Gary's Maintenance contacted me and scheduled a service call...he called Monday morning and asked if he could come in 30 minutes. I was elated as the air conditioning was not working, and even in November, the temperature in the house had reached 85 degrees.     I am not unsatisfied with Home Warranty but the heating people you contracted with they arrived around 3:30pm. after giving me a window of 10am until 12 noon. They called around 2:45 to tell me he was on his way. He was very polite; however, he installed a new thermostat and put it up on the wall crooked. Even I, a total nonprofessional, use a level when hanging something on the wall. Well, you asked.

    I switched to Choice Warranty because of their low cost 4-plex insurance and low service call fees compared to other home warranty coverage. I continued with my previous insurance company for two months as I had my concerns with Choice Warranty coverage. I think I made the best decision by switching over to Choice because of their expeditious and reliable services. To date, I have used them for multiple times and have had no problems.     I have Choice Home warranty. A service man came out to check my central heating unit. They rejected the claim because they say it wasn't properly maintain. The electronic circuit board is acting up. I want to know how do you maintain a circuit board. I think they didn't want to pay.

    I just stumbled upon this company through something in my computer and ended up choosing CHW over the others because of the price. I have multiple properties and CHW gave me a group rate. I thought other warranty companies had not offered that to me…

    I’ve only had Choice since August and I’ve had to use them 3 times. I live in a rural area and they have to bring the plumbers and electricians from Las Vegas so it takes longer than it should to get a service call. But customer service really tried to take care of the business and they will let you, with approval, hire local people which I had one time because of the heat when the air conditioner wasn’t working. I believe it was either late August or early September when the problem came up. Only thing is, I had to call maybe 3 times to get the paperwork that I needed, the form to send in to get reimbursed, and they have yet to reimburse me for my out-of-pocket expense. I need to call them and do a follow-up to see because it’s been quite a few weeks (I know sometimes they don’t get on to it right away).

    I went online and some folks had given some good testimonials about Choice Warranty. And I did a comparative analysis and Choice was picked… It’s kind of funny because I had the Choice Home Warranty only for about a month and my air conditioner at my home went out. In Florida, you can’t survive without an air conditioner more than a day. My wife was passing out, called up Choice. That following Monday, they came out to the house, had a repairman fix the problem. The system went down a second time while he was standing there. He fixed the second problem and all was good. Their services have been great. The responsiveness has been good and quality of work has been good also. They were excellent! I would recommend it to a friend.

    I had American Home Shield then Choice Home emailed me so I called them up. They provided the same insurance and it was less expensive so I made the switch. I’ve had them for 3 and a half years and I haven’t used it the first year and then my furnace went out. The company that was sent out didn’t quite fix it correct so I called them back and they said that their ticket is already closed, that I have to call Choice again, which I did, and they never called back or never came (the subcontractor) to fix the furnace - they didn’t follow through. When I called Choice, that was great. But it’s from the technician to my house, that’s where the ball gets dropped. Clerical is good but subcontractors aren’t the best.

    Having been a customer of CHW for over a couple of years I have used them a few times. Overall my experience has been okay, but my recent experience was noteworthy. I had a water leak and the company that was originally assigned could not respond for over three days. Keep in mind my water was totally shut off. I contacted CHW and they re-assigned my claim to another company. What a joy! This businessman was in all respects the epitome of a proactive businessman. He surveyed my problem, fixed it despite his attempts to get approval from CHW. He left me feeling as if I was important to him and CHW. His standards were high and noteworthy in all respects.     I had a water leak under my house. The plumber made contact the night before where I was able to have a conversation re: the service call. He gave me an approx. time of arrival and arrived well within the time frame he indicated. He contacted me again when he was on his way which I appreciated. We could not find the problem at first but he patiently inspected everything until we located the issue. He was very friendly, respectful and informative about what he had found.     We contacted Choice Warranty to have a built in microwave repaired at our home. The microwave was only working intermittently.     We were with Home Shield and they had raised their price to $85 per callout. I was contacted by Choice Home and they said that I would only have to pay $45 so I got in. However the second time submitting a claim was not so good. The first time, it was okay, except I think that maybe their customer service needs to be trained a little more because of the simple fact one doesn’t know what the other one’s doing. When you call in to file a claim, the problem is that it doesn’t necessarily immediately go to where it needs to be. That’s one thing that Home Shield did. And then, within a certain amount of time, you got a call back.

    The first time and the second time, I had to call Choice Home back and say, “Hey, I’m still waiting for a call from somebody.” So I think the problem is that they don’t have enough repair people in our area ready to go when people call. I was really pretty pissed off with my second experience because I live in Texas and it is freaking hot and my air conditioner went out. I called Saturday morning and said, “Look, my air conditioner’s out. I need somebody to come and look at my air conditioner.” I didn’t get anybody at my house until Tuesday. I called them on Monday. They hadn’t even received my claim yet. I gave them the number and then they started jumping through hoops because they knew I had called and opened a claim that they hadn’t seen yet. And so, I went through the whole thing. Then the service guy’s secretary would tell me one thing and then he would call and tell me something else. Then I would call Choice Home.

    We had to go buy a window unit because we were without air conditioning. So my call cost me $45 for the callout and $200 for the window unit, and I had my grandson who was already sick. What I got out of it was a free month if I have to call them out again. I could have called somebody out for $245. But I’m locked in with them because when I did it, it was like a 5 year thing or something to get my whatever. And that’s okay because the first run, it took them a day to do what they had to do, but they did get it done.

    I’m thinking everybody deserves another chance so I’m just kind of like, “I got to tell the supervisor.” When I finally got through to somebody, he was like, “I’m going to call you back tomorrow to make sure everything’s okay.” Well, he never called me. I had to call him and I’m like, “Look man, seriously, you all need to reevaluate how you all handle things because this is not good business.” My husband’s like, “I need a good repairman because this is broken and this is broken.” I’m thinking, “Oh please, don’t let it happen to somebody that I recommended it.”

    I heard about Choice Home Warranty through a friend of the family, and they didn’t have any problems with it so I chose them. But I’m kind of disappointed. I was unhappy/happy with the claim because when I did purchase the warranty, he said they will replace the unit, if it’s covered. The range top microwave is not working. But they will give me the minimum money, which I wasn’t happy about. They offered me $165. It’s hard for me to find something similar to that for $165. I told them about it a couple of times, but they did not do anything.

    All you hard working consumers out there please take my advice concerning Choice Home Warranty seriously. Don't Do It! Don't Do It! Shortly after contracting with this company my covered air condition failed. I paid the $60.00 for their repairman to come out and diagnosed the problem (who only looked at the unit an immediately assessed that system had a leak). No Kidding! CHW then required I provide receipts for maintenance upkeep and I did. They then requested that I have a leak test performed to determine where the unit was leaking (leak test not covered by CHW). Therefore, a paid another repairman to perform a leak test then provided the service order to CHW. I never heard from CHW so I called and eventually was told my a/c was not covered. CHW wants your money and careless about repairing your contracted items. Don't Do It! Don't Do It!

    I work 11 hours a day and I am rarely home. Sunday as I was doing dishes my garbage disposal broke. My sink was full of water and I didn't know what I would do.     I cannot brag enough about Choice Home Warranty! We have had the coverage just a few months and nearly chose NOT to sign up for it. But thank goodness we did. We had good working appliances... Why did we need to spend probably useless money on them? WRONG! Soon after our "waiting period" was over, our washing machine decided to flood our kitchen! The longest delay was my not calling ASAP, repair done and serviceman GONE within hours after call. Another few weeks pass and our dryer runs for hours and there's no heat.     Choice Home Warranty called and placed two service calls that needed to be ASAP, which we did. We called for approval on both service calls and they rejected both. We did the bill just as they requested and then called and said "don't call us for anymore service calls since you wouldn't let us repair anything." This was done 5/30/13 and as of today 11/12/13 I still have not received either payment. I have called several times and they are very rude and won't pay.

    Both providers provided professional, courteous, and timely repairs to (i) indoor plumbing and (ii) the clothes drier.

    (i) The indoor faucets were not working (extremely low water pressure). The Quality Water tech quickly identified and found an obstruction in the piping and removed it. The indoor plumbing now works as new.

    (ii) The clothes drier stopped heating (drying) the clothes. The Appliance Repair-Humble tech arrived on time, analyzed the problem and quickly replaced a broken switch.     I’ve had Choice for about 4 years now on rental property. They gave me a few months free or something like that is what drove me to it. I wasn’t prepared for the cost of it and just do it for catastrophic failure.

    When I submit a claim normally it’s pretty good response. All of the claims representatives have been good. I don’t think I’ve had a problem. Maybe a small problem with one, but it was addressed by the supervisor. They got involved so I’ve been satisfied with that. I’ve had a few issues in the past with just being delayed if it’s a weekend. I was out of town and then something happened on Friday night. The air conditioning wasn’t working, it’s 100 degrees in Texas. Maybe I wasn’t aware of what you could do in an emergency, but that process was a little slow.

    I’ve had hit and miss with the contractors they use. Some of them good, some of them bad. The last case was an issue where a problem with the washer was misdiagnosed, but they rectified it. They ended up paying out $350, $400 when it couldn’t be fixed. So we were satisfied with that. Basically, that’s why I have it. It’s what it’s there for... It’s a warranty. So when the renters have a problem, then I don’t have to put a bunch of money into appliances for them.

    About two weeks ago I had a claim with this company, and they sent me a service technician to check my heat. The technician told me that the electronic card was bad and it needed to be replaced. After several missed appointments (from the technician's end), I called the warranty company and asked for a new technician. They then sent me an email denying my claim. They said that after they talked to the technician, there was no need for the card to be changed. When I called customer service back, they were rude to the point that they hung up on me. I asked them to conference me with the technician, but they refused. They were confrontational, and made little effort to solve the problem. I feel like they took my money and were not going to help.

    Hot water heater leaked. Guess what? CHW doesn't cover replacing a tank that goes bad. SERIOUSLY??? ARE YOU ** kidding me? If a hot water heater fails, 99.9% of the time it is the TANK! Had American Home Shield before and they replaced hot water tank without question.     We have had CHW for about 3 months and our well pump went out. We called and the text arrived 2 hours late. The tech found it was a switch that went bad. He called CHW to get to ok to fix it. CHW said the switch was not covered. We asked what is covered. He stated that the well pump only. So we pay extra for the well pump but anything that makes the well pump work is not covered?     Repairmen came to our house and our stove needed $420-ISH of repairs, and Choice Home Warranty would not cover it, so the repairmen said they would buy us a new stove. Yeah is what I thought, and angry is felt. We bought our house brand new 7 years ago, and they are giving me $355 dollars for a stove that is (told to me by the repairmen) about $2000.00 to replace new.     My last call for a service technician was very upsetting. My stove had broken and Choice Warranty had no technicians that were available to come to my home to fix it. I was told I could call any contractor and obtain a quote. When the contractor came and provided the quote, Choice didn't want to cover the repairs. I had to argue with several customer service reps and managers to receive the minimum so I can buy a new stove. I was always told if the item couldn't be repaired they would replace the stove. I was not provided the full amount of a stove but only the cost of the repair. I plan to find another warranty company soon. Choice also doesn't have anyone to fix my appliance to date.

    Our main drain in our basement backed up on Thursday. We called CHW and they sent us one of their fabulous automated calls about who to contact to set up a time. We called. No answer. Called 3 more times in 4 hours. No return calls. Called Choice back, got another contractor automated called to us. Called, left message, guy finally returns out call on Friday afternoon. Says he "MAY" be able to come out on Saturday, that he would call us. We finally got in touch with him on Saturday afternoon. He tells us that he didn't want to drive "all the way out" to our house on a weekend and that he wouldn't be able to come out until TUESDAY. Putting this into perspective, I have two boys and a husband living here. I have fecal matter floating on my basement floor and we are driving to McDonald's to use the restroom with gas at $3.25 a gallon. They keep shoving this "reimbursement" thing down my throat and that's not what I pay them for.

    I called on Saturday and was told that they would have someone call me from their Main Office -- but that's not open until Monday, so that serves no purpose and definitely isn't helping. They have no "after hours emergency" service AT ALL. And all their customer service after hours personnel is good for is if you have a claim that can wait 24 to 48 hours. Basically all their customer service did was try to placate me so that a "real" CSR could handle it. Ha! This place is a complete and utter joke and I will be leaving them as soon as I possibly can.

    We were looking at getting a policy and they were the latest email at my box and it seemed like it was okay that’s why we took out an insurance policy with them. The actual claims process is okay. Choice Home Warranty has 24-hour reporting. It’s usually more difficult to schedule a provider to actually come out and investigate in the claims process. I also wasn’t satisfied with the initial buy-out offer that they had on my appliance. They were unable to tell me what they based that number on. They did elevate their offer and told me it will take six weeks to receive a check. So overall experience is not positive, from the time it took to remediate the problem to the time involved to actually receive payment back on the item. If I knew that was what the solution was going to be, I would have probably just outright pushed the item instead of waiting for the couple of weeks it took to get the repair and back and forth done.

    Purchased a Choice Home Warranty 11 months ago and forgot that I had it. Last month when our 3 year old washing machine stopped working and my wife went crazy on me about getting it fixed, I decided to run up the street to a rental property we own that had an extra washing machine in the storage room. It was an old machine that back when we lived in that house our dryer died and we bought a combo washer dryer. Since that machine still worked I kept it and it's been sitting there for 5 years. I brought it over here and moved the broken machine 10 feet to the garage to haul it off.

    The day before I was going to haul it to the dump I got an email reminding me that I needed to renew my Choice Home Warranty. Light bulb goes off. Damn I don't need to throw this thing out. I'll just get it fixed so I filed a claim. I explained the whole deal in my claim. Got an email to call them right away and was informed that because I moved the washing machine it's no longer covered. I said "I'll put it back the day you send out a service technician" and they said “no, we now know you moved it and it's no longer covered.”

    So I assume if the old (that works fine) were to break down they would not come out to fix that one either now that I've been honest. It's not like I'm trying to defraud anyone here. I'm attempting to take advantage of a warranty I paid for. I never once in a year filed a claim and when you file a claim... DENIED. In closing my conversation I told the rep, "Thank you very little". I WOULD RECOMMEND BUYING THIS WARRANTY IF YOU ARE 100% SURE NOTHING WILL EVER BREAK, OTHERWISE RUN.

Choice sent out a repairman who looked over the microwave and said there was too much wrong to repair and that we would be getting a new one from Choice. After 2 days we called Choice and they said the claim had been denied because the problem had been caused by a power surge. There had been no power surge.     Last April Choice Warranty called me about purchasing a warranty for my home. Mind you I DID not call them. They called me. The man was very pleasant and explained to me what would be covered and what wouldn't. It sounded to me so I agree to purchase it. When I bought my house there was a warranty with it and I never renewed it. It was last April when I bought it from Choice Warranty. I even put extra coverage for roof leaks and my septic and an extra refrigerator. They explained to me I would not be covered for the first month which I understood.

    Here it is the end of October and I went to turn on my heat. It worked for 5 minutes and then shut off. I called them up and they had someone come the next day. The technician that came said that one of the coils in my system was cracked. They said that they were going to contact them and tell them I needed a new heating system. They had to send them pictures of the broken coil. I had to call them for an answer and they said that they were not covering it because a coil crack that big would have not just happen. So very nicely they are telling me I am a liar, that it was like that.

    My husband called them back and they told him the same thing. He told them that crack could have been there for years and the heat worked until the crack got too big and the system shut off. I don't recommend this company. They also wanted the model number but the repairman told them it was all faded and I told them how would I find that out if it is faded. They were saying that maybe there is a warranty for it or maybe they would pay for it to be repaired. I can not find the model number so I am up a creek. We don't have the money for a new unit and don't know why people would have a warranty if they are not going to repair it. Tell me what should I do?

    I had an AC repair that wasn't reimbursed that I believed to be clearly covered by my policy. Their personnel were rude and arrogant. After a long time CHW finally agreed to reimburse my repair cost. It appears they are making an effort to improve their service and public image. They did agree to reimburse my costs of that repair. Based on their efforts I would give them another chance as it's so rare that a company would attempt to correct grievances from past business dealings. The gentleman I spoke with was polite and understanding and said he would do his best to resolve my situation. He did exactly that. If they continue to operate like this they will be an outstanding company and one I wouldn't hesitate to deal with.

    I went with Choice Home Warranty since their price was better. Recently had a claim and it was fine dealing with their claims representatives. My claim was taken care of very promptly. They decided the repairs weren’t cost effective to try to do so they gave me what they considered the value of the appliance and I consider it a fair amount. It was everything I expected. The only thing I would consider anything about problem is that they’re a little slow in cutting the check. From my understanding, the check wasn’t sent out until this past Friday. (They may only do them on the end of the month, but to me I would appreciate it if it was a little quicker. But it’s not a big deal.) I was worried then I called and the girl said it was mailed on a certain date. So then I really got concerned because it had been two weeks since they mailed it. But then I contacted them and they said it was incorrect - it was approved on that date. So it was a pretty lengthy cycle between the time they said they were going to settle the claim and the time they actually did and then forwarded the check.

    We had been with American Home Shield for years and they just kept going up and up and up on their monthly fees. And then they went up to $75 co-pay for every time you call them. I was like, “That’s ridiculous.” So we switched to Choice Home Warranty. We’ve also recommended them to my neighbors and my son who’s with American Home Shield.

    The only problem I’ve had with them was when I submitted a claim when my dryer broke. They kept putting parts on it and then finally, they were like, “Well, we’re just not going to put any more money in it. We’ll just do a buyout.” And I said, “That’s fine.” So on September 24th, they called. They put in the thing because I had accepted their offer for $99.99. And I still haven’t got my check. I told them, “I’m having to rent a dryer, and that costs me $13 something a week.” I got 7 people in my house, so I can’t go without a dryer. When I paid a rental, it was almost 3 weeks before they decided what they were going to do. So now, here it is a month later… If you add that up, I could pay for a dryer. So I’m unhappy with Choice Home Warranty right now.

It stopped working and it was the blower motor. They will not fix it, had to pay the guy who came out and told me what was wrong and then he just left the blower motor on my family room floor and left. Had to get on these people to have him come back put it back in! Not quality people they are using. I had to actually talk with a supervisor to get this guy to come back and put the unit back in and I don’t know if he will do that right. Do not use these people. You will be sorry.... I was.

    I purchased a contract in September. I called on October 9, 2013 to request service on my icemaker and my roof. I was told at that time I did not have coverage for the icemaker. I asked if I could add it to the policy and I was told I could but it would not make a difference because they would not cover it now. I said okay but I still need to have the roof repaired. I did not hear from Choice in a couple days so I followed up. I was told then they were having problems finding someone to come and repair the roof. I said okay. I waited for over a week and call back and got the same response. On October 22, 2013, I spoke with Tom and asked to speak with the CEO of the company which is Victor Mandalawi. Tom told me he was not in and he would have Mr. Mandalawi give me a call. I did not hear from him within 24 hours so I call back on October 23, 2013 and Tom answered the phone again.

    I told Tom who I was and I spoke with him on the previous day and I had not heard from Mr. Mandalawi. Tom said, "He is in today but he is not in his office. I can see in his office and he is not there. I will give him the message again." I gave another 24 hours and did not hear from Mr. Mandalawi. I called back and asked for Victor. The person put me on hold for 18 mins. I called from the other phone in my home and I spoke with a Make and Doug. I was told again they were having problems getting someone to come and see about my roof. I asked for the company's license number so I could report it to the Federal Trade Commission and I was told by both people they did not know the license number.

    If anyone is considering a home warranty, I would seriously look at American Home Shield instead of Choice. When we were renting, American Home Shield was the warranty company who handled the home and the owner of the property did not have any problems with that company. I called myself trying to save money and get more with the roof policy and wished I spent the additional money with American Home Shield. I have looked at the BBB website since then and Choice Home Warranty Company has an F rating. I'm still waiting for them to send someone to look at my roof.

    The furnace quit working so I called Choice Home Warranty. A furnace repairman came that afternoon. Apparently, the blower motor seized up. While he was there, he found out, discovered that the heat exchanger has a crack in it. Choice Home Warranty sent me an email (instead of calling me) telling me to contact them immediately. They told me it was a pre-existing condition and they will not cover anything. It is an existing house not brand new. So I guess that covers their bases, everything is pre-existing. I did not know the heat exchanger had a crack in it and probably wouldn't know for a long time if the blower motor hadn't have seized up. What good is their warranty plan if they get out of everything so easily? The furnace man tried to talk to them about it and told me he would not be doing business any longer because this happens too often.

    We currently have Choice Home Warranties on two houses. Prior to Choice, we were with American Home Shield and there is no comparison to the service we receive from Choice. We live in a rural area and there are limited companies for home repair. Springfield, MO is over an hour away. We had two service companies that refused to deal with AHS due to poor payment and slow response time to the customer. It took usually 30 minutes or more to wait on the phone to report a problem.     They came out to service my freezer and the gentleman said the compressor was out. After all, it is 13 years old and they go out. I was told how lucky I was that it lasted this long. I asked how much for the repair and it was over $2000.00 because it's a Sub Zero. They denied the claim and said that we failed to clean it. Funny thing is my husband cleans it about every year. I demanded my money back and they refused. They are arrogant and if they won't do the work they just blow you off. I am looking into getting an attorney and putting together a class action lawsuit. They will not pay $2,500+ to repair it because they will lose money. They look for excuses to deny claims so they won't lose money. They are in business to take your money and hope you won't have expensive claims like mine. If you do, they will find a way to deny it.

    My dryer motor seized and I called Choice. The repairman came 3 hours late on a Friday at 7 pm. He stated the motor needed to be replaced and he would send in a report on Monday. On Monday, Choice called and stated they would not cover the repair because of a lack of ventilation in the laundry area. I have lived in the home for 14 years and gave away my last dryer after 11 years to get a more green unit. It worked perfectly. I have had the dryer line to the outside cleaned in the last year. They stated there was dog hair under the dryer. I am 74 and cannot lift the dryer to vacuum under it. They also came to repair my washer and also declined to cover that. I had them send a repairman to fix a loose toilet and after 3 weeks the toilet was loose again. When I called and said I was going to cancel my contract which I prepaid for 3 years, they offered me $250 towards a new dryer. I also had referred my sister and they had promised me a free service call which I never received. I spent 15 years with American Home Shield and never had any problems. Be wary.

    BEWARE! This company picks and chooses which parts of their contract (read: loopholes) to honor when dealing with a claim. I have a clothes washer that broke while my tenants were living in the home. Rather than letting me know, my tenants put a stackable machine in there, of which only the washer worked.... They left it in the garage when they moved out, and when I made the claim on my broken washing machine, Choice Home Warranty refused to pay for it to be fixed, because the stackable machine still worked. REALLY? I am supposed to have a stackable washer with non-working dryer, and my original working dryer sitting next to each other? The stackable is not even mine, but since it is in my house, "it has to be yours, 'chuckle'..."

    Not only did he question my integrity, Alex (claimed to be head manager and that nobody was above him - okay, I get it now... if your grammar is that poor and you are "running the show", it's no wonder your company sucks.) was rude and laughed at me on the phone when I told him that this was unethical, poor business practice, and stated, "Well, we have the right what to pick and choose to cover." When I explained how the contract clearly covered the repair, as delineated in section A of the contract, he showed me another part that negated the repair (because there was more than one, they pick and choose which to cover). I get it... take money from folks who trust you and use loopholes to deny claims. I wonder why you have so many poor reviews now. Well, no more Choice Home Warranty. I cancelled them immediately and will renew with a confirmed, well-researched and more reputable home warranty company. Good luck, folks, AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS CON!

Then it went out again and I called and they sent a yo-yo out that said the fan went out, the compressors burned, so he was going to send in a report that night because all that had to be new. Well, for 24 hours, he never sent in the report. So they reassigned it. That guy got out here. It was minor. He fixed it. It was done. So it was kind of bad but it ended good other than I still don’t have my reimbursement.

I thought it was going to be repairable but I come to find out it wasn’t, and I called. I gave it a day or two. I didn’t realize that they emailed me the next day.     I bought a home warranty with this company and ran into problems with them when I needed to use it. My pool filter sprang a leak and they denied the claim. They claim that the big apparatus sitting by my pool is not a filter. The manufacturer calls it a filter. Any person that I have ever spoken with in Arizona that has this big tank by their pool calls it a filter. Choice Home Warranty calls it a cartridge that holds a filter. I will be filing a complaint with the Arizona Dept of Insurance against them tomorrow. I am betting that each of the people on this board with a pool also call it a filter. If there was a minus on the stars for rating, I would give it to them but I resent having to give them one star.

    I called on my A/C on 10/4/13. The 2 service providers that Choice has weren't available to come out till 10/7 or 10/8. The service provider told me that Choice doesn't want to pay the contractors so I am not the priority customer. Customer service rep gave me authorization to call local HVAC company. I did have some come take a look. The unit was frozen because of low or no freon. The wall adapter was burnt. The tech removed the adapter because my house would have burnt down if we had to wait 3-4 days. Now Choice is refusing to refund $485.00. They are telling me they will refund $200.00 as good faith. I am telling everyone stay mile away from Choice Home. On 10/16/13, customer service rep (man) cursed me out, called me all kinds of names & hang up when I asked to speak with his manager.

    CHW sent someone to our house to repair our air conditioner and that person stole $200.00 from us and never fix our air conditioner. When I reported this to CHW, they said there was nothing they could do.

    When the contractor CHW sent came to our house to check the air conditioner, they said that the parts had not been cleaned so CHW said there was nothing they could do for us because of the air conditioner not being clean. I told them it had been clean because we had it clean the summer prior. They said there was nothing they could do. At that point I said there was no reason for us to continue to have a contract with them. The person they sent to us said that he could do the work that needed to be done for $200. He said he fix the air conditioner but it never worked. We called him and he said he would come back to our house and fix it but never did.

    I have had so many bad experiences and I have a 6 year contract so I am sort of stuck. It costs too much to get out of it. I have written these comments on surveys but no one has even acknowledged them.

    I called Choice to get a plumber because I could hear water running somewhere in the house and could not find the leak. The first person they sent out told me that he had to replace the master valve in the front yard before he would be able to find the leak. He told me it would cost $385.00 not covered by Choice. I told him I thought that was high and he told me he had children to feed and that was what he charged. I told him that I had just moved back from Bonham and had 3 leaks fixed for less than that and he told me that Bonham was a Podunk town and that I was in the city now.

    I called Choice and they did fire him and they sent someone else. These people thought it was in the laundry room and they cut a hole in my wall about a 12"x12" hole and said they would come back with a plastic insert to fill the hole. They told me the leak was in the foundation and I needed to hire a foundation leak detection company which of course Choice did not cover. I called one and they charged a little over $250.00 only to discover it was not a foundation leak!!!! It was in the wall in the pipes that lead out to the faucet. Choice would not cover it even though they say they will cover the house. Because of the pipe eventually connecting to the outside faucet they would not cover it!!! The company who cut the hole in the wall never returned and when I called Choice they said they could do nothing about it because this company no longer worked for Choice. That little experience costs me about $500.00!!!!!

    The latest was that my air-conditioner went out on a Saturday when it was about 100 degrees. I called and was given a name of a company. I called and left a message and they did not return my call until the following Tuesday. I called back to Choice to let them know that I needed someone immediately. I have dogs and cats and I was scheduled for surgery on Monday. They gave me another number and that person did call back but did not work on weekends. Choice told me to find someone on my own and they would reimburse me. I should have know that would NEVER happen. I had 4 estimates. 3 of them told me I needed the whole unit replaced at about $13,000. The other one fixed the air-conditioner for $624. It took me a couple of weeks to fill out the form because I had eye surgery and my eyeballs were swollen.

    On August 10, I filled out the form and attached the receipt. I never heard a word. After about a month I called Choice and they said someone should have called me. Of course, they didn't. They told me that they received the form but not the receipt. It was attached so I went back to the original email I sent and forwarded the SAME email to them. They sent an email to call them. They finally decided to pay about $289.00 of it!!! I was furious!!! I did exactly what they told me to do and I got really messed around!!!!! No excuse for running a business this way. I asked that a supervisor call me and I was told that no supervisor was there (this was on a Friday) but that they would call me back on Monday.

    NO ONE called and I finally called back over a week later since I once again heard from no one. I talked to a supervisor who did nothing to help me get the money owed to me. He said I would only be getting the $289.00. He offered to give me one free house call. That does not make up for the almost $400 more dollars they owe me. I have this insurance because I live on retirement but obviously this insurance was not the answer to help me. As of today, Oct. 15 I have received NOTHING!!! The supposed check should be here soon but a company should reimburse you when they say they will and I can't believe I have not even received the $289. It has been over 2 months since I sent the receipt and form in. What kind of customer service is this??? I hope that you will do something to help the customer service. Calls and filling out reviews have done nothing!!! Please help me.

    I put in a claim for air conditioner problems. First, I was told a tech would be in contact within a few hours. No one called. It was 110 degree, I am disabled and have another severely disabled person in the home. I called back, was told that no techs in my area. I asked to speak to supervisor, was told they would check into it. Finally someone called, stated it would be 3 more days until he could come out. Then another company called and he came that same day. Found out a part within a part was not working properly. Called Choice Home. Said it would have to go into review another 48 hours. Was informed that the part is not covered so they would not fix. Said it's unusual for this to go out and so they would not cover it. I called the manufacturer. They said it could happen. The compressor was 12 years old, but Choice says it does not matter the age of unit. Because it was going to cost more than their limit I would have to incur the difference.

    When review came back they stated will not fix at all. So after paying each month for service I was denied service. I still to this day have no air conditioner due to the cost of fixing on my own. On a fixed income. So I am not happy with this company and the way it was handled and some of the rude people I had to deal with.

    Last year, CHW helped a lot. I got my Garage Door Repaired, and My stove repaired when they had problems. This past year, when I have needed this service the most, twice I was denied due to exemptions that really are common and should be covered. Come to find out if I had stayed with AHS they would have been. My furnace went out with a bad bearing that should have been covered, but the tech said I had a bad heat exchanger, then exempted any repair, and this was not covered due to lack of maintenance, though I change filters monthly, and keep it clean, and I was checked a year prior during a repair AHS covered on the Air Conditioner.

    Once again I had a toilet get real slow and the flange broke. Last time I had this issue, AHS replaced the flange. CHW said they would not, and the toilet was slow due to "mineral buildup" I ended up buying and installing a new toilet on my own. I have been Dissatisfied, and their customer service reps seem to look for any way out of fixing things.
