    First off some facts: I have only owned this home for a few years, it is newer and built in 1997. The furnace inside is the original, but the outdoor A/C compressor is much newer and was installed in 2005 according to the dates on the plate. I have NO RECORDS to show what was or wasn't maintained when I entered into a legal contract with Choice Home to have these items included as-is - no inspection requires as Home Choices AD's tout. My Realtor bought me my Home Warranty as part of the home deal.

    On July 4th, 2015 my 10-year old outdoor PAYNE Central AIR went on the fritz. I called the Choice Home 24 hr center and made a claim Sat. 07/04/2015 at around 6 PM. Come to find out that the claim adjusters are usually only assigning repair companies M-F, but I digress. My claim went unassigned and all my calls to escalate the case went unanswered. I am disabled and have Asthma and terrible Allergies, so opening windows and putting fans in them for air, on our 97 degree heat, just wasn't going to work.

    I called for 5 days straight asking them to send out an approved Choice Home HVAC TECH when finally a CSR at Choice Home said, "At this point and after 3 days of no response by our claims adjuster because they are so busy, just call any licensed HVAC tech in your area and we will cover it." So on Wednesday, July 8th I had Heat Relief, a local HVAC company come out. They repaired the unit and had it fully functional in 15 minutes - seems the compressor start capacitor and the start kit serving the capacitor got warm and failed. My contractor said this is getting to be over 10 years old and has old R-22 in it so he thought it ought to be replaced. I'm a retired Electronics tech, so I stayed outside with him during the disassembly and install and test of the unit.

    Other than throwing in and testing the new parts, the HVAC tech showed me the amperages on the compressor and fan lines, they were fine, but on the high side, which is perfectly normal wear and tear on a Central Air compressor. His results were showing on the compressor line amp draw at 18.5 amp (Payne's recommended between 14-20 amps) so it's within safe factory specifications. The HVAC tech tried to sell me a new one, stating that this will indeed go out again, just due to its age.

    I mentioned my Choice Home Warranty to my HVAC contractor and said that Choice Home said it could be repaired first, or if it can't be fixed, replaced. I asked him if he would accurately relay his findings and the fact that he has it now working fine under the repair clause. In any case, he did the diagnostic and repair for a tune of $545.00. But before authorizing that amount, per Choice Home’s own direction, my HVAC tech needed to call a specially provided number and punch #5 to get directly into an adjuster who would okay the repair or replacement.

    My HVAC tech (who barely spoke English) tried his best to relay the information to the very rude Choice Home adjuster with a strong New York, but who when pressed multiple times for his name, told me "you don't need that." After seeing that there was some communications problems with my HVAC tech and the adjuster, the tech handed me the phone and I reiterated what was needed and what parts the tech installed to get the system working okay. The adjuster then told my HVAC tech to go outside “without the customer present” and use his (the tech’s) smartphone and take multiple pictures of the unit, the pad, etc. of the PAYNE A/C unit outside and text them to a special pictures only line hotline Choice Home has.

    Those pictures showed a very clean pad and area, showing a well maintained, working all without any weeds around it (I maintain it almost monthly by clearing out the fins, weeding and keeping it clean, opened to fresh air). The Claims adjuster hung up and even before the HVAC tech was packing up called me back to have me call the Claims unit. Immediately I was given a blanket read denial that the unit was old and had NOT been properly maintained and so that removes Choice Home liability on repairing or replacing it.

    I was arbitrarily denied. I have heard of other Choice Home Warranty customers who get arbitrarily denied based on zero facts, whenever the customer hires their own technicians and IS NOT patient for Choice Home to call their preferred repair people. Besides maintaining it per Choice Home’s own maintenance plan for the homeowner, within their published suggestions as printed on both the Choice Home site and in our printed contracts, it should also be noted that the unit has not been subjected to any harsh working conditions. In Oregon, we don't normally use A/C because of the mild temperatures in Portland. June was just unusually hot, 90-97 degree avg range.

    Besides all the work I do (and my yard guys do) to keep it pristine, weed and pine needle free, I have also had 3 HVAC companies out for either repairs of the air handler fan or furnace at least three times since I purchased the home a few years back. Sundance HVAC and Northwest Natural Gas has both come out and accomplished a complete system service. The latest being December 2014, less than 7 months ago.

    I have offered what documentation I could find on those system checks and repairs and sent them to Choice Home and they still refuse to cover the repair. I was also told by other ex Choice Home customers that if you have requested multiple services for a repair or replacement to other items in your house, as is my case when my 7-year old Whirlpool washing machine's transmission died and would cost more than a new unit. Their Home Choice repairmen said it was a total and later, about 35 days without a properly working washer, I received a check for in the $200 range towards a new washer, minus my $45 claim fee. Here it is 07/16 and Choice Home Warranty still denies they have any liability.

    I just join Choice Home Warranty from American Home Shield and they was a little less in price and I file a claim and they (Choice Home Warranty) lied and stated my STOVE WASN'T covered... I should have stayed with my other company, but trying to save a dollar this is what I get. And I will not refer Choice Home Warranty to NO ONE. THEY LIE JUST TO GET YOUR MONEY AND PUT YOU IN A CONTRACT. They are rude. I hate I chose them!!!

    I'm a homeowner and was having problem with my central A/C unit not putting out cool air on Monday, July 13, 2015. I called CHW and gave a claim to claim department, it was taken and was assigned to a company for repair. I called the company that it was assigned to and was given a next day appointment but instead I was called back in about four hours and the tech was heading to my home for repair.     My air conditioner went out on a Friday afternoon, so I called Choice Home Warranty. First impressions were good... The contractor called me within an hour. He said he couldn't get out that day and with the weekend coming, the earliest he could make an appointment was Monday at 9 AM. I agreed. The contractor was Reliable services. Never heard of this guy and couldn't find him in the local phone book. I was nervous, thinking he was a fly by night type of repairman hired by these home warranty people to get the lowest price available.

    Monday came and no show. I called his number - no answer. I called Choice, who called him. He called me back about 10:30 saying that the appointment was for 11. I put this down to miscommunication. He showed up at 11:20. After he determined that either the compressor or condenser were inop, he told me I would have to pay him $1000 upfront, because Choice was always late paying their contractors and he couldn't afford to carry that debt. I knew then that something was amiss. Guy said he would call me that afternoon after he gets approval from Choice and he would plan on installation on Wednesday.

    It's now Wednesday. Neither I, nor Choice, has heard from the guy. After EIGHT messages to Choice's "claim specialists" and FOUR phone conversations with "claim specialists", all I can get out of them is "...waiting for Reliable to submit diagnosis." Meanwhile, I sit without my air conditioner in Texas 90+ temperatures. Contrary to their advertisements and statements on their websites, I have found their claim specialists to be unconcerned, short, and not very helpful. I hate to look forward to calling the home office and work my way up the corporate ladder until I find someone who can help me.

    I'm disappointed and angry because Choice does not live up to their advertisements. By the way, I noticed that their 5 star rating is gathered from 2500 of the 4600 reviews submitted. That means only HALF had a good experience. To me, that's false and deceptive advertising. I'll probably cancel with them at the end of my contract period or whenever the A/C guy ever shows up, whichever comes first!

    When called upon to do repairs, they are fine. However, if parts are not available, they DO NOT replace the item like they tell you that they will. They only pay you the repair costs even if the item cannot be repaired. The sales people lie and tell you to pay extra for a "No Cap" policy so that they will replace the items with comparable items. But, when it happens, they claim that they only have reimburse you for repair costs. For a double oven that is $2750 plus installation costs, they paid $500. When a top of the line Maytag dryer went out and the part was not available, they paid $400. Their salespeople will tell you all kinds of lies to sell a policy. Buyer BEWARE!!!

    Laneisha was very helpful and so was the gentleman who called me about the repair of my dishwasher from Choice. However, I was NOT impressed with Alvic Appliance and will definitely NEVER use them. I hope you have another appliance company. The service charge is $45 and I asked the technician, Richard, if they accepted credit cards. He replied "Yes". So, I wanted to put the charge on my VISA. He called it into his boss, the owner of Alvic, and was told to charge me a service fee of $4.00 to put it on my CC. So, I was charged $49 for a $45 service fee. He did not discuss it with me or even tell me about it until I asked for a receipt and saw the charge. I immediately told him to call his boss back and reverse the charge and I paid by check. That was very POOR business on his boss's part. I will tell all my friends and Realtor Associates NOT to use this company.

    We have only been with CHW for a few weeks. We had a leak in our shower caused by the valve and they refuse to send anyone out. It doesn't seem to matter that it is covered in our contract.     I am very upset with the runaround I was subjected to trying to get work performed stopping this leak. There seems to be a problem Choice has getting techs to accept jobs on manufactured homes in Indian River County, Florida!!? This makes no sense to me as there are numerous manufactured home parks in this area. I was told Bobbies plumbing would be assigned, but Bobbies said they advised Choice that they do not work on manufactured homes. I called back to Choice and was again told Bobbies would come do the work; again Bobbies refused the job. There are numerous plumbing concerns in this County but Choice cannot get any of them to work on manufactured home pipe leaks!??

    I will say finally Choice got Artistry LLC to come down from Brevard County (45 miles away). They performed the work and did a good job. I was told the worker was not supposed to do work in Indian River County and came only because Choice begged him to fix my problem for which I am grateful! I do think Choice should work out this conflict with local plumbers, so that there are no long delays and problems getting plumbers out to fix such problems. I would like to be advised of Choice's remedy for this; when and if it is accomplished. Thank You.

    We paid $45 to have a guy look at our AC. The warranty wouldn't cover it because they felt it was pre-existing -- a hole in the AC unit. Not sure how that can be pre-existing! Excuses to take your money and not cover you. Then we cancelled and they refuse to prorate our monthly payment we just paid even though their booklet said you get a prorated refund if cancelled after 30 days. They cover nothing!! Waste of money and time! You are on hold for a long time too. Awful, awful company!!!

    My husband and I purchased a home warranty two years ago with them. In the two years we have had them come out twice for repairs. The total repair cost for the two times equaled 1000, this was told to me by customer service themselves. We spend over 50 a month for our home warranty. This morning a technician came to our home to repair our Kenmore front loading dryer (the kind that sets on the pedestal drawer) and told us that they could not repair it, to call the warranty company to let them know. We were told by the warranty company they would only provide 300 because they found a dryer for 299. I had them send me the link showing the dryer. The dryer was a small, older standard dryer that would not fit our family. I also have to wait for 30 days in order to get the money.     I am extremely satisfied with the service provided by Choice Home Warranty. A lot of comments I read about home warranty companies made me very fearful of being scammed. I was hesitant to sign up for a service like this where there are so many claims of failure to deliver services. So I did my research. With the high ratings that Choice Home Warranty received it made my top 3 list.

    When I spoke to them to discuss my interest their agent was very informative but not pushy. All my questions were clearly answered, not with vague references but with specific details. After reading through the terms and conditions and finding nothing alarming, and because of the great pricing, I signed up for 3 years.
    To date I have had one claim and it has been problematic but it is not their fault. Manufacturers practicing "just-in-time" production schedules actually wait until certain parts are ordered before they even build them. So my repair, which required an entire new motherboard controller, is taking some time. But it's only because of manufacturer delays. CHW has been great and so has the service company they assigned, Major Appliance Repair, on Bell Road in Phoenix, AZ.

    I plan on renewing for as long as I own my home.

    These people make up reasons to not pay for a claim. They send out companies that try to mark up repairs and report false problems. I called them for an AC unit that was not working. They sent LOCKE AC repair on APR 22 2015. The company said I had a loose wire on the condenser outside and he checked the 401a and added less than a pound. In and out 20 minutes. AC goes out again 22 June, they send out American AC. This time he tested and said he found a leak in the evaporator coil in the attic. I should call CHOICE to see when they will allow the evaporator coil to be ordered.

    I called the next day and CHOICE said they have not heard from American. American came out 26 Jun 2015 to at least put in some 401a so we have AC for the weekend. This is Texas Summer heat. When this American Tech came out he said the evaporator coil was leaking and the condenser coil and he put nothing in the system. I called CHOICE and they no denied paying the claim calling it a pre-existing leak.

    This said I called my company AC Doctors out and they showed a catastrophic failure to the condenser coil and after a 4-hour pressure test showed no leak on the evaporator whatsoever. I saw where the leak caused a large oil spill on the cement that could be notice in low light or with a flashlight. They replaced the evaporator coil (under warranty no cost for coil) and charged me for a refill of 401A and repair cost.

    I called CHOICE again explained that their technician in April saw no leak, their technician in June tried to repair the wrong coil and both reported replacing 6 pounds 401A each without seeing any leak on the condenser (the leak was above the fill spout on the coil). This proves that no pre-existing leak existed and their techs ripped them off and tried again with replacing both coils. I was actually saving them money! They said send the repair receipts and they will look.

    First email they denied getting so I resent. Second they denied so I resent. It was the third time they acknowledged receiving. I sent all documents and a picture of the leak. They still called it pre-existing and denied it. I spoke with the manager, twice, same thing. But he was quick to help me cancel my membership. Stay far away from this rip off company.

    When I called the customer service line the rep was very helpful in my response to my needs. My garbage disposal was leaking and there was a leaky valve in the area of the dishwasher. Two work orders were submitted. At that time I asked the rep "If the one company could do the required work on both items would there only be one service fee?" and she responded that if that could be done only one service fee would be required.     I had to call on a Friday about 5pm about an AC that wasn't working in 108 degree heat in S. Nevada. I was assigned a claim number and provided with a company to call in my area with that claim number. Unfortunately, it was after hours on a Friday evening and they could not help me until the following Monday.     This company uses deceptive business practices and false advertising to routinely deny claims on technicalities. It doesn't matter what you think is covered, they will find a way to avoid paying for it. My claim was on a water heater that had started leaking and in addition to water damage (homeowners insurance covers the water damage and has been a great experience) I also need a new water heater. My claim was denied because CHW only covers mechanical components? My water heater apparently was never covered, despite specifically being advertised in my coverage brochure, because it is a water tank and has no moving parts. This is a transparent ploy to deny a valid claim.

    I cancelled my policy for a pro-rated refund minus a cancellation fee and the 45 service call fee. This company cost me over 200 dollars and I received absolutely no benefit. I wasted time, energy and money on an incredibly frustrating experience. Avoid this business at all costs. Just light your money on fire instead. They also spam your inbox with ads for coverage, as an existing customer, which is annoying. You can't block their spam as a customer, because you might miss pertinent emails about your account. Be prepared to use your delete button. Now that I cancelled my policy I can finally report them as spam!

    My washing machine was very loud during the spin cycle and it was also leaking water from the bottom of the machine. I called in a claim Wednesday evening and I was very impressed with the professional customer service provided by CHW. The very next morning I received a phone call that my claim had been processed and forwarded to a local contractor. I contacted the contractor to make an appointment and they told me they were very busy but would still make time to come by and look at my washer.

    I had just switched warranty companies and had only had Choice Home Warranty for a little over a month when my air conditioner started blowing hot air. I called to put in a claim and got the standard message of a high call volume and a long wait however my call was answered in the next minute or two. Upon taking my information the agent gave me the name and number of a service technician to call. Since it was after hours she gave me the option to place an emergency call and then get reimbursed.     My experience so far has been very good. The only thing I would comment on is when my air conditioning broke, it took 4 days to schedule and get a contractor out to my house.     I bought Choice Home Warranty December 2014. I called them for the first time on June 2015. The AC was just blowing hot air. Their tech came in and collected the service fee but he said he needs to perform a leak test to diagnose the problem and the leak test is not covered by the warranty. He demanded $300 to perform the test. I refused to pay him and he left. I called CHW and they said they will not pay for leak test. I found another company to perform the leak test for $155. I called CHW and I was advised to scan and email them the leak test result, and I did. I called CHW the next day and the rep said they have to talk to the tech who diagnosed the problem before they can approve any repairs.

    He said scanning and emailing is not enough. I wasn't told so by the first rep but anyway I got the tech to call them. Then I called again and that's when I was told all repairs are not covered. The rep said the leak is in the internal coil and that means the unit was not maintained properly and they will not pay for any repair. If a warranty wont pay to diagnose the problem despite collecting service call fee, and won't repair the appliance, then they are useless. CHW is in the business of fake advertisement to collect your money but will not provide any service.

    I had a plumbing problem at my rental -- clogged drains. The technician went out and said because there was no in-house cleanout drain it wasn't covered. This didn't make sense to me. He said if I wanted it handled it would cost me $450, which seemed an outrageous price for some clogged drains. It wasn't brain surgery. So I called Choice and spoke with a supervisor I believe who advised me it's not covered. I said I have 3 house under warranty with Choice for 3 year contracts and I expect some consideration.     There is no way a customer would know what kind of HVAC system he has in his home (zone system, etc.). Hence, it does not make any sense if Choice Home warranty mentions in the contract that zone HVAC systems are not covered under the warranty. It would help if a representative from Choice could visit the prospective customer to ascertain the type of HVAC system and inform the customer accordingly prior to his signing up. **, the retention specialist @ Choice appreciated this and was fair to confirm that Choice would mail me a check for $150 (approx 50% of the cost of replacement of damper motor). This is really appreciated. In future, Choice representative should visit a customer's home prior to sign up and inform him of the times which would not be covered under warranty.

    I did not accept this but after I was sold by an aggressive, smooth talking sales guy from NJ who made me pay for the whole year they acted like a car warranty company who are known not to pay any claims. They 100% sold me on this policy, claiming how GOOD Choice is than American Home Shield. I told them AHS ALWAYS found a loophole to NOT pay a claim... and WOW, the 1st claim with CHOICE and they found a LOOPHOLE. I knew it... they are all the same.

    My upstairs AC stopped cooling. Called Choice Warranty and they sent a very unorganized and unprofessional Electrician who fumbled around, he blew sparks and said "OH the Wires got Shorted", then he said "OK I have fixed it." He asked me to turn it on. After I turned it on, the upstairs AC started working then he went outside, spent 15 mins on something then came and told me "OH the AC is not Cooling Now and now the compressor is gone Bad" and I said "OK, when will it be fixed." He said "They will call you." Guess what, they never did.

    When I called them they said OH the AC guy said that the Unit is not covered because I did not have it properly maintained. Choice will not cover the claim because they said that the Unit was Not maintained and asked me to Send in 3 Years of maintenance records WOW!!! What **. Why would One need a Damn Appliance Warranty when I am going to keep 3 Years of maintenance Records. The AC guy also BLEW Out the outside power switch and was supposed to come back and replace it. He Never Came Back... with Texas Heat and people dying of it... Choice Warranty will have to deal with the results of not fixing my AC as it affect my 92 year old Grandmother who has no AC in this heat.

    I am about to call and cancel my warranty and find someone else. What Choice warranty does not know is that I have an online Review Marketing and Reputation Marketing Company and I will make sure that I do a Press Release to 200 online major sites like Boston Globe, CNN and New York Times... which will then get syndicated to 500 other online sites and Viral with the Keyword Choice Home Warranty.     My A/C went out in and around 6/25 and I called in the issue to Choice Warranty Claims. A tech was assigned from ** and he came out on 6/26. My husband was there to greet him. My husband was first told by Mr. **, he would be the one coming out to our home. However, Mr. ** sent out another tech who he was familiar with. The tech diagnosed the issue with Mr. ** on the telephone guiding him. My husband paid our $45 fee and he was told the tech had sent the information over to the Warranty Company to get authorization to do the work. The tech spent about an hour on our premises. We was told we would be contacted once the company heard back from the Warranty Company concerning authorization. Unfortunately, it has been extremely hot and we have asthmatic individuals in the home. So, we decided to stay at a hotel while we waited for some answers. Well, "NO ANSWER!"

    I called back to the Warranty Company on 6/30 to see what was going on with the claim. I explain the situation to the rep and she stated she would follow up, there was NO Diagnosis noted in the system. On 7/1/15 I received call from Mr. ** who wanted to come back out to our home to re-diagnose the A/C. Mr. ** went on to explain he sent a tech out who he was familiar with and the tech went to 3 other homes and they all had the same diagnosis; low coolant. Mr. ** went on to explain, this diagnosis is not covered under the warranty. I let him know I wish I had known. We were not told that. I could have had the tech search for the leak and bring the levels of to par. However, we were not told that information. Mr. ** stated, "He felt each house being diagnosed the same was not right so, he wanted to come out himself to re-diagnose." I admit, I was extremely upset about this.

    We altered our plans on Friday for the tech to come out and we had been waiting for days to hear back from the tech regarding the warranty company approval or next steps in the process. In addition, the only reason Mr. ** called on this day was because the Warranty Company called him for a diagnosis!!! My husband was with the tech and he remembered verbatim what the tech said the problem was. Yes, the coolant was said to be low, but there was 2 other things going on with our units. In fact, I wrote down the issues we were told along with the make and model of the units because I was looking into pricing and a 2nd opinion if in fact, I had to come out of pocket for the A/C. Therefore, I was not understanding what the real problem was and why we are 5 days in and no relief and no parts ordered if need be.

    I voiced my opinion to Mr. ** as I feel as a customer, I have every right to because I believe in customer service and customer satisfaction and in this situation it felt as if we were being bamboozled, disregarded and if our situation simply don't matter. Mr. ** tone was as if he was doing us a favor and as I indicated to Mr. **, I choose the Warranty Company because I wanted professional work done in and on my property if need be. If I wanted a jack leg mechanic, I would have went to the streets and found one. Mr. ** acknowledged he should have done the work himself. He went on to say everyone have to feed their families so he was sharing the work. I do understand that, however when it comes to something of this nature and people's health and well being are involved, it's important for the professionalism to over ride the need spoken of.

    In fact, the statement sounds personal to me and I did not purchase this warranty to personal with anyone. I am about Business and this was the sole purpose for taking on this warranty so that professional work could be done in my home if need be. I understand the tech may have installed in others places outside of Mr. ** business, but I did not sign on for Joe Blow Technician, I signed on to have professional services rendered if need be.

    I let Mr. ** know, I would be calling back to the Warranty Company and he accused me of starting trouble. He also indicated, he felt the problem was I think I would have to pay another $45. I corrected him and I let him know I read my contract and I am aware of how the program works. Therefore, the $45 was never an issue as I realize the cost of replacing an A/C unit. I research everything and this situation was NO Different. My concern about the entire matter was getting my A/C fixed, however, when Mr. ** called on 6/30 I realized there was a problem going on within his business. A Red Flag went up for me and I felt somewhere along the line, he did not have confidence in the skill of the tech he sent to my home.

    Therefore, at this point I was greatly concerned and I had questions and a red flag regarding his professional services and I let him know that. He then went on to tell me to call the Warranty Company and he was coming back to my home to get his parts. I was not aware of any parts he left at or on my property. Therefore, at that time I let him know he was not welcomed at my home and he is not taking anything from off my property. Again, red flags went up as many individuals have been stealing the copper from A/C units. I then called my husband who confirmed his tech did not leave any parts in our units.

    Mr. ** texted my phone and asked, "do I want the tech to come back to complete the job." I had already put a call into Choice Warranty and I let him know at this time the Warranty Company will be following up with him and he or his associates are not welcomed on my property. I went on to let him know if he comes on my property this is called trespassing and my home is under surveillance and we will be paying close attention. I also let him know if he removes anything from my property, this is called stealing and I will prosecute. I went on to let him know this situation may not mean much to him, but to us we are dealing with life and death as Heat is a Serious Issue to us for Medical Reasons. Heat is a Health Hazard for us.

    I also went on to let him know Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction is very important when running a business. I also went on to let him know I run 3 businesses and I would never do my customers like this. I let him know I am about Good Business and Good Business Practices and it's my right to voice my opinion when I feel I am not being treated fairly, taken advantage of, being ignored or something is not lining up correctly. Mr. **, then texted my phone and stated the following, "I think you have way more to worry about how I run my business. Like how your husband trying to leave you. He telling me all this stuff about how bad you treat him you're just not a good person. Everything happens for a reason. Hope you get help with the air and yourself as well."

    Well where is the professionalism in these statements. I don't know Mr. **. He is not a friend of mine or my husband. I have only met him on the telephone and on a business level through Choice Warranty and he wants to throw a low blow at me because of his choice to send an inadequate and incompetent tech to my home based on his own acknowledgement and words to me to perform a service in my home and on my property. WOW!!! I find this to be totally unprofessional, insulting, derogatory, offensive, repulsive, slanderous, disrespectful and rude! Yes, it did cause a problem in my household and on one of the busiest days of my month, I could not shake this foolishness and it has caused so much drama.

    The problem is all I set out to do was get my A/C fixed. I did not know I was paying into the disruption of my household and the disruption of my marriage and to top it off, my husband didn't say any of this. And when he approached Mr. ** about this, this is the response I got via text from Mr. **, "Hey I'm sorry ok, hope I did not ruin your day, all I was trying to do was get your air fix. You said some stuff to me and I said back stuff to you. I'm sorry ok. Have a great day. I know you're a amazing person, don't let your anger control you. Take care." All I want to say at this point is DAMAGE DONE, MR. ** and CHOICE WARRANTY!!!! I did not sign on for a Therapist, Insulter, Business Wrecker and or a HOME WRECKER!!! I signed on for a Home Warranty with Choice Warranty!!!

    All this other stuff is out of control. All I wanted to do was get my Air Fixed!!! If in fact, someone was really trying to fix my A/C in a timely manner a diagnosis would have been entered promptly and parts if necessary would have been ordered and perhaps the work order could have been completed by the 5th day instead, we are still at GROUND LEVEL 0 with a Choice Warranty Authorized Technician causing grief in my Marriage!!! Marriage is Sacred and it has nothing to do with Warranty Business!!! We have already been lied to by the friend familiar tech who was sent out in Mr. **'s place. And now, Mr. ** the owner of ** is now telling lies on my husband. And I AM suppose to be HAPPY! I am not suppose to be upset. I guess I am suppose to grin and bare it at my own expense and health. And Yes, accept this as a Favor from **!!!

    Well, I beg to differ. Where I come from Customer Service is #1!!! Customer Service Matter! And if I have called out your business as being unprofessional, why are you mad with me when all of your actions says the exact same thing!!!! But I am suppose to be happy! HAPPY where, my mother died from an ASTHMA attack! So, No I AM NOT HAPPY at ALL and the only help I need at this POINT is my A/C fixed. This was my purpose for reaching out to Choice Warranty who sent in their Authorized Contractor **. This is NOT a Game, it's Life and I find Life to be Precious.

    I never ever expected this much DRAMA, CONFUSION, DISRESPECTFULNESS and CHAOS from so called PROFESSIONALS!! This is definitely unacceptable as a professional individual who does not do the professional work asked for, gets upset and attack a customer for the professional lack of doing and bring forth havoc in their personal life. This is totally unacceptable. Perhaps I would have done better by hiring Joe Blow on the STREET!!!!

    I am a Broker/Realtor at Keller Williams in the Woodlands. We have 450 plus agents in our office and sell a home warranty on ALL transactions. I personally bought Choice warranty last year since one of the realtors in my office thought they were a good company. THE WORST I EVER. I own 7 homes and these people pay for nothing. Our AC went out on my home. Choice warranty send out one of the AC companies they use. A few days later, I was notified that the item was not covered. The evaporator coil needed to be replaced and not covered; we spend $1800 to repair it ourself and paid for it. It has been about 1 month later and the compressor went out on the unit. We were told today, since the evaporator coil was leaking about a month ago before we replaced, they cannot pay for the compressor since it MOST LIKELY was caused by the evaporator coil.

    As I said, DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. VERY FRIENDLY ON THE PHONE BUT THEY WON'T HONOR YOUR CLAIM. I will turn them in to the Better Business Bureau and every review site I can find. No customer should ever be taken by companies like this one. I will start by mass emailing all the Realtors in the Greater Houston Community.

    After reading all the positive reviews, I decided to switch over to Choice Home Warranty. I spoke with a sales rep, outlined my current coverage, & added extra coverage for my pool. When it came time to get my pool repaired, they informed me I didn't have salt water pool coverage, which is extra, even though I was quoted for one, and I am paying extra for pool coverage. Apparently this is extra extra coverage. She then stated that it wouldn't cover the salt cell generator even if I had it. I would have to wait until next year. I was then transferred to a manager who informed me they don't even cover salt water pools, which is not what the sales reps will tell you. I called back to a sales rep just to see if I could get a quote with salt water pool coverage. He explained they do have it, it's extra. I am THANKFUL I can cancel this coverage and get a better company. Be REALLY careful if you have a salt water pool as you will get this run around like I did.

    Very short hold time when calling in for repair. Contractor info that was sent to my email was posted as soon as I got off the phone with the representative. I was very satisfied with that portion of the process. This was on a Saturday evening. I called the contractor and got their answering service who I gave the information to.     Another one of those cheap company, who attracts people with economical rates, however, you will end up not getting peace of mind at all. It is probably one of the worst insurance companies that I have to deal with, reflecting almost no care for customers. Totally unprofessional and always trying to find ways to decline your claim.

    I called up their technician to fix my A/C unit, which apparently was running low on Freon. He showed up, prepared his initial report and called them for authorization to continue with diagnosis. They told him that he should run leak detection test, however the best part is that they don't cover that test... What a bummer!!! Which means, a $220 out of pocket expense. Even if you would pay for it, at the end you are still at their mercy whether they will approve the claim or not, even if the leak is inside the coil (as was the case), where there is no way, someone could have gone in and caused that leak purposely.

    Someone should sue them. Definitely not recommend to anyone to do business with them!!

    I strongly recommend future people to not subscribe to the services of Choice Home Warranty. I just got done dealing with my first claim which was an evaporator coil on my AC unit. They claim they cover this however, their response is that my copper tubing is rusty and so won't be covered. This is after I brought in a 3rd party to review the repair. Their representative came out. Didn't even go into the attic to look at the unit. Just said it was a leak and I would have to pay him by the hour to find the leak through leak testing one line at a time. I brought in a 3rd party HVAC guy and he went into the attic and looked at the unit and said, "Well, the leak is right here! You need a new evaporator coil unit." I had to pay for that visit as well.

    This company is not honest and fair. They advertise they cover the evaporator coil and yet won't. After 30 days of battle I am trying to close my account for a refund but according to "terms and agreements" I will only get a small fraction of what I paid. Even though this is the first time they have done anything for me. While on hold (which happens often) the recording advertises that you should purchase their warranty since equipment in your house will get old and eventually fail. Choice Home Warranty is here for times like this. This message is what they advertise. Their service is completely false from what they advertise. I either want my $1000 back or my claim covered. This is ridiculous!

    We purchased a Choice Home Warranty with our pre-owned home believing that we would be covered for unforeseen issues. Our AC unit began to fail. That's when the reality of the warranty began to surface. The evaporator coil had a leak. After submitting all of the documentation, they denied our claim due to "poor maintenance." They said because rust was present, our claim would not be paid. The pictures showed that the coils were clean but frozen and wet due to the leak. What came first: the leak or the rust from the ice caused by the leak? It was a no win conversation.

    Additionally, every time I called, I was given a different story about what they needed to review my claim. Each person I talked to added requirements... we just need pics... we need pics and invoice for test... we need pics, invoice and we need to talk to the technician... you should have used one of our technicians (their technicians wanted $100 more than others). Every time I called it was a new story. As always, beware of the fine print and research the heck out of it. They tend to gloss over the details until there is a claim, then they will hit you with those details like a hammer to the head. Caveat emptor!
