    My request for service on my refrigerator/freezer was handled quickly and efficiently. The contractor assigned to the problem was courteous and mindful of my dire situation in that I told him that I had just loaded the unit that morning with $100.00 worth of food. He had to go to an adjoining county to get the necessary part since it is an older unit, but he promised to return by 7:00 PM and make the repair and he was true to his word.     I called Choice Warranty to set up a second call (June 4th) about the A/C unit, still not functioning properly. Ok, on June 16th, I had to call them again...about same exact issue. This would have been the 3rd call. Choice Warranty assured me they would inform this same company to review the unit properly; therefore, in order to get the unit to function properly. Choice Warranty has excellent customer service, but some of the companies that are contracted are not as professional as the company they are contracted with. I appreciate the professionalism Choice Warranty always provides!

    I have found Choice Home Warranty to be extremely responsive and very fair in their coverage. I've had dealings with other companies, and that experience has not been nearly as good. When you enter a claim, they respond - usually within a few hours. The contractors have all been pretty good, though one of them billed CHW/me for a part they did not install (I hope you guys chase them down). Let's be honest: they are not a charity and in the business to make money. But if you take care of your stuff (with regular maintenance), and it breaks down per the warranty terms, I have found CHW to be very fair on their repairs.

    If this is published on CHW website I will be surprised. I had American Home Shield and was wowed to Choice because of the low pricing of the plan and $45 home visit cost. The first time I used them one of my air conditioners went out. We are in Arizona, at 110 degrees today. They sent out a local company. The guy was courteous and nice. The result was I had a broken fan blade and it caused the motor to fail. So Choice will NOT PAY for what they call secondary damage. So the Fan can be fixed but not the $400 motor. I feel like a fool. But the home office insists their contract of which I never got a copy states secondary damages not covered.

    I purchased my home a year ago and had no issues with Old Republic Home Warranty. In fact, they were awesome -- not one claim denied. I researched home warranty companies and found Choice as a 5 star rated company, so I switched and went with them May 2015. It is now mid-June and my A/C started blowing warm air. I called Choice and made my first claim. The repairman came out and said I needed a new compressor, but because the age of the unit he would recommend a new outside unit because the cost is similar.

    Choice DENIED the claim, telling me that it was a pre-existing problem prior to me signing with them on May 9th, 2015! The fact of the matter is a compressor is a wear item on an outside unit and who in the world can determine when it may go out? I immediately FIRED them and rehired OLD REPUBLIC HOME WARRANTY. I am astounded by their 5-star rating. If in fact that is true, then the rating system needs to be dumped and rewritten! SHAME ON YOU CHOICE HOME WARRANTY! You are not even 1 star in my book.

    Everything I call to get fixed is not covered. I never received any contract showing limits on what they fix. I added the ice maker and paid extra, but found it does not cover a freestanding ice maker. The light in my shower quit working. Again, I was told that it was not covered. When I complained, they said they would send somebody out. Any plug outside the house is also not covered.

    I called on a Friday morning when my air conditioner stopped working. Choice Warranty located and had a service tech here by about 4pm. The fan motor on the outside unit was out. ** the tech was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He also added Freon and tuned the unit. He noticed some other problems with a previous company's shoddy work and made recommendations for its repair. Also pointed out where a drain trap needs to be installed that had been left out of the original installation.     This past week I had a very favorable experience regarding the repair of our upstairs A/C unit that was not cooling properly. Choice Home Warranty selected a very competent contractor, Lovic HVAC LLC, to make the needed repairs. When I called Lovic, I was immediately scheduled for a repair call to come out within 36 hours. Technician called and asked if he could make the repair a little earlier. He arrived shortly and within about 45 minutes had inspected our A/C equipment, correctly diagnosed my A/C's need, and completed the repair. Before leaving he checked the temperature of the air again at the ceiling register and it was then cooling very well at 54 degrees. What a difference this man made in our homes comfort level. He was prompt, courteous, and competent. I am a happy customer!

    After calling you for 4 times and waiting on calls back to get my air condition working, the first repairman would not show up because you refuse to pay his other repair bills. If you are that big of a company you should have all kind of repairmen on your call list. Your company seems to be running a scam. They sign people up and take their money then when you need a repair you can't find anyone to do the repair because you don't have any repair facilities to do the work because you won't pay them and they have wised up and quit doing work for you.     Have been with Choice Home Warranty for almost a year. This was my second claim with them. Most recent, my 1968 Kenmore upright freezer died while away in Central America.     The next day he called giving me a heads up he was on his way. And was at my home at the set time. The repairman was very professional, neat and knowledgeable about the problem. The old Kenmore freezer could not be repaired. After the repairman spoke back with Choice Home Warranty and reported his findings. In less than 10 minutes Choice Home Warranty was calling me advising me how the replacement process took place. They reimbursed me the cost of my new freezer within 30 days. The issue was diagnosed and I was told that CHW would have to authorize the part needed to fix my machine. They called me back with the decision that the part needed was too costly for the life expectancy of my wash machine. Instead I was offered ** of dollars towards the purchase of a new machine. My husband and I feel this solution was fair and appropriate. My only complaint would be the processing time needed to refund me a check. 30 days or less.     I had an 18 year old Craftsman garage door opener that suddenly became inoperative. I called Choice and when they couldn't immediately contact a jobber they gave me the option of calling a jobber locally and they would reimburse the covered charges.     When our very old AC unit finally broke down, I called Choice and technician was sent to the house. I then found out that they required a specific leak test that they would not pay for. The quotes I got for the test were from $250.00 to $900.00. So I hired someone to do the test and was told by Choice that the 27-year old unit could only have broken down from no maintenance so they were not going to pay for the repair. It was 27 years old. And they claimed that there are only four ways that the unit could break and none were covered. So I have to come up with another $2500.00 to replace the unit. I cancelled the coverage with them immediately. Liars and thieves. Don't use them. Their per visit cost is cheaper than some others but the whole thing is a setup and when you need an expensive repair, they will move quickly to cut you loose.

    I have been with Choice a while with 5 properties at one time or another. It has been extremely difficult to repairs done on my ac's. They tell you that age of the appliances is no problem until you submit a claim. I have had to replace 3 units myself and for that reason why would you need a warranty. That means I am paying twice. Not a good company to me.

    This warranty is hopeless and basically covers minor repairs. And though they say they will replace if the problem is irreparable, this is not the case. So please save your monthly policy premiums and cost per visit as it will come in handy when you have to pay for the repairs / replacements yourself. CHW will NOT replace anything and without any proper diagnostics they just tell you to "read the uncovered exceptions" (if the system needs to be replaced). And talking about customer service, I would rate them at 0.25/5 if there was an option. And the manager who dealt with my claims was also rude and had zero customer service ethics and was just blunt and offered to cancel my policy if I was not satisfied with their response to my claim.

They would then call us back when they were available to see if they could come out. Well, for 2 days when they would call, my wife was not going to be home at that time.     I had my first claim today, it was for an HVAC unit not functioning. The claim was denied because the motor malfunctioned causing the compressor to fail. They said the compressor failure was secondary to the motor failure and because of that it was not going to be covered. I have had a home warranty in the past and have NEVER heard of this.     New Customer - first time user - everything about this process is a FAIL and the Sales Rep lied, lied and lied again. Response times are totally made up, service in our area totally made up but the worst part is the illusion of 24/7 contact. FORGET IT. No one answers the phone - if you're willing to hang on for an hour - you get a Rep that can't say anything but "we're sorry for the inconvenience." The "technicians" assigned don't service the area and you get to do it all over again. Call the number and wait on hold UNLESS you select the Sales Option - pickup on the first ring. Not that it will get you anymore service but at least it saves the hours of listening to how important you are to them by the automated system.

    Use the website and it only gets worse. Send an email and it generates a new work order (I have 3 right now) and still have no "technician". No chance of getting anyone out today, tomorrow is Sunday so that's not going to happen but more importantly - I have no one to even contact. Get the sales persons name. Make sure to call and detail every lie they told. I only hope they get paid a percentage of each contract because I'm cancelling mine.

    I have been experiencing a problem with my heat pump since the beginning of March. The first technician that was sent was clueless to HVAC issues.     I wish you had service people in San Angelo. The 50 miles radius idea for service people doesn't cut it when your service person is a distance away. And it's the only service for that small town, they are less likely to make a run to me 30 miles away and service the hometown. I called my own serviceman because your person never called me.     I made 2 claims within 2 months for my AC. The first claim resulted in a tech adding freon but telling me I had a leak but he wasn't allowed to fix it. The second claim, I cancelled and opted to have my AC repaired by a company who would ACTUALLY fix it and not give me the run around. Choice Home Warranty told me that I could submit a reimbursement claim. My AC was under manufacturer warranty and the parts were covered; however the labor and freon was not covered and I paid $1035. Choice denied the reimbursement based on their not covering warrantied items but labor and freon wasn't under warranty... only the evaporator coil. They offered me a $33.75 (one month credit of the contract). I regret choosing Choice Home Warranty and as a result of my dissatisfaction have cancelled my Choice Home Warranty contract today.
