Temperature Design Heating and Air was assigned to my service request to fix my air conditioner. They came out on time, were very professional, showed me exactly what the problem was, and repaired it effectively. My experience with CHW and this service company have been very satisfactory.

All I can do is laugh, only because I should have read all of these reviews before choosing Choice Home Warranty. I have now done plenty of research and have seen pending government action on them in New Jersey through the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs and a NBC news story in Chicago highlighting very disturbing and consistently bad service and business practices provided by Choice Home Warranty.
My wife and I are one month into our first house together and Choice Home Warranty was our first home warranty company. The compressor in AC unit has stopped working due to wiring issues. I believe they were melted at the connecting point. So we call to make the claim and CHW sends a company out that does a great job and fixes the issue with no problems. All it took was a new replacing that set of wires with a new set apparently. A $75 claim after the $60 service call we have with our "premium plan". I get a call from our service company saying the CHW has denied our $75 claim on the basis that it was a "pre-existing issue".
I'm confused, how the hell do you know this is a pre-existing issue if no one has ever serviced this unit before and by that logic you could possibly say that any issue we have moving forward was a "pre-existing issue"? After reading all of these poor reviews and stories, it seems that Choice Home Warranty makes a habit of using this "pre-existing" claim consistently to get out of covering services that are the WHOLE POINT OF HAVING HOME WARRANTY!
I laughed again at this though because I figured that they would at least buy us a cheap drink before they tried to screw us! This was our first claim with them and it was for $75! If you're not going to cover a simple $75 claim, what on earth would give us ANY confidence going forward for you to cover ANYTHING ELSE down the road which basically makes you WORTHLESS!
I called this morning to cancel our contract with Choice Home Warranty with every intent to let them know how disappointed we were with their decision to decline our first claim and try to get a better understanding of their reasoning. I get transferred to the cancellation team, which is usually the team at most REPUTABLE companies that want to know why you are canceling and will want to figure out if there is a way to not lose you as a consumer. This is the moment that all consumers use to air their grievances and give feedback on why we no longer want to use your services in hopes that the company will fix the issue, maybe make a note of the issue, or at the VERY LEAST listen to the issue.
NOT WITH CHOICE HOME WARRANTY, they stayed consistent with every other bad business decision and proceeded to cancel my policy with not one question being asked about why I was canceling our policy FOUR days into it becoming active and told me I'd be charged a prorated fee of $33 for the month (which seemed high for four days of coverage) and an administrative fee of $50. It's sad to say but after he told me that I actually felt I was getting the better end of the deal only having to pay $83 to never have to deal with them again! Haha. They also said I would be getting $321 credited back to my account for our deposit. I fully expect for them to stay consistent with their business practices, which means I will most likely have to call them a couple more times to receive my money back. Hopefully they prove me wrong.
We are very fortunate and lucky that our first problem at our house was a very small and inexpensive one. I really feel bad for all of the other people on here and off that have had to go through this experience with much more expensive repairs. It's not right and can really change a family’s fortunes for the worse, which is the exact opposite of what a home warranty is supposed to do.

My hot water heater went out and they sent a tech out come to find out my tank was not covered. Needless to say I was very upset my $45 fee turned into $754. I will never recommend Choice to anyone. Their salesmen are liars and they cover nothing important.

I have had home warranties before and have had very good experiences, but with this company I am very disappointed. I have 2 warranties with this company (2 houses). We had our AC serviced and were told of a possible issue, called and reported this issue to CHW and they sent someone out to review it. This company agreed that the coil had gone bad and the AC unit needed to be replaced and filed the claim with CHW. CHW then called my husband to say they are denying to cover it because and I quote "the part should have last longer and because it quit working prematurely they will not cover it". I'm sorry but the unplanned issue of something breaking or no longer functioning is the whole reason you get a Home warranty. My husband was transferred 3 or 4 times and no one seemed to care and they were not willing to do anything.
So not only am I out the money, I will be paying out of pocket for a new unit ($2,500) but I am also out the money I paid for 2 full home warranties. I feel as though we paid for a service, that by the way we asked many questions on the front end about what they covered, and they were not honest about their business. I would highly recommend not wasting your money with the company as they do not offer what they claim to, and are not concerned with what that means to their customers. Very upset with the company, their lack of service, and lack of concern.

My AC unit went out... it's the air compressor and AC. Technician said it was normal wear and tear!!! Your quote "A home warranty can be very beneficial and save you money when it is understood and used for its intended purpose, which is to cover systems and appliances for normal wear and tear, that were in working condition before the contract took effect. Become inoperative due to normal wear and tear". This is regarding my A/C unit. "All components and parts, for units below 13 SEER and when We are unable to facilitate repair/replacement of failed covered equipment at the current SEER rating, repair/replacement will be performed with 13 SEER equipment and/or 7.7 HSPF or higher compliant." Please let me say though the technician was GREAT from M&M Services. So please tell me why my warranty doesn't cover???

The service was prompt and reliable. The repair gentleman came out the very next morning to repair the disposal. He was prompt, courteous and even put paper boots on his shoes to insure he didn't track up my home. CHS called the order in immediately.

Unwilling to get customers help in a timely manner, They don't care if seniors have air conditioning in the Nevada desert. They hire subcontractors who you can't reach and tell customer one thing and something else to their bosses. I was told there were fried wires in the compressor, only slightly low on freon. But after I had to keep calling the comp. they said they would only add freon per their boss. When I called Choice they said they would call me NEXT WEEK after they review the claim again! This is the second time I have ever used my Choice Policy and the SECOND time I have had nothing but trouble! VERY VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS COMPANY.

I was travelling while my wife had to use your services for a built in microwave that was not working. Choice was prompt to send someone within 24 hours. The Choice representative was in touch throughout the process and can't thank Choice for helping my family while I was out.

I called in on April 3, 2015 to file a claim because the refrigerator was freezing everything inside. Because of a holiday, Easter, I could not get anyone to come out until Tuesday, April 7. Then on Wednesday, I called back to tell them the freezer was not working, either. THANK GOODNESS WE HAD A SECOND REFRIGERATOR DOWNSTAIRS, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS DIFFICULT TO KEEP GOING UP AND DOWN EVERY TIME WE NEEDED SOMETHING!!! Parts were ordered but did not come in until Thursday night, April 16, 2015. When the serviceman came out at 9:00 pm, he found the compressor board was gone and advised us that since the refrigerator was over 15 years old, it was impractical to repair it and would call Choice Warranty on Friday morning.
I called Choice Warranty early Friday morning and was first advised they could only give me $390 towards a new refrigerator. At first, I was extremely upset because it was my understanding, if an appliance went out, they would replace it. THAT IS NOT THE CASE!!! The company called the serviceman and he said the repairs would be $480, so they will send a check within 30 days for $480. We have only been with Choice Warranty for 3 months and this could be another reason we were not given more. It is called a BUY-OUT. I had no idea the refrigerator was 15 years old, so I guess getting $480 for something that old that won't work is better than nothing. Really it was $435 because I had to pay the $45 service call. I am happy we got something to put down on a new refrigerator.

I had a plumbing issue. I contacted Choice. They dispatched Johnson's Plumbing, they came out, assessed the issue. Returned the next day and Johnson's Plumbing went above and beyond of their service. I'm really pleased with Choice Home Warranty and their vendor Johnson's Plumbing.

Garage door would not stay closed but would go down and hit the floor and go back up again. I called and was given a vendor to call. He gave me the run around and after two days I called CHW again and was given another vendor which responded right away. That afternoon my garage door was repaired, and is still working properly.

I called the number of the person assigned to my repair. I immediately could tell that this person had done this before. He was very polite, professional and had no problem answering my questions. The work was done the next day. My tenant was very pleased. She told me all about the work done and that there was absolutely nothing left to be cleaned up. She was happy. I will ask for this company again, if possible.

My microwave needed service as it was turning on when opened and not working correctly. Choice was able to answer my claim within 24 hours and a technician was send out within 2 days. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable and let me know what would happen with the claim. On Saturday my oven would not get hot. I called Choice to request service. I promptly received information to contact Icon Mechanical LLC. It was Saturday so I was not expecting to get any repair work done, but I left them a message. I received a call from Icon first thing Monday morning and was cooking again by 2 pm. I've told family and friends about Choice and will continue to sing their praises. Excellent service.

I contacted choice after having paid for 1 year and currently in my second year as a customer. My fridge went dead sometime during the morning hours yesterday.Their tech couldn't get here for 2 days and so they told me I could have someone else come and if the repairs were covered they'd pay. Not true. My issues are:
2. Why would you tell someone you'd pay for repairs if you know you only pay flat rates of $160.
I've already missed a 1/2 days work trying to get the fridge started but had to pay $49 to another company to do it. It was their suggestion! I called to find out about reimbursement and they initially told me NO. After I brought it to the attention to the young lady I was speaking to it was their people who couldn't get to my fridge in time, they told me I can call someone else and if choice covers the repairs they'll pay which they knew they wouldn't. Now I have to eat a $49 charge from the company that could come out? She came back with a no service call fee. But it doesn't save them. As soon as they come and repair one part of the fridge I'll be cancelling.
So, Choice is not for me and should not be for anyone. I've already found another company that doesn't force you to use only their people ONLY and lead you to believe they will do something that they won't. The other tech that came told me what would happen before I even called them and he was dead on!

Easy to report problem. Received a call to schedule soon after reporting problem with garbage disposal leaking out from side. Scheduled an appointment with assigned contractor convenient for us to be home. Contractor arrived at appropriate time, made the repairs, and the disposal was working a short time after his arrival. When I first purchased warranty, salesman stated what great coverage. I have had two claims in which both were denied. They did pay 300.00 against a 1200.00 bill for ac repairs. Stated they valued me as a customer. Second claim, associate just stated no coverage. Not sure if warranty was worth the cost. Will consider cancelling the policy if I have nothing but issues with Choice Home.

I requested service on my dryer. The agent was very courteous and immediately assigned and gave me a contact's name and phone number. The contact called within an hour and came out that afternoon. The workmanship was immaculate. Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised when the Choice agent reminded me of my covered items, and asked if I needed assistance with anything else. The young man they sent was very confident and started his troubleshooting the problem. After assessing the problem he called the office and went and got the parts. He put the part in and cleaned up the area. I asked him to put in an exhaust fan and the costs. After agreeing to the price he did the job and cleaned up. I will recommend this company.

We had an a/c problem at a vacation rental property and needed service asap. We had a local a/c guy who could accommodate us that day. We got approval from Choice to use our own contractor. The repair got done and Choice is reimbursing us for our expenses, less what is not covered by our policy, which we understand. This was the first claim we have ever done with them, they are awesome.

I had the main sewer drain back up, and backed up some BAD things into my home. I filed a claim online, and a plumber was assigned in minutes. The plumber came out just a few hours later at 8pm on a Sunday night. He fixed the issue, and his only charge was the service call fee! I've used CHW for years, and will continue to do so for my peace of mind and situations like these.

Had an issue with loss of power to the kitchen and submitted a claim and had a technician there that afternoon. He located the bad breaker, replaced it and everything was back to normal. Super quick response time, professional and knowledgeable technician who resolved the issue almost instantly. 2nd I've used my warranty with great success and no hassle.

I called Choice Home Warranty, when my thermostat would not turn on. Within 24 hours, a service technician was sent to my home. Turned out it was a faulty thermostat. A new programmable thermostat was installed immediately, and all is well. Thank you CHW!

Please do not be deceived by all these fake 5 star reviews! Stay far AWAY from Choice Home Warranty. They have found loopholes to getting out of doing what's right to honest, loyal, paying customers. They gave me some 4 ways crap excuse as to why they won't replace my old broken a.c. unit. The one that they chose for me is "premature failure." Stated that the compressor is 7 years old and is supposed to work for 18 years. So now we have to spend thousands of $ on a new ac unit b/c something man-made didn't live up to its life expectancy! These people disgust me and I will stop doing business with them ASAP!

I called today to get some information about starting a plan with them. The guy was very pushy about me signing up with them right away. I told him that I wanted to do some research but would call him back. After reading reviews, I called the company to ask if they covered something with rust and corrosion and he said no. I own a house that is 10 years old and will eventually have some rust and corrosion, so I wanted to find someone who would cover that and he told me good luck and hung up on me. I am so glad I read reviews and questioned them. I decided to go with Home Shield who is a tad bit more but will cover it all no matter what.

CHW staff were friendly, professional and persistent in arranging plumbing service over a holiday week. They worked with multiple providers to resolve a multifaceted issue at our 2nd home with visiting relatives in residence and a complicated schedule. Stoppage in toilet. A&R complete service had to come out twice to complete the job. **, technician (very nice). I would recommend them. 4/3 and 4/6. Month before had trouble with heater. Empire Mechanical did a fine job. I like the prompt respond from Choice. Plus a lady called from Choice to see if everything was OK. Keep up the good work and especially the communication. Last warranty company was awful.

Our a/c went out. Had just turned it on for the first time this season & there was no power. It kept blowing the breaker. We called our serviceman because we forgot about taking the Choice Home policy only 2 months before. They said they would call him for a diagnosis. We had to call Choice back because they had not called. This representative said he was supposed to call them. That was my first clue they were not responsible. They finally contacted him & said they would call him back. Two more days go by to find out they did not call him. I called Choice to find out they would not pay to fix my unit. There was 4 "excuses" why but none should apply to why mine went out. I hope to get a full refund on my payments. I rate all thing below with -1.

My first call to CHW was dispatched to a company that couldn't make it out until the next day... That was unacceptable since it would leave my garage door open all night. I called back and the representative was concerned enough to find a vendor that would come out the same day and set the appointment for me. The company called and confirmed and kept me informed throughout the afternoon assuring me they would be out that day. They arrived and within a short time my issue was repaired.

If you’re shopping for a full coverage warranty program, it's not Choice Home Warranty! They specifically point out in their Limitations of Liability that malfunction or improper operation due to "RUST or CORROSION" of all systems and appliances are not covered under their program. What do you think is the major contributor to any systems malfunction...RUST and CORROSION!! I found this out the hard as my coil in the AC unit went out. This is the unit in the attic, not outside. So here is a system that is constantly working with cooling and condensation and they won't cover the coils because of CORROSION as copper cannot RUST. The coil cost is $2,700.
So do your home work and check out American Home Shield, in their sample contract, which you can read online, they specifically state they will cover RUST and CORROSION. American Home Shield costs a little more, but they are the better provider as they cover the needs of your systems and appliances. As the saying goes, "you always get what you pay for".

TL; DR (short version but read if you have time). Company uses clauses to not cover items from normal wear and tear due to rust or corrosion on things that get wet during normal use. $420 fee for $1500 max coverage. Refund policy is misleading. Policy as a whole is a bad one. First off, I’ll take some responsibility on this. I read their coverage but didn't catch or even think to worry about some very strict limitations.
My Story, I purchased a policy after my warranty on air conditioner went out. When we purchased our home the air conditioning unit went out in the first month of the first summer and we had to put a new system in. We had a different home warranty that came with the purchase of the house and they paid nothing. Anyway, I wanted coverage on the appliances in the home and the air conditioner/heater since we had been in the home 7 years now and the appliances were aging. We did a lot of research and picked Choice Home Warranty.
The first year we noticed the air conditioner slowly started not working very well, but hey we were smart and bought protection. A technician comes out and replaces some Freon, no big deal. No other claims the whole year and we pay for another year. The service had been ok with that one claim. It took about a week for the whole thing but not bad.
So this year summer comes, well not really summer but I live in Texas so it got warm. The air wasn't cooling at all. I call them. They send out a technician, the same one from before. He says “the Freon has leaked out again”. He replaces it and I pay the fee of $45. He tells me he will get back to me. CHW sends out a new technician a week later due to "non communication" by the other technician. However, I have the technician’s cell phone and he told me he had followed up and provided everything to them. CHW sends a technician from a company that had just started working with them. This guy tells me something totally different from the other one and says that the "condenser" was leaking and rusted. Well it turned out he was actually talking about the "evaporator coil" either we got on different pages while talking or I just misunderstood him but the CHW people said “it was the evaporator coil and not the condenser”.
Anyway, the evaporator coil is a piece of metal inside your home that is cooled, it pulls in hot air and makes the air cold. At least that is what a google search told me. Guess what happens when you put hot and cold air together??? Moisture! Guess what moisture does to metal.... It rusts things! Guess what isn’t ever covered in any situation under their policies, rust or corrosion. So I ask where they are finding this as I read the covered items and nowhere in the air conditioning section is this mentioned. Well you go to subsection F to find this information on ** .
So, I speak to 3 different people about this as I can’t believe they actually have a way of not paying for something that failed due to use. As the technician they sent told me it was common and that it should be a simple replacement as there was nothing I could do to prevent it and he didn't see why they wouldn't replace it. Of course they tell me they can't speak for what the technician said but that they don't cover things due to rust. I speak to a manager who tells me “the rust is quite bad”, not that I have seen it as the technician didn't show me, but I tell him “well I did have a technician come out last year as well so most likely it was rusted then too”.
Finally, I realize how screwed I am with this company. I have gotten rather rude with them at this point as no one tells me anything other than “it’s not covered due to rust”. I ask to CANCEL! The manager didn't even hesitate. He immediately transferred me. I speak to ** and tell him “I want to cancel”, he says I will get back $158. I paid them $375 for my renewal period just about 45 days prior. I freak out at this point and ask about always being able to cancel and how did I lose over $200 in a short period of time. He says “the cancellation works like this”.
$41 a month is what they take from your total even though I only paid $375 and there is a $50 cancellation fee. Now, when you speak to them and you are signing up this BS doesn't come up anywhere. Essentially they have made it to where about halfway through your policy you no longer are entitled to a refund. They give you 2 months free so it’s a 14 month contract for $375. Since there is a $50 fee and they take $41 a month by 8 months in you are not entitled to any money back. When I asked how he got to $158 he called it an error...
I then ramble on about the whole thing being a sham, he asks if he can try to help me with the claim as I am not a new customer. I have been with them for 15 months and paid over $750 to them. I calm down a little and said “yes, if you could work something out I would appreciate it”. Anyway, I sincerely doubt he will fix anything for me. I am sure it’s a delay tactic to get me to hopefully forget about cancelling. They hope by delaying me and feeling that maybe I will calm down about it that I won’t cancel. Also once I found this out I read the terms clearer, here are some limitations found in their contract that are good to know.
They will only ever pay $1500 on any claim total. That includes anything they may pay for a technician and their services. So essentially you are paying $375, plus a fee of at least $45 for the first time someone comes out so $420 for a total liability on their part of $1500. This policy just isn't good. It’s too high for what they offer. Below is the exact wording.
"You agree that, in no event, will our liability exceed $1500 per contract item for access, diagnosis and repair or replacement."

I called. I was having plumbing issues. Toilet would not flush. I called Choice Home Warranty. They gathered my information and within 24 hours I had a tech contacting me back. My appointment was scheduled for the same day. They moved pretty quickly!!!

I have had three experiences with Choice Home Warranty in the past couple of months. All three calls were to top notch caring and friendly customer service reps. All three repairs were called on a Friday and the work was actually repaired the following day on Saturday. Same company sent out - Harley Plumbing - top notch...couldn't be happier. Broken Water Heater - As soon as I file my claim they got me in touch with a company. They came out that same day. The part needed has to be ordered so it will be a couple of days, but this is not anyone's fault. When I had to call the people I spoke with were all very professional.

The fan on my HVAC unit wasn't working. The a/c working ok throughout the house. I just happened to be outside noticing the unit humming the fan not spinning. I called Choice Home Warranty. I had a call from the Heat and Air rep the next day and my issue was resolved within 36 hours. I told Choice not hurry since hot weather isn't an issue right now. The job was completed within two 1/2 hours. The rep had to call for a motor, pick it up, return to my house then install. I'm very pleased with the friendliness, professionalism and promptness. I'm so happy that I changed from a competitor company. I save monthly dues and co-pay!! Kudo's Choice Warranty!

I have to say that Choice made my claim very easy. They sent the information so I could call the repairman direct for an appointment. My refrigerator/freezer was unrepairable and I was told they would be sending a check out. My Spa is like a part of my life! I use it at LEAST Five days per week. When I noticed the jets were not as strong as usual, I called CHOICE for assistance. The technician that first arrived seemed to think the pump was not working, but wanted his partner who is more electrically inclined to check it out. The very next day, the next tech arrived, and quickly discovered that the pump was fine, but the Blower was dying. He also agreed with the first tech, that my Pool filter Flush valve was broken. He called in to Choice Warranty, and within the next 90 minutes, I had a new air Blower installed, along with a new Backflush valve! I was back in my Jacuzzi as soon as the water heated up!! The garage door opener was not functioning as expected. We tried the code, adjusting the chain to no avail. We ended up unhooking the lock for the opener and closing it that way and at the same time leaving the car on the driveway. We called Choice and to our surprise you responded soon and were able to resolve the matter. Replaced the chain drive. Thank you.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Homeowners for 16 years and have done Maintenance to our property. Not one time have I ever had to do what I did this morning. Have a flat out rejection by a warranty company who supposed to protect your property, not find reasons not to cover things. This is the worst absolute worst warranty company we have EVER used!

I had a water leak from the ceiling and the plumber came out and tighten the valve. I am not sure if that's the issue but I would have to see if it is still leaking. Otherwise the job was done right and quick.

Peace to my compliment: Choice Home Warranty is the best of the best to insure your household appliance, hot water heaters, furnaces, A/C units and more. In 2013 my A/C went out and a repair tech came to service it. I told the A/C repair tech that I believe it is leaking. I also told the Choice Home phone rep that I believed it was leaking. The A/C repair tech felt at that time that the possible leak wasn't bad; so he just recharged the A/C and it blew cool air as always. But now the unit is not cooling at all and it is because of the leak from 2013. I am not worried about the A/C unit repairs because Choice Home Warranty kept the record of my stating that the A/C was leaking in 2013 when the A/C repair tech felt as if it was nothing major at that time. Lord God, guide this testimony of truth to the right heart. Peace and Amen.

My garage door opener went out all of a sudden. Choice Warranty covered the motor and labor, and was quick, simple, and decisive with their coverage. I got it fixed with a local repair service the same day!!! Contractor cost was $250. My final actual cost was $45. Excellent service and coverage!!!

Choice has been a lifesaver for me this past year. If I didn't have them as a safety net for the problems I've had this year with my house, I would be in serious trouble. We came home Friday night to discover our refrigerator was not cooling. I immediately went online and put in a claim. I was immediately assigned a claim number and technician. Unfortunately, it was Easter weekend and they were closed. They immediately got with us on Monday morning and the technician was at our house Monday afternoon. In the Choice Home Warranty contract they indicate that they cover water heaters. However, they do not cover what usually happens to a water heater. If the water heater leaks, it is a problem with the tank and they do not cover the tank. So don't expect them to cover a normal water heater problem. I wonder what else is hidden in their "exclusions" for any appliance! Beware!!!!!!

Our 7 year old Dishwasher broke. CHW dispatched a technician to look at it. After consulting with the main office they decided to give us money to simply purchase a new one. The old one was purchased from Sears for $569.00 seven years prior. We have the original receipt. A clause in their contract they will only pay what they can purchase the unit for. They offered us $225.00. I checked with a number of manufacturers and they all said there is no way they can buy a comparable unit for $225.00. I contacted them back and argued the price and they agreed to pay $50.00 more, which was still not sufficient, but they never sent the money. I find they cannot be trusted in what they say.

My garage door was not closing properly. The first tech who came out replaced the button on the wall, which did not fix the problem. Upon notification to CHW, another tech from another contractor came out a short time later and fixed the problem, including a new and quiet motor. Job well done!

In Jan 2015 I had a heater switch prob in which the heater was not coming on. Choice home warranty sent out a service man who changed the switch and did some new wiring. Through no fault of Choice, they wired my unit wrong and left loose disconnected wires. During my summer tune up, they found this issue. I called Choice and they promptly looked it up, spoke with my service man, and approved its immediate repair. This process only took approximately 30 min and my repair was done at no charge to me. And no hassles or delay. Through their accurate documentations of the previous services there was no question I was entitled to this repair at no additional charge. I was extremely pleased how easy this was handled.

I was happy with the service provided by Choice but not pleased with the technician who came to work on my appliances. 1) I had a free service call coming but the technician refused to honor that. 2) The dryer was repaired but not the washer. It still limps along. Re 1) Choice promised to honor the free service call with our next call. 2) I "baby" the washer and get by.

I called in a claim on April 3, 2015 and have received no service. The representative put in my claim wrong, the vendor said he would come out on April 4, 2015 and was a no show no call. I am receiving very poor service which is no service.

I was very satisfied with your quick service and the tech. He called each time before he came to give us an idea of when he would arrive. The dryer was repaired for what we submitted the claim for. But he found another problem that he ordered the part for. The following week our washer had a problem. The same tech came out and installed the new parts in the dryer. The washer was not worth fixing (per your office).
I spoke to someone in your claims area and he gave me my options. I went with getting a check and getting a new washer. The only part I was not happy about was that it would take 30 days for the check to go out.

I called in to have my dishwasher looked at and the cost of fixing it would be more than it was worth. CHW notified me that I will be sent a check in 30 days for the current market value of the dishwasher. All of the customer service agents I spoke to were prompt and courteous.

We had an ac issue at one of our rental properties. I called it in, and in less than 5 minutes my claim was submitted and sent to the company which was assigned to address the issue. I was contacted by the repair company is less than an hour. They handled the repair quickly and hassle free.

It was unfortunate that the company waited five days to order the part but perhaps there was some kind of approval we didn't see behind the scene. The service guys were otherwise quick, friendly, professional. The initial visit was speedy. The analysis was speedy, the actual repair was lightning quick. The only down side was how long it took to get parts approved and delivered. Otherwise, excellent service!

The service technician was excellent. He identified the problem with my washer quickly and ordered the replacement part. As soon as the part was received, he installed it and my washer is working like new! The cost of the service is excellent; I paid a total of $45. What a bargain!
Updated on 04/21/2015: My washer stopped working 10 days after my last service call. I called CHW and they opened a claim number and did not bill me for the service call. The repairman responded very quickly to the issue and stated that the pulley needed to be replaced. He wasn't sure if CHW would cover the cost of the replacement. Early the next morning, I had an email to call CHW about the washer. They agreed to pay a very reasonable amount to replace the washer. It was just delivered. I'm so happy that we have CHW!!

We had out of town visitors arriving and, of course the TV and the A/C stopped working. Fortunately the A/C was covered by Home Warranty. Phone call to working unit in 6 hours!! Service call was $45 on our plan and that's what we paid. We asked for a different HVAC contractor than the last one that came from CHW and the phone operator got us a new good one. Couldn't be more happy with the product.

My Kenmore refrigerator was not working, I called Choice Home, they gave me a claim number ( ** ) and the name of a technician. The technician came over, told me what the problem was and then told me that Choice home Warranty. In a little while I got a call from Choice where they told me that the problem my refrigerator had was not covered. I have no refrigerator, I'm out of $45.00 and I'm never work with this company again. I hope you guys go out of business, you claim to protect, when it comes to act on your promise you pull one on your customers. What comes around goes around sooner than later.

My refrigerator wasn't cooling. The contractor not only diagnosed and fixed the problem but he took time to explain everything and even gave me tips on future care and maintenance.

Choice is great. I have several claims and all have been great. Until right now, the people you sent to me are keeping me waiting, until at least the 9th of April, then they still don't know if the part will be there. This is why not at 5th star.

Dryer was making a noise.Technician called, wanted to know the prob and asked the age of the machine. He came out, ordered a part, and said he would come back with the part. He told us we could continue to run the machine.

My toilets and shower/bath tub backed up 3/3 and Choice send ALL 1 Plumbing to fix this. The sewer line was cleared (as I was told). On 3/27 sewer line clogged -- toilets backing up. Sent ALL 1 Plumbing (** -- MASTER PLUMBER) 843-908-4807. He angrily came and was here 2 hours -- snaked the sewer line, use auger inside toilet, removed toilet, used additional machine outside which he claimed he broke, reset the toilet. Never caulked the bottom of toilet, never put water in tank. Left the house full of leaves, dirt, and no facilities. He told me they were not paying him enough. Couldn't fix my toilets, left me without facilities at 6:30 PM FRIDAY night.
I sent CHOICE numerous emails and phone calls. It is now considered a weekend and had to wait until MONDAY. I live alone -- no toilets, no showers. I called an outside plumber in and he immediately fixed my sewer line and toilets. The problem -- toilet paper wadded up in the sewer line a few feet from the front of the house. Solution solved. The plumber -- JENKINS PLUMBING, 843-784-5244, had to reset the toilet, caulk around the bottom. Told me there was no water in the tank because ALL 1 Plumbing broke the guts inside the tank. This has to be replace at my cost.
I sent a copy of the bill I received from JENKINS for $225.00 (a fair price for weekend). CHOICE HOME WARRANTY called me within an hour of receiving my fax and told me they were sending me a CHECK for $225.00 to cover my costs. They will never use ALL 1 who misrepresented himself. I have recommended this company to my friends here in SC and some are now customers of CHOICE. I have called my son and sister in Florida and they are considering joining the CHOICE family. Yes, I have recommended them and will continue to do so. A wise CHOICE. A good CHOICE.

They found the best Heat/AC repair man in my area bar none. I would highly recommend this company to all my friends and family. He was very professional and very prompt. Within a few days it was up and running like normal. I have no complaints so far with Choice Home Warranty!!!

The company has since contacted me, and I believe they are sincere in wanting to be fair to their customers. I appreciated the follow-up call and conversation. I do not know where the positive reviews come from, I suspect from the company itself. I have made two calls for service, paid the deductible and nothing gets repaired or replaced. The warranty covers our oven, and it cannot be repaired, because a part is no longer available. They will not replace the oven, just send a small check for what the part would cost if available. This was not the deal we made. They will always find a reason not to repair or replace, this is not a warranty but a scam. There is one thing they do reliably, take the monthly fee for a service they do not provide.

Besides our primary home, my wife and I owned several rental properties. We use Choice Home Warranty at all our houses and we've been extremely happy with the service. We found Choice to be very responsive to our needs and more than fair with our warranty claims. We've recommended Choice Home Warranty to our friends as well.

I had a problem with my condenser. Called CHW to file claim. First vendor wasn't knowledgeable. Lack customer service. CHW assigned another vendor. This vendor was professional and resolved the problem and made repair in one day. Excellent service.

My garage door opener stopped working. I recently purchased an agreement with Choice Warranty, so this was my first claim. When I called Choice Warranty, there was no wait time to speak to a representative. A technician was assigned and contacted me the same day. The technician diagnosed my problem and replaced the entire garage door opener for my co-pay. I was surprised that everything was brand new, they had what they needed on the truck, and a couple hours later, I had a brand new garage door opener.

I had an old issue from January that had not been resolved. The rep from Choice Home Warranty made sure that it was resolved that day or no later than 24 hrs along with waiving my deductible for the service because the technician wasn't professional along with not being truthful to me and never returning to repair my problem but thanks to choice my issue was resolved and I am now and once again a satisfied and happy customer.

I have had Choice for almost 2 years. I have made two service claims of which one repair was cover but would not fix the entire problem so I opted to replace the appliance on my own. By recently I filled a service claim and I must say I was extremely impressed with the professionalism, timeliness, and efficiency. I filled the claim and with in minutes I received an email with assigned service company. Within the hour the company contacted me. Within 4 hours they were at my house. In less than 24 hours my a/c was fixed. All for $45 and I didn't have to take any time off from work to meet the technician. The technician worked within my schedule. I am elated!!!

When I was I was first shopping for home warranties I was very skeptical and expected to have a hassle with making a claim regardless of who I chose. My experience with Choice Home Warranty has so far been a very pleasant one. They were the most cost effective of all the ones I looked at and while they do have some bad reviews here and there, it appeared to mainly do with isolated cases and bad contractors. With such a big company you are bound to get some bad eggs.
In terms of my experience, when I had a problem with my dishwasher, I called the toll free number, was put on hold for only a brief amount of time then I was able to speak with a person. After a couple qualification questions, she gave me a tracking number and a contractor to contact. I called the contractor, arranged an appointment for the next day and that was it. The next day, the contractor arrived on time, found and fixed the problem. They were courteous the entire time. I do not often give 5 stars, but I really do not have anything to complain about and I feel it is well deserved.

Subject claim/order was taken care of expeditiously. Problem was previous work performed for heater not working was not completed correctly.
