I had a fine experience reporting my claim. Very pleasant and helpful people at Choice. A little disappointed they could not find a service person on Saturday and had to wait till Tuesday for an appointment, but I had already lost all contents of freezer and refrigerator anyway.

This was my first service call with Choice Home Warranty. I couldn't be happier. The appointment was made at my earliest convenience, the repair tech came at the appointed time, and the repair was done quickly and correctly. The tech was extremely professional. The property is a condo we own, and CHW certainly made being a landlord much easier. The tenant was also very pleased with the promptness of the service.

Great service. My air went out around 2am Sunday morning. I called Home Choice around 4-4:30am to report the claim. The claim was assigned and I received service within 15 minutes of talking with the technician. I thought excellent service and so fast. Because of my house design, the technician gave me several other pointers to keep my house even cooler.

This is the 2nd claim I've made in 3 years. The last one was NOT approved for coverage. I was very pleased that this claim was actually covered. The prices went smoothly and repairs were made as promised. I am considering renewing my contact next year now.

Sears was assigned to the repair. When service persona arrived the ignitor started working again. Two weeks later the ignitor stops working again. Sears called again to repair. Waiting now for a convenient date to meet service person. CHOICE is the best home warranty company I have ever worked with. I have worked with three other major companies in the last 12 years. By far CHOICE is the best. Their staff are polite and helpful. Online system seems to work well.

My air conditioner fan failed to turn one Sunday morning. Following troubleshooting instructions on an Youtube video, I suspected capacitor problem. Even though I could have gone myself all the way replacing it, that would take me a couple of hours and a trip to a store (and a chance that problem was not the capacitor after all). Paying flat service call fee is much more cost-effective option.

I had no air conditioning working, I only had the fan, that is my ceiling fans to try and keep cool. It did not take long for the tech to see my thermostat was not working. He was fast, thorough, mannerly, and a very pleasant young man. He also gave me suggestions on the right kind of filters to buy for the best results.

Our AC unit was not working properly so we contacted CHW late in the evening and by early next morning, we received a call from a repair shop. They promptly came out to fix our unit. The temp was 106 degrees. Thanks so much!!

Probably the hottest day of the year, and I was out of town. My friend called and told me that my air was out. I called, and the next day, Bennet came out and fixed it. No problem. I paid my minor deductible, and presto - air was back on.

My experience with CHW has always been a very positive one. From the person I spoke with before purchasing the plan to the representatives I have dealt with when filing a claim through posting feedback about my experience with vendors. The highest amount of courtesy and professionalism is evident in all CHW employees I have dealt with. Concerns are addressed immediately and with superior knowledge of the program. I highly recommend CHW.

I reported a bad AC. The person they sent was late - every time or did not show up at all. Did not do the repairs correctly the first time and Choice Home Warranty said the other repairs were not covered as they were secondary. When I pointed out the repairs were not done the first time and why was I not getting a refund, the liar at Choice Home Warranty changed her story to the first payment was "diagnostic." Pointing out if that were the case how could there be a secondary repair if the first one was only diagnostic, the liar went back to her script of this secondary repairs not being covered. Horrible and dishonest. Avoid this company.

This is the 3rd claim they deny to pay for, stating on the 3 claims that it's rust and corrosion. They use individual contractors that they tell them what to say and write. This is a very bad company, all positive reviews are wrong, probably written by them. Don't ever use them, they will take your money and never pay for any claim, trust me. I usually don't write reviews but this time, I have too. Don't trust them or use them ever...

We discovered our hot water heater leaking from a valve and also from an outlet on top of the water heater. We placed a call to Choice Home Warranty and within an hour the repairman had made contact with us to set up an appointment for later in the day. Even though the issue with our hot water heater is not covered by Choice, the repairman was very prompt and knowledgeable and made recommendations to us and notified Choice of his findings. The next day Choice contacted us to go over the findings and to let us know that this issue is not a covered situation. We were very pleased with repairman and customer service at Choice.

I called the Choice Home Warranty claims team in the early evening hours to report my air conditioner problem. In less than an half hour I received a response from a repair service company. An appointment was set up for the next morning and a fan motor was then diagnosed as the problem. By early afternoon the replacement was complete. Both Choice Warranty and the service company kept informed during the process by phone or email. I was very satisfied with the quick response and professional service I received.

I have used appliances so I considered a smart decision to get Choice Home Warranty. Unfortunately I did not do my Google research to realize that "Choice Home Warranty" and "SCAM" are words that come up very often right next to each other. In my case I have this oven that was working properly then around ten days after my Choice Home Warranty contract started the oven would not shut off even when pressing the OFF button. So I made my claim. A courteous technician came and inspected the oven and told me that the panel was malfunctioning.
The day after I get contacted by Choice Home Warranty and I am told that they cannot cover that because it is not possible for the panel to stop functioning during the 10 days that my contract started and that this is a problem that happened during contract BUT they don't believe it took 10 days to occur Which leads me to think why would you ever want to put extra repairs/parts warranty in your used appliances if they are always going to deny claims. I won't see this model working for the consumer unless you start your contract with brand new appliances which have very low failure rates already for which the retailer extra warranty might be a better choice.
Their business model seems to be: Attract as much people as possible and promise them everything. Then when they are in need you or service deny their claim because it doesn't fit the small print. As conclusion, do not get Choice Home Warranty if you have used appliances because they will claim that failures would have occurred before contract even when they haven't.

Plumbing line problem. Ajax Plumbing was out to fix it after just one day which was understandable. Since there were prior appointments already made. Came on the time they scheduled. Plumbing Tech was knowledgeable and friendly. Found my problem and fixed it at my property. Was happy with outcome. No other issues.

My dryer was not heating. I called Choice Home Warranty and within 1/2 hour heard from a technician. It was 6:30 in the evening but he was not far from my house, on his way home and said he would stop by and check out what was wrong. It took him 2 hours but he repaired it on the spot. He cleaned the vent and behind the dryer too. Very professional, clean and polite. A wonderful experience!

Every time I have called Choice for a problem they have set it up for repair at once. I have had them come out about 6 times and it has always been prompt. They even replaced my micro oven at no cost to me. I really like their service and has been a big help to me. Thanks Choice.

The company that came out to work on my air conditioning was excellent. They had to come out several times to finally find the problem but I was only charged the initial $45 fee from Choice Home Warranty. I have always been pleased with the service I have received from Choice Home Warranty.

Lou and Sons had come out and diagnosed my problem and let me know that the coils were dirty and needed cleaning. This was not covered under the warranty plan and I understood. I cleaned them and the freezer worked better afterwards, but not as before. I called Lou and Sons again and they did a follow up with me and Lou gave me more detailed effort on how to clean the coils more thoroughly. His thorough recheck, evaluation and advice was greatly appreciated and helpful!

The repair man arrived on time and was very professional. He presented his ID and business card before entering my home. He was polite. He was prepared and had all of the tools that he needed. He quickly identified the problem and shared it with me. He made the repairs and told me that if I have any further problem so, to please call him. He was very neat and cleaned up any trash made during the repair. He made sure that the air conditioner was working properly before leaving. He left me a receipt showing the repairs that he made. I was very pleased with him.

This is the worst experience I have had. They show as #1 in customer satisfaction in their website. I took a chance and bought a warranty for peace of mind. My first claim with an ac compressor going out was denied. The tech who came to my house checked the system and told me that the unit was well maintained and in good condition.
I talked to a few of my friends who mentioned they had the same experience with this co. AVOID it. BTW, do not call their claim "specialists." They are so rude on the phone that I had to hang up twice. I knew at that moment what I was getting into. They SELL you on their customer service and get your business. They told me you had a free 30-day trial and cancel for a full refund. You got it... another catch... they deduct $50 admin fee, do not honor the 30 days and give you a small amt back. What a shame we have to deal with such dishonest businesses. I am reporting them to the BBB. I have a few friends who will add to this as well. SO PLEASE READ THIS PRIOR TO talking to them. AVOID!!!

The technician came promptly to diagnose that the dishwasher can't be repaired. Upon which Choice promptly called back to give us a prorated cash option for the replacement of the unit. I think it was fair on the part of Choice to give us at least that option. Now I have the flexibility to buy the cheapest dishwasher brand new with very little contribution or buy an expensive one as I please. Keep it up folks.

Called Choice to have someone come out and fix my a/c unit, within three and a half hours my unit was fixed. They wasted no time and was very fast, this was a really hot day. In the past, with a different company it would take about 2 days if I was lucky! And they would always say they had to order the part. The company Choice sent out did not have the correct part with them but went and got it and still had everything fixed within 3 and a half hours from start to finish. I called to file a claim on July 10. After several emails a service technician cannot be located 18 days later. I was given a service company yesterday and called and they said they will not work with Choice because they have outstanding bills. I was sold a 3-year warranty for $1,050.00 and a plumber can't be located in my area.

I agreed to pay $100.00 for priority service plus required service fee for same day service. The repair shop delivered. They were at my home within 6 hours of initial call. I was happy and cool within 2 hours. No money is too much for air condition in Houston, Texas in July.

Mr **, Eagle Quality Plumbing, was on time. Well equipped and got right to work and cleared the blockage problem. Thoroughly tested the drain to ensure everything functioned as it should. We couldn't be more pleased. Choice Home Warranty was very responsive to our need and facilitated the contact from Eagle Quality Plumbing within hours of our call to them.

We called Choice Warranty late in the night. By the next morning they had a vendor waiting to fix our problem. The chosen heating and cooling company fixed our problem immediately. They were both professional and kind. All parts to fix our breakage was approved hassle free.

I had a warranty with another company for many years but they kept increasing their price every year so I decided to shop around. Am I glad I did! I got a much better rate with Choice and have just used their service for the first time. I called and spoke with an extremely polite, knowledgeable and helpful girl who immediately set up a service call to take care of my issue. She said the company would contact me within an hour to schedule an appointment (with the previous company, it was 4 hours). I had no sooner hung up the phone and they called! And then they had someone to my house within an hour! NOW THAT IS WHAT I CALL SERVICE! Plus, the first service call is FREE! It doesn't get better than that.

Air went out overnight. Called Choice. Set me up with repairman. I called to confirm appointment. Came same day. Got my air back on. Had to replace fan service. Technician Brad was courtesy and very quick getting replaced and my air back on. In matter of hours temp was 97 and 107 humidity. Scott and another young man came in and repaired the problem in a short time. I was surprised to see them because I had told the company that I could wait until the next day. I have referred Choice to several friends. I am extremely pleased with the service of the plumber and Choice.

This is the worst home warranty company I have ever had, and we have had home warranty coverage for 20 years. We have had them since March, and had a plumbing leak, as well as a hot water heater breakdown. For the plumbing leak, they denied the claim, and I was out the deductible of $60. I called their customer service line and argued with several people, and they admitted they denied the claim, and sent me a reimbursement check for $134. This was around $75 less than what it cost to get it repaired, as I now had to call another plumber on my own. After that, we had our hot water heater go out. Once again, the plumber came out, and the claim was denied. Apparently they don't cover hot water heaters, only the element. Once again, I have to pay the plumber $60 for the deductible, and the claim is denied. These people are a bunch of thieves.

I had a plumbing stoppage in my rental property. I called my Choice Home Warranty and they told me a technician would call me within an hour. They called me quickly and scheduled work for the next day. The technician showed up the next day as he promised and took care of the problem quickly. This is my first year with Choice and I will definitely renew!

This was our first service claim with CHW. Our air died on a 95 degree,103 heat factor, Saturday. We called and requested service. The provider did not return our phone call and VM stated they were open M-F. We called back and got permission to call another air company. They came out on Sunday and was fixed by the afternoon. We were offered a partial refund to our service bill. I was pleased with that. Most important was our air was fixed within 24 hours and not waiting until Monday to even set up an appointment.

My air conditioner just stopped working. The fan wouldn't even come on. It was the condenser. I received a call within a few hours of when I made my claim. He was so nice and tried so hard to get me in quickly. He was out within 30 hrs and he was amazing. My tech came in and had it diagnosed and fixed in no time. RIPOFF, Company of Thieves, Deceptive Crooks! I had Choice Home Warranty for eight months. Today I am cancelling the service losing my $ 470 for nothing. I would give them a minus review. I have called for two items both of them they refused stating exclusions and lack of maintenance. Please save your money and take a company that is registered with BBB, do not sign up with this company. You will be disappointed and wasting the money. I was deceived by the false ratings of this company, stay away from the thieves. These are deceptive crooks who do not know what is meant by customer service.
Basically, we have serviced our air conditioner per their specifications and when I had a problem, they refused to repair it. NEVER sign up with this company. If anyone willing to go forward for a class action lawsuit for these ripoff cheaters I am willing to join. Ripoff crooks! Beware of this one. Do not believe the sales promises. I use Choice Home Warranty for the first time on Tuesday. My air conditioning had stop work about 9pm that evening. I call Choice Home Warranty leery how they can help me that late in the evening. I spoke to their service representative who was very professional and caring, who took my information and said, "We will call you once your claim is process." All I could think to myself it's going to be a hot week or longer. All I could think of doing was getting my family together (three children, ages one to three) and staying with family. Be careful: Choice Home Warranty is a scam!!! They refuse to pay the companies that come out for the claims and they refuse to pay for the claim and offered us $300.00 for a $1300 washer that was less than 3 years old. When I got the plan it cost $1250 for 3 years. When I canceled the policy they prorated the plan to $59.00 per month of the 10 months we had the policy. The service fee on the dryer claim was $400.00 and they charged us that fee and an additional fee of $50.00. So for my $1250.00, I will receive back $200.00. WHAT A RACKET and I am not the only person taken to the cleaners.

First serviceman sent Wed. did not diagnose the problem and lied to you about what was wrong with our A/C. The back and forth calls getting our problem resolved was exhausting as for our A/C was out Wed. and until 5:00 PM Thurs. When the second serviceman was sent to us from Sheerkahn Services (Sub Contractor) who diagnosed the problem in one minute changed a Capacitor and everything works fine. Do not use Jamerds Engineering on any of your A/C jobs in the future.

On the evening of July 16th 2015 I submitted a request for a/c service online and received a claim #. Shortly before 8 am the next morning I received a call from CHW with instructions to call Family Heating & Air to set up an appointment for service. Before I could make that call I received a call from Family Heating & Air stating they would be at my home at 9 am. I met the serviceman at 9 am and he determined that the A/C was low on Freon. He and his assistant recharged the unit with the needed Freon, tightened a valve that was leaking, and made sure the unit was running to my satisfaction. The entire repair was completed quickly and efficiently. I am very pleased and will continue recommending CHW to family and friends.

If you have a tiny repair, you "might" be ok. But anything major, they will blame the issue on you and deny your claim. They say you should have maintained the product... as if you're a professional. No need for me to go into lengthy details, it's all been said about this scamming company and their horrible customer service reps/contracted repairmen 10,0000 times on these review boards. I warn you, they will find a way to deny any major claim and there's nothing you can do. Oh and the workers that arrive, always late, will add on fees that just happen to been missed ahead of time. I have used your services 3 times. For the first 2, excellent performance. This time, not as great. I was given the name of a company that later refused to come out due to some kind of conflict with you. By the 2nd company I was told they no longer service garage doors. Finally, the next day, I was given a company that ended up doing the repair. When the technician came, around 4.45 pm, he had to call in for authorization. Both he and I ended up trying to reach someone for at least an hour to no avail. He had to leave without being able to do the job. When I called the next day, the customer service rep. denied there had been a phone problem. The job eventually got done, but with a lot of hassle. But, as I said before, my previous experiences have been great, so I have high hopes of something like this not happening again.

I read some of the reviews on CHW and it looked like a good deal so I signed up. The next day I had more time and read more reviews and more information into their policy. I decided I did not want the policy so I emailed to have it cancelled. I received a phone call from Nathan who advised me they would offer me a free service call if I did not cancel. I told him I still wanted to cancel and he got very ugly with me, saying the weirdest stuff to try to get me to stay. Well two weeks have gone by and they processed the policy despite my wishes. I called to cancel again and they hung up on me. The third time I called they said they would cancel but asked what they could do to get me to stay. Um.... I cancelled my policy already. You processed it and charged my CC despite my wishes and you want me to "stay" with you?? Um no!

A/C went out on a Saturday. I reported on Monday (which is bad on me as could have done so on Saturday as 24/7 availability) and immediately received response from Choice Warranty. Repair tech came on Wednesday & found problem. It took another 7 days to finalize (I understand I was put at back of work as I had put window unit in to cool until repaired & they took others in front). Not really happy with the 7 days on A/C firm but work was good and professional. In any transaction, the real answer is would you do it again and I would take the Choice Warranty again so therefore recommend them. They did their part and paid as contracted. What more should anyone expect.

At the first part of the claim, I had an issue because the rep said my claim was pre-existing because I had only had coverage for a few days. I asked what the 30-day waiting policy was for and that obviously, the condition could not have been pre-existing at the time I took out the coverage, which was over 30 days prior to the claim. Choice was very responsive in setting up my repair call. The first company they set me up with called me and said they don't do my city. Choice got another company set up the next day after I called them. The only negative was the company that was recommended had very poor customer service. They never once called me, I had to call them and a simple repair that their own technician told me would take 1 day took about a week. Mind you we live in Dallas, TX and the temperature was over 100 degrees. My family was sleeping downstairs in the living room on the floor.
The name of the company is ACAR in Dallas Texas and I hope Choice never recommends them for me ever again.

We've had Choice Home Warranty insurance for about 3 years and have only used it twice. Once for a plumbing problem that they never resolved, we had to hire a plumber ourself to get it fixed as the tech they sent was an air conditioning tech that didn't even have tools for plumbing. He had to go and rent them from home depot and the other time was this week for an AC issue and this time they wouldn't cover the repair because they said we didn't have the unit serviced in the past even though we have. If you're thinking of getting home repair insurance I would look for another company. These people just take your money and don't fix anything.

The motor on my pool pump failed recently. Within hours of submitting my claim, I was contacted by a representative from the pool company assigned by CHW. The pool company sent a technician to diagnose the issue and it was determined that the pump motor would need to be replaced. My motor was an inefficient single speed motor which CHW was going to replace in accordance with the contract. After a brief discussion with CHW, I was approved to get the credit for my single speed pump motor to apply toward the installation of a more efficient pump. I was able to choose a more efficient and more reliable variable speed pump motor and only had to pay the difference between the two. Being able to choose a more reliable motor reduces cost for both me and CHW in the long run. Thanks for the outstanding service!

Superior Services provided a prompt, courteous and professional service when the blower motor failed and filled the house with smoke in the middle of the night. Andy arrived in mid morning, quickly diagnosed the problem, made the repairs, found additional problems for which he needed to secure replacement parts and returned later in the day to complete the repairs. Summer in Las Vegas, AC goes out Friday. Choice sends someone on Monday even though our father is elderly. Technicians go on the roof to determine the AC unit over-amped and burned a capacitor. They want to replace the whole unit. Choice denies the repair, saying it was due to lack of maintenance which isn't true, the units were maintained and cleaned last year. Don't bother with Choice Home Warranty, they will leave an elderly guy in the heat for 3 days and deny coverage to cover their bottom end. Typical scumbag company.
We cancelled them and will be notifying local news agencies about their shady business practices and notifying the BBB and everyone else we can think of. Thanks Choice for leaving an elderly veteran without AC for 3 days in the middle of a Vegas summer and weaseling out of a repair job to save your bottom end! Avoid Choice - if a big repair is needed, they will blatantly lie to avoid fulfilling their contractual obligations.

The first company Choice sent out to my house to work on AC, ISDan, banged on the AC for hours and tried to tell me just a part was bent, bent it back, and that worked for all of 3 days at which time the AC unit was completely stalled and non-operational. I'm a homeowner and have two other rental properties that are also covered with Choice Home Warranty. This is my first claim with Choice as the A/C unit stop to blow out cool air. I called the CHW and they did sent a technician after three days to diagnose the issue. Technician told the compressor is gone and needs to be replaced. Technician was professional enough to answer my questions and seems to be a real nice person.
I have been following for the past three days with CHW and every time I call the representative says Claims Supervisor will call and no one returns the call. Yesterday when called a customer service supervisor offered to pay $400 to cover up the cost in lieu of fixing the problem. The cost to replace a A/C condenser with labor runs about $3500 (5 ton with heat pump) and up so don't know what is CHW thinking about offering to the customer which won't even pay for the labor.
The customer service supervisor (Mark) told the I'll be getting a call from Claims supervisor before the end of the day which never happened. This is Texas and the temperature is already in the three digit numbers. At this time I'm canceling and getting the refund on all of my three policies. CHW is the worst home warranty company that I have dealt with. Now I know the real reason as why their premiums are low compared to the industry standards as they just don't want to pay. Moreover others who I talked to have the same opinion about CHW. I'll be getting my refund as I can't wait any longer.

I was very pleased with the service I got and billing service that you took over for us. It was very appreciated since we are on a limited in now. It turns out our DW is worse off than we were aware of. Thank you very much. Our DW needs part ordered and we are waiting on that to finish up repairs. Our funds are limited.
