WOW!! I Called at 10 AM with a plumbing problem. I received the claim number and the company that was to do the repair immediately. One call and the appointment was scheduled. Plumbing repaired by 5 PM on the same day. I was impressed. I have been a customer for 4 years and am very please with their service.

My unit stopped working properly over the weekend and by Tuesday it was blowing hot air... I called Choice Home Warranty on Wednesday during my lunch break and in two to three hours, a tech was there to fix my problem. He even suggested some things I need to do to keep my A/C running properly.

I received excellent service with my plumbing issue. The gentleman answered my call was courteous and very helpful. He put my claim through right away and I received a call back from the plumbing company, and my plumbing issue was fixed within 24hrs at no charge as promised due to this being my first call. My A/C quit blowing. I called CHW and they assigned Arctic to the job. Arctic worked to set up a convenient appointment, came out, detected the problem, and repaired the unit. (They actually had the needed part in the truck!) Both the Arctic repairman and the CHW service rep were very professional and considerate. Thank you CHW for your quick response and for using reliable, professional contractors. I would definitely recommend CHW to any homeowner.

DO NOT BUY THIS POLICY!!! Had claims for both A/C unit and washing machine. I received same denial response for both. After technicians checked them out and we're prepared to do repairs, Choice told me they would not cover because damage happened over time, not within span of policy. It was pre-existing. They are BOGUS!

Unfortunately, we paid 3 yrs upfront for our investments properties to alleviate the headache of contacting individual technicians for any repairs. WHAT A MISTAKE! Two technicians have contacted me threatening to place a mechanics lien on our properties because CHW HAS NOT PAID THE TECHNICIAN!!! People --- If your a/c goes out, prepare yourself! They will tell you that your claim is denied due to lack of maintenance of which we have records of annual maintenance. Then they will offer you a $400 reduction to the replacement of the a/c condenser coil (which is what will probably go out). They will want you to pick up approx $400-$600 replacement costs for labor, freon, etc. AMAZING.
Their "hold" voice over while waiting for a representative actually SAYS that CHW will replace the a/c unit if it goes out. The online verbiage says the same. So WHY must you pay $400-$600 for a replacement because THEY have decided the unit is not maintained? WHAT A FIGHT to get ANYTHING taken care of. After a battle they FINALLY did replace the unit as advertised 3 months later!!! It took me 3 months of battling and threatening. In addition, I tried to cancel my contract, but they wanted to charge me for the cost they paid out for the replacement. HA. We paid $4000 for 5 properties - 3 yr span. Keep your money. Don't use these guys. TOO MANY TECHNICIANS IN LINE FOR A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT DUE TO LACK OF PAYMENT.

When I found my pool pump suddenly increasing noise, I knew the pump needed to repair immediately. So I filled request for pump service online from Choice website. I received immediate response email that told me a process to assign a service agent had been started. Few minutes later, an email came to me to inform the pool service guy already assigned and I can call him to make an appointment for repair.
After called the pool guy and made an appointment, the pool guy came to my home on-time, and just spent 20 minutes. He identified the problem and told me he would get management approval and bring a new pump in 48 hours to replace it. After next day, he called me and told the new pump already ordered and would come to install the new pump. He came on-time and quickly installed the new pump and get system run perfectly. Thanks Choice and their service agents' excellent service.

Nothing is covered. Refuse to listen to facts about problem. Always added costs for something in addition to service call and premium. A/C contractor was useless and made errors in finding problem. Claim was denied on that basis so outside contractor was called to fix at additional cost of 2486.00. Sounds like a good company unless you make a claim.

I was skeptical at first, then I made my first claim due to a leaking toilet. The service was fast. The plumber called, scheduled the appointment at my convenience and came in and diagnosed the problem and did a splendid job. I was very much impressed with quick response and set up for a/c service next day in Texas 100 degree temperature. The technician was very good and fixed the problem and spent time to explain setting tips during hot weather. Great warranty service. I will recommend to have CHW service. It will be economical to have 3 years service.

I purchased the home warranty through Choice. A month later my AC AND hot water heater go out. They did not cover the hot water heater because it was a ruptured tank. Ok fine. When I called they rep said they covered mechanical failures. When the diagnosis came back for the AC unit it was a MECHANICAL FAILURE of the compressor. Choice called me and said this," We cover mechanical failures. THE MECHANICAL FAILURE of your compressor is not covered as WE FEEL it was a pre-existing condition. WE FEEL. According to their advertisement "Bought an older home? Don't worry! Choice Home Warranty has you covered" BS!!! As a new homeowner, I wanted a warranty so I am covered in the event something happens. Choice Home Warranty did not and does not honor the service they are selling! DO NOT BUY FROM CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!!

Our AC went out Saturday evening and we submitted a claim on Sunday, Sept 6th. A technician from H.O.T. AC replaced a starter capacitor on the outside fan motor and it worked for several hours and failed sometime late that afternoon. When we called to report that failure, I was informed that the claims office was closed for the holiday and would not be able to review/approve claims until Tuesday. On Tuesday, the technician returned and replaced the fan motor after approval was received.
During my hold on Sunday, your advertisement spoke of our safety being your #1 concern, which I found contradictory to our situation (heat, AC problem on holiday). I shared this opinion with the gentleman handling my claim. In both instances of my calls, your staff did a very good job of handling our situation with professionalism and expediency. H.O.T. AC did a very good job of assessing and repairing our unit. I have recommended Choice Home Warranty to several other homeowners and we plan on renewing our contract. That being said, I believe it would be in your better interest to find a way to deal with holiday claims.

I called Choice Warranty at 7:00 pm on a Thursday evening advising my central air condition wasn't working. They took my claim information and confirmed it with an email immediately. They assigned a service technician who I talked to Friday morning and Saturday morning I had cool air. This happened leading up to a holiday weekend and I was skeptical that I would get it fixed so quickly. Both Choice and the service technician were very professional, courteous and helpful. This was my first claim since acquiring coverage and I have nothing to complain about! Very happy!

We maintain our AC & change filters regularly! Our AC went out, we called the HVAC tech. He tried to get the compressor to come on & would not work no matter what he tried. CHOICE HOME WARRANTY denied the claim & tried to say the tech said the unit was clogged & not maintained. Tech was still there & he said that is a lie, he never said that. Run away & do not do business with them! I am in contact with the AG's office & BBB!

The Sears repairman came out and repaired the refrigerator on his first visit. The Choice Home Warranty people had sent out a repairman from DLS, they were out of Kississami Florida. He was here August 10th and said he had to order a part, they came back three weeks later (only after I had complained to Choice Home Warranty). They replaced the part and left, the repair did not work. I tried to call them but they would not answer their phone, that is when Choice Warranty stepped in and sent out Sears repairman. He told me the other company had the switches in backwards and the part was not installed correctly. Once he replaced the part they installed and corrected the wiring the refrigerators works as it should. I would not recommend DLS Repair to do any repairs.

I called CHW to request service on my refrigerator at 8:49 p.m. on a Friday night. The next morning at 7:57 a.m., I received a call from a technician from Texas Appliance and TV Services. Initially, he said that he could not get to it until Tuesday of the following week (b/c of Labor Day). I naturally expressed my disappointment with that, considering I had already lost most everything in my refrigerator/freezer. Hearing that, the Tech, Sarom, said that he would be right over. He told me that he would be at my house between 9 and 10. He pulled into my driveway at 8:54 a.m. Can you image that? He diagnosed the problem right away and even had the replacement part on his truck. Again, can you imagine that?
I was a customer of AHS for the better part of a decade and I can honestly say that I had never received this level of service from them... EVER! If you happen to live in the greater Houston area and have a problem with an appliance (especially a refrigerator), do yourself a favor and request Sarom ** from Texas Appliance and TV Services, you will not regret it.

I had a burner that was out on my gas stove top. I submitted my request, got an email on the company assigned to my claim, and set up an appointment easily. I had a breaker that wouldn't reset. Power 1 Electric identified the short causing the breaker to trip, corrected the short & reset the breaker in a very short service call. Power 1 Electric was knowledgeable, capable & efficient. I was completely satisfied with the process from the time I sent in my service request until my problem was fixed.

The online claims process was very easy to do. Our claim request was responded to quickly and a reliable technician was sent the next day to repair our A/C. The technician that was sent to repair our A/C was quick and efficient. Our system was fixed in less than 30 minutes. We easily saved about $130.00 on this repair by having the CHW.

The technician arrived on time and completed the job. He was kind and was teaching an apprentice. Really great experience with this technician. I had to call Choice to get a different technician at first because the first one was going to take over a week to even make it out to my house for a diagnosis. On Sunday the day before Monday labor day my ac went out. I called Choice to tell them the ac quit. They said they would schedule a repair tech to get in touch with me. They sent an email about the company I should call, I called and they said they don't work on holiday. I called Choice back again and was told that I could call a tech and then file for reimbursement. The tech I called came and repaired the unit. I sent the invoice and was told they would not pay what I paid but would only pay what they normally pay. The temperature inside the house was 100 degrees. This was a necessary emergency but Choice said it was not. I was never told to get a pre-authorization for the amount by anyone. Choice is a rip off and I plan on letting everyone I know about them.

Kenmore dryer went bad and put a claim to Choice Home. The guy came - he could not fix it. Choice paid me off with $300. It is kind of okay. But where you can find a good dryer for $265 (300-45 service charge)? So I did not waste my time to cry about that. Went to Tanner Electronics in Carrollton TX bought a $0.99 relay and replace it. Last two months my dryer has no problem now. I been using Choice Home Warranty for few years - had very good and very very bad experience with them.

My garbage disposal stopped working. I submitted a claim online and received a reply quickly. The reply e-mail gave me a number for a plumbing contractor so as to make an appointment. I got a hold of the plumber and they came out the next day. He called in the request and Choice Home Warranty gave him the "OK" to replace. I was up and running in no time. Truly a great experience.

Air Conditioning went out on a Friday. Received two email the same day with different AC repair companies (not sure which one was actually assigned to the claim). Earliest they could come out was Monday. They came out on Tuesday around ten am. Submitted a claim that the compressor has bad "windings". The claim took about four hours for Choice Home Warranty to decline the claim. I spoke to Jessica when I was notified that I need to contact customer service. She stated that the claim was denied because we didn't have "regular maintenance to the A/C units". I stated we did and that I could send her the twice annual service records for the units. She told me I could email, but that they wouldn't look at the issue for another 24 hours. I told her that we are now without air going on five days and another day wouldn't be acceptable.
I then requested a manager. Mesha the manager was clearly trained to handle all the denied claims. She changed the reason for declining the repair and said that the house could have experienced "a power surge... among other thing." I told her to prove that I had a power surge and she said they didn't need to prove it. In fact, she said it didn't matter that I send in the normal maintenance records. Don't think for a second that this company is on the up and up! I had another warranty company when I moved into a second home and didn't have any issues...

Choice Home Warranty is a scam. They do not stand by their warranty or return your phone calls/emails when they deny your claim. They sent their contractor out to fix our AC unit, and the AC repairman advised us that we need a new AC. Choice Home Warranty denied the claim and their call center employees are rude and unethical. I'm still waiting on a response on where to have my lawyer send paperwork. They were willing to let my husband, myself and my 4-month old baby stay in a 89-degree house, while we are currently under WARRANTY with them.

I purchased two 4 year policies for separate homes, $4300. I chose the premium coverage with additional coverage for the septic and central heat unit. Two years later my central unit went out.... no coverage. They said they would send a "Goodwill" check of $1000 in order to keep my business. I never received the check. I called to cancel both policies and get a refund for the remaining prepaid coverage. I was told the "Goodwill" check was on its way and they would deduct that check from the policy refund. It's been almost two months and no check. I'm now dealing with trying to get my refund back. Do not use this company. You have been warned.

We signed up for Choice Home Warranty and were told by the sales person that "all components on all appliances were covered". When I received the paperwork, I noticed two things: Ice makers were not covered (which go out more often than any other component) and "high end" appliances were only covered up to $1000.00. I called back to cancel the policy since all of our appliances are GE Monogram and they stated "we will lift the cap" on the high end appliances.
Our refrigerator started to not cool properly and we placed a call. The first technician came out to "replace the board" and needless to say that did not work. We placed another call and the second technician stated "The board was not the problem, it was a heating element that is required that keeps the condenser from freezing". Choice then stated that "the repairs are too high" and offered us $599.00 to replace the refrigerator, and keep in mind that this is a GE MONOGRAM that retails for $4400.00! I stated that if they could replace it for $599.00 I would be happy to take it, but other than that - fix what they had committed to.
To date - no resolution. I asked to get my money back and cancel the contract and they want to SUBTRACT the service call that did not work and where the technician put in the WRONG PART. I sated that was not MY issue. Their technician blew it and they want ME to pay for it! They are a sham organization!!! STAY AWAY!!!! THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS!!! Their sales people misrepresent the policy then when you call them on it they "adjust" to keep your money then when you make a call they send incompetent technicians. THEN they offer 13% of the value of the refrigerator when they can't fix it! STAY AWAY.

I used Choice Warranty for the first time, and couldn't be more happy. I called in the claim for a backed up kitchen on a Sunday afternoon. Immediately I received a confirmation email. The Plumbing Company A-Snap called at 9:05 am the following morning and offered to come out immediately. Since it wasn't an absolute emergency we agreed upon 3-5 pm that afternoon. The Plumbers called around 2:45 and told me they were on the way. They were courteous, and very professional, and even used shoe covers without a request from me. Problem was fixed and Choice was great at following-up to make sure my problem was fixed. Choice Warranty is the way to go!

This was a repair for a rental property. We asked the technician to call us 30 minutes before he arrived since we don't live there. He did and he was right on time. He was very polite and thorough. We will request him next time we need HVAC service. The company is Aureon HVAC and it was the owner who performed the service. We also asked him to do another service for us which we paid him separately. His price was fair and he came back the day and time that he said he would. We give him a big thumbs up.

I believe my technician's name was Marco. My window for arrival was between 1-5 and he arrived at about 4:25, which was okay. He was polite and appeared to be very knowledgeable. He identified the problem and advised me as to what was needed to correct the problem. What I truly appreciated in Marco was his explanations as he went along and did not make me feel like I knew nothing. The follow-up call from Choice was also great!

I called CHW to get service on my air conditioner. When the service guy came out my air conditioner was working and I guess the service guy couldn't diagnosed the problem. 30 days later my AC went out again. Of course I had to pay another service fee. CHW representative got up with the service guy for me because I was unable to. This time my air conditioner was diagnosed with (fan motor went out). I truly appreciate the service guy. I have air now!! Thank you CHW representatives for helping me out!!!

The problems with my air conditioner and stove top burner were resolved to my satisfaction. When the service provider (air conditioning) was slow in responding, a call to Choice resulted in almost immediate response from the provider. Then, the A/C maintenance person was able to obtain approval for the repair from Choice and complete the repair all in one trip within an hour or so. Repair the compressor in one trip - he had the parts and equipment needed to effect the repair. I was very impressed at this efficiency.

I have been with CHW for almost a year now. I was initially attracted to them because of the good reviews they had online and the best price and low call fee. I have had to use request a claim twice and both times the CHW representative were extremely professional. They also had someone over in a matter of hours. The vendors are also very professional and nice. I am very pleased with the quality of service and never had any issues with CHW.

If I could give 0 stars as a rating I would. I re-read contract book cover to cover, and nowhere does it say the costs for service repairs will opened for negotiation. I pay $400 per year (3 years now) and a $45 fee per each service call. CHW is supposed to cover all remaining repair costs, including replacement if needed. First, my central air unit went out. The service tech said a circuit board was bad and needed replacing. CHW called and told me if I didn't pay $150 of the $450 cost for the needed part, my ac would stay broken. Second, my bathroom pipes were leaking under my tub, into the basement. Service tech diagnosed the problem, whole plumbing system needs replacement at a cost of $1300+. As before, CHW again called me and said they would cover $500 of the repair cost. Leaving the rest of the repair cost on me. I was just speechless and feel like I been taken.
You may have fooled me twice... You not getting a third opportunity. I phoned to cancel this so-called service, and was placed on hold for 22 minutes before I finally hung up. I submitted a cancellation notice via e-mail two days prior to this posting... Still no response. It just boggles my mind that CHW is getting all these glowing reviews. Are you guys writing them yourselves, putting phony names to them, then posting them? Because I can't be the only one complaining about really poor service.

I had very positive experience with Choice. However we have not been able to get the new pump installed yet and it has been a week. We paid the out of pocket cost to receive the new pump but have not received it yet. We are concerned with the plumbing person that was assigned our case.

One of our air conditioners was working but not cooling. I called Choice Warranty. Comfort Zone Heating and Cooling was assigned for the repair. They came out the next morning and promptly replaced the faulty part and all is working very well. We were very pleased with the service and knowledge of the technician.

I was hesitant on getting the home warranty. Finally after buying an older home I was convinced to do so. I always hear these horror stories about warranty companies not providing what was promised. I had to call because my A/C went out and the whole process was quick and simple. I would definitely suggest having this warranty.

Was on hold for a long time, but once someone answered I received information very fast. The AC guy was very busy so couldn't get to it until the next day. Choice Home warranty needs to find someone can fix it that day. When AC guy showed up he was on time and very friendly and helpful, fixed the problem in a very timely manner.

I'm pleased with the quick service and the professional technician who performed the service. He was here on time and explained what he was going to do. The repair could not be completed that day as a part had to be ordered. The technician called as soon as the part came in and completed the repair. I have used the service in the past and have found that the technicians dispatched have been courteous and professional.

Claim was promptly assigned. Appointment with repairman was made within 48 hrs. Repairman arrived on time and diagnosed problem within 10 minutes. I was not sure diagnosis was correct but after following his suggestions dryer worked like new. He was 100% correct. Prompt and reliable service. My first experience with a claim, couldn't be happier.

My washing machine stopped working and I filed my claim immediately on a Sunday evening and had a repair service contact me Monday morning to come and fix my washing machine. They showed up promptly on time, found the problem, called the Choice Home Warranty claim line and completed the repair all in less than an hour. My repaired were fully covered except the deductible. This was my second warranty repair in the last six months and both provided a great customer experience. I would recommend the Choice Home Warranty plan to all my friends and family.

I requested a plumber to fix my leaking toilet and dripping faucets. J Squared Plumbing responded to the service call and was able to immediately fix the toilet. However, he called Choice Warranty and they refused to fix my dripping faucets... I wonder why? Therefore I am somewhat satisfied with the results as my faucets are still dripping and I am still paying Choice Warranty each and every month.

I called in because my first floor air-conditioner unit was not working. I got immediate response from the owner of Pyramid Heating & Cooling. He came to my house, looked at the unit and ordered the needed part and got it the next day and installed it. It is back working 100%. All I can say is that he did an outstanding job. He was extremely nice and very professional. You have an excellent, extremely knowledgeable and very nice contractor. I completed a service request online and almost immediately received a call from St John's Heating and Air Conditioning. Within 2 hours, they were here and did a temp fix running water over the motor to give us a/c overnight. The next morning, they came back and replaced the motor. I have NEVER HAD FASTER, MORE COMPETENT SERVICE.

Went to FL to check on my condo last week. Couldn't get the main water shut off valve to close. So called Choice Home Warranty for the first time. Was very pleased with them and surprised at that with their service. Called it in at 2pm. The plumber called me one hour later to set a appointment for the next day at between 9 & 12am. Was there at 9:30, fixed the two valves in no time. All I say I am very please with this service.

These days you never know how a company is going to respond to service call, particularly when it is rather urgent. I called Choice at around 9 p.m. the evening of the A/C breakdown. This company is a rip-off. I have been paying for two years and when I finally have a claim, they deny it. My motor on my air conditioner went out and they denied it saying it was impacted with dirt. The tech who came to my house said it was normal wear and tear and nothing unusual. I change my air filter religiously every month and have the system serviced once a year, so I will be suing this company for reimbursement of my costs. Do not sign up with them, they don't honor their contracts.

My AC unit started making loud noise and I secured the power. I noticed one of the three blades connected to the condenser motor was almost torn off or broken. The condenser motor seemed to be very hot. When the technician arrived he replaced the fan and the unit was still running rough - the condenser motor shaft could have been out of alignment from this damage causing the AC unit to run rough after the replacement of the fan. I authorized the technician to replace the condenser fan motor and the unit runs very smooth now.
The home warranty representative authorized the replacement of the fan and the checking and recharging of Freon if needed. The home warranty representative would not authorize the condenser motor to be replaced. I authorized the repair technician to replace the condenser fan motor because it was not working to specification because the home warranty representative would not pay or cover this part. I feel the condenser fan motor was the root cause of this problem to my AC unit. Overall experience was good, the technician was great fixing my AC unit and I feel the warranty representative was average in his decision-making process.

I submitted my claim for a plumbing system leak in my house. 24 hours later I checked the status of my claim on the online account center, where I was given the name and number of a plumber. The plumber did his job well and was familiar with and communicated with Choice Home Warranty regarding the repair. The repair was completed successfully and quickly. I have submitted a claim with the company on Saturday august 30th, next day received email from Choice Home warranty. They were trying to verify that I was able to schedule an appointment with Better Service Inc. Since claim was filed on Saturday I wasn't expecting to get anyone in my house until middle of the week, but to my surprise I received a phone call from Better Service early morning of Monday and they were able to send technician that same day. I was told that the motor in AC unit for the better word quit working, they were able to contact Choice Home next day and get approval for new motor. Today is Wednesday and I can say that I'm writing this review out of my cool and very comfortable house. Thanks to Choice Home and Better Service Inc.

I encourage anyone to not buy a warranty with this company. I had American Home Shield for 3 years, and they were the best. I brought a plan for 3 years and paid it in full for three 3 years from Choice Warranty. I get very little customer services.... I have had two claim - one they wouldn't cover. My second claim, which was filed a week ago, they dispatched a crazy home repair person, who failed to show up, failed to communicate, and failed to meet his appointments one week later. It has been a week since my second claimed was filed. The only thing I got from Choice Warranty Services Manager, was "I will refile your claim." They are good at taking your money, but provide little follow through and timely response to problems. My washer is still broke, and I have a home warranty which is a enigma to me.

I purchased a home warranty all my home appliances. My microwave went out. The cost 1,200.00 and Choice offered me only $250.00 because they were not able to find the part. If they would of told me upfront that the cost of microwave was too much for them I would of not bought warranty. They choose to collect a monthly fee but when it's time to repair or replace they just try to give you almost nothing. Don't use them - they are a rip off.

When the technician called it was the middle of the day on Saturday. I explained I was expecting company and did not want the A/C to go out while they were here. He worked his schedule so that he could come that day. Although there was nothing wrong with my system the technician was very courteous and helpful. He took time to explain what was causing the noise and made some suggestions as to how I might resolve the problem when it occurs. I tried what he suggested the following day and it worked. Response by Choice was great, the service tech was excellent. We had 2-10 warranty close to 5 years, Choice has them beat by 100%. We are new with Choice and your accounting department explained my situation very clearly and professionally. However I was told by the sales rep that my policy would cover all we had discussed as soon as my policy became effective and this communication was repeated several times during our conversation, and apparently that wasn't so. Anyway accounting explained it to me and I paid 620.00 dollars and Choice paid 250.00 dollars. Next time my policy will fully active if I need to use it again. However in my case I would educate your salespeople to be more accurate with future customers pertaining to effective dates and (preexisting) situations. That was never discussed, and I was fooled by a salesperson to make a sale. On a positive note my first experience with Choice was all positive.

Southeast Electrical Contractors responded to an electrical issue that I had in one of my bedroom. Although they could not locate the problem, they did a complete check of the house, attic, outside wiring...the whole nine yards. It costs me a service charge...but it was worth the effort that they exerted while onsite. And the customer service with Home Warranty was great as well.

During the night, my air conditioner stopped working. Waking to a stuffy house, I reported the problem to Choice. I was assigned a service number and Fletcher's Air Comfort Technologies. Fletcher's assessed the problem that afternoon, contacted Choice and completed the repairs by noon the next day.

I am a property manager that is familiar with several Home Warranty companies. After years of dealing with AHS I decided to try Choice Home Warranty. Warranties were purchased for three units. My experiences are mixed. First call was decent when vendor unlocked my garbage disposal. Then it got worse. A/C man came from a town an hour and half away. He and Choice argued over the phone about his fee. Next vendor was about a stove top. Took a week to get the vendor out and he was sent from another town an hour and half away. The man complained about having to travel such a long distance for such a little fee. He didn't have parts to fix the stove.
Choice ended up paying me about half of what it costs to replace stove top. Choice was called for another units stove. The vendor was local and did a decent job of servicing. Choice was called about a washing machine that was only two years old. The vendor said the motor was burned up. Choice paid 1/2 the value of the washing machine. They aren't good at replacing appliances that are bad. They won't pay a reasonable amount to replace a bad appliance. At least AHS does replace units with what's considered a comparable appliance. I wrote a review on Choice's website about the problems. It was never posted. Choice obviously screens these posts and does not post negative reviews. That alone makes their ratings suspect.

This first portion relates specifically to the technician and the work provided: Marino was absolutely excellent! There should be a way devised whereby he can be cloned. He did not only repair my washing machine (with the assistance of Joel?). Marino taught me ways, down the line, to keep my washer working in an optimized conditions, proper usage, "Do's & Don'ts", and the importance of preventative maintenance! Who cared if I had the washer for over a decade, Marino set me up to get another decade or more of good use of my washer with the sound education he provided.
The following notation was copied from the overall Choice Home Warranty general review that I just submitted, per request of the company it also applies to this visit under the comments I made regarding below; See the two asterisks **: I'm highly pleased with my Choice Home Warranty Services (CHW). This summer, I had numerous repair needs develop in my 15-year old home that included my built-in microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine, hot water heater, and both of my bathroom toilets. Fortunately for me, my ability to pay a relatively low copayment (per my CHW agreement) made it easy for me to financially afford all repairs without a strain on my wallet! I wish to expound on that fact emphasizing the great affordability I now have with CHW as compared to either of the two different home warranty agreement plans I had before choosing CHW in 2014 (as well as numerous other plans costs I researched prior).
The cost margin is phenomenal, for this summer alone I would have incurred 2 to 3 times more copays for each repair and the annual costs of some warranty plans I researched are greater by 5-fold! In regards to one appliance repair, I was able to request an in-network service vendor I preferred after the company had assigned another one in my area; I was highly pleased with this because I felt empowered and autonomous with a say in who will come to my home to perform my trusty repair work based on my knowledge of a given vendor's prior reputable work.
Additionally, **the work in my home this summer was performed by technicians of known vendors who were courteous, professional, performed work in a timely manner, knowledgeable of their craft, and persons who exercised a sense of respect & responsibility with regard to me and my home. Overall, the telephonic contact I've had with the CHW staff has been courteous, responsive, and positive. Since my CHW agreement is paid up to 2018, my latter point greatly assures me! We came aboard as one of your contractors to service the El Paso, Tx area. We have since done quite a few service calls and fixed issues. Not only have we been timely but have had great customer satisfaction and referrals from them. The offset of being a contractor for Choice is 1) They shorted us out on our 2 first invoices. They agreed to pay an amount and decided to send us a check for a way lower amount. 2) Territory Manager is not professional at all. We have been calling him and emailing him and he still can't return our calls. All he did was suspend our portal and stopped us from getting more service calls. 3) Choice still has an outstanding balance with my company that's more than 30 days late and over $800... Have emailed for someone higher than territory manager call me and even like that they can't call us. They should post all negative reviews not just the positive. I hope this way they can contact my company.

My great experience started with the sales rep when I was calling around for a decent home warranty company. After listening and telling him it was not right for me, he asked what I needed so he could see if he could work with me. He was patient with my questions and genuinely helpful in my needs and information. I was sold and I told him so. Then when I filed my first claim, but then cancelled it, the customer service was polite and assuring that it would be taken care of. Then... when I actually had to call again and file a claim the service was just as great. They also sent a contractor who was qualified and informative. He was way earlier than he originally said he would be, which worked well for us. The issue was fixed on his first visit and he even followed up to let me know it was done, since I was not the one home when he came by. We have been pleased with Choice Warranty from sign on and beyond!

Mid-August in Arizona our air conditioning stopped working. After a brief moment of panic we were quickly comforted knowing a technician would be sent to our home on the next business day. Request granted, different technician called, came in and fixed the issue. Submitted the reimbursement form the next week. He recommend that I try to reduce the amount of Sun. That the unit may need replacing later. Choice called wanting to know if the repair company had been here. I recommend them over the other Co.

CHW will make every excuse to deny your claim. My claim was denied initially because "I put a claim in to soon," 2 weeks after the contract goes into effect??? CS is so sweet and professional but not when you're denied. I cancelled my 5 year contract (throw in an extra year making it 6) which I paid $1875.00 and was given back $1290.00. I only had the plan for 1 1/2 months. Do the math! They charged me more than a 1 year contract $450!! According to Aaron ** (Cadillac of the co. according to him) I should be grateful. Do not use them. Read the fine fine print! Dishonesty at its best!!!

Prompt and efficient. I am happy with the service, and would like to continue to use the same company and or person. Since they are familiar with my past problems and unit, I prefer to stick with someone I can count on and trust. I do not like to switch companies/services, once I have found a good or one that I like.

During a heat wave, our air conditioner stopped working. Due to the heat wave, Choice was not able to find an air conditioning company that was available for service in a short time. We set with our phone book and was able to find a company ourselves. With appropriate documentation, Choice still stood by and covered charges made by the company we found ourselves. Thankfully everyone was happy with the end of the story.

Caveat Emptor! I am a 20-year Active Duty Capt in the USMC. I have never before complained about a service provider. People make mistakes, but this company is out to harm you. I am now on two months with intermittent air conditioning. I am on my third service provider assigned by Choice Home Warranty (CHW). The first provider they assigned quit one week into service, kept our service fee and left us without a working air conditioner. 90 degree heat, a pregnant wife and four young children with no air conditioning!
Nine days after my first call to CHW, a second service provider got it up and running in just an hour, but then never came back to finish the job. When I contacted them 5 weeks later, the owner told me he was no longer doing business with CHW because of their "poor business practices." The air conditioner was intermittent at this point so CHW sent a third service provider. They replaced the thermostat and left. Still did not fix the problem.
The company sent out a different technician and they determined it was a THERMAL EXPANSION VALVE. Take a wild guess what is excluded from coverage with CHW when it comes to air conditioners. You are correct! The THERMAL EXPANSION VALVE! $350 parts and labor. You would have to be an HVAC specialist to even know what that is and whether or not your particular system would even have it! CHW sales reps will tell you, "PROTECT YOUR HOME. GET A WARRANTY. Home Breakdowns Occur. Protect Yourself by keeping your family, yourself, and your assests safe. Nothing is more important." That’s copied and pasted from their website by the way. The misspelling of "assets" tells you everything you need to know about this company.
I chose this company because they supposedly covered everything AHS covered, but for less. Obviously, you get what you pay for. They'll even sell you a policy before you have purchased your home! How convenient. Big take aways. 1. CHW does not care about its customers. Period. They will send hacks to your home to fix your critical utilities and appliances. Hacks. Because that is the only support they can garner with their lowball payments to their service providers 2. They do not provide emergency services. So I hope you don't live in a cold climate, because you’re looking at frozen/busted pipes when your furnace goes out in 20 degree weather. They have up to 3 days to assign you a service provider who will be the absolute bottom of the barrel because they try to pay them as little as possible so they can protect their assests not yours (misspelling nod to CHW).
So, in summation, I signed the contract. I read the exclusion. I am responsible for selecting the absolute worst Home Warranty Company in existence. I am writing this so hopefully someone might avoid the same mistake. Take your money elsewhere! Run as far and as fast as you possibly can. Tell you friends, family, neighbors and co-workers. This company is a wolf in sheep's clothing. They do not care about you! They will not protect you!

When the capacitor in my living room ceiling fan died, I called Choice for a technician. They responded immediately, and within 24 hrs I had an appointment scheduled. The technician went above the call of duty to replace the fan that died, and Choice offered a reasonable reimbursement which allowed me to upgrade to a really nice model.

My air conditioning on our heat pump was not working and I called Choice on Friday. They took a while to assign a technician because it is that time of the year where everyone that will have a problem has a problem. Our unit is relatively new--just installed last year and went out suddenly. It was 94 degrees in our house. No Monkey Business Heating and Air was assigned to my claim # ** and I immediately called. The lady at the company was very nice and sympathetic but could not have a tech come out until Saturday at 1 pm - 5 pm. The tech, Ken did call en-route and arrived at 1:30 pm, and he did fix it and left at 2:45 pm. Lightning had struck one of the lines and he had to replace it. He was very helpful and courteous and we really appreciated his attitude and his service. I am really glad that my unit is fixed and that the technician was really courteous and professional. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

The upstairs A/C unit shut off. After the technician arrived, he determined that the problem was a clogged drain line. I had the air handler replaced 3 months prior and had to pay a fee for new drain lines since this handler was larger than the previous one and the coverage did not cover new construction. In addition, the previous tech assured me that they did that as part of the install and on top of the installation, they provided me with a summer maintenance service since I was not satisfied with the damage that was done to the attic access. Well, this technician determined that the drain line probably had not been flushed as stated and I had to pay an additional fee for this to be performed. So, on top of the $$ for the service call, I paid three times that to get my unit working again. But, I will say he was on time, and performed the service timely and we are overall pleased with the service.

We had a washer machine issue and we called Choice. And the customer service rep got us scheduled right away with a technician that came out same day and discovered our issue to correct. He was so professional and explained the issue and the resolution to be sure we were aware of the next steps. From the beginning to the end of claims, we were given exceptional service. I will definitely be recommending Choice to family and friends.

Do some research and you will find that this is the worst home warranty company and are a ripoff. The company is still saying that we did not have proper maintenance to our AC, which is untrue. We provided evidence that we had the unit serviced several times during the last year, including an inspection and cleaning, and no rust, leak or corrosion was found. Also, this should be a big point which they are not acknowledging. When we placed the first service request to Choice Home Warranty on June 23, 2015, the company did not mention leak, rust or corrosion, but a wire that needed fixed. After fixing the wire, he said the unit came back on and worked fine.
As for the 2nd service request which was done by a different company, if they now found any leak, rust or corrosion, this should have been found and reported by the first company. I believe that Choice Home Warranty is doing whatever they can to not pay a claim that should be taken care and should be held responsible. They advertise that all things wear out in time and you should have peace of mind by using them. We did everything we were supposed to by maintaining the system and want our peace of mind and not be treated unfairly. Also, I called the first company that Choice sent out and he told me he quit servicing Choice because they never paid him for his service, and that's why we got a different company the 2nd time. He also said the same thing we have found out is that they will do whatever they can not to pay a claim.

My AC unit and garbage disposal gave up same day. When I call the Choice, the customer support lady, Monica, was very nice and searched the place where can fix both so I don't have to pay separate service call fee. It turned out that the garbage disposal was actually not broken but just had to press one button on the bottom. Technician was polite and reliable, he had to order part for AC and fixed later. I am happy with Choice's service and will recommend this company.

My air conditioner went out. I called the Choice Home Warranty company at 8 am. A technician called me back within 2 hours and set up an appointment the same day. The technician was outstanding and repaired my air conditioner that day of visit. I was extremely happy with the entire service.

My washer and dryer both had problems Tuesday night. 2 days later, both work perfectly. The great part is that I only paid for one service visit for both fixes. The technician arrived promptly at the time he stated upon calling. Within 30 minutes he was done with both. He left me his card and was very courteous. Thanks Choice!

This is my first and only home warranty company and I never cease to be impressed with their business model - You file a claim, they assign a contractor, they follow up to ensure you and the contractor communicate, they follow up to ensure completion. My last claim resulted in a satisfactory settlement since it was not repairable. Highly recommend.

I had a problem with my washing machine leaking water on the floor. I filed a claim online and received an immediate respond from the claims team with info on service technician. The technician came out the next morning. Excellent service!!!

I one day and was assigned a number and within minutes a plumber was assigned. He arrived the next day at the time that I was promised and did an excellent job on repairing a very complicated commode. I was a plumber years ago and I know how difficult these things can be. I would recommend AttaBoy Plumbing who is the company you sent to all my neighbors. I have sold one contract for you and have two myself.

I was well pleased with the work done by Jeremiah Plumbing. He came here from Macon to check out what was needed for repairs and followed up the next day with all parts required. Repair was done expeditiously.

Washer was not working. The motor needed to be replaced. Due to the age of washer they were not able to fix it. I was told I would get $300 in about 30 days and I would need to purchase a washer on my own. I thought Choice Home Warranty fixed or replaced appliances.

Choice Home Warranty allegedly deceived me as a consumer by refusing to pay for my air conditioner compressor stating due to none normal wear and tear based on the guidelines of my contract. The technician stated he has never heard of such a coverage and CHW is ripping me off. I want my $1300, back from CHW for not covering the repair of my compressor as stated in my contract.

We needed to find a more customer service oriented insurance. We searched the web and found Choice Home Warranty had a lot of good reviews on "ConsumerAffairs." Called them up and discussed our condo appliance coverage needs with CHW sales representative, Elliot **. He was charming, accommodating, cooperating and willing to have us signed. He even offered a 3-year coverage at more discounts with a $45 service fee for each coverage call - with first call fee waived! We should have known this was "too good to be true," but we trusted him and signed up. We paid the policy premium in 4 monthly payments.
About 1.5 month under the contract, the air-conditioning unit needed attention. We called and a tech. rep. was sent to the condo who put in some freon gas in the A/C unit. Our tenant called after 3 days and informed us the air-conditioning was not functioning properly. He was going to buy a portable A/C unit to get the condo cool enough until we get the unit fixed again. Our condo is located in Scottsdale, Arizona where the temperature hits 110-118 F in July. CHW was called again. A new technical service was assigned who wouldn't be able to make an appointment until 3 days later!! This wasn't acceptable, as the A/C was not working at all at this time and the Tenant's portable A/C unit was not cooling sufficiently against the high temperatures.
So, We called CHW again and reviewed the emergency nature of this matter with several representative. Finally they decided to assign the first technician to fix the A/C. The tech. rep. finally made it to the condo and informed our tenant that he would put in some more freon gas. Our tenant tells him that the A/C may have other problems that need to be looked into. The technician leaves the condo without putting any freon gas!!!
We received a call from CHW to call their claims department immediately. We called and were told that the A/C malfunctioning was caused by moisture and corrosion that were not covered under the agreement! Of course we disagreed and asked CHW why their technician had not diagnosed and reported the problem in his first visit, and even in his second visit he had offered to put in more freon gas!? In the mean time we had to find another reliable technician to fix the unit so the tenant would not suffer any more. The technician responded quickly and found the coil was not working. The reason was not related to moisture or corrosion, but to the normal life cycle of the coil. It had to be replaced. They ordered the parts and installed the new coil within 4 hours and get the A/C working!
We discussed this remedy with several CHW claims reps. and sent them the invoice that was for $1989 to pay. We recommended to CHW to contact our property manager, our tenant, the technicians who fixed the unit to verify that what we told them was all true and factual. But, they refused and sited the contract clauses for all the exclusions. Since we didn't have any alternatives, we paid the invoice and decided to cancel the agreement. In CHW's last attempt, a cancellation representative offered $300 to keep the contract live. We declined. They even told us that they credit back a refund for the balance of the premium we had paid in 15-30 days. CHW would deduct $50 for admin. fee, prorate the refund for the time the policy was in force, and reduce the refund by other deductions. We have never received the details of these deductions in spite of our email request!!
In a nutshell, we strongly believe CHW is a "rip-off" Web-based operation that lures people through using unusual discounts and deals, but will not honor its customers' trust and contract by providing what is expected & needed in desperate situations, like 114F heat in Scottsdale; and would not even allow customers to contact with the original salesperson!!
We called the original salesperson numerous times and left messages on his recorder, as he had told us to do in emergencies, before signing the contract! It is a set up to fool people to get in, to rip them off and even insult customers' logic, trust, and desperation. We believe this organization should be investigated by the Federal authorities. We also believe ConsumerAffairs, knowingly or unknowingly, supports this shaky web-based establishment. We recommend for ConsumerAffairs to investigate the authenticity of CHW and their services before reflecting any further positive reviews on their services. We can provide details of this unfortunate ordeal and ugly experience to you for your further knowledge.

I've only really needed this once but CHW was a good decision. The customer service was great and my problems were handled quickly. Every question I had was answered and addressed in a very timely manner. My claim was handled very quickly and I'm really happy with the service and the fact I made the decision to have this. I recommend it to anyone who owns a home and have already told my friends about it.

The Technician stated that the thermostat caused for the transformer to fail. He had to order a new transformer and installed it the next day. Our air condition is working great! We are happy customers, we highly recommend ATC Air Temperature Control for their qualified technician.

Worst home warranty ever! Just cancelled my policy as I had water leak in my water heater due to wear and tear. The heater is 19 years old and they claim it's tank problem that is not covered. Don't waste your money, it's a useless company that will always find a trick not to pay for fixing your issue.

Had inner element of a dual burner on Maytag cooktop go out. Placed claim online and received claim number within the hour and local point of contact to make appointment for repairs. Come out next day and placed order for part after paying my required $45 deductible. Received part a week later, scheduled appointment for next day. Serviceman had part and had it placed within an hour. Great service to have, everything fell together seamlessly. Would highly recommend this service to anyone.

Once I got beyond the initial reaction of the claims department of saying no, things starting to happen very positively. The work and attitude of the Retention department was outstanding. The repair team in Slidell could not have been better. They were courteous, very professional and got the job completed efficiently and when they left the house it was clean. I could not have been more pleased.

Air conditioner would start and then stop. Technician came out, walked me through what he was doing and found the problem. He fixed it. His knowledge led him to the cause which other technicians may have missed. He cleaned up some corrosion on the expansion valve and checked the pressure of the coolant. Within 45 minutes of him arriving my house was getting cool again. My worst fear, having to get a new heat pump, avoided... the technician said the system looked good and should last a while.

Claim was answered same day, and as it was on a Saturday the contractor assigned was able to schedule the repair for the following Monday. They were professional, on time, completed repair in timely manner and tested once finished. I would actually recommend the contractor to friends that don't have the warranty service.

I am a new customer with CHW and this is my first claim for my washer and I had a terrible experience with them. Choice Home Warranty people are fraud, cheaters and you can't rely on them. My washer was not working. Placed claim on Sunday and technician came in to check on Tuesday. He diagnosed that control board was bad and need to replace and Choice Home Warranty denied the claim on ph with tech. Then I been calling them every single day for week and they never responded back. Every time I called they are telling me that proper diagnosis was not received from tech. I called tech week after and he said he gave them everything and CHW knew everything.
Finally they sent some other tech after 10 days to check my washer again. Tech from DLS services came and said the small control board is not working and he is going to order that and will come back to fix it. Next day I got call from CHW that it's because of secondary damage and related to door lock so they are not going to cover this. Now I am stuck with CHW and can't even get my washer fixed. I paid them for 3.5 years. I am not sure if they will even give me my money back.

My wife and I moved into our house 4 months prior to our central air conditioner going out. We knew from the home inspection that the AC was very old which is the only reason we bought the home warranty. Well when the AC went out on us CHW ultimately denied our claim because they claim the AC had not been properly maintained despite us providing records going back several years that the previous owners had annually had the AC unit checked and maintained.
I say this was their ultimate decision because they tried multiple "reasons" to before this determination as to why they denied our claim which were - there were bushes too close to the unit (which the closest was over a foot away). Our unit was too new to fail so it had to be poor maintenance that caused it to fail (we had to prove to them that the unit was 26 years old because the "vendor" they sent out to diagnose the unit said the unit was from 2009 instead of 1989). On one of the service records I provided mentioned the unit was old and the owner MAY want to think about replacing but currently working properly. But the "technicality" that they used to ultimately deny our was because we did not have it serviced since we moved into the house.
Their policy is also very vague and open to interpretation and they will argue that you did not follow the "guidelines" in the policy and if you try to argue that something that is not specifically stated in the policy they will claim that it's the "industry standard." So for example, even though the policy does not specify state that maintenance has to be completed annually, they made the claim in our case that since the last maintenance was barely over 1 year prior to the AC going out, "industry standard" is annual maintenance by a certified company. And by the way, this process I'm describing took 8 days to ultimately deny us because they need 24-48 hours to review every objection we had to the denials.
We live in Chicago and could imagine arguing with this company in the middle of February if our furnace went out when it's negative degrees outside. Not worth the money or hassle. Overall I think this company is a scam and there is a reason they just lost a lawsuit and are required to pay out large amounts of money to customers. I just wish we would have known about this while researching home warranties. I would avoid this company at all costs because they will find a way not hold up their end of the bargain.

We have 11 properties, each covered by Choice Home Warranty. Choice has excellent customer service, they're easily accessible and handle claims in a timely manner. Additionally, they allow you to use your own contractors, as long as you submit approval to Choice prior to repairs being done. They're always prompt with reimbursement as long as you follow their approval process in advance.

I thought my a/c was making a funny noise. I called choice and they told me someone would call me within 8 hours. A local company did call me and was out the next day. A very nice man came out and looked over the whole a/c unit. No repairs were needed!
