technicians available but believed the salesperson. Therefore, she could only refund half of the initial charge.

    If I could move forward with this review without selecting a star it would be 0. This company persuades you with a great spill on switching over to their company. I moved from ARW to them and within a week with them my hot water tank went out. They denied it within 1 hr of reviewing, reason was maintenance that wasn't performed. My house was built in 2022, I closed Nov 2022. My hot water heater was 2years 6 months old, is it possible to go out? "Yes Maybe" there was water back flowing into the tank, later found out we had a hose stopped up outside. Once the new hot water tank was installed and the contractor left the same issue was occurring, water back up... the contractor was called and consulted of this, once we unstopped the hose everything begin to function as it should.

    The contractor was very nice!!! The company on the other hand sucks. I'm leaving them and I will make sure anyone thinks about carrying them as a warranty company will be worked of the risks!! I rebutted and asked for a meet, the meeting was held by Patricia M, whom tried to give me $85 credit toward a future service fee. I told her I just spent $864 to be exact and all you can focus on is $85, I told her to keep it because I don't plan to be with them in the future. Can't really speak how I want, got to keep it professional. But I am definitely speaking this in my head. Choices? There are better warranty CHOICES!

    CHW could not provide a technician for the repairs and offered a reimbursement option. My technician came out, diagnosed the problem and sent the pictures the link provided. I was told a response would be given in 10-15 minutes. Some time later the technician was notified that more pictures were required which he sent. He was then notified that the claim had been denied and that I (the customer) would receive an explanation later by email. Since the claim was denied the work was completed and charged to my credit card. Later I received an email stating the CHW needed more information in order to make a determination. I contacted the service provider who responded to CHW. Later I received another email stating the claim was denied because the work had been completed prior to approval. Not only am I extremely disappointed in CHW but I plan to file with the BBB and retain a lawyer.

I re-opened the claim and it was denied, leaving me with a mis-matched system and no AC.As a result, I went the month of April without a working AC. I have children and pets and live in Texas.
