My water heater wasn't producing hot water. Repairmen were called out and they replaced the thermostat in a timely manner. The repairmen were professional and were very efficient. Within 15 minutes the water heater issues were resolved. I am a very satisfied customer! Thank you Choice Home Warranty!

Monday 8/17 my air conditioner quit cooling, I called and requested service and within 20 minutes of my call received a call from the a/c repair company (Bennet & Sons A/C LLC). They apologised for not being able to send out a tech that day but promised one would be here Tuesday morning. True to their word they were here just after 8:30 am and before too long the a/c was running again. I am most impressed with both Choice Home Warranty Co. and Bennett and Sons for providing excellent service, will be recommending your company to our friends. Thank you.

I had a great experience with Choice Home Warranty. My washing machine recently failed and flooded my home. Insurance covered the damage, but after paying the deductible, I was short on cash to buy a new washing machine. Fortunately, my Choice Home Warranty policy covered my washing machine and we were up and running again in a couple days keeping us out of the coin-operated laundromats! We were very satisfied with the quick, professional, and trouble free service we received from Choice Home Warranty!

My AC suddenly stopped working and the lows during that week was in the 90s. I called and the claims representative that assisted me was very helpful. I originally wanted to use my own tech to get the work done and she explained the process to me. After further consideration, I decided to use a tech referred by Choice. Within 4 hours of being referred to a local repair company, they called me to schedule an appointment. Although they weren't able to get to me same day (which would have been preferred because it was so hot and I have an asthmatic daughter as well as a dog), they did schedule an appointment for me the next day and promised to call me if they were able to come sooner. The repairman was punctual and professional and within 30 minutes of him arriving, he had my AC back up and running.

We have had Choice Home Warranty for about 2 and 1/2 years and have turned in several claims. All claims were either denied or only minimally covered. When I called to cancel after they refused a roof repair they agreed to pay if we would not cancel. Today was the last straw, I had a plumbing backup on a weekend and had to get my own plumber as the CHW rep told me that their contractors were only Monday through Friday. This was an emergency as we would not be able to use our facilities. We hired a plumber who snaked our line through the toilet that flooded. He charged $438 on a Sunday which included a $119 weekend charge. 2 plumbers came out, were very thorough to determine cause of back up and spent about 3 hours at my home and fixed the problem!!
Choice told me that that did not cover snaking a drain through the toilet opening. And that their rate was $110 minus the $45 service charge. So for my $438 they are reimbursing $110 - $45 ($65) total. They have exclusions for EVERYTHING!!! They are a scam and would not recommend them to anyone. I will be cancelling as soon as I receive my $65 refund check and deposit it. They told me if I cancelled they would put a stop payment on their check!!

I contacted Choice Home Warranty and the customer service representative was speedy and efficient. They contracted it out to the local specialist who contacted me same day. We've been worked on a time and day best meet our needs. Everything was fixed same day. I recommend using Choice Home Warranty.

It took a lot of time to find a company to help me. My hot water heater was broken I had no hot water for 6 days. I was very very lucky to talk to a supervisor Andy who found me two people to help me. I think that he is a wonderful caring person.

I entered an online claim and received a response almost immediately. The assigned technician was able to come out not only the same day but before lunch! He fixed my electrical issue quickly and was polite. He also had suggestions for me to help make things better. I'm very impressed and am happy I have service through Choice Home Warranty.

Customer service is responsive, professional, and complete. Pleasure to work with. 2nd issue we have encountered with this newer home and extended warranty. Both issues have been quickly addressed and the service people recommended have been very good. I will most likely reenlist with Choice Home Warranty for another year based on these 2 experiences.

Eternity Pools was sent to look at a leak issue and discovered a burnt out motor was the issue. Their technician kept me informed and made sure the pool is being repaired before the water turns green to save me on chemicals.

So far I have been satisfied with Choice Home Warranty. I was very skeptical in the beginning. Not with just CHW, but with all of them. Some of the reviews were not the greatest but I decided to give them a chance so I could make up my own mind. I knew it would be a great thing if they held up their end and they have done everything they said they would do. I have had one repair done since enrolling and they got right on it. Their prices beat the other ones I checked on also. So far, I highly recommend CHW and if you are considering getting this type of warranty, and I think everyone needs it, give Choice Home Warranty a try!

I have had to use Choice for air conditioning problems and washing machine problems. Ac was repaired in two days. Washer took longer because a part had to be sent to repairman but even then my washer was only down a couple of weeks. Fortunately I live alone so this did not present a problem for me. I can see where it might be a big deal if I still had a houseful of people. The tech took 2-3 days each time he came i.e. first call and then when part arrived.

My air conditioner stopped working. Someone was here in 1 day. The guy could not fix it because it was electrical problem. Choice home had an electrician out. The next day problem solved. I'm happy. Waived the service charges on the electrical. Was thankful for that.

I had a pipe blocked in the utility room. Called in claim, received very helpful support. Received call from vendor/tech that day, and they came out and resolved the issue the following. This was/is a much better and faster response than experienced with several other home warranty companies.

The plumber that came to our home was very nice and professional. He was able to diagnose problem and repair within a few hours. The CHW team was right on top of our problem and had the plumber contact us within a few hours. We are very pleased with the service.

The Unit's fan motor broke during a triple digit temperature surge, we logged online to file a claim and was immediately assigned a service technician. The technician called to set appointment, although they were inundated with service calls. They were prompt and professional, they inspected the unit, called Choice Home Warranty for an immediate approval and the motor was immediately changed. The system works great now, thanks for the excellent service.

Called Choice Home Warranty. Told them of garbage disposal failure. Was advised that R&M Plumbing would be calling me to set appointment to fix my problem. Was given their telephone number. R&M Plumbing came out the same day. They told me they had to notify warranty company to get a new garbage disposal. R&M called me and made appointment to install new part. They came out and quickly installed new disposal unit. All of the folks I dealt with were true professionals that were interested in fixing my problem. My thanks goes out to the folks at Choice Home Warranty and R&M Plumbing.

Claim for washer & dryer - claim initially reported 8/3 & received email confirmation same day. Actual claim delayed until 8/ 12 since we were on vacation. A-Z claim came on 8/13. Ordered parts delivery delayed until 8/17 & parts installed on 8/18. Bart (A-Z) polite & made repairs promptly. Would use him in the future.

CHW is an excellent company to get most everything covered in your home. I made claim online, they called right away. Service Tech they appointed called right away and appointment was schedule for Wed. He called on Sunday evening to reschedule to come early Monday morning. I was so thrilled that he thought getting my fridge fixed was a priority. He was very pleasant, neat and took the time to explain to me what was happening. Thank You CHW.

First Choice Home should be aware of the shining star they have in Tracy ** who has displayed some of the best customer service skills have I seen in years (and I used to train at Citi). She promptly stepped up and apologized for the poor customer service I had received. The issue had already been resolved but handled poorly and at great frustration to myself personally, but that is all in the past. Thank you Tracy, you are a tremendous asset to Choice and I hope they realize it.

First I want to point out that I was "Okay" up to this morning. While not happy with the technician that Choice sent, I was happy with the way Choice handled the situation... until this morning. It all started with the AC going out during the evening of the 4th of August, ugh.. Texas and night time temps were in the 90's but I placed my claim with Choice via online, and by 7 am Wednesday morning had a tech to call and schedule appointment. I tried calling him from 8 am to 10ish that morning, and when he finally answered he was very rude and put out but did say that he would be there between 2-8 that day.
Great, took off work and waited. At 7:30 pm I called to check and see if he would be there. House was 93 degrees with ceiling fans and floor fans circulating hot air (I know it is not life threatening but uncomfortable in 90% humidity) and he informed me he was eating dinner with his family and he did not get to me today, so would be there by 9 am on Thursday. Ok, still not "angry" but called Choice and I did not think his behavior was what they would expect. Again rep very nice, sympathetic, even stated that I could request another tech., but probably would get one out before Friday. I agreed and waited till morning. At 9:10 with no tech I called him and was told that he would be there shortly. I called Choice as I had a 11:30 flight and needed to leave.
Choice called him and he told them it would be 2-3, and while he was still on the phone the rep came back to me and told me this. I explained that I had a flight and she went back to the tech and told me he was on the way. He arrived at 10:05, spent 5 minutes at the unit and told me the fan motor was out. He did not have one and would have to pick one up. He would be back Friday morning. OK now have to board dogs, and have someone come and wait for him on Friday morning, and you guessed - he never showed up. Never even called. So once I landed and was in my hotel room, I called and he told me "he forgot" and would be there Saturday.
I called Choice livid, and they called him, and came back and said that he is very sorry and he "PROMISES" to be there Saturday morning at 10 am. Ok now husband has arrived home from his trip. House is 96 degrees so he goes and stays in a hotel, comes back home Saturday morning at 7 am, and guess what, by 10:30 no tech and he does not answer his phone. I call Choice and tell them I want to use my own tech and be reimbursed, which was an option offered to me on Friday, BUT I was asked to give him another chance because he "PROMISES."
So again the reps are awesome, explain that I do need to have my tech call in with a diagnosis that will work. My neighbor owns his own AC company, was over in a moment, said that the fan motor was out, drove 78 miles each way to pick one up, got the AC unit working FIRST, then called Choice with the diagnosis. And then while I was driving with 4 others in the car on SPEAKER Choice called and a woman who said she was a Supervisor in Claim Reimbursement, stating that because of all the issues and problems with their tech, they would reimburse the full 482.00, instead of the 242.00 that was their price, just send in the invoice.
So when I got home my neighbor had left a invoice, NOT BILLING me for drive time, mileage, or even the FREON that he put in our unit. He billed only for the ACTUAL cost of the motor $ 412.00 and 70.00 in labor. Nothing more. I completed the form and sent to Choice, all good right? NOOOOOO. I get a voice message and then an email that it was imperative that I call immediately. I called this morning and waited 15 minutes for the first person to tell me that I need to speak with someone in reimbursements, (I called the number they left) and then I get a VERY condescending person who tells me that she wanted to let me know that even though the invoice states 482.00 because I used my own tech, they were only paying 242.00 and my check will arrive in 30 days.
I tried explaining (very patiently) the issues I had due to their tech, and what I had been told, and she told me, "Regardless we only pay our price." I asked for a supervisor, and she said, "I am THE supervisor," to which I told her that I wanted to speak to someone ABOVE her, unless she owned the company, to which I was placed on hold for another 10 minutes. She came back and said, "We are paying your claim in full, your check should arrive in 30 days."
I know that the 150.00 I paid in boarding is not covered, the 150.00 paid for hotel is not covered, the aggravation of their incompetent AC technician cannot be measured, BUT you would think at least the final person I spoke with could have at least bore some human compassion? Yes, I am angry that it even had to go this far. I am angry that the reps in the company are more human than your so called "supervisors" and yes I am angry that instead of the reimbursement being processed on the 13th as I was told it is just now being processed on the 19th?

I called in a claim on 8/10/15 to this company which I had purchased on 6/10/15 however they have a 30 waiting period so the contract didn't actually start until 7/10/15. The service provider came and determined the repair was extensive and was told when contacting Choice that they had to review the repair. I received an email from them to contact them immediately. When I called I was told this was a pre-existing problem and they were not covering it. When I signed up with them, I was covered by AHS and did not cancel that program until July so I was covered by a warranty policy. If the problem had been pre-existing I would have contacted AHS while under contract but the problem did not begin until right before I called it into Choice.
When I called the company I spoke to a account rep who informed me they were not covering the repair. I asked to speak to a manager who was very rude and talked over me when I tried to explain my side. Totally unprofessional and cancelled my policy with them immediately. If I want to purchase one of these warranty programs, I would go back to AHS. The only reason I switched was because the person who called me from sales, offered a good price and knew I was covered by AHS at that time and thought that was good and didn't see any problems when switching. I guess you get what you pay for!! Terrible company and employees!!!

I called regarding a nonfunctional AC unit. The CHW representative was very helpful and professional. Claim number was issued and local vendor name and phone number was provided and time frame to expect a call from the vendor. The entire process was very smooth.

I just switched to Choice in June and had an issue with my washer in July. I am unhappy that it took 2 weeks to have a service person come out and fix the washer. I am hoping with something major like heating or cooling it does not take this long. The repairman found out there was more wrong than initially was reported and discovered with the cost of labor and parts, it would be more to fix the washer than it was worth. Choice offered to buy me out and will be sending a $300 check so I am look for a new washer. The only downside is it may take up to 30 days to receive the check which means a longer wait to clean clothes out at my house. But with this all said, I am happy that they sent a knowledgeable repairman and that Choice is sending a check so I may buy a new washer.

I contacted Choice Home Warranty on a Monday. Within two days they emailed me contractor to contact. However contractor did not have the time to assist me with my ac. Contacted home warranty again and they got in touch with new contractor that came right out and fixed my problem. Thanks so much. I am so glad I purchased this home warranty.

I filled out the form online and immediately got a call from some guy. I think his name was Terry ** but phone # was (732)947-5441. I'm a salesman myself and this guy basically got mad that I refuted every sales tactic he used (e.g. "We have a special discount going on right now..." "We're the #1 home warranty company in the US..." "You have a 30 day money back guarantee, even though you can't make a claim until after 30 days.").
He eventually asked me if I was a salesman because he already knew that I knew what he was doing. After confirming, he quickly tried to get me off the phone by saying, "sir, are you planning on buying a home warranty today or just browsing the website?" I said, "I'm planning on buying one soon but wouldn't necessarily have to be by today." Then he said, "ok, have a nice day." and hung up. Thanks for checking to make sure you answered all my questions, bud! I immediately closed the website after that and didn't even think twice about asking for more information.

The igniter went out in my oven. The warranty company got a repair company that called me within an hour. It was covered but had to be ordered abroad. Took a week but it works. They also called and emailed to followup.

Choice was quick to get a service company. Sears was used. They came on time and decided they needed to order parts. Then things got rather confusing. Not to the fault of Choice but Sears. Another tech was to come and parts were to be mailed to house but it was not coordinated properly and next thing I know is they are not fixing but replacing. Then when Sears is making appointment to install, they say they will come but we must have new hoses, or they will not hook it up, just leave it. I called Choice, they took care of this immediately! I am very happy with Choice. This was my first claim. It took longer than I would have thought but that was due to the Sears tech changing a fix that needed parts to be mailed and then deciding it couldn't be fixed. Choice arranged for a replacement! Thank you Choice. I would recommend you to others.

On July 24, 2015 I made a claim that my outside AC unit was heating up and the fan was stopping to run a few minutes after being started. They assigned the job to Tropics Air Conditioning & Heating who unfortunately never made a service appointment. CR Air Services, Inc. was subsequently assigned the claim on July 27, 2015. On July 30, 2015 CR Air Services, Inc. came and assessed the equipment.
According to their invoice No. ** - Found upstairs unit not cooling, started the unit and compressor or fan would not run. Tested run capacitor, OK. Tested start capacitor, very weak and leaking. Removed start kit from circuit and started unit. Unit was running low on refrigerant, approximately 4 lbs. Leak tested system and found unit leaking from Schrader cores. Added 4 lbs. of R-22 unit 265/80 psi R-22 8 degree superheat. Added new screws missing from panel and as we were packing up to complete job condenser fan motor quit. I CALLED BACK INTO AUTHORIZATION AND THEY SAID THEY WERE NOT GOING TO COVER ADDITIONAL REPAIRS. 1 condenser coils and evaporator coils dirty and need to be cleaned. Estimate to replace fan motor is $695.40 plus additional trip charge.
It defeats common sense why Choice Home Warranty (CHW) would give approval for the initial job per their authority No. ** for $353.00 but immediately deny approval for additional repairs. I talked to a Customer Service Representative who adamantly told me CHW would not approve the reason being that the coils were dirty. I contracted a private contractor GC Services who replaced the condenser fan motor and capacitor, added freon for only $320.00. I asked GC Services whether the condenser coils were dirty and was informed they were clean except for the debris at the bottom of the unit (but every outside unit in wooded areas would have some sort of debris at the bottom of the unit). I was informed the debris would have no effect on the fan motor which is at the top of the unit. The fan motor could have been heating up because of wear and tear - it was installed in 1998.

I'm a real estate agent and I referred one of my clients to Choice Home Warranty because I thought they would be a good company. My client has lived in her home for 40 DAYS. During the inspection, the air conditioner worked fine. The air conditioner has worked fine up until two days ago and it went out. My client called Choice Home Warranty to get it repaired and they sent someone out and said that it is the compressor. The claim was denied because they said the problem was pre-existing. The air conditioner has worked fine until now. There is nothing in all of their paperwork that says a date that a compressor would not be considered pre-existing.
After getting the total package home warranty, which is the most expensive, my client still has to pay to have her air conditioner fixed, not to mention the $60 trade call fee that she had to pay for them to tell her that they will not help her. I WILL NEVER REFER ANOTHER CLIENT TO CHOICE HOME WARRANTY, in fact, I will discourage them from using them. They are a joke! Do not waste your money!!!

Our coverage included our in ground pool. The pump stopped working on Wednesday morning. Within 2 hours of contacting Choice Warranty I received an email to contact the technician listed in the email. Thursday morning the technician arrived and diagnosed the problem, order parts and Saturday morning the new parts were installed. Pool pump working great and I would highly recommend Choice Warranty and the additional pool coverage.

Purchased warranty June 29, 2015. Took effect 30 days later on July 29,2015. On July 30, forced air fan in unit stopped working. Outside temps 110+ degrees during day here in Arizona. Choice sent out local tech who confirmed fan motor was out. Repairs estimated at $620.00. He called Choice and they denied claim because warranty had only been in effect 2 days. I spoke to Choice rep and he stated that motor was "obviously in process of failing before policy took effect." I told him I thought that was the reason for the 30 day waiting period. Asked for and received refund minus $50 administrative fee. Have since lodged complaint with AZ Dept of Insurance for denial of claim. Online search reveals many such complaints against Choice.

When our main water line in the house began to leak, I called Choice and they sent a plumber out right away. We had the leak fixed that same day. Everyone I spoke with on the phone was very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. My experience was hassle free and handled well. I am so thankful that I have a Choice Home Warranty.

I only gave 1 star because it was required. The customer service is horrible. Filed my first claim for a broken motor on my dishwasher, they wouldn't fix because they said it could not have broken in the short time I had the warranty. A motor can break at any time. I have 2 houses insured with this company, I'm a little nervous about anything else breaking. I ended up canceling both because they wouldn't work with me. I'm very disappointed.

Responded and provided a tech immediately. The reimbursement approval process went fast, however, the process to receive the check is 30 days which it should be a less time frame. I'm grateful I had Choice warranty to cover this expensive combo washer and dryer.

Warranty just tries to find ways not to pay. They told me that tech had said the equipment was old and was broken before taking warranty. In fact I called tech and tech in person at time of evaluating system said it was in good condition and disrepair could have happened recently, not as Choice Home Warranty said. They offered me $100 to replace a microwave that is $350. They are absolutely a pain to deal with. Cancelled policy!!!

I reported the touch pad malfunctioning of the oven stove in December 2014. The CHW assigned the repair work to a contractor, who looked at the unit and ordered a part. After couple of months, they replaced one part, but that did not work. So, they ordered another part and replaced it after a few months. But, the replaced part turned out to be defective and the touch pad still did no work. On contacting the CHW, they assigned the work to another contractor. I don't know what this contractor told CHW, but they assigned the work to the third contractor. This contractor came to see the unit and sent report to CHW.
As per telephone conversation with this contractor, they suggested CHW to replace the unit as the repair cost could be close to the price of unit and it was not worth repairing the unit. On contacting CHW, the claim supervisor told us that they cannot do anything and they closed the claim. After filing the initial complaint, they said they are working on it, but did not do anything and told us over the phone that they cannot do anything. Finally, the unit was not repaired and remained in the same condition where it was in December 2014. As a result, the CHW company failed to honor the home repair agreement. I strongly believe that the legal action should be taken against such companies in order to protect consumer rights.

Last week my air conditioner stopped working in the middle of the day. I called Choice Home Warranty right away and may I add that it was 105 degrees outside in Houston, Texas. The inside of my home was about 82 degrees downstairs with my two children home. When I contacted Choice Home Warranty they provided the technicians contact information and my air conditioner was fixed about 2 hours after I got off the phone. The initial technician assigned stated he was located too far away to give timely service. He suggested a reassignment to a closer technician. This was done, and the technicians arrived the next day and repaired the washer. Unfortunately, the washer experienced the same problem within a week. Rather than mess with a continuing problem and likely further repair delays, I bought a new washer. I was happy with the service provided by the technicians regardless.

Our AC system went out and we were in a hot house for several days. Richard came and saved the day. He was so friendly and professional. He had even known the previous owners and so he was able to get to the problem and address it right away. Living in Arizona can be challenging in the summer. We hit record highs of 117 degrees this week and one of my rental units AC stopped cooling. I took out home warranty with Choice Home Warranty; my claim went into effect on 08/10/2015. Called Claim Dept. concerning A/C repair. They sent subcontractor out (Sprint Heat and Air). They did not come into the house and later report both of my central unit needed to be replace. Choice called later and told me I would not be cover due to the short time my membership was effective. Talk to supervisor Measha; told me to get a second look by another A/C co. I did. The A/C co. came out and fix the A/C problem just by adding more freon. I was told I would not be reimburse by Choice co, however; the manager tech I spoke with and then was told they would not reimburse me due to freon leaks and I should spotted the leak (how can you see a gas leak such as freon?). Now again they say "you are not covered." I am seeking legal help. I paid the contractor over $600.00 in repair fees. Scam company! Choice!!!

I filled out their mobile website for a quote in which a guy called me during work hours. I asked him to call me back in which he did and stated if I bought right now, I can save money. I asked how much in which he stated $50.00. I said "let me discuss it with my wife" and he replied right off "just pay the Internet price while you talk to your wife" and hung up the phone. I called to file a claim and the person with CHW was very friendly and got my claim opened quickly. My appointment with the AC repair company was made within a couple hours. The repairman came out and within 30 minutes identified and fixed the issue. My house is cool again in this Texas summer heat, and am very happy that it was quickly taken care of. My only concern was that if the unit had to be replaced, the coverage is only up to $1,500 and most AC replacements are much more than that. For now, all is great. Thanks CHW!

I submitted a claim on the Choice HW website and within a few minutes received an email stating my claim was being worked and I would get more information shortly. Within another few minutes my claim was assigned to Chrome Heating and Air Conditioning. A service tech called and scheduled an appointment for the same day. He was not able to make it to my house the same day because he got held up at another location but came to my house the next morning and fixed my problem with the AC. I scheduled an appointment with Phil at PC Electrical for Sat Aug 8, 2015 for about 4pm. He called to confirm, came to my house and inspected the ceiling fan in my bedroom which was not working. We went to Home Depot together to choose a new one. As he was assembling it, he noticed the screws were missing from the box so off to Home Depot he goes without muttering a negative word. Returns, puts up my beautiful ceiling fan, tests the voltage in several outlets and replaces one switch that was not working in the kitchen. I called to buy a contract on Jun 10th, contract doesn't actually start until July 10th. My sales rep told me that I'd be covered for all the items listed if they break after July 10th. My AC breaks in early August, the claims depart denies the request saying that the wear and tear happened prior to contract start date. Worst part, I specifically asked the sales rep whether an old system would be covered. My AC is at least 10 years old, of course there's going to be wear and tear. That's why I buy home warranty. So anything older than your contract start date is liable not to get covered. Furthermore, it's extremely hard to get them on the phone. They email you that they need to speak to you, but don't give you a direct line. I call and wait 30 minutes with the technician standing next to me. Worst experience ever.

I purchased this home warranty in December 2014. I have called in three times. 1) My ac unit broke. The technician came out. Called back to Choice saying the part was under warranty. Choice said since the part was under warranty they would not pay for the repairs. 2) Wash room stop up. The plumber want more than $60 being offered by Choice so they didn't pay for the repair and today I call about both downstairs toilet trying to backup. The plumbers could not find the clean out to open the lines in both bathrooms so they reported they had to pull up a commode and snake from there.
As usual Choice called and when I returned the call they said they would not pay to have the commode taken up so they would not be able to pay for the repair. The plumber said he could do the repair but he would need approx. $400 to pull up and replace the commode and to snake the lines. WHY did I pay $395 for a year of coverage and have to pay for everything myself as well as always having to pay a $45 service charge to the choice technician that never makes the repairs. This company is a total rip-off. I want my $395 plus by service fee back.

The temperature on the first floor was high, stay above 80°C regardless the setting. I was NOT so happy with Choice before because I my last-time experience ended that it was complicated and I used my electrician to fix the electrical problem. However, I am very happy with Choice this time. I was connected in less than 5 min and the lady in Choice Home Warranty was very professional when I called. The service company called in less than 1 hr and scheduled a very reasonable time for service. This time my problem has been solved without headache at all. If I have the same good experiences in the future, I will ask the Choice to cover multiple houses.

I called Choice Home Warranty on Friday morning and they scheduled a service contractor for Saturday between 9 am-1 pm. The confirmation email was quick and accurate. I placed a confirmation call with the contractor immediately and they had confirmed the appointment time and information. However Saturday morning approximately 10 am the contractor called to cancel and reschedule until Monday. This presented a huge problem with my work schedule and a hot house with small kids running around. I placed a call with Customer Service and she was extremely professional and understanding and placed me on hold for a few minutes and found a technician who could come out the same day. After speaking with the new contractor and confirming time frame I was still a little skeptical. As the appointment time approached I placed a ("are you still coming?" call) and was told he was running late but would be there if it took him all night.
The technician showed up and knew exactly what the problem was after receiving order description from Choice. The issue was fixed under 5 mins and all questions were answered much to our satisfaction. We were extremely happy with the easy online claim process and all the email confirmation before and after services were performed. We have heard plenty of horror stories about Warranty Companies, it was truly a delight to have this company perform as we expected this time. I have had Choice Home Warranty for over 2 years now. I came over to them from a competitor who I had been with for 8 years. The experiences I have had with Choice Home Warranty have been 5 star all the way - excellent service, along with what appears to be the best contractors/technicians to do the repairs on whatever the system failure may be. I bought my home one year ago and it came with a one year warranty with Choice Home Warranty. My home was 25 years old when I bought it but it came with a one year warranty to cover any major appliances, including air conditioning, water heater, etc. so I felt confident. Also, this home had been well taken care of, it was updated and very well maintained. However, the following year, this past July 2015, I had a couple of problems with my a/c unit not working properly so I followed the warranty recommendations and had a licensed air conditioning company in my area come out to check and repair any problems I was having with it.
I had the drain line cleaned and water vacuumed out of the overflow pan, the Freon level checked and it did not need any Freon, I had a fan blade on the outside unit replaced because it cracked and broke off, (normal maintenance I thought) but after speaking with the Claims Department at Choice Home Warranty, they stated that they were not able to authorize payment to repair my outside unit because it was not properly maintained. Again, I reminded them I bought the house last year (2014). I was told that if the ac unit was properly maintained (I guess the last 24 years) that the unit would not be in the condition that it was in and they only cover expenses for normal wear and tear. I'm sorry but this is unfair and sounds like a scam to me.
I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone and am sorry that I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with them. Unless, you have a "brand new house" and have "every major appliance in your home maintained every year", and have all the proper paperwork necessary to show proof of said maintenance, don't even consider a home warranty with this company.

Choice Warranty service was quick. I filed the claim in the a.m. and received a call from tech that same afternoon to schedule my appointment. The service tech were courteous and knowledgeable. I would highly recommends this company.

I was happy with the customer service at Choice Home Warranty but was not happy with the technician that came out to my house. He was late and didn't call until after the time to arrive had passed. He also didn't speak very well English and was very hard to understand. When I called Customer Service they were apologetic and assured me that it would not happen again.

Overall, I've been quite pleased with my CHW. I've been a customer for two months and the customer service has been stellar thus far. It's very easy to make a claim either online or via phone. The contractors are very responsive and often times you can get scheduled for service within 48 hours. I would certainly recommend CHW to friends and family alike. One area that could be improved is the collection of the service fee. Since I have the warranty on a rental property it's difficult to pay the technician upon arrival as I am not in the local area. There should be a pay by credit card method.

My air conditioner unit decided to give up on a very hot night in July. I opened a claim online and it was assigned to a contractor by the morning. I decided to employ the contractor that has been servicing my systems for a long time and this option is very important to me - to be able to use the established contractors rather than random ones. It worked very well and promptly - the contractor came next morning, we got the authorization, repair was done, I paid to the contractor and submitted paperwork for the reimbursement. There was a strange case of my paperwork not received multiple times either through email or fax but eventually it was received and is being processed. So besides the paperwork miscommunication and sometimes too long hold time for authorizations (especially when contractor is very busty and can't wait for long time) I would rate the service, quality, promptness and value quite high and would recommend CHW.

Our AC went out in 100 degree heat. The CHW contractor contacted us within an hour, scheduled an appointment and our AC was restored in less than 24 hours! Contractor was very professional and knowledgeable. Customer service was super! We recently changed from another warranty service. So glad we did!!!

We called when our AC system broke and called to schedule for a repair. The failure was diagnosed correctly and repaired with the right part, but the estimate given for when the repairman would show up was off by 4-1/2 hours. Then after the repairman troubleshot the system, he was unable to find the part locally since all the shops where he buys parts were closed or closing or didn't have the part. The main board in the blower system had failed. He had to have it shipped in from Houston. With temperatures above 100 F we could not stay in our house that evening. We had to go to a hotel as well as take our pet to the vet for boarding. It was 6 P.M. the next day before we were back in our house with a working AC system.
Mark the repairman was great. He was able to diagnose and repair our AC system the first time. But it took too long to have the repairman show up and get the problem fixed. Plus we spent additional money on a hotel, boarding for our pet, and food while we were away on top of the $60 fee. We feel Choice should cover for the additional expenses when they occur.

C.A.T. I would recommend this service in the future. They were prompt, courteous, and professional. They took their time and did not rush to get the job done. They double checked their work and tested the AC system before they left. They also called back later in the afternoon to make sure everything was working well.

Choice handled my service request by phone - very friendly. The a/c serviceman contacted me within the hour to set up a time. He arrived on time, found and fixed the problem (broken thermostat) quickly. I was able to use Chase QuickPay to pay the $45 service fee. The whole experience was quick, professional, and the Choice agent and the serviceman were very polite and helpful. My only disappointment is that my programmable thermostat was replaced with an inferior basic model. I'm going to have to pay to replace it with a more efficient model.

My wife came home at 4:00 PM to find it was 84 degrees inside our house and the AC unit was not cooling. I was at work without any of my warranty information from CHW available. Being able to report the issue online was absolutely fantastic and reduced the time to get a service technician to my home. JG Heating and Air Conditioning was assigned to my claim, indicated he would be at my home at 7:00 PM (3 hours after we discovered the issue) and arrived on time (actually a few minutes early). He had the problem identified and repaired within 15 minutes and was on his way in less than 30 minutes. The experience was fantastic considering most AC repair technicians in Texas are covered up right now and one of them I called (they installed our unit and had been servicing it previously) could not even come out until the end of August.

Contacted Choice at 7 pm about a hot water heater problem. They gave me a claim number and the name of a company that would provide the service. The next morning I was contacted early by the service company and was told a person would be out very soon to troubleshoot the problem. The tech arrived, determined the problem, took the info, and said they would get back to us. A couple of hours later, after some back and forth conversation between Choice, service company and us, another tech showed up with a replacement heater. By 2:30 pm we had the new heater installed, waited for the water to heat up. The service company called us back to make sure that all was ok. So far, this has been the best ever home warranty experience. This is the third company we have had and hopefully the last. They are getting a 4 star rating because I never give anyone a perfect score.

Today, Choice Home Warranty (Ray ID # **) denied a warranty claim on my air conditioner. Despite, the on-site technician telling them the compressor went out due to age, they denied coverage saying that the unit wasn't maintained and that air flow was restricted. This company definitely looks for any possible reason to deny the coverage that is promised and does not listen to their contracted technicians that they send out. Would not recommend that anyone choose this company for home warranty protection.

I am very happy with the service I received from Choice. This is my first experience with this company. I left a company that I had been with over 15 years over poor service. I put in a claim to Choice and it was completed in two days. Had I been available, it would have been completed in one day. My a/c was not cooling and it was making noise. So, I called and received a prompt response that my job has been assigned to a technician. I was promptly contacted by Tracy A/C (the assigned contractor) and they gave me a date. Because of high service call volume in summer months they told me that they cannot give me a specific time, but promised me that if I give them a time range then they will be there. They kept their time and did the necessary to fix the issue. The technicians were very knowledgeable and professional. I am very glad with your handling of the claim.

I tried this company even after reading some bad reviews, thinking you can't please everyone, right? Well let me tell you that the bad reviews are probably right. They were in my case. I purchased the policy on 7/3/15 (Account # **) and it was a promotion for 13 months for the price of 12. I was told there was a waiting period of 30 days before the policy would go into effect, I think that this is pretty standard but so much for 13-month policy.
So then after the 30 days passed and the policy was supposed to be live, the fan in my A/C unit outside fails. It was 2 days into the effective period of the policy. I made a claim (Claim #: **) and they denied it saying the issue was PRE-existing (who would pay 400 or so dollars for a warranty and wait over a month to have their AC fixed when the cost to repair from an HVAC shop is the same cost). I called them up and they stuck to this decision and I canceled the policy on the spot. So anyone contemplating the purchase of a warranty with this company I would strongly suggest that you not waste your time and hard earned money; they will most likely find some reason to deny your claims.

I had a problem with my ice maker. It worked sporadically then quit. The technician adjusted the ice maker but it worked for two days and then quit working. Choice ordered a brand new ice maker and I now have ice! Choice is very responsive and the technicians are totally professional!

CHW was excellent. They immediately assigned a contractor. The man and assistant from JR air came the next day. However they left us with a non functional system. It has been ranging up to 82 at 11 PM in the house. Needless to say we could not wait and had to contact another AC company who came out, diagnosed the problem for another 88.50 over my deductible of 45 paid to to the original company. Found out there was a hole in the condenser, we are having replaced tomorrow. Sad but true. CHW ended up not being so great. I have recommended them to many of my friends.
