Woke up Sunday morning and a/c was blowing warm air. Turned off, waited a couple hours, turned on, a/c blew more warm air. Contacted Choice Home Warranty and was assigned to Artic Heating, Air and Plumbing. They came out on Monday morning, diagnosed the problem and took care of me completely. I was very pleased with the promptness of service. I am now very cool. Thanks a lot!

The part needed to repair the icemaker wasn't in the city and wouldn't be here until the next day. The repairman called and re-scheduled the installation then. It also was an upgraded part I paid extra cost for.

I scheduled an appointment with Phil at PC Electrical for Sat Aug 8, 2015 for about 4pm. He called to confirm, came to my house and inspected the ceiling fan in my bedroom which was not working. We went to Home Depot together to choose a new one. As he was assembling it, he noticed the screws were missing from the box so off to Home Depot he goes without muttering a negative word. Returns, puts up my beautiful ceiling fan, tests the voltage in several outlets and replaces one switch that was not working in the kitchen. It was a very pleasant service call and Phil was absolutely wonderful and very professional. I highly recommend PC Electrical Services to everyone.

I was told that technician would be in my house between 1 & 2 PM on 8/11/15. He showed up at 3:15 PM after I called at least twice. Once he came, he resolved the problem in a professional manner.

I called to buy a contract on Jun 10th, contract doesn't actually start until July 10th. My sales rep told me that I'd be covered for all the items listed if they break after July 10th. My AC breaks in early August, the claims depart denies the request saying that the wear and tear happened prior to contract start date. Worst part, I specifically asked the sales rep whether an old system would be covered. My AC is at least 10 years old, of course there's going to be wear and tear. That's why I buy home warranty. So anything older than your contract start date is liable not to get covered. Furthermore, it's extremely hard to get them on the phone. They email you that they need to speak to you, but don't give you a direct line. I call and wait 30 minutes with the technician standing next to me. Worst experience ever.

Expert cooling was assigned. They came out same day and replaced condenser fan right then. No fuss no muss. Last time, another property had same problem. It took 5 service calls to get fixed by R&D cooling. Thank you for new technician.

This was the fastest turn around time I have ever experienced. Best Way Heating & Air provided service the same day I placed my claim with Choice Home Warranty. The technician was very knowledgeable, provided great customer service and fix the problem fast. It's too hot in Texas to go without air conditioning!

The repairman arrived and checked the leak under the sink, determined the leak was the garbage disposal itself and replaced it. He collected the fee and was gone in 60 min. He did an excellent job and wasted no time.

Suddenly our house air conditioner stopped cooling function. CHW contacted CAT Mechanical in our area. CAT Mechanical technician could not come on the day of the call but came the following day. He fixed the problem to our satisfaction and his performance was exceptionally good. I would use this service and this mechanic (Robert) anytime in future if needed because of their professional attitude. Thanks for recommending CAT Mechanical.

I purchased this home warranty in December 2014. I have called in three times. 1) My ac unit broke. The technician came out. Called back to Choice saying the part was under warranty. Choice said since the part was under warranty they would not pay for the repairs. 2) Wash room stop up. The plumber want more than $60 being offered by Choice so they didn't pay for the repair and today I call about both downstairs toilet trying to backup. The plumbers could not find the clean out to open the lines in both bathrooms so they reported they had to pull up a commode and snake from there.
As usual Choice called and when I returned the call they said they would not pay to have the commode taken up so they would not be able to pay for the repair. The plumber said he could do the repair but he would need approx. $400 to pull up and replace the commode and to snake the lines. WHY did I pay $395 for a year of coverage and have to pay for everything myself as well as always having to pay a $45 service charge to the choice technician that never makes the repairs. This company is a total rip-off. I want my $395 plus by service fee back.

The plumbers that you sent out was courteous and went over and above to do a great job. The man made sure to check everything. He double checked to make sure that the line was clear when he left. I have used other warranty companies and Choice is the absolute best. No question.

I was really very satisfied with the way Home Warranty handled my claim. The clogged bathroom problem was resolved within a week. They also followed up to make sure it was taken care of. The problem I had was that the contractor that was sent to me was very rude and very unsympathetic. Otherwise, very impressed.

The temperature on the first floor was high, stay above 80°C regardless the setting. I was NOT so happy with Choice before because I my last-time experience ended that it was complicated and I used my electrician to fix the electrical problem. However, I am very happy with Choice this time. I was connected in less than 5 min and the lady in Choice Home Warranty was very professional when I called. The service company called in less than 1 hr and scheduled a very reasonable time for service. This time my problem has been solved without headache at all. If I have the same good experiences in the future, I will ask the Choice to cover multiple houses.

I called Choice Home Warranty on Friday morning and they scheduled a service contractor for Saturday between 9 am-1 pm. The confirmation email was quick and accurate. I placed a confirmation call with the contractor immediately and they had confirmed the appointment time and information. However Saturday morning approximately 10 am the contractor called to cancel and reschedule until Monday. This presented a huge problem with my work schedule and a hot house with small kids running around. I placed a call with Customer Service and she was extremely professional and understanding and placed me on hold for a few minutes and found a technician who could come out the same day. After speaking with the new contractor and confirming time frame I was still a little skeptical. As the appointment time approached I placed a ("are you still coming?" call) and was told he was running late but would be there if it took him all night.
The technician showed up and knew exactly what the problem was after receiving order description from Choice. The issue was fixed under 5 mins and all questions were answered much to our satisfaction. We were extremely happy with the easy online claim process and all the email confirmation before and after services were performed. We have heard plenty of horror stories about Warranty Companies, it was truly a delight to have this company perform as we expected this time. Also thank you to MIRA HOME REPAIRS who fixed the Heat Pump in the dark.

Choice was very upfront in the things that they could do. I thought they made a fair settlement of my issue. The microwave was older and the part needed was no longer being offered. They covered the labor and the cost of the part. It was recommended that I use the funds to purchase another unit. I thought this was a fair settlement.

I recently changed Warranty Companies to Choice Home Warranty and had them come out to look at my washer. The customer service on the phone was very helpful and knowledgeable and they were ready to send someone out the very next day! The Service Tech called me within hours of my call to CHW and was very nice and worked with my schedule. On the day of service, the Tech called me ahead of time to confirm the time and showed up on time, professional and courteous. My washer was fixed within 30 minutes! The entire process was easy and smooth! I have already recommended CHW to family and friends!

I have had Choice Home Warranty for over 2 years now. I came over to them from a competitor who I had been with for 8 years. The experiences I have had with Choice Home Warranty have been 5 star all the way - excellent service, along with what appears to be the best contractors/technicians to do the repairs on whatever the system failure may be. Totally no hassle. I can rest assured that if a covered item should fail, Choice Home Warranty has my back.
I highly recommend them to anyone that is shopping around for a home warranty, or like me someone that was fed up with my previous provider and needs to change. I would never recommend any product or service if I was not totally satisfied. I know what I went through with one home warranty company that will promise you the moon until you need them. Choice Home Warranty has been there for me on several occasions when I had a failure of a covered item, and as promised it was taken care of quickly and professionally. I have their premium coverage that covers most everything in your home, and the monthly cost is much cheaper than the competitors that you never knew what they would cover, and I don't think they knew either.

Once I put in the service call I was sent an order # and a phone number to schedule a technician. They called me the next day. We scheduled an appointment that accommodated my availability. They came out, identified the issue, fixed right away. They were very professional and polite. I would recommend Choice to anyone. Everyone involved was excellent.

I bought my home one year ago and it came with a one year warranty with Choice Home Warranty. My home was 25 years old when I bought it but it came with a one year warranty to cover any major appliances, including air conditioning, water heater, etc. so I felt confident. Also, this home had been well taken care of, it was updated and very well maintained. However, the following year, this past July 2015, I had a couple of problems with my a/c unit not working properly so I followed the warranty recommendations and had a licensed air conditioning company in my area come out to check and repair any problems I was having with it.
I had the drain line cleaned and water vacuumed out of the overflow pan, the Freon level checked and it did not need any Freon, I had a fan blade on the outside unit replaced because it cracked and broke off, (normal maintenance I thought) but after speaking with the Claims Department at Choice Home Warranty, they stated that they were not able to authorize payment to repair my outside unit because it was not properly maintained. Again, I reminded them I bought the house last year (2014). I was told that if the ac unit was properly maintained (I guess the last 24 years) that the unit would not be in the condition that it was in and they only cover expenses for normal wear and tear. I'm sorry but this is unfair and sounds like a scam to me.
I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone and am sorry that I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with them. Unless, you have a "brand new house" and have "every major appliance in your home maintained every year", and have all the proper paperwork necessary to show proof of said maintenance, don't even consider a home warranty with this company.

I was happy with the customer service at Choice Home Warranty but was not happy with the technician that came out to my house. He was late and didn't call until after the time to arrive had passed. He also didn't speak very well English and was very hard to understand. When I called Customer Service they were apologetic and assured me that it would not happen again.

Overall, I've been quite pleased with my CHW. I've been a customer for two months and the customer service has been stellar thus far. It's very easy to make a claim either online or via phone. The contractors are very responsive and often times you can get scheduled for service within 48 hours. I would certainly recommend CHW to friends and family alike. One area that could be improved is the collection of the service fee. Since I have the warranty on a rental property it's difficult to pay the technician upon arrival as I am not in the local area. There should be a pay by credit card method.

My air conditioner unit decided to give up on a very hot night in July. I opened a claim online and it was assigned to a contractor by the morning. I decided to employ the contractor that has been servicing my systems for a long time and this option is very important to me - to be able to use the established contractors rather than random ones. It worked very well and promptly - the contractor came next morning, we got the authorization, repair was done, I paid to the contractor and submitted paperwork for the reimbursement. There was a strange case of my paperwork not received multiple times either through email or fax but eventually it was received and is being processed. So besides the paperwork miscommunication and sometimes too long hold time for authorizations (especially when contractor is very busty and can't wait for long time) I would rate the service, quality, promptness and value quite high and would recommend CHW.

Our AC went out in 100 degree heat. The CHW contractor contacted us within an hour, scheduled an appointment and our AC was restored in less than 24 hours! We called when our AC system broke and called to schedule for a repair. The failure was diagnosed correctly and repaired with the right part, but the estimate given for when the repairman would show up was off by 4-1/2 hours. Then after the repairman troubleshot the system, he was unable to find the part locally since all the shops where he buys parts were closed or closing or didn't have the part. The main board in the blower system had failed. He had to have it shipped in from Houston. With temperatures above 100 F we could not stay in our house that evening. We had to go to a hotel as well as take our pet to the vet for boarding. It was 6 P.M. the next day before we were back in our house with a working AC system.
Mark the repairman was great. He was able to diagnose and repair our AC system the first time. But it took too long to have the repairman show up and get the problem fixed. Plus we spent additional money on a hotel, boarding for our pet, and food while we were away on top of the $60 fee. We feel Choice should cover for the additional expenses when they occur.

Choice handled my service request by phone - very friendly. The a/c serviceman contacted me within the hour to set up a time. He arrived on time, found and fixed the problem (broken thermostat) quickly. I was able to use Chase QuickPay to pay the $45 service fee. The whole experience was quick, professional, and the Choice agent and the serviceman were very polite and helpful. My only disappointment is that my programmable thermostat was replaced with an inferior basic model. I'm going to have to pay to replace it with a more efficient model.

My wife came home at 4:00 PM to find it was 84 degrees inside our house and the AC unit was not cooling. I was at work without any of my warranty information from CHW available. Being able to report the issue online was absolutely fantastic and reduced the time to get a service technician to my home. JG Heating and Air Conditioning was assigned to my claim, indicated he would be at my home at 7:00 PM (3 hours after we discovered the issue) and arrived on time (actually a few minutes early). He had the problem identified and repaired within 15 minutes and was on his way in less than 30 minutes. The experience was fantastic considering most AC repair technicians in Texas are covered up right now and one of them I called (they installed our unit and had been servicing it previously) could not even come out until the end of August.

Contacted Choice at 7 pm about a hot water heater problem. They gave me a claim number and the name of a company that would provide the service. The next morning I was contacted early by the service company and was told a person would be out very soon to troubleshoot the problem. The tech arrived, determined the problem, took the info, and said they would get back to us. A couple of hours later, after some back and forth conversation between Choice, service company and us, another tech showed up with a replacement heater. By 2:30 pm we had the new heater installed, waited for the water to heat up. The service company called us back to make sure that all was ok. So far, this has been the best ever home warranty experience. This is the third company we have had and hopefully the last. They are getting a 4 star rating because I never give anyone a perfect score.

Today, Choice Home Warranty (Ray ID # **) denied a warranty claim on my air conditioner. Despite, the on-site technician telling them the compressor went out due to age, they denied coverage saying that the unit wasn't maintained and that air flow was restricted. This company definitely looks for any possible reason to deny the coverage that is promised and does not listen to their contracted technicians that they send out. Would not recommend that anyone choose this company for home warranty protection.

I am very happy with the service I received from Choice. This is my first experience with this company. I left a company that I had been with over 15 years over poor service. I put in a claim to Choice and it was completed in two days. Had I been available, it would have been completed in one day. Was having issues with my A/C unit. I called first thing in the morning to turn in my claim. By 4:30 pm the same day, I already had a tech at my home and my issue quickly resolved. By 5:00 pm I was well on my way to being cool.

My a/c was not cooling and it was making noise. So, I called and received a prompt response that my job has been assigned to a technician. I was promptly contacted by Tracy A/C (the assigned contractor) and they gave me a date. Because of high service call volume in summer months they told me that they cannot give me a specific time, but promised me that if I give them a time range then they will be there. They kept their time and did the necessary to fix the issue. The technicians were very knowledgeable and professional. I am very glad with your handling of the claim.

That was the first time I used this warranty and I was very happy to see how easy the process was to see through. I tried this company even after reading some bad reviews, thinking you can't please everyone, right? Well let me tell you that the bad reviews are probably right. They were in my case. I purchased the policy on 7/3/15 (Account # **) and it was a promotion for 13 months for the price of 12. I was told there was a waiting period of 30 days before the policy would go into effect, I think that this is pretty standard but so much for 13-month policy.
So then after the 30 days passed and the policy was supposed to be live, the fan in my A/C unit outside fails. It was 2 days into the effective period of the policy. I made a claim (Claim #: **) and they denied it saying the issue was PRE-existing (who would pay 400 or so dollars for a warranty and wait over a month to have their AC fixed when the cost to repair from an HVAC shop is the same cost). I called them up and they stuck to this decision and I canceled the policy on the spot. So anyone contemplating the purchase of a warranty with this company I would strongly suggest that you not waste your time and hard earned money; they will most likely find some reason to deny your claims.

I had a problem with my ice maker. It worked sporadically then quit. The technician adjusted the ice maker but it worked for two days and then quit working. Choice ordered a brand new ice maker and I now have ice! Choice is very responsive and the technicians are totally professional!

CHW was excellent. They immediately assigned a contractor. The man and assistant from JR air came the next day. However they left us with a non functional system. It has been ranging up to 82 at 11 PM in the house. Needless to say we could not wait and had to contact another AC company who came out, diagnosed the problem for another 88.50 over my deductible of 45 paid to to the original company. Found out there was a hole in the condenser, we are having replaced tomorrow. Sad but true. CHW ended up not being so great. I have recommended them to many of my friends.

Our Central Air went out. I called Choice Home Warranty and they called All Comfort Mechanical to schedule the appointment. The service tech came out, fixed the problem. I had a water leak in my pool pump. I contacted CHW and they put me in touch with Jim ** at Pinnacle Pools Services & Repairs. Jim came to my house the next day, looked at my pool equipment and recommended the necessary repairs. Jim called CHW to get authorization for the repairs and my claim was approved. Jim did an excellent job repairing my pool equipment and my pump runs better than ever. Best of all, I only paid a $45 service fee for parts and labor. I would recommend CHW and Pinnacle Pools to everyone!

I called for a service technician to come out and repair and look at my washer. The first technician dispatched never showed up, he resigned from his job without telling Choice on the day he was supposed to come to my house. Then the second technician was located in Katy, Texas, really too far from my house, and they could not come out to service my washer at any time that was convenient for me, after I got off work. But on the third service call to Choice, the service technician dispatched came out from JB Services in Houston, TX, and he diagnosed the problem and fixed my washer probably within 30 minutes and it's running great. The third technician was super nice and knowledgeable and I would love for him to come back and repair anything else that May need service in the near future.

I responded to an online advertisement that offered one month free and one free roof repair at sign up. I gave my contact information and received a call right away. I told the sales person that I needed to wait a few weeks before I could sign up, because that is when I start getting paid. As I was starting to inquire about the roof repair, the gentleman cut me off in mid-sentence to ask if I needed to wait to sign up. I reiterated that I did need to wait. He quickly said to call back in a month and hung up. I expect to be treated politely and have my questions answered so I can make an informed decision. That experience has lost Choice Home Warranty a customer.

We were the unhappy customer of Choice and frustrated with the service contractors. For example, when you file a claim, Choice responds good and says "Please schedule appointment with assigned technician." So far, we are happy. The real nightmare starts after this. For example, your a/c went down and you filed the claim, the service contractors and Choice DON'T care our situation and simply they give appointment after 3 to 7 days and we are stuck and need to go with another local heating and cooling. Same issue for plumbing. We waited 2 weeks and finally we did fix our self. Most of the time, they will NOT authorize your claim and for example, simply says "You didn't change a/c filter and so we deny the claim." Please be more careful before buying the home warranty. We suffered a lot.

BEWARE OF THIS DISHONEST COMPANY. I have home warranty with Choice Home Warranty Contract #** and recently filed a claim #** for my air conditioner (Make: Bryant, MODEL : 561CJ042-A) when it stopped working. The company sent the technician who diagnosed that the compressor had failed due to the reason "shorted to ground". Normal life time of this A/C is about 12-15 years as per the technician and this A/C has been running for almost 19 years which reflects the maintenance I do about the appliance.
But Choice Home Warranty (CHW) is denying the claim saying that the unit is not properly maintained and invoked some fine print saying that it failed due to rust and corrosion which is not at all mentioned by the technician who attended the unit. And now CHW is trying to buy me off with a cash offer of $500 in place of $2500 worth A/C Unit. I see that CHW has denied claims like this multiple times for various customers with the same reason and I see a pattern of malpractice.
Please note that this company is engaged in just providing some repair work but does not really replace any broken appliances. It always finds some reason to deny the claim when a unit needs to be replaced. So it not exactly a home warranty company but charges premium like one. Heard from some of the contractors that CHW advises them to change their report to suit the requirement of the company so that it can deny the claim. I see the CHW is already penalised by NJ, Division of consumer affairs and has been advised to change its business practice. Inspite of that and more than 1000 complaints in BBB and bad reviews in multple sites, CHW is continuing with its malpractice. Please beware and research yourself well before wasting your hard earned money on this fraudulent company.

The coverage front page states that Water Heater is covered.... As our water heater developed a leak we were told that everything is covered but not the container which houses the components that make up a water heater. Hence the entire water heater need is not covered - this is pure misrepresentation and something that consumers need to be aware. Hiding behind fine print while stating on the cover page that Water Heaters are covered is not correct. I also propose to share this with the Texas Attorney as misrepresentation. The company has been non-responsive and essentially stated that they will do nothing to replace the Water Heater and not cover anything - not installation and not the water heater.

Sept 2014- After having AHS for a number of years, I decided to research and look into other home warranties. After speaking to a sales rep, he offered me a great deal for my primary home ($375). We discussed me also adding my rental property but I was only looking for a warranty for my primary residence. He then offered me a reduced rate of $249.99 each a year if I were to add both properties and possibly my mom's house as well. I couldn't pass this deal up so I signed both properties up and allowed them to automatically withdraw the money from my account. October 2014 - another $250 was removed from my account and I thought everything was done.
June 2015 - a billing rep called me regarding a $250 remaining balance on my account. I was confused and inquired further. He had zero knowledge on the balance other than they attempted to charge my card but the card was invalid. I explained to him that I had to get a new debit card a few months prior. He tried to transfer me to a customer service rep. We waited on hold for 10 mins and he told me that he would have someone contact me. No one ever called back and I honestly thought the issue was resolved because as far as I knew, I paid the $500 that was required.
July 31, 2015 - my air condition went out so I called Choice. I was told that I had a balance of $250 and until that was paid, I couldn't use the service. I explained to the rep my situation and she agreed that something wasn't right because she showed that they didn't attempt to charge my card again until 2015 but it was unsuccessful. She explained that she would have someone call me first thing Monday from the billing department so they could help me get the issue resolved. Monday morning I waited until almost noon but no one ever called me so I called customer service. After explaining to a rep my situation, she transferred me to a manager stating there was nothing she could do because she showed that each account was $375. I started to figure out that I was apparently lied to by the sales rep but what's baffling is that they didn't try to charge my card again until 2015 which was extremely suspect.
Anyway, the rudest manager ever gets on the phone and explains that I understood the sales rep wrong and there is no way a sales rep gave me a deal like that. He acted as if I was trying to get over on the company. I explained to him that I paid $500 so why would I not pay $250. He continued to yell which was weird because I was very calm with him. I asked him to bring it down a few notches. He agreed that I wasn't yelling at him and he calmed down briefly. He explained again that I had not paid the balance in full and I was lucky that he didn't send me to collections. Collections?? I had never used the service and up until that point, I didn't even know about the $250. He claimed they had been trying to charge my card since 2014 which isn't what the previous rep told me. My card didn't change until 2015 so there is no reason why that money couldn't have been drafted before the card got changed. There was no resolve with that manager.
I am actually shocked that he is a manager because of how bad I was talked to. This guy actually hung up on me. I called back and was transferred to an escalation manager. At this point, I had talked to 5 different people and was very frustrated at how this company treated their customers. Anyway, she read the notes on the account and then starts telling me there is nothing she can do without asking me any questions. What type of customer service training do these people have?!?!?!? I explained to her that I just some type of resolution with this because I was lied to by a sales rep and paid $500 for a service that I have gotten no benefit from. I asked for a refund of my $500 because according to the first manager, my contract was never complete because I have a $250 balance. I explained that essentially one of the accounts was paid in full since they are saying each account was $375 and I paid $500.
She placed me on a 15 minute hold and came back and said there is nothing she can do. I couldn't get a refund because it's almost a year later. I explained to her, I never used the service and didn't know there was an issue until now. She also explained that because of how I was billed, neither of the properties was paid in full. Again, she explained that it didn't work like that. I told her it was my fault how they had the billing setup and could $375 of the $500 I have paid be applied to one of the properties and she told me no.
She then proceeded to wrap up the call. I told her it wasn't fair that they just get to keep my $500 and I get absolutely nothing out the deal. I was never contacted until almost a year later. She was like, "ok ma'am have a nice day." I told her I was a single mom of 2 and that I couldn't afford to just eat a $500 fee. She could have cared less. I find it hard to believes that the executives of this company would appreciate customers being treated so badly. Again, I was hung up on. I have never experienced such rudeness from a company before.

When I arrive in Georgia last Thursday, immediately I notice the floor was wet on the utility room. There was a leaking on the pipe coming from outside. Immediately called CHOICE. This is a letter to notify the corporate office of the business practices of this company. I recently purchased this home on May 15, 2015. I had an appropriate and thorough inspection of my property prior to purchase as is standard procedure. Approximately one month after moving in, one of my air conditioning units stopped cooling. The first claim regarding this unit was placed on July 19, 2015 (Claim # **). At that time, the unit would only cool this space to 82 degrees when set at 75 degrees. An air conditioner repair contractor was sent out (JC Contractors). When he came out, I had turned the unit off after I realized that it was just running and running and when he arrived, it was 98 degrees in the space. He said that he couldn't do a true diagnostic on it because of how hot it was. So he instructed me to turn the unit on and let it cool for the next two days then he would return.
He requested that I put in another claim with Choice Home Warranty to get him out again to check on it. I did this on July 24, 2015 and the same guy returned to check on the unit. At that time, he stated that the reason why the unit wasn't cooling is that the evaporator coils were dirty. He recommended that they be cleaned. Therefore, I hired a company (Collin Creek Duct Cleaning) to come out and clean all of my AC unit evaporator coils and condenser coils. They came out on July 30, 2015 and cleaned the evaporator and condenser coils. (Of note, the duct cleaning workers stated that they clean air conditioners daily and that the unit of concern wasn't very dirty at all and looked like it had been cleaned relatively recently. They took pictures of the evaporator coils before and after cleaning for their records.)
After they had been cleaned, the space was still not cooling lower than around 85 degrees. I placed another claim, as instructed, for him to return (Claim #**). He returned and his final conclusion was that based on the information he obtained from the unit that the valves were weak. He suggested that the condenser unit be replaced. He stood right by me as he made the call to Choice Home Warranty Authorizations department. He told them all of the information he received from his instrumentation regarding the valves on the condenser unit. The representative told him that he would speak to his supervisor and call me back. He did so within about 15 minutes. When I returned the call, I was told that CHW was denying the claim due to a maintenance issue with the blades on the condenser unit.
I believe you already know why I am frustrated. The contractor who was at my house did not state that any issue with the condenser blades was the cause of the unit not cooling. He was very specific to say that the issue was with the valves. I stated this to the claims representative, Arkim, when I spoke with him. He stated that this is the information they received and that there is nothing that can be done. Interestingly enough, this isn't the first time I have heard that from Mr. Arkim. I have spoken to him at least three times before when I called regarding these claims.
I was told before that a small request I had could only be managed by a sales manager and that I could not speak with a sales manager because I'm already a customer and current customers are only allowed to speak with customer service representatives. I subsequently called back and pressed 1 for sales and was quickly transferred to Aaron ** (a sales manager), who quickly and promptly handled my concern. He was apologetic that I had received such incorrect and rude information.
Prior to purchasing this home, I did my research on home warranty companies because I had American Home Shield with my prior home and their service was terrible. I went to the internet to search out home warranty companies that had better ratings from customers. Although I had never heard of Choice Home Warranty, the information I found on google was positive. That is the reason why I chose Choice Home Warranty to be included in my closing agreement. This is exactly not my experience with Choice Home Warranty. From the first time I contacted the company regarding my policy nearly everyone I have spoken with has been less than helpful and some of them have even been rude.
After speaking with Aaron ** a couple of weeks ago he discussed with me the benefit of purchasing a longer warranty with Choice as this could lower my overall cost of the warranty. He offered a $3000 package, which included coverage of everything I have currently for the next 6 years (five years covered with one year free). I decided to purchase this upgrade to my current policy. I felt that as long as Choice Home Warranty was committed to adequately and honestly maintain the function of my major appliances and hardware in this house for six years, that was probably a great deal. He also decreased my trip charges to $45 per trip, which was also helpful.
Of note, I purchased this upgrade of my warranty contract in the midst of this issue with my air conditioning unit, continuing to bank on the information I received when I researched for a good home warranty company. My thoughts were surely they will handle this problem, since the unit functioned properly up until about two days before my initial claim was placed. On the heels of this large purchase to be covered by a company, which I thought would provide effective service, I have out-right lied to by the information translated from the contractor to the authorization representative. There is absolutely no reason why I should pay CHW $3000 to fabricate reasons why you cannot cover the repairs that are clearly stated in the warranty contract.
This is the final straw for me with home warranty companies. It seems that none are honest and none seek to truly abide by the contracts they establish. It is infuriating to read on the front page of your website Never Pay for Covered Home Repairs Again only to be told that this covered home repair is not being covered due to information that was fabricated by the authorization department. Are the authorizations representatives incentivized based on the number of claims they deny?
I am so glad that I was standing there listening to every word that contractor said to the authorizations representative. The contractor explained EVERYTHING to me as he diagnosed the problem of my air conditioning unit. He drew diagrams to explain how each part worked that wasnt working properly. If I had not been in the room standing next to him, I would have never known that the information the authorizations department communicated to the claims department was never actually stated to be the problem.
Customers need to know this about CHW. It is the most dishonest business practices I have ever encountered in my life. I believe in social media and I believe that the younger generations listen to the complaints of others. That is the reason why such companies as Angie's List are thriving. We want to hear when others have problems so that we know to stay clear.
I expect to be contacted by someone other than Mr. Arkim concerning this issue within the week. I would also request to speak with someone who can actually fix this problem. If that is not possible, please cancel my entire policy and refund the remainder of the $3000, which was not used (since I have only officially had this policy for about two months now). I can easily use that money to pay for or pay towards the repair of my air conditioning unit. I just don't feel that this company is honest and I feel that if necessary, reasons are created to not perform the appropriate repairs.

It took several days for me to schedule and get a service company out but I received updates and phone calls from Choice regarding my request on a regular basis. The service company was very professional and resolved my issue within a reasonable time frame. I'm pleased with the repair and response time and for the cost of the package I would highly recommend Choice Home Warranty.

I would recommend Choice Home Warranty any day! It is easy to submit a claim. They are just as quick about the claim online as they are if you phone the issue in. This is the first company that is punctual with online submissions! Once the claim is submitted, the responses are very fast and work has been done immediately. I love the peace of mind that comes with the purchase of a home warranty for my own residence and for our rental.

I have some very fussy renters who weren't as much fun to deal with as I wished. I purchased a home warranty for their house - and there was a misc. laundry list of electrical issues. AC wasn't cooling and it was one of our hottest summer days. Got a quick answer when I called to report it then got a quick response from the repairman to set appointment. He came in a very reasonable time, made the necessary repairs and was on his way. I was/am very satisfied.

The technician applied Freon to system, now it is blowing cold air, good! He told the renter if was low again, they will need to check the system for leaks. Right now all is working as it is suppose to, he said the people was very nice and had lots of knowledge on what they were doing. Thank you.

When I first called in my request it was handled in a timely and professional way by a courteous person on the phone. And when the tech. called to verify an appointment time it was done rather quickly and the problem was resolved on his 2nd premise visit due to the fact after trouble shooting the problem he had to bring back the necessary parts the next day to complete the job.

I had several toilet that kept on running as well as a slow draining vegetable sink, all which were driving me crazy. I contacted Choice Home Warranty and an authorized CHW service technician, Reggie the Plumber, was dispatched to my home. Reggie resolved all my issue in short order. I was pleased, to say the least. I switched to CHW from another home warranty company because of service issues and the high service call fee. I'm glad I did.

Air conditioner stopped working. Called CHW to get it fixed (outside temps in the 90's plus high humidity). Next day technician came and repaired in about 1/2 hour. Charge was $45.00 as agreed with CHW. Still working great.

I have used primarily Old Republic and First American warranties for over 15 years. I decided to try Choice Home Warranty, and I'm thrilled that I did! My service was scheduled for the same day. Choice Warranty does its best to make the customer happy. I feel there is a need to choose their techs a little better. I had an oven problem and the tech came over and did not check the code or anything. Just said "from what you're telling me this is usually the problem." Ordered the part, installed it and left. Well I still had the problem and then CW was not going to do anymore repair. Well after talking with a manager, who listened to my complaint, he agreed the tech did not check for the problem and he sent another tech from another company out and now my stove and oven work great. LOL.
Same thing with my washer, tech came and diagnosed problem, ordered part and installed but still not fixed. Not sure if he did not completely check the problem or if he misdiagnosed the problem but it still was not fixed. CW called me and explained to me that it would be better if they gave me a check to help replace the washer. Washer was only two years old. (DO NOT BUY A GE WASHER. EVEN THE REBUILDERS DO NOT WANT THEM...) So I bought a new washer. Have not received check yet but I am confident I will. Actually going to call tomorrow to see when it will arrive as it should have been here already.

This was our first claim. Our air conditioner stopped working properly on Thursday. We called Choice Home warranty and it was fixed Friday morning. The rep was courteous and helpful. The repairman was courteous. The only thing is he didn't have parts on hand. He had to go purchase them.

Choice responded quickly to my claim and sent a very reputable appliance repairman out to fix the problem with my refrigerator. This is my second claim since getting my policy in June and both times it was handled efficiently and with no problems. In fact the pool repairman on my prior claim did such a great job and explained many things about my pool that I ended up hiring him to do my weekly service. So far, I have been very pleased with Choice Home Warranty.

AC unit quit during one of the hottest weeks this year. Called Choice Home Warranty who promptly set up a visit by an AC tech. Tech was professional and punctual during the service call. CHW immediately assigned the garage door repair to a service tech. The vendor analyzed the problem and ordered parts within 2 days and the repair was completed successfully within a week. CHW followed up on the repair twice to assure timely and complete satisfaction.

We did a massive amount of research before choosing a home warranty company and from the first young man we spoke with who patiently answered all of our questions to the scheduling staff who are incredibly pleasant and helpful, we have been amazed at the level of customer service. Air condition started blowing warm. We called Choice warranty, they opened a claim. Choice warranty sent out a technician which arrive within 2 1/2 hours. My bathtub upstairs was stopped up for a couple of days and called Choice Home Warranty. I have had service for over a year and never used them. They were all over my tub protecting it. The first Co they referred me to never called me back, they knew this and got me a new Co. ASAP. I called them and they were here the very next day. CHW was very prompt with assigning a case/claim # to my issue. I called on a Sunday after discovering my central a/c quit blowing cold air. The repair person came on Tuesday, at 6:40 pm. The person that came to my house was very polite/cordial. He worked on the a/c unit and I was feeling cool again in about 2 hours.

Service was excellent and the RPS plumbers were awesome. They were so polite and competent, got the job done accurately. Choice was very receptive in honoring the claim which resulted in two claims on the same day. Choice did not charge a second copay since the plumbers were still in the residence. Excellent job done. This was my first experience with Choice and it was great! I called the claims desk at 6:45 in the morning as my A/C was no longer blowing cold air and the temperature in the house was rising rapidly. I was given the name and number of a provider who I called immediately. He arrived at 9:30 AM and by 10:30 AM my A/C was up and running. There is no way you can get better service than that. Choice Home Warranty is a life saver... My good friend Terri ** told me that I was crazy not to have a home warranty. She told me that Choice Home Warranty was the best - she was right! Our home is getting older, and I have never had a Home Warranty before... I didn't really know much about them, or who I could trust, with so many companies making empty promises. We have had problems with our disposal, and our garage door opener in the last month. The companies they sent out to fix them were fast, friendly, and did a great job!!! And it was easy to do. After the a/c being out for 4 days in 100 degree South Louisiana heat, they finally made a decision that the compressor is not covered because it wasn't "maintained" properly - by their definition. We have the unit serviced every year but they think the compressor is too close to the ground and gets dirty? Bottom line is it's an expensive repair and they don't want to pay for it. DO NOT use this company. There are lots more out there.

My service call started off bumpy but ended well!!! The first company was a no show or call. I contacted Choice warranty and they also attempted to contact them and was unsuccessful. Customer Service Rep. was very polite and courteous when claim was made. Held on while I got a pencil to take down information. Repairman called shortly after claim was made and told me the time he would be at my home. He was very prompt and courteous and listened while I described problem. He went straight to work to look at system to fix. I called him back the next day and he advised other things I needed to do, such as changing batteries in thermostat and filter if needed. He told me to call him back if I needed more help.

I submitted a reimbursement claim for my AC unit. I had my local man checking my AC as I do on a yearly basis. He found my freon to be low and added the proper amount. Choice Home Warranty did reimburse me for the amount of the bill less my deductible which I felt was fair.
