    I contacted CHW because my dishwasher stopped working. Their repair man contacted me the next day and setup an appointment for 2 days later. He gave me a 2 hour window of 4-6. He called me at 3:30 and said he would there at 4:30 and that's exactly when he showed up. He was very professional, got my dishwasher working and gave me some performance tips.     I have two properties and both are under the auspices of CHW. Once the concern has been called in, a technician contacts you in a timely manner. The employees at CHW are pleasant and knowledgeable. When you are in crises mode, it is wonderful talking to someone who can answer all of your questions.     Call Home Choice warranty. I do have 3 yr plan. Water Heater was leaking. I was told water heater tank is not covered if it leaks. Are you freaking serious???? All water heaters leak eventually. That's why we have home warranty. Choice is TERRIBLE. DO NOT BUY THEIR HOME WARRANTY.

    There is nothing better than jumping into a refreshing fresh water pool on a hot Florida day that is until the pump no longer works. I placed a service request over the phone at 6 AM on a Sunday and was able to speak live with a service representative. Within hours, I received the name and number of the pool technician that I was to contact and schedule my service appointment. Their contractor called me back within minutes of leaving a message.     I have contracted with home warranty companies in the past, so I'm not new to this. 8 months ago I switched to Choice Home Warranty since they were less expensive for the annual contract and the per service call visit. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! They are horrible! I called in my ice maker last Feb or Mar. It still isn't fixed or replaced! They are offering a buy-out that is 1/4 of the replacement cost. They are reducing the offer price by the cost of the repairs they have made to the unit in their attempt to fix it. WHAT?! The first service tech reported to me that it needed to be replaced. Now, months later, I still don't have an ice maker. I asked to cancel my policy - which is three years paid in full, and they are reducing it by the cost of all repairs they have provided PLUS a $50 processing fee. WHAT?! They are in breach of contract. What a rip-off!

    I called in a request to have my dryer serviced as it stopped heating on Sunday, October 12th. I was assigned to HK Appliance and while I did call to request service, I didn't get to speak with someone until Monday. When I was contacted I was told I couldn't be seen until Tuesday, Oct 14th. I was given a 3-6pm window, so I left work to ensure I was home. Unfortunately the HK tech was running late and called me at 5:45pm to tell me he'd be at my house by 7pm.

    Once the technician arrived he was very polite and apologized for being late. He put shoe covers on his shoes to prevent my floor from getting dirty. He went right to work and within minutes determined that my heating element was the problem. Fortunately, he had another one in his car and my dryer was repaired in less than 20 minutes!     After my A/C and heating system stop blowing cool air, I called them. They sent me a technician that discovered I have a bad coil. The same day, I called again and they told me not to worry because the tech. sent a report that said my system was well maintain. The next day I call to find out when they will fix it and they told me my claim was denied because of rust. I told them the color of my coil is copper and where that rust came from? I request to speak with a manager. I was told none of them is available and someone will contact me in 24hrs. I'm still waiting for that call. They advertise nobody need to come to your home for inspection before they give a warranty, you are cover after a month from the date of the contract and much more lies to take your money. BUYERS BEWARE, they are the worst!

    My A/C system upstairs (I have two systems) was freezing up. I called Choice and they sent an A/C repairman who told me the system was leaking at the coil inside the plenum which he never even looked at. He told me he would have to contact Choice and see what they wanted to do. When they called me they told me that the system was too old and had been repaired before so they were denying my service request. I called a neighborhood A/C guy and he came out and charged the system and told me the system was fine and I should get a few more years out of it. I called choice and cancelled them.

    Choice Home warranty is the worst warranty co. I have ever dealt with. They refuse to fix my air conditioner because a small amount of rust was found on it. That is BS. What doesn't have rust on it in TX. I will be canceling and hopefully the 10 other people I know will cancel also.

    I filed a claim for my microwave that was not heating properly. Once I filed the claim I was contacted by CHW with an immediate electronic response and then shortly afterwards I was contacted by a repair service. The repair person came out, took the model number and the serial number and looked at the microwave and we were billed the co-payment. Shortly there after I was contacted by CHW and they informed me that the unit was not worth repairing and they told me that we would receive a check towards replacement. I feel the value was a little low since there is no way to replace the microwave for the amount they gave me. They also told me that they pay the "national average" for the cost of the microwave and they do not take into account the make or model of the microwave oven.

    On the whole I am happy with the service and I am happy I have the coverage since we got something and something is better than nothing. I am a little disappointed though. I believe I read that CHW would replace the unit if it could not be fixed and this in no way replaces the broken unit. I will have to go back and re-read the policy to get verification. I am also disappointed it will take 30 days for them to process the check and then they will send it out to me. I probably will not get the check until at least 45 days. The turn around on this should be a lot quicker. I know that if this was a $3000 water heater and air conditioner unit, having to layout this money in advance would be difficult.

    I was with 1st american, and after reading the reviews on this company, I decided to cancel and buy with this great company based on the reviews. When I first purchased it, they claimed that because I had coverage with another warranty, they would go into effect 15 days from purchased. I never got a copy of the home warranty policy, I had to call to get it and 18 days had passed, since I paid it, the policy said that my coverage was to be in effect in almost 30 days more, so now over 45 days from payment.

    I asked to speak to the manager, and he was RUDE, he was in the defensive mode, and said "oh, no problem, we will cancel right now and give you back your money." As a great company, he should have made the policy effective right away, but NO he washed his hands by cancelling and NOW I have to wait 7 days to get my money back, if they even do that, since this company DOES NOT do what they claim they will do. Maybe after you have coverage, they are a good company, but the starting is what is very rocky. I had high hopes for it, but they are nothing but storytellers!

I called Choice and reported it and within a few minutes had a call from Bennett and Sons from Apopka, who scheduled a call the next morning, a Saturday. They sent the owner out who found a freon leak. He was unable to get an authorization for the replacement freon but I had him do it anyway because we were leaving on vacation later that very day.     My Microwave failed, one of the internal parts failed and went to ground. I filed a claim with Choice Home Warranty and they sent a repair person out who described the problem to me and said it would cost as much to replace the part as it will to replace the microwave, so he reported the microwave as irreparable. I received an email from Choice Home Warranty the following Monday asking me to contact them.

    When I called I was told that the claim was denied because the repairman stated that the part had failed and the unit was "arching". I told the claim person that it was arching because the part had failed and was going to ground, which will cause the arching, that is what the repairman told me. He said it did not matter, if it is arching it is not covered. I called the repairman to confirm that the part failure was what was causing the arching then called back and asked to speak with a manager.

    I was directed to the manager who listened to my explanation but he said that it is still denied, so I asked that he have them come out and replace the part. He put me on hold so he could call the repairman. When he came back he said that he spoke to the repairman and was told by him that the arching had done additional damage to the microwave so they will not cover the repair or replacement of the unit.

    I called the repairman back and asked him if he said there was more damage to the unit and he told me that he explained to the manager at CHW that if I continued to use the unit it will cause more damage, not that there was already more damage. So the CHW manager lied to me. I have had Choice Home Warranty for almost 2 years now and this is the third time I have filed a claim. They covered one claim for about $70, the other 2 they have denied. Do not buy CHW service. They will rip you off if the claim is over $200.

    Our air conditioner broke down. Choice Warranty found every possible way not to either fix the air conditioner or pay towards another. We had someone out here to look at the unit and couldn't find anything wrong with it. Said it was low on Freon so they put in a couple of pounds. Had air for a day then no air. Called them back out here and it had blown a hole and leaked out all the Freon. Called Choice and it was war from that point. They were rude to the company that was out here and the supervisor ** has the worst manners and is very rude. She will talk over you and I got nowhere. They would put their spin on everything.     Not sure why consumer reports crosses out the bad reviews about this company. I work for a real estate agent whose buyer wanted to use this company for their home warranty. This is something the seller is paying for out of closing and is a standard real estate practice. Even though the warranty sales rep was told this, they convinced the buyer to pay for the policy. In my many calls to them to get this corrected, twice they have said they cancelled and credited the buyer and created a new policy that could be paid at closing. TWICE. When I called to add an additional coverage I was told the policy was never set up from my first call so they supposedly set it up during this conversation. When the title company called to verify the price, they were told that there is no policy in place and the original one cancelled.

    So on 9/10 again, I called. And AGAIN I'm told no warranty was set up after the original one cancelled and credited to buyer. So now after hours on the phone trying to get this done and straightened out, they still can't get one done for this client and there is still no active warranty in their records. Now I'm waiting on a call back from the company. I have talked to service, sales and managers and yet according to TJ they have no record of my calls.

    I took home owners policy with Choice Home warranty, paid full. After two months I called in for AC service as my home AC downstairs was not working. The Choice Home warranty provided me with an AC guy contact information (ALL In ONE) in Dutchess County. He refused to do the service by saying that Choice Home Warranty owes him money. I suspected something is not right at the same time. I called back the company. They mentioned to take service from any local AC technician. I called in one AC technician from the area and he submitted the quote with details that the compressor of the unit needs to be replaced. I called in several times to Choice Home Warranty (for 2 weeks). Finally I had to conference in the company and the technician. After speaking with the technician I called back to see the next steps. The Choice Home Warranty refused to provide any service and declined coverage. And when I asked them cancel they charged me for two months and also charged me the cancellation fee of 50 dollars. They are totally a cheat company and made a decision without getting into the details. A professional company will never do that. People should be aware of a company like this.

    This was my first service call to Choice Home Warranty. Noticed my refrigerator was not cooling properly and called for help on a Sunday over Labor Day weekend. Called the toll free number and was pleasantly surprised to get a live person on the phone that was very courteous and polite and took all of my information and gave me a claim number. She advised me I would be receiving an email or phone call with the number for a technician that would help with my claim. Within a few hours I had an email with the information and a technician called to ask about the problem. I spoke to Robert from SunLine Repairs on Monday and he actually asked me a few questions about my refrigerator and was able to diagnose the problem over the phone. He came to my house Tuesday and ordered the part needed to repair the refrigerator and as soon as he got the part he came back and installed it.

    It took a few days for the part to come in but Robert was extremely professional and very courteous and kept me informed of the progress of the part. When he came back to install the part he was at my home at the time he had said and worked as fast as he could so I could leave for work. Freezer was somewhat frozen and he thawed it out in order to replace the part. After replacing the part he put everything back like it was and made sure all was working well before he left. I was very happy with the work. I would recommend Choice Warranty.

    My A/C unit stopped working due to a bad compressor. Technician that came out warned me that Choice would deny the claim, that using "pre-existing condition" was the most common reason for denial of claim. The Technician put his phone on speaker so that I could hear the runaround and so I wouldn't blame him. Called numerous times, with the exception of one person I got his name and extension. No matter he never returned calls. In fact, anyone I spoke to never returned calls. When I asked to speak with a Supervisor, each person I spoke to claimed he was a supervisor and no one was above him.

    Upon speaking with the BBB, I found that Choice has an "F" rating, and my experience is typical. Issue the contract, collect the monthly fee and refuse warranty repairs. Upon complaint they will offer to cancel the contract and refund your payments to trick you into breaking the contract and this releasing them from their obligation. The "positive reviews" you see are placed by employees of Choice Warranty to hide the true negative complaints. Your best chance of a resolution is to contact the Attorney General of your state Consumer Affairs division. This company is set up to rip you off and make it impossible to talk to an employee to resolve the issue.

    The air conditioner went out at 9pm on a holiday weekend. The people at Choice were really friendly and helpful. They referred me to Empire Mechanical. Once Empire arrived, they dove right in. Bearings were shot on the outside motor, wires were fried and a wiring block was fried. They let me know that since it was a following a holiday weekend, it might take a little while to get the approval. In the meantime, they were able to get the air running for a couple of hours before it tanked again. Once the approval came through and they had all the parts they needed, they came back and fixed everything right up. Empire made sure I saw the old parts and told me what was going on with everything and every step. I didn't ask to see all the parts, but it was nice they showed me what they were doing. I am very happy with Empire and Choice Home Warranty. All it cost was the service fee. I would totally recommend.

    After calling choice Home warranty and submitting our claim, It took two days to get a technician out to look at our sink that we called in clogged. At the day and 1/2 I called choice home warranty and reported that I still had no contact from the plumber they assigned to me. They said they would check with them and said they had the same problem of not being able to reach the plumber. After 1 and 2/3 days I called choice again because I still had no contact from plumber. (Remember they are 24/7 guarantee). They tell me the technician called in and said it was clogged and were asking for approval to continue. I asked them how that could be since I hadn't even heard from the plumber yet. They had the nerve to tell me that he was there and saw a problem. I had to get angry and tell them repeatedly that I was at my home and the plumber had not even contacted me nor has he been at my residence.

    After arguing with them they said the manager said she would reassign me since it was taking so long. Then an assistant manager called me back and said he had the same plumber that called in the false report was on their way. I told them I didn't want that dishonest plumber in my home. He said that is who who he was sending and he was not going to reassign me. I was so mad I let my son talk to him. My son agreed to let the plumber in our home. He ran a snake which was not even long enough to go our whole line and said he couldn't fix it. He takes my $45 fee before he will even do that. Then takes one of bath towels to clean his snake and leaves with it. So I am out a bath towel and $45. And my sinks are still clogged and Choice Home Warranty wouldn't do a thing.

    AC went out. The first 3 repair companies given by Choice all said the same thing--we don't work for them anymore because they won't pay us. Each time they assigned a repair company it took an entire day so we were without AC for 3 days before they could find someone to work for them. Then it was another 2 days to fix it.

    Washing machine is 18 months old and the drum bearing needs to be replaced. The part is available through Whirlpool. After 4 weeks of no contact from the repair company or Choice, I called Choice. They offered $200 to purchase a new washing machine. This is a front loading, top of the line machine which sold for $1,400 a year and a half ago. I said no. After repeated calls, they are offering $535 but will not give me any details as to how they arrived at that figure.

    On another repair, I just paid for it and tried to get reimbursed. They never paid me for the covered repair. Don't buy a Choice Home Warranty. It won't do any good. Go with American Home Shield. They are better at everything especially customer service.
